I bought an LG refrigerator, and for a while, I could ignore the occasional ice jam in the ice dispenser. After the warranty ran out, the ice machine started to freeze up weekly. I broke the container, trying to dislodge it from the door. So, I bought a new one and experienced the same freezing up problem from week one. I would not even consider buying this product, and it left me with a bad taste for the retailer (hhgreg). Can I rate it 1/2 star?

Cost was within our budget for remodeling and the style fit the other appliances in our kitchen. It also fit the dimensions of the area we allocated for the refrigerator. It was a good quality and had nice interior area to keep fruits and vegetables as well as enough space for all meats and drinks. The outside of the refrigerator matches the style of the kitchen and was easy to clean. But twirls have like to have water dispenser on the outside the refrigerator to access cold water and would have like the small door feature to not have open the full refrigerator to access simple things

We purchased an LG top-load washing machine in early Dec. We waited until Valentines Day for it to be delivered! A new machine was needed after 15 years of washing 4 athletic boys & a construction working husbands clothes! Our trusty Maytag front-load machines were going out. I wanted to buy new Maytag machines but I got talked into LG by the salesperson & fellow customers. I will just state now how truly sorry I am for being swayed into that decision because it was 1 of the worst choices Ive made. I cannot stand this machine! Im not exaggerating when I say my clothes come out of the machine dirtier than when I put them in! The clothes dont even get covered in water! I know theyre environmentally friendly, but even when you use the water plus option there should not enough water to get all the clothes wet! I have to physically get my arms in the machine & agitate the clothes.I called the store we purchased them from and of course since they are used they wont return them. I call LG, whose customer service is in a foreign country and the guy proceeds to tell me in a heavy accent that I dont know how to use the washing machine. Its user error. He didnt believe me that the clothes werent washing and continued to argue with me that I didnt read the manual. I asked what we could do to solve this problem & he told me theres nothing they can do. LG... Lifes good... NOT if you own an LG appliance! If you do buy an LG machine make sure you also buy a washboard! Youre going to need it if you want any of your laundry to be clean!

We purchased an lxsc22396s refrigerator and it stopped working within 90 days. We purchased this refrigerator on 05/24/18 (paid over $2000 for it) and on 07/23/18, it stopped dispensing water, the ice melted, it stopped cooling, and cost us over $250 of spoiled groceries. We contacted LG and they sent out a technician who perform a reset and stated that it will start working in about a week. We contacted LG again to request a loner fridge until ours starts working again. Jovy from LG told us that they cant do anything about it and we just have to wait until they fix it. Very poor customer service from LG. We also submitted a request for a refund for $250 of spoiled food. They told us that all managers were busy and would call us back later in the day. They never called us back. We havent had this refrigerator 90 days and its already giving us problems and costing us money.

We purchased this dryer from Lowes in Round Rock Texas in February 2016. It was functioning properly until about a month ago. You would hit the power button, select your cycle and hit start. It would chirp and die immediately. A tech came out, said it needed a board. He ordered it and it came in and was replaced. Worked for a day or two and did exactly the same thing. He then stated that the power from the breaker box to the plug had some sort of power fall off.I called the electrician who verified no issues with the power. The LG Tech came back, the problem was not fixed and he stated the same thing. I called the electrician back. We changed out the breaker and the plug. Everything was working as needed but the dryer still would not start once the start button was activated. The tech is coming back tomorrow to check the system. I will repost if we are not successful. For a dryer that costs $1200 this is simply unacceptable.

This washer is not a true balance washer as stated. It will pause with the UE code so I can redistribute the clothes or fill with water and try to re balance on its own adding an additional 10 min to 3 hours worth of wash time every single load. It will display UE regardless of light, medium or heavy loads. It wont even allow me to do the full tub clean option without pausing with the UE. No kidding!! I have called LG in regards to this matter and they state that the washer must not be balanced (and I assure you it is and has been checked with a level to see if I am losing my mind.) I do not understand why this washer is being sold still and not recalled. This is in regards to the LG Model WT4870CW Washer.

We upgraded our entire kitchen with LG appliances. This may end up being a deadly mistake. I am paranoid we are not going to wake up some morning. The knobs on the gas range are UNSAFE. It only takes a slight bump for either the gas to come on or the burners ignite. I cant believe LG has not done a recall on these ranges. I ordered child proof gas safety knobs to put on, but the LG knobs are too big. LG I beg you correct this before someone dies.

I purchased an LG French 3 door refrigerator May 2015 LMXS30776S. This refrigerator work 4 years until the compressor stop working. LG sent a repairman and replaced the compressor (LG paid for the replacement 10/18/19). This compressor stop working 11/18/19. Again LG sent repairman and replaced the compressor. The 3rd compressor has now lasted 10 days. LG has scheduled another repairman to come out Thursdays. This will be the the 4th compressor in 4yrs of the life of this refrigerator. LG has spend thousands of dollar on labor and parts with this applicance. This has been a issue with this company about the compressor not working properly. Why should customers go through this trouble?

Failed compressor on a 4 year old Kenmore Elite French door refrigerator. It was manufactured by LG and sold by Sears Canada. Of course I purchased the extended warranty which is now null and void after having been underwritten by now defunct Sears Canada. LG Canada basically told me to go ** myself. I am Horrified that I spent 4000$ on an LG refrigerator and LG won’t step up to make this right given the known issue of compressor failure. The repair bill is estimated to be 1000$, which I cannot afford. I’ve had to purchase an inexpensive used fridge and move a basically lightly used top of the line refrigerator to storage in hopes that LG may step up and do what is right. It is untenable that consumers are being exploited in this way and treated with such a lack of care or concern. I am thoroughly disappointed and will be pursuing every avenue to see my money returned. So far, LG has proven they are driven by profit - they are knowingly selling defective appliances to consumers. I recommend that folks avoid LG manufactured products and spend their money on appliances that are manufactured by reputable companies that will stand behind their product. Compressors should last 10-20 years. 4 years??! They are defective and LG needs to own their mistakes.

