LG has the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. The ice maker shorted and caused a fire in the freezer. The potential was there to extend into my home and cause major damage. In a nut shell, LG feels that because the fridge is out of warranty they wont do anything about it. After seeing pictures of the damage, they said it wasnt a manufacturers defect and things eventually begin to fail. Please consider another brand if youre buying a fridge. LG couldnt care less about a dangerous event, or working with a customer to resolve an issue.

We bought this LG refrigerator Jan 21, 2012. It is the biggest waste of a thousand dollars we have ever spent. Last Labor Day it stopped cooling. Had to wait a week for a repairman. One took pity on me and told me over the phone to remove the back and dry out with a blow dryer. It worked. So now this Labor Day it wouldnt cool again. And guess what, had to wait another week. We decided not to melt the ice since we had a warranty. The repairman came, took the back off and fiddled around, said it was good and left. The fridge, still four hours later wont go below 40. We called the repairman. He said it is ok to put some food in. So we did, really fast. Now it is 50 degrees. Clearly we will be going back to coolers and five bags of ice a day again. We are so fed up. PLEASE dont buy LG. Not only does it not work well, but it dents if you look at it, and the little humidity control on the veggie bins snapped off the first three days. Just hate it. But it was the largest fridge that would fit through our small doors. So we had to buy it. PLEASE PLEASE dont make the same mistake. Now cancelling cats surgeries to buy another fridge soon. Sigh.. Anyone know a brand that works?

LG microwave quit working 1 1/2 years after purchase! I also bought a refrigerator at the same time!! Called LG support and was given a number for a repair service. Called Tarheel Appliance and Repair and was quoted $70 for someone to come out plus the cost of repairing the microwave which was going to put the cost well over $100! Tarheel Appliance suggested that I call LG back to see if they would extended the warranty since the microwave was just out of warranty. I was told that the warranty would not be extended!! Do not by an LG microwave! Quality is not there!! My previous microwave I had lasted over 15 years. I also bought a wireless LG headset that has quit working in 6 months too!!

I bought a front loading LG washer. It was one of the more pricey washers. Ive had it for 3 years and now it sounds like a 747 airplane is landing in the laundry room - LOUD grinding in spin cycle. The cost to replace this out of warranty is astronomical as it is a tub and bearing replacement. I posted this to the LG website for reviews and they sent me back an email saying the review did not meet their standards. I guess that is because it was a poor rating?? I will not do business with this company again. My previous washer lasted 10 years and this one only three - think I will skip LG in the future. It would be interesting to know how much LG earns on their repair side of the business.

My 14 month old 26 cu foot LG refrigerator completely died on 4/19. LG ONLY allows their service companies and THEIR parts for repair. 1st attempt at repair did not work. Now they tell me it will be 5/15 to get the needed part and sorry for my inconvenience. I spent the last 3 days on the phone with management and although I have been told theyd replace the unit, they have not. I have been told 3 times now that Id get a call back within 24 hrs and never have. They are totally giving me the runaround and flat out lies.I have been without a fridge for 14 days now... with several children. No milk, no cheese, etc. It is a nightmare. If I had known the horrible customer service issues, Id have just gone out and bought a different brand fridge weeks ago. I guess Im a sucker for believing that the company might actually want to provide a satisfactory customer experience. Not being on hold for 45 min while a recording repeatedly chimes your time is valuable to us.

Loved the size and look of this double door bottom freezer, made a little noise from time to time after 6 months in the freezer section, no big deal, very occasional... One morning 18 months after purchase while trying to make lunches and manage the usual morning routines of all work of families with kids, found all food soft or going soft in freezer!! Food in fridge was cool but not usual cold. Temp readings still said 0 for freezer and 37 for fridge... I called dealer who sold it to us, of course, Not his problem. Called LG who initially insisted I had a smart diagnosis feature which I did not, another 20 min wasted, finally a repairman comes over. Spends 10 min and tells us it will be almost $400 to fix for a new fan and compressor???? What??? I just bought this thing!! LG, you must be kidding me... not buying into your company anymore. Like EVER.

Bought top load washer & dryer. Very first load ripped almost new $85 shirt and washcloth half. Called LG and they sent repair person out to view shirt and washcloth. Told to return it to HH Gregg and get a new washer, did so and contacted LG to pay for shirt. After sending tons of pictures, many calls, they refused to pay since I no longer had the original machine (go figure??? Their LG repair person said to return it). Often have to rewash clothes, not enough water, loud, major wrinkles, etc. Then a recall for the machine comes and schedule appointment with LG for repair person to handle recall. They come out, update software to the machine??? and then tell me not to wash anything in the machine that sheds water (waterproof? like mattress covers, etc.). Hmmm. Then he tells me my dryer doesnt dry because there are sensors in the dryer that get coated with dryer sheet film and it confuses the dryer. Oh and the replaced machine ripped another shirt, even though you have to button shirts, pants, and turn inside out!!!! LG washers/dryers dont wash and dry like regular washers and dryers we have all been used to in the past. The new save water costs more water and electricity by having to rewash and dry so many times. LG COULDNT CARE LESS EITHER AFTER YOU HAVE BOUGHT IT! We will never buy LG again and if you can hang onto your regular washer, do so. Its better for the environment and your state of mind.

This machine is horrible and LG is not backing the quality of their product! There was a recall on this machine and it took three visits by the repairman to finally get my machine working properly and then it was only under warranty for 90 days, which is about how long it lasted before the unbalanced load started again. LG will not fix the same problem that was never fixed properly from the beginning. I am very disappointed and after doing online research it is evident that there is a problem with the machine that LG needs to take care of.

