We have had our LG French door refrigerator for 5 years. We paid $2,000 plus for it. It is now useless. We cannot get anyone to work on it. All the appliance repair places say they will not work on them. The companies LG recommended cant buy parts because their account is on hold. Got a repair estimate today for $1,200 and he said we had to buy the parts ourselves. LG will not sell us parts. We still had to pay for the service call. We have lost most of the food in our refrigerator over the last 2 days. Please do not buy LG.

Purchased two LG refrigerators both breaking down same way. Thought the first time was just defect; now after reading blogs and comments just poor manufacturing. On the first unit 1mth after buying, fresh food storage stopped keeping food cold and freezer stopped freezing. After 3 attempts to fix through LG, I refused a fourth try. They refused to exchange. Home Depot absorbed the loss and exchanged the refrigerator, which they didnt have to do. Now 2.5yrs later of course bought LG, like I said 1st time bad luck. Now again refrigerator not cooling, had to throw out food last night and again today and the freezer now not working, of course, warranty expired after first year, and they cant help me. Have 4 kids, can barely afford to buy food and make it last. Now Im throwing it away and cant get help. Why would a Refrigerator stop working only after 2 1/2 years? Poor manufacturing. After checking internet blogs and complaints, found out thousands of customers have had the same problems, have been reported it, and have gotten no help, have to pay out of pocket and have someone come in and diagnose the problem then order the part directly through LG. The company should be ashamed of its self for not resolving a problem like this when families buy their products because of past reputation of being reliable - $1200.00 paid and only lasted 2.5years. Now will cost me between $200.-300.00 for the repair. I will never recommend or purchase another LG product again. Thats why they only warranty their products for 1yr only. For a purchase this big and important storing food and knowing all families and people in general have the use for this item, they would have more integrity.

UPDATED ON 1/20/2021: We contacted LG about the problem that we experienced but to no avail. Even though their instruction booklet told us how to cook bacon (which we followed) the microwave caught fire. Apparently there was a problem with the unit. After going back and forth with them about this problem they finally e-mailed us a letter stating they would reimburse us the amount of money we spent for the microwave. The only thing that was required was that we purchase a new LG microwave, which we did. We had to send them copies of the purchase receipts from both microwaves and the labels off the old one, which we did in order to get the refund. We were then instructed to dispose of the old microwave. Unfortunately they did not hold up to their promise. After many calls on our part with promises of them getting back to us, with what appears no intentions of doing so. Now they are telling us that we were the cause of the problem, and will not refund our money even though they sent us the letter telling us otherwise.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Purchased a LG microwave about 5 months ago. While cooking food according to their instructions in their manual the microwave started on fire. Either the manuals instructions were wrong or the microwave malfunctioned. LG was called and a service person was sent out. We were informed by their service department that the service person they sent out would determine whether the microwave would be repaired or replaced. According to the service person we had been misinformed in that he does not make that decision, and that is left for someone else. We were told that he would turn in his report and we would be contacted. An engineer contacted us and said that the microwave did not malfunction and because there was a fire in it LG is not responsible. Why is it that we followed all the directions but yet they dont want to acknowledge that there is something wrong with the microwave? No pictures are available as damage was on the inside top of microwave.

Bought LG appliances for our new home a year ago; love the refrigerator & stove, but hate the dishwasher! I too, wish I had researched this website before purchasing. The dishwasher does get bad odors occasionally, & my husband checked the filter in it, but it was clean. I put a cup of vinegar in a wash cycle of dishes & it went away. The reason there was no food in the filter is because we thoroughly rinse, almost wash, the dishes before we run it 1-2 times a week! Very disappointed in the cleansing of the dishes! If a knife had mayo on it when put into the dishwasher, even a small amount, its still on there when it comes out! Doesnt clean coffee stains out of cups, either. I would never buy another LG Dishwasher or recommend it! It is very quiet, but I would trade the noise, for clean dishes! No other problems so far!

I used to have Frigidaire microwave and gas range via home builder (cheap builder), and it was total garbage and worthless. Its total game changer after I replaced with LG microwave and gas range after three years with Frigidaire. LG has great functionalities with dependability. Im also planning to replace my Kenmore refrigerator with LG signature refrigerator whenever its ready to go. LG is not very reliable on smartphones and/or tablets as Samsung electronics, but if you consider about buying home appliances and/or smart TVs, LG is the right choice.

Purchased in late 2011 as part of a range, fridge, microwave, dishwasher package deal from appliance warehouse. This is the third time Ive had to call for service and pay $60 charge each time on my homeowners warranty policy. The usual problem is burners that dont turn on and in the past, only a few would go out at a time, leaving me a workable burner or two. This time all are out and now the broiler is also down -- only the oven is working now. One service tech said the cables inside the panel were loose. How that happened, I don’t know because the range doesnt get jostled or moved around a lot. Another complaint within the first six months of purchase is an inside drip between the oven door double paned glass but Ive lived with ugly mess because the service tech couldnt fix it without taking the entire range to the shop for a week. But wait -- theres more LG product problems! The side-by-side door fridge problems have also cost me three service calls ($60 each). The icemaker frequently goes on strike for several months at a time and then on its own starts working again. Of course, this renders the ice dispenser constipated and totally useless. The cold water dispenser has the opposite problem and is often incontinent it keeps spewing water for several seconds after the drinking glass is removed.I believe LG must stand for Least Good and the range model number LRE30453ST must stand for Least Reliable Electric ** Stoves Terrible. I will never again purchase another LG appliance and recommend that other buyers also shop for another brand.

