I bought a Cabrio washer in 2009. I started receiving the infamous F51 code. When I called Whirlpool, they refused to even acknowledge that there is a problem with this washer. When I brought up the pages and pages of complaints about it, they acted like they did not exist. I hope this review will deter people from purchasing one of these faulty products!

We bought a side by side refrigerator/freezer in 2013 from our local Best Buy. We have usually bought Whirlpool appliances. Before we bought this refrigerator the last Whirlpool we had for 25 years. This past week our refrigerator went out. We called a repair man. He said the circuit board was out and would cost $450.00 to replace it. We decided to buy a new one. I am very disappointed that it only lasted 7 years. Oh I forgot to mention the ice maker went out about a year ago. We did get new filters as instructed. We did not buy another Whirlpool.

Purchased a brand new Whirlpool hot water heater, but it has never worked properly. The 1-800 help line has been no help at all. Every call results in another step we have to complete before they can fix the problem. Bottom line - never, ever, ever buy a Whirlpool product. They dont know the meaning of customer service.

Whirlpool side by side. When the compressor cycles, there is a loud knocking noise. Called Whirlpool when under warranty with no results. They could not tell me the cause of the knocking. Sort of live with it attitude. The funny part is when we have someone visiting and the knocking starts, they are puzzled as to why we are not answering the door. Sounds like someone knocking on the front door. We have been whirlpool customers for 30 years. Probably will not be so in the future. Too bad that a great company has go the way of the Nash and Studebaker automobile.

The Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine it’s the best washing machine I’ve owned. Water temperatures are right on, has an express wash 38 mins for lightly soiled clothes, plus the normal, delicate, heavy, bulky, 2nd rinse, if you need it. My wife loves it because it’s very Gentle on her personal items. Energy saver AND BEST OF ALL, IT REALLY CLEANS THE CLOTHES.

In August 2012 I purchased a side-by-side fridge with indoor water/ice dispenser. The appliance was purchased from Sears and delivered and installed by their employees or contractors. In November 2014 the refrigerator abruptly stopped making ice and began continuously cycling through the ice making process without creating ice cubes. Repairman told me the ice maker needs to be replaced for $300. He stated the control board went bad and the only recourse is an out of pocket replacement of the entire ice maker. A two year old fridge. The fridge has never been moved, abused, misused or dirty. It has only been used in a two adult home under normal household conditions. I would have thought an item that cost $1000 would last longer than two years!

We purchased our Whirlpool range a few months ago. We have the 6.1 cubic oven which is large inside with 5th element on top for keeping things warm which is a nice feature. The oven wipes easily if any spills occur. The only issue I have had is the top scratches easily. I used Creams Brute to clean the top which does well.

Ive read the reviews on this appliance. First of all the all of the washing machine being manufactured are designed to save energy and water. The water is loaded in the machine based on the WEIGHT of the clothes. the washing machines no longer have the features to (small, medium, large load) so the consumer can fill the machine. Having said that, most sales representatives will tell you appliances manufactured today are no longer designed to last 15-20 years, although they are way more expensive than the workhorses made in the past.I got rid of my fancy Samsung washing machine because it broke down at least 4 times within the first year of purchase and decided to go with the whirlpool because Ive had a workhorse in the past that was worked excellent. I love the fact the washers no longer have the agitator in the middle which allow me to wash my king sized bedding without the machine becoming unbalanced or making a lot of noise. So far the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer is working very well. Id rather give the Whirlpool a chance any day over the new johnny come latelys, which are more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes but are failing miserably in performance. I also love my Cabrio 8.8 dryer. They both work better than the Samsung models I got rid of.

We purchased this Whirlpool pair after our upright machine was unable to be repaired... because of parts coming from China and being hard, if not, impossible to get. We have had this pair for about 2 years now (Lowe’s). It still doesnt clean the clothes and it continually goes off balance when doing sheets, comforters etc. Myself I feel since they have taken the middle agitator out of the machine - it no longer performs the way a washer should and that its main function is to get the clothes clean! I did write a letter to Whirlpool about it and they pretty much told me, “Well too bad.” So much for buying American made products... at least the upright did last 6 years!

Needed a washer right away and have had Whirlpool before. Simple & easy to use. Not confusing to the average person or teenager for that matter. Reliability from Whirlpool is excellent. I have had many products from them and have enjoyed them all. They have been quite reliable over the last 9 years. They are out of date but they work. Not a lot of bells and whistles but still nice. They are both full size and have enough options for me. I am still happy with the pair and would purchase again if needed in the future. Price was good at the time as I cannot see spending $1K on them. Not always the more expensive is a good idea either.

I would like for the public to be aware of an issue I have had with my Cabrio Whirlpool washer and the extended warranty service that Whirlpool sells to customers. My Cabrio washing machine is less than three years old and is an inferior product. The circuit board has gone out on my washer twice. Each time my washing machine breaks, it is out of service for three weeks and I have a family of four people. My washing machine broke down with a major circuit board failure for the second time in three years on January 23rd. I called the extended warranty department at Whirlpool and they sent an incompetent repairman to fix my washer. We are going into week 3 of listening to various stories on why it is taking three weeks to source getting a part overnighted to fix our washer. This man has ordered the wrong parts, says he cant come to us because of weather, cant get the parts, etc...I just got off of the phone with the warranty service after speaking with a supervisor and they tell me they cannot source another repairman and we still have to wait. My questions to corporate office at Whirlpool is how long do you have to wait to get a washer repaired and what type of product and extended warranty are you selling to the public? A very inferior washing machine and a very unhappy customer! I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance! BUYER BEWARE, THIS COMPANY HAS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! THIS IS MY SECOND GO-AROUND AND THE SECOND EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN IDENTICAL TO MY FIRST ONE - TERRIBLE!

