One week out of warranty period, the fan in the freezer iced up, leading to a call to one of the very few repairmen in the area. Cost: $300. Ms. **, said she’d talk to her supervisor about a one-week warranty extension and never called back after three follow-up calls. Other repairmen told me that the parts and schematics for the fridge are not available to any servicemen, not a LG tech. There are very few techs in my area and many other areas as well. Poor service, poor reliability, and dreary repair network available. It’s a problem appliance.

LG Washer Model # WT5070CW - The outer skirts of the bleach compartment of my LG top loader has rusted and has now split the metal of the machine. Thus, I have rust water draining into my laundry tub. The protection plan I bought was useless for it cover parts not cosmetics. LG could not help me, they wont stand behind their own work. Well, to be fair, the LG Rep did say that although he has no solution, he understands my disappointment. So, LG will not stand behind their product. Too bad for me...a shame. I will never purchase LG AGAIN! If there is a class action lawsuit that anyone knows of please contact me. I am out of $1000, a washing machine, clean clothes, and without recourse. Oh, by the way, this washer is under 3 years old.

LG Washer Dryer Combo - WM3987H - Combo unit was purchased 2 1/5 years ago and runs on 120V outlet. The cycle for washer is approx 1 hr and for normal size load take 90 minutes to dry. I kept getting OE message. Drain was not clogged as clean frequently. Hose not bent but when checking it could smell plastic burning. Looked behind and socket was charred and plug starting to melt. Shut off breaker and unplugged. Called LG. Only warranty motor but not other parts. Given 2 options to repair relatively new unit that almost caught my home on fire and essentially will cost 400.00 to LG and was 200.00 for electric work. My prior washer dryer lasted over 12 years with NO repair. This was not my expectation from this product of LG.

We purchased this refrigerator in May 2015. Ice maker has always been marginal, but this last week after we got home from a few days away, we found the refrigerator and freezer not working. No error codes, so we tried a power reset. Still no cooling or freezing. We called the appliance repair from the store we purchased from and their technician came out and verified the compressor had failed. He said their shop would contact LG about getting a repair estimate. We had purchased a 5 year warranty, but were 15 months out of coverage. Started to investigate if this was a common problem and lo and behold, we find there was a class action suit against LG for defective linear compressors. Our model was in the affected date range, however the settlement only covered 5 years after purchase for parts and labor. We are now waiting for a repair estimate. LG compressors are not reliable. Do your own research. These fridges are advertised as saving money, but when you spend over $2000 for a piece of junk that only lasted 6 years, do the math. They are not cheaper to own. We went shopping for a replacement and told the sales lady our experience with LG refrigerators and she commented that several of her customers had conveyed the same story about failed LG compressors. It is probably going to make more sense to just purchase a new refrigerator, given the cost of repair labor. Rest assured, it will not be LG or any other LG product in the future. LG is not Life is Good. It is Lucky Goldstar. Our luck ran out.

I bought a home and my builder put an LG fridge, and I was stuck with it. I’ve had it for almost three years now and it broke on July 2nd. I contacted LG to get it repaired. I flipped out on their Facebook social media page. They originally asked me for my phone number because they said they would figure out my check process. It’s back to working and I will enjoy it while it lasts.

I have owned a appliances for 38 years and I wished I had NEVER purchased LG! I had my doubts when I did purchase ALL LG appliances and I should have listen to my instincts! These are not low end LG products. The ice maker on the Refrigerator freezes up and quits making ice and I was only 1 month out of my full year warranty. They did not offer to fix it and I sure didnt allow them to come out to service our refrigerator because I didnt want to give them another dime. Well, now my top end washer is not spinning all the water out of the clothes and guess what... I am 5 months out of my full warranty. I called and they did the smart diagnoses and recommend they send out a repair person because they are not sure why it is happening. Do you think they would consider a service call for free??? Nope... This is the first time in 50+ years I have ever written a review. DONT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!

Ordered an LG fridge in December because its the only one that will fit in the space I have. Suppose to be delivered on Jan 19, 2019... The night before I got a call saying it wont be delivered because they dont have it. After many calls and the runaround I found out it was a system error and I will get my new fridge in a week. Still no fridge and still getting the runaround from customer service saying I shouldnt be calling them, Home Depot should... This is the worst company to deal with and I would love to return this fridge before it ever gets here. If it ever does! I am running a family of four and working full time with a beer fridge lent to me by Home Depot! Totally ridiculous, and very unacceptable. They are offering no compensation for my time or inconvenience of not having a fridge I ordered and paid for already!!!

I purchased my LG French Door Refrigerator in August of 2013. It worked great until earlier this week when it completely stopped cooling after only 2 1/2 years of use. I called LG and was sent to an overseas call center where someone reading from a script was quick to inform me that the 1 year warranty of my $2,000 appliance had expired. Not only did they not make any effort to help me, all they did was provide the names of two non-local companies who could service my appliance at my expense. I called the companies who would not travel to my home. I called LG back and they told me to find a repair person myself because they have no authorized repair people in my area. I did find a repair person to look at it and it was determined to be a sealed system failure which would be covered under my limited parts warranty. I called LG back and they have no one in my area that will work on a sealed system failure on their product. I have a completely useless product and no one to fix it. I paid $2000 for a refrigerator and I am storing my groceries in a cooler in my garage. I have never received such horrible customer service and I would strongly caution anyone considering an LG appliance to NOT do it! I will NEVER do business with this company again.

