I guess that judging by the other microwave reviews, I shouldnt be surprised that my first-ever LG product wasnt any good. We purchased a new house in May, which included a new LG microwave that was purchased/installed in April when the kitchen was remodeled. Last week, the microwave just completely stopped working, and when I called LG, none of the troubleshooting solutions worked. Their response was that they needed a receipt to look at it and repair it. However, the previous owner did not have the receipt. I told them that I knew for a fact that it was purchased in April. Regardless of that, its manufactured date was May 2011, so shouldnt they be ashamed that their product only lasted 1.5 years from its manufactured date? Instead, I now have to contact the people we bought our house from and ask them to call the store they purchased the unit from and find the receipt - wasting everyones time. Products break, I get that. But its the fact that it broke within 1.5 years of its manufactured date and that customer service was awful. I will never buy an LG appliance again, and Ill pass the word along to my friends.

I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND LG PRODUCTS TO ANYONE EVER AGAIN. Within 2 years of purchase the handle of our microwave broke right off from natural wear and tear. When it fell off it also bent the metal piece from the cover. Now we have to open our microwave from the bottom and risk cutting our fingers each time we do. Appliances today are not made like they were back in the 80s.

I purchased an LG Easy Clean microwave in 2014. The unit wasn’t exactly cheap but I figured I’d invest in a better quality unit. Recently (2018) I noticed the smell of burning and sparking coming from the unit. I opened the door and noticed that the inside lower left corner was physically melted??? I have never experienced anything like this with any other microwave in my life. Obviously I felt this was a safety issue and an obviously defective microwave.I called LG and jumped through all their hoops, providing them photos etc. They were supposed to call me back (they didn’t). When I called back I was told that they only offer a 1 yr warranty and the fact that I got 4 yrs out of it was good. Umm, a melted door is good??? Long story short, LG told me I can try to find someone to repair it but it will be costly and recommended I buy a new one. Yup, after only 4 yrs. I asked if a “MELTED DOOR” was particularly concerning to LG? He said no, it’s 4 years old. Umm, well I guess it had a good run in LG’s eyes. I’ll never buy from LG or any affiliate again. WOW!??

When we purchased our house 3 1/2 years ago we purchased a new LG French Door refrigerator. We had checked the reviews and all were good. The fridge worked great for the first 3 years or so. About 4 months ago the ice maker stopped working. We did some troubleshooting of the issue but to no avail. It was no big deal at the time, we just started using ice trays. We should have known at the time that something was very wrong. So about 4 weeks ago the refrigerator died. We lost all of our food and had no back up at the time. The day it died I called LG customer service and they set me up with a company called A&E Factory Service. After a day A&E called me and said the soonest they could get a technician to my house was 2 weeks away!I complained enough to the point where I worked it down to a week (again no refrigerator).. A week of eating out goes by and the technician shows up for my service call. He troubleshoots the refrigerator and says the compressor is toast. He says he needs to order everything in since he doesnt keep anything on his truck. He schedules another appointment with me which is 3 WEEKS AWAY. So now Im looking at four weeks without a refrigerator. So after the 3 weeks the new technician shows up and replaces everything on the fridge (compressor, coil, and two other heater items?). 3 hours later he says, Were all set. give it a day or two and itll be all set. Well 2 days later its not all set. Still broken, still not cooling at all..I called LG again and demanded they send me a new refrigerator and was told that I needed to have a service technician back to the house to see if it really needs to be replaced or if they can fix the problem. IS THAT NOT WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE DURING THE FIRST TWO CALLS!!I have now been without a refrigerator for over 4 weeks. I have taken two days off from work, one for each visit, which has cost me a lot of income, and will now have to take at least an additional day off for a third visit. I have a family of five and we are continuing to either eat quick made meals or eating out which is costing a fortune. I am completely fed up at this point. Never will I purchase another LG product. Which is very unfortunate since I already have 2 LG tvs, 2 LG soundbars and an LG microwave.

Our LG microwave is a low performer compared to our last. It took much longer to heat foods through. The buzzer letting us know it was done was very quiet, but the microwave itself was very loud and annoying (rumbling, rattling and humming). The biggest set back is the touch panel, it is impossible to see the settings since there is no backlight. Unit seems to get very hot as well.