This is the first LG product I have owned. After owning a washer/dryer set
This is the first LG product I have owned. After owning a washer/dryer set for 10 years with no problems made by Frigidaire, the dryer stopped heating. I gave in and decided it was time to upgrade my set (did a lot of shopping around). I purchased the set on 1/28/2012 (WT5001CW - Top load washer & DLE5001W-Electric Dryer) from HHGregg, cost $1701.58. On July 14th of 2012, the washer just stopped mid cycle with no power (clothes still wet inside it). One servicer in the state of KY services LG and could only get to it on 7/25. Power board was fried (order parts will be 3-5 business days to get and install because LG wont overnight the parts unless I paid for it). So now, we are looking at 8/1/2012 for a repair (the washer has a foul mildew odor since it has been filled with water since 7/14). With two young kids and a husband who works outdoors, not doing laundry isnt an option; so I have to pay a laundromat to get my clothes done since sitting for hours isnt feasible with a 20-month-old. LG was awful and couldnt care less if their product is bad and couldnt care less about a clients situation (I was lied to four times about finding another servicer to get to it faster and finally told that I would have to go with the first one). I was offered a laundry reimbursement on 7/26 (after at least 6 phone calls last week), but that was just a maybe. Once the washer is fixed, I can submit the claim for that and wait and see. I am disappointed in the service and product that LG offers. I was so excited to get this new pair and use them, but now I wish I had spent the extra money and gone Whirlpool or Maytag. I will never own another LG product again. Maybe I should sell this pair and cut my losses and move on.

Issue: The refrigerator (French door LFXS30766S) broke down on 7/4/2018, just couple days after two years warranty. Find out it’s “sealed system” issue and this is still covered by LG for five years. Called LG and reported the issue on 7/6/2018, they have created ticket and mentioned that they will find the technician and assign it. How many days since then? One month now. Technician is yet to come my home and look into issue. In between, I have called so many times to LG, each time their answer is standard, they are still trying to find the technician and escalating the ticket or creates new ticket, which is nothing but their excuse to tell customer to wait for 3-5 business days. I wonder why no technician wants to work with LG, whoever I talked to they either says they are two far away from my destination or they don’t work with LG. I have even asked LG if they can assign work order to “Sears home service” they are reliable and guarantee they will come, but LG says it is not possible for them to assign the work order to Sears. Why? No idea. After so many phone calls and many tickets where are we? Nowhere near the resolution. I wouldn’t recommend LG product anymore. Settlement that I am looking: LG assign reliable tech which I can count on or refund the money.

I ignored the reviews that said the front load washer leaks. LG will not cover the leaking door in the WARRANTY. It’s a handsome machine, looks great, washes well - but have a rag, sponge, or mop handy because the DOOR LEAKS. MY WASHER IS 6 months old. We have done around 8 loads of wash. We are a couple with no children yet, so we dry clean most of our clothing and have little to wash. The first time it leaked I thought it was a fluke. The second time I ignored it. This machine is pricey and for the money, you should get a PERFECT MACHINE! I am warning people to read reviews then ask a few sales people if the door leaks and they will tell you, YES IT LEAKS. IF THEY SAY IT DOESNT, GET IT IN WRITING! Until LG deals with this problem, they shouldnt be allowed to sell this washer. The puddle gets bigger with each load. I wonder when the floor will be covered with water. We clean the door, the rubber gasket and dont pack clothes into it. Our other front load washer by a different manufacturer does not leak and we have had that pair at our summer house for eight years with no problems. Dont waste $1000 Dollars on a machine that leaks because Home Depot and LG will not help you. LIFE’S GOOD WHEN YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING AND IT WORKS!

Purchased an LG glass top range in August of 2014. Am the only person in the household using the above product, not being used that often. The very first time I use the cleaner provided by LG it takes off the black top surface from one of the elements. Called 18885422623 and the person I talked to said theres nothing they can do - is cosmetic. Surely there has to be some defect for the black surface to come off after just one time cleaning with product provided by LG. I purchased my LG dishwasher on april 11, 2015. I did not purchase an extended warranty as LG was supposed to be a high end appliance company and felt the product would not require service right away. However, I was wrong. One week after my 1 year purchase date, the dishwasher had an oe error code flashing one morning, which I did not know what that meant. So I continue to use it and instead of running at night while sleeping I decided to run before we went to bed. The dishwasher when first starting had a loud grinding noise, which sounded like it was trying to take off and start flying.I went online to find that this is a problem with the dishwasher and the company does not back their warranty. I started a chat at 8:38 to resolve the issue and remained on the chat until 10:52, with no resolution. I then called the company direct. Spoke with a rep and a supervisor, both of which informed me my dishwasher had no warranty. Only after I had to contact Sears, get a duplicate receipt, upload it to them and they reviewed it. Since I got a discount on my dishwasher due to the door having had swirl marks on the front it voided any extended warranty. Therefore, I like many others will have to pay a serviceman to come repair my dishwasher that I purchased just over a year ago. I would tell anyone looking for any type of appliance. Do not buy LG anything!!! Their customer service is awful and their warranty is ridiculous.Update 5/13/16: I received from LG names and numbers of authorized repairman in our area. Called their repairman, was told by them Oh, maam, you are not in my service area. So, therefore, I have no one to service my dishwasher.

LG French Door Refrigerator is 1.5 years old and cooling system is intermittent, lost entire content of unit. The ice in the ice machine melted while I was away and ruined my hardwood floor ($450 repair for floor). The local authorized service techs said they have had others LG refrigerators have the same problem. Called LG and was able to schedule a technician to come out after 4 tries. I canceled before he came out because it was working again but since it was prior to the 24hr period they would not refund me. The tech said it would be hard to figure out what is wrong if it working. He suggested that he not come out and wait until or if it has problems again. He said he thinks it is the compressor which is $250 + 125 service call to fix but no guarantee that is the problem. Thank God the parts were under warranty. For a $2000 refrigerator I would of expected it to last more than 1.5 year and have no problems. My old 25 year old GE fridge is still working and never been serviced. LG customer service center is not terribly helpful; called a number of times, each time got a different story, they were only able to follow the script and there was no way to escalate to a supervisor - very frustrating. I usually look at the reviews before I buy. Did not this time but wish I had as I am not the only one to have this type of problem. LG not only has problem with their phones catching on fire and the tops of the washing machine coming off but now it looks like their refrigerators are junk also. Bottom line, will never buy an LG kitchen appliance again.

