Six warranty visits and the fridge still doesnt work. Cools to around 44 degrees in the upper part and lower part barely freezes. We have gotten sick from food left in the fridge after two days from the grocery store. It is now approaching two months without the use of our new refrigerator. DO NOT buy a Whirlpool. Apparently there was a manufacturing defect. We are now learning that a $2,400 fridge doesnt seem to be able to be fixed by factory-trained specialists.

On July 19, I was forced to buy a new washer. Bought a Frigidaire which, when connected to the water supply, started immediately dumping water into the drum. Sent this defective washer back to the retailer and chose a new Whirlpool. O-M-I-G-O-S-H! It was delivered on 25 July and despite having 4 temperature settings, it only worked on either hot or cold AND you could never tell what temperature was going to be chosen by this computerized wonder. I repeatedly called Customer Support and received three different answers on what temperature was considered warm. The answers ranged from 65 to 102 degrees. Also, you could open the lid when the water was running in, which washers are no longer supposed to do. Whirlpool then arranged for A & D Service to come and repair my NEW washer and scheduled an appointment for a week later. I was forced to call that company to find out if they were even coming. When they did not show as promised, I cancelled the appointment and called Whirlpool to ask for another service company. They then scheduled me for two weeks later (now August 30th). The guy did come and told me there was user error - I had used too much soap as this was an HE washer. I asked him to show me where on the appliance and in the owners manual that it stated the washer was an HE. He couldnt find it either and said he would replace the computer and the door lock because his computer found that the washer was hit and miss on anything it was set on. At any rate, it is a little over a week later and I have heard nothing from the repairman and, of course, no follow-up from Whirlpool. Do not make the mistake of buying any Whirlpool product, and that now encompasses names such as Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, Kitchen-Aid and many more if you want to be assured of a quality product and excellent customer service. What if this had been a refrigerator? The whole debacle has been a nightmare. Wish I had bought a GE!

In the last year, I have had to put in two sets of parts to my Whirlpool water heater (thermocouple) within three months in between each malfunction. Now the hot water is out again, and I need to have a plumber come and reapply new parts to the hot water heater. Whirlpool is refusing to send new parts to the less than a year old hot water heater until they speak with my plumber. It was purchased in December 2011. I am a disabled senior citizen, and we have not had hot water in over a week. Meanwhile, the weather is in the teens and has been snowing. I live alone and have not been able to wash dishes, take showers or mop my floor. Being a diabetic, cleanliness is very important to maintain good health. Living on Social Security, I cannot afford to replace my water heater parts every few months and my health cannot afford to not have hot water. Model number for this Whirlpool water heater is N30T61-303; the product number is 0733315.

Bought this machine June 23, 2016. First use, I called Lowes where I purchased it to say there is something wrong as it makes a grinding noise. I was informed that is normal for agitatorless machines. I asked if he could hear the noise, and he said yes, thats it. So I disconnected thinking, Wow, who makes a machine in todays technology that is so loud you think something or someone is in serious pain?! Now am at the point where I want this design in pain out of my house! Going to Lowes today to try and talk rationally for a complete refund so I can purchase an LG or Samsung which is what I should have done originally.

My experience w/ Whirlpool has been disastrous. Whatever you do read the reviews on products before purchasing, do your homework first before purchasing any major appliance. Whirlpool company and its employees are a joke. We are paying consumers and spent our hard earned dollars to support a company that could care less about us and our problems with their products they sell to us which are a piece of crap. I purchased a refrigerator made by Whirlpool from hhgregg in Oct 2015, which took 2 months to get it delivered. The refrigerator is not a year old yet, and cannot get anyone to come out to repair it. I have called Whirlpool numerous times, and so have my husband to come and repair a refrigerator that is less than a year old.The ice maker stopped working. Then I came home and discovered that the refrigerator is not cool, and everything in the bottom freezer had almost thawed out, and a repairman was supposed to come on August 31, 2016. It has been hot as Hades, during August, Sept, in the high 90s and they had the nerve to call and say they had to order the icemaker and when it came in someone would be out to fix it. I called the company in Maryland to find out what part did they order because a technician hadnt been out at this point to determine what part needed to be replaced. I called Whirlpool, and yes was put on hold for 45 minutes each time, and when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that the manager said I could call a repairman and they would reimburse me up to $150.00. I replied That that is not my job. Your job is to send a repairman to fix it.The name of the company that they gave me and the phone number is located in Maryland, I live in the state of Virginia past Richmond, 3 hours away. Then I was told by the company in Maryland that they dont have technicians to Repair Whirlpool Refrigerators. This is totally unacceptable. It is Sept 19, and since August no one from Whirlpool has been out to fix it, neither have they tried to rectify the problem. Bottom Line, DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT, not from hhgregg, Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, anywhere because this is how they treat customers. I have an 88 year old Aunt that lives with us that were responsible for, and she cant even get a glass of ice cold water from a brand new refrigerator thats still under warranty. Whats wrong with this picture?

