I was disappointed to find my refrig was aluminum instead of the stated stainless steel. To check yours apply a magnetic to it. If it sticks, it is steel. If it doesnt, it is probably aluminum. It is so hard to keep clean and I can no longer keep my recipes or keepsakes or photos on it. Although the sides are not aluminum they are too closed in to use. As far as the workings go, it seems to be working fine. However it is only a few months old. I have only one complaint so far. It cost 50$ to replace the water filter every 6 mo. Whats with that? I never had to replace it on my old one and had no problems. Of course it wasnt an LG. Then I read that you have to have a LG repair man only to repair it. Not very customer friendly. I wish I had read the reviews before buying. Ill know better next time...

I have been very unhappy with our front load LG washer. It frequently leaves brown streaks and stains on our clothes and sheets. We cant get these stains out with bleach or other cleaning products even with multiple washes. Im sure the dollar value of ruined clothes and sheets is more than the washing machine cost! Imagine buying brand new clothes and sheets and theyre instantly ruined after one wash!Weve tried cleaning the inside of the washing machine multiple times with varying products. Weve also cleaned the soap dispenser and drain pump area. Weve spent lots of time trying to fix this, and we still get brown streaky stains on our clothes. It is very difficult to clean the drain pump filter area. It is so low to the ground that you cant get any item below it to collect the stinky water that flows out so it goes all over the floor. Were we supposed to install the washing machine on stilts?! The hose to drain the filter area has never worked. Its also very hard to clean the rubber door seal. We wipe it down after every use. It looks like some brown mildew gets stuck between the rubber seal and metal part of the door but its impossible to get to. I wish we had our old-school top loader washing machine.

A little over three years and the washer WM2455H, a front loader broke making a grinding sound and the drum wouldnt turn. I got hold of service on a Sunday evening and a service technician came out on Tuesday evening. Its $89 to walk in the door and 10 mins. to figure out the rotor splines stripped, but he didnt have part. He fitted me in on a Friday evening and was charged a total of $150 labor for a 10 min. job. Part is covered under warranty but I could have bought the part for $80 and saved $70 and days without washer. Technician was very nice and helpful. He spent more time having to do his electronic paperwork than fixing machine (I blame the company). Also, the digital minute readout has some of it pixels out. Im just complaining of the reliability of a machine just 3 yrs old.

This the worst dryer I have ever had! Wish I had never bought it. It started having problems immediately shutting off 5 minutes or less as soon as started with smaller and larger loads even with normal loads sometimes on every cycle except speed cycle which is the only cycle that you can adjust the time and temp on. I called LG and they conned me into thinking it was ok by doing some bogus test over the phone. The dry sensor is in the lint filter which is so narrow there is no way to clean it properly, it gets clogged easily so the sensor can’t tell if clothes are dry or wet and she told me that it was a problem anyway with larger or smaller loads, wtf? My sensor was not even dirty then. I have tried cleaning the filter case and it is impossible, it is too narrow to get my small hands in and too narrow for any of the numerous vacuum attachments I have tried. This is the worst design I have ever seen in my life!!!!I called for service finally with an extended plan with PC Richard and they were terrible.. Poop had gotten in the dryer and was in the filter case and he refused to remove the whole thing or even show me how to do it. He stuck a brush in and then turned it on and huge amounts of stuff went into the exit pipe, but it is still full of gunk and lint. He was not able to clean it properly with a brush either or just couldn’t be bothered.I wish I had returned immediately and bought a Speed Queen which will be my next dryer. I will never buy an LG product ever again and I may not purchase at PC Richard again either. Neither is helping at all yet with this situation. LG offered to send their own tech out after I demanded to speak with a supervisor, but she said I would be charged if they determined it was not a mechanical, etc. issue. Well, guess what, it IS a mechanical issue because of your crappy design. This is a terrible design flaw and the company does not stand behind their product and now apparently neither does PC Richard who we have purchased everything from for years.

I have Model ldt5665st. It installed easy, looks great. When it works it does an ok job with everything but drying. I did say WHEN it does work. The button panel will stop working. Usually I have to go down, turn off the breaker over night, turn back on in the morning and it will work. I had the install company come out a few times and power is going to it as required. It seems to do this every few months and as soon as I start making appointments it starts working again. Now here I am having to cook more because of the lock down, dishwasher not working and no service calls are being made. This is the 3rd LG Appliance I have bought in 8 years and all of them so far have needed to be replaced far before what I would expect a normal time frame. If you buy one, and they offer an extended warranty, TAKE IT! You will need it.

When I purchased my refrigerator 7 1/2 years ago there was no warning that it was about to be discontinued. Now I need a part for it or its an anchor for a rather large size boat. I have no respect for a company that dont carry parts for their products past 7 years. Who would have thought that you are supposed to consider making a nearly $2,500 purchase of an appliance as a throw-a-way.