We brought an LG french door refrigerator model LMX28987 ST on September 9 2009. Jan 2010 the right side bin of the fridge door started to crack so we had to call customer service to get a replacement. A few months after that the top freezer door would not close shut, with ice forming around the edges. We called customer service to help us with this situation but all they told us was that they could not help us because our warranty expired. We asked to buy one right away but they said they count not extend it because it has already been over a year... so ridiculous. Now we have to pay for the damages of this fridge with the money in our own pockets when the company could not even build a fridge that can last us more than 2 years. Horrible customer service. I wouldnt even buy a single product from them again. Cheap materials that break so easily. Life is not good with LG products in the house.

Love my big LG with the freezer in the pullout bottom door. Very handy but it can be troublesome. I dont use the ice maker so I know that’s not the problem. If someone doesnt entirely close the freezer door, frost forms quickly. Once closed, defrosting builds up ice in the bottom and the door becomes almost impossible to close properly and water drips onto the floor in front. The solution is fairly easy. Take out the freezer basket from the main drawer and unplug the fridge. Within about 15 minutes you can pry up at the corner of the ice chunk and lift it out in one big chunk. Put the stuff back together and make sure the door seals properly. Turn it back on and put a note on the door to make sure people close it properly after use.

We bought a wonderful french door stainless LG frig with all the features we wanted. Twice we woke up and the fridge temperature was above 45F. We thought that we left a door open or the power had gone out. On the third time - with water everywhere in the kitchen and the interior temperature above 50F we called LG and asked for repair. The fridge is less than 15 months old and we paid $2975. It took most of the day to get through all of the automated phone questions, when we finally spoke to a person they said that they would arrange for a repair company to contact us. That took 3 days before we heard from a company (who gets 1 star reviews on yelp) and it took more than a week for them to schedule a repair person who confirmed what LG told them needed to be done. It has been more than 3 weeks and we still do not have our refrigerator repaired. We have had 3 canceled repair appointments and one that did not show up. LG needs to do better than this. We purchased the top of the line refrigerator - this is our third LG fridge and two of them have had problems but their lack of response for repair is unbelievable. We actually got a call from them asking about our customer service experience - how about terrible? We are living out of an ice chest and all of our food has been ruined 3 times. And we still do not have a working fridge.

I bought a refrigerator with an LG compressor in it in September of 2016. Two days ago it stopped working. I looked at the warranty, parts are covered for 1 year and the compressor is covered for 10 years. After I had a tech out to look at the problem the total cost to repair the fridge was $850 which included a free compressor that was covered under the warranty. The issue was all of the other parts that were damaged by the oil leaking out of the faulty compressor are not covered under the parts warranty. This is a total scam by LG who made inferior products. The tech told me the replacement would be the compressor that just broke and I would be back in the same spot 2-3 years from now. Does LG think 2-3 year for a refrigerator is a normal life span??

I have had this washing machine 3 years now. We have two kids so we do a load a day. The machine washes satisfactorily. But then again, most washing machines do. What I would like to caution you against are the high cost of spare parts you WILL NEED as well as the complexity of repairing this machine. When I finally bought this machine, I had read a few reviews about how the rubber gasket inside the door started to smell badly after 6 months or so. I was so enticed by the steam part of the deal that I overlooked this point. Sure enough this Tromm washer has a huge rubber gasket inside the door. This part is very hard to clean as it has a concealed ledge inside. IT WILL START SMELLING after a few months of use no matter how much you clean the tub with bleach or how many times you clean the gasket. Your clothes will smell rotten after a wash. And when they dry they smell musty. This part which costs $130 can be changed by an appliance repair service. It is very hard to do it yourself because the machine has to be opened. Total cost for replacing the gasket is $253. Next... the drain pump will break also. Give it a couple of years or so. The drain pump costs $60 to replace and with the service call that comes to another $210 total. I was amazed the work that was needed to change this pump. First of all, the pump is located in the worst possible place, and the Tromm needs to be opened in multiple places to access this pump. The job took 45 minutes to replace the pump.I am now looking into a Whirlpool clothes washer and after investigating the same parts it seems they are much cheaper and much easier to change if the machine needs to be repaired. I for one will not be buying another LG steam washer.

I purchased the LG washer a year ago. I have been dissatisfied since day one. Tried every cycle, but the clothes are all tangled up at the end of every cycle. You try to take the clothes apart and end up with a left arm of a shirt twice the length of the other. Its awful, the clothes come out all stretched out from trying to pull them apart. I loved my old FRONT load washer. All clothes were washed properly. With this top load, not all clothes get a good wash. Never again top load. No use calling LG. They will tell me: Too bad sucker. We got you for 2K.

We bought an LG Refrigerator back in 2013 and had problems with it closing properly, since day one. Over time my produce would not stay as fresh, so about a month ago we had it professionally moved to our garage for a backup fridge (to keep drinks cold). Due to it being a much warmer setting it caused my unit to have to work in overdrive to keep it cool. In return causing it to overheat and it stopped cooling the fridge and freezer causing everything in the freezer to spoil. I paid $90 for a technician to come out and he diagnosed it with a bad sealed system (which let me had that the sealed system was a terrible concept). LG said they will warranty the part but I am responsible for the $1,000 labor :( I will never again purchase an LG product for the reason. Poorly made and do not back up their poorly made products!!!

My husband came home tonight to the alarming smell of gas as I was in our family room with a mild headache, I wasn’t sure what had triggered it. He immediately started opening up all the windows. To my horror, the gas knob on our LG gas range (model LSG4513ST.BSTELGA) was in on position with no blue flame visible. Had he not been home to smell the gas leak, I could have easily DIED! Yes DIED!!! It is not the first time this gas range has been in the”on” mode unintentionally. It’s been two hours now that the windows have been open in this hot AZ summer, as we continue to air out the house. Unacceptable LG!!!! I now come to realize after reading the numerous disturbing reviews, this is an ongoing defect in their product. I’m not taking any chances with my family’s safety. We will be shopping for a new safer range ASAP. Please do not buy this range new or used. Like others have said, this needs to be discontinued before someone is in danger of losing their lives. Not an exaggeration.

