Whirlpool Dryer Repairs
If you're looking for help fixing your Whirlpool Dryer, look no further! Our comprehensive Whirlpool Dryer repair guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and maybe show you how to repair your appliance.
For the home, kitchen and beyond, Whirlpool manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Whirlpool appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.
Whirlpool Dryer stopped spinning.
Drive Belt. The drive belt is a very long, slender belt that wraps all the way around the dryer drum, around a tension pulley, and then around the drive motor pulley. Over time, the belt can break from normal use. If the belt is broken, the dryer won’t turn. To quickly determine if the belt is broken, reach into the dryer and turn the drum by hand. If the drum spins very easily, the belt is likely broken. Next, inspect the belt to confirm that it is broken. If the belt is broken, replace it.

Whirlpool Dryer Takes too Long to Dry Clothes.
Blower Wheel. The blower wheel works with the drive motor to draw air into the dryer drum. Clumps of lint, socks, and small articles of clothing can escape the lint filter and get caught in the blower wheel. In addition, the blower wheel sleeve can wear out, allowing the blower wheel to wobble on the motor shaft. If the blower wheel is obstructed or defective, it may take too long to dry clothes. To determine if the blower wheel is working properly, remove the dryer vent and assess the strength of the air flow. If the air flow is weak, check the blower wheel for obstructions. If no obstructions are present, try rotating the blower wheel by hand. If the blower wheel wobbles as it turns, replace it.
Whirlpool Dryer overheating.
Heating Element. The heating element warms the air before the air enters the dryer drum. If the element is partially shorted out, it may produce heat continuously, even if the dryer has reached the proper temperature. When this happens, the dryer gets too hot. To determine if the heating element is at fault, use a multi meter to test each terminal for continuity to the case. If the heating element has continuity to the case, it is shorted out. If the heating element is shorted out, replace it.
Whirlpool Dryer won't stop.
Blower Wheel. The blower wheel draws air through the dryer and pushes the air out the vent. Whirlpool dryer not heating up.
Thermal Fuse. The thermal fuse is a safety device designed to protect the dryer from overheating. The fuse is located on the blower housing or at the dryer’s heat source such as the heating element on electric dryers or at the burner on gas models. The fuse should be closed for continuity meaning it has a continuous electrical path through it when good. If overheated the fuse will have no continuity meaning the electrical path is broken and the fuse has blown. A multi meter can be used to test it for continuity. Be aware that a blown thermal fuse is an indication of a restricted exhaust vent from the dryer to the outside. Always check the dryer venting when replacing a blown thermal fuse.
Whirlpool Dryer tripping breaker.
Heating Element. Sometimes, if the heating element fails, it shorts out against the heater housing, causing the dryer to trip the circuit breaker. To determine if the heating element is at fault, use a multi meter to test each terminal for continuity to the case. If the heating element has continuity to the case, it is shorted out. If the heating element is shorted out, replace it.
Whirlpool Dryer makes noise.
Drive Belt. The drive belt is a very long, slender belt that wraps all the way around the dryer drum, around a tension pulley, and then around the drive motor. Over time, the drive belt can become frayed or otherwise damaged. If the drive belt is frayed or damaged, the dryer will be noisy as it turns. Inspect the drive belt for signs of wear. If the drive belt is worn, replace it.

Whirlpool Dryer maintenance
I purchased this washers predecessor, the WTW6200 in May of 09, along with the matching dryer. The bearings gave out after 36 months of use, and our household comprises two adults in their mid-fifties. Estimated cost of the repair? $650! Why am I posting this here? Because two weeks ago, my daughter-in-law called to say that shed so liked my machine when she visited in 09 - Id had the thing for two weeks at that time - that shed bought the WTW8500B and... the bearings were already giving out. I suggested she get the thing repaired, sell it immediately and replace it with an LG product, which is what Ive done. She has been put on a three-month waiting list for the repair, confirming my feeling that Whirlpool, as a whole, has gone down the tubes. Their service record is dreadful, with an excess of 20K complaints existing at various consumer agencies regarding ALL the Cabrio line, and their warranty, Ive learned, is considered the worst in the industry. All in all, the single worst purchase of my fifty-odd years.
I am very upset about this Washing Machine and Dryer. I did my research in 2012 and found good reviews on drum size, water usage, bells and whistles. I purchased the set in Feb of 2013 (its on Jan of 2017). NOT EVEN 3 years later, I write to say that my washing Machine is ready for replacement! I paid 989.00 for each and last year the Spring on the Glass Top was worn away, I am told because bleach was splashing up in the spring area. Cost to fix with a local repairman... $235.00. Now I noticed a small amount of water on the floor, move the washer and there is a LARGE amount of water Stain and my cycles keep popping up UL. Two separate repairmen (because I didnt believe my trusted first one) tell me the cost for the shot bearings and seals will cost almost as much as a new washer! I am a family of 3. I have a daycare so do a few extra loads, but am not using this any more than average to low use. Not to mention that on top of all of this the computer appears to be shorting out and to order a new panel the repairman places that at an EXTRA 300.00. SO UPSET! The dryer dries very nicely and is quiet however, the motor went out 6 months ago and we replaced that, not wanting to but better fix than scrapping it only 3 years into a product expected to last well over 10! The little clip on the door to lock it is also loose and hardly locks now. The repairman is having trouble even finding the small part. Young Couple Expecting to have a brand new 1900.00 washer dryer set last a long time only to be out of warranty and already needing to buy a new set! DONT EVER BUY A CABRIO WHIRLPOOL.
We purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer due to the companys past reputation and our own past experience with Whirlpool appliances fully expecting to receive great performance and durability. We have had the pair just about 2 years and the washer started experiencing problems during the spin cycle. The unit would get out of balance easily and then it would stop without spinning, leaving the clothes very wet. Well, as our past experience had indicated to us the washer is usually much more reliable than the dryer, or thats the way it had been for us. So we only purchased the extended warranty on the dryer. Not being covered on the washer we located a local technician and he promptly diagnosed the problem as the transmission failed causing the noisy bearing and the failure of the unit to spin properly. Our tech quickly repaired the unit but this failure disappointed me to the point of contacting Whirlpool. Thats where I came upon this site and saw the multitude of complainers with the same type of problems and some that are worse than ours. Our purpose in this review is to add to the 1100 or more reviews that report the same kind of issues. We are now in the same mindset as the 1100. Will we ever buy another Whirlpool? Probably not, especially since it doesnt look like Whirlpool wants to stand with their customers to make it right. Customer support is just as important to us as the reliability we seek. I would much rather spend a bit more in the price than replace or repair the unit after the purchase. A little economics lesson for our friends at Whirlpool is that if you abandon your 1100 customers you will save about $440,000.00, but those 1100 will tell everyone they know of their problems with that product and as a result many thousands will never purchase a Whirlpool. So if we all influence 5 of our friends not to buy, then 1100 X 5 = 5500 people X an average price of $800 which equals about 4.4 million dollars of lost sales. Seems like a no brainer to want to stand behind your customers. We dont believe that any washing machine on the market should fail after a few months to 2 years. These products should be built to last many years and the maker of these products should have that goal.
Ive read a lot of reviews on here for Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer saying horrible things and maybe I lucked out? We got our set at Lowes a couple of years ago and havent had issues. We use Gain HE liquid detergent in the washer and have no problems. We also do the recommended routine cleanings of the machine as the manual says. I pick the settings for what we have, clothing wise, and it washes appropriately and things are clean, no marks or other things people have mentioned. I will click on extra rinse and adjust the soil level if something is particularly yucky. The dryer is great as well as long as you select the proper type of wash you have going on. I tend to do more dry setting and things never come out wrinkled. Sorry for all those who have had bad experiences. Also, others have complained about the noise...our old machine had an agitator and was very loud. Our machines are in a closed room and most of the time we dont hear a thing until the bell rings. Maybe wed hear more if they were in an open area or garage where noise echoes?
I bought a Whirlpool washing machine on 16 Feb 2011. I started having problems with it in June. It was making very loud noises when it was agitating and the clothes were still wet after the spin cycle. I called Nebraska Furniture Mart where I purchased it and they said that after 30 days, I had to call the manufacturer. I called Whirlpool and they sent A&E out to fix it. The technician that came out spent an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with it. When he was gone, I was left with two inches of water on my washroom floor and I had to pull the washer and dryer out myself to wipe it up. He ordered a part that came the next week and a different technician came out to put it in. After looking at the washer, the second technician said that the first technician diagnosed it wrong and he ordered a new transmission for it. About a week later, the transmission arrived at my house and a third technician came to install it. The washer worked for a few days and started acting up again and leaking water. I once again called Whirlpool and they sent yet another technician out. I told Whirlpool that I had lost faith in A&E so they sent All Appliances out. The technician from All Appliances said that it needed a transmission and he would have to order it in. A few days later, he came back to install it. It worked for a few loads. The leaking had stopped but now, it does not spin out the clothes. To make matters worse, it now releases the Downy at the wrong time and I now have blue spots all over my clothes. I have made repeated calls to Whirlpool and talked to two different managers. I asked the first manager for her direct number so I wouldnt have to go through the whole explanation again if I needed to call back. But she gave me her number without her 4-digit extension so, there was no way of finding her again. When I talked to the second manager (by this time, I have lost my patience), I told him my whole story and I told him that Whirlpool has spent $1,000.00 between parts and technician service on a $460.00 machine and it still doesnt work. It is a lemon and I deserve a voucher for the full price to purchase something different. After one and a half hours on the phone, Lukas informed me that the only thing he could do was to send yet another technician to my home. I have lost all faith in Whirlpool and I believe that they do not stand behind their product. They only push you until the warranty has expired! I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again!
