I have owned a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator since 2011. It has required two repair calls due to a water leak. The company did repair it free of charge on the second visit even though it was out of warranty. It is now leaking again which has caused damage to my wood floor and basement ceiling tiles. I am told that I have pay for the repairs this time even though it is the same problem. I was offered a modest discount to purchase a new refrigerator. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. This refrigerator should be recalled. I recommend GE products. They stand behind their products and they last a lot longer. Shame on Whirlpool! So many complaints with very little response .

Whirlpool Cabrio Elite Top Loading Washer Model WTW8240YW - I add my complaint to the roughly 2000 others about this machine and Whirlpool. Two months after the warranty expired the machine started making a loud noise on the spin cycle. I called a repairman and he said it was the main bearing going bad and this was a common problem with this model. He recommended buying a new washer rather than repairing the unit because the cost to repair was greater than what I paid for the washer. I called Whirlpool and all they offered was to send a repairman at my cost. This is terrible service for a documented problem that they have. I will buy a new washer but it will not be a Whirlpool!

Despite my claim being submitted within the first 4 months of purchase, Whirlpool would not assist in solving our issue. We purchased all major appliances from Whirlpool, to furnish our new home in August 2021. All appliances were white. The top of our gas range began discolouring immediately following the first use. The inside of the four corners immediately began to ware due to heat. I figured Id have time to put my claim in, and thought to see if it got worse. Once I finally had time to deal with the issue, I contacted them only to find out that we only had 30 days from the date of purchase (of which included 3 months of waiting for the products to arrive) to claim the issue, given that it was considered Cosmetic. Easy fix, since theyd simply have to change the top of the stove, but Whirlpool denied our claim. Do not purchase this product, unless youre looking for a sub-standard product and customer service.

We just love the hidden icemaker, the outside display for temps, ice, water, external H2O and crushed or cubes, and the LED inside lighting is fantastically bright, the space, moveable shelves, the quiet, the overall efficiency, huge drawers freezer, the wide open doors, the separate temps for vegetables, cheeses, cold cuts, etc. The separate filters in the refrigerator eliminate any smells. Easiest water filter to change we have ever had on any make refrigerator. Over the years, this is the first refrigerator of perhaps 7, we have truly never regretted buying it and frequently comment how happy we are with it!

I have been married for 43 years and started my marriage with a Kenmore Washer and Dryer. That was because my mother, aunt, and grandmother all had Kenmore Washers and Dryers. Kenmore was made by Whirlpool. In 43 years I have gone through two sets of Kenmore Washers and Dryers, and one set of Whirlpool Washer and Dryer. I have always been very pleased with your product and have never considered buying anything else. However, last year we bought a new Whirlpool washer and dryer. I have no complaints about the dryer, but this washer is a piece of **! It is a cabrio top-loading high efficiency low-water washer. What idiot came up with this idea? Tonight I am once again having to divide my washer load and run them for at least a second time. This is not cost effective!!! This sprinkling with water and sucking it out doesnt work. Not to mention that since we have gotten these wonderful energy saving appliances our electric bill has increased instead of decreasing. You need to make a washing machine with a wash tub and agitator like you use too.

I purchased 4 Whirlpool appliances late 2014. The French door refrigerator close to a year later made a piercing sound several times during a day. I immediately contacted Whirlpool and the representative directed me to YouTube to listen to the normal sounds the refrigerator would make. My first thought was I have been a homeowner for 30 years and countless appliances and never heard such a horrible sound. At the same time they sold me an extended warranty over the phone. He assured me sounds were covered. The sound just kept getting louder and more frequent. I could not take this piercing sound and called back. They sent a local repair service. At the time the repair person came out the refrigerator was not making the sound. I played a video recording and the repairman even said what an terrible sound it was. He continued to check everything over and said - everything looks good. I dont know what the sound is coming from. I asked, What is Whirlpool going to do? He said, nothing, the warranty ran out and your extended warranty does not cover sounds. What a ripoff! Now the drawers broke and another thing they wont cover! I also have problems with the dishwasher I purchased at the same time. Even putting on the extended hot dry I need to wipe everything off. I should have just open a window a tossed out over 2k. The sound is so horrible I am being forced to junk the refrigerator and purchase a new one. Dont purchase Whirlpool and never purchase extended warranty over the phone.

We have just built a new home and have spent a ton of money on appliances. I so wish I had looked up the reviews on this Whirlpool Cabrio Washer before we bought it. It makes a very loud annoying sound through at least a third of the cycle (which I was just told by Whirlpool is the normal agitating sound). We have also had to have service out here twice in the first few months because some of the clothes come out dirty in areas that were folded over because of lack of water even on the high water setting. It also, ripped my favorite white blouse right in half. Trust me DONT buy it, you will be sorry.