Whirlpool, shame on you! I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio pair from Best Buy in 2008. Ive had repair technician after repair technician out over 7 times! The washing machine must have been designed by a 3-year-old! Whirlpool, youre getting greedy and youre making your products CHEAP! I know this is fact, I have a 15-year-old side by side in my garage made by Whirlpool and it works great! Fire your 3-year-old designer! I will NEVER buy Whirlpool again! After all said and done, this pair has cost me total purchase and repairs over $4,000! And Now my bearings are bad! Thank God for YouTube! Im fixing it myself this time!

I purchased a brand new Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set not even 2 years prior. When I first started using it, I pulled shirts out of the wash after being ran through and found deodorant marks still on the inside of the shirts. I had to wash all of my loads on heavy soil and still had to run some loads through more than once. The wash machine quit working about 1 month ago, so I had a service man out to look at it. It ended up being the control panel and the part itself was going to cost me $300 and by the time I paid to have it repaired, the total cost was just under $400. The service man proceeded to tell me that Whirlpool had another company actually make the control panels for the Cabrio model and he has serviced several of these washers and when he would repair one part, another part would stop working. I was very upset and bought a new wash machine. I would like to add, I am a single mom with a 2 1/2 year old, so the wash machine was not used excessively in any way. I dont work outside so my clothes are never soiled heavily. Needless to say, my washer was not under warranty so Whirlpool couldnt do anything for me. A wash machine should last longer than less than 2 years. I would not recommend this model to anyone. And for Whirlpool to put their name on such a poor product is very disappointing since I have had good experiences with their products in the past.

My wife and I were gifted a brand new washer (model: WTW7300DW0) and dryer set. We were very excited to try them out as we had just moved into our new home and had been without a W/D for about a week. We ran our first couple of loads and discovered that our clothing was, especially dark colors, covered in white stains. We didnt know what it was so, we did a little research and found out it was most likely soap residue. So, we reduced the amount of soap we were using... and it still happened. We tried every setting available on the touch screen... clothes still came out covered in soap. We eventually called Whirlpool and had a technician come check it out. He ran his tests, said everything was fine, and to use only a teaspoon of soap for every full load of laundry. This didnt sound right to me but we tried it out... stains... still... and I noticed our whites were not getting cleaned very well at all. Sweat stains from undergarments were hardly touched during the wash cycle. After several more phone calls to Whirlpool, were having another technician come out. I just want Whirlpool to take this POS off of our hands and exchange it for something that works. A washing machine that actually washes would be nice.

Originally installed early 2007, the very expensive unit went crazy after about 14 months, with random beeping noises, and non-response to keyboard entry. Sometimes unplugging the unit worked. When unplugging no longer worked, the unit was repaired by replacing the keyboard logic boards only to fail again the same way.about a year later. It appeared the heat or steam from the cooktop below the microwave was causing the failures, so we became careful to ensure the fan was on. Last week, after boiling some water, the unit failed again, with error code F2H2, the keyboard error. Didnt Whirlpool expect the microwave to survive heat or steam from the stove/cooktop below? Overall, the unit is great when it works. Unfortunately due to the large size of the 2 cu ft unit, only an identical unit will fit. Im skeptical of replacing my broken unit with another Whirlpool Velos unless this keyboard problem has been fixed in new units. Anybody know if Whirlpool has fixed this problem?

I bought a Whirlpool washer and drying matching set (model 6400sw3). I liked it because it was extra large without agitator in the middle. Ive had it for about 2-3 years and I have already replaced the drain pump, motor and barrens, it has cost me over 500.00. I thought now OK its working fine, but now its giving me a code every time I wash of LD. I am so fed up with this!! I should have bought a new washer but I felt as much as I put into it, I basically built a new one. And now this code comes up every time and I have to power it off. Im not sure if anyone else has had this problem but I just dont know what else could go wrong with this. I will never ever buy a piece of junk like this again!!

I purchased a Whirlpool water heater and after working fine for about 2 1/2 years, I began having problems with it staying lit. I dealt with troubleshooting beginning in January of 2012 and finally in March of 2012, I was sent some replacement parts. The unit worked fine through the summer and once the weather started getting cold in October of 2012, I began to have problems with the unit again. After a couple of months complaining and threatening to file a BBB complaint, I was sent all of the parts left to change on the water heater. And I was told after the parts were changed if the unit still did not work, that it was probably a venting issue and that I would be responsible for that issue and the unit was not defective. I received the parts on 12/04/12 and they were changed out the same day. Now the unit will light when I hold down the button to light it but once I let go, the pilot light goes out. At least before changing out the parts, the unit was able to be turned on and sometimes it would work and other times it didnt, but now it will not light at all. This is very frustrating because the unit is under warranty and Whirlpool has for an entire year fought me tooth and nail just to send me the parts for the unit, only for the unit to still not work. I have a family and it is discouraging to not know when you are going to have hot water, having to constantly fix the unit or to call Whirlpool to troubleshoot and finally for the unit to still not work after replacing the parts. It looks like I will not have any hot water at all now.

I spoke with Whirlpool customer service. It is out of warranty and recommended to buy new vent part ($40.00). The new vent broke once again on 12/2011, clip attachment location. Now, the plastic door handle is cracking. The customer service is sorry and recommends to buy replacement parts as long as they remain available. I bought a new house in Hattiesburg with a Whirlpool dishwasher that is loud. It runs normally but when you open it the dishes are just as dirty as when you put them in if not worse since it will spray any residue from the bottom to the top shelf. I have taken it out and inspected all lines and such but can find nothing wrong to the naked eye. Thus I’ve got dirty dishes that must soak since the drying cycle retakes grime back on and then be rewashed.

