LG True Balance - We had the washer for only 8 mos. It stopped agitating. We reported the issue to the 800 number on the machine. They sent a tech the next day. Finally at 7:00 pm they arrived. First the problem. 15 mins after he left the whole bottom unit came off. Called them again. The next day they sent the same tech, this time he said the part is bad and will need a week to order a new part. We thought we were getting a top of the line washer. Further, he doesn’t balance correctly... as it is suppose to auto balance. First time buying LG. Very disappointed with the product and the service. To have it break in 8 mos. To go without a washer for two weeks with a family is unacceptable!

I bought this very top of the line energy efficient LG washer and dryer for over $2,500. I wanted to be environmentally considerate. But now I have to wash my cloth 2 or 3 times to get them clean. The washer does not allow enough water to the cloth to get them even fully wet. The sports clothes of my teenager still smells bad after 2 wash. When I called the company they send out a technician that did literally nothing but read the error codes to someone over the phone and then told me that the machines are not meant to give water to get the cloth soaked and hence my cloth cannot get clean! If it bothers me that much I should consider buying a top loader that will allow enough water to get into machine to actually wash my cloth. I dont even want to start talking about the washer bouncing around and not getting balanced. I had someone 3 times here to try to balance the machine so it does not make all this noise but then was told that my floor is not leveled and this is the best they can do. This is the worst machine ever and I feel I was ripped off! NEVER again a LG in my house!

I purchased an LG stove, refrigerator and dishwasher four years ago. I live alone and am very careful with my belongings. The stove has paint chips every place the cast iron burner sits on the stove. It looks ugly. The shelves in the refrigerator have broken rails. Really, these appliances are only four years old. I have a second refrigerator in the garage thats twenty years old and still in great condition. I paid too much money to have these items look like theyve been through the war!

I am very upset and very frustrated! I bought a full suite of LG kitchen appliances just over 2 years ago from HHGregg and invested in a 5 year (HHGregg premium) warranty to cover all of the appliances. In just 2 short years I am having trouble with all of my appliances and am currently waiting on a service call from HHGregg (whom I will never buy appliances from ever again). Found out today that the HHGregg warranty is not as good as the paper on which it is written! One complaint is the LG microwave oven. It stopped working (the plate will no longer rotate and will not heat up). Apparently, there is a default in the design of the LG microwave ovens that fit over the stove. The heat from the stove causes the microwave system to stop working. LG and HHGregg should replace my malfunctioned microwave oven with one without this flaw! No LG told me to contact HHGregg! HHGregg offered me only a 200.00 store credit! This cost does not replace my microwave! I feel robbed by LG and by HHGregg! Shame on both these companies!!!

This is regarding open ticket which has been going on since December. Dryer is still under warranty, it was purchased in August. It does not dry correctly, get flow sense and D80 error message. Per LG request, we serviced our exhaust system and checked all the ventilation and house flaps, duck ductwork etc. Twice. Proof can be provided. All is fine on the house side. Error messages happens even with dryer is not connected to the house, which rules out the house. Its a new construction as well. Triangle Appliances has been working on the dryer since then and replaced everything LG has asked them to. Still not working. As of yesterday, Triangle Appliances deemed it unrepairable per their expertise and written proof of that will be provided. LG refuses to replace it and says there is nothing else they can/want to do regarding repairs. LG is under warranty obligation and refusing service. Please forward this to the right department, for resolution or we will be taking legal action. Also, let me add that the only LG technician available in the area (Durham, NC) was incompetent, not professional, rude to my wife and showed up without parts (he did check they were on back order) and blamed us for it. This is why we ended up working with Triangle Appliances, LG approved, and they have been great.

LG 5070CW washer - wash cycle temps are way low compared to info LG provided - Cold is suppose to be 66 degrees, ours runs 50 - Hot is suppose to be 120 degrees, ours runs 75. Called LG and they said it was because it was a top fill washer, and that I needed to use some of the specialized cycles to get hotter temps - basically makes half of the cycle choices not usable. The manual doesnt mention anything about this issue. LG supervisor said they are looking into some typos in the manual to help with this issue. I spent $800+ on this washer and feel that we were duped. LG doesnt seem to care at all about the errors in their manual.

I have owned my LG French door refrigerator for 18 months and have had two problems with the icemaker. The first problem happened during the warranty and was covered. The ice bin plastic broke off and plastic bits were dispensed with ice. The second problem is that the icemaker is completely broken and needs to be replaced. I used the live chat on the web site and they walked me through a number of steps, but in the end, it needs to be replaced. Its over $300 after owning it for 18 months. I am not happy. My last refrigerator lasted 20 years with not one repair.

The top-loading washer is less than 2 years old. 2 senior citizens have been using it minimally. The supposed motherboard has crashed. The technician says it ends in the numbers 501 and should be 701, so it needs an upgrade. Called LG and they said so sad, I didnt purchase an extended warranty. I brought a LG refrigerator in 2018. It stopped cooling after 8 months. It took LG 5 months and 4 attempts to repair before they decide it could not be repaired. So they replace it with another new refrigerator in Dec, 2020. Now here we are 13 months later Feb. 13 2021. The replacement stop cooling. They schedule an appt for Feb. 23, 10 days out and they are going to have to try at least 3 times to repair it before they can replace it. DONT BUY LG REFRIGERATORS. THEY ARE JUNK. LG need to stop working on the technology and work on the quality of their products. Bought LG washer and had nothing but trouble from the minute this washer arrived. The motor and tub fell out at our front door and had to get another machine. Then when the new machine got to our house - had ongoing water leaks and still is leaking water. LG will not fix it or repair it because they say its out of warranty now even though it was just fixed. Apparently there is no warranty on work performed by a service center? We bought the latest LG washer (WT5070CW) and dryer (DLGX5171W) that have the glass doors. BIGGEST MISTAKE. I used to have the GE washer and dryer, basic machines and they did a far superior job. Unfortunately it broke down and hence I had to buy a new pair. GE/Maytag/Whirlpool are the only brands with good household appliances. If youve never used a good machine before youd never realize. My clothes arent clean enough. High Efficiency is crap. It uses very little water to evenly wash clothes. I got over that hump by trying different options. Yet its very rough on clothes. It also takes VERY long to wash. My old GE took only 45 mins to do an excellent wash. The same now takes 1 hr 47 mins! The dryer doesnt dry fully. Works ok only on small clothes like small towels etc., things like bed sheets dont dry evenly. Large loads irrespective of the size of the garment dont dry evenly. I gave 1 star because its required. Its not worth any.

