Whirlpool Gold model WRS526SIAHOO - We purchased this refrigerator 10/2013
Whirlpool Gold model WRS526SIAHOO - We purchased this refrigerator 10/2013 with all the matching appliances when we remodeled the kitchen. We moved our 1997 GE refrigerator into the garage. Now the computer board has gone out in the Whirlpool and we are back to using the 97 GE. The technician told me that he sees a lot of these boards going bad.

I purchased Whirlpool front load washing machine (Sport 1072 CB) in March 2013 and since then it has been my worst nightmare. Buying a Whirlpool washing machine was one of the worst decisions I took. The problems started to come from the first month itself. Many parts have changed and are still being done. I am continuously requesting them to replace the machine but they have decided not to listen. The after sale service of Whirlpool is the worst in the industry.

Whirlpool Water Heater bought May 2011: Water heater not heating. I called Whirlpool and they stated the equipment is under warranty but not the labor; $137.50 for 1st hour of service. Troubleshooting is a joke. It just doesnt heat. Waiting on the 3 plumbers to call me back. They are busy. Water heater went out Sat morning and Whirlpool doesnt open until Monday. Its Monday at 5pm and Im still waiting on a call back.

I purchased this range in 2010 and needed to replace the control panel/switch membrane in 2011 and it was covered by the warranty. Then I purchased an extended warranty and needed to replace the same part again. Then I replaced it again in July 2016. This part cost $147 and you cannot operate the oven without it. There is something wrong with the range that is causing the failure and the cause of the failure should have been fixed when it was under warranty but now that it isnt under warranty, Whirlpool has refused to correct the problem or compensate me for the cost to replace the part.

Had this model (WMH73521CS-6) installed as part of kitchen remodel. After 8 months, microwave is failing, indicating door needs to be opened, then closed to operate. This does not fix the issue or reset the condition. AND, there is no way to reset the microwave electronics, not even power cycling (unplugging and replugging from/to electrical outlet).

We purchased a new home in July of 2011 and we paid extra for the upgraded appliance package, which included a Whirlpool Microwave/Convection Hood Combination unit. We have Model # GH7208XRS3. We use the microwave a few times a week and only used the home 6 months each year during 2012, 2013 and 2014, for a total of approximately 18 months. From the very beginning, we had trouble with the microwave control panel turning itself on and the electronics going through various timing and programming functions independent of any human operator.During the combined two-year warranty period from July 2011 July 2013 (the Manufacturers Warranty lasted one year and the Developers extended Warranty lasted an additional year) we had 5 service calls on the same issue. The Authorized Repair Center repairman called the Whirlpool Tech Line while he was in our home and was told that there was a flaw in the design of this model. They replaced the door and then when it acted up again, they replaced the control panel. In Nov. 2012, after the repairman told us the door needed to be replaced again, we asked for a new appliance since we had the same issue repeatedly and they had already tried to fix it by replacing the door and it was still under warranty. We were told that Whirlpool would not replace the appliance until they had tried to fix it three times and we needed to get a new door again. We were told that because it was the same issue repeatedly, we would get a replacement if it still went bad after the warranty was up. So we had the door replaced again, which did not fix the problem. In late 2014, we again had the same issue with the control panel and made a call to Whirlpools Customer Experience Center. At that time, we were told that the warranty was no longer in effect and Whirlpool would do nothing to fix the issue. Even though it was the same issue that they had attempted and failed to fix while under warranty, the company would no longer stand behind the promise of customer satisfaction and told us they will not replace a 3-year-old microwave. When I asked the Customer Service Rep to speak to a Manager to escalate the issue, I was transferred to the Tennessee Office. When I got the same repeated run-around from the Supervisor, Melissa, I asked that Customer Service Supervisor to let me speak to a Manager and she told me she could not give me the name of anyone else to speak with and hung up on me.I am writing to you to express my extreme disappointment in Whirlpool and the products reliability, the way the company has handled fixing the problem and especially in the conduct of the Customer Service department. Whirlpool gave us nothing but a run-around for the years the warranty was in effect, knowing that this model has a design flaw and trying to do band-aid fixes until the warranty ran out. We were told that our only option now is to pay to have the same problem fixed a fourth time or purchase a new microwave.Whirlpool has trained their Customer Service people to be polite but ineffective and obstructionist on the phone and then hang up on the customer when they cannot resolve the customers issue. I believe that Whirlpool should be committed to customer satisfaction and making sure that their products work as intended and fix the problem that was reported while under warranty, even if it no longer in warranty. Whirlpool should be as disappointed as I am that after three attempts the problem is still not fixed and should be committed to customer satisfaction enough to replace the appliance after three failed attempts.

Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Dryer combination on 4-5-2009, had it delivered on 4-20-2009, was very excited to get this set as it was like my first ever brand new washer dryer. I thought Id spend the money get something good and it would last for years and years. Was I ever wrong. I bought the set and the extended warranty from Lowes and my total with delivery was 2579.00. 20 days after the extended warranty expires (that I never used) the bearings on my Washer go bad. This thing in spin cycle sounds like a jet engine. I called to see if Lowes would still honor my warranty because I never used it and they said no. I called Whirlpool and checked to see if there was a recall and they said no. I checked to see if there is anything they could do at all because this is a huge known issue and of course they said no. (Just look on YouTube for Whirlpool bearing replacement and the amount of views should indicate the amount of troubled users.)Called a repair scheduled through Whirlpools website to come look at it for a 75 dollar assessment and they said it would be about 500-550 to replace the outer tub - largely due to the fact its labor intensive and the bearings are packed in the outer tub from the factory. I was like are you ** kidding me? I paid 1029 for the unit brand new in 2009 and 550 to fix? I said thank you to the repair guy and escorted him nicely out. Upon that I called back Whirlpool to tell them how displeased I am and how I will not be another product of theirs ever and mostly due to the fact they know this is a huge issue and wont do anything about it. I will be going to Lowes to see if the guy who sold me this pile of crap will work me a deal on another unit or set of another brand after I show him my receipt and express my displeasure with that product. If they wont do anything I will go to another store and spend my money elsewhere - I have choices and others do too. So if you are thinking about buying anything in the Cabrio line, dont. Go Samsung or LG - 10 year warranty straight from the manufacturer and costs 200-300 less than I paid for my washer dryer 5 years ago. The bearings are ** and shouldve lasted a lot longer for the amount I used this machine and for what I paid! Shame on you Whirlpool for using crappy parts to make your machines.