I purchase an LG french door refrigerator at Home Depot in June 2010. It has been one year and 7 months and now the refrigerator broke. It does not freeze nor cool off. I contacted LG customer care at 1800 243 000. I explained what happened. I asked to have it fixed or changed for a new one. To my surprise, they claimed they couldn’t do anything. I explained that I had purchased insurance and extended warranty. At the time of purchase, LG claimed it is not theirs and they couldn’t do anything to go back to Home Depot. I called Home Depot. They claimed they couldn’t service it yet. I have to wait almost a week before they send a technician, and they don’t replace any parts. With the game they have between Home Depot and LG, I am with no refrigerator and out of $2000.00 and $300.00 worth of market. My question as a consumer is: who is responsible for these damages? I paid almost $2000.00 for the ** refrigerator and it worked fine until their so called warranty expired. And now they don’t want to be responsible for their bad equipment. I am upset at the fact that the consumers affairs and the better business bureau would allow these companies to sell such expensive appliances which are good only until their warranty expires. I hate the way LG just bluntly told me it is not their problem and there is nothing they can do. How dare they rip off the public like that! A good refrigerator should last at least a good 10 years especially for the prices they are being sold to the public. I paid the price they ask for. How dare they rip off the consumer in such way! And there is the game they play. LG tells me to call Home Depot and Home Depot tells me to call LG. Neither one wants to be responsible for the defected refrigerator they sold me. What am I supposed to do? Get another refrigerator because these two irresponsible companies would not take responsibility and stand behind their damaged goods? I am waiting for your response. Thank you.

Updated on 09/18/2019: Update to my prior post of July 2019. It is now September 18, 2019 and my refrigerator is still not fixed. The most recent cooling issue started in June 2019 and it is still not fixed by LG. I call every week and every week Im told that they are sending my issue to the Escalation Dept who will call me in 2-3 business days. No one ever calls back. Finally someone acted like they were going to replace it. After I uploaded receipt provided by Lowes. The new person who answered the phone said no replacement until a service person says it cannot be repaired. So, I said I dont care whether you replace it or fix it, I just need it to work because it is now 50+ degrees inside the refrigerator. Of course, this new person is referring my case to the Escalation Dept and Ill be calling again next week to try to get my refrigerator fixed. I doubt it will ever be fixed but Ill call every week until someone shows up to try to fix it... DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!!!Original Review: NEVER BUY ANY LG APPLIANCE! The LG refrigerator I bought (which cost over $3,000.00) had an error message about cooling by the fan within 24 hours of the refrigerator being delivered. It took about 6 months and at least 4 visits from a repairman (after many, many phone calls to try to get a repairmen sent) before the issue was fixed. Then, 4 months later, I have the same error message with the same fan issue. It has now been over a month since the issue started again and it is still not fixed. I could write 10 pages about the horrible customer service at LG and the slow and horrible service companies they LG has assigned to fix the issue. I will certainly never buy another LG appliance and I recommend that no one else ever buy an LG appliance. Any manufacturer has got to have a better product and a better customer service function and better service companies that they engage to act on their behalf.

My LG fridge isnt even 3 years old. The compressor has gone out 2 times. Not even a month between breaking twice. The matching stove broke 2 days between each other. I will never buy LG again or if their parts are used in another brand. Ill make sure to do my research on my next purchase. Hundreds of dollars lost in food each time. This is ridiculous! LG should be offering consumers their money back. I dont want a fridge that will keep breaking. I want to buy from another company but unfortunately I live paycheck to paycheck and had to save for this garbage.

I have had many problems with the compressor and main board on my fridge within a span of three weeks. The technician came to service it multiple times, replacing the compressor twice, the refrigerant three times, and the mainboard twice. It broke for the third time yesterday and is not cooling again. Apart from the inconvenience of not having a fridge, Ive had to throw away groceries multiple times. Customer service wants to send the same technician out to replace all those parts a third time. I refused because there is no guarantee it will function properly for more than a week, bringing me more inconvenience with the holidays approaching. Customer service only offered me this solution and would not budge on my refusal to pay for the past labor. I will buy another fridge and never will recommend or consider an LG appliance again in the future.

Well LG you have a lot on your plate right now and thousands of consumers without refrigerators due to your faulty compressor problems. Mine has been out since last Wednesday and LG cannot find anyone to service their product even their LG technicians aren’t available. Living out of 3 coolers and had to buy a box freezer. Now on my way to buy a used refrigerator because not knowing how long this issue is going to take! Was reassured that I would be reimbursed for buying the box freezer, food spoilage and old refrigerator. My case was sent to regional manager and being review while being told I’d be called back in 3 to 5 business days with a resolution to replace or give me my money back if I pass the review and if they cannot find anyone to come out and fix it. I don’t want to ever own another LG product let alone have them come out and replace the compressor with the same faulty issues to have it break down again in which it would. I also have a 1,000 dollar LG dishwasher and 6 months ago the top digital touch board went out! 1 year later! They replaced that and praying it doesn’t go out again. So now playing the waiting game. Don’t buy LG. Appliances will never be made the same way that they were years ago in the 70’s and 80’s to last a lifetime. I have reviewed just about every brand out there and all I find is garbage reviews!! What the hell can you buy that’s reliable anymore!

Seems like from the very beginning we had issues. The water filters don’t last as long as they should, the main fridge door hinge got bent (somehow)? We had a serviceman come out to inspect. He wanted 300.00$ to replace a 50$ part. No way! I ended up getting small magnets to try and pull the door gasket closed, this kinda worked at best. And now, yesterday the whole fridge cooling system died? I pulled the fridge out, cleaned the coils, hoping for the best. This did nothing. Unfortunately service calls are out almost a month. We need it fixed now!! Food is going bad. We ended up buying a new GE Profile fridge. We’ll never buy anything LG again!!!

We bought a LG gas conventional oven (model or serial # LG LRG3095ST) from Frys on March 13 2015. We did not open the box until today march 27 2015 and found that the door of the oven got one hinge loose... that mean the door is only connected to stove by one hinge and the other side is hanging when open. And there is a big dent on the stove... We rushed back to Frys in the city of industry to exchange it or return it... but we were told they wont accept our return or exchange. The return department at frys gave us the number 1800 243 0000 to contact LG to settle the problem... so we called LG and the LG operator told us that there is nothing they can do. I felt like it is not fair to us. We paid for a brand new oven and got a defective one and no one seemed to be willing take a responsibility for that. We are stuck with a defective stove. The service was very bad. We were actually told by the manager step out of my store, the exit is that way! twice. We would like them to exchange the oven or refund my money.. Thank you very much for your kind help.

