I guess I should feel lucky. My $2200 LG refrigerator lasted 3.25 years. Reading all of the other reviews it appears the average is 2.5 years. LG states the life expectancy is 20 years. If they truly believed that, why doesnt the compressor have a 20 year warranty. Its baseless marketing, My dead refrigerator has been standing in my kitchen Since July of 2019. Consumers settled a class action suit against LG, but LG still has not done a thing to resolve my issues except send me a generic e-mail referring to their website. LG responds to these reviews, stating this is not a normal customer experience.LG fought a class action suit, lost, and had an appeal dismissed on their faulty compressor issues. And they have yet to fulfill their obligations in the settlement. This is the routine for LG customers, not the exception. Search: LG REFRIGERATOR CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT BENTLEY, ET AL. V. LG Refrigerator - Paid $3500. JOKE. Been repaired repeatedly by P.C. Richards service department. Theyve even asked LG to replace the unit as all possible parts have been replaced. This is the worst possible product. LG has now lost a customer and Im telling everyone I know not to purchase. I thought I was buying a top of the line product... French doors, freezer drawers (that come off track). Water lines froze constantly and now compressor has broken numerous times. Ive lost about $1,000 in products to no refrigeration/freezer. Tomorrow will be the 6th attempted repair since April. HELP!

We bought the LG appliance bundle of an oven/range, refrig, microwave and dishwasher and we also bought the front loading washer and dryer. This was one GIANT mistake and I regret buying from LG. Our ice maker was manufactured incorrectly and as a result we had 5 diff repairmen sent out with no solution. Our refrigerator should have been replaced but LG delayed the services and repairs putting us outside of the warranty date. Now our oven went out in less than 5 years and it has to be replaced. I went back through my LG file and remembered all of the problems with trying to get my rebates and that I had to spend more time trying to get it than it was worth. I have since learned that others have issues with their LG refrig and now I am learning about oven issues. Overall, I have learned to never buy LG. I was a believer but have since changed and advise others to avoid LG.

Purchased a highly rated LG refrigerator in 2011 with a 10 year warranty on the compressor. 8 years to the day, the compressor died. Compressor is under warranty, but other parts & labor are my expense. When the repairman went to install the replacement compressor sent from LG he found it was not the same. In fact it was very different. LG Parts dept said it was compatible & should work. The repairman, who has 30 + years experience, told us that the refrigerator would need rewiring & even then there was no guarantee it would work. He estimated his labor time to be 4 hours. Further discussion with LG brought no other resolution. Bottom line, they do not have the compressor for older models. They could have offered to put the labor under warranty but they did not. Their final word was that someone on their end (from the parts dept) would instruct the repairman how to install the compressor. We know this repairman for over 20 years. He is very honest & very good. He said trying to install the compressor sent, as is would be a fire hazard. His recommendation is to save our money on the labor cost & put it to a new refrigerator. NOT LG. Another comment: I had little choice in 2011 when I went to buy a refrigerator the size I wanted. The bottom freezer was the style. I hate it for many reasons. You cant put boxes in without them jamming; even ice cream containers. I freeze meat & chicken in air tight bags in order to fit more in. I am now looking for a top freezer instead.

We move a lot and this is our 4th LG Washer and Dryer set. However the new machines, neither fill properly with water or agitate like the older models and therefore clothes, towels, sheets do not come clean. We were told by LG to use the permanent press cycle as it uses the most water. In addition, select prewash, extra rinse and heavy duty (for amount of soil). All this take over 1.5 hours. It does use a bit more water and clothing is much cleaner but not 100%. All our whites have slowly greyed after using this washer for 6 months. Yes they can advertise that they use less water but they sure cannot advertise that the washer does its job.

Our oven range of its own volition heats up to maximum heat, will not shut off and has to be totally unplugged from electricity. This happened to me 6th Sept 2019. LG has a recall with full in home service for many units exhibiting this potential catastrophic fault. When contacted LG informed me my model was not on the recall list. Their concern and help consisted of advising me to have a recognized LG technician at a cost up to $240 check to find the problem and get it fixed. Check the recall. Judge for yourself if you now want to risk your home, property, life and physical injury buying a LG electric oven range.

Hello to all. YET ANOTHER customer affected by this garbage LG is allowed to sell in the USA. I purchased in 2011 so Im out of warranty but the parts are still covered. Well it took 5 weeks to get a part sent. LG authorized tech came in with a $1,000 bill and a little Google search proves they are bad parts. Leaking freon leaking water that generated a sheet of ice under freezer trays amongst a kitchen floor destroyed by 1 product. Terrible quality products.

We had an LG washer and dryer and when we were shopping, we liked the brand. I like the refrigerators space, and the reflector under the French doors. But we had to have the compressor replaced twice in like three and a half years. The refrigerator seems to be okay now though. The tech said that when I got the first one replaced, they haven’t actually solved the issue with the compressor yet. He said that now, it has been updated and it should be fine.

Purchased WT4970 washer November 2014. Since installation washer has deposited material on clothes. After four service calls, three replaced parts, both LG technical support and their authorized service technicians do not have a cause of this problem. The washer is clearly defective and LG refuses to respond to my request for a return to Lowes. Please be aware LG customer service has no authority to make a decision on replacement and have demonstrated a willingness to allow a customer to put-up with a product that doesnt clean clothes for eight months. No end in sight. This washer is the first major appliance that could not be fixed and the first company Ive dealt with who is unwilling to do the right thing and replace the unit. Sadly, this was my first and will be the last purchase of any LG product. I thought they were a honorable company. There are plenty of other choices out there. If customer service is important to you, stay away from LG washers.

After 20 years with Kenmore we decided to buy a LG refrigerator. We paid $2200.00. It broke down after 11 months. Called Lowes to find out about the warranty repair. Was told to call LG. Called LG and was told to call a service company. Was given the number. Called the company and was told by them they have not did service for LG over 5 years and told LG to take them off the list. Called back to LG. Got the same number. Explained to them they do not service LG anymore. Was the told they cannot find anyone in our area. After two days of phone calls was given a number to someone called. He came out. Had never worked on LG before. Didnt know how he was getting paid. Call LG to help walk him through the repair. They told us it was a fan and will order it 4 days later. Still no word. Called LG. Was told the part will ship today. Refrigerator is still down. Will have to wait until next week to see if it gets repaired. I will never buy appliance or any big ticket item again from Lowes or LG or anything LG sells. Will stay with Kenmore or with a company that offers local service.

I purchased an LG Microwave P/No 3850W2A233P. The handle seems to be made of stainless steel - what a stupid thing to do since 90% of Microwaves are located above ovens. The heat from the stove and the pots and pans heat the handle and no warning label or anything lets consumer knows to be careful. That never happened with my Samsung Microwave and we owned it for 13 years. WHAT A Waste of money. My son got burned so bad we had to take him to the doctor. Horrible product. DO NOT BUY.

Why is zero stars not an option I wonder? Do not trust in an LG refrigerato
Why is zero stars not an option I wonder? Do not trust in an LG refrigerator! I bought all new kitchen appliances five years ago (all LG) and the most expensive was the french door refrigerator. It is supposed to have a state of the art linear compressor. Well, please research and you will see many people in the same position as myself. After two years, the refrigerator compressor failed. It was like pulling teeth to have LG get a technician out to my home even though it is under warranty. Low and behold, after numerous calls I was able to get a technician to my home to say I need a new compressor. Parts needed to be ordered - another delay which took about three weeks. Finally a technician returned once all parts came in, just to say there is also an internal leak in the fridge and it needs replacement! I have now been without a fridge for about 5 weeks and LG still hasnt helped with a resolution. I have an alternate resolution case assigned and that can take about 10 more days for them to determine what action LG will take if anything. Absolutely awful customer service no matter who you get on the phone and they just dont care saying its their policy and they do not take action. Buy any other brand!!!

