Whirlpool Duet Sports washer purchased 11-08 was found defective by service
Whirlpool Duet Sports washer purchased 11-08 was found defective by service technician due to improperly secured bolts on counterweight at factory. I contacted Whirlpool service and was informed that warranty will not cover any parts or labor. I ordered parts for repair. It will take at least 2 weeks until arrival and repair of item. Clothes washing now were taken to town for washing at additional expense. After repair, only 90 days of warranty was given by the service technician. The cost of $260 to repair item for a possible life cycle of only 90 more days seems ridiculous.

I want to make this clear I’d give NO stars if I could!! Whirlpool is totally junk!! I bought a whole suite of Whirlpool kitchen appliances from Home Depot that is a dishwasher, stove, and fridge. The dishwasher never cleaned the dishes, always left a film on everything, cant clean out the drain area, the screens don’t come off and less a year later the dishwasher top rack literally fell off and broke all the glasses that were loaded in it and the fridge keeps freezing all my food!!! I keep having to adjust the thermostat up down up down just to make it doesn’t freeze. Now that the warranty is no good on any of the crap I will no doubt be charged an arm and a leg to get it fixed, which definitely won’t be worth it!!! Whirlpool is such crap!!! Made in America no wonder!!! Don’t buy any whirlpool anything!!! You will be very VERY disappointed!!! I’ve bought plenty of brand new appliances. Bosch is by far the best dishwasher even the cheaper ones. Now I have to pay to dispose the whirlpool crap!!! I am sure whirlpool doesn’t give a crap though!!! They will keep selling their crap, but don’t Buy it!!! You will be soooo disappointed!!!

We bought a new Whirlpool counter depth side by side stainless steel refrigerator in January 2012. We have had 7 service calls because things were freezing on the top shelf. They installed a new part and it still froze. They told us to do dumb stuff at Whirlpool like turn the temp up, dont use the top shelf, etc. The money they want for these appliances and you should put a band aid on it to make it function properly? Duh? The final fix was to duct tape the vents to allow less air flow. This appliance should have been recalled. I have since read reviews and it is an ongoing problem. Before buying, do your homework and make sure the other brands are not manufactured by Whirlpool. The Whirlpool hotline for problems is not that service friendly, they have an attitude. I need to replace two more appliances and they will not be Whirlpool. The repair service was great but they are independent companies, not Whirlpool. How do you fix a lemon? Consumers need to be aware of this. Whirlpool would rather spend money on repairs that did not work instead of replacing the appliance. If you want 7 or more repair visits and no results, buy Whirlpool.

I have always had Whirlpool Everything - not anymore!!!! I purchased a water saver washer that I am very unhappy with - it does not get the clothes clean. I have to put it on an extra rinse (water saver?) to get the soap out. I use the Tide for HE washers. I cannot wash a large load in it - directions say I can. Anything too heavy or bulky will not spin out well. Will bounce all over the place. From now on I will switch to another brand. They push so hard to buy a warranty because they know you will have trouble! Should have read the reviews!!

I had a 14-year-old 40-gallon tank that was working great but I decided it was time to get it replaced. I picked out a Whirlpool 400-gallon tank stated to be good for a family of 3 to 4 people. Immediately after installation, I got complaints from family members that there was no enough hot water for morning showers. I turned up the thermostat to the maximum 140 degrees, but there was still wasnt enough hot water. The Whirlpool rep on the phone stated that 3 people cant take back-to-back showers. The unit wasnt designed for this. I told him the unit is advertised for a family of 3 to 4 and I have only 3. I asked where on the advertisement does it state 3 people cant take back-to-back showers? His response was, Where does it state you can? I asked his name and he would not give it to me. If 3 people cant take showers on a unit stated to be for a family of 3 to 4, something is wrong. Maybe it should be advertised as suitable for a family of 1. I will not buy a Whirlpool product again and I advise others to take my advice, go elsewhere.

Whirl Pool Duet Wash WFW9400SW - I had this washer for 5-1/2 years. I use it about 3 times a month. Warranty ran out this last February. Machine stopped working. Called tech and he came and said I need a new console and power board. Two weeks later I get told they dont make it anymore and sorry about your luck. I used this washer under 200 times in 5 and half years. Whirlpool offered nothing and I will never buy a Whirlpool product again.

We purchased the extended warranty (service plan number **). The washing machine has been giving trouble. It locks out during every wash cycle and each time, we have to unplug the machine to reset it. Sometimes it makes it through the next cycle and sometimes, not. The first couple of calls we made, we were told to make sure it was cleaned, to make sure it was leveled. All this was done and we still have the same problem. Finally, a technician was sent out. He could not duplicate the problem and left. Thirty minutes after he left, the machine locked out again. We put in for another call, we were told it would be two more days. In the meantime, we actually video taped the next three times it locked up. This time, when the technician came out, he was able to see our video as well as saw the machine lock up. He stated, It did not give me a code so I do not know what else to do. He left and ten minutes after he left, it locked out again. We immediately called back and they informed us they could not get anyone out again until next week. This is very frustrating to have an obvious problem and have an extended warranty and the problem cannot be solved. We feel as if we are being blown off. Is there anything you can do to help us and/or give us advise of how to get this problem resolved?

