First time in over 40 years, I changed name brand. Sorry, sorry, sorry. Hate this new washer and dryer. Settings on washer are not convenient. Yes, there are a lot of settings but not all are necessary. I also have had to iron so many things that never were ironed before. Everything is in a ball in the dryer and makes for tons of wrinkles. Can I just say I hate this new modern washer and dryer?

I have an LG front load washing machine that has pretty much stopped working after exactly 18 months. The drum no longer spins and there never was an error code displayed. I called the service department and we were unable to troubleshoot it over the phone. He referred me to the one and only LG repair service in Cincinnati for repairs. The parts are (maybe) covered, but not the labor. Just for the service to come out is $80. Unbelievable! We loved this machine initially. It wasnt three months though before we started to notice that not only were our clothes not getting clean, but they smelled horrible. We have to run bleach regularly and use vinegar with every load. This is truly some kind of racket they are running. What happened to the old dependable appliances that lasted 10+ years? I guess you cant make money if the machines last so long they dont need to be replaced.

LG DIRECT DRIVE 7 KG F1292QDP25 - I bought the washing machine in Dubai and shipped to India. It worked hardly 50 hrs and started malfunctioning. A service request was logged thru a Dealer in Kerala and the Mechanic attended the case promptly. He confirmed the Electronic Control Board was damaged and it was why the program were not running properly. I spoke to the local service manager and he confirmed that warranty could not be given for the machines purchased outside India. However, asked him to order the part but, he could not get “any response from LG for the last two months. As the machine stopped working I contacted the local Distributor in Dubai last week but, they also did not keep stock. For getting the Part from Korea they wanted me to pay Dh.650 which is almost half the cost of a new machine.

We bought an LG refrigerator 3 years ago. It stopped cooling. The repairman said that LG would provide a compressor but would not pay for labor, which could be from $600-$1100. He suggested that we cut our losses and purchase a different brand. Neither LG nor Lowes, where we purchased the refrigerator, were concerned that we lost a refrigerator full of food and had paid a lot of money for a product that was now worthless. Lowes corporation is aware of the problems with LG but continue to sell them. When I expressed my frustration, a Lowes employee said we should have bought their warranty.

Here I find myself reporting ANOTHER problem with our LG refrigerator that cost almost $3000. Its the three door with the freezer door on the bottom and is supposed to be wonderful because it has a linear something or other. The freezer compressor lasted just over one year. The labor warranty had expired and the compressor was covered. It still cost me $450 for the repair. Now, about one year later, the freezer has stopped working two more times with all the frozen food thawing. Curiously, after the food thaws, the motor starts working again. This happened to me again today. Fortunately, I have an old reliable Kenmore backup in the garage. I think that LG does not deserve another customer. Expect problems from them if you dare buy one. They should definitely be OOB. OUT OF BUSINESS!

I was cleaning my refrigerator. The glass that covers the crisper drawers shattered. It was terrifying. When I called LG, they refused to replace the glass because I had purchased the refrigerator 13 months prior. It was out of warranty. I find this unacceptable. Fortunately, I was not injured by the glass, but I will never buy an LG product again and I will discourage everyone I know from purchasing a LG product also.

Purchased on July 2016. Stopped cooling on June 15th. Seems like after reading other reviews, mine is not so different. Compressor goes out and service call takes 2 1/2 weeks to fix. So LG built a bunch of refrigerators that last only three years. Wow, I have a Kitchen Aid that is still going after 19 years. Let’s see Canada or Korea. Would not buy ever again. Customer service horrible. Said they wanted feedback and haven’t heard a peep from them since.

I bought a (3 french door) refrig 4 yrs ago...and absolutely loved it. Bought another one (4 door) in July. One top door shuts & shakes the whole refrig. Delivery people said they cant level it (in my new house). They brought out another one...same thing. Other top door wont shut without physically making it happen...a push just doesnt work & door stays open. He said there is a break on the door that keeps it from shutting automatically. Not at all happy as my insulin got too warm & then it is no good after 28 days. At $500+ a vial...I hate this frig!!! Also bought an LG washer & dryer I loved years ago. This dryer - even with steam & wrinkle cycle leaves all my clothes a wrinkled mess. Have to either line dry or iron things I never had to before. Loved my old LG...HATE this one. Quality has definitely gone to the dogs at LG!

I chose LG because of the price and the amount of shelves options for water and ice dispensing and more. Also I think the salesperson did an awesome job at telling the features on the fridge. I dislike the amount of money it adds onto my bill at the end of the month though. Also I do not like how the steel on the fridge is super easy to scratch. But I like the amount of ice dispenser options it has including cubed crushed and some others. In addition I like the taste of the water because of its awesome filtration system.

I bought top of the line dryer from LG. I wanted a Kenmore, but was talked out of it at the store by an expert salesman. I’ve had nothing but problems with it ever since this time. It doesn’t dry clothes, sensors all go off and now I’ve contacted LG, they sent Callahan’s repair, they said I needed a part. I waited a week and then they cancelled the appt. I now am waiting for an “outbound” segment of LG to contact me to try and get a new company to fix the problem. This is while being placed on hold for at least an hour. Very disappointed in LG and will never buy their products again!

I bought my LG French Door Refrigerator in December of 2014. It cost over $3000 and I was told by the salesman at Home Depot how GREAT the linear Compressor is. I noticed on Sunday that the ice was melted and the temperature was rising. I found my LG information and called Customer service. I was told the earliest they could come out was 4 days later. They also told me that he could not uninstall the fridge. It had to be moved out of its slot so he could access it, and it had to be unplugged. I was also told that the compressor was under warranty, but the replacement would be 375-425 PLUS state tax. Well, after 4 days, I had to throw away all the food that was inside. Probably another $200/300. The guy came out and told me that he would order the parts, but my cell service was bad so he couldnt tell me if they even had the compressor in stock. He told me they would come out the next day, unless the part isnt available. Which, reading the forum, looks like its 5 weeks out. Terrible product. The Sad thing is, that Im a Realtor. I have caused at least 5 or 6 clients and friends to buy an LG fridge because, the compressor has a 10 year warranty... as if that does any good. Im a single Mom, and I feel like I have to earn my money twice. Once to kill it and bring it home, and again to make sure it doesnt fly out the window. Im angry, Frustrated, and defeated.