Three years ago I purchased the LG WT4870C washer -- a He top loader with stainless tub. Its been less than a satisfying experience owning it. The unit flashes the IE error code on virtually every load of laundry. Since my washer is in the basement, Im blissfully unaware of the error code. So, the wash cycle practically never finished when I expect; Ive come to count on it taking twice as long to do laundry as it should. The IE error code indicates a dirty water filter, and I wonder how I ever existed for years with my old washer -- it never gave me a bit of trouble related to water quality. This unit is so sophisticated. It can actually sync to your smart phone. Who gives a damn!! Can I start a wash cycle and add clothes as the tub is filling with water? Nope! I like to do that to save time, but LG thinks its a good idea to lock the lid so you must get all your dirty clothes inside the tub before you start. You cannot open that sucker while its working. Not happening. And, in this great freedom-loving country of ours, do I get to choose how much water to use to wash my clothes? Nope! I should be able to wash one sock with 10 gallons of water if I choose. Whether or not I have my own well (which I do), it should be my choice. Sometimes I just want to soak -- I mean truly SOAK -- something in water. The control freaks at LG decided to be clever and prevent the user from exercising this right. You will use exactly the amount of water THEY want you to use. Seems very un-American to me. In short, simple is usually better, and the LG WT4870C is not simple. Dont be drawn in by all the bright lights and fancy chimes. This unit is overpriced and the product of Big Brothers crack team of controllers. I wish I had not bought it.

Every time I use the ice maker on my LG refridgerator, I hate it even more.
Every time I use the ice maker on my LG refridgerator, I hate it even more. Tonight is a good example, where I just needed a few ice cubes for a glass of scotch. More than 20 minutes later, I finally finished cleaning up the mess from the ice maker being frozen up and unable to dispense ice cubes. The resolution, as always, was to take everything apart to unblock the dispenser that was loaded with a frozen chunk of ice cubes and frost, which is likely due to the flap on the dispenser getting stuck open for some reason. This is NOT a one time occurence but one Ive been dealing with since the fridge was purchased more than 3 years ago. This combined with its ridiculously slow time to make ice has convinced me to NEVER, EVER buys another LG product. My contacting LG for support was an insult - everything was my fault and they stood by their claim that they were perfect and I was a nuisance for having contacted them. Ive had similar experiences with contacting them about their ranges, where the front edge of the stove top kept getting chip marks. Turns out they no longer sell a paint to fix these chips and asking them why was met with indifference. Methinks this is because theyre trying to avoid the liability of them having sold a product that has inferior paint or a large batch of ranges with faulty paint.

We purchased our gas range from Home Depot. The first range had a gas leak and home Depot replaced it with the exact same. Down the road the knob for the oven head broken. I called LG and mentions the broken oven knob and also mentioned that we had smelled gas coming from the stove. They sent out a technician to fix the oven knob but not check to see if the stove was leaking gas. We experienced natural gas smells on and off in our kitchen. So then I decided to call again and then they sent someone out to check on the gas leak. It was leaking gas due to a manufacturer defect just like the very first stove. This gas leak had been going on for about 9 months. LG has horrible customer service, long wait times on the phone and they do not care that this natural gas that has been leaking from their stove has caused health issues for all of our family members. The health issues that we as a family have experienced are lightheadedness, burning eyes, headaches, ringing of the ears, flu like symptoms, breathing problems and chest pains. After the repair of the gas leak we called LG to let them know we do not feel comfortable with having their gas range in our home after this being the second one that has been leaking natural gas. They did not care. They did not show concern. They were not willing to provide a new unit. The care of this company is not about the well-being of their customers. We have also had trouble with the refrigerator and dishwasher being stainless steel having rust on them. I did also bring this up during the phone call but they said thats not their problem. Not sure how you can call something stainless steel put your name on it and then say its not your problem. All of these experiences that we have had with our kitchen appliances happened within the first year we bought them. I hope this helps others make a informed decision on purchasing LG products.

I purchased 4 brand new LG appliances for our daughter when they moved into their new home. She immediately noticed a problem with the range. The knobs on this model are along the front of the stove and they can be turned on very easily. I was there one day and walked past and barely brushed against a knob and turned the element on.This has happened several times. Even the family dog has turned it on. So far there have been two fires as a result of this issue. One caused damage to their LG range hood/microwave and upper cabinets. This stove is dangerous and they should not be allowed to sell it. We have contacted LG several times. They had scheduled an in-home visit to see the issue but never showed up. We have still not received a satisfactory response. The latest response was to keep the children out of the kitchen. The children are the only ones that havent accidentally turned it on.

We purchased a new LG Washer & Dryer 05-06-2013. The washer has been banging very loudly while the water adjustment turns on & off during its cycle. Also we have noticed a strong mildew smell in the washer as well. I have had to replace the hot & cold water valves due to this erratic banging of our plumbing pipes. We had contacted the LG contact people & they have not been cooperative/helpful. They gave me names & numbers of repair services that do not service our area. Called them the next week & was told a service would be contacting me within 3 days. However, no one had called us & they gave me conflicting info once again. We cannot afford to pay for any more plumbing problems due to this still erratic washer banging problem. Our other unit we had worked the same way. This unit does & it never gave us this disturbing problem. Sincerely!!!!!

We bought this LG WM3670MWA washer and paired dryer at Nebraska Furniture Mart in in June 30,2018. The Silk screened Cycle Name lettering is now dissolving and even rubbing off the washer. LG says its COSMETIC damage because something other than warm water and a damp cloth was used to clean the washer. We use Shout as a pre-wash and have for the last 15+ years. Our 13 year old Samsung front loaders never had any issues with lettering rub off. I sprayed Shout on a 9 year old silk screened plastic cup and let it sit for a week, adding Shout each day, and its still perfect. Never buy another LG Product. NFMs $270.00 extra warranty was worthless for this as they say if LG says its cosmetic, theres no reason to even come look at it. They only cover mechanical breakdown. Not happy with performance either. Also, Turbo-Wash times are reasonable but will only take 3 items (?).

I have been using LG brands for years and a very well known brand. Always changing the needs for the consumer, and all about making great and outstanding products. The refrigerator we purchased was a side by side, and I like how it was stainless and easy to clean. Also had the water and ice dispenser. Also kept everything cold and or frozen very well. Made veggies last a little longer in the crispers. The only thing I didnt like was there was not enough room in the side by side for the freezer section and the refrigerator got overcrowded at times. Especially shopping for kids during the summers.