I have an LG refrigerator model LMXS30776D, which retails for $3999.99, it was manufactured in March of 2016. I have now had to replace the compressor, the evaporator coil and now the fan and controller. It took 3 months to get the compressor replaced. A month to get the evaporator coil replaced. I wonder how long it will take to get the fan fixed. This means that the unit has been broken for 1/4 of the time I have owned it.

I rarely give bad reviews but my experience has not been so good dealing with LG. On 2016 I purchased a gas double oven range for $1,600.00 and also purchased a 5 year warranty with it. Well a few weeks ago my stove top kept shutting off on its own while I am using it and would make a sound as if it was about to explode to the point it shook my oven twice in the process while I was standing in front of it. It scared me, I called the Home Depot protection plan and explained to them what was happening. I filed a claim on August 6, 2020. They sent me an email stating that my service appointment has been accepted, I received a text on August 14, 2020 stating that the technician will be there between 9am/4:pm.The day that they were supposed to come we get a call from the company that was supposed to come out to fix it that they are not coming because they do not service our area and that I need to call the Home Depot protection plan back. I called them the same day and told them what I was told and they told me they would look into it and let me know once they find someone that can service my area. When they didn’t call me I decided to call, Almost two weeks went by nothing so I called again and they had the nerve to tell me that it’s showing that I canceled the job, which was a lie. I was not happy but I kept my cool and they finally found someone to service my area and told me that they would be there on August 25th, 2020 between 9am/5:pm.Once the technician arrived he looked at it and told me he had to order the part and I will get a call when they will come to replace the part. Two or three days after the technician came both of my oven stopped working so I called them and told them that and asked them if they were going to send someone out to look at it since it is a different issue, they told me no and that the parts that the technician is going to replace should fix the problem. Mind you they didn’t even know what the issue was, anyway On September 11, 2020 the technician came to replace the part, I told him, Well the oven is not working and I was told that the part you are about to replace should fix that issue. He replied, I am not quite sure if it will because I don’t know what the issue is but I will take a look at it after I install this part. Guess what? It did not fix the oven part of it so now he had to order another part. On September 18,2020 the technician came to replace the part for the oven, once he replaced it the oven was still not working, the technician told me the oven cannot be fix and that there is no parts to replace that he will go to his truck, call the office and let them know that so they can move on to the next step and he will let me know what they said. I waited inside my house and the technician never came back in. I noticed he left without letting me know what was said.I immediately called the company and they told me they will submit the report to home depot protection plan and let them know. I decided right after I got off the phone with them to call me Home Depot protection plan and let them know what I was told and they told me, Ok we will wait for them to submit it and it should take 24 to 72 hours for them to make a decision and get back to me. On September 22, 2020 I called Home Depot protection plan to find out the status. I explained the situation and I was transferred to a supervisor and I waited an hour on the phone before I finally reached a supervisor. I also explained the situation and he told me he would contact LG to escalate this for a buy out review and told me to look out for an email tomorrow.About two hours later I get a call telling us that a technician will be coming on September 23rd, 2020 to fix the oven. I was confused so I called Home Depot protection plan again to ask them what was going on and why were they sending the same company to fix something that they already deemed could not be fixed, they transferred me to a supervisor again and I waited another hour for a supervisor to come on the phone. The supervisor tells me that there was never a report sent to them stating that they could not fix the oven and that LG is sending a technician out to service my oven.It is going on almost two months going back and forth with Home Depot protection plan and LG and I am still with an oven that is not working and they have been bouncing me back and forth and I am been told something different every time I call. I operate a business from home that requires me to use my stove top and oven on the regular and not having a working oven has affected my business and my ability to cook for my 6 children and husband. This has been one of the worst experience, the range is only 4 years old. It was very expensive and it is a shame that it had gone bad in such a short time.Home Depot protection plan and LG are the absolute worst to deal with. It is unfair and very unprofessional what they are doing because when I purchase the protection plan I was told if they could not fix the product after they attempt to fix the problem they would replace the product or provide me with the money that I purchased it for to get another one. Now they are playing game and going around the bushes. I am very disappointed, unsatisfied and frustrated with both Home Depot protection plan and LG.

LG HE takes less time to dry clothes. Uses less hot water. I like the front-loading washer and dryer better than top-loading ones. They were somewhat on the expensive side, but worth it. LG has an innovative motor that will last longer because theres less motion involved. I like the pedestals as well. Ive had absolutely NO problems with either the washer or the dryer, and no missing socks! Mine are full-size side-by-side units. There are many cycle options for each: water temperature for wash and rinse, type of material, intensity of spin cycle; the dryer allows for both timed and sensor drying.

Oh boy!!! Thank goodness i read these reviews. A few weeks ago i cooked spaghetti and the lg micro above the stove stopped working - control panel out except for : showing. Inside light still on. Left it alone and next morning i played around with door. Voila - number 8 came up on its own. Then one by one things began working again. Last night i cooked spaghetti again. Yep - did it again. Mind you - i am NOT using the micro to cook. But the micro gets so hot from the oven and i believe overheats the micro panel. Again, i unplugged it and went to bed. This morning it again took some fiddling and eventually a beep. So i was able to turn on the light (my main purpose in needing it to work - i need a light on that side of the kitchen). So i reset the time, etc. But as i am reading these scary reviews, the number 2 just popped onto the screen. After reading these reviews, i know it will eventually stop all together. But why i am SO glad that i read these comments is that i will now unplug it whenever i go out or go to bed at night. LG needs to step up to the plate and do a mass recall with a free replacement of another brand until they can get it right. Obviously no one wants another one of these. Who is with me on a class action suit?Thank you all for taking the time to report the extreme dangers of this unit. You probably just saved my house from burning down!!

