We have owned refrigerators for over 40 years. Never had one as bad as this. Three ice maker replacements lasting maybe from 6 months to 2 years. Cap that off with customer service people who by voice and tone could not give a rats ** about helping the customer. Today it took me from 3:10 pm to 5:30 pm to get a real person on the phone. When I did the attitude is so reminiscent of a fast food hamburger joint with arches. Yes they know the refrig and ice maker are and have been a problem but they don’t care cause we have no option. Whirlpool will NEVER SEE ANOTHER penny of my money. Time to look at real appliance makers. Horrible.

The cabrio washer that we purchased in 2010 did a good job of cleaning the clothes but the case started rusting within 6 months. After service calls and e-mails and phone calls, there have been no helpful suggestions beyond buy a complete new case. I hesitate to do that because I am convinced there is a design flaw in the area where the soap dispenser is located which allows the soap to flow between the case and the drum and it eats away theinside of the case through the inadequate paint covering on the outside of the case. It is a mess. Now the instruction panel is bubbling and lifting. I carefully care for my equipment and have kept two washers over 15 years and they still were in good shape with cases still looking new. This is not something I am doing wrong. It is a piece of junk with a terrible paint job and it cost more than any washer I have ever had. I wish I had some recourse. I am on a fixed income and had hoped this would be the last washer I would have to buy. I have photos.

Always buy an extended warranty if you are going to buy a washing machine. Mine cost $129.00 extra and it is not through Whirlpool. Three control panels and two tub bearings later, the extended warranty insurance carrier gave us our money back to buy another machine. My wife loves the operation of the Cabrio, so we bought a WTW8200YW today, in the false hope that it will work much better. We have an extra washing machine in the garage for the three week period before repairs. The serviceman has to come look to verify the problem, then come back when the part arrives.

Have had it replaced. It is not a great value. Need one with freezer on the bottom. Will buy another brand. Not 2 years old making noise and it sounds like someone pounding on the side after the doors are open. This is a side by side fridge and has space but I question when this will go out.

Cabrio Washer WTW6600SW1 - We purchased this washing machine back in January of 2007 and have had nothing but issues with it. We thought Whirlpool was an upstanding brand and weve found out otherwise. They havent stood behind their product or the issues we have had along with all the other people. There has been a Facebook page about the Famous F1 error code. We have had numerous other error codes we have had to pay to have someone come out to fix. We paid almost $700 for this machine and have had to pay out several hundred more dollars just in repairs. Not worth the money and the company doesnt deserve to be in business if they dont back their product. I get buying a warranty, but if they are same problem with so many machines, it sounds like a manufacturing defect to me.

This is the worst washing machine Ive ever purchased. Bought 12/19. The water level never never goes up high enough, to cover the cloths. I have to add water no matter what setting. I hate that. The sensor isnt working. You arent able to adjust it yourself, its computerized. The water shuts off when you lift the lid so you cant rinse out the soap or fabric softener caps. I hate that. The lid locks when the rinse cycle starts so I have to unlock the lid to add fabric softener. Why lock the lid so soon, wait till its in spinning mode. Really really badly designed!!!! Will never buy anything by Whirlpool ever again!

Disappointed with Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer GX2SHBXVY05. We purchase this refrigerator in December 2010 thinking we were buying a good quality french door fridge. It didnt take long before problems started with the freezer over freezing and the fridge not cooling. We also had a problem with water pooling on the bottom of the freezer then freezing into a solid piece of ice. Water eventually started pooling on the kitchen floor and living room carpet. We did not purchase the extended warranty believing we shouldnt have had to as we were believing a good name brand. After having a repair person in twice we were told we needed a new computer board and switch. Total cost for repair $350.00 plus previous charges, so far adding up to over $450.00. We called Whirlpool customer service, was a waste of time as they simply told me they could send out their own repair person to obtain the same diagnosis I already had. They told me I should have purchased the warranty. I told them I shouldnt have needed to. Whirlpool customer service refused to do anything for me as it was too long past the 1 year limited warranty. Doing my own research I found this to be a problem with a great many Whirlpool fridge owners and I mentioned this to their customer service and mentioned there should be a recall. I will no longer purchased another Whirlpool product as the company does not stand behind their product.

Whirlpool built in Electric oven Self Cleaning Model # GBS307. Dont Clean your oven! Everytime you clean the oven, the thermal fuse switch will burn up on you and will cost approximately $150.00 to fix. Dont use the self cleaning on this oven!

We purchased a Whirlpool (gas) range with double oven, in April of this year. We found that the upper oven over heats, on the right side, and therefore burns or bakes unevenly.The repair company will be out for the fourth time tomorrow. They have been very nice to deal with, but really have not been able to repair or come up with any definitive plan of repair action.

Cabrio is our washer and dryer. Dryer had no issues in the last 7 years. Washer constantly throw UL or unbalanced error and stops. Rearranging clothes only works for another few minutes. First time under warranty, tech came and fixed it. Second time without warranty, I cleared some loose socks between the tub. Third time same problem. YouTube suggested to change the springs on four corners that hold the tub. $25 and problem fixed. Basically, if you are not an informed consumer you are screwed for $$ silly stuff.

I purchased a home in March of 2013. When I bought the home, I noticed it had a new Whirlpool 50-gallon gas 6th sense hot water heater model number ND50T122-403. It was newer and I thought it was a good selling point and would last many years. The original owner had purchased the heater in March of 2011. Three months after I moved in, the control valve went bad - 4 flash eco lockout. I called Whirlpool. They sent out the replacement part. I had to pay for shipping express delivery. Since then the control valve has gone out 2 more times, a total of 3 times in one year. On the third time, they gave me a return number for a replacement. I dont even want this heater for free. I am still required to pay for installation and additional installation parts. This product is terrible. Save yourself a headache. Do not buy this product!

Purchased a Side By Side refrigerator just 16 months back and this is the Third time the ice maker has failed. Who makes JUNK like this?? Is there not One company that can make anything to last at least three years. I am disgusted with the junk we bought that has Whirlpool on it. I should Sue Home Depot and Whirlpool for Fraud.

My landlord replaced our old Whirpool topload washer with a Whirlpool HE topload machine last year. Looks sleek, lots of settings BUT IT DOES NOT GET CLOTHES CLEAN - not on any setting, not if loaded as recommended or under-loaded, not if I use more or less detergent, and not if I follow all the tips for getting rid of residue. This machine so under-performs I have to spot clean my clothes AFTER I was them. And were not talking deep dirt or grime here, or things that need special treatment, Just ordinary dirt dirt, to which the machine adds gray streaks of dirty water residue. Thank God I didnt buy this turkey for myself -- I will NEVER buy one of these machines. I did two small rugs today and they came out dingier than they went in. These machines should be recalled. If I could give it less than one star, I would.

