If I could rate this with zero stars I would! There was nothing wrong with the 5 year year old washer, it was the computer board and LG no longer provides updates! Only 3 years in, Almost every load gets an unbalanced error. You have to adjust the load so it will start again. This can happen 5-10 times before you finish one load, which can take all day!! You can replace the computer board for just under $300???? Why would we keep using this machine or anything from LG?? We have never been so disappointed or frustrated!

On September 6th, my wife and I felt a Jarring motion in our home. It was almost like an earthquake. I went to investigate and found my LG washer had spun out of control and had put a 6 inch dent in our wall and had also hit the LG Dryer next to it and did considerable damage to it. Since the machine was about a year old we contacted LG. Within days they sent out a technician, who took pictures of the damage and forwarded them to LG. He also unplugged the machine and locked it so we could not use it. For the next month and a half we contact LG on what they would do. After about 10 phone calls with questions about what is the serial #, which the tech sent them the first day, to where did you buy it and do you have a receipt. Again all info they track as the manufacturer. They did refer us to a Mr. ** who did respond to emails, But it wasnt his department. We finally contacted the Presidents Office and that got a response now they are offering a free repair or a discount on a new unit. Nothing about the $300 worth of damage to our wall or the extensive damage to the dryer unit. The whole process seems to be designed to have you stay on hold until you give up and dealing with people with a poor understanding of English, to pointing you to the wrong people. We are 45 days later and now the President is involved. Hopefully we will get our repairs soon.

Our refrigerator’s compressor stopped working a little over 3 weeks ago. I have called LG numerous times to try and get an answer to see if they’ll fix. It’s still under warranty. Because of Covid-19, they can’t find any service person in my area. The last person I talked to on the phone told me that because I don’t have my sales receipt that there’s not they can do for me. This fridge was purchased over 9 years ago. And he said “well whatever“ as if he didn’t care to hear my side. Kept talking over me and also my wife who was trying to explain herself. What truly upset us both was the lack of professionalism and the fact that I’ve had to contact lg every time to get an answer. An email was promised last week and. Not until today Monday May 11, 2020 was the email sent after the person I spoke with told me that they would be sending it!!!! Basically I don’t recommend any lg products to anyone. Customer service is located in the Philippines, nothing wrong with that but it’s like they don’t care because they’re not here dealing with our problems. Very disappointing experience for us.

Many years ago I purchased an LG washer and dryer. I was so happy with their quality that when I was ready to purchase new appliances for my kitchen I didnt consider any other brand. I saved my money for over a year and was proud to purchase matching fridge, stove, and dishwasher in black stainless steel almost 2 years ago. My new appliances were wonderful until a month ago when the finish started flaking off and before you say it is my fault, no I do not use abrasive cleaners on the finish. The stove started first, where the handle meets the door and now the fridge is doing the same. I am now embarrassed to have these in my kitchen. I emailed my complaint to LG and the response was very complacent, they really didnt seem to care. I will never buy LG anything, ever.

The washer has held up well for 6 years with only minor repair needed. As we found out, you have regularly clean the drain filter but its easily accessible from the front of the machine. The machine we own is not heavy duty but perfect for my wife and I now that the kids are out of the house. We will buy LG again when we eventually need a new one.

I purchased an LG front load washer about 6 months ago from Sears. It began leaking from the bottom within 3 months of purchase. I called LG and after 5 hours of run around through their customer service. Customer service reps are all from India or Philippines. They have no idea what you are saying. They email you videos to watch on how to clean your machine. Finally after I lost my temper they set up an appointment for a tech to come out. We will see what happens. This leak is substantial and has caused major water damage and possibly mold to the walls and floor. Has destroyed the item stored within 6 feet of the washer. I would have called sooner but instead I thought the pipes in my walls or slab leak. After turning the water off to my home I discovered it was my brand new washing machine.

Initially the LG double oven and 5 burner stove top looked amazing. It did just what we wanted it to do during the holidays. The super boiler burner is great. The double oven did everything we needed for the holiday dinners. The only problem is the burners turn on (Gas) with the least amount of pressure on the knobs. Other reviews have express the same danger and LG does not have a fix according to other reviews. I went to my local hardware store and bought springs that I cut to length and placed them behind the knobs to provide the need for more pressure to activate the ignition. Its a matter of time before clothing or other items get caught on fire. Especially with the Super Boiler burner.

Our Washer Model WT1101 ran great for 18 months and we joined the rest of you with the constant UE error message, long wash times, noisy, etc. Call local authorized LG appliance repair service and they immediately replaced the Rotor assembly which is located below the tub. A 20 minute fix, our out of pocket was the service call, $140. Rotor replacement was a warranty fix. Since then the machine runs fine, no issues.

This was my first major purchase after the death of my husband, and I did my due diligence, I thought. After much research, I went with the LG. It has been wonderful, until it stopped making ice, then no cold water, then the freezer stopped working and finally the fridge portion. I called 2 different companies for their estimates. Both told me to throw the refrigerator out. It is only 5 years old. Cost me almost 2500.00 new from Brandsmart. After reading online reviews I find this is happening to many consumers and all with the same problem. I feel so cheated. My advice is to stay with Whirlpool, GE, or KitchenAid.

My LG doesn’t have an agitator, so my good clothes are holding up better. However, the washer does not get clothes very clean. The water economy is dramatic, reduced my water usage by 50%. This is my first HE model, it is ok, but nothing special. It is 3 years old and hasn’t broken down. For the price point $1600 for the pair, it is very average.