We purchased all LG products and all of them have not lived up to our stand
We purchased all LG products and all of them have not lived up to our standards. The biggest problem is the knobs on the gas stove. The knobs should be ruled as DEFECTIVE and DANGEROUS. In my career I travel quite a bit and even though I have adult kids at home sometimes they do not notice when the gas is on because of the broken knobs. The white plastic on the insides have cracked causing the knobs to just turn but not completely turning the stove off. I have contacted LG and I too have been told to purchase new knobs, however you can purchase the knobs but the problem is still not fixed. I noticed that the new LG stoves have knobs that are very steady. Why not just replace the old knobs with the newer model knobs. I pray that before anything happens like gas explosions, gas leaks etc., they would ruled out that the knobs are defective and update all the former customers with the new knobs. A couple of thousand dollars is better than a couple of million for major lawsuits.

I like everything about my refrigerator – the style and the features. It had everything that I wanted. That was why I bought it but I will never buy LG anything again. I took out a warranty and tried to deal with LG on that. They sent a service that they use for repair but I went through three months of a freezer and refrigerator that did not work with Jessup’s Major Appliance Centers in Sarasota, Florida. They put in three different compressors and none of them worked. LG knew that they had a problem with the compressors. The repairman had been trying to fix them all over the state of Florida. I was told they were not gonna send their repairman out again after all that. But finally, they said they would come and put one more in. That fourth one finally worked. But they put me through hell. I even had to buy a little refrigerator. Thank God Jessup’s gave me one that I had to put on the carport and go outside to my refrigerator. But that was totally unbelievable customer service.

Purchased an LG microwave, refrigerator and range 2 years ago. In the first 24 hours the condenser went out on refrigerator, had to wait 4 months for replacement due to back orders. Then 3 months ago the range start button decided to die (which controls clock and oven). Paid 100.00 for a repairman to tell me I would need a new motherboard for one button, which would cost over 450.00. Of course, I called customer service and went back and forth for 1 month to be told, sorry it is 2 years old. Well, I guess they only make appliances to last a minimal amount of time. Last week, I opened the microwave and the ???? vent fell off in my hands. Run to American made, these are junk!!!

Seems like from the very beginning we had issues. The water filters don’t last as long as they should, the main fridge door hinge got bent (somehow)? We had a serviceman come out to inspect. He wanted 300.00$ to replace a 50$ part. No way! I ended up getting small magnets to try and pull the door gasket closed, this kinda worked at best. And now, yesterday the whole fridge cooling system died? I pulled the fridge out, cleaned the coils, hoping for the best. This did nothing. Unfortunately service calls are out almost a month. We need it fixed now!! Food is going bad. We ended up buying a new GE Profile fridge. We’ll never buy anything LG again!!!

We purchased our LG Electric Range November 2011. The oven was in need of cleaning, so I started the self-cleaning feature as I have done 2 or 3 times previously. The door locked and the cleaning began. When it was done, even after cooling off. The door is still locked shut and the whole control panel is blacked out, rendering the stove top useless as well. There is absolutely nothing working. We checked the breaker and all connections. Everything is in order. So we called our local repair company and they told us that they have had multiple calls about this same issue. My husband called LG and spoke with a couple of people there including a manager. The first person told us that the self-cleaning feature should be used every couple of months to keep it working properly. We told her that it doesnt say that anywhere in the manual. Basically they said, Sorry we cant help you. This is an engineering defect. And should be taken care of by LG. The lady from our repair company said that on some of the ranges, the cook top has cracked because of the heat. We are very disappointed in this company. And will never buy LG products again.

I purchased a top of the line three thousand dollar plus refrigerator in February 2014. The refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling. All of the lights work and all of the lights, indicator lights on the door panel work as well. I was away for the day and arrived home late in the evening so I did not go into or look at the refrigerator. The following morning, I noticed water dripping from the water and ice dispenser only to realize that everything in the refrigerator and the freezer defrosted and reach temperatures causing everything to spoil. I immediately contacted LG and they ran an over the phone diagnostic only to tell me that the unit was not operating properly. I could have told them that. When I said that I live in Arizona in a rural area and need emergency assistance, they stated they could not get anyone out to be for the next 4 to 5 days. How am I supposed to live without a refrigerator? They also told me that they hold no responsibility for all of the ruined food. This unit is still under warranty but that does help my situation as their commitment to service in unacceptable. When I went to purchase this top of the line unit, I was told by some folks not to buy an LG refrigerator as two separate folks stated they own LG fridge and have had nothing but problems. When I researched the reviews on this fridge, it received high marks. Taking that into consideration and the fact that the two folks who had problems with their units had them for over two years, I figured that LG made the necessary improvements to their refrigerator so I went ahead with the purchase. In summary: I will never again buy any LG product. I will never recommend an LG product and I will inform whom ever I know to stay away from LG no matter what the reviews state as I am not confident that they are authentic.

I have been dealing with this for 5 months (after my first issue a year ago) and it is still ongoing. This is the second time the compressor has gone out and we can not get one of LGs service techs to get the parts needed and repair this. It should have been replaced months ago but the customer service department is useless. Do Not Buy This or any LG product. The aggravation alone is not worth it.

I bought an LG French door refrigerator 3 years ago and I wish I would have seen these reviews back then. Please DO NOT purchase an LG refrigerator! Listen to the people who wrote the bad reviews and do your homework. We all have the same reoccurring problem. The compressors fail by the most 3 years. Mine failed after 3 years and then again after 2 months. Twice in two months I lost my food. The first time in January of 2020 and then again in April 2020. They compensated me the first time for food loss but the second time they denied me because they said 12 months have to go by before they can compensate me again. Whoever thought this would happen again within 2 months. This time I lost more food cause I made sure I had enough food to last me for 3 weeks since we are in quarantine. It is very stressful during these times to try to stay safe while shopping. I had to wait one week for a repair man to come and worry about us staying safe and distant when he was repairing. I lost all my food and had to purchase a limit amount of food to fit in my cooler with ice. This imposed a tremendous inconvenience since I had to shop at least three times that week. I called customer service and all they could say was sorry about that maam. Are they really sorry? This was not my fault but a product failure and they should be responsible to accommodate their customers with their needs. I paid $4,000 for this fridge and I did not expect this to happen so soon. This must happen quite often so they implemented a rule about compensating after twelve months. Be careful. Life is not all Good with LG.