I purchased a Whirlpool dryer about 18 months ago. Within 2 months the timer went out. Of course I am still under the manufacturer warranty they came and fixed it. Now a year after the same problem occur. Whirlpool convinced me to buy and extended warranty for $268.00 and scheduled service with Platinum Factory. Took a day off work, then they call me to cancel the appointment. I will advised people not to buy Whirlpool appliances because that is not the appliance I have with them. All whirlpool appliances have a defect. My refrigerator, my washer and dryer, my microwave all have issues. Most of the whirlpool at all. Services agents are rude and not professional. One agent from Tennessee had the nerve to tell me I have to lose money to get services right. When asked to cancel service plan I was told to write a letter to get my money back. My advice if you are in the process of changing your appliances DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES because your problem will not be resolve by talking to those stupid agents and will not let you talk to a supervisor.
I was gifted a washer and ventless dryer for my condo. It takes a little longer than a regular dryer but it works great. It fits perfectly in a closet.
The control knob broke off the washer when it was only two years old. I contacted Whirlpool by email about what happened with the dryer. The control panel is held tight to the dryer now with duct tape and the knob is held on also with duct tape. The knob doesnt work. It is stuck on timed dry so I can at least use it and adjust the time. I cannot use any other setting. It would cost about the amount of the dryer to have it repaired. The customer representative informed me that sometimes things dont last. Im glad for his profound wisdom, but Im stuck with a dryer held together with duct tape. I was offered an extended warranty, but the cost of repair will be nearly the amount of a new dryer. I will seek a different brand in the future.
This is the worst washer/dryer I have ever had. It is so damn loud that the neighbors can hear it. Water level is too low. Today the dial is making a buzzing sound. I have to re-rinse the clothes. It does not spin enough, have to re-spin again. What kind of energy saver is this, NONE. They said thats the way the machine is, loud, thats bull. No machine should be like that. I threw money away when I bought that piece of (you know what). Dont buy this machine. Consumer Affairs, you should pursue this product with Whirlpool and have them do something about it. They do absolutely NOTHING.
After 32 years of marriage and nothing but Whirlpool (because my mother swore by Whirlpool), that is all we have used. I am so disappointed in the Cabrio washer/dryer set we purchased at Lowes. After 18 months, the dryer just quit. The best part is, we hang clothes out most of the time. It was used one winter, $1400 wasted. We put a cheap Admiral in our second home and spent $500 total and they work fine. I will never ever purchase Whirlpool anything or recommend to anyone. Again, you lost a family tradition.
Im very happy with my Whirlpool washer and dryer. The washer leaves the clothes clean and has a variety of wash cycles and water levels and is quiet. The dryer also has a variety of drying selections for all clothes and heavy loads and its very quiet.
I purchased a washer/dryer around March of this year. I have nothing but trouble out of both of them. It doesnt matter what cycle the washer is on. Its like it has a mind of its own. It may wash; it may not. Sometimes, it takes over an hour for it to finish washing. The dryer sometimes dries on one cycle; the next time, it wont. Who would think a brand new appliance would do this. Every appliance in my kitchen is Whirlpool. They dont give me any problem, and I use them everyday.
Phone calls took too long (30-45 mins each). Connection was bad. WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES ARE **. Whirlpool appliance was poor quality, broke down and not fixable. Unable to find replacement dryer ANYWHERE that will match my existing washer stacking kit. The loyalty program discount is a joke.
In 2011, I bought in Croatia, for the start, 2 washers (model 3LCHW9100WQ) and 1 dryer (model 3LCED9100WQ) and opened the first self-service laundry in Pula, Croatia. Since the beginning, I had problems with the gum (black). After the washing cycles, you could see black lines on the laundry. Whirlpool Croatia denied that the gum can be the cause. After two months, they gave me new gums, but the problem still exists. After 5 months of work, the first malfunction on the washers started. The biggest problem is that it took and still takes them up to a month to repair them. And these problems I have ever since. Also, the error codes never showed the correct malfunction code. In global, if I take that I have these washers and dryer for about a year, they were out of function for more than 3 months. The warranty expired in April 2012. On these reasons, I cannot recommend any product of Whirlpool, and I have to change to another company to buy more washers and dryers.
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model WTW7340XW0 type 580 Serial C02770464 and a Whirlpool Cabrio Dryer Model WED7300XW0 Type DSSA-ELE-2406026-EL54 Ser M02717021 in 2010 for over $1,700. Included was a 3-yr anything goes wrong, well replace for free warranty. A month after the purchase, we lost our home and were forced to move. We put the new appliances in storage and they have been there ever since. From the day we purchased the washer, we never got a clean wash out of it. It seemed it used about a teaspoon of water. Clothes were never clean... We had many other problems at the time and both washer and dryer were put into storage.Today, the warranty has long expired and I happened to check on the ConsumerAffairs site to see if there were any comments regarding whirlpool Cabrio washers... WOW! 1600 negative comments and not one positive. Later, I realize we made a $1700 mistake. My question is do I have any recourse? Please advise.
I purchased a Whirlpool Microwave on 9/21/10 from Hamilton-Bryan in Wichita Falls, Texas. I had a small fire in my microwave on 9/19/11, due to a faulty mica board. This was replaced by Mr. Bobs in Wichita Falls, TX, under the warranty. Then on 1/9/12, the microwave would not warm anything. I called Mr. Bobs again, and they said the transformer was out. I called Whirlpool, and was told by Yvonne that Whirlpool would replace the part only, with no labor, but Mr. Bobs was closed, and to call back in the morning, so this authorization could be set up with Mr. Bobs. I called back and there was no record of my call with Yvonne. I talked to a supervisor Rachel in Tennessee. She put me on hold for a while and finally said she found Yvonnes note to authorize the part. I explained to each person I talked to that I was dissatisfied with Whirlpool. I believe I have a defective microwave. I would like my money back, or a new microwave. I believe the defective mica board is related to the defective transformer. I am a very dissatisfied customer. I have used Whirlpool most of my adult life. I have used them since the 1970s. I currently have a Whirlpool refrigerator, washer, and dryer. A similar situation like this occurred when I bought a Samsung washer. I was dissatisfied, and Samsung refunded my money, and I bought a Whirlpool washer to replace Samsung. I will not be satisfied with this situation, until the microwave is replaced. Thank you for your concern and attention to this matter.
We have had the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer for 4 years now. Let me start off by saying the first 6 months was wonderful. Then after that, the machines were breaking down every time we turned around at the worst times. With 2 adults and 4 children, you see my point. We have had a repairman at our house to fix these machines 6 times and now, we are getting a code on our washer that is F1. Looking up codes online shows to be the computer system of the machine and a $400-$600 repair, might I add. Please save your money and buy a better and more dependable set than Whirlpool. Washers and dryers used to last 20-25 years, or so my parents and grandparents did. All of the manufacturers are building cheap junk so we can buy them more often.
Five years ago I bought a brand spanking new HE set with a top load washer, top of the line Whirlpool. That washer has been a piece of junk and getting it serviced has been a nightmare. It broke, i.e., the computer part, and was out of commission for FOUR MONTHS. I live on an island off of Alaska, luckily I rented one for the duration but STILL. That was an EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLAR MACHINE. I liked that they are new and shiny and look cool. I hate that the electronics broke after a few years. Ive had washers dryers that lasted TWENTY YEARS. The next set I buy will have plain buttons for cycles and NO ELECTRONICS. None. And still none. Electronics instead of plain buttons. Im not kidding, I will never buy another one with electronics. I bought a top of the line Whirlpool HE top loading set for over $1400 five years ago and that washer has been a bust. I have had a repairman out over 5 times and the last time he took it out and kept it in the shop for FOUR MONTHS. I will never buy a fancy set again. I will buy the old kind with the plain old buttons. Do not make this mistake yourself! Just buy a plain old one!
I’ve purchased a front washer and dryer and storage units, directly from Whirlpool. When the delivery people installed the units, they did not install the rubber gaskets that are required between the units. I’ve purchased rubber pads from Lowe’s, but the washer still shakes uncontrollably. What do I do now?
I purchased this washer 4.5 years ago. I have always been a Whirlpool customer. My parents had Whirlpool washer and dryer while I was growing up in the 60s. When I got married in 1976 I bought a Whirlpool washer, dryer and refrigerator. They lasted 19 years!!! Then I replaced all 3 in 1995. Again, lasted 16 years. I gave the washer and dryer to my sons when they moved out--its still working. So I thought I would reward myself with a new Whirlpool washer and dryer in August 2011. I didnt know about the pitfalls with the high efficiency washers. The dryer is great, but I HATE my washer! The lid lock is ridiculous, we should be given an option to override it. The sensing takes forever. The low water level leaves clothes unclean, and with detergent residue, causing the need for another rinse cycle. This saves no water if you have to run it twice. Not to mention how long it takes to do a load. Then it doesnt spin all the water out and you have to run a spin cycle. It aggravates me every time I do laundry. After being a Whirlpool customer for over 35 years, its time to move on. I just ordered a GE machine that is old school, no sensors, no lid lock, and I can control the level of water. Whirlpool doesnt make these simple machines anymore. Youre going to lose a lot of customers if you keep selling the trash. This is the worse washer I have ever had. My adult son went into a rage last night trying to use it, he forced the lid open and broke the lock, and of course it wont work at all without the lock. Good thing I ordered the GE washer the day before, it will be here in a few days. Cant wait to bash the Whirlpool with a sledge hammer, it will give us great satisfaction! Are you listening Whirlpool? Your designers need to go back to the drawing board. I realize this is not just a Whirlpool problem. Ive seen complaints about kenmore and every other manufacturer that makes these stupid low water sensing machines with lock lids. If consumers are too stupid to keep their kids out of the washing machine, maybe they should have their kids taken away.