After all repairs, I still have problems with the plastic inter parts breaking. Whats with LG product?

Was supposed to arrive in 7-10 days. Doesnt show up. Call again 1/12/17. Same thing - never shows up. Call back again 2/12/17 - still nothing. Call back again 3/1/17 and was told a simple paper wall template is on back order till 3/17/17. They are a JOKE! If I attempt to install without the templates and mismeasure... LG French Door Refrigerator LFX31925ST - Lifes not Good - Lucky Goldstar. I
LG French Door Refrigerator LFX31925ST - Lifes not Good - Lucky Goldstar. I purchased an LG French Door Refrigerator LFX31925ST in Oct 2014. Immediately after it was delivered, the control board had to be replaced (under warranty). Shortly after the 1-year warranty expired, the unit started making a loud propeller-type noise and stopped cooling on a Friday afternoon. We had to cook the food that was thawing from freezer and throw out a lot of food from fridge. We had a bout of food poisoning from refrigerated food that apparently had spoiled, so we threw it all out. After 9 days without a refrigerator and living out of an ice chest, the unit was repaired. The one year warranty had expired however the 10-year warranty on the compressor was still valid. Only one issue, the 10-year warranty on the compressor covers the compressor part only, not the labor or coolant. So the compressor, which has a $130 cost per the tech, cost me over $250 in labor and coolant. Now, less than 90 days later, the fridge started sounding like a turboprop airplane that we cant even watch TV on the same floor. This is the same symptoms as before and after spending 30 min on the phone with LG customer service rep Carl, in the Philippines, who asked if I approved to accept charge up to $200 for service call. Are you kidding me?!? I have an appointment with service tech this week which will hopefully cover the repair under warranty. No more LG for me, ever. They are still Lucky Goldstar to me and still operate like the same company that manufactured Lucky Goldstar branded microwaves for Walmart not long ago. Anything but LG. Never again.

LG is great brand. Love their unique features. Great company. I know the brand and I am familiar with the brand. It is always great whether it is a tv or a microwave. I love the brand so I thought it was a much better choice. I like how the refrigerator gives ice and it is great. Love the color and the spacing in the freezer. Love the white color on the inside. And it looks great on my wall. Love how it is built to last and hope it does. But I dont like how much space is taking and there should be more light. It could be much better color. It is not too heavy and love the electrical and it is okay. Could be way better.

I purchased the GE LG microwave because of the high ratings given to it by consumer reporting agencies. I paid over $300 for a microwave that began to have operating problems soon after it was purchased. Several times, I unplugged and rebooted the machine and it would work fine for awhile. Finally, one month before the one year warranty expired, an F-3 sign and sound told me that something was wrong with the microwave. I contacted General Electric a total of three times and gave them all information requested. I was told that the purchase price would be refunded in full. It never was!

We have had our LG Microwave for about 2 years, but today it started on fire when I went to re-heat up two slices of pre-cooked bacon. Pretty much as soon as it started, the right side wall started on fire! We opened the door and unplugged it. We are very disappointed with the quality of this microwave, model LMC0975ST. We have purchased two LG refrigerators for homes, two LG televisions and they have all been great, but not the LG microwave. I know this is a new technology, Smart Inverter, LG has claimed to put into these microwaves, so I can only speculate as to whether or not this had anything to do with the fire.

The LG microwave we purchased went out on us after we cooked the first potato. We had the LG microwave no longer than 2 weeks and had troubles. After working with LG for almost a month to have them fix the microwave LG blames A&E and A&E says there is nothing they can do without LGs approval. This went on numerous times and 3 appointments with the tech. so no microwave for Thanksgiving. Now No microwave for Christmas. Warning for whom is interested in this product that buyer beware! Our Sears Technician said that this microwave seems to go out quickly. I am a General contractor and have been building homes for over 19 years. This has been the worst experience I have ever had. In November 2011, we purchased an LG Microwave (Model LMV1813SB). It lost power a month later and had to be serviced by LG. It went out again a week later. An LG service person came out and worked on it again, but due to the LG policy, would not replace it until after four service calls. We had the issue again in March and April and finally they are replacing it. My complaint is the extremely poor policy and customer service that LG has. They would rather have the customer go through the time and effort of not having a microwave, making numerous phone calls to LG and scheduling time to have the microwave fixed. This is such horrible customer service. The time and effort we have had to go through to replace the microwave is more than what the microwave is worth. Here is the icing on the cake. LG has shipped our new microwave but told us that the one year warranty does not include removal and installation. I had to argue to get them to reimburse me for this. I will never buy another LG product based on this horrible customer service experience!