I purchased my Whirlpool Gold series french door refrigerator 3 years ago. I bought Whirlpool because it being an American company and a brand I thought I would be pleased with. Wrong! I have had nothing but problems with this refrigerator. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty! Just a year old, my ice maker stopped working. Then, the refrigerator stopped cooling. Circuit boards were replaced, fan motors, etc. over $1500.00 in parts and labor and the entire summer to have it fixed. This past August, ice maker stopped working again. Then, stopped cooling. I am now at week 6 without a functioning refrigerator. While I am thankful I have an extended warranty, through the store that I purchased this refrigerator, I am not thrilled with the amount of time that has passed between each visit and the fact that it is the exact same parts that are once again being replaced. This refrigerator is a LEMON. Do not buy this brand.

Whirlpool owned or bought out Maytag. My Maytag Washer (purchased a dryer also) was a disaster from day one. The previous set I owned (Maytag) was 20 years old when I decided to replace it. From day one, the washer literally walked across the floor while turned on (Maytag Performa). I had to sit there and virtually hold it down if I wanted to get my wash done. I called and called and they would eventually come out only to tell me that this was a substandard product from Maytag and I had better buy the extended warranty. After only 7 years, the washer completely stopped working and the dryer (Maytag) is falling apart. I purchased new Samsung washer and dryer and I absolutely love them. So you whine all you want about Samsung underselling you. I contacted you several times and all I received was lip service. I will never purchase a Maytag or Whirlpool washer and dryer and I’ll let all of my friends know about your terrible customer service!

We bought a top loaded Whirlpool washer, model WTW5000DW2 last May from Lowe’s for a summer beach cottage. It has been a terrible experience. There was a 30 day warranty from Lowe’s which unfortunately we missed because we had not moved down for the summer till after the 30 days. Working through Whirlpool, they sent an independent contractor out 5 times over the summer. Control panel was replaced twice. It never worked properly. I’m now back for the summer, and it still does not work. Do not buy this washer.

I purchased the Amana washer # NTW4560YQO 10 months ago - when I put on the warn setting I would get an alternate cold warm but a warm wash. At the beginning of July suddenly all I got was cold water. The machine is still under warranty so I called and I got an authorized repair person who came out and replaced the mixing valve.. then I went to wash clothes and yes all I got was cold water. The authorized repair person came out and could not figure why. He called Whirlpool tech dept and they told him it was working the way it was supposed to. Now it does not give any warm water so I do not know how the tech person can make that statement. They then sent yet another authorized repair person from a different repair company and yet again the tech person said it is working the way it is supposed to. IT IS NOT WORKING THE WAY IT WORKED WHEN I PURCHASED IT AND THE WAY IT WORKED FOR 9 MONTHS. When I called customer disservice they kept repeating, our tech people say it is working the way it is supposed to. Then they tried to tell me it was the ground water. I want to know how many others out here have had the same problem. I really feel this is a defective machine and I want my money back or I want compensation and an acknowledgement that there is a problem with their crappy machine.

I bake a lot so my husband bought me a new gas range for our 54th anniversary. After the first few times I used the oven, I decided to clean it. I noticed then that there were some burnt grease spots and streaks between the oven glass door. After 2 years of use, it has gotten much worse so I decided to take the door apart to try to clean the glass in between the layers of glass but there are three instead of two. I cleaned the inside of the outer glass, but that didnt take care of the problem. Most of the stains are between the other two panes of glass. That, I cant get to. I feel that this is poor design and not sealed properly. I take good care of everything I own and I expected this range to last me the rest of my life but it is put together with cheap plastic parts that wont last long. It is the first new range that I ever owned and paid a lot more for it than any Ive had. I expected better.

We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio set from Sears in February 2010, for our second home. We counted up the weeks we have actually been here since then, it is about 10 weeks. We figure we used the washer about three times per week. So, we have gotten about 30 wash loads from this washer and it dies mid-cycle. We assume the motherboard crashed. It kicked the breaker. Lid was locked and we couldnt get it open. The washer would not power up. Repairman arrived three days later, got the latch opened but couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. He said it is probably a board and it might be better for us to replace. He wants to pick it up tomorrow to take to his shop. I called Whirlpool to complain. I know the one year warranty is up but to get 30 uses out of this expensive piece of junk and not get any consideration from the manufacturer is not right. I wish I had seen all these complaints before I bought it. No Whirlpool ever!

The company did repair it free of charge on the second visit even though it was out of warranty. It is now leaking again which has caused damage to my wood floor and basement ceiling tiles. I am told that I have pay for the repairs this time even though it is the same problem. I was offered a modest discount to purchase a new refrigerator. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. I contacted Whirlpool service and was informed that warranty will not cover any parts or labor. I ordered parts for repair. It will take at least 2 weeks until arrival and repair of item. Clothes washing now were taken to town for washing at additional expense. After repair, only 90 days of warranty was given by the service technician. The cost of $260 to repair item for a possible life cycle of only 90 more days seems ridiculous.

I am a single parent. So I was very excited when I had saved enough to purchase a new washer and dryer. I purchased Whirlpool because I had been told that was a good brand. From the beginning, I was having issues with the washer (Whirlpool Front Loader model #WFW8300SW04). It wouldnt start or it would not spin, or it would just lock and not be able to get it open. I had purchased a warranty. So I called to have it serviced. The tech came and told me that I needed to have my floor leveled under the washer. I hired someone to concrete under my washer and dryer. Again the washer still did the same thing. I used the warranty again. The second tech told me that I needed to have my electrical outlet changed. I again hired someone to change the outlet. Yet still the machine didnt work. I then hired a tech to come out and was told the mother board needed to be replaced. Had that done. The machine worked for a short time with no issues. But yet again it wont start, or wont spin, or it locks and you cant get it opened. I contacted Whirlpool and their answer to the problem was they would be glad to set up an appointment to send out one of their techs (at my expense). I have hired another tech and being told that the mother board once again needs to be replaced. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool and their service. I dont understand why they won’t stand behind their products. I will (when able) purchase another washer, but it most definitely will NOT be Whirlpool. Anyone else having issues with the same model? Would like to hear.