We bought an LG freezer on the bottom french door refrigerator a couple of years ago. One year later, the computer board went out. It wasnt in the warranty. We had to pay for a new computer board. We had to spend a great deal of money for ice in the ice chest to keep things from spoiling. That went on for 3 weeks until the new board arrived. The LG stopped working again soon after. We had to buy a new one, this time, a Maytag. It was bought Oct. 28 and today, the freezer stopped working. Now it has started up again. Very strange. We had given our 15 year old Whirlpool refrigerator to our daughter when we bought the LG and that old Whirlpool is still working like a charm. Thats because it has no computer board on the back! Why on earth do name brand companies compromise their name by manufacturing these inferior products now and use a computer board? They take no pride in their name. Their refrigerators are made in Korea, not the US, and are made to be disposable. Never mind the expense to the consumer. Can anyone tell me why there has to be computer boards to run a refrigerator? They are never reliable. I would love to bring a class action lawsuit to manufacturers of these appliances and computer boards, but dont know where to start. I am sure everything is made in Korea. Shame on all those manufacturers!

LG WT1101CW - Bought new just over 1 1/2 years. It worked fine for over a year and now it cannot complete a load without stopping because it is out of balance. Had a repairman check it out and he stated that LG said it needed the new update control board at a cost of over $500.00 before he could even diagnose problems. This is almost as much as a new machine. Obviously they are aware of a problem if the main control board is already being updated. The repairman said he could not guarantee that this would fix the problem. This machine is horrible. Contacted LG customer service and they could not diagnose using their phone diagnostic system. They stated they could give us a repair company name and stated the machine was out of warranty.

Purchased this washer (WT1101CW) January 2014. Its been two years of rebalancing accompanied with numerous draining and refills as this machine struggles to complete a load. Have had a technician visit us three times and he made sure the machine is level, has a new board with updated firmware and still we have problems. Even more telling is the fact that a tub clean cycle (water only) cannot finish without the machine stopping to display UE. Ive given up. For a quick wash our neighbors have let us use their washing machine. In the meantime my solution is unfortunately to move to a different brand of washing machine.

After a week of looking the warranty company cannot find anyone to do service so they issued a credit for me to purchase another refrigerator. So I am getting a different brand. Six months ago, the hot water valve had to be replaced in #2 washer. Today the cold water valve had to be replaced in #1 washer again. I paid over $2,000.00 for these washers. Just like the many others on this site, I purchased a match set of LG laundry appliances from Home Depot just over four years ago. I also purchased a four-year bumper to bumper warranty and thank goodness I did. Shortly after we had them, the dryer drum had to be replaced because it split. Drum number 3 was installed 3/1/11 because of the same issue. Now, it has split and I need yet another drum (#4). But of course, the bumper to bumper warranty is no longer in place so I am going to see if my home warranty will cover it. I called the company that did the last warranty repair and they quoted me $368 to repair again with guarantee that it wont happen in another few months. They said it happens all the time. I noticed someone on this site said the stainless steel drums should have a five-year warranty but not sure that is correct.

I purchased a supposedly very nice LG Refrigerator, but after 3 years the compressor failed. After two more years, the new compressor failed again. Now I know the these units have a faulty linear compressor design that make them fail like clockwork every 2/3 years. The worse part? LG does not make it any easier to fix the product. Unless they are LG certified contractors, they require a letter of authorization that only the owner of the unit can ask for, so they can order the parts. In January of 2016 I took delivery of a set of LG Black Stainless Kitchen appliances from Lowes. I purchased stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. They were very expensive and what I consider to be high end in terms of models. Within a short time, I began to notice the refrigerator scratched at the drop of a hat. This was not my experience with prior stainless appliances. I learned the black stainless just has a black film on it and it is not the true color of the stainless.Just 2 years later, I am seeing the black coating or film peel away from the handles on my dishwasher. Just having a ring on and opening the door to the fridge is leaving scratches. Plus spots of where the film is wearing off are on the front of the fridge and at the edges of the door. The film near the handles on the dishwasher is peeling away. I called LG and they could care less. Since it is more than one year old, too bad for the consumer. There is no product on the market to try and at least cover the appearance of this faulty coating. So, just 2 years and over $7000 later I am stuck with products that are obviously defective in terms of the finish. I will NEVER do business with LG again since they gave me a defective product and will not stand behind what they sell the consumer. I have seen other negative reviews about this same issue. There should be a class action against this company for this product.

I wish I would have read reviews on here before purchasing. I bought four LG kitchen appliances less than a year ago. My fridge/freezer stopped working correctly and I have been getting the run around from LG for the past week. I have been calling every 24 hours for an update. Each time I call, I get a new timeline. First it was 24-48 hours, then it was 3 business days, then 3-5 business days, then they escalated my case which means another 3-5 business days. They tell me they cannot find someone in my area to come repair it although I live in suburban Chicago. Ive called service providers listed on their website who said they could come out the next day but LG has still not contacted them directly. LG Black Stainless Model #LFXC24726D - I have had my doors replaced twice.
LG Black Stainless Model #LFXC24726D - I have had my doors replaced twice. Last week the tech David ** here in Northern California came out to replace the freezer and one refrigerator door. When he replaced the freezer door he chipped the plastic on the freezer prying the old paint skin off. Then he scratched the new skin by the handle in the corner. It looks like the new skin that was replaced on the freezer doesnt fit this model because now all that you can see where the handles are is the white plastic. I called within 15 minutes of David leaving to complain about the chipped plastic. He came back to the house, took pictures and sent it on to customer service in Alabama to Jessica the Executive Supervisor. The following day I got an email saying they would be out on 10/18/18 between 8-12. Of course on 10/18/18 around 10:45 I get a call from Jessica the Executive Supervisor saying that they would not be fixing the chip that the tech made and that the case was closed and they would not be coming out anymore. I asked if they had reviewed my two email dated 10/21/18 on the other two issues. She said no and that I would get a call from her within 24-48 hours. Of course no call so I called on 10/22/18 and Jessica was not available so I spoke to Bill Executive Service Supervisor and told that I would have to pay for the new freezer door and service call on something that the tech David ** messed up. My only recourse is to appeal to the Office of the President (no phone number to speak to anyone in that office). At this point I will be complaining to the Bureau of Consumer Protection, Better Business Bureau and looking to see if there is a Class Action Lawsuit going on.