Purchased LG LFXS29626 refrigerator in mid-2015, the people at Home Depot were swamped with calls today. “It’s been like this for 4 months” she said. The Samsung and LG fridges made from 2013-2016 are all failing at an alarming rate, and any retailer that carried these disasters are feeling the backlash. The compressor on mine failed at 3yrs and 2 days exactly. I had purchased a 3 yr warranty, which including the 1 year from the manufacturer but doesn’t mean 4 years total. It’s still 3 yrs total. The first line of customer service with Home Depot refused to help with anything, but as most of us have done recently, we had to escalate to her supervisor. Credit where credit is due, Sup honored the extra few days and bailed us out of an $1,100.00 repair.Your mileage may vary but my compressor (the “New” Linear Compressor, guaranteed to last at least 2 years) failed along with the start switch block and a micro leak somewhere in their new closed-loop Freon system. But here’s where the issues started piling up: there’s no compressors in stock anywhere in the US. They’ve been failing at such an alarming rate they can’t be found. And to make matters worse there is no evidence whatsoever that LG’s engineering team has made any changes to the awful design of this piece. Their materials are pitifully weak and often just pot metal, their quality control/fit is ridiculously sloppy, and their whole concept of parts design is a disaster. My neighbor has one, purchased in January of 2015. His failed around last Christmas so we were biting our nails wondering when ours was going to let go. You can set your watch to it. We have 7 people in the family, and nobody is geared up to help us. The failures are just too chaotic. Home Depot has a 10 cu. Ft. loaner (a very small 3’ college dorm size), but it stays lent out due to the recent crises. I threatened to just buy another large fridge, this time one that would last like a Whirlpool - then return it. But they’re wise to that one. The new policy for fridge returns is 48 hours. Same for Lowe’s, Best Buy etc. After all, why should HD have to pay and compensate customers for sloppy Chinese imports that we keep gobbling up at a fever pitch?A call to LG revealed there’s nothing they can do for me even if case is escalated, so it’s living out of a cooler chest for the next 3 weeks. The service tech that came to the house noted that it would indeed fail again. He was working 10 calls that day, and 7 were either Samsung or LG refrigerators. And all of those were the compressor. He knew what my problem was before he walked in, but verified it anyhow to make it official. He and I discussed the “good” fridges for future reference: 1) Whirlpool (said he rarely has issues with those), 2) Some Kitchen Aids (watch out because LG makes some of those) and 3) Kenmore (watch out again because sometimes Samsung makes certain models). 4-**) SubZero and all the high-end units, but they still fail through the complexity of design. He’s been doing this for 7 years, so he knows. But we Americans are such suckers for flashy stuff. Like $7,000.00 internet refrigerators, a 20” LED color display, LED lighting with 4 doors, 2 icemakers, shiny black finish, two freezer doors, doors within doors for the fridge portion, stereo speakers, cameras inside the fridge to see what’s inside while you’re at the store with the cell phone app. And we love to impress our friends with a huge shiny expensive fridge. The kind that are designed to break in 3 year cycles. We rotated food to an old Kenmore circa 1982 that’s still running like a champ since we bought it 40 years ago. Not too big but it helped. Shelves are broken and doors squeak, but it still gets ice cold. No people, they don’t make them like they used to. And certainly no one cares one way or the other. It’s like buying a Mercedes; you’ll get little sympathy from anyone when it breaks down on the interstate. Especially the dealer. I’ve heard more ramblings of a class action against LG and Samsung of late than any time before. I’d keep your eyes peeled.

I purchased what appeared to be an attractive French Door Refrigerator from Best Buy for over $2,000. After less than 2 years, all the door bins are cracked and about to literally fall off the doors. In addition, the freezer tray drawer is deteriorating and plastic pieces are breaking off and falling onto the food in the freezer drawer below. The drawer almost doesnt work now. We also purchased an extended warranty (Geek Squad) for another $249 but when I called them, they said that these items are not covered, because they do not affect the refrigerators ability to cool! I have more than 35 years in the plastics industry and know for a fact that these parts are failing because of a combination of poor product design and poor material selection. Its too bad I didnt read this blog before I purchased an LG refrigerator, and I strongly warn against buying their products. And I will never again purchase a Geek Squad warranty (who subcontracts their appliance claims to N.E.W.).

Oven started smoking from back side close to the wall. Smelt and looked like it could be burning from inside the back of unit. Called LG on Oct 10th. LG sent repair company on Oct 19th, repair men said they had never seen anything like this before. It appeared that the underbelly of the stove had melted something that they could not repair and thought LG would end up replacing the unit. After several calls to LG and them promising to keep in touch by several departments from first call to report the issue to elevated with executive to liability am told the warranty had been voided due to us extinguishing the potential fire in our kitchen. Today is November 12th. Was promised another call on November 9th. Again no response on side of LG.

Bought an LG LMXS30076S refrigerator July 2016 and Sept. 2017 everything suddenly thawed out. Called LG several times and they said it would be on me since I didnt buy the extended warranty. They sent me the # for the 1 and only place that handles their repairs within 60 miles of me. I called them and they didnt even want to deal with my refrigerator since they said they always have issues getting LG to reimburse or pay them for parts and service. Id have to pay $89 to just have someone come out to diagnose. They came a week later and said all the Freon leaked out and I would need to have the entire cooling unit rebuilt. It would cost $1200 in parts alone! I called the store I bought this from and they worked with LG and they said they would cover it (how nice of them).Parts came in 2 weeks later, I took the day off to wait for the repair guy. He worked on it for an hour and ran into an issue reaching a part in the unit that he needed to access. He called LG and asked how to problem solve this, they told him to cut it apart and solder it after installing. He asked who would be responsible if he did this and further damaged the unit. They said it was his problem and hung up on him. LG you should be ashamed of whoever you have employed to handle these calls. And you have repair contracts with technicians you treat like crap! Useless junk refrigerator and Im stuck with it? I think a class action lawsuit is in order.

We purchased our refrigerator in November of 2015. Customer no service is worse than terrible. Our refrigerator broke down in August of 2019. It is now February 2020. We have had a working refrigerator for 3 days. Since then repair is a nightmare. Only comes on their schedule (A&E) and only when they want. If you ask to speak to management they hang up on you or put you thru transferring you to all incorrect departments. When they hang up on you they block your number so you cannot call back. The 4th person that came out said the parts he was installing looked used. Gosh wonder why they didnt work. Last person out said defect in refrigerator design was the problem even if they order parts will not work. He called LG. They are sending parts to repair defective refrigerator. LG model #lmxs30776s.

Two days after that my wife called to say that all the food in the freezer part had defrosted. When I got home I pulled the fridge away from the wall and checked the fan and compressor, they seemed to be running fine. I called LG and I was told the fridge is out of warranty and diagnostic would be $185 plus parts and labor! I am still trying to figure out what to do, fix the 7 year old one or buy a new one, from what Ive been reading its not going to be an LG. We also splurged and purchased the LG combo after being told they were the best. We had them 4 months and the washer began to leak. We had the service people out 7 times. Of course, it would not leak when they were here. We also had the disgusting odor and high-pitched scream when filling with water. The service men informed us that it could no way be their problem--it had to be something we did. They also had no idea how to get rid of the smell. We were still under warranty at the time. I had to keep taking off time from work to be here when they were here. The last time they were here, though, I walked in on one of them talking to their dispatcher complaining that they had been here several times and they were making no money on this call. Isnt that great? I have a faulty washer and dryer and they are worried about money? What about the money we spent on these relics? Needless to say, that was the last time they were here. I just happened to ask a sales lady at Home Depot about the odor and she told me about the front panel and draining that tube and actually running Clorox bleach through the machine. She also said do not use Downy whatever you do as it builds up on the drum and does not come off and always leave the washer door open. But, now, there’s a new problem: the light never goes off in the washer. It used to. I emailed LG and their response was you need a service call. Are you kidding? If there is a class action suit, I want in. I have not talked to one person that is happy with their machine!

When I auto cleaned the oven for the first time (dont use that often) three months ago, the F3 button started flashing about 2 hours into it but it continued to finish cycle. So then the phone calls finally staying home from work for a service repair who takes an hour to assess the range and then he needs to order the part and have it sent and then then set up another appt. but it worked. So I cleaned the lower oven 6 weeks later and the control panel shorts out again. Service is coming so well do the same thing all over again. Our LG refrigerator wasnt 3 years old and the compressor went. It was covered under a 10 year warranty through LG. 2 days after it broke a LG repairman came out and said it would be a 6 week wait for a compressor. That was unacceptable. Tried calling LG customer service a few times. And kept getting the runaround. We bought it at Best Buy. LG was telling us that Best Buy was responsible even though its on paper that the compressor is LGs responsibility. They did not want to give me what I paid for and deserved. I purchased my LG French Door freezer model number LFX25976 through Direct Buy during 2011. The bottom freezer abruptly stopped freezing and the refrigerator stopped cooling. However, the fan works. Was initially believing refrigerator had gone into automatic defrost but after two days of none cooling or freezing, my belief now is that the compressor may be the culprit. One year ago, same incident occurred but after several hours, my refrigerator began cooling and freezing again. Contacted LG during that time and was advised that it was common for the refrigerator to automatically defrost and does so without any warning. But this time it has been two days and my refrigerator has yet to begin functioning properly.

We purchased this refrigerator in May 2015. Ice maker has always been marginal, but this last week after we got home from a few days away, we found the refrigerator and freezer not working. No error codes, so we tried a power reset. Still no cooling or freezing. We called the appliance repair from the store we purchased from and their technician came out and verified the compressor had failed. He said their shop would contact LG about getting a repair estimate. We had purchased a 5 year warranty, but were 15 months out of coverage. Started to investigate if this was a common problem and lo and behold, we find there was a class action suit against LG for defective linear compressors. Our model was in the affected date range, however the settlement only covered 5 years after purchase for parts and labor. We are now waiting for a repair estimate. LG compressors are not reliable. Do your own research. These fridges are advertised as saving money, but when you spend over $2000 for a piece of junk that only lasted 6 years, do the math. They are not cheaper to own. We went shopping for a replacement and told the sales lady our experience with LG refrigerators and she commented that several of her customers had conveyed the same story about failed LG compressors. It is probably going to make more sense to just purchase a new refrigerator, given the cost of repair labor. Rest assured, it will not be LG or any other LG product in the future. LG is not Life is Good. It is Lucky Goldstar. Our luck ran out.

