Purchased 2 years ago from Lowes with the matching dryer. This machine (Model #WTW8540BW0) has more problems than the Bosch front load that I replaced. All of my white clothing gets small rust colored lines on it. I am sure this is because the top of the bleach dispenser is lined with rust. I have never owned a washer that rusts (screws are also rusty). I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product.

Bought a new Whirlpool side by side refrigerator. What a piece of crap!! I am using my time to write this review as the repairman fixes the latest problem. I dont have much hope because he asked for my assistance and is sighing and grunting over there. I had the traditional puddle of water to start. Tray underneath was cracked. Was actually fixed. Water and ice taste like crap. They said its my city water... ok whatever. No good ice and water - we will survive. The food in fridge was freezing on the low. Guy just announced he broke the new thermostat... Yes, the thermostat broke after a year. Will get it fixed, hopefully enough to hold up until I can find another new refrigerator to buy. Never a Whirlpool or any of their other companies. Time to do more homework. So glad for these forums. Ugh!!

We thought we were going to love it. It has two bottom freezers so the capacity is fabulous, but the ice maker location subtracts shelf space. Love the French doors, but we can never find anything quickly. The biggest issue is the popping noises it makes that are sleep stealing in the night.

I called customer service line regarding my Cabrio Automatic Washer (Model No: WTW6600SW2; Serial No: CU2171019) purchased on 11/24/07, to report and ask for assistance with a chronic ongoing service problem. Several calls in the past and service visits (at my cost) did not rectify the problem. Although there are many similar complaints on this machine regarding the loud noise and resulting problems during the spin cycle that involve the tub and rods, the representative said So sorry or Too bad we cannot not help you.My machine now does not run and is less than 4 years old --just like every other report. I get an error message F which the representative alluded to something involving the electronics. Machines purchased in 2004 from Whirlpool have across-the-board similar problems that Whirlpool refuses to take ownership for. This machine is their top of the line model. I dont feel the financial burden of repair or purchase of a new machine should be on the shoulders of the consumer. We bought in good faith from Whirlpool and expect Whirlpool to live up to their responsibilities. Thank you for any help you can provide.Rae **

Whirlpool Washing Machine Model WTW4950XW2: I am 74-1/2 years old and I have been doing laundry for more than 50 years. We have always purchased washers of a brand made by Whirlpool. Until now Ive had nothing but the highest of praise. Two months ago, our washer stopped working and we had to shop for another. After looking at all types and brands of washers, we found out that the only type without an agitator was available. With that choice, we ended up buying the model stated above. I literally hate the way these washers pretend to wash clothes! I apply the detergent properly, place the clothes perfectly around the outer part of the tub, etc., and because there is not enough water that goes into the tub for the clothes to wash even one pair of socks, let alone a full load of clothes, I use the 2nd rinse trying to help matters although it doesnt. I dont care about the amount of the water I use to have clean clothes! The clothes sit in there just rubbing against one another, and then when they are finished, the clothes are so tangled you can hardly get them out of washer and into the dryer! Perhaps the designers of all these current washers think they are saving water, but I can tell you that sometimes I will wash mine twice as I know that I do not feel they are clean! (And I am a clean person and the clothes are not real dirty!) I am so unhappy with the decision of purchasing this horrible excuse for a washer that I could shoot myself. I will discourage every person I know from buying one. I will tell them to have their old washer repaired as many times as possible so they will have clean clothes! It isnt just Whirlpool, but all the manufacturers who have chosen to make this horrible decision for us, housewives, and anyone else who does the laundry where they live. I used to enjoy doing my laundry, but now it is a nightmare. I will tell my friends who are the same age as I am that if they can still find a machine with an agitator to buy 1 or two of them so they wont have to deal with this type of problem for the rest of their lives. I realize that now I have to eat this washer since I have purchased it, but I can tell you one thing; if I could sell it for near the price I paid for it, I would do it in a heartbeat! Realizing whoever reads this; it wont matter one bit and probably will never reach the hands of the ones who couldn’t care less or do something about it, but at least I have made an attempt to help others in the future.

Washing Machine Model WTW4616FW - I purchased this machine at Home Depot after I had to return my Samsung Costco machine that was recalled due to the glass top flying off. I was attracted to it by its simplicity in design and price. I have had it almost a full year and love it. I like that it has the deep water wash for over-sized items and a full-sized agitator. I was shocked that it was actually Made in America. I highly recommend it and I hope they keep making this reliable machine that gets the clothes clean. Awesome machine without the bells and whistles that I dont expect to breakdown. Way to go Whirlpool!

