My Side-by-Side Whirlpool fridge which I bought very expensive in Colombia
My Side-by-Side Whirlpool fridge which I bought very expensive in Colombia one year ago had the glass shelves totally cloudy and foggy. You could hardly see what was inside. 8 technicians were sent through the authorized center to meet warranties to check the fridge. The first 7 technicians(!) did not have a clue of what the problem was. After many calls, they sent a supervisor who discovered the problem and finally, after 10 months of this battle, they changed the fridge for a new one. But guess what?! I received the new fridge 2 weeks ago and the new one has exactly the same problem. I am very disappointed and I do not know what to do at this point. Going through the same process again makes me sick but losing my money and all the time invested in this product makes me furious. Is there any way that Whirlpool can help me through this forum?

Purchased model WRT311FZDMOO refrigerator on Aug. 6. Took 3 weeks for delivery. All 3 door bins for this refrigerator have cracked after less than 2 months. Called customer service. They say its wear and tear. And ask how many would I like to purchase. Looked online. Cost is 30.00 to 32.00 per bin. Cant put milk in the door bins. The cracks puncture the container. Poor quality plastic.

lD and UL codes are displaying. The UL code displays when the load is even and also displays UL load when I take all clothes out of washer. How could the load be uneven if there are no clothes in? I have had four different issues with this washer. I have started use on this washer in Aug. 2008 and there have been already three major repairs. I am a very dissatisfied customer. I dont know if I should spend more money on washer repairs or just buy a new washer. Please help.

After only 6 months of use, the cooktop light bulb burned out. When I tried to replace it, the glass part of the bulb separated from the base. The bulb is screwed in so that the base faces away from the front of the microwave. With the small cavity and the backward installation, it will be impossible to remove. Now I have no light and dread how much a service call will be. The unit was installed by a contractor prior to our purchase of the house and it is now out of warranty.

I purchased it new in July 2008 for $550, a single homeowner average 4-5 loads a week. First time it broke down, it was just inside the one-year limited warranty. It broke down again Sept. 2011, the basket separated from spinning mechanism. I learned that after $75+ missing day of work, repair tech quoted cost of repair $885 and a minimum of 10 days waiting for part to arrive.I called Whirlpool, the guy on the phone was nice but told me I was out of luck. Even if I had purchased the 3-year warranty, I would still be out of luck. The washer was manufactured in April 2008. What a piece of junk. Save your money and skip it. I wish I had. Aside: Whirlpool, whatever happened to standing behind your products? I used to think you were a quality brand. Im extremely disappointed and wont be purchasing any of your products in the future.

My old Whirlpool stopped working so I purchased a new one 2 weeks ago. I have had 3 items ruined since using this machine. It is leaving blotchy spots on the clothes and they will not come out. I do not use bleach but the spots look like bleached spots or stains. After reading other reviews I would like to know what the manufacturers are going to do. It is not very economical if we have to rewash everything or replace clothes the new washers are ruining. I have just spent hundreds of dollars for something that does not do its job and would like to know what the solution is. Is there a model washing Machine out there that still cleans clothes? Since mine is only 2 weeks old can I trade it in (Lowes)?

We bought a new stove from Lowes in 2015 which is a Whirlpool with an AquaLift self-cleaning function. This function is totally useless. We have tried it several times and it does not remove the grime from the oven. We did not even have a very dirty oven. It doesnt clean the sides at all and the bottom is still dirty. I complained to the store and they told me the AquaLift function should be used every time the oven has been used. They recommend that I use a spray for the oven (which is porcelain) and scrub off the dirt. Give me back my old self-cleaning oven with the high heat. This new technology doesnt work.

I tried to get a hold of Whirlpool customer service. But I couldn’t get a hold of customer service at 877-817-6750. It is motel business without hot water. We could not open the business. We tried to find the right phone number to explain the situation to Whirlpool customer service rep.

Whirlpool slide in range, microwave, dishwasher, KitchenAid fridge: All appliances, stainless finish, were bought with my home in October 2006. Range - Within the first year, I had problems with the outer plastic pieces breaking, the motherboard and the oven and broiler not working. The screws holding the knobs on fell out several times. The oven door was fixed several times this past year until finally it fell off and broke for good and now the oven does not work at all. Microwave - The rotisserie motor stopped working this past year. Dishwasher - Just after the first year, the outer shell of the door came apart. KitchenAid fridge - Within the first year, the temperature adjuster broke. The second year, the ice maker stopped working. This year, the ice maker broke again and the motor quit working twice already and all has been repaired. The freezer handle has fallen off as well.

Weve had this washing machine only a few years, and our household of 2 probably averages 1 load of laundry per week. Weve always had the same problem everyone has with the detergent stains on clothing and having to rewash loads, and the only remedy weve found was using the oversized loads setting and rewashing a load. The last straw was 6 months ago. It quit going through a complete cycle and would not spin out without resetting it. Then it quit spinning out at all. Service Guard, a 3rd party warranty company, diagnosed a faulty motor and ordered a replacement. After a long delay Whirlpool advised it was back-ordered for 3 months. A week ago Whirlpool advised them it was now back-ordered until 5-27. They did not know whether wed ever obtain a replacement motor. After taking clothes to our sons house for a couple months to wash, we purchased another used machine to use until ours is repaired. It is beginning to appear that machine may be our permanent machine. This is a pretty sad testimonial about whirlpool. We have always used Whirlpool appliances but appears we may have to switch brands. And it certainly does appear these low water machines are garbage. Very disappointed in Whirlpool.