Purchased a Cabrio washer wtw5550xwo in Sept. 2010.. Had to replace the pump a little after the warranty ran out. Then recently the control board goes out. Called customer service to complain. This part costs $320 to replace. They told me since it is no longer under the one year warranty they could not help me. This is a major part in less than 5 years of the machines use. I guess I will be purchasing another washer. It will not be a Whirlpool or any company affiliated with them. How sad. I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone. She took my model, serial info and clearly explained this model had defects and they would replace for free even though 1 year warranty was up. Delivery staff would call within 24 business hours. After 4 days I call back and get Mia rep, she claims I was disapproved for new unit after all?? I spoke to 2 supervisors above her Karin in Tennessee, and another. They claim I was mistaken??? I said, “Look up the recorded call and you will see the message is clear... They acted shifty and claimed I should buy a new starting at $1399!!! They would consider small discount?? Their rep was clear at first then they failed to back her up. Terrible customer service. Lied etc. Never buy Whirlpool!!! They are cheap and don’t stand behind reps. Awful company!!!

Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio. Noticed it was getting really loud less than a year into owning it. Called while it was under warranty. The tech said it was fine. Within the next year and a half it got so loud, you cant hear anything else in the house while it is running. Now it is leaking from the tub seals and the bearings are going out according to two service techs I have had come look at it. They say it is more expensive to fix than the washer is even worth. This is due to the parts that would be used to fix it are the same cheap Whirlpool parts that were put in it in the first place. They both said that these are not good washers and commonly go out about a year and half to three years old. Shame on Whirlpool for making such a low quality product and not being willing to do anything about it.

I purchased a dishwasher less than 6 months ago from Menards. Since then, I have had to have it repaired twice, due to items getting past the filters and clogging up the drains, so the dishwasher wouldnt drain. I have a 1-year warranty that came with the dishwasher, so both repairs were covered. However, I felt that there should be more done by the company, such as a free extended warranty to cover the cost of repairs as Im sure there will be more; and this is a problem that even the repair man said shouldnt be happening.I called Whirlpool to see what could be done, and all they kept telling me is that I could purchase an extended warranty. I told them (nicely, at first) that I found that ridiculous - why should I pay even more to continue to fix a problem that I shouldnt be having? If they werent going to give me a free extended warranty, I requested at least a partial credit toward another dishwasher, and they could have the piece of junk I have back. They refused to help. I am beyond disappointed with the lack of concern they have for their customers. I will not purchase any more Whirlpool products.

I had whirlpool microwave model # WMH32517AS-2 that came with my new home in March of 2013. In September of 2013, we noticed there were times that the microwave failed to warm the food or liquids (coffee) sometimes at all. Then we figured out that we could hear the noise it makes when it actually warms the food. So after a repair man came out and saw the issue of not warming up, he replaced many parts but within a day we experienced the same issue. Whirlpool had a different repair man come out and replace additional parts hoping it would fix the issue but unfortunately, it did not. Whirlpool said they would send another microwave to us in January of 2014 but now its April 2014 and nothing sent and I have a broken microwave in my house. Due to the length of time it has been, I had to submit this. We have also called customer service on 5 occasions (who have these call documented) and the person that was supposedly helping us and assigned to our case 7 times with no response. We have attempted to talk to a supervisor but were told that I could not, which is unusual. Its just frustrating that this is happening.

My landlord replaced our old Whirpool topload washer with a Whirlpool HE topload machine last year. Looks sleek, lots of settings BUT IT DOES NOT GET CLOTHES CLEAN - not on any setting, not if loaded as recommended or under-loaded, not if I use more or less detergent, and not if I follow all the tips for getting rid of residue. This machine so under-performs I have to spot clean my clothes AFTER I was them. And were not talking deep dirt or grime here, or things that need special treatment, Just ordinary dirt dirt, to which the machine adds gray streaks of dirty water residue. Thank God I didnt buy this turkey for myself -- I will NEVER buy one of these machines. I did two small rugs today and they came out dingier than they went in. These machines should be recalled. If I could give it less than one star, I would.

I bought a Whirlpool/Fridge Freezer Model WRF560SMYM 01, less that two years ago. Two months ago it started making a terrible noise. Apparently the freezer was iced up and a mechanic defrosted it. It happened twice more and he left saying he could not fix it. Another arrived and took the model number and he disappeared. A third the same. Now I have an empty freezer, just an ice maker. It seems to not freeze up so quickly with the moisture control on. Over $2,000 down the drain unless somebody can fix it. Oh and the fridge gets very cold! Seems to use very little water. When I take the clothes out, they are bone dry in places which means they havent even seen any water! Clean (?) clothes end up smelling musty and I end up having to wash them two or three times which completely goes against any eco argument! I am really disappointed with this product and would never buy Whirlpool again. I have just washed our dog blankets. The cycle finished so took them out, had to check that the detergent had been used as the blankets were almost completely dry. The blankets still completely smell of dog so have had to put them through another wash (with more detergent – waste of money) and with a pre-wash cycle. Rubbish! We also have a Whirlpool drier and that is no better. Washing never comes out completely dry. It always has to be fully aired, sometimes more than others. There is no consistency in how wet or dry the clothes come out. Avoid at all costs.