Purchased the Gold Series Dishwasher Model No: WDF730PAYM0 Serial No: F1440
Purchased the Gold Series Dishwasher Model No: WDF730PAYM0 Serial No: F14403489 on Dec 2011, started using it from Jan 2012. All is good until June 2014. It started leaking from the bottom, called Whirlpool - the great bad company. Since it is not under warranty they asked to schedule an appointment with their local authorized rip off service company. Technician come on the service day and told me that it is $120.00 for the service call and Labor and parts are extra, first of all $120.00 to come to my house is first rip off, that is the reason Whirlpool on their website do not give any estimates on the service call. After checking the appliance he said main assembly is bad and needs to replace and that will cost more than the original purchase price - what a ripoff. He asked me to contact Whirlpool, they may help since this is the known issue with this model. Called Whirlpool and mentioned and they said it is too old to continue to operate so they cannot help. Ended up trashing the 2.5 year old dishwasher for the new GE dishwasher. Never buy a Whirlpool ever again even on sale. Whirlpool company is not ethical and not ready to help consumer, would love to see them close their operation in America.

The Cabrio top load washing machine is a piece of junk, an expensive piece of junk. The only way someone could give this machine a good review is if they work for Whirlpool or they think beating clothes up against a rock in the filthy Ganges River makes them clean. We purchased the HE top loader because we were told that all the problems of the front loaders had been worked out in the new top loaders. What a joke. At least the front loader I had, cleaned the clothes. Since we got the glass top model, I made a movie that shows several items of clothes just sitting on top, not getting wet, not getting moved around, not getting rinsed; therefore, not getting clean. After the wash cycle spins down, the clothes are pinned up against the side and the rinse barely touches them before its final spin. We have several items that had stains left from the soap - yes, we used HE soap, Im not stupid. Never again will I waste my money on a Whirlpool product or anything from Best Buy.

We purchased our washing machine on October 12, 2011 from Lowes. Our washing machine broke on 04/19/12. We have been dealing with Whirlpool and Advanced since 04/23/12, trying to have our machine repaired. Whirlpool sent A&E out on 05/09/12. A repair person from Advanced has been to our home 3 times, and A&E has been to our home twice already. Advanced came to our house on 04/23/12, 05/07/12 and 05/09/12. A&E came to our house on 05/09/12, and again today, 05/11/12.Finally the repair person from A&E said he needed to order parts which are supposed to be shipped to our house. At this point in time we have very little faith that Whirlpool or A&E will do the right thing and repair our machine. We do not understand how a company like Whirlpool keeps getting away with horrible customer service. Whirlpool is the only company we have found where you cannot get in touch with someone who can resolve your problem. Whirlpool told me today that since a repair person is already trying to resolve our problem, we have no choice but to wait until they repair it.

We recently purchased a Whirlpool fridge, model WRT138FFDW and are very disappointed with a couple things. First of all, the refrigerator arrived with a broken shelf. Although it was no problem getting a replacement, we found out quickly that it is very hard to balance things on a wire shelf. Water bottles and the like fall over. It is completely our fault for not noticing when we purchased, but just giving you a heads up that it will be a pain for you. Secondly, the sound of the fridge is very loud. It truly is driving my wife crazy. When we called Whirlpool, we were told that if they come out to take a look and the part is not under warranty, we would be charged $129. It is a brand new refrigerator, how can some parts not be covered??!! On a positive note, it does keep things cold and the color white is nice. I will not be purchasing any more Whirlpool items for my home. Bad fridge and customer care!!

In June of 2010, I purchased a new Whirlpool Estate EED4400WQ0 dryer (serial number M01156261) with an accompanying washing machine. It has been in a clean, climate-controlled environment and gently used by my family of four for just short of two years. Last week, I began to notice that the clothes coming out of the dryer were cool and damp and it quickly became apparent that the dryer was only heating intermittently. This morning, the service person from the dealer who sold me the washer and dryer set (and a Whirlpool dishwasher a few months later) told me that contacts on the timer unit were bad and that the entire switch would have to be replaced. This is no small portion of the machine and the part alone will cost me about $150. After labor, we are looking at an expense of approximately half of the original cost of the machine - in less than two years. I called the Whirlpool’s customer service line to ask if there was anything that could be done and the answer was: Sorry, we cant do anything for you.” It is not acceptable to me for an appliance to become that expensive that fast. If Whirlpool cant do anything for me about this, then I will not be purchasing anymore Whirlpool products.

We bought a new Whirlpool gold gas stove. We had just finished redoing our complete kitchen, and thought it would be nice to replace appliances. I thought Whirlpool had a reputable name and good service record, but clearly, I should have checked. Three months after installing the stove, the handle pulled right off the door. We called the service tech who came in, took the door apart, and replaced the handle, but for some reason, installed different and incorrect screws for the door. Over the next 7 or 8 months, the handle pulled off twice more, and we repeated the cycle. At this point in time, we had been experiencing a situation where the stove would shut itself off. Bear in mind, it is less than 18 months old. Even now, the oven heats, and mid way through cooking anything, it decides to shut itself off. Clearly, there are issues with Whirlpool products, and when I called them, they want to do nothing about it. They jockey me around, from one service person to the next, frustrating me as I have to retell the issues to each new individual, and then they only tell me a replaced board, which would cost more than $600, is the way to go. Ive had this stove for 2 years, and it is seriously the biggest piece of garbage anyone ever put out on the market. Apparently there are no recalls on it, and so apparently, Whirlpool is more interested in ripping off their customers, than standing behind their product. I am currently seeking permission in a local paper to write a public service piece. I hope people will read it, and avoid this company at all costs. I hope whirlpool enjoys it. I dont know how they have turned a blind eye to all these complaints. As far as what I have read, with regards to other whirlpool problems, exploding glass, dangerous fumes, etc. They should be investigated, because what they are pulling off is criminal. If I want someone to steal from me, Ill leave my doors open, and let them come take me for what I have. I dont need to support a company that is stealing from me, while they wear smile on their face.