After 32 years of marriage and nothing but Whirlpool (because my mother swore by Whirlpool), that is all we have used. I am so disappointed in the Cabrio washer/dryer set we purchased at Lowes. After 18 months, the dryer just quit. The best part is, we hang clothes out most of the time. It was used one winter, $1400 wasted. Purchased a Whirlpool WTW7800XW a year and a half ago. The left top of the washers glass pops up, making it impossible to use the washer unless I weigh it down. Apparently a screw has popped out to hold the glass in place. Whirlpool used to make a decent product, but thought I should pay them $129 for their time, just to come out and then an additional part fee. How about the 30 minutes I spent on the phone with no satisfaction. My time is also valuable. I gave them the choice to come out and replace the screw (which shouldnt have fallen out in the first place) or lose a customer. Fortunately, I have a husband that can repair it, but I am extremely disappointed that Whirlpool is now making substandard products. We are a family of 3, so its not like Im doing laundry daily. Am I wrong to think I can get at least 3 years out of a product?

I am so bummed that this fridge died. It was perfect in size and function and appearance. I didnt use the ice maker. Within the first year, the temps were erratic, freezing in the fridge area at the rec. setting and too warm when I lowered it. Finally the compressor gave in at 19 months. Of course, out of warranty. HOWEVER, my credit card, VISA, added a year of warranty and is paying the full amt for replacement. Now I have no idea what to get. Every brand, American or Japanese is not made to last. I regret getting rid of my old dependable avocado fridge, thats how hard it is to feel confident to make a good next purchase. Formerly reliable names are only that, OLD NAMES WITH SHINY LOOKS AND JUNK INSIDE.

Each time he was able to get the water heater going again, but it would only operate for about 3 months and then it would go out again. To date, I have incurred $245.00 in plumbers service fees. My last call to Whirlpool was on 5/14/2013. This water heater was purchased on 1/25/2010 at Lowes in Evans, GA. It went out over the weekend, but the plumber was able to relight it. You cannot do decent canning on the thing because you only have one burner. This is a mess from the get go. Why in the hell do companies think everything has to have a computer attached to it? We bought a gas hot water heater from Lowes on Dec. 31, 2010. In July 2011, there was no hot water. After much yelling and headaches, Whirlpool agreed to send out a technician to look at it, since I refuse to go in the attic and I will not work on gas appliances. After 7 days with no hot water, they replaced a valve that failed, they said, because our attic was too hot. The old unit never complained. Eight months later out, the unit went again (and we had an attic fan put in). This time, Whirlpool sent out a local plumber (and I paid for the call) though we had a warranty and extended plan with Lowes?! This time I was told no problem it was too windy and it blew out the pilot. Its funny we never noticed the attic being windy even during the hurricanes. Four to 5 months later, well, you guessed it but this time my husband just re-lit it. Then the next time, 5 months later, my brother-in-law did it. That was August to September 2012. See, this morning, there is no hot water. I had to fight with Lowes since we have the 5-year extended plan. I cannot get anyone to explain why it makes sense to them that a 2 1/2 year old hot water heater has to be re-lit every 4-6 months. Then I went online. Now I know why Lowes and Whirlpool are ignoring the issue. So, anyone know a good lawyer or what are they doing to get satisfaction?

Bought this fridge at Best Buy because it was beautiful and thought it would go perfect in my new home. We allowed the fridge to regulate for 72 hours (even though it only needs 24) and it didnt cool properly or make ice. 3 calls later to the 800 number (along with three scheduled repair visits) and Im getting the run-around. 1st excuse was that I needed to order parts. 2nd excuse was that it was a bad sensor due to the manufacturer. The 3rd excuse was that the fridge door wasnt aligned properly, thus not sealing properly and not allowing the fridge to regulate, which causes it to freeze over. My ice maker also hasnt worked once in this entire ordeal. The issue still isnt resolved and I am vowing to never spend thousands of dollars on this brand again. Spare yourself the headache and go with a less glitzy, more trusted brand.