I thought the new AquaLift cleaning would be the greatest. Boy, was I disappointed -- no thoroughly disgusted and very angry -- when I tried to use the self cleaning oven. I had cooked a prime rib roast and a lot of grease had spattered inside the oven. I wiped away the excess and did a cleaning cycle -- what a joke! There was still grease running down the door and walls. Nothing was changed after two cleaning cycles. Now I have to crawl inside the oven and scrub it manually. I was always pleased with the old self cleaning ovens which only left some ash and a little bit to clean up. The AquaLift technology doesnt work at all, didnt Whirlpool test it prior to selling it to the public? They will surely lose my business and I hope a lot of other peoples business as well. This technology was a huge mistake!!

Stove was purchased in June, 2021. Two months later, oven will not heat up!!! Contacts Whirlpool, and TEN days later, a service person finally shows up. Problem appears to be a circuit board that they dont have, and has to be ordered! When will it arrive? He has no idea!!! I called Whirlpool, but its frustrating and a waste of time. You only get to talk to someone that appears to be reading from a script! If were lucky, well be without an oven for one month; however, it could be two...or three...or four!!! My advice: Dont buy this stove/range!!! Not only is the oven an issue, but it just seems flimsy and subpar quality, especially the oven door. Added to that, the glass top is very difficult to keep clean... Worse than any glass top stove weve had in the past.

The only model number I can find is W10484489A.... Do NOT buy this machine. It is pathetic!! This machine cannot handle more than 2 bath towels at a time!! It will just keep trying to spin, yet NOT spinning, then when you stop it, there is no choice to just spin again, you have to rinse and spin!! Unbelievable.... takes a whole evening to do one load of towels!!! (actually a whole evening to do 2 towels) I hate it!!! Not to mention, whatever they designed between the tub and the door, a rubber whatever it is, is nothing but a catch for disgusting bacteria and slime. Considering the amount of wash I DONT DO, this is unacceptable, even though I have bought and used the new washing machine washing stuff!!! Honestly.... had a Maytag Neptune before this machine..... that is the way to go folks, pay a little more, but way more satisfied. Cleaned like a gem, unlike this whirlpool, cleaning is at best mediocre!! Unfortunately, I broke it, asking it to wash huge 120 in round table cloths for my business, and heavy chair covers..... Had I have know.... cant even wash 2 towels in this new Whirlpool machine!! It is heading to the curb with all its disgusting places you have to clean, I will pay someone to take it away, seriously cost me a ton of money in re-spinning (or yeah, and re- rinsing, cause you cant just spin something), would have been better to fix my MAYTAG!!! I hate Whirlpool!! Do not buy one!!

This is a comment for the person with the ice maker problem. I have a side-by-side, in-door ice dispenser that clogs up. First sign of problem is either the ice wont come out or it comes out crushed. What happens is frost builds up in the path the ice takes at a couple of different points. The only solution I have found is as soon as the problem starts I turn off the ice maker using the switch on the inside of the freezer. Then let it empty with normal use (if you wait too long youve increased your problems). The release button for the ice bin has frozen by now so you cant just lift it out. The bin needs to be empty. When it is empty, work the bin loose and take it out. Youll find that frost and maybe cubes have collected, frozen and blocked the passage. Be sure to turn the ice bin on its side and spray water into the undercarriage to melt and remove all the ice build up there. I use a hot sponge to melt the frost in the ice tube and then dry everything. This gets messy so be prepared to have water on the floor. Dry the ice bin and reinstall it. Ice cubes will be ready to drop from the ice maker so it wont be long until you have plenty. I live in Florida with high humidity so need to go through this process about once a month. Its a pain, but now it is just part of owning this unit. Good luck and hope this helps.

My Cabrio washing machine is 3 years old, and is working the way it has been designed to work. It does not clean clothes and it consistently has a foul odor. Due to the odor, I must use the cleaning cycle with Affresh (pricey product) 3-4 times weekly. Even that is insufficient. Because it is in an indoor laundry area, the odor permeates the hallway and nearby bedrooms. The extra cleaning cycles are contrary to the energy efficiency of the washer, and detrimental to the severe drought conditions in California. When I contacted Whirlpool about my situation, they recommended I substitute bleach for the Affresh to keep the cost down.

Electric hot water heater model E40H6-45-100 - Purchased at Lowes. Husband installed, tank filled, no hot water coming through house lines. Called support center several times after trying each recommendation that did not work. They kept saying it was a plumbing problem. My husband is very smart when it comes to electrical and plumbing. He has done numerous repairs to our homes over the last 30 years we have been married. He knows what he is talking about and told the support tech that he believed it was a faulty water heater. She immediately said the units are all tested before they leave the factory. The final step was to remove the nipple that the hot water flows through out of the tank and remove the two black bellows. Now my husband can see directly through the piece but also decides to put his finger through the the open whole on the top of the tank and cannot get his finger through - it is blocked. He gets a flashlight and a screw driver. Puts the screw driver through a thin plate that was blocking where the water should be coming through. He can now actually see the water in the tank. This was the whole problem! So they could not have tested this tank. They did give us a ref number to take parts back to store to replace parts we already bought and cannot use. Its the time and energy on whats suppose to be an easy job that counts. Will not recommend Whirlpool products to anyone and probably will not purchase any in the future. Ours was not as bad as most of the other reviews I read but wanted to advise others who may think about what brand to purchase.

