I purchased a Whirlpool duet set on sale at Lowes about two years ago. The front loading washer has been leaking when I put in a full load of clothes. It usually floods the floor when it leaks. I am upset and very angry because this leak has ruined the doors to my washer doors. Apparently, the defects with this machine was known by Lowes and the Whirlpool company at the time that I purchased it (thus the sale price). This was not forementioned at the time of purchase. What a lousy way to do business. Whirlpool screwed me. Shame on me. Never again.

I have had my whirlpool top loader washer 2/12 years. There are 3 adults in our household, but we do at least 1 load per day. During a spin cycle we heard a loud bang and then the washer starting spinning very fast. I called for repair and was told the cost was 500.00. Now I must buy a new washer as that cost is excessive and I see this is a common problem. This new washer will not be a whirlpool!!!

Bought this machine June 23, 2016. First use, I called Lowes where I purchased it to say there is something wrong as it makes a grinding noise. I was informed that is normal for agitatorless machines. I asked if he could hear the noise, and he said yes, thats it. So I disconnected thinking, Wow, who makes a machine in todays technology that is so loud you think something or someone is in serious pain?! Now am at the point where I want this design in pain out of my house! Going to Lowes today to try and talk rationally for a complete refund so I can purchase an LG or Samsung which is what I should have done originally.

I bought a dual oven Whirlpool 2 years back. This range keeps breaking knobs that are such a poor quality. I have bought knobs from Whirlpool 7 times already then got PSEG home service and they are tired with the quality itself. Save your money and buy another make! Poor customer service and the worst experience is what I have gained on buying this make. Have old mother at home and this headache only created more issues to help her with cooking.

I purchased their washer, dryer, refrigerator, freezer, oven, and dishwasher. All were brand new when my home was built in 2006. Whirpool is the absolute worst home appliance company in both customer service and product. I would save my money and purchase any product other than a Whirlpool or Maytag. All of my appliances are a little over 5 years old and all have had multiple problems. Corporate takes the attitude of oh well, pay for the multiple repairs or buy new after 5 years or less. Ive never heard of disposable appliances, but Whirlpool has a full line of them! I would rate them less than 1 and just plain **!

Reading the many reviews of malfunctioning washers and other appliances, I wonder why organizations like Consumer Affairs and Consumer Reports do NOT help the many cheated customers form a class action lawsuit or boycott or some other means to effectively organize and force manufacturers to return the full cost of purchase, taxes, shipping, moving and repairs for 5 years for every product. The manufacturer have NO consequences for selling shoddy, malfunctioning but terribly expensive products. We are all being taken for fools by the corporations.I was stupidly brand loyal and bought a Whirlpool Duet front-load washer and dryer because we had to leave our perfectly good 28-yr-old Whirlpool washer when we sold our house. The first set of instruction is to pull the electric cord from a small hole in the back of the washer. No amount of pulling would budge the cord. Finally yanked with all my strength, heard a snapping sound and 12 of cord came out. Then no more pulling, yanking or tugging would produce another inch of cord. So I took off the top of the machine and found the cord tightly wedged in the fork of a plastic thing that looked like part of a stabilizer for the drum.A similar plastic thing on the other side was broken at the fork, the snapping sound I heard. Freed the cord with lots of effort, but it was still firmly stuck way down inside. Removed the back of the machine, found the cord stuck inside a circular thing with one tiny opening. Took lots of time and effort to free the cord from that, but it was still stuck. Finally managed to reach the plug, which was firmly anchored to the bottom of the frame with an orange lanyard. Cut the lanyard with a knife to finally free the cord. This had to be an act of sabotage by an assembly worker, as no way could the cord accidentally jam itself into 3 different places too small for the cord to slip in, and it certainly didnt tie itself to the bottom of the frame with a lanyard. The hour it took to free the cord was just the start of troubles with this machine. It did start and kind of tumbled clothes in an odd fashion, but when it went into spin cycle, it literally jumped all around the room, almost jumping out the door. The whole house shook and I feared the floor would collapse. That machine must weigh well over 100 lbs. even without water and clothes. Next load I tried delicate cycle which had a slow spin cycle.Same result, even worse. I had to wedge my body in the 10 space between washer and dryer and press down with all my 170 lbs. to keep the machine from doing serious damage to the dryer, walls and floor. I contacted seller, Lowes, and they said call Whirlpool. So I did, but no response. Before buying that machine, I read many horrible reviews of Whirlpool Duet machines, but I have only owned 2 washers since 1967, both Whirlpools, so I had strong but stupid brand loyalty.

My Whirlpool washer Cabrio wtw5640xw0 is 2 years old. The computer board is shot, the FOES off balance. To repair would be 554.00 plus tax. I have to say this is the worst washer I have ever bought. I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # WRF990SLAM00 in May of 2013. My wife started noticing ice build up on the ice maker in the refrigerator section of this French Door model. We had it serviced for the same problem 4 times and the problem still existed. At this point, Whirlpool offer to give us our money back, and here is where things got interesting. My wife spoke with a Sheila who was to issue a check to a third party company who would then pick up the refrigerator and give us the check. Sounds simple enough, huh? The company was to get the check in 7-10 business days so we bought a new refrigerator, a Samsung this time, and scheduled its delivery for the time frame we were told the non-functioning fridge would be picked up. My wife could not get in touch with Sheila, which was always a problem, and we talked to a Beth who told us that this whole process had not even been started yet. Well, we are having our new fridge delivered and still waiting on our check and for someone to come and pick up this American-made piece of crap! We wanted to buy American, but this is what we got, a piece of crap!!