I purchased a washer 6 months ago and it was starting by itself so I called to get a technician out and it took them 3 days to tell me that they did not service in our area. Long story short I was out of a washer for 2 weeks talking back & forth with Whirlpool which was absolutely a nightmare. Kept me on hold forever and hung up on me several times so they didnt have to deal with the situation. Absolutely no customer service at all. When it came down to it they were going to issue me a new washing machine and I had to go to the store to get it and when I got to the store they told me I had a $415.00 credit to spend. Thats less than what I had paid for the washing machine and then I am having to spend an extra $200.00 out of pocket to get another washing machine. My warning to you is not to purchase any Whirlpool appliances unless you want to go thru pure hell. These people do not care about anyone after the product is sold. Their customer service sucks, their appliances suck and Whirlpool just sucks all the way around!! We have been putting our clothes into laundry bags and lingerie bags for a couple of years now to wash safely. Additionally it leaks out the front door. Whirlpool Refrigerator model #GI6FARXXY0 - Bought this refrigerator at Las Vegas Store #3305 Home Depot, 12/07/2012. July 2014, the ice maker stops working. I replace it with another Whirlpool ice maker and that one stops and leaks water from the dispenser all over my floor. Im on my 3rd ice maker and its not working! I have no warranty but still...a refrigerator should last longer than this at these prices. Im trying to research problems with this refrigerator and it looks like now the refrigerator model has been discontinued! Cant find anything on it. I paid close to $1,800.00 and it lasted 1 year 1/2? Its turning into a money pit. My question is... after looking at all of the complaints concerning ice makers and water leaks on Whirlpool refrigerators... why hasnt Whirlpool addressed this problem with a recall?? Obviously, these ice makers are faulty even the ones you replace them with. The repairman told me there are no warranties and they would not take returns on them. Whirlpool knows there is a problem and doesnt address it. Consumers should be protected from businesses that know of problems and refuse to take care of them with customers. They are still selling faulty Whirlpool ice makers??? I paid extra to have a working ice maker and expected it to last more than a year and half for the price of this French Door, bottom freezer, refrigerator did. The doors look terrible as they do not clean nicely and leave streaks. From the looks of some of these complaints, this may only be a beginning of problems with this appliance. Totally disappointed in this product. I know I wont be looking at any more Whirlpool products. Im disgusted with their faulty products and no accountability. If theres a recall, count me in!

I bought Whirlpool Cabrio washer two months ago (Model number : WTW7300DW0). They indicate washer use less water and clean better, but that is not true. Some clothes on top of the load were not even getting wet and clothes smell bad after washing. Even worse is that clothes got holes in many places and some clothes were totally destroyed after washing. In just two months, I have to throw away many of my towels and clothes. I dont believe this kind of washer should be sold again. This should be a recall to give us a replacement ASAP and remove any products still in the market. There are many complaints online, I hope someone will stop this and do the right thing.

Whirlpool Accubake Gas stove/oven - Several times now, in the year and a half that Ive owned this appliance, Ive had issues with the knobs easily being turned on. The pilot never lights, and gas leaks horribly. One day I decided to take my daughter to the park and wed ran into the kitchen to grab a few drinks. A few hours later when we came home, I barely got the key in the door when I smelled gas. I left the door wide open and stepped inside the house and saw the not one, but two knobs had somehow been turned on. Im assuming that when my daughter and I grabbed our drinks, one or both of us must have barely bumped the knobs. We had to stand outside and leave the front door open for over an hour to air out the house!Ive found that I literally have to keep the knobs off the stove to prevent the gas from leaking in our home and someone passing out. NEVER in a million years would I have made such a huge purchase (and yes, its a huge purchase for a single mother!) on something thats used on a daily basis if I had known what a danger it could be. I almost forgot to add, that the stove top grill began rusting the first time I washed them off and the oven often does not light and we have to leave the drip pan unscrewed in order to light the pilot.

I purchased my Cabrio washer and dryer 2 1/2 years ago, and for the past 6 months, I have dealt with it being unbalanced and I tried everything to get it balanced. When I researched the problems, I found so many other consumers are having the same problems and that Whirlpool will do nothing about it. I decided to start a petition on Change website to try to force Whirlpool to stand behind their product and correct the problem, offer us a refund or another product, or even fix the darn thing. It is tough economic times, and we spent money to have something that was energy-efficient as well as a product that is supposed to carry a good name. I am a single mother with three children, and I dont have a $1000.00 to throw away after 2 years. This is shameful that we, the consumers, have to deal with this. Please go to the Change website and sign my petition. The more signatures I get, the more leverage we have to deal with Whirlpool. Lets pull together and show Whirlpool we will not stand for them robbing us of a quality product. Thank you so very much.

A couple years ago we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8000 top-load, high-capacity, washing machine based upon good claims of the salesman at Lowes - Appliance Dept. This was not an inexpensive machine. However, this washing machine failed to live up to representations and performance is poor. However, biggest complaint is that clothes are able to get stuck between drum and the unique agitating device which results in holes and tears in material. This is a significant design flaw and were not sure why more people dont complain about this rather significant design flaw. Of course, there are other shortcomings... but destruction of clothes is a serious problem. While this machine is in excellent condition, it will be replaced with a more traditional washing machine with vertical agitator ASAP.

We bought this microwave/hood combo at Home Depot and installed it in our second home roughly 16 months ago. We used it very little over that period because the home is only for vacations. The plastic handle began to disintegrate where it connects to the door (top and bottom) to the point where there is very little plastic remaining. We called the service center and the woman attending to us told us she had never heard of that happening before. Either she had just started working there that day, or she was lying because there are dozens of similar complaints on this very website.I do not understand what is to gain by denying a manufacturing defect. It simply makes no sense to me that a company would allow their reputation be so tarnished. What an ignorant and short-sighted business practice. I will never, ever buy another product from this company. I will also be sure to tell anyone who will listen what I think of the shabby service they gave us.

