I tried to buy an extended warranty but they do not sell them. You get a 1 year warranty. The repairman told me you will be very lucky if you get 4 years out of the replacement. He said all of the new compressors are really junk. Remember when refrigerators used to last 30 to 40 years. Not anymore. It is a money racket. Do not buy anything Energy Star, it is all junk. I have gone through 5 washing machines in 18 years, and I live here by myself.

The bearings (lower) only last about 2 years. We purchased the extended warranty and the first time it was covered. The second set were not covered and now we will have to change them again. We will not ever purchase another Whirlpool product. I contacted them several times with no positive results. I still saved the last worn out bearings to show the CEO. The engineers do not have a very good idea to make the lower bearing last. Where I purchased the machine they told me after the first change that it would happen again and they were correct. Nothing Whirlpool can or will do.They have no other complaints about rust inside the lid and inside rim at bleach dispenser nor chipping of paint from lid. When asking the Whirlpool representative about the rust, he assured us there were no other complaints.This is hard to believe since our recent research clearly shows that other brands have had to replace tops due to rust. As for clothes not cleaning, no response to this issue. Whirlpool has not trained salespersons and therefore at the mercy of Lowes hard sales tactics and we were very delinquent in researching numerous complaints before purchasing Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Model WTW8240YWD - Ranked lowest possible from ConsumerAffairs with hundreds of complaints. Whirlpool should be ashamed of product - clothes do not come clean, there is no soak cycle, no way to open mid cycle without losing all water, washer smells horribly, must be cleaned - are you kidding? Who cleans the washer that is supposed to clean clothes with a special cleaner?? We understand safety issues of water in open machine, wonder if Whirlpool understands the need to have a soak feature to clean clothes. Undereducated buyers like us and the totally undereducated salesperson at Lowes were obviously a horrible combination. It was all about sales for them. No one mentioned and we had no clue that the huge drum would not clean clothes even using less water than a traditional machine. We thought platinum meant a high quality machine. It clearly was a cleverly used buzz word for sales not a premier cleaning machine. Never, never, never purchasing Whirpool anything again. Wonder if Whirlpool cares, if they read the ConsumerAffairs reports, if they respond. Our hard-earned money is wasted. Our clothes are dirty, the washer smells, and the top is rusting out!

Well we had one and they never put him in the system. Finally got that taken care of, 6 months of having to press pause and restart 5 times just to do one load. Arrrrrggggghhhh! Now water leaking out the bottom. Called again, on hold, then on hold again to be transferred to tech support. Yeah, right. No tech support. Talked to management, they could care less about us even though we have other products from them. Dont buy, they are lemons. We had ropes for 15 years and lasted through everything. The washer went after 2yrs. use. I bought a Kenmore used washer and it still works. I paid cash for the stove. It was bought at a Sears outlet in Cudahy, WI for $398.58 total with the one year warranty. I really have not gotten the use of the price. I guarantee you (this company) I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance again. TOO BAD YOU COULD NOT RETURN A PARTIAL OF THIS MONEY TOO ME!!!!! WRF993FIFM00 refrigerator is a LEMON - I bought my $3000 refrigerator just after Christmas. In seven months, it has failed three times and I have been without a refrigerator for a cumulative 7 weeks so far. Each time it failed, I lost all my food, (but not until after wed been eating compromised food). If you buy a fridge, I strongly recommend getting a thermometer, because we learned the hard way that these Whirlpool units can just stop cooling properly and you wont necessarily notice that it is above the FDAs recommendations for food storage. Anyway, after each call they will make an appointment a week or two out for a tech to come out, who then orders the parts that take weeks to come in. Now, my third service call in and the SAME PARTS have failed again and I am again without any refrigeration and they have no idea when the parts will be in. This has been an awful experience, and Whirlpool could not care less. DONT buy their products, under any of their names. IT IS TIME FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. Too many folks have spent a lot of money and have been burned by Whirlpool, not to mention becoming ill from improperly chilled food!

Couldnt believe it was cracked after such little use with just two adults living in the home. Removed it and noticed this was such shoddy design. There is a heavy metal bar in the back with a piece of flimsy plastic that attaches to the heavy metal bar with only a screw attaching the plastic to the metal.I made attempt to glue it since it was only cracked but then the plastic just started crumbling into pieces like a broken cookie. Truly there is something wrong with the quality of the product as well as the design of having this heavy metal bar attached to this flimsy plastic. The quality of this part only leads me to believe what is next with this refrigerator. I am sure there is more to come.I contacted Whirlpool to see if they would replace but of course this is at my cost. Ive had inner parts of refrigerators break over years of use and they get old and busted up over time but this is a new refrigerator and once I inspected the part, I was disappointed with myself for not removing these inner parts and inspecting prior to purchasing. I would have picked up on the poor quality right away. Taken by the outside of this unit and its beauty, and not truly looking at whether or not the shelf can hold a couple gallons of milk. I am here to tell you there is no way this would have withstood the test of time with only a gallon of milk sitting on this unit. Poor design, poor quality and metal attached to raw plastic as it is a disaster.