I purchased a brand new Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set not even 2 years prior. When I first started using it, I pulled shirts out of the wash after being ran through and found deodorant marks still on the inside of the shirts. I had to wash all of my loads on heavy soil and still had to run some loads through more than once. The wash machine quit working about 1 month ago, so I had a service man out to look at it. It ended up being the control panel and the part itself was going to cost me $300 and by the time I paid to have it repaired, the total cost was just under $400. The service man proceeded to tell me that Whirlpool had another company actually make the control panels for the Cabrio model and he has serviced several of these washers and when he would repair one part, another part would stop working. I was very upset and bought a new wash machine. I would like to add, I am a single mom with a 2 1/2 year old, so the wash machine was not used excessively in any way. I dont work outside so my clothes are never soiled heavily. Needless to say, my washer was not under warranty so Whirlpool couldnt do anything for me. A wash machine should last longer than less than 2 years. I would not recommend this model to anyone. And for Whirlpool to put their name on such a poor product is very disappointing since I have had good experiences with their products in the past.

I agree with all the unsatisfied customers with the Whirlpool Cabrio! Clothes do not come out clean! I called Whirlpool also and was told to be sure to place my clothes around the sides of the tub, which I always did. If Whirlpool was smart, they would take the complaints about the Cabrio and offer the customers a small amount of money towards purchasing another Whirlpool washer. I know I would have appreciated that. Instead Ill go out and buy another washer and not a Whirlpool. Even my kids dont want this washer and its practically new!

I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher from Lowes and it has never worked properly ever since. It has been a little over a year now and it will not drain, will not wash dishes, and it stinks so bad that you cant drink out of the glasses. Its a total piece of junk. I called the manager at Lowes and explained all the problems. He said that he would see what he could do. I left three phone numbers but he never even bothered to call back. I will never buy anything from Lowes again.

Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator, #GI6FDRXXY07 ICE MAKER PROBLEM - Ever since we bought this ref in 2012, we have been facing problems one after the other. First the refrigerator was shutting off on itself thawing the food the ref & freezer. (When we were on vacation, in summer of 2012 , it was a disaster when we returned home.) This a continuous on going problem... not fixed. Second 2012 Spring the Icemaker shuts off spilling water at the dispenser, when called customer service they sent a technician who replaced the ice maker. But again the icemaker is spilling water or leaking now. Third 2013 Winter, the bottom freezer was leaking and ice buildup at bottom. We have been having problems ever since we got this. WHIRLPOOL YOU HAVE DISAPPOINTED US, its been an exasperating experience. Please Help, its not our fault for your poor design & faulty product.

I am very disappointed with the purchase of a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer I made about 3-4 years. The price was too high and the quality is extremely poor. It has a leak in the pump which will cost me $300.00 to fix. I probably would have been better off buying the cheapest washer and dryer set they had. At least, those actually wash the clothes and dont breakdown. Never again will I buy a Whirlpool and I will get every chance to share my opinion of them.

This is new and replaced an old model that was not doing the job. This new one seems to be ever so much better. The dishes are clean and I no longer have a white residue on the dishes and utensils. It is easy to load. I miss having a silverware separator for the holder because the silverware tends to be too close to each other. I always rinse things well before putting them into the machine because I usually run the machine about once a week. Overall, this is a good machine for the price I paid. I am loyal to Whirlpool and this one on sale was a very good value. Very pleased.

Purchased this French door fridge with the freezer on the bottom in Septemb
Purchased this French door fridge with the freezer on the bottom in September 2017. Started having problems shortly after with the freezer not auto defrosting/ice damming on the evaporator unit in the freezer unit, which caused the fridge to warm up and food to spoil. Service came out several times and ultimately replaced the Jazz board 3 times, 2 harnesses in freezer, 1 Heater and the evaporator fan motor, with the same problem happening after a few weeks. Requested a replacement after the 3rd visit, but Whirlpool refused to back up their product. Sent service a few more times to no avail. Demanded a replacement once again. They sent a new service company out 15 months after our original purchase and they FINALLY deemed it non-repairable and are FINALLY going to replace it (turned out to be a broken wire inside the walls of the fridge, likely was like that upon delivery). So now we will have been put out for a total of 16 months for a fridge that cost >$1000. If Im spending that on an appliance I expect it to work properly or else be fixed/replaced in a TIMELY fashion. And the best part: they refuse to compensate us for any of the food that was lost due to a faulty product and very poor customer service! That was a lot of money lost because of their incompetence. If they had just replaced the broken appliance in the first place I would have been satisfied. But since they refused to do anything beneficial to remedy the situation, I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance again. And add in the inconvenience of scheduling a time to be home for multiple visits to greet the repairman. Oh yeah, plus our time wasted defrosting our frost-free fridge with a blow dryer to buy us time until it got repaired. Buyer beware!

I have a cabrio washer which is the worst washing machine I have ever seen. I can wash a small load of clothes and the ones on the bottom dont even get wet after being in the machine for 60 minutes. I have tried setting it to heavy loads, added water, stopped the machine and redistributed the clothes, it was a total waste of money. Dark colors come out looking worse than when they went in. If I save money on water I spend twice as much on electricity because I have to wash everything twice. The store where I bought it went out of business so I have no recourse.