We bought our LG front load model WM2487HRM in 2008 and about 6 months after, it started shaking so bad that our whole house would shake. My husband put some vibration pads under the feet and these seem to help for a long time. However, the mold and regular cleaning has been terrible. In the last year, we have been using only the low spin with only using light loads. This seems to elevate the washer moving a foot, however, it now moves about a foot with all three. The low spin, only putting in half load or less with the pads under the feet as well. There are other problems too. The washer will leak from the front. The washer will sometimes not get the soap into the drum. We have tried all of these options because the set cost $3,200.00, which is ridiculous considering our problems. It will cost $800.00 to $1,200.00 to fix and at this point, we will wait and buy another. But not the same brand.

DO NOT BUY LG refrigerator!!! The compressor on ours failed literally after 11 months and after 2 months of waiting for repair, theyre still trying to re-fix it with absolute disregard for any sensible customer care. LG does not even have their own people for repairs, they contracted another company so it is the blame game and you will never get an answer of when or if the refrigerator will ever be repaired. You will never be able to replace it even if it is under warranty with less than a year in use. LG will make sure you will receive their run around, at least thats our experience. Bottom line, the process of dealing with LG has been a nightmare and customers are on their own. LG does not care since they have already collected their money! Do yourself a favor and do not make our $2,800 mistake. DO NOT BUY LG - GARBAGE QUALITY and NONSENSE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

At Thanksgiving our LG refrigerator and freezer stopped working. We bought it new a few years ago and loved its design and size. It was a lot of money for us but we splurged. We called the company we bought it from and they told us to call LG service direct. We could not get any response when calling LG so just decided to get a tech to look at it. Took him a week to get back to us because of the holidays. He told us the sealed freon system was broken and the compressor was toast and he could not do the repair. He charged us for the visit and left. He said it would cost a lot of money to fix - So we tried to contact another service company to fix it. The only one we could find to work on our fridge is a couple of hours away and we have to take the refrigerator to them. It is very heavy and taking it down a flight of stairs is pretty scary and we really dont want to transport it. We called LG again trying to get a service tech to come out to our home to fix it but cant get through to anyone. At this point we are probably going to buy another brand as we have been without a fridge for weeks. If LG wants our business please answer your phones!

I chose to purchase my LG refrigerator because I got it on clearance at a ridiculously low price at Lowes. I believe I only paid about 400 dollars for the fridge. The original price was over 1000 dollars. I found that to be too good of a deal to pass up. It had enough of the features I wanted at a price point I found attractive. I liked many features of my LG refrigerator. The first thing I liked about it was the color. It was my first stainless steel refrigerator. I also liked that it had side-by-side doors and the fridge was on top. It was cool at the time. I did not like that it needed a special water filter that was extremely expensive. I also grew to dislike the quality of stainless steel it was made from. It was too prone to smudging and the steel itself was too bright. I prefer a brushed or gunmetal finish to my stainless steel.

This machine (LG wt5480cw) has been nothing but trouble. The detergent draw stayed full of water after every load I purchased the extended warranty thru LG coverage until 2019. They sent out a repairman 4 times finally fixed it. Now the tub will not drain completely so I called for repair. This is their customer Julies reply. We have been out there 3 times under the warranty and I have used up the money on those other calls even though they were for the same problem. They kept opening a new claim number (which they should have not done it was the problem). Now we are going to buy out the service contract for $267.00 leaving me out in the cold when I thought I was safe until 2019.So what is the sense in buying extended warranty if they deduct the service calls from the original price of the washer until it surpasses it purchase price then youre screwed. I could have paid for the service call without their RIP OFF EXTENDED WARRANTY CRAP and been ahead. Now I have $267.00 to replace a $900 washer. Please do not buy the extended warranty or better yet DO NOT BUY ANY LG PRODUCTS.

I bought the washing machine because of the large tub. I assumed I would be able to do good size loads, very reasonable but large. Not the case. I also expected the machine to wash the cloths. My laundry is not unusually soiled in anyway just normal day to day of a retired couple. Even a white towel load with a cup of bleach and the towels were not clean. The machine has a glass top so I watched as I put the load through again. The towels on the top never even were cycled through the soapy water (what little water there was). Because of this they also did not get rinsed adequately. To see just how well they did get rinsed I again put the same towel load in not adding any soap to see if any was still in the towels. The wash looked as though I had put detergent in as usual. I had used the very small amount of the detergent as instructed. I wish I had researched this washer before buying as I NEVER would have bought it. I was blinded by the size of the tub and hope to warn anyone else considering this machine. I have had it 3 weeks and will try to return it to Home Depot where I bought it but I am doubtful I will get very far with that.