Our LG washing machine exploded and imploded in less than three years. The outside walls of the machine are bent out and the inside components fell to the bottom of the machine. The machine moved 1-2 feet away from the wall and could have hurt our dog and gone through the opposite wall if we were not home. We are on our third case type number to track this situation. The number does not work to upload the sales slip for the third time in their system.Today was my fifth call to LG and I was on hold for 14 minutes to try to resolve the systems issue and have finally given up. LG made us have a service call to have the situation assessed and did not pay for the service. LG was told that there was no way the machine could be fixed and wed sent pictures to prevent the service call. The service person called LG and told them that hes never seen such damage to an LG machine. We are now determining the best approach to resolve this issue particularly with the safety concern. We are also getting rid of LG dryer due to our concerns.

When I called LG for service they never called me back and then it started working on its own so I never called them back. However, on Thanksgiving morning it completely died. We checked everything and we could not get it to work. We were told by several people who work with electronics that it was probably the motherboard which is too expensive to replace as far as Im concerned. I am very unhappy with this product considering we paid seven to $800 for it just two years ago and now it is basically useless and will just go fill a landfill somewhere. After 5 years of normal use, the oven in my LG LRE30955ST electric range stopped working (cut off during use). I paid the LG technician $260 in March 2013 to fix it. After 1 month, it started to malfunction, but the malfunction was sporadic. Two months after the repair, the oven started running up to maximum temperature during use and burning whatever was in the oven. I called LG and they sent out the same technician. He changed all control boards and relay boards. He tested the oven and said it now works. I tried to use the oven a couple of days later and it would not turn on. I did a reset. This happened a few times so I did not trust to use the oven. Then on July 4th, I cooked ribs on the grill and turned the oven to warm to keep the ribs warm. The oven ran out of control, but I discovered the smoking oven before the ribs were ruined. I called LG and they argued with me for 1 hour before agreeing to send a technician out to look at the problem. They wanted to troubleshoot it over the phone... You know, the normal BS... is it plugged in, are the oven racks properly placed, did you turn it on properly, etc. The kind of things that makes you angry. LG has a recall on this model, but they say my problem is not related to the recall. They will have to charge me again for fixing the problem. Anyway, long story short... dont buy LG appliances. They are poorly designed and they are poorly supported. The tech is coming out again, but I doubt that it will be properly fixed. I expect that I will toss my 5-year-old, $1,500 range in the trash and buy a different brand.

I was pretty impressed but no one has contacted me in 5 days. Meanwhile I am without a fridge. I guess to them not a big deal but I would think the average reviewer would understand the impact and urgency of being without. I also have not got contacted about someone coming out to repair. Appt canceled and after 5 days no idea on status. LG, UNEXPECTEDLY LOSING A FRIDGE IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR A FAMILY. If you want follow on business, act with some sense of urgency to support your products. Week 1 without a refrigerator.Original Review: I bought an LG refrigerator 4 years ago and experienced a failure day after Thanksgiving. Got stuck on hold for over 30 minutes first day but got a hold of LG pretty quickly on Monday morning. They have a known compressor issue. They did offer to have someone come out. Would replace compressor if that is issue but there are no service folks near me even though I live in Bloomington INDIANA with a population of about 50000 to 80000 [when students are here). Best Buy sold me the fridge and they could care less. Lesson learned. So I will have to wait another 3-5 business days to even talk about an appointment. Meanwhile no fridge. So I will call it a loss. No more appliances from Best buy and no more LG products. But an expensive, inconvenient lesson unfortunately. It might have gotten resolved faster if I lived in a metropolitan area. I expect much more than 4 years from a refrigerator and I would not expect to need to pay $300 for an extended warranty. I paid $1399 on a Black Friday deal. The fridge was not loud, worked ok until it failed, ice maker wasnt great and ice got stuck in chute often.

Have had a technician visit us three times and he made sure the machine is level, has a new board with updated firmware and still we have problems. Even more telling is the fact that a tub clean cycle (water only) cannot finish without the machine stopping to display UE. Ive given up. My cheap basement GE stove cleans and works much better and we use it more. Model number lrg30357st.

After owning my top load LG washing machine for 4 years, I began getting the UE message on every wash that the unit was off balance. Should have started reading all the previous complaints... well I didnt. Then on Jan. 7, 2017 I received the LE message and the unit stopped working all together and smelling like it was on fire inside. I called the LG customer service where I was told I was out of warranty that they could sell me a one time fix for $305, this would include a technician coming out diagnosing the issue and all parts and labor. I paid for it, the first repairman came (1/13/17) he unplugged the machine, pressed start and then power for 10 seconds each, plugged it back in and told my husband it was fixed... NOT... I called back, they told me they would send a new technician. He came out on 1/16/17 and said the issue was UNDER WARRANTY (10 year warranty on motor) and the motor is SHOT. He would order the parts and come back out... when... he didnt know. Today is 1/30/17 and after speaking to the repairman who is STILL waiting to get the parts from LG... I spent ONE AND 1/2 HOUR on HOLD with LG and got NO RESPONSE... THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN HELL GET THE PARTS. Im at my wits end and just want to get my $305 back and go buy a new machine. I am so disappointed in LG and will never purchase another LG product.