My double ovens were locked and I could not open them. A repair man came, undid the latch, but did not have the replacement part. He ordered it and came back two weeks later to replace the latch. I paid the required $159.00 for the service call. In the meantime, I could use the bottom oven without any problem. He replaced the latch and discovered it was defective. In removing it, he damaged the ribbon in the control panel. He came back and put in a new latch, but now neither of the ovens would work because the control panel was inoperative. An attempt was made to order the control panel, but the control panel is no longer made. Instead, an attempt was made to repair the control panel. This took 4 weeks, and meant that I did not have an oven for Thanksgiving and had to totally rearrange my plans. Now I am told that the panel is not fixable and the best they can do is offer me a prorate on a new oven in which I would be charged $1374.00. I find this outrageous. Except for the latch, an easily repaired mechanical problem, the ovens were in excellent working order. Now I am being told that due to the problem caused by their repair person, I must pay $1374.00. I own a Whirlpool Cabrio washer, model #WTW7800XWO. The lid to the washer has completely detached for lack of a better word. It literally blew-off during the spin cycle and is hanging on by one hinge. My husband is disabled and I have had to go without using the washer for several days, waiting on a repair person not to mention the expense that will be incurred. This was a very potentially dangerous situation. My washer is barely older than one year. To add insult to injury, when I contacted the customer service department, I was told I would have to purchase and replace the lid or pay $299.00 for warranty insurance to have it covered because this is not considered a Quality Control issue. The service person has told me that both hinges and the lid will have to be ordered and replaced, leaving me without a washer for several more days. No one has been able to tell me why this happened. I fear this happening again after repair and do not feel safe with this washer. I would appreciate a response as soon as possible.

We took a pass on that. Further trial and error along with research helped us come to the realization that the arcing was caused by the high mineral content of the green beans. Whirlpool did not tell us this, but we found the information provided by others. We no longer cook the particular brand of green beans which seem to cause this event. The microwave is no longer arcing. You would think Whirlpool might be aware of this.

I knew I couldnt be the only one with these problems. The reviews confirmed it. I bought my Cabrio washer in 2012. Energy efficient, no agitator to catch on clothes, Great. It took me a while to figure out that the machine was eating my clothes and not cleaning them at all. Oh, they smelled fresh. That HE detergent smells nasty. The machine ate the edges off my good towels, T-shirts, jeans. Brand new underwear (thick elastic) was stretched all the way out and pulled. Normal stains and dirt do not come out even with pretreating. I started running my clothes on the delicate cycle, prewashing stains in a bucket by hand and then putting clothes in mesh bag before running the load. They still came out dirty and ruined. When I run the loads, it still registers as not being that energy efficient on the controls. Id gladly trade it back for my old washer. I feel like I have stepped back in time to a time where you washed everything in a tub or bucket. What a waste of time.

I have had my stove for 3 years and it works fine. However since I have become a grandparent, I have been extremely worried about the chance of being burnt. the problem is once you turn off the burner, it doesnt look any different than it does when not in use. It stays hot for a very long time however. Hot enough to burn or melt anything. There is no blocking a child from reaching up and touching it. I have placed a loaf of bread near it only to have it melt down the side. The burner didnt look hot at all. This was at least 15 min. after turning off the burner. Im not trying to cause issues but I believe this is a real danger, not only at the risk of someone getting a burn but also to the point of an entire family losing their home or even their lives. A simple flammable item being knocked over could start a fire. I ask that someone look into these risk.

Whirlpool washing machine #WTW58ESVW1 - I bought this thinking Whirlpool was a good brand name. I was totally wrong. My machine is two years old and the auto sensor switch has quit working 6 times. One time it only did 6 loads of laundry. Another it only worked for 6 weeks. That time I replaced the switch myself to save money on a repairman. Ironically the switch is still under warranty but they will not replace it unless a serviceman comes to confirm that the switch is dead again. This is because 2 have already been returned to them. Obviously, there is a problem with the switch. The company will do nothing. They used the excuse that I did not purchase an extended warranty. This is merely an excuse. Do not purchase any Whirlpool products. You will be wasting your money and time having to end up going to go out to do laundry.

We bought this washing machine from Lowes 5/15 and from the beginning have noticed that clothes especially dark fabrics come out of the washer with white fuzz or sediment on them. They need to be washed again and the fuzz isnt removed with a lint brush. I called whirlpool and they told me to use fabric softener. I dont like adding chemicals to my wash due to a skin condition. Lowes say they have never heard this complaint but clearly others have experienced this problem from the above reviews. Dont buy this washer. It doesnt clean your clothes. The only thing the customer representatives from Whirlpool wanted was to sell me an extended warranty. Why would I want that when the washer doesnt even clean clothes?