Worst and Cheating Service from LG. Issue Started from Deepavali. I had complained regarding TV service before 40 to 50 days but still, the status is the same.My TV Model No. LG-LED/42LA6620 got a problem as the TV was not turning ON, regarding this I had complained and an executive told that they will come and diagnose the issue. After couple of days, he came and saw that there is a problem in it and told he will return in a couple of days and went. But later he did not return at all. He did not even receive our calls and we were in search of help, but nothing happened. Later I called to customer care and you people told that it will be done on chargeable basis. Even visiting charges should be beared by the customer. I agreed for that and requested for the executive at my place. And you people struggled a lot to arrange a person to my place but you people failed to do that. But we are the person who is suffering and ultimately our situation is like Wait or Go and as we got an expensive TV from you and fortunately or unfortunately I have got all LG brands in my house (TV, FRIDGE, WASHING MACHINE etc.,) and I am a promoter for LG product. But now am just afraid that how about future of the products I got. How the support and services for these products, am panicked. And after struggling a lot we didnt get any help from LG but we at the receiver end have to get our TV repaired and took that TV personally and went to the other city that is Hospet from Gangavathi for getting it serviced. After submitting that TV they told that it has to be diagnose and it will take a couple of days and we left our TV there and returned. After couple of days, they told that there is a motherboard issue and it will charge you around 7k to 9k.I told them to go ahead and service it. I want the TV to be Fixed. But trust me I have doubt on those technicians over there, I am having an impression that I am in safe hands or someone trying to loot us. But still, I told them to go ahead and service it. Later after a couple of days, I get a call saying that it will take a month to replace it. I told, Okay. Fix it as soon as possible. And later I get one more story that, We need bill sir as this motherboard is not available as of now, if you provide bill then we will look for depreciation and you can go for another model. Now am really frustrated and just cant control myself for simple issue, I am okay with taking TV personally to the service center, I am okay with replacing a motherboard, I am okay with money, I am okay with time. Now its a new phase. They are asking me to go for depreciation. But I managed my self to get the bill and submitted to them but until today am in the same situation and TV is in the same condition. Today 23/12/2017 morning when I called to the customer care, I get these type of responses ie., Sir you need to visit the dealer where you have submitted your TV, and, We cant help you in this, what the hell is this response from LG customer care, I made him realise that he is working for LG then he told that he will arrange call back. Later I called once again and narrated all the story to that lady, she told she will arrange a call back. Thank God that I got a call from LG but now they started with new story which clearly shows that they are cheating openly to the people. When I called in the morning and asked regarding the status of my TV, LG customer care people they told part is not available so it will take some more time. But after an hour I get a call saying that sir your LCD has problem as we are testing on your TV but there is problem in display. Now here we can see clearly, that from main office they are saying part is pending, and from Hospet dealer they are telling that, Sir motherboard we received and testing on it but there is a problem in LCD and it will be fixed with a charge of Rs: 24,000/- extra. If they tell us that its going to cost you more in which we can go for other options by dropping the idea of getting this tv repaired. This is so cheap activity done by you people to grab money or to drop the issue. If you people really need money/dont want to support then try to get it by earning with trust but not by cheating the innocent people, its our hard-earned money we spend on buy expensive gadgets by trusting giant companies. Now I am requesting you again to the experienced/some qualified engineer to look into the issue and solve it. Really LG is stepping back from giving services. Its really gonna affect the brand. I was promoter for the company but you people are making me to go for worst condition... If this is condition for few more customers then soon it is gonna be in helpless situation. I dont know what kind of engineers LG is hiring not capable to repair a simple issue then what for they hire a so-called qualified developers.

Dont buy this refrigerator! 2 months after purchasing the freezer stopped working, the food thawed out, then it randomly started working again. The next month it started making a loud buzzing/drilling noise on and off the entire day. Its so annoying, you dont want to be in the same room! LG said, its in defrost mode, your ice is too full! Took their advice and nothing changed. Home Depot says they cant do anything until its been serviced by LG three times. LG is sending out a tech but even if they fix it Im stuck with a defective product that I still have to pay full price for! I want a partial refund or a replacement but neither will do this, I just have taken another day off of work and continue making the payments! I wish I would have done my research. I now see online that many others have had the same problems with this product. Take my advice, dont waste your $ on this product!

My refrigerator has been a nightmare since the day I bought it. A month into the purchase the freezer drawer would not pull out. No big deal. The repairman came and fixed it. Recently, however, was the worst when I walked downstairs on Christmas night and heard dripping water and found it coming from the ceiling of the bedroom-right underneath the fridge. At midnight my grandchildren and I we were unloading food into our cheap garage fridge which we paid about $300 for and has never given us an ounce of trouble! This occurrence was another water line that goes to the ice dispenser. My LG is 5 years old and this is the second time this has happened. It has ruined my wood floors for the second time. I have to replace baseboard for the second time. I have to replace sheetrock for the second time. But this time I have to replace my beautiful cabinetry in my kitchen and that is almost impossible to match and will be a major expense. The first time the repairman came he told me LG uses cheap tubing that cracks over time (less than two years). He replaced one tube, but evidently not the other, hence the second major leak. The tubing cost around $12 to replace, less the house call for the repairman. Now can anyone tell me why LG cant put a piece of decent tubing on the back of the refrigerator in the first place. It would save so many people so much grief, so much money and so much time. Come on LG, cant you put out an appliance that would make people happy rather than cost them a fortune in house repair? For an extra $12? Really? You cant spare a $12 profit to make a decent appliance? Remember, Life is Good, until your LG refrigerator leaks through your wood floors and sheetrock - twice.

I bought a top loading washing machine (no agitator in November 2013). The first week I washed a pillow and it shredded it and any towels to pieces. I called Home Depot and they said I had to deal with LG. A repair person came out and determined that the plastic rim around tub needed to be replaced. I wanted LG to replace my washer and they said NO. They told me that I had to have repair people out 3 times for same issue before they would consider replacing it. The plastic rim got replaced and the washer continued to shred clothes. The next repair person came out and found sharp edges in bottom of tub that have been ripping clothes. He then contacts LG and they say that this not covered under warranty. The repair will cost $800 (which is more than I paid for the washer!). The repair guy told me to only wash clothes on Bulky bedding setting so that clothes will less likely shred because it uses the most water. The following month I had a loss in the family and gave up trying to deal with LG. So for the past 4 years I have been using this washer only on Bulky bedding setting and throwing out a piece of shredded clothing about every other wash. The washer never cleans well, my whites are always dull and makeup never washes out of washcloths. The top latch also broke and I have to hold the lid down for a while before it will start. For past two weeks I have been getting a an error message that my brother who works on washing machines could not fix. It will not drain/spin. My brother took the back of the washer off to see if he could help and there was tons of pillow stuffing and shredded clothing pieces from the very first week of having this machine! LG says all repairs are up to me and there is nothing they can do. I will NEVER buy anything LG again!

Another 3 years to the day just shut down, stopped cooling!! We had the extended warranty. 5 days to get a repairman...was told it was compressor. They would submit for a claim. Work was denied by warranty, too expensive. So they tried to get a local repairman and he said he does not work on LG refrigerators. They are not fixable, SOOO we are out 3,600 for a 3-year-old fridge. Oh warranty wanted money upfront to order part from Korea that would take weeks!!! No LG, never again!!!