CABRIO GETS A ZERO RATING. We are sorry we ever bought this washer in 08. The unit had a defective main control board and was replaced in 2012. The factory authorized service agent from A&E literally robbed us of jewelry while in our home. Now the main electronic control board needs to be replaced again. Neither Whirlpool or their authorized agents are truly customer service oriented on the defective product. Neither are willing to make an honest attempt at regaining our trust. I have contacted both and neither will acknowledge or offer reconciliation. The problem with the main board and the recurrent F-50 error has been denied by Whirlpool although acknowledged in numerous consumer forums as this. Our family is now without a wash machine. We have not even received a simple apology for the theft from the service agency - even though their employee has been arrested. BEWARE!

That too, how it happened the day next to the warranty period. Now, I have a doubt that as I purchased the article in Saravana Store T Nagar/Jayachandran stores in T Nagar, whether I am getting such kind of problem. The only thing Lowes could do for me was sell me 2 anode rods, one the plumber thought was bad. I also had to hire a plumber. I was eventually told I was out of luck because the area the old anode rod was in was too damaged to come out.

17 month old Whirlpool duet washer door lock broke. ($300) repair! Had given my old (13 years) set to daughter when I moved. That set has never had a repair or problem! I had one of the first Maytag Neptunes. Loved it to pieces but finally had a problem and my beloved repair guy said it was almost 20 years old so to give up and move on. Obviously, cant be without a washer for very long so grabbed this Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer. One of the biggest disappointments ever! Clothes come out streaked and splotched, dont smell very fresh or clean even straight after having been washed, stains dont come out even with pre-treating, have to run everything on heavy duty, whites are getting grayer by the week, and all-around horrid performance.Im ready to give up my Starbucks, start packing my lunches for a couple months, skip whatever treats I have to in order to get back to a quality machine that can actually WASH CLOTHES. I wondered exactly what it was or wasnt doing so I stood over it for half an hour. Initially, it loads up about a gallon of water and then spits it out over the rotating drum of clothes. Then it stops and spins that water out. I suspect the design logic was that it would force that gallon of water thru the clothes taking some dirt out with it. It repeats that stupid process several times. Then it finally gets a few inches of water in the bottom and the vestigial agitator tries to move it around.I watched one hand towel lie on top like a dead weasel, never getting pulled down or pushed out or whatever it was supposed to do to get down among the other items and squish together. Life throws me everything from sick kids spewing body fluids to people coming home reeking of hydraulic and other industrial fluids. When I say clean I mean CLEAN. This piece of junk couldnt satisfactorily process half a dozen dust rags. Neptune, Im coming back with my hat in my hand and a whole new appreciation!

My agitator-free washer began tearing small holes in my clothing and sheets
My agitator-free washer began tearing small holes in my clothing and sheets about one year after purchase. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent out a service person, who ran a diagnostic test on the washer and said it was fine and I should learn how to wash clothes and load the washer, etc. The barrel of this washer has little holes and I believe that when it spins the clothing, some pieces may stick in one of those holes causing tearing. The service person also told me that my clothes were old. I guess that means this washer is not for washing old clothing. The tears in my clothing are in places that are very unlikely to tear, like the back of my jeans behind the calf of a leg, about half way up from the ankle. There are holes in my tee shirts at the bottom of the back. Even if I were a smoker, which I am not, I would not likely burn holes in those areas. Whirlpool obviously does not want to accept responsibility for this problem, even though there are many other people having the same problem with this type of washer.

We bought this Whirlpool he washer two months ago, and it is the most aggravatingly frustrating washer weve ever had the displeasure to use. There are times when it washes just fine, but I always have to put the mode on deep water wash because the normal mode uses very little water (like its supposed to) but it doesnt clean the clothes. However, most of the time it doesnt wash at all. All the lights will turn off and youll hear this sound and itll drain the water without having been in the wash cycle. Worthless piece of equipment! I prefer the old washer where I have more control. Whirlpool used to be such a good brand, What Is Happening? The new design for their washing machine nowadays generates a lot of complaints, and with good reason (because they suck).

Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer from Home Depot. It started making noises on the spin cycle 2 months after the purchase. A technician came out and concluded it was a clothes hanger behind the machine making the noise. False. Two days later I tried to wash a load. All the panel lights came on. And then the machine died. No power. The tech came out and tried to run tests but the machine would not respond correctly. Informed it has a bad control. The machine will malfunction even if a button is pressed too long. And then its repairman time again. This machine is poorly designed. No doubt whoever designed the digital control panel did not think about ease of use. The tech has to recalibrate the controls after every failure. Whirlpool and Maytag have put out a bad product and this will be my last.