I love my washer and dryer but am a little disappointed in a few areas. First, my washer stopped spinning normally after a few years, I forget exactly why. Then my clothes were too wet when it was done. My dryer then did not get my clothes dry in one cycle. Also, it was going to cost $500 to fix my washer which wasnt worth it. But Whirlpool did send us a new tub and all the parts for free. Thankfully my husband is handy and after finding a YouTube video, replaced it all and now it works again. My dryer still doesnt always dry everything all the way. I often have to do 2-3 cycles in the dryer to get my clothes dry. I thought there was supposed to be a sensor that would keep the dryer going until there was no more moisture. Maybe that is broken too.

Bought Sep. 2012. April 2016 stopped cooling. Four visits over 4 weeks, various parts replaced, coolant refilled. Stopped cooling again soon after first 3 visits. After 4th visit cooled moderately (42 degrees) for 5 weeks. June 24, renewed service contract for 1 year for $112. July 12, stopped cooling! Took 8 days for service person to arrive; 5 days for him to tell Whirlpool that repair needed 5 parts, one of which is no longer made! But they sold me a service contract?? 16 days after initial call, Whirlpool says my case is in adjudication, which will take 7-10 business days. So I wont know what they are offering till Aug. 8th-11th. Four weeks living out of a cooler. The product is rotten, and the service is worse.Just recently discovered that all this time when I thought I was talking to Whirlpool, it was actually sub-contracted to AIG. Yes, the AIG that needed a massive government bail-out. Whirlpool customer service refused to talk to me; referred me back to AIG. The only other all-refrigerator (no freezer - I have a 20-year-old Sears freezer in the kitchen that works just fine) I can find is an inch too tall for the space. But I plan to spend for my handyman to raise the cupboard floor above, rather than buy another Whirlpool! Most of May, four weeks in July/Aug without a fridge. Hours on hold. The first service firm they used was incompetent, couldnt find the cause. I wonder how much of my $1,353 purchase cost, and my $112 service contract theyll refund?

I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio top loader set in 2006. Honeymoon was over after the first year and I had to change the dryer element then the washer with the F51 code six months later. Last year, I had to replace the heating element again! For the last six months, I have been dealing with the dreaded UL on the washer. I cant afford to pay a technician $100 to come out and tell me whats wrong let alone what they will charge to repair a problem that, from the looks of this message board, will never be fixed. I have no choice but to get it fixed in order to sell the ** machine. I paid $1400 for this brand new set and have already invested $500 in repairs. How is this possible? I had a 20-year-old machine prior to this and never had an issue. There are lemon laws for cars, why arent there any for appliances over a certain amount? How in this day and age can a company be allowed to sell such garbage? I will never, ever buy another Whirlpool appliance as long as I live. Any other brand can have my money any day.

Bought the Cabrio washer in March 2011. Have had the same problems as everyone else. The machine is constantly off-kilter, does not wash well due to lack of water. Sounds like a freight train when spinning. Bulky clothes dont drain properly and have to be rinsed and drained a second time. After one year of ownership, the entire control panel had to be replaced. The next year, the same control panel had to be replaced again plus a water valve had to be replaced. Thank God I bought the extended warranty. The repairs would have cost me $1000, more than I paid for the washer in 2011. Total piece of junk. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!

We purchased our new home in February of 2012 and found a good deal on a 6 appliance package from a local dealer (not box store). In these four years, had to replace igniter in gas range oven. Weve had 3 repair visits for the fridge, dead ice-maker, temperature imbalance freezing vegetables, meat drawer constantly falling off tracks, door shelf rails fall off and all shelf contents fall to floor. Dishwasher rinse dispenser has never functioned, never empties. Technician claims it is working as designed. Washing machine - 3 separate service calls. We finally decided to buy a different brand last year. Only the dryer and microwave have have performed as expected with no service calls. The package deal saved us about $500 but in just 4 years we have spent over $1000 (including $400 to buy a new washing machine). VERY disappointed in this brand.

I am so disappointed, angry and tired! Unfortunately, I listened to the salesperson regarding this feature and bought it hook, line and sinker! The Aqualift self clean system is a joke! It only cleans the bottom of the oven and that is after you mop up the water left in the bottom and scrub it. No amount of scrubbing even touches the sides, back or window, even after using the Aqualift feature 3 times! I spent hundreds of dollars only to be down on my hands and knees scrubbing to no avail. I have not seen 1 good review regarding this system. Shame on me for believing a salesperson and shame on me for not researching first. I will not make this mistake again!

Whirlpool Cabrio 6600 SW2 - Somehow a coin or two (?) are under the tub. It is not a high pitched sound. Just sounds like the machine is rubbing against the tub or something when it is being used. It does an excellent job of washing and spin drying the clothes, but the noise irritates my wife, which then irritates me. I took the top piece off and can see a coin DOWN there, but cannot reach it. Must I turn the machine upside down and try to shake the coin(s) out?

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer - I have a 2 1/2 year old washer that has been serviced twice. This week 10/2/14 the service technician informed me that we had a bad tub bearing. The bearing failure caused a leak which corroded the rotor & stator. It was more cost effective to buy a new washer than to repair our unit!!!! Ive never heard of a washing machine needing to be totally replaced after 2 1/2 years. Any ideas how to deal with Whirlpool?

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7340XW sounds like a small jet during spin cycle. The Whirlpool Cabrio Washers have a very well known and well documented problem with the tub bearings failing. Many many disgruntled owners have posted their complaints online, and there are many videos showing the issue on youtube. This issue is so prevalent that the manufacturer has created a tub bearing failure repair kit for $350. The repair is so expensive and labor intensive that many of the certified Whirlpool repair shops no longer work on the Cabrio washer stating that a better washer can be purchased for the cost of this repair.That said, the manufacturers customer service group denies that the Cabrio tub bearing failures is a common problem and are quick to state that Whirlpool holds no liability for this problem. Ramping the complaint up to a customer service supervisor is met with the same canned response. Regardless of the thousands of complaints Whirlpool is claiming that it is normal wear and tear for the tub bearings to fail. The manufacturer should recall the units for this manufacturing defect in the Cabrio design.

We have had this microwave 3 years. The first thing we noticed was that baked potatoes were way overdone and nothing heated up correctly when using the sensor Not a big deal - just stopped using the sensor button. Now, we keep getting the open/close door message keeps coming up. I have done all the recommended fixes with no luck. Now we need to have a repairman come out to fix it. It seems when you are paying over $300.00 for a microwave, it should last longer. If I had known it would be such a poor quality, I would have bought a less expensive one and definitely a different brand. We do not use a microwave on a daily basis, so it certainly did not crap out from overuse. I would not recommend this to anyone. Save your money or you will be spending much more on repairs.

I own a top two door refrigerator cabinet with a middle drawer meat cooler and a pull-out out lower chest freezer. The ice maker is built into the door and it is a very simple to operate and stable appliance. The refrigerators space is very functional and flexible for your food storage.. We have moved it 3 times and never had a problem. It is my wifes favorite appliance and fits our needs perfectly without a lot of bells and whistles. The ice maker filter is easy to change and the ice maker itself is super reliable. The model number is WRX735SDBM00. We have been Maytag and Whirlpool appliance owners forever because of their reliability and the ease of used to clean them.

My Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer stopped cooling just after a year. I had to buy a $319 warranty. It was fixed, but broke several months later. The repairman said he would try to stop the leak and it worked for a couple more months. The refrigerator was obviously irreparable and we should have had it replaced by Whirlpool at this point. Now, that it broke again (stopped cooling and freezing) the repair service is giving us the runaround. Its over a week and they wanted us to call a repair service and they would reimburse them. The repair service and Whirlwind know about this problem, but refuse to acknowledge it and are getting away with it. With all the comments Im reading here, there should definitely be a recall. Id like to know what it takes to have one authorized.

Whirlpool Cabrio. A little noisy, 2 or 3 years, do exactly what the manufacturer says they will do. Start them up, run them, go get the finished product... The previous set, same brand lasted us 15 years and then went on to help someone else. Still have the same dishwasher, Whirlpool, 11 years, no repairs, no breakdowns. Bought refrigerator, and micro-wave also, several years back. No problems, no service calls, no stops.

After having the ice maker replaced on our 14-month old Whirlpool refrigerator, things seemed to be working fine for a while. However, now there are puddles appearing on the floor in front of the refrigerator. This is a freezer-on-the-bottom model and the ice maker is at the top so I was fairly certain it has nothing to do with the ice maker. Turns out there is something dripping into the back of the freezer and over time it builds up a giant ice sheet on the bottom of the freezer compartment. When the ice sheet gets large enough, the dripping water flows out onto the floor. Now Im going in every couple of weeks and chipping the big ice sheet off the bottom so it will stop leaking for several weeks. When I see puddles in front of our refrigerator I know its time to go chip the ice sheet out again. Seriously, I dont think Ive ever had a brand new, and expensive, appliance perform so badly. Whirlpool... never again.

Purchased this washer new 2015 for use in our cabin. Now 4 years later with very little use the motor has seized. Washer is useless. What happened to 20 years of almost daily use and still runs great. This washer is a very poor quality washer and has now failed. Please save your money and buy a different brand.

I have a Whirlpool dishwasher that is under warranty. The dishwasher failed and Whirlpool service gave me a written report acknowledging their part had failed. It caused $20,000 worth of documented damage. Their adjuster came out after waiting for one month. I have a claim with them and no one contacts me. For a few weeks I was dealing with their legal dept and they said they were going to turn it over to the company that made the defect part. To which I advised them Whirlpool did the damage, I will deal only with them. Since then their legal dept has not answered one email. Whirlpool is trying to put the damage on another company rather than themselves. I have heard from NO ONE. I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and their tech and their adjuster confirm the damage. Now here I sit one month later, cabinets destroyed, floor destroyed and garage ceiling as well as kitchen walls destroyed and at one point Whirlpool says maybe you should put it through your homeowners, they would pay you faster. I have the same problems as the ones listed in complaint section. I bought 4 Whirlpool products at the same time: refrigerator, stove, and the Whirlpool duet. Washer is a front loader. We have had nothing but trouble. The company we bought the machine from exchanged the washer for the same model because the electrical was bad and the parts to replace were back ordered for more than 3 months. We are now having problems with the exchange washer. This time it is the same as the engineer remarked in his complaint the bearings are bad and it sounds like a jet taking off. It’s that loud.I went down to the place of purchase and I am in the process for the repair. I have a feeling this will not end well. Whirlpool, if you call them, gives you a run around or tells you they dont have you listed in there computer. We dont have the money to replace any of this. This new machine is only 9 months old. Whirlpool is making a killing off of fixed income people and the working class. You tell me who can afford the cost of that kind of repair or the cost of a new machine that only works for a couple of months. Why is 60 Minutes not on them like a bad smell?

Does clean well but I notice that even on heat drying there is still water on the inside of the door when I open it. I have loaded it up and even the glass baking pans came out sparkling. I would recommend this middle of the road priced dishwasher.

My son purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine about two years ago and now it doesnt work. It was an almost $1,000 machine. You would expect a higher quality product. I always bought Whirlpool products because they were so dependable so I recommended my son to go with Whirlpool. Big mistake, the panel lights up but when you press the power button, nothing happens. I do not recommend this machine to anyone. Im wondering if anyone else that has purchased this has had the same trouble.

Originally, I loved my machine. At the one year mark, my washing machine began a f51 error code. I looked it up and it had a recall. The entire board had to be replaced. Now, I keep getting a ul code and it will not quit. Also, the inside of the top is rusting out so badly that chunks of rust fall into the washing machine and stain my clothes. I wish Whirlpool would fix these common errors. I see many other people complaining online that the same thing is happening over and over.

My dishwasher interior and exterior is easy to keep clean. Very quiet and cleans all my dishes. The various cleaning options meet all of my needs. I would recommend this brand to everyone. I have had my dishwasher for 2 years and have had to call for service.

Its just a plain refrigerator. No bells and whistles. It could have more space in the bottom and well as a ice machine or ice maker. Nothing special about it. Just a place to keep food. The light in top could be higher so food does not touch it.

I can not find parts for 50-gallon Whirlpool hot water heater. The left hand thread thermocouple quit functioning so I have no hot water. I have called every plumbing concern in a 50-mile radius and everyone said that it was some kind of class action suit because you can not replace the part of the thermocouple and that they only make right-hand thread couple now.

Good Morning. We recently built a home with Pule in Nexton, which is located in Summerville, SC. The appliances we chose came with the dishwasher, stove and microwave. Everything other than the dishwasher has been doing great, but as for the dishwasher I am extremely upset...we are newly weds and received two nice sets of glass and at least 12 of them have been broken in the dishwasher. Please advice.

Mine is a stacked unit...saves space and I just love the stooping over factor... BUT, its an energy saver and I always have to add about 5 gallons of water to it for it to cover even half a normal load...ugh!!!

This is our 3rd repair in 13 months and now my 4 and 1/2 year old son and I both suffered bacterial food poisoning on this 3rd round. It has been a complete nightmare. Then we found out until last month, they were completely replacing the entire refrigerator. Then they stopped that and are just replacing the parts again. Now there is a back order of the parts and not to put any food in there or we will get sick again. The repair itself will take 4 hours whenever they get the parts in and another 1/2 day to take off work. We are building a house and have bought the entire gold series line of crap that is sitting in boxes in our garage. NOW WHAT WHIRLPOOL?

We have had our catalytic oven explode into millions of hot pieces again for the 3rd time. Contacting them they sold me an extended warranty which Im trying to cancel and have been trying since 30th Mar to contact on ALL of their lines. It is permanently on hold or engaged. This company should be avoided at all costs. If you work for this disgusting company DONT!! You will be out of work soon! It is unbelievable how bad they are at responding to their (now ex) customers. What the hell are we in the EU for when a supposed UK co is Italian and they never respond (AKA 1940). Ludicrous! Our Whirlpool Duet Washer pair is 2.5 yrs old. The washer didnt work at first, but a repairman found the problem and fixed it right up. They have not broken. The dryer has been fine and we have had them stacked for most of the time without any issues. My problem sounds minor compared to those others listed here, but this thing is ruining all our white or light colored clothes. They go in white, and come out covered with splotchy, dirty looking spots literally all over them! They werent that kind of dirty when they went in. It’s the oddest thing, like it makes dirt. Reading some of these concerns makes me wonder if it has a mold problem inside somewhere, and that is what is ruining our clothes. Tax return is coming and it is going. End of story.