In November 2012 we purchased a Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator, model WRF990SLAM from Lowes. This model has the ice maker in the door. We also purchased an extended warranty. In July of 2013, we contacted Lowes service because the refrigerator had ice inside it, top left, where the ice maker equipment is located. Also, under the ice bin, there was a solid block of ice. Water was dripping onto our food inside the refrigerator. August 6, a 3rd party repair company came and replaced parts. One week later, the same issue was happening. We called for service again. It took until 9/9 for them to come out again, and replace the same parts. Approximately 2 weeks later, SAME problem. This time, I called Whirlpool directly. I was told that they (Whirlpool) are aware of the problem with this model, and they should have new parts in by the end of the month that will fix that problem. They even have a special team for this! I asked for their direct number (866-461-2287). On 10/7 I phoned again asking for a status update. I was told that they were just waiting for approval to call consumers to set appointments, and I should hear from them by the end of the week. I also informed them that I was no longer able to use the ice maker or water dispenser because it was now leaking substantially into the refrigerator. They made a note of it. As of today, 10/13, I have not had a call back. This refrigerator cost us nearly 2500.00 and has a known defect! Tomorrow, Monday 10/14, I will begin to demand a new refrigerator (different model!) via Lowes AND Whirlpool. Too bad Whirlpool. Were now going to buy a new gas range...and I can guarantee you it will NOT be a Whirlpool!

I just purchased a new Whirlpool 6th Sense hot water tank #333570. This unit is a piece of garbage. Whirlpool should be ashamed at the quality of product they make. This unit came with a bent temperature and pressure relief valve, which required a piece of copper tubing to be bent awkwardly just to remedy the situation. Also, the control box is set at 12 (most other brands are 14, which is common), forcing the gas lines to be re-piped (very expensive). This unit also is extremely noisy, runs really, really hot and is not energy-efficient at all. Shame on me for not researching this product more closely. I purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater several years back with every bit of the Bells & Whistles that Lowes could bestow on it paid for and documented on the tank; Limited Lifetime Warranty and Lowes Professional Installation. It failed after several years with multiple problems. First, the bottom heating unit failed at the same time, noticing a leak from the top heating units external cover where a supporting screw had popped out, leaking down to the floor. Not only was the Whirlpool 800 number a scham of silence, with no estimated wait time and after approximately 20 minutes, a rep picks up as I could hear their legal department on an alternated line instructing and listening in, then dropping off when those crooks felt I had been placated enough to go onto to the next sucker. Whirlpool contacted me today about a review I posted on their website about the washing machine I purchased from one of their distributors. It was not to say they were sorry for the washing machine ruining our floor or our clothing. It was to say that they will not post my review because the model number is not the same as the one I purchased. Unfortunately for me my model was manufacture discontinued and although they look alike this new model is significantly different than the previous model it replaced (I will believe that when I see it). So they obviously knew there were problems with the earlier machine. I am outraged that whirlpool would stoop to such low business tactics to sell their garbage to people and then treat them like dirt.

On April 17th mid morning I noticed that the freezer side was not keeping items Frozen. Everything was melting period. I then opened up the refrigerator side all the items are not as cool as they should be. I then proceeded to do a Google search to see what I should check for in regards to the freezer and the refrigerator side not keeping cool. I then proceeded to pull the refrigerator out to inspect the back of the refrigerator. When I did that I noticed there was a hot mark on my wall, as well as a huge it burn mark on my floor. I then unplug to the refrigerator do the huge fire hazard and I touched my floor and it was very hot to the touch.I called my stepfather who is a firefighter and had him come over right away. He said we needed to take the refrigerator outside right away because the compressor had overheated and that is why it started to burn my floor. He then went to the fire station and got a heat sensor check machine, and we checked my wall and floor and we had to make sure that it was cooling down so it did not start my floor boards on fire so then we had to put a fan on it to cool it down. I then went and purchased a new refrigerator, due to this one was no longer able to be used or repaired. The refrigerator was only four years and 5 months old. For a $1,300 refrigerator it should last longer than 4 years.I called Whirlpool the following day or two days later and regards to this issue. The only thing they could tell me is that they were sorry, this refrigerator almost started my home on fire and we have six children a family of 8. It ruined my floor and part of my wall in my kitchen and we have lost a few hundred dollars and groceries. This is ridiculous and not the first time, I read a few others having this issue, Whirlpool said they have never received any complaints in regards to the refrigerator burning the floor and does not see it as a fire hazard at all.

Paid between $800.00 and $1,000 (cant recall exactly) three years ago and the oven locked recently while cooking a pizza. Couldnt get the lock to disengage and the oven turned on self-clean mode without me doing anything. The pizza burned crispy before I finally got the door open. The failure code for the control panel showed up. I didnt buy the extended warranty because we only needed it to last 5 - 6 years until we do a full kitchen remodel and the really inexpensive (~ $250) oven that was installed by the previous owners to sell the house lasted six years with no trouble. Now we have to pay $391.00 to repair what I consider a brand new oven. In doing some research it looks like the control panel fail is common and is associated with using the self clean mode which we only used once. Great oven if you only need one for a few years and are willing to pay the price.

In 2011, I bought in Croatia, for the start, 2 washers (model 3LCHW9100WQ) and 1 dryer (model 3LCED9100WQ) and opened the first self-service laundry in Pula, Croatia. Since the beginning, I had problems with the gum (black). After the washing cycles, you could see black lines on the laundry. Whirlpool Croatia denied that the gum can be the cause. After two months, they gave me new gums, but the problem still exists. After 5 months of work, the first malfunction on the washers started. The biggest problem is that it took and still takes them up to a month to repair them. And these problems I have ever since. Also, the error codes never showed the correct malfunction code. In global, if I take that I have these washers and dryer for about a year, they were out of function for more than 3 months. The warranty expired in April 2012. On these reasons, I cannot recommend any product of Whirlpool, and I have to change to another company to buy more washers and dryers.