This is the worst machine ever. They are now selling a 2 year old machine at local flea markets to see if a sucker will buy it. True Balance means it will never truly balance and will not wash one load of clothing without it taking you hours. This machine might work on cement and only cement because if it is on a wood flooring it will not work.I have found that if I load clothes, it keeps trying to sense the clothing, then I shut it off, restart and let it go. I can get half a cycle done until it spins then is off balance again. Then you shut it off, turn it back on to spin. Shut it off, then restart with rinse and spin... You can sometimes get it to work. The worst design ever for this high priced piece of junk.LG is not a company I will ever purchase from again. Do not buy this machine and do not take this machine if it is given to you for free. All other comments are true. It will not wash clothes. It just spins around and uses endless amounts of water to balance. Hours upon hours for 1 small load. If you have this machine do what I listed above. Have the exact same type of clothing, start a cycle, let it get it wet, when it gives you the error message shut it off, restart when clothes are wet, then when it does the IE shut it off, restart on spin, then restart on rinse/spin. Model LFX28978SB - For the 2nd time in the last 4 months, I have thrown away all of the food in our LG refrigerator/freezer. This refrigerator had the compressor replaced 4 months ago and then again, one month later. Now, apparently, the electrical board needs to be replaced. This is a $2,300+ appliance that is less than 5 years old. Just talked to the company that is actually doing the repair and apparently LG wont overnight the part we need because they are paying for the repair. If we are lucky, the part could arrive by Monday at 4:00. Too bad I have two kids and a husband that require 3 meals a day. The morning of Monday, May 18th started as any other Monday. I woke up at 5:30, turned on my computer, started my coffee, put the dogs out and reached into the refrigerator to get my cream. Imagine my surprise when I realized my 16 month old refrigerator [LFXS30766S] and freezer were warm. I’ve bulleted a the rest of this story to make it read faster for those of you who care to. • Called LG support, who deduced that it was probably the compressor and issued a service ticket [**] for 5/19 between 8-5 am EDT. [At no time does he mention that they have a known problem with their compressors which is why they have extended their one year parts and labor warranty into a five year warranty.] o I was thrilled to receive a call around lunchtime from the service company [J.O.A. ELECTRONICS] who told me he could come that same afternoon [5/18] to look at the refrigerator. o J.O.A. comes at 3 pm EDT, runs diagnostic, confirms it was the compressor, charges me $50 and starts to leave. I ask him how long it will take the part to come in.o J.O.A. then tells me LG will order compressor and fix the refrigerator that he can’t do it. [Are you freaking kidding me?] • Called LG support back and talked to a new service rep who told me: o J.O.A. Electronics shouldn’t have charged me $50 as my refrigerator was still under warranty and he should order the part so he can come back and fix it. o She then supplies ME with their contact info and tells ME I need to:  Call them and tell them they have to return my check. [as they shouldn’t have charged me] Confirm that they can order the part and fix the refrigerator. [Isn’t this why she’s getting paid?] • So at this point my husband gets home from work and calls J.O.A: o who refuses to return or destroy our check, causing us to call our bank and issue a stop payment [$30].o who also tells Steve that his job was to do a diagnostic, not order the part or fix the refrigerator just do a diagnostic. [seriously, this is who my service ticket from LG went to? What happened to a certified tech or company…] • Called LG support back [for those counting, this is call three on 5/18], and talk to another service rep who: o Listens to my tale. o Puts me on hold to talk to management; and then gets back on the phone to tell me, she can:  schedule an appointment [**] with Jude an LG certified technician, for 5/26 between 8-12 EDT [because Monday, 5/25 was Memorial Day] NOTE: that’s a week without a refrigerator DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND AFTER DOING A MONTH’S WORTH OF FOOD SHOPPING.o After slightly losing my **, let’s be honest folks, for all of those of you who know me, patience is not my strongest strength, I tell her fine and graciously accept the appointment with Jude the Savior for over a week away. We make due for the next week without a refrigerator [shopping daily/borrowing refrigerator space from friends]. Again, you can’t make this ** up. • So, joyous day, 5/26 arrives: o Jude [the long awaited LG certified tech] calls to tell me he’s running late and will be at our house closer to 1:30/2:00. o In the meantime, our address update from my calls a week earlier take effect and our town is updated. [they had the correct street address but the wrong city]o I immediately get a call from Jude, the LG certified tech and savior, who I have waited a week to come fix my refrigerator, who tells me our town isn’t in his territory so he won’t be coming because it’s too far. He cancels my RNN ticket. [We live 15 minutes from the wrong town in the ticket.] • Pissed off [major understatement], I called LG support, tell the service rep I want to speak to a supervisor, get put through to another minion, tell my story, AGAIN, including the J.O.A. mess, tells me he can get us serviced the next day [you see there’s no way we can get same day service because of COVID-19 and such – really, there’s a pandemic in play, this is news to me], 5/27, new ticket issued [**]. [We wait with baited breath to find out who is going to be coming to fix our refrigerator.] o I get a text telling me a service ticket has been issued and I will be contacted once a service center has confirmed.o J.O.A. ELECTRONICS accepts my ticket is confirmed as our service company. [again, you can’t make this ** up] • We call back LG support, express our frustration and concerns about J.O.A. being assigned the ticket and again tell him the story about J.O.A. an the incident that happened back on May 18th. o While we’re on hold, the service rep calls J.O.A. himself. [props Arnell as it was more than Diane did for us on 5/18]  They assure him they can do the job and they will call us to set up an appt.o We wait. [NO CALL. NO APPT SET UP.]• The morning of 5/27, I literally get woken up by a text from LG that says they are still looking for a provider to come as quickly as possible. I will be notified when an appt is confirmed.• I send an email complaint to the office of the president because he wants to be connected to his customers (5/27), outlining our dilemma and the challenge we’ve had getting service for our refrigerator. [Again, it’s only 16 months old]• 5/27, call LG support (again), to be disconnected (again), but this time Service Representative calls me back. We now have a case ticket (vs a repair ticket [CNN vs an RNN]) which will take 3-5 days to be reviewed before hearing back from LG. [AT WHAT POINT IS LIFE GOOD WITH LG because I’ve missed the GOOD LIFE EXPERIENCE!]• 5/29, receive a standard letter from an executive advisor in response to my letter to the president thanking me for my letter, telling me that my case is in review and let her know if there was any immediate needs that she could help me with…SERIOUSLY, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? IMMEDIATE NEED. HOW ABOUT A REFRIGERATOR THAT WORKS!!!The worst part is we are out hundreds of dollars in food, the returned check fee, a couple of vacation days and I still do not have a working REFRIGERATOR. At this point, I just want my money back so I can buy a refrigerator that works and will work 10 years from now. Again, our compressor didn’t even make it 24 months. So if you’re in need of a refrigerator, do not buy the hype – LIFE IS NOT GOOD WITH LG. Buy a Samsung, GE, Kenmore, or another brand. Life is not Good.

I purchased a DLEX3250W model LG dryer in December of 2014. I have had problems with lint screen since early on. The screen does not fit its holder and clothes will catch on the corner and twist when drying causing the clothes to wrinkle terribly. During Memorial weekend of the year (2016) when drying towels, the dryer stopped heating. When I contacted the LG technician, I was very disappointed with the fact that I could hardly understand him, and he did not seem to know anything except what he was reading. He said that it may be the electric plug and we probably needed to call an electrician. We tested the plug and it was fine. He also said something about lint buildup and that was untrue. We ended up purchasing a new Maytag dryer since we had family up for the weekend. I am very disappointed in this purchase and will not buy another LG product again.