Model #RF262LXSQ Serial #RT2031953 - I purchased this appliance from Lowes approximately 6 years ago. Last week, I was heating soup and about 5 minutes after I placed the pot on the stove on medium, I heard a large pop and then several cracking noises. When I entered my kitchen, I found the burner flaming red, and when I tried to remove the pot, it was stuck. I immediately turned the burner off and after a few minutes, when it began to cool, was able to remove the pot. What I found was the glass top had melted and blistered and was cracked from front to the back of the stove. Although Lowes was not able to help me, they suggested that I contact you as they had never heard of this happening before. Not only am I dissatisfied that a stove should last many years past this purchase, I am inconvenienced until another stove can be delivered. I believe this to be a factory malfunction of the stove and request a credit for my purchase.

I purchased this machine in February 2019. The standard one-year warranty covered the first service call less than one year later. This call was related to the main control board. If this part goes out it will prevent the washer from advancing through the cycles. A technician was able correct this problem by resetting control board. That was sometime the first year. The next call was for the same problem and it cost me $90 to have a technician reset the board again. I then learned how to do it myself through online research. However, I had to do it more regularly and this got old as you can imagine. I did buy myself about two months of time by purchasing a used part but it soon failed as well. This main control board cost $564 if you get it from the manufacturer. This exceeds the cost of the machine. It was purchased in 2019. (The same machine has gone up to $740 today.) I had no other problems with that appliance however, it appears nowadays with electronics taking over cycles vs. mechanical parts you will not enjoy the same longevity as I did when I got 16 years out of a GE washer before this one. I have replaced this machine with a competitors product that costs less than the part except for the 5-year warranty from Lowes.

My boyfriend and I purchase a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer on November
My boyfriend and I purchase a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer on November 28, 2010 from Lowes in Shepherdsville, KY. Just after we purchased the set, I read some bad online reviews of the set. I called Lowes and talked to Chris ** in appliances and he assured me that this was a good set and that it was very popular with their customers. He assured me that if there were any problems that Lowes would make sure they did everything they could to fix and/or replace the appliance(s). My intention was to cancel the order when I called, but he convinced me not to, now I completely regret not canceling that order that day.In May of 2011 we called Lowes to report that the dryer was not working properly; they sent a repair person from Maytag Service Co, 1500 South Shelby, Louisville, KY 40217, phone number 502-637-6526. The name on the card that the repair person left is Steve **. The repair tech indicated that the problem was that the belt had come off and he put the belt back on the dryer. It has worked without issue until about 2 weeks ago, when it stopped drying again. I assume the belt is off again since it is performing exactly the same as it did in May when we had the repair company out.I called Maytag Service Co approximately 1 to 1 1/2 weeks ago to see when a tech could come back out and I was told they only work Monday - Friday. I told them both my boyfriend and I work and cant really take time off from work to be home for the repair. The male on the phone indicated that they could call 30 minutes before arriving if that would help. I told them that wouldnt really help since I work in Louisville (about 30 minutes from Shepherdsville where we live). He indicated that was the best they could do.Yesterday, November 7th sometime during business hours. I spoke with someone in their appliance department. He indicated that I would need to call Maytag Service Co at 502-637-6526. I called them and was advised that they could come out the next day (today), November 8th, but they could not give me a time window. I spoke to a female who did not identify herself. She specifically stated, If someone has not called you by 8:30 a.m., you can call us and we will give you a time window. Since I had just earned a vacation day at work, I so desperately need my dryer working that I took the day off to get the dryer fixed. I got up at 7:30 a.m. this morning to prepare for the service call. I have not left the house today. At 9:20 a.m. my boyfriend called and said that the service company had called and they were not coming out. I called them back and again spoke to an unidentified female. She indicated that they called my boyfriends phone at 9:00 a.m., he called them back at 9:20 a.m. I was on the phone with the female at 9:25 a.m. She indicated that I should have called at 8:30 a.m. and that they never call their customers because they dont have time to call them all. She said that when my boyfriend didnt answer the phone at 9:00 a.m., they had to send their tech on to the next call because, they cant have their tech waiting around 20 - 30 minutes on customers to answer their phone. When I told her that I took my only vacation day to be home for this call, she indicated that I would have to reschedule for another day because their tech was already on his way to another city. I then stated that I thought that was ** and she hung up on me.I called and spoke with the store manager at Lowes in Shepherdsville, KY. He called Maytag Service Co and was told that I used profanity and was rude and that I would not provide them with an alternate number. Most if not all of these are lies. I did say **, but I was not rude and I was never asked for an alternate number. I give out my number and my boyfriends number to almost any company we deal with. My boyfriend is also a service technician for Icee Corporation and he is not allowed to be on a cell phone in his work truck; therefore I always give both numbers since I can easily answer the phone throughout the day. The store manager made several attempts to try to find another company to come out and service our dryer, but cannot find anyone to come before tomorrow. Since I used my only vacation day today, I cannot be here for the technician and my boyfriend doesnt have any vacation or sick time to take to be home for the call.I cannot believe that after spending over $1300 on a Whirlpool Washer and Dryer set (including several hundred dollars for the extended warranty), that we cannot get our dryer serviced at our convenience. Since when did companies only repair or back up their products at their convenience? This in my opinion is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I thought Whirlpool/Maytag was a good company; now Im not so sure. I just wish I could return the set and do more research and find a quality appliance that wont break down 2 times in less than a year!!