As most of you know, I do not use social media as a living diary to post what I’m feeling, what I’m wearing or what we’re having for dinner tonight. However, today I am going to make an exception and share my story about why you shouldn’t buy an LG refrigerator as I head into week three without one as I continue to work with LG support.Let me start by saying, you can’t make this stuff up. The morning of Monday, May 18th started as any other Monday. I woke up at 5:30, turned on my computer, started my coffee, put the dogs out and reached into the refrigerator to get my cream. Imagine my surprise when I realized my 16 month old refrigerator [LFXS30766S] and freezer were warm. I’ve bulleted a the rest of this story to make it read faster for those of you who care to. • Called LG support, who deduced that it was probably the compressor and issued a service ticket [**] for 5/19 between 8-5 am EDT. [At no time does he mention that they have a known problem with their compressors which is why they have extended their one year parts and labor warranty into a five year warranty.] o I was thrilled to receive a call around lunchtime from the service company [J.O.A. ELECTRONICS] who told me he could come that same afternoon [5/18] to look at the refrigerator. o J.O.A. comes at 3 pm EDT, runs diagnostic, confirms it was the compressor, charges me $50 and starts to leave. I ask him how long it will take the part to come in.o J.O.A. then tells me LG will order compressor and fix the refrigerator that he can’t do it. [Are you freaking kidding me?] • Called LG support back and talked to a new service rep who told me: o J.O.A. Electronics shouldn’t have charged me $50 as my refrigerator was still under warranty and he should order the part so he can come back and fix it. o She then supplies ME with their contact info and tells ME I need to:  Call them and tell them they have to return my check. [as they shouldn’t have charged me] Confirm that they can order the part and fix the refrigerator. [Isn’t this why she’s getting paid?] • So at this point my husband gets home from work and calls J.O.A: o who refuses to return or destroy our check, causing us to call our bank and issue a stop payment [$30].o who also tells Steve that his job was to do a diagnostic, not order the part or fix the refrigerator just do a diagnostic. [seriously, this is who my service ticket from LG went to? What happened to a certified tech or company…] • Called LG support back [for those counting, this is call three on 5/18], and talk to another service rep who: o Listens to my tale. o Puts me on hold to talk to management; and then gets back on the phone to tell me, she can:  schedule an appointment [**] with Jude an LG certified technician, for 5/26 between 8-12 EDT [because Monday, 5/25 was Memorial Day] NOTE: that’s a week without a refrigerator DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND AFTER DOING A MONTH’S WORTH OF FOOD SHOPPING.o After slightly losing my **, let’s be honest folks, for all of those of you who know me, patience is not my strongest strength, I tell her fine and graciously accept the appointment with Jude the Savior for over a week away. We make due for the next week without a refrigerator [shopping daily/borrowing refrigerator space from friends]. Again, you can’t make this ** up. • So, joyous day, 5/26 arrives: o Jude [the long awaited LG certified tech] calls to tell me he’s running late and will be at our house closer to 1:30/2:00. o In the meantime, our address update from my calls a week earlier take effect and our town is updated. [they had the correct street address but the wrong city]o I immediately get a call from Jude, the LG certified tech and savior, who I have waited a week to come fix my refrigerator, who tells me our town isn’t in his territory so he won’t be coming because it’s too far. He cancels my RNN ticket. [We live 15 minutes from the wrong town in the ticket.] • Pissed off [major understatement], I called LG support, tell the service rep I want to speak to a supervisor, get put through to another minion, tell my story, AGAIN, including the J.O.A. mess, tells me he can get us serviced the next day [you see there’s no way we can get same day service because of COVID-19 and such – really, there’s a pandemic in play, this is news to me], 5/27, new ticket issued [**]. [We wait with baited breath to find out who is going to be coming to fix our refrigerator.] o I get a text telling me a service ticket has been issued and I will be contacted once a service center has confirmed.o J.O.A. ELECTRONICS accepts my ticket is confirmed as our service company. [again, you can’t make this ** up] • We call back LG support, express our frustration and concerns about J.O.A. being assigned the ticket and again tell him the story about J.O.A. an the incident that happened back on May 18th. o While we’re on hold, the service rep calls J.O.A. himself. [props Arnell as it was more than Diane did for us on 5/18]  They assure him they can do the job and they will call us to set up an appt.o We wait. [NO CALL. NO APPT SET UP.]• The morning of 5/27, I literally get woken up by a text from LG that says they are still looking for a provider to come as quickly as possible. I will be notified when an appt is confirmed.• I send an email complaint to the office of the president because he wants to be connected to his customers (5/27), outlining our dilemma and the challenge we’ve had getting service for our refrigerator. [Again, it’s only 16 months old]• 5/27, call LG support (again), to be disconnected (again), but this time Service Representative calls me back. We now have a case ticket (vs a repair ticket [CNN vs an RNN]) which will take 3-5 days to be reviewed before hearing back from LG. [AT WHAT POINT IS LIFE GOOD WITH LG because I’ve missed the GOOD LIFE EXPERIENCE!]• 5/29, receive a standard letter from an executive advisor in response to my letter to the president thanking me for my letter, telling me that my case is in review and let her know if there was any immediate needs that she could help me with…SERIOUSLY, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? IMMEDIATE NEED. HOW ABOUT A REFRIGERATOR THAT WORKS!!!The worst part is we are out hundreds of dollars in food, the returned check fee, a couple of vacation days and I still do not have a working REFRIGERATOR. At this point, I just want my money back so I can buy a refrigerator that works and will work 10 years from now. Again, our compressor didn’t even make it 24 months. So if you’re in need of a refrigerator, do not buy the hype – LIFE IS NOT GOOD WITH LG. Buy a Samsung, GE, Kenmore, or another brand. Life is not Good.

RUST at the metal lips where the detergents are poured. I noticed some rust under the plastic cover where the detergent is poured and decided to take out the four screws and check where the plastic meets the metal. IT WAS ALL RUSTED. The instruction manual does not require that the four screws be taken out for cleaning. The manual requires cleaning of the plastic area so that the dispensers work well, which we did. I reported this to LG with the pictures that I am sharing. They asked me if I use corrosive materials like bleach. Of course we do and the dispenser has a location where to apply the bleach. This unit is not heavily used (3 people), well cleaned and maintained (I am an engineer). It is no longer under warranty and LG said that it is cosmetic. I disagree because pieces of the rust are getting into our laundry as the washer vibrates. Check out the photos and decide.

LG Black Stainless Model #LFXC24726D - I have had my doors replaced twice.
LG Black Stainless Model #LFXC24726D - I have had my doors replaced twice. Last week the tech David ** here in Northern California came out to replace the freezer and one refrigerator door. When he replaced the freezer door he chipped the plastic on the freezer prying the old paint skin off. Then he scratched the new skin by the handle in the corner. It looks like the new skin that was replaced on the freezer doesnt fit this model because now all that you can see where the handles are is the white plastic. I called within 15 minutes of David leaving to complain about the chipped plastic. He came back to the house, took pictures and sent it on to customer service in Alabama to Jessica the Executive Supervisor. The following day I got an email saying they would be out on 10/18/18 between 8-12. Of course on 10/18/18 around 10:45 I get a call from Jessica the Executive Supervisor saying that they would not be fixing the chip that the tech made and that the case was closed and they would not be coming out anymore. I asked if they had reviewed my two email dated 10/21/18 on the other two issues. She said no and that I would get a call from her within 24-48 hours. Of course no call so I called on 10/22/18 and Jessica was not available so I spoke to Bill Executive Service Supervisor and told that I would have to pay for the new freezer door and service call on something that the tech David ** messed up. My only recourse is to appeal to the Office of the President (no phone number to speak to anyone in that office). At this point I will be complaining to the Bureau of Consumer Protection, Better Business Bureau and looking to see if there is a Class Action Lawsuit going on.

This refrigerator is Spacious, good brand, trusted, durable, sturdy, convenient, reliable, trendy, long lasting, good looking, easy to clean, minimal repairs needed, affordable. I would like to get one that has an ice maker and water purifier, I would buy a more updated model.

I bought an LG refrigerator 2 years ago for ~$3,000. Model LFX31945ST. This week it went out. Luckily I bought an extended warranty and called for repair. In speaking to the manufacturers technicians the ice and air circulation fans go out all the time and have to be replaced. So the technician that was ordered by my extended warranty claim came out and did not replace the fan (did not have the part) even though the error code that diagnoses the problem was clear to them. They cannot get the part a week to 10 days from now. So my food is spoiled (have a $250 food spoilage coverage) which will replace about 10-25% of the spoiled food and I will have waited 2 weeks without a refrigerator because even though they know this part is likely to go bad -no technician carries it. I will not buy another LG product but I made the mistake of buying an LG washer and dryer and I probably wont have long to wait until they go bad also.