I bought an LG refrigerator 5yrs ago. I have had problems with the freezer area freezing up and causing problems then I started having other problems, the compressor went bad and it was under warranty for 10 yrs. I called LG and they wanted to just push me off and give me a bunch of BS. They gave me a number of one of their certified companies to come work on it, so I do just that. The company comes out and I had to pay for the service call, then they told me that I had to pay for the part, which is 800.00 and then I had to get LG to refund me. Then I called LG and they said, No, that the company had to get it. The company that LG sent out to my house refused to buy the piece, stating that LG does not want to refund them the product. I should not have to deal with this. I finally got that issue taken care of and not something else is wrong with the refrigerator. I am done, getting rid of it, and I will NEVER have another LG product. EVER.

Do not waste your money on anything LG. Bought a refrigerator. Within 7 months it stopped working. Sent a tech out. Fixed the problem. Now the refrigerator again is down, 4 years old, compressor went. Lost everything in the refrigerator because no error codes came up on it. Had the compressor, filter dryer and evap. Of course LG knows theres problems with their refrigerators, it been a known problem, but you still have to pay for labor. Well lo and behold. All that replaced and the piece of junk still not working. Will not take a charge. Tech company called LG to deem it unrepairable, now they want them to fix the capillary tubes and replace them. Since they want that repaired, I asked if they were paying for the labor? Of course not. Look into it before purchase. Many Lawsuits over the same issue. Even if the repair is successful 3 months down the road youre fixing it again. Almost a month still no refrigerator and $400 worth of food in the garbage. The customer service reps know its an issue and agree youll be fixing it again and again but their PCP department for the techs still insist on having repair after repair done. Please do research on their products before you purchase. LG stand for Luxurious Garbage. Now Im just bringing them to small claims court. Oh forget any repair place coming to change out the capillary tubing. NO ONE WILL EVEN TOUCH IT. Thanks LG for the Luxurious Garbage you sell, stick with TVs.

Bought our LG washing machine at RC Willey. After 6 months we get the dreaded UE error code. Weve had a repair company out 4 times now. 3 control boards, a water inlet valve and a dispenser tray. The repair guy also warned us about a number of other parts to expect to go out. LG corporate attitude is well keep fixing it till your warranty runs out then youre on your own! Never again will I buy anything LG! Going back to Whirlpool.

I bought 2!!!! stacked washer and dryers. It came with no parts to change it from shipping to useable! I have been waiting weeks and weeks for LG to send me the parts. My machines are just sitting here. The co. I bought it from and LG are blaming each other and no one will just send the parts. The LG book says DO NOT USE if you dont have these parts. But they wont send them or pick them up and let me get a set that has the parts. I have been on hold with customer service of LG for 2+ hours 3 times and they say they will send them and then dont! This is the biggest joke. I am stuck with two machines that dont work. NEVER PURCHASE LG unless you are good with a product that just sits there because once you pay not their issue.

LG TOP LOADER WT4970CW. This set was $1200 on sale and should have just bought a cheap one. It took me literally from 7am to 5 to wash a load because of off balance issues. Then it still wasnt done, clothes smelled like mildew so I emptied the washer and boxed it back up and returned it. I dont have time to babysit. DO NOT BUY THIS! Bought from Menards in Columbus, Indiana. I called LG at the request of Menards, just to find out that these issues are not uncommon.

All I got is you are out of warranty, I do understand but we do buy appliance every year. This is not right. They make mass production, lots of mistake and cant stand by their product. I was told you have to send receipt to show proof of purchase, then one agent set up a appointment and cancel without letting me took a day off for this. Food going bad, losing energy. Purchased a LG electric range, dishwasher and refrigerator and microwave. My wife and I decided this would be a present for both of us for our 25th wedding anniversary. We decided to get the top of the line stove with the convection stove, black glass top self cleaning range. The oven was blue inside and all the appliances were stainless steel. Within a few months we used the self cleaning feature on the oven and afterwards, the stove digital display showed an error and nothing worked. We called and after a several weeks, we had a service person come and repair the oven. It seemed that an electrical component had burned out. We again after a month or so used the self clean feature and once again display showed an error and once again waited for a repair. The second repairman told it this the same electrical component had burned out. He informed us that it was an LG design flaw which vented the 500 plus degree cleaning temperature vented partially on the circuit board burning it out. He said to avoid this, to not use the self cleaning feature. So this top of the line self cleaning oven had to be hand scraped clean. We have now noticed that the outer door on the oven is starting to fall off. The inner door is in place and the only thing holding the outer door on right now is the handle. Why of course we are out of warranty and now do we pay outrageous service call fees and parts or let it fall the rest of the way apart and trash it? The refrigerator shelves are flimsy and several have cracks and it takes, if you dont use it, approximately 4 days for the ice bin to fill. Its too bad that you can spend a great deal of money on a product and have problems with it several months after making the purchase. My wife is a Real Estate Broker and will make sure no new or homeowners needing appliance to steer clear of LG products.