Our daughter has a Whirlpool Duet front loader washer & dryer combination which is less than 3 years old. The washer shows fault code 71 and will not run or release the door lock. The first repairman said the interface board and/or a computer will need to be replaced. Cost is $600 to $1,000. I called Whirlpool. They recommended their trained tech be called out. He looked at the broken machine and determined the interface board was bad, and he put a temporary repair on the washer and said Its okay to use for now. He will return in 2 weeks with the replacement part. We tried the machine with a load of clothes. The machine filled up with water then quit, and the door was locked. We called to get a tech to open the door so we could retrieve our clothes. No one is available for 1 1/2 week. I called Whirlpool and was told a claim form would be mailed to me so we could be compensated for the damaged clothes. The letter arrived. I was appalled when I read it. First, it came from their Legal dept. The intent was to scare us into getting a lawyer or just use our homeowners insurance for the damaged clothes claim. I called Whirlpool back several times and was told too bad, so sad. Whirlpool might make a good machine; they cant prove it by me but their support rates a big zero.

In less than 4 years the top lid broke at a poorly designed hinge point (+$200). Cabrio washer mercilessly tangles/twists clothes; HE does not totally rinse all detergent from clothing necessitating extra rinse (so much for efficiency); now at 4 year point bearing has gone and machine sounds like a freight train (+$250). Do not recommend this item if this what to look forward to. Called Whirlpool initially about tangling/twisting problem and just got lip service about arranging clothes. Duh, did that already.

I bought my new ceramic top electric range/oven with convection, and the aqua-lift cleaning system in spring 2017. The aqualift cleaning function is a joke, so be prepared to be down on your hands and knees scrubbing. Im careful, and Ive not spilled anything yet, but the oven still gets splatters from roasting meats, etc. Id hate to see what Ill have to deal with when I actually let something spill. Today, as I was down on my hands and knees trying to clean it, I noticed that the enamel is chipping off where the oven racks slide in. Great. I have never had an oven where the enamel came off, much less within a year. I am struggling with heart failure, and I am not up to fighting with Whirlpool.

I just replaced our Whirlpool Accubake Double Wall oven, model RBD305PDS14, because it fried the control panel after being put on self clean. This was the second time this has happened and I have probably only used the self clean feature three times since we purchased the oven. Im not a specialist in defective product design, but having a control panel burn up two out of three times when the self clean is used suggests a significant problem. I refused to pay to have it replaced again and obviously did not replace it with another Whirlpool product or any other brand associated with the company. I see that this problem has a long history dating back quite a few years with Whirlpool doing little or nothing to resolve the issue. (They just deny any knowledge about any defect in the design.) Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice shame on me!

I am writing due to the defects and flaws in my recently purchased appliances. I chose Whirlpool believing I was buying the highest quality for longevity purposes. Every appliance I own is Whirlpool or Maytag - same company. I purchased warranties and was told the warranties dont cover my issues and was basically brushed off. I am infuriated. Here is a list of complaints. Refrigerator is cracking on the inside on the inner door and at the bottom. These cracks surfaced within the first year of purchase. The warranty does not cover cracks in the inner body. The oven/range has an exhaust that bellows out of the top of the range in a way that the smoke curls up onto the panel and discolors it. I have never had an oven constructed with an exhaust pipe in the front that pours smoke onto the range itself and into your house. The dishwasher paint has rusted off on the door as have the screws on the inside of the door. The cover panel on the cleaning dispenser of the washer has popped off and cannot be popped back on, hence the guts of the dispenser are always visible and when I go to load the cleansers the front has to pulled out from inside the dispense. The refrigerator is also leaking from the bottom and the ice-maker no longer produces ice. This started off and on for the past 2 years. At first I thought the leak was from a near by window. No it is the refrigerator. All of these appliances were purchased in 2013, 14 and 15. New. I am 56. I have never had issues like this ever in my life growing up or as an adult. Appliances lasted forever. I am one person. How much damage could I do? None. These are flaws in chemical compounding of the paints and materials for cracks and rust. Whirlpool was called various times and was not interested in sending a rep to verify my claims. They said all of my warranties did not cover such issues only motors. Lots of many spent in vain. I will not purchase Whirlpool again as they seem disinterested in customer satisfaction.

I bought my house brand new with all new Whirlpool Gold Series appliances. About a year and a half from purchase date, I started having issues with my fridge, then my dryer, then my washer, then my fridge again and that lasted about 5 months, then my microwave and my dishwasher. My microwave stopped working in January. It’s now April and I still do not have a new one. It keeps getting lost or shipped to the wrong address or something. Every time I call, the representatives don’t know how to look it up. I wind up on hold for at least 30 minutes, and I get transferred to at least 3 different people. I hope my last appliance doesnt break because I’m over Whirlpool, and I will never buy another appliance from them again.