We purchased our first and last LG appliance and 30 days after the one year
We purchased our first and last LG appliance and 30 days after the one year warranty had expired the fridge and freezer totally broke down. The unit was just over a year old, brand new. Well I called LG and because it was over the year they said for a tech to come out to my house would cost a lot of money and only the compressor would be covered and I would have to pay for the tech to come to the house. I contacted Direct Energy and they sent a tech with their program they have. I lost over $1,000 worth of food. I was without a fridge freezer for over 21 days.LG is very selective about their parts who they give them to, but to wait 21 days with 2 small kids and no fridge freezer its crazy. Well finally everything was fixed for 30 days and the fridge freezer broke down again and the ice maker ice melted all over the floor. Once again called a tech, I had just restocked my fridge and freezer again and lost everything. Apparently the rule bet membrane around the freezer is loose, the ice maker has to be replaced and the fridge stopped working. The unit I purchased from LG was over $3,800.00. What a wasted of money LG products are. Do not waste your money or time. We will see if it ever gets fixed.

Both my son and I bought LG washers. Bearings out on mine and cost to repair was equal to buying new washer. He had the extended warranty. Called the help line. Someone just kept repeating with a foreign accent, Only the drum (stainless will be around forever) and the motor are covered. My model had mold and mildew problems from the beginning. Now we both have nice dryers and will have mismatched washers. Beware! Bearings are not covered and you will have a flood, no washer, mismatched appliances, ruined flooring. Of course our State is not in the class action against LG. Guess where we would like to stick the stainless drum!

I needed a dishwasher. LG had a whole set of stuff on sale and I thought it looked good. So I bought it all including the refrigerator and the washer. I also use LG phones, so I like their products. Within an hour after the service people left and delivered, I noticed a dent in the refrigerator door. We then had multiple appointments. The guy came out twice and he didn’t have what he needed. Then we had more appointments that were cancelled. Finally, I had one that they cancelled and when I called the vendor that I had been dealing with, they told me that I had to refile my claim. I then got a hold of LG directly and I found out that the vendor had ordered in a wrong door and all this time, they never returned it, so LG never sent them a replacement. So the vendor kept scheduling an install and they expected me to have the door. The vendor was not knowledgeable at all.It took about nine months to get the refrigerator done. But I love it. My favorite feature is that little extra door on it, but the shelving is not adjustable enough. I can’t get them on the height I would like them. And on the dishwasher, the settings are not made for American dishes. It’s small in the rack and certain spaces, and not as flexible as my older one was and it seems to not hold as many dishes, either.

Three years ago I purchased the LG WT4870C washer -- a He top loader with stainless tub. Its been less than a satisfying experience owning it. The unit flashes the IE error code on virtually every load of laundry. Since my washer is in the basement, Im blissfully unaware of the error code. So, the wash cycle practically never finished when I expect; Ive come to count on it taking twice as long to do laundry as it should. The IE error code indicates a dirty water filter, and I wonder how I ever existed for years with my old washer -- it never gave me a bit of trouble related to water quality. This unit is so sophisticated. It can actually sync to your smart phone. Who gives a damn!! Can I start a wash cycle and add clothes as the tub is filling with water? Nope! I like to do that to save time, but LG thinks its a good idea to lock the lid so you must get all your dirty clothes inside the tub before you start. You cannot open that sucker while its working. Not happening. And, in this great freedom-loving country of ours, do I get to choose how much water to use to wash my clothes? Nope! I should be able to wash one sock with 10 gallons of water if I choose. Whether or not I have my own well (which I do), it should be my choice. Sometimes I just want to soak -- I mean truly SOAK -- something in water. The control freaks at LG decided to be clever and prevent the user from exercising this right. You will use exactly the amount of water THEY want you to use. Seems very un-American to me. In short, simple is usually better, and the LG WT4870C is not simple. Dont be drawn in by all the bright lights and fancy chimes. This unit is overpriced and the product of Big Brothers crack team of controllers. I wish I had not bought it.

We contacted LG customer service and we were referred to 2 companies in our area for repair. The companies would not work on our refrigerator due to lawsuits and LG not reimbursing. They told us they would set up appointment with repairman in 3-5 business days. Now 11 days later and still no call for appointment. Stand behind your products that are under warranty.

I have no respect for a company that dont carry parts for their products past 7 years. Who would have thought that you are supposed to consider making a nearly $2,500 purchase of an appliance as a throw-a-way.

Only thing good about LG service is that the quoted price was what I paid even though they replaced 3 major components. Error message read - ER/1F on our LG refrigerator (model LFX31925ST) exactly 1 year and 1 month (1 year warranty) after we purchased it. We unplugged unit, then plugged it back in and the message went away. Freezer food was slightly thawing and ice maker wouldnt work. Everything would be fine for a couple months, then same ordeal. 2 years after purchase, we were issued a one time extended courtesy warranty and our local repairman replaced the grill assembly fan. Now we have an annoying, vibrating, noise. We just cant win with this poor purchase ($2200). WILL NEVER RECOMMEND AN LG REFRIGERATOR. We are currently registered in the class action suit.

Ive already posted my complaint on this site, but I forgot to mention that I had to pay to have the door hinge replaced because it had corroded due to bleach spilling onto it, the only bleach I use is when I am using the Tub Clean cycle to attempt to remove the stink and slime. I have never spilled the bleach so the dispenser must leak. I believe the cause of the leaking might be due to the LG repairman puncturing the bleach compartment because I was having problems with bleach remaining in the chamber after the wash cycle and then bleaching clothing in the next wash load (dark clothing). Biggest mistake I have ever made in appliance purchase.