We bought a Cabrio washing machine two years ago. I have had to have a repairman out twice for it shooting water out of the top (from a top-loading machine). They repaired that and its better. But this goes off balance ALL the time. I cant even wash a load of towels without it going off balance. We bought this one as it was supposed to handle large blankets and even my lightweight king size comforters. Yeah. Did once or twice, then started the off-balance stuff. It grows MOLD in the bleach, softener, and detergent dispensers.I wrote to the company and included pictures. They were really rude about it. I finally found how to remove the dispensers to clean them, but it is very difficult. I HATE this machine and will never buy a Whirlpool again. (Our refrigerator, which was in our house when we bought it, is also a Whirlpool. It is poorly designed and collect dust in the coils UNDER the thing and you cannot reach them to clean it. Coils are behind other pieces that block being able to clean them.) Whirlpool is a horrible company and doesnt stand behind their products, in my experience.

I bought a Whirlpool gas hot water heater in 2005. In the first 12 months I replaced either 4 or 5 thermocouples and a total of between 15 and 20 from the time I bought it in 2006 and 2012. Only 1 time did the company replace one of them. When I would call them the rep would say things like, There may not be enough ventilation or Was it installed by a licensed technician? The 1 time they did take care of a problem the technician they sent out said NOTHING was wrong with the ventilation or the way it was installed. Oh yea, Customer Service told me that they did me a FAVOR (exact word) when they did that.In 2012 the hot water heater went out for good. The company would NOT do anything about it. I took it back to Lowes where I got it and they replaced it for me since the manufacturer wouldnt. The new hot water heater went out after only 3 years. I turned the hot water on and it was not getting hot so I checked the hot water heater to see what was going in. I found the pilot was burning, but the burner was not burning. I turned the water heater off and and checked everything out. When I tried to relight the water heater, guess what? It will not light. I am now being told that this heater has NO warranty, this 3 year old heater. There is MORE but I wont go into that now. Just know this has been the WORST product and the WORST company I have ever had any dealings with, PERIOD!!!

I purchased Whirlpool top loading washing machine model # WTW57ESVW less than 2 years ago. It stopped working yesterday. I had a trusted professional repairman evaluate it today. The motor needs to be replaced after less than 2 years?! The customer service reps basically said sorry. I should have purchased the extended warranty. Is it not reasonable to trust that a Whirlpool washing machine motor should last more than 2 years.I am very unhappy and very angry that Whirlpool will not stand behind their product. The last customer service rep I spoke to suggested she could send one of their repairmen and replace the motor at a cost to me of $299.00. So, after less than 2 years, I am offered an amount to pay of about half the cost I paid less than 2 years ago for the brand new washing machine. My home is full of Whirlpool appliances. I have been a good and loyal customer for over 30 years. I am very angry and upset with Whirlpool. Please explain to me why it is not reasonable for me to trust and believe that a Whirlpool top loading machine that is well cared for and not abused in any fashion should last longer than 2 years? Is this being a loyal Whirlpool customer gets you, I should have purchased the extended warranty”? We are talking about a motor here, not a fabric or bleach dispenser that breaks. Although, those parts should not break either, there is a big difference from something like that and a motor. Please contact me as soon as possible at either number listed above. Thank you.

We purchased our unit (Microwave Hood Combination #WMH53520AH-1) in Fall of 2013 and within a year we noticed there were occasionally problems with the sensors; occasionally when you would open the door the lights would flicker and even rarer still, they wouldnt turn on at all. Id close and re-open the door several times to try to get it to register, because if it doesnt you are unable to heat anything in it. The sensor issue increased with the passage of time, but because it was outside of the 1 year warranty, Whirlpool refused to do anything about it, instead advising that I pay $70-140 for a service professional to come out and inspect it. The biggest problem with the sensor issue in this unit is that normally, if you open the door mid-heating cycle, the microwave will automatically turn off but once I opened the door AND IT CONTINUED TO EMIT MICROWAVES - the cycle stayed on!!!Needless to say, on the occasion that the microwave is actually working and we are heating something up in it, we NEVER open the door mid cycle and instead hit the cancel button, which blessedly works. You would think Whirlpool would care about their reputation for making high-quality electrical products. A flaw in the construction or design of a product can appear if quality of materials is poor and the problem can be exacerbated over time. Which is why I assume the warranty is only for one year. High Quality Products and Good Customer Service are such rare things these days. For our next microwave (which I imagine well need soon) I think well forego Whirlpool and go with a different company.