My refrigerator stopped working last Friday. It is 2 years old. We called immediately to the call centre. They promised to cover my cost of labour with a local provider. They gave me a number to call the local provider to arrange a time. When I called the provider, they informed me that LG has to send them a work order number. So I called back LG and they said they would expedite this by the end of the day. Nothing happened. I called the provider and no luck. So I called back LG. They told me the same thing, and told me they would call, text or email me by the end of the day. In total, I have called LG 7 times, and a total of 2.5 HOURS on the phone with them. The most recent time I was on the phone 55 min until they told me it would now be 2-5 business days until someone in their service centre called the service provider to give the work order number. And apparently, this is expedited. This is not to mention yesterday, I could not even get through to customer service as their call centre was overloaded, and the recorded message just told me to call back another time. My case number is **. I have now given up, and have to pay for it myself as by the time this happens, it will be well over a week just to arrange a technician. They refuse to email me OR transfer me to the same agent. Getting a floor supervisor to speak to is close to impossible.

I had the refrigerator for approximately without any problems. Style, price and capacity were the primary reasons I chose this particular refrigerator brand. In addition, the refrigerator was an appropriate items for the decor theme in the kitchen. Accessible water and ice from the door of the refrigerator, ample storage space for items placed in the refrigerator, blending of the refrigerator with the kitchen decor, ease of cleaning the inside and exterior surfaces and the quietness in the operation of the mechanical parts represent features I liked about the refrigerator. Shortly thereafter, issues developed with the ice maker that included water dripping from the ice container into the dispensing tray that eventually caused severe damage to the wood floor. In addition, maintaining an appropriate cooling temperature fluctuated, requiring a service technician attention.

Condenser blew in the 3 years Refrigerator. 3 weeks with no fridge. Lg said it’s under warranty but after a month of calls to customer service they have yet to send a letter of authorization to the repair shop. At least 20 calls later to them and they shamelessly lie and say it has been sent to dispatch and I will get a call in 3 days from repair shop. The authorized repair shop also has called and emailed to no avail. LG is the worst and I will never buy another LG product again.

I never used LG products before and didnt know the pain of LG product. God was kind until I bought LG fridge. This fridge is making me cry within 3 years of my purchase though the warranty on its compressor is for 10 years. It has failed thrice in 3 months. Had the LG customer service been active to fix the problem properly, I would have thought of a mistake buying LG products. But LG service is worst than their products, they are there for namesake and to do nothing. It is almost a week time. Fridge compressor is down and I lodged complain, they are not bothered yet. I am calling LG customer services more than I call my relatives/friends and family (all put together). I know most of their employees by name. On top of that they refer me to their ASM, who has already resigned and moved :). I do not know whether it will be fixed or not and by when. I think only miracle can make it work or I will have to buy some other fridge.

I called customer service at LG. A woman helped me with the issue. She repeated what I told her in her own words. There were no problems understanding each other. She told me a technician would be calling me to set up an appointment. About one hour later a man from some company called me and wanted to know what the problem is. The young woman had told me she would explain to the technician. Anyway I explained it all again. He said This is the problem and started to repeat what I said EXCEPT he wasnt saying what I had the said. I tried three more times to explain the problem. He got angry (actually he wasnt happy when he called), he got me upset as I tried four times to explain the problem. I suggested we make an appointment… he said NO. I dont come out until I understand the problem. He said I will look at the manual and call you back. He did that… Lo and behold he STILL DID NOT UNDERSTAND. I then called LG back. The man (sounded like he was in India) said You have an appointment on the 8th of May. I told I knew nothing about an appointment. He said May I call the person that called you. I said Fine. Have not heard back. A few days ago my older son was at my house. He said Mom, be careful. I was turning on one of the front burners. He must have noticed the large flame. I never told either of my sons about the fact that my clothes have been singed when turning on the front burners. Just let something happen in my kitchen because of the stove and you know who will be sued big time...

My daughter used a microwave-safe bowl to melt chocolate in my LMC0975 LG microwave. Two seconds after she pressed Start, the interior wall of the oven caught on fire. She immediately shut the microwave oven off and unplugged it. She is staying at my place while I am away. I told her to call LG. She was told by a rep that because the warranty has expired, she has to pay someone to come and see if the issue is the magnetron, which has a 10-year warranty, or take the oven into a repair centre. This is not possible due to Corona, and I dont think we should have to pay to have it checked. This seems like a fire hazard, and I am surprised they had no other support available and did not seem to think their product catching fire was something of great concern. I would like LG to detail how they will take care of this issue for me.

I recently purchased a home wherein all of the appliances were, by receipt, no more than one year to 1 and 1/2 years. I felt that should bring to not have to worry about my appliances. Wrong! My LG refrigerator model LFX31925ST stainless steel 3 door refrigerator was bought by the previous owners in Nov 2016. With no extended warranty the protection in Nov 2017. I purchased the home a few months later and within just a few months both the ice maker and freezer fan stopped functioning. Of course, we are now a little time out of warranty. The expected repair cost actually exceeded the depreciated value of the refrigerator. So now I have dumped this LG fridge with no intention of ever buying a LG product. Buyer beware! New LG refrigerator is a money pit.

I will never purchase another LG product, they are inferior, and the manufacturer doesnt stand behind their product at all! We purchased a French door refrigerator and electric range 4 years ago and we have had nothing but problems. The refrigerator light malfunctioned while still under warranty and could have burnt our house down. Luckily, we were in town and I caught it just as the light cover had melted and warmed up everything in our fridge. The cabinet above the fridge was so hot, we could have cooked eggs in it. The ice maker has always had issues, and the fridge has intermittently frozen our vegetables at will. The manufacturer did replace the light fixture as this was a well-documented problem and I found hundreds of others online with the same melting problem including a few that actually did encounter a fire. The electric oven we purchased has had issues almost from the time the 1-year warranty was up. At times, weve had one or two burners that wouldnt work, and most recently, the start button on the oven doesnt work. We had this repaired a month ago, only to have the same problem the day before Christmas. In calling the repairman back, it will cost us another $400 after the $80 last month to repair this relatively new oven. We arent willing to dump another $400 into this piece of junk, as we have no confidence that it wont go out again soon. What ever happened to quality? LG stinks, and I tell everyone I know not to buy from them!

I had the identical problem to someone else on here. We bought the LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot and the little hinge on the top of the door broke off and the door was constantly staying open. We just lived with it because we had previously had a problem with a new LG washing machine and nobody in the area would service it! I was told by a serviceman that LG didnt pay them for warranty work and although I dont know if that is true or not. I do know that I couldnt find a serviceman to fix the washing machine, which we eventually disposed of, even though it was less than a year old. Anyway, we moved from that house and happily left the beautiful LG refrigerator with the broken door hinge and lo and behold, the new house that we bought, had the same refrigerator and shortly after moving, the hinge on one door broke on that one too. LG definitely seems to have a quality problem with their appliances and I wouldnt buy one again.

