My air conditioner was installed with a new furnace a few months ago by Comfort Home business. I thought nothing about the brand because they always does a good job. If they made me a choice I do not remember. It is very quiet and does a good job.

In 2011 we purchased a dual fuel heat/air. By 2014 it was leaking. Replaced the evaporator, at the cost of $700 not including the Freon we had added to the system. Then by 2016 it was down. Freon again. This time condenser leaking. $200 for the Freon, another $84 to find the leak, and now 1$278 to replace the coil. We asked carrier to replace the whole heat pump as we must have a "lemon" and they sent info to product review, we thought they were considering helping with at least the labor costs if not a whole new unit. I called back after over 2 weeks of not hearing, and they said they would only replace the coil, because our unit is over 10 yrs old! HUH? It's been less than 5 yrs, and they said we didn't maintain it in over 10 yrs! HUH, hello carrier? 2016 from 2011 purchase date is 5 yrs. Yes, the unit is maintained but not by your service contract. No wonder All Temp Co. Heating and Air Conditioning of Harrisburg, NC sells these. They get a lot of work out of these inferior products, over and over again. Run as fast as you can and buy a Trane. Wish we had. Maybe carrier might move back from Mexico. I guess it doesn't matter where it's made if they won't stand behind their product. I think after 2 major leaks we deserved more than their attitude and bad record-keeping.

Purchased Trane HVAC system in September 2014. I live in Southern CA on the coast where air conditioning and heating is rarely needed except for unseasonal cold and hot days. Went to turn the AC on in July 2018 and it did not work. Ultimately determined that there was no refrigerant/coolant in the unit. Was also told that there have been ongoing issues with the Trane unit/components breaking. In my case it may be the coil component. At a cost of $550 the unit was refilled with refrigerant and a sealer with the hope that the sealer fixes any potential leaks. We will see. I would not expect a central air conditioning unit that is rarely used to break down after 3 seasons of use.Updated on 09/29/2018: Two month update - the AC unit is not working again. The house is not cooling down. Grrr. I will update again after service/repair technician comes.

The Amana unit came with a ten year warranty and the condensing coil started leaking after 5 years. It was replaced at no cost to me as far as parts and labor.. It is now 7 years old with no other problems and we have been very pleased.

I am following up on a review I submitted on April 22, 2015 about a Whirlpool refrigerator with french doors and bottom refrigerator. At the time, paint was falling off from the door as pictured in the previous review. This another chapter on this story and probably the closing chapter. A few months after the paint event which I could have lived for a while, the right door hinge literally disintegrated leaving the door without support. The door seal's material is of such poor quality that they have disintegrated and the water condenses inside. The bottom photo shows hinge components that came off the door hinge on the kitchen floor. The second photo from the bottom up photo shows how the door scraped the plastic of the freezer door top trim if the door is not lifted to clear it. The second photo from top to bottom shows the door over the hinge pin if I am not careful lifting the door to clear the freezer door. The first photo from top to bottom shows how the door remains open if not lifted so that the door magnetic seal keeps it in place. It is very hard for me to believe that a country like the United States of America treats its customers with no respect. I met my obligation to pay the amount on the price tag of this appliance but I cannot say that Whirlpool did its part of providing a basic quality product. There is no consumer protection agency in this country to protect consumers from corporate predators that have no sense of a fair deal with a customer. So here we are, being abused by United Corporations of America. I hope the future brings a different understanding of the american people on these matters. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself on this matter. Next step... buy a foreign made appliance that will support another country work force... sounds familiar.

Wow, horrible company. Bought a unit with a 10-year compressor warranty. Compressor developed a leak. They did nothing to repair/replace unit. Swore I would never buy another carrier. Bought a new house. Builder uses carrier. Less than a year the unit is rusting and corroding on the condensing housing and aluminum coil. Guess what carrier said, "we will do nothing". Need I say more?

I purchased a 3 ton 15 seer air conditioner from Climate Control in Liberty, MO. The first time it broke down at about one year after installation, Climate Control would not fix it without my signing a long term maintenance agreement, and they were rude and nasty upon my visit. The second time it broke down at 30 months old, I called Trane directly and had horrible customer service. The CSR kept trying to get me to call one of her preselected service providers and sign up for a long term maintenance agreement. The warranty DOES NOT require a maintenance agreement, and all they want to do is sell you more stuff. The A/C unit is a bad unit. Trane needed to simply stand behind their product. $4,800 was my cost.

In July of 2012 I purchased a Goodman System for my Condominium in Ossining New York. I was a little skeptical because I had never heard of Goodman but was assured it was made by Amana and was a good, reliable brand and somewhat less expensive than the "name" brands. I was told by the company that installed it that it had a good warranty... 10 years in fact so not to worry. I had routine maintenance done on schedule and in April of 2018 began having trouble with the A.C. Serviceman repaired and recommended a new thermostat system which I had done. Three months later the system failed again. Noticed some "ice" buildup on copper pipes around unit and some water on the floor. Serviceman replaced filter and cleaned outside condenser. One month later FAILED again and now told by repair service the condenser coil is no good. He said, "Don't worry. It's covered under warranty..." Until three hours later when Goodman told him the unit was not registered and they would not honor the warranty. Now I have the bill of sale with all documents and serial numbers yet they are telling me that I had to send in the postcard to have it registered. It's a damn 7000 unit... Like a car. I said... "You don't send in postcards for cars do you?" I went round and round with Goodman NON CUSTOMER SERVICE and decided to try to reach a supervisor. THEY KEPT TELLING ME THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE. Well I called the corporate office and asked to be connected to the CEO a Mr. Ebisu's secretary. Lo and behold I was connected to a woman named K.D. ** (Write that down folks. K.D. ** is the secretary to the CEO.) I started to explain my issue and she was trying to put me back in touch with customer service... But I convinced her to listen to the whole story (the same complaints that many of you have mentioned in these reviews) after a good 10 minutes she assured me that the head of Consumer Complaints a Mr. Preston ** would be working on my case and that she was sure he would help in the matter. She even went so far as to tell me that she was instructing him to get back to me within 2 hours with a resolution. Well... he called back and was ABSOLUTELY NO HELP AT ALL. In fact he said to me... "You were never supposed to get put through to Ms. ** office." I was and I intend to make sure that both of their names are out in public so that people will know who they are and how little they care about customer service.Tomorrow, I am having a new unit installed at a discount price from TRANE which is a REAL COMPANY that backs its products. My service company was so mad at Goodman that they are eating the labor cost to install the new system. They discounted the price by 2600 DOLLARS and a 4500 price tag is now down to under 1700 which is less than the part that Goodman wanted to send me. STAY AWAY FROM GOODMAN... Tell your friends to stay away from Goodman and if anyone has a class action suit going count me in. Please call Ms. ** and Mr. ** and give them.

Very disappointed with Rheem ( 2-ton 15 Seer HVAC). After a 1 1/2, Unit leaked freon and wasn't covered by a warranty. Could not contact a customer service representative to help. This is me first Rheem, and it will be my last.