I bought this Sears Kenmore Elite French door fridge in late 2007 (Model 795.755.46401). Within a couple years (but out of warranty), lots of little things started to go bad. As others have mentioned, the plastic latches at the top of the doors broke, and then the latches for the tilt out vegetable drawer fronts broke, and then the slides on the drawers broke, and the hardware that supports the bottom shelf broke - etc. The whole interior is made of parts too flimsy to last for the useful life of a refrigerator. Then the front door water dispenser stopped working, and just recently the whole front display went out and the main compartment lost temperature control and started freezing everything. Im a handy guy (and an electronics engineer), so I ordered and replaced the main board and then the display board, as they were the obvious failure points. That didnt fix the problem, so I dug in deeper. It turns out that the wires inside the front left door that go up through the hinge have broken. I could deal with that if the failure was at an accessible point (at the hinge one would expect), but I eventually figured out that the wires have broken somewhere inside the door. The wires are apparently molded into the door and cannot be replaced, so I have a $2,000+ refrigerator crippled by a bad 10-cent piece of wire and an astonishingly stupid design that makes that wire part of a $400 door assembly.Like I said, I am a handy guy, so I routed a very thin and not too ugly replacement wire on the exterior of the door to replace the broken wire inside the door, and for now the fridge is back in business. Ill join the many posters in this blog who will steer clear of all LG appliances in the future.

I purchased my LG washer in January of this year and I couldnt be more disappointed! Im constantly getting the UE (unbalanced) code when it tries to spin so then it fills back up with water and tries to automatically rebalance itself - which never works - and what a huge waste of water!!! I have to stand over my washer and constantly rearrange my clothes numerous times until it works and sometimes it doesnt if the load is small. Actually you cant even do a small load in this machine due to this problem. I end up going old school and wringing out my clothes by hand! I so wish I had my old washer back as this is awful. I wouldnt recommend this washer to anyone.

Error message read - ER/1F on our LG refrigerator (model LFX31925ST) exactly 1 year and 1 month (1 year warranty) after we purchased it. We unplugged unit, then plugged it back in and the message went away. Freezer food was slightly thawing and ice maker wouldnt work. Everything would be fine for a couple months, then same ordeal. 2 years after purchase, we were issued a one time extended courtesy warranty and our local repairman replaced the grill assembly fan. Now we have an annoying, vibrating, noise. We just cant win with this poor purchase ($2200). WILL NEVER RECOMMEND AN LG REFRIGERATOR. We are currently registered in the class action suit.

To all of you that just brought your beautiful new LG refrigerators you must not have done any research. Because there thousands of dissatisfied customers with faulty refrigerators, compressors complaints and and on and on. I bought mine brand spanking new with French door and dual ice makers. Beautiful. It stopped working almost up to the date of when I bought it and no more warranty on the unit but there was one on the compressor but only for replacement. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. If I had known this would happen I would have never bought this piece of junk. Not only can you not get through to anyone to fix it. You have to pay for someone to come out and diagnose the problem that you already know what the problem is. Then you have to pay for the repairmen (who is contracted) to come out and install the compressor which according to other loyal consumers may or may not work. But only if you can find one to come AND keep his appointment. After many tries I decided to give up and get a new one. But I will never ever in my life buy another LG product. I knew their phones were crap. Because I had to have mine replaced three times. I am an iPhone user now. But do your research anyone that reads this. My unit was bought in March 2013. And it went out in April 2019. I knew I couldn’t have been the only one so I read and found that all of the people that bought theirs after mine complained. If I had read all of those complaints I wouldn’t have had to buy another refrigerator six years later. Please stay way from LG. Even when you do call for assistance the people that you speak to are rude and condescending (only if you need help. But not if they are getting something from you. Then you may be treated with respect. So STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY. Go to the proven manufacturer our parents used. GE WHIRLPOOL OR KENMORE OR FRIGIDAIRE. Thank you.

Always out of balance. Cannot wash a small load. Doing a bath robe? Better buy 10 of them so the machine is full otherwise it will not wash and will go out of balance. Have a blanket to wash? Sorry, you will need to wash every one of them in the house because the machine will go out of balance if you have fewer than 4-6 blankets. Forget about washing your bath mats with the waterproof, non-slip backing as those are not recommended to be washed in this washer. Just throw them out every week and buy new ones. Plan to spend hours every week staring into your washer waiting for it to go out of balance because if you do not babysit this machine, it will empty and refill, empty and refill, using hundreds of gallons of water in a futile attempt to rebalance the load. Would write more but my LG washer is out of balance again so I have to go.

I bought this very expensive refrigerator 3 years and have had nothing but problems. The first issues was the water line for the icemaker was leaking into the door, the entire icemaker and door needed to be replaced. (tons of black mold on the door that was removed). Then last year the compressor broke and needed to be replaced. Now the compressor is broken again and needs to be replaced. Purchased a new LG top loading washing machine from Home Depot Dec. 2011. The coating on the top of the machine at the bleach dispenser has disintegrated resulting in the metal rusting and flaking off. Occasionally, clothes are coming out with rust stain. I have contacted LG and have gotten no satisfaction from them. I was told the machine is out of warranty and that this is a cosmetic issue and there is nothing LG can do. Home Depots extended warranty also does not cover this problem. Apparently we purchased a washing machine that was not designed to operate and dispense bleach as one of its functions. This is an example of poor design and quality that a major company is not willing to recognize and offer the consumer assistance in correcting. We can get some comfort in the 10 year warranty on drive motor even though the machine wont last that long. Needless to say we will not purchase another LG product.

New 2018 LG set top load stacked set - $2500. Washer shakes at spin & dryer shakes because of it. There is something metal in the dryer slamming against metal when all of this occurs. LG won’t fix this — under warranty!!! This repair takes 2 hours - they want me to pay for this flaw. To top it off our clothes smell like a moldy wet dog - from a few months of owning I can smell my husbands “clean” t-shirt across the room. Oh yeah add vinegar, bleach, leave door open, drain the drain, buy expensive tablets to clean every week, run a clean cycle - and use tons of water doing that. Save water? Not now. LG Gas Range Knob Safety Issue - We recently purchased a 30 slide-in LG gas range and soon found out that it does not take much for the control knobs to be unintentionally rotated to the on position and start releasing gas without us noticing it. One has to lightly press each knob and the mechanical safety lock is immediately released which means the knob can be rotated unintentionally and Gas starts to be released. So far in the space of less than 3 weeks we have had at least three incidences when we did not know that the knobs were accidentally turned on (perhaps by people brushing by) and were only alerted by the smell of gas filling the kitchen. The Home Depot seems to have no return policy for major appliances but we shall be going back to our local store to see if they will make an exception and replace this range with another model. If they refuse to take it back, you will hear from me again.