Friends and family dont you ever dare to buy a refrigerator from Whirlpool - Best Buy!!! They sold me a defect refrigerator and after 2 months begging to see a technician, they are telling me that they are going to fix it. Im so tired of them trying to fix it. Theyve been here 4 times with no luck. All my food is rotten and frozen. And its a new refrigerator. Gosh. As you can see, the water in the plastic cup that I left in my refrigerator are frozen which is not supposed to happen. I feel that Im dealing with nonsense. They dont care. They just took my money and thats it. Im left with a new defect refrigerator that doesnt work. Ridiculous.

Im disgusted by both Sears and Whirlpool that I have paid top dollar for my Whirlpool Duet Washer model #WFW9400SW01 (along with the matching Whirlpool duet dryer and 15 floor pedestals) at a cost of over $1,000 for the machine, and hundreds of dollars for the Sears master protection service contract. And 5 weeks after first reporting my washer breakdown and lugging my familys laundry to a ‘local’ laundromat located miles away, I still have no imminent hope of seeing a repair. This is the second time the machine has broken down within 5 years. (Dont even ask me about my nightmare with LG dishwashers!) This time the wire harness is the culprit, a part which apparently has been redesigned & which has been on back order indefinitely - all Sears can tell me is it might be available sometime in October. Is it coming from overseas, I ask. No, Delaware, Ive been told. And it could be as long as into November. While they did tell me I could begin to pursue a replacement machine by the 21st day of non-use, I am so weary of the life energy this appliance nightmare is sapping from me simply to resolve this. And Sears and Whirlpool dont seem at all concerned with the massive amounts of junked appliances winding up in our collective landfill as we all tolerate this built-in obsolescence. Besides the obvious wear & tear issue on my wood floors in replacing the machine (the dryer positioned next to it on a pedestal in my cramped powder room/laundry room will also need to be reinstalled in order to get both to fit properly), what about the consummate waste of having these machines reach the end of their life expectancy after a mere 5 years? I wish Id never upgraded our appliances. In the 7 years since we did, our LG dishwasher has failed innumerable times and been replaced multiple times, until we finally replaced multiple versions with a Bosch (so far, so good); our Kenmore Elite range has also failed and needed repair; my washer has died twice. Shouldnt we expect better when we pay top dollar? And if not Consumer Reports, then why isnt the Attorney Generals Office investigating this clear fleecing of the consumer, Sears policy in which sales people aggressively hound consumers like me into purchasing expensive service contracts, making all sorts of unreliable claims and limited time only price quotes. And then when the consumer actually needs a repair, is treated like Im last in a long line of unhappy customers. Maybe if current embattled Sears CEO Edward Lampert had to face weeks of doing his own familys laundry in a laundromat while he waited for a part on backorder from Sears, he might recognize not only a lot of other people waiting on a Sears part there too. But that while on his watch, the Sears name has eroded big-time as he sacrificed quality in his relentless drive for profits.

I bought the Whirlpool Refrigerator wrf989sdam00 in September 2013. Ive had nothing but problems with it breaking down within the first year. 5 days after the first year the 2nd cooling coil stopped working. After several attempts to get some help from the company I paid $500 for the second coil to be replaced. One year later that second coil has broken down once again, called Whirlpool and got nowhere. Ill have to pay another repair company to come in, AGAIN, to repair this piece of junk! Whirlpool does not, will not, has not, stood by their disastrous attempts to produce a refrigerator to keep your foods fresh. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM WHIRLPOOL AS THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR OWN PRODUCTS!!!

Replaced the “brain” twice. No hot water for 2-4 days each time, waiting for part to arrive. Now I have to replace the nylon drain valve because it won’t shut off. Gonna use brass replacement. Fortunately I have it drain to a sump pump so house isn’t flooding. Don’t buy Whirlpool water heater from Lowe’s unless you enjoy this kind of thing. Consolation: the folks at the help line always answer the phone and are knowledgeable. And they’ve heard these same complaints over and over. One guy even said to buy AO Smith as they are made in Tennessee instead of China.

I have a refrigerator model WRT359SFYM00 that is 4 months old. It suddenly just stopped getting cold. Trying to contact Whirlpool warranty/service department has been a nightmare. Once I did get them they spent almost a week trying to locate someone in my area to service it. I was in constant contact with the phone support person, but they kept telling me its out of my hands a special unit was making calls to find a repair person. After almost a week they informed me they could not find anyone but if I could find someone to service it they would reimburse me (max $250 labor). I spent 5 minutes and 1 phone call and I found someone. They wasted a week bumbling around with wanton disregard for their customer. Their service after the sale is deplorable. They are staffed by people who answer calls but have no ability or authority to fix a problem. Worse yet, they kept telling me it was out of their hands. If not in their hands, then whose? I assure you I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance simply based on this warranty experience. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shame on Whirlpool!

I purchased my water heater at Lowes and had it installed professionally. I suspected something was not quite right on numerous occasions because the hot water recovery time seemed excessive. I finally called Whirlpool and they gave me the names and numbers of two companies that were on their list. The first asked for the model number and normal information and never called back. The second showed up spent five minutes charged me 78 dollars and said they could not get the part (gas valve) I needed. And if I could get it from Whirlpool they would charge me 250 to put it on. They also said Whirlpool made horrible water heaters and I should save myself the trouble and just replace it. I have since heard from additional plumbers and the gas company to stay away from Whirlpool. I did have the water heater replaced. When they did it and they drained the old water heater it had so much sludge in it draining it was very difficult. The sludge is mystery since I have a softener in my home and it should have prevented that. The individual from that gas company said that was just one of the many issue others had experienced with these heaters.