Machine purchased at Home Depot in 2011. Year 3 rust appeared where around the bleach dispenser. If you get the one year service plan be careful as when your machine hits 5 years, no more service! Do not buy! Stick with Kenmore!!! If I could travel all 50 states and warn people about this crappy machine I would... Horrible customer service. They also do not come out to repair right away, you have to do various checks on the washer for them to actually come out. They want to know whats wrong or what did you do? What was wrong was I tried to wash a load of laundry and the machine did not work! I will never again buy LG!

Updated on 01/20/2020: I had hoped to update my review to at least Satisfactory, but NO. An LG repair man was here this morning, the refrigerator is seemingly fixed - but we will see. The problem is that when my husband talked to LG last week they said the cost of parts would be NO Charge. Then the guy gets here today and says only the compressor is covered - but in order to replace the compressor he has to literally break another part which WE have to PAY FOR! How is that even a thing? I am floored by this shoddy engineering. So, it costed us $360 to repair a part covered under warranty. To top it off the man was so rude to me, kept leaving the front door wide open, including the screen door which HE locked open, and we have a dog. I kept closing the door behind him - take a hint. Then, he moves the refrigerator back (almost to where it belonged) and created 2 long black marks across 3 of our floor tiles. He intended to leave without even addressing that. I grabbed a rag and tried to clean it up and it would not come clean. He said Give me that! (just like that) and tried to wipe it up himself, to no avail. He then grabbed something out of his little bag and started scraping the floor. The marks started to fade a little. He then stands up, says Here and hands me a small piece of sand paper. Now I have to clean this up?? I could hardly believe my eyes, but by this point I just wanted him to leave my house. I have never experience such poor customer service. This is day 9 without a fridge, taking up space in neighbors freezer, buying ice to keep everyday items cold! My initial thought still stands, no more LG for me.Original review: While other manufacturers allow major appliance warranties to be transferred, as when you buy a house, LG does NOT. So, the new owner a $3,000 refrigerator that fails is completely out of luck. Sad, I will NEVER buy another LG product, and if I ever buy another house, the brand of appliances will be a factor in decision. Shame on LG!

3 yr old Kenmore (LG manufactured) refrigerator went out at Thanksgiving. Sears was very slow to respond. Tech came out and immediately said it was compressor without even touching the fridge. He said they were replacing them left and right. Part was ordered and it took two weeks to get it. He came back out and it was either the wrong part or it wasn’t a functioning compressor. Fast forward to now and we received the compressor on Tuesday and they are telling us it will be next week before anyone will come out to make repair. It has been 6 weeks now without a refrigerator. We went out and bought a 4 cubic foot fridge that gets us by - barely. Don’t know if it will work when they come back again next week but hopeful. Sick of LG and Sears!

I purchased an LG washer and dryer several years ago. I absolutely hate them, but they cost a small fortune, so I am not ready to buy new ones. Here are my complaints: my clothes never get cleaned; it doesnt use enough water to get them cleaned! They always have a mildew smell. Now my detergent draw will not open. It is stuck for about a month, but it would eventually open. From all the complaints I have been reading, why has the Better Business Bureau (BBB) not gotten involved? My sister bought an LG refrigerator, and she also had multiple problems with it! I will not be buying another LG product!

Years ago, I purchased matching LG Front Load Washing Machine (2233H) & Gas Dryer; cost approx. $2500. At first, my biggest issue was that the Dryer (largest capacity), could not/still cannot effectively tumble my California King sheets. As such, I still have to stop the cycle mid-way, untangle then fluff the sheets and restart the cycle! With my OLD top loading basic Whirlpool machine, I never had this problem. As for LG Washing Machine (2233H), after about a year, I developed serious and long-standing sinus issues but never thought of my washing machine being the source of the problem, until it began to smell funky and I did some online research. I found that this machine and other front loaders have issues with mold; however, I thought I was exempt from this since I always a) always keep the door open; b) frequently run the tub clean option and c) regularly clean the rubber rim!One day, I was reading an article about children, who had been admitted to the same hospital and later died; it was proven that these already ill children were given linens with mold spores on them. With already comprised immune systems, the mold spores entered these childrens sinus cavity then attacked their brains and, in turn, killed them! The laundry facility that was used by the hospital was found to have a mold problem!! So, I became more diligent with my washing machine. I took bleach and vinegar and tried to clean not just the rubber rim but further inside.Tonight, I was also fed up with the fact that bleach and softener never dispense. So, I went online and found an article stating that this part might be clogged and to take the dispenser drawer out then clean it. To my surprise, I found BLACK MOLD on the underside of the drawer as well as in the machine opening [where the drawer fits into]. It is so ingrained into the top underside of the opening that I cant get it off. I am now more alarmed about health issues that this washing machine Black Mold problem has been causing and might still be causing. So, I went online again and find that LG and other front load manufacturers have just settled class-action suits for this issue but not admitted any fault!!!! LG never sent any notice to me and the deadline has just expired. Furthermore, the settlement to each machine owner is pathetic, especially, considering 1) initial cost of these machines and 2) replacement cost for a new machine [as you will never get rid of the black mold throughout the existing machine]. Government needs to protect consumers from big corporations abuse since attorneys of class actions are the only ones who benefit. For this specific issue, people need to contact their local politicians to work on behalf of their constituents to get lemon laws passed in respect to these defective machines, which manufacturers continued to produce and sell with full knowledge of the serious potential and probable health risks to consumers [adults, seniors, children] due to exposure to common black mold formation. Manufacturers of machine models found to have black mold should be mandated to replace each of these machines with top loaders of the consumer choice.