On December 24, I was planning my annual Christmas Eve dinner when my oven just decided to quit working completely. This was the third time my oven broke down on me. I called Whirlpool and they pretty much told me theyll get to me when they can but it was the holiday. So I understood that it would be a few days. I had a technician come out to my house on December 27 and tell me that he needed to order a fuse. He called all over the state to find one but no one had one so he put it as an emergency. The technician did everything he could to accommodate me but could only do so much. So I waited and waited but heard nothing.Today, January 3, I called the department to see when my part was going to be here and they tell me January 10 - unacceptable. I called the management team and spoke with Tiffany who pretty much just told me, Sorry. You have to wait five business days to find out if the part is available. If not, then we can discuss sending new ovens. Why would we have to wait five business days from January 3 when it was ordered on December 27? Look, Im a very reasonable woman and this is the first time I have ever complained online about a company. But I have gone 10 days without an oven and I have a family that I cook for daily. My ovens are four months old so this should not be happening. And when it does, there should be parts to fix it or a replacement on hand because no family should have to go without an oven when they just paid a ** load of money for it. Customer Service should be a little more sympathetic and a little less about business because at the end of the day, theyre not the ones suffering, we are. Also if this part is on back order, that tells me that this probably happens often. Maybe Whirlpool should recall this oven model because whoever heard of an oven overheating? Get it together. I will spread the word of mouth about my experience!

In less than a year my gas range required a new knob because it froze in place. They covered that but not the 4 new knobs since. I must clarify, its not actually the knobs but the thing underneath that my husband has had to replace ever since to our expense and time. Also in less than a year the paint under the knobs totally fell off. We contacted them about that and the reply was paint wasnt covered under warranty. Obviously they used heat resistant paint on the range top because that is perfect condition even with the constant cleaning, but the angled front where the knobs are I had to sand and repaint, not a good look for the stove. They really couldnt have just used the heat resistant paint for 2 1/2 farther? Just horrible quality and worse service. Our just over 1 year old Whirlpool washer died completely last month (mid May). After calling them and being directed to the extended warranty dept (which we ended up purchasing), a repair guy came out and told us it was our main controller board. Three days later, he returned with the board and nothing. We were then told it was the user interface. They were on backorder until June 5, which means our machine would be out of commission for three weeks. I just received another call informing us the part was now on backorder until June 15. We just remodeled our kitchen and bought a Whirlpool kitchen suite in May of 2016. The refrigerator is absolutely terrible. I have had a repairman come out and fix the same repair/problem 5 times, a sheet of ice forms beneath the vegetable drawer (We have only owned the refrigerator for 5 months). Each time the repair person has come out it costs me a day of work due to having to wait all day for the repair service that Whirlpool hires out, well be there between 9am and 4pm. This morning I decided to check to see if the sheet of ice is forming again, it is. So I call Whirlpool again.Again, I call Whirlpool and ask if I can just get a new unit; 5 repairs in 5 months on a brand new refrigerator. The reply I get from Whirlpool is always well send someone out to fix it. The unit has to be deemed irreparable or a part has to be replaced multiple times. No parts are being replaced... no one knows how to fix it. I dont understand why a large company like Whirlpool would want people to write bad reviews for their products and customer service. Im extremely irritated with how I have been treated. I just want a refrigerator that works!! DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR!!