My 6-month old microwave, under warranty, stopped working. Attempts to get a locally authorized repair company were unsuccessful. One company didnt come into Maryland, another wouldnt have a technician for two months and the third one only did TVs. LG microwave was part of the kitchen appliances in the home we bought last year. It appeared to be fairly new. Within 6 months the door frame cracked then the handle broke off. Purchased several major appliances at once from Best Buy. All LG products. The microwave did not work right out the box!!! LG refused to replace it but would send a repair person out. Took a week to get an appointment. Had to take a half a day off to be home during their appointment window. Repair guy didnt show up until 10:00 pm at my house. Replaced a part and left. Next day microwave still broke! Keep in mind it hasnt worked out of the box.I called LG and once again asked them to replace it and they refused and offered to send the same useless repair service out again. If I took off another half day. I now would have lost more money than the microwave cost! Keep in mind it has never worked!!! I filed a complaint with the BBB and they answered basically that I was not getting the unit replaced. I also filed a complaint with the State attorney generals office which I have not heard back from yet. Put food in microwave, pressed the EZ ON BUTTON which will heat food for 30 seconds. The microwave started for about 1 second and then immediately just died. After about a minute it powered on was asking for the clock setting. It acted like it does when the power goes out. This microwave did this one time yesterday also. I entered and set the clock time and then input 1 minute time and, almost as soon as I pressed the start button, the microwave died again only this time it did not revive. It appears to be completely dead and is only about 16 months old (purchased October 2014). This is the first LG appliance I have ever owned and likely will be the last. I paid good money for this appliance and wish I hadnt thrown out the old one. It was rusted some inside but had been working for almost 20 years!! LG said its crumbs in the track. The track was clean, but I cleaned it anyway. Still rumbled. Then sparks and small flames started shooting out of a vent hole near one of the shelf hooks. I have all LG products. Fridge ice maker went out 3 times in a year then 4th time at 18 months. So no ice maker the last year or so. Now today I lost my microwave (lmhm2237st). Just stopped working at 18 months old. LG said pay for an extended warranty for like $360 when the microwave is only like $400. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. My GE honestly last 16 years. My LG a little over a year. What a scam. I will never buy a LG again in my life.

I purchased a new LG Range and LG Microwave in April 2019 -installed in May 2019. In October of 2019 the Magnetron and motor fan failed and needed replaced. This was serviced and covered by LG. Now come November of 2020. The motor fan and magnetron is failing again... Was on phone with LG for over an hour explaining that this should not happen in a microwave AGAIN in the short amount of time that Ive had it. LG will not do ANYTHING since its out of my warranty period. After a very lengthy conversation with a manager- they agreed to cover the Magnetron part only (then to find out by a service company that these are covered for 8 years regardless). No help on service fee or the fan part being paid for either. The quote to get this fixed is higher than the cost of a new microwave. Very disappointed. My very cheap microwave before I bought this one lasted 10 years. What gives LG? Dont make customers beg and plead for help on a failing product. There is NO way this microwave should fail this quickly. I believe I received a defective product from the beginning. So frustrating.

I purchased an LG microwave (model no. LMA1180ST) from Best Buy on April 13th, 2011. In December the microwave started making a noise like a fog horn and smelled of burning wires. When I contacted LG they were anything but helpful. I was told to mail my original receipt to them and purchase a new LG microwave. I was to then send them the new receipt and produce an ISBN number from the box and at that point they would honor their warranty and send me my $89.99. This microwave could have started a fire in my home. LGs policy of making a consumer wait for the warranty to be honored approximately 3 months is unacceptable as well as it is unacceptable that their product did not last a year.