I am experiencing problems with keeping my pilot lit too. I checked the screen and this is not the issue. I have just returned from Lowes where I purchased the water heater and they informed me Whirlpool supplied kits for this issue and it was widespread. They mentioned a class action and went on to tell me they and all surrounding Lowes stores are out of the free kit and arent expecting anymore. Am I to feel lucky my water heater water didnt fail sooner only to feel unlucky all of the free repair kits are now gone? Lowes provided me with the Whirlpool phone number for help and they have just informed me it will cost me $35.44 plus shipping. I now see how widespread this problem is. This isnt right. I am very disappointed in the handling of this known problem! What is my next course of action?

My old dishwasher washed much better than this one. For one thing, I do not think having the silverware basket in the door is a hindrance more than anything. For one thing, the silverware does not always get clean. Even some of the dishes do not get clean. I think the engineering of the dishwasher is poor. When you pull the bottom rack out to put more dirty dishes in, it gets caught on the silverware that are in the silverware basket in the door. Makes it very difficult to get the bottom rack out or in. I have no gripe on the size of the dishwasher. I would just like it to wash the dishes and silverware clean. The appearance of the dishwasher is good but that doesnt clean the dishes. I am more than satisfied with the appearance of it. I do like the buttons being at the top of the dishwasher so that a person cannot bump them when it is running. I just think the design of it could have been much better. My other dishwasher had the silverware basket inside on the bottom rack and I really liked that and if I ever buy another dishwasher, I would make sure that it is inside the dishwasher. I dont believe that Whirlpool is the company it used to be. I have an oven that has been nothing but a problem for me and it is a self-cleaning oven but I cant even use the self-cleaning feature because it blows something in it and it doesnt get hot and clean it. Have had it fixed twice and the company that sold it to us will not even talk to us about it. Im not sure that I would buy another Whirlpool appliance of any kind again.

The appliances in my home range from a Kitchen Aid double wall oven, a DCS single wall oven (I have 2 Kitchens), 2 Kenmore dishwashers, a Fisher and Paykel refrigerator and 2 DCS counter-top stoves (all top of the line). No problems they are great appliances. On Dec.22, I bought a Whirlpool Duet. For 6 months, constant repairs and rebuilds were needed; new computer panels, pumps and new drums. They cant fix it. We have tried everything to get the Whirlpool Factory to fix it or replace it. So far, I have spent twice the original cost to fix the machine (but to no avail) and now you want me to spend another $500-$600 to try to fix it again? No more!

I bought a new Whirlpool refrigerator at Home Depot for about $700. Six months later, suddenly, it starts making an intermittent but constant loud grinding noise and then the squeaking started. I called Home Depot first because I bought the protection plan. They referred me to Whirlpool who said the protection plan doesn’t kick in until another year after the warranty ends. It makes these noises whenever it runs, which seems to be more often (that it is running). Whirlpool may still charge $120 just for someone to come look at it even though it is under warranty. I asked another repair place and they said it might void my warranty for them to look at it instead. Whirlpool said it wouldn’t void the warranty but they would only work on it after the first repair person was finished. I’m waiting for the repair guy to come and see why it is making these loud noises. Another person with more knowledge of fridges than I have listened to the noises and said it sounds like friction in a motor. I read a review of the fridge that said the reviewer had problems after only 6 months and I thought that must be a fluke. Apparently not.

On its 1st year, the water pump went out. It cost $200.00 to replace it. On its 2nd year, the circuit board went out, and it took $300.00+ to replace it. On its 5th year, the bearings went out and cost $250.00 to replace it. I bought this for $900.00, and I already have paid $750.00 plus the price of purchase which makes this washer $1,600.00. Whirlpool should compensate all of us who have worked hard and have purchased this product! I will never purchase from Whirlpool again. I can’t afford them. I should get a refund from Whirlpool. I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio a few months ago. Every time we do a load of laundry, the clothes are not getting cleaned. Dark colored clothing, including grey clothing, comes out of the washer with white residue, streaked all over the clothes. We have to rub the residue into the clothes to make it go away. If we attempt to dry it and do not get the residue scrubbed off the fabric, when the clothes get dried, there are white streaks in the clothes. This is extremely frustrating. We spend a lot of time getting the residue rubbed into the fabric every time we do a load of laundry. The local appliance store has told us that perhaps we are using too much soap. We have used nothing but the high efficiency soap, as recommended by Whirlpool, and have reduced the amount of soap per their suggestion. It is now to the point where we are using hardly any soap at all, in the hopes that we would not have to spend 30 minutes working on the clothes after every load. That has not worked. The white residue is still all over the clothes, and since we are using less soap, I dont think our clothes are actually getting cleaned. When we wash a load of whites, they arent getting cleaned at all, even when we use bleach. In fact, when I compare brand new undergarments with recently bought undergarments that have been washed a few times, the ones that have been washed a few times are noticeably different in color, they are actually starting to turn grey in color.I have used Affresh in the washing machine, per the manufacturers suggestion, numerous times. We had thought maybe that was the problem. But even the load right after the Affresh treatment leaves the white residue or does not get the clothes cleaned. This washing machine was close to $700.00, and I feel that for that amount of money, I should be able to expect clean clothes. I have never had a problem with a Whirlpool product before, so I had no qualms about purchasing this washing machine. At first, I thought maybe it just needed to get broken in, that it would stop leaving the residue after it had been used a few times. However, that has not been the case. I have tried everything I can think of to improve the performance of this washing machine, but nothing helps. When I contacted the local appliance store to complain, they suggested I cut back on the soap. I told them that I had tried that and it didnt work. They told me to use Affresh, I told them I did that. I asked them if they would take the washing machine back; let me trade it in for something else. I would even be willing to get a cheaper washing machine, I just wanted something that worked. They told me they couldnt do that. Even though I was still under warranty, unless it was broke, they couldnt do anything, and even then, all they could do would be to try to fix it. They couldnt take it back and give me a different washing machine. The experience I have had with this washing machine is the worst experience I have ever had with an appliance. I had always thought of Whirlpool as a trusted brand for appliances, but if this washing machine is any indication of how they now makes appliances, I will never buy another one of their shoddy products again; and you can guarantee I will be telling my friends, family, and coworkers not to buy Whirlpool products either.