We purchased a French door LG refrigerator in Mar 2016. It was delivered and installed in Aug 2016. On Jun 15, 2018 the compressor went out. After an hour on the phone with LG customer service and contacting 12 different LG authorized repair people, none offered Saturday service. We finally found a local guy, willing to work on an LG refrigerator (MANY appliance repair people state on the home page of their website that they DO NOT SERVICE LG REFRIGERATORS or their outgoing VM gives this information). Within seconds of having the freezer torn apart, he confirmed that the compressor was out. We then spent the next two weeks, while on vacation, speaking with LG customer service and the repair person to TRY to get action towards a compressor replacement part before we got home. We arrived home to no compressor part and after ANOTHER call to LG customer service, found out that our claim had inexplicably been closed! WTH? I then barfed all over the LG USA Electronics Facebook page when the social media rep was able to get more information than 7 calls over two weeks with LG customer service had yielded. LG offered to pay for the part and the labor. Problem is NO LOCAL REPAIR PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO WORK WITH LG because they PAY SO LITTLE and this job will apparently take ALL DAY. So LG recommends this repair person who is an HOUR AWAY. It has now been two more weeks (yes, a whole month without a refrigerator or freezer in the heat of California summer) and STILL NO CALL that our repair is imminent. So today we call LG Customer Service again to find out the parts were delivered to the authorized LG repair person on Friday, July 13th and it is our responsibility to work it out with the repair person. To say that I am FURIOUS is an understatement. I want LG refrigerators BANNED from sale in California because of faulty manufacturing and beyond horrific customer service. LG is committing fraud. We did our research before buying this refrigerator. LG refrigerators received favorable reviews. BUT NOT SINCE WE BOUGHT OURS. LG apparently made a good product when the manufacturing was in S Korea or Mexico. Since moving their manufacturing to China, however, we are in the MAJORITY of people complaining about the shoddy piece of junk LG refrigerators now are. I want our refrigerator repaired so I can get rid of it and purchase a quality KitchenAid or Whirlpool refrigerator. WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING LG AGAIN AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE!!!

I purchased an LG refrigerator (LSXS26326S-00) in 2015. This year January 11 it stopped cooling. I had a repair man come out to check it. We were told it was the compressor, which would run about $550 labor and $350 for the new compressor (also $145 diagnostic fee). The compressor was ordered and the repairs were done. It was repaired on a Thursday afternoon and stopped working by Friday evening. The repair man came out again and notified us the the BRAND NEW compressor was faulty. He told us this was common with LG parts and this was part of a class action lawsuit. At the time of this review, I am still without a refrigerator and just over $1000 in the negative for repairs that did not solve my problem!! I will never purchase another LG anything!! I am very upset that with this known problem LG as a company did nothing to notify consumers who purchased these faulty models of this problem that is beyond repair. So I did go online to see if the claims were true about a class action lawsuit and they were. The last day to file a claim was February 5, 2021. I was already past that date by the time I was notified there was such a thing. I wasted time and lots money on this situation and couldve just purchased a new refrigerator. I will tell everyone I know to never by LG appliances and go through this horrible experience!!LG this is for you...Consumers like myself work really hard to make sure they purchase quality products. You are doing them a disservice by not being open and honest about your products if they have problems. A company of your magnitude should make good with consumers who purchased these FAULTY models. Reimburse them or offer them a replacement model (equivalent or greater) with at least a 10 year warranty for all the pain and frustration that your product caused!!

My three year old washer is being consumed with rust. We are not careless and try hard to never splatter the chlorine. At the rate of corrosion there is no way the frame can last long enough to cover the 10 year warranty. Thinking this was surely a defect considering the $899 price tag, I called LG Customer Service. They are not located in the U.S.A. They then told me there is no warranty on the washer housing and began schooling me on being careful when adding the Clorox because it is very corrosive. Really? One would think the LG engineers would realize that when designing the washer. Now we have mechanical issues and are in need of other repairs. NOTE. LG is not American made. Definitely not worth the money and I do not recommend buying one.

LG Black Stainless Model #LFXC24726D - I have had my doors replaced twice.
LG Black Stainless Model #LFXC24726D - I have had my doors replaced twice. Last week the tech David ** here in Northern California came out to replace the freezer and one refrigerator door. When he replaced the freezer door he chipped the plastic on the freezer prying the old paint skin off. Then he scratched the new skin by the handle in the corner. It looks like the new skin that was replaced on the freezer doesnt fit this model because now all that you can see where the handles are is the white plastic. I called within 15 minutes of David leaving to complain about the chipped plastic. He came back to the house, took pictures and sent it on to customer service in Alabama to Jessica the Executive Supervisor. The following day I got an email saying they would be out on 10/18/18 between 8-12. Of course on 10/18/18 around 10:45 I get a call from Jessica the Executive Supervisor saying that they would not be fixing the chip that the tech made and that the case was closed and they would not be coming out anymore. I asked if they had reviewed my two email dated 10/21/18 on the other two issues. She said no and that I would get a call from her within 24-48 hours. Of course no call so I called on 10/22/18 and Jessica was not available so I spoke to Bill Executive Service Supervisor and told that I would have to pay for the new freezer door and service call on something that the tech David ** messed up. My only recourse is to appeal to the Office of the President (no phone number to speak to anyone in that office). At this point I will be complaining to the Bureau of Consumer Protection, Better Business Bureau and looking to see if there is a Class Action Lawsuit going on.

I purchased a double oven in 2018 & within six months the numbers on all the knobs were coming off. Mind you, I paid over $1300 for this range. I requested replacement parts through filing a complaint with the BBB, because LG wanted me to buy the knobs, because the warranty had expired after emailing & talking with them on several occasions. First, they set the wrong color knobs, the second time they only sent two knobs, with one being damaged & the wrong style and the third time, all the knobs they sent were different & they only sent four. This is the worst company Ive ever had to deal with & the worst & cheapest made appliance Ive ever bought. Ive never had an oven where the numbers have came off the knobs. They are ripping off the consumers by producing these defective knobs & then trying to make you buy more & when you file a complaint, they give you the runaround & send you the wrong knobs, so they dont have to replace them for free. I have been going through this process for two months & still do not have the correct knobs on my oven. I spent over $5000 buying all new kitchen appliances and this is how they treat their customers. Its not like my appliances werent registered on their site, so they had the correct model & serial number. Buyers BEWARE when buying LG products. You will get the run around when trying to get the right parts & cheap production.