My gas hot water heater failed. The pilot went out and could not be relit. The Whirlpool water heater has a 12 year warranty and we are in year 5. Sears said they could not send anyone to repair it because there was no service in our area. We live 30 minutes from Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas. They offered to replace it even though I had a plumber on standby, ready to replace it. They said they could not let me do that if they had one in stock. After waiting a week for the delivery, they called at 4:45 pm to claim that the delivery truck would not start. They would not put it on another truck or help in any way. Then they said it would be another week before they could deliver it. All this time we are going without hot water, trying to cook, clean, take baths, do laundry etc. They had no sympathy and refused to provide compensation so I could proceed with installing a new water heater. I could have done this if I knew a check was in the mail but they refused to allow me to do this. This happened to me at another big box store years ago and they sent a check immediately. The customer support in the hot water heater dept at Sears was terrible. If they cant send someone to repair and they cant provide a replacement within a few days, it is only reasonable to offer payment so that the customer and move forward with repairs. I will never buy another appliance from Sears after this nightmare. On December 4th Im supposed to get the delayed hot water heater but if the truck doesnt start, who knows how long I will have to wait. I am reasonable and flexible but lack of hot water is something a customer should not have to wait two weeks to get resolved.

Head-liner of inside of refrigerator has a crack about 3-3 1/4 inches long and the refrigerator is running more often. A repair tech came today, 10/14/2011, and did his job fine. He called Whirlpool and they stated to fix it with epoxy? The repair tech is ordering this. I called Whirlpool at 9:00 am right after the tech left at 1-800-253-1301 and spoke to Sherry. I explained everything to her in a very nice manner and she stated that according to the manual, they give us it is for repair only? I said, ok, could I please speak to her Supervisor and she said yes but it will be the same answer. I spoke to her supervisor, Lisa at 9:15 am, she came on talking about the problem and let me talk, I asked her on several occasions are you still there, and she said yes, her words were that Whirlpool only repairs nothing else for the year as per my paperwork (record). I said we dont even get this till after we purchase the item, I mentioned I had a Cabrio Washer and it was junk and had more service calls than any other machine I owned. I have a stove as well from Whirlpool it’s been good so far, I told her with service like this, and them knowing their liners are made of cost cutting saving materials as I have read enough complaints about this on the internet, that Whirlpool is eventually going under and so are the other small shops that do part work for them and their jobs will be outsourced to Japan, China, India and so on, I asked if there was another person higher up than her I could speak to and she said no, they’re not available at this time I snickered and said thats management for you. They have a customer service rep (call center complaints which is Sherry), then supervisor like you (Lisa) then some other management that dont want to talk to you. Way to go Whirlpool. I told her to document that I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance and I will definitely tell others and so on, and if we get enough folks to ban them they will leave USA or close and then Sherry and Lisa will be unemployed just like the rest of us in the good ole USA. Poor appliances for folks that can barely afford to make it and if you’re lucky and working like me and you buy something; shouldnt a refrigerator last more than this, and you stand behind your products? I also told her I know some are abused but this was not an abused product from me. It is a Whirlpool ‘cut your cost savings product’, and forgets the customer. Please look at the old appliances, I also mentioned I have an old Amana in my garage that is 17 years old runs great and never had a problem. And I gave her up for this piece of junk Whirlpool. I then told her I will write letters, emails and everything I can think of to ban this make and product. Model number of this refrigerator is GI7FVCXWBO, freezer on the bottom, fridge on top, side by side doors, solid black with ice maker. When I purchased this I bought it to last a long time as I had to finance it, and take from our monthly income. I had never had a nice fridge, but heck this is not nice. It’s a joke and the sad part is, I owe over $900.00 still and just got laid off. Thanks to the good ole USA and Michigan, but I will pay it off no matter what cause I pay my bills, and stand behind my name as a good person and citizen unlike Whirlpool. Boycott their products as they dont care about us or the American workforce. Oh, and this damage was not caused by abuse to the fridge - it was poor quality of materials in their products. Thank you for letting us complain about products! Also, it’s not like I can go out and buy another refrigerator as it took me over 18 years to get this one. Thanks WHIRPOOL for letting me down on another bad product but it will never happen again. Ive definitely learned and will teach others. I am waiting for the third repair on my front-load washer. I purchased them a year ago and was very satisfied with the ease of use. But in April of this year, the E2F3 started flashing up after I put in a load of clothes. I called the repair line and they sent a guy to check it. Determining it was a sensor, I waited three days for the repair. Then, almost two months later, now, it did this again. He called WP and they said to replace the sensor again. I waited two days for the repair. Before he left, he started the washer to run through the cycle - no problem. I then put in a small load of clothes, and almost immediately, the washer stopped and the E2F3 was flashing again. I called for a repair, and am again waiting (without a washer) for the repairman to come back on Tuesday!!!Today is Friday. I have been four weeks almost without a washer this year. Thats also the $20 I have spent this last week to wash clothes at the laundromat, not to mention the frustration of waiting for the warranty line to pick up and the hassle of having someone here when the repairman comes. I am glad I purchased an extended warranty for this product, but Whirlpool should make their products to last!