We purchased a Cabrio top loading washer (WTW6400SW2) and a Cabrio dryer (WGD6200SW1) in 2007. From day one the washer has tied clothes in knots, never cleaned the clothes properly, and sputters the detergent and bleach unevenly. The fabric softener dispenser clogs up too, rendering it useless. The knotting of the clothes leaves them so tightly wrinkled they come out of the dryer very wrinkled. The water level, determined by the washers self-sensor that weighs each load, does not fully submerge the clothes. The manual says this is normal operation for this model and that it will not affect the cleaning process. Wrong. The small agitator is insufficient to clean the clothes but does a wonderful job of twisting them in long, tight knots. I want to kick myself every time I walk past the washer for paying so much money for such a poorly designed washer. I was very sick when they were first delivered and wasnt able to do much laundry. By the time I was well enough to do more with it, I noticed the clothes werent getting clean and were actually being damaged by the washers process thanks to uneven detergent distribution/spotting from the clothes sitting above the water level, and being poorly agitated and rinsed. Before I knew it, my warranty had expired. It was a very hectic year. Ive been very sick. We purchased it from Lowe’s. I had their techs out a time or two to check it in the beginning, but they always smoothed it over with some waffy, generic explanation. Eventually, I was past my 30-day trial period. I was on my own with Whirlpool, whod refer me to the manual and make me feel like I just had to get used to the new technology of the self-sensoring washer. Ive read that Whirlpool is aware of this issue and doing nothing. Ive read other complaints that describe the same problems I have and its obvious this is a design flaw. I appreciate these posts because I least I dont feel like Im insane anymore. No, just horribly ripped off by Whirlpool.
We have front loaders. Far, far less damaging to the clothing than a top loader with agitator, would never go back to top loader. That comes with a caveat though. There is a difference you may not realize between the two styles. With a front loader comes a little maintenance. You will need to clean the washer periodically. Most all the stores sell the cleaning tablets and no, not all cleaners are created equal. I will only use Affresh after testing most of them. With a front loader there is always some water in the bottom of the drum, even after the cycle ends and even when it looks empty. So if you wash real dirty or smelly things, you’ll want to run an empty cycle to rinse out that leftover water or run with cleaner. In between wash days you’ll need to leave the door open so it doesn’t mold or mildew. The door gasket/seals will show mold and mildew and or you’ll get a mildew smell in your clothing. The only issues we’ve had with these units were the learning curve on front loaders in general and with the dryer we had the water valve for the steam function stick open (after 5 years) but it was due to calcium build up from our well water, not a issue with the machine itself. The dryer lint screen could be better. It is vertical so as the lint builds up during a cycle it drops to the bottom and accumulated at the bottom falling off as you pull it out each time to clean it. The lint catches on a crazy amount of extrusions inside the lint trap which also makes it nearly impossible to get down in and effectively clean all the crap out. One last thing if youre changing from top to front loaders. Buy the peristalsis, they’re expensive but it’s a pain in the butt to get stuff out if you don’t have them. Overall we’ve been very happy with our Whirlpool front loaders and would confidently recommend them to you.
We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer in October 2010 and it was the worst purchase we have ever made. We had two worthless calls to Whirlpool and all the regular brain-dead suggestions that do not improve function. We have had a technician out to our home and we have the extended warranty. The technician stated that the machine will never function properly and Whirlpool knows this. The low water level prevents washing, rinsing. The problems with the washing machine are many and the required multiple washes and rinses make the claim for low energy usage false advertising. It leaves white streaks on dark clothes constantly and has residue on everything from sheets to silks, no matter the cycle. Theres not enough water which covers the clothes, so clothes do not get clean. The spin cycle is so violent that clothes are damaged. The soak cycle is a joke. Soaking means to sit in water and soak. This machine drains the water so there is no soaking. With this very expensive machine, we can use only one cycle; bulky items on the low spin with a repeat rinse. According to the technician, these complaints are what they respond to all day, everyday. There is no mechanical fix for this design flawed machine. If you are looking at buying this machine, dont! The machine has ruined lots of laundry. Do not waste your money or your time. I would like my money back. The Whirlpool company definitely plays dumb on the customer service calls. Its a non-functional washer as it damages laundry and has false claim for low energy usage.
I purchased this washer about a year ago and have been dissatisfied with its performance since Day One. It takes a long time to run a cycle and has not saved me any water or electricity. I always have to add a second rinse because it doesnt get the soap out (using the recommended detergent) with the regular cycles. Sometimes it doesnt get my clothes clean.Today it tore huge holes in the front and back of one of my very favorite T-shirts, which was a very meaningful gift from a very good friend. This was due to its tangling the clothes even more tightly than it usually does; the tangling process was what tore the material. I always take pains to load the machine in the manner instructed, to put the clothes in loose balls around the outside of the drum, but nevertheless it can take me several minutes to untangle my laundry before I put it in the dryer (also a Whirlpool -- just waiting to see how it disappoints). If I had read the reviews here before I selected my new machines, I would never have purchased the Whirlpool washer or dryer. I certainly never will purchase Whirlpool machines again.
We bought Whirlpool duet front loading washer and matching dryer. In 3 years the water level seemed like it was off. Clothes, especially towels were coming out stinky. Eventually you could hear the clothes were merely flopping around wet. Before we could order the repair part it completely quit and locked our clothes into it. I washed my clothes at my daughters house for a week and dried them at home. Within the week the dryer quit. Not having the money to repair both machines, my son gifted me a set of top loading washer/dryer. Again Whirlpool. In a week we had repair service out. They replaced everything possible and it still didnt work right. Since the 90 days from purchase was approaching we returned it to the store and they had Whirlpool send us a brand new dryer. This one worked for a month then stopped spinning. I havent called for service yet because now with 3 broken machines I am so disgusted. When I think about them I feel like I am going to puke. My washing machine shouldnt be the worst thing in my life, especially since it was a lovely gift from a wonderful son.
I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio topload washer (WTW7800XW2) in April 2011. In May 2012, I noticed the door was broken on both sides. It has now popped up and is broken so bad that it can barely be used without replacing it. I called Lowes, where it was purchased, to quickly be told that there was nothing they could do because it is out of the years warranty. This is just such a copy out to have an excuse, so that they would not even offer any assistance. Also, I paid $2,000.00 for the set; I bought the dryer as well. I just could not imagine an expensive machine like this having such a problem. Prior to buying this machine, I had my washer for 10 years. It has no problem; it was just time to buy a newer model, so I thought! After the store (Lowes) would not help, I decided to call Whirlpool; and the woman I spoke with was even less help. Andrea said there was nothing they could do since it was outside the year of manufacturers warranty. She seemed glad to have this as an excuse. I told her this is too much money to have something like this to happen. I told her it is obvious the door was defective. She said again sorry but that theres nothing she could do. She did offer to sell me a warranty for a year for $327.52. This was too expensive. I asked her what else could she do, and she told me nothing. I asked how much the door was, and she told me $212.00. I feel like I have been royally and deliberately ripped off, and Whirlpool knows it. I say to anyone reading this to please be aware if you are purchasing this product. You will most likely be sorry you invested all this money for it. You will get a companys brand that does not care and will not stand by their product.
The felt drum gasket came off our 6 month old Whirlpool Cabrio dryer purchased through KB homes. When I contacted the helpline on the 16th of May I was promptly set up with an appointment on the 18th of May. On the 18th I called to confirm a time and the company that whirlpool subcontracts in San Antonio, said they had no appointment for that day and the soonest they could get out here was June 1. I contacted Whirlpool to let them know this wasnt acceptable and I received many apologies and I understand how you feels. I asked how is it you have one company in all of San Antonio to service our dryer? Again more apologies. Then I asked since when does only apologizing and saying, I understand your feeling, be the end all of your customer service? No reply to that so I called Sears who promptly had a repairman out to the tune of $200 bucks with my military discount. Never again Whirlpool.
We bought the washer and dryer set almost three years ago. Great sales pitch! Energy saver, extra capacity, low water usage, Whirlpool name and I thought we were getting great quality! Three years later I am disgusted, disappointed and am junking the washer. The dryer has a new heating element that we proudly fixed ourselves after the repairmen told us that these were meant to be throwaways. We just thought he did not want to work on it. After watching several YouTube videos we had it apart and found the issue was a cracked heating element. We ordered a new one for 100$ and spent another 4 hours putting it back together. If we had to pay a repairmen to do all that the bill would have been the price of a cheap new one. Fast forward three weeks and now the washer quit and it can be one of at least 15 problems. After reading all these reviews we have decided to toss it as junk. It took forever to was a load of clothes negating any energy saving! Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off all of us hardworking Americans selling us junk. At one time the Whirlpool name meant you could count on a quality product! If Whirlpool really wanted to do the right thing, they would stop selling these immediately and give customers a credit toward the purchase of new washers and dryers!
I am so unhappy with my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer. The clothes get so tangled and twisted that it stretches my sweaters totally out of shape. There is not enough water on any of the cycles that really clean your clothes. I saved my money so I could get something energy efficient and look great in my new laundry room. I would never recommend this product. Your sheets will not come clean because they ball up in the middle of the washer and come out partly dry. I have had this set for 3 years and now the bearing is gone; it leaks from the bottom and throws grease all over my new floor. I have battled the horrible odor since the second month. It smells so bad that I make sure I dont wash the day I have guest over. I am so disappointed and mad at myself for not reading any reviews before I spent my hard earned money. So here I am now 3 years into my ownership and having to spend more money on a defective product. The sad part is that I really thought I was getting something nice that would last me and my husband for years. There are only two of us in our household. This machine does not work properly; now it is broken, but hey it really looks good.