Meanwhile get used to living without a refrigerator! As I am reading this seems to be a common problem on recent LG refrigerators. I bought a new LG WT7900 Washer (their top-of-the-line top-load machine) in May 2020 (3 months ago). The direct-drive motor now makes a very loud grinding noise (even though the motor has a 10-yr warranty). Ive since learned that this is a common issue thats been going on for nearly a year. I called the LG 800# found in the Owners Manual. They scheduled a repair appointment with their third-party repair service (A&E Factory Service, which also goes by the name Sears Appliance Repair... really????). I took the first-available a.m. appointment, thinking thatd increase my chances of them actually showing up.My Service appointment was scheduled for 7am-11am today (Aug 8, 2020). You guessed it... NO ONE showed up, or even bothered to contact me (other than a confirmation text I got yesterday). So I called their 800#, and was on hold an HOUR before getting a live person (guessing lots of people are having similar experiences since their phone lines are so busy??). When I finally get someone, he says he needs to put me on hold while he investigates the issue. But after being on hold another 10 minutes, the line disconnected. So now I have a brand new LG Washing Machine that doesnt work, and LG is taking no responsibility to fix it or replace it.

I bought an LG side by side refrigerator for my home. Recently, I am a divorced single mother of a 2 year old, trying to start over. Here it is, one and a half years later and my fridge totally thawed out all of my meat in my refrigerator. My milk is spoiled and all of my meat and vegetables are rotted and ruined. I am barely scraping by paying the bills, starting over again and I should not have to be buying a fridge after a 1 1/2 years. This is ridiculous. Customer services are good in telling you that your warranty ended at 1 year and that is it. No, they have no sympathy. If it wasnt for good friends letting us eat with them for the next two weeks when I get paid, we would be without food. I cant buy groceries twice. I cant buy refrigerators twice. This is ridiculous! I am telling everyone not to buy anything LG. Beware, some Kenmore refrigerators are made by LG now too.

One morning 18 months after purchase while trying to make lunches and manage the usual morning routines of all work of families with kids, found all food soft or going soft in freezer!! Food in fridge was cool but not usual cold. Temp readings still said 0 for freezer and 37 for fridge... I called dealer who sold it to us, of course, Not his problem. Called LG who initially insisted I had a smart diagnosis feature which I did not, another 20 min wasted, finally a repairman comes over. Spends 10 min and tells us it will be almost $400 to fix for a new fan and compressor???? What??? I just bought this thing!! LG, you must be kidding me... not buying into your company anymore. Updated on 08/23/2019: Hi this is third review about the same issue I have been having for 6 months in that LG is not fixing the brand new refrigerator that only worked for two weeks. I have been trying for 6 months for someone to show up to fix it. They then sent me an email a month ago saying they would call me to arrange a time to replace it. They didnt call. Another technician was scheduled to come. This would be the 19th appointment I have had with them and none they have shown up to. I just received another text saying that my appointment is cancelled and LG are doing absolutely nothing to honor my warranty with them in rectifying the situation. I can not say enough to never buy anything from LG.Updated on 08/14/2019: 2nd time I am writing about useless LG. I bought a brand new refrigerator. It broke after two weeks of owning it. 6 months has passed. They use A&E Factory as technicians. A&E have cancelled on me 17 times leaving me to wait at home for them and then either not calling at all or they text 30 mins before the end time. LG contacted me after I wrote my first bad review saying they would replace it. This was a month ago and now they have disappeared. Do not buy LG, the product breaks; the company is dishonest, they do nothing to help, they lie and do not follow the warranty. I am still stuck with a broken fridge with no help whatsoever. I never write reviews. I am so upset and angry about this situation I had to write this so no one else goes through what I am right now. I am utterly stranded and at the mercy of the technicians never showing up and LG doing nothing to rectify the situation. Absolutely disgusting.Original Review: Your freezer broke within two weeks of me owning the refrigerator. I have been waiting 12 weeks for someone to come and fix it. Your service provider in my area has cancelled and not shown up to any of the appointments that have been set. I will never ever ever buy an LG product ever again and I am telling every single person I know and all those that follow me on social media, on Yelp and Google and all sites to share my advice of never buying any LG products. I am disgusted with your company and disgusted I have been offered no compensation for this situation.

LMXS28626S.ASTCNA0/French Door. I bought it for the good looks, but there are a few annoying and serious design deficiencies in the refrigerator, as follows: 1. The ice maker storage is in the door, which causes the ice inside to clump together and stop making ice if the door is opened for a couple of minutes while cleaning the inside. The storage has to be cleaned out, and sometimes reset, in order to work again. 2. The water dispensing spout is far from the pressing mechanism, and water splashes outside the glass if it is small. I have never experienced this before in any of my previous refrigerators3. The French doors do not stay in place when opened - the left tends to shut, while the right tends to open all the way.

After 20 months my LG fridge with an inverter linear compressor failed. LG customer service is terrible, as I have to wait 7 days for a tech to look at the fridge to determine the failure.... it’s the compressor... No cooling in both freezer and fridge compartments, all fans are running. I’m one of many unsatisfied customers! Had I known the reliability of the inverter compressor was this low I would have purchased the fridge! I hope there are some lawyers out there with similar failure of their fridge and consider a class action law suit against LG Electronics. The inverter compress design is faulty and all customers should be given the choice of having it fixed (only to fail again in 18 months) or a total refund of our purchase. We purchased this fridge in 2010, to the tune of $2,500-. We have had so many issues with it that we are now on our 3rd replacement model. Fortunately, I bought the 5 yr warranty with the store. This last fridge, LG would only cover the pro rated portion remaining, so the warranty company covered the difference. And I had to pay another $500- for another 5 year warranty. I got my new French door LG Refrigerator, Model #LFX31925ST/100, in October of 2011, for $2354.90. The ice maker has been replaced at least twice and currently they say the one installed in August needs to be replaced again, it quit in Dec. I have had at least 6 service calls. Not counting the times they couldnt get here and had me pulling the fridge out from wall & unplugging it for several hours and plugging it back in, to eliminate loud knocking noises. This week we finally figured out that even though 8/23/15 they replaced fan grill assembly in the back of deep freeze (new one has some sort of defroster in it) we still have no ice. Last summer the water spout on door stuck in on position and nothing we did would shut it off. It flooded our kitchen before we could get the water shut off. I have thrown out so much food during the past two yrs, it is insane. Finally went and bought thermometer and learned that even though door panel shows refrig. set at 33 temp is 46-48. Freezer varies. Now I have learned it is currently part of a Class Action Law Suit and Im not alone. Im done in and crying Uncle...