I owned an LG refrigerator that after eleven months and 25 days (five days before the warranty ran out) developed water leaks in two different areas and failed to chill in the cooler section. The company would not stand by the warranty. Executive customer service is a weasel nest, arrogant and totally non-responsive. Run from any retailer that handles LG.

WM4270H and DLEX4070. Cleaner clothes than the horrible Maytag Neptune/dryer is done before next load in washer. Units are 4 years old. Very quiet operation. Wanted a dryer with a steam fresh option which this LG does have. Washer does not wear out clothes as previous Maytag unit. Regular repairs and quality of construction, very important to me. Unit still looks brand new after 4 years of use and not the first problem with units. I had nice shirts that were stained with grease. Previous unit did not remove those stains so used shirts for the lawn. Used the sanitary cycle on the LG washer with no change in detergents and stains were removed. I am assuming this is due to the LG heating up the water that dissolve the grease.

I purchased the LG WT5101HW Wave Series ultra large capacity high efficiency top load washer with LED display, ColdWash technology, 1100 RPM, energy star compliant on January 1, 2011 after spending hours on Consumer Reports looking for the best machine. I purchased the machine from Appliance Connection and even though they encouraged me to purchase the extended warranty, I did not. I now have an EO error that will not go away. I checked on the LG website and the only remedy was to remove the hose and look for blockages and to check the filter. I did check the hose, there was no kinking and no blockage. There is no filter in the drain line, the only filters are in the hot and cold water supply lines which have nothing to do with water draining from the machine. The only way to get the machine to drain is to have the line lower than the tub, which is not feasible because I do not want the dirty water draining on the floor or for that matter, anywhere other than the drain line. When the error occurred, the machine had a load of towels and we had to wring the towels out and remove the water manually by dipping it out with a small bucket. This took a great deal of time and energy. The LG representative told me that I need a service call and the company that performs the maintenance is 1.5 hours from where I live and cannot respond until Friday between 8 and noon. This is very frustrating to have an issue that may or may not be corrected before the weekend because the technician may or may not have the parts. I also checked the company that is to respond to the service call and they have had several negative comments from former customers. I have now read the comments on this site and am apprehensive as to whether I will have a satisfactory outcome. I am also contacting Consumer Reports since I relied on their evaluation of this washer. I also purchased a dryer and I did get a 4-year extended warranty, which I will probably need. I had a Maytag washer that is now being used by my son and his college roommates. I may ask for it back!

After contacting LG they told us to defrost the fridge. We did that every four months as needed. Now after just four years we woke up to the refrigerator at forty degrees and everything melted in the freezer and now all the food has gone bad. Today we spent literally five hours on the phone with service and tech dept. until I wanted to cry in frustration. We have an LG LRE30755ST that we purchased in May of 2007. It was manufactured in April of 2007. On April 6, 2012, while cooking dinner in the oven, a loud humming noise started and we noticed there was a fire inside the oven. I immediately grabbed the kids and ran, and my husband shut the oven down and grabbed the extinguisher. After it cooled down, it appears some sort of wiring between the warming drawer and the bottom of the oven caused the fire and it burned a hole through the bottom of the oven. I contacted LG about this, even though it was out of the 1 year warranty and the only thing they had to offer was to send out a technician to perform a diagnostic test for $89. I told her there was nothing to diagnose, there is a hole burned in the bottom of my oven, it needs to be replaced. The agent simply said, Im sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We are furious as this is a very dangerous product and have seen several other reports of the exact same circumstances, yet the product has not been recalled, simply/conveniently discontinued. If we had been in another room, this could have been a major fire and done damage to our home. LG needs to be held accountable for their poor products.

Evaporator defrost cycle and drain hole freeze up: LG design flaw allows ic
Evaporator defrost cycle and drain hole freeze up: LG design flaw allows ice build-up, which in turn leads to fan damage or stoppage that stops cold air from reaching the upper section. If this condition is not corrected by unplugging the drain hole, the water that normally goes down into the catch pan to be evaporated away ends up dripping through the bottom freezer cooling vents and freezing to the bottom freezer floor. The only way to correct this is to remove the back plastic cover and expose the evaporator coil where the ice build-up must be melted and removed, along with defrosting the drain hole so that water is allowed to flow freely again. Attach a small copper wire to the heating line, which is just under the evaporator coil, and thread it down into the drain hole. This will help to keep the hole open by transferring some heat to the drain hole during the defrost cycle, thus melting any ice that has built up during the cooling cycle. There are some excellent YouTube instructions online on how to remove all the plastic parts without doing damage. Good luck.

LG WT4670CW Clothes Washer - This machine is alleged to be self balancing.
LG WT4670CW Clothes Washer - This machine is alleged to be self balancing. If it fails to spin in out of balance, it refills the tub, churns a bit and tries again. It may do this several times and not succeed. At which point it leaves it up to the user to shuffle clothes or remove clothes to continue. It is likely to fail again and go through additional cycles attempting to balance. This uses immense amounts of water and time. If it fails completely it may leave the tub full of water with no manual way of emptying it to start over. This machine is supposed to allow the washing of 10 pair of jeans or your bed spread or whatever. Good luck. This particular model is quite poorly designed. At something over $500 this item is a one year throwaway. We replaced an old front loading Gibson with this that was ten times the machine this is. We paid $100 bucks for it at a yard sale. I dont know about other LG models but this one is very poor.