Purchased Whirlpool refrigerator model #WRF532SMBM & a new dryer on 11/14/15 from Community Appliance in Middletown, NJ. Waited 3 wks for delivery. Worst purchase ever! Very cheaply made. There is a 1 space between shelf edge & walls all the way around. Put a lb. of butter on shelf & it fell down to the bottom. There is no butter keeper which allows orders to be absorbed by open butter. No egg keeper. In the freezer, the bins are wire baskets. So far I have dropped a bag of frozen blueberries & they fell to the bottom of the freezer. In French door bottom freezers it is almost impossible to retrieve items falling through. Ice packs fall through, very poorly designed. Very loud, supposed to have a water filter in upper right corner for easy access... its not there!Called Whirlpool, waited 20 min. & all the rep could say was, So sorry youre not happy. Asked if modifications could be purchased or made... nope. Asked to speak to quality control, a supervisor, anyone that may be able to give some satisfaction. Nope. She was making notes of all my complaints so they can be passed on to engineers for future models!!! Had a rebate offer, rep transferred me to that dept... cant/ wont honor it because 1 day too late. KitchenAid, Whirlpool doesnt care once they have your $. NEVER again. Ill shop Kenmore products from now on.
Every appliance Ive ever owned has been a Whirlpool product. I am on my second set of Cabrio washers and dryers. I havent had any issues with the dryers, but the washers are a different story. My first washer, bought in 2008, started throwing water and oil underneath while spinning. A service technician came out... I had to have the entire tub replaced seeing as how the bearings that went bad were in the motor/spinning assembly that was built into the tub. I moved in 2011 and needed another washer and dryer. I was told the problem had been addressed. Now Im having the same problem... the washer is so loud when spinning, you can hear it on the opposite end of the house with doors closed! So the bearing problem has NOT BEEN ADDRESSED!!! Whirlpool will not stand by this product!! Loyalty is not a factor in their assistance... Only profit!!!
My wife and I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set less than three years ago. And so far the dryer has been ok, but our washer has had to have a new motherboard and now it smells like its burning. Our last washer and dryer set was a hand down and was over 15 years old and never had any issues like our new ones do. Ill never buy another Whirlpool product again.
Whirlpool Duet washer and dryers extremely silent and energy efficient. However the wash time can be reduced, it typically takes 40 mins for a full load to wash. The dryer filter lining is fragile and breaks quickly.
I am on my second Cabrio. The first one only lasted a few years, but I stayed with the Cabrio line because I didnt want to replace the dryer. That was my first mistake. The second Cabrio washer constantly leaves a white residue on dark clothing. I used an HE detergent, reduced the detergent and put the dark clothes through an extra rinse and still find residue that has to be scraped off. I called Whirlpool on Dec. 19th, 2018 to complain about this and was told there was no history reported of this kind of problem. Then I went on the ConsumerAffairs website to learn that many others have the same residue issue, among many other products. I will not ever purchase a Whirlpool machine of any kind again.
We bought a duet set front loader washer and dryer on 3/14/2010 and our washer already needs new bearing and costs about as much as a new washer. I think that is pretty bad when you can’t get two years out of a product and then can’t get anyone to help unless you want to pay out. I will not buy another Whirlpool product! Done!
While the washer is great, the reliability of the dryer is lacking. The timer has broken 3 times on ours in 3 years. Each time the cost of the switch is $75.00. Too much plastic on the shaft. If the plastic was removed, and the shaft was metal, it would be a definite improvement.
I hate my Cabrio units. Dont waste your money on these machines. I stay frustrated because I have to work so hard doing my laundry. Clothes not clean, laundry liquid on clothes, parts of clothes not even wet, debris left on dark colors from spin cycle, lint all over dark clothes from dryer! Mad in Texas.
When my dryer died my wife and I decided to get both a new washer & dryer. I kick myself for two reasons. My 15-year-old washer which worked fine I replaced, and I didnt check reviews before buying. What a mistake. The eco-friendly Whirlpool washer designed to save energy doesnt clean close, my towels are the worse. Coming out of a shower and using a freshly washed towel to dry off and it smelling like it had never been washed tears it for me. Im hoping like many others they will rebate or even better recall and pay back the money I spent on a worthless washing machine! So, if Whirlpool wont do the right thing, I will do my best to warn others to not buy this top loading piece of **.
Purchased front load washer & dryer 2009 - have had issues with the washer ever since. The last episode has taken 3 visits from repairman - they cant figure out what the problem is - wont finish a cycle (any of them) and locks up. Cant open the door without turning it off and then back on. But the load wont spin dry - leaves clothes wet. Already had the harness replaced a couple of years ago and now they replaced the flywheel (it was warped) thinking that was the problem. Nope. Still wont work & the repair company said they cant figure it out & neither can Whirlpool. Im very angry after reading all of these posts about Whirlpool. Not a happy customer. But what can you do???
Whirlpool is not what it was before. I got this set with new house... They are very poor construction. They are not even close what I have before the LG. After 6 months I begin to have problems with the dryer... Technician come two time to fix the problems. Quality of washing is OK though... That going to be the last time I got Whirlpool products. For sure.
We purchased a whirlpool gas dryer 30 years ago this past February. Its still going strong with 30 years of continuous use!! The only service ever required was a belt change I did myself 18 years ago. Not too bad whirlpool!!
2016 Cabrio Washer - I had an 11 year old Maytag washer that finally gave up so rather than go through the repair I decided to upgrade to a new washer dryer and went with the Whirlpool Cabrio W/D pair. I am shocked at the washers inability to clean even the most basic of stains. I have to pre-treat clothes like never before, have tried every type of wash cycle offered and cant believe the amount of time it takes to clean clothes. Over one hour??? My Maytag may have agitated the heck out of a load but in less than 30 minutes everything was clean. Ive had to re-wash load after load of the most basic everyday stains. I was hoping the larger drum would allow me to cut my laundry time down but that is not the case, and find myself putting a few things in at a time so they get washed. Im stuck with this piece of crap and have only had it for one month... Cant wait for it to start breaking down and dealing with repairs as so many of these comments mention. I miss my Maytag!!!
I love Whirpool products. They work well, even under hard water conditions. Ive had my Whirlpool washer/dryer for 12 years now without one single problem. Even with the hard water problem in my house, the clothes still come out clean, the dryer works well, I do clean my vent each and every time after each dry. I also have to clean the area where I put my detergent in due to the hard water and the machines are still working great.
We bought a house almost 10 years ago and it included a Maytag washer and dryer. About 5 years ago, we decided to buy the Whirlpool front loaders. What a mistake as the washer shook every time it ran. After several warranty service calls and days of vacation waiting for the service, they finally said they couldnt do anything. During that time I had been in contact with Whirlpool and asked for them to take them back. Of course they wouldnt. I asked for a swap for top load washer and they would need to also replace the dryer to match: still no deal. It took a letter from a lawyer to make it happen. They also bought back the washer and dryer stands which covered the lawyers costs. So shortly after I received the Cabrio washer and matching dryer, the lid is very heavy which I believe the lid spring broke. I refused to call the service company as I did not want to go thru that crap again. I also know I can fix it myself easier and without all the drama. I keep waiting for another failure but so far all is acceptable. Whirlpool is not the same company as they were when I made my living doing warranty service for Whirlpool! 30 years ago they were the best in the industry. The Maytag pair was giving to our relative and they are still working flawlessly. Unfortunately Whirlpool now owns Maytag. This experience has cost Whirlpool replacing our kitchen appliances. As much as I want to buy American, I will go with Bosch or LG only.
Purchased Cabrio set last year. Worst set I have ever owned! Clothes do not come clean. Takes forever to wash. Must wash multiple times to get clothes clean, even on deep water settings. Does not spin water out of sheets and blankets. Dryer dries unevenly. Waiting on repairman because dryer will not come on.
I bought a Cabrio from Costo less than 2 years ago. Dryer so far so good (big barrel with hair dryer so what could go wrong?). Washing machine is HORRIBLE. Lid latch broke (couple hundred to repair). Now out of the blue I get an F2 error & machine is completely inoperable. I am only user & very careful with it. There should be a recall on this expensive junk. NEVER buy Cabrio or maybe any Whirlpool appliances again. Ive never written a bad review btw.
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer approximately 4 years ago thinking we were purchasing a top-of-the-line washer. The first year went great. I was very impressed with how it washed. My clothes came out cleaner than ever before; I loved it. But shortly after the warranty expired, one of the water pumps began leaking out all over the floor. We found out that a coin had passed through the barrel down into the pump and caused the plastic pump to crack with the high speed spin. We replaced that pump at a cost of over $100. We shopped around to find the part as reasonable as possible. The machine worked fine for about another 10 months, then it happened again. The new pump began spitting out water all over the floor. So again, we found another coin, another crack in the pump and again replaced it, another $100+. Finally, a third time, it was the same thing; the pump cracked due to a coin. This time, it was the pump on the opposite side, but still, water was all over the floor. This time, we ordered the part through Whirlpool and complained about this happening for a third time. My husband asked them about the Lemon Law and he was told that he would have had to purchase all of the pumps through Whirlpool. What does that have to do with it? We bought the pumps where we could afford them! The washer cost about $700 to begin with, and within 4 years, weve spent approx. $400 more? Thats not the end of it though. Now we are hearing loud noises and there is water all over the floor again every time you wash. This time, its not the pumps though. It appears that it has something to do with the bearings and maybe a seal somewhere around the barrel itself. But you can hear something knocking around - it sounds almost like a nut. We are going to call a local repairman to come and look at it tomorrow. This is just ridiculous. I feel like weve been completely duped over this purchase. The salesman talked this up like it was the cream of the crop and weve had nothing but problems. My last washing machine was a Kenmore and it lasted nearly 15 years and not once did I have to call a repairman or buy parts for it! Guess what Im going to buy again? If Whirlpool would just acknowledge these problems and fix them for people, it might renew faith in your company. I know I dont know the inner workings of a washing machine, but it seems to me that a screen prior to the pumps to keep coins from entering the pumps wouldve been a very cheap fix to a huge problem. I also own the Cabrio dryer and have hated it since the day I got it. It never dry things with one cycle. I always have to run it a second time. Knock on wood though, I have never had any breakdowns with that. I can guarantee my next buy will not be Whirlpool, nor will I pick expensive models again. I bought the cheap stuff years ago and it lasted forever! Im very nervous because I bought a Whirlpool fridge last year and I am praying I have no problems with that!