After a 10min hold time, I was instructed to rest unit, wait 10 to 15 min and try again. Did not work. Called back and was told it was the thermopile. Had it shipped and replaced at $45.00. Still did not work. Was instructed to go thru the same process of lighting it, still did not work. Then I was given a ref# and was told that my PARTS was warranty and not labor. Okay now one time I was told I WILL BE CHARGED WITH A DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF $99.00 and still no hot water. Next step LAWYER.

Had the washer 3 years. After 1st year had to replace motherboard and lid locking mechanism. Beginning of year 3 the basket came loose, the machine wouldnt spin the water out of the clothes completely and then it quit cycling into the next cycle, ie, the tub filled up with water for the wash cycle but then would not begin agitating. The water sat in the tub until the wash cycle was done and then would drain but would not spin. Each cycle had to be manually started by pressing the pause button, raising the washer lid, and then pressing the pause button again. I called a repair person who ran a diagnostic on the machine and said it needed a new pump, new motherboard again and something else to make it spin properly. Sorry I dont remember what the something is. The estimate to repair was approximately $759 so I am now shopping for a new machine thats not a Whirlpool.

Thermal couple went out and nobody has one. You have to get it from whirlpool. This could be a easy fix with buying a $6.00 thermal couple but the one on mine has left handed threads. I took it to several parts places and they all said you have to buy it from whirlpool so you have to call the 1 800 number and they ask you how soon do you want it, 5 to 6 days to take a shower for $10 shipping, or $20 for 3 to 4 days without a shower or $32 for overnight? This ** should be free if they are the only ones that have it. I never heard of this crap before. The funny thing is they told me I should replace my water heater since the warranty is expired. Dont worry I will buy a new one someday and it will be anything but a whirlpool. I will never buy anything whirlpool again and make sure my family never buys whirlpool.

Fridge residue - ED5FVGXWS07: Well, I gave it a long time and this is how they make Whirlpool refrigerators! I had a GE for 20 years and was so looking forward to this new one. What idiot designs a fridge that leaves water stains like this? And, the water falls onto the floor when refilling a water bottle plus there is no catch for the water. Argh! I really dont want to live with this for 20 years! Their resolution was to get a water softener; really?! It has a filter built in. They refused to replace the fridge.

Purchased this Dishwasher on Feb. 28, 2015. In June 2016 about a 2 by 3 inch section of the enamel face on the door rusted and fell off above the air vent. After three hours of hold time between Lowes (with the extended warranty) and Whirlpool (their warranty department) it was determined that this was not covered by either warranty as it was beyond the date of the 1-year mfg warranty and was not covered by the extended warranty (it was only a cosmetic issue). As these calls took place over a matter of 2 days, it was interesting that between day 1 and day 2, Whirlpool had issued a statement that no rust repairs would be covered under any warranty repair - regardless, unless it affects the functionality of the dishwasher. In other words, they KNOW this is an issue with this model and are doing nothing to fix the problem. I must say that the folks at Lowes were most helpful; cannot say the same for the folks at Whirlpool. I do not think I will trust their products again.

We bought the washer and dryer set almost three years ago. Great sales pitch! Energy saver, extra capacity, low water usage, Whirlpool name and I thought we were getting great quality! Three years later I am disgusted, disappointed and am junking the washer. The dryer has a new heating element that we proudly fixed ourselves after the repairmen told us that these were meant to be throwaways. We just thought he did not want to work on it. After watching several YouTube videos we had it apart and found the issue was a cracked heating element. We ordered a new one for 100$ and spent another 4 hours putting it back together. If we had to pay a repairmen to do all that the bill would have been the price of a cheap new one. Fast forward three weeks and now the washer quit and it can be one of at least 15 problems. After reading all these reviews we have decided to toss it as junk. It took forever to was a load of clothes negating any energy saving! Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off all of us hardworking Americans selling us junk. At one time the Whirlpool name meant you could count on a quality product! If Whirlpool really wanted to do the right thing, they would stop selling these immediately and give customers a credit toward the purchase of new washers and dryers!

I purchased a total of four Whirlpool appliances in June of 2008. Almost thirteen months after the installation of all four appliances, I experienced a problem with the control panel on the Gas Range GW397LXUB, and a sensor control problem with the Microwave GH5184XPB5. Fortunately, Whirlpool agreed to repair the appliances at no charge because it was so close to the end of the warranty. The microwave was an easy fix and simply had to be unplugged, reset and plugged back in. However, the entire electronic control panel had to be replaced on the gas range. Several of the buttons simply stopped working and I was only able to bake at 350 degrees. Again, almost thirteen months after the installation of the new control panel, it happened again. Same buttons stopped working. When I contacted Whirlpool, they refused to replace the part because I was no longer under warranty. Whirlpool refused to admit that there was a problem with the control panel, so I guess it was a crazy coincidence that I experienced the exact same problem on both. I filed an official complaint with Whirlpool in hopes that if enough people do so, they will issue a recall. I am now experiencing a problem with my refrigerator ED5FHAXSB03. The fan vibrates so loudly that you can hear it throughout the entire house.