This is the first LG product I have owned. After owning a washer/dryer set
This is the first LG product I have owned. After owning a washer/dryer set for 10 years with no problems made by Frigidaire, the dryer stopped heating. I gave in and decided it was time to upgrade my set (did a lot of shopping around). I purchased the set on 1/28/2012 (WT5001CW - Top load washer & DLE5001W-Electric Dryer) from HHGregg, cost $1701.58. On July 14th of 2012, the washer just stopped mid cycle with no power (clothes still wet inside it). One servicer in the state of KY services LG and could only get to it on 7/25. Power board was fried (order parts will be 3-5 business days to get and install because LG wont overnight the parts unless I paid for it). So now, we are looking at 8/1/2012 for a repair (the washer has a foul mildew odor since it has been filled with water since 7/14). With two young kids and a husband who works outdoors, not doing laundry isnt an option; so I have to pay a laundromat to get my clothes done since sitting for hours isnt feasible with a 20-month-old. LG was awful and couldnt care less if their product is bad and couldnt care less about a clients situation (I was lied to four times about finding another servicer to get to it faster and finally told that I would have to go with the first one). I was offered a laundry reimbursement on 7/26 (after at least 6 phone calls last week), but that was just a maybe. Once the washer is fixed, I can submit the claim for that and wait and see. I am disappointed in the service and product that LG offers. I was so excited to get this new pair and use them, but now I wish I had spent the extra money and gone Whirlpool or Maytag. I will never own another LG product again. Maybe I should sell this pair and cut my losses and move on.

I bought an LG front-loading washing machine. Within 2 years, the cycle stopped repeatedly in the middle of a wash. An internal part had broken. I had to replace it at cost. The same replacement broke the next year. I replaced it at cost. That same replacement broke. Same story. I asked myself if it was part of LGs plan to make faulty parts so the consumer would have to pay every year to replace them. After 6 years, the programming motherboard broke (dont ask me what it is called -- it manages all the settings on the machine) completely broke down. The wash stopped repeatedly during a cycle so I had to restart again and again and a 30-minute wash would take 2 hours. Many times it never finishing the final spin. LG said the replacement part would be $150.BUT then they called back and said since the machine is 6 years old, they wont supply the part anymore. They wanted me to buy a new washing machine after 6 years! I told them I would never buy another LG product. Instead I found the part from a third party supplier, and I hope my machine will last another 10 years so I dont have to spend on a completely new machine. My advice: NEVER BUY from LG unless you plan to replace parts every year and replace your entire expensive appliance every 5-6 years. Since they stop supplying parts, you will need a new machine.

In July 2017 the refrigerator stopped cooling, no ice or no water. Even with the extended warranty it was two weeks before svc was available... The day of svc... The svc man could not move the refrigerator to put the part in... And now they want $120.00 extra to send a second guy to help the one guy to move the refrigerator. What nonsense! The refrig should not have broken DOWN!!! LG doesnt own it. Mrs G doesnt own it... Jersey Appliance service doesnt own it. I have a BROKEN UNREPAIRED $3000.00 LG refrigerator that is only TWO YEARS old.

I love the configuration of this refrigerator, especially the middle drawer. Beyond that, this expensive refrigerator has been a major disappointment due to multiple and repeated problems, including a loud noise when the compressor is running, and ice build-up in both the refrigerator and the freezer sections, resulting in three service calls for each issue.

Hello, after several weeks of looking at refrigerators, my wife and I purch
Hello, after several weeks of looking at refrigerators, my wife and I purchased a new LG refrigerator in December, 2017. This past weekend it stopped cooling. Due to COVID19 the customer service department at LG has reduced hours. I contacted them on Monday morning at 8am and filed a warranty repair. I was told that “someone” would contact me in 24 to 48 hours. I was contacted by an approved service repair company the same day. The repair contractor offered to come out on Thursday. I didn’t find that acceptable when faced with over $1,000.00 of food that would be wasted. So I called LG back and the supervisor gave me 3 other names that I could call. I was able to reach two of them. Both were able to schedule me today!I called LG back to learn that if I wanted a different “approved” service provider to fix it that it would require a letter of authorization from them and that would take 2 to 4 days to issue! What? So my wife went out on a mission to find a suitable freezer that I could purchase to put in our garage. No luck! Due to COVID19 food hoarders the earliest I could get one delivered was possibly Thursday! Again, no solution.By 4pm I was faced with emptying out my refrigerator or scheduling another repair company. So I decided to schedule one on my own. They are coming today. I called LG back this morning and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to a lady in the “executive” team. She told me that 4 days to get a repair technician wasn’t “that” long and because I was taking matters into my own hands, it would void the warranty! What??? I am voiding my warranty by getting one of their approved service providers to fix my refrigerator faster than they could get it scheduled? Not only did I find one but both of the providers I called were faster than the one assigned. And, because I circumvented their system, I lose my warranty? Nobody informed me till this morning that taking the matter into my own hands for resolution would void my warranty.None of this makes any sense. We spent over $4,000.00 on this refrigerator for it to go out within 2.5 years. Dealing with customer service has been a horrible experience. I cannot believe that obtaining service from an authorized service company would void my warranty. I can’t believe that when I found one that could come quicker than 4 days, LG wasn’t appreciative and simply move my order. Instead, they penalized me. There is nothing right, easy or customer oriented about the process I have experienced. It’s downright wrong.