I did not purchase the washer (Cabrio Top Load Clothes Washer) but inherited it in a home sale. Never had a non agitator. I was excited for this new washer. After a week I knew why they left it! My clothes did not seem clean; stains were still on them, when I used the delicate cycle a pair of pants went in folded and came out folded!!! I also would have to redistribute the clothes every time I had a load that was larger than five pieces, because it would stop. I would actually have to take clothes out and spin what was remaining then put those in the dryer and put the other clothes back in and spin those again. I was told I needed to use OxiClean on top of my normal detergent in order to get my clothes clean. Never again will I purchase a Whirlpool. Just bought an LG; fingers crossed.
Why do I have to select a star? This product deserves none. My experience with a brand new washer has been horrible. I purchased the washer/dryer Whirlpool set from Lowes on 7/1/17. The washer does not agitate and it makes a zooming noise for hours, I have to eventually shut it off and take my clothes to the laundromat. Technicians have come out 4-5 times to “fix” it and replace parts and it is still not working. I called Whirlpool today again and they want to send a technician out again. I told them I cant keep missing work to wait for a technician which is costing me money. But they don’t care. They should be ashamed of selling these manufacturer defected products and then simply refuse to take them back. I wasted around $1700/set on their defected washer and I hope they make it last as they will not sell another product it depends on me purchasing it.I am livid to see how cowardly these big corporations get away with treating the little guy so poorly. But, that is ok, Im in tears right now as I lost my hard earn money and will now have to buy a new washer/dryer set as yours simply don’t work. You just want to continue doing patchwork instead of taking the appliance back and researching what you did wrong to avoid selling these defected products to consumers. Very unfortunate. So if you are reading this review, please don’t buy their products. And big stores like Lowes and HD should stop selling this brand. I’m more angry at the way I’ve been treated by Whirlpool. Rita the resolution specialist made it sound like its my fault the machine wont work. Here is their # 1800-253-1301. If you want to ask any questions about their repair warranty.
We bought a Whirlpool Washing machine a couple of years ago. We have been having problems. It does not get the clothes clean and laundry has an odor to it. We bought it at HHGreg by the Dayton mall in Centerville, Ohio and also bought the extended warranty. It was the largest capacity machine they had in Whirlpool so I dont need to mention what we spent for this thing. We have had a service tech out 3 times. The first time he replaced a part. It still didnt fix it. So they were out two other times saying nothing was wrong with it. Not only is it not getting the clothes clean, but is putting lint pieces all over the laundry. The warranty place already said if they come out again and they cannot find out what is wrong, then we would have to pay for the service call. We then went to the store we bought the machine and talked to the manager. We got no help from him. All he did was throw us back to the warranty place. Not to mention, the family is having itching problems with their skin because the clothes are not only not getting clean but the soap is not rinsing out. In other words, we are suppose to eat this expense and move on. This is a new machine!!!!! And all it is worth is taking it to a metal place to scrap out!!!!! We will never buy another Whirlpool product again. It is really **. They don’t back their products up and do the consumer right. There are a lot of complaints online about the same identical thing I am writing about. They should reimburse the people the money that they wasted. Thank you.
Ive only had my matching set of Duet Washer and dryer for 14 months when the noise got so bad that we could wash when we were at home. We would start a load and leave. I bought the Repair plus one and Whirlpool and said they would give me $599.00 to replace my machine. I cant buy one for $599.99. They said they replace when I purchased the warranty, but now Im told at 75% of its value because its between 1-5 years old. Now, Ive paid $300.00 for the warranty and will half to spend another $200.00 to replace it. Im frustrated and disgusted with Whirlpool.
This product deserves ZERO stars! I purchased a Cabrio washer - dryer in October, 2013. I have carefully followed the instructions for the washer. I am hugely distressed about the large amount of money I spent on a washer that is absolutely terrible, horrible, awful., no words can adequately express how bad this so-called washer is. The low-water washing has torn up all of my new towels in the matter of a couple of washes. It has completely ripped out the hems of the towels and pulled long ragged strings in the towel. And these were not cheap towels. I am mad at myself for not researching better before buying. I hope my complaint can save another consumer from the misery I am suffering because of this shameful product.
My wife and I purchased our Whirlpool Duet Model # WFW95HEDC 7/19/16. I put my first claim in on 12/19/16. We were sitting downstairs one night watching tv and all of a sudden a noise like the sound of a tractor trailer putting on its jake brake came roaring from upstairs. It was so loud that we both jumped. The machine would periodically vibrate violently while going thru its spin cycle. The frequency started to get closer and closer together. Whirlpool had a technician come to our home. They came out 3 times and said that nothing was wrong. They said that it was vibrating because it was on a pedestal and upstairs on a non solid floor. They also blamed the loose water hose on the noise. SERIOUSLY??? After the 3rd visit, and a week before the 4th visit our machine started to leak. We paid $1,079.00 for this washer and we were having to take our laundry to a laundromat to wash it. The technician came out the 4th time and replaced a cracked drum. Apparently it vibrated so badly that the drum cracked. So everything seemed ok, then WHALAH!!! We wash the clothes and go to move it to the dryer and it is dripping wet. Somehow after they replaced the drum the machine started to not spin the water from the clothes very well. Takes drying the clothes for 50min 2x to get them dry. I am now set to have the appliance company come out for a 5th time and still not corrected. Whats worse is that every time I contact Whirlpool they give me the same canned speech and want to set up another appointment with the appliance company. I am soon at the year mark with my manufacturers warranty and still having issues. I think Whirlpool keeps kicking the can down the road without making good on correcting the issue so they can get past the year mark and make us take it up with Home Depot on our extended service plan. I feel bad for everyone out there who got screwed by this company.
I purchased a top load Whirlpool Washer and Dryer in April 2021. When it was installed I commented about how noisy it was. I was told it was because it was empty, but it will be much quieter once you put in a load of laundry. That did not make any difference. I called Whirlpool customer service and explained I had just purchased it less than a week ago and it appeared to be very noisy. I was told they could send someone out, but if they determined there was not a problem I would be charged a service call. I said the machine is not even a week old why would I be charged a service call shouldnt this be a warranty issue. Again I was told there would be a service call charge.I am completely baffled at the customer service response. This is the first and only time I called. I contacted the store where I purchased both the washer and dryer and was told it should not be that loud, this is the first time anyone has complained about the noise level and there should not be charge. Whirlpool has terrible customer service and I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product again because of the customer service. I have purchased numerous appliances in my lifetime and have never been treated so poorly. If I could return both the washer and dryer I would not hesitate. I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone.
I purchased a Duet Dryer less than a year ago and it stopped working. Got the warranty people to send someone to diagnose it. The repair person ordered two parts to fix it (they took the control panel off the order for some reason). They sent a second inept person to try and install the part they did send and it did not work (He was the most condescending person I have ever met but that is another story.). Of course it did not work and they actually have to replace the control panel AND the electrical panel (which as you know was ordered by the original tech, but taken off the order by who knows?). Now they are telling me that the part that they should have ordered 2 weeks ago is on back order until sometime in May. All I am getting from Whirlpool is lip service and they honestly do not care one tiny little bit that I have a dryer under warranty that will not have been working now for close to six weeks. This is unacceptable business practices. For the record I bought the unit at LOWES and they too refuse to stand behind the product. Basically told me tough they have nothing to do with it. I also purchased an $8000 Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) Refrigerator 5 years ago and the control panel went out about 4 years later. They stopped making the part and I have to THROW away an $8000 refrigerator because they dont make the part for it. As evidenced above, Whirlpool products do not stand the test of time and when they do break (even under warranty), they cannot fix them in a timely manner or at all in the case of the refrig (not under warranty). I caution every reader of this diatribe to choose wisely WHERE you purchase your appliances and carefully select a brand other than Whirlpool (and its brand affiliates of Kitchenaid, Jenn-air, Amana and certain Kenmore products).
I regret buying this washer. No complaint about the dryer but this washer has been the worst investment I have ever made. My clothes gets tangled up - seems like theyre not as clean as with my old washer which by the way I still have. I wanted a bigger set because I hated spending days off doing laundry but I spend as much time rewashing again and getting clothes untangled.
I purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer and paid for the extended warranty from Lowes about 5 years ago. After about a year, the washer had problems with excessive vibration and noise. Under Lowes warranty, a repairman came and adjusted the level. He came out several more times and made other adjustments, replaced the drum, then bearings and raised the level again. He said he could not declare the washer a lemon, even though it was because they were told this was taboo. They were instructed to do whatever they could to keep the washer going throughout the life of the warranty. Now the washer stops mid-cycle and an fl or f1 error code appears on the control board. I contacted Customer Service who said I can purchase another extended warranty for over $300 or pay their repairman for the visit including parts and labor. What I paid for the extended warranty and to purchase a new one would pay for a new washer.
I have front load washer and dryer; I have had them for 16 years and this year is the only year that I have any repairs done and it was only the dryer and it was minor repairs for parts and labor ($200).
My husband AND I purchased our Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer from Lowes in 2011 (Model # WTW7800XW2). About 10 months after I purchased this I noticed a hairline crack on the right side of the frame that holds the glass top near the hinge. I didnt think to much of this. I figured it may have been screwed to tight when manufactured. A few days ago I noticed the lid wasnt sitting flat and saw the crack had gotten much worse. The Cabrio lid is made with a heavy piece of glass inside a plastic frame allowing you to see through the top. Its pretty obvious that the plastic frame is not durable enough to hold the heavy piece of glass.I called Lowes and they told me that because I didnt purchase their extended warranty that I should contact Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool and was told it was a cosmetic defect because the washer still works. They also told me my washer is outside of its warranty so they would schedule someone to fix it but I was 100% responsible for the repair costs (which I found out will be $400). Out of curiosity I googled this issue online and found numerous people complaining about this exact same issue. When I told this to the customer service agent at Whirlpool, she said there werent enough people to recall the product. Why should I spend $400 when it was a design flaw that caused this problem? I found out the year after my washer was made, the lid was redesigned with a much sturdier frame, Coincidence? I think not!I havent had any problems thus far with the dryer but with the experience Ive had with this washer will make me never by another Whirlpool product again. I cant believe they wont stand by their product! Obviously they know this has been a major complaint on this model from 2011 because it was changed the following year. I have purchased many Whirlpool appliances over the years but dealing with this issues has been frustrating. Im so disappointed in Whirlpool and their lack of integrity!