Our Fridge has totally died at 16 months. The warranty was only one year. The customer service folks said online they might help, but we did not receive any response after two emails sending the make and model and serial number. An expensive fridge should last longer than this!

Whirlpool Dishwasher MOD#WDT970SAHZ0. I have to wash the dish before it goes in otherwise it doesn’t get food or anything off. It DOES NOT DRY at all. Even when I add the heat extended dry button. The normal setting takes 3 hrs & 12min to run & again, doesnt really wash & for sure doesnt dry. I have added jet dry. I called and they keep telling me it should have more jet dry! Ugh! I now have rust happening because it doesn’t dry. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL.

I purchased Whirlpool dishwasher in March of 2011. In July of 2011, the stainless steel front started getting rust spots. Called Whirlpool and they sent a local repairman out. After 3 weeks, I called Whirlpool again and was told that the rust is cosmetic. I insisted that I have other appliances with stainless steel and they do not rust. Either they used a inferior grade of steel, or its not steel at all. They repeated it was cosmetic and they are unwilling to do anything about it.

I bought this Whirlpool America dishwasher because it was cheap. Even though Im Canadian, I like patriotism and I could get behind the American flag logo on the washer. Let me just say, if you like when food comes off your plates, and attaches to your cups, then this is the dishwasher for you. It is always a surprise when you open the door to discover which dishes have been cleaned, and which dishes have inherited the food particles from the now clean dishes. This appliance really helps you work on time management as you are required to wash all your dishes before you put them into the dishwasher. 0/10 would not recommend for anyone who wants clean dishes.

Our over-the-range Whirlpool Microwave (Convection-Type) died 17 DAYS after one-year-warranty expired BUT theyre sending a local repair outlet out to fix it. I am very surprised... Thought Id be stuck with a $700 boat anchor. Thank you Whirlpool for standing-by your product. BTW... My research indicates these microwaves die quickly if you use the convection option very often... So now we know better.

We purchased a brand new Whirlpool fridge & electric range. Tried the oven on 3/22/14. Turned it on at 350 for 30 minutes. Waited for the new smell to go away. Then turned the temp up to 375. My husband put a frozen lasagna dinner in. 25 minutes later the inside oven door window exploded into the oven and the dinner. Found out the outside window usually explodes. We were lucky. The dealer we bought it from let us exchange it right away. Filed a report with the CSPC and am trying to find out how to file a complaint with Whirlpool.

GX5FHDXVY04 French door fridge. Ice maker backup issue - which cause water to build up and leak out of fridge. Fix was a known issue with a rubber grommet - $100.00. Fridge stopped blowing cold air - control board - $293. Fridge stopped blowing cold air again! Getting Nowhere with Customer service... Whirlpool used to be a great brand. They have lost me as a customer, and by the looks of this board, Facebook page, I am not alone!

Add us to the list of those whose Whirlpool Cabrio washer has failed. First, it was the infamous circuit board at a cost of $475 installed. Now, the tub bearing is apparently beginning to fail given the machines new propensity to roar like a freight train during the spin cycle. A letter to Whirlpool resulted the too bad ** letter that everyone else has gotten. This really should be a class action suit money-maker for some attorney. So now the question: Throw good money after bad hoping to get an additional couple of years out of it or bite the bullet and buy some reliable brand?Never again a Whirlpool, thats for sure. I pointed out to them that in the age of the internet, they wont go unpunished for this but theyre nothing if not shortsighted. An $800 machine requiring $475 worth of repairs and apparently soon to need another $500 worth of repairs. Whats wrong with this picture?

Whirlpool refrigerator Model WRT771RWYW01 - Having been pleased with my old Whirlpool, I made the mistake of buying one now made outside the US. First, we had to have the cold cut tray replaced, which was covered in our warranty and not a problem. Then, we complained because you can only put things on the front half of the shelves or they freeze solid. We were told, This is the way they are made, dont put things in the back.” So, I have to put my eggs in sideways so the back ones dont freeze and cant use the back portion of the refrigerator shelves. I paid a lot and I am angry. Lets go back to the US people where things were made right.

This machine is JUNK and in need of a recall!! DO NOT BUY!!! This was purchased at Lowes for nearly $800 a couple of years ago and what a waste of money. During the first year, they had to send out a tech that told me he was not familiar with top loaders and was not sure why the clothes were not getting clean, nor why they came out with a white residue on the dark clothes. We used the machine cleaner - which the cycles take nearly an hour (how is that efficient?), put in a load of dark clothes WITH NO SOAP and guess what? Then he had me dump in a gallon of vinegar to clean the tub and the wall of the washer and repeated the process and guess what? He informed me that it was just lint. Well, after several visits and using a suggested pin drop of soap, the problem remained. I finally asked him if he was so sure it was lint and not soap residue, would he be willing to taste the lint? It was soap.Obviously after an hour of washing in the efficient washer, the clothes are not getting rinsed. I know this because in just putting in less than ten dark t-shirts, they came out dry!!! He informed me that since he was a contractor for Whirlpool, he was not allowed to continue to come back as he resolved the problem that I was using too much soap! Well, that is only part of the problem. This piece of crap leaks. We not only have a water softener, but a household filter system. In just the last three months, we have replaced the hoses as they are corroding. We were informed by Lowes that the hoses that came with the washers were from China and that they have been replacing them with US made hoses to the customers at no charge due to the amount of returns. Well, those too have been corroding and now I once again have water on the floor.It cost $1.75 to take my clothes to the Laundromat, 26 minutes to wash and ten minutes to get there and back. That is what I have been doing, and using my 23 year old dryer when I get home. It is a shame that the company is not responding to an obvious problem. I only wash two loads in a week - not like I am beating the thing to death with numerous loads or heavy loads. I will not recommend, in fact, I BEG you not to spend your hard earned money on this junk. Buy a $200 washer and if it too craps out in three, four or five years... you are still ahead. You will even save money on headache medication and save your sanity.

I have tried to contact Whirlpool, email and telephone call. Finally someone called me but Customer Service was poor. I asked her to have a Manager call me, but she never did. They also never responded to my email. We Purchased our new Refrigerator 21 c.f. side by side 2 months ago. The ice maker is driving us crazy. It is very loud. There are white plugs on the 2 bottom corners that make the appliance look extremely cheap. I am not happy with this Refrigerator!

I purchased this refrigerator, approximately 3 yrs. ago. Right away the top crisper broke. I have put up with this broken crisper only to have broken the PLASTIC lips that hold the crisper to the top shelf. Piece of junk. I looked to order a new crisper but way to expensive so I just suffered thru. I cant even use it anymore as I cannot open or close it without it falling onto the bottom crisper. Would like to throw the thing out, but cannot afford another one. IT WILL NOT BE A WHIRLPOOL!!!