If I could give them zero stars I would. NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL GAS WATER HEATER! Our Whirlpool water heater Is 4 years old. Pilot light wont stay lit. A reputable plumber came out and said that the control knob is bad and to call Whirlpool to get part because its still under warranty. So I call and get nothing but a hassle. They tried to tell me that it was installed in a room that the installation manual says it not to be in. (Background here. The house was built in 1960. It is on a cement slab and its a prefab house.) The manual says Do not install in bathrooms, bedrooms or any OCCUPIED room normally kept closed. Now let me tell you where it is at. It is in a 5 by 3 boxed area with cement floor and walls to the ceiling with access doors to it and to the furnace which is also in this area. The access door to water heater is on the back side of a bedroom closet, access door to furnace is in a hall. So Whirlpool tells me that they cant give me the part Even if I pay for it due to some national fuel and gas code. They wont even tell me where I could buy the part... They said the only way they can help me is if I relocate the water heater or put in a ventless water heater. Our water heater is vented thru the roof of house... It gets plenty of ventilation. They wouldnt let me talk to a supervisor to complain... So this is why I am on here writing this review. I might add this is not our first issue with Whirlpool. Had a brand new KitchenAid refrigerator with ice maker. The ice maker didnt work from first day. After 3 techs and 3 visits it still doesnt work. Then also the compressor went out. If you want a better product and want good customer service then dont buy Whirlpool.Oh and one more thing. Our plumber also doesnt like Whirlpool. He said he had problems every time when he has to deal with them. He said its to the point when someone calls for services and tells him its a Whirlpool he just cringes. Now thats pretty bad. I just spent 4 almost 5 hours of my morning upset to the point of tears. With no results. Another note. I called my gas company. They said our water heater is in a safe place. If it wasnt they wouldnt be supplying gas to us. Live and learn. Done with Whirlpool.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer 6 years ago. This washer has been such a terrible appliance, I would not recommend that anyone buy one. The top of the washer has broken 2 times. Whirlpool will do nothing about it. It is a manufacturers defect where the glass pops out of the top and then breaks the frame it is in. We had it replaced last year and the new one is now broken - same problem. It also does not get clothes clean and the clothes get ruined because they become all entangled in one another. Today, after five years of washing items in the Whirlpool Cabrio top-loading, HE washer; I am taking the time to express just how poorly this machines operates. Clothes do not get clean, dish towels with dried food still have food on them, and towels get holes. If I wash items with sand after going to the beach, the dryer vent has to catch all of the sand that was never washed out. Rust has developed on the inside and drips down to ruin clothes. I would take back my previous washer with the agitator that was over twenty years old in a heartbeat. When we needed a new dryer, we went ahead and bought a matching washer. Painful decision!

These machines are designed to clean your clothes by rubbing them together
These machines are designed to clean your clothes by rubbing them together which they attempt to do in a minute amount of water. They destroy the fabric, pull the seam out of shape, wrinkle them beyond the point of wearable, do not get them clean and do not get all the detergent out. I have had clothes come out partially dry. They also do not dilute the fabric softener, leaving unremovable stains on your clothes. In addition, they take forever to do a load of clothes even without the extra rinse you need if you want any hope of getting the clothes rinsed. The dryer is the slowest dryer I have ever had. The steam refresh that is supposed to get the hideous wrinkles out of your clothes does not put steam into the dryer. Instead, it sets the dryer to the highest heat so that those clothes you did not want on high heat are now getting it; then it shoots bursts, yes large bursts, of water on them. Your clothes come out a combination of still wrinkles and wet. If you hear of a class action suit, please contact me. These machines should be recalled.

DOES NOT MEET CONSUMER NEEDS AS PROMISED. I wish I read the reviews. Very expensive machine I purchased specifically for the large drum for large loads. The machine cannot handle large loads (if you consider one blanket large load). I have to unplug the machine mid wash, as the load gets stuck on one side and moves my machine across the floor. The noise in the spin cycle with even small amount of laundry sounds like a helicopter is about to land. Then last night I noticed black oil splattered all over my floor. This is a $800.00 machine. So we called to have it looked at. The repairman said if it is slow, switch it to fast ice. It made ice even slower, but the repair company said if it is making ice, and he comes out, we would be charged. So we lived with it. In 2014 it stopped making ice at all. We called they sent someone out and said it was a control board. They had to order it, and came back a week later to put it in. They left and said we would have ice soon. Never did!!!So we call again, they come out and said no power to ice maker. He called Whirlpool and they said wires in the freezer door were worn and broke. Well the door is non-serviceable and the cost of the door will exceed the price of the fridge! What kind of crap is that!! Long story short I will never buy another whirlpool again, and when I hear of someone buying new appliances I warn them to stay away from whirlpool!!! Run!!!

I bake a lot so my husband bought me a new gas range for our 54th anniversary. After the first few times I used the oven, I decided to clean it. I noticed then that there were some burnt grease spots and streaks between the oven glass door. After 2 years of use, it has gotten much worse so I decided to take the door apart to try to clean the glass in between the layers of glass but there are three instead of two. I cleaned the inside of the outer glass, but that didnt take care of the problem. Most of the stains are between the other two panes of glass. That, I cant get to. I feel that this is poor design and not sealed properly. I take good care of everything I own and I expected this range to last me the rest of my life but it is put together with cheap plastic parts that wont last long. It is the first new range that I ever owned and paid a lot more for it than any Ive had. I expected better.