The Whirlpool washer and dryer I bought new four years ago has been nothing but a giant on-going headache. No end to the error codes for washing machine. The dryer knobs broke off after two years. The washing machine works only when it feels like it, and important pieces that get a lot of wear are made of plastic. I will never buy Whirlpool again. Ever. Good luck to anyone that is brave enough to buy Whirlpool appliances. I have to say it again: Whirlpool is garbage, junk and unreliable.
Purchased this Upright freezer model 160NZTQ02 approximately 2 years ago. Freezer had problems maintaining temperature from the beginning. Noticed it freezing up at air vents in back of interior. Unplugged, removed contents, and let defrost by ambient temperature (approximately 4 hours). After using this method for first three defrost periods (approximately two weeks apart) I began defrosted with hair dryer, then moved on to heat gun. Bottom line is this junk wont hold temperature and freezes up every few days to a week. No more Whirpool for me.
I purchased my Cabrio washer and dryer 2 1/2 years ago, and for the past 6 months, I have dealt with it being unbalanced and I tried everything to get it balanced. When I researched the problems, I found so many other consumers are having the same problems and that Whirlpool will do nothing about it. I decided to start a petition on Change website to try to force Whirlpool to stand behind their product and correct the problem, offer us a refund or another product, or even fix the darn thing. It is tough economic times, and we spent money to have something that was energy-efficient as well as a product that is supposed to carry a good name. I am a single mother with three children, and I dont have a $1000.00 to throw away after 2 years. This is shameful that we, the consumers, have to deal with this. Please go to the Change website and sign my petition. The more signatures I get, the more leverage we have to deal with Whirlpool. Lets pull together and show Whirlpool we will not stand for them robbing us of a quality product. Thank you so very much.
Washer does not clean clothes period. Darks come out covered with white soap residue and smell dirty regardless of how little soap is used or with using extra rinse, which takes 84 minutes by the way. Whites only seem slightly cleaner since hot water is used and you cant see the soap residue. If you wash more than 5 or 5 items at a time some do not even get completely wet. Just waiting for it to break down next according to the other reviews. I spent a lot of money to get a nice washer and dryer and ended up with junk. Id rather have an old 1970 washer, probably designed better and most likely would clean better.
I bought 2 Cabrio washing machines for my two homes along with the matching dryers. They worked for about 3 months, then the washers displayed OL Error during any wash cycle. I tried to contact manufacturer and have not been able to get service without charge. After reading the many posts I am not sure if I should dump both or start investing $$$ in service calls.
I purchased a washing machine and dryer 1 year ago. Since then it has started to get spots on the control panel where you select size, temperature, etc. I also purchased an extended warranty through Home Depot and is still under warranty for 3 years. I was told for a few more days is still under man warranty. I contacted Whirlpool and they said it is not their problem and sounds cosmetic - I think this is unfair being that I spent a lot of money and it has started appearing on the washer and dryer. No one wants to be responsible. I am a consumer who is very careful and have not had any spills or cleaned it with anything.
I have had the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer for the last two years. I HATE them. We purchased them from Lowes at a price point of around $800 each. What we expected and what we got were two different things. The washer was horrible from the beginning. It is impossible to wash a load of clothes without the UL unbalanced load indicator. It is impossible to balance a load. I have taken wet clothes out and put them back in with no luck. It takes hours for a load to finally wash. I have all but given up as I have been told it us unrepairable and too costly! Now the dryer has decided it will no longer dry clothes. It has never been a good dryer but now it takes at least 120 minutes to dry jeans. Do not buy a Whirlpool! I will never have another Whirlpool product in my home... RIP OFF.
Purchase at 2014 and still working and nowadays, they dont make refrigerators, washer or dryers to last more than 3 to 4 years. The quality of appliances, really such since the manufacturers are greedy. And after the 5 year Warranty expires, only Lowes buys back the the appliances and Home Depot. Their Warranty specifies that you have to purchase from them to replacement of an appliances if purchased from them!??? Therefore I would not buy any appliance from them. A refrigerator, washer or dryer, you can take parts from each one and build a whole new appliance, which is very disappointing! TO ME THIS IS BAD BUSINESS FOR AMERICANS, not all people know this by experiencing this yourself and I let people know about my experiencing this myself, manufacturers should make products in The United States of America???
I bought a Whirlpool Dryer after reading an excellent review in Consumer Reports, despite it costing more than I wanted to spend. The first thing I noticed was a thump, thump, thump with every rotation of the drum. Then I realized that it took twice as long to dry my laundry as my 45 yr. old GE dryer, which only needed a belt, but which wasnt available anymore. I was disappointed in the Whirlpools performance, but that was only the beginning. One night when the dryer was less than 3 months old, I was in bed for the night and I heard the familiar thump of the dryer running. I went downstairs and could not stop it as it did not respond to anything on the digital control panel. I finally unplugged it. I called Whirlpool and they sent a new control panel, but I had to pay the service man.Not too long after that, the dryer heated up, but the drum would not turn. The serviceman said that it had come off track and he reset it. Shortly after, the door would not stay closed as the clamp that held it shut had fallen inside when I pushed the door closed. I replaced that. Then the drum continued to come disengaged because it was out-of-round. But, of course, the dryer was out of the 90 day warranty period too and a drum replacement would have cost more than the piece of junk was worth. So, I had it put back on for what I told myself would be the last time. Well, it was the last because the control panel went bonkers again and would go on by itself and only ran on one cycle if I plugged it in and unplugged it when it was done. I finally gave up and bought an inexpensive analog GE dryer which I never had any trouble with and dried the clothes in less time with less noise.
I havent had my Whirlpool Cabrio washer for even 5 years and I have had to replace the glass lid and now the tub bearings need to be replaced... I have read countless complaints for the same issue. I feel like Whirlpool should at least send out free replacement bearings and the $85.00 bearing press tool that you will need if youre handy enough to fix the problem yourself. PS to all of the poor victims of Whirlpool bearings, go to Amazon and you can buy the bearings and the tool for about $150.00. You will need to order bearings part #10435302 and the bearing driver tool #w10447783... And as far as my matching dryer - knock on wood - it still runs great.
I have had my washer dryer set for only 3 years and have all the problems that have already been posted. Whirlpool has no recall on this washer (Cabrio) and does not plan on helping out anybody in any way. Their solution is pay for everything out of pocket or buy their one year warranty for ironically the price of what a new motor, and any of the other common items that are breaking would cost. And this is only good for ONE year. With the history of this company I would expect this to last at least ten years or longer before we start discussing replacing anything. I also had a Maytag that I had a problem with and did not get anywhere with that either. Whirlpool/Maytag, you need to stand behind your product. Your name is not going to get you anywhere nowadays. This blog has a spot about legal representation. If you can help me, please contact me.
I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer on March 2010 from Leons under the dont pay for 18 months. It took 2 months for me to receive it. I thought it was a great washing machine. I made my last payment on July 2011.On the first week of August, the machine stopped working. The F 51 code appeared. I then looked up the code. I also looked up complaints. I called Whirlpool customer service and was told it would be $81.00 per hour for service plus parts. I asked why there are so many complaints about this machine, and after spending a good amount of money on what I believed was a good make of washing machine, I could not believe that they would expect a customer to then turn around and fork out that kind of money for repair.I was told that the one year warranty has expired, so it is my responsibility to pay. I am a widow with 2 children, working 7 days a week to pay my regular bills and now they expect me to pay for repairs on a washing machine that is only 15 months old. Thanks Whirlpool. I will be sure to tell everyone not to purchase Whirlpool products and thanks to my neighbors for letting me use their washing machine because I cant afford to fix mine.
Whirlpool owned or bought out Maytag. My Maytag Washer (purchased a dryer also) was a disaster from day one. The previous set I owned (Maytag) was 20 years old when I decided to replace it. From day one, the washer literally walked across the floor while turned on (Maytag Performa). I had to sit there and virtually hold it down if I wanted to get my wash done. I called and called and they would eventually come out only to tell me that this was a substandard product from Maytag and I had better buy the extended warranty. After only 7 years, the washer completely stopped working and the dryer (Maytag) is falling apart. I purchased new Samsung washer and dryer and I absolutely love them. So you whine all you want about Samsung underselling you. I contacted you several times and all I received was lip service. I will never purchase a Maytag or Whirlpool washer and dryer and I’ll let all of my friends know about your terrible customer service!
I have had this Whirpool Cabrio washer now for one year. Clothes always come out wrinkled (even after drying). It leaves clothes unclean and leaves white streaks in clothes. Water level is so low in, that it cannot rinse or wash clothes properly. After washing towels, when removed to put in the dryer, soap is left in towels. I have had a repairman here, he says the design is bad, yet reports works as designed. Dont buy this washer. This is a piece of junk!
I have always purchased Whirlpool products and when we were hit with a flood I had to purchase a new washer & dryer. Naturally I bought Whirlpool. I have regretted this purchase ever since. I wish I had known about this website before my purchase & been able to read the reviews. This washing machine is the worst appliance I have ever purchased. The clothes get clean SOMETIMES. It takes FOREVER to do a normal size load of wash. I will have to think long and hard before ever buying a Whirlpool appliance again. I cant believe you ever made such an inferior product. You should be ashamed of yourselves for duping the public.