We bought a Whirlpool refrigerator in January at Home Depot. In July we started noticing that the freezer doesnt work. The ice maker doesnt work, everything melt away. Frozen items were lost. We constantly have to dry the floor since it is leaking water. We called whirlpool on July 27 and they send someone to check it out the following day. He reported that we need a new freezer door. I call for a follow up, I was told that it will take 6-8 weeks before we get a new door and part for the ice maker. We recently called to follow up on the status of the door just to find out that the order didnt get process until mid August. In the meanwhile, the fridge is having condensation. Water is everywhere inside. Fruits are being rotten because of too much moisture. We called again and they send out the same technician. The technician reported that the fridge will not work properly until freezer is fix. We call whirlpool again just for them to tell us to wait for the part, and gave us an extra 6 month warranty.

I purchased a high dollar built in side by side fridge with custom panels in 4/2005 and had my first service call in 5/2005. Since 2005 we have had 11 service call mostly for defrost failures and over temp. readings. From 2011-11/20/2013 we were issue free then the fridge over temp alarm sounded and we could not hear the fan motor. We had the certified tech come out to evaluate and found that the main control board needed to be replaced. Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool no longer make this item and forwarded us to Core Centric solutions to have a new one built. After speaking with the certified tech who had been out to service our fridge 11 times he informed us that these boards in his experience have never lasted more than a year. We spoke with a customer service rep a Kitchen Aid and asked about a prorated discount on a new built in fridge and she said it seemed reasonable but after checking for authorization informed me I needed to have the board rebuilt at my own cost and that even though this typically takes about 4 weeks to build the fact that our family would be without a fridge is not Kitchen Aids problem. 6/20/2005-over temp/not cooling call (replaced defrost thermostat) 9/2005-over temp/freezer iced over in bottom (freezer decided and drain unclogged) 10/05-over temp/not cooling (replaced fan motor) 9/06-over temp/freezer iced over in bottom (drain line decided, kitchen aid had no advice on how to fix) 10/06-over temp/not cooling, ice build up (whirlpool recommended replace heat kit and bimetal) 11/7-over temp and ice buildup in freezer with leakage (adj to drain pump and defrost drain basin made) 11/07- over temp and freezer icing over (whirlpool sent out a new heater probe) 6/08-over temp and ice buildup (bimetal and foam block replaced) 10/09-over temp, lights and motor shutting on and off (replaced defective board) 10/09- fan making excessive noise (ice buildup found on evaporator fan)11/13-over temp ice buildup in freezer, burning smell from fridge and no air movement or cooling in either compartment (need board rebuilt as on 10/09)Board no longer available from whirlpool, must be custom built at owners expense and will take up to 4 weeks. D/t continuing issues and whirlpool not willing to help the customer with replacement I would highly suggest no one buy a Kitchen Aid fridge.

The technician that was here to repair my propane water heater called Whirlpool to get help with the problem. The pilot would not stay lit, they would not help him. I told him it was installed in a mobile home and he had to cap the gas to the heater, it was still under warranty. Later I found out there was a recall on this heater and that probably was the reason they told him that. I ordered a water heater just for mobiles and am in the process of getting it installed. Bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer in 2/2013. In 5/2014, the washer went out of balance, but corrected itself quickly. Since then, it sounds like a cement mixer during the spin cycle. It took one month to get someone to come out and look at it. Apparently the bearings went and the part alone costs $450! Add another $250-$300 for labor and I could buy another washer. We called Whirlpool, who were unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation, i.e., replace the washer, send a replacement part, give us a discount on the replacement part. We didnt buy the extended warranty because who would think that a brand new washer would crap out after 15 months... and theres only the two of us.Not like Im washing clothes for a family of 5! I only needed a new washer/dryer because I moved out of state and didnt want to move the ones I had. Regretting that decision. Its unfortunate that there has been a decline in the manufacturing of goods to the point that they can be considered a throw away item. Will NOT be replacing this with another Whirlpool.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (Mod #WTW7300XW1) and Dryer in 2011. Ever since we have had the washer it has eaten clothing, towels, sheets etc. It now has a main bearing that is so noisy that we have to close the door to the laundry room to be able to hear in the rest of the house. Also the sealed tank around the drum is now leaking. We invested close to $1000.00 in this washer and in my opinion it is a piece of junk. The washer repairman told me that he has had 3 (three) other Cabrios with the same problem in the last month, but Whirlpool says that there is nothing they can do as they have had no issues with this problem. Here we sit again for another four days awaiting a service technician.I am disgusted with the failures of Whirlpool and their warranty division. Again, in less than a year Ive paid nearly three thousand dollars for a refrigerator and it fails, destroying hundreds of dollars of food. Five years ago, I decided to splurge on a really nice (expensive) over-the-range microwave during a complete kitchen remodel and had the Whirlpool Gold Velos Microwave GH7208XRS installed, thinking Whirlpool would be a reliable brand to replace our 18+ year-old (still working) Kenmore countertop model that we had used previously. About 4 months ago, after a couple of mysterious cases of the control panel going haywire (turning on by itself in a different modes), it started pouring smoke out the top and service was called and the magnetron and inverter were replaced to the tune of $482.Fine, things happen. Yesterday, while opening the door, the handle snapped off and (upon closer inspection) I noticed cracks around all sides of the door frame - see photos. After reading about similar complaints about Whirlpool microwaves on this forum, I really feel that this is a defect in materials and should be recalled or at least addressed by the company if they want to maintain their reputation. Right now, I am waiting on their authorized repair service to see what my recourse will be.