I have had a terrible experience with fridge Whirlpool. Two fridges have been delivered to me in bad condition. The first one was aesthetically awful (looked old and used) and the freezer didnt work so it was exchanged. The second one works and it looks ok but it makes very loud noises all day every day. I live in an open concept condo and this fridge sounds like a train for more than an hour more than 5 times a day, it is terrible. I have been calling customer support for a solution and first of all, there are no technicians in my area, and since the fridge works as designed there is nothing to fix so Im stuck with a terrible noisy fridge that I hate and destroys my day which I paid a lot of money for thinking that the brand meant quality but it doesnt. Customer support doesnt respect the customer and their answer that the first works as designed makes me understand that Whirpool designs bad quality fridges. I have never heard a fridge making these noises, not even brands that are less named than Whirlpool. For your inner peace, I recommend you to stay away from Whirlpool-Maytag fridges... If the fridge is in bad condition (but working) youre going to be stuck with it. The brand doesnt really mean quality and support... it just means more expensive.

Service History- Oct 15th 2018 - Fridge/ freezer started not cooling (Issues started) Oct,19th 2018 - Failed defrost (Tech Diagnosed) Nov 13th 2018 - Control was replaced, defrost heater replaced (Service performed) April 10th 2018 - Fridge started not cooling again (Issues started) April 15th 2018 - Tech diagnosed failed UI board (Tech Diagnosed) April 17th 2019 - Replaced failed UI for water/freezer dispenser (Service performed) May 23 2019 - Fridge started not cooling again (Issues started) May 23 2019 - Tech came out and diagnosed the issues as defrost thermometer (Tech Diagnosed) (They initially wanted the tech to come out May 28th but I had to explain this was not acceptable as I can not continue to be without a fridge like this) May 23 2019 - Request to have the fridge replaced.May 24th 2019 - Whirlpool called to notify they would replace the fridge.

In September of 2013, we noticed there were times that the microwave failed to warm the food or liquids (coffee) sometimes at all. Then we figured out that we could hear the noise it makes when it actually warms the food. So after a repair man came out and saw the issue of not warming up, he replaced many parts but within a day we experienced the same issue. Whirlpool had a different repair man come out and replace additional parts hoping it would fix the issue but unfortunately, it did not. Whirlpool said they would send another microwave to us in January of 2014 but now its April 2014 and nothing sent and I have a broken microwave in my house. Due to the length of time it has been, I had to submit this. We have also called customer service on 5 occasions (who have these call documented) and the person that was supposedly helping us and assigned to our case 7 times with no response. We have attempted to talk to a supervisor but were told that I could not, which is unusual. Its just frustrating that this is happening.

So I hurriedly designed the entire kitchen from top to bottom with IKEA.Included in the design was my center piece, my 5 burner Praktfull Pro Gas/Convection oven range with stainless steel backsplash and top of the line hood fan, basically a thing of beauty! I loved it and I visited the store several times to look at it. I finally bought everything, and installed it. Absolutely the most beautiful kitchen in the world.We have a historic building and were on several historic tours, interviewed for the newspaper, our kitchen was the highlight of the tour. My gas range drew oooos and awwws. The range is an exceptional appliance, beautiful and amazingly efficient, easy to clean…I was in love. Then one day it happened, the love affair was quickly over, devastatingly over. The door fell off the oven and the hinge broke! Yes you heard me right, it fell off, but that is not the worst part. It appears that not only are there no parts to fix it… there IS no fix for it, period. The door fell off because it had been glued on!!! Yes glued on. Whirlpool and IKEA had actually manufactured an appliance that failed in less than 4 years of use and no apparent intention to ever provide service or parts for it. This is criminal and they should be fined for their neglect of the customer, their calculated malfeasance and fraud to the customer.So my beautiful kitchen has a big black angry cavity in it and now I must try to find a new range that will fit in the opening left by this piece of junk and also pay probably over $2,000 to $4,000 for it. Most of all I am heart broken, mad and distrustful of anything IKEA in the future. Oh and by the way, my entire house is IKEA, my living room, my patio, my bedroom (s), my library, my office! Ive spent thousands and thousands of dollars at IKEA. No more! THE FINAL INSULT: Ironically…. my kitchen was featured on the IKEA website!!!