I did not look up reviews before I purchased this refrigerator, I wish I did! On the upscale price of closer to the $3000 mark, I feel I got a lemon. I loved the look, style, features, and all the different slide out drawers and compartments. I was sold! This is everything I could want in a refrigerator. Then came the disappointment... In the first year, it was getting ice build up on the inside of the refrigerator. Repair said it some kind of software problem, wasnt programmed correctly or something. It is the second year I have it, it will be in November 2016 two years old. Not working again, repair tech says this time the compressor is SHOT!!! REALLY that is the heart of the unit, in two years. So it is under warranty for the part but not the labor. So it will cost $450 to fix. On Tuesday they were supposed to expedite the part. Its Saturday and Im still waiting. I thought expedite meant send it NOW! I wrote a few emails to LG, they responded, Were sorry for your troubles and inconvenience. We have sent your concerns to complaint dept. Blah blah blah. Wont ever buy another LG product.

I have had my LG fridge freezer for 8 years. A few weeks ago it burst into flames setting my kitchen on fire. I contacted LG who took all my details and a few days later they phoned to say that because of its age there was nothing they were going to do. They did not want to send somebody to check why it set on fire the reason being that they only had a responsibility for the fridge until it is six years old. They said that was a standard across all manufacturers. So if you buy an LG fridge please be aware that they only guarantee their products to be safe for six years. After that they have a buyer beware policy.

Purchased a brand new microwave with the new black chrome, very expensive for a microwave. Unfortunately we had a kitchen remodel so we wanted everything to be brand new. We called the store and they said that they had to call LG because their store warranty was only 7 days (ridiculous). LG said they would replace the part if it has no power. However when the service technician told LG that it had no power, they decided to repair it??? We havent even had the microwave a month. The new parts cost almost more than the microwave itself. I think this company is a piece of **. I will never purchase LG products again.

For the second time in 6 months, a drawstring from two different pairs of shorts was trapped in the door hinge while the dryer was running causing several pieces of clothing to get caught on the string and twist into a tight knot. Both times I found the dryer stopped and the door open. OK. But try to get the drawstring out of the hinge! I worked for 15 minutes both times. LG NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. There is nothing in their literature that says you may not put items with drawstrings in the dryer. I had a beautiful 1993 Maytag for 27 years and this NEVER happened.

Purchased LDF6920ST from Pacific Sales in 2011. Major leak and since dishwasher was moving from under cabinet, we called the installation company. The guys came out and replaced the water hose, and reinstalled the dishwasher. They turned the dishwasher back on and the water continued to leak from the bottom. Since they are installers, they checked the best they could for additional hose leaks but could find none. They recommended we get a new dishwasher! Shouldnt a $639 dishwasher last more than 4 years?! Im not happy.

I purchased a $3000 LG fridge in April 2013 (less than 8 months ago). About a month ago, it started making a loud noise. I contacted Home Depot (where fridge was purchased) and they scheduled a tech to come look at it. He fixed it by defrosting a fan and setting the temp on my fridge higher. He warned to not have the fridge set too cold or the fan would keep freezing. Great, warm food. Less than a week later it broke down completely. We are now more than two weeks without a fridge. I have called every single day to try to get a tech out here and LG not only refuses to send someone out but cancels the techs scheduled by Home Depot. They have no time frame as to when they will allow someone to come out or when the fridge will be repaired. My five month old son has digestive issues and is on a special formula that has to be refrigerated. When I called LG to schedule repairs Bonnie from public relations told me I could ask my neighbor to store my son’s formula for me. Because I paid $3000 to use my neighbor’s fridge not to use my own fridge. The level of heartlessness LG and all their customer service reps show is beyond shameful and frankly Im shocked theyre still in business. Life is not good when Ive been storing my son’s formula in an ice chest for two weeks, feeding my other kids fast food every meal because we cant store any cold or frozen food at home, and LG has the attitude of we already have your money so now you can go F yourself. I will never ever buy an LG product again. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. No response yet from LG. Let me pretend to be surprised. At this point the fridge now stinks, is completely useless, and LG has no plans to repair or replace my fridge. Its under warranty and I had purchased the extra protection plan. Its completely unacceptable to allow a family to go without any fridge at all for two weeks and counting. Its unacceptable to know a special needs child could go hungry without his formula and NOT even send a tech out to look at it. Looks like I spent $3000 on a useless piece of crap.

Purchased LG French Door M/N LMXS30776S/03 during Best Buy Labor Day sale September 2016. Purchased Geek Squad coverage, because, hey $4k fridge, that would suck. Immediately noticed $5/month drop in electric bill. Great start! March 2017 I start hearing noises that werent there for the 1st 6 months. Call up Geek Squad, they send someone out immediately. They diagnose problem as compressor, which they are not allowed to touch. Call up LG. It takes me 5 calls over 2 weeks to get a technician to come out. April 2017 tech diagnoses that the noise is within normal range, no fix available. Early August my daughter starts complaining about warm cheese in her sandwiches. No one else complains in the house. Late August I learn that I had sent my daughter to school with spoiled milk (I informed her before she drank it). Thought maybe it might have been older milk, but I was pretty sure it was fresh. 2nd Monday Sept. I touch a Gatorade that had been frozen and moved to fridge door and it is warm to touch. I take an instant read thermometer and plunge it into various food and drink and measure temperatures of 57, 57, and 51 (drawer) deg. F. Call LG. Am told it will be 3-5 days before I am recontacted by an LG tech. Sept 12. Call Geek Squad and the next day I have someone out who diagnoses that the compressor is not working. Buy ice cream because I thought the freezer was working as it frozen some leftovers on Monday. Alas, the ice cream is pretty much just below melting point. Sept. 13, 2017: Waiting to hear back from both LG and Geek Squad to see what path to take. Geek Squad has been incredibly responsive. LG, not so much.

My LG refrigerator was purchased in 2015 and stopped cooling in the end of May. I have a home warranty service. Hence, I called them to come check out. They evaluated the unit and concluded it was a very common cooling issue with LG refrigerators. They ordered the parts from LG as the refrigerator is still under warranty. It’s been almost one months since the parts were ordered. Yet we still haven’t heard back from LG the estimated arrival time of parts. The LG’s response was the parts were out of stock. It’s been extremely frustrating experience with LG. If there is an option not to give any star, LG deserves 0!!!!

lmx28988st Refrigerator w/ French Door and two drawer freezer. Two significant issues with major functions!1. Loss use of Freezer! Freezer drawer design is low quality and not durable. Details: Plastic cogs on the drawer track are frail and shear teeth easy. The stack up of the cogs on the rails have excessive tolerance. This combination causes the drawer to easily hop off track and excessive ice build up on door seal and door will not shut. Corrective action: Align better quality cogs with the rails to prevent future door alignment issues. Home band aid: Unplug, defrost freezer, take door off to assist in realignment.2. Loss use of Ice Bin! Ice bin feed components poor assembly quality. Details: The claw components that feed and crush ice have a set screw that will come loose due to low torque and ineffective thread lock substance. This causes the assembly to simply fall apart and render the ice bin useless until repair. Corrective action: Identify the optimal torque and thread lock substance to prevent screw from backing out. Another option would be to capture the assembly so that the screw can not back out from the crusher assembly. Home band aid: If you are able to find all parts, youtube has a few videos that can help with reassembly. Clean the threads of the screw and apply Blue Loctite to prevent from falling out again.