Ive bought a new home and I purchased a brand new Whirlpool black oven range. First, a piece of metallic on top of the oven broke. I couldnt believe it. I called whirlpool and talked to a customer service rep, he told me that I needed to clean the surface immediately after something spill on it. To make sure if I understood it right, I asked him You mean when I am cooking some rice and some water spill out, do I have to remove the pot and clean the surface and repeat that all along while I am cooking? BELIEVE OR NOT, THE ANSWER WAS yes. I cant believe the bad quality of this product and worst, its customer service defensive attitude. Dont buy this product.

We paid extra for a 10 year warranty on purchase from Airport Appliances. On delivery I commented that the plastic material used throughout the fridge was of very flimsy material and wobbly. In the first week the crisper drawer joint cracked to our amazement and they had to send another one from Whirlpool. In the 14th month after the Whirlpool warranty had expired, we found the pantry drawer lid/cover shattered by the door which shut on it because of no reasonable leeway provided in its design. On calling the special warranty people they said they only covered the compressor and parts and nothing else. Called Whirlpool who quoted $85.00 for the lid, plus S&H and taxes. Now we have an eyesore every time we open the fridge when we see the taped up cracked three foot pantry drawer lid. We badly regret giving away a 25 year old perfectly working Whirlpool Workhorse Fridge and buy this newer model which we will have to live with for a quarter of a century. I am 75 years old now. Never a Whirlpool again!

I bought a model (W10632082 A) dishwasher, and the top shelf is very flimsy, the dishes and glasses do not get clean, even after I fully removing any food soil from them. The dryer does not work. The dishes come out wet and with water spots. It is very noisy, and the water cycles are programmed to run upwards to three hours!!! The basket for the silverware is designed to be hung on the door, this basket falls off easy, and you cant use the left side because the normal size of the spoons or forks, get in the way of the dish washing soap reservoir, making it difficult to close the door. Do not buy this product. Horrible!!!

The machine cleans clothes okay but constantly gets out of balance and sometimes it take all day to complete an entire cycle. It is very frustrating to rearrange clothes, restart the washer, and then wonder how many times it is going to take. It is especially time consuming to wash a large item like a bedspread, not to mention the waste of water. I can expect to reset at least 3 times. The machine is less than a year old. I think it is a design flaw or else I just have a lemon.

Washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, microwave and I have had issues with every product after the first year, from plastic parts failing. That should have been made out of metal, to motherboard replacement. I work Hard for my Money, and when I need to buy a new appliance, I want truth in advertisement of what I am spending MY MONEY on. I would like a product that is built to last!!! If whirlpool cannot offer this we need to COMPLAIN all over the Internet until whirlpool changes their design and uses better parts for their products. I as a consumer deserve this.

Lid lock fault started about 3 months ago, googled fix and found this to be a very common problem with this brand. Have been able to override and reset it but it is very frustrating to deal with. Called in a repair person this morning who, for $140 told us we had a faulty lid lock and for $360 he would replace it. I contacted Whirlpool and asked if they were aware of this very common complaint (just google it) and they were not but offered to make a record of mine. Please do not buy Whirlpool. Very disappointed with their product and their response.

My gas hot water heater failed. The pilot went out and could not be relit.
My gas hot water heater failed. The pilot went out and could not be relit. The Whirlpool water heater has a 12 year warranty and we are in year 5. Sears said they could not send anyone to repair it because there was no service in our area. We live 30 minutes from Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas. They offered to replace it even though I had a plumber on standby, ready to replace it. They said they could not let me do that if they had one in stock. After waiting a week for the delivery, they called at 4:45 pm to claim that the delivery truck would not start. They would not put it on another truck or help in any way. Then they said it would be another week before they could deliver it. All this time we are going without hot water, trying to cook, clean, take baths, do laundry etc. They had no sympathy and refused to provide compensation so I could proceed with installing a new water heater. I could have done this if I knew a check was in the mail but they refused to allow me to do this. This happened to me at another big box store years ago and they sent a check immediately. The customer support in the hot water heater dept at Sears was terrible. If they cant send someone to repair and they cant provide a replacement within a few days, it is only reasonable to offer payment so that the customer and move forward with repairs. I will never buy another appliance from Sears after this nightmare. On December 4th Im supposed to get the delayed hot water heater but if the truck doesnt start, who knows how long I will have to wait. I am reasonable and flexible but lack of hot water is something a customer should not have to wait two weeks to get resolved.

To Whirlpool Headquarters, Our message to those whom wish to listen is that your product is only as good as the service company you employ to handle service and repairs. Our most recent experience with A&E Factory Service has us convinced we will never buy Whirlpool appliances again. After a two week wait for our scheduled appointment we were dealt a most unprofessional diagnosis as to what may be the problem and then told that to service our appliance would result in overtime and that simply wouldnt be happening at this visit. The appointment time was 12 to 4 PM the repairmen was here at 2:30 pm only for five minutes. We have spoken with a Michael ** with your company who advised us to wait for a call from A&E which no call was ever received. We will be sharing our disgust with Home Depot where we purchased our refrigerator and alerting them to avoid further customer dissatisfaction by no longer promoting Whirlpool in our area. We are level headed and fair people just not able to grasp that a company as big as yours cant do better than this.