I also had a LG refrigerator that only lasted 5 years. Terrible products. So I saw the Magnetron has a 10 year warranty so I called and they told me on the phone, it would cost me 125.00 right there for the service call and the technician would come out and replace the Magnetron and if it was over 30 min I would pay 35. Extra. When the guy came he looked at the microwave and said, It is the Magnetron and I ordered it but it did not come yet, and you owe me 35.00. I will be back in two weeks with the part.I am furious. I asked him what that 35.00 was for and why did he come out without the part and he said, I charge 160, so are suppose to pay me 35.00 no matter what. 1. Why did he come here without the part? 2. This is not what they told me on the phone. 3. I called them to complain and they said exactly the same thing to me and then when I asked for a manager, the CS person said, we have to review your call and you have to pay him for ordering the part, and then he said you have to pay him for extra time and then he said something else. When I pointed out all the various things he said, he said, We have to say these things. He refused to put me through to a manager. He said, We will call you tomorrow and review your call. Which is nuts since he said the exact same thing to me and the service guy said something different. Also the CS rep said, Well 70-80% of the time the service tech brings the Magnetron. So I pay extra time because I am in the 20%. Also NO ONE SAID I needed to pay another 35.00 when he came. They said, If he goes over 30 minutes. So, so wrong.

Updated on 05/19/2019: April 29 was my first review. TOMORROW will DAY 35 without our LG refrigerator. Had to make appt. Replacing compressor, main PC and therm. $1,100.00. I paid $1,500.00 for fridge. Thursday after approximately 4 hours with service repairman it is finally fixed. Today the fridge is WARM Inside. ITS BROKEN ALREADY. ALL I WANTED WAS A NEW FRIDGE. ITS DAY 35 TOMORROW!!!! PEOPLE should get to see all of the review replies I have done with LG. Not just the first one. I have 8 pages of notes of phone calls on this fridge. How many weeks is a acceptable to wait. I just wanted an in store credit....Updated on 05/02/2019: April 30 posted complaint with lack of service on my refrigerator. April 30 LG quickly responded asking for my telephone number. May 1 I responded. THEN nobody phones. This is now day 18 and no fridge. Please give me an in store credit and perhaps a FREE 4 year extended warranty to make things right. I offered a repairman’s name to you but no you didnt have a contract with him. Yet you did not have any licensed tech for a compressor.Original Review: We are now at day 14 without a fridge. LG doesnt care. Days went by before they said they didnt have e a licensed tech for compressor. More days went by before given an approval number for in store credit then, I was told Assurance Solution Insurance co would take file now. They then decide there is a repair man to diagnose it. Fridge stinks and still waiting to hear what is to be done. Totally UNACCEPTABLE. Should have been looked after within 2 to 3 days. Its a fridge not a microwave.

But, the microwave doesnt have a 5 seconds option so its hard to cook your food at your desired temperature. Also, its hard to keep it clean since so many girls uses it each day. This microwave caught fire while steaming vegetables. We heard a snapping sound followed by the entire inside space bursting into flames. I was able to extinguish with no damage except to the microwave. Since the unit was only 10 months old and still under warranty I called LG. Their response was immediate and a technician (tech) was at our home the next day. Upon arrival and inspection he made a few comments: (1) Why did we clean up the damages inside the unit? (2) What happened? (3) I need to call home office to talk to inside Tech.He made the call as we stood there and a Tech on the phone asked him to send a video from his phone with instructions from the Tech on the phone. Once completed he hung up and said this unit is fried and needs to be replaced but two Techs from home office had to review. Ten minutes later they called back saying it was customer error due to GREASE FIRE and they would not repair or replace. My only choice was to escalate the claim to LG management which I did. After sending them store receipt I asked for the denial and reason in writing which they absolutely refused to give me. The next day they emailed me to say they set up a Return Authorization Review and I should hear from them within 2-3 business days. It is now five business days with no response!I went to the store where I purchased the LG microwave, gave them my notes and asked for help. Once reviewed by store and they seen what LG was putting me through they said they would replace the unit. Would you buy another LG product after reading about this runaround? I would not but I certainly will purchase again from Best Buy as they stood behind a product that the manufacturer, LG in this case, would not.