I just purchased a LG dishwasher LDP6797BB from Home Depot on 10/9/17, it was delivered on 10/17. We installed it ourselves (no issues there). Once we had the dishwasher all installed and confirmed no leaks, I went to run the dishwasher through a full cycle (as recommended). I powered on the machine only to get this code L2, I pulled the book out to find out this code means, luckily (according to the book) this is not an error it is a Rinse Agent code... However, the book does not tell you how to clear this code. So I called LG customer service, I was told I had to reset the machine at the circuit breaker. OK so I do that, machine is reset, machine works (thank God). When the cycle completes, I load the dishwasher with dishes and power on the machine... L2 AGAIN, reset AGAIN, did not work, reset breaker again. I have done this 1 MILLION TIMES in a week (and yes there is rinse agent in the machine). I have called LG, they are no help. They have no techs on staff that you can speak to, I know this is an easy fix, but they insist on sending a tech to my home. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY LG AGAIN... I called the LG Washer Recall Hotline first thing Monday morning. I was told that I would get a call in three to five business days to schedule an appointment. Thats a long time to wait just to get the appointment. So I called Best Buy since I bought an extended warranty of 5 yrs (glad of that!). They are not allowed to service recall problems. So, today being day four of the five-day wait, I thought Id call the service provider they assigned me to. No answer, but I left a message. I thought what the heck, maybe I should call LG back. Guess what? They made an error, the man said. They never gave the repair facility a phone # to reach me at. Gee, I would think someone would look at the repair order and figure that out! So, here I sit with laundry piling up because I have an inoperable machine. The drum came off! Im just lucky nothing was ruined inside of it when this happened. Im so shocked by this ineptitude. I once had a GE refrigerator go out. I called the company and told them it was maybe four years old. They had two people out to replace the motor the same day. What a difference from LG! Oh, and my LG is three years and four months old. I hear Speed Queen is the best, but I never see it sold anywhere! I would caution everyone to avoid LG!

I bought an LG side-by-side refrigerator in Aug. 2009. It has been a problem since it was delivered. The first one was replaced and a new model was brought out. This one has been a nightmare since. The ice maker freezes up and does not work; you only get shaved ice. It has leaked to the point that it has bubbled the paint and rusted around the bottom of the exterior part of the ice maker. I have contacted the extended warranty company Assurance, which I purchased. They have been out for four different occasions and replaced the ice maker. They said there was nothing they could do about the rusted and peeled paint.I contacted LG and they said it was something I intentionally did to the refrigerator otherwise, it would not have done it. I was told by NFM that the extended warranty would cover all defects. Under the LEMON law, after 3 times and it would be replaced. Aug 23, 2011, I contacted Assurance and the representative gave a claim number and said it would be replaced; transferred me to an underwriter and he informed me in no circumstances did I have an extended warranty that had a Lemon Law Clause in it. It would have had to be added separately. I told him I never heard of that. He explained that he would not exchange this product for that reason and I would have to contact Nebraska Furniture Mart, which I did and still waiting to hear from them. LG makes the worse products and hopefully, the government will step in and take away their right to sell this crap in the USA. I have also told them the freezer has problems also; freezes up too much or not enough, and the refrigerator part stays cold or freezes everything.

It was a very big refrigerant. Very spacious. Very cold. It had big shelves. Large ice maker that was very big. Stayed cold all time. Everyone should have one. If I can get another one I would. It was over my expectations. I love LG appliances. I think everyone should own them. But since they cost so much not everyone can own them and its too bad save on energy. I always save hundreds when I switch to LG. I havent had to call him her repairman not once because you dont have after your warranty. We had LG appliances 2010.

We purchased our LG refrigerator in 2012, French door with ice maker. Please be aware our ice maker once again has ceased to work. This will be our 4th ice maker to be replaced, IF we have it replaced, since 2012. Even though we purchased it in 2012, we are not eligible for the flat rate repair cost, (only eligible for models from 2012) and apparently, as per LG, it was manufactured in 2011. I have never been so unhappy with this refrigerator therefore would never recommend LG to anyone. And, as a side note, the paint is already coming off from below the ice maker on the outside. We called LG and explained this all to them but they were unable to help us. This has been such a frustrating experience for us.

I purchased this refrigerator on 12/07/2018. From day one the ice maker did not work. Upon contact with LG they scheduled repair. First company failed to show twice. Ice make replaced twice. No fix. Then they required a second company to come. Again ice make replaced along with hoses and finally they sent a brand new door. Still the ice maker does not work. Today This repair company contacted the technical center to disclose it was not repairable. Tenth appointment. It is now August 12th, 2019 and I do not have this problem repaired. Beyond frustrated. You do not spend this type of money to have something not function. I would love to understand how this is good customer service.

Ive bought front load machines in red color. It has a sensor type of thing. Anytime I wash something, it uses such a little water, I have to wash the same thing for three times. Also, dryer is the same way, it has a sensor and It stop drying the clothing before they are actually dry. I have to repeat the same cycle for dry three or more times. I set it on 55 minutes dry time, and in 10 minutes the machine stops with a signal of complete dry which is not complete. It bothers me. They werent cheap and it says less vibration and thats not true, my whole house shake from it. I wouldnt recommend to anyone! I bought a new LG washer and dryer to replace a 15 year old washer and dryer that ironically still worked fine. The new LG washer and dryer have paint jobs like a Ferrari but they are more like a Yugo in quality. The dryer had a complete computer board failure ($200 repair) and now the washer has a transmission issue that not surprisingly is not covered by the 10 year transmission warranty. Now, I sign on this website and find out why all my clothes smell like mildew too! I would strongly recommend against an LG product.

We purchased an LG front loading washer and dryer in February 2010 at Best Buy. Recently the mother board went out on the DLE2350W dryer ($350 replacement cost) only to find out that in Canada, LG warranties this item for three years and in the United States only 1 year. After visiting with the recommended LG repair service, we have found that this is a common problem and can go out even after one year.I have reviewed several blogs that have customer reviews and found a common theme in that LG has very poor post-sale product service. Im safe to say we will not buy another LG product and will recommend to others not to as well. We have always had excellent service from Sears and will return to them once again. If you do your due diligence and review customer comments, you will find my views are shared by many. This is unfortunate for a company whose tag is Living Good.