We had bought an LG television which was our first LG purchase. Then I was at Lowe’s one day and needed a new refrigerator. We ended up purchasing the LG French door refrigerator in a little over four years ago and I loved it. It was everything I expected until the compressor went out. It took four weeks to get it fixed which was a long time. There are two ice makers. One in the door and one in the bottom drawer. We noticed that it wasn’t making ice. At first, it was still cold, but over a couple of days it stopped keeping things frozen. A couple of days after that, nothing was cold in the refrigerator.I called the number that’s inside the refrigerator and they wanted to know the details of when I purchased it and did I have proof of purchase. I’m not sure how that worked between LG and the people that came out but they had to contact a rep and she said, “We don’t have a rep in your area.” Someone else called me and scheduled. They said it would be a week. Then I called back and they said they had to reschedule because they didn’t have an LG repairman in Alabama. They were gonna have to get a certified LG repairman to come and fix it. They had me describe what the unit did. They were able to determine that it was probably the compressor and they sent the parts. About two weeks after we got the part, the LG repairman came from Georgia and fixed the refrigerator. I haven’t had any issues with it since the gentleman fixed it but I probably wouldn’t buy any LG refrigerator again.

I purchased a LG 6.3 cu. ft. slide-In ELECTRIC Range with ProBake Convection and EasyClean from Costco in 2018 for around $1300. I dont use the range a lot (maybe 8-10 times a month). During the warranty period, 2 burners were not heating properly and the oven was always between 50-75 degrees under where is was set. Under the warranty the 2 burners were replaced, but the technician was not able to figure out why the oven was not heating properly. We tried adjusting the temperate settings using the ovens setting feature with no real results. The month following the end extended warranty, I used the self-cleaning function on the oven which blew the thermal fuse. This was a $300 repair for parts and service call. Last night, the oven just quit working 10 minutes in to cooking a $170 prime rib roast for Christmas dinner after the temperature was turned up to 475 degrees. I might guess it is the thermal fuse again. Yes, the oven is now 4 years old, but it has never functioned properly since the day I purchased it, and it has gotten very little use. I would expect so much more from an $1800 appliance!

Surprise, I too have a loud thumping dryer drum & visible crack in the drum seal. I called LG. Initially, the representative said, Oh, this is a known problem and there is a recall. Called back with the serial # and surprise, the known recall now requires a receipt, which I dont have 7 or so years later, and LG insists its required to make the recall fix. Is that legal? Do recalls require a receipt. This is the second LG product that has gone bad on me at my expense and NO more. LG is not a good life and I would not opt for their products ever again because as other commenters below stated, their customer service is bad. I plan to call the MA consumer products division tomorrow to confirm if a receipt is necessary for a recall, assuming there is a recall on the product as the first CS agent told me this morning. LGs products are NOT worth the hassle they put their customer through....

Then you call for a service place to look at it and they want to charge $90 just to show up which forces most people to trying to figure it out on their own. We have decided to buy another refrigerator because we dont feel comfortable relying on this lg piece of garbage. The right thing to do would be to refund us for the refrigerator and replace the hundreds of dollars worth of food we have had to trash no once but twice. I do not recommend their products to anyone.

My husband purchased this set less than 5 years ago. Our clothes smell horrible, like mold and mildew. We have tried the tub clean cycle on the washing machine, have bought products designed to clean the washer, and we leave the door and detergent drawer wide open when not in use to try to keep mold from growing. Absolutely nothing works! I contacted LG customer support and they said I had to get someone to service it. Why should I pay someone to do what I have already tried? There is nothing they can do that we havent already attempted. Like others have noted, the thing also will not stay level. My washer is on a top floor and it sounds like an earthquake when the spin cycle is going. The dryer is no better. The clothes are rarely even close to dry when it stops and I have to continuously keep running it for multiple cycles to get them to dry. I should have just kept my top loading Maytag instead of wasting a lot of money on this piece of junk. I never had to buy products to clean out mold and mildew from the top loading Maytag, much less pay someone to service it.

While we were impressed with this refrigerator with its Converta drawer and smart styling inside and out, we have been nothing but disappointed in the quality of this product. Extremely disappointed in the product and the customer service. We purchased this fridge in April/11 and it was delivered in June/11. In July/11, the Converta drawer stopped working and as the fridge was under store warranty. It was replaced with a second fridge same model, in Sept/11. Two weeks after delivery, the freezer drawer on this fridge malfunctioned causing it to open and immediately close without remaining open to remove food items. (Freezer drawer opens when a button is pushed). This fridge was returned and in Oct/11, we received our third fridge of this model. Since Oct/11, this fridge is awaiting its fourth compressor, in 2.5 years. We have been without a fully functioning fridge for most of the lifespan of this fridge. Repair people are unfamiliar with the technology in this fridge, however according to the Sears technicians in conjunction with the LG technicians this fridge is repairable. My question is why does this this fridge always require a compressor annually? Fortunately we purchased an extended warranty on this appliance because I am told the replacement cost of the compressor is approximately $1000.00 plus applicable charges, tax, labor, etc. I regret this purchase immensely mostly because when the warranty expires in 1.5 years, this fridge will be in a landfill site somewhere, sadly.

Buyer Beware!! I cannot give even one star to this product, but the review requires I select one. Purchased a $2200 LG French Door refrigerator from Home Depot on 9/13/2016. Purchased an additional 3 year extended warranty as well. On 10/27/2019, my ice maker wasnt making ice. Reset the ice maker but to no avail. Freezer food began to thaw and refrigerator temperature began to rise. After multiple calls to LG, I was given two names of authorized repair centers. One doesnt service my area. The other came after 3 days, opened back of fridge and confirmed the compressor issue and closed it back up stating they wont do warranty work on LG compressors and if I found someone to do it, my cost could be very expensive. He stated that the Linear compressors are a piece of junk and if repaired, I may get one year if Im lucky. Told me to take it out back and burn it. He stated LG makes inferior products and to steer clear. Now Im out $2200 and looking for another refrigerator. I know Im walking past any LG product. There is a class action lawsuit regarding the defective compressors.