We had bought an LG television which was our first LG purchase. Then I was at Lowe’s one day and needed a new refrigerator. We ended up purchasing the LG French door refrigerator in a little over four years ago and I loved it. It was everything I expected until the compressor went out. It took four weeks to get it fixed which was a long time. There are two ice makers. One in the door and one in the bottom drawer. We noticed that it wasn’t making ice. At first, it was still cold, but over a couple of days it stopped keeping things frozen. A couple of days after that, nothing was cold in the refrigerator.I called the number that’s inside the refrigerator and they wanted to know the details of when I purchased it and did I have proof of purchase. I’m not sure how that worked between LG and the people that came out but they had to contact a rep and she said, “We don’t have a rep in your area.” Someone else called me and scheduled. They said it would be a week. Then I called back and they said they had to reschedule because they didn’t have an LG repairman in Alabama. They were gonna have to get a certified LG repairman to come and fix it. They had me describe what the unit did. They were able to determine that it was probably the compressor and they sent the parts. About two weeks after we got the part, the LG repairman came from Georgia and fixed the refrigerator. I haven’t had any issues with it since the gentleman fixed it but I probably wouldn’t buy any LG refrigerator again.

I purchased an LG French Door refrigerator with model # LFX28978 last May 2011. The freezer has had constant problems with frost, not closing properly, seal defect, etc. I have had numerous calls with LG. The last one, the lady who answered said and I quote You have to remove the second drawer, open the door twice every 27 times you open the freezer door, pull up and down on the door and to align the track and slam close twice. This is the most stupid thing I have ever heard in my life. This isnt going to work, there is some kind of design defect and LG should replace it.

Current elapsed time of this issue is now 1 and 1/2 months. The LG refrigerator (LFXC24726S/02) stopped working on April 27, 2018. The refrigerator is still under warranty. I bought a kitchen suite of 4 appliances through Costco which included the refrigerator. LG did not want to honor the warranty at first. After several calls they sent a technician who determined it was a defective compressor. 2 weeks elapsed and neither LG nor I heard from him again. After several calls to LG a second technician came and also determined it was a defective compressor. He ordered the compressor. He finally came to our house but refused to install the compressor because LG had not paid him for previous service calls and demanded payment for his services upfront. He was rude and discourteous. He said LG failed to provide him with the info to process the repair. He did not want to talk to the LG customer service either. I was able to get him the info so he could proceed. He installed the compressor under duress. He left right away. The repair to the refrigerator failed.I had contacted Costco and Costco and LG have been going back and forth to make a final determination to provide a refund. There is still no determination. I have kept notes of the ineptitude of LG, its customer service, its repair services and its unwilling to fulfill the obligations of the warranty. I have spent countless hours trying to find a resolution. I have been without a refrigerator and have lost food to spoilage. I am not happy that Costco is also unable to leverage LG to address the issue. I am being neglected and not responded to because of LGs lack of care toward its customers. It is further distressing that a company can flat out not fulfill the warranty obligations of its products.

Our refrigerator which cost $2,300 stopped working on Feb. 1st. A call to the number in the manual connected me to a call center somewhere in the world to a person who did not understand English. They referred me to an LG authorized repair service. After 2 weeks and 3 visits and $372.00, the refrigerator still did not work!!! They told me that I need to get an LG factory technician.I called LG who then told me that I must purchase a 60-day extended warranty for $253,29. They set up an appointment a week later with another LG AUTHORIZED repair service. On the day of the appointment we called the service only to be told that he was too busy and that LG did not send him the parts which he needed to do the repair. I called the LG number again who made an appointment with another service. It is now 3 weeks and they are still waiting for the parts!!! To be continued. I thought Comcast and AT&T were bad!!! We bought LG French Door Refrigerator in 2012, ever since then we kept having issues and paid for Repair. I already spent over $1000 on repair within 5 years. And my Refrigerator is no longer useful without new compressor installation. Now Freon gas leak, compressor fail, with out of warranty, I need to pay almost $460 again for New compressor installation. Customer service is not organized; they give few numbers of authorized service center which they do not install compressor or not in service in my area. I Spent time on calling back to customer service several times. Well, now we need to dispose crappy refrigerator and will pay for a new one. Do not buy LG Appliances. I purchased an LG washing machine on November 26, 2011. The technician from LG came and put it to function by November 28, 2011. On my 1st use on December 4, 2011, I was shocked to discover a considerable leakage of water underneath the washing machine. I called for repair. First, they adjoined a torn part, then on the second call, they changed the host with leakage with another one. I discovered later in early January 2012 that some considerable number of clothes came out completely dry without being washed. I called for repair. The technician came and said that he cleared something that blocked the way for water passage. I discovered that Im still suffering of the same problem. I sat in front of the washing machine to watch it, then I found that no water was visible from the window and clothes came out with detergents. They came and changed the water balance. Frankly speaking, I lost count of how many times they would come and make repairs in a defective machine that doesnt function.I simply need the value of paid money. I need them to change the defective machine with another one thats functioning well, as I have lost patience with them over the last 6 months. I care about the image of the company, knowing that I also have other LG appliances at home, and I dont want to lose confidence in LG as a brand name. Please, if you are not concerned with my complaint, direct me to the one in charge to resolve my problem. Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation.

A little over three years and the washer WM2455H, a front loader broke making a grinding sound and the drum wouldnt turn. I got hold of service on a Sunday evening and a service technician came out on Tuesday evening. Its $89 to walk in the door and 10 mins. to figure out the rotor splines stripped, but he didnt have part. He fitted me in on a Friday evening and was charged a total of $150 labor for a 10 min. job. Part is covered under warranty but I could have bought the part for $80 and saved $70 and days without washer. Technician was very nice and helpful. He spent more time having to do his electronic paperwork than fixing machine (I blame the company). Also, the digital minute readout has some of it pixels out. Im just complaining of the reliability of a machine just 3 yrs old.

We bought an LG refrigerator 3 years ago. It stopped cooling. The repairman said that LG would provide a compressor but would not pay for labor, which could be from $600-$1100. He suggested that we cut our losses and purchase a different brand. Neither LG nor Lowes, where we purchased the refrigerator, were concerned that we lost a refrigerator full of food and had paid a lot of money for a product that was now worthless. Lowes corporation is aware of the problems with LG but continue to sell them. When I expressed my frustration, a Lowes employee said we should have bought their warranty.