I work on Whirlpool refrigerators for a living every single day of my agonizing, miserable, lousy life. Ive never seen such a mass of dysfunctional, defective rejects as I have with the new Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerators. The ice maker never works because the water line always freezes in the door. The food in your refrigerator side will either spoil or freeze because the damper door will stick open or freeze shut. The water filter housing will start leaking before you change the filter for the first time because of the inferior quality of the plastic its made from. And of course my all time favorite the compressor will always go out under the first 5 years (Thats why Whirlpool changed the warranty from 5 years to 1 on the sealed system). Ive never been a big extended warranty believer. But, like old saying goes, They just dont make them like they use to. Definitely applies to Whirlpool refrigerators.

I always appreciated Whirlpool’s quality, but this brand new stove in my brand new home is a disappointment. The top, back (control panel) gets extremely hot when the oven is in use. The burners are not as easy to regulate, and the broiler (which is under the stove, a negative for me) didn’t come with a broiler pan. That was an additional cost. Purchased this oven on 9/12 from Sears, did not purchase an extended warranty and didnt think it was necessary. Im a 64 year old widow and only use the oven on holidays, to date Ive used the over 5 times. With Easter coming, I decided to clean the oven. Followed the instructions, the door locked and the oven died. Im totally disappointed, now it would cost over 100.00 to repair, money I cannot afford. Called Sears and all I was told over and over again that they can send a repaid person and I would have to pay. I was also told that I should have purchased a Kenmore and I wouldnt have had a problem and finally I was told that they couldnt fix it and referred me to whirlpool customer service, who also told me it would cost over 100.00. A 19 month oven should not have died. It should have cleaned the oven and continue to work for many more years. Again, Im upset, angry and disappointed with sears & whirlpool. And dont know what to do. Does anyone else have this problem with the oven, is there a recall?

I submitted a complaint several days ago about my 3-year old Whirlpool Duet washer not working and costing $550 to fix. I decided to just replace it so my husband unhooked it this morning. We were going to to try to sell it on Craigslist as is. I pulled out the laundry detergent compartment to clean it because I had filled it with detergent and fabric softener the other day. The smell that came from inside the washer where the detergent is dispensed was awful. I looked inside and it was completely filled with mold. I had periodically run the clean cycle with bleach but apparently this did nothing. I am writing this second review to warn people about this. I am going to just trash the washer now and I hope this has not affected our health in any way. For those of you who are thinking about purchasing this washer or one similar, I strongly urge you to stick with the plain old top loader. That is what I am going back to.

My oven was a lemon from day one. The light bulb would not light, the oven would not come on. Had the repairman in cause it was under warranty, he replaced the gas valve. A month later the same thing happened, the oven did not light. Have been putting up with this for a little over a year, it is finally off warranty. Same thing happens, you go to cook something and it will not light, then the oven door broke! We had to pay to have a new hinge installed. Whoever heard of a oven door breaking? I have had ovens 40 years old and they still work and the door doesnt break. Needless to say, my oven is still doing the same thing, lights sometimes and other times does not. Called Whirlpool several times, they are nasty and wont stand behind anything. Customer service says there is no lemon law for stoves. I installed this Whirlpool Gold Series oven in December just before Christmas. I cooked a 9lbs Turkey for over 4hrs at 350 degrees (it should have only taken 21/2 hrs at 325) used a thermometer to test the temp. Well the breast part was fine but later in the evening I removed the entire turkey only to find that the legs, thighs and bottom of the turkey was still RAW. Lucky no one had asked for that part of the turkey. Next I tried a small prime rib roast. Same thing happened. The top of the roast was fine and the bottom was RAW. I dont dare cook anything in the oven now. Called whirlpool and they are going to send someone to look at it but I wont hold my breath for any results. After reading the same complaint on several reviews and the TV show Marketplace it seems to be pretty standard for this product.

Ive spent more repairing this washer than what I paid for it new!!! Its really ridiculous that Whirlpool isnt more responsible for their equipment that doesnt stand up to their name! Ive replaced more things than I want to type but just to start the computer board, pump, bearings just to name a few. Each time I had my repairman out it was a minimum of $300 to repair. Ive had my repairman out 5 times to repair things. Thinking each time its cheaper to fix it than buy another which I surely didnt think I would be repairing it several time! At this point Im just sick to death that a washer that is for a home of myself and my daughter has broken down so much. I cant imagine what a family would go through. Even after all the repairs it still isnt right but Im done sinking money into this sinking ship of a washer! Its loud constantly stops due to un level so I have to move the clothes around usually having to repeat this several times before I can get the load to finish!!! Then they come out wrinkled more than they went in and I have to iron clothes. A person should NOT need to iron! May as well wash them in the river on a rock. It would be easier!!! SO DISAPPOINTED!!!