LG LFX25971ST Refrigerator. Biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased. And, LG has the absolute worst customer service, ever. I decided to replace my spec house cheap refrigerator with a very, very nice one. I had always bought cheap ones in the past. In 2009, I spent over $2500 on this refrigerator and after 7 years and 2 months, the very cheap and chintzy compressor went out on it. This is well over a $1000 to fix. They knew their compressors were junk, so they replaced the rotary compressor with a linear compressor a year after I bought this thing. Now, I have to decide whether or not to dump $1000+ into this one or get a new one. If I get a new one, I will be throwing away a beautiful looking, fancy, worthless $2500 frig. Note - I bought the cheapest side by side (Admiral brand - Montgomery Wards) frig I could find back in 1997. That frig is still running. I bought a spec house with the cheapest GE frig in it, and that one is still running. The newest, nicest, most expensive appliance I have every purchased is dead. As a door nail. And, LGs local service stinks, too. I asked them how much the compressor would cost me and they said around $600. I found them online all day for $200-300. I sent a note to LG (mind you, you cannot contact the company directly. They have a call center in Romania, I think...) and they could care less. I got the most patronizing note I have ever a received. I will never, ever, ever, buy anything LG. Look at the reviews on this site. Look at the class action lawsuits against them. Dont go by the reviews on their site. They edit them. Worst company making the worst appliances, ever. And. make note, that they make a majority of Kenmore Appliances, as well.

Dont buy an LG refrigerator! I paid too much attention to the breakdown of the refrigerator, and it has been a month and a half since it broke, but it is still the same. I used it so far with a 20% discount on the LMXS28626S in June 2018. When I opened the freezer around the end of January this year, everything was melted. I called the LG Customer Center and changed the compressor on February 10, and it broke two days after fixing it. I called the repairman who came last time and came in a hurry. After checking, he said that he couldnt fix it.. There was a leak somewhere inside, but he couldnt find it. He contacted the repair center and said they would fix it. There was no contact even after waiting. When I called the customer center, they said that I had to talk to a repairman at the site, and that he would send the repairman again. And 10 days later, I finally got the case number... When I called the customer service center a few days later, I used it for almost 3 years, so I subtracted what I used and gave a refund. I got a 20% discount, so I couldnt buy the same refrigerator with that money, so I asked for a full refund if I would give it a refund. He said there was no such thing in company regulations. I would use the refrigerator for more than 10 years if it wasnt broken. What does it mean for you to make such a product, and the consumer will suffer the loss?? They tell me to clean up the broken refrigerator. Its not in company rules... Your company lost more customers because of me.

I have been a follower of Consumers Reports for many years. When my 11 yr. old Electrolux started making noises I figured it was time to look for a new refrigerator. I was very happy with the French Dr. Electrolux so I chose to look for similar replacement. I went to Consumer Reports and found that it rated the LG LFXS28S96S/04 as the best French Door available. On 11-2-2021 I purchased one from Costco. I was very happy with most of the features, until it started making ice. Within a few days the door ice maker would not drop any ice. Upon checking I found that the ice in the small door ice maker were clumped together. Reading the instructions I had to break the clumps so the ice would come down the chute. In thirty years I had never encountered such a problem. I have a fifteen year old Maytag still working and prior to that a Sears which never gave me any problems with the ice maker. I cannot understand how Consumer Reports would have given the LG such high reviews that testing an actual use of the unit would have shown the problems with the door ice maker. I saw later that other consumers of the LG refrigerators have experience the same problems I did.

I own an LG washer, model wm2050cw, and it is a piece of junk. I bought it for $598.00 from Home Depot on 3-15-10. After 8 months, it started to leak. Its not just a small leak, it filled the whole laundry room floor not once but 3 times. The repairman LG sent blamed it on me. He said I was using too much detergent and told me to only use 1 tsp. I did and the thing still leaked and my clothes were not clean. The repairman eventually replaced a mushroom shaped gasket that he admitted was a design flaw and that LG had no intention of fixing. Now, the machine is 18 months old. And everything comes out smelling awful, especially towels and washcloths. I have done everything LG says to do - leaving the door open, pulling out the detergent tray, running the clean cycle, using less detergent, etc. but nothing helps. I now have to buy another washer because I cant stand it any longer. My previous washer was a plain GE front load and it never gave me one problem. I sold it because it was old. I wish I had it back. LG needs to be run out of town!

With the knobs that havent broken off, you dont know if gas is on or off. Definitely, its a safety concern and Im sick and tired of family getting sick from gas exposure. I have a 7-month-old baby and need action taken before I do.

After just 1.5 years, my dishwasher control panel developed a large crack that is preventing it from starting. This is a known problem with LG dishwashers. I was shocked that LG would not authorize a replacement panel. Their view is that this is my problem and I am on my own. I had purchased a suite of appliances and feel they should provide better customer service.

I purchased a LG refrigerator Lfc25760st from Home Depot. Within 1st year the plastic parts inside were cracking and falling apart. It started with the wheels popping off the drawers like they were nothing. I called only to have them accuse me of being extremely rough with my new refrigerator. Then said I had to get someone out there to look at it. Guess what? I live 2 hours from the nearest service dept. So Id have to pay for that, mind you its still under warranty at that point. I call and find out Ill have to pay the 50.00 and 0.35 per mile of which LG will not reimburse me. So, I just skip it because at that point the drawers still side out without the elcheapo made wheels. Then everything else begins to crack and break. So I call again.Im so mad because they will not help me and its now 100% clear that its LGs fault this is happening. I have my old GE side by side that is 20 years old, been through teenagers, young kids and moving 3 times. Its still running and the insides are great. Not the LG!! My drawers all falling in! The rails have cracked and the drawers fronts are even cracking off. Never has there been such a completely uncaring company that is unwilling to rectify problems that are obviously their fault. Its time for a class action law suit. They went cheap on production for these refrigerators and we the consumer trusted this company to produce a quality appliance. I now walk away from everything LG and Im not the only one.So much for wanting a nice stainless french door refrigerator for my kitchen. I have contacted the company over 6 times and get nothing but run around. I even tried to get them to at least give me some type of discount on all the parts that are broken that should not be. It will be well over 400.00 to replace all the broken parts not including shipping. I have talked to other people that the exact same thing happened with them. LG also told them they have never heard of these problems before. Gave them the exact same run around. They replace their insides only to have them all break again. Im done. Its lawyer time.

In 2003, we purchased an LG refrigerator. Its top of the line. Immediately after, the ice maker got jammed. Getting ice out is a big problem. Now, 7 years later, the water line is splitting. It ruined our wood floor. It happened because water is seeping. My husband tried to fix it, but the line kept splitting. The LG customer service person said that because my husband didnt save the piece he tried to replace it with, they couldnt help us. We had to shut off our water line to the fridge. So, we have no ice or water. And our very expensive flooring is ruined. We have gotten runaround from the company. And now, she says shes on vacation for weeks.