Front-loading does not do good job of rinsing. The Whirlpool Duet will not last longer than 2 years. Whirlpool recommends that owners purchase a new washer every 2 years. I purchased this washers predecessor, the WTW6200 in May of 09, along with the matching dryer. The bearings gave out after 36 months of use, and our household comprises two adults in their mid-fifties. Estimated cost of the repair? $650! Why am I posting this here? Because two weeks ago, my daughter-in-law called to say that shed so liked my machine when she visited in 09 - Id had the thing for two weeks at that time - that shed bought the WTW8500B and... the bearings were already giving out. I suggested she get the thing repaired, sell it immediately and replace it with an LG product, which is what Ive done. She has been put on a three-month waiting list for the repair, confirming my feeling that Whirlpool, as a whole, has gone down the tubes. Their service record is dreadful, with an excess of 20K complaints existing at various consumer agencies regarding ALL the Cabrio line, and their warranty, Ive learned, is considered the worst in the industry. All in all, the single worst purchase of my fifty-odd years.

We have owned the Whirlpool Quiet Partner II for about 2.5 years. We purchased this from our local Lowes store (on sale). For the first few months, everything was fine. Then, the dishwasher stopped completing a full cycle and left the dishes somewhat dirty. I found online that I could reset the controls by pressing heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal quickly. When the cycle starts, I press cancel and then set the cycle I want and it will do it correctly. I do this every time I wash the dishes since I dont know when it will decide to stop working (wasting water and soap to redo). Now, the dishes are not drying and water collects on the ceiling of the tub. I saw this after a smell was coming from the tub (like mold) and when I looked up at the top of the tub, I saw water droplets hanging there and mold forming around the sprayer and back of tub. I have to wipe the ceiling dry now or just run vinegar through it often. I cant see paying someone to come out since service calls start around $70 just to come to my home. I did look at reviews for the dishwasher before buying but I wished that I had seen this site first. I would not ever recommend this dishwasher to anyone!

Bought Whirlpool refrigerator in October 2014, model WDT710PAYH6. Ice maker never worked right and then started leaking water. A month later it is still not fixed even though it is supposed to be under warranty. I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and stove at that same time -- both of those needed to be replaced right out of the box! Called Whirlpool and they wont replace. Only referred me to a different repair company. Meanwhile it is leaking all over the floor. Now I see all these complaints for the same issue, yet the Whirlpool rep says they know nothing of this problem! I have a brand new Whirlpool matching microwave that sits uninstalled. Updated on 03/15/2020: We bought this eight years ago to replace a 20-year-old Maytag that had finally developed a rust-related leak after serving us faithfully and needing only one almost trivial repair ($10 DIY lid switch replacement) over that period. I have replaced the water pump, the gear case, rotating seal (3 times), the lid switch striker (3 times), and the replacement gear case is making noises indicating incipient bearing failure. In its finite wisdom, Whirlpool decided to make the failure-prone main bearing irreplaceable, which means you have to replace the entire gear case, at a best-case cost of $120 and a worst-case cost of $300, plus labor, unless you do the work yourself, as I do. The secondary issue is mold and a musty odor. The most effective way to eliminate this is to pull the drum (non-trivial, requires a car jack, a 2x4, and a special spanner/wrench) and swab down the inside of the tub with disinfectant. (Been there ... done that three times over 8 years.)Original Review: I am in the process of replacing the bottom seal on my 6-year-old Whirlpool Cabrio (WTW5500XW2) washer. This will be the fourth major repair I have done on it. Fortunately, I can do the work myself and know how to find the best price on parts, but it is still discouraging that a lightly-used washer would have so many problems in such as short time. (It replaced a 20-year-old Maytag that finally rusted out.) Repairs to date: 1) replaced drain pump motor; 2) replaced lid switch; 3) removed basket twice to clean outer tub, due to mold and odors; 4) replaced suspension rods due to excessive spin vibration; 5) out of commission awaiting a new bottom seal. Total cost of parts (labor was on me) is well over $100.

We had the refrigerator delivered in March, 2013. We noticed a leak in February 2014, only because we smelled a musty smell in our garage, and removed the rug outside the door, from the garage to the kitchen. Then we started noticing water in the garage. It was shortly after we determined it was the refrigerator. We bought this at Lowes and they use A&E, and they did not show up for the first appt. They did replace the pan a few days later while we had to replace dry wall behind the fridge. This time around (month later) we noticed the fridge/freezer was not cooling. So A&E came out and determined its the compressor. So now we threw out hundreds of dollars of groceries, and water was leaking all over the floor again from ice thawing. I believe the refrigerator has had problems all along. We have had it for one year. I think we should be reimbursed for the compressor! Thats the least Whirlpool can do after losing so much food and money spent on the wall, and all the water mess etc. I will never buy Whirlpool again, and I will never purchase from Lowes again. We always bought at Lowes, but this was a bad experience, and I get told one thing on the phone with reps and another by A&E.