The pilot light went out on our Whirlpool hot water heater. We followed instructions and were unable to relight. Our plumber was also unable to relight so we ordered new parts with associated overnight express costs. The plumber returned and worked for over an hour. When the pilot light came on the burner assembly burned out the new thermo coupling and that needed to be replaced again. This happened again. I have owned the machine for 1yr and 6 months, bought new from reputable company. The washer always had kind of a clunk sound which the manual says is normal. Clothes would have white marks and streaks after was but disappear when dry. Clothes would seem damp, never like they were completely washed. Went to do a load last night and thats when it stopped working. Powered on, cycle selection was fine, lid locked, typical clunk noise, then nothing, no water. Paused the cycle, lock lid light flashed but didnt unlock. Machine powered off on its own and unlocked. I powered it back on after 30 minutes and it wouldnt let me change the cycle, panel selection was frozen. So I powered it off and contacted repair. They think its the water inlet? Pending repair to see for sure. This is not OK! I had an older machine from the 90s that was still working before I bought this one. So sad to have this type of product from this company.

Two years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine from Sears. All of a sudden, it was making sounds in the spin cycle that sounded like a jet airplane taking off. It was terribly loud. We called repair technician, which cost $90, only to find out that the bearing is gone and its going to cost over $500 to fix it. This is absolutely ridiculous! We expected it to last several years, only to find out that we would have to spend almost as much as the washer originally cost in order to fix it. We paid $700 for this machine, two years ago, and I can say that Ive never been more disappointed with a product in my life. My previous washer lasted thirteen years, not to mention my dryer and stove fifteen years, with minimal repairs. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. I have read some other complaints on this consumer affairs website, as well as other sites, regarding this same washer with the same problem on the bearing and cost to repair. If anything, I think Whirlpool should make good on this product and offer something regarding a recall or payment for repair in some form. As far as Im concerned, I will alert everyone I know about Whirlpool appliances and advise them not to purchase it. Now, I either have to pay over $500 to repair my washer or go buy another one. I do not even want this Whirlpool appliance in my house when I can get a washer for cheaper than the cost to repair it.

Our Whirlpool Duet Washer pair is 2.5 yrs old. The washer didnt work at first, but a repairman found the problem and fixed it right up. They have not broken. The dryer has been fine and we have had them stacked for most of the time without any issues. My problem sounds minor compared to those others listed here, but this thing is ruining all our white or light colored clothes. They go in white, and come out covered with splotchy, dirty looking spots literally all over them! They werent that kind of dirty when they went in. It’s the oddest thing, like it makes dirt. Reading some of these concerns makes me wonder if it has a mold problem inside somewhere, and that is what is ruining our clothes. Tax return is coming and it is going. End of story.

I purchased it new in July 2008 for $550, a single homeowner average 4-5 loads a week. First time it broke down, it was just inside the one-year limited warranty. It broke down again Sept. 2011, the basket separated from spinning mechanism. I learned that after $75+ missing day of work, repair tech quoted cost of repair $885 and a minimum of 10 days waiting for part to arrive.I called Whirlpool, the guy on the phone was nice but told me I was out of luck. Even if I had purchased the 3-year warranty, I would still be out of luck. The washer was manufactured in April 2008. What a piece of junk. Save your money and skip it. I wish I had. Last year I purchased a Whirlpool washer at the suggestion of a friend who works at Lowes. It was dented and reduced, but my 20 year old Maytag, although still chugging away, was due for replacement. Am I sorry I did! My husband has recently broken his hip and we were caught in Hurricane Matthew just 1 day after I brought him home. We were forced to evacuate. Upon returning with a mountain of laundry, I found my washer lock light blinking although the washer had not been running when we lost power. I tried opening it but could not. I unplugged and reconnected power to no avail. I called customer service only to find we had to wait 2 weeks for a Whirlpool repair person. He arrived yesterday (Oct 26, 2016) and charged $95.00 to tell me this was an almost universal problem with Whirlpools and the company was aware of it. He called this morning to tell me the required part would cost $495.00! The entire washer cost approx. $500. He stated that he thought Whirlpool should have covered the cost as it was not far out of warranty and a known defect, but he could not get Whirlpool to assist financially. I tried calling myself for an explanation of the fact that they knew these machines had a defective part and yet they sold them. I got a song and dance from the rep. Although my husband was unable to help and I am a 65 year old woman, I went out and bought the cheapest machine I could and manhandled it home and connected it. It is afternoon and I am on my 4th load of well overdue laundry, no thanks to Whirlpool. I intend to make this story public through every internet forum I can find. I have a large extended family and friends and I will make sure they do not purchase Whirlpool appliances if they are looking for a good product and good customer service. I will also be sure to never buy a Whirlpool appliance again.

My wife and I tried to buy a Whirlpool refrigerator and when dealing with their customer it seemed like the left hand didnt know what the right hand was doing. My wife and I were really disappointed being that these refrigerators are supposedly made in America; thats why we wanted a Whirlpool; but we would never buy a Whirlpool now because of the way we were treated also. Sincerely unhappy with our experience!

Whirlpool electric range oven wont turn off. Used the oven 2 or so times per year.... Very unsafe, expecting internal breaker that would shut the thing down. Whirlpool Range/Oven PT3196685 happened on 6-10-2014, was baking cookies with timer on for 9 min. First batch turn out good, 2nd batch on fire before even get to 6 min, the burner is brightly hot and cant shut off from the panel... Saw ERR then COOL indicator... Tried but no respond from panel. The burner element wont turn off and temp keep rising white hot... The only way to shutoff is the house circuit breaker. But soon you turn on the breaker, the oven would turn on by itself and you cant switch it off. Where is the safety breaker on these range/oven when something goes beyond 500 degree..... UNSAFE PRODUCT. Ordered a new Whirlpool Gold 700 series but canceled after discovered others experienced similar situation with the new product. Could have burn down the house and worst when lives involved. WONDER IF ANYTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THESE SAFETY ISSUE.