We purchased a LG Washer and Dryer on March 26th 2011. On September 23rd 2011, the Washer (WT5101HW) created a very large bang and on inspection, we found the washer had rotated more then 100 degrees on itself, luckily not tearing the water lines from the connections. The top portion of the machine, lid and control panel, were no longer connected to the main chassis and were lying to one side. The drum was not on any of its mounts and the side panels around the drum were all pushed out, as if there had been an internal explosion. I now have two significant holes in the dry wall walls on either side of the unit and the thought that if any of my children were in the vicinity when this happened, they could have experienced serious injury or worse. We are in the process of working with LG on this issue but after reading the list of complaints about LGs lack of customer support, I am not optimistic of a satisfactory resolution.

Called the customer service many times come to fix it but always no show and keep telling me reschedule because of too many case. I was lost count how many time waiting for the technician come to fix my refrigerator. My family and me still suffering with this issue almost 2 months but they even didnt send anyone come to check the refrigerator. The worst things I facing is talk to technician. They very rude when I ask them why no show. My opinion - bad quality, bad after sales service, and not worth for money!

LGLRFC21760ST - Numerous calls to retailer and independent repairmen re: water spilling out from freezer and unto floor (It has ruined the hardwood floor in kitchen area) since purchase in 2005. Have paid lots in labor and parts over the years, they all do something different than the last guy..... and it keeps leaking. Called again and repairman said, You should have called us earlier. Really???? How many times do I have to call - and pay - to get it fixed? Now read that many others have experienced the same problem, but I have never been advised that it was a common issue with this fridge. Guy today said he would check to see if there were any bulletins issued on this matter for LG. Are those bulletins available to the public? Really, really frustrated after seven years with this problem. And now likely a very expensive bill. Plastic bins have also broken and will be replaced - poor design said the repairman - but that is the least of my problems.

7 year-old LDF7810ST (with very little use until recently) gave LE code. Replaced motor & since old part was riveted shut, husband drilled it open to take a look: what a mess. This must have been a defective part from the beginning and ultimately made a terrible grinding noise like it was chewing up silverware, however, it was just the motor grinding itself into pieces. Re-assembled & still wouldnt operate. He checked wiring & voltages, only to find that the noise filter has a 120V black wire and white wire coming in one end of the filter and coming out the white wire is 120V. He cant figure out how this ran in the first place, but has anyone else noted this problem? Do we throw good money after bad & keep trying to fix this sad excuse for a dishwasher?

We bought our LG fridge from Best Buy about 4 years ago. Earlier this week our compressor stopped working. We lost the entire freezer and fridge of food. After calling the company and spending more than one hour on the phone they scheduled an appointment for me within 2 days and told me not to worry. It was under warranty. I waited home all day on the scheduled appointment from 12-5 and no one came. When I called the company supposedly coming, they told me they had no record of an appointment at my home. Upon calling LG back they said sorry this appointment was never actually confirmed but since everyone is closed, you call some service providers and we will pay them if they can come. No one will come, they all laugh at me and tell me that LG will never pay them and that it will take upwards of 8 weeks to even get an appointment with them. Ive now called LG back two more times, they made an appointment, confirmed an appointment and subsequently when calling that service company, they report they never received that confirmation so again they did not show up. This will be my 5th phone call upwards of 60 minutes on each and all they can offer me is $250 for loss of food. They are not willing to offer anything else to help out with possibly going 8 weeks without a fridge. To say this is disappointing is a huge understatement. I will never buy another LG appliance.

We purchased a counter-depth LG French Door unit from Lowes about 5 years ago with a 3-year service agreement. Because LG doesnt make as many counter depth compared to standard depth, it cost more (~$3000). Cosmetically and storage-wise, we were quite happy with it, but early in the first year we noticed that ice was building up behind the left bottom storage drawer. Lowes repairman replaced the entire rear fan/control unit, explaining that if we didnt have the service contract it would have cost us about $500.Unfortunately 2-more service calls by 2 different organizations were required in the first 3-years --- all for the same ice problem! We then purchased a 1-year extension for the service agreement because it was obvious that our $3000 fridge had a problem no one seemed to be able to fix. We were correct, because we had more ice in that year.Numerous calls and emails to LG and Lowes during these 5-years got us little more than asking for more and more details about previous repairs. They also referred us to someone to repair it. They all tried, replacing more pieces and parts. Finally, a few months ago when ice again recurred we spent $90 for another LG expert to review our issue. They told us LG had issued some sort of bulletin about this problem, and for another $500 for the part, plus labor, they could fix it. At this point we had already spent at least $750 and dozens of hours trying to fix a $3000 fridge and had no confidence anyone could repair it properly, so this afternoon our new Frigidaire will be installed and the LG hauled away; and Im writing this review. I bought my brand new LG fridge in 2008 because it had a lot of room inside. After a couple of months, Ive been having problems since; there were issues after issues. First, it was the ice maker that I needed fixed then it was the fuse. After that, it was the French doors that rubbed against each other so I couldnt close it. Then it was the side vent inside the fridge. Now, its my compressor thats not working; that’s what the service guy told me yesterday. Its on but it’s just blowing hot air inside the fridge and freezer. An LG fridge is not cheap to buy, but it is cheaply made! This LG fridge has caused me so much down time and headache from the day I bought it!

Have only had the fridge for just over 5 years, and already the compressor has failed. Came home to water all over the floor. All the food in the freezer had to be tossed. Tried calling LGs 800 number, and I got Craige, their automated whatever you want to call it. When go through his questions, you get disconnected. Tried calling 4 times to actually speak to someone, and every time got Craige. I guess LGs great Linear Compressor has a 10 year warranty, but Im looking at over $500 to have it put in as only the part will be covered. I wish I had read reviews about this horrible compressor when I was purchasing this fridge, as I would never have bought it. But Im like so many others and will have to get it fixed since it cost so much money only 5 years ago. Just sad LG cant make a reliable product. What makes me mad is they know about their failing compressors and arent doing anything about it with their so called valued customers.