I have the same problems as the ones listed in complaint section. I bought 4 Whirlpool products at the same time: refrigerator, stove, and the Whirlpool duet. Washer is a front loader. We have had nothing but trouble. The company we bought the machine from exchanged the washer for the same model because the electrical was bad and the parts to replace were back ordered for more than 3 months. We are now having problems with the exchange washer. This time it is the same as the engineer remarked in his complaint the bearings are bad and it sounds like a jet taking off. It’s that loud.I went down to the place of purchase and I am in the process for the repair. I have a feeling this will not end well. Whirlpool, if you call them, gives you a run around or tells you they dont have you listed in there computer. We dont have the money to replace any of this. This new machine is only 9 months old. Whirlpool is making a killing off of fixed income people and the working class. You tell me who can afford the cost of that kind of repair or the cost of a new machine that only works for a couple of months. Why is 60 Minutes not on them like a bad smell?

The smell from the washer has gotten so bad we have to keep the door closed to our laundry room, or the smell will permeate the whole front part of the house, as it is we have to keep the door to garage which is adjacent to laundry room open to air out laundry room. Our friends and guests, are aways telling us we have water leak or something mildewing, or rotting in our house. The washer works well, and I cant find any buildup. We frequently run it through clean washer cycle, it smells OK for a hour or two, and odor returns!

Some years ago I bought a whirlpool water heater from Lowes and the thermocouple went out. No big deal, so I thought. I went to Lowes, picked up a new one and tried to replace it. It wouldnt thread even though the package stated it was for my model. I went back to Lowes and they gave me another one, same problem. So I called Whirlpool, they said it was a left handed thread and they discontinued it, but they could send me a conversion kit at my cost. So at that point I was 2 wks out so I paid for the kit. I received the same thing I bought from Lowes. I was so frustrated I ripped the thing out and got a new one. That was 2 yrs ago and now I am having the same problem. I called whirlpool and they want me to pay for the replacement part. Mind you, the heater has a 6-yr warranty. I went to Lowes and they wont replace it. They sell items that they dont stand behind. I will never buy another whirlpool item and I will never shop at Lowes again.

Whirlpool Hot Water Tank Thermocouple - This is the third thermocouple we have had to replace on this hot water tank in the last six years. Granted the part isnt that expensive, but the service call and replacement have cost us dearly. This is faulty tank and Whirlpool needs to recall this tank and replace them with new tanks. The price of this original tank and replacing this thermocouple three times has cost us over $800.00 total. I am not sure angry is the right word to describe our dissatisfaction with Whirlpool.

Whirlpool Cabrio - This expensive machine should be called the Presidential. First it spins, spins, spins. It sprays tiny amounts of water, so little, that there is 2 inches or less. There isnt enough water to cover the clothes so no agitator to stir and mix them. There are ridges on the bottom of the tub called aggrivators to twist everything into pretzels. This twisting spreads the dirt around, but does NOT remove it, the utter lack of water giving it no where to go. I use a hose to add extra water, and I hand soap dirty spots. I stop the washer frequently to hand rub and slop the clothes around and un-twist them. Explain to me how running this machine 3 times plus adding water saves water and energy. I cant, in good conscience, sell this POS to someone else, and I cant afford something else. I sure miss my simple reliable old Maytag. I could say even more about this atrocity, but not now. I HATE THIS POS!

The Whirlpool Gold Series we purchased, to replace the older refrigerator, has far exceeded our expectations. The French Door setup was exactly what my wife had talked about. The saleslady at Home Depot, where it was the least expensive by $283, was very well informed. We went through the specs, colors, types of finishes, etc and picked the perfect one for my wife's needs and wants. The model performs well fully loaded or almost empty. She told a few family members and they went out and bought the same model, or next model up, as we did. To wrap it all up, "Buy this. It performs as well as, if not better, than all the rest."

If you are searching for a top freezer refrigerator that works and keeps the food cold, do not buy this brand. I recently ordered a brand new refrigerator from Home Depot, the Whirlpool brand. It was set to standard factory settings, and I let it sit plugged in for 24 hours as required. The fridge was remaining in between 45 to 50°F, and I let it run for another 24 hours after filing a complaint and talking to the people at Whirlpool. The fridge still cannot get beneath 40°F, though the freezer seems to be okay. I spent almost $1000 on the refrigerator, and I’m very disappointed in the quality that this supposedly good brand produces. I went on Facebook marketplace, found an old 1995 Kenmore and bought it for $50. It works so much better than this brand new, fancy looking refrigerator, because back decades ago is when they actually took the time to make quality products, and didn’t make the crap that they do now that breaks down instantly or after only a few years. Unfortunately, and my researching has confirmed this, appliance manufacturers today create bad quality products that break down shortly in order that you will have to purchase more of their products after only a few years. Refrigerators used to last decades, now you’d be lucky if they lasted maybe 8 to 10 years. Trust me on this, don’t waste your time on this brand. A refrigerator should have no problem on factory settings getting at or below 40°F within 24 hours. DON’T BUY THIS JUNK!

I contacted Whirlpool only to find out that they wont do anything to diagnose the problem. I have to pay labor for someone to come out, diagnose the problem and then pay for the labor to either correct the problem or replace the water heater. By the time I pay the labor costs, I could almost buy a brand new unit.