I originally purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater in 2005. After numerous problems Whirlpool agreed to replace January 2010. With the new hot water heater, everything was fine for the first two years. Now about every 6 months, we are having the thermocouple and the igniter. Each time you order the part, the part is free but you have to pay $30.00 for shipping. I am tired of dealing with this. We have decided even though we still have a warranty left on the hot water tank we are going to purchase a different one and never ever buy another Whirlpool product. They do not stand behind their products.

This Whirlpool side by side 2 door Refrigerator/Freezer stopped working yesterday. It was manufactured in 04/2013, and I purchased it from Lowes on 5/26/2013. My invoice number is **. The last 2 refrigerators I have owned worked for well over 20 years each. Actually, longer, but I moved away from one of them. It is unbelievable to me that after 3 years, and 3 months, this unit has just stopped working. Of course, it is coming at a horrible time. In addition, it is summer time in Southern California, so the heat is high, and the desire for cold drinks and foods is also. It had been working well, until yesterday. Today, I am experiencing the foods become warmer and warmer. I will not be purchasing another Whirlpool Product of any kind.

My review merely echoes the other 1-star reviews Ive read below, but Im including it anyway. We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio from Lowes in 2013. Two weeks ago, a mere five years after purchase and shortly after our warranty expired, it broke. It kept showing the UL code and took multiple cycles to wash the clothes. Unacceptable. We called the technician; he came out; told us it was the bearing that busted; and quoted us $800 to fix it (I noticed below another customer was quoted $400 for the same issue). We told the technician thanks but no thanks and purchased a $450 Samsung washer. Our family will never purchase any Whirlpool product again. From their customer service to the performance of their machines-- its all very much lacking.

I bought a Whirlpool Dishwasher, Model No. GU3600XTVY in July 2010 for $844.30. In August 2011, it failed to clean dishes. The repairman said it needed a new heating element and computer board which costs $319.92. Today, he installed the new parts and it still wont heat the water! Now he wants to take it in to the shop to check the wiring. My previous Dishwasher was a low quality builder-installed GE that lasted 16 years without repair. If we Americans accept that 1 year is an acceptable life span for consumer products, we will continue to have this type of trash sold to us. Made in America is now the product you dont want to buy.

We sit it up, see the back side bulge out and with some searching we discovered the balance thingy was broke. Now I bought April 2012 while going through Chemo May 2014. I burying my washing. Call Whirlpool. Well they say I file this away sorry about your luck - lol. Do not buy this washer unless you want another one in two years junk and they will not help. I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # WRF990SLAM00 in May of 2013. My wife started noticing ice build up on the ice maker in the refrigerator section of this French Door model. We had it serviced for the same problem 4 times and the problem still existed. At this point, Whirlpool offer to give us our money back, and here is where things got interesting. My wife spoke with a Sheila who was to issue a check to a third party company who would then pick up the refrigerator and give us the check. Sounds simple enough, huh? The company was to get the check in 7-10 business days so we bought a new refrigerator, a Samsung this time, and scheduled its delivery for the time frame we were told the non-functioning fridge would be picked up. My wife could not get in touch with Sheila, which was always a problem, and we talked to a Beth who told us that this whole process had not even been started yet. Well, we are having our new fridge delivered and still waiting on our check and for someone to come and pick up this American-made piece of crap! We wanted to buy American, but this is what we got, a piece of crap!!

My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Washer Mode Number WTW4955HW1 in November 2020. The washer has had nothing but problems. It leaks, vibrates and moves on the floor. My mother called Home Depot to see what she needs to do, and they said once they deliver the product it is out of their hands. Had our first service call in May 2021 by an authorized service and he said they should sell this on eBay. It is a horrible product, he said there is nothing he can do. Had a second authorized service in June 2021 and they said we needed a new tub which they ordered, and he said this will take up to 2 months, they also said to do only small loads and only use the deep-water wash and deep water rinse. After the technician left the agitator now comes apart. Would not recommend this product to anyone and I would never buy anything at Home Depot because they do stand by the products they sell.

Here in Brazil, we use to have a very good brand of durable and reliable refrigerators and home appliances called Brastemp, and I was a very happy, fidelized customer of theirs. The time came for me to move to my new house. I gave my old appliances away to friends and modeled my new kitchen with Brastemp products. What I didnt know then is that Whirlpool bought the brand in 2000 and was selling their appliances over the Brastemp brand since.Whirlpool is clearly selling disposable appliances here. My vacuum cleaner failed after a week. My brand new refrigerator and laundry machines failed weeks after the one-year warranty and the dishwasher sometimes heats up and tips the 20A circuit breaker (suggested by the manufacturer), which is only for the dishwasher. For my complete surprise, my old appliances are still functional in my friends house. I got my old dishwasher back and I had absolutely no problems since. The vacuum cleaner failed again, this time 5 months out of warranty. In all fail cases, the price to fix it was about 70% of the price of a new one, which I took as a sign to replace them for something else. Good job, Whirlpool! You bought a nice brand, trashed it and gave the finger to fidelized customers you acquired with the new brand by replacing quality products with built-in obsolescence others. What do you plan to do next? Whatever it is, dont count on me as a customer ever again.

I purchased this machine in April and already, the right leg is rusted and the under seam of machine is rusted. I have throw rug under it and where the leg is, there is rust on the rug. I called service from Whirlpool and 2 servicemen came out. The first one told me I was loading it wrong and the water was splashing over the inside tub to rust the leg and I asked, So why is the seam under the machine rusted? No answer. The second one came out and told me he could not find anything wrong with the machine and doesnt know why it is rusting, but he never gave me a paper to sign off on. He also said that maybe it was rusted when it was delivered. Not!!! Then I call P.C. Richard in Watchung, NJ where I bought the machine at and told them about the problem. They sent a serviceman out and he said that the bleach condensation is causing the rust, its known fact that this machine has this problem. He said that the water does not run through the dispenser but there is a model that does. I want a credit on this machine and get the upgraded one. It states on the machine that I can use bleach but it doesnt say it will cause rusting. I want you to tell me how a 9-month-old machine is rusted on one leg and the seam underneath is also rusted!!!! I had a machine for 10 years and it wasnt rusted. I am very unhappy with this product and with the customer service of Whirlpool. This is my first Whirlpool washer and I would not recommend this washer to anyone. I paid $600.00 for this washer and it should not be rusting.