I bought a brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer set -Cabrio- $1700.00 in 2011. It is by far the worst washing machine I have ever purchased, and I am 60 years old!!! It is now three years old and has been repaired at least 4 times. Long story short... after hours & hours on the phone, along with many threats! (By the way I had to ask for a manager two times up the ladder for this to happen as they just kept repeating that it was out of warranty coverage). I also told them that I was going to have one of my company trucks deliver this machine to Sears lot, along with a paid person to inform every shopper of my plight with this washer and the lack of service from Sears and Whirlpool! Whirlpool finally agreed to pay for the parts but not the labor on this most current repair. (This time it is the transmission!! In the past it was the Hub, twice. The gear case twice and the belt a number of times). I am now going back to Sears to request (that might not be the correct word) Demand, that they take care of the service bill for this machine. In between repairs, I have dealt with ongoing cleaning quality problems. This machine does not get clothes clean. I always have to wash them twice. This machine is loud. This machine does not use enough water to even dissolve the soap. So much for energy saving measures when you have to wash twice and still see soap and crud in the tub. Worst, worst, ever washing machine in my life!! By the way, I have an 8 year old Maytag too that I have never had to repair. Moral of the story, buy Maytag, or at least do not buy a Cabrio!!!!
Purchased the Cabrio top loading washer and dryer. Huge mistake. The clothes come out of the washer a tangled wrinkle mess. Have tried different cycles and water levels to no avail. Dark clothes have detergent streaks and lint. The dryer has a steam refresh cycle which Ive used to try and remove some of the wrinkles caused to no avail. Clothes come out with water spots. Ive only owned this dual for about 6 months. Take my advice and DO NOT PURCHASE!!!
I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer about 5 years ago. I wanted to pay for a good pair to last a long time for the money. We have had a repair man out twice for the washer. They ended up replacing the computer board. It worked fine for a few years. Now, it keeps getting the unbalanced error code for almost every load of clothes that we start. Sometimes, it takes 20-30 minutes of rearranging the clothes to get it to finally work. I have had to manually set it to finish the loads on a number of occasions. It is so time consuming to do laundry due to having to play with the clothes to get the loads to finish. Plus, I dont know how many times it has woken up my grandkids because of the loud thumping noise it makes when it gets unbalanced. I have never had a washer do this. I would expect when you pay big bucks for an appliance that it should last a long long time. One usually gets what they pay for. I should have bought a cheaper pair. Then, they probably would have lasted 15 to 20 years.
Rather than replace the heating element in my 15 year old Sears dryer, I opted to replace both my Sears washer and dryer with a new HE Whirlpool. It was the biggest mistake that Ive made. The washer does not have an agitator and the clothes turn into a twisted knot. Deodorant did not wash out of load of three sweaters. When I called tech support, the woman told me that the washer met specification. I suppose that means that it uses only limited water but has nothing to do with the cleanliness of the finished load. I was told by the repairman that future calls regarding unclean clothes would cost me despite a warranty that I purchased from Lowes. He suggested that I wash on using the Bulky Items setting and with a specific laundry soap. The setting provides more water but without the agitator, my clothing turns into a huge knot and comes out of the machine dingy despite washing loads for over 60 minutes at a time. My electric bill has gone up because I have to also add an extra rinse. The machine frequently become unbalanced. My dryers seal started loosening up two years after my purchase and finally became twisted in a sheet and ripped itself loose. Whirlpool has lost all future business with me.
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer & dryer in 2005. After CONTINUED issues with the washer during & after extended warranty, we decided to replace it in 2011. Im not a fan of mismatched sets, so we also replaced the the dryer. After researching the WP Cabrio, we assumed that model was a fluke and reluctantly replaced with the Whirlpool Duet Set. Nearing our warranty expiration, our new washer has stalled for the 3rd time. Sears customer service has been absolutely dreadful since day 1. Original delivery was scheduled incorrectly, so we ended up picking it up. We then spent the next 3 months trying to get our military discount credited back. They promised at time of purchase it would be credited automatically. After 2 hours wasted on the phone today, we are still without a working washer.. or even a date as to when it will be repaired. I was appalled at the condescending phone conversation I had with Sears rep. When service showed up last week, he knew immediately that 1 part was missing. He replaced the other 2 parts, and assured me hed rush the 3rd part and come back out today. Had I not called, we would be receiving a phone call on Friday to say our part was backordered and not available until June. After a long and frustrating conversation, I was told we could have a courtesy $25 max a week for laundry, with a max of $100 per year. I was also told that it wasnt Sears fault the part wasnt ordered when I called the 1st time, and so the 21 day wait period didnt start until the service man caught the mistake. If we hit 21 days from that date, they supposedly will do some sort of swap. I have confirmed with WP that the part is on back order, and frankly they didnt do anything either.. but the rep was much more apologetic. They couldnt do much because our warranty is through Sears and not them directly. My great niece is coming in 2 weeks for the 1st time since she was put on hospice, and I will be without a washer to clean her cloth diapers. She is on a very specific diet and has a feeding tube, so I will have to waste time hand washing clothes instead of savoring her visit. I will never shop at SEARS again. They have continued to go downhill with all the corporate changes. I left the corporate world a couple of years ago, and I can tell you that Sears doesnt take no or sorry from their vendors. Im very upset and intend to take this to another level, which I rarely do.
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer and dryer from HH Gregg and have had continuous issues with the washer. We have had the lid springs replaced two times since we purchased it and they are out again. I called our service company to ask why we have to continue to replace the springs very 6 months and they said it was a problem Whirlpool was having with this unit. I called Whirlpool and after being on the phone for 45 minutes, they told me there was not a recall, but I could buy the parts directly from them for 1/2 price. This amounts to about $20. The repair cost me about $200 every 6 months because it is a difficult installation. Whirlpool is a terrible company to deal with when you have a problem and they do not stand behind their products. I will never buy another Whirlpool product and will tell everyone I know the same.
Our Whirlpool dryer broke less than 3 months after we bought it. We called Whirlpool and spent more than 2 hours on the phone. They sent someone out and that person told us he couldnt fix the part that was broken. He gave us a phone number to call and we called and spent another hour on the phone after which we were told to call Whirlpool back. We called them on 3 separate days and spent hours on the phone trying to contact real people. After another week (during which time the dryer went out of warranty) we had to call someone to fix it. After that we spend a month calling and emailing Whirlpool to get reimbursed for the almost $400 we spent fixing it. No luck. We were told that it was out of warranty and we didnt use a Whirlpool technician. I was hung up on, given the runaround through phone menus, continually told it wasnt the correct department, and finally that Whirlpool doesnt cover it. Bottom line is...never buy Whirlpool.
Unfortunately, I can not rate this machine LESS than one star. I would rate it ZERO. We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine model WTW7800XW0, 2 1/2 years ago in 2011. Since that time, we have had nothing but trouble from this machine. The machine basket gets off center when you have heavy items in there like jeans or a large load of towels and just stops working until you raise the lid and even out the clothing in the basket. If you wash something like a throw or a set of sheets in it, they get all twisted and wrapped around the thing in the center and end up in a big mound. We have had the glass top lid replaced on this machine TWO times over the last 2 years because the plastic frame on the lid around the glass cracked and broke and became warped in a raised position. This caused the machine to stop working because the machine will not wash clothing unless the door is locked down, and the door cant lock if the lid is cracked and warped and broken. So you have to set something heavy on top of the lid to get the lid to lock so you can wash a load of clothing! TWO times we have had repair people out to our home to replace the lid and now the lid is cracked and broken again, for the THIRD time! This is THREE broken lids in just over 2 years. Unacceptable!! The hinges on the lid that attach the lid to the machine are also rusted. This rusting has happened on all the lids that we have had replaced in the last 2 years. I will never, NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product again, EVER. Their products are inferior quality and JUNK. We have the Whirlpool dryer also to match the junk washing machine and the quality is just as bad but we are living with it because we have no choice right now. It takes 2 hours to get a load of clothing dry and forget drying jeans or towels; it takes forever! Whirlpool makes a dreadful product and their customer service is even more dreadful. =(
I bought a matched set of Whirlpool washer and dryer. Within about 3 months the dryer quit running on any of its cycles except heavy duty. About a month after that the washer started messing up. First it quit putting in the bleach. Next it quit adding water except under the heavy duty cycle. Then after about another week or so it quit putting in fabric softener. After a couple of more months it only uses hot water. Now not quite a year after I purchased it the washer now only adds water in the wash mode and not the rinse cycle. Now all this would not be a problem except I had lost the warranty cards and in their website would not let me register it online.
Have had no problems and we have both washer and dryer Duet and love them. We need to make sure we keep the washer door slightly open to avoid mold. The dryer lint filter is a little difficult to vacuum out.
Our Whirlpool Duet Washer pair is 2.5 yrs old. The washer didnt work at first, but a repairman found the problem and fixed it right up. They have not broken. The dryer has been fine and we have had them stacked for most of the time without any issues. My problem sounds minor compared to those others listed here, but this thing is ruining all our white or light colored clothes. They go in white, and come out covered with splotchy, dirty looking spots literally all over them! They werent that kind of dirty when they went in. It’s the oddest thing, like it makes dirt. Reading some of these concerns makes me wonder if it has a mold problem inside somewhere, and that is what is ruining our clothes. Tax return is coming and it is going. End of story.