I purchased an LG Dishwasher 1 1/2 ago. My selection was based on price, look and features. So far, I can honestly say that it has been the WORSE dishwasher I ever owned. It looks very nice with the hidden panel, however, the options on that panel are only there for decoration; it makes no difference what option you select. Some of the dishes come out dirty, especially utensils which are neatly placed in the top drawer and well spaced. There is no drying cycle; dishwasher is completely wet hours after the cycle has ended regardless of the option selected. The biggest problem is the smell; this dishwasher smells SO, SO bad all the time. I cleaned the filter at the bottom but it made no difference. Technically, this dishwasher should last me many years, however, due to the poor performance, I will have to replace soon with a new one and for sure, I will never purchase an LG product ever again.

I purchased a Top Load LG HE washer in Nov 2013. It replaced a 27 year old Kenmore that I never put a dime into repairing. I cried the day that washer died. It has been two years of hell with this machine. UE are the letters now that make me want to throw a two year old tantrum. I have literally seen these two letters on the front panel of this washer more times than I can count. I am now keeping a log of every load and how many times the UE appears before I can actually get a load done. It is usually a minimum of 2. Every part that can possibly be replaced has been done.I have one final repair man coming in a week. He just needs to say that at this point the washer is unrepairable and I will get a replacement. It doesnt matter what type of load I do, sheets, towels, jeans, every one will be UE. If I could take a sledgehammer to it I would. My question now is who is making a decent washing machine that doesnt cost a fortune? I think we need to go back to the old style of set your wash level, temp and what type if load. I want to tell my machine what to do and not the other way around.Im so tired of taking all day to do one load of wash. My old machine would take 25 minutes top. A cotton normal cycle with fabric softener takes 1 hour and 11 minutes in this machine, really??? LG, go back to the drawing board and give your customers a machine that we can say good thing about and not turn grown women into raging lunatics who just want to throw a tantrum every time they do a load of laundry!

After using LG washer WM4270HWA several months, the ink writing is coming off from the washers front panel and front panel buttons. Please look at the attached picture. The panel was not cleaned using any cleaners. The only explanation is there can be some detergent residue on the fingers after loading the detergent (coming from the detergent bottle or cup). It will dissolve the ink. This is the design problem since it has to be assumed that you are dealing with detergent and LG could cover the front panel writing with transparent plastic or film as they actually do on Power and Start/Pause buttons, proving that they are fully aware of the problem. They could use other inks or just glue the stickers that can be replaced later. Unfortunately, they didnt think much about it and went with the cheapest solution, and this is not the cheapest washer model. Finally, they refused to replace the panel saying it is a cosmetic damage. However when all letters will be gone how to select the washing options? It will be a functional issue. Having extended warranty is not helping either, Home Depot, where the washer was bought, is saying the same. One of their suggestions is to take a marker and write on the panel. Ridiculous nonsense. Be aware.

I purchased an over the range LG microwave from Home Depot. It was a reduced price display model, which I guess should have told me that it was a waste of money. Within a year, it stopped working four times (two of these times were within two days of each other). Since it was covered by the one year warranty, it didnt cost me anything, but it was frustrating to be without a microwave while waiting for it to be serviced. THEN... after the warranty expired, it stopped heating on two more occasions. Now, LG state that it would be $160 to have a technician come out to diagnose the problem.I think a microwave that needs servicing six times in such a short period should have been replaced, but LG thinks I should just start paying the $160 per call out for the same, reoccurring problem. I spoke to a supervisor at headquarters who was very unhelpful and told me that the company should not have helped me as much as they did because it was a display model and its history was unknown. She was very combative and arrogant and probably doesnt even realize that she lacks even basic customer services skills and is in need of training. My only consolation is that she is a consumer too, and the same way she treated me, she will be treated at some point in her life. Further, I know now not to purchase another LG product. Hopefully I can save someone else from wasting their money on LG products like I did.

We recently purchased a LG fridge and have been happy with is so far. It is a top/bottom layout with the door in a door with the glass window. It is convenient to grab drinks and other often used items. It keeps everything very cool inside. We set it a few degrees lower to help keep the door items cool. The front items in the door average about 40 degrees while the inside is around 33-35. The Freezer section stays around 0 as desired so no issues there. We bought the extended warranty based on some reviews but are hoping to get a solid 10 years out of the fridge.

Updated on 11/08/2019: Have had an ongoing problem with a compressor on an LG refrigerator that is 5 years old and no it out. When the service tech came out on 10/24, the unit was eligible to be fixed free of charge, (which they told me would cost hundreds of dollars). When I complained to LG via ConsumerAffairs, they posted this response on 11/07. When I called them today to inquire about getting it fixed free, they said that now that is was November, we no longer qualified since it was now more than 5 years old, (by 7 days since it was manufactured in October of 2014). Why would they tell me this and then recant it? See screenshot below.... Beware of LG Refrigerators and LG in total, I have two of these refrigerators and their TVs.Original Review: The compressor on our LG refrigerator went out after just 5 years, although its under warranty, it doesnt cover Labor which turn out is several hundred dollars. In addition, it takes weeks to get the parts, not fun when your fridge is down for several weeks. I have two LG refrigerators that we spent more than $2,000 for each....terrible investment. Beware of LG refrigerators.

Our LG refrigerator is only 18 months old and has broken down three times.
Our LG refrigerator is only 18 months old and has broken down three times. The first time, LG repaired within the first year. Second time occurred three weeks ago. The warranty company contracted a local appliance repair company to come out. They came out and diagnosed the issue, then said they needed to order a new compressor and should take three to five days. On day three, I call the company to find out status of compressor. They indicate it had not yet arrived. I call every day after that for another week and could not get anyone to answer the phone. My wife and I are both professionals and do not have time to deal with a fridge company. On day eleven or so, I file a complaint on Better Business Bureau website. Less than twenty minutes later, I get a call. Company comes out to install the new compressor a day later. Repair guy says it is fixed and leaves. Later that day, I again noticed the fridge was not working. Fridge is still broken!!! Now another lost work day and more time on the phone and internet wasting my time dealing with a terrible LG Product! There has to be legal recourse with so many complaints. I bet the majority of us have the same model. LG needs to be held accountable for selling a $2500 piece of junk!