LG WaveForce TrueBalance anti-vibration system Model #WT5101HV, Product Cod
LG WaveForce TrueBalance anti-vibration system Model #WT5101HV, Product Code #T1309ADFH6.ASSEEUS. Bought washer & matching dryer 11/27/2010 with 5 year extra warranty on both. Three years of hell! Large-capacity washer that simply WILL NOT BALANCE, but will instead of sounding a buzzer that it is OFF BALANCE, will just restart the countdown timer as it REFILLS with WATER and starts the rinse cycle... again and again and again. Found out the hard way one time 5 hours later that it was still restarting the rinse cycle because it could not balance itself, yet it had never once sounded with the buzzer. Yes, the buzzer can work on occasion, but the load has to be very off balance. When I first got it and the countdown timer reset and the rinse cycle started again, I mistook that it was just part of the machines normal operation, but there is nothing normal for the waste of water and the amount of time I spend standing in front of the washer trying to catch it before it resets AND the amount of time I spend rearranging the load to try and balance it in the tub to the machine balance sensors satisfaction... up to 30 minutes at a time moving heavy wet clothes around or removing them by hand to place one on this side and one on that side... endless aggravation. Even if I use the lowest spin and step it up to the highest spin, it will not balance. If you dont use the highest spin cycle (or step up from low to high) it takes nearly 2 hours to dry clothes on the 2nd highest spin cycle. The factory recall notice that I received was merely an insult to the problem because it does not address the ACTUAL issue -- which is that it will not balance. Instead, the recall wants to tell me not to wash raincoats or such nonsensical how to or not to use the machine properly. It will not balance with: ONLY pants or ONLY shirts or ONLY towels or ONLY pajamas. The bigger the load in this large-capacity washer, the bigger the balance problem. If I wash a tiny load like socks, it might actually finish the load all by itself once-in-a-while, but why have a LARGE-CAPACITY washer if it is useless? If you mix shirts and pants, be prepared to untangle the biggest wet knots you have ever seen! I stopped using the low-water features a long time ago when my clothes did not clean properly, so I now use the Bulky/Bedding setting, which fills the tub with water. When I used the low-water features, the balance problem was exactly the same. I always keep the door open when not in use, so it does not stink itself up and requires special tub cleaning. I have only had to clean it once. Since the normal way this company has responded to the myriad of consumer complaints is even more impossible than dealing with the product, I see no reason to play their game of endless service calls when NO SERVICEMAN CAN POSSIBLY REDESIGN A FLAWED APPLIANCE. I have not heard of any service call fixing this models problems. I bought a 5-year service policy with 2 years left. This machines design is a lemon, so where is the companys restitution to us consumers? I dont want the upgraded software because it takes away wash settings and spin RPMs that I bought in the first place. A recall that is stone-cold useless and removes some original wash (gentle) and spin (extra high) variations is their restitution, so consumer take heed.

After reading all these reviews, and after my own experience, I am very surprised, that this company is still on market. I bought my french door refrigerator LFX31945ST on July 2014 from Home Depot. On October 2014 it stopped working for a first time. Er rF code appeared. Called LG, they sent a technician. He showed me that ice build up behind the rear panel and blocked fan. He blamed us (or whoever installed the fridge) for not removing the plastic foil from the rear, which could cause this problem. Exactly after one year in October 2015 the same problem - first fan started making noise, and after two days eR rF code. Called LG (thanks God, I bought extended warranty), technician came, replaced few parts, said everything should be OK. Since then, literally every month we had this pattern - fan noisy - eR rf code, technician replaced some parts (I get lost what he replaced), said everything now should be fine, next month fan noisy....etc, etc. Finally, when I started demanding money back and mentioned that next time my lawyer will talk with you, they sent a third company, who following instruction on the phone from, I guess, LG, altered some settings, and in November 2016 they fixed it. Refrigerator worked over the year without any problems. We hoped our problems are over. Not so fast! In July 2018 refrigerator stopped cooling, no error code appeared, just we see the water one morning and thawed food. Called HOME Depot, they sent LG technician, who said that everything with the refrigerator is OK, and it got defrost because we did not close the door properly (!). OK, we believed in that, especially since this one morning refrigerator seemed to work OK. Not so long, after ~ four weeks again the same. Again, LG technician said we did not close the door properly, and we put too much food (!!). Home Depot protection plan refused to cover spoiled food, because technician did not find any failure. OK, that was enough, I started very closely monitoring temperature inside, and noticed that it is consistently higher than it should be (nearly room temperature in refrigerator compartment, and around 34F in the fridge. OK, called Home Depot third time. They sent a third company. After two weeks or so, several cancelled appointments, etc technician showed up and after 15 seconds staring at the refrigerator said that drainage (or something like this) needs to be replaced (very peculiar way of diagnosing). It took another month to order a part, schedule an appointment, etc, and when finally he appeared with part, he said that refrigerator is not fixable. The same day I got the phone call from Home Depot that they will send LG technician to confirm this diagnosis. The same LG technician appeared and said that compressor needs to be replaced. Again, waiting two weeks (only two weeks) for part, and refrigerator was fixed in October 2018. Two weeks ago fan started making noise, and today morning eR rF code appeared. Called Home Depot this morning...To sum up: when Home Depot protection plan expires I will throw away this piece of junk and buy new one, from different manufacturer. I will do may best to get my money back from LG or Home Depot, because in my opinion this fridge was inherently broken from the beginning. I will closely watch what is going on with that class action. STAY AWAY FROM LG REFRIGERATOR, otherwise you will soon write review similar to mine and hundreds of others on this webpage.

French door in door refrigerator with ice dispenser - I bought this refrigerator from Frys Electronics about a year and half ago and it worked like a champ during the warranty period but while we still joying and dancing being too happy with our purchase and as if there was a timer inside this thing and just right after the warranty was over things began to fall apart one thing after another. I bought this refrigerator for about $2100 and so far it did cost me $1185 for repairs because as it turn out the parts were covered but not the labor. LG customer service stunk the high heaven as they were not able to replace the lemon that I fell for. For the rest of my life, Ill never buy anything made by LG.

Based on my research, LG seemed to have the highest rating on all of their appliances and they last longer. They seemed to be the best product out there. It has been less than a year since I bought my refrigerator but I have another LG refrigerator. We just purchased the house, and it has one in it. The ice maker is not a very big one though and it just has a little door insert ice maker. So, it does not produce enough ice for us. The refrigerator is not but two years old and it broke. It took about five weeks before it was repaired. Then, my washer took three weeks to be repaired. The washing machine and the refrigerator are two items that you need immediately in a household. I was so dissatisfied. The parts had to be ordered but it’s not so much LG but the people that they use to repair their stuff. It’s something that they need to look into because when they have crappy service, then the product gets a crappy reputation.

I purchased a LSC27921SW from my local SEARS a few years back. The front left door ice and water dispenser opening area under the drip tray is now rusting under white paint. I spoke to LG corporate office twice and was promised a return email or call which never came. I requested to speak to the corporate manager CEO and I was denied. I have never had a refrigerator do this and of course after the warranty was up I was careless about keeping my receipt handy so now I have nothing but the evidence of the damage to my refrigerator. We purchased LFC25760SB Refrigerators in July 2007. It has been working just fine until recently. We noticed the lights were out on the Refrigerator section and when I removed the cover to see what size and shape they were, the light bulbs were very hot. We purchased a brand new LG refrigerator in July of 2015... At the time I did a fair amount of research and reviews on the brand and the model (French Door, Bottom Freezer), and all reviews were over 4/5 stars. We paid $2400 for a device that lasted less than 18 months. Fast-forward 13 months later (conveniently 1 month after the we cover everything part of their warranty ended), and the fan began to make a loud noise. A few days later, our fridge was no longer cooling, and on the digital panel we received a fan motor error code.We had purchased a 5 year major appliance warranty from Lowes... After 3 repairs in one weekend (each time the fridge went about 2 hours prior to it producing the same error code), followed by a separate service provider who had to order parts (and hasnt returned in over two weeks), we still do not have a working refrigerator. LG is a PoS company producing horrible quality appliances -- each service provider told us to never again buy an LG or Samsung appliance... Theyre made to last up to 7 years, but many appliances dont even make it two years at this point.

Well, it seems that every time I turn around now something goes wrong with my machine (LG washer). At first, I thought it was the best investment ever. After the warranty expired, it seemed that the rubber that goes in front of the machine that seals the door closed has a slit on it. New part would be around $100.00 plus labor. It seems that we need to have someone out here all the time. We just had it repaired because the computer needed to be reset. We have had it serviced 4 times. LG will get sued when someone dies from a knob being turned on accidentally. I’m surprised it hasn’t already happened. It happens all the time. Especially when friends/family are over. How could LG think was a good design? Was there no testing? Were they 3 feet tall? Also the burner disc discolor and never clean up. The super burner stains on the silver and you can’t get it clean. Bought this and the microwave you can’t see into without a stool. And it’s still hard to see in. LG, you dropped the ball here, learn from those mistakes. NOT recommended.