When my ancient Whirlpool washer finally died in the fall of 2012, we decided it was time for an upgrade. My partner found a good deal via a big-box retailer for an LG washer and dryer... good stuff, right? From day one, the dryer has been nothing but an albatross around our necks. Almost immediately it begin to fail after only a few uses. The rather abrupt LG technicians kept stating that our venting system was to blame. We cleaned it carefully and still had problems. Finally, an independent technician suggested we route the vent directly to the outside, which we did. Never mind the built-in vent system worked adequately with our old dryer... Well play the game. Finally, the dryer seemed to work well.Recently, my daughter was preparing to dry her clothes and noted that one of the electrical breakers had flipped due to the dryer activation. We re-flipped the breaker and the dryer was activated but did not dry. Nothing like a little midnight unloading of wet clothes and rigging a temporary clothesline, eh? Of course, we contacted LG and received the standard line Did you check your vent? We did receive a technician referral but of course no service call until Monday, so we experienced a pioneer lifestyle with our clothing needs for the weekend. No real problem, just a hassle. The friendly technician spent approximately five minutes finding the problem, a burned wiring harness. Yep, parts to be ordered and over $300.00 in repairs. The technician remarked that it is wise to stay away from LG, Samsung, and Kenmore appliances as they contain substandard parts. He didnt have to tell me twice. Ill fix this thing, of course. And then Ill go shopping for a good AMERICAN brand like I should have done in the first place. Moral of the story, STAY AWAY FROM LG!

Im not typically a person who takes the time to write reviews, but felt it was necessary to at least call out the so many wrongs with this product and the service that follows... IN CASE IT HAPPENS TO YOU. I read the reviews and saw some of the complaints about frost build up and thought, eh it wont happen to me... WRONG. Not only was I wrong, but during COVID-19, sending a tech inside your home to fix a problem with a fridge that is LGs poor quality performance is frustrating enough, BUT having that same problem occur again 24 hours later - NOT ACCEPTABLE. LGs only recommendation is to send a tech out again. HOME DEPOT is not held blameless in this either. Instead of standing by their customer and offering an exchange/refund, they explain that its an LG problem, not Home Depot. AWFUL. A day after the frost build up still hadnt been fixed, a grinding noise began, the plastic that divides the two doors broke off, and the error message showed up and wouldnt reset. To this day I have an error message on my fridge, a loud grinding noise and a frost build up freezer that doesnt work. My food goes bad earlier and earlier each week. LG said all they can do is send a tech out. I have a son with an autoimmune disease. I refuse to have more techs come to the house during this pandemic. LG has zero understanding of peoples rights and needs during this time. The answer is lets send a technician out on a work day to work on the same exact problem that they never fixed in the first place!! This is just a snippet of the issues, not to mention, their customer service EXECUTIVE lead member hanging up on me after I waited over an hour due to call volume. RUDE! Nightmare purchase, poor quality fridge that breaks down a month after you buy it... The worst customer service for both Home Depot and LG.

We purchased LG washer WT5070VC and LG dryer DLEX5170W in November 2012. Total cost new at Home Depot was $1400. They are both broken and cost of repair is $700. I contacted LG this morning and spent three hours on the phone with them. They did several diagnostic tests over the phone. They offered nothing. They did try to set me up with a local repairman and could not find one. We contacted Home Depot on our own and paid $97 for their diagnostician to come out. His price for repairs is the $700 mentioned above for a washing machine clutch and assembly as well as the dryer vent blower. These are both minor repairs and will still have this gross total to fix. Will never purchase LG again and plan to discourage others from buying as well. If there is anything I can do to further contact LG, please let me know. I have sent an email to their customer service dept following my phone call with customer service and diagnostics this morning.

I purchased an LG washer and dryer from Home Depot about 18 months ago. I got their top model at the time top loading. After about 15 months I noticed the paint around bleach dispenser beginning to bubble up and so I removed the blue tray only to find machine has been rusting. I thought perhaps its because when pouring bleach we sometimes get it between the plastic and machine. Then when looking under, I noticed the entire machine has massive rust buildup to where its flaking and falling on the plastic edges of the drum. After contacting LG about this issue they pretty much said Im out of warranty and oh well. At the rate of the rust Im guessing another 2 years and metal clips / screws will pretty much break during a spin cycle and nothing I can do about it except share this troubling issue to save someone else thousands of dollars on LGs poorly protected product against moisture. That 10 year warranty sticker is such a gimmick since these wont make it past 5 years with the crazy rust buildup. I did some research online and found that many other users have gone through the same frustration. I hope all the negative reviews will get LG to better insulate metal surfaces in their machines. Even my car comes with 10 year 100,000 mile warranty against rust yet washer has no rust warranty?

Updated on 02/06/2019: THIS IS AN UPDATE TO A PREVIOUS POST. We strongly do not recommend buying the LG gas oven/range model LSG4513ST due to quality issues. We also strongly do not recommend buying the LG gas oven/range from Lowes due to poor repair service, and the lack of good faith to honor the purchased extended warranty. We purchased a LG oven/range, LG refrigerator, and Bosch dishwasher from Lowes for our kitchen remodel, including a Lowes 5 year extended warranty. Our LG oven/range was installed April 2017, and we immediately observed that the control panel would signal the oven had achieved programmed temperature, but bake or broil items were undercooked. We observed the control panel would signal the temperature had been reached in about 5-10 minutes, but the oven interior took about 45 minutes to reach temperature. The LG service technician in October 2017 stated that the oven/range function was normal. In October 2018, the oven/range began turning itself off after being programmed for bake or broil. Lowes service has made five service calls during November and December 2018, without fixing the problem. Lowes notified us that our extended warranty was invalid after four service calls. The extended warranty was confirmed valid after we threatened legal action. On January 28 2019, Lowes Service phoned and indicated the oven was to be replaced. On Feb 1, 2019, Lowes Service reversed their position and decided to schedule a repair appointment for Feb 7. We have not had a functioning oven for four months.Original review: We purchased an LG LSG4513ST gas oven in Nov 2016. We do not recommend the oven. The oven has never functioned correctly. We purchased the oven from Lowe’s with a 5 year extended warranty. We have had numerous service calls without success. The oven will not stay on after programming.