Called Whirlpool customer care for help with identifying make and model number of a slide-in, ceramic cook-top range (one of their popular brands). The representative was cordial, patient and very helpful when it came to giving me directions on how to locate make/model information on the unit. That was until I let her know about a recent problem with the stove. The edge of the cooktop is much too sharp! My hand got cut while wiping down the stove top/adjacent counter. Although Ive had the stove for a while, Id never had that happen before; thats probably because I used a thin rag this time around to do the cleaning. I asked the rep if anyone else had reported getting cut by the stove top. She said, No. I let her know that my goal was to just them know about the situation, because such a sharp edge on a cooktop is a safety issue. She disagreed. But what could or should she have said? In all fairness, it came down to balancing loyalty to the company with genuine care for the customer.I do appreciate how kind she was in communicating with me, but am very displeased that once Id shared about the problem she seemed rather dismissive of the situation. How could the risk of being cut NOT be a product safety issue??? If you visit the Consumer Products Safety Commission website, you can see where risk of laceration is a reason some products are recalled. Based on that understanding, I would say that sharp edges on a ceramic cooktop IS a safety issue!

Bought this machine June 23, 2016. First use, I called Lowes where I purchased it to say there is something wrong as it makes a grinding noise. I was informed that is normal for agitatorless machines. I asked if he could hear the noise, and he said yes, thats it. So I disconnected thinking, Wow, who makes a machine in todays technology that is so loud you think something or someone is in serious pain?! Now am at the point where I want this design in pain out of my house! Going to Lowes today to try and talk rationally for a complete refund so I can purchase an LG or Samsung which is what I should have done originally.

We bought Cabrio washer & dryer a year & half ago, and I hate, hate, hate the washing machine. Every load, it goes off balance. And you have to stop your other work, unlock & wait awhile on that, and rearrange your load of clothes. I called the repairman when I first had it, and he said, Oh yeah that happens, nothings wrong. OMG! How I wish I had returned it. If you dont rearrange the load when the cycle is done, your clothes are still soaked. So you have to re-drain & spin. Total waste of money & a lot of my time. Very very dissatisfied and will never buy another Whirlpool product.

I bought a Cabrio set in June 2007. Within two years, I had to have the barrings replaced ($800 job). Now, its two years later and Im getting a F50 code. The repairman put in a new part, still got the same code and left. I am out $970. I am a disabled vet/single parent and now I have to buy a new washer. Who is going to start the class action suit against Whirlpool?

Great front loading machine. Dont have the smell problems a lot of people that I know who have front load. Cleans all types of clothing very well. 13 years of reliable service with very little maintenance.

I purchased the Whirlpool Gold OTC microwave model #GMH6185XVQ on November 29, 2010, and it was installed on December 26, 2010. After 18 months, the Magnatron went out. Its just me and my husband, and we eat out most of the time. So, it wasnt used a lot. I called Whirlpool, and Sherrie could only say that she feels my frustration. No, she doesnt. She has no idea. I just purchased $4000 worth of Whirlpool appliances, and now, I have no idea if they are going to last. It is a piece of junk that I paid good money for. In this day and time, we have to watch what we spend. I think Whirlpool should be a stand-up company and admit to taking our hard-earned money for a piece of junk. Dont they realize that its going to hurt their business.

I had to turn the gas off my water heater and when I tried to turn it back on, it refused. I called the number on the heater and somebody answered. The guy told me to take the pilot gas hose off to make sure there was gas in the line. I did this but after spending 1/2 hour putting the pipe back in, the pilot light did not go on. I called them back and they told me to push a white switch and hold it down for 10 seconds and retry. That didnt work either so they told me to call a repair man and gave me the phone number of a local plumber. Trying not to give up, I removed the pilot light pipe off and tried blowing and sucking on it. I couldnt get air through the pipe so I figure that somehow it was clogged. I tried taking the whole assembly off (there are 2 screws to remove) but couldnt get that out. I called Whirlpool again and asked for a manual to be sent over the internet but I couldnt open that either. The water heater is only 3 years old and already Ill be paying to repair it.

I have a one year old Whirlpool refrigerator which was fine for 6 months. Since then it has been a nightmare. If Lowe’s had not intervened on my behalf, I never would have gotten service. Have had at least 6 service calls, 2 new ice makers and various other parts. It should be bright yellow.

First twice the frame that holds the crisper drawers broken. We bought parts and fixed worked for only short time. Second we bought extended warranty from Home Depot for 5 years. At about 4.5 years ice maker started freezing up. The valve that controls the amt of water that goes in was broken. Had it fixed under warranty. Started having a little problem with it in a couple months. Lasted 8 months. Broke again. Froze up. Had to pound on ice maker compartment door to get open. Once again water overflowed. Froze everything up. Called. Of course our of warranty now expired. Called the guy that put the ice maker repair parts in. The part under warranty but now I have to pay for labor and them coming out to look at it. Now why would I want to put another defective ice maker in. I called Whirlpool. They didn’t care. We have many Maytag appliances in our home but they will be the last. The appliances they make now are cheaply made.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine in September 2006, and have had nothing, but problems. I constantly have to get online to check error codes. Several months ago, the washer just stopped working. We called Whirlpool technical support. They said wed have to pay for a repair. After several calls to Whirlpool for help, I found online references to a recall for the same problem. Whirlpool NEVER mentioned that the washer was recalled for the very same problem. I called them back with the recall information, and they politely sent someone out to rebuild the washer. Less than a year later it is no longer working, again. I went online first this time, to check for further recalls and complaints about the current problem (faulty control panel). I found many complaints about the same problem--even a reference to a class action law suit. Whirlpool said they were unaware of the problem, didnt have many complaints, and are unwilling to help. I asked for a supervisor, Benjamin, and he said there was NO means by which I could further escalate my complaint.

I love my dishwasher, have had no problems and it does a great job. Stainless steel interior is a plus. Give it a try, you will be satisfied with the performance.

This dishwasher, compared to my old one, is very quiet but does a very poor job of cleaning. I now have to prerinse most all items. The silverware rack leaves many dirty items such as peanut butter off a knife. I probably waste more water on prerinse than what is saved by the washer.

My washer is less than a year old and wont spin out all the water. Ive called out a repair person and they told me there was nothing wrong with the machine, and to read the manual!

Ice maker kept freezing up. Im continually taking the ice tray out to unfreeze. The frequent removal of the tray eventually broke the tab off on the liner. Ive now been told this (liner) is not a replaceable part and since that is the case, the warranty will not cover. Im upset that the repair technician did not process the claim properly and state that the make had a problem freezing. What kind of company would manufacture a product that would have parts that are unrepairable? You spend close to $2,000 on a refrigerator, wouldnt you think you would have an ice maker that works? I know they hope to sell more appliances this way but you can bet I will not be purchasing another Whirlpool anything! I will also be retracting my recommendations to friends and family to purchase a Whirlpool. The company does not stand behind its products.