We have owned the Whirlpool Quiet Partner II for about 2.5 years. We purchased this from our local Lowes store (on sale). For the first few months, everything was fine. Then, the dishwasher stopped completing a full cycle and left the dishes somewhat dirty. I found online that I could reset the controls by pressing heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal quickly. When the cycle starts, I press cancel and then set the cycle I want and it will do it correctly. I do this every time I wash the dishes since I dont know when it will decide to stop working (wasting water and soap to redo). Now, the dishes are not drying and water collects on the ceiling of the tub. I saw this after a smell was coming from the tub (like mold) and when I looked up at the top of the tub, I saw water droplets hanging there and mold forming around the sprayer and back of tub. I have to wipe the ceiling dry now or just run vinegar through it often. I cant see paying someone to come out since service calls start around $70 just to come to my home. I did look at reviews for the dishwasher before buying but I wished that I had seen this site first. I would not ever recommend this dishwasher to anyone!

I purchased the GBS309PVS single oven in Dec. 09 along with a Whirlpool Gold microwave, dishwasher, and stove top. The oven was dented and scratched, so another one was delivered on 1/10/10. I finally decided to use the cleaning cycle in Oct. 10. It burned out the circuit board and something else. It was under warranty and repaired. I was afraid to use it again, but tried it yesterday, 12/27/2011. It smelled horrible, knocked the power out of the oven, and the door will not unlock. Customer service was not very kind and said that I had to purchase a $269 warranty and they would send someone out. I did, unwillingly. Well see what happens on Friday. If this is not resolved, I will go further. This is a faulty part of the manufacturing and should be handled as so.

I have been informed that I need part #W10604640, which is on back-order and they wont give me any idea of how long it is going to take to get this part replaced. Apparently, there are 96 total people who also need this part. I find it hard to believe that a company this big would not have this part on hand and they would not have any idea how long it would take to get it replaced. I asked them to give me a new washing machine for free to replace it because of the poor service and the unreliable washing machine. They told me they could give me another washing machine at 40% off, but based on the lack of follow-up and the amount of time that has passed since my initial call, I dont want another Whirlpool product. This is the worst customer service ever.

I just replaced a 4 year Cabiro washer with a Samsung. The washer was making terrible loud noise when spinning. It sounded like a jet plane. The repairman said it was a bearing that was going out and that it was a common problem in the Cabiro washers. Cost to repair it would be $500.00. Last week, it finally started spewing oil from underneath so had to buy a new washer. I will never, ever buy anything made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool said it was off the one year warranty (duh) and they wouldnt help with repairs.

A month later the same thing happened, the oven did not light. Have been putting up with this for a little over a year, it is finally off warranty. Same thing happens, you go to cook something and it will not light, then the oven door broke! We had to pay to have a new hinge installed. Whoever heard of a oven door breaking? I have had ovens 40 years old and they still work and the door doesnt break. Needless to say, my oven is still doing the same thing, lights sometimes and other times does not. Over the course of the 9 years that I had this hot water heater, I had to have the smart control box on top of the water heater replaced 3 times for burning up. The wires in the smart control box literally burned up and melted together. I am thankful that I was home each time it occurred, because if I had been at work when it burned up and not able to shut off breaker to it, as I did every time this happened, my home may have burned down because of it. I did just get Whirlpool to replace this hot water heater with a brand new one. However I have now paid installation costs twice. Thats not right. I had to pay a plumbing company $725.00 today to just install this new one. I bought the highest priced hot water heater that was also considered top of the line 9 years ago. I did this because Whirlpool is a reputable company and it came with a lifetime warranty. This doesnt make me happy and satisfied though when I have had to pay to have it installed twice. The installation costs more than the price of the brand new hot water heater! I also called around and did my homework first. The company that installed it was actually the lowest price of all of them.

Whirlpool Wash-And-Go washer and dryer - I purchased these new November 2016. Since week two, they have been a constant problem (i.e. not enough water to even get clothes wet, forget about clean; gulping soap from the dispenser; rubbing holes in clothing; putting rust on washed items). The dryer NEVER gets the clothes dry; no matter what setting they always come out damp, even after Ive put them through for two cycles.Three separate repairmen have come to work on the washer replacing sensors and the entire control board. It worked fine for two weeks, now its back to guzzling soap. (It is supposed to do up to 12 loads on one refill of detergent. I get two per refill. Ridiculous! Soap isnt cheap!) And, today it ruined brand new bathroom mats with rust all over them that I had to hand wash to try and remove without much success. At this point I would advise anyone looking for new appliances to try any other major brand and NOT Whirlpool. As soon as I can get the money, these are being junked and Im NEVER buying Whirlpool anything again!

My induction cooktop totally failed to work two months after installation. Whirlpool sent a repairman who told us it was the main board. He also said he was unable to locate any of that part anywhere in his computer. We called Whirlpool via our store, Ikea. They apologized, asked for 48 hours to locate a part, then said they would replace the cooktop if they were unable to find out. Almost 48 hours later, they hadnt located it and denied any replacement option. The parts cost is over $800. The cooktop cost just over $900. Whirlpool reps would only read from a script of legal warranty jargon. Then they said they needed 5 to 7 days. We had a baby visiting - we needed our stove. To me, an apology would be replacing that unit if the part wasnt available, not a verbal statement. Fortunately, we had the phone # of a local Ikea manager who told us to bring the cooktop to the store as they had them in stock. They replaced it with a new one. Over the years of my long life, I have bought many Whirlpool products. Never again. I need a washer and dryer, and will not be purchasing any associated with the Whirlpool Corporation. Thanks to Ikea, though, for standing by their customers.