In March 04 2014, I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine. After having had a Whirlpool for 17 years without any problems with it, I purchased another one. This last one is a piece of junk. I dont even want to talk about the noise, I think it is expiring or on its last leg. They should fire the engineers that invented this model and bring back the other engineers that invented the one I had for such a long time, they far surpassed these space scientists that they now have. On August 8, I called Whirlpool, they sent me someone from Dinos appliances. This man tells me that there is nothing wrong with this machine and that he re-calibrated it. Whatever that means, it is still not wringing the clothes properly. There are only 2 people in my household, so my loads are not very large. I even tried this Drain & Spin cycle after the wash was completed and the clothes still came out too wet. I also have a Whirlpool Dryer and I will not replace it with the same brand. I also will never buy a Whirlpool product again and will make sure that I will share my experience with everyone I know.

We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer duet exclusive to Lowe’s in June 2011. I was immediately dissatisfied and went to Lowe’s. They told me I only had 7 days to return it. They dispatched a service man and he said it was working as it was intended to but I would never be satisfied. If I had dirty clothes from farming, construction, or mining, I should forget about it.” The washer is an eco-friendly model and all the clothes do not get wet. It wrings them out very tight and everything needs to be dried or ironed to get rid of the wrinkles. After 6 visits and lots of stress, I am returning the washer to Lowe’s and they will replace it with a different model. It definitely will not be a Whirlpool. I am very disappointed in the service and response I received from Lowes.

Sometimes the clothes come out with dry spots and then some come out with lint like they have gone through the dryer and yet they are coming out of the wash. Often they are in a very tight large ball in the center of the machine. I distribute evenly around the machine and I dont overload. The brilliant engineer that decided the machine did not need a soak cycle is a person that has never washed clothes. Wish I would have taken pictures of some of the soil still left on my clothes.

No wonder your stock price have dropped. I would sell off to. Whirlpool/GE have been going down hill for the last 5 years. Maybe more. Cheap products, do reflect, it just a matter of time, I would think you would address these issues in your product line, but it shows your company is all about profits instead of quality of products. The replacement only lasted just over only 2 years and just outside the total of 6 years from original purchase date on the first. Whirlpool refused to discuss it since it was a few months out of warranty. If someone else has purchased this heater it would have failed at 2 years and they would have had to warranty it anyway. I will never own another Whirlpool appliance because of their substandard products and warranty. Reading the many reviews of malfunctioning washers and other appliances, I wonder why organizations like Consumer Affairs and Consumer Reports do NOT help the many cheated customers form a class action lawsuit or boycott or some other means to effectively organize and force manufacturers to return the full cost of purchase, taxes, shipping, moving and repairs for 5 years for every product. The manufacturer have NO consequences for selling shoddy, malfunctioning but terribly expensive products. We are all being taken for fools by the corporations.I was stupidly brand loyal and bought a Whirlpool Duet front-load washer and dryer because we had to leave our perfectly good 28-yr-old Whirlpool washer when we sold our house. The first set of instruction is to pull the electric cord from a small hole in the back of the washer. No amount of pulling would budge the cord. Finally yanked with all my strength, heard a snapping sound and 12 of cord came out. Then no more pulling, yanking or tugging would produce another inch of cord. So I took off the top of the machine and found the cord tightly wedged in the fork of a plastic thing that looked like part of a stabilizer for the drum.A similar plastic thing on the other side was broken at the fork, the snapping sound I heard. Freed the cord with lots of effort, but it was still firmly stuck way down inside. Removed the back of the machine, found the cord stuck inside a circular thing with one tiny opening. Took lots of time and effort to free the cord from that, but it was still stuck. Finally managed to reach the plug, which was firmly anchored to the bottom of the frame with an orange lanyard. Cut the lanyard with a knife to finally free the cord. This had to be an act of sabotage by an assembly worker, as no way could the cord accidentally jam itself into 3 different places too small for the cord to slip in, and it certainly didnt tie itself to the bottom of the frame with a lanyard. The hour it took to free the cord was just the start of troubles with this machine. It did start and kind of tumbled clothes in an odd fashion, but when it went into spin cycle, it literally jumped all around the room, almost jumping out the door. The whole house shook and I feared the floor would collapse. That machine must weigh well over 100 lbs. even without water and clothes. Next load I tried delicate cycle which had a slow spin cycle.Same result, even worse. I had to wedge my body in the 10 space between washer and dryer and press down with all my 170 lbs. to keep the machine from doing serious damage to the dryer, walls and floor. I contacted seller, Lowes, and they said call Whirlpool. So I did, but no response. Before buying that machine, I read many horrible reviews of Whirlpool Duet machines, but I have only owned 2 washers since 1967, both Whirlpools, so I had strong but stupid brand loyalty.