The side-by-side with the lower freezer was one of my all-time favorite units Ive ever had. The capacity of the interior was expected to be better, particularly the freezer, but it was effective in getting to the items I needed. Storing was good, but the freezer had trays in the upper portion that I could see when looking down, as Im over 6 tall.

Had washer since 2016. Have NEVER washed a load where there was not a problem from washer dancing to having clothes come out without water ever touching them. Would NEVER recommend Whirlpool! Tried to contact Whirlpool website to register a rating & even their website is defective - could not get through after several attempts.

Bought new Whirlpool duet washer 4.0 couple years ago. Started making load noise. Started checking and its the rear bearing and sounds of it will cost more to replace than to buy a new one. Found this page and after reading review after review, I will not spend a dime to fix the junk product from Whirlpool. Going to put in the dumpster and never buy another Whirlpool product. I have never seen so many complaints about a product and many being the same bearing problem. Where is our recall process? Its ok to rip off people over and over with no consequence. And why do large chains keep their product? Guess theyre in on the rip off.

Whirlpool Gold refrigerator WRF989SDAH00. I purchased this French door refrigerator based on past experiences with Whirlpool and sad to say this is not the same quality product I have know Whirlpool for. After the warranty ran out, it died. The first service company I called identified the problem as a known (to Whirlpool) design flaw. They would not touch it and referred me to contact Whirlpool. I did and the company referred me to Dinos Appliance Factory Service (in Phoenix AZ). They came out and confirmed it was a design flaw. They replaced the evaporator and compressor and it lasted about 6 weeks.

I have a Whirlpool oven and dishwasher and have had nothing but problems with them both since day one! Our oven went out Christmas and couldnt get service on it and we were entertaining for Christmas. DONT EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT!!! If you do you have no one to blame but yourself.

My old 25 yr old Whirlpool died and was shopping for a new one. I saw the Cabrio and was really impressed by the features and large capacity interior. I can say that I thought my clothes were getting clean until I looked closely. I have never been so disappointed with this washer. I wish I had my old one back! Clothes arent clean, they are so twisted when I take them out and theres a horrible smell, like oil burning when it runs. The machine would fill up and when it would start to wash, it wouldnt, it would stop. And a loud humming noise was coming from the back.I shut it off and turned it back on and it wouldnt clear. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to clear it and start over. The bearings are gone now and I was going to have a repairman come and look at it, but now I wont bother! After reading everyones comments this Cabrio is a piece of junk and Im sorry I ever bought it! So now Ill be shopping for a new one tomorrow with an agitator!!! Im not impressed with the HE appliances!!! Ive owned this POS for not quite 6 yrs. Expensive to purchase and I will not recommend Whirlpool to anyone! Its sad that companies today make cheap products!! Built to last... ha!! Well never see those again!!

I wish to file a complaint regarding a Whirlpool flattop electric range that we purchased approximately eight years ago. After the first year, a residue began to build up behind the glass on the front of the oven door. Finally, about 18 months ago, I decided to try to unscrew the back of the door in order to clean this since it got increasingly worse year by year. When I unscrewed the door, the side metal bars broke off and the range is to say the least, looked very unappealing . When the oven self cleans it makes the outside of the oven brown and very unappealing.This is a Whirlpool Gold, Super Capacity 465 range. We have been dissatisfied from the beginning. This complaint is not about the retailer, it is about the Whirlpool product. Please help as I am quite dissatisfied with this Whirlpool product at this time.

The washer and dryer, Cabrio, machines are not even 4 years old and Ive had to repair four different things! Literally just replaced idler pulley today, went to put a load in wash and F1 code appeared. Control panel, 350.00 for whirlpool or a technician to repair! 285.00 for part. I called Whirlpool and was not offered any apology. Never again will I purchase Whirlpool crap appliances!

Do not buy this washer. It does not get clothes clean. I use extra rinse (that negates the water savings) and still clothes comes out with stains on them. Some clothes are not even fully wet when removed after washings. I find myself soaking and pre-treating many items. White socks and undergarments are grey soon after buying. I always liked Whirlpool washer and dryer products, but this is a very poor product.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator about 1 1/2 years ago. Mechanically it works fine, but many places on the outside are showing small rust, circular rust spots. Looks like the refrigerator has the measles. I dont think ordinary paint will cure the problem since it looks like the rust is coming through from the inside of the door. Any ideas as to what will cure the appearance and keep the rust hidden????