I have an LG front load. It does not have an option to add more water and there is never any extra water in it other than what is on the clothes. As a result I have to wet the clothes down before I start the cycle and do a “rinse and spin” at the end of a full wash as the “extra rinse” does not utilize enough water to justify the electricity being used but the rinse and spin seems to have residual water in the drum. Even with minimal soap and fabric softener or using vinegar in the mid cycle the clothes still come out with a chemical smell to them. Yes I clean the machine regularly as it also has a problem with getting smelly quickly. Had to replace the sensor that creates the spin at year 6 but DIY as this is such a common problem and instructions found easily on the internet.

Bought a LG LFX25973ST French Door fridge 1/14 from Lowes. We went on a 2-week vacation last month and came home on a Thursday to a warm fridge/freezer. Dont know how long it had been off. It has a smart feature so I called LG and she ran me through the diagnostic, asked all the pertinent questions and since was out of warranty I could buy $275 package for fixing (parts/labor) the fridge with a 6-month warranty. She set up a repair appt for Tuesday, 5 days out. Very poor English, she was hard to understand. The guy came Tuesday and I knew I had a problem when he called the shop to ask what wires he needed to test. He was just the troubleshooter, could not fix the problem, a bad compressor. He had to go back to the shop and send LG the report, which he did, and we would hear from LG further instructions. Long story short 4 more days and no call from LG so we call them. We get major attitude. Very nasty woman tells us basically Youll just have to wait until can find a CERTIFIED tech. Day 11 we go to Lowes and buy a basic fridge for our garage. $400 thank you LG.Guy was great and looks up our original purchase of the broken fridge and says You bought an extended warranty. I know... dont laugh. So we canceled the LG contract (rate $100) and started working with Lowes. Much better service, English speaking CS people, $$ for lost food. Great, right? We get set up for a service call the next day. Ends up being a no call, no show. When we call them it ends up being the same business that LG sent out. We find out they cant fix a bad compressor. It must be a CERTIFIED tech. Closed system, dangerous gas, chance of fire. OMG.We live in Phoenix and there is just ONE certified tech in the whole metro area. They are 30 miles away and have a worse service record than LG. The customer reviews are horrible: poor work, no shows for service calls and rude employees. We are now on day 14 with a dead fridge in our kitchen. I always looked up reviews on performance of an appliance. Im now also now going to research repair and customer service. This is ridiculous that LG can hold a whole city hostage like this by not having more certified techs. I will add to this review as we progress, but Im not very optimistic. Im scared to death my other appliances, dishwasher, oven and microwave, never have a problem!

My 15 year old dryer never had a crack. So needless to say I am not too happy about spending more money to repair their poorly made product. I came home and smelled smoke, after a search finally found out why. Opened refrigerator to find the interior lights had not gone off when doors closed and melted the cover which was laying on food. Above the lights it is charred which was causing smoke. I am a state certified Fire Safety Inspector. How can this not be a fire hazard? All the reports I have read LG gives a generic explanation. Which is, our products are all tested and passed UL testing. Ive been a firefighter for over 30 years. If its smoking 100% chance its burning soon unless suppressed. LG model # LFX25960ST

I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice
I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice by Home Depot, making this the third unit to electrically fail with smoke coming from its internals after only a 45 second operating cycle. LG was contacted and initially stated that I would be responsible for taking the faulty unit to their authorized repair center in Chino Hills, Ca. - about 15 or 20 miles from my home - and pay for the repair.I informed them that I had taken the liberty of visiting this website and discovered that there appears to be some sort of electrical defect in their microwave considering the number of failures, the description of the failures and the short period of time between its purchase and the apparent electrical collapse of their product. In my experience, an item with a record this poor should be on some sort of safety recall list before it causes an injury or fire, but Ive not been advised of any such recall by either of the two customer service personnel I contacted during the course of our conversations on August 21, 2015.After being placed on hold for an eternity, and refusing to be blown off with what I can only describe as double speak, I informed the initial customer service person and the subsequent one that here in California there are regulations in place to protect consumers against abuses by big corporations with a bait and switch approach to consumer sales. According to this customer service contact, LG boasts their Magnetron has a 10 year warranty but to capitalize on this claim, the consumer must first pay for the labor involved which usually is a large portion of the initial cost of the unit!I have opened a claim or case # of ** with the assisting personnel who now report that there will be either a refund/credit or replacement within 6-8 weeks but they could not elaborate on which. In the interim, Im left without a microwave for the duration. If LG does the right thing, Ill report it, if not Ill provide that information as well.

I have only owned this LG for a couple years. I wish I had realized this before I made such a major purchase. Please note: My LG refrigerator Model LFX 25978ST/00 stopped working - first ice machine failed, then it broke and is not dispensing ice, then freezer and then finally entire fridge - lost all my food. Called an appliance repair and they charge you to look and then they take their sweet time to fix. Last time it took 1 month, this time 3 weeks before he can come and look. They are the worst service centers. Last year it was conclusion was the compressor was also failed. LG guarantees its compressor for 10 years, BUT, only deals with certain repair centers, so I was already out $200 and needed to call one of only two LG-affiliated centers in my area. One quoted me 500 for labor. Scheduling the repair could take up to 2-3 weeks. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against LG. I purchased a LG refrigerator and I am going to make it my life project to talk bad about service and this product. I am so shocked that this broke down two time in less than a year. Nobody wants to repair it. They all say LG is bad product in Fridge. I have kids and NO FRIDGE. I thought LG was one of the best, but NOW I AM do not think so. Repair people are not outstanding service providers and they dont do a great job as far as I can see. Model: LFX25976 ST/00, serial: 011KREL00716, compressor is the problem.