I have a 2-1/2 year old LG french door, bottom freezer refrigerator that I purchased from Sears for $3,000. While on vacation, the entire unit stopped cooling. Called Sears to service. Because it was a sealed system issue, LG covered parts but not labor. 4 visits, $480 later, and 4 WEEKS WITHOUT A WORKING REFRIGERATOR, the unit is still not working. The compressor was replaced, the evaporator was replaced, the dryer value was replaced, as well as 2 valve assemblies.I call LG and they tell me I need another repair company to look at it. I pay another $100 for them to tell me they think it needs another compressor which will cost me another $300 and there is no guarantee that will fix the problem. Unit still isnt cooling, freon is low, and you can hear the freon now gurgling loudly through the unit. I have called LG at least a dozen times. Lucky if you can get someone who speaks English that is understandable. My question to them was, will they deem it a lemon and offer me a buyout or replacement if compressor doesnt fix the problem. They cannot give me an answer. So now I paid $3,000 for this refrigerator, close to $600 already in labor charges trying to fix it and it still does not work and LG will continue to allow this nightmare to continue until God knows when. I am wheeling this piece of crap to the curb and cutting my losses which is EXACTLY what LG wants. You win LG! I will post on every social media account everywhere that I can until your company is out of business. We need a class-action lawsuit against LG as well. Any lawyer interested, please contact me. LG MAKES JUNK! THEIR WARRANTIES ARE JUNK! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS JUNK! THEY DEFRAUD THEIR CUSTOMERS! I cannot stress it enough. Do not buy any LG products! Please!

I bought a new LG WT7900 Washer (their top-of-the-line top-load machine) in May 2020 (3 months ago). The direct-drive motor now makes a very loud grinding noise (even though the motor has a 10-yr warranty). Ive since learned that this is a common issue thats been going on for nearly a year. I called the LG 800# found in the Owners Manual. They scheduled a repair appointment with their third-party repair service (A&E Factory Service, which also goes by the name Sears Appliance Repair... really????). I took the first-available a.m. appointment, thinking thatd increase my chances of them actually showing up.My Service appointment was scheduled for 7am-11am today (Aug 8, 2020). You guessed it... NO ONE showed up, or even bothered to contact me (other than a confirmation text I got yesterday). So I called their 800#, and was on hold an HOUR before getting a live person (guessing lots of people are having similar experiences since their phone lines are so busy??). When I finally get someone, he says he needs to put me on hold while he investigates the issue. But after being on hold another 10 minutes, the line disconnected. So now I have a brand new LG Washing Machine that doesnt work, and LG is taking no responsibility to fix it or replace it.

After reading numerous positive consumer reports over a year ago, we bought a front loader LG washing machine. I believe the reviews were all a hoax as this washing machine is garbage. As many other reviews state, the clothes come out smelly and not cleaned. It takes 3 hours to do a load of laundry as I have to keep re-doing the cycle and adding extra rinses to get the suds out - and I use the smallest amount possible of the detergent. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE.

Just removed our kitchen last year. We brought this microwave in Aug 2017. Only lasted 14 months. One day was heating a biscuit, it started popping smell like wires were burning. Now it doesnt heat. Was told $125.00 just to come out. If it took longer than 15 minute to repair it would be another $65.00 up to $175.00. We decided that buying another brand would be better for us. We will never again buy a LG product. Our other microwave is a GE Profile and is over 7 years old and never had any problems. I wish I would have done a better job checking out LG appliances.

We purchased the LG Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model #LFX25960ST in May of 2007. 1st issue was the Product Consumer Energy Rating. The Energy Rating LG gave was less than the average energy the fridge used. I receive a check from LG (I think) every quarter to make up the difference in energy used (around $4.00). Next came the ice maker. The ice maker would freeze up and overflow with water or just stopped working all together. The ice dispenser in the door has never crushed Ice the way it should. We had 3 service calls on ice maker issues, 2 of which the ice maker had to be replaced. Still does not crust ice the way it should. I just gave up trying to get it fixed. Then I noticed that the hard wood floors in front of the fridge were starting to warp. Ceiling tiles in basement showed where water had leaked from kitchen above. We pulled down the tiles but were unable to find a leak. We pulled out the fridge and saw where water had wet the sheetrock and floor behind the fridge. Thinking there was a leak in the plumbing behind the fridge we ripped out the sheetrock, finding nothing. We then decided to leave the fridge pulled out to try and determine where the water was coming from. About 30 minutes later, I returned to the kitchen and noticed that water was spewed to the right side of the fridge and all across the dining area, approx. 15. We turned off the water going to the fridge and contacted LG. 2 days later a repairman came in an immediately noticed the warped flooring. He the checked the ice maker and the fridge and found nothing. He turned the water back on and asked me to dispense water from the water/ice dispenser. When I pushed the water dispenser, water, again, shot out all across the kitchen and dining room. The repairman was then able to show us where the line coming from the valve on the fridge to the filter had split. He stated the line was faulty and would have to be replaced. 2 weeks later the repairman returned and replaced the faulty line. LG did pay for fridge repairs and repairs to my floor but nothing for the downtime or aggravation we endured. Then we had issues with the interior light in the fridge. It would stay on even when the fridge was closed. Again we contacted LG for repair. Now after having this fridge for only 7 years, the entire cooling system, fridge and freezer, has gone out, resulting in ruined and sour food. We contacted LG again. My husband spoke with the lady from LG. At one point in the conversation, he told the lady, Im sorry, I know this isnt your fault, but Im very aggravated right now dealing again with this Lemon of a refrigerator. The LG Supervisor then told him I understand your aggravation, but you are just going to get even more aggravated when you hear what I have to say. I cannot help you because the refrigerator is out of warranty. WHAT??? Who says that??? Where is the customer service??? So now Im stuck paying an $85.00 service call plus replacement parts and labor to fix ANOTHER issue with this LG Refrigerator. I am so done with anything LG.

My experience with LG is good, but since we bought our fridge, about two weeks later, the ice making part freezes. And then something happened where they had to come and change some part on the top of the box that was not making the ice. You press the button, and they wouldn’t come out. They had to change something right after not even a month after we bought. LG always are good because we have a washer and dryer LG. So, when I went to Costco and I saw the refrigerators over there, I liked the way they look. Also, theyre nice because the ice maker was on the door and not inside of the refrigerator. We needed a bigger space refrigerator. This is how I picked mine. I like the way how it’s designed in it. The freezer part of it is great. It has several layers. And the drink drawer is perfect. So, it’s very well-designed and made. I love it. I will recommend LG.

