I bought my fridge in 2017 and the compressor died in 2021. They came to repaired 4 days after because the technician was nice enough to move my appt earlier, they told me that they could gave me food compensation. I called them after the fridge was repaired and first the way that the customer service handle this cases are terrible, LG subcontract this phone calls to another country I would say INDIA and is very hard to understand them, then they start this process with text messages with questions and I just got one text, I never got the following question. I called them several times and the last time I called the customer service helped me, she never advised that she was going to send this claim manually. She told me that somebody would contact me to see if I was agree with the food compensation, next thing I know I received $100 check in the mail for a whole fridge food loss, I called them and I spoke with the supervisor Ann, she was very rude and reiterated times told me that my warranty expired and LG was nice enough to repair my fridge and they don’t do food losses that they sent me $100 dollar check because they were nice, she told me that there is nothing I can do because the check was issued. They never told me that if an agent do this manually automatically they issued $100 and don’t review my case just send $100. Be aware. Never submit your food loss claim manually. They will send you $100 check. They kept telling me that LG don’t send food losses claim. That if they sent me money is because they were nice and because I have my fridge bad for 5 days $100 was enough. I lost a full fridge and what it hurts me the most I lost 100 bags of breastmilk for my baby because of this. I can’t believe they got to decide how much they can give and they don’t live even in U.S. They told me that there is nothing I can do and LG won’t send more. This fridge is in a lawsuit that is why they do food compensation and also they extended the warranty. LG customer service is the worse. Case # **

LFX31925ST/00 - Nothing but problems! 3 instances of the freezer defrosting. The ice machine leaked from day 1 and rusted down the front of the door and around the dispenser. We had to fight to get that door replaced. Theyve fixed the freezer twice as well and my food is defrosting AGAIN as I type this. Geek Squad guy is outside on his phone trying to handle it when what we should be doing is picking out a new fridge because ours should be recalled!!

I bought an LG refrigerator 2 years ago for ~$3,000. Model LFX31945ST. This week it went out. Luckily I bought an extended warranty and called for repair. In speaking to the manufacturers technicians the ice and air circulation fans go out all the time and have to be replaced. So the technician that was ordered by my extended warranty claim came out and did not replace the fan (did not have the part) even though the error code that diagnoses the problem was clear to them. They cannot get the part a week to 10 days from now. So my food is spoiled (have a $250 food spoilage coverage) which will replace about 10-25% of the spoiled food and I will have waited 2 weeks without a refrigerator because even though they know this part is likely to go bad -no technician carries it. I will not buy another LG product but I made the mistake of buying an LG washer and dryer and I probably wont have long to wait until they go bad also.

We purchased an LG dryer from Lowe’s 11/18 for almost $1,000. It stopped heating after 3 days, so Lowe’s delivered a new one. This one worked for about 6 months. The diagnostic iPhone app didn’t work. The diagnostic app that communicates with a smartphone using a sound code didn’t work. We finally got a diagnostic error code by using a combination of buttons on the machine. It said the vent was blocked. So I removed the vent - there was no blockage. They say a repairman is coming next week, but we’ve decided it’s all too much trouble and so bought a new Maytag for $500 today. The LG is going to the dump.

Purchased 5/2015. Compressor broke down in 12/2015. Took authorized service rep over a month to repair. Mainly because the first service rep sent could not repair the refrigerator. The 1st week of 8/2016, compressor broke down again. Again, the first two authorized LG service rep sent could not do the compressor replacement work. Sent the 3rd service rep on Aug 29th. As of today, Sept. 3, 2016, still waiting for service rep to receive replacement part expected on Sept 12, 2016. This is the refrigerators third compressor in 14 mos. All repair service techs have expressed that LG refrigerators have a going compressor problems. My experience has been besides having a bad LG product, their warranty service is horrible.

This brand is well known all over the world and its reliable, safe and will last a long time. It has an amazing and modern design and everyone would be happy to have such product at home. It has everything I was looking for in a refrigerator and the price was within my budget. The color matches my other appliances and its easy to clean. I like the water filter that comes with it because makes so convenient and easy for my entire family to drink clean and purified water. I only wished it was more affordable. Everything else about it makes me happy and Im so glad I selected this specific model and brand. I have no regrets. This brand has met my expectations and I would recommend it to all of my friends and family members.

I purchase my old LG Microwave Oven Model MVI680ST at Home Depot 2 years ago. The door handle broke. The frame is falling apart in pieces. Have pictures and I immediately contacted LG Customer Support. A representative named Mike was very nice but hes just following orders from chief of command. He said I should contact a service place to have this fixed because its over a year old of purchase so no warranty. He gave me Ref# ** and case would be submitted to tech. Im completely unsatisfied after my experience and my neighbor too with her refrigerator she purchase within 9 months started giving her problems. Why would I buy another LG product? LG does not stand behind their warranty! DO NOT buy any LG product! They simply want your $ and they do not care about customer satisfaction!!! After this experience will go back to appliances GE, Whirlpool, Frigidaire.

I purchased my LG Refrigerator French Door LFXC24726S on 9/5/15 from Best Buy. This refrigerator is used seasonally from June through September each year and winterized. In July of 2017 or after about 6 months of actual usage Error FF (indicating a fan problem) appeared and the refrigerator ceased to cool. A local repairman (not LG) replaced two fans with no improvement. Since an LG repairman was unavailable on a timely basis I was forced to buy a replacement refrigerator since this is a seasonal rental home. I was able to get an authorized LG repairman in late August who with consultation with LG Tech Support diagnosed a probable Main Control Board issue since the board has been updated to correct a known internal fan icing issue. No repairs have been under warranty so after $300 for fan replacement and $500 for board replacement the refrigerator still produced Error FF and does not function.I would gladly join a class action suit because this is simply unacceptable. Foreign quality that is being sold to the American public by our big box stores. Furthermore, I have been unable to talk to a technical representative at LG myself getting bounced between the standard 800 customer service and the LG parts distributor. My authorized LG repair service indicates that LG is frequently difficult to deal with. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING MANUFACTURED BY LG!