I purchased the Cabrio washer during the black Friday sale. The washer was a pretty slate gray. I loved the color and the fact it was a Whirlpool, which I thought meant quality. It was expensive but we were updating our appliances as our 10 year plus washer needed replacing. Big mistake. This washer is terrible. It keeps me stressed. There is not enough water to clean the clothes, my husbands white underwear is always dingy and dirty looking. The sheets are dirty and smells. I try putting bleach on whites before washing and the whites still come out with underarm stains. I tried all the recommendations to no avail. This machine is awful. This was a big financial mistake. As soon as I am able this machine is gone. Will go back to the agitator in the middle, and NOT a Whirlpool. I DO NOT recommend this machine unless you want something pretty because this is NOT a washing machine.

It was obviously designed by someone who has never had to clean a refrigerator. There are grooves in the door gaskets seemingly making their sole purpose to collect crumbs and mold with no obvious way to keep them clean (No, Q-tips dont do it). A layer of ice forms below the basket in the freezer (bottom freezer) which, when it melts, soaks the kitchen floor. Ice must be chipped out at least every two weeks to avoid flooding.

I purchased a Gold Star Whirlpool Refrigerator from Sears which was installed on July 1, 2010. The freezer was icing up along seams, so sealant was used. However, now I noticed after 14 months that the interior refrigerators lining is fracturing throughout the sides and bottom of the refrigerator. Not at seams but all over fractures, spanning 10 to 3 to 2 on the bottom and side of the interior lining of the refrigerator.Sears answer is more sealant, and Whirlpool does not take any responsibility in designing a defective liner since it is pass the one year time frame. This causes your refrigerator to be on more often, because of the cracks. Unfortunately, the consumer loses out. Both representatives were nasty and when I asked for a supervisor from Whirlpool, an incident report was written, however I will not ever be able to get a copy of it. It will be considered an internal document. It is a great setup between Whirlpool and Sears having defective appliances made to last a year, and Sears to win with warranty agreements for the life of your appliance of $250, for one year coverage. When you buy the warranty and have a lemon, Sears doesnt replace it, My suggestion to consumers is to buy a tube of sealant.

I called Whirlpool to have my dishwasher and fridge fixed. I knew exactly what was wrong with my fridge. I asked how much it would cost and was told $129.99. I asked why so much. I was told that it included the labor and service charge. I asked if I would need to pay for both units if I did it the same day. She said that the company provided a 30-dollar discount. I decided to only service the fridge at this time. I spent the entire day today, waiting for the service person to come. And when he showed up, I told him that the fridge needed a computer board. He then started telling me that it would cost $200 for labor. I explain that I was told that it should be $129.99 for service call and labor. And he said, No lady, its $70 for the service call and labor is $200. I then called Whirlpool where I spoke to multiple people within a forty-minute call to explain that this is absolutely wrong and that I am not going to pay for the service call. I then spoke to a Niki (3544) who is supposed to be a manager, who basically said my problem now is with the service company, not with Whirlpool and that there is nothing they can do even if they misquoted me. I agreed to pay $129.99 for service and labor, not an $70 service plus labor. I am so upset because I have been a client of Whirlpool for ten years. I have called for service on multiple items in my home, and I have never had a problem. This is so outrageous. I absolutely expect Whirlpool to rectify this mistake. I am also going to report this matter to the BBB and to Fox News. Whirlpool representatives should be able to provide a quote for one thing, and then when the service comes to your home, its a different amount.

My experience was terrible. We purchased a side by side refrigerator on June 27, 2011 and it stopped working in December, 2011. We reported this onDecember 19, 2011. A repairman was sent out a few days later, who could not solve the problem because a piece had to be ordered. The piece was ordered and the repairman came to install the part on December 28, 2011.The refrigerator is still not working at all. We have been without ice for this period of time, not to mention the inconvenience of non-refrigeration of food. I pleaded for them to pick up the refrigerator and give me even a partial refund. I was told that three repairs had to be done before they would even consider picking up the refrigerator. I am not a person who complains, but this was ridiculous. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product.

In 2008, I purchased the 40-gal. Whirlpool electric water heater to replace the original unit in my home that had lasted 14 years without issue until it died of old age. After about 2 1/5 years, it died and I was given authorization to return it to Lowes at my insistence. Now after another 2 1/5 years, this one has died. So far, I have replaced both elements, lost a days work, missed out on a date because I could not take a shower and now Im told I have to replace the electrical box on top which wont get here until Monday. Its Saturday and I havent been able to take a shower in my home for 5 days now.The first CSR (Crystal) I spoke with implied that since I had 2 consecutive failures, this was a site problem, not a product problem. Theres nothing special about my site, and my old unit made it 14 years with zero repairs. I would argue that since both of the units only lasted 2 1/5 years, that the product is substandard. I asked to speak to a manager but was told no because they were all busy (no doubt) and her demeanor was unapologetic and unsympathetic. The second CSR (Nick) I spoke with was very nice and at least sympathetic. That goes a long way in customer service, but I was still not allowed to speak with a manager.I am going to try and repair it one more time, but I have zero confidence in Whirlpool and would never buy another Whirlpool product of any sort again. If I get it working, and after all Ive read here I doubt that I will, I will only be using it for the time it takes to get a replacement of another brand. This was my first experience with a Whirlpool product and you can be sure it will absolutely be my last.