I purchased an Electric Whirlpool Aqualift convection range in November of 2012. This product is garbage! The oven doesnt work well (temperature is always off), the Agualift cleaning method doesnt work well. You have to self-clean to clean it. The most troubling problem is that just after a year of owning it, the finish on the control panel started to crackle. I called Whirlpool, and all they can do is send me a replacement part for which I have to pay for and have installed. My last GE range lasted over 15 years. This range is garbage from day 1. They asked if we wanted it and could get it at a reduced price. We said no, we wanted a new one and that one was delivered on 1/4/12. This stove has had many service calls to fix the ignite for the oven. The ignite and a circuit board for this problem has been replaced many times. The smell of gas in the house is terrible from the many times you try to light the oven. This problem has happened many times when a family event was going to be done (Thanksgiving, making Christmas cookies). It is also very poor advertisement for the company and stove to have this happen when there are so many people around. They will have a tendency to spread the word by mouth. PS: When we called (12-13-13), the woman stated after 4 calls for the same thing there should be a replacement or a refund of money (All the calls have been for the same thing OVEN IGNITE and GAS SMELL).

After 6 years, Our $2500 Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling and would not dispense ice. Since we had purchased a Whirlpool extended warranty, a Whirlpool authorized technician replaced the compressor and informed Whirlpool it also required a new door that included an ice dispenser. A door was not available so Whirlpool refused additional repair and refunded the $400 purchase price of the warranty. Meanwhile the refrigerator stopped cooling again and Whirlpool refused any additional obligation. The refrigerator was now non-functional and we had to spend $3500 to get a comparable refrigerator. The moral: 1) Whirlpool makes very expensive refrigerators that have about 30% of the life-span compared to earlier vintage refrigerators. 2) They know this and will promptly refuse to warrant their product if it is to their benefit. I purchased this Whirlpool, model YGY397LXUQ04, electric range in midsummer 2011 and used it very infrequently for approximately 5 months as we were away for 6 months during the winter. On approximately June 15, 2012, we found that the keypad would only register 350 deg. F for the oven if we pushed the bake button two times and the oven temperature would go up to 550 deg; F if we pushed the 7 button 3 times. In discussion with the service manager from Whirlpool, he advised that the stove was out of warranty and they would supply parts at no cost but we would have to pay the labor costs which in my estimation would cost over $200. After searching the internet for similar problems, it was evident that this problem was not uncommon. I am concerned about the quality of this product and if it can possibly be a fire hazard. I would not recommend this product as the quality, possible safety issues and reliability are a significant concern.

When the repairman came out, he said it had leaked the Freon, so I thought it should have been a simple fix. Boy was I wrong. It turns out it has a sealed system so no one can access this to fix it. It is now junk and I have to buy a new one. I will never purchase Whirlpool anything ever again and I will also tell anyone who will listen about my experience. My repairman said this happens all the time, and 7 or 8 yrs ago Whirlpool went from being one of the top models to being junk.

We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine around January 2006, and from the start weve had nothing but problems with this appliance. Within the first year, water was leaking under the washer which was coming from a crack in the plastic housing of the water pump. I replaced the pump myself to save on labor. No big deal. The very next year, I started getting the F51 code and there was no way for me to get around calling a service company to have it repaired. $350 and one circuit board later, it was repaired. It remained working without fail until recently when it began giving the same F51 code. Let me guess, another $350 for better repair? I have to assume that the new circuit board that was installed wasnt any better than the original one that was replaced. I wouldnt put another $1 into this hunk of junk and Whirlpool should be ashamed to have this product on the market. I will never buy another Whirlpool product.

After purchasing 3 whirlpool items in the last 4 years and 2 of them breaking down a dryer last year, and my water heater today. I no longer have faith in your products. I am disabled and was a whirlpool customer, but after my recent experience with your failing products, I will not be purchasing any more! Its great your willing to send the parts for the water heater but, it costs $65 to have them installed. I bought from you because you had a quality item and obviously that is no longer true. Contact me if you still want me as a customer.

We bought this Whirlpool two door side by side refrigerator freezer at Lowes at what seem like a good deal, until the problems start. On the refrigerator side everything freezes just as solid as the freezer side. We get to looking and find there is no air filter/damper installed. Try to call Whirlpool and you can forget it. 37 Minutes wait time, then a recording comes back and says now your wait time is 47 minutes, long story short you just get put on hold. No help what so ever. Lowes did give us an air filter. But we still got rock solid fresh eggs in the refrigerator. So it was not such a great deal after all. My wife has one big headache and mad as a hornet at Whirlpool. Bet we dont buy another Fridge from them. If I were you Id stay away from Whirlpool products. Have a great day.

On 02/25/13 we purchased a Whirlpool Gold Series side by side (French door) refrigerator with an ice maker at the cost of $1,850.00. In April of 2014 the ice maker stopped working and the freezer at the bottom would not freeze food. Luckily for us it was still under warranty and was repaired. At the time of the repair, the repairman (associated with HHGregg) told us that the refrigerator should have been replaced since the cost of the repair was more than the fridge itself. Now July 20th, 2015, the same issue has surfaced. Again the ice maker will not work and the freezer wont freeze. I would not recommend this product or if you do pay the extended warranty.