It is completely broken, and replacement is taking two months, and still waiting. When you call them, you will hold forever. I called LG and they gave me their local repair company to deal with in scheduling the repair. They have been to my house 5 times, replaced the compressor twice along with other parts. I had to pay $600+ for the labor and parts that werent under warranty. It still doesnt work. My wife called LG and they said there is nothing more they can do. Im out $600 and a fridge. I purchased this washer about 2.5 years ago and my frustration with it began shortly after I started using it due to its poor performance. It is frequently off balance. Even if it only has water and no clothes it will work for a minute or two then stop indicating its off balance. Washing clothes is an all day affair at times and I wash clothes by hand sometimes to avoid using this hated washer. When it becomes off balance it will drain the water out and refill again and again so any savings on low water usage are non-existent. I started a load at 6:00 am this morning and it should have taken 57 minutes. (It is now 7:45.) After my having to adjust the clothes in the barrel several times the machine tells me it needs 30 more minutes to complete which with my experience could actually mean multiple more imbalances and more time.... I truly HATE this washer and would encourage anyone to NEVER buy it.

We bought our LG french door refrigerator from Best Buy fall of 2016 to be installed in our new home in 2017 spring. Almost 1 year to the date of moving into the house we had our first complete meltdown. All of the food was defrosted and water was all over the floor. We called LG and a technician was sent out days later. They replaced the compressor and it worked for a few months. Then it happened again. We called the same technician and they fixed it again. Now its noisy and worked until about a year after the first fix. Then it defrosted. Again same situation. This time it was 9 days before the technician arrived.By then it had spontaneously started working again so she refused to do anything. We paid over $100 for this. Now 1 month later its done again. We were told this is how its designed to work and there is nothing they can do. If this is true no one should ever buy LG. They design to cost you hundreds of dollars and dont back up their appliances. Cant wait to see how long it takes to get a technician and what they will do or not do this time. Each time we seem to have to pay more money plus we never seem to qualify for the supposed $200 in food recompense.

My side by side LG freezer (model LSXS26326W) which is only 2 years old has had the freezer die on it 2 times already. It makes no ice and the freezer temperature is up to 40 degrees even though it is set to 0 degrees. We have called the LG company several times but they keep repeating the same thing, Adjust the temperature. But we have adjusted the temperature several times but it does not help. We are seeing that others are complaining about a faulty compressor. I would not recommend this unit to anyone and please before buying any appliance check around and gather information to see what the best one is. The power button on the washer will not turn on, you have to unplug it then plug it back in after 2 minutes, it will then run one cycle. Called the 1-888 number for Canada helpline to run a diagnostic test with the phone tones using the washer. I honestly believe this is a trick to get you to call and have them try to sell you more warranty. They were no help whatsoever, the information on YouTube is much better and in the end, I ordered the part and repaired it myself for 1/4 the cost. The new LG washer and dryer have paint jobs like a Ferrari but they are more like a Yugo in quality. The dryer had a complete computer board failure ($200 repair) and now the washer has a transmission issue that not surprisingly is not covered by the 10 year transmission warranty. 200 characters isnt enough to explain, LG wont offer up they know about the issue and that they extended all warranties on the linear compressor to 5 years. My refrigerator was purchased on Nov. 1, 2017. https://lgcommunity.us.com/discussion/3871/important-lg-refrigerator-warranty-information-announcement-please-read. Opened case with LG support, LG happily said that my refrigerator is under warranty when my LG account for registering my appliances clearly says it is out of warranty. You have to call the number in the link that I added to get the warranty work. Talking with the agent, who was pleasant to speak with, also came back and said that LG will also offer to pick up the cost of the Labor on this call as a complimentary service. Really? It is stated in the warranty that Labor is covered! So much for the fake gesture, is Life Good? Anyway, back to my story. Now that I finally got to the bottom of all this, we have a service ticket generated and the agent is working to confirm a service technician in my area to take the service call, stating we will have someone within 24 hrs. Ok, well we all know by now, 3 days after the refrigerator has stopped cooling and at 61 degrees, all of our food is no longer safe to eat. It is now exactly 24hrs from placing my service call with LG and still no confirmed service technician on the case, when-o-when will my refrigerator cool again? And Ill just leave all discussion about the pandemic going on right now, ugh...As I continue to do more research about this topic, how many of you are aware of the class action suit against LG for this exact issue? ** I guess it pays to do your research. After the cost of a technician to tell me the compressor isnt functioning properly and a hum hum nudge nudge on the shoulder saying check this out, I discovered all this and am now expecting my refrigerator to be fixed for free. Once it is fixed I have to ask one more question. Is the new compressor covered by a 5 year warranty from the day it was installed, it should be! After all, we all know that this compressor will also fail within the next 36 months, give or take. This is the second generation linear compressor and LG has yet to fix its know issues, I am not aware of a 3rd generation compressor coming out any time soon. If you continue to research you will find that LG has already gone through a class action suit for this same issue on compressors prior to these. I hope this was some what helpful to anyone reading this and doing their own research into an LG refrigerator. Anyone looking for a French Door Refrigerator? I have one for sale!