I purchased my LG side-by-side refrigerator from Best Buy in October 2016.
I purchased my LG side-by-side refrigerator from Best Buy in October 2016. Initially I was very pleased with the unit, no problems until late June 2018. The temperature dropped significantly and the freezer no longer kept food frozen. I was informed after placing a service call that the compressor ceased to work and other updates were needed to the refrigerator. One year later in July 2019 the freezer and refrigerator are again working insufficiently. I have lost a ridiculous amount of food in both the freezer and refrigerator. I am again using a cooler, buying ice frequently. I contacted the LG customer service department this past Sunday July 21, 2019 to inform staff of a malfunctioning refrigerator and to complain that this was the second incident in three years. I was given an appointment for July 25, 2019. My husband took the day off of work in order to receive the repairman. After no one showed, my husband contacted LG customer service department and was informed that the appointment had been canceled. We did not cancel the appointment. LG customer service informed us after some time that A& E Factory Service, their contractor, canceled the appointment and did not inform LG nor did they inform us of the cancellation. Eventually my husband was given an appointment for August 5th 2019, two-weeks from the originally scheduled appointment. He explained the challenges in retaining food, money lost, and that we have a five year old daughter who had clumpy milk that had to be discarded... the next available appointment was moved to August 1, 2019. I phoned yesterday, July 25, 2019 explained the above and inquired about the earliest available appointment. After being on the phone for twenty minutes I was informed that the earliest possible appointment is still August 1, 2019 however it is not confirmed, therefore I do not have a concrete appointment as of yet. I was told that someone will call us to confirm the actual August 1, 2019 appointment next week. I am very disappointed. I am very dissatisfied. Purchased new microwave (plus suite of electronics) made by LG (Model LMV1683ST) at HH Gregg. Did not do extended warranty. Purchased Jan 2014 and died June 6, 2015. Will not heat nor will turntable turn. Called LG and went thru diagnostics, which I had already performed. I asked them about write ups online about this model number that indicated a design flaw that causes this issue. They declined to answer. If I were in Australia we would have had a two year warranty, but not in the US. They provided a list of places I could call for service but none of them provided it in our area. And lastly on our chat they did say it was a good thing I kept our 20 year old back up that still works great (not an LG). They dont even offer any type of trade in for something that is 18 months old to try to entice us to purchase another LG replacement. So I am sorry that I had to provide even one star as a rating. HH Gregg will not offer any incentive but they did hook us up with a repair center that will cost us $99 to come out as a minimum.

Purchased an LG side-by-side refrigerator with door-in-door option (M/N LSXS26366D, S/N 709MRFP09283). The first problem is that the software function occasionally (about every nine months or so) turns off the compressor with no alarming what-so-ever. You have to watch for water on the floor and freezer items starting to thaw. You have to remove power for 15 seconds and then turn it back on to get the system operating again. Nothing in the manual about it. I had to find that out looking at on-line complaints. The final problem is the compressor died 2 years and 10 months into operation (purchased Oct 2017, now Aug 2020). No alarm for that either. Looked the same as the controller failure, but this time resetting several times didnt work. Tragically, you cannot get the door-in-door option anywhere else. Maybe with some luck I can find a repair person that can remove the LG installed Linear Compressor with something more reliable. If the controller is what died (rest of the unit works, just no cold air), then I purchased a very expensive dump decoration.

We purchased a brand new LG Refrigerator LFX33975 fall of 2013 prior to moving into our new home. In less than a year 1/2, we noticed the bottom of the left side door beginning to rust on the bottom side. Directly below the ICE/WATER dispenser due to a manufacturers leaking problem. We called LGs warranty department and they sent an LG specialist to come out and take a look at our complaint. He determined that there was a leak caused by the ice and water dispenser. The leak was due to a manufacturers default. Because the dispenser should have never leaked out into the bottom of the door frame which caused the rust. The LG specialist said he would have to order a new door and a new ice maker that were shipped directly to our home. He then called to find out if both parts had been delivered and we told him yes. We then arranged an appointment for him to come out and replace these parts. Now they want us to be responsible for the repair cost of $224.70 that they should have come out and repaired at their cost. We are even being harassed by a collection agency which even sent us a letter demanding payment. Such an expensive fridge should not have this problem especially being just over one year of owning this fridge. I am sure that there are many disappointed customers dealing with the same manufacturers defect. They deserve to have a class action suit put on them. If LG is harassing us like this I can just imagine how awful they are to others. I will never again buy any LG products in the future!!! WE ARE NOT PAYING FOR THEIR MISTAKE!!!

Not really happy with the machine nor LG customer service. My fiancé got a really good deal on the washer but a year later, we found out why the machine was discontinued. We could not take the machine back nor get our money back. We had the update and now I regret purchasing this machine. Some days I feel like the machine will still blow. I dont like how it bangs against the sides. It tends to keep running. What was a water saver is not a water saver no more. LG has really bad customer service and I think they should be giving refunds out. I purchased an LG refrigerator. I received it on October 9th 2020. By October 26, 2020 I was already calling LG because the refrigerator was no longer working. LG sent out 3 different technicians who gave me different reports with issues with the refrigerator the compressor, the panel and issues inside of the refrigerator. I was unhappy with the product and asked LG if I could get a new refrigerator or a refund because I did not feel comfortable accepting LG to repair a product I only had for 17 days. After going back and forth and speaking to one supervisor Cecilia I was told that I needed to submit of purchase for the refrigerator to an email they provided and that someone from the refund department would contact me within 5 days.I never received a call so I called them in which a customer service representative told me my claim was denied and he couldn’t give me a reason why. I called back on Monday November 30th. Asked to speak with a supervisor. She refused to give me her name. She transferred me to the refund dept. They then informed me that they never denied my claim because the customer service dept never submitted my claim. They put in their notes that I needed to accept the repair. It is now December 1, 2020. I still do not have a refrigerator. I have 4 small children and I have to buy food everything to cook for them. This is unacceptable and the worse customer service I have received.