Whirlpool Refrigerator Model WRX9885IBM01 French Doors - We purchased this
Whirlpool Refrigerator Model WRX9885IBM01 French Doors - We purchased this $2,000+ dollar refrigerator in December of 2014 and within two weeks of plugging it in, we noticed the freezer drawer was crooked and ice crystals in the freezer compartment. We contacted Whirlpool re the matter and they dispatched a local serviceman. He informed us that the inner lining of the refrigerator was crooked and he contacted Whirlpool. He sent pictures of the crooked drawers and was advised by Whirlpool to adjust the outside door, but nothing could be done for the inside crookedness and that he was to take silicone and seal the refrigerator to prevent air coming in to create the ice... Really? We told him that was merely a Band-Aid to the problems and we wanted a replacement. According to Whirlpool, they can only service our month old refrigerator and cannot replace it.Actually, they cannot even service the defective product they sell, they can only caulk the problem until it comes again. I am not going to stop until everybody in the country buying a refrigerator thinks first about the warranty Whirlpool offers. After reading defective parts, etc., I am amazed they are still in business! We are contacting Lowes to come pick it up! Let them deal with the garbage they are selling!

When I grew up, my mom and dad had a Whirlpool dishwasher and it was the ONLY dishwasher we EVER had. The SAME one, for over 20 years! So, with confidence, I purchased a mid-range unit. (over $600 2015). By 2016, ONE year later, I was already buying replacement parts because the top rack was falling apart and the bottom spinner broke as well. The parts were extremely expensive and hard to find. Now, a mere 4 years later, you cannot find ANY parts for this machine and there are so many issues with the unit. It is no longer functioning. When it did work it ran for 4 HOURS!! Even then, the dishes are filthy. I am so upset by whirlpool. I want a full refund from the company for treating their loyal customer so badly.

I bought a glass top stove model number W10221843A. My son dropped a plastic cup on the top of the stove. It put a hole and shattered it. Now remind you, it was plastic. I barely use this side of the stove, so not like it was weak. I paid a lot of money for this product just for a plastic cup to destroy it. Is there any recall on this stove? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Purchased this Upright freezer model 160NZTQ02 approximately 2 years ago. Freezer had problems maintaining temperature from the beginning. Noticed it freezing up at air vents in back of interior. Unplugged, removed contents, and let defrost by ambient temperature (approximately 4 hours). After using this method for first three defrost periods (approximately two weeks apart) I began defrosted with hair dryer, then moved on to heat gun. Bottom line is this junk wont hold temperature and freezes up every few days to a week. No more Whirpool for me.

I used their website to schedule an appointment for an estimate for a repair on my oven. I was never told they were sending an independent contractor to do the repair nor that there would be a charge for the estimate. I contacted Whirlpool and was told there is nothing on their website and I should have asked the service technician before he was at my door if there would be a charge. Therefore, it was my fault and I indeed had to pay the charge when I declined to have my oven repaired. I paid an independent contractor hired by Whirlpool for $129 to give me an estimate on the repair to my oven despite never being told of such a charge prior to the appointment.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer and dryer a couple of years ago and have disliked the washer from the first wash. I have followed the instructions on how to load the washer which, first of all, takes more time than any other washer I have ever had to load. Second, the clothes come out so wrapped around each other that its almost impossible to separate them. They are wrinkled to the point that the dryer cant even de-wrinkle them, and some have even been damaged. Third, the load doesnt smell fresh even though I have cleaned the washer as instructed. I agree with every negative review I have read on this product, and have been so disappointed with this purchase that I will never buy any Whirlpool product again.

We have a wtw5500xw2 washing machine we bought 03/2012. We can no longer use it. The machine would not spin or agitate so the clothes do not get clean or get the water out and after the cycle is done we have to wring them out after to be able to take them to the laundromat. So two repair companies and 3 months later we find out that it is the wiring harness that is the culprit. After a new motor and a shift actuator, we contacted Whirlpool only to be advised that the washing machine is out of warranty and that we are out of luck. If the company has a known issue about these wiring harness they should be looking into it and changing suppliers or offering to replace the wiring harness at a discount to its customers. I will not be buying a Whirlpool appliance ever again. I would recommend going with a Kenmore. I have had a Kenmore dryer that I got 19 yrs ago that we got used and only had to replace the heating element.

Cant get an answer from anyone but find the warrant on the Whirlpool website that nobody seems to know anything about. A $2500 fridge turning into a $3700 fridge should of spent the money and bought wolf appliances. Very disappointed in Whirlpool customer service or lack thereof and their knowledge of their own warranty and website. Be aware of this fridge and Whirlpool in general and not make the same mistake. Purchased side-by-side 3 weeks ago. There are 2 adults and 1 kid in my household and the ice maker in the unit does not put out enough ice to handle our small demand, though this was never an issue with the 14 year old Whirlpool that this one replaced! We are using ice trays to supplement what ice the ice maker puts out but the ice trays take up valuable freezer space. Their service reps have inspected it and tell me that it is performing per the specs and when I ask for what the remedy is, there is none... ie. too bad, so sad!! I am apparently on my own with a brand new refrigerator with an ice maker that wont perform up to minimum expectations!

The repair tech said it was it could be three different things. He was going to order all three parts. Three weeks later, they came to repair it. It still didn’t work and I hate to wait two different days (all day) for service. First day, he didn’t make it so had to schedule for next week. He replaced the other two parts. First twice the frame that holds the crisper drawers broken. We bought parts and fixed worked for only short time. Second we bought extended warranty from Home Depot for 5 years. At about 4.5 years ice maker started freezing up. The valve that controls the amt of water that goes in was broken. Had it fixed under warranty. Started having a little problem with it in a couple months. Lasted 8 months. Broke again. Froze up. Had to pound on ice maker compartment door to get open. Once again water overflowed. Froze everything up. Called. Of course our of warranty now expired. Called the guy that put the ice maker repair parts in. The part under warranty but now I have to pay for labor and them coming out to look at it. Now why would I want to put another defective ice maker in. I called Whirlpool. They didn’t care. We have many Maytag appliances in our home but they will be the last. The appliances they make now are cheaply made.