Our 25-year-old Kitchen Aid dishwasher died and sadly our landlord replaced it with an LG dishwasher. Whether it works to our satisfaction has yet to be seen; the design is my big complaint. We are bending over literally almost to the floor to load the dishes. I own some giant pots, but none big enough to justify the enormous gap between the top and bottom shelves. Its ridiculous. I actually stubbed my toe and injured myself on the open door, which practically rests on the ground! The prongs are lined too far apart to economically place small dishes and plates and all in a row, so attempting to find a sensible way to group like dishes and glasses is pointless. Fortunately, we hadnt thrown away the utensil tray from the Kitchen Aid; I dont understand the covers on the junky LG tray, some of which stay open and some dont. Its just a cheaply and poorly designed, impractical product.

Bought it in 2015 with 5 year extended warranty from Home Depot, nice features and look, first time no cooling in 2018, linear compressor broke, had to buy a small freezer to move the food as the service came after a week, then another week for the compressor to arrive. Then in 2019 the top ice maker not working getting frozen, tech changed sprayer. Now, Oct 2020 the freeze and fridge not cooling, it seems to be the compressor again, need to wait one week for tech to come, overall a joke. Other techs recommend not to buy LG or Samsung as the parts not ready available and break frequently. Buying a GE this time and waiting for LG tech to repair and have it donated as do not have space to keep it as back up. What is the point of having a nice fridge if not reliable cooling.

Countless UE warnings and subsequent UE shutdowns despite manually redistributing load and sorting by evenly weighed items. Water hammer on our plumbing from rapid cycle solenoid function when not experiencing uneven load. We will continue to hope for best while querying the web for updates and solutions (yeah... sure). Very expensive fridge, 6 months old, not working. Under one-year manufacturers warranty. LG says they are not going to honor the warranty because it was an open box item. Several calls later, they say will fix it once they get the proof of purchase. I email proof via the portal they email me. I get a confirmation. Nothing happens. I call back. Kim says that I have refused to send proof of purchase. We argue at length. Finally, she acknowledges that she has it and says she will have to refer me to the extended warranty person. I explain that it is NOT an extended warranty; it is the original warranty. She next tells me there are no authorized LG repair services near me so she cannot schedule an appointment. But I should call a company over an hour drive- and a toll bridge- away. She finally gives me the number of a closer place. I ask for some sort of authorization for the warranty. She tells me to just call them. The phone number is no good. I find the real number, call them, and they say LG has to authorize the repair. I call LG back and ask to speak to someone in the US. After stalling me for 10 minutes, she gives me a number to call. It is out of service.

The first pair, purchased in March 2011 were front-load 4CF washer model WM2101HW, and WM2101HW, electric dryer. This set still works perfectly at my exs place. The second set, purchased 11/2014, were top-load 4.7CF washer model WT5070CV, and DLE1101W electric dryer. This brand new set works great - the washer has a huge capacity with a short, stubby agitator at the bottom. However, I miss my old LG front-load washers advantages: it uses less water yet cleans clothes slightly better, it is much gentler on clothes hence producing little lint if any, and it washes bulky loads such as pillows better because, having no agitator, it just tumbles the load over and over. So far so good, knock on wood.

My top load washer blew up inside after using the machine for 5 years without an issue. I had registered the product and never received notice that the company had recalled the model I purchased. When I filed my recall claim LG had all my customer information, including my purchase price and old maiden name, but refused to process my recall until I could provide my own receipt. I went through days of searching and calling Home Depot and complained three times to call representatives that its unfair I have to jump through all these hoops when they already know the selling price to reimburse me for. They stated You have to reconfirm the price and prove thats what we owe you.Ive been without a washer for three weeks now and am out a hundred dollars in laundry costs. As well as $300 in lost clothes when the washing machine blew up and caught on fire inside. LG refuses to acknowledge these costs and the time Ive spent toting laundry all over. The nearest laundromat is 20 miles from my house. Simply refunding me my purchase price is a slap in the face after all Ive been through because of this machine literally blowing up and catching fire inside. My house smelled like electrical fire for almost a full two weeks.

We bought an LG refrigerator despite people telling me their appliances are bad and had problems almost from day one. The poor service guy from the place we bought it was over daily to try and fix our ice maker. Bottom line, we have to pull out the unit about 1/2 an inch or the thing that lets the ice fall down wont close. It gets better. Today I took out the bottom glass shelf that goes above the crisper drawers and put it in the sink (with no water). When I went to separate the glass from the plastic shelf, it sits on it shattered into a thousand pieces all over me (cutting me) and my kitchen. As a courtesy, LG will send me a new piece of glass! My stainless steel sink is still filled with glass as I dont want to scratch the sink while removing it. LG should replace the whole refrigerator.

Purchased a highly rated LG refrigerator in 2011 with a 10 year warranty on the compressor. 8 years to the day, the compressor died. Compressor is under warranty, but other parts & labor are my expense. When the repairman went to install the replacement compressor sent from LG he found it was not the same. In fact it was very different. LG Parts dept said it was compatible & should work. The repairman, who has 30 + years experience, told us that the refrigerator would need rewiring & even then there was no guarantee it would work. He estimated his labor time to be 4 hours. Further discussion with LG brought no other resolution. Bottom line, they do not have the compressor for older models. They could have offered to put the labor under warranty but they did not. Their final word was that someone on their end (from the parts dept) would instruct the repairman how to install the compressor. We know this repairman for over 20 years. He is very honest & very good. He said trying to install the compressor sent, as is would be a fire hazard. His recommendation is to save our money on the labor cost & put it to a new refrigerator. NOT LG. Another comment: I had little choice in 2011 when I went to buy a refrigerator the size I wanted. The bottom freezer was the style. I hate it for many reasons. You cant put boxes in without them jamming; even ice cream containers. I freeze meat & chicken in air tight bags in order to fit more in. I am now looking for a top freezer instead.