I really like this washer except sometimes I could not wash a lightweight quilt. The spin cycle would stay on 6 and it was too heavy for the washer to handle. And once the rubber that went around the inside of the machine came off and water spilled out all over the place and the repairman said that happened often.

I called customer service at LG. A woman helped me with the issue. She repeated what I told her in her own words. There were no problems understanding each other. She told me a technician would be calling me to set up an appointment. About one hour later a man from some company called me and wanted to know what the problem is. The young woman had told me she would explain to the technician. Anyway I explained it all again. He said This is the problem and started to repeat what I said EXCEPT he wasnt saying what I had the said. I tried three more times to explain the problem. He got angry (actually he wasnt happy when he called), he got me upset as I tried four times to explain the problem. I suggested we make an appointment… he said NO. I dont come out until I understand the problem. He said I will look at the manual and call you back. He did that… Lo and behold he STILL DID NOT UNDERSTAND. I then called LG back. The man (sounded like he was in India) said You have an appointment on the 8th of May. I told I knew nothing about an appointment. He said May I call the person that called you. I said Fine. Have not heard back. A few days ago my older son was at my house. He said Mom, be careful. I was turning on one of the front burners. He must have noticed the large flame. I never told either of my sons about the fact that my clothes have been singed when turning on the front burners. Just let something happen in my kitchen because of the stove and you know who will be sued big time...

I have an LG refrigerator that has the known compressor issue. It failed within 3 years. Customer service was difficult to deal with. They eventually shipped part & agreed partial payment for repairs. From The LG authorized repair list given nobody would come & repair it for months ahead. I finally found a repair service available. With the consent of LG customer services I did the repair for $650. Submitted a receipt & was only reimbursed $200. Yet LG in court said “labor covered for 5 years”. Now at 5.5 years the product failed again. I spoke with customer service. They stated as an “unauthorized repair service was used all warranty is void”. Yet they knew who I was going with for the repair, have a copy of the receipt on file & previously authorized a partial labor payment. What a slippery way to get out of liability for a known product design defect. Customer services then terminated the call. If this is the treatment you want if/when your product fails, which it most likely will if it has a Linear motor, you have been warned.

Purchased new Instaview French door refrigerator with CustomChill drawer, model LMXS30796D, on December 6, 2019. It was delivered the next day. As I was told by my salesperson that upon delivery I should inspect the refrigerator throughly before the delivery people bring it inside, I made sure two of us monitored the delivery the entire time. We were there from before they unboxed it from right off the to when they left and they did a beautiful job. So when I discovered a six inch scratch along the tom edge of the CustomChill Drawer later that night I was disappointed, but knew it was not as a result of the delivery. They very next day I contacted LG and they opened two case numbers (one was due to the CustomChill drawer sticking when you try to fully open it) and told me I wold be contacted within five business days. They said that in the meantime I could email the purchase receipt, delivery receipt and a photo. As I never received any communication from LG, on the fourth and fifth days I reached out to them again. The fifth day has come and gone and still nothing from LG on either issue. While I love the refrigerator, I am very disappointed in LG customer service. At this point in time I would be very apprehensive about purchasing LG again.

Gave me the number of LG. Told them my Washer was peeling and rust was falling on my clothes, They told me they do not cover manufacture defects and rust, and it is cosmetic. How can they say it is cosmetic if it is dropping rust on my clothes? They did offer to send out a tech to my house for a charge to order a new piece but I would have to pay for it. Purchased four door refrigerator in July of 2015. For the past few days it would not go below 50 degrees in the main compartment. Freezer only 25 degrees. As I am writing this the repairman is behind my fridge replacing the compressor. I had called the LG customer service and was on hold. Was hoping to use the “Smart Diagnosis” through the fancy transmitter on the fridge, but then received an instructional text. That did not help. Online search through LG repair site recommended a shop (Tip Top Repair, San Diego County) that supposedly would take care if it but they would not come out. I am now looking at a $1295 repair through ARC, repair being done as we speak.

Most of my family has LG refrigerators. We also enjoy the style that LG has that was why we went with them. We like the whole line, so we got the stove, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. I like the fridges French doors and the way they open up to allow us to access the extra-wide fridge without swinging the door all the way open. Also, it doesn’t take up so much room in the kitchen. LG did a phenomenal job, but I had some issues with the black stainless flaking off. A rep came out to replace the doors, and that was phenomenal. But when they replaced the doors, one side doesn’t shut on its own anymore unless I slam it. I’ve tried calling them back a number of times, but there was no response. That part was disappointing, but the product overall, when it’s set and adjusted right, is phenomenal.

This item had good ratings and suggestions directly to me from store associates and consumer ratings. Online there were very electorate reviews from multiple retailers and review websites about how this refrigerator, in general, was the best one that many of the spoken consumers had every previously owned. I like the water filter, cooling levels, storage space, stainless steal, and ice machine. Additionally, it has a wide breadth, lots of shelves, easy to clean interior and exterior, and good lighting inside the machine. Sound levels, height, and some leakage at the bottom occasionally. Otherwise, there is nothing else I notably dislike. I would improve the quickness of the ice making process for the ice maker machine, and I would also improve the noise levels for lower levels or whirring and shaking noises.

I registered a complaint at customer care (complaint number **) on 20-02-2012. As per the call center executive, somebody will call me within 24 hours and attend the problem within 72 hours. None of these happened even after 100 (one hundred) hours. I called customer care on 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th. Every time they said they will send a reminder. They gave me the contact number of service center in Alwaye and customer care officer. After trying for more than one hour (20-30 calls) both these numbers are not reachable/not answering.