Just like many other reviews about this brand - our microwave went bad after only 14 months of using it. Initially the door sensor would register - it wont operate even if the door is closed. Or it will keep going even if the door is open. I contacted BBB and the Whirlpool corporation regarding this safety issue. I pointed out that the safety mechanism is faulty and they should recall all of those models that have similar issue with door sensor. This is extremely dangerous for households with kids. There is a reason why this safety mechanism is mandatory in all microwaves! Whirlpool pointed out to me that I should not try to operate microwave with open door and refused to take any responsibility. Ive owned probably 10 different microwaves over the years and NEVER had micro go bad after only one year, yet alone have completely faulty safety mechanism. Consumer beware!

I purchased all new Whirlpool appliances for my kitchen from Lowes about 5 years ago. The dishwasher was leaking water onto my hardwood floors after about a year. I figured out that the seal was pulling away on the lower left corner. I fixed that myself. It cleaned pretty well for about 3 years. Now its not cleaning at all. I took the lower spray arm off to try to clean it. Almost all of the holes are clogged with debris. (I clean the filter at least once a week.) I went ahead and ordered a new sprayer arm, maybe that will help.As for the rest of the appliances... After about 6 months, the freezer started filling up with water that then froze on the bottom and allowed water to pour onto the floor. The microwave handled broke after about a month. (They did send me a replacement handle.) The knobs on the stove are starting to peel. One of the knobs wont stay on, so I keep it in the drawer next to the stove. Overall, I am very disappointed in all of the appliances. This will be the last time I buy Whirlpool.

We bought the washer and dryer set almost three years ago. Great sales pitch! Energy saver, extra capacity, low water usage, Whirlpool name and I thought we were getting great quality! Three years later I am disgusted, disappointed and am junking the washer. The dryer has a new heating element that we proudly fixed ourselves after the repairmen told us that these were meant to be throwaways. We just thought he did not want to work on it. After watching several YouTube videos we had it apart and found the issue was a cracked heating element. We ordered a new one for 100$ and spent another 4 hours putting it back together. If we had to pay a repairmen to do all that the bill would have been the price of a cheap new one. Fast forward three weeks and now the washer quit and it can be one of at least 15 problems. After reading all these reviews we have decided to toss it as junk. It took forever to was a load of clothes negating any energy saving! Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off all of us hardworking Americans selling us junk. At one time the Whirlpool name meant you could count on a quality product! If Whirlpool really wanted to do the right thing, they would stop selling these immediately and give customers a credit toward the purchase of new washers and dryers!

Forewarned is forearmed. Stay away from whirlpool. There are better brands. Do your homework! Sue from Edmonton, Alberta

Bought a Whirlpool french door fridge in July of 2019, The icemaker began pouring water out of it and the temperature of the fridge would not go below 50 degrees. Contacted Whirlpool and the technician says it will be over $800 in parts plus service to repair. Now I must go 24 days without a fridge in the middle of summer until they can get the parts. How does a 10 month old fridge need all of the parts replaced except the condenser in that short of time? Whirlpool should be held accountable for manufacturing the defective fridge and leaving their customers stranded.

I had whirlpool microwave model # WMH32517AS-2 that came with my new home in March of 2013. In September of 2013, we noticed there were times that the microwave failed to warm the food or liquids (coffee) sometimes at all. Then we figured out that we could hear the noise it makes when it actually warms the food. So after a repair man came out and saw the issue of not warming up, he replaced many parts but within a day we experienced the same issue. Whirlpool had a different repair man come out and replace additional parts hoping it would fix the issue but unfortunately, it did not. Whirlpool said they would send another microwave to us in January of 2014 but now its April 2014 and nothing sent and I have a broken microwave in my house. Due to the length of time it has been, I had to submit this. We have also called customer service on 5 occasions (who have these call documented) and the person that was supposedly helping us and assigned to our case 7 times with no response. We have attempted to talk to a supervisor but were told that I could not, which is unusual. Its just frustrating that this is happening.

The machine cleans clothes okay but constantly gets out of balance and sometimes it take all day to complete an entire cycle. It is very frustrating to rearrange clothes, restart the washer, and then wonder how many times it is going to take. It is especially time consuming to wash a large item like a bedspread, not to mention the waste of water. I can expect to reset at least 3 times. The machine is less than a year old. I think it is a design flaw or else I just have a lemon.

We purchased Whirlpool Gold Accubake, double ovens (gas) in 2005. Since then, we have experienced identical failures (8 to date) during the self-cleaning cycle in which the high temperature burns out the thermal fuse of the ovens. This requires two Sears technicians to repair the unit (it requires two technicians to pull the oven out as the fuse location is in the back of the unit) and leaves us without use of both ovens for approximately 2 weeks (scheduling parts delivery and technicians through Sears home repair is not an expedient process). After checking other consumer product websites, it has become clear to me that there is a known design defect with these ovens in which the thermal fuse is not adequately insulated from the high temperatures during self clean; it therefore trips and burns out during the self-clean cycle. While not having access to ovens for about two weeks/year on average may sound acceptable to Sears, the reality is that the problem has escalated in frequency since purchase. In 2013, we are going on our third repair of the same problem (that makes 6 weeks of non-usable oven time in one year) and Sears will not consider replacing the unit, despite: 1) our obvious dissatisfaction with a lemon unit, 2) a well documented history of the defect with this particular Whirlpool oven and 3) an ongoing and escalating repair cost to Sears (it is under their extended warranty so the repair cost is on them although we did pay for this service up front on our appliances).I would stay away from not only Whirlpool appliances but also Sears as there doesnt seem to be any regard for the customer experience and taking care of a product problem (the right way) with a known defect. Sears has an opportunity to make this problem go away quite easily and retain a customer - fix the problem permanently or just replace the defective unit. Unfortunately, my experience to date with Sears standing behind the products they sell provides me with little confidence that either will happen.