We are without a washing machine and LG does not stand behind their product
We are without a washing machine and LG does not stand behind their products. From all the reviews, it appears we do have enough people to level a class action suit against LG. Are you in? We purchased a LG front-loading washing machine in November 2014 from Home Depot. When the machine was delivered, there was rust inside the drum. We called Home Depot and complained and two weeks later (a month and a half after purchase) we finally received a new washer. Around the end of June 2015, (6 months) I noticed a loud notice when the clothes were washing, it sounded like the drum was rubbing. I mentioned it to my husband who told me it was nothing. In July the noise was getting louder so I called LG for service. The customer service was atrocious! They told me that the technician was only available on 1 day and that if I was not available, then I would have to call back because they did not have a schedule for the technician the following week. I asked the representative to call me back when they had a schedule and he agreed, but I never got a call back. I called the following week and again I was told they only had a schedule for Tuesday. I asked for a supervisor, Cherry, who advised me to keep Wednesday, Thursday and Friday open for the technician and that she would call me. I asked her to have a member of management call me and she said they would call me back in 48 to 72 business hours. After 96 business hours, no one called me back, so I called again. A supervisor, Vincent, said he would get a technician out there on Monday. The technician arrived on Monday, and stated it was stator assembly and rotor assembly but stated hopefully it is not the drum, and that he would order the parts and be back on Tuesday to replace them. When he showed up on Tuesday to replace the parts, he said, oh no - the drum shaft is bent and that we would need a whole new rebuild of the machine. He then told my husband to call Customer Service because he could not order the parts (he was able to order them the day before) - that we needed to order them through Customer Service. While my husband was on the phone with Customer Service, the technician Nick just left. My husband then spent the whole day on Wednesday trying to get answers. Mid-day he was able to contact Sherry in the Executive Offices who told him she would research the issue and contact him by the end of the day about replacing the unit. She did contact him back and asked him to get the invoice because she did not have the information - however LG had the purchase date, model number and place of purchase. I then tried to contact Sherry the following day. Sherry indicated to me that she spoke to LG Management and that they refused to replace the machine but would order the parts for rebuild. When I asked Sherry when the parts would be in, and when we could expect the repairs to be done, she stated, The technician will give you a call when the parts arrive to schedule service. I then explained to her this was not acceptable to have a time frame and that I also wanted to keep the parts that are replaced for evidence. She told me she did not think I could do that, that decision would be up to the technician. I explained again that I was keeping the parts for evidence. My husband then called back and asked to speak with Sherrys manager. Amber, who answered the phone, said that she was Sherrys manager and there was no one above her to speak to. She stated that LG will not replace the machine, and that someone would call us when the parts arrive. We are without a washing machine, and LG does not stand by their products. NEVER, EVER, BUY LG. You will have dirty clothes and you will have $1000 less in your pocket! 10-year warranty - BS!

A few days after cleaning dishes it smelled like something died in the unit but the smell was inside. After putting off calling LG I could not stand the smell any more so I emailed them. They e-mailed me back with recommendations such as Check your disposal for odors and try putting in vinegar and run a cycle with no dishes. Did not help the odor still there.A few days later this was still barely in warranty. I emailed again and they gave me a claim number and a repair service to call, the service guy said You still have to pay and that claim number is a conversation number not for me to charge LG. Repairs that would cost $300 and replace a part is up to me and you will not have the odor again. Yeah right I think it a bad design on the draining system that bacteria starts to develop. They do not stand behind their products. I even stated in second email that if the service guy says its my fault I would pay for the call. At this point I am probably going to buy a different brand. My KitchenAid lasted for 12 years with no issues.

Clothes get twisted and tangled up with each other (sleeves and pant legs - anything with length). Design is terrible - curved top not a good surface. You cant set anything on top because it slides off! The wash drum is too deep and you have to reach way down to get clothes! How do short people get their clothes out?Overall, this set w/ dryer is very poor design - too many buttons & choices to chose from! Hope this machine breaks soon so I can get rid of it on Craigslist for cheap!

Update 08/21/2019:After posting this review LG was quick to respond with to a private exchange to stand behind their product. We had several exchanges concluding with me sending them the details and invoice from the LG certified repair company we had used to assess the unit. Unfortunately after this exchange we have received no further communication from LG. They had stated they would stand behind the quality of their product however after more than 2 weeks of silence and a not functioning refrigerator I am losing confidence. I am disappointed that they set the expectation that they would help and then have failed to respond. Not only because I would like their help but I need to decide if I need to buy a new refrigerator. Ironically the short term solve has been to use a 20 year old Amana unit in the garage which has never needed any repairs. Maybe we should go back to a more reliable brand. Original review:We bought an LG refrigerator when we purchased a new home. 5 year and 2 months later the board has gone out, the fan motor isnt working, and our repair man says the defrost is also not working. To fix it will cost more than $1000 with parts and labor. Very disappointed to be needing a new unit after just 5 years.

Bought a Kenmore elite French door refrig made by LG. It had 4 problems within 1 year. All problems are related to freezer fan. Error code ff. Sears covered the first 3 repairs with warranty and gave up on the 4th repair. We switched to another lg French door lfx31945st. About half month passing 2 years, it showed error code rf, refrig fan problem. Temp in refrig is not even. Some are frozen, other stuff are over 40f degree. I just ed called repair for $274 to cover under $500 repair cost for a year. Not fixed yet. Never buy lg again!!!