Went to Lowes where I bought my LG refrigerator to buy a replacement filter and they said everybody was out of the water filter I needed. Sick of this, they told me the same story last year. They ended up giving me one of their filters from a demo on their floor after I insisted they do so. Im telling everybody NOT to buy LG cause of this problem. Model No. LFX31925ST/06 is the LG Refrigerator I have. This really sucks. If I had know this fact about LG not being able to replace filters for their refrigerator in a timely manner I would have never bought one. We moved into a new house 5/2015, and as a present to ourselves, bought a brand new stackable LG washer and dryer that had been highly recommended in Consumer Reports. We bought LG 4.3 CF WM3370HWA and LG 7.4 CF DLEX3370W from Lowes in Everett, WA. This is a front loader washer. From day ONE this washer would not get clothes clean. It does not matter if you use the recommended detergent (my previous ten-year-old Kenmore used whatever you wanted to put in it, and got things sparkling clean), doesnt matter if you add bleach. It wont do a small load, and we are a retired couple so we dont have huge loads! It also wont wash a load of sheets - it balls them into tiny balls. If you try to wash a mixed load with a couple towels, you repeatedly get the UE (uneven load error). I constantly am standing on my head rearranging a sopping wet heavy bunch of clothing. I NEVER had this before with my top loader Kenmore! It also does not add the detergent in the first part of the wash - it doesnt add it til like 35 minutes into the wash. God help you if you add bleach, everything comes out smelling like none of the bleach is washed out. It makes a very loud chunking noise while filling, also. When you wash socks (and mind you, we are clean people who do not have pets, so its not like our floors make filthy socks)...the socks come out looking like they have not been washed at all - the knit on the bottoms are still depressed from walking...and the socks are not fluffed up at all!We called Lowes, and they said you have to call LG. So we called LG and they sent out a repair person. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. First words out of the guys mouth when he got there - I have twelve visits today and I cant stay past 30 minutes... Then he went over to the washer, pushed buttons on it a couple times, pronounced it fine, and started to leave. When we stopped him to ask questions, he got very defensive. We told him Its NOT fine, it wont clean the clothes! He said Well, it cleans them, just obviously not good enough for YOU. I showed him the dirt on the socks and he said Well, add more water! So I said Can you please at least stay through a cycle so you can see that it is NOT doing what it is supposed to do? He refused. After he left, we tried pushing the add more water button (which means none of the preset wash choices work...you have to do manual wash selection every time) and it still did not get the clothes clean. Also, yes, there is tons of crap that accumulates in the virtually uncleanable rubber gasket, and yes, we leave the door open 24/7. So far no smell, but I think that is because I use bleach so much and leave the door totally open. Now for the dryer. IT WONT DRY CLOTHES unless you put it on timed dry and high heat! And still, it balls everything into a ball! Our previous Kenmore never did this! And it also has one of those rubber gaskets on the door that fills with lint and you cant clean it out! We paid $2,089 for this piece of crap set and that is a lot of money for a retired couple on social security and a small retirement. I think I hate the LG people for selling an inferior product and not blinking an eye about it. I only wish I had seen this page of complaints BEFORE we bought this. PLEASE DONT BUY ANYTHING THAT USES SENSOR! Sensor does not work. Please dont buy a front loader LG. THEY DONT WORK. And when we called back LG and asked for a different repair person, they told us there was no one else...it was him or no one. Have a nice day. Click.

I have Model WT1101CW LG washing machine and can say with total honesty that this is the worse machine I have ever owned. It goes out of balance so many times during the wash cycle that it takes hours to wash a load. It keeps filling with water to try to rebalance itself so it wastes water and ultimately we end up stopping it with the clothes still wet to dry them because it will not spin them out. Purchased washer, gas dryer bundle. Front door leaked water from first use. Told us to clean it - we wiped it dry every use. After 2.5 months the valves and baskets and other parts (a solenoid that shuts the water off) required replacement. Even with the additional warranty we still owed 350.00 each time. Our washer required authorized repair parts and authorized service people so we had to wait weeks for the appointment, weeks for the parts to be ordered then weeks for a follow up appointment. We bought a LG washer in 2009 and thank goodness we purchased the extended warranty. We have had so many problems and it has required numerous expensive repairs. In the first year under LGs warranty we knew it was a lemon. After four years of replacing numerous parts it is deemed irreparable. Our service person from the warranty company called LG and gave us a number to hopefully replace it. After six weeks of working with them we were given two reference numbers and felt confident that the problem was being solved and they had our initial sales receipt. We found out we have been working with a call center in the Philippines from a LG representative in Alabama. When I asked why they have indicated to us things were progressing he said you are dealing with people in the Philippines and they are going to tell you want you want to hear.In the end, I was told our washer had gone for final review and we would be contacted in 10 to 12 business days about its possible replacement since it is irreparable. When I called to find out why I had not heard back, I was given the run around again. It was only when I insisted several times on talking corporate that I learned we would have to go through the extended warranty company which was not the information we received at first. So for over six weeks we believed LG was handling this professionally only to find we had been given the run around and dealing with people who really did not understand what they were doing. I am very concerned about this kind of professionalism and why we werent told after numerous calls and all the information they had that they were not going to replace our washer. So if you have problems beware that even though you feel reassured the problem is being dealt with, it might not be. So why did they lead us on for five weeks and numerous phone calls? They could have told us initially we were on the wrong path.

Purchased an LG fridge about 6 months ago. Over two weeks ago it began not cooling well and progressively got worse, soupy ice cream, rotting veggies etc... Called the place we bought it from Goedekers online. They forwarded us to LG since it was under a year old. Goedekers made some calls but even the President Steve Goedeker said he cant do much. Unbelievable, these companies are happy to take your money but have no problem leaving you and your family high and dry.LG has been a nightmare to deal with, the first week was wasted speaking to representatives that barely understood English. Finally request someone to come out on their website hoping that will get someone to come out and help us... After many phone calls, many lies, many conversations of no one caring (we are a family with a son under 2 years old etc... in a rural area) its over two weeks now and not even a phone call or servicer has been sent out to even diagnose our fridge. I even found a tech willing to come out and provided LG all the info - found out later through another source that spoke to their dealer department that they denied him because they didnt want to pay him standard rates. They spoke to another servicer in our area and they didnt approve his rates either and kept trying to talk him down as well. They have chosen to not help us and keep our family waiting to try to pay low rates to local service repair men. Youd think theyve spent at least that much paying their employees to make so many calls trying to negotiate ridiculously low rates. Why not just do the right thing and service the customer??? They have put us off, delayed and delayed any kind of progress just to pinch pennies and negotiate with service repairmen to see who will take their low negotiated rates. SO WRONG. My advice NEVER EVER EVER buy LG, our fridge was a $2700 fridge and it is not working in 6 months. They could not care less. Dont buy from online places, buy at your local appliance Ma and Pa place. Someone who will actually care, and hold true to some values.

This is the worst refrigerator ever! We thought LG made a quality product, but this refrigerator is a lemon. We have already spent $900 fixing it, I wish we would have bought another brand to replace it. We have had it for two years! The ice maker gets jammed up all the time, and the motor sounds like a freight train while running. The outside is not stainless steel and is starting to rust.