When I contacted customer service, I was told (after waiting on hold for about 1 hour) that it was customer misuse. Ahem, first I heard that, and I think I know how to use a washing machine. I told her to please conference me in on the call because I want to hear the outcome (and I dont want to wait another 1+ hour to reach customer service again). I need to start by saying I or we, my wife and I are both disabled - her with a head injury and a prosthetic leg and walks with a cane and myself well Im stuck in a wheelchair, this makes grocery shopping more of a chore for us than most people and putting things away is part two for this chore. I figured Id buy the biggest, best (LOL) refrigerator Whirlpool had to offer, so I could do our grocery shopping once a month and have a place for everything and the fridge being so big would be capable of holding a months worth of food. It performs that function very well! The problem began when I purchased this wonderful piece of quality craftsmanship (cough) at Lowes in Denton Texas on 6/19/13. While one delivery guy stood on my sidewalk talking to me, we watched the one other guy bringing my rather large brand new Whirlpool refrigerator up the driveway with a regular (not an appliance) dolly. After getting to the end of the driveway and having to go through the front yard to get to the sidewalk, the monster fridge started leaning and eventually ended up on its side in the front yard, needless to say I was a little concerned about damage. They continued to get it in the house after providing me a nice gouge in the door frame before realizing it may be best to take the front door off before entry. So after getting it to the kitchen and removing the box we noticed the left door was way out of whack, so the delivery guy called his boss and we all agreed I needed a new refrigerator. A week later my second new refrigerator was delivered, no box around this one but it made it all the way into the kitchen without a hitch or any more scraps in the front door frame.Three months of dealing with water running down from the ice maker into the door storage areas I made my first service call, the guy said Whirlpool doesnt always put the correct thickness of gasket between the ice machine door and the ice bucket. He ordered gaskets and installed them the next week. Water continued to run down the door from the ice bucket to the shelf storage. 5/14/14 I called for another problem. The refrigerator seems to be running all the time, and there was a fan starting and stopping continuously as well. This was Miles Appliance - he seen the water running down the door and squirted a tube of sealer in the ice machine, replaced the little plastic fan and said that should fix it! I let the Whirlpool service scheduler talk me into the extended warranty since my one year warranty was about to expire so I bit and bought the warranty. 7/18/14 the fridge had a new sound going on for the last few days and still seems to be running all the time. I called for another warrant service, this time I drew In Home Appliance Repair. After waiting three days a guy comes out, verifies the fridge isnt cooling properly and tells me to unplug it for three days, so the ice ball that has formed somewhere can melt, that the noise I was hearing was a fan rubbing against the ice ball. So three more days go by and I plug in the fridge. Two days later the freezer has only cooled to 50 degrees. I called In Home Appliance Repair and they told me Id have to call into Assurant to make another service ticket, which I did. It takes two to three days for service tickets to get processes. After the second day, I called McNiels in Denton to see when I was going to receive my service, they didnt have a ticket for me. I told them Assurant said they would be providing my warranty service. McNiels told me they only service what they sell! I called Assurant back, they turned it over the scheduling gods. Three days later they set me up with a repairman 45 miles away. After waiting on him for four days he says he just doesnt have time to come by and pick up my refrigerator to take to his shop. I call Assurant again and am told its being turned over to the scheduling gods again. Three more days go by and they set me back up with In Home Appliance Repair. I call and they tell me they will be out on July 7 2014. The evening of July 6, 2014 In Home Appliance Repair calls and tells me theyve decided since the defrosting didnt fix the problem two weeks ago it was a system failure and they dont do that type of repair, they would call Assurant for a different service provider. I call Assurant to see whats up, they tell me A&E Factory will be out on July 13,2014. Now nearing a month WITHOUT a refrigerator and still not knowing how long its going to take to fix the problem! If Whirlpool is trusting Assurant to provide extended warranty service then thats exactly what they should be doing, it certainly isnt my fault they cant get service people out in a timely manner to resolve appliance issues. Its not like being without a stove or microwave - this is a refrigerator!!! This is the poorest service I have ever received from Whirlpool and Ive been a faithful Whirlpool customer for many years. In my opinion they should bring me a new fridge, haul this piece of crap to the nearest dump and be done with it! And after reading some of these posts there are lots of people that feel the same way about their appliances. This type of Customer Service needs to STOP, $2700.00 for a refrigerator and have to deal with crap like this is crazy!!!

Whirlpool realized in 2002 that this was a defective part. In 2005, they recalled the product. I purchased the Hot Water Heater (Model # BFG1F4034T3NOV) in 2006. Being this product was recalled in 2005, why was it still being sold at Lowes and other stores? Why wasnt it pulled from the shelves? Why werent the parts replaced before being sold? The hot water heater stopped producing hot water. I contacted Whirlpool and they said the gas control valve had to be replaced; they gave me a part # and an authorization # and told me I could pick it up at Lowes. I asked about installation, because it is still under warranty. They said they dont service this. I picked up the part and tried to find a plumber to do the work and they said it was too small a job. I had to impose on friends to help me; one is a volunteer fireman. He came out and put on the new part and in doing so, another piece broke. We called Whirlpool and they said they had to replace the manifold door assembly. They overnighted the part. Again, I asked about them servicing this hot water heater and I told them I am a single parent and cant do this work. They said they dont service this item. I then had a handyman come out to try to fix it and he wasnt able to get it to work and now I smelled gas (it cost me $198). I had to call the gas company and they came and said there was a leak and turned it off and gave me a violation. I called the company I have an HVAC contract with and they added the hot water heater to that contract and it cost me $120 more for a year. They finally got it working, I was without hot water for a week. I do not recommend anyone buy products from this company. They are horrible to do business with and their service is awful (the service they dont offer).

Bought a Whirlpool Gold stainless steel refrigerator and the thermostat didnt work after a couple months of use. Lost all the product in the refrigerator and freezer and whirlpool would not compensate us. They did pay for the $29 part because it was under warranty but still think it was completely their fault for putting a defective thermostat in it. Last night the relay on the circuit breaker stopped working and I again lost all my refrigerated food overnight. This time it is not under warranty because the warranty was only good for one year. So, I just paid $314.03 to have it repaired. So angry that I spent so much money on 4 Whirlpool Gold products when I remodeled my kitchen.

We bought the Whirlpool top loader washer and the drum broke down and after several attempted fixes it was replaced by new one as we were being financed through a business. So here comes the new one - same exact washer. Not only did it not clean well (normal soiling) then it goes to ul which means not balanced... not because clothes arent but because the thing that balances - it went only after a yr!! It would also keep filling draining again to no drain leaving clothes SOPPING wet... So very disappointed to say the least. What a piece of junk this washer is!! Its going to the curb tonight and being replaced by GE - NO MORE WHIRLPOOL AGAIN !!