We purchased a 4 piece set of Whirlpool kitchen appliances and have minor to major problems with 3 out of the 4. We had problems with our gas range/oven from the start. When I called to register the brand new range they told me it had been previously registered to someone else and they made me fax my receipt to them proving that the appliance was purchased new. Lowes said it was brand new in the box when I purchased it leading me to believe Whirlpool tried to pass off a refurbished product onto Lowes and then onto us. No surprise when the stove stopped working 3 times in barely over a year. It was so defective Lowes ended up replacing it for us. Not Whirlpool... they only argued with me about how the third time it was out of warranty and offered no help in fixing or replacing the defective oven. Now our ice maker just stopped dispensing ice 7 days after our warranty expired on our refrigerator model # WRS586FLDM00. Whirlpool will only agree to cover parts and is sticking us with the service call and labor! And thats not all... the plastic coating on the dishwasher racks started coming off exposing rusty metal when it was barely over a year old and I have received a postcard indicating there is a lawsuit involving our model for overheating and fire events! Now waiting for that to be our next issue. I am so disgusted with Whirlpool. We bought Whirlpool appliances believing they were quality products. They are quite the opposite. Wish I had researched their reputation and history of complaints before buying. Do not recommend Whirlpool Brand. Sincerely, Disgusted in California

Whirlpool - Back in the 1980s we had Whirlpool appliances that lasted for many, many years. We are now in our mid 60s and retired. We purchased a new home 2-1/2 years ago. Whirlpool appliances were provided with our new home. We were quite pleased at the time. However, we are now sorry we have them.We are very easy on everything we own. When we replace appliances, cars, furniture, etc. we are generally able to sell our used items, which are always in great condition. Unfortunately, this is not the case with our current appliances. I will list the many problems.Combo range hood/microwave oven: it vented absolutely nothing. The microwave oven had its own set of just plain silly issues with the manner in which the touchpad had to be set. The oven did at least work. 2/2013 we had a Broan range hood installed and vented to the outside and purchased a Whirlpool countertop microwave oven. Again we had the little issues with using the touchpad plus the door was very hard to open. This countertop microwave oven failed 1/2015, less than a year of usage. At this time we purchased a Panasonic microwave that is much simpler to use.The Smooth-top range/oven looks nice. It is the most inconsistent range/oven we have ever owned. You cannot lower the cooktop burners to simmer. There is no simmer. On that setting it may as well be turned off. I can set it at about 9 oclock on the dial and some days that may be simmer. Others days it could be higher. Overall, the burners have no consistency. The oven cools quickly and I must be mindful not to toss in a 2nd sheet of cookies without checking the temperature. I have never had to do this on any other oven we have owned. The dishwasher does clean my dishes, thank goodness. However, I have had 2 service calls (under warranty) for a little gasket (hinge pad) which keeps the door propped a bit while loading the silverware into the basket. This piece has failed a third time I will just live without being able to prop the door. And then there is the silverware basket. Each piece must be loaded, handle first, into the slots on the basket. Of course, some of my silverware has wider handles so this does not work well. Such a poor design. The refrigerator was my pride and joy. We paid the extra charge for the French door style instead of the side-by-side style that came with the house. My charges here are more serious. 2 of the little door shelves have broken. Oddly enough these are small shelves which have some items on them that are not used often. If I choose to replace them, it will cost me over 25.00 for each of these little gems. Now, a piece of plastic on the veggie drawer has broken so I must be mindful not to let the drawer drop.Worst of all was the last service call out of warranty. I had standing water/ice on the floor of the freezer. Apparently this was due to a poor design and my service man replaced it with a new P-Trap that actually works. Yes, the original design was bad, yet I still had to pay for the replacement. Seems like this should have been a recall and replaced free of charge. Instead my total charge was 144.06. UGH!!! Now, I do understand I was likely provided bottom of the line appliances with my new home, but to have issues with all of them is ridiculous.

We bought a Whirlpool model GC5SHAXVY01 side by side. The ice maker had problems within the first month, and they continued until the following year. Finally, the ice maker was deemed irreparable. Whirlpool worked with us, and we got a replacement for $600.00. The replacement had been in our home 3 months, when we realized it was leaking water. The guest room behind the fridge, had water soaked carpet, and molds growing on the baseboard. The hardwood under the fridge had been water soaked, and could not be dried by professional machines running 24 hours a day for 4 days. Oh the noise! The guest room carpet was pulled out with the baseboard immediately, and today, they are ripping out the hardwood affected in the kitchen. We called the CEOs office at Whirlpool to tell them. The answer was talk to our legal department. We are very angry. This has been very disruptive and upsetting. The floor is black under the hardwood. We are now awaiting the drying machines to come in for 3 days, and waiting to learn about what appears to be black mold. Be careful, and good luck if you buy from Whirlpool.