Update 08/21/2019:After posting this review LG was quick to respond with to a private exchange to stand behind their product. We had several exchanges concluding with me sending them the details and invoice from the LG certified repair company we had used to assess the unit. Unfortunately after this exchange we have received no further communication from LG. They had stated they would stand behind the quality of their product however after more than 2 weeks of silence and a not functioning refrigerator I am losing confidence. I am disappointed that they set the expectation that they would help and then have failed to respond. Not only because I would like their help but I need to decide if I need to buy a new refrigerator. Ironically the short term solve has been to use a 20 year old Amana unit in the garage which has never needed any repairs. Maybe we should go back to a more reliable brand. Original review:We bought an LG refrigerator when we purchased a new home. 5 year and 2 months later the board has gone out, the fan motor isnt working, and our repair man says the defrost is also not working. To fix it will cost more than $1000 with parts and labor. Very disappointed to be needing a new unit after just 5 years.

I have a technician coming out next week and I sure hope this is rectified.

Plastic pieces broke within a month, resulting in failure of performance, i.e., faulty freezer drawer, sliding shelves, etc. Good thing theres an alarm for open doors because they never shut without some force. The ice doesnt completely freeze all the time (regardless of temp setting), and regularly drops into floor of freezer when drawer is opened. Without doubt I would recommend this to my worst enemy.

Not worth a damn on the inside! Three failures after warranty. Ice Maker which I replaced. Board failure which a small appliance company replaced. Now the compressor is no longer pumping. And guess what, its only a year and a half old. Last failure date - 6/29/17 just before the fourth of July weekend. So now we have to scramble to get some refrigeration. We spend $500.00 on a basic GE to get us buy until I decide what to do with the piece of crap LG that looms in our computer room like some piece of artwork! What I feel like doing is putting a rope around it dragging it down to Lowes to leave it at their front door. NEVER AGAIN!

I purchased a brand new house not even a year ago. I was beyond excited that NEW LG appliances will be included with the house. Little did I know. My first issue was that the ice machine did not make ice. Next my refrigerator started defrosting all my food in the freezer component. Thankfully I had a full warranty. I was wrong, no one in Customer Service nor executive services wanted to help. They pretty much left me to deal with this issue alone, 4 technicians later my fridge is still not fixed. I purchased a new LG WaveForce washing machine at a Best Buy. It has never worked right since purchased. I called Best Buy, they told me to contact LG. I have been contacting them for over a year. They want a service person to come over and over to replace the brain of it. This changes nothing when it is built to work that way. Its not broken, it just doesnt function right from the start. Ive sent pictures of the loads that come out in big knots! The machine is high efficiency so it should be economical, but when it goes UE all the time, you can never leave it alone to do a load. It will keep draining and filling up to try to even itself. Its very wasteful of water! This is not a floor leveling problem at all. Its the machines problem. Some loads just all float to the top and never get pulled down through the water, which leaves spots on clothing and not overall good cleaning. Its just a lemon! I want my money back! Neither place will give it to me. I paid cash, I have receipt. I took pics of how my loads come out, but keep getting the runaround. All I want is my money back! Ive been married for 32 years and this is my third washer, so I do not abuse them. There is just no help coming anywhere for me! No company should get by with this kind of customer treatment.

Our 34-month-old WM3370HVA front load washer started making loud noises and smoking on Aug 20. Here it is Oct 30 and the machine cannot be repaired because not parts have been available. We have submitted our complaint numerous times via LGs website to receive a call back within 24 hours, as the website claims. No return call has been received. We went to Pacific Sales in Best Buy to get their help. The rep spoke with LG customer service and said we would receive a call from LG. That never happened. After several failed attempts to get assistance we spoke with Brenda at ext ** in Alabama. She said she would research our complaint and get back within 24 - 48 hours. That never happened.Oct 17, I spoke with Wendy because Brenda was not available to learn the parts would be at the warehouse tomorrow. Wendy said she would email Brenda and the repairman to notify them. Still have not heard from Brenda. The repairman said he could not do anything until we requested a new work order, by calling LG customer service. Oct 19, after 48 minutes on the phone with various reps and hearing the your time is very precious to us recording 48 times, the call was disconnected. Did the rep call us back? NO!Called customer service again to get an appointment for the repair. They had Monday and Tuesday, next week available. We will be out of town visiting a terminally ill family member and need an appointment after our return on Wednesday. Sorry, they cant schedule that far in advance. We suggested that perhaps there was someone in the company that could schedule an appointment more than one week in advance. The rep said she would see what she could do and call us back. That call has not happened. So two months dealing with LG to repair an expensive machine malfunction is still unresolved. We will never buy another LG product. Avoid LG if at all possible!!

LG Gas Range Knob Safety Issue - We recently purchased a 30 slide-in LG gas
LG Gas Range Knob Safety Issue - We recently purchased a 30 slide-in LG gas range and soon found out that it does not take much for the control knobs to be unintentionally rotated to the on position and start releasing gas without us noticing it. One has to lightly press each knob and the mechanical safety lock is immediately released which means the knob can be rotated unintentionally and Gas starts to be released. So far in the space of less than 3 weeks we have had at least three incidences when we did not know that the knobs were accidentally turned on (perhaps by people brushing by) and were only alerted by the smell of gas filling the kitchen. The Home Depot seems to have no return policy for major appliances but we shall be going back to our local store to see if they will make an exception and replace this range with another model. If they refuse to take it back, you will hear from me again.

The LG website doesnt work and you are unable to register a complaint there. To pre-treat a large cat urine stain on my daughters duvet and cover I poured apple cider vinegar on the spot. Then I put the washing machine on the bulky/bedding cycle, added some more apple cider vinegar, HE detergent and an hour later I put it in the dryer on bulky/bedding setting and chose very dry....twice! Thats an hour for the washer and 2 hours and 10 mins for the dryer. Not only is the duvet and cover still damp but the stain is still there. So tomorrow I am off to the Laundromat where I should have gone in the first place. There is no point in having a bulky/bedding cycle if the machine is unable to handle the load. I will never buy one of these top loaders again. The clothes are NEVER clean and I always have to choose a longer drying time. I feel that LG has misrepresented their product as energy saving!