We purchased this microwave in 2018, along with the matching refrigerator, dishwasher, and double oven. Spent a small fortune to buy them for our new kitchen. Our kitchen remodel was delayed so the microwave wasn’t opened until just recently. It was opened and installed professionally. During its first use I could hear what sounded like a fan, come to a grinding halt. We called LG and were told that because it’s out of warranty we would have to take it to an authorized repair shop (but would most likely have to pay for the repair ourselves). The nearest shop is about an hour away, and that’s after we take it down from the wall/cabinets. Then we are expected to reinstall it. I’m beyond overwhelmed and deeply disappointed.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator from H.H.Gregg 3/14/2015, I paid 3,023.99. June 2015, the freezer broke froze up and all my frozen food defrosted. I called H.H Gregg, they said that since the refrigerator was not yet a year old, that I would have to deal with L.G. I called L.G. They sent someone out to repair the fridge, he had to thaw out the ice with a hair dryer, said that the fan motor was gone, he ordered a part took a week to get it. He then came back out, put the fan motor on. It worked until November 2015, I came home about 11 pm, water all over the floor, everything in my refrigerator and freezer melted or spoiled. I again called HH Gregg. Once again they told me to call L.G. I called them, told them it was broke again, they told me it would be 8 to 10 days for someone to come out.I tried to talk to these people, they sent me to a call center overseas, they said they would not replace the unit. I then called the executive center in Alabama, worst customer service ever. It is now three weeks later, 4 dates before thanksgiving, still no fridge. Finally a LG tech came out, said it needed a new computer, a new compressor, and that there were some more problems. 5 hours later he took photos and left. Said beyond repair. Next day he calls, said they were not going to replace it and that he had to try to fix it. I called L.G. back, they were horrible, said I didnt have a choice they were not replacing it. So now the tech has it back together. Said he hopes it works. I will never buy another LG product, I would discourage anyone from buying LG. The worst People to deal with!

We originally purchased our LG LRE3061BD range in September of 2017. Within a week of owning it the cooktop cracked. We called to get a replacement but being as it was a newer model the replacement tops were backordered several months. Going several months without a stove would not work as we are a house of 5 and I need to be able to feed our littles. We went out and purchased another one of the same model as all of our appliances were a matching set.Now fast forward to today and our cooktop is cracked AGAIN. There was no moment where we saw it crack. We went to the stove which was off at the time and saw the crack. I have owned several cooktops over the years and have never had the glass crack before. Now Ive had the same model crack twice in two years. I called LG and they informed me that it was no longer under warranty. They also told us that there is a recall on this particular cooktop for the burners not working properly. After hanging up and researching the replacement part I called LG back. If Im going to Shell out another 350.00 for a replacement cooktop I want the recall fixed as I dont know if this could be what is causing the glass to crack. When I call back I speak to someone else who now tells me there is no recall on this model. I dont understand how in 5 minutes there is such a drastic change in the information Im being given. I ask to speak to a supervisor and I am placed on hold. The man gets back on and says that he spoke with his supervisor and has escalated the call and a supervisor will call me back. I asked when they will be calling and he says that it will be 24-48 hours for the message to get to the supervisor and for them to call me back. I explained to him that this would not work as I either need to order a replacement now or go get yet another new stove to be able to cook for my littles. He says it takes that long for the message to get to the supervisor.I explained to him that in this day and age with email and phones it does not take 48 hours for a message to get to someone. He puts me on hold again and tells me he spoke with his supervisor again and he will review the information and call me back in a few minutes. That was almost an hour ago. We shall see if they call back and if it goes anywhere. I would not recommend purchasing this product. I believe the small triangles in the glass are playing a toll on the structural integrity of the glass. This is the only difference between the cooktops I have owned previously and the two that have now cracked. I am not hard on my appliances and it breaking twice in two years is unacceptable.

I purchased an LG washer and dryer at Sears in Overland Park, KS. I have had service out twice complaining about dirty, dingy clothes and a loud banging sound when the washer is filling with water. Both times, I was told to use a high efficiency detergent and 1-2 tablespoons of detergent. I have complied. My clothes are still dirty and dingy. We have taken to soaking the whites in the sink in a Clorox solution to bring them back. I feel as though I might as well get a washboard out and do the laundry by hand.I replaced my upright washer, which was doing a fine job, so that I could have a quiet washer. The noise is louder and the clothes are embarrassingly dirty to the point where I cannot wear them.Nothing has changed in our laundry, same clothes, same people and same amount of wear. We do not perform any manual labor that would create unusually dirty clothes. My husband uses his washables to lie on the couch and watch television. I am a homemaker who hires out all of the dirty work. We both do workout, regularly. In theory, we are a washing machines dream customers.I hired a plumber to deal with the loud bang in the pipes and he told me it was the solenoid. Today, the solenoids were replaced and there is no change in the loud banging in the pipes. If anyone in the house is asleep, the washer cannot be operated because of the very loud bangs.

Just purchased an LG Model LFX31925ST French Door refrigerator 12/4/14. Connected the unit on 12/6, set freezer temp to recommended -4 and lo and behold, the freezer wouldnt freeze. Decreased the temp to -6 and it still wouldnt freeze. Frozen food transferred from the old Amana unit, which was freezing quite nicely by the way, all thawed and had to be transferred to the even older 23 year-old Whirlpool unit we keep in the garage! Called LG service on 12/7, they conducted the (Not-so) Smart Diagnostics and said that the unit was functioning properly, NOT! Completed reset of the system, was told to wait 4-6 hours and call back. Well, we waited seven hours and if anything, the freezer got warmer! Technician is due to arrive 12/9 to repair the unit. Is this how all LG refrigerator units behave? Think well go back to the tried and true Whirlpool appliances. At least we know they actually work. At this point, Lifes Not-so Good!