Whirlpool Cabrio Purchased 12-7-2012 - what a piece of junk. Does not get clothes clean, rarely does she even spin out properly. Called because it kept walking across the basement floor. Informed that was the owners responsibility, not the store (Feidens in Latham). Always had good luck with them, bought all my appliances from them. Now I heard a loud bang and she threw up - water everywhere. What a mess.Had purchased special patio block at Home Depot to even her out and every time I used it which was not too often, it acted like the space shuttle ready to head down the runway! Not too happy with Feidens attitude with regard to this purchase. Not going to call them to fix it. Not an ready to pay to listen to their guff again. Expensive machine never worked well since it got here. I always wished for a Whirlpool, be careful what you wish for! Junk, nothing but junk. Had the washer 3 years. After 1st year had to replace motherboard and lid locking mechanism. Beginning of year 3 the basket came loose, the machine wouldnt spin the water out of the clothes completely and then it quit cycling into the next cycle, ie, the tub filled up with water for the wash cycle but then would not begin agitating. The water sat in the tub until the wash cycle was done and then would drain but would not spin. Each cycle had to be manually started by pressing the pause button, raising the washer lid, and then pressing the pause button again. I called a repair person who ran a diagnostic on the machine and said it needed a new pump, new motherboard again and something else to make it spin properly. Sorry I dont remember what the something is. The estimate to repair was approximately $759 so I am now shopping for a new machine thats not a Whirlpool.

Front Load Washing Machine, Model WFW97HEDBD0 - This is the worst appliance we ever owned. Purchased in 2015, multiple problems since! 1. Soap dispenser did not dispense and leaked down the front of washer... 4 service calls, control panel finally replaced, clothes not clean, leaking continued. Had to place soap into washer drum. 2. Pedestal drawer made grating noise, track off, drawer replaced, opened better but still made irritating noise. 3. Grease oozing from side of washer both sides. Decided to look in back of washer and OMG! A copious amount of grease is also beneath & behind the washer & dryer. I had to scrape with a metal spatula device to pick up and it took over 1.5 hours to remove & clean. We are lucky a FIRE did not start when using either machine. This machine was a LEMON from the beginning. In fact when we were having it serviced, I stated I wanted it replaced but was informed 2 visits were counted as 1 and did not qualify for further investigation. We cannot rid ourselves of this machine fast enough after the last issue. New washer coming tomorrow, not a WHIRLPOOL! New machine is LG WITH 10 year warranty on motor.

Within the next year and a half it got so loud, you cant hear anything else in the house while it is running. Now it is leaking from the tub seals and the bearings are going out according to two service techs I have had come look at it. They say it is more expensive to fix than the washer is even worth. This is due to the parts that would be used to fix it are the same cheap Whirlpool parts that were put in it in the first place. They both said that these are not good washers and commonly go out about a year and half to three years old. We bought a new dishwasher at Lowes on October 15, 2015. It is now May 11, 2016. The manufacturers warranty was for a year. It has been about a year and half since it was installed. Not very long for an appliance that one would assume would last at least 5-10 years. When we called Whirlpool to see about a repair visit, we were told that the trip to the house would cost $105, and the parts could go as high as $250-$300. So if you weigh the original price to the repair price, having it repaired is not rational, but neither is throwing away a dishwasher thats almost new. Its still clean inside. No soap residue or anything in the tub. In the past, by the time we were in the market for a new dishwasher, our old dishwasher looked like it had been through the war. It just breaks my heart to know that a company is so slipshod at making appliances that they wear out in less than two years. There doesnt seem to be any recourse but to dump a perfectly good, relatively new dishwasher in the landfill. We are leaving a very big footprint by doing this.

I’ve had my Whirlpool Duet for 12 years and it has been a great one. I’m a mom of three sons, all of them wash their own laundry!! Lots of loads are done weekly and it cleans well! We leave the door opened after it’s unloaded so the tub will dry. Every few months, I put a tab in it so it will clean out all of the buildup. I don’t get the “front loader smell” that way.

My complaint is basically the same as all the others. Clothes do not come clean in my brand new Whirlpool washer. Ive had two other Whirlpools, and they were fine. This one, however, is a piece of junk. One of the main problems is that the washer is designed to use only lukewarm water, even on the hot setting, it does not use hot water. Another problem is too little water. Another irritating factor is the constant locking of the lid. Another problem is the constant starting and stopping of the agitator. This cannot be good for the motor. Im at the point of giving away my new washer which Ive had for exactly one week. This is a totally inferior product, and I feel that I have been really ripped off.