I purchased an LG after reviewing them on Consumer Reports and other websites. I purchased mine from Lowes in June 2016 but it was not installed until August 2018 due to the delay of my home construction completion. So in service less than 1 year and no longer will cool or freeze as of 8-1-19. After a little research I discovered that the Linear Compressor failure is a COMMON problem with LG. NOTE LG at the time of my purchase had a 5 year warranty on this unit from the purchase date, I believe it is now a 10 year warranty. I called customer service on 8-2-19 to report problem. I was told I would be contacted by an authorized service center within 48 hours. NO CONTACT. ON 8-4-19 got a call from LG indicating I would be provided free service & repair for the cooling issue and would receive a call from an authorized service center with 48 hours (ANOTHER 48 hours with no frig/freezer). On 8-4 I received an email that my request had been sent to an authorized repair center. On 8-5 I received an email Service Appointment Cancellation Notification. I again called and advised I had never been contacted about a service appt. She put me on hold and came back and said I had a new service appt on 8-8 between 8-5 and the provider would call me 1 hour prior. On 8-6 I got another Cancellation Notice. It is now 8-12-19, still no frig/freezer or repair scheduled. I have documented everything and will pursue. I also discovered there is a class action against LG for this same problem. My request was escalated to Executive Services Project Team on 8-8-19 and I was told to call him (will not mention names yet) back on Saturday as he would be working from 9-6, if I had not received a response within 48 hours. He did send me an email with his name and unit but no direct phone number. On 8-10 I called and asked to speak to the person and was advised no one worked in that division on the weekend.Today 8-12 I called and asked for Executive Services and spoke to another man. He advised that a repair provider was sent a letter of authorization for a labor rate of $450 flat on 8-5-19. The man tried to call them with no answer. I advised it was too early here in Hawaii and he asked if I could call them. I have called them with no person answering, and left two messages. (Perhaps this was one of the cancelled appointments). I need to know IF AND WHEN my refrigerator will be repaired. I have guests coming in two days and will rent one if I have to but NEED a response from someone that has a clue about what steps will be taken. By the way, pretty no one here on the island of Hawaii will repair either LG or Samsung. Next time I will check with repair services before I buy an appliance.

My fridge stopped cooling the night before Thanksgiving. It is still running and the light come on...but not cooling...food lost! I called our Home warranty. Technician to come out, he was there within 3 hours because they consider problems with a refrigerator and emergency. He said it is a compressor leak and there is no Freon left in the appliance. Due to this, he cannot fix so I needed to call LG because it should be under warranty.I called LG first thing in the morning on Friday after Thanksgiving, and they said that they would notify a repair tech to call us and schedule a time to fix the appliance if it was fixable. Monday still no word from them. I called LG back and they said none of the repair shops around me had accepted the order so they would move me to to an escalation group to get scheduled who would call me in 3-5 days...still I have no fridge. I did now get an email saying that they scheduled a consultation with a technician for next Friday...this is where they will come and see what is wrong with my fridge so they can order parts. I explained to them after waiting on hold for 25 minutes...I have notes from a technician that you can use to fix my fridge when they come. They will not do that. Once they order parts, those will take a week or longer to get to my house, then you have to reschedule the tech... This is ridiculous! I am going to be out a refrigerator for a MONTH! And this is an appliance I spent $2200 only 2.75 years ago. The customer service was no help and frankly not that empathetic to the fact that we are a large family and had no fridge over Thanksgiving, let alone now. Very disappointed! This is unacceptable!

I bought all new appliances for my kitchen... all LG. Love everything but the dishwasher! I never thought I had to read the manual to run this... but one day realized that the filter was really greasy and there was water standing in the drain. Then I found a quick guide with my papers that actually said to clean this filter every time you wash! The water never drains out which creates moisture even if you put a paper towel in it each time you use it! Really... Does a manufacturer expect you to clean the filter each time? Plus we dont ever put dirty dishes in it to begin with! Pricey item And LG wont back this up because I am beyond my warranty. Who has time for this!? Forget this product.

I have owned LG dishwasher and front loading washing machine for approximately 4 years. We have had two issues which require service. Upon calling the LG service number, we were given a list of certified repair services. All of the certified service technicians are over an hour away and refuse to travel this far. This is laughable given that we live in the Metropolitan NY area - only three services centers to service 10 million people? Really? The individual who answered my call at LG was arrogant and uncaring and had no idea New York City was that big - wow. Last Friday night at 6:00, I discovered that the food in my refrigerator was getting warm. The thermostat said 37 degrees in the refrigerator and 0 degrees in the freezer, but food was warm in the refrigerator and things in the freezer were melting. I started calling appliance repair services. Most were closed at 6 PM but the ones who did answer said, Sorry, but we cant work on LG appliances. I asked, Why not? I was told, Because LG will NOT ALLOW us to be a part of their service network and LG will NOT let us buy parts. The repair services said that they had filled out apps and had been jumping through hoops for LG for 1-2 years without success. Because of LGs policies, I lost $400-500 worth of food and am FORCED TO BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR. Today, Monday, the other repair services that I had left messages for Friday night have been returning my calls and ALL OF THEM told me the very same thing about LG service policies. LG forces customers to call LG and LG sends a repair person (you have to wait days) who charges 2-3 times the going rate, and LG charges sky high prices for parts. The repair services said to buy a Whirlpool, Amana or Kenmore instead because parts are readily available and less expensive. Whirlpool donates to Habitat for Humanity, too. GE parts are the highest, except for LG.