We purchased a brand new LG french door refrigerator (bottom drawer freezer and 2 door refrigerator with ice and water in the door). We purchased it through Home Depot for $2200 in April 2016. We researched and shopped around and felt good about the purchase. Didnt buy extended warranty - why would we... its a brand new fridge with manufacturers warranty and solid company right?? WRONG!!!I NEVER write online reviews. This experience is so shockingly horrible I had to submit a review. The ice in the door constantly melts and refreezes. When it refreezes it bonds the giant chunk of ice from the ice maker to the door. You need an icepick or a crowbar to then remove the ice maker from the door. Of course, as soon as you pry it apart, the entire bin of ice and melted water drops onto the floor and all around your feet. The melted ice block fills every nook 6 inches deep into the ice maker. Again, using an icepick you can chop up the ice and use your vacuum or spoons to extract all the ice.Home Depot wont touch this. Refer you to LG Customer Service. Took multiple calls and LG over the phone told us it was our fault and we must be leaving refrigerator door open too long and were melting the ice. They told us to open the refrigerator door NO MORE THAN 1-2 TIMES PER DAY??? Finally, they sent a technician. The technician reviewed the fridge and told me LG is terrible and he sees this all the time. However, his report back to LG indicated he found no issues. LG issued report to us that we need to TURN OFF THE ICEMAKER every night before bed and empty the bin. In the morning we can turn the ice maker back on but that we MUST USE ALL THE ICE EACH DAY OR TURN IT OFF. They claim the ice maker is so efficient and meant to make more ice than we can use because they were getting complaints it wouldnt make enough ice. So weve been turning the ice maker on and off each day - which makes us open the refrigerator doors twice a day by the way. And the problem is still there. Thanks LG!! What a waste of $2200. A waste of many peoples time in your games and a ridiculous strategy. Buyers are savvy and expect more than stupid answers. A very unsatisfied customer who is also a realtor and refers people to buy new appliances all the time! Will make sure people dont buy LG for sure!

LG LFX25971ST Refrigerator. Biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased. And, LG has the absolute worst customer service, ever. I decided to replace my spec house cheap refrigerator with a very, very nice one. I had always bought cheap ones in the past. In 2009, I spent over $2500 on this refrigerator and after 7 years and 2 months, the very cheap and chintzy compressor went out on it. This is well over a $1000 to fix. They knew their compressors were junk, so they replaced the rotary compressor with a linear compressor a year after I bought this thing. Now, I have to decide whether or not to dump $1000+ into this one or get a new one. If I get a new one, I will be throwing away a beautiful looking, fancy, worthless $2500 frig. Note - I bought the cheapest side by side (Admiral brand - Montgomery Wards) frig I could find back in 1997. That frig is still running. I bought a spec house with the cheapest GE frig in it, and that one is still running. The newest, nicest, most expensive appliance I have every purchased is dead. As a door nail. And, LGs local service stinks, too. I asked them how much the compressor would cost me and they said around $600. I found them online all day for $200-300. I sent a note to LG (mind you, you cannot contact the company directly. They have a call center in Romania, I think...) and they could care less. I got the most patronizing note I have ever a received. I will never, ever, ever, buy anything LG. Look at the reviews on this site. Look at the class action lawsuits against them. Dont go by the reviews on their site. They edit them. Worst company making the worst appliances, ever. And. make note, that they make a majority of Kenmore Appliances, as well.

LG top load washer WT1201C - This clothing washer has one major flaw. If working properly it automatically balances the load. If it detects that the load is not balanced it will automatically rebalance it before completing the cycle. However, it frequently is unable to do this, requiring the operator to remove all the items and replace them in the washer. This often happens more than once during the cycle. If you are not constantly monitoring its operation you may check after the amount of time for the load has elapsed to find that it never completed its cycle. I would not recommend this product for this reason. I would never buy this again.

$850 and started having issues within 1 week this front load dryer (LG DLGX4371W). It has an option for bulk and advertises all these bells and whistle options but my old Whirlpool 13 year old dryer worked better I must say. Keep in mind I had professional install for the unit and vent and the problem is the unit, well maybe only mine? The dryer accumulates lint at the bottom of the lint bay eventually not allowing it be caught on the screen it comes with. This lint clogging at the bottom is a hazard and can cause fire. Even though the machine has sensors which may stop the unit before a fire thank God, but its brand new...why should I be dealing with this as it seems to me to be a DEFECT. Now I have to check the bottom of the lint bay and use a special connection to my vacuum to ensure its not clogging up and shutting off during every dry cycle which costs me time and headaches as a father with a family. I purchased the new technology to try and get help and make my life easier but I ended up with a headache now. Wish I went with Electrolux as the reviews lead me to but the PC Richards man was so adamant and strong with opinion on LG being the best...this is not the case for me. Over and out and good luck to all with this unit.

My LG Fridge Model # LFX28977ST caught on fire. We purchased it 8+ years ago and stopped using the ice maker and water dispenser 3 years ago. It stopped working 3 times and we had it repaired twice but by the third time we turned the ice maker off and shut off the water valve. 3 nights ago it make a noise and my kitchen filled with smoke. We opened the door and found the ice maker black and melted from the fire. All my food was contaminated. I was on the phone with LG to find out it’s not under warranty, no recall is on this model and was offer a technician to come and see if it’s repairable if I pay $125 upfront. I said, No thanks. They opened a ticket with their safety department and said someone will contact me in 24 to 48 hours. It’s been 2 days. No one called. I expect appliances to break down and stop working but not to catch fire and blow up. My stove is right next to the fridge, we are lucky the fire was contained. This fridge needs to be pulled off market.