After reading the reviews here, I realize I am not alone. We bought our LG oven prior to buying the LG dishwasher.... a few years apart. Initially, I did not have any real problems with the stove/oven EXCEPT that the control panel cracked shortly after we got it, like a month. Fine, everything else was working. We let it go. BUT, now we are having serious issues & of course, they all came to the surface right before this holiday season. Just before Thanksgiving, the stovetop burner would not turn off. I thought it was just my husband being an idiot as he was rushing out of the house making a Jambalaya for the Giants’ pregame tailgate. However, it turns out he wasnt making it up.... It was hot for a long time and would not turn off. HS, hot surface, was the code but the burner was glowing bright red as if it were on HIGH. Took forever to clean that pan. My Le Creuset no less. Then after that, the oven started burning everything and cooking things funny. Burnt on the outside and mushy, undercooked on the inside. Last night, I tried again to use oven.... F-9 error came up. I turned it on and off. Yes, that was my solution in the moment. Now I see that the ovens with that specific warning are a SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD. The ovens catch fire from the malfunctions according to other reviewers. This is shocking and a real issue. I have 3 kids. Honestly, I cant believe Home Depot carries LG after reading all these other accounts of LG breaking down & just not working. So, no holiday cookies or turkey this holiday season b/c my oven that is LESS than 4 years old malfunctioned & is a piece of crap!!!!!!! No food memories with my kids that you daydream about, look forward to with holidays approaching. Nope! Hopes and dreams dashed by LG. And forget about getting a repairperson to come to work on LG. I called several places in the area, and they practically hung up on me when I said I had an LG. As the previous reviewers noted, repair must be done by certified LG contractor. Finally had Ultra Wiz (recommended through LG consumer support) came to take care of the LG dishwasher, which I stupidly bought not realizing LG sucks. The LG dishwasher is quite possibly the worst dishwasher I have ever had. Pretty much had problems with it after 6 months. Within 18 months now, I have had the dishwasher serviced 3x. Ridiculous. As I write this, I am on hold with LG begging for a refund for the stove but that will probably only happen when hell freezes over. Nope, as usual... They say I have to pay for repair and then my case will be presented for evaluation by said mystery higher up. So, I have to spend more money on junky LG product to even get consideration for a refund.... I would take half of what I spent on the stove at this point and put it towards a product that actually works. The only reason I am not stark raving mad is b/c we are about to renovate our current kitchen, and I am getting new appliances anyway. BUT STILL LG is horrid. Never again will I recommend, let alone, buy another single LG product. NEVER. I wish we could ban together and sue LG. Btw, the CEO Bon-Joon Koo is worth 840 million! No wonder he looks so happy in all the photos.

Purchased in late 2011 as part of a range, fridge, microwave, dishwasher package deal from appliance warehouse. This is the third time Ive had to call for service and pay $60 charge each time on my homeowners warranty policy. The usual problem is burners that dont turn on and in the past, only a few would go out at a time, leaving me a workable burner or two. This time all are out and now the broiler is also down -- only the oven is working now. One service tech said the cables inside the panel were loose. How that happened, I don’t know because the range doesnt get jostled or moved around a lot. Another complaint within the first six months of purchase is an inside drip between the oven door double paned glass but Ive lived with ugly mess because the service tech couldnt fix it without taking the entire range to the shop for a week. But wait -- theres more LG product problems! The side-by-side door fridge problems have also cost me three service calls ($60 each). The icemaker frequently goes on strike for several months at a time and then on its own starts working again. Of course, this renders the ice dispenser constipated and totally useless. The cold water dispenser has the opposite problem and is often incontinent it keeps spewing water for several seconds after the drinking glass is removed.I believe LG must stand for Least Good and the range model number LRE30453ST must stand for Least Reliable Electric ** Stoves Terrible. I will never again purchase another LG appliance and recommend that other buyers also shop for another brand.

I love everything about my LG refrigerator. I Iove the dual doors. I love my my meat and cheese storage, the freezer size. Open doors, ice maker, freezer features, sub door for milk condiments, juice, etc. The ice maker choice of ice size. It makes me feel as if Im in the lap of luxury. It is the best refrigerator I have ever owned. I love the crisper. My fruits and vegetables stay fresh. My cheese and meat stays crisp. It spoils me. I would never change the fruit and vegetable bins. The storage size, the freezer space of different levels. Everything.

We bought our LG fridge from Best Buy about 4 years ago. Earlier this week our compressor stopped working. We lost the entire freezer and fridge of food. After calling the company and spending more than one hour on the phone they scheduled an appointment for me within 2 days and told me not to worry. It was under warranty. I waited home all day on the scheduled appointment from 12-5 and no one came. When I called the company supposedly coming, they told me they had no record of an appointment at my home. Upon calling LG back they said sorry this appointment was never actually confirmed but since everyone is closed, you call some service providers and we will pay them if they can come. No one will come, they all laugh at me and tell me that LG will never pay them and that it will take upwards of 8 weeks to even get an appointment with them. Ive now called LG back two more times, they made an appointment, confirmed an appointment and subsequently when calling that service company, they report they never received that confirmation so again they did not show up. This will be my 5th phone call upwards of 60 minutes on each and all they can offer me is $250 for loss of food. They are not willing to offer anything else to help out with possibly going 8 weeks without a fridge. To say this is disappointing is a huge understatement. I will never buy another LG appliance.

I bought the LG set about 11 months ago. For the first month it operated like a dream. Then it started leaving residue on my dark clothes...looks like streaks of lint or undissolved detergent. I have changed detergents, added less or more, used large loads and small ones, and nothing helps. I have to wash the load a second and sometimes third time without detergent to get it clean. Another problem is that if I wash anything with my darks that is even slightly lighter than black or brown, the dark dye is transferred to the clothes and ruins them. I have done the same thing for years with other machines without problems, but this one for some reason causes the dyes to transfer. I think both problems are caused by too little water being used. Have finally lost patience and will start the never ending cycle of service calls, I guess. I dont recommend this product. It does NOT save water.

Purchased stove LRG3097ST/00 in 2011/2012 at Sears. Stove broiler began coming on automatically at odd times (6pm, 1am, 3am, 7pm, etc..) some 6 weeks ago. Since then, we had the warranty servicer out to repair four (4) times. Twice had parts shipped in. The last time, the parts arrived damaged. What a mess. Stove sits unplugged from electrical outlet and gas valve shut off. Thank goodness, I had the forethought of purchasing an extended warranty on this new brand. This past Friday, we received some type of authorization (number) to purchase a replacement stove. I have been reading reviews and will not pick LG, and Kenmores will be carefully scrutinized for quality. Still have an LG refrigerator bought the same time, so waiting to see what happens with it in the coming months. Already having door closure issues. Will not buy anything made in Mexico.

I bought an LG gas range model LRG30355ST at Home Depot sometime in 2009, and all the five knobs are all cracked and can no longer be adjusted to low or high. The cost of these knobs are exorbitant and almost costs around 1/3 of the total cost of the gas range. These companies should not be allowed to manufacture substandard parts for their products at the expense of the consumers. Whether they do this on purpose to generate additional revenues, we dont know. But something should be done and shift the responsibility back to companies like LG and make them pay or correct them at no cost to the consumers. Like others, I will no longer buy LG products and will spread the word that LG products are not quality products.

We bought a LG Front Loader from Lowes Canada Sept 2009. We bought the washer and dryer same day and pedestals. Did a load like I do daily, went out for 20mins and came home to the washer face down on my cement floor. Took out my dryer on way down. Smashed door, cant close door now, door latch broken, front panel caved in, metal damage on both washer and dryer. 3 Struts all broken inside. Our Piping was pulled from our wall and all cracked and damaged. Why would this do a face plant after 5yrs? I have emails and phone calls into LG, awaiting some response. Terrible:(

We purchased an LG refrigerator; it has French doors and with a bottom freezer. Shortly after it was installed, the freezer started accumulating ice. We had it repaired several times because the electronic circuits were defective, and the problem recurred. LG refuses to take responsibility for the problem even though they have re-designed the circuit board at least ten times. My repairman told me that they have this problem since the refrigerator came to the market. I have paid hundreds of dollars in service calls, and the last time I spoke to their customer service department I was met with complete indifference. I was told that there was nothing they could do for me. Another issue is with this unit is poorly designed; it has a very flimsy hardware for the crisper drawers that keep coming off the rails. That issue was also not acknowledged.

This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a war
This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a warning to prospective customers. I have owned my LG washer for about three years now. It has True Balance, a feature that consumes water in an attempt to balance the load. The washer is absolutely level. However it rarely completes a load because True Balance is unable to get the load balanced enough to get through the spin cycle. So I have to turn the water off. Balance it by hand. Then maybe it will get through the cycle. Often the items are too soaked to put in the 30-year old Kenmore dryer. So I have to hang them.My water bill has increased 25% since getting the washer. Have complained to LG. Initially they told me to level the washer. Now they just ignore me. Apparently because I (a person who has tested at a mechanical level in the upper 2% of the population) am unable to level a washer. I was however able to rebuild the Kenmore Dryer twice to keep that running. Thats not a recommendation of Kenmore because Kenmore isnt Kenmore anymore.