We purchased a new LG French Door refrigerator on 02/09/2017 from RC Willy in Rocklin, California. Since that time, we have had a new compressor replaced twice and are now waiting for another service call. During our last compressor replacement on 02/03/2020, the service technician asked us why are you having this replaced since its just going to break again? He said this is a continuing problem and will never be reliable/fixed. Well, its happened again and we are now waiting for another service appointment. Interesting, though, that when my husband mentioned to the LG service representative what our last service technician had said, we now have a different company coming and we live in a smaller community. When we called the LG phone number at 800/243-000, they stressed the Covid-19 situation and keeping their employees safe. What about their customers who are staying home with now rotted food? Because of the three failed compressors, we have lost a large amount of food equalling $$$$. When we asked about LG replacing our unit with a new unit that will keep our food cold, we were told that they can only send out a service technician and have it repaired (again and again and again). At less than 2 year of age my LG top-load washer malfunctioned and flooded my house. According to the washer repairman their assembly was such that the washer pressure sensor hose was wrapped around an arm and the vibration caused it to come loose, resulting in the washers inability to sense the water level - so it just kept filling. Not only did LG not stand behind my nearly new washer, this machine is pure junk. I know to watch and check that hose frequently although I can say its never had another issue with the assembly correction. Problem is it just doesnt clean. The water level varies such between loads that I always stand there to make sure enough water flows in to actual get all the items wet. I realize one of the so-called features is less water usage....but seriously if they dont get wet, its hard to clean. I noticed my whites and bright colors look dingy after a few washes, so I started watch closely - this is how I discovered the water issue. I now wash my clothes 2-3 times to get them clean enough...thats sad. I HATE this LG and will never purchase another of their products.

I am very upset and very frustrated! In just 2 short years I am having trouble with all of my appliances and am currently waiting on a service call from HHGregg (whom I will never buy appliances from ever again). Found out today that the HHGregg warranty is not as good as the paper on which it is written! One complaint is the LG microwave oven. It stopped working (the plate will no longer rotate and will not heat up). Apparently, there is a default in the design of the LG microwave ovens that fit over the stove. The heat from the stove causes the microwave system to stop working. LG and HHGregg should replace my malfunctioned microwave oven with one without this flaw! No LG told me to contact HHGregg! HHGregg offered me only a 200.00 store credit! This cost does not replace my microwave! I feel robbed by LG and by HHGregg! Shame on both these companies!!!

They made an appointment to send an LG technician in two days. I had to call a water damage company in the meantime because water had leaked through the wall into a hallway and a bedroom. Water was under tiles and was squishing in the carpet. The LG technician finally came. The refrigerator was moved from its niche in kitchen. The technician discovered the problem. He said it was a defective valve in the ice maker. He said theyre (LG) going to hate this but its on us (LG). Called customer service again. Customer service representative, finally agreed to give us a claim number and gave us a number for Product Liability. I kept calling that number but no one ever answered and no one returned my calls. I finally got another number from customer service rep. Bottom line is the estimate to repair and restore is around $6225. They said they will pay $4224. I cannot get my home repaired for that amount. My refrigerator is still sitting in the middle of the breakfast area and the ice maker cannot be hooked until the repairs are made to my house. The defective refrigerator caused all the damage and LG should pay the full cost of the restoration. The Product Liability department has been very disrespectful and rude to me, a customer who purchased one of their products. Does anyone know who I should call at LG to resolve this issue.

Think twice before you buy a LG refrigerator. The compressor on mine failed just past a year of use. LG repair people were less than helpful but they finally agreed to pay for new compressor but we were on the hook for labor because we had not purchased extended warranty. My granddaughter purchased a LG refrigerator just after ours. Her compressor failed just after a year. She did purchase the extended warranty but has now been waiting eight weeks for repair with no end in sight. Repair people do not want to do business with LG because it takes months and months for them to be paid/reimbursed by LG.

I am writing to complain about the product quality of our appliances. We have had all of our appliances for less than 2 years (refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave) and in those 2 years we have had 3 significant issues. The dishwasher was repaired a few months ago because of a major mechanical problem causing the buttons to glitch. Our oven reeks like gasoline every time it is turned on (service request entered to be told it is out of warranty. Cannot be fixed without a $125 fee) And most recently - our brand new microwave just STOPPED working today out of nowhere. It won’t power on even though there is power to the outlet. I was told we had to pay for a service request with no guarantee on product replacement and out of pocket cost. We can’t do that again, and will be forced to buy a new microwave (not LG).The quality of our appliances is completely unacceptable. We bought new appliances and were excited to have them as part of our first home, and their quality and function have been extremely disappointing and unreliable. There is absolutely zero reason why an appliance that costs thousands of dollars should fail like these have. To add, the warranty is outdated and a sham. To give people a year warranty on crappy devices is unfair and not right. They break right outside of the warranty, forcing customers to spend hundreds on parts and labor to repairmen. I will never ever buy another LG product and will make sure I tell my friends and family the same.

My experience was pleasant and effortless. It had an ice-making machine in the door and kept my food cold correctly. My food was never too warm. It worked and kept my food cold, its pretty simple. I would include more space, especially for bigger freezer storage. If it had room for bigger items that would be an improvement as well. It was included with the house we lived at. It met our initial expectations. Since I got it for free my expectations were pretty low. Its a refrigerator, if it keeps my food cold and works properly, Im happy.

We purchased a French door ice maker fridge in 2011. LG GCP197DPSL- 560 L - $1600 (Lemon). One year later the ice maker kept jamming up and would not dispense ice. This then made ice crystals form that covered the inside of the freezer door causing ice crystals to fall all over the floor when the door was opened. 5 years, two replacement doors. 1 ice maker bin, dozens of calls to LG and numerous service calls at $75 each time and we still do not have a fridge/freezer that will make ice or not frost over inside. LG say they will not offer any more assistance or support or any kind of refund or compensation to us... LG fridges are the worst. Do not buy one. LG customer service (3rd world call centre) is an insulting joke of stalling and non commitment to help their customers in any way... Joke.