Cabrio washing machine WTW8600YW0 - Had this washer for 3 years. Its been repaired a few times, but this last time theyve replaced the bearings 3 times and it only lasts less than 1 week. This $1000 washer is now going on the trash. I tried to get help from WP, to no avail. There is a reason these are only warranted 1 year. One thing I liked about it: the fast spin speed gets clothes drier. Every other aspect is crap. Cleans very poorly. You cant make it use enough water. The tub looks huge because it doesnt have a conventional agitator. But if you put much in there you will end up rewashing in small loads because then it REALLY cleans poorly. I bought this because my trusted appliance store owner buddy said he owned one. When I asked him lately he doesnt talk much except admits that yes they have had a LOT of trouble with these machines. The life is very short on them. The wonderful fast spin speed destroys the light bearings quickly. And it gets worse the more its worked on. Its a disposable $1000 piece of trash. Im an engineer, and whoever designed this should have his degree revoked. The type of agitator it has and the extreme low water is very hard on your clothes. One zipper left loose will shred your clothes. I wanted to love the thing, but I have to hate it because it is unrepairable. If you could control the water and if it lasted at least 5 years without having to rebuild it several times at greater cost than it was purchased for, I might be less than rabidly angry at WP. They know they are junk but dont care. You have few choices as they now own most brands, and they know this. I have a Speed Queen on order. Just a plain old simple washer.

I Wish I had reviewed this refrigerator sooner. I bought a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser in the door in 2016. Problem #1: Water leaks from the water dispenser and dribbles down the front of the door. I am as vigilant as I can be about wiping up the spills, but over time it has left a water stain. Stainless steel is not stainless! Problem #2: The freezer is too narrow. Too many frozen items that come packaged in boxes have to be wedged into it or stood on end. Problem #3: Ice cubes sometimes randomly drop out of the dispenser and melt on my hardwood floor. Problem #4: Even though the water is filtered, mineral deposits have built upon the well that collects the drips and I have yet to find any product that cleans it. It looks horrible and filthy. If Id had any idea how awful this appliance would look after just a couple of years, I would have been in contact with Whirlpool immediately.

I purchased a Whirlpool top load 8500 washing machine from LOWEs two years ago. I noticed that the clothes were not getting wet, clean, were coming out covered in lint, soap film and stained. It is misleading to call it a HE washer since I have to wash each load 3 - 4.5 hours. It is NOT energy efficient if you have to wash each load of clothes 3 times with a rinse. I have tried all of the tricks - changing soaps, labeling the wash as bulky, wetting the clothes to add weight... Washing clothes should not be this complicated. The clothes are sorted appropriately and washed in the right temperature. I do not understand what is staining the clothes. I put new white towels in and they come out stained (see photo)? Lowes sent out a repairman who said the machine would never clean the clothes since there was not enough water in the washing machine to wash the clothes. I tried to return the washer to Lowes but they said it was past the 30 days. Unfortunately, I purchased the appliances on a Lowes credit card so there was no recourse. I then contacted Whirlpool and was put on hold and transferred to various people before I gave up.

I received a call the day after and was told the same thing; that they are sorry we are experiencing a problem but the warranty only covers the first year. I was told that if there was a problem with the plastic being inferior that they should have cracked in the first year. I responded that the cracks may have been occurring early on in the back of the refrigerator which is the coldest part but were noticeable. Its very frustrating because a refrigerator purchase is expensive and not something that I planned on doing a mere 5 years later. I believe that Whirlpool at the very least could have shown goodwill towards their customers and given at least some discount on the replacement parts or at the very least a certificate with an amount off toward the purchase of a new refrigerator. Its a win-win situation for everyone because the customer is still happy with their Whirlpool refrigerator and/or it guarantees repeat business for Whirlpool. Apparently Whirlpool doesnt care about keeping customers happy and want and/or need repeat business. Its the last Whirlpool I will ever purchase!!!

Have had mine for 21 years. Okay, the soap dispenser door would not stay shut after about 19 years. No real problem, just placed the dishwasher tablet on the bottom of a mug on top shelf. Now the timer sticks and has to be rotated manually. I think after 21 years, it is time to replace it with another Whirlpool. This one owes me nothing for 21 years service.

We purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer due to the companys past reputation and our own past experience with Whirlpool appliances fully expecting to receive great performance and durability. We have had the pair just about 2 years and the washer started experiencing problems during the spin cycle. The unit would get out of balance easily and then it would stop without spinning, leaving the clothes very wet. Well, as our past experience had indicated to us the washer is usually much more reliable than the dryer, or thats the way it had been for us. So we only purchased the extended warranty on the dryer. Not being covered on the washer we located a local technician and he promptly diagnosed the problem as the transmission failed causing the noisy bearing and the failure of the unit to spin properly. Our tech quickly repaired the unit but this failure disappointed me to the point of contacting Whirlpool. Thats where I came upon this site and saw the multitude of complainers with the same type of problems and some that are worse than ours. Our purpose in this review is to add to the 1100 or more reviews that report the same kind of issues. We are now in the same mindset as the 1100. Will we ever buy another Whirlpool? Probably not, especially since it doesnt look like Whirlpool wants to stand with their customers to make it right. Customer support is just as important to us as the reliability we seek. I would much rather spend a bit more in the price than replace or repair the unit after the purchase. A little economics lesson for our friends at Whirlpool is that if you abandon your 1100 customers you will save about $440,000.00, but those 1100 will tell everyone they know of their problems with that product and as a result many thousands will never purchase a Whirlpool. So if we all influence 5 of our friends not to buy, then 1100 X 5 = 5500 people X an average price of $800 which equals about 4.4 million dollars of lost sales. Seems like a no brainer to want to stand behind your customers. We dont believe that any washing machine on the market should fail after a few months to 2 years. These products should be built to last many years and the maker of these products should have that goal.