This refrigerator listed for $3500. It was the largest ever at the time. I so wish I had never purchased this refrigerator.

We bought the LG LFX25978ST French door refrigerator on 5-1-2013 from HH Gregg. Was working okay until Oct 5, 2013 (5 months) when it suddenly stopped making ice & freezer contents were mushy, soft. Called LG. They told me to reset the ice maker & it should be fine. Reset twice, still no ice. Called LG on Oct 6th again. They told me to get a new filter or bypass plug (which should have been left with me when they delivered) which I did on Oct 7th. Put the bypass plug in... still no ice & freezer not freezing. Called LG back. They said they would schedule a service tech to repair. After several calls from the repair people about the date of purchase, serial #, model # finally they said they would have to order a new ice maker & when the parts came in they would schedule the repair. Finally came out on Oct 17th!! 12 days with no ice & very little freezer. Had to buy ice & use ice trays in my garage freezer. When the repairman came out on Oct 17th, he had a new motherboard & a new ice maker.... Took him 2 hours to replace the ice maker in the door... Had to take it back out several times because the ice container was too tight. He said it would take 8 hours to make ice, to call him in the morning if it did not. Well... still no ice & worst now... no freezer. Lost about $80.00 of food... ice cream melted completely & all over the bottom. Called the repair service next day Oct 18th, told them no freezer, no ice. They told me they would send the tech out again but could not until Oct 21st. Also called LG about my defective refrigerator. They said it wasnt defective & they would not replace it until it was deemed unrepairable. Very unsympathetic & rude! They told me I must allow them to repair. Repairman came back out Oct 21st & was on the phone to LG Tech. Put thermometers in freezer & refrigerator was finally diagnosed as a bad compressor!! This refrigerator is only 5 months old!!! I had a Frigidaire before that was 16 yrs old & I never had a bad compressor. Called LG again & asked what they were going to do about my refrigerator. They told me that it was not unrepairable. That I had to allow them to replace the compressor or they would do nothing!!!! So after talking to HH Gregg a couple of times, with no help from them either, HH Gregg said I would have to allow them to do the repairs. You would think that HH Gregg would stand behind their products also. I had bought all 4 new appliances from HH Gregg but only the refrigerator was an LG. So as it stands now, I have a different service provider that LG sent an email to, not listing the replacements parts (I had to give them that info so they could order the compressor). They are scheduled to come out Nov 6th with the new compressor. But Saturday Nov 2nd, my refrigerator is not cooling!!! I bought a ref thermometer & the temp in the refrigerator is 55 degrees!!! I have no other refrigerator!!!I paid $2300 for this LG refrigerator on 5-1-2013. I have no refrigerator, no freezer & no ice. LG does not care!!! I am still trying to get either LG or HH Gregg to replace this defective refrigerator & I guarantee I will never purchase another LG product. You would think that there should be some help when a product you purchase does not meet even minimal standards.

I just purchased my LG double oven range one month ago. Cleaned the cooktop as required by manufacturer. Razored off the food stuck on as by manufacturing specs. A stuck on piece of rice being scraped off by the razor provided with the range caused a chip in the glass. The rice and a piece of glass top came off together. LG states this is not covered under warranty and will not repair. Cleaning a stuck on piece of anything should not cause a piece of glass to come off with it. I bought 3 LG appliances at the same time and I will not buy again. I have had a glass cooktop range before. Cleaned it several times the same way never a problem. This range was over $1000. That glass top should be bulletproof as far as I’m concerned.

Purchased front loading LG washer and dryer in Dec 2011. In Feb of 2015 (just over 3 years old), the tub seal around the door developed a hole and was leaking water all over the floor. I went online to discover this problem was chronic. Replaced Rubber tub door seal, but developed leak AGAIN just 10 mos later. Called LG, but they refused to do anything because out of warranty. I am unable to justify pouring any more money into what I believe to be defective product and have decided to simply buy a new washer. LG brand is unreliable and defective. We unplugged the stove for an hour and still the oven doesn’t heat. Also, the burner control knobs just turn on their own by the slightest bump. Came recommended by family member to begin with. We liked the fridge size the most. A lot of room for veggies and other daily things we eat. The brand itself received a lot of good marks when my wife research it online before making the purchase. Customer service has been outstanding with this fridge. We made a great choice. Has ice maker with cubes or crushed ice. Everything fresh and cold, space for eggs and produce. Able to hold milk in the door. Doors fit salad dressing and the smaller bottle that need to be refrigerated. Freezer a little small seems like hard to put larger items in the freezer one or maybe 2 larger meat items. Small drawer can hold vegetables and popsicle ice cream bars but its a little small.

I bought an LG refrigerator in Sept 2016, it failed April 2019. I have been without a working refrigerator for over 4 months. They have attempted to replace the compressor 3 times, 2 of these times they also replaced the motherboard, each time its failed. LG told me that they would attempt to repair 3 times before a replacement would be issued. On the day of the 3rd failed attempt I called and was told that they were submitting the approval for a replacement. After not hearing back I called and Im now being told that each of those repairs fell into the same type of repair and that they will be sending a technician to try something different. Not until today was I offered a $150 credit towards a mini- refrigerator. Im being given quite the run-around, a different story each time I call it seems and Im at the end of my rope. How much time am I supposed to take off work to meet repair men, will they attempt this new type of repair 3 more times, then will they try something new? How long will this go on - a year? A refrigerator should last longer than 2.5 years, PERIOD. They are aware they are selling defective refrigerators. There are class action lawsuits about these compressors. Enough is enough. Send me a new unit or give me my money back.