We live in Florida - it’s always hot. Have contacted LG again. They dont have a clue what theyre talking about. Will contact local service repair person and hope for the best, but after reading all the complaints against LG products, I fear I will end up buying a new frig, but not LG. I purchased an LG Top loading washing machine from PC Richards in Levittown NY. I purchased the Machine in June 2020 and the machine has broke twice already! I called PC Richards to repair the machine as I bought the extended warranty. The machine is leaking from the bottom and it sounds like a lawn mower!! PC Richards was horrible. I have an elderly mother I care for who is on Hospice. When I asked how long until a repair operator can come out to fix they said a week or 2!!! That is ridiculous. I have water in my house and I cant use the washer. I have 6 people with no clean laundry. I spent over a $1000.00 for this machine and the best PC Richards can do is say it is what it is. I feel like a prisoner. How am I supposed to care for my dying parent who needs clean sheets and laundry daily!!!

Bought LP model LFX25978ST /00 1/28/2012. Lasted 7 Years. The repairman said we fortunate because in LG training classes the instructor, when asked about the life of the LG fridges, he said 5 yrs avg. Stay away from Samsung and LG Fridges. We were without for 2 wks waiting for part after part till it came down to being the compressor. It was under warranty however LG told me that I should and have to have a certified LG repair person make the diagnosis and fix.Gentleman came and was very courteous. LG sent us a compressor overnight but it took 4 days to receive it. Then come to find out not only was the compressor shot but it leaked freon out into the inner casing and all that would have be replaced. He said go get a new fridge because the repairs would be way more than the cost of a new one. Still have the compressor. Tried to return it to LG, since it will only fit that model, they said would issue an RMA. Its been a month now and I still have not received it. Called they said it would come when it comes. Never again will I buy an LG Appliance.

Model LFX25975SW LG refrigerator - My complaint regarding the subject LG refrigerator is the same as the one posted by Darelyn of Peoria, AZ on Sept. 20, 2012. The housing around the ice and water dispenser turned yellow in about 2 years. This is unacceptable on a white refrigerator in an all-white kitchen. After getting rejected by the LG customer service, I filed a complaint with the BBB (case #**) and after their mediation, it was rejected by LG again for the same reasons that Darelyn received, That they do not warranty cosmetic damage. I wonder if they ran that by their marketing team as this is what sells these models. I am trying to start a class action suit against LG on this obvious defect in material used. Anyone wants to join?

The LG steam washer I purchased about 3 years ago has been problematic and I would strongly advise against purchasing one of these units. The malodorous tub in this front loader is likely secondary to the water retention within the gasket Despite leaving the door open to dry, something unnecessary in any top loader, the musty black mildew persists! Obviously an engineering design flaw, the tub cannot empty completely. Despite leveling this machine on a concrete floor with the drawer pedestal, the machine shakes and rattles and dances over the concrete floor. The machine will never stay in one place despite attempts to keep it there irrespective of load weights. This machine is a piece of junk and LG will not listen to these complaints. Waste of money should have bought the Miele. All of their products are superbly German engineered! Please enlist a class action suit. The trailing entries are testament to the litany of problems.

I purchased a refrigerator, dishwasher and gas range for my new home that I moved in to in 2019. Close to 5000$. Of course they are all out of warranty now and during Christmas of 2021 pieces of enamel was being found in my food I was baking in the oven. Needless to say this has to be a manufacturers defect because nothing I have done would warrant chips of enamel falling off. I called they said, Nope its out of warranty. Even with the fact that we could have consumed some of the enamel they do NOT care. Even the man that I called about checking it out said LG was hard to work with. I am hoping to get this resolved soon being I can not use my oven for fear of consuming enamel. I was so proud at how all three units looked in my kitchen and people were impressed with the look of them. Shame on you LG for selling expensive crap!! This washing machine started leaking in the first few months. LG has sent out a service technician 5 times over the past year. The machine continues to leak. Our wait times are 30 minutes at least to get through to customer service. Today we were told they would not replace the machine until a technician deems it unrepairable. Now a year into this process, it is clear they will keep wasting our time and sending out repair technicians without ever replacing the faulty washer. This will be the last LG product we ever buy.

Update : To their credit LG responded by sending out service technicians twice to resolve the problem, both gentlemen were very professional, timely and worked to resolve the issue. On the first visit the circulating fan motor was changed - but this unfortunately did not resolve the issue. On the second visit while disconnecting and reconnecting the wiring at the back of the oven, the problem was resolved (no parts changed). The oven works fine now and the issue is resolved.I would have given this an even higher star rating - except during the repair process it was confirmed that there really are no control board parts available for this particular oven (only newer models of it) - so if the controller board ever goes wrong I will be out of luck.

We believed LGs advertisements and trusted that they would stand behind their product. The expensive French Door Refrigerator/Freezer (LFCS31626S) has given us nothing but trouble. LG has sent repair technicians several times who have gone so far as to replace the control board (twice) and the compressor complete with solder smoke wafting through our air during a 2-4 hour repair job. Still, in spite of being set at 36 degrees F, the temperature cycles from 45 degrees F to an unsafe 60 degrees F. The last technician who worked on the thing told us that he did all he could, and, within a week, we had the same problem all over again (we called that technician for help but he no longer answered our calls). Meanwhile, weve lost tons of food and have to shuffle things into a standing freezer for salvage. This has been going on for about a year. Rather than do the right thing and replace the unit with a new, good one, LG now wants us to break COVID-19 isolation for yet another failed repair attempt. Most recently, we were handed over the Executive Team where a member picked-up and held the phone line open for over 2 hrs before hanging up without once responding to our repeated pleas that he/she speak. We are beyond frustrated. In fact, we are feeling betrayed. Please help!