I have had nothing but trouble with my LG fridge (model LFC2525765ST). Ive had the same problem over and over since purchasing it in 2011. Well sort of, it started off with a blown bulb in the fridge. Then...well. They come out, fix it, then something else. The temperature keeps dropping and I keep losing my food. LG will not replace the fridge and I keep losing food. Their $250.00 check does not replace all that I have lost or what I have to spend on take-out while they diagnose the same problem again and again and then have to wait for them to order new parts, then set up a new date to come in and fix it. What is my relief when this company comes in to (seemingly) rebuild my fridge? Shouldnt they have to replace it when they have to keep repairing a 3-year-old fridge? I have a warranty and believe me, Ive needed it practically every year Ive had it. Somebody please help me with this, Im tired of losing my food. Im tired of wondering if I will have something to eat when I open the fridge door. With this current incident, its been going on since the beginning of January 2015. And the problem still hasnt been resolved. They put in a new part and the repair charge (not to me) was $335.32. It started working then it stopped and that weekend, so called the company again but cancelled because it started working again. A repairman called me and said give it 24 to 48 hrs to regulate itself (this was a Monday, I called on that Friday before but cancelled on I believe that Sunday). Then it happened again on a Thursday (Thursday seems to be the day of breakdowns). I called for repair service on Friday and as usual, had to wait until Monday for service to be set up. They always end the call with,We are here for you 24/7, but how? Since they cant do anything on a weekend. And I was told they would put in an emergency call for me. I expected someone to come on Monday but no, they called to set up an appointment on Monday. So had to wait again. Who knows what the next part will cost that is coming in on 2/16/15. Oh yeah, this is the same problem from January. This is the third time Ive had to shop, but I buy a little at a time now because I lost all my food from the last two shopping trips thinking the problem had been resolved (silly me). I had already sent in a food loss form. Dont think Ill be reimbursed for the last two mistakes I made buying food. I asked for another food loss form but still waiting. And Im waiting to hear about the one I already turned in. Wow... Oh, by the way, the first time they delivered my fridge, they had to take it back and bring another one because it was defective. Should have taken a hint then. It was purchased from HHGregg BRANDYWINE PKWY 19803 on 11/08/2011.

My new large capacity LG washer model WM8000HVA does not spin out water ninety percent or more of the time regardless of the size or type of load. The machine was purchased on 07-08-14 and delivered at the end of August 2014. I started having problems with the machine not spinning out from the first use. I had three service visits and at the 3rd visit LG technicians suggested that the service tech replace the hall sensor and main computer. They subsequently decided to replace the machine with a new one and the same problem continued. I have had two service appointments on the replacement machine and on the second visit the LG technician replaced the main computer and the hall sensor on 06-10-15 but this did not resolve the problem. I had a medium load in the washer when the tech showed up and the machine would not spin out displaying a UE error code. After replacing the computer and sensor it still did not spin out displaying the same error code so the technician suggested that I take out more than half the clothes and then the machine spin out in three separate loads from what was originally a medium load. I inquired why this is and he informed that the machine was not really designed to wash loads above a certain size or weight. I then inquired why would one buy a large capacity washer that could not wash large loads including comforters and he said he understood. I later called LG Executive office and spoke to ** and informed her that this machine was defective and unsuitable for my needs. She initially said they would not allow a return but then later informed that she would research further and contact me by Friday 06-05. I have not heard back from her or anyone in her office to date.I would like to add that this machine was purchased to replace LG model WM2277H which is a 4.0 CU. FT. Washer which I had for over ten years and was able to wash larger loads in than the new machine with no problems and it still works. The new WM8000HVA is advertised as a 5.2 cu. ft. mega capacity washer. I would like to have LG reclaim this washer and issue a full refund because the service/repair options have been exhausted and the machine is not working as it should which indicate there is an un-repairable defect.

LG Washer WT5001C - This washer was recommended by Home Depot. I had no idea it was a Korean made machine. I was told it was a GE brand that had great reviews. Shame on me for not checking. Luckily I purchased the 4 year extended warranty. It is by far the WORST machine I have ever had. I have had repeated service because it is never in balance and ALWAYS take over 90 minutes to do a simple load. I have been told, I put too few items in the machine. Next service call told I put too many clothes in the machine, next service call I was told I didnt know how to load a machine. Seriously I have been washing clothes for over 35 years! Finally a good local service company was assigned to come out and they replaced the Core control board and the Display board. NO CHANGE. Finally called again for warranty service only to find out there is a major part recall on many of the models so if you havent checked you might want to. Of course finding someone authorized by LG to come out is the next joke. Their service departments are as bad as their washers. This is simply a poorly built product that should be totally recalled and no longer sold. Major retailers should be ashamed selling this to consumers. There is no doubt I will be donating this machine as soon as I get close to the expiration of the extended warranty. I would gladly participate in a class action against this company.

LG Lifes Good? LG - Laundrys Grubby - Just like everyone else, I am incredibly frustrated with my top-loading LG WT4801CW clothes washer (purchased from Home Depot). I spend more time and money redoing many loads of clothes because they just do not get clean and sometimes a streak of dirt is left on the clothes, so back to rewashing the same small load of clothes again and again. (There goes the water economy function of the washer down the drain). And my washer is also starting to smell (great). Based on everyones reviews, the machine should be breaking soon and at that point, I will give it the boot out of my laundry room.

After two fires and repeated calls to the LG company, I finally found someone who was able to point out that many LG ranges can be locked when not in use to prevent easy turn on on the elements. Page 24 of the owners manual says to press and hold the CLOCK button for 3 seconds to lock. If you have children or a tall dog (my dog has turned the stove on twice) it is a MUST to lock it.

I had purchased a Sears Kenmore Fridge model #795.74023.411 in August 2015. Sears had recently gone out of business here in Canada. This fridge had cost almost $3000.00 and was manufactured by LG. I had contacted LG who suggested a LG certified service person. Service person attended and I was told that the compressor was broken and that the cost to fix this fridge was $900.00. I had called LG several times and they keep telling me the same thing. We are not covering this part under warranty because this is the agreement we had with Sears. I had also tried escalating this within LG and each person I talk to theres no point of escalating it further because theyre going to tell you the same thing. I asked LG if its normal for a $3000 fridge to only last 2 1/2 years and they stated it must be defective. Yet LG manufactured this defective fridge and they keep using the demise of Sears as an excuse to not cover this. I feel that the customer service and policies at LG are pathetic. I have now been without a fridge for almost 6 weeks as I cannot afford to pay $900 to fix this, nor do I feel I should have to. LGs customer service is pathetic and their products are garbage. Stay clear of LG.

I just bought my Double Electric Convection Oven range in late December 2021. The flat-top keeps on getting damaged after I use it. I had it replaced once and when it happened with the second top, I called LG and they said all they can do is replace the flat top again. I have had a flat top for many years and know what to do as far as pans, and not sliding the cookware, etc. The customer service representative kept on stating it was my fault and it was scratched. It wasnt scratched because I didnt do anything wrong with the pans. They told me at customer service all they could do was replace it again. I think that there is a defect with the flat tops because my old flat top didnt do what these flat tops are doing. I am upset with the product because I thought I finally got a convection oven that would cook right and it doesnt.