I purchased my water heater at Lowes and had it installed professionally. I suspected something was not quite right on numerous occasions because the hot water recovery time seemed excessive. I finally called Whirlpool and they gave me the names and numbers of two companies that were on their list. The first asked for the model number and normal information and never called back. The second showed up spent five minutes charged me 78 dollars and said they could not get the part (gas valve) I needed. And if I could get it from Whirlpool they would charge me 250 to put it on. They also said Whirlpool made horrible water heaters and I should save myself the trouble and just replace it. I have since heard from additional plumbers and the gas company to stay away from Whirlpool. I did have the water heater replaced. When they did it and they drained the old water heater it had so much sludge in it draining it was very difficult. The sludge is mystery since I have a softener in my home and it should have prevented that. The individual from that gas company said that was just one of the many issue others had experienced with these heaters.

This Whirlpool washing machine is incredibly annoying and slow in everything it does. First off when you press the START button it takes 2-3 minutes before it decides to do anything, like maybe add water (except click, click and more click). If you have pressed the start button and you want to stop it to add something... again you have to wait almost 2-3 minutes before the lock is released and you can open the door. I am at 2 hrs and 15 minutes as I write this on the LIGHT WASH cycle with extra rinse and its still going. I have never seen anything like it. Cant imagine how long a HEAVY CYCLE takes. Cannot even try to measure the time. I put the load in and go to work and hope its complete when Im done 8 hrs later. We had a Maytag for 15 years with no issues (other than a drain hose cracked and had to be replaced) and it was time for a new one with a move to a new place. The sales associate convinced us this was the best machine at the time... Well what a mistake that was. There are no complaints about the actual washing. Everything comes out clean but I suppose taking that long I cant imagine why it wouldnt. I certainly cant recommend a Whirlpool washer to a friend, because I dread the thought of doing laundry at this point.

It will twist the quilts and fold them under themselves and tear them from the pressure. This is the worst piece of crap I have ever own. The last Whirlpool product lasted 12 to 20 years. I hated this thing after the first few washings. I generally have to stop the washer and let it soak and then turn it back on if I want the damn thing to get the dirt out. I am using the required detergent as well. Bought a whirlpool water heater less than two years ago and it has already failed. I could not find parts for it and was told by a lowes employee that I would have to call whirlpool on the 5th of July (three days away) to order any parts. I tried three plumbers in the Indianapolis area and they all told me that I would be better off replacing it with a different brand. I just put in a new rheem in its place. I will never buy another thing from whirlpool. They are no good.

Whirlpool water heater with the sensor for fumes. First time it failed, they talked me into replacing the control box on the front panel which was the WRONG fix. It took me nearly an hr to get it off because it was screwed on so tight I had to pound it with a hammer. After reading all the reviews its evident the underside gets clogged with dust and dirt. Just outright POOR ENGINEERING. My washer/dryer are also Whirlpool and I wish I had my old Sears Kenmore back. Will NEVER buy Whirlpool again. Worst brand EVER!!!

I purchased a brand new refrigerator model # WRX735SDBM00 Ser # K51621170 on 30 June at Lowes. Paid about 1600.00. Within 5 days the ice maker was no longer functioning. I called the service department and a lengthy ordeal commenced of trying to repair. It is now 13 August 2015 and I have had over 10 visits from a technician and I still have no ice. I made a terrible mistake in not returning the appliance to the store within 30 days so now it has to go through the process which means that now I have to continue to wait until the technicians deem that this appliance is not repairable anymore before I can attempt to get a replacement. In the meantime, we have been inconvenienced, aggravated not to mention not be provided a product that works with no future date where I can get this appliance repaired. The local store management have been great to deal with and are trying but their hands are tied until the manufacturer determines they cant fix. In the meantime, the consumer is continuing to wait for the repair/replacement. No one seems to care or has there been any discussion of some compensation (not necessarily money) for the aggravation and inconvenience I have endured. Something is just not right. Suffice to say, never again will I buy a Whirlpool. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

They have sent three specialists to look and assess the Whirlpool washer and dryer that I have. Both stated that the washer does not function correctly; the last repair man stated that he had seen many like this and they have a history of unreliability. I would like my money back, not a repair, as they do not even use just cold, but a mixture of both hot and cold. I had bought them specifically because I thought they only used cold, which was stated by Whirlpool. This is wrong advertising. I would like my money back. I still have the receipt and I am seriously unhappy with the washer and dryer, period.Since I cannot use the machine, which I had bought for $1600.00, the washer and dryer is now sitting in my basement. While whirlpool is saying that they wont take back the washer and dryer even thought it has a warranty. I had paid it in cash and I do not see why I should be forced to keep a broken washer and dryer set. I will contact my lawyer to consult this issue with Whirlpool.

I bought a Whirlpool over the stove microwave. It was to replace a GE that was over nine years old. 40 days after purchase and installation the plastic started chipping and peeling. I contacted Whirlpool customer service and was told that it was a cosmetic problem and my warranty stated that I had thirty days of warranty on cosmetic problems. This was a problem because chipping and cracking didnt happen within 30 days. The chipping and cracking continued to get worse. I again called customer service because the warranty stated that workmanship and bad parts were covered up to one year. I was told that because it was over my stove that this was to be expected. I thought this was a dumb answer because had I known that an over the stove microwave would have problems from cooking I would have installed it in my living room over the television. I called customer service several times. One of the times I called I talked to a representative who actually acted as if she wanted to help me. She suggested sending an e-mail with pictures and gave me an e-mail address. I did this and got no response. I was getting close to the warranty expiration date. I called again and was told that pictures wouldnt work; I would have to pay to have a serviceman come out and write a statement saying that it was not cosmetic. The cracking and chipping is so bad that I cant clean parts of the door because the cloth or sponges catch on the cracks. The door on the GE microwave did not look as bad after nine years of use as the Whirlpool does after 1 year and 8 days of use. I am not the smartest person in the world but I know the difference between poor quality material and workmanship as opposed to cosmetic problems. Im pretty sure that if my wife put her makeup on and pieces of her face started cracking and falling off she wouldnt want to hear that it is not a real problem its only cosmetic. Bottom line is I am very dissatisfied with the poor customer service and warranty problems I have experienced. I will not buy another Whirlpool product and would strongly suggest to others to buy any brand but Whirlpool.