Electric hot water heater model E40H6-45-100 - Purchased at Lowes. Husband
Electric hot water heater model E40H6-45-100 - Purchased at Lowes. Husband installed, tank filled, no hot water coming through house lines. Called support center several times after trying each recommendation that did not work. They kept saying it was a plumbing problem. My husband is very smart when it comes to electrical and plumbing. He has done numerous repairs to our homes over the last 30 years we have been married. He knows what he is talking about and told the support tech that he believed it was a faulty water heater. She immediately said the units are all tested before they leave the factory. The final step was to remove the nipple that the hot water flows through out of the tank and remove the two black bellows. Now my husband can see directly through the piece but also decides to put his finger through the the open whole on the top of the tank and cannot get his finger through - it is blocked. He gets a flashlight and a screw driver. Puts the screw driver through a thin plate that was blocking where the water should be coming through. He can now actually see the water in the tank. This was the whole problem! So they could not have tested this tank. They did give us a ref number to take parts back to store to replace parts we already bought and cannot use. Its the time and energy on whats suppose to be an easy job that counts. Will not recommend Whirlpool products to anyone and probably will not purchase any in the future. Ours was not as bad as most of the other reviews I read but wanted to advise others who may think about what brand to purchase.

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio washer. It was great for almost year. After that it has been nothing but trouble. The body of the washer has rust coming through the paint and large areas that is so rusted that the paint has chipped off completely. A washer is expected to deal with water and not rust through the body. I have a 10-year old Ford truck without a speck of rust. Dont they undercoat? The circuit board has had to be replaced because of rust. I have to take several Q-tips and go under the cover to remove all the rust if I dont it gets rust stains on my clothes, which is impossible to remove. The customer service is non existent. They have left me on the line for over 40 minutes. I hang on only because it would be another hour or so of my time to get someone to answer. I was without a washer for a month while waiting for parts. Why dont they have parts for their products? I had to slop my way too dirty laundry mats 3 times a week as I do 2 to 3 loads a day.My washer is downstairs and stops and gives me the unbalanced message even when its not, running up and down the stairs several times to complete one load. I also get the F51 message for no perceivable reason. The extra rinse button only works 1/2 the time. This was an expensive washer ($1,000.00) and I feel that I deserve my money back. They are knowingly making an inferior product.

On October 21st 2011, Michael sent their technician, Steve, to my residence
On October 21st 2011, Michael sent their technician, Steve, to my residence to check my washing machine. I was in the house the whole duration of his visit. After testing he concluded that the control board of my machine is faulty. Although he brought with him his own control board but he never showed me my machine working when he installed his control board, even though I was in the house at the time. With my lack of knowledge at the time, I missed requesting that he show me the machine working with his control board. But he should have involved me in the diagnosis since I was just home and should have been his initiative. Anyway, Steve then said that the total cost of the control board plus service is $194.03 on top of the diagnosis fee of $81.19. I was taken aback with the cost since working used washing machine on Craigslist just cost $150. So I said I can only pay him for his diagnosis of $81.19 by personal check. He issued me an invoice with account number **. I also thought that I also could get a cheaper control board online which I did. Also, I know I have the right not to purchase control board from them as long as the diagnosis was accurate since I paid for it. So I ordered a control board from ApplianceZone.com and also chatted with a technician named Kelly. Based on the symptoms I related to her, Kelly confidently said that the issue is not with the control board but the Control panel is the one that is faulty. Kellys diagnosis was different from Steves but since Steve has personally checked my machine, I decided to purchase a control board. When the board arrived on Octpber 25th, I immediately installed it as its easy to install since I followed simple instructions how to install it myself. But when I installed the new control board it manifested the same issue as the original part.. So I called Steve over the phone and he said the new control board.I purchased also faulty and that I have to replace it which I did. Then the second new control board arrived on November 8th and when I installed it, exactly same issue again manifested. That was then I suspected probably Steve misdiagnosed my Washing Machine. So I tried calling Depew the same day but wasnt able to reach Steve. Instead another guy named Kenneth answered the phone. He said that Steve has the right diagnosis but I insisted that I recalled Steve never showed me the washing machine working with his control board installed so Im doubting he got the correct diagnosis. Since it wasnt helping me at all, I decided to visit personally their store on November 8,th 2011 at 5933 Burnet Rd Austin TX, to request an audience with their manager. Then I met the manager named Michael ** who I believe is also the owner of the company. After introducing myself and explained the issue and told him that I wasnt satisfied with the service rendered by Steve because with two new control boards why is my machine still not working so I believe Steve got an incorrect diagnosis. I was a dissatisfied customer and I was hoping they would find a way to help me since I already paid them $81.19 but to my surprise, this Michael ** was so rude, his response was We have done our job, you are on your own now. We dont need your business. Good Bye I said Is this how you treat your customers? he answered me This is how I treat you.. I felt discriminated and insulted by his unprofessionalism. I couldnt imagine an owner of a business treating a customer like that. Before I left, I told him that I will report him to Whirlpool since they referred Depew to me and I would also report to the Texas Attorney General. He just said Go ahead and do what you want to do. We have nothing to do with you; I couldnt believe we have a business owner like this here in Austin TX. I really appreciate you helping me with this issue with Depew Appliance especially with this issue with their manager Michael Depew. I also demand refund of $81.19 for the diagnosis as they dont deserve to be paid and also they should pay me the cost of the control board $85.13. Lastly, I like to request that whatever license this company is holding must be reviewed as his dealing with me as customer is nothing short of discriminatory.