The beat goes on. My Cabrio washer is still down. After working for a mere 14 months, the control board died, and the machine would not spin out water. The repairman ordered a new one. Though the part arrived several days earlier than predicted, the repair service said they could not send anyone out, until our scheduled appointment. At last, today, the repairman arrived. I am ready to start whittling down the mountains of laundry we have stuffed in every closet. Some areas of my house are starting to smell like a locker room. It is not convenient for us to haul everything to a laundromat, or impose on a relative who lives nearby. The repairman was in the laundry room for at least 45 minutes, and then very apologetically tells us that the part is bad. It will not work at all. He has ordered a new one, and requested rush service, which I think they will ignore. I cant help but think these parts are manufactured somewhere outside the USA. Well, listen to this Whirlpool, I would rather pay $25 more for this part, and have your washing machine work. Dirty laundry might seem unimportant to you. It is not unimportant to us! If you cant do better than this, make something else. I am furious, and will spread this news to everyone I know, and I will report on this situation again.

Help? WP Gold double convection wall ovens WOD93EC0AS rated very high by Consumer Reports installed end of February. Monday April 6, fan in top convection oven came on suddenly while oven not on. When I tried setting a baking temperature in top oven to see what was going on, message read This function is not available. After about 15 minutes the fan went off, and I could use the oven. Worked well Tuesday and Wednesday. Oven not used again this week, but this evening, Friday, same thing happened again. Process has been repeated several times with fewer times between fan turn on. Have turned off power to ovens until I can get a repairman. Has anyone else had this experience or know what the problem is. Have been reading about the problems with WP ovens. Wondering if I need in addition to Home Depot Warranty the one from Whirlpool as well. Had Bosch convection ovens for 12 years then self-cleaned and thermostats went out and cannot be replaced because parts no longer made or available through any supplier. Said I would not buy Bosch ovens again because the parts became unavailable even sooner. What a mistake. Apparently self-cleaning element blows a lot of ovens thermostats and/or circuit boards. Loved the ovens and had only one repair after the ovens were one or two years old. The Bosch dishwasher is same age and still working great and usually cant even tell it is on.

I purchased a Whirlpool upright freezer from Sears 17 months ago and it stopped working. I find the warranty is only 12 months. I contacted Whirlpool and they left a message on my answering machine that they would not be allocating any funds for the repair of this 17 month old freezer. I spent in excess of $600.00 and I am highly disappointed. I would never buy another Whirlpool anything.

This series is a complete dud. We purchased a home in 2015 that had a Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator. The home was built in 2013 and appliances were brand new. The majority of our neighbors, whose homes also contained this refrigerator, have had to repair or replace this model. None of the homes in my neighborhood are older than 4 years. We will not be purchasing anything Whirlpool associated in the future.

This washer is a piece of junk!! It doesnt use enough water to clean the clothes and now it wont spin them dry. I have maybe two loads a week on a regular basis. I have always used HE detergent. Never overload. It is only three years old and I have been having to go to the laundromat because I cant afford a service call and especially if it is what they say which costs almost much as the washer. Be ahead to buy a used washer or a cheap one. It wasnt getting the clothes spun out dry enough - dripping wet. Then it flashed od and ul and sd and f51 and then it kidnapped my clothes - couldnt get the door to unlock with the pause or power until I unplugged and still had to wait several minutes. They refuse to help. Do not buy this machine!!! The customer service was not one bit of help. Instead she wanted to charge me $350.00+ dollars for some plan.

I purchased dishwasher model #GU2800XTVT0 in May of 2009. Today, it leaked water all over and damaged my floor. My husband pulled the dishwasher out of the cabinet and found that the motor had fallen off. It did not have a bracket to hold it in place and worked loose, which then disconnected a hose. I called the customer service but they wont do anything because it is beyond the 12 month warranty. It only lasted slightly more than two years. This is obviously a manufacturing defect and we were just unlucky enough that it failed after the warranty had expired. The most ironic thing is that my husband worked for Whirlpool for 20 years. There is no loyalty here.

7 months ago we had a Whirlpool dishwasher installed into our home. While away on vacation the piece inside malfunctioned and caused major damage as water filled the home. Whirlpool claims, that because it’s a part that they contract out to another company, they “Whirlpool” are not responsible! If you purchase a product from Whirlpool and they put their name on that product, then Whirlpool should stand by its product. Well... beware, you’re not going to compensate from Whirlpool! We urge you, make sure of whom the parts of the product your buying from belong to, before you buy it FIRST! Never again!