I tried to make sure doors were sealing fine, they were. I called LG. They said it might of done an auto defrost. I was told to unplug it and it would reset it that temp would return to normal in 12 hours. We woke up the next day to a flooded floor. All food in freezer was defrosted. Refrigerator was at 65*. I did the smart diagnosis again. It said it was fine. Called LG and sent them the diagnosis and they said to unplug and wait 6 hours. I lost all food and temp Kept dropping. I was told to put food in coolers. Most was trashed. I was told they could send a repair person in 2 weeks!!! I did the best I could with food in coolers but lost it all. LG was not helpful.A repair person came out earlier than quoted and it seemed to be working (known compressor failure) yet now temp is plummeting again. At this point I just want a full refund to buy a new non LG fridge. I’m hoping temp increases, yet I just emptied ice so hopefully if it fails it won’t ruin my new floor. I just bought food to replace the food lost. I have no other fridge at my home. 4 days and it’s not working again. Reading all these reviews makes me sad that this brand is allowed to sell these products and hold hard working families like mine hostage.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator from Home Depot and it was delivered and installed on 05/25/2016. It has worked great up until 01/24/2020 when it no longer kept food frozen or cold. Followed troubleshooting guide in owners manual, still did not work. Called LG on 01/25/2020 as the unit is under warranty and it took 5 days before repairman (45 miles away) could check the unit. Upon testing on 1/29, he found that the compressor and dryer went bad. It has now been 2 weeks and finally all parts are in, but repair facilities 1st opening is on Friday 2/14. That means 22 days of dining out for meals, which is not cheap. So, if you decide to purchase an LG refrigerator, I suggest you purchase a back up or you will lose in my case, a months worth of food.

Fairly new front loader, LG wm2801hwa, opened its door mid-cycle. I had a flooded kitchen and laundry room. When it was discovered, the machine was observed to continuously flooding water out of its (then open) front door. The water valves had to be closed and the machine had to be unplugged. LG was contacted directly and a service man was sent out. The D.G. Appliance representative indicated that the machine had an assortment of problems, including the main controller. The machine even flooded the kitchen and laundry room again, as the payment for the service call was being processed, for he left the valves on after his inspection.I consider this machine new since it was purchesed about a year and a half ago. I expected LG to step up to the plate here and provide a reasonable response. The door on a front loader should never open like that. Much property damage was avoided only by luck in discovering the flood in time, and diverting the water away from wood and carpeted areas. I followed up with D.G. later that afternoon and learned that they didnt bother reporting the problem to LG. I called LG (again) and found no relief, since the machine was out of warranty.

At less than 2 year of age my LG top-load washer malfunctioned and flooded my house. According to the washer repairman their assembly was such that the washer pressure sensor hose was wrapped around an arm and the vibration caused it to come loose, resulting in the washers inability to sense the water level - so it just kept filling. Not only did LG not stand behind my nearly new washer, this machine is pure junk. I know to watch and check that hose frequently although I can say its never had another issue with the assembly correction. Problem is it just doesnt clean. The water level varies such between loads that I always stand there to make sure enough water flows in to actual get all the items wet. I realize one of the so-called features is less water usage....but seriously if they dont get wet, its hard to clean. I noticed my whites and bright colors look dingy after a few washes, so I started watch closely - this is how I discovered the water issue. I now wash my clothes 2-3 times to get them clean enough...thats sad. I HATE this LG and will never purchase another of their products.

I purchased an LG LRE30451 In 2006. No problems until recently. The stove would not turn off. You had to either be able to 1. Pull the electrical cord from the wall or 2. Turn off the circuit breaker to get it to turn off. At that time I was not aware of the recall on the stove. The next day, you would get burners that would not come on or you could not control the temperature. I found that there is a factory recall for these ranges for this very problem and that they are a fire hazard. I contacted LG and they told me that it would be 3 to 5 business days for them to get back to me. (Meanwhile you can not to use the stove because of the fire hazard). On the 5th day afternoon, still no contact so I called them. I was told that there were no notes in my file and that they would get someone on it immediately. After numerous calls back and forth I was told they made me an appointment for repair. This was 2 weeks out. They did not even check to see if I was available or not and could not give me time. I asked for the number for the repair facility they made the appointment with and after several calls back to LG they gave me a good number. This repair facility A & E Factory Service stated that they only do service in my area on Thursday and Friday. Someone had to be home from 8 am to 5 pm. Do they not realize people have to work? When I told them no one would be home, they suggested I contact LG to get someone else. Thus yet another call to LG. I was told they could do nothing else that this was the only repair facility in my area. I told them this was unacceptable and I wanted to speak to a supervisor.Well they put a guy named Cortell on the phone. This was as useless as the last bunch I spoke with. He proceeds to tell me that basically it was not his problem I was not available and that they could start the whole process over looking for a different repair facility. Now, I was already told, This was the only repair facility in my area. When I advised him of what I was told prior he stated that I was told incorrect information. I asked how long it would take and he said just to locate a facility was another 3 to 5 days. You’re kidding right. Remember, cannot use the stove due to the fire hazard... When I asked him if LG was going to pay for my husband and I to eat out he stated no. When I told him I would continue to use the stove and if my house burns down it will be LGs problem. He then told me if I continued to use the stove knowing it is defective, it would be on me not them. Needless to say, they expect me to go approximately 1 month without cooking! When I told him they could just replace the stove he stated, We are not going to do that, your model is from 2006. Now just like other people stated you normally have a stove that lasts 20 years before it goes bad. LG products do not last and when you do have an issue their customer service is horrible and they do not care! I am still waiting for the second round to start.