Worst. Dishwasher. Ever. The tines collapse. The tines are too short and spaced poorly so the plates flop over and dont get clean. Dishes chip. The dishwasher rack derails because the rack is a little too narrow and the rollers arent wide enough to stay on the rail. It derails constantly. Then I have to try to lug a heavy rack back onto the rails and then it derails in the other direction. Detergent door doesnt click into place. Dishes often do not get clean. Purple plastic pieces holding the adjustable tines pop off and rows of tines fall into the dishwasher bottom. The pump has failed 4 or 5 times in 3 years, either blocked or defective. I made repeated, polite complaints to the company when problems persisted past the warranty period. LG DOESNT BACK THEIR PRODUCT! I paid $899 and Im replacing it with a Bosch that costs half of that. I have had nothing but problems with our LG Waveforce top load washing machine. Since day one, it has been unbalanced in almost every single load. It doesnt matter if its a small load, normal size or large load. It is always unbalanced. Because of this issue, the machine tries to fix itself, which ends up using 2-3 times the amount of water just trying to get it balanced. So, when you buy this unit thinking you will save money of your water bill and that its energy efficient, think again. The 45-minute load ends up taking 2 hours and 3 times the water. Another issue I have had is the pulsator. It just pops off the bottom of the drum in the spin cycle. We have had to fix it multiple times and now is unfixable. We will either need to replace the whole inner part or buy a new washer. I have called LG multiple times with no help at all whatsoever. I wish I could go back to my old Kenmore washing machine that lasted 15 years with no problems at all.

We purchased an LG fridge 3 years ago based on their advertising saying that their lifespan is at least 20 years, that along with their innovative features was the reason why we ended up buying it... Fast forward, right after it broke the 3-year mark it just stopped cooling so one day we woke up to a pool of water all over the kitchen and we found out that EVERYTHING on the freezer was fully thawed, and this happened just right after we went to do the groceries so the whole fridge was FULLY stocked with food... We had to throw away most of our food, hundreds of dollars wasted... And the worst just happen after this...We found out that this is a common issue with LG fridges and that their technicians are taking weeks, sometimes months to come repair your fridge, what??!! What are we supposed to do now? To wait blindly for weeks or even months for them to come repair it? To go out and eat EVERY SINGLE DAY 3 times? To spend thousands of dollars by doing that? And not to mention that we are in the middle of a Pandemic and that we have toddlers?? Not only LG products are this bad but their service towards honoring their warranty is bad as bad can be... Their customer support phone line NEVER answers your call so you are stuck in oblivion with a dead fridge and nobody to take responsibility of repairing it asap... We are adding ourselves to the class action suit against LG now...

I bought an LG side by side refrigerator for my home. Recently, I am a divorced single mother of a 2 year old, trying to start over. Here it is, one and a half years later and my fridge totally thawed out all of my meat in my refrigerator. My milk is spoiled and all of my meat and vegetables are rotted and ruined. I am barely scraping by paying the bills, starting over again and I should not have to be buying a fridge after a 1 1/2 years. This is ridiculous. Customer services are good in telling you that your warranty ended at 1 year and that is it. No, they have no sympathy. LG Washer WT1201CW - This machine is a piece of crap! We purchased this machine from Home Depot back on 1/5/2014. It is constantly out of balance. And it does NOT have anything to do with the load size. I have put in queen size sheets that will take up to 2 1/2 hrs to wash! Again, not overloaded, since I was told when I purchased it that it could handle a King Size comforter. And I select the bed/bulky cycle. And lets not discuss doing a load of towels. And my whites are no longer white! How can this machine be Energy Star when my old washer from 15 yrs ago washed the same load in less than an hr. I hate this machine. My girlfriend bought the same machine & returned it within 10 days because of its poor performance. The only reason I still have it is because it cost me an arm & a leg to purchase & I cannot afford to replace my appliances every 5 yrs. It also says that it is a TrueBalance. Right! I just put in a 1/2 load of whites at 7:40. It is now 9:45 with another 15 minutes to go, according to the display. But that is all dependent as to whether I need to shuffle my half load around again to TrueBalance it out again. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE! It is a piece of crap! I will never buy another LG appliance! When I shopped at Lowe’s for appliances, I heard about LG Refrigerators and I ended up selecting it. I’m not really happy with it. It wasn’t cooling and I lost all my food in the freezer. The technician came out and said that he fixed it but then, it got even worse. It went through a lot of repairs and a whole lot of different parts had to be ordered and replaced on it. There was a lot of technicians coming out here to fix it and delays with getting parts. So, it has not been a good experience for me. I’ve been talking to LG as well as the technician too. They had a contractor come out and he had to make two visits to get it repaired. Right now, it’s working, but I don’t know for how long. I haven’t even had it three years and this happened. I don’t think I’ll buy another LG refrigerator.

I’ve been wondering why my clothes have little holes in them, get pilly and faded so quickly, and even get tied in a knot sometimes when I do a load of laundry. I finally realized it’s the new washing machine (WT7600HWA). I am so disappointed. The spin cycle is so high that it’s causing little holes In my clothes. I believe it’s also causing the clothes to get all entangled and tied up in a knot which is difficult to untangle and make them a very wrinkled. I am very unhappy with this washing machine and very disappointed. I would not recommend it to anyone. I also don’t like the cycles are so long, why should I take an hour and a half to do a load of laundry? That uses more electricity and water that way as well.

LG reached out to get the refrigerator repaired. (It should not have broken so soon.) They need to do some improving with their servicing contacts. Speed up the communications. I will say that their service tech was top notch and the companies follow up with me was better than I expected. My fridge is working fine and it appears that LG tries to give the impression that they care.

Purchased stove, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator on May 07 2017. On 8/16/2020 our refrigerator stop working. Check the owner manual to see if there something we can but nothing, call LG customer service and was told that they need 48 hour for the repair to be approved, call this morning and was told that they have available 08/25/2020. This is unacceptable due to the fact that is almost brand new, we lost most of the food and by the way our dishwasher is not working either. Call two months ago and we was told that we need to pay for the repair, when I was told the the motor has ten years warranty and the error code that is giving is the motor.

I have several appliances and a television from LG. The dishwasher and the refrigerator motors stopped working within 5 years of purchase. I paid hundreds of dollars to have these appliances repaired and now the refrigerator is making that intermittent grinding noise that it made before. The repair people said they can only come back and evaluate if the noise is constant.LG looks pretty but the quality leaves something to be desired.