We just got this machine in last Friday. After doing a few loads over the weekend, I was wondering if there was something wrong. The black control panel is very hard to read! It has gray lettering on a black background. I called LG to see if there was a backlight that wasnt working, and was told that there is no backlight. Seems to me that LG has mad a very basic design error with the panel. It should have white lettering, as do most other machines with this type of panel. I actually made myself a vinyl overlay with white lettering to make it more usable for myself. Something that LG needs to address ASAP!

I purchased an the 22 Cu. Ft. French Door Counter Depth Refrigerator. Delivery was delayed 17 days. I moved to a new state where I know no one! 17 days of eating out during Covid times was challenging and expensive. I asked LG for an inconvenience fee and was offered $25! I said no. Then I was offered $50, then $75. I refused all offers. I was spending $30-$50 a day in eating out which cost me over $800! I asked to speak to a manager, who after one week of waiting, never called. I spent countless hours waiting on hold with LG customer service. The last attempt today I spoke with Tim who actually argued with me. He insisted that LG will not give more than $75. I work in customer service and call centers so I know what they are allowed to offer and say. Tim was more than rude and had zero understanding nor care of my situation. He continually cut me off when I was speaking! Who does he think he is?I love my fridge, but the customer service at LG needs a full revamp! I hope the call was recorded because Tim should be fired for how he spoke to me. Apparently a manager is supposed to contact me.... This is the 2nd time Ive heard that. Well see. LG has not heard the last of me. Im now even more angry with how I have been treated. After 17 days with no fridge and now 2 weeks of waiting on hold with LG....unbelievable!

Refrigerator model LMX 28988ST - The manual for the appliance states that all sealed components are covered by a 7 year warranty for parts. Our freezer failed and on calling LG, we were required to pay $195 under their One Price program for all parts & labour associated with the service call. The technician deemed that the part was not repairable and that the entire appliance has to be replaced. LG now claims that the paperwork side of this takes 10 business days to resolve and we will only get a Prorated value of the appliance. To me, its simple - a part covered by warranty must be repaired, replaced, or the consumer otherwise kept whole. One thing is certain - I may be forced into a replacement LG unit, but is the last LG product of any kind I will ever buy.

They are currently under a class action lawsuit for front load washers with this same issue for those that were purchased between 2000-2006 but since mine was purchased 2012 it doesnt apply. I purchased the LG washing machine WT1101C - top loading, glass top - in July 2013. I am very disappointed with this product. I have yet to wash a load that does not become unbalanced, and I have tried several different combinations of laundry items. The machine WILL rebalance the load - but it does this by jiggling and REfilling with water and spinning again. That process can be repeated as many times as necessary unless I intervene and redistribute the clothes myself. One day I left it alone to see what would happen and it washed for 2 hours! Energy Efficient?? No way - it uses too much water and takes too long even on the supposedly shortest cycles. Im going to donate it and get a brand I have had before and that has an agitator. The dryer works fine.

Updated on 07/06/2020: This is my second review about this situation because I am locked out of responding privately to the company representative because they never responded to my last question. I have been trying since June 10 to get LG to honor the warranty on our refrigerator which stopped working on that day. First, I tried to get a letter in email for my repair person allowing him to order the parts which are still under warranty. When the letter finally came two weeks later, it had the wrong address. At that time, the representative who contacted me after my first review had already said they would rather offer an amount than deal with repairs. Still, I gave him the correct address and waited. Neither the correct letter nor an offer had come a week later, so I called the warranty department as he recommended. The lady there did make an agreeable offer and said the process would begin when we got an email about the offer. She said the email should come soon and that all steps had to be completed before we would get the payment to replace our refrigerator.A week later, we have received no email so Im assuming the 5-6 week process she mentioned will not start until we get that email and who knows when we will get it. I have just spent 1:22:00 hours on hold this morning waiting to speak to someone about this. Bottom line: Do not buy an LG refrigerator if you dont want to live out of an ice chest for more than a month waiting on them to honor a warranty.Original Review: After five calls to LG where customer service representatives have told me repeatedly that an email authorization will be sent within an hour, by 5pm, in 24 hours, it has been a week and still no authorization letter has been emailed to my repair service.

The control knobs can be slightly bumped and the gas is turned on! This has happened several times in with our LG range. We have to reach above to get to our above the range LG microwave and bump the control knobs. Usually we notice the smell of gas pretty quick however one night my husband cleaned the kitchen and went to bed. I came home later that night, after a long day of work/travel, to find my house filled with gas! My husband and daughter were both upstairs asleep but THANK GOD they were okay. I bought an LG washing machine model WFT6500 at Courts (Mauritius) Ltd. in November 2009. Serial No. is 908.JWWZ00529. Never once washed clean and so wearily I almost never made use of it during the warranty period, thinking that it must be a machine with very low power and it is normal to wash dirty. However, after the warranty period, I contacted the seller who wanted to send someone to check but for a fee. I refused because they did not think it was a technical problem. And so I blamed myself and nursed my woes stupidly until last month when I realized that the problem comes from the rinse cycle which is not functioning properly. It only spins the clothes but does not throw the water away nor does it do another rinse. The rinse cycle lasts only a few minutes with no additional water coming in or going out until the spin cycle that finally for the first time during the wash and rinse cycle drains the water away, leaving residues of dust in the clothes.I contacted the dealer once more, insisted that it is a defect that has been there since the first wash but they want to repair for a fee. I find this unfair because the machine has never been up to expectations and in spite of being in my possession for four years, I must have used it a dozen times only and not at all for two years at a stretch during that period because of being away from home. I guess it could be a defective machine that has been sold to our Mauritian distributor with or without their knowledge.

If only I had checked for reviews prior to my purchase. I moved to Georgia from California a little over a year ago and was so excited about getting a new washer/dryer. I went to Home Depot (its a small town, so the store selection is limited) and found what I thought was a really nice washer/dryer combo from LG. I couldnt have been more disappointed. The washer takes FOREVER - mostly because it continually rebalances the load - all to no avail. After multiple attempts the washer gives up and chimes to tell me to come and rebalance it. Now - Ive had washers before (all with agitators, which this one doesnt have) and one - sometimes two - rebalances corrects the problem... NOT with the LG - sometimes I have to rebalance 6 or 8 times in order for the load to complete the cycle. Then I have to repeat the process with the next spin. It doesnt just happen with odd weight loads or odd sized - its nearly everything. I HATE THIS WASHER. DONT BUY ONE!!!