In March of 2013, I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator; model number WRF990
In March of 2013, I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator; model number WRF990SLAM00 from Lowes. About two weeks after my manufacturers warranty expired, I called Whirlpool because the refrigerator wasnt working anymore. It took several weeks and the need to call four different repair companies before we finally had one that was willing and able to come attempt to repair the refrigerator. They came out, changed a few parts and left. Several weeks later, the refrigerator quit again. This time, when I called whirlpool (about June 2014), I was able to convince them to give me an extended warranty. They told me that the warranty would expire in December, and that all the work and service would be covered up to that date. This was fortunate because that repair, parts alone, was near a thousand dollars. Of course, the repair company couldnt make these repairs in my kitchen, so they had to remove the refrigerator and take it to their shop for several days. By this point, we had lost two refrigerators full of food. In mid-November 2014, the refrigerator quit again. We lost another refrigerator full of food. We called Whirlpool and the repair company again, and the repair was scheduled. I have six children and we spent Thanksgiving without a refrigerator in our home. The repair shop kept the refrigerator for several days after they fixed it to make sure it wouldnt leak coolant, because by this time, they had figured out that there were several pin hole sized leaks in the coolant line. It didnt leak. They had it for about four weeks total before they brought it back to us. By the next morning after having the refrigerator plugged in for several hours in our kitchen, the temp was at 65 degrees in the refrigerator and 60 in the freezer. I called the repair company again and whirlpool. The repair company has come to the conclusion that there must be a leak in the coolant line in the walls of the refrigerator and it is deemed unrepairable. They called the whirlpool tech line and the tech people told them to come back to our house and read the pressures the next day. They came out, read the pressures, determined that coolant had leaked out and told the tech department it was not repairable. The tech department told them to go through the entire cooling system again. This is something they have done several times. Today, they brought the refrigerator back after going through the entire cooling system, yet again. Its still not working. As I type this, my refrigerator is at a balmy 55 degrees. The repair company and I have both, on numerous occasions requested a replacement refrigerator. This was a very high end purchase for us. The original cost of the refrigerator was around $3,000. I have lost around $1500 worth of food, which Ive also requested on numerous occasions for Whirlpool to reimburse and they refuse. Whirlpool refuses to replace the refrigerator. Today, I found out that, by mistake, they gave me a one year extended warranty instead of six months. They said that it does not expire until June 19, 2015. Even with this information, they told me that the best offer that they will give me is IF I am willing to EXCHANGE my lemon that is in my kitchen right now, they will SELL me a replacement refrigerator at a discount. They say that the terms of the extended warranty are different than terms of a manufacturers warranty. This is unacceptable. I am currently out several thousand dollars for an over sized filtered water dispenser in my kitchen. Throughout 2014, we spent somewhere between three and four months without a working refrigerator in our home. As of right now, I havent had a working refrigerator for about six weeks and through Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. I bought the refrigerator because I thought it would act like a refrigerator and not a paper weight. An Implied Warranty of Merchantability has no expiration date. It requires that the goods be fit for the ordinary purposes for which they are to be used. This refrigerator is not fit to be used.Id also like to mention that during the times that Ive spoken with Whirlpool on the phone, they have told me that they would replace the refrigerator if the repair company deemed it unrepairable. Typically when I call whirlpool, I am on hold for fifteen to thirty minutes before I get to a representative. Today, I was on hold for forty minutes before my call was disconnected. This has happened numerous times. Ive also had representatives disconnect the call several times when they were transferring me to another department, or putting me on hold. I estimate that I have spent at least forty hours on the phone with the customer service department for whirlpool in the last several months. And even, with all that, I have not had a dependable refrigerator for eight months. I need this resolved and I dont feel that it is fair for me to be financially punished because of the lemon that Ive already purchased from Whirlpool.

We bought the microwave in August 2018 and last week it burned a hole through the turn table which broke it and burned a hole in the floor of the microwave. Whirlpool said it was under warranty but refused to bring a new one. They ordered a new glass turntable and painted the spot that had the hole burned in it. What makes me believe it is safe now to use? What caused a microwave to go awry in the first place. It has to be a safety issue and Whirlpool will do nothing about it. Lousy customer experience.

The machine purchased in 2011, 3 years old, will cost as much to repair as to buy a new one. I got exactly no satisfaction from Whirlpool. They said there is no recall so they wouldnt assist. There are only 2 people in my house, so how could the washer be so junky. What would a large family do? I have spent $140 and wont spend another dime on a Whirlpool appliance.

I purchased Whirlpool Duet HT front-load washing machine with model #GHW940
I purchased Whirlpool Duet HT front-load washing machine with model #GHW9400PLO. After a year of owning the product, failure codes continued to appear. I have followed the direction under the troubleshooting page which said to cancel and unplug the unit. After doing this over and over, I finally took the top lid off to inspect the problem. A ribbon cable was torn due to the top lid rubbing against the lid and the drum. I called Whirlpool and this was not covered (go figure). I then asked for the ribbon cable and they said they cannot just supply the ribbon cable and that I would have to buy the user interface which is $191 plus a $35 core fee because they re-bill them. What a rip off. A ribbon cable from a computer store would only cost $10.00. After that repair the Micro Machine control went out which is code F11. Code F11 is all over the web because this is a defective part that Whirlpool should do a recall on but why do that when they can charge $310 plus, get this another $35 core charge because they re-bill them? If you are not mechanically inclined with these parts plus labor you could have bought 2 washing machines. But who in the world would buy 2 pieces of junk right?Bottom line is: do your research and buy from a company that will stand behind their product because Whirlpool will not! They know by the number of parts they ship out that that part should be recalled.