This frig was bought Dec. 2006 for $1349. Several years ago, upon opening frig the plastic cover over the light bulbs had melted and fallen down. Terrible smell and it had turned light bulb black. Last night noticed that butter from butter compartment was as if it had been in microwave. Melted in my hand. The light bulb left on was across from butter compartment.Just realized that there has been a problem with lights not turning off when door closed. Also several years ago one vegetable drawer broke off and had to reorder part. Now also 2nd shelf is totally falling apart. Plastic is brittle. It is only 2 people in this household and this frig has not been abused in any way. I hope there is some compensation for this as I am just really irritated. From my reading LG knew about this problem in 2005 and 2006 and continued to sell this unit.

LG will get sued when someone dies from a knob being turned on accidentally. I’m surprised it hasn’t already happened. It happens all the time. Especially when friends/family are over. How could LG think was a good design? Was there no testing? Were they 3 feet tall? Also the burner disc discolor and never clean up. The super burner stains on the silver and you can’t get it clean. Bought this and the microwave you can’t see into without a stool. And it’s still hard to see in. LG, you dropped the ball here, learn from those mistakes. NOT recommended.

Worst experience I have had as a consumer - ever. I ordered an LG microwave 1/3/18 through a third-party, AJ Madison. It was delayed weeks (not LGs fault), when I finally received it and plugged it in it had a code of death - F11. It never worked, not even ONE SECOND. That was middle of March. Its now May 3, 2018. I have sent in repeated receipts, responded to their letters, requests for more information, taken pictures, cut up serial numbers, signed declarations that I did in fact buy the microwave. Gotten the third party involved and had them try on my behalf to no avail! They now want me to send them a receipt having bought a second one of these before theyll send me my money back for the January 3, 2018 purchase! Im on hold again with LG, 26 minutes into it and the customer service wants to explain the process to me - youve got to be kidding me. LG, as a very American, cooperative consumer who has purchased 14 appliances in the last year and done lots of shopping - this is the WORST customer service experience I have ever had!

This is the second microwave of this model. The first one worked fine for a year - until a few days after the warranty ran out. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired, so we bought a new one because it matched the rest of our LG appliances. This one lasted less than 3 months. Home Depot requires 3 repair attempts before they wil take it back (even though we have the extended service plan on this one), so we got in touch with LG again. The same repair man came out and took it apart and put it back together again, saying he couldnt find what the problem was. It worked after that - for 1 day. When I called the repair company again, the tech said he would contact LG for us and get it taken care of. He did contact them, but we have only heard from them once to request more paperwork. Updated on 02/14/2021: I posted a review on 12/19/20, at which time my microwave had been dead for two months. LG responded by asking me to send details by private message. I did that on 12/20/20. They did not reply, respond, or take any action. LGs second repair attempt (on this, the third time the unit has failed) broke what few remaining features (fan, light, clock) still worked. Costco has been trying for the last two weeks to get LG to replace the unit. They are getting what I got: no response, untruths, failure to call back when they promised. LG customer service is non-existent. This Friday will be three months since it broke. They do not contend that I am at fault in any way. They just wont do anything.Original Review: We bought a microwave from Costco as part of a $4000 kitchen appliance package. It has died three times in the year and a half since purchase. This third time (November 19), the part needed to repair it no longer exists. Despite that, Im getting a complete runaround from LG customer service, repeatedly being promised call-backs that never happen, 20+ minute hold times, and hours wasted on the phone. At this point, I am promised a call by December 28. Ill believe it when it happens.

I bought an LG 2.0 Microwave from Home Deposit. After only 3 months it started making horrible noises each time the glass turntable rotated. I called LG customer service. I was told to submit my invoice by PDF and would receive a refund check. That info was received. Two weeks later a different LG customer service employee wanted me to sign a waiver before they could issue a check. They also wanted photos of the metal serial number even though they were verbally given to them the first time. BTW: They don’t repair microwaves, but supposedly and eventually cut you a check for another LG microwave upon proof of purchase. Of course they never explained that initially as their rules change with every contact. I told the CS rep. after the fourth call to me (forget about trying to contact them) that I use a microwave every day and can’t wait weeks or months for them to reimburse me.Besides, why would I want to buy the same LG microwave again. I got another brand of microwave the day after the defective one. This is exactly where they want you. You are skeptical of LG microwaves, you bought another brand, so basically you will never be reimbursed for their defective product. This type of deception should result in a class action lawsuit. I believe that stealing $130 is a felony. They didn’t assign any order number to this case, but I have all their correspondence and screenshots of their acceptance of my submitted receipt.