I bought it 3yrs ago, and it give us headache, only two weeks used and it stops working. We call their service center and have them check, findings is the motor not working and have to replace, we are asking them to replace it with new washing machine, but they only replace the motor, what we cannot accept is that they replace it with a surplus motor. Only two weeks used and they replace only surplus parts!!! Damn. What a bad experience... (The motor they put is noisy too)! After a year the spring hinge collapse and have to fix it again. And now my washing machine is like a helicopter when spinning, shaking and moving around our laundry area... I dont want to buy Whirlpool anymore.

How long is she going to go without being able to use her washer that she bought from your company? Is it going to take a year? 5 months!!!! I should be billing you for all of the out service of laundry we are having to pay for because of this inconvenience. I hate posting this but the only other option is therapy for my family from dealing with this insane issue.

Whirlpool dishwasher failed after 16 months. It leaks continuously. they sent a service provider 5 days later out to fix it, then said there would be a $129 fee for coming (this was never mentioned at time of appointment), and the total repair cost would be $208. I wasted a day waiting for repair person to come, I declined the repair due to the cost. I called customer service later, during office hours, and I received the poorest level of customer service I have ever experienced. Whirlpool will no longer receive support from the our family. This machine cost over $500, and a ruined rug. Whirlpool wasted our time, and a day from work. We will never purchase Whirlpool appliances moving forward, due to this product and customer service experience.

The washing machine is making inviolable noise. I had purchase a semi-auto Whirlpool washing machine from Lotus Koh-e-fiza, Bhopal two months ago. Initially, the company sent a man for demonstration, and at that time, the machine was making a sound and the mechanic removed his back plate and his components and saw that the plate of heating rod is unscrewed. He temporarily tightened that plate with normal screw, and after two months, the same sound is coming again. At present, we are not using the product for the past 5 days and launched a complaint to customer care. The call attender said that the problem will be solved in 20 hours but no one came within 4 days. Today, 21 September 2011, I called to customer care. He was telling me that the complaint has been attended by our attender and at present, no complaint is pending. The washing machine is in warranty period and I am not satisfied with the service of Whirlpool. At present, I am using the product of Godrej and LG, and the service of both company is very good then Whirlpool.

Sad that I have to file this review! After reading multiple other reviews on all brands available to American citizens, I have come to the realization that cheap labor and materials are creating massive appliance garbage in our country as well as financial rip off for us all. It needs to STOP! What has happened to doing things right!! What company is going to be the first to produce good refrigerators! Paid over $2000 for my side by side and it is only 5 years old and has a freon leak that cant be fixed. Repairman said will have to buy a new refrigerator. Pathetic!! Cheap manufacturing in foreign countries is killing our economy and our household finances. Be prepared to buy NOTHING that works! Yeah, thats what I work hard for and look forward to. Americans better wake up.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer a few years back... Started getting F1 error message and just proceeded thru it like most did initially, but now has become pain in the rear just to do one load of laundry as we get the error 2-3 times when we start each load - then on every load w/ 21 minutes left on the cycle. From the looks of things online this is a chronic problem and should be fixed by manufacturer. I called Whirlpool customer service and first person I talked with said they understand it is an issue but no longer are any recalls or reworks on that machine. I asked to speak w/ supervisor and sat on hold until I got one. Was then informed they do know it was a problem but was not something they could do anything about other than schedule a service company to come take a look. I specifically asked if there was at one time a recall or if they were fixing this issue for a while. She said Yes, they took care of some of their customers but are no longer doing that for this model. So basically because I didnt call in at the right time I need to fix my machine myself. I said it will be the last Whirlpool or Whirlpool associated appliance I ever purchase if this is the kind of customer service I can expect... The supervisor just said she was sorry to hear that and to have a nice day. Hopefully enough people read these reviews as I wish I would have before purchasing my Cabrio and dont buy Whirlpool.

This year, it started load balance issues on the spin cycle; in other words, it wont spin without sounding like its going to tear itself apart. It cost $100 to have someone look at it, and was going to cost almost $400 to repair, and whats next? Now, it no longer agitates the clothes during either the wash or the rinse. I am SO disappointed in this and very angry that I trusted this well known brand with my hard-earned money. Atlanta Gas Light Company showed up at my door Saturday Jan 16, 2016 citing they needed to do maintenance on our meter. 20 minutes later, he came in and said we had a leak. He checked all of the furnaces and water heater, then zeroed in on my brand new Whirlpool Range (purchased 11/11/15) indicating it had a faulty control valve. This faulty and dangerous range was sold to me by Lowes and manufactured by Whirlpool and we had unknowingly been living with a gas leak for 2 1/2 months!