While we were away our LG refrigerator, LMXS30776D/02 model, compressor quit working. We lost all our food in freezer and refrigerator compartments. Our home and refrigerator has a horrific smell, I havent been able to neutralize. (Baking soda, vanilla, and coffee beans.) A technician came to our home a few days later and was not able to repair the refrigerator. Since LG knew it had an ongoing problem with the compressor, it was discontinued. Technician from LG had to order a universal compressor. Once the part is installed, he then needs to check for leaks since coils may be corroded. We have been buying ice everyday for our cooler and can only buy enough for for the day. Inconvenience. Sad we replaced all our appliances 3 years ago for LG. Poor reliability and service for an appliance costing $2800. I am very concerned about another failure in the universal compressor after reading the previous reviews. LG had a poor response and was not acting in good faith to loyal customers. This is a major investment for families, not to be taken lightly.

Did I also mention my matching LG stainless microwave died after less than three years? I purchased the pricey LG French Door Refrigerator back in June of 2013 and have had NOTHING but problems. The ice maker jammed constantly and leaked out onto the floor. The bottom freezer compartment stops randomly, spoiling all the contents. I have had repair folks out three times now. And LG is of no help. They now tell me that they will not cover anything because I am past warranty.I am so disappointed in their (lack of) any customer service. They do NOT make it right and I HIGHLY warn anyone from purchasing an LG appliance. I am now working through my credit card company to try to get some repairs covered or hopefully a replacement. A few years ago I purchased new appliances. A refrigerator, stove and over the range microwave. I had an appliance technician that LG had the fewest repair calls so I went with that company when purchasing. Well in the first year the microwave had to be repaired. The glass stop stove after a year and a half has 2 burners not working and now my refrigerator decided to stop working during the worst time possible. I called the warranty company and because of the pandemic they are not doing any house repairs. I was told to think out of the box or go buy a new one. Now I do have an old refrigerator in the garage but with 8 people living in my home that is not enough room, especially when we need to stock up so we dont go out as often. So for now I am SOL until the virus is over and repair people can start working again. I will NEVER BUY LG appliances again and tell all of our friends the same thing.

Bought a LG French door refrigerator April 2012. Within 8 months if you use the ice dispenser, it would not stop dispensing ice without jiggling the dispenser. Call LG, they sent someone who brought the wrong part because the person did not understand the problem that I told them about. The repair person said he had to order a new part and it would take a couple of weeks. About three weeks later, I receive a phone call from LG stating that instead of fixing the ice maker they were going to replace the whole refrigerator. That should have been the first sign of trouble. I said ok. They said I need to send them the serial name plate on the inside. I said ok but why. “Well we dont want the refrigerator back, but we dont want any serial numbers on this to void all warranty.” I guess this is because if I sell it I cant claim to have a warranty for it. That’s fine, Im getting a new refrigerator. Mistake number 1. They are going to call me with a date and time. Finally someone else calls to set up delivery and tells me the date and that this refrigerator is only going to have a warranty of 90 days and they are not going to set up the new refrigerator. Mistake number 2. I thought only a couple of months left on this refrigerator, get a new with a couple of extra months. I agreed with this and the people brought in anyways. Now with the new, 8 month later, I now have the error message 1f. I you are thinking about this refrigerator or LG products, stay away. Customer service is rude and thoughtless when it comes to your problem. They have a serious problem with this product and are not willing to fix it.

I researched the problem and several sites suggested the smell was because it was new and would go away in time. Ten months later, its as bad as ever! My daughter has Down syndrome and doesnt concern herself with the oven. No matter where she is in the house, within minutes of me turning on the oven, she literally goes into a gag mode. Im not sure what one more negative review will do for LGs image problem with its refrigerators. However you would think that as the reviews pile up and pile up that at some point the company might start dealing with the fallout and consumer dissatisfaction. My model is (rather was) a french door type with bottom freezer. While Ive had it the interior light bulb melted its plastic cover, Ive had the ice maker replaced twice, and the thermostat assembly has gone twice. Some on warranty and some not. The second time I decided to cut my losses (tons of food lost) and no comfort that the problems would end and replace my fridge. In these days of sustainability thinking however I remain upset with this company and the crappy product I bought. Thing is the glitzy outer casing looks brand new. What a shame.

I purchased 4 brand new LG appliances for our daughter when they moved into their new home. She immediately noticed a problem with the range. The knobs on this model are along the front of the stove and they can be turned on very easily. I was there one day and walked past and barely brushed against a knob and turned the element on.This has happened several times. Even the family dog has turned it on. So far there have been two fires as a result of this issue. One caused damage to their LG range hood/microwave and upper cabinets. This stove is dangerous and they should not be allowed to sell it. We have contacted LG several times. They had scheduled an in-home visit to see the issue but never showed up. We have still not received a satisfactory response. The latest response was to keep the children out of the kitchen. The children are the only ones that havent accidentally turned it on.

We purchased our $3,000 fridge at Sears in 2016 before they went out of business. While it is a Kenmore sold by Sears, it is actually a fridge built by LG for Sears. So the fridge is basically 4 years old and the freezer has stopped working. With Sears bankruptcy, I have no warranty. I understand that, but LG is unable to provide a qualified service agent that is still in business. All service agents I have called have indicated that LG is proprietary and I need a LG technician. Totally unacceptable. Besides the service issue, breakdown so quickly is a problem. Weve had it almost a year, the problem was evident from the start; at times the washer would NEVER stop. The first call to LG service said there were no faults in the machine (over the phone code reading) just out of balance load. BUT we were told NEVER put pants AND shirts in the machine together! Err, WHAT!? The second call we were told we were out of the service area, funny; we had asked that from Home Depot BEFORE we bought it. But after a few emails to LG they did find someone and he came out and replaced the computer. Now the machine does finish the load IF and only IF its happy and in a good mood. Balance is really critical and it tries for a long time to rebalance it before giving up. I dont believe there is anything wrong with the washer at this point, it is just a BAD design, STAY AWAY. And the warranty department doesnt really give a damn.