We too have nothing but problems with our supposedly top of the line convection/microwave oven. Purchased in 2010 in February for new kitchen. From start, original microwave installed did not work, would not cook or heat. Dealer replaced. One year later, same problem, but now out of warranty. Had to pay labor, costs, and parts to get fixed. Fast forward 13 months, again magnetron needs replaced, microwave will not work. What a hunk of junk for our money. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliances again, and I will tell everyone I know the same. When you call customer service, they are nice but only say “too bad, out of warranty”. What a joke for a major appliance company to tell customers. It is obvious that this microwave is faulty from the get go, and they just keep on making them the same way and not trying to fix the problem.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer and Dryer. The control panel on the washer went out in March. We called for a repair. The repairman came, told us we needed to replace the control panel and he would order it. My American Express was charged $389.91 on March 26th. I called today, April 9, asking about where the part was and when my machine would be repaired. I was told the part would not be available until July 11, 2013. I cannot believe that a company would expect a customer to wait nearly four months for a part as well as charge them for the parts and labor four months ahead of the part. When I called, I was first told that there were 15 parts in stock, but then was told that there were not any available to me. I have cancelled the service but it will take them three weeks to credit my card back for the part.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer brand new from Lowes. It did great for about 6 months when a terrible grinding noise started. Then it also would not spin dry the clothes - they would come out completely soaked. Repair guy came out and fixed it. Lasted for about 1 year - same thing again. Lasted about 1.5 years this time and now the loud grinding is back and my wife - who Ive heard cuss just a couple times in 20+ years - said, This ** thing sucks. The clothes are soaked. I cant stand this washing machine. So, Off we go to buy a new machine. Definitely not a Whirlpool though. Id give this machine 1 star because it does a decent job for a while but major repairs 3 times in five years is not what I deem an acceptable appliance.

Bought Whirlpool refrigerator in October 2014, model WDT710PAYH6. Ice maker never worked right and then started leaking water. A month later it is still not fixed even though it is supposed to be under warranty. I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and stove at that same time -- both of those needed to be replaced right out of the box! Called Whirlpool and they wont replace. Only referred me to a different repair company. Meanwhile it is leaking all over the floor. Now I see all these complaints for the same issue, yet the Whirlpool rep says they know nothing of this problem! I have a brand new Whirlpool matching microwave that sits uninstalled. I am wondering if I should even bother. I bought expensive new appliances to avoid the hassle of older items possibly breaking down -- and I have never been more frustrated in my life.

Whirlpool Range Model XFE381LVS - 12/13/2014 4:30PM Wife was cooking dinner and turned oven on. Smoke started coming out of the back and called me. I ran to the breaker panel and turned off the breaker. Back to the stove, pulled it out and smoke still coming out in back at the top. I could see fire in the top of the back panel. Slowly the fire went out. Unplugged the stove, I removed the back panel, wires were still smoldering and the Control panel was burned thru. Took pictures so I could contact Whirlpool Monday. The Electrical control panel is destroyed as well as many wires. Glad we were home and oven was not left on while we were out in the yard or Home could have been destroyed. Purchased the stove from Lowes 11/02/2010 with a extended warranty. Tried to add receipt but would not accept, wrong type doc.

We purchased our Whirlpool Cabrio platinum washer about 3 years ago. I am completely frustrated with it. When it is on spin cycle, it sounds like a freight train going through my house. During the rest of the washing... it squeaks. And right now this is the 5th attempt to wash the same load of laundry. Because it keeps getting unlevel and it will not continue after I move the clothes around to get it level. So I have to start all over. There is not a spin cycle option that is available by itself. Every time I have to choose the rinse/drain/spin option. Obviously it is not under warranty anymore! Only a one year warranty... really pathetic! And when we called they offered us a little discount to buy another one. No thank you!!! Wont ever buy Whirlpool again.

This refrigerator (Model #wrf560seymoo, Serial # VS31343718) was new in April 2013. In the last 3 years it has required 3 service repairs. Two under the extended warranty, one recent one 3 months out of warranty. All repairs came up in the last 3 years. The first repair addressed frost build up in the freezer. The second required replacement of the water filter compartment and the third will be addressing water dripping from the freezer door when I open it. Even after turning off the ice maker and removing the frozen puddle from the bottom of the freezer, it still drips water when I open the door. I have a call into service on this right now. I would like the company to fix the current issue even though it is outside of warranty. This product is too new to have so many problems and be just over 5 years old.

So loud that when we are watching TV in the bedroom we have to close the door! It continued to get louder and more frequent so I called Sears. It is under warranty so they sent a repairman out. When he came, he said it was because we had the refrigerator too cold & it was causing ice to be stuck around the fan??? We had it at 5 and the coldest is 7... He suggested we put it on 3. 2 days later and it is making the same noise again. Will be calling Sears again. I saw a similar review saying the same thing!!!! This is a five month old refrigerator! We decided to upgrade to the Whirlpool Cabrio Elite set after 20 years of having the same washer and dryer. Yes, they were still working after 20 years, but we wanted the bigger and better and shinier appliances when we bought our new house. The dryer is fine. Dries a load in 38 minutes. The washer is a regular POS that never should have been put on the market. The best thing about this washer is that it has a transparent lid that allows you to watch your laundry getting dirtier as it washes. Its less than a year old so I havent had the problems with the bearings and such yet, but as far as cleaning, it DOES NOT DO THE JOB! My blacks have white residue on them EVERY SINGLE time I wash them. I end up washing/rinsing/rinsing my darks which definitely defeats the save water function. A regular load takes an hour to wash, and then another hour to rewash, which definitely isnt time saving. My whites are grey and often come out with the same dirt on them as they had going in. Im talking about dirt that you can scrape off with your fingernail, which tells me that they arent even getting wet, nevermind washed. The large capacity is a myth, since-- as per instructions--you can only line the dirty clothes around the centre hub without covering the little silver bump in the centre, or else the clothes wont come clean. This wastes a large amount of capacity. In a nutshell, your darks will come out dirtier, your whites will come out dingier, you waste more water from rewashing, you waste more time and electricity due to long wash cycle and rewashing. I will never buy another Whirlpool ANYTHING again.