They need to be washed again and the fuzz isnt removed with a lint brush. I called whirlpool and they told me to use fabric softener. I dont like adding chemicals to my wash due to a skin condition. Lowes say they have never heard this complaint but clearly others have experienced this problem from the above reviews. Dont buy this washer. It doesnt clean your clothes. Our 2 yr old Whirlpool Gold refrigerator (French doors, bottom freezer) stopping freezing/cooling. When we got a repairman to come take a look at it, he said the compressor is not working. The warranty on the fridge is only 1 year. However, the compressor is the main component of a refrigerator, and the repairman said 5-6 years is the minimum it should last before breaking. I have a Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer that will be two years old in September 2013. It has been making terrible, loud noises during the spin cycle for a few months now. Repair tech told me it was the bearings and very costly. It will cost me over half of the original cost to repair a less than two year old washer. This is my second Duet front loader from Whirlpool. The first one was a drum issue and the rod ended up snapping. Again, very costly so I bought a new one. I should have learned my lesson the first time. I do not agree with extended warranties and it is just an additional money maker for the manufacturer. They should be making the product so people do not have to purchase those. Anyway, back to the washer at hand. I refuse to spend that much on a newer washer and will never purchase a Whirlpool product again. I will let this thing bang for as long as it is going to last. Unfortunately have also just purchased the dryer that matches this washer since I still had the old model Duet Dryer, so kind of stuck with them. Spent an hour and a half yesterday on the phone talking to people at Whirlpool and they really dont care if you have an issue or not no matter how old your machine is. They just want you to have purchased the extended warranty or forget it. There should be a recall and they should be helping these customers who all seem to be having the same issue. Done with them!!

We bought a Whirlpool model WFW5620HW front-load washer at Lowes. The unit shook so violently during part of the spin cycle that the Whirlpool-authorized service company technician said not to use it while parts were ordered. It seems the balance ring was not functioning. Parts ordered were shocks and tub assembly. The technician suggested trying to get a whole new unit, as the repair is so intensive he had only done one or two in his career.Whirlpool customer service said they would not replace the unit, and an escalated request had the same response. I think this is terrible customer service - when there is such intensive failure in the unit, they should provide a brand new machine. The work has not yet been done - we are without use of a washer for an unknown period of time, since the order of a tub assembly is so uncommon that they do not have a time estimate. Needless to say, we will never buy Whirlpool again, and suggest you do the same.

But in the Whirlpool terms and conditions, it stated clearly that they do not cover if the repairs are made by anyone other than a participating service provider or those recommended.I decided to cancel the warranty after paying the first rate but before it become effective. I fixed the microwave on my own expense with a different repair service, since the one that was recommended by Whirlpool charged almost a half of the amount as I paid for the whole unit.Within the month, the some part got broken again. My Whirlpool microwave oven is terrible. The whole point of a microwave is to cook things faster and make ones life easier. The main problem is food doesnt actually cook due to sensors. Cooking bacon, for example, should be a simple, quick item that easily cooks in a microwave within minutes. Not w/ this Whirlpool! The sensor would not allow the bacon to cook - even after 20 minutes of trying!! Foods such as Bob Evans family sized mashed potatoes cant be cooked either. The sensor in this microwave ensures that only the outer layer is hot while the middle is stone cold. Also, the fan has never worked from day 1, and were now on 6 months of ownership. Whirlpool fridge (model no ETILFKXKS) - I purchased this fridge from a very good dealer (Trail Appliances, Edmonton). Within a year, I had my first of the frozen water drain from top freezer to water pan. Of course, I blamed myself - too much warm food, blah blah. Now this is happening more and more often. The fridge is kept at number 1 of 5 for coldness. All foods are left on counter to cool, but three times over my Christmas holidays this year when I swore I would throw this fridge in the garbage - the drain froze, water all over the fridge, food having to be removed and placed in other peoples fridges, blah blah. Now it did it again this weekend! There are only two living here. I work all day and no one even opens the fridge much and again this happened. Im really sad that such a faulty product (too much insulation hiding the drain pipe behind the fridge and it must be much too small in diameter; otherwise, it wouldnt freeze up). Talking about work. We have two fridges there with 50 people using them all day and they run perfectly for the last 8 years that I have been there. So I think it indicates that my fridge is faulty. Im so sad too because I dont have the money for a new one. I just turned 65 and am about to retire (single mom). You would think that a $1,300 fridge would last longer than 6 years!