Two days later, the repairman came, and said I needed a new electronic board. He said he would place the order, and the part would be dropped shipped to my home. When it arrives, Im supposed to call them. This is to schedule for them to put it in, and the first available date is in eight days! Who can go without a refrigerator for eight days? We purchased an LG WT4970CW washing machine in August 2014 from Best Buy. Shortly after using it, I noticed some of laundry would be dry on top, especially sheets. Sheets would be pulled tightly across top of drum and be completely dry - obviously were not touched by water and detergent. Then, on subsequent loads, the machine kept giving error message: UE which means the load is out of balance. Machine shuts off in middle of cycle and you have to open the lid, pull the laundry out and rearrange it, close lid and machine turns on again. However, during one load, this happened up to six times and it took me four hours to complete one load of laundry. I dont stand by the machine while it is doing its job, so when I would expect the laundry to be done, I would go to my basement only to see the UE displayed which meant it wasnt finished.I had a repair person come to my home last week (10/2018). He called and spoke with an LG technical support person. He explained the problem and was told I was doing the laundry incorrectly. The LG agent told him I have to wash only like items at one time. In other words, if I have a load of jeans, tee shirts, polo shirts, mens underwear, socks, I need to sort the clothes and wash the jeans separate from the shirts, separate from the underwear and socks!!! The machine goes out of balance almost every time I wash two bath towels, one hand towel, and one washcloth along with a nightgown and some underwear. The LG agent said I should only be washing towels (up to six bath towels) at one time and nothing else. This is not how REALITY works! It would take me a full day to do the equivalent of two loads of laundry. It would also defeat the purpose of the water-conserving feature of these new machines. I would need to do six tiny loads of laundry in place of my normal two loads. Also, I do not have enough clothing to wait until I have a full load of just underwear so it is a normal-sized load. I dont even have enough pants and shirts to wait until I have a full load of just pants to wash. This machine is only 4-1/2 years old and I have to replace it. I also bought the extended warranty, but was only offered a one-year extension for parts only. Of course, the warranty expired in August 2016.The repair person said there were no parts to replace or would make sense to replace, because the cost of the repair would be almost the cost of a new machine with no guarantee it would fix the problem. He told me my complaints are very common complaints he has heard over and over from his customers regarding their LG machines. The repairperson highly recommended I buy a Speed Queen TR7000 which works almost the same way my 35-year-old Maytag washer worked and it comes with a seven-year materials and labor warranty. Cant wait to give the LG machine the heave-ho and get the Speed Queen machine! I will never buy ANY LG product as long as I live.

In September of 2012, I purchased the 31 CF capacity LG French door refrigerator with the ice maker in the door. Right away, water leaked out onto my tiled floor. The store manager actually came out and fixed it for me; he replaced a faulty part, and no more leak. Then, when we would set the freezer temp to -2 degrees F, the panel would light up with error codes, and the water and ice dispenser wouldnt work. LG service said not to set freezer below 0 as it causes the mother board to freeze up. Had to unplug it for six hours, to reset it. ??? Why have settings if you cant use them? Went along fine, but ice cubes remained a bit watery. Then one morning last week, opened freezer to a mess of thawed food. Then the error codes began coming on again. It is so sad there is apparently no quality control at LG!! Beautiful concept, but for $3300 one would expect to get more than ten and a half months out of a major appliance! Calls to Geek Squad with a promise someone would contact me within 48 hours. No call for over a week! I raised Caine, and now they are replacing my unit with one of my choosing. Bought an LG, top-load washer, 3 years ago, model # WT1101CW. There are only 3 of us in the household so the washer was used lightly. Last night it decided to commit suicide. The washer plate and the drive shaft assembly broke into pieces while washing a single shirt. I later found out, this was only half of my problem. The following day I spent 3 hours ping-ponging back and forth with LG customer service (which is in the Philippines... ie, broken English) and Encompass, their third-party parts department. Neither can answer any technical questions and will only ask for a part number.I finally received a phone number for technical questions, but upon calling had to provide a service ID number, which I dont have because I am not a certified technician. Now LG is telling me not to fix it myself, but to call a service technician. I called and they said they would send someone out within 7 days and they would look at it and order parts and that would take another 7-10 days. Once the parts arrive they will send a service technician out to fix it. So, I can use a laundromat for the next 2 to 3 weeks, and then pay a hefty repair bill, or I can just go buy another washing machine from a reputable company that actually provides customer service, and in English. Never again LG! Only 3 years and this LG washer will now be in a landfill. If everybody knew how poorly built these machines are and the non-existent customer that LG provides, LG would be out of business. I can only hope at this point.

Spoke to liability agent once and was virtually dismissed because I had hired a claims adjuster which had zero to do with LG. All I wanted from LG was my homeowners insurance deductible. Now that my ins. claim is settled, I have called LG, was given liability agent Tim **s direct line by a supervisor. I have left him two messages; but he has not returned my calls. I will update this review soon.

I bought one of your top loading washing machines a little over 3 years ago
I bought one of your top loading washing machines a little over 3 years ago. Why I havent complained before? I have had repair on it a couple of times, never resolved the fact it didnt cleaned my clothes. I have learned to manipulate the machine to hopefully have better results. For example, use the bulky bedding cycle to get enough water to even cover the clothes, stop the washer when it has water in it and start a new cycle. I SOAK EVERYTHING I WASH. Still it is the worst washer I have ever had. After doing some research and speaking with those that repair these washers it is the same.... they do not clean your clothes. I find it unconscionable your company can continue selling these inferior products! I had a Kenmore top loader for 24 years, at the point they never made a part again I had to replace it. I so wish I would have found another top loader with agitator, or chosen a front loader. This belongs in a junk yard! I have problems with its balance system when rinsing and have had it take 2+ hours to get a load done!!!!! So much for saving water, energy and convenience! What will you do to resolve this problem? I purchased it at Home Depot 11/20/2011. I have the extended warranty plan. I do have a copy of the receipt as well. I have pictures of items that have been washed with still dirt on them and debris on them. I will wait for your response. Thank You!

Purchased a new LG, LFX31925ST on 4/08/2014, delivered 4/28/2014; ongoing problems with ice maker. When we called, we had to push buttons on ice maker to reset. It would work for a short time, called back, we had to push buttons to reset. This was extremely difficult as we both have arthritis. Finally on May 2015, they did extend warranty as it was on-going. A new ice maker installed. Lasted approx 3 mos. Called back, offered to send repair but at our expense. $3200 for a new refrigerator for our new home. Ridiculous!!! There has to be a recall on this appliance. We will NEVER purchase LG again!!

We purchased an LG front loading washer a couple of years ago. During that time, we had 4 major repairs: 2 under warranty and 1 under extended warranty. Last week (4th problem), a repairman recommended to not waste our money to fix the bearings because the next problem will be the control electrical panel - $200 parts, $75.00 labor and need to wait 2 weeks for the parts. We decided to cut our losses and buy new. Never would we ever buy an LG product again! We ended up buying a Speed Queen washer - no electronic circuit board, just plain dial type like the way they used to make it. The average lifespan of an LG washer is 5 years.