I purchased the top of the line Steam Front Loader approx. 3 years. ago. My wife and I are the only two that have used this washer, so it was taken care of and cleaned after every wash. I am a Machinist and work on much larger machines, so I know my medals. My wife put a normal size load in and the machine started shaking and smoking. We turned it off and opened the door and smoke filled the room. I contacted LG and explained it to them. They told me to take the machine apart and send them pictures. I did. Man was I shocked to see the cheap metal they use in their machines. It was so corroded, rusted, and full of mildew. When I went to pick up the part it broke into, in my hand. I didnt use any force on it whatsoever. With the RPM these machines put out, if we would have left it on, and it broke someone would have been badly hurt or even worse. I learned my lesson from LG. They do not service what they sell, they dont return phone calls, they will lie to you in a heartbeat. I also learned to read reviews before I purchase again... NEVER ANOTHER LG. I have learned most people that write reviews tell it the way it really is.

Thank goodness for that. Now to call Home Depot all over again and get the process started again. Will have to pay for Tech again to come out to find out what is wrong. I bought an LG washer, model number WM2240CW, on 3/20/2011. I thought it was working okay until I noticed that everything I washed would stink. So I watched it wash one day and I saw it wasnt putting enough water in. So I added more water with a hose and it washed fine. So I called LG and told them the problem. They told me I was overloading the washer. I told them that five tee-shirts and five pairs of underwear with 10 socks wasnt overloading. I told them no matter what I wash, it didnt put enough water in. They told me this was normal. I said, No, it wasnt. I could see dry spots on my clothes while it was washing. They would not do anything about it. So now I have to add water with a hose every time I do a wash load! Dont buy an LG washer. They are no good and their service sucks!

We purchased an LG washer in July of 2014. I have not liked it from the start - tub is too deep, fills with very little water to wash clothes, feel clothes are not clean. The washer broke on July 30 and repairman from Sears, where we purchased washer and dryer, came the next day. He advised us that valve was broken so water was running in constantly. He told us he would have to order it from South Korea (what?). Not acceptable but he could not order it in U.S. I called Sears Parts and was told they had the part and would send to us. The part arrived on August 3, and the next day two more valves arrived from Texas. I called tech dept but was told our tech had set August 10 for repair and they could not change that!! How screwed up is this? Never purchase LG again nor will I purchase appliances from Sears. Totally disgusted. Tqq.

I like so many others, purchased my French Door LG refrigerator on 11/13/2015. Almost four weeks ago I walked into the kitchen and discovered a puddle of water on the floor. Called a local repair service and they came over and said it was the board. They ordered a new one, which took two weeks to get. Installed it and guess what, that wasnt the problem. Its the compressor! I has to call a certified LG repair service and they have ordered the new part, said it will take 7-10 days to get. So hopefully by the end of next week it will arrive. In the meantime after reading all of these complaints I have called NBC News Better Get Bacquero and am also filing a complaint with the District Attorney in NYS. I suggest that everyone who has these issues (there seem to be over 1900 of us) do the same thing. By the way, if you check out the complaints re: the Kenmore refrigerators also made by LG there are a total of over 4000 complaints. Something needs to be done!!

We purchased an LG refrigerator with ice maker about 4 years ago. We have had several issues with this unit because the ice maker would continually overfill and flood the back of the unit. We have had numerous issues with flooding and ice all over the floor and with the unit not keeping food cold enough. We contacted LG for service, only to realize that it would take two weeks to install a new compressor and worrying if that would hold. I had just purchased food from BJs and lost over $200.00 in food. Not willing to re-experience this again, we ran out to Lowes and purchased a Samsung refrigerator which will be delivered tomorrow. I will never buy another LG product again. Made in Korea, and you must wait to replace parts.

We bought a gas LG range in November 2017, we got the matching refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and range after we bought a new house. We did not start using it until February 2018 when we moved into the house. Since that time the oven would periodically say it was at temperature but when you open the oven to put in whatever you were cooking you could tell that it was not up to temperature. At first it was sporadic and I thought at first I was doing something wrong. Then it was every time that you would try to use the oven it would not stay up to temperature. Called and got a repair person to come out, under warranty, and we were told the ignitor was bad and it was replaced. It was less than a month later that it was doing the same thing. The repair person came out again, said again it was an ignitor issue. Ignitor was replaced again. (This time it was not within the warranty period.) Its been a couple months since the ignitor was replaced for the 2nd time and it is doing it again. I will never buy another LG appliance again. When you own an oven you expect that you can use it. Just thankful that the neighbor doesnt mind me using their oven to cook my meals.

I chose to buy it because it was a good price and the correct size and color, and also the LG refrigerator met my initial expectations. The LG refrigerator had basic features. For example, it kept my food very chilly, nice and cold but not too cold. Just right I would say. The only thing I dont like about really any refrigerator is that they dont have a self clean option.