We bought a duet washer and dryer about 3 1/2 years ago. In that time, we had many error codes that we had to research online and fix. We have replaced many things to date. However, this last code,F70, has really been the last straw. Basically you are better off buying a new washer and staying away from Whirlpool. We had a company tech come and diagnose the washer. This code says that its the interface board. The company has replace this board 3 times and the code is still coming up. They have basically replaced everything in our washer and the code remains the same. Nothing is fixing it. They have had Whirlpool-certified employees come in to look at the washer and are unable to fix it as well. They have been trying to fix it for 2 months. I called Whirlpool corporate office and they informed me that the company that we went with is not Whirlpool-certified, therefore the only thing they will do is either give us 15 % of our money back if we were to by a new washer, or we can have a certified dealer come out and diagnose it again. Well, that is just a waste of time. We already know whats wrong with it and would have to pay again to have it diagnosed or we totally loose a lot of money. I feel that Whirlpool really should stand behind their products, considering the price tags they have on them. They should last much longer than 3 1/2 years. I will not by another Whirlpool product again. Apparently, Whirlpool doesnt seem to care about loosing customers. I dont feel that they deserve any stars but it doesnt allow to pick a negative number.
In the last two years I have purchased a new Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer with base, Whirlpool Gold refrigerator, and (less than a year) a built-in Whirlpool microwave. I have already had to replace the gaskets on the washer, which required a $65 deductible. I had to spend $65 on my service contract deductible for my dryer as they have had to order me a new motor and thermostat. My refrigerator had an appliance bulb as required installed; however, it still burns the plastic covering. I have not called on that yet. My microwave, which is less than a year old, has a small crack inside the door and part of the handle has broken off.
I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator (dbl dr) from Home Depot and received it on August 4th. When I went to clean it I found that blood had spilled from a roast and had accumulated all around the inside of the plastic shelf seal. It was impossible to clean. Water just ran inside the seal and diluted the blood. Then, it leaked all over my kitchen. I had a serviceman here for another problem, sent by Whirlpool. He said hed try to get them to replace the shelf. Never heard from him again. I called Whirlpool today. Was told I could buy another shelf. Otherwise, they didnt care. Said it wasnt a functional problem. This is a definite health hazard. Whirlpool used to be wonderful. What happened? I have a dryer, washer, and water tank about to need replacing. Whirlpool wont see a dime from me. (Home Depot, either.) This has become a very bad company. Ive contacted the NY Dist. Attys office. Meanwhile, I have a fridge with a major shelf missing for the holidays and for the foreseeable future.
Do not under any circumstance end up with the Whirlpool fabric washer and or dryer in your dwelling to wash and dry your clothes. The washer, model # WTW7000DW0 and dryer, model # WED7000DW0. I am so upset with these units and the company I bought a 5 year extended warranty thru. I cannot put down in words what I think, because this review would not be published. Do not even accept these units, even if they are free. Even the repairmen who have been here said they would not buy these Whirlpool junk washer and or dryer series. They acknowledged the problem and said nothing could be done even though there is a legitimate problem. Not only is there a problem with the washer, the dryer as well has serious issues. All washes have to be put on the deep water cycle and some loads have totally dry spots on clothes where the clothes did not even get wet after the washer went thru the complete cycle. Also, get this, this washing machine even has to be cleaned itself with a cleaning tablet run thru a cleaning cycle. What happens are the clothes get a nasty, slimy, white muck on them. Even, immediately after the washer gets cleaned, sometimes the clothes 32nd up with this muck on them again. If you do not see this muck on your clothes before putting in the junk dryer, then the clothes have to be washed and dried again. This washer is supposed to be efficient, not a chance. It gets costly having to purchase the cleaning tablets and the washer(28th only two people in the household) has to be cleaned a lot more than what the manufacturer says and I called and asked. Pure junk, do yourself and even your enemies a favor, stay away at any cost, and like I said, even if they are free.
Bought the top of the line Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer. Washing machine lasted 3 years. Took forever to do a load and would not be clean after taking an hour to wash. The dryer is still going, but would not surprise me if it died any day. Do not buy.
We have had our Cabrio for one year now and we found the agitation cycle to be loud but we have gotten used to it now. The thing we cannot get used to is the sour smell permeating from it. It smells like a dirty mop. Our washer and dryer are in a small laundry room so when we enter it to get to the garage or bathroom, the smell hits you like a ton of bricks. Stinky!!
My wife and I purchased the Whirlpool calypso washer and dryers and have been regretting ever purchasing a Whirlpool product. Not more than a year and a half after spending thousands of dollars on their products the troubles started. I called the company and they sent someone out to look at it for repair. He vacuumed out the lines and kept restarting it over and over and eventually it started working again and they charged a hundred dollars and something and said there most likely be more problems since they have many calls on this issue. Sure enough it started again and just kept retrying it over and over to get it to work again as well as vacuumed the lines again like he did. Now its at the point it will not work no matter what. It just keeps flashing LD and shuts down. So I did a online search for other consumers having the same problem and was shocked by the amount of the same problem with others (search this model flashing LD and you will see for yourself). When I contacted Whirlpool they played dumb and lied right thru their teeth saying they have no issues with this model and refused to do anything. I have since learned there has been court cases where the courts ruled against them saying that it was defective and had to notify consumers which they never did. Even when the repairman came out nothing was said. I have since learned that all they did was changed the name to a different model which is having the same problem (no kidding!!) and continued to rip the public off in the name of CORPORATE Greed!!!!! I advise everybody never to purchase a Whirlpool product ever again and maybe we can bankrupt them and put them out of business where they belong. All the customer service agents deserve to be unemployed and suffering after long waits on the phone and then lying straight face to the consumers. Pure evil!!!! We all have to stick together and bring these criminals down. How can they say we have no issues when a simple search of Whirlpool Calypso problems with draining and flashing LD and shutting down. There are thousands of people complaining and no action is done. Shame on these people and their souls are lost forever. Never buy a Whirlpool product and tell everybody you know to stay away! They should have their ** and/or ** cut off and have to suffer the same way the struggling consumers are after scrounging up thousands of dollars for a 200-pound metal paper weight that aint worth a damn!!!!
Nice looking, prices very fair for quality product. Options are always good. My mom used Whirlpool. That thing that goes in the middle of the old time washer is now gone. That thing would rip or stretch out clothing bras. Anything that was nice it would make it look horrible. Ive had my washer and dryer for 6 years and they still work like new. When shopping for a washer and dryer I do look for capacity, energy efficient and the brand. I prefer to stick to the old school brands just like my mother did. I must admit that I do love the fact that it is an HD high efficiency washer. The deal-breaker would be a low quality construction made a washer or dryer nobody needs to have problems with it. If youre spending that type of money you need to get good quality items.I love my washer and dryer. Theyre both and white color. Its a Whirlpool Cabrio with HD High efficient load energy saver and H2 wash system. The washer has a lid with a see-through glass which I love. My dryer is also a Whirlpool Cabrio steam with a resource saver that gives me a lot of different options as far as my clothing is concerned on how I need it dry.
WTW8000BW0 washer - This is the worst washer I have ever brought. We bought a pair washer and dryer. The washer started making noise when it was in spin cycle so we called repairman. He came and said it would be better if got rid of it and bought something else. Said it would cost too much to fix and hes seen too many of these. The noise is so loud we close door on laundry room and we cant hear TV in front room. This is the worse junk we have ever brought. Whirlpool should be accountable for this.
I took a load out of my Cabrio washer and put it directly into the dryer. They had been on high spin. Now they are on medium heat. The clothes seem warm whenever I open the dryer to see if they are dry. They are warm... but not dry. There are no towels or jeans in the load either. T-shirts, underwear, etc. Ridiculous! The last load was jeans. Also 3 hours, but I thought maybe I had it on the wrong cycle. Now I think its the machine, not me.
Our washing machine - as part of a stackable set - is two weeks beyond the one year warranty. Washer breaks down, I order the replacement part to find out - after waiting two months for the part - that the washer is now being discontinued so the ETA on the part is NEVER. Ask what Whirlpool will do about this and am advised that they will offer me a discount on a washing machine that does not fit on the stackable dryer. Or I can purchase a new washing machine at more than the original cost of the stackable set. This is a totally unacceptable situation. The washer is just out of the one year warranty period and it is already being discontinued??? Is Whirlpool making disposable appliances now so that after the one year warranty we just toss the appliance in landfill? Really? Unable even to purchase replacement parts to repair a one year old appliance? I will think long and hard about ever purchasing another Whirlpool appliance again.
Very dependable. We loved all of our appliances in the past as well as in the present. It has been a go to for us especially with bad experiences with other brands like OG and GE. We have gotten a washer and a good dryer and have worked. No complaints whatsoever.
We purchased Whirlpool Oasis. The top loader washer and dryer 5 years ago from Sears. Both are scrap now. Paid high end money for these. Tub was changed on washer 2 years after purchased. Now looks like electrical control panel is gone. Oh well, Sears not really the problem because Whirlpool holds the monopoly on appliances. They are made to fail. Watch marketplace or W5 shows the tech men tell the story... You want to get screwed, buy a whirlpool. Hell I did.
My washer and dryer have been a great experience. Doing laundry has never been my favorite chore but these energy efficient and state of the art machines live up to their advertising. One of the best things I like about the washer is the ability to set the run time for a future time. I do wish the dryer had something similar.
We recently purchased a new Whirlpool refrigerator and washer/dryer set from Home Depot. The truck for delivery was late and unable to pick up the refrigerator in time for scheduled delivery. Whirlpool contacted us to inform that it was now on back order for another week claiming there was nothing else they could do. Strike one. We paid for the installation and kit for the washer and dryer set. The tech who delivered them claimed the kit was not correct and that he could not install the dryer. We contacted Home Depot, Whirlpool, and had Home Depot call Whirlpool on our behalf with no resolution. They will not refund the installation even though they didn’t install anything.Whirlpool will not directly say whether or not they will send someone else out to actually install it this time. To top it off - I asked the Whirlpool rep which kit needs to be used and she told me whichever I want... for a gas hook up... whichever I want. This is ridiculous and Whirlpool has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Side note - don’t waste time on the chat feature they provide. You will be directed back to the 800 number with 30 minute hold times. Horrible company!