I have a LG Dryer DLGX5102U(V). I purchased this dryer from Home Depot about 2 years ago and also purchased the extended warranty. Good thing in the less than 6 months, the drum has to be replaced twice. Right now there is metal protruding from the drum and tearing up clothes. LG has tons of complaints for this problem and does not recall them. The drum is supposed to have a 10-year warranty but you would have to pay for labor. LG does not stand behind their products and I will never purchase any LG again.

This washer and dryer is a real piece of junk, which I paid $2,400 for. I have a real mold problem. The washer has now developed a main bearing problem. The tub and motor have a 7 year warranty, but the bearing that holds it all together is only covered for only1 year. They will not fix it, and they are asking for $500, to replace the bearing. I was told it would be covered by the warranty, until the repairman came to my home, then informed me it is not covered. LG will not respond to my problem. We need a class action suit. Slick and smooth with an Ice dispenser. The ice dispensed was fairly large and the handle was curved. The fridge itself was of average size. The freezer section wasnt unnecessarily large and was all the space I really ever required. The fridge could have been larger though, but not for its price. The size of the fridge couldve been larger with less unnecessary pullout shelves and more standard shelves. The door shelves were decent though. The production the the aforementioned ice was also somewhat long as well. The price of the refrigerator is what caught my attention. Then again, the fridge was on sale and wasnt at its standard market value, thus this opinion could be skewed or biased.

My husband and I bought a house with a LG range already present in the house. After using the convection oven for about ten months I noticed blue specks in our food. I investigated the inside of the oven to discover the blue enamel was peeling. I called a repair company who called LG, they requested pictures be sent of the oven. LG said they would provide a partial refund if we could produce a receipt for the range since it was out of warranty and irreparable. We can not produce such document because it came with the house. I demanded to know if the paint we digested was toxic, the customer service rep said he would find out, but would not pay for the stove.Another week (three now) went by, I have a recorded message from another customer service rep stating they will not pay for the range and also could not tell us if the paint was toxic for another MONTH!!! Because it was made in Korea!!! If the paint is toxic, we will be dead in another month I guess. Any product used for cooking, peeling paint containing unknown substances from Korea MUST be recalled!!! LG may refuse to replace my range because I dont have a receipt, but they should at least offer to pay medical bills for blood testing of the four people whom ate the unknown substance in their Korean enamel.I wanted to help others avoid this same trauma so I took to Facebook, where LG accused me of spamming and blocked me from their page to hide this toxic secret. I also still have this message saved to my phone. Like every other complaint on this site, I am sure they will say they take pride in their product and refer me to the website. The fact is the website, the company, customer service, no one knows or cares what we ingested and until this is fixed this product needs to be taken off the market.

Called customer service and was advised to call service tech in our area, he never returned call. Under the LGs useless warranty they stated we would have to pay for service call. Filed complaint with BBB and went no where. Also, supplied pics of receipt and broken part. They offered a possible courtesy visit from tech and would not supply replacement part or refund. Guess they will go out of business if they had to honor their warranty for all the POSs they are unloading on the consumers. No customer service or ethics to this company. No stars for this company. My LG refrigerator broke down over a week ago after just 18 months. I paid over $3,500 for it. I have been trying to have my case reviewed by LG for over a week now but they keep rejecting my proof of purchase even though on top of the original receipt and invoice, the Home Depot store where I purchased it from, issued an official proof of purchase letter. I spent over $7,200 on all LG appliances and I am not happy with any of them. The display on the stove broke down in the first week I had it. The washer keeps stalling when I run certain programs. The dryer routinely stops with an error message that the duct is blocked (which is bogus, we checked it on many occasions and there is no obstruction) and the dishwasher does not completely dry the dishes even in extra dry mode. I have never before written a negative review but this company does not deserve to be in business. They do not stand by their product and use the annoying and false slogan Life is Good. Good for them maybe. Not for the customer. Their customer service is a nightmare. All calls are answered by representatives who serve as a layer of protection so you cannot actually get through to anyone who is a decision maker. If you are considering a purchase of an appliance, please stay away from the LG brand!!! Worst ever. I owned a Samsung fridge before and it worked like a dream and was nicely designed. I kick myself in the rear end for not sticking with my gut when I made the decision to purchase the LG junk brand.

I purchased a washer in January 2013. It started giving a UE signal and delaying the cycles. No matter the size of the load, it kept doing this. It was serviced on April 9th, 2013. It worked fine for several weeks. By June it started the same problem described above. I attempted to make a service appointment online and it keeps saying there is no service for my area!!! I chatted online with an agent and this person (Gus). He asked me for all the information and also stated there was no service for my area and that he would talk to a supervisor to call me. This has not happened (7/18/13). On Monday 7/22, I called LG and the person (Richard) told me that all I had to do was to rearrange the clothes I was washing. I told him that was not a solution and I wanted it to be replaced or money refunded. There was a lot of discussion and then he told me that a repair person (who I need to call instead of them) would charge me for the service, which I refuse to do since this is a new appliance. I went to the store I bought the washer from (HHGregg) and the store manager called LG and there was no solution to the problem. I am not willing to keep this washer giving me such hard times!!