I have a two-year-old top of the line Whirlpool Duet Steam washer. Cleaning performance is adequate at best, but my biggest complaint is about the visible mold buildup that collects on the water dispensing plate as well as on the detergent, bleach and softener dispenser and rubber lining of the washer opening. I have cleaned the removable detergent dispenser weekly since purchasing. The water dispensing plate has a continuous buildup of thick black mold that can only be removed with a tooth brush and bleach and only a small portion of those openings are reachable. I have cleaned the machine with Affresh as recommended and exactly as the manufacturer recommends. Nothing changes! I contacted Whirlpool and was told this was normal for all washers in which some moisture always remains and that I should continue to clean and leave the door and dispenser drawer open to allow the areas to air dry. So, I have done all of those things for the past year and nothing has changed! I received notification that a class action suit had been filed against Whirlpool for this mold issue but have not been contacted in any other way. Not only is this mold visibly disgusting but certainly is worrisome from a health perspective. When I contacted the company a second time, I was told there was nothing that could be done and it was in no way a design flaw on the part of Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool classic range model number rf263LXTS0 on January 2010. We had some hang-ups on the kitchen renovation and were not able to install the appliances until May of 2011.I used the cooktop that evening and was very pleased. I then went to use the oven 2 weeks later and it did not heat up. I asked the contractor to check things out (maybe it was something minor that he could fix). He checked the things that he installed and everything on his end was working fine, so he told me to call Whirlpool.A service technician came out and, within 10 minutes, said that the oven controls were defective.I paid $450.00 for the oven originally. The service technician charged me $136.74 for 10 minutes to tell me that the oven control needed to be replaced (that is the major part of the oven) and that it would cost me $318.41 to replace the part.I called Whirlpool and explained my circumstance and Paula, the supervisor from Tennessee, said that there was nothing she could do. I told her that even if I installed the oven back in January of 2010, the major part of the oven should last more than 1 and 1/2 years. What terrible craftsmanship and crappy customer service. It is sad that customer service cant stand by their product and Whirlpool has to rely on making their money on repairing defectives products. I now have to go out and buy a new oven. I also buy a lot of appliances in my business and I will never buy a Whirlpool again.

In the last two years, the inner glass door of the oven has exploded. The last time was Tuesday, 14th January. The oven door was ajar because we had just finished cooking dinner. The noise was deafening but the worst thing about it was the large pieces of glass thrown all over the kitchen. Most of which were large enough and sharp enough to kill a child and seriously wound an adult. I phoned Whirlpool to report this. The operative I spoke to was very polite but told me these things happen and I could have banged it a while ago and left a weak spot! She also said a Supervisor or similar person would telephone me that day. It is now Saturday 18th January and NO phone call. MY concern is there is no mention of this being a possible problem in their literature and their obvious lack of concern under a Health and Safety situation. Not to mention the cost of replacement door glass.

Just had the repairman at my house to repair my 2-year-old Whirlpool refrigerator Model GB2F4DXWS07 - he couldnt fix it. Just throw it away and get a new one. There is a blockage somewhere in the line, he suspects the lines were not cleaned before it was charged at the factory. Repairman said it was a typical 20-year-old refrigerator problem. Customer service was no help - Whirlpool live chat is currently unavailable. Lousy product with worse service. I will never buy another Whirlpool product.

Whirlpool - good price for pair. I have had this pair for over 10 years and they work good and are reliable even though they were not the top of the line models. Large capacity is a must - energy efficient is also a must. Discounts are nice to get but if not available I will go with a name brand. I want a washer with an agitator not one of the new ones that dont have one. Reliability is the most important factor so repairs are not needed. I want a full size washer with several cycles and all cycles have a cold rinse to save energy. Having a center agitator is a must - cant stand the newer ones.

I have owned Craftmaster 30-gallon hot water heater and the only things reliable about it is trouble and aggravation. I purchased this in 2004. I have had to replace the controls, valves, wires, etc. three times in 10 years. And Im now looking at doing it a fourth time. The design of these parts are utter crap! Cheap plastic! After replacing these parts, this hot water heater works great for a few years, then invariably starts acting up. The pilot light goes out when the heater is supposed to kick on instead. Getting the pilot light lit again, is an exercise in futility! The red reset button once released, immediately extinguishes the ignition flame. Supposedly, after holding it down for 1-2 minutes allowing gas to build up, it should light the coils... and if it doesnt, youre supposed to wait 10 minutes to try relighting again. You can repeat this process for 12 hours, and if you finally do get this temperamental piece of junk to light, youre lucky. Customer Service has been useless in assistance. All they want to do is send you e-mail, and get you off the phone. Not to mention, Ive been told by many a rep that the hot water heater extinguishes itself, if water is overheated, and that it must be my fault for setting the temp too hot. Baloney... Ive been told that the underside vent must be cleaned every few months, so that air flow is accurate. Makes no difference one way or the other. And recently, Ive been told by a rep, that my 40-yr-old house likely doesnt vent exhaust out through the roof properly. This product is inferior and unpredictable. Its great when it works, and the pilot light stays lit. God forbid it ever goes out though! It is next to impossible to relight. I have spent more money on service technicians attempting to repair/replace parts, than it would have cost to simply by a new hot water heater. I miss the old days, when it was easy to light a hot water heater: Strike a match, turn the gas on, and instant hot water. No muss, no fuss. Having owned many properties w/ hot water heaters over the years, I have never encountered such repeat problems, as with this product. Its simply not reliable, and not worth the $$$. Never again, will I buy a Craftmaster Product. And I had no clue that there was a Class Action Suit filed, and a settlement involved in these faulty units. Whirlpool/Craftmaster should have notified everyone, who purchased one of their units. Now Im stuck w/ a constantly broken unit, and zero recourse. I will never buy anything Whirlpool/Craftmaster again, as a result.