I bought LG model# LMV1683ST in 2012 from Best Buy. I pay around $250-$300 for my microwave. It was very loud and on 2016 it just stop working without a warning. This is a very bad product. I never overload it and it was only used by 2 people. I never overheat it, Max time heating was 10 min. Very short life product. This is a product to only buy for looks and nothing more.

I have had to stop using my LG microwave (LMV168OST) as the plastic frame around the door glass and handle has fallen apart. I already replaced it with a new one a couple years ago and the same issue happened again with the replaced one. This seems like a safety hazard and I am sure other users have had this happen. Poor design of the door and frame...

We had our home built 15 years ago and purchased GE appliances and decided in 2012 to upgrade to stainless steel. We purchased an LG microwave and a LG refrigerator.. Model LFX31925ST.... It was the biggest mistake we ever made. The first 6 months the microwave had to be repaired and now the refrigerator light is out in the water and ice dispenser area. In addition the ice maker no longer works. The Smart Diagnostics says the first time that we have opened the refrigerator frequently... There are no children in the house and we eat out. The second diagnostic report says we are not closing the door and air is escaping. We had the GE products and NEVER had a problem. The only issue was they were white. We are both retired law enforcement and have been asked by friends and relatives about the beautiful piece of junk in our kitchen. I have referred them to ANY brand but LG. We have an LG television and I am waiting to see what happens with it. We will get it repaired and probably put it in our rental property or donate it to the Goodwill. Your appliances ARE A PIECE OF JUNK. I am so angry because my husband wanted GE or Whirlpool... but no I chose LG. Believe me I hear about at least twice a day!!!! Extremely dissatisfied customer!

A little more than two years old, this LG microwave (LMV1680ST) stopped working. The turntable does not rotate and magnetron does not heat. Everything else operates just fine. Door latch and switch appear to be solid and functioning properly, so it must be the electronics. I guess I will have to take it apart to look at switch, relay and circuit board.

Africa is known for power problem. LG microwave works well to solve that problem. Even with a very low voltage. Its still give higher power output efficiency. Its takes very small time, easy to operate and it works automatically. This have been our Messiah. Best than all. Really appreciate the world of LG.

The micro is good. The front of the fan tray is broken because of the heat. It appears as steel but it is plastic. There is no way to fix it without buying a new unit. I called the homeowners insurance. The technician said that nothing can be done. This microwave costs $375 plus $135 for installation. Very disappointed.

Purchased new microwave (plus suite of electronics) made by LG (Model LMV1683ST) at HH Gregg. Did not do extended warranty. Purchased Jan 2014 and died June 6, 2015. Will not heat nor will turntable turn. Called LG and went thru diagnostics, which I had already performed. I asked them about write ups online about this model number that indicated a design flaw that causes this issue. They declined to answer. If I were in Australia we would have had a two year warranty, but not in the US. They provided a list of places I could call for service but none of them provided it in our area. And lastly on our chat they did say it was a good thing I kept our 20 year old back up that still works great (not an LG). They dont even offer any type of trade in for something that is 18 months old to try to entice us to purchase another LG replacement. So I am sorry that I had to provide even one star as a rating. HH Gregg will not offer any incentive but they did hook us up with a repair center that will cost us $99 to come out as a minimum.