Whirlpool Gold Freestanding Accu bake Duo FIRE HAZZARD - We bought our house August 2013 and we were SO happy to see the stainless steel appliances and we thought Whirlpool was a good brand that our grandparents stood behind for years (they obviously havent bought from them in 50+ years... times must have changed for the worse). Anyway, I got all moved in and was fixing supper and noticed how REALLY dark and greasy the oven was. I could barely see inside because the coating of grime was so thick that it dimmed the light by being so thick over the glass bulb cover. I immediately thought Wow... the past homeowners were nasty and lazy because they have this nice self-cleaning oven and dont even bother to clean it. I noticed it smelled slightly like it had a gas leak somewhere when it was preheating but it cooked the supper okay that night.Because it was hotter than a jungle in NC in the summer heat of August, I decided to wait until winter to use the self-clean... thought it would warm the house as it got rid of the gunk, right? I kept using the dark coated oven about a total of 25 times and always noticed the faint gas smell at first when it would preheat. I thought maybe it was SO dirty that the oven seal wasnt working right and since it was now November, I figured I should just run the self clean cycle and maybe it would make it run properly as it was REALLY dirty and the igniter or something may actually be clogged. I figured it would probably stink a little at first when it started the cleaning cycle because of the excess build up but it needed cleaning so bad that I cleaned it... The smoke alarms started to go off, we just disconnected them for peace and quiet... Our throats and eyes were burning and it smelled more like plastic burning... FOR HOURS it was horrible! The walls and the Terracotta tile floor were flaming hot!!! The next morning the house actually smelled like it had caught on fire and it stayed that way for weeks!The oven was very clean inside after the cleaning BUT the oven is now totally useless! It will not stay lit. I have never been able to use it again as it will not come up to temperature... just clicks over and over and hisses trying to light. I tried again today and it started LOUDLY hissing like a big open gas pipe was on in there and I got scared and cut it off. THANK GOD it went off!I have been reading similar complaints about Whirlpool Gold ovens for a couple hours now and I am truly scared to use this oven now. After reading the comments of the hundreds of dollars it will take to get it to bake again and how most people STILL had the same reoccurring issues and NO help from Whirlpool... Well I decided to share my experience in hopes that if anyone else is reading this... and I am sorry to say... Well... you are not imagining the problem either. We never read these blogs like this BEFORE we buy or use our appliances, only AFTER something scares the crap out of you and you look for a recall. If I could afford to sue Whirlpool for a replacement then I would. I wish everyone could afford to sue Whirlpool for their unresolved issues that have cost them unnecessary expenses due to the customer loyalty we have had for Whirlpool as we used to be taught You get what you pay for and Do not go with an off brand because those companies go out of business when you need them to repair or service stuff. Am I the only one that was taught this? Times are very hard now and the economy is getting worse and now we have to be screwed by big companies like Whirlpool getting rich off of hardworking people and they do not care enough o help pay for the poor workmanship issues they are making. Shame on you, Whirlpool. I am taking the rest of the day to read reviews on a replacement stove so I can get this ticking time-bomb out of my new home. I too have read enough about the same oven that others have had worse memories than I did. I will not waste anymore of our hard-earned money on Whirlpool ovens. I purchased this refrigerator and have had problems with it from almost the beginning. First, the doors wholl not stay open long enough to remove items. The technician Whirlpool sent out said the cause was an uneven floor. I checked with a level and the floor is almost completely even. So, then it said thats the way it was intended to work. Isnt that what the adjustment wheels on the bottom are supposed to correct? They dont. One individual in Whirlpools customer service department told me that the doors were not a functional part of the fridge and, therefore were not covered by the warranty. What?Next the refrigerator leaked and ruined the ceiling in the floor below. A few weeks after that was fixed (the fridge, not the ceiling), the unit completely shut down and I lost a tremendous amount of food. Bad enough to have to go through this but then to have Whirlpool treat me so the horribly was absurd. Fridge broke on Friday and a service person came out on Wednesday. Tech tells me he has to order the part (control box) and I find out the next day that the part was on back order. I had already been without a fridge for a week when Whirlpool tells me the part was not available until 9/19 (this was on 8/6)! That was not an acceptable solution so I requested a refund or a new fridge. Nope, their job is to repair, not replace. They said they needed 7-10 days to see if they could get the part earlier. What? Then if it couldnt be repaired in a reasonable amount of time they would consider replacing the appliance. They would not define reasonable amount of time.I believe I spoke to about 10 or 12 different whirlpool reps, and was told 4 times that a supervisor would return my call. One person did call back when I was unable to answer the phone and I called her back within 20 minutes. Guess what, she wasnt available and she never responded to my 3 return calls. When I complained that I had spoken to so many different people and was tired of telling the fridge saga to yet another person who would not help me, she volunteered to be my point person. She gave me her direct extension and said she would handle my case. I left 3 or 4 messages for her and she never returned my call. In other words, I was constantly told that I would receive return calls but never did. In summary, no one cared that I had an almost brand new Whirlpool refrigerator that was not working and that the date I could expect a repair was indefinite. In addition to all of that, every time I called they were experiencing a high call volume. Maybe they could hire more staff? When this all started, Home Depot told me I had to go through Whirlpool because it was under their warranty for the first year. Finally I decided to go to the store (after all, I did pay them for the fridge). After 3.5 hours in Home Depot, they agreed to replace the refrigerator. I havent gotten it yet (they did send over a small loaner), I am really hoping this is the end of this fiasco. I want my life back!! !

I purchased the Whirlpool washer in February 2019 and delivery was in March. As stated in my previous reviews for the manufacturer, and subsequent repair calls, three; from the first time using the washer, it didnt fill properly for the amount of the clothes in it. A piece of paper towel never got wet through the whole wash cycle. I had to resort to raising & lowering the lid numerous times to get to the correct water level; adding water with a container or just pressing down on the switch under the top cover; 4-5 count. Needless to say very time consuming. As for hot water for doing white clothes, forget about it! It seem to me its the same problems with this whirlpool washer thats been happening with most of the other reviewers/purchasers. Did Whirlpool ever think about taken back one of these problem washers and checking it out for themselves? Maybe installing a clear plastic lid to monitor water levels at different wash cycles? Hot water temps when called for? Are these negative reviews ever seen by Whirlpool? Or in the trade is it called.... JOB SECURITY? Any more detail required? Cabo

We remodeled our house 5 years ago, and bought all new GE/Whirlpool appliances (washer, dryer, microwave, refrigerator, oven, stove top, and water heater), and weve just passed the 5 year mark, and each appliance is failing one by one.

Microwave has melted a hole on the inside rectangular plastic cover. Model number is on recall list but not serial number. Opened microwave to find melted plastic on my popcorn bag that was dripping from the plastic up top. I will replace microwave but not with a Whirlpool again.

I purchased a Whirlpool upright freezer from Sears 17 months ago and it stopped working. I find the warranty is only 12 months. I contacted Whirlpool and they left a message on my answering machine that they would not be allocating any funds for the repair of this 17 month old freezer. I spent in excess of $600.00 and I am highly disappointed. I would never buy another Whirlpool anything.

We bought a Whirlpool model WFW5620HW front-load washer at Lowes. The unit shook so violently during part of the spin cycle that the Whirlpool-authorized service company technician said not to use it while parts were ordered. It seems the balance ring was not functioning. Parts ordered were shocks and tub assembly. The technician suggested trying to get a whole new unit, as the repair is so intensive he had only done one or two in his career.Whirlpool customer service said they would not replace the unit, and an escalated request had the same response. I think this is terrible customer service - when there is such intensive failure in the unit, they should provide a brand new machine. The work has not yet been done - we are without use of a washer for an unknown period of time, since the order of a tub assembly is so uncommon that they do not have a time estimate. Needless to say, we will never buy Whirlpool again, and suggest you do the same.

Purchased Whirlpool free standing smooth top range at Sears Outlet (scratch & dent) in Columbus, OH on December 8, 2012 for a rental property. On May 18, 2014, tenant said she turned the oven on to preheat and turned on one of the front burners. She said she was at the sink preparing food and heard a loud noise; turned around and there were flames coming from the top of the stove. This didnt sound logical so I called fire department and spoke with one of the firemen. He said there was no evidence of anything in the oven or on top of the stove. Tenant said only thing she noticed is that there was a clicking noise coming from the stove a few days prior. After reading all of these complaints, I dont think I will buy another smooth top Whirlpool electric range. Luckily no one was hurt.

Bought this 18 cu ft refrigerator this year. Only 3 choices for temp. Everything freezes, milk has crystals, ice cream is soft. Buyers remorse! Old ref was a Whirlpool. Wished I would have given others a chance.

My Cabrio washer worked fine for approx 3 years. Within the last 9 mos there has been one repair/replacement issue after the other: pump, computer board, bearings, seal, etc. Whirlpool takes no responsibility. Worse purchase I ever made.

I purchased a Whirlpool gas hot water heater in July 2012 and have had to replace the control/pilot light mechanism every 6 months since then. Whirlpools customer service is the worst service in the world. They are rude. I have followed their instructions every time and have been accused of being uncooperative. I paid $350 to $400 for my heater and just spent $200.00 to have a plumber put apple cider vinegar in my tank.I was told by Whirlpool that the calcium sediment was causing the problem... I drained this tank twice and there was no sediment in the tank. This is evidently a common error for Whirlpool tanks. I will never purchase any Whirlpool product again and will tell others that their products are crap. The worst part was the inconsiderate customer service. I dont know who trains them, but they need to fire the entire bunch. Shame on you Whirlpool!