I have had trouble with this AccuBake stove since four months after I bought it in 2011. First, the clean cycle would work intermittently then would not ignite to bake, broil warm or clean. All burners would light intermittently. Every time I had trouble, I called the service tech from Homestead Lumber, where I purchased the product from and he could never find anything wrong. Product would work fine whenever he came out. Finally, it acted up in May of this year while the product was still under warranty and while the service tech was here. The tech replaced the circuit board. One month later, Im still having trouble replacing igniter. Four days ago, Im still having trouble. This stove stinks. Right now, I wish I had my $959 back for the stove and wish Whirlpool had it stuck up their butt.

We’ve had problems with our fridge where after we had it for about 2 months a crack formed on the inside, the repairman came and put a piece of tape, tape on a new fridge I wasn’t happy. Then we had our stove for about a month and the front right element went it was replaced but to this day it works when it wants to and I brought this to the repairmans attention when he came to replace an element in the oven and he didn’t even offer to take a look at it. We called Whirlpool on the 27th of December to get service on the oven and was told nobody could get here until the 2nd of January. This ruined New Years Eve Plans, New Years Day Plans and our turkey which should have taken a max 5 hours on Christmas Day took 11 hours putting our dinner off until 8:00 pm. We purchased the extended warranty ($700.00) to protect us from high bills for repair and this oven issue ended up costing us about $800.00 for meals out. I asked at the time of my call if there was some kind of rebate to cover our meals and the inconvenience over the holidays and they told me no, that’s pretty bad for such a huge company. Our dishwasher which is also Whirlpool hasn’t worked since day one, we had a repairman out and all he said was, run your hot water before you use it and use Cascade, it’s no longer under warranty and there’s pieces falling off and I have to wash my dishes before I put them through the dishwasher so what’s the use of having one. We purchased all Whirlpool because of the reputation but well never buy Whirlpool again or recommend them.

We purchased this washer on 2008-04-27. It ran okay until a few months ago when it began making strange intermittent noises. This is now happening more and more often. I reviewed a lot of websites and see that this is a common occurrence for Whirlpool Cabrio washers, and Whirlpool will not stand behind it and make it right. Im going to write them a letter mirroring what Im saying here, and remind them that other appliances in my house are coming due for replacements or upgrades. Whirlpool and its affiliates will not be part of those upgrades going forward. I have no patience or tolerance for expensive **, which is what they put out here. I will have to purchase a replacement washer since this seems to have two major areas of failure, both extremely expensive to repair. I might check out Roper and see what they have--its apparently very well rated by the folks that work on these things.

I would like someone to explain to me why the control panel I.e. brains of the dishwasher which is around water is so sensitive to WATER. My daughter is the owner of the house and purchased this dishwasher last summer (2016) and within weeks we were having issue with the sensors. This supposedly was not covered under warranty (it was a WATER ISSUE). So now a dishwasher which cost over 700.00 is a door stop!! Where is people’s common sense... yes Im over 60 years old and very frustrated with the money that was spent for such an inferior product. Imagine having a dishwasher sensitive to water. The people who made it should give their heads a shake. Frustrated grandmother.

We use a Whirlpool Washing Machine and it is one that came with this apartment provided to us by our employers. My parents had a Whirlpool Washing Machine too and they have had no problems since I have known them to use a Whirlpool. The Whirlpool that we are using has been very reliable in the past 3 years we have been using it. No issues whatsoever! The clothes do come out clean, so it does it's job! It is a top loading washing machine as opposed to the newer front loading ones. I have not used a front loading washing machine, so I do not know how it compares to them. The settings on our Whirlpool are basic and very easy to use. (If you know what you are doing, of course). LOL! Reliable is the word for Whirlpool!!

We purchased a brand new Cabrio washer and dryer in December 2010. We didnt move into the new house until February 2011 to start using the appliances. Last week, we called a repairman in to see what was wrong with the machine because it was making such strange sounds. He said it needed 3 new parts including a gear. The gear he took out was broken and gummed up with soap. We were told by an appliance salesperson that the water should never have been able to get to the gear. Parts were to be here by Tuesday of this week and the machine repaired. They called to reschedule yesterday. I called them this morning and they said the tub and another part would be delivered today, but the gear would not be sent out until September 12. This is a brand new machine which was obviously sent out of the factory with a defect. It doesnt clean properly and sounds like an airplane ready for take-off. I have never heard a machine this loud.We are going out and purchase another brand. My advice: Dont buy Whirlpool!Donna

I had purchased fully automatic top loaded WHIRLPOOL WM 360 BW PRO-HS 9.5 on 08/05/2019. I had purchased the above machine after going through the various claims made on the website. However, I regret to say that since installation I find that the performance of the machine is not up to my satisfaction. Even after two visits by the engineer, the following issues remain:(i) The machine makes lot of noise in the initial stage.(ii) Though the timer shows a particular time during selection of a washing cycle, in reality the machine takes one and half times more than the timing shown. In case one selects warm / hot water, the actual time taken is twice that shown or more. I am sure in winters it will take more time in case warm / hot water is selected.(iii) The clothes get badly entangled during wash.In the past I had a LG front loading washing machine which never gave me any problem. I had gone for the best top loading model of Whirlpool hoping for better performance but it has only caused problems. Not worth the expenditure.