I have an LG dishwasher, stove, refrig and microwave in my kitchen. The stove, I love... The frig, I like. The microwave really works well. The only thing I would like to have that it dont is a quick min button. My other unit that was the button that we used 9 times out of 10. The dishwasher on the other hand, I have hate for. First of all, it never gets my dishes clean. It takes 2 hours to run and it doesnt get any of the dishes clean in that time. (JUST AN FYI... THE ENERGY SAVERS IS NOT ENERGY SAVING FOR THE CONSUMER... MIGHT WANNA DO A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THAT ONE) BUT ANYWAY...The LG dishwasher dont even rinse the dish soap off its own door. It is by far the worst dishwasher that I have ever had and I really dont have time to do dishes, thats why I have a dishwasher. My LG dishwasher has a lovely chime and thats all its good for. I have stuck a slice of cardboard in there with my dishes to see if it would even get wet... It had a few spots on it and it was a little damp from the high humidity during the disinfecting cycle (that by the way is so hot that I have had a couple of ceramic cups crack in half from the extreme heat). Second... be careful if you have one of these LG dishwashers because I opened it and let the door fall to its resting place so I could load it and the handle landed on the top of my foot and I had a large hematoma that turned black and blue covering the entire top of my foot for weeks from having it land on my foot. I thought it was broke to be honest. The thing is Im grown and life is hard enough to deal with manufacturers taking advantage of consumers by selling them products that dont work at all. Surely they did test on these and knew that they were unable to clean dishes. The thing is I use to love LG. Ive had several of their flat screens and of course I did my entire kitchen in LG... But for them to know that they made a shoddy product and not do right by the people that supported them by replacing the metal chimney boxes they sold us instead of dishwashers makes me sad... Ive spent months of my hard earned income on their products and to be swindled like this by them makes me so sad that even though I love their other products, I wont be supporting their company brand any longer. Its a warning... If you want clean dishes, do your kitchen with another brand!

Recently, Dec 2, 2017 the machine shows an error code and in the tub of the washer the balancer has parted and is no longer connected/attached to the machine. I called LG and Home Depot at least 15 times each just to get someone out here to take a look at the issue but I keep getting the run around. Its now January 3, 2018, I still havent received a phone call nor have I seen a technician. It sucks because Ive purchased a 5yr. Extended warranty with Home Depot and its like money thrown down the drain. The machine is garbage. It takes hours just to wash 1 load. It was making a loud sound from the beginning that I had to report. I would never buy a product of LG again.

LG French Door Refrigerator Freezer LFX33975ST - Purchased 8/13. Freezer fan motor replaced twice. Just went out for a third time. Besides that it never can make enough ice. After complaining and seeing service techs I was told the problem was resolved in a newer model, but there was nothing they could do for me. So after paying over $3K for the unit in over a years time we are on our 5th service call. I would NEVER buy another LG product!

Could not find a switch to turn it off on the refrigerator. Could not believe my eyes. Thankful I was not on vacation. I do not want it repaired, I want it gone. $3,200 lesson to never purchase LG. Piece of crap top loading washer Model WT1701CW does not work! This washer, I was told by the salesman at Conns, with which I am no longer doing business, was programmed by a woman. It ought to make her and her environmentalist friends happy, because it saves water. But if you want your clothes washed, youre out of luck, because they will not be submerged below the water level of only a few inches! LG is no help at all, refusing to do anything. No software upgrade, no repair, no reprogramming, NOTHING! Wash day at my house involves using a BUCKET to fill the machine to a level adequate to wash, then repeating the bucket brigade for rinsing, EVERY LOAD, EVERY TIME! Do not buy LG products. I also have an expensive Plasma TV that failed after only 12 years. What a rip off!

Purchased LG fridge LFC22770 in 6-2014. Two months ago food began to defrost in freezer. Called their service. The touted built-in diagnostic signal did not transmit a code. Was given phone number, after a 45 min. wait, to a TV repair business. What a joke. This morning we smelled burning electrical odor. My husband removed back cover and sparks were shooting out and wires had already melted. Imagine if we had gone to work or been on vacation?! Total hazard. Could have easily ignited cabinets next to and above unit. What if this had happened while we were asleep! The nightmare of the repair or replacement still awaits us as this is Saturday.

Let’s see. So my French door fridge (model # LFC25770SB) is only 2 years old. Weve had it since May 2010. It was bought brand new from Home Depot for our new home. It has worked fine until 11/14/2012. I came home from work and the entire bottom cavity (freezer) was thawed out and everything completely ruined (my Thanksgiving meal, since we went shopping a few days prior)! The freezer isn’t keeping anything cold, so therefore neither is the fridge! The fridge was 47 degrees when I got home! I called LG on their emergency line the night it happened and was told that the food that I lost would be covered in part. Not the case! They refused to cover anything. I have to wait up to 3 weeks for a new part, which I have to pay out of pocket for, and the labor that is included in fixing this part! Needless to say, a 2-year-old fridge was obviously a piece of **! I lost over $500 in groceries, not to mention the insulin that I had in the fridge because I’m a diabetic! LG lost this customer! And I doubt they will care to do anything! All they say is they are sorry! Must not really be sorry, because I should have gotten a reimbursement for some of the product lost because of their ** appliance that broke after, seriously, only 2 years! Do something LG!

I spent two ** days trying to find out what the codes from my LG LMX28988st refrigerator were trying to say. This fridge I bought From Sears for $2500 3 years ago stopped being cold. I called LG & Sears tech support asking for a service manual, both were less than helpful. I finally found a service manual on a blog link, it was so easy to find out the blinking code said the circuit board and the compressor needed replaced on my 3 year old fridge. (My parents fridge is over 20 yrs old still works.) So I guess dont buy LG or from Sears. I’m ** I wasted all that time talking to useless customer service and getting ** by them without any help.

I am incredibly angry with LG products as well as their customer service. We bought an LG steam dishwasher from Best Buy and paid for install. After around 2 decent years, we received an error message. Contacted LG immediately HOPING they would send someone out as we NEVER called prior at least to look at it. They hire local subcontractors so I was charged a $75 fee just to take a peek. I was told the dishwasher wasn’t level and the drain line needed a bigger loop to drain properly. Thank you and on his way. The dishwasher performed for about 5 cycles and three weeks later before last evening rinse cycle that flooded my brand new kitchen and theres water all under the floors. Ill call again but I am not sure I am going to get anywhere. TERRIBLE product. Terrible service. A big fat F from me. Now I have to hire Servpro to come out and dry the floors... rip out my brand new flooring... I am out of pocket for way more than the dishwasher cost. They should have a class action suit against them. I am sure we all suffered more than just the cost of the dishwasher!