I purchased the original Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in April 2008 for $372, and an installation charge of $443, grand total - $815. In February 2012 the tank leaked profusely, enough to ruin a section of hardwood floor in the room behind the garage where it was installed. Whirlpool provided me with return authorization, and Lowes provided me with a replacement water heater. So far so good. Since the original installation was done through Lowes, the replacement had to be as well, according to Whirlpool, but now they charged $500 with tax to install the replacement water heater! Grand total now is $1315. Fast forward to May, 2014 and the replacement water heater, just barely 2 years old, shuts off with a code of Bad gas control valve/thermostat. I call Whirlpool and an extremely rude 20-something staffer tells me the unit is out of warranty by one month! The replacement unit has no warranty at all - nada - only the original one does... Is this unbelievable or what?! BUT, they would be glad to send me the replacement of the defective part for $200 PLUS overnight shipping charges, and I would be responsible for all labor charges to install it. Had I opted for this my original $372 water heater would have wound up costing me in the neighborhood of $1800!! I told her in no uncertain terms what she could do with the repair part, and now I am going to go shopping for a water heater that will last me more than 2-4 years, and you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool, and it wont come from Lowes.

If there had been a choice for no stars I would have given it none. I bought the Cabrio washer and dryer 2 years ago and been dissatisfied from the beginning. It was recommended to me by the repairman who gave me the bad news that my old Whirlpool was not repairable. I suspect that his recommendation came from the fact that it has a good record with regard to repairs and not that it did a good job cleaning clothes.I thought that perhaps there was a learning curve and I would figure it out. Not so. This washer leaves stains, sometimes even not getting something thoroughly wet. The washer does not get clothes clean, especially whites. I have replaced two sets of white towels because they were never entirely clean and eventually became so dingy that I donated them to the Humane Society. I tried using Oxy Clean and even bleach, but nothing works in this washer. Any workout or sports clothes I soak first in the sink because not doing so results in smelly cleaned laundry that has to be repeatedly washed to remove any sweat odors. The final straw came when I washed a small fleece dog pad and it came out of the washer with one third of it not ever having touched water. I tried explaining these issues to Whirlpool customer service agents, who blithely informed me that Whirlpool can do nothing to help. So, I will donate this heap of metal to anyone who is willing to take it on and never purchase another Whirlpool product. Incidentally, I submitted this review to the whirlpool review site and they refused to publish it.

Whirlpool N50T61-403 - I bought this thing today 8.21.14 from Lowes. It is a Whirlpool 50-Gal water heater (6th sense) and was going to have it installed by their installer, but elected after seeing it was very similar to lining up with my old unit. I got it in and then filled it. After filling, I lit the pilot light per the instructions then turned the knob for heating it up. Success, the flame spread across the burners...then went out. The steady blink changed to the 2 blink code indicating a bad thermopile. It did not work - right out of the box. No plumber near me carries the part. Whirlpool has thus been pretty good about it offering to have someone come out at their cost... But if no one has the parts, that is no good. I am moving from this house so if we can get it to work, its the problem for the next owner. If not - Ill have to get an RMA and go back to Lowes... Then try the Rheem from Home Depot. Will see if they will overnight a part tomorrow. I found the other reviews - and I dont like it that this thing appears to have difficulty right out of the box.

We recently purchased a new Whirlpool refrigerator and washer/dryer set from Home Depot. The truck for delivery was late and unable to pick up the refrigerator in time for scheduled delivery. Whirlpool contacted us to inform that it was now on back order for another week claiming there was nothing else they could do. Strike one. We paid for the installation and kit for the washer and dryer set. The tech who delivered them claimed the kit was not correct and that he could not install the dryer. We contacted Home Depot, Whirlpool, and had Home Depot call Whirlpool on our behalf with no resolution. They will not refund the installation even though they didn’t install anything.Whirlpool will not directly say whether or not they will send someone else out to actually install it this time. To top it off - I asked the Whirlpool rep which kit needs to be used and she told me whichever I want... for a gas hook up... whichever I want. This is ridiculous and Whirlpool has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Side note - don’t waste time on the chat feature they provide. I felt compelled to write this review, to sum it up NEVER buy ANY Whirlpool, KitchenAid etc brand. Nothing but the worst experience, it all started with a 5 year old Whirlpool fridge that stopped cooling, I called and they said they could send someone for like 200$ and that it does not guarantee it will be fixed. So I called an independent and he tried to refill the freon, but it was leaking behind the fridge in a section you cannot access because they want you to buy another one, so 5 year old fridge in the garbage and now to top it off, a KitchenAid knife set that is barely used, one of the big knives broke cutting a fruit, and good luck in any circumstance getting any customer service. SO NEVER AGAIN, TRUST ME AND PUT YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE ON ANY OTHER COMPANY.

Glad to know we are not alone in our disappointment with our Whirlpool French door refrigerator, but I am wondering what and when Whirlpool is going to do something about this. What a blow to their reputation. Goes to show things are not made as they used to be. We purchased our Whirlpool Gold French door (bottom freezer) in August of 2010. Here we are October 2012 and this is the third time it has stopped working. We have lost food, weekends waiting for repair people and cleaning up messes, and money. Same problem as others are reporting - the electronic board and controls. I just spent my Friday evening on the phone with Whirlpool, first explaining the problem to no result then waiting for a manager to call me back. Who (guess what?) never called. I finally called them and got the same script as the rest of you. It is outside the manufacturer warranty. Really, that is what you are giving me? Plus they will only look at it if we have a Whirlpool repair person come see it. When can they come? In 4 days! Ha, not likely. I am not giving this company another cent. We spent almost $2,000 on this fridge, all we are getting is 2, 3, 5 years? What a shame. We are fortunate enough to have had some space in our garage beer fridge for what I can save of the food. Our 7 years old, $300 Moffat fridge has been working like a charm. We will never again fall for the looks of a Whirlpool, let alone purchase another one of their appliances.