Bought a Kenmore Elite French Door Refrigerator 795.74032.411 in July 2015
Bought a Kenmore Elite French Door Refrigerator 795.74032.411 in July 2015 and really regret that decision. Less than 30 day after the 1 year warranty expired, got an error code indicating there was a bad control board or fan. Tech replaced the fan was first and that did not fix the issue, so then control board. Reading on line reports, this was a known issue with the LG control board. So $350 later, it was working again. Then a few month later, the ice maker started icing up. Turns out that the waterline running into the door has a know issue also. So tech had to order a new door (over $500) and with labor, total cost was over $850 for that failure. About a year later, started hearing a loud noise when a fan kicked on. This turned out to be a bad fan behind the rear panel in the refrigerator section. That was a $200 dollar repair (parts and labor).Shortly after that repair, the same fan started making noise again. This time the housing around the fan had shifted because of tension being place on the housing that way it is installed, making contact with the fan blades. Tech was able to readjust the housing to not touch the fan blades. But another $100 service charge. Now the Sealed System is out. The Sealed System is under warranty, but very hard to find anyone to do the repair. Sears is coming out next week, but the warranty only covers the parts. So labor will be $99 just to get them to look at it. The tech that looked at it yesterday (another $100 charge), indicates it likely the compressor, but he was not allowed to replace parts covered by warranty. Said I had to contact a Sears or LG for warranty repairs.

I’m writing this review so that hopefully other consumers won’t make th
I’m writing this review so that hopefully other consumers won’t make the same mistake I made by buying this LG refrigerator. I bought this refrigerator on 5/6/13 at Famous Tate in Brandon, Fl, and paid $2545 for it—my very first “modern”, expensive fridge. This is Model # LF X 319455T/02 (stainless steel French Door). I’ve had nothing but trouble with it since the beginning, and after reading all these reviews, I can see that I am clearly not the only one.The food has gone bad periodically over the last 5 years, resulting in my having to throw stuff out quite often. I confess that I actually ate food that I probably shouldn’t have, and for someone with an autoimmune condition who MUST have fresh fruits and vegetables to survive, this is completely unacceptable. There had been water accumulating in the refrigerator for a long time, and a few months ago there was water all over the left hand side of the bottom shelf as well as all over the floor. I immediately called LG to discuss the problem, and rather than pay them in advance for one of their techs to come here, I paid a technician from Mr. Appliance to come here. He may not have been an authorized LG technician, but he was highly trained and extremely knowledgeable about these LG french door refrigerators. By the way, most repair technicians in my area refuse to even work on LG appliances. That should tell you something!!The guy (Ron) who came to my house determined that the automatic ice maker was causing the problem, and he literally showed me how this one defective part always malfunctions in these models. He further explained that eventually the compressor will probably go out. The replacement part has a heater built into it that supposedly will prevent this problem from occurring, but between parts and labor, it would cost me over $500. That day he enlightened me about a lot of things, and after doing extensive research, I found out that everything he told me that day was true. For instance, I found out that LG has known about this manufacturer’s defect for years, and yet continues to manufacture new models with the same defective part. Sounds very shady and evil to me. Nevertheless, I was going to agree to the repair whether Ron did it or LG (for a slight discount), but then decided against investing more money into this piece of crap.Instead, I bought new water and fresh air filters, and tried to remember to empty the ice container periodically. I should mention that I have NEVER personally used the water dispenser or the ice maker, but I thought it would be nice to have it for any guests who occasionally come over. That being said, for the last few months, the fridge seemed to work ok—not great, but ok. Then the last few weeks there was more water accumulating inside food containers. I just wiped them out, threw more rotten food out, and just put up with it. There’s also a strange discoloration on the touchscreen panel as well as a stainless steel finish looking like it’s peeling off. Clearly very cheaply made. It’s interesting that they charge a premium price for a cheaply made product. Don’t get me started on the faulty design which has its own set of problems. So, on Monday night (7/30/18) or technically Tuesday 12:30 am (8/31/18), the fridge started making an extremely loud noise. There was water everywhere and everything in the freezer had defrosted. I immediately called LG (they do answer the phone 24/7), and was instructed to turn off the breaker to the fridge. I did that, and at least that stopped the noise. I also dumped out the ice container in order to prevent matters getting worse. The representative told me that according to the schedule, a service tech. most likely would be able to come out Friday and for me to call back at 8:00 am to confirm. Obviously I’d have to pay $125 in advance plus pay the service tech for any additional labor. I explained to her that I now have to clean up the huge mess, try to salvage what food I can, and that I’m very ill, 80 lbs and need to be properly nourished to stay alive.I asked her how I’m expected to live without a refrigerator for 4-5 days and probably much longer after ordering parts and having the tech come back to complete the repair. She had absolutely no response for me. I did call back later that morning, paid $125, and scheduled the tech. to come to my house on Friday. Meanwhile I drove to the convenience store in the middle of the night, bought 4 bags of ice and went home to start the cleanup process. I worked all night long using the wet vac, taking everything out of the fridge and freezer, throwing lots of stuff away, and putting whatever food I thought worth saving into coolers with ice. I thoroughly dried the inside of the fridge and freezer, and then proceeded to clean and sterilize. Needless to say, I never slept having worked tirelessly throughout the night. Needless to say I was utterly exhausted.Due to the dire emergency I was in, I sent messages to 7 people on Craigslist and Next Door desperate to get a fridge delivered to me ASAP. The LG repair tech (Sonny) called me later that day and instructed me to turn the fridge back on, and said that he could come here on Saturday-not Friday. Fortunately, that horrible noise never came back on, so that at least was a relief. He proceeded to explain to me that from what I told him, it sounds like a very complex problem, and that his labor would be very intensive, and it could cost me over $1,000 between parts and labor regardless of the compressor being covered under the 10 year warranty. He honestly didn’t think it was worth fixing, and suggested I buy another fridge. We’ve talked several times in the last few days, and he has reiterated that I need to purchase another fridge ASAP. He clearly didn’t want to come here and told me to call LG and cancel the appt.I’ve also been on the phone with LG multiple times in the last 4 days for hours complaining about the situation to no avail. LG representatives in the Philippines are very nice, but there’s a huge communication problem, and it’s beyond frustrating trying to get my point across. I kept getting put on hold, transferred to various individuals, and no one seemed to understand a word I said. All of this massive stress compounded by 4 days of virtually no sleep has comprised my health even more. This entire ordeal has been an absolute nightmare, and I’m outraged that someone can very casually say “Oh well, just go buy another fridge” after I spent over $2500 on what I thought (confirmed by the sales guy) would be a state of the art refrigerator that would last for years. Boy did that turn out to be wrong. I agree with what the rest of you said about LG.I will NEVER buy another LG appliance, and advise everyone else to avoid this brand like the plague. Not surprisingly, I’ve found my brand new LG front loader to be quite frustrating. What a joke “LG Life’s Good”. Life is anything but good when you have an LG appliance. More like a nightmare. I deserve to be compensated for all the food I’ve lost and continue to lose as well as the toll this has taken on my health. Not to mention countless hours on the phone with LG and the hours it has taken me to write this complaint. The abhorrent way in which LG manufactures their products and provides service is nothing short of unconscionable, and I really hope we can all get appropriately compensated for what we’ve had to endure.

I purchased my LG Range in the hopes LG products would live up to the hype!
I purchased my LG Range in the hopes LG products would live up to the hype! In fact I bought all LG appliances. To my disappointment only the washer and dryer have lived up to my expectations. Anyways on to the range. My range was purchase in 2009 and the knobs became loose and wobbly by 2011. However, I kept using them until they completely broke off. After speaking with customer service and explaining the defect they reluctantly sent me out a brand new supposedly updated model of the knobs with the defect fix... WRONG!Fast forward to 2016 present day my knobs are loose, wobbly, and a couple have broken off. I called customer service and they tell me because they already sent out the updated knobs in 2014 they could no longer replace them. I explained it was a manufacturers defect and the knobs they sent out were the same defective knobs. The rep transferred me to Executive Services Corporate Office where I spoke to Jewel. She was very rude and short with me, continually stating Its our policy that we cant send out any more knobs and gave me the parts ordering department so I could pay for a set myself. She even went as far to blame me for the broken knobs saying that maybe I was using the oven wrong and she doesnt live in my house so she cant verify that Im telling the truth that the knobs are defective. She was cold and had no interest in hearing my side of the story. Basically she told me I need to eat the $150 cost of replacing the knobs every two years! Which clearly exceeds the cost of the range! She even hung up on me because I asked her questions she refused to answer because she knew it would expose LG as a fraudulent company that doesnt stand behind their product. I called back and spoke with Erica who was very nice and said she would forward the complaint. For now it looks like Ill have to eat the cost of the new set and repair the factory defect with a fix I found on YouTube which involves fitting a brass tube over the knob post. I hope we can win this battle against LG! Clearly the knob design is very poor engineering on LGs part or just too cheap to use aluminium instead of chrome plated plastic!