Plastic pieces broke within a month, resulting in failure of performance, i.e., faulty freezer drawer, sliding shelves, etc. Good thing theres an alarm for open doors because they never shut without some force. No Stars. Dont buy LG or dont buy it from HH Gregg. They must buy wholesale merchandise that didnt pass manufacturing standards. I bought and replaced the same item in less than six years. They might work for as much as a year or little longer, hence their strong encouragement to buy additional warranties. Same model. Two refrigerators; Two failures; loss of two refrigerators/freezers full of food. First time: Told to wait a few hours for it to cool; then overnight for it to cool. It didnt. Had to wait a weekend before another (same model) was delivered. Four years later that one has stopped being cold.Only repairs offered were to replace the compressor if that had failed to work. All other costs were mine. Including $150 round trip for the lone LG certified technician in my area willing to work on my LG fridge to come from 50 miles away. THEN, diagnostic fees before problem is determined. IF it was the compressor those have a 10 year warranty. Repairmen say theyd have to order the $800 compressor then come out again ($150 travel) to install.Customer service is located in Manilla. They are only authorized to refer me to several repairmen but would only replace the actual compressor - nothing else, not even food loss. Im living on a small fixed income after retirement becoming disabled. Often spending time away in hospital each year. It has been months summer since Ive had use of the refrigerator. I live alone and have a tiny fridge in my bedroom for when I cant use the stairs. This has been a nuisance and a costly one at that. Be warned.

The knobs are way too sensitive, so whenever anyone brushes past them, even slightly and without the knob pushed in, the stove top turns on and you wouldnt even notice until its too late. Very dangerous. Someone else in my family has a gas LG range and this happens to them all the time as well, so I wouldnt be surprised if a lot of other people have this issue. My LG dryer is leaking gas from somewhere and I had the gas company come out to isolate that the issue isnt with the gas line or connection. He confirmed something is wrong with the dryer, marked it a fire hazard, and unplugged it. Furthermore, we had our dryer duct cleaned to remove the possibility that it was a blocked vent. The gas issue still exists. Was on the phone with LG for at least over an hour trying to come to some resolution. The hallmark response from them was unfortunately you are outside the 1 year warranty. The issue Im having has nothing to do with warranty and is a SAFETY and potential recall issue which they obviously didnt want to address, stating that enough people need to call in and report this issue before we issue a recall. What makes the issue so dangerous is that GAS is leaking somewhere and LG is unwilling to even send someone out as a courtesy to check. Whats worse is that there could be MANY customers out there with this problem who dont even know it or think its a big deal (we thought it was normal until we had the Gas company check it a few months later on my wifes intuition). If enough gas leaks and something ignites it, that could mean a blow-out of the dryer or worse yet potential injury via explosion or fire. Its obvious LG cares very little about the safety of their customers, especially when they keep implying these kinds of things are warranty related issues. This is major neglect IMHO. If there are ever any incidents in future related to LG and gas leaks, this shouldnt come as a surprise to anyone and it certainly wont for me. This is the last time Ill be getting a set of LG appliances... thats for sure. Ive only had this set for five years too.

We purchased an LG front loading washer and dryer in February 2010 at Best Buy. Recently the mother board went out on the DLE2350W dryer ($350 replacement cost) only to find out that in Canada, LG warranties this item for three years and in the United States only 1 year. After visiting with the recommended LG repair service, we have found that this is a common problem and can go out even after one year.I have reviewed several blogs that have customer reviews and found a common theme in that LG has very poor post-sale product service. Im safe to say we will not buy another LG product and will recommend to others not to as well. We have always had excellent service from Sears and will return to them once again. I purchased an LG Model# LFX33975st Refridgerator from Lowes September 2004. I paid 2748.60 for it and also purchased the Lowes extended warranty. That is a whole different issue. This fridge never cooled like it should from the day I bought it. I would hear weird noises from time to time, several times the freezer would start to thaw out. At first, I thought my wife had too much stuff in it but that wasnt the problem. Then it would start working again. A lot of food would spoil in this fridge. Well, it finally quit cooling altogether and we lost all of the food both in the fridge and freezer. I called Lowes as I had an extended warranty and I also contacted LG. LG sent a new compressor and the wrong filter drier and scheduled the service facility to come out and make the repair. The repairman came out and found a leak in the fridge evaporator. He ordered the new part, he came out to make the repair. Now, this is going on for 3 weeks. 48 Hrs later the freezer is working but the fridge is not. So after doing a little research online, it is clear that LG has major issues with their compressors and other components that they are aware of and there are several class action lawsuits against them. I have all LG appliances in my house as the salesman at the store told me how good the LG products are. I am very sorry I purchased these products and will never buy another appliance from LG or Lowes.

We are an LG household. Washer, dryer, and refrigerators. Our main kitchen refrigerator, a 2016 model, stopped working in July 2019. First failure. LG send out their authorized repair technician who came and changed the compressor. It worked for about 2 weeks and died. That was the second failure. LG sent out another technician who said the previous technician had done an incomplete repair, he said he completed it, and left. The refrigerator worked for a few more days, then died again. That was the third failure. The fridge has now been non-functional for over a week, and the repairman is not scheduled to come for another week. It is not good to send repairmen who are unable to perform a satisfactory repair the first time around, not to speak of the extreme inconvenience of losing three refrigerators worth of food (from three failures in the span of a month). Looking back, I would have much preferred a replacement machine after the first machine failed, or a refund after the second failure. We are now on the third failure and not thinking good thoughts of the LG refrigerator company.

My LG fridge isnt even 3 years old. The compressor has gone out 2 times. Not even a month between breaking twice. The matching stove broke 2 days between each other. I will never buy LG again or if their parts are used in another brand. Ill make sure to do my research on my next purchase. Hundreds of dollars lost in food each time. This is ridiculous! LG should be offering consumers their money back. I dont want a fridge that will keep breaking. I want to buy from another company but unfortunately I live paycheck to paycheck and had to save for this garbage.