I have bought a LG Microwave from Home Depot in Nov 2018. It stops heating in Nov 2020. Called LG customer service 800-243-0000 about bad Magnetron which is covered for 10 years. They refused to ship me a part and only ship it to a technician. I told them I have serviced and repaired my appliance and I am DIY and installed the microwave. they still wont ship me the part. Also they do not cover repair service. So I am now forced to pay out of pocket for this repair. Never buy LG microwave again. Bad product from Korea! LG Electronics NeoChef 2.0 cu. ft. The thermistor of my 3 years and 9-month old LG LFC25770st stainless, french door, $1799 fridge overheated and died. LG no longer makes this defective part. So instead of a $150 to repair, I will need $1100 to replace. I only need to spend $1100 to replace since they are generously pro-rating my fridge at $700. Did I also mention my matching LG stainless microwave died after less than three years? All my non-LG appliances that I got at the same time are still working fine, and so is the $37 countertop microwave we have been using as a replacement for the last year. Stay away from LG products.

On Jan. 18, 2019 we purchased the above referenced microwave. It never worked when we brought it home, and Best Buy stepped up and just let us trade the non-working one for one that did work. Now, less than 3 months later, the machine stopped working overnight--lights and turntable work, but no heat or cooking is generated. Working with LG customer service warranty department is a nightmare. The customer service staff is very difficult to understand, when you are transferred to another department, there are very long wait times to connect, and instead of having it repaired locally, LG wanted me to pack it up and mail it to them. I have had LG equipment in the past and been satisfied. However, after this fiasco I will never buy another from them. All this hassle on top of not having a working microwave. My hope is that they will just pay me the purchase cost and let me get on with my life with a different brand. The customer service department and website are not user friendly at all.

Few days after purchasing LMHM2017ST, we would hear a squeaky noise from the turntable when on. It seemed just slightly bothersome then and so live with it.A few months later, numbers on the touch keypad stopped working one by one. Now most of them dont work. Also many other buttons are not working. The fan and light buttons are also not working causing these features not be available anymore. Next, another issue cropped up - the microwave switches on, on its own, as soon as the door is opened. So there are now multiple problems in a short duration of gentle use. I called LG customer service but they offered to send someone to fix these issues for a charge of $185 + tax. They would give only 60 days warranty and only on the services performed. They will not guarantee on anything else. It seems they know that there can arise even more problems in future. I bought this microwave because it looked good but other than that it turned out to be a crappy and expensive unit (over $500). I will not buy anything LG in future.

To: The Manufacturers of Over-The-Range Microwaves. PLEASE, downsize. They keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger, to the point where I have to replace my beautiful expensive cabinets in order to accommodate the darn microwave. And from what Ive read on the internet, I am not the only one. It definitely looks like there is market for them that is NOT being fulfilled. Can one of the manufacturers please step up to the plate on this? Why is it that I can find a counter top microwave that is only 10-14 high, but when I look for an OTR its 16 and up.

Bought a microwave in Canada in November to bring south for the winter as we are Canadian snowbirds. Arrived in Yuma, Az and about 2 weeks after arrival the microwave quit working. There is a manufacturing date of July 2015 stamped right on the microwave but all my paperwork for purchase is in Canada. I phoned LG and without the paperwork they will do nothing. I tried desperately to get some paper work from Canada but was unable to get. I therefore have to go buy another microwave to get me through the winter. I can get the micro repaired when I get back to Canada in April and produce the paperwork but then Ill have 2 microwaves which doesnt make much sense. I asked the LG person that I phoned how they could not just repair it when the manufacture date is stamped right on it. NO EXCEPTIONS he said. This to me is absolutely ridiculous. I will never buy another LG product as long as I live.

LMV1680ST - I have owned this microwave almost 2 years, but only used it for about 1 year after my remodel was completed. My cook light wouldnt go off. It would stay on while the microwave was in use. I began to smell plastic burning and heard a popping sound on the left where the operational pad is located. This microwave is not safe. Please do not take the chance of kitchen fire. Support says the microwave is out of warranty and I do not want it fixed.