It is very inefficient and the clothes are not clean. But today I am so ticked. It broke in Sept. and they have come out twice and cant fix it. Now they say it will be Dec. before they can fix it as part is backordered. REALLY!!! Im expected to not have a washer from Sept. to Dec. with no compensation! I bought the most deluxe and expensive washer and dryer I have ever owned. It is a Whirlpool Cabrio. The clothes come out of the washer dry, and all tangled up. I bought it new from Sears on July 2009. Now only two years old, and the washer sounds like a jet plane. I paid a repairman $90.00 only to be told this is common in this machine. The repair is expensive, and I would be better off buying a new one! I owned a cheap, little GE washer, which cost me $300; ten years, and never had a problem. Now my dream machine turned out to be a piece of crap. I will never buy a Whirlpool again!

Three days later an electrician came and upon opening the microwave box it was severely damaged. Whirlpool won’t replace it because I called one day outside their 48 hour window. They delivered me a damaged product – period. It should be replaced without question. Instead they want to send a “cosmetic tech” out to see if it can be fixed. Whirlpool tells its technicians that the front molding piece on their dryers is a disposable part . Basically, it has to be removed to examine the console and removing it will break it 90% of the time. Therefore, the customer will have to replace a $100.00 part simply to diagnose any problems. I now have a dryer with no front panel simply because I wanted to know why a button was sticking.

Bought a model wdt730pahz in Nov 2017. Up until recently it ran fine and we were very happy. Some folks have reported that the soap dispenser door gets stuck. Same here. In our case we found, when using those detergent pods, to make sure that they are pushed all the way into the dispenser before you close the lid, or the lid jams. Other than that, the dishwasher got the dishes nice and clean. However, after just two years of using it maybe 3 times a week (there are only 2 of us) the motor died. Youd think a new motor ought to survive at least 500 cycles. Anyway, parts and labor was quoted at nearly $400. Debating whether to fix or replace the dishwasher. Might try ordering a motor and pump and replacing it myself.

The one delivered in July kept freezing the items in my refrigerator. I had two service people come out to replace parts in the next couple of months. The entire time having to throw out frozen food. Finally, they had another one delivered in November. This one continues to freeze food in the refrigerator. Mind you, I just got it and they want to start again with service. Seems others are having the same issues. My 4 month old gas oven is also not broiling. Customer service is awful. Every time I call the wait time is over an hour and then they don’t really help. I ordered a washer dryer combination through Whirlpool. I was given a delivery date 2 weeks out. Whirlpool employees must be doing their laundry very sparingly if they think that this would not put a strain on a household. But I was willing to wait. I asked the date and they wouldnt give it to me. A week later they called with the date and I asked the time. Again they wouldnt give it to me. However they said they would give me the time the night before. They then called with the time, which was during work hours. I told them I would be unable to do this during work hours and they gave me the only other optional date, also during work hours. I finally agreed and took a 1/2 personal day. When I arrived home. I received a phone call from Whirlpool that they will not be delivering my washer/dryer unit at all and to pick a different date. I canceled altogether.UPDATED ON 02/24/2016: I have worked hard to not get upset at companies. However I feel that this is an especially poor company and I cant remain silent anymore. I bought a Duet Washer and dryer over the phone with Whirlpool. It took 3.5 weeks for it to get delivered because Whirlpool kept cancelling. Each time, I took a 1/2 personal day so that I could meet the delivery people within their 4-hour window frame. On the 3rd attempt, they were finally delivered and set up by the delivery men.During the 2nd time I ever used the product, it stopped working, making a horrible grinding noise. I had to unplug the machine. My husband came home and hes pretty handy. However he was unable to even press 1 button. I had a friend in the repair business come the next day and he was unable to repair it. I called Whirlpool again and they said theyd have a repairman out the next day. They outsourced the job to a local company and Whirlpool sent me a confirmation email with a time and date. Again I took a 1/2 personal day. After hearing from no one, I called the repair company. They said they had no record of me in the system. I cried.I called Whirlpool and was put on hold for 3 hours. I hung up and called again. They said my department closed 8 minutes ago and they couldnt take my call. I asked how that could happen considering you began the call 3 hours before that time and would have stayed on hold until I died had I not decided to hang up and try again. Every time previous to this I had been on hold for a minimum of 1 hour.I have been trying to return the product. They tell me that Im unable to because my product is functional. I told them it was in fact not functional, which was about the 3rd time I said this, and they said Ill have to call back 1st thing in the morning. I told them I cant risk any more work time to deal with this poor company. So they put me on hold again and thats where I remain. I am currently going on 27 minutes.