One of the dangerous times was when I woke up in the middle of the night smelling gas. The knob on the stove for the burner had turned on slightly without my knowledge. The whole house was filled with gas. This happens frequently but I am normally aware of it when it happens. Any time I lean against the stove or I am trying to clean it, the knobs turn on. This would be EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WITH PETS OR SMALL CHILDREN.

This is about my front-loading washer. For some reason it ties the clothes in knots all around each other. And it doesnt put enough water in the tub. Sometimes a load of clothes is still dry in the centre when I take it out. Since its the water that cleans and your soap just helps the water, this makes the washer ineffective and difficult to use. My last front loader did neither of these things, but I was told that the quality of that brand had declined so went with LG, as Id had good experiences with some of their other products. BAH!!

I replaced the drum in the dryer 3 times (split twice), and they are coming again to try to correct the heating problem. It takes more than 90 minutes to dry a normal load. Ice develops under the freezer part of this refrigerator (LFX28968ST) which is 4 years old. I have to chip the ice out. My sister also has a LG french door refrigerator that is 2 years older. She also has this problem. When calling LG to see if I could have my tech fix it I was told the only solution was to have a certified LG repair person come to my home. Customer service at LG had no idea what I was talking about. In a search online I found how to fix the issue and also read this is a common issue with LG french door refrigerators. $1,200 estimate from an authorized LG repair person made me rethink buying another LG product. I will fix it myself and do more research on companies that stand behind their products.

I have only owned it for two years but Im very happy... it was a gift so I did not have an opportunity to shop for it. But I believe in the integrity of the LG brand over some of the other offerings. I have been happy with the design of the stainless steel unit and how it blends in to my kitchen with other stainless steel appliances. I enjoyed the design of the refrigerator freezer and its many compliments. The deli drawer perfect for small items like yogurt containers and cheese and deli. Had to rearrange the shelving to allow for taller items like milk, juice, ice tea etc. though. I would also improve the freezer compartments with additional shelving.

Purchased a new LG Steam dryer-DLEX3370W and washer in June 2018. Within 2 months of purchasing the dryer would not come on. Interior light would come on but electronic panel lights would not, so it is a bad board. Called LG for warranty service. Never received another call from them ever. Service repairman came 3+ weeks later with a front panel plastic part, knowing the dryer would not turn on. He threw the part in the box and stated LG sent him the wrong part. I stated I knew he orders parts not LG. LG confirmed this also. Said he would order a board and be back another day. I filed a complaint with him due to him lying about the part along with him not even opening the dryer to diagnose the problem. I have called LG every few days for 3 months now regarding the status. I am told pending. They asked for receipt of the purchase, I uploaded it to my claim. Then 2 weeks later asked for it again, uploaded it. Never in 3 months has anyone from LG called me to let me know the status. They refuse to give anything in writing also. This dryer has a lawsuit against LG due to the stream drawer and a house fire. After 10 weeks we finally purchase a new dryer and expect they would reimburse us due to not being able to find another repair company to come out to our area. They asked me to upload the receipt, I did, along with our Governors state of emergency in our county due to flooding in Texas, I did that also as asked. Today, 11/8/18, I called and spoke with a Supervisor in Executive Services who was not customer friendly, stated the claim had been denied last month! No notification, nothing! I asked for the address to send a small claims notification letter. LG Legal Dept, PO Box 24007, Huntsville, AL 35813. We will be filing a suit not honoring the warranty of a 2 month old dryer. FYI, a lawsuit was filed for a house fire due to the steam drawer.

purchased april of 2014. 2 days ago refrigeration quit working (both freezer & refrigerator). Called LG customer service, individual I was put in touch with spoke very poor english, would not or could not help, was told it was basically my problem because the warranty of 12 months had expired. After making numerous calls to try someone who works on LG (another problem in itself) I called back to LG customer service. This time I had an individual who spoke understandable english. When I explained my problem we started the same song & dance routine that I went through earlier. Finally he told me I would have to call their service tech. He gave me the # for a company in pa. (I live in ohio about 25 miles from the pa state line). I told him that they would not drive that far, but I called them & they said they dont service ohio.I now have a sears tech coming to look @ refrigerator next week. Absolutely fed up with LG customer service department & their products (entire kitchen is LG appliances). Will never purchase another LG product as long as I live. This might seem like a long complaint, but I feel that everyone should know that the way youre treated when shopping for their appliances sure is not the way you are treated after you purchase them.

I have been loading home dishwashers for over sixty years and my LGF7774 is the worst, and I must say, nearly impossible to load effectively. Because it doesn’t seem to be designed for actual dishes, it takes longer to load, as I have to move things around constantly to get them where they will actually get clean. The top rack areas for glasses seems to be slanted wrong and are the wrong width. As a result the glasses often fall over and break as I’m closing the tray. The bottom rack is even more frustrating. Those prongs that flop down to accommodate (what?), pans perhaps, may have seemed like a good idea to some engineer, but in use they plop down whether you want them to or not. The bottom of the lower rack could also use some redesigning. I have many square dishes and have to be over-cautious about seeing that the corners don’t extend downward where they will interfere with the spray arm.The dishes washed appear to be clean, but don’t smell clean. I’m asking the world of manufacturers, “If the user has to rewash things, or wash them before using a machine, how much water and electricity is that saving? And if I cover the food-left-on smell with a scented rinse does that make the dishes cleaner?” In fairness I must add that I just discovered that it has an extra rinse cycle and am at the moment trying that one out.