I called them and they said it was a cosmetic defect and NOT covered by the extra warranty that we had purchased. I have called them three times since, Home Deport contacted them and now the rust runs all around the bottom of the ice/water unit and is getting bigger. My LG refrigerator (Model: LFX25971ST) is not cooling. I bought an LG stainless steel fridge about three years ago. Last night, water started leaking from the ice maker on the door. Later, I found out that the water was leaking because the fridge was no longer cooling the upper part, nor freezing the freezer compartment.I called LG Customer Service to complain, but all I received was Im sorry. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was put on hold for over 15 minutes. The supervisor said that he would look into approving reimbursement for parts, but not for labor (no promises). I now have to wait until Monday (now Saturday) to get a reply. If I went to an authorized repairman prior to receiving a reply, then they will not cover anything. So, do I wait three days for a possible partial covered repair (and not have a fridge) or do I call a repairman today? By the way, this is the second major repair to my fridge in the last few months. The first came when the water line (on the fridge, not the connection to the house) cracked and leaked behind the fridge, causing considerable damage to my floor and the ceiling in the basement. My insurance company was involved and asked for the cracked tube after I had it replaced. They said that they would consider legal actions to recover the insurance claim.

Original manual says, Do not wash or spin water proof clothes. Literature Update: Do not wash or spin any item labeled or known to be water-proof or water-resistant, even if the product care label on the item permits machine washing. Failure to follow these instructions could result in bodily injury, severe damage to your laundry, your washer and/or property damage as a result of abnormal vibration of the washer. Examples of water-proof or water-resistant items include certain mattress pads, mattress covers, rain gear, camping gear, skiing apparel, outdoor gear and similar items.I contacted LG and they informed me that it is all legal and there is nothing they are going to do to help me wash my water resistant clothing. Of course, this is after speaking with several reps and getting the runaround, playing stupid, not understanding that water proof and water resistant are different, and outright telling me that this is all in the original manual. I had to email a copy of the page in question for LG rep to tell me that yes, they have changed specs on the washer but they are legally allowed to change it and there is nothing I can do about it. Specs are supposedly listed and changed on LG website and it is all legal to change it after sale of a product. I have read the whole manual and LG rep has pointed me to the exact page they claimed at first this information was to be found.

My 6 year old daughter has walked by and bumped the knob with her shoulder and turned the gas on and it was on for I don’t know how long. This is extremely dangerous. Also, I can’t even use the bottom oven because flames shoot out the back and burns my food. I bought this double oven because I bake a lot and it has made baking so much more difficult. Our LG fridge compressor went out after 3 years, so no cooling/freezing at all. Called LG support and it’s under warranty. They gave 10 repair places that they would pay for the repair. Of the 10, only 2 even serviced my Chicagoland area (not a rural area with very few companies). Of the 2 that did, the earlier either could come out was in a month. So I panicked and called a local spot that could. Over $700. LG will not honor my warranty because I used someone outside of who they approved even though everyone they approved couldn’t come and fix it within a months time. Many different customer service reps told me they would put it my request for a new fridge but it would be denied and they were unable to help me. After asking for a manager, I was put on hold for 45 min and then disconnected, this happened 3 times and no one called me back. We were also promised the max amount for food spoilage and after finally agreeing to give us money back for our fridge, LG told us we no longer qualified for the food reimbursement so we lost hundreds of dollars worth of food (over the course of fridge braking 4 times). This was the worst customer service I ever experienced in my life and for that reason, we will never buy an LG appliance again!

We bought our LG Refrigerator in 2015 when we built our new house. We spent over 2k on this new refrigerator. It was fine until July 2019. Thats when it suddenly stopped working. LG sent out a service tech to repair the fridge. He replaced the compressor and other interior parts the first time. This did not fix the fridge. He came back out a second time (about a week later) and replaced the fan in the upper part of the fridge. It finally worked. Fast forward to May 2020... The fridge completely stops working again. We unplugged it and left it unplugged for a few hours. After plugging it back in, it started working again. Fast forward to Jan. 2021... Horrible sounds coming from the fan in the top part of the fridge. The next day, the fridge stops working AGAIN!! This is absolutely ridiculous. A $2000 fridge that cannot work properly for even 5 years!! LG should be ashamed of themselves. These fridges were supposed to last at least 20 years and I have already had to have it repaired. It is frustrating having to keep unplugging it and moving it all around to try and get it to work again. Not to mention the food in the fridge and freezer compartments need to be moved or left to spoil.

I have been reasonably satisfied with the refrigerator itself. The icemaker is not all that great but that seems to be a common characteristic in most residential refrigerator/freezers with an icemaker. I had the refrigerator approximately two years and the compressor started going out intermittently. It took a week or so for a technician to come and look at it but they did come and look at it and seemed to fix it, although they did not replace the compressor at that time (which is a problem that LG knows about ).Six months later (May of this year) it completely went out on us. And this happened two days before our vacation. It took them ultimately three weeks to come and fix the refrigerator and my children were at home with no refrigerator. We lost approximately $500 in food, with a inadequate food reimbursement of $150. That felt a little bit like a slap in the face after all the problems we had gone through to get the refrigerator repaired. We went through three different technician appointments and the local repair company was both unresponsive and incompetent. When LG was contacted directly, they promised to help but offered no real help in getting our refrigerator repaired sooner. I own several different LG products and I certainly will do more research and be more careful about buying LG products in the future, no longer just taking for granted That their products are of the quality that I would normally expect from LG.

LMXS28626S.ASTCNA0/French Door. I bought it for the good looks, but there are a few annoying and serious design deficiencies in the refrigerator, as follows: 1. The ice maker storage is in the door, which causes the ice inside to clump together and stop making ice if the door is opened for a couple of minutes while cleaning the inside. The storage has to be cleaned out, and sometimes reset, in order to work again. 2. The water dispensing spout is far from the pressing mechanism, and water splashes outside the glass if it is small. I have never experienced this before in any of my previous refrigerators3. The French doors do not stay in place when opened - the left tends to shut, while the right tends to open all the way.