Purchased double range ovens. Enamel is flaking off within 2 years. Whirlpool denies defect. They wont replace it. Any other folks with similar problems? What can I do to have it replaced? I remember the old ovens and how the enamel just stayed and stayed and stayed. Never a rust or flaking issue in those old time models. Any expertise on how the enameling process may be compromised in the newer manufacturing process (cutting corners or costs). Any options for a class action here if a commonly experienced occurrence? If similar experience drops comments/review below as a one liner - just state enamel defect. That way can figure out the number of folks with issues. Id like to take action if given the opportunity, and more so if this is a common occurrence. Lawyers are costly for one-off complaints, but there is power in numbers (think United Airlines).

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in 2010, model #ED2KHAXVB01, side by side with ice maker. Fortunately, we purchased a 5-year service contract at the same time because the ice maker has broken twice. Unfortunately, I have had to replace the shelves while still under warranty quite a few times. The sides of these glass shelves are made of poor quality plastic and crack constantly. The drawers are the same way. The refrigerator is no longer under the warranty and Whirlpool wants $109 per shelf. I told them I would pay for replacement shelves only if they could send shelves that were made with better quality materials. Otherwise, I might be spending $1000 per year replacing shelves. The Whirlpool representative told me there is nothing that they can do. I see many people with this problem posting complaints on the internet. Do not buy a Whirlpool refrigerator. I have been married for 37 years and never had to replace one shelf in any refrigerator and still have a 40-year old refrigerator in my basement with no broken shelves!

Sometimes it will completely go off and then when the control panel comes back on, it sits paused until you push the button. We replaced the computer with a new one and it works even worse. I bought the Whirlpool Refrigerator wrf989sdam00 in September 2013. Ive had nothing but problems with it breaking down within the first year. 5 days after the first year the 2nd cooling coil stopped working. After several attempts to get some help from the company I paid $500 for the second coil to be replaced. One year later that second coil has broken down once again, called Whirlpool and got nowhere. Ill have to pay another repair company to come in, AGAIN, to repair this piece of junk! I bought Whirlpool Cabrio washer two months ago (Model number : WTW7300DW0). They indicate washer use less water and clean better, but that is not true. Some clothes on top of the load were not even getting wet and clothes smell bad after washing. Even worse is that clothes got holes in many places and some clothes were totally destroyed after washing. In just two months, I have to throw away many of my towels and clothes. I dont believe this kind of washer should be sold again. This should be a recall to give us a replacement ASAP and remove any products still in the market. There are many complaints online, I hope someone will stop this and do the right thing.

I purchased the original Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in April 2008 for $372, and an installation charge of $443, grand total - $815. In February 2012 the tank leaked profusely, enough to ruin a section of hardwood floor in the room behind the garage where it was installed. Whirlpool provided me with return authorization, and Lowes provided me with a replacement water heater. So far so good. Since the original installation was done through Lowes, the replacement had to be as well, according to Whirlpool, but now they charged $500 with tax to install the replacement water heater! Grand total now is $1315. Fast forward to May, 2014 and the replacement water heater, just barely 2 years old, shuts off with a code of Bad gas control valve/thermostat. I call Whirlpool and an extremely rude 20-something staffer tells me the unit is out of warranty by one month! The replacement unit has no warranty at all - nada - only the original one does... Is this unbelievable or what?! BUT, they would be glad to send me the replacement of the defective part for $200 PLUS overnight shipping charges, and I would be responsible for all labor charges to install it. Had I opted for this my original $372 water heater would have wound up costing me in the neighborhood of $1800!! I told her in no uncertain terms what she could do with the repair part, and now I am going to go shopping for a water heater that will last me more than 2-4 years, and you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool, and it wont come from Lowes.

After being a faithful Whirlpool consumer for years... I no longer have any
After being a faithful Whirlpool consumer for years... I no longer have any faith. I purchased an entire kitchen suite. The side by side refrigerator Nov 2013. The first refrigerator was delivered with the side cabinet deeply dented in several areas. Another was delivered 4 weeks later. Silly me... I thought, Okay, no big deal... what could go wrong? I didnt take time off work again to receive the replacement. My son took delivery (never looked at it). I get home... the front of both doors looked like they had been kicked in all the way across! To add, the cabinet sides were textured (not smooth like what I ordered) and the door handles didnt match the other appliances. So, I called HDepot & called Whirlpool (only to be on the phone an hour each time due to high call volume. Imagine?). Then Whirlpool reps are talking to me like I am some sort of idiot... saying that the refrigerator was EXACTLY the same... not possible that the handles or sides were different!!! Because it was damaged (and I mean ridiculous! ) another 8 weeks for a replacement. Frig #3 arrives and I take time off to receive it. Ah, the right refrigerator... but again ~ handles dont match. Not POSSIBLE.. Ms. _ _ _ _... it is the exact refrigerator, those are the same handles. Hours and hours on the phone to HDepot and Whirlpool. Finally, HDepot rep has a WP rep at the store when I call, and bingo! Oh yes, there are two styles of the Exact same model. The handles are ordered... 10 weeks later I finally have matching handles! But, wait... gets better. The fridge has been loud from the start, CONSTANTLY running but, not cooling some areas and freezing in others. Then when you open the freezer it is like a burst of winter wonderland is unleashed in your face. There are sheaths of ice building up on the top of the inside door. Hmm, I think what is going on? The Whirlpool designated repair company comes out. Ah, well here is part of your problem. When the refrigerator was being put together they left a few thicknesses of blue packing tape between the door and the rubber seal in the freezer. The rep tried to fix it to no avail because the door was also warped. First they were going to replace the door. Waiting for another 10 weeks. Nobody calls, whats going on? Oh, never mind, or rather... that was never happening. I have spoken to many reps with Whirlpool, I have been polite with all. In turn, from most I get curt hard ball back. The offers to resolve this from Whirlpool have been ridiculous. I am sorry for my loyalty to Whirlpool, as it has not been reciprocated. I have had two more deliveries - both the wrong unit! I never thought there were others out there. What a mess. They should recall.

Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for
Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for over 25 years and done a great job of washing my heavily soiled clothes. One day it refused to run and I tried to get parts for it but it had become obsolete and no parts were to be found for it, so I had to buy a new washer. I chose whirlpool again and let me say that it was a huge mistake. This model is a low water, high efficiency, top loading machine. It has nubs in the bottom that agitate to clean the clothes. The first time that I used the machine, I found that I had made a mistake purchasing this machine. It does not clean the clothes and there is NOTHING efficient about this machine. I have to run the washer twice to clean my clothes and they are still not clean. It leaves soap in the clothes and does not rinse them clean of the soap. What it does very well is extract water from the clothes during the spin cycle. This washer really turns up the high RPM`s on spin cycle. It has ripped apart several of my shirts during spin cycle. Whirlpool really failed badly on this machine. I see clearly now that Whirlpool is not the company that they used to be back in the 1980`s. I still have the whirlpool dryer that I bought back in the 1980`s and it still works very well. To end this story, I loaded up this NEW WASHER in the back of my truck and took it to the scrap yard and I asked them to destroy it in front of my eyes. I wished that I had recorded the destruction of this piece of JUNK and posted it on YouTube for the world to see. I got over $450.00 of pleasure watching the crane operator completely destroy this pile of crap. GREAT JOB WHIRLPOOL … YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER FOREVER. I WILL NEVER BUY ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE and will advise others not to buy Whirlpool products as well. I am a male, 62 years old and work hard for my ill spent money on your JUNK. Life is always a trial, live and learn the hard way. Warning to all consumers. Do not buy Whirlpool products ever!!!! We bought this fridge about 5 years ago, it was the exact same model as one we bought in 2003 but everything had changed, the plastic for the drawers was a fraction of the thickness in the older model and it breaks and cracks with the slightest bump like setting the lettuce in, the frame of the door is full of cracks and the fridge keeps leaking then freezing and making puddles on the floor. I purchased this machine in April and already, the right leg is rusted and the under seam of machine is rusted. I have throw rug under it and where the leg is, there is rust on the rug. I called service from Whirlpool and 2 servicemen came out. The first one told me I was loading it wrong and the water was splashing over the inside tub to rust the leg and I asked, So why is the seam under the machine rusted? No answer. The second one came out and told me he could not find anything wrong with the machine and doesnt know why it is rusting, but he never gave me a paper to sign off on. He also said that maybe it was rusted when it was delivered. Not!!! Then I call P.C. Richard in Watchung, NJ where I bought the machine at and told them about the problem. They sent a serviceman out and he said that the bleach condensation is causing the rust, its known fact that this machine has this problem. He said that the water does not run through the dispenser but there is a model that does. I want a credit on this machine and get the upgraded one. It states on the machine that I can use bleach but it doesnt say it will cause rusting. I want you to tell me how a 9-month-old machine is rusted on one leg and the seam underneath is also rusted!!!! I had a machine for 10 years and it wasnt rusted. I am very unhappy with this product and with the customer service of Whirlpool. Purchased a Whirlpool Electric Range August 2015. Purchased it because it looked pretty and the Aqua Lift Cleaning feature sounded too good to be true. As it turned out it WAS too good to be true! I have just read a # of reviews about this range and I agree with all complaints. Does anyone like this range? The AquaLift cleaning technology is a joke! The baking temperature fluctuates & I could not figure out how to improve on that (for the longest time I thought it was just me not being able to figure out my new oven). The most serious concern however, happened a couple of weeks ago when I turned on the oven & immediately the oven started to smoke and an electrical smell permeated throughout the house. Had I started the oven and immediately left the house our house would no doubt have been destroyed by an explosion/fire.Phoned Whirlpool & because the problem was so serious they had a serviceman at our door within 2 days (yes I am being sarcastic, it did take 2 days). At no time did the call centre express any concern nor did they advise me to unplug the range and to make sure I did not use it. Obviously, I would not use it but shouldnt that be something they advise as part of the checklist talking points.Serviceman arrives 2 days later & advises us that the parts alone would cost $650.00 & oh yes the labour costs to install the parts would be charged by the minute. I didnt even ask him how much per minute because only an idiot would repair this piece of junk!! The power cord to the range had basically melted right through; you could scrape the char right off the cord. The computer part of the range was shot and had a strong electrical smell to it. The serviceman basically said that I shouldnt shoot the messenger and charged us 93.45 to tell us that it was going to be a very costly repair.I disliked this range almost immediately and was looking forward to the day when I would have an excuse to purchase another electrical range. I did not think I would be shopping for another range within 1 1/2 years from the time I purchased this piece of crap!!! Nor did I think that there would be a possibility that this appliance could potentially be hazardous to my family and home. How long is Whirlpool going to ignore all these customer complaints? This range should be recalled! It not only is selling features such as the Aqua Lift technology that do not work properly, it is selling a potential fire hazard.I will never again purchase any appliance that is made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool makes a lot of appliances and uses names such as Maytag, Amana. KitchenAid, etc. I have purchased another range and this one is made by Frigidaire (no connection whatsoever to Whirlpool). I dont know what my experience will be with my new Frigidaire Range but so far I am loving it! Hopefully, my new appliance will not nearly burn my house down. Whirlpool: Step up to the plate & take responsibility for the defective electrical range you are selling before there is serious harm to persons or property! THIS ELECTRIC RANGE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED - MODEL # YWFE715HDEHD.