Cabrio WTW8200YWO - We purchased this washer five years ago. About a year ago it started getting noisier and noisier on spin cycle. Now it sounds like a jumbo jet taking off. A Google search quickly revealed this is a ubiquitous problem with these washers. As we are in our 70s and dont have kids at home, we are very light users of the washer. First, I would suggest that no one buy this washer. Second, I suggest that Whirlpool should recall these washers. I called Whirlpool and it turns out they clearly know about this issue. The good news is they will offer you a discount on repairs or even on a new machine. The bad news is it will still cost you several hundred dollars to fix their design defect. I suggest that you avoid purchasing Whirlpool products both because of their defective design and because of Whirlpools unwillingness to take responsibility for these problems.

I have no problem with Conns. My complaint is with Whirlpool for making such a terrible machine with the Cabrio Washer. Its a piece of junk.Fortunately, I bought the extended warranty – which was used many times to replace computer modules and pumps. Now that the warranty is out, once again the machine is doing the same thing. Bad codes, not filling, etc... Some cycles you cant use it at all. The cleaning cycle is never ended (literally). I am debating on having it fixed or just getting another machine.

We purchased Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model #WTW7300DW0 and Dryer in 2013 from Home Depot. The washer is the worst appliance we ever owned. It makes a horrific metal rubbing noise during agitation. The Whirlpool assigned repair service provider, after 2 trips and $300 has been unsuccessful in repairing the problem. Even after he called Whirlpool direct for assistance. Given that we used a Home Depot Gift Card for purchase, the repair expense is rapidly diminishing any benefit to keeping the machine. Well not even consider purchasing Whirlpool again.

This should not have happened. Not real impressed with this machine.

Our 4 year old Cabrio top loading washer failed. Apparently there is an engineering design issue with the pump and tub assembly causing the machine to not complete its spin cycle. These items will typically fail between two to four years of operation. We paid $1,000 for what we thought was a high end machine from Whirlpool. After having a local repair company diagnose the issue, we were told by Whirlpool we must use their authorized service companies. After 6 weeks of waiting for service, parts and several trips to the laundromat, we had the repairs completed by Whirlpools authorized service provider. Within one week, our machine failed again, called Whirlpool and they said will not help us. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!!!

They really dont make them like they use to, do they? This Whirlpool Cabrio aka Caprio has given us problems for the past 3 years, weve owned it for 5 years. It doesnt matter how much, or how little clothing you put in this washer machine. It will start going NUTS, Thudding, Banging against the inside of itself, completely out of whack, and then it will show a UL where the time is shown. Every time we do laundry this happens, and we have to stick our hands in the hot water and reorganize the clothes, and pull more and more clothes out till theres only about 3 items of clothing left! This washer is GARBAGE! I advise people to keep away from it. The washer we had in the past lasted us years upon years. These washers of now in days are Crap Garbage. Keep the fancy tech look, and give me the old fashion Knobs ANY DAY! Whirlpool brand is Not what it once was.

Cabrio washer 2015 model - The worst washer in 40 years. Everytime I use it I ask myself why did you buy this? Sure it conserves the amount of water but I havent noticed a nickel in savings because you have to wash the same load a couple of times. Since the days of cleaning in a stream clothes have been beaten to remove soil. How in gods name was I fooled into thinking this washer would actually clean our clothes. I put a folded tablecloth in it and when I emptied it the tablecloth was still folded. IF YOU NEED A CLOTHES WASHER TO ACTUALLY CLEAN CLOTHES, DONT BUY THE KIND WITHOUT AN AGITATOR. We purchased 29.7 cu. ft. side by side in February 2013. Ever since we got it, there is an excessive amount of moisture that builds up in the refrigerator section. It is to the point that the bottom shelf must be dried every other day; otherwise water spills out the front. Most of the moisture forms around the cold air duct work leading in from the freezer. We placed collection containers under the duct work which helped a little. We also tried various temperature settings, still no help. We tried online support and were given many excuses for the excess moisture. Support advised to change the defrost cycle, which we did and failed to correct problem. Support finally threw up their hands and said to call for service. Unfortunately, we were advised since the unit was purchased in Florida and shipped out of the country, the warranty was void. Try and get service in the Bahamas! Ha! This will be the last Whirlpool product we will ever buy.

I thought the new AquaLift cleaning would be the greatest. Boy, was I disappointed -- no thoroughly disgusted and very angry -- when I tried to use the self cleaning oven. I had cooked a prime rib roast and a lot of grease had spattered inside the oven. I wiped away the excess and did a cleaning cycle -- what a joke! There was still grease running down the door and walls. Nothing was changed after two cleaning cycles. Now I have to crawl inside the oven and scrub it manually. I was always pleased with the old self cleaning ovens which only left some ash and a little bit to clean up. The AquaLift technology doesnt work at all, didnt Whirlpool test it prior to selling it to the public? They will surely lose my business and I hope a lot of other peoples business as well. This technology was a huge mistake!!

We bought this combo at Lowes and was looking forward to their arrival. Unfortunately, we have had so many problems with both appliances. The washer is constantly having an error and we can only wash clothes on the quick wash cycle or else it will shake like crazy, get an error, and stop. We had the washer a little over a year when we had someone come look at it. We were told there is something wrong with the load sensor and it was going to be $350 to fix it. As for the dryer it will dry for a little bit and completely stop (no error) and restart later on by itself. I have been a devoted Whirlpool customer but not after this. I thought it was only us having these problems but obviously not. They have discontinued this set. No recall... ridiculous.

I have had the Whirlpool washer for almost a year. It has multiple settings for different types of laundry, i.e. towels, bedding/bulky, colors. It is intuitive. My husband is able to put laundry in and is able to figure out which cycle to use. The tub is roomy and holds large items well. The dryer I just purchased in the last month or so. It matches my washer and so far I love it. It has very similar settings that match the washer. The lint filter is very effective, cleaning after each load is highly recommended. It dries quickly and is quiet.