After reading on the energy savings we bought an LG HE front loader in 2010. Well, after reading my booklet and other information, I understood that have to keep the door open to not have odors in the washer. We have terrible build-up of mold inside the rubber gasket. I am allergic to mold. I have to get in there and clean with bleach but still comes back. I will say it cleans my clothes. You only need a tablespoon of detergent. But my problem now is the terrible LOUD noise it makes every time it empties the water out. Goes off-balance all the time with small loads. CANNOT wash a small throw rug. Its IMPOSSIBLE to find a reputable repairman. My mom bought the same washer 2011 and now her motor went after others issues with leaking. Shes going out and buying another name brand. I would never buy another LG appliance again.

I needed a dishwasher. LG had a whole set of stuff on sale and I thought it looked good. So I bought it all including the refrigerator and the washer. I also use LG phones, so I like their products. Within an hour after the service people left and delivered, I noticed a dent in the refrigerator door. We then had multiple appointments. The guy came out twice and he didn’t have what he needed. Then we had more appointments that were cancelled. Finally, I had one that they cancelled and when I called the vendor that I had been dealing with, they told me that I had to refile my claim. I then got a hold of LG directly and I found out that the vendor had ordered in a wrong door and all this time, they never returned it, so LG never sent them a replacement. So the vendor kept scheduling an install and they expected me to have the door. The vendor was not knowledgeable at all.It took about nine months to get the refrigerator done. But I love it. My favorite feature is that little extra door on it, but the shelving is not adjustable enough. I can’t get them on the height I would like them. And on the dishwasher, the settings are not made for American dishes. It’s small in the rack and certain spaces, and not as flexible as my older one was and it seems to not hold as many dishes, either.

We bought our French door refrigerator around December of 2018 when we purchased our new house. We have loved our unit until one day both of the coils for the fridge and freezer part went out. I placed a repair order in August of 2020. LG outsourced the repair work to a local repair shop which was fine. Here it is 10/25/2020 and we are still without a refrigerator. I have contacted LG and the repair company numerous times and nothing is being done about it. LG has basically washed their hands of the whole situation and put it on the backs of the repair company. I got tired of waiting for the refrigerator to be repaired because we have a large family (family of 8); I called LG back once more and requested LG to replace or refund the money from the initial purchase. Since then we are going on 2 weeks and I have still yet to hear from LG as to what the decision is on replacing it or refunding the money. We was happy with the unit while it was working but since then it has been a complete nightmare and I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT AGAIN IN MY LIFE because of this incident. I hope my review helps clear the air up for anyone thinking about making a purchase of a LG product.

I have been a follower of Consumers Reports for many years. When my 11 yr. old Electrolux started making noises I figured it was time to look for a new refrigerator. I was very happy with the French Dr. Electrolux so I chose to look for similar replacement. I went to Consumer Reports and found that it rated the LG LFXS28S96S/04 as the best French Door available. On 11-2-2021 I purchased one from Costco. I was very happy with most of the features, until it started making ice. Within a few days the door ice maker would not drop any ice. Upon checking I found that the ice in the small door ice maker were clumped together. Reading the instructions I had to break the clumps so the ice would come down the chute. In thirty years I had never encountered such a problem. I have a fifteen year old Maytag still working and prior to that a Sears which never gave me any problems with the ice maker. I cannot understand how Consumer Reports would have given the LG such high reviews that testing an actual use of the unit would have shown the problems with the door ice maker. I saw later that other consumers of the LG refrigerators have experience the same problems I did.

A week later they returned with a substitute that did not work so they said they would be back a couple of weeks when the correct door came in, that was October 2018 and I have been waiting ever since. All my phone calls to the appliance repair people end with them saying it still has not come in, it’s on backorder. At one point I called LG who confirmed the door is on backorder! Seriously it has been almost a year. Of course I had to pay the appliance repair person for the house call even though I told them the door needed to be replaced due to dents but they said that money would go towards the new door. Pictures of receipt and delivery receipt first they were going to send me a box and return it then they change their mind and said that before they could give me a refund because they dont repair countertop microwaves. They said first I had to buy a new LG microwave then send them pictures of the old labels cut or destroyed. Of the old microwave then they would give me refund. I proceeded to tell them that I did not want to buy another LG microwave because I thought they were crap and I should not have to buy another of their products. That didnt go over so well. All I wanted was the microwave to be repaired or replaced. I will not be forced to buy another one of their products. I already have the stove and refrigerator that had to be repaired five times in the first year. Part of a companys integrity is stand behind their product when something goes wrong and not forcing you to buy their product but instead encourage you to buy their product again by the service you received when something goes wrong. Now all I can think of is going to college for 8 years to become a lawyer to sue LG over their refund and return policies. But in reality will probably just use their piece of crap microwave for target practice to cite in my rifle.

We also splurged and purchased the LG combo after being told they were the best. We had them 4 months and the washer began to leak. We had the service people out 7 times. Of course, it would not leak when they were here. We also had the disgusting odor and high-pitched scream when filling with water. The service men informed us that it could no way be their problem--it had to be something we did. They also had no idea how to get rid of the smell. We were still under warranty at the time. I had to keep taking off time from work to be here when they were here. The last time they were here, though, I walked in on one of them talking to their dispatcher complaining that they had been here several times and they were making no money on this call. Isnt that great? I have a faulty washer and dryer and they are worried about money? What about the money we spent on these relics? Needless to say, that was the last time they were here. I just happened to ask a sales lady at Home Depot about the odor and she told me about the front panel and draining that tube and actually running Clorox bleach through the machine. She also said do not use Downy whatever you do as it builds up on the drum and does not come off and always leave the washer door open. But, now, there’s a new problem: the light never goes off in the washer. It used to. I emailed LG and their response was you need a service call. Are you kidding? If there is a class action suit, I want in. I have not talked to one person that is happy with their machine!