LG LMV1680ST - We bought this range hood/microwave 1 1/2 to 2 yrs ago from (I believe) Home Depot and didnt have any extended warranty, so we arent looking to have it replaced or fixed. Yes its VERY loud, its cheaply constructed of plastic and like so many others, the handle broke and the frame cracked on the top corner. We are going to get a normal range hood and bring my Panasonic Inverter (7 yrs old counter top version) up from down stairs. We just want to inform the consumer of a serious defect. Last night, my daughter made popcorn and when it was done, she pulled it out closed the door and walked away. I had the useless fan running because I was baking so she didnt hear that, when she closed the door, it was still running. Probably 10 to 15 mins later, my niece noticed flashes of light coming from the inside and smoke from underneath. My husband had to run downstairs and flip the circuit to turn it off. Not a good thing at all, when your daughter opens the door and it continues to run and doesnt trip the circuit on its own. Ive included pics but in case they dont post, the glass turntable actually started to melt, there are burn marks on the bottom, inside the microwave and the plastic turntable wheels are melted to the bottom. On the outside underneath the micro, there are also god awful burns. Its frightening to think of what would have happened if it started on its own and no one was home. I havent read all the reviews on your site, but there are many others that have had this problem and reported on other review sites. I just need to get the word out about this very DANGEROUS flaw.

Purchased this new LG LFX31925ST for $3500 from BestBuy July 2013 and now 14 months later the freezer and fridge compartments are warm and the unit sounds like a garbage disposal. Called BestBuy. They said they have no Geek Squad service in my area 15 mile from both Bestbuy locations in my upstate NY location. So contacted LG customer service several times to get a repair for this unit. Unplugged the Refrigerator for 12 hours, plug back in and it was quiet and cooling till 10 hours later when the noise is back but seems to be still cooling. Did a bunch of troubleshooting over the phone with no definitive solution. Called back this morning to LG to explain to them the current situation and requested a service call. Mentioned to them that the service center listed on their repair website did not return any of my 3 phone calls yesterday. So they gave me another service center that they were going to electronically dispatch. This was several hours ago now and no contact from them. Dont buy LG Appliances!

Its a terrible design flaw. Rust is on the hinges where no chlorine or detergent goes. I have pictures... Paint will not help. The entire under part of the area above the bin but connected to the place where you put detergent or bleach is completely rusted out and the metal is so bad. I can stick my finger through it. They sent me an email... that the rust in your washing machine bleach dispenser is a result of the detergent or other additives being spilled that have not been wiped clean. Chlorine bleach is corrosive and will erode the finish if not cleaned immediately. If any spills should happen make sure to wipe it up immediately and the area cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth. Touch-up paint maybe use to cover the area, if not service may be necessary. How could LG design a washing machine that uses bleach and detergent knowing full well that it might get on areas besides the stainless bin and get under this area and all around the entire top of the machine and rust out. That is what happened.

LG Washer WT1101CW - Terrible washing machine. If you buy this washer, dont expect to wash a small, medium, or large size load in a reasonable time period. Constant uE errors, tub fills with more water to try to adjust, etc. Or, we just get the uE error and have to run down the stairs to rearrange the clothes. Regardless of how careful we are with loading/arranging the wash, what type of wash we put in, etc, we have constant uE errors. It can take up to 4 hours to do one medium size load. Ive since read that the control panel may be faulty? We have a tech coming this week. There may be a software update needed? Who knew? (How would I know this! I didnt get any kind of message saying that the software was out of date! ) This will be the 4th tech visit this year. In addition, just for ** and giggles, we decided to do a tub clean cycle. You guessed it. uE error! So, obviously, if the washer cant even function to do a tub clean with JUST WATER in it, theres something wrong with this product. Dont buy it. You WILL be sorry. Im sorry that I cant give zero stars in this review!

I bought an LG top loading washing machine with direct drive a couple of years back. Perhaps a year later, I began to regularly get UE error messages (uneven load) which would stop the cycle. I would have to open the door, try to redistribute the wet laundry and then restart the cycle. Sometimes multiple times for 1 load. It would often TAKE LITERALLY 3-5 HOURS to do a single load of laundry!!! Sometimes, the machine will try to correct the idiotic error by automatically refilling the tub with water... I guess in an effort to redistribute the load. This never works. The machine has gotten progressively worse with this UE issue to the point that now it stops on 80-90% of the cycles! I often end up having to stand by the machine during the spin cycle until it either stops and gives the error message or begins to refill the tub, then I have to turn off the machine and put the soaking wet clothes into the dryer. As I write this, it is 11 pm and I just put a soaking wet load of laundry that started at 630 pm into the dryer. It doesnt matter if I put in a tiny load or a big load. It doesnt matter if I adjust the spin speed to low or medium. It still gives the UE error on most of the loads. Whats more, the machine has a spin only option - one might think that this means spin only. Nope. Ive tried selecting that option to empty the tub after several UE errors, but it will inevitably start filling with water again. How spin only turns into filling the tub with water is beyond me. Absolutely ridiculous. This machine is supposed to be energy efficient, but It Wastes energy by running and re-running for hours on end, WASTES WATER BY SENSELESSLY REFILLING FOR NO REASON AND WASTES ITS OWNERS VALUABLE TIME. WASTE OF MONEY! Do NOT buy LG Top load washer!!!

My very nice LG (big freezer on the bottom) has a computer that lasted 5 1/2 years and Ive been told that thats pretty good for an LG. The service people (two different companies) hate to work on this brand because of the difficulties in understanding the pamphlets/instruction on how to fix them. The two companies I called for help each asked me some pertinent information about my problem and after answering them, both told me the same thing.... The motherboard has died, just like that. I had really liked the fridge until it simply stopped working, even though over the years it made some strange noises and I had trouble with the automatic ice maker. I love the size of the freezer and the fact that its on the bottom. But none of that helps when the thing decides to quit. My problem is that this one replaced (in Feb 2009) a Coldspot that we purchased in 1977!!!! Really! Yes, we had to put in a new compressor in 1991, but what service that thing gave over the years!! To find a silver lining, I guess I have to look at it from the viewpoint that the cost of the LG ($1200) came to spending a little more than $200 a year for its service, which is small enough. Next time I buy a fridge, Ill stick to the old standby names!!