We have had our Whirlpool for 6 months. It doesn’t always keep things uniformly cool. Oftentimes some items are frozen while others are not. The water dispenser button leaks in a dribble down the front of the fridge after each use. The drawers do not move easily when they contain a moderate amount of food. The freezer works great. All in all it does a decent job but I definitely wouldn’t consider it one of the best.

Regarding a Whirlpool Refrigerator (model ET8CHMXKQ04) purchased in 05. I dont remember exactly when the problem began but the freezer starts its defrost cycle, water drips down through the refrigerator compartment (soaking all paper/cardboard covered products), collects under the crisper trays and eventually spills out onto the floor. Its a river of water that requires a towel to collect.I believe whats missing is some sort of collection funnel and tube that catches this dripping water and delivers it to the evaporation tray behind the base cover plate under the refrigerator. Obviously, Whirlpool has no quality control nor does it do any field tests to ensure their products are designed and operate properly.

I purchased top load washer and dryer from Lowes last week. When I was washing clothes the first time 12/4/18 (the day Lowes delivered) I washed in quick wash setting, machine was showing me all stages of the wash on the progress lights. It took about one hour for one load. Today 12/11/18 I spoke to your customer service associates Trina regarding the issue with my top load washer wed4815ew1 serial m82572023. I was told a technician is schedule for repair tomorrow. I try to quick wash two loads, washer progress light only went to wash mode only. I had to press start/pause, select drain and spin to remove excess water. I started 8:30 am and finish around 1 pm. I was waiting for the cycle to finish, twice all progress stages light went blank. I have no idea when it will be done. Machine made noise, not spinning, no water in it. The dryer wtw4816fw2 serial c84621285, I dry at energy prefer setting, when the clothes was dry, dryer continue without the buzzing signal to stop. I had to keep watch of the time and turn it off manually so it not energy efficient when I have to monitor when clothes will be dry.

Typically, my experience with washing machines is I buy a new one after years of service simply because I want a more updated model. I just bought a different brand to replace the Cabrio as it has another broken hinge (one rusted out. How bizarre is that?) And it wont work on some of the choices for cycles. The first time I called whirlpool, they were totally unresponsive and told me there was not any problems with the machine even though the part I needed was on backorder for three weeks. My new fridge is leaking large amounts of water on the floor, but it is not from the ice maker, as it is not hooked up. I have a Whirlpool refrigerator, model number GB2FHDXWS04, purchased in August of 2010. It was with good faith that I chose what I thought was a high-quality product, as well as, it was chosen because it was made in the USA and would be supporting US families, not China.Within one year, just as soon as the one-year warranty expired it began leaking water daily, all over my wooden kitchen floor, causing the floor boards to begin buckling. It is not from the ice maker, as it is not hooked up. Not only is my floor being ruined, but my one-year old refrigerator is not working up to standards, for which I chose the Whirlpool brand. My refrigerator has been maintained and operated by all instructions provided for this product.I assume that this company no longer wants to be in good standing with its customers, and refuses to make good on a major problem, for which a large amount of money was spent on a high quality serviceable item, by paying for the repair or replacement of obviously defective parts, or by the replacement of the entire refrigerator.

We bought a Whirlpool dishwasher (Ser# F21102027MOD, Model# WDF730PAYB2) after reading some of the reports that it was just as good as a Bosch. Wrong! We bought this washer March 17. On May 17, the selector switch and sub control broke down. We had bought this item at the HH Gregg store here, and also purchased a 5-year warranty which they said we cannot use because the dishwasher is only 2 months old. Is there a lemon law? And what makes this worse is that we called Whirlpool on May 18th. They could not get anyone out here until May 25th to look at it. As of this time, they still could not fix it because the two parts had to be ordered. Today is June 1st and the part is still not in? Makes me think, does this part always go down because its on back order? So you are fully warned, do not purchase a Whirlpool. If I can get some extra money, I am throwing it out and buy a Bosch because I dont think it will ever be fixed.

Why am I not surprised by this stupid American company? I purchased a brand new fridge in June this year and for the last 5 months I have had about 20 different technician visits by five different technicians who changed almost everything you could possibly imagine - evaporator, control, sensor, compressor, display, etc., etc. And the company still refused to take any responsibilities. They kept telling me that more inspection was needed EVEN AFTER all the technicians said there was NOTHING THEY COULD DO. After having to yell at them for about an hour, they finally realized they had to issue me a new fridge. What a piece of crap they are. Even then when I called back about the exchange, they pretended they could not find my file. WTF??? They really tried EVERYTHING they could not to issue an exchange. Wow. What an incredible company and its customer service. I will never, ever buy another American product - nothing complicated with computerized parts anyway. They are NOT capable of producing such complex machines. They should stick with toasters or juicers - lol. Stupid Americans. LG and Samsung all the way baby!!! ** you Whirlpool.

I bought the Whirlpool WTW 5000DW1 washer and dryer to go with it. Within the first 2 weeks the plastic handle broke on the dryer. Ive been using the corner of the plastic handle ever since to open the dryer. The washer is the worst washer I have ever purchased in my life. The tub doesnt fill up over the clothes half the time. It is perfectly balanced on the floor but it always bounces around and you cannot open it to rearrange the clothes because they lock the lid. The only option is to try to hold it and wait for it to finish or start over by pressing the button for at least 3 seconds. I have had a few items get shredded by it and a lot of times the clothes dont get cleaned and rinsed properly. Even on 2 rinse option. Just the fact that it has a 2 rinse option is a big red flag. It is supposed to be a energy saver and water saver but that isnt true. If you have to wash and rinse the clothes twice because it has spots from the detergent still on the sheets, something just isnt right. Whirlpool shouldnt even put a product like this on the market.