I bought an LG French door refrigerator 3 years ago and I wish I would have seen these reviews back then. Please DO NOT purchase an LG refrigerator! Listen to the people who wrote the bad reviews and do your homework. We all have the same reoccurring problem. The compressors fail by the most 3 years. Mine failed after 3 years and then again after 2 months. Twice in two months I lost my food. The first time in January of 2020 and then again in April 2020. They compensated me the first time for food loss but the second time they denied me because they said 12 months have to go by before they can compensate me again. Whoever thought this would happen again within 2 months. This time I lost more food cause I made sure I had enough food to last me for 3 weeks since we are in quarantine. It is very stressful during these times to try to stay safe while shopping. I had to wait one week for a repair man to come and worry about us staying safe and distant when he was repairing. I lost all my food and had to purchase a limit amount of food to fit in my cooler with ice. This imposed a tremendous inconvenience since I had to shop at least three times that week. I called customer service and all they could say was sorry about that maam. Are they really sorry? This was not my fault but a product failure and they should be responsible to accommodate their customers with their needs. I paid $4,000 for this fridge and I did not expect this to happen so soon. This must happen quite often so they implemented a rule about compensating after twelve months. Be careful. Life is not all Good with LG.

We purchased an LG LMXS27626 in August 2016. It’s a nice fridge and worked well for our needs. Last year we had some minor issues but last week (May 2020) it stopped cooling completely. Annoying but we figured no problem. We will get it it repaired. We have since learned the mess we are in. We called every repair service in the area all of whom told us they do not work on the linear compressor. They helped us understand that it is a unique system that only LG service providers can fix. No problem we thought! At least it’s under warranty. Then we called them. Before I even hung up the phone with LG customer service I received the following email: LGs Authorized Service providers in your area are not showing availability at this time. We are urgently reaching out to other service providers to request their first available slot so that you can be supported as quickly as possible. You will be notified when an appointment is confirmed. If 7 days has passed from the date of this notice and you have not been scheduled for an appointment, please contact LG and we will escalate your case.I then took it upon myself to look at the LG website and called the 2 listed service providers in our area. They both stated they are no longer completing LG warranty services. Unsure of where to turn, we called Orville’s where we purchased the fridge. They gave us a phone number for who they said is the only LG employee who completes these repairs in our area. We called him and he was kind and helpful but he is unable to complete the repair unless LG sends the request. (We wondered why they hadn’t.) He double checked and never received anything pertaining to our issue. Good news is he has availability later this week and said he would be happy to do this but we must call back LG.I called & they told me that if we give him our Reference number that he will be able to set it up. We call back the tech/LG employee who says that is NOT true. I called back again and tried to tell them that we have an LG employee who is ready & willing to complete our repair this week but need them to set it up. They sounded surprised and after some back and forth on hold said they weren’t allowed to do this.Ok so what is the next step? I was told that LG is reaching out the an alternative service provider and will let us know when they get something on the schedule. Couldn’t get a company or any clear idea of what would be done. I asked when we might hear something and it was unclear but there wasn’t even anyone available to talk more with until Monday! So it’s 90 degrees and we don’t have a refrigerator. This is the only website that I have seen LG respond to. I will survive but honestly there are other customers who can’t access the same resources and it is concerning to read that we are one of SO MANY that go through this. This is clearly a widespread issue and LG’s lack of response so far will cause me to shop other brands in the future and also warn others of these problems. It’s not so much the fact that the appliance failed, it’s that it’s impossible to get it fixed in a timely manner. LG needs to find a solution and get some sort of procedure in place. I am hopeful this review will trigger a response & resolution.

Bought my refrigerator model LFX33975ST in 2013. Had high hopes I wouldnt have to purchase another unit for a long time but to my surprise two years later, Im looking at doing just that! My husband and I usually research products pretty good before purchasing them so we thought LG was a good choice -- WRONG. After two years, my refrigerator has stopped cooling. LGs Customer Service told me to contact a repairman to confirm the problem was the compressor and if so, they would mail a new part to me. The problem was the compressor, but the repairman told me they would not repair the refrigerator even if LG provided the part. I called another repairman but they refused to even to come out to look at it once I told him it was a LG refrigerator. I called LG back (after five days had passed) to check the status of my repair request and after being put on hold for 15-20 minutes, the person told me he was unable to get a hold of anyone and gave me three numbers I could call for service. The person at the last number I called was very helpful and honest. She told me she could schedule someone to come out to look at the unit but I would have to provide proof of purchase before they could do anything per LGs company policy. I was never told that by LGs Customer Service and at that point, it became very obvious to me I may not ever get my refrigerator fixed. Thumbs down LG - I will never buy one of your products again; oh no, too late -- earlier this year we purchased a new LG dishwasher and washer/dryer... yeps!!!

Updated on 06/08/2021: Same as others -- the Company contacted me, first offer a rebate which I have never seen. Then asked for proof of purchase, invoices, service tickets, etc. which I provided. They even texted me for information which I sent - in April -- and to date, absolutely no response. This is not acceptable!Original Review: I bought an LG refrigerator in 2014 and in December of 2020, it failed completely - cooling and freezing. I had a local authorized LG serviceman come and and he called tech support only to find out it was unrepairable. However, LG refuses to honor their warranty -- 7 years sealed system and 10 year compressor. After many emails they agreed to issue me a small payment but of course I have not seen anything! They are awful!!

We bought an LG dishwasher in December of 2018 and just 4 months later it totally crapped out. We called LG and they wanted to send a service repairman that was more than two hours away from us. He wanted $1000 upfront to come out as he didn’t want to fight with LG to get paid. We said no. Not for a $700 dishwasher. So we got a guy who is only 40 minutes from our house and is very reputable to come and look at it. When he pulled it out he discovered the control switch had caught fire and burned a hole in the bottom of my cupboard! It could’ve burnt my house down!At time of purchase we bought an extended warranty only to find out it’s not worth the paper it’s written on because we live too far away from the city we bought it. Also the control panel was completely fried. They wouldn’t consider paying us for the guy that came out because he’s not registered with them. Still fighting with them to see if we can get our money back as we don’t want something that is a fire hazard in our house. Do not purchase LG products! They are crap.

I have gotten very little usage from this LG dishwasher since I purchased it a few years ago. It has been one problem after another. I had not used it for approximately 8 months. When I DID try to use it, it gave me the oe code (Again). When the repairman came out, it was clogged up, he really DID not believe that I had not been using the dishwasher. Also, now the rubber and the sides that should be welded down is now coming loose. It cannot be repaired!!!!