We bought a new LG French door refrigerator model LFX28978ST from Sears. The refrigerator is under warranty - 7 year for sealed system and 10 yr linear compressor. We had enjoyed the refrigerator until it stopped generating any cool air in Jun 2016. We had contacted LG support, and LG technician came out 6 times to fix the same cooling issue. Every time the fix only lasted 2 days to maximum 10 days. The LG technician had been telling us the cooling issue is not fixable; however, LG corporate insisted its fixable. LG corporate also said they will continue to fix the issue with no consideration on the number of attempts! Anyone with common sense agrees 6 attempts is more than enough to prove its not fixable! When we suggested there is lemon law to protect consumers from repeated same issue; LG corporate said the law does not apply to appliance. LG corporation does not care about customer satisfaction and does not honor their written warranty. Its unfair for consumers to take this nonsense from big corporation. Where is accountability? LG will get sued when someone dies from a knob being turned on accidentally. I’m surprised it hasn’t already happened. It happens all the time. Especially when friends/family are over. How could LG think was a good design? Was there no testing? Were they 3 feet tall? Also the burner disc discolor and never clean up. The super burner stains on the silver and you can’t get it clean. We purchased one of the largest washer, and dryer 9.0 in 2014 when we purchased our new home model number DLGX8001W Serial Number 406KWWZTH785. The other day I was informed by my wife that she smelled something burning and then heard the dryer making a loud noise. I contacted a local appliance repair company once he showed up I was informed that the motor was dead along with bad rollers. Disappointed at the untimeliness of this situation I headed to Best Buy to purchase a brand new unit.I saw that the same unit offered a 10-year warranty on the motor. I then questioned the sales rep shouldn’t my unit at home also carry a 10-year warranty? He replied He believe that it should also have a 10-year warranty on the motor and drum. I then went home. The next day I contacted LG customer service. I was told by the customer service representative after verifying my model and serial number that the unit was under the 10-year warranty for the motor and drum. He also noted that the initial one-year warranty had expired but I was still under the 10-year warranty for the motor and drone. I was giving the phone number to the L G certified appliance repair company in my area. Once I contacted the service rep I my unit was not under warranty and I needed to contact L G to verify again. I contacted L G and was told by the representative after verifying both my model and serial number that my unit was under warranty for 10 years for the motor to illuminate the confusion. I merge the call between the LG customer rep and the authorized repair company and the L G customer service rep after speaking with the appliance repair company he back bit his statement in regards to my warranty and said that he apologizes. He was speaking in general to me and that he was sorry but my unit was not covered under a 10 year motor warranty. I am upset because he also explained that a lot of units are kind of covered under a ten-year motor and drum warranty but for some reason was he look closer mine was not. I am extremely disappointed at this situation because every unit that I see now is advertised that they have a 10-year warranty on the drum and motor. This was a very expensive unit I purchased it and was willing to spend more thinking that it was a quality laundry machine and now that it has failed me I have experienced misinformation and a bad customer service experience. I kindly requested the service rep to transfer me to a manager. He put me on hold for an additional 10 minutes and told me he was documenting that and that he would transfer me to a manager. He then sent me to the beginning of the call Queue. No manager. Waiting on hold now. Will be explaining this all to another rep. This has been a horrible experience!!!

My wife and I purchased a new LG WT5070CW washing machine in January of 2013. This is a top loading machine. We started to experience mold/mildew smells from the machine shortly after we purchased it. We use high-efficiency soap, use very limited amounts of soap, dry out the entire machine (including the top lip of the washing tub) after every use, remove and empty the soap detergent/softener dish after every use, plus dry it out. We have used commercial after-market mold/mildew solutions to treat the machine. We have also used bleach rinses and vinegar rinses. We purchased a carbon filter bag that we place in the machine when not in use. Nothing seems to help and the smell is getting worse. So much so, that we are considering purchasing a new machine. We contacted LG about our problem and got a canned email response... do this and do that... all of which we had explained to LG earlier that we had already done. By canned, we mean it appears to us as if this response was meant for their front loading machines, as it mentioned making sure to wipe dry the gasket on the door of the machine. Our top loading machine does not have a gasket on the lid. We responded to LGs suggested fixes and asked to talk to a supervisor about this problem. So far, nothing from LG. The LG washing machine and dryer combination were not cheap. LGs customer service department along with their engineering department leave a lot to be desired. We ditched our LG phones earlier this year for Samsung and will probably do the same with the washing machine... although I am not sure what we will replace it with. LG products are problematic and I suspect will not have a lot of repeat buyers.

Many LG Models with the Linear Compressor have failed and settlement to a Class-Action Lawsuit has been reached. But, any compensation will pale to the hassle and cost of your refrigerator failure. Here is my experience: 11/17/20 - My LG refrigerator stopped cooling. It is 3 years old and still under warranty. 11/19/20 - contacted LG and requested service under the warranty. I called the service company and was told they will try to find out where the tech is and call me back with info. By 8:00p that night, no call was returned. Called service co and left message to call me back. 11/25/20 - No call from service co by 1030 am, so called LG again to request service. LG re-contacted same Service provider, and stated that I would get a call to set up appointment that night. LG made Complaint #: ** 11/25 at 2:00pm - Still no call from provider. Called provider again and was told tech would arrive between 5:00p to 8:00p.11/25 at 6:00pm - Service provider called to inform that tech was cancelling again. They could reschedule for another time after Thanksgiving. Told service provider that I will recontact LG, as the service provider was not reliable and confidence to have the company on home site was gone. 11/27/20 - Contacted LG to request service from another provider. Was told it will take an additional 3-5 days to send my request to Field Services before I can get another schedule. Informed that this run-around has gone on too long - Thanksgiving food (hundreds of $$$) are spoiling. Requested LG to replace refrigerator now. LG stated that would not do so until they get a Technician out to look at it - yet as of now that isnt even on the schedule. As of now I own a $5000 bread box.

I purchased LG Dryer from Home Depots stackable option package, yet when service needed on dryer, LG stated that I needed to unstack. Their representatives installed when we purchased, why would I need to unstack. What you pay for is not what you get from the LG product or from the LG Company. They should stand behind what they sell. I wish I had never ever purchased this product. To anyone considering purchasing, I hope youll look at the reviews. Do not buy and do not waste your money or time on this product. Look elsewhere for a quality product. I have purchased many items from Home Depot. They need to reconsider offering the LG product in their store. Reputation of products sold by Home Depot is important to customers like myself. Sure its a LG product, but I bought it from Home Depot. Who gets the bad reputation? They both do, LG and Home Depot.

I have not had any problems with this unit. It cleans well, is not as noisy as my previous Sears unit, and offers a short clean cycle when I dont have a full load to wash. Saves us on costs and time.

Extremely unhappy is a understatement! Started rusting after a couple of years surrounding the bleach dispenser and now at just 5 years old it is continuing to rust around the entire washer to the soap dispenser. Ive never seen anything like this happen ever in any washer Ive previously owned. Not every cycle washes correctly! I would call it a manufacturers defect but LG does not see it that way! After this experience I will never purchase another LG product again!

When I first got my LG washing machine in two thousand and 10 all seem to work well, and then all of a sudden on certain items of clothing it leaves oil stains on the clothes. I just write a review showing that someone else had the exact same problem, with no luck in getting a response. I guess its time to buy a new machine.