Ill come back and replace it, so like I said before everything looks nice although this guy is honest so far. He came back ten days later. I wasnt in home. My wife let him do the job. He spend 15min to replace the pump. Wow this guy is awesome. Finished fast and good worked supported. In the following days we know if something is wrong with the machine, softener stays doesnt go away. We call LG again. They said if a tech come to our house again we will pay for it, I totally refused to pay anything if we still have our warranty. Anyways they send another guy from APEX APPLIANCE SERVICE, GUESS WHAT HAPPEN NEXT. This second tech find out the LG guy never replace the water pump and LG tech DAVID ** sabotage our machine cutting the wires. This way our machine will never show codes anymore.Apex tech pass the information about what happen to LG and again when I called LG they dont have any info about it. Looks like they cover each other. I dont know exactly. ANYWAYS, if I describe all terrible time what happens to get my machine fixed will take me more than 24 hrs to do it, anyways if you already purchased any LG items youre **... Just watch out for this guy DAVID **. If your machine is broke or if its another tech from LG be on him make sure he fixed your expensive machine. LG COMPANY IS A NIGHTMARE. Here I find myself reporting ANOTHER problem with our LG refrigerator that cost almost $3000. Its the three door with the freezer door on the bottom and is supposed to be wonderful because it has a linear something or other. The freezer compressor lasted just over one year. The labor warranty had expired and the compressor was covered. It still cost me $450 for the repair. Now, about one year later, the freezer has stopped working two more times with all the frozen food thawing. Curiously, after the food thaws, the motor starts working again. This happened to me again today. Fortunately, I have an old reliable Kenmore backup in the garage. I think that LG does not deserve another customer. Expect problems from them if you dare buy one. They should definitely be OOB. OUT OF BUSINESS!

Purchased LG Smooth Top Model LRE30463T January 2010. Since purchase clicking sound when baking and using smooth top at same time. Had service repair done under warranty and reset oven control temp. This continued and in December the large top burner stopped completely. Contacted LG and was told it was not covered under their 5 year warranty unless it was a burned out element but even at that we were responsible for service call and labor. Contacted a service rep and was checked and told it was the main board. LG website was down so he contacted us today to inform us that total cost would be almost $500.00. We paid over $1000 for this stove in 2010. 3 years of problems and nothing we can do but junk it, buy a new stove or continue to use with 3 burners. LG is junk. Value is worthless. Never again. Will go back to Whirlpool.

I have never been more appalled and disgusted with a company and customer service in my life. Last night while doing laundry, my LG electric dryer of the last 4 year, the cord connecting in the back of the dryer caught fire and melted. Thank goodness we were home and the dryer shut off with no further damage to the house other than the wire and casing in the back of the dryer completely melting. I called the customer service line to let them know what happened and the lady sounding like she was reading from a manual telling me that I had to set up a service call which I understood. Then she tells me that I have to pay over $275 upfront for repairs before they will send anyone out. I told her that the malfunction was not my fault that there is a defect in the product and she said unfortunately unless I pay upfront they can not send anyone out. I told her to send someone out and if the repairman somehow found us at fault we would pay then, but before he came out to look at it. How do you charge someone for a repair that they havent even seen yet to know what needs to be fixed. How do you charge someone upfront for a repair that was a manufacturers defect? A defect that could have burnt my house down or worse killed my entire family had we been sleeping. For safety measures I had an electrician come out to the house the very next day to ensure it wasnt an electrical issue on my end and he even said its wasnt anything from the house end, that it was an internal issue with the dryer.

I purchased the LG HE top loader (machine # WT 4801CW) in December 2011. It has never effectively cleaned a single load of clothes. Shirts come out of the wash still smelling of perfume/cologne; sheets come out with large dry spots where they never got wet. Washing in cold or hot water does not matter, nor does setting the washer on the highest level for soil and the extra high level of spin speed. I do not use a clothes dryer, so I use fabric softener but the clothes are so wrinkled even if I remove them the instant the cycle stops that every single item would need to be ironed. Even when washing very small loads (one pair jeans, 2 shirts, 2 pairs socks) there are dry spots on the clothes until the final rinse cycle, so they are obviously not getting clean. This machine will not remove any stain at all, no matter how minor. It also takes over 60 minutes to wash one load and has increased the number of loads I do a week despite having a much larger capacity than my previous washer. Luckily, when we bought it at Best Buy, they provided a 30-day return policy. My new washer will arrive this weekend. Im back to a front load Frigidaire, which is what I had before. I never had a single complaint about that machine. It lasted 18 years and never had a single service call, cleaned every single thing we ever put in it, and was very inexpensive to operate as well as having a much more reasonable price than anything else we saw on the market.

I’ve owned this stove for approx 1 1/2 years and in this time my roommate and I have nearly burned the house down TWICE. The knobs are SO easy to accidentally bump and turn on. The first time I had a bag on top of the stove and luckily noticed before it started flaming, but my roommate started an actual full on fire last night with a basket of laundry. I’ve since taken the knobs off, but have read other reviews of people who have done the same, but that bumping the stems actually turns the burners on easier than if the knobs were in place???‍♀️ Ordered some child proofing so we’ll see how that works. No issues with cooking, but it’s NOT worth the risk!

I purchased an LG computerized washer from Home Depot that has a big label that says 10 years, which is no guarantee of anything. The washer worked 3 years and the $450 power supply went out. No more computerized washers for me. They are pretty, but I will take the simple old models with knobs and mechanical parts without the fancy very expensive to repair computer parts from now on. My washer before it lasted over ten years. My expensive LG is in my shed. I cannot bear to put on the curb something I paid that much for. I now have a used washer that I paid $100 for the washer/dryer pair that work just fine. They are Roper models. I only recommend the LG gamble to people who have more money than they need and money to throw away.

Spoke with a rep over the phone and Live Chat, neither were worth 1 star. Sorry I ever bought their product but the takeaway from this is, I can boycott their product and spread the word. If you want a product that works, stay away from LG! I bought the washer through Best Buys online service. Best Buys receipts fade after 6 months and are not readable. Best Buy could see the purchase online but couldnt print the order, therefore according to LG, there isnt a valid proof of purchase. While I am very disappointed in the Best Buys ability to print a receipt, at least they were willing to give their contact information and the Best Buy order number so that LG could contact them to validate the purchase. LG would not contact the manager at Best Buy to discuss. At that point, Live Chat ended the chat. Customer Service, a lost art!

Technician never got a tool out, didnt measure a temperature, didnt remove a panel, never looked behind refrigerator. Unable to diagnose a problem. Worst service experience I have ever had! Called LG again (did I mention to plan on being on hold forever!). Explained my service experience and asked for a supervisor to help me. Said supervisor would call in next three days; no one called. Called back asked for supervisor to please call me. They promised a call in two days; no one called!!! Called a 4th time and spoke to an LG consumer affairs person. They were no help. Told me to call original service technician. I then cancelled my repair contact less a $100 diagnostic fee. Strongly advise NEVER buy an LG refrigerator. They are unreliable and their technical support is horrible if you have a problem.

I had a Samsung refrigerator for about 4 years before it went bad and could not be repaired. I bought a LG and I am very pleased with it. I havent had any problem so far for three years. It runs smoothly and No ice problems. The filter is very easy to remove and replace. I would recommend the LG refrigerator.

Model WT1101CW - I was so excited when I bought our LG top loading HE washer in July 2014. I was impressed w/ the features and the fact that it was SUPPOSED to have TRUE BALANCE. What a bunch of crock! Everything was wonderful for the first year and half and then we started getting the UE error message for unbalanced loads on the spin cycle. This problem got progressively worse as time went on no matter how many times I redistributed the clothes, meticulously sorted clothes so that I only washed towels or heavy things at a time. Now I cant even get one load done in a day, b/c it keeps adding water to REBALANCE the load, or I have to stand over it to watch it spin and turn it off so it wont add more water or, constantly monitor the weight of the wet clothes, or have to run my dryer for hours to get the clothes dry b/c the clothes never fully went through a whole spin cycle and were still very wet. This machine has actually used more water, and electricity with the all day washing or extra drying.Every problem expressed by previous reviews is on point. I cant believe that I had to call customer service after ONLY 2 1/2 years of owning this appliance. PATHETIC. And customer service was joke quoting me $280-$340 for a tech to come out, after the REMOTE DIAGNOSTIC didnt DIAGNOSE the problem. This was a selling feature by the way, but required me to call during certain hours and press certain buttons. So I will NEVER buy another LG product again, and also think that I am going back to regular Agitator washing machines. This machine is NOT energy efficient, does NOT balance your clothes, and does NOT save water. All hype and NO substance!!

What a disappointment!! A few years back my husband and I purchased new LG appliances for the kitchen and also a washer and dryer - all LG products. Paid a PREMIUM price - all the bells and whistles. From day one there has been nothing but headaches with every item we purchased. From the interior finish in the oven flaking (LG and Home Depot would do NOTHING to help us. We had to purchase new range!!), to the microwave falling apart, the drying faulting out and now this horrible washing machine!! Between the mold this machine creates (yes, I leave everything open and wipe it down after each load), not always working correctly (gets confused...) now the drain motor needs to be replaced which has been estimated at $300 parts and labor!!! This is ridiculous!!! What a piece of junk and SHAME on LG and HOME DEPOT for not producing/selling reputable products and standing behind those products!! As you all know, these items are not cheap!