I purchased a whole house full of LG appliances in October of 2011 (Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, Stove, Microwave/hood, and refrigerator). I have had many issues with the washer. The washer worked fine initially and gradually started having issues from unbalanced loads to not spinning enough and leaving the clothes soaked requiring extra spin cycles. I purchased this particular model for the load capacity. You would think it would be able to handle what it was made for. In August of 2013 LG sent out a recall for unbalanced load issue. An Authorized repair company came out and did the software update. Frankly the full of clothes and water with the lid locked from no power. They replaced the board (reluctantly) and we were operational until April of 2014 when the board blew again. Our first course of action was to call the authorized repair company back, but they would not talk to us over the phone and wanted to come out and charge us for a service call to service the machine as well as labor to replace the part, if in fact they felt they should warranty it. LG also no help at this point, the machine was out of warranty and not their problem. Since we knew what the problem was and were not fond of repair company anyway, we ordered the part ourselves online and put it in. This one lasted all the way to almost the end of September 2014, again blowing with the machine full of clothes. I have now purchased a new machine (not LG) and will be sending LG copies of all the paperwork, from original purchase all the way to current purchase. I doubt they will do anything for me, the machine is clearly a piece of junk sitting in my garage. Unfortunately, this is not the only one of their appliances I have had issues with. The microwave has had just about every part in it replaced in the span of a couple months, some of the parts multiple times. This was also a big hassle to get repaired. The LG tech fixed it the first 2 times and then it got pushed to yet another authorized repair company, for multiple visits changing out a part at a time. It would have been cheaper for them to just give me a new one. LG is now banned from my house. I will never purchase another one of their products, no matter what it is. I also recommend to everyone I know, to stay away from the Large Garbage. So far they have not stood by their products. I did not purchase an extended warranty, but I have never had issues like this with any appliance I have ever purchased and they have lasted well over 3 years. Not to mention these dealers want to charge at least 1/2 of the purchase price for these extended warranties, which is ridiculous.

Our two month old LG Microwave Oven Model LCS1112ST bit the dust yesterday
Our two month old LG Microwave Oven Model LCS1112ST bit the dust yesterday and I immediately contacted LG Customer Support. After jumping through all the hoops sending them a receipt, proof of damage, etc., I was expecting my $ back since it had a one year warranty. I received an e-mail saying in order to process my claim, I had to buy another LG microwave before they would consider any refund. Completely unsatisfied with this nonsense, I called and spoke to a gentleman that passed me on to supposedly the supervisor. She said that we were to send a letter explaining why we bought a GE microwave instead of an LG microwave along with additional documentation. Why would I buy another LG product? LG does not stand behind their warranty! DO NOT buy any LG product! They simply want your $ and they do not care about customer satisfaction!!!

Very spacious with lots of labeled compartments make it easy to find things. Very contemporary design so it matches my kitchen decor. The freezer is located on the bottom which leaves more refrigerator room to store cold food and beverages. The water is filtered and ice can be cubes or crushed for drinks. Shelves are easy to remove and clean. The stainless steel is modern look and easy to keep clean. Overall I love the product. It matches my microwave perfectly. Designed very well. I dislike the temperature. Sometimes it gets too cold and freezes my refrigerator items and also there is an annoying sensor that beeps to let you know the door is open. It is a good and bad thing because it makes sure you remember to close the door so that food wont spoil but also its a bad thing when you are loading groceries and need the door open for a long time. I chose LG because it is a brand I trust and I know is high quality and durable to last me and get my moneys worth. I have other LG products so the purchase was inevitable and yes it has met my initial expectations.

I bought an “LG Microwave Smart Inverter Magnetron” at Lowe’s, the higher priced larger microwave. After a few short months it completely stopped working while I was using it to heat up food. Only use is frozen meals, or heat food / drink about once a day. The longest period of use is 8 minutes. I contacted LG and they asked for a receipt before they would refund. I sent the receipt via email as they requested. After 6 weeks, they called and said I would need to go buy another LG and THEN they would reimburse me after I sent them a proof of purchase. The problem with that is, I don’t want another LG because of the chance of breaking and going through all of this AGAIN! Also, what if I get stuck and I am then $600 down the drains. The customer service is in Hong Kong and I had a difficult time communicating. #NEVERLG!

I have an LG microwave that I bought in 2013 at Sears. Yesterday I was using the timer when I heard it turn on. I tried turning it off but nothing worked until I unplugged it. The unit was hot to the touch. If I had not been home when this happened Im sure it would have started a fire. The other thing that scared me was I was able to open the door while the unit was running which left a funny taste in my mouth for a few hours. Im not sure I have a receipt but if I can find one how would I submit it?