This is the information I tried to send to Whirlpool only to get a message that it was undeliverable: I purchased a set of whirlpool cabrio washer and dryer on 10-23-2013 (model numbers WTW8540BW, and WED8500BW). On 01-25-15 the washing machine failed to power up just over 2 months out of the standard warranty. This wasnt the low end cheap models. With cash discounts we paid over $1600.00 for the set. After a $70.00 dollar charge to the repairman we are told that the unit has a bad electric control board (part # W10761026). And unfortunately the part is on back order until March 1st, 2015 as of right now. So if and when the repairman gets the part and installs it, I get to pay him an additional $260.00. My family has always been such a dedicated Whirlpool appliance purchaser but this is wrong.Oh I almost forget, now I have to rent a washing machine at a cost of $55.00 per month until mine is repaired. I believed I was purchasing Whirlpool quality. The type of quality that doesnt need an extended warranty because Whirlpool is made to last correct? Please assist me in making this situation right and restore my faith in the quality I was raised with in Whirlpool products.

Multiple issues with this two-year-old refrigerator. Do not buy! The exterior stainless steel doors rust in sporadic locations. According to a quick google search, it is a widely known issue that Whirlpool has not addressed. We have never used abrasive cleaners, only wipes that are made for stainless appliances. We use them on all of our stainless appliances. The fridge is the only one that now has 10+ areas of pitting rust. It continues to spread! What the heck?Secondly, the ice maker stopped working at 16 months. First it was just the auger that stopped turning. Which was inconvenient but not the end of the world. It still produced ice, but we had to open the door and pull ice out instead of having it dispensed. Now it has stopped producing ice altogether. We had the repair guy out today. Apparently, the motor for the auger and the actual ice maker are not receiving power any longer. The certified tech said it was either the main control board or bad wiring somewhere from the control board to the ice maker. For a small fortune, we can try putting in a new board. If the new board doesnt work, we will then know it is a wiring issue. If it is a wiring issue, we will have paid for a new board that was not needed, and we are out of luck completely on the wiring issue. Part of the wiring is sealed within the freezer door. A new freezer door costs nearly as much as the fridge. Part of the wiring is sealed in the back of the fridge. It is impossible to open the seal without breaking the fridge, because the back is a sealed system. But it does keep our food cold. Just dont put anything the top shelf of the fridge because it will freeze. Thanks for the 1 year warranty Whirlpool! You timed it perfectly! What a joke.

This is a comment for the person with the ice maker problem. I have a side-by-side, in-door ice dispenser that clogs up. First sign of problem is either the ice wont come out or it comes out crushed. What happens is frost builds up in the path the ice takes at a couple of different points. The only solution I have found is as soon as the problem starts I turn off the ice maker using the switch on the inside of the freezer. Then let it empty with normal use (if you wait too long youve increased your problems). The release button for the ice bin has frozen by now so you cant just lift it out. The bin needs to be empty. When it is empty, work the bin loose and take it out. Youll find that frost and maybe cubes have collected, frozen and blocked the passage. Be sure to turn the ice bin on its side and spray water into the undercarriage to melt and remove all the ice build up there. I use a hot sponge to melt the frost in the ice tube and then dry everything. This gets messy so be prepared to have water on the floor. Dry the ice bin and reinstall it. Ice cubes will be ready to drop from the ice maker so it wont be long until you have plenty. I live in Florida with high humidity so need to go through this process about once a month. Its a pain, but now it is just part of owning this unit. Good luck and hope this helps.

Then on the other hand, there are times when the clothes come out soaking wet, like it never went through the spin cycle. (We know it did because its super loud!) Recently, it started shutting off during the wash cycle. Sometimes, it doesnt release the soap or the fabric softener. I am so frustrated with this machine. There should be a recall. We purchased a Whirlpool French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator on July 14, 2014. Price $2,139.99. We chose Whirlpool because they have always manufactured and stood behind their products. Hah! We will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product or even a product made by Whirlpool. The refrigerator quit cooling over a week ago. After calling Whirlpool service center they set up an appointment for a service call. The repairman came out said it was the refrigerator fan motor and another piece. He tried to order both but was told the parts would have to come from Lakeland, Florida and it would take about 5 days or so to receive them. We called Whirlpool. After being on the phone forever they finally said they would overnight the part to our home address then we should call the repairman to make a return visit. We received the parts last Thursday, called the repairman and he couldnt make it out here until today. When he got here and started to replace the part he discovered Whirlpool had sent the wrong fan motor. He called Whirlpool and they said the part was on back order and it would be shipped in 5 plus days or so. Both my husband and I talked with Whirlpool and the only thing they were willing to do is if they find the part they will ship it overnight then we would have to call the repairman and schedule another service call. They did say if we found the part they would reimburse us for the part. They wouldnt talk with us about replacing the fridge, etc. I will be out of a refrigerator for what looks like 2 plus weeks and this is not acceptable service from a company like Whirlpool. Pretty much everything in our fridge has gone bad. Whirlpool is not even willing to compensate us for our loss of food. They said all they could was offer us a 6 month extended warranty. We are completely unhappy with their service or rather lack thereof.