Years ago, I purchased matching LG Front Load Washing Machine (2233H) & Gas Dryer; cost approx. $2500. At first, my biggest issue was that the Dryer (largest capacity), could not/still cannot effectively tumble my California King sheets. As such, I still have to stop the cycle mid-way, untangle then fluff the sheets and restart the cycle! With my OLD top loading basic Whirlpool machine, I never had this problem. As for LG Washing Machine (2233H), after about a year, I developed serious and long-standing sinus issues but never thought of my washing machine being the source of the problem, until it began to smell funky and I did some online research. I found that this machine and other front loaders have issues with mold; however, I thought I was exempt from this since I always a) always keep the door open; b) frequently run the tub clean option and c) regularly clean the rubber rim!One day, I was reading an article about children, who had been admitted to the same hospital and later died; it was proven that these already ill children were given linens with mold spores on them. With already comprised immune systems, the mold spores entered these childrens sinus cavity then attacked their brains and, in turn, killed them! The laundry facility that was used by the hospital was found to have a mold problem!! So, I became more diligent with my washing machine. I took bleach and vinegar and tried to clean not just the rubber rim but further inside.Tonight, I was also fed up with the fact that bleach and softener never dispense. So, I went online and found an article stating that this part might be clogged and to take the dispenser drawer out then clean it. To my surprise, I found BLACK MOLD on the underside of the drawer as well as in the machine opening [where the drawer fits into]. It is so ingrained into the top underside of the opening that I cant get it off. I am now more alarmed about health issues that this washing machine Black Mold problem has been causing and might still be causing. So, I went online again and find that LG and other front load manufacturers have just settled class-action suits for this issue but not admitted any fault!!!! LG never sent any notice to me and the deadline has just expired. Furthermore, the settlement to each machine owner is pathetic, especially, considering 1) initial cost of these machines and 2) replacement cost for a new machine [as you will never get rid of the black mold throughout the existing machine]. Government needs to protect consumers from big corporations abuse since attorneys of class actions are the only ones who benefit. For this specific issue, people need to contact their local politicians to work on behalf of their constituents to get lemon laws passed in respect to these defective machines, which manufacturers continued to produce and sell with full knowledge of the serious potential and probable health risks to consumers [adults, seniors, children] due to exposure to common black mold formation. Manufacturers of machine models found to have black mold should be mandated to replace each of these machines with top loaders of the consumer choice.

We bought a brand new LG washer and dryer set, front loaders several years ago. I was so excited to have the latest and greatest. As soon as our warranty was up, all 3 agitators fell off - inside a wash and most of the items were shredded to bits. The appliance store we purchased them at told us we were SOL, and to call a repair man. Due to unemployment and lack of funds, we were forced to try and fix it ourselves. We finally found a waterproof glue which holds them on for a few months but they continue to fall off and we have to keep sticking them back on. Oh, and when I use my dryer for towels or a sheet set, it squeaks loudly as it tumbles. I do not overload either machine, and its not like I wash rocks. Ive never heard of anything like this happening to a washing machine. My husband is on his way now to the home improvement store for more glue, as the load of towels he just ran was making the loud booming sound of it happening yet again. We also get the funky smell, mostly on towels, and I have to keep wiping the inside of the glass door to keep the mold from growing, but I can deal with that. We bought a washer dryer combo from Appliances Connection the end of November 2017. It worked until around Feb 1 2018. It displayed a error code OE. We pull out the owners manual and found out it was a full filter. We cleaned it and it worked for about 3 weeks. Again OE code. We cleaned filter again, not too dirty but the washer worked for week. OE again. Nothing in filter this time. We called LG. They try to walk us through the problem and could not get it to work. They called a repair person. It took 3 weeks for service. The repairman came out. My husband took the day off work to meet him. He was 4 hours late. He look at the machine for about 10 mins said it was fixed. 13 mins into cycle it displayed OE. He was still in our driveway. He went to work on it again. He never took the top off to look inside. 10 mins later he said, Ok its fixed. Went to do his paperwork. 13 mins into cycle OE. He had left. We called and said same thing was happening. Repairman came back 2 hours later. Never took the top off. Said its fixed. Left 13 mins later. OE. Call shop closed. Next day repair shop said it will be 10 days for new repair person. Same guy came out. Hes mad now. Pulled plug on the drain and flooded my floor hardwood. Never ever came to tell us. Took his shop vac and dump the dirt on my front lawn. I have pictures. All area rug soaked. 20 min no top off its fixed. He left. I called LG to tell them of our problem. After 23 calls and at least an hour on hold a piece they agreed they would send a new repair person. New repair person was to come on Saturday. No showed. I called him all day. At 5:30 he returned my call and said he never set an appt. with LG to come. He said he could come in an hour 6:30 at 7:30. John came was at our house for 2 mins. Said he new the problem and would order the part. 1 week later no news. Call LG. They cant help me. I need to call John repair guy. No answer from him. Days pass calling LG and John. Nothing. Weeks later John calls to say he never got the part. I call LG. They say he never requested it. LG said they need a part number to check on it and I would have to get it from John. Called John. No answer. Called LG. Nothing they can do. 2 weeks of daily calls to LG on hold about any hour on avg. John calls me finally the day after LG told me they were going to refund me for the washer and told me he had the part and was coming on Mothers Day to put it in 7 am. I told him we had church and brunch at 9 am. He assured me he would be there. He showed up at 9 am. We did not make church or brunch. 30 mins spent to not taken off. He cleaned the filter and said LG sent him the wrong part but the washer was working. It did work for 4 loads then OE code again. Called LG. Still no refund or replacement or a washer that works. I dont know what to do. We have lost 5 days of work. Over 200 hour on the phone with LG. 45 min one way to nearest laundry at $60 a week. And hundreds of hour of our lives.