Churning the dirty underwear around with a few cups of water isnt acceptable. NOTE: The bearings left months after the extended warranty expired. Just like clockwork. The new one didnt wash any better than the old one so I pre-rinsed everything and the dishes still come out with sprayed dried food on them. The spray holes in the arms fill with food no matter how thoroughly I rinse the dishes. The silverware in the door rarely is clean. The filter is always coated with food particles. The top shelf is always worse than the bottom shelf. I have used inexpensive GEs before and nothing compares to the poor quality of the whirlpool.

We were also told that we could not move the washer. After speaking with a Whirlpool representative, we received an email confirming the repair person would be in our home on Wednesday to repair the washer. During this time, I had to go to the laundry to wash clothes. This cost me $26.00. On Wednesday afternoon when no one had shown up to repair the washer, my husband had to call Whirlpool only to be told that the repairman would not be coming but he would be there on Thursday between 10:00 and 1:00. He arrived at 12:45 and the nightmare began. He had an “I dont care” attitude and if my husband had not been at home, I would have been very uncomfortable. After looking at the washer, he said a part would have to be ordered and it would be the next week before he could fix it. I asked him what I was to do about clothes to be washed. He replied go to the laundry, he was just the repairman. He also said I could use the washer but not to put a full load. On Tuesday night, April 8th, I was washing and I had the washer on medium load and the washer started leaking from the bottom. We still have not heard from the repairman, today is Thursday. Also, my husband and I work outside the home. It would have been so much easier to have the washer replaced but instead we have to wait. We had a washer to be delivered on Tuesday, April 2nd, but we are still waiting on them. Most of the restoration work other than the washer has been completed. Thank you.

The day the repairman came he noticed all the rubber lining in the doors was detaching and huge chunks were falling off of it. He called to get replacement parts for everything and whatyaknow, all parts for this unit have been discontinued!This is what we did to cope with all these defects. The noise was caused by ice building up around the exhaust fan because the unit had stopped defrosting that area, so every 3 days I have to get out my hairdryer and melt the ice at the back of the unit. The side refrigerator shelves are not on very sturdy. When my daughter removed a jar of mustard, the shelf came off the door, fell onto the floor and broke. This could be solved by improving the gripping strength (increase depth) of the refrigerator door shelf holders. Additionally, the sliding freezer shelf is always crooked and has to be manipulated into place. This is most problematic when the freezer shelf is full. The freezer is not smudge-proof, but clean up is easy with a damp towel.

My home warranty wont cover. It is a $400.00 repair to replace the circuit that attaches from the water filter. I called Whirlpool 2/14/2017 to complain about the product. She tells me that there havent been any complaints logged about the refrigerator. Seriously??? Read your reviews! The gal on the phone offered a discount to purchase a NEW PRODUCT! Are you serious??? How much beeping it makes after a long day at work.

I called Whirlpool customer service and was informed straight away that their computer system was down and they wouldnt be able to order parts if I needed them (great start right?). I explained to the woman on the phone what my issue was and also told her that after searching online, Ive found that this is a common failure with these hot water heaters that Lowes sells where the thermal couple is defective and needs to be replaced. She began to inform me that before any parts was ordered (which she couldnt do because the computers were down), I would have to clean the vent openings on the bottom of the HW heater. No big deal. Then, Id have to have my gas line pressure verified by my gas company (what?). If both were found to be fine, Id have to confirm that my flue is at least three feet above my roof line before they would send me parts to repair my unit. This is about where I lost my mind.I run the RMA/Customer service department in my company and if anyone has issues with our products, we ship first and ask questions later. How can a company with known defective products give their customers the runaround and basically tell them that they are screwed until they can take off time from work for a gas co. to come to their home and will also have to have flue replaced before theyll warranty their product?! Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves and Lowes should distance themselves from such a crappy company with substandard products and shoddy warranty practices. Ill never buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live and will warn anyone away from this company.

In addition, the seal on the oven door has apparently failed because the glass is foggy on the inside. Today I phoned Whirlpool after going to their website. I first spoke to a parts representative who advised that I would have to pay $47.00 per cap or $115.00 for all five burner caps. I was transferred to another department as I thought I should get the appliance parts and door fixed for free. The appliance is only 3.5 years old. I was told that the appliance is only guaranteed for 1 year and I would have to pay dearly to remedy the two problems. This appliance is Whirlpools Gold series. It supposed to be top-of-the-line - the price tag was certainly top of the line. Im very disappointed in American workmanship and the companys lack of integrity. Not too long ago I purchased a Whirlpool (aka Maytag) front loading washer. I now own a Samsung. The point is that designed obsolescence will force consumers to purchase products made outside of the US because some of us cannot afford to buy or repair appliances, cars, etc., every couple of years.