Bad product. They try to keep repairing to our detriment. 5th issue with fridge in 5 months all recorded thrugh LG Service. Started May 2019, not cooling. Called LG. Arranged repair (took 4 weeks, try keeping family of 6 with no fridge for a month!). Replace coolant, tested. 3 days later - same issue. Call LG. Arrange for repair (another 3-4 weeks). Apparently wanted leak tested properly and lost coolant. They needed to order repair part to rebuild the coolant system in my kitchen (another 4-6 weeks for parts). Repaired. Next day display on front showed error, turned out repairman forgot to plug a cable in. Few months later, not cooling....want to send another repair (different company than first 4 times!!). Matthew in Executive Service (very poorly trained at customer service)! I just want to get rid of this headache and am being told I need a receipt (from 5 years ago??) to initiate the refund. They only cover 1 year of parts and labor and 10 years on compressor itself, what a surprise... Its like they know it would break after a year... Good thing I have an extended warranty with Home Depot which covers parts and labor an extra 3 years. If it breaks again in 2 years Im just going to trash it... My fridge broke down September 27, 2018 and I have been calling LG customer service about every 3 days and keep getting a complete runaround. They bounced me from service provider to service provider promising they would cover the parts and labor. None of their providers in our area were willing to come. Im only one hour from New York City!!! Since they failed to provide a service provider I found my own and after about 20 hours on the phone with LG over several weeks got them to agree to cover the parts and labor for the provider I found. They promised a letter of authorization on 3 different occasions to start the work and it never was sent. I finally lost it on the customer service rep and they said they would consider replacement since I waited so long... only to be informed on my next call that this request was denied. Ive spent at least 30 hours on the phone with their customer support and it is November 27, two months later and absolutely no progress in two months. Im lost and extremely disappointed. Im a pretty patient person and hardly ever write reviews like this but the service I have seen is awful!!! I will never buy an LG again and will warn everyone I know to never buy LG.

I bought a top loading washing machine (no agitator in November 2013). The first week I washed a pillow and it shredded it and any towels to pieces. I called Home Depot and they said I had to deal with LG. A repair person came out and determined that the plastic rim around tub needed to be replaced. I wanted LG to replace my washer and they said NO. They told me that I had to have repair people out 3 times for same issue before they would consider replacing it. The plastic rim got replaced and the washer continued to shred clothes. The next repair person came out and found sharp edges in bottom of tub that have been ripping clothes. He then contacts LG and they say that this not covered under warranty. The repair will cost $800 (which is more than I paid for the washer!). The repair guy told me to only wash clothes on Bulky bedding setting so that clothes will less likely shred because it uses the most water. The following month I had a loss in the family and gave up trying to deal with LG. So for the past 4 years I have been using this washer only on Bulky bedding setting and throwing out a piece of shredded clothing about every other wash. The washer never cleans well, my whites are always dull and makeup never washes out of washcloths. The top latch also broke and I have to hold the lid down for a while before it will start. For past two weeks I have been getting a an error message that my brother who works on washing machines could not fix. It will not drain/spin. My brother took the back of the washer off to see if he could help and there was tons of pillow stuffing and shredded clothing pieces from the very first week of having this machine! LG says all repairs are up to me and there is nothing they can do. I will NEVER buy anything LG again!

After two years, our LG dishwasher stopped pumping out the water after washing. Upon calling LG customer service, after having to pre-pay an expensive repair bill, they sent a technician to our home to repair the machine. We are now on our fifth visit and the machine is still not repaired. The repair person just took the new parts, put them in the machine, slid the machine back into the cabinet and left, never to return to complete the job.The machines quality is poor, parts difficult to get, and service totally incompetent. Avoid this companys products at all costs. They are over priced, do not last, and are difficult to get repaired. We also own an LG refrigerator and after one year, the ice maker/water dispenser system totally failed. We are talking about a two thousand five hundred dollar refrigerator. Again, avoid LG appliances, they are junk! Their repair service is just as bad, if not worse.

I purchased a LG microwave in August 2018. The microwave alone was over $300 and was purchased alongside a refrigerator, and stove (all LG smart appliances). The microwave was used a max of 10 times over the span of two years as I am in the military and spend my time on the base. I was shocked that a microwave used this few times could suddenly stop heating. So I called LG support line. I spoke to a rep named Risaldo, he informed me the magnetron was the issue and is under warranty for 10years. He walked us through the process to file a claim (which we filed immediately with all documentation) and informed me someone would get back to us in 3-5 days regarding scheduling the appointment.A few days later we receive an email stating the microwave is past the manufacturer warranty and they are unable to send a tech to fix the microwave. I called back and spoke to a supervisor who stated that they are unable to help us at this point even though the microwave has been used such few times and despite the item in question (the magnetron) being under warranty. Apart from the microwave alone being a terrible product, the customer service I received spoke very poorly of the brand and company. As someone who decided to spend extra money to purchase these LG products, and given the deplorable customer service I have received from LG, it is safe to say I will no longer be purchasing products from them. I have purchased and worked with customer service with Samsung and GE and have never run into this issue. My fiancé and I have extremely busy schedules and do not have the time to continuously call customer service to resolve a relatively simple issue. I would suggest reading reviews very carefully before investing into their products.

Our refrigerator starting beeping every 30 seconds. We checked all the troubleshooting suggestions from leveling, moving around the food, buying thermostats, to making sure the doors were closed. We figured out the beeping was the freezer section. We called LG who immediately said the sensor was bad and that the part was covered but the labor will not be. It seems that this is a known problem. Im just wondering why, if its a known defect... why isnt it covered. I havent had the refrigerator for 7 years yet so it should be covered. Right?!?! We corrected the problem by taping down the switch that turns on the light in the freezer section. Last night, 4:32 am, the other section started beeping. It beeps for every 30 seconds for about 20 minutes and then stops for a few hours. Id rather not be able to see in my refrigerator than spend hundreds for repair. The temps are fine. We were building a new house and were looking for appliance packages. We really liked the appliance package and LG refrigerator because it had this cute little window in the door. It was a good price as well, and we liked the refrigerators features. The little window in the door is my favorite. The refrigerator has French doors and I can open just that part, like a little window door, of the top door and keep stuff in there. We had some issues, though, with the water dispenser on the front of it. The repairman called it a continuous water feature. It wouldn’t shut off when you press your water on it. It kept going on with water or ice until you locked it. So we had to have it repaired probably within the first month we had the refrigerator. But since then, it has worked fine. I’m pretty happy with my LG refrigerator.