I’ve got 5 in my house. The oldest is 7 years old. They all work perfect. Well worth the money. I’ll never buy a different brand. Also rated very high thru many online outfits. The color, the the brightness and everything thing about them is great. My smallest is a 20 inch in my smallest bedroom. They go up in size from there. My 65 inch is the largest in my living room so I have a variety of sizes and she’s never once have I had to have them fixed. My newest one is 4 years old now almost 5. Thanks for letting me share my experience with anyone that reads this. Very satisfied customer.

The one I had was dual doors side by side with an ice maker and an insta freeze feature another feature I liked were the salad drawers that came included. My mother recommend I purchase it because it holds a lot more food than the GE I originally had the salad drawers were above all my favorite feature because Im always eating salads and it keeps my salad mix fresh. But it wasnt scratch and finger print resistant so Im constantly cleaning it plus the fact that a lot of crumbs get stuck underneath the drawers and its a pain to clean.

Wish I never bought this dishwasher. I had it fixed when it was less than a year old, replaced a plastic wheel that used to be made of metal. It made a loud screeching noise. Makes noises off and on that are LOUD. You never know when this will happen. Soap door doesnt always open. Top rack started rusting out in the second year. Was told too bad so sad, not covered, ever. When I called for service, cant remember which problem it was, there are more, was told they wouldnt come out because they were having a problem getting paid from LG. Great! Call back in a month or so, well see if they are paying their repair bills! Ok! Called LG for another extended warranty, they said no. Its up to them, and because Id already called, I guess they knew they would have to pay out on it, so they wouldnt extend it. Now I also bought the double 30 oven, and I love it!!! NO problems, its been just over two years now.

We bought all new higher end LG appliances. Dishwasher, range, refrigerator, and microwave. Fridge had a catastrophic failure at just over one year, luckily we bought the extended warranty. Then the ice maker died at about year 4. The micro broke in the first year (under warranty) and again at about year 3, (I was able to fix). The dishwashers rack rusted out at about year 2, again warranty and then the dishwasher just died at year 5 and may be too expensive to repair. The range has been problem free. The entire line of appliances appears to be inferior with regular breakdowns. Now that we are out of warranty we will replacing with different brands as things continue to die. All in all we are very dissatisfied and will never buy LG again.

Ive had LG phones with good luck, and I the look of this oven, but my previous two Whirlpool ovens performed better and were easier to clean up. The surface of this oven is for some reason hard to clean. Also, with hand washing using mild dish detergent, the print on the knobs is wearing off, and the stove is only a year and a half old. Because its considered cosmetic, and over one year old, LG will not replace the knobs. Ive never seen this happen, and at $45.00 per knob, am not pleased about having to replace them at 1 and 1/2 years. I wont be buying LG again and I wont be recommending.

LG stepped up and covered the repair even though the refrigerator was less than a year out of warranty. Extremely pleased with the response from LG. The repair was prompt and very professional, all completed at no cost. Upgraded from 1 star to 4 stars. Loosing one star due to having to publicly post before the company acted. We love our LG refrigerator and extremely happy that it is now working great again! Thank You LG!

We bought an LG washer one year ago. It started showing an error code last month. I called them, and the code is undiagnosable. For more than 4 weeks, I have been fighting the customer service department, including the team in Philippines and USA. They have absolutely zero empathy and concern for the customer. They have not been able to get my issue fixed at all. And now I am fighting with them about replacement. They seem to have a 1000 different departments for everything, and seem to be extremely poor at coordinating. Also, everything that they tell you...is pretty much a lie!! They go back on it all the time. USA team seems to be even more horrible than the Philippines team!! SO, if your appliance goes bad, you should be ready for a fight and harassment. Not to mention, take a few days/weeks off, apply for FMLA!!! You will need all your day and your emotional and mental energy to get through this.

We purchased a new LG refrigerator when we purchased our home in 2017. We had renovations going on and our right hand door was damaged/dented by a contractor. The contractor offered to replace the door so I contacted an LG recommend appliance parts and service place to replace the door. A week later they returned with a substitute that did not work so they said they would be back a couple of weeks when the correct door came in, that was October 2018 and I have been waiting ever since. All my phone calls to the appliance repair people end with them saying it still has not come in, it’s on backorder. At one point I called LG who confirmed the door is on backorder! Seriously it has been almost a year. Of course I had to pay the appliance repair person for the house call even though I told them the door needed to be replaced due to dents but they said that money would go towards the new door. At this point I am not sure I am going to get a new door. Had I realized we would receive such poor customer service I never would have gone with LG, we also purchased a 65” LG TV, and washer and dryer. I hope LG will help us with our dilemma.

It was the highest rated fridge in my price range at the time. It was also the only floor model that fit my spacial needs as well as practicality. The sales person highly recommended it and I quickly found out why. I like the ice maker. It kept temperature well, and had an amazing seal. The inside door shelf designs were amazing. The air circulation inside the refrigerator was optimal, and the freezer froze things solid in more than adequate time. The color options were limited in my area, so I opted for the white one. When my kids got the fridge dirty, some of the paint came off upon washing it.

I bought an LG French door ref. in May 2014, now is rusting on the doors. I contacted LG and they say it is not covered under warranty. They say it is cosmetic. I paid apx. $2,000.00 for it. It is the stainless steel doors that are rusting and I believe that is not cosmetic as it is the door not the look of it. They have been anything but helpful and I will never again buy, not recommend them to anyone. I have cancelled my other order for a dishwasher. I have other stainless appliances by other companies and they are older and just fine.

DO NOT BUY AN LG WASHING MACHINE!! Upon installation, our brand new top of the line front loading washing machine, LG Model # WM3470HWA, exhibited extreme water hammer noise, which resonated through our entire 2,700 sq ft home, immediately after the sensing cycle and during the filling cycle. LG Phone Tech Support recommended that our plumbing contractor (a master plumber), install water hammer arrestors (3 sets were eventually installed, in between visits from the LG 3rd party and Factory Rep). We also reduced the water pressure, even though the existing pressure setting was well within LG tolerances. he third party service rep, during a call w/ Tech Support at LG was told that the water hammer noise is intrinsic to the machines operation. In the end, after going to the very highest level of Customer Support at LG, they refused to address the problem, or stand behind the product in any way. The result... we are stuck with a inferior, defective washing machine. If you go to other blogs, you will see that this problem is quite common with LG washing machines.

Three months after buying the set, the washer started to bang and leak. We bought the extended warranty but it did no good. When I told them it sounded like the bearings were going out in it, they told me it doesnt have bearings and we caused it to leak by not keeping it clean, so I wipe it almost every time and it still leaks. They were here 3 times and never did anything about it. Our warranty is up and were stuck with a lemon. We bought it from Sears. I dont think well be shopping there anymore. Please dont buy LG washers and listen to all these people about the other appliances. None of us have money to waste on these products. Shame on LG, and Sears for selling LG.

I purchased a washer in January 2013. It started giving a UE signal and delaying the cycles. No matter the size of the load, it kept doing this. It was serviced on April 9th, 2013. It worked fine for several weeks. By June it started the same problem described above. I attempted to make a service appointment online and it keeps saying there is no service for my area!!! I chatted online with an agent and this person (Gus). He asked me for all the information and also stated there was no service for my area and that he would talk to a supervisor to call me. This has not happened (7/18/13). On Monday 7/22, I called LG and the person (Richard) told me that all I had to do was to rearrange the clothes I was washing. I told him that was not a solution and I wanted it to be replaced or money refunded. There was a lot of discussion and then he told me that a repair person (who I need to call instead of them) would charge me for the service, which I refuse to do since this is a new appliance. I went to the store I bought the washer from (HHGregg) and the store manager called LG and there was no solution to the problem. I am not willing to keep this washer giving me such hard times!!

My daughter used a microwave-safe bowl to melt chocolate in my LMC0975 LG microwave. Two seconds after she pressed Start, the interior wall of the oven caught on fire. She immediately shut the microwave oven off and unplugged it. She is staying at my place while I am away. I told her to call LG. She was told by a rep that because the warranty has expired, she has to pay someone to come and see if the issue is the magnetron, which has a 10-year warranty, or take the oven into a repair centre. This is not possible due to Corona, and I dont think we should have to pay to have it checked. This seems like a fire hazard, and I am surprised they had no other support available and did not seem to think their product catching fire was something of great concern. I would like LG to detail how they will take care of this issue for me.

I like that its a side by side with one side entirely a freezer. I like that it has an ice maker on it. It is black and has several bins & door compartments. I wish it had been cheaper and I wish the ice maker produced more ice and didnt stop working off and on. Its hard to crouch down to the very bottom of the freezer to find things. This was chosen for the color and for the financing options on price and also on the size it would fit in the necessary space we had for it to go. I would have bought a different brand when all was said and done.