I purchased a brand new Whirlpool washing machine only 2 yrs ago. Rather than lasting upward of 10 yrs with normal use as advertised, the machine is nothing more than a giant wash tub. It doesnt Drain and Spin properly. The clothes are still wet at the end of the cycle and I have to either attempt to wring all items by hand or set the machine to Drain and Spin for a second time. Now, it no longer agitates the clothes during either the wash or the rinse. I am SO disappointed in this and very angry that I trusted this well known brand with my hard-earned money. I am also angry at myself for not reviewing internet posts as I am hearing the exact same experiences by others time and again.

I have called Whirlpool multiple times because our washing machine model #WFW9290FW has been out of service for 5 weeks now. I have been informed that I need part #W10604640, which is on back-order and they wont give me any idea of how long it is going to take to get this part replaced. Apparently, there are 96 total people who also need this part. I find it hard to believe that a company this big would not have this part on hand and they would not have any idea how long it would take to get it replaced. I asked them to give me a new washing machine for free to replace it because of the poor service and the unreliable washing machine. They told me they could give me another washing machine at 40% off, but based on the lack of follow-up and the amount of time that has passed since my initial call, I dont want another Whirlpool product. This is the worst customer service ever.

My review merely echoes the other 1-star reviews Ive read below, but Im including it anyway. We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio from Lowes in 2013. Two weeks ago, a mere five years after purchase and shortly after our warranty expired, it broke. It kept showing the UL code and took multiple cycles to wash the clothes. Unacceptable. We called the technician; he came out; told us it was the bearing that busted; and quoted us $800 to fix it (I noticed below another customer was quoted $400 for the same issue). We told the technician thanks but no thanks and purchased a $450 Samsung washer. Our family will never purchase any Whirlpool product again. From their customer service to the performance of their machines-- its all very much lacking.

We would pay labor. They gave us the model number, serial number, the diagnostic info. Long story short, customer service told me she didnt know why I was told to contact them. They can not predict the life of a machine. Less than 3 years for this machine. 22 years for my old Kenmore. We purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer set 2 years ago (7/22/15) from Lowes and have HATED them since day one. The first wash in the washing machine left clothes dirtier than when they went in. Our clothes have never gotten truly clean. The washer has a HUGE tub which is what I liked about it so I can wash my King sized comforters. What a joke that turned out to be. The comforters only get half wet even on the deep water setting. The machine even left dark stains on my light colored comforter and ruined it. Fast forward to 2 years later and the washing machine stops spinning and fills with water clear up to the top of the tub and wont drain. I had to put the machine on the rinse and spin option to get it to drain. Tried a different setting and it worked for a few months but started doing the same thing. The washer seems to be unbalanced no matter what size load I do. I am thoroughly disgusted with this machine and wish I would have never purchased from Whirlpool. The dryer has always worked fine until recently (2 years after purchase). It quit drying the clothes and leaves everything twisted up and wrinkled, even if I take them out of the washer and shake them out before I put them in the dryer. Doesnt matter what setting I put it on, the result is the same. So now it seems as though BOTH of my machines only lasted 2 years. Im not going to bother fixing them, these will be used as target practice. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again.

We have washed very small loads to large loads such as, bedding sets without any issues at all. We love the gorgeous look as well. I purchased a Whirlpool Gold top freezer refrigerator (G2IXEFMWQ03) in May 2011. Six months later, the freezer began to collect frost and eventually clogged the refrigerator port from freezer. Since cold air from the freezer was not going to fridge, I had to turn down the refrigerator temp to lowest setting. I had a service person come out and replace Adaptive Defrost Control under warranty - it would have cost me around $250. Now roughly 12 months after repair, the defrost issue is back. The part cost me $175, and that is if I install it myself. I called and mailed Whirlpool which was a waste of time. This is the last Whirlpool I plan to purchase. For the same issue to occur in this short time span, it has engineering flaw written all over it.

We purchased what we thought was a top of the line, high quality washer and dryer, Whirlpool WTW7800XWO approximately a year and a half ago. It has the glass top with a plastic frame, which has just cracked at the hinge location. I went online to read reviews and then called the Whirlpool Customer Service number, 1-800-253-1301 for assistance. I was thinking after reading the reviews that this should be a simple recall type discussion; however, I got completely the opposite! I asked if this was a common problem and the response I got was, Well, we have had people sit on them, stand on them and fall on them, so they have broken for all kinds of reasons! I was flabbergasted! Of course, I was then told it was out of warranty but he could sell me a new one for $219.38 plus tax plus shipping for a grand total of $261.17. It is clear that Whirlpool does not allow their employees access to the complaint line. This must be kept top secret because the only people that know are the thousands of people that have called in to complain, and once you listen to a complaint, you are fired so you cant hear another one and figure out this is a common problem the consumers are getting screwed on! Every appliance in my house is a Whirlpool and the first to go was the washer after 11 years, which is when we bought this new set. When we have to replace the rest, dishwasher, fridge, etc., it will definitely not be Whirlpool unless they do something about known problems and help the consumer out, especially in an economy like this because bare minimum word of mouth advertising is the worst kind to have! I will now see if someone from Whirlpool reaches out to me or not! In the meantime, I will go to Change.org and sign the petition, never again to purchase a Whirlpool product!