My wife opened the d/w last evening to load dishes; a loud bang sounded, and she almost dropped the door. I pulled the d/w out today and found that the door assembly consists of a heavy-duty spring attached to a piece of Venetian blind cord which rides on a small plastic pulley. The cord had snapped (see photo). The next hour was spent arguing with a customer service representative and a supervisor because I refused to pay for a repairman to tell me what part I needed and charge me for the installation. I was finally given a phone number of a parts company from which I could order the cord portion of the assembly. Replaced 1 1/2 year old compressor - I have been venting my frustration about our LG, 1 1/2 year, old side by side refrigerator (Model #LSXS262386S). We purchased this refrigerator at Lowes in June, 2015 for $1,622.60. I thought I did my research on buying this new appliance. Early January, 2017 I knew something was wrong with the freezer, so I transferred the freezer compartment contents to our 30-year old Kenmore freezer in the garage. We called support and did a smart diagnosis and talked to someone and were told that it seems that the freezer door has just been opened and closed too many times. I moved the freezer contents from the 30-year old freezer back into the 1 1/2 year old LG. A week later, the freezer completely stopped freezing. We called support again. We did get repair here that day. (I was afraid to ask why.) The repairman commented that he didnt like to work on LG refrigerators. The compressor needed to be ordered. 6 days later, the compressor was installed (25 minutes). We were charged $540.00 for labor. I guess, in this world, if we get a good appliance, we should consider ourselves lucky. If you get a bad one, good luck with the results. Its just a shame.

I liked my LG refrigerator when I bought it about three years ago, but its compressor went out, and I wasnt very happy with it a few weeks ago. I love the refrigerator, the way it operates as well as the shelving, and its easy to take care of. But then I noticed my freezer things were getting a little mushy soft in the freezer. A few days later, my son came over and we went through the directions on how to restart it. You pull the plug and let it rest, which we did, and we adjusted some other things. But when I got up the next morning, my whole kitchen floor was full of water. So, he said the compressor went out on it. LG then came out here and put a new compressor in. They also sent me a check for the food that I lost, which I did lose a lot. I appreciate that I didnt have to put any money out, but it was very frustrating. Well, it seems that every time I turn around now something goes wrong with my machine (LG washer). At first, I thought it was the best investment ever. After the warranty expired, it seemed that the rubber that goes in front of the machine that seals the door closed has a slit on it. New part would be around $100.00 plus labor. It seems that we need to have someone out here all the time. We just had it repaired because the computer needed to be reset. We have had it serviced 4 times. Really, why are they so expensive if they are going to need all these repairs after 4 or 5 years of purchase?

We called LG and they sent a service technician after 2 days, he did the repair and the refrigerator stopped cooling again after 3 days. Now the horror story starts. I called LG and they said that a service agent will call me back to schedule an appointment and it never happened. I called continuously for 4 days and each time its a 45 minutes wait but they just treat customers like garbage. I will never ever buy or endorse LG product in my life. LG does not value its customers, I felt humiliated and I am writing this review with a lot of pain.

Dishwasher was within one year warranty period. Called for service. Was told someone would call back. Never did. I called back, was told service technician would schedule a day. Never called. I called back. No service in my town and would have to have a review of my issue. Told to call local repair person and they would cover it. I did. They would not ship the part to him and when I called they said hey never authorized it. Said they escalated my repair to another department and would call back. I had to call them back, this was over 4 months. Final call from them was to call Sears and have them cover it under the extended warranty that I purchased as the machine was now over the one year coverage period even though I called well before the year was up.

I have had this LG Direct drive top load washing machine for approximately 3 years. My laundry has never smelled bad but since we bought this washing machine I hate to do laundry. It NEVER smells good (always smells bad). I have done all the recommended precautions. I always use HE detergent. I leave the door open between loads, tub clean, bleach etc. Nothing works! I HATE HATE HATE this washing machine. If anyone reads this dont buy it. I used to trust LG but I think they should stick to t.v.s!!! Please make them give us our money back!

Wife wanted new appliances so we went to Hopeless Depot and bought LG. What a mistake. Bought a french door refrigerator. Within 2 months the ice maker went out. LG came out and installed a new ice maker and all seemed fine until the other day it went out again. Now everything is out of warranty and the ice maker went out again. I called LG and they gave me the number to 3 repair companies and they all told me the same thing. 90 days on the ice maker, no warranty. Fridge is a year and 2 months old. I have the old KitchenAid refrigerator in the garage that works like a champ. 25 years old. So to add insult to injury the turntable motor on the microwave is going out. It is the same age. 14 months old. I wont even bother calling them - Ill just let everything fail. Do not buy LG - they suck. Their stuff does not last. Get KitchenAid.

We purchased our LG side by side refrigerator in September 2007. We have experienced problems with the ice maker which finally had to be replaced. Problems with the compressor and the controls on the front panel will freeze up and the only way to reset them is to pull the refrigerator out and unplug it. Sometimes this works sometimes it doesnt. It has always been loud but now it is unbearably loud. Visitors ask us What is making so much noise in your house? and we make sure they know it is our lousy LG refrigerator. Bottom line - DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON LG.

Failed compressor on a 4 year old Kenmore Elite French door refrigerator. It was manufactured by LG and sold by Sears Canada. Of course I purchased the extended warranty which is now null and void after having been underwritten by now defunct Sears Canada. LG Canada basically told me to go ** myself. I am Horrified that I spent 4000$ on an LG refrigerator and LG won’t step up to make this right given the known issue of compressor failure. The repair bill is estimated to be 1000$, which I cannot afford. I’ve had to purchase an inexpensive used fridge and move a basically lightly used top of the line refrigerator to storage in hopes that LG may step up and do what is right. It is untenable that consumers are being exploited in this way and treated with such a lack of care or concern. I am thoroughly disappointed and will be pursuing every avenue to see my money returned. So far, LG has proven they are driven by profit - they are knowingly selling defective appliances to consumers. I recommend that folks avoid LG manufactured products and spend their money on appliances that are manufactured by reputable companies that will stand behind their product. Compressors should last 10-20 years. 4 years??! They are defective and LG needs to own their mistakes.

WM2050CW - We purchased this machine in 2010 and it seemed the answer to all our prayers. It worked great, cleaned well and the clothes were almost dry when they were done - very little time in the dryer to get them done. The machine wasnt cheap but it would save energy and use less water and of course cut down on dryer time. Then this year problems arose and it was out of warranty. No problem, I thought, just call a repairman and all will be good. WRONG. Found out most will not work on the Korean made LGs. The parts are hard to get and expensive and the service from LG itself is horrible. This coming from the tech that we finally found to come out and work on it. Great we thought, get it fixed and back to washing. WRONG again. Pump was shot and the supports on the center drum were beginning to go. Okay how much to fix? We asked. $400 for the pump which could take up to two weeks to even get and up to a $1000 to replace the supports. OUCH!!!! Needless to say repairs were not done. Called several repair businesses to get a recommendation for a replacement. All came up with the same answer...... DONT buy another front loader. Reason: not built to last, parts are expensive, and some brands like LG nobody will work on. So we went back to the good old top loader and it is a Speed Queen and it has a 3 year warranty and according to all the repair people we talked to it is one of the most dependable out there. The best part it is made here in the good ole USA..... If you think front loaders are great look them up on youtube and see what happens when the supports go............ SCARY.