We purchased a 50 gallon water heater that claimed to come with a 6-year warranty on parts. Its been a little over two years that we owned the product, and we noticed rust on the bottom. We checked to make sure if water or even moisture is visible from the outside - nothing. The problem is obviously coming from the inside. Since we have warranty, we called them and got nowhere! We were told that it is just cosmetic. They refused to send out a technician to take a look at it. We even emailed them pictures (see pictures) and still nothing, no service. Their warranty is a joke. We will never by any Whirlpool product ever again. Dont believe the sticker that claims you are covered for a certain amount of time. Whirlpool microwave oven a few months old stopped working. Customer service center not helpful with prolonged holds (>30 minutes), no response to email, and amazingly no response to live chat. I am going on 6 weeks without a functioning microwave and 3 kids at home. Thanks Whirlpool.

If there had been a choice for no stars I would have given it none. I bought the Cabrio washer and dryer 2 years ago and been dissatisfied from the beginning. It was recommended to me by the repairman who gave me the bad news that my old Whirlpool was not repairable. I suspect that his recommendation came from the fact that it has a good record with regard to repairs and not that it did a good job cleaning clothes.I thought that perhaps there was a learning curve and I would figure it out. Not so. This washer leaves stains, sometimes even not getting something thoroughly wet. The washer does not get clothes clean, especially whites. I have replaced two sets of white towels because they were never entirely clean and eventually became so dingy that I donated them to the Humane Society. I tried using Oxy Clean and even bleach, but nothing works in this washer. Any workout or sports clothes I soak first in the sink because not doing so results in smelly cleaned laundry that has to be repeatedly washed to remove any sweat odors. The final straw came when I washed a small fleece dog pad and it came out of the washer with one third of it not ever having touched water. I tried explaining these issues to Whirlpool customer service agents, who blithely informed me that Whirlpool can do nothing to help. So, I will donate this heap of metal to anyone who is willing to take it on and never purchase another Whirlpool product. Incidentally, I submitted this review to the whirlpool review site and they refused to publish it.

We bought this Cabrio washer WTW6400SW2 several years ago. Immediately after having it delivered and installed, it started displaying an F1 fault code. The main control board was replaced under warranty. It happened again within six months. Another board was replaced. That board lasted another six months. The warranty was up by then, so I used the machine by hovering over it and restarting it every time it failed. After two years of this piece of junk, we put it in storage while we worked on the road. It was brought out on 10/01/11. I called a repairman (who came on 10/04/11) to come replace the board again. He told me that the last two times it had been replaced with the same defective board, that Whirlpool had never fixed the problem. He claimed he had the new improved board, which he replaced for about $350. Two days ago (361 days later), it went bad again. The same repair company came back and said it was the board again. I just tried chatting with a person working on the Whirlpool website. They (of course) said they would do nothing about the washer. They do not stand behind their product, obviously. Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit over these washers? It is a ridiculous amount of money to spend for a product that does not work. This is just wrong!

We purchased our new home in February of 2012 and found a good deal on a 6 appliance package from a local dealer (not box store). In these four years, had to replace igniter in gas range oven. Weve had 3 repair visits for the fridge, dead ice-maker, temperature imbalance freezing vegetables, meat drawer constantly falling off tracks, door shelf rails fall off and all shelf contents fall to floor. Dishwasher rinse dispenser has never functioned, never empties. Technician claims it is working as designed. Washing machine - 3 separate service calls. We finally decided to buy a different brand last year. Only the dryer and microwave have have performed as expected with no service calls. The package deal saved us about $500 but in just 4 years we have spent over $1000 (including $400 to buy a new washing machine). VERY disappointed in this brand.

A couple years ago we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8000 top-load, high-capacity, washing machine based upon good claims of the salesman at Lowes - Appliance Dept. This was not an inexpensive machine. However, this washing machine failed to live up to representations and performance is poor. However, biggest complaint is that clothes are able to get stuck between drum and the unique agitating device which results in holes and tears in material. This is a significant design flaw and were not sure why more people dont complain about this rather significant design flaw. Of course, there are other shortcomings... but destruction of clothes is a serious problem. While this machine is in excellent condition, it will be replaced with a more traditional washing machine with vertical agitator ASAP.

I bought a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer in September 2013 and washer is already broken. It leaks out the front of the front loading door (yes, I clean it as advised, including leaving door open to air dry etc). I am a retired senior citizen and my wife and I spend 6 months of the year in Florida so the washer has barely been used since we are barely home and its not like we are trying to wash load after load of heavily soiled items daily. I would not recommend this product at all!! The repair people said it would cost approximately $300 to fix and offered a plan to fix it for $350 with a 1 year warranty. Why should I bother to do either if I will have to do same after 1 year? This machine is barely used and broke?! The customer service people were not helpful and seemed only interested selling me the repair plan to fix what should not need fixing. So, to recap - I bought the machine in 9/13 then went to Florida from 10/13 to 4/14 (so it was used 1 month). Then, it was used from 4/14 until 10/14 (6 months). I returned from Florida this year in April 2015 and it started leaking in June 2015 (2 months). So, my machine has been used for a grand total of 9 months and it is already broken!!! Stay far away. Whirlpool should come and replace this machine for us for free if they care anything about customer service and senior citizens but clearly they do not. In Florida we have an old Sears Kenmore machine that has lasted for over 20 years!!