Back in November 2008 we purchased an LG front load washer from Home Depot. After two months of owning the washer it went crazy! I had put a load of clothes in to wash and went about my chores, when I heard a horrible banging sound! When I ran into the laundry room I saw the washer jumping all over the place and beating holes in my wall! Before I could get to the plug to disconnect power, the front of the machine blew off and the washer drum fell out. I was in shock, my floor was flooded and the machine was destroyed! I called LG and explained what had happened and their wonderful customer service suggested that I unplug the machine for 15 minutes and then try it again! Really??? After 3 weeks, about 50 phone calls they finally sent a repairman out who said it was do fixable! Another two weeks went by and we finally got a replacement machine. The replacement leaks all of the time! They have been out to check it more times than I can count and it still leaks! I will never buy another LG product!

I purchased an LG Front Load Washer (model:WM2688HWM) on 8/19/06 from Best Buy, for $1,349.99, plus pedestal for $179, 2-pack of hoses for $26.99=$1,555.98 plus $101.14 for tax. My total payment was $1,657.12. In addition, we purchased the 5 year service plan from Best Buy for $199.99. Our total investment was $1,857.11. The unit was delivered on 9/15/06. Exactly 5 years and one month after delivery and 1st use in 2006, on 10/15/2011, our machine flashed tE on the display, and we could not use the machine, and we were out of warranty by 1 month. An authorized LG technician was called, and he came out, ordered a new thermostat, and replaced it on 10/24/11. 3 weeks later, on 11/18/11, the machine stopped, and again flashed tE on the display panel. The technician was not able to come out right away, so a new thermostat was installed on 12/3/11. On 1/31/2012, the machine flashed tE, is not working, and again I am waiting for the Authorized Technician to come. I called LG Customer Service this morning, (1-800-243-0000). The rep I spoke to was very nice, but could only give the answers he is trained to give. I then spoke to a very nice supervisor, who was also well trained to give non-helpful answers to the consumers. My first washer lasted 22 years, and it was not an LG. I never had a service call for a thermostat problem on that washer, but did replace it once on the dryer. At that time we were a family of 6. The children played sports. We did a lot of laundry, but the machine was made well, and I paid a fair price for a product that was predicted to last 20 years, but lasted longer. With all the laundry we did, I would have been thrilled had it lasted only 15. This LG has cost much more money. Our youngest was a senior in high school, and then left for college when we bought it, so basically I have done laundry for my husband and I, who dont get terribly dirty, and the machine was used 2 or 3 times a week. The repair man is now here, and the new thermostat he has installed is still flashing tE. He said he has spoken to the company, and was told that the problem could not possibly be the main board, that it has to be the thermostat. He is on the phone with them now. I will pay for another service call today, but as soon as I send this email, I am going to start researching and determine what washing machines have a better service record. I have been told that LG has such great technology, but what benefit is good technology, if it cannot be incorporated into a product that will work for a reasonable length of time?

First contact on Feb 23rd for compressor replacement, 5 years into a ten-year compressor warranty. Lengthy wait on hold,13 verifiable calls later, as of March 5th, there has been no authorization for a compressor to be shipped to the service vendor. Service vendor made 7 of 10 calls in one day. LG will not provide a direct number to reach the same person twice. They will provide you with a badge number and first name. When you call back, there is no way to get back to the same person. Today they tell me it takes five days to process a parts authorization. They also tell me it will be another 7 to 10 days before they ship the parts once they are ordered.Once that happens, the service provider has to order the parts, and reschedule service at the home location. Both my self and the service provider have been sent to another company called Encompass who then has you start all over. I was told on March 1st that the authorization was in my email, all I had to do was open it. On March 2nd, I was assured it would be processed in 24 to 48 hours. Today, that has grown to 5-7 business days to approve parts. This has left me no choice other than to be a month or more without a refrigerator. The original purchase price was just over $2700.00 on sale.

They went on to say that it was LGs policy to replace a refrigerator on the 4th sealed system issue. On Aug 22, I finally I spoke to someone in LG Consumer Relations and was told that my refrigerator qualifies for a buy back. The last sealed system issue was less than a year ago and I could request a buy back. I was told It would take 3-4 days for the final dollar amount to be determined and another 4 weeks to receive a check. As requested I sent in my Proof of Purchase using the web link emailed to me. On Aug 24th I called LG service for an update and was told I had not sent my Proof of Purchase, I sent it a second time and verified that it was received. Again I was told 3-4 days to receive the final offer details. I called today, Aug 30th, and was transferred 4 times. I am now told that someone had not followed through on the case and it would be another 3-4 working days before a decision would be made. What recourse do I have?

I have owned my stove for two years. Food has to be turned because it heats in the back too much. The water cleaning system is a joke. This has put me back sixty years. I am trying to clean by hand which is almost impossible because of the porcelain interior.

We purchased our home and this washer (LG front loading washer) came with it. I was so excited until the horrible mildew smell started. It smells awful and no matter what I do, the smell does not go away. I would love to see a class action lawsuit against this company. I will never buy anything LG again! Piece of junk!