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and there is a bearing problem (which seems to be the common issue reported). The washer is unusable at less than 5 years of age.

I bought all my kitchen appliances in Home Depot 4 months ago (April 2014). The wall oven, Whirlpool, never worked. Flamingo Appliances is the name of the company that does services for Whirlpool in my city. They keep changing parts and today is the 3rd visit that the technician will be in my house trying to solve the problem. Customer service in Michigan is DISGUSTING! I probably have to buy another oven because they say they wont replace it if they think its fixable. 3 MONTHS! I will never buy Whirlpool again. I hate them.

Purchased a $900 refrig, it broke 1yr & 1 week later. I fought to have this fixed since its out of the warranty period. After having to take off time of work for repair people to come. The repair guy made a disaster. Finally after much arguing I received a new refrig, same model. Well that last about a year & 1 1/2 then it started leaking underneath. I CANT use the icemaker or the water feature which I paid extra to have. What a piece of Junk. The people at Whirlpool will just say, Did you purchase a warranty? YOU SHOULDNT HAVE TO HAVE IT FIX WHEN ITS ONLY 2 YRS OLD!!!!!! They are so greedy, they make junk so that you spend more money on repairs or extended warranties. Whirlpool owners & mgrs see how you feel when it happens to you. KARMA. I will tell as many people as I can to stay away from Whirlpool. I will never purchase their products again.

We have had a Whirlpool dishwasher for about 2.5 years and have been happy with how it cleans dishes. About a year ago we replaced our counter top and in the process had to adjust the bend in the mountain brackets that attach the dishwasher to the underside of the counter. This requires flexing the thin piece of aluminum at the perforated line. In the process, one of the brackets snapped. The other was barely still intact and broke several months later. I tried jerry-rigging them, but eventually decided to replace them and called Whirlpool customer service to ask for replacement parts.Unfortunately, Whirlpool wanted to charge me $10.50 apiece and another $9.00 for shipping and handling. These parts could not cost more than a few cents apiece. I was shocked that they would charge me $30.00 to replace these flawed parts. Never have I had such and experience with any customer service department. The three people I spoke with were all rude and unapologetic about my situation. Two blamed it on the install...Ive installed plenty of dishwashers and never had any problems in the past. Even if it was a failure on my behalf, the simple replacement of the parts for a reasonable charge would have been fine by me. I told them Id be happy to pay a few dollars and to pay the full shipping fee (which was also high, in my opinion), but they refused to meet me halfway. I can only think that this is part of their business plan...make dishwashers with sub-par parts, and then over charge for the replacement parts when they fail. Well, I re-upped my jerry-rigging efforts and have improved the engineering of the faulty part. Save my $30. But Whirlpool will never again get my business and Ill be sure to steer clients and friends away from this brand as well.

I purchased the French Door refrigerator only 7 months ago. It has been emitting a low pitched, loud, vibrating hum for days. I called the company and spoke with a well-trained representative who informed me that there needs to be a service call. When I mentioned that this did not indicate an acceptable situation for future dependability, I was pitched to purchase an extended warranty. Further… this company doesnt monitor Consumer Affairs. Quality and standing by a product are manufacturer qualities that were not evident during the call.

I have had this unit less than a year and started having pilot problems. I would just relight and ask family members to take shorter showers or not run the washing machine or dishwasher at the same time. I would have to relight the pilot 3-4 times a year and would just tolerate. Now the water heater fails on a daily basis. In the last four weeks, my wife would say NO HOT WATER AGAIN. I am so tired of dealing with this, so last night, I called Whirlpool and associate was polite but gave me a lot of things that I should do (43 yrs a pipefitter). Before all was said and done, he is shipping me a new gas valve (at my expense) that I will gladly install to get rid of this problem. Will not EVER buy a hot water heater from Whirpool or Lowes ever again. Whirpool should stick to washing machines!

Less than 2 years old; a loud chirp began and the water dispenser stopped working, along with the ice. Repairman came out--ordered a part. One week later another repairman; another part. One week later another repairman--couldnt fix the problem. By now no cooling in the refrigerator at all. Tech line has to review the findings. Have heard nothing after nearly 3 weeks without a fridge, ruined food, and no ice other than my back yard!

Whirlpool Duet Steam Front Loading Washer Model #WFW9750WW01 - The washer is only 5 years old and sounds like the space shuttle landing while in the spin cycle. Cost to repair parts only will be $896.87. The bearings among other parts are shot. I will NEVER own another Whirlpool appliance under any circumstance. Angry is putting it lightly!!!

Got the dreaded 4 flashes LED status - High Temperature Shutdown. Online and vendor documentation says that this condition requires gas valve unit replacement, a $115 option. If your Pilot remains burning, but main burner does not kick in, then a good guess is the circuit board requires a reset. Prior to any further work, test the Thermopile, that is the round item with two blades located below and to the right of the gas valve unit. Move knob on control panel to OFF1) Pull out plug with red and white wires located on front of gas control. 2) Have someone Hold in the control knob on the unit at Pilot, and make sure Pilot flame is burning. 3) Using a multi-meter, set it to millivolt reading, and test voltage across the two wires. Voltage should be greater than 350mV, preferably >500mV. 4) If you get a reading in that range, your Thermopile is good. Turn knob to off position. Do NOT uncouple gas lines. 5) Piezo Igniter wire comes apart, disconnect it. 6) Remove screw that holds front cover. (screw located bottom left as you look at the unit) 7)Cover simply pulls off directly towards you. 8)Remove the screw holding the circuit board to the cover, and remove circuit board by unclipping it - 3 clips, one either side and one at bottom. 9) Unplug the 3 strand thermostat cable, you should now have the circuit board clear. 10) Take a piece of aluminum foil, fold it twice, then lay circuit board on it facing up, do it on top of tank, want it grounded. 11)Using one of the multimeter probes, wrap a piece of foil around it, keeping point free, and ground it too. Then slowly work around the board, touching all the solder connections you see, as well as the chip legs. Pay particular attention to the round objects on the board (capacitors), make sure to ground out each of the solder points, visible either side. (takes about 5- 8 minutes, take your time) 12) Once done, reconnect thermostat cable to board, then reinstall board into cover (dont forget the screw)13) Place cover back into place, screw in cover screw, reattach Piezo wire and black electrical plug with thermopile wires. 14) set Knob to Pilot, get pilot lit (may take a few hits on the Piezo button) and while still holding the knob in, watch to see what LED flashes you get (there will be a 10 second time lapse before it will start to flash) 15) You should either get 1 flash or 7 flashes, that means the board is reset, now turn knob to warm, and see if main burner kicks in. Good luck, and for a half hours work you have saved yourself $$$. PS: If it occurs again, you have sediment build up, need to drain the tank.

My refrigerator & dishwasher were purchased less than a year ago. Ive already had all the doors replaced on the fridge and the new ones are rusting. Discovered same issue with the dishwasher. The company doesnt seem to be overly concerned with remedying the issue. No sense of urgency or concern for the customer.