I have had my stove for 3 years and it works fine. However since I have become a grandparent, I have been extremely worried about the chance of being burnt. the problem is once you turn off the burner, it doesnt look any different than it does when not in use. It stays hot for a very long time however. Hot enough to burn or melt anything. There is no blocking a child from reaching up and touching it. I have placed a loaf of bread near it only to have it melt down the side. The burner didnt look hot at all. This was at least 15 min. after turning off the burner. Im not trying to cause issues but I believe this is a real danger, not only at the risk of someone getting a burn but also to the point of an entire family losing their home or even their lives. A simple flammable item being knocked over could start a fire. I ask that someone look into these risk.

We purchased both the Cabrio Whirlpool washer and dryer approx. 3 years ago, while still under the manufacturers warranty the lid cracked upper right corner. It was replaced and we were told by the repairman at that time this is becoming a common problem that he himself has seen this exact failure to several of these washers. Whirlpool needs to fix the problem. Shortly after this happened we receive in the mail the information for the extended warranty. Due to having this already happen, I phoned the extended warranty department for Whirlpool and specifically asked if this same thing happens again will it be covered under the extended warranty. My answer Yes.Well it happened again, called extended warranty provided them with a detailed description of what happened, they would send someone to replace, the service gentleman arrived today, called Whirlpool and they denied the claim. So they LIED. I instill honesty in my children and am proud to say I hold honesty as a high value. We were told it was cosmetic, the glass is buckled and the lid has to be held down to engage the lock mechanism of the lid. COSMETIC, this is a SAFETY concern. Where have our American values gone... Whirlpool used to have them back in the day... Shame on you Whirlpool.

Bought a Whirlpool range in Nov. Within a month the large burners fell apart and the reflector bowls discolored from normal use. Call Whirlpool and they sent out replacements. Within a month the first replacement fell apart and the new bowls discolored from heat again. I held off calling until the second burner fell apart and this time when I called I was told I would have to stay home to wait for a service call to have burners replaced which I could do myself and that the bowls arent covered and that it normal for them to discolor with normal use. They said I should wrap them in foil to protect them. They appear to prefer wasting time and money rather making a good product. The burner bowls from my old GE stove are still shiny after many years of use but Whirlpools cant hold the finish for a month. Bought this from Lowes in 2010 with the 12 yr extended warranty. Have not been able to keep it lit. Takes 4-10 days for repairman just to LOOK AT IT and then he usually has to order a new control valve, taking another 2-4 days (have had the control valve replace 3xs). This means, my husband has to get down at eye level to try to get it to light (hes 63) & if it doesnt light on the 40th try or the cramp in his hand stops him sooner, we have to heat water on the stove, carry it through the house to the bathtub, try to get the temp not too hot or too cool, then hope that our 70 yr old bodies can get down into the tub plus get back out without falling (showers are preferable). My husband bought The best hot water heater $ could buy at our local Lowes store. Because we are getting up there in years, we hoped that this would be the best answer by also getting the extended warranty. They have had numerous repairmen out to our house (6 or 7 last count)... two different men told my husband that they would only be here a couple of minutes knowing it was not going to light for them either. Time wasted. Patience gone. Still they wont replace it because if anyone can get it to light up again, no matter how long that may take, then theres no need to replace it! They have already put more money into parts, labor & repairs than it originally cost. I was told today by the ex. warranty representative that its not considered a lemon! I purchased a Whirlpool French Door refrigerator (G16FDRXXY07) from h.h.gregg appliances and electronics in Columbia, South Carolina, on August 3, 2012. It was delivered and installed on August 11, 2012. It functioned well for three weeks, and then temperature of refrigerator dropped to 25F. Vegetables and eggs got frozen. I made a service call to Sloan Appliance Service as soon as I was aware of the problem. In the 3rd visit, the thermometer was replaced after troubleshooting. After replacing the thermometer, the temperature of the whole refrigerator got higher than it was supposed to be. Refrigerator got around 53F, and freezer got 34F. All foods in the refrigerator got spoiled. In the past six weeks, the company sent technicians to my house to check the problem, and they tried to fix this refrigerator for 5 times. The situation got worse and worse. I have not had a functional refrigerator for 6 weeks. A technician came with a compressor on 10/22/2012 to see if replacing it could fix the problem. When he cut the copper pipe, he found that refrigerant was leaked out. There is no refrigerant at all. He refilled refrigerant without changing compressor. Because he thought the leak was slow, it should be caused by the evaporator. He thought it should work and last long enough when a technician comes back with evaporator replacement. It turned out what the technician thought was wrong. The temperature of both refrigerator and freezer did not drop to normal, 53F/34F. The problem persists. I called Whirlpool customer support line several times. The response I got was that Whirlpool would not replace for having manufactured a faulty appliance during manufacture warranty. They can only keep sending technician onsite to check and repair. For 6 weeks and 5 times onsite visits/repairs, this newly purchased refrigerator still does not function.

The service tech said the boards are a common problem. Two years later, when using the self-cleaning mode, the door was locked and the board was out again.