I bought my microwave on Dec. 8, 2010 and paid to have it installed. On June 29, 2011, the microwave quit heating anything up so I called Whirlpool. They sent a technician out and he repaired the magnetron. The tech said it was defective. I accepted that but then on Nov. 8, 2011, the microwave quit again, same problem. I called Whirlpool and told them I thought it was a lemon and wanted it replaced but they refused and said that they paid to have it fixed. They came out and fixed it. Same problem, the magnetron. Well, here we are another six months later, it has quit again. I have been on the phone with Whirlpool. I spoke to a lady named Barbara and she said even though its out of warranty, they would be willing to pay for the parts, not the labor. Of course, labor is more than the parts. So, I asked her whats going to happen another six months from here on. When it goes out again, she said that that was it. They werent paying for any more parts. I asked her for her supervisors number. She advised me to write a letter and someone would call me. Well, a lady named Donna did call and she told me the same thing. They would pay for parts but not labor and the offer was only good for 30 days. Also, I have the tech talk to their techs but she didnt have the number and maybe they could find the problem. Well, the problem is its defective. Thats all there is to it. We could fix it over and over again but its going to keep burning out. I told Donna surely I cant be the only one complaining about this microwave and her response was theres no recall on it. Something needs to happen. This cant be right. We spent hard-earned money on this product and shouldnt have such a problem every six months.

Size was greatest consideration, then cost. Next was power consumption. Quality claims were of no value, since ALL are made in China/Korea. Korean made would be a better choice than China. Am satisfied, but not greatly, as refrig. bottom freezer died a few days out of warranty. YouTube video had my exact refrig. so fixed it myself. Bottom freezer drawer keeps coming off its slides, but I live with it. Top refrig. section freezes things on top shelf, but 2 and 3 shelves down, temp is 39 to 42 = cannot get even temp. As a former inspector, I know about air circulation, crowding.

I bought my glass top stainless electric Whirlpool range in April of 2019. It worked great until December 2019. Four days before Christmas my daughter was home alone and using the oven to heat up dinner. She smelled a terrible smell and there was a ton of electrical blue smoke. She called me at work and I told her to turn it off. My husband came home as I was talking to her and pulled out the stove. The place where the stove meets to cord had burst into flames. The wires in the cord were so badly damaged they were all exposed and singed. Our house could have caught fire! The whirlpool company will not stand by their product. They blamed it on the team at Lowe’s who installed the range...Lowe’s has been nothing but confusing and frustrating to deal with! I can’t believe how we’ve been treated. Do not buy whirlpool! These stoves are dangerous!

How would you like to be without a refrigerator for 10+ days? How do you justify 10 days without a service tech being available for what I call an emergency! Either you need to hire more technicians or make BETTER products. My suggestion is have a supervisor go out to a call first and access the problem. My case, a tech shows up after waiting 10 days, to tell me my refrigerator needs all the parts. Which means Ill have to wait probably another 2-3 weeks for the parts to arrive. Im sure the parts werent ordered to be expedited. Im beyond furious. We lost everything in our freezer. Doesnt stay frozen in coolers. When we purchased the refrigerator, just under two years ago, the service tech was out three separate times because our ice maker kept going on the blink. Finally, I purchased ice maker, because your refrigerator only makes ice when it wants. Not reliable! Second problem, the lights in refrigerator & freezer went out. Real smart to install LED lights that can only be replaced by a technician. Insane for the consumer. (Cost of lights replaced w/o warranty contract is $100). DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS UNLESS YOU ENJOY MISERY!!Why would you put glossy black finish on front of refrigerator, and the sides have black texture, where you cant see fingerprints. Has to be cleaned daily! Hope you can rectify the problem before two more weeks pass. Model: WRS322FDAB. SERIAL#: HR72710418. Not a fan of your lemon of refrigerator. I purchased a Cabrio high efficiency washer in 2011 and have had the glass top lid crack twice. The hinge is rusted, shedding rust all over the corner of the washer. It is a design flaw, for I see others have had the same problem with this particular year. I have also looked at the newer versions of the Cabrio and the lids have been redesigned. This lid should be recalled and replaced with a newer version, because this lid will always rust and crack with use.

We purchased our oven new in a package deal with the rest of our kitchen appliances four years ago. The bottom heating element in the oven has already stopped working. Every oven I have seen in my life has lasted a minimum of 15 years, and most 20. All I can say is DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES! In the past 4 years, weve had the repair technician work on the Whirlpool refrigerator (once), dishwasher (3 times), and microwave (3 times). Whirlpool cabrio wtw7800xwo - During the 12th month of the use of this washer, the lid broke. I called Whirlpool to schedule a repair on it. I got someone here to repair it, and it was 7 days over the 1 year warranty. I don’t think this is fair when they sent the repair guy out too late when I scheduled this right before the 1 year was up. I came about looking this up online, and I find I’m not the only one with a 1 year lid. My next washer will be a 1980s built to last. This was the worst $1,100 I ever spent. I had to choose 1 star. Wish it had a choice of - ★★★★★.

Bought this washer NEW 4 yrs ago. Now sounds like a freight train in the house when in use. Whirlpool customer service is absolutely USELESS!!! They do not stand behind their product and refuse to acknowledge what is a common issue. PISS POOR and will NOT give me a number to a higher up. Absolute disgrace!!!UPDATED ON 10/28/2015: This is an update to my previous review. 1st, I contacted Whirlpool who was absolutely NO help whatsoever and the person I spoke to refused to put me through to higher ups on the food chain. I was wrong in my previous review when I stated that we purchased the washer & dryer 4 yrs ago. It was purchased in January 2012. Started making noise in 2014 and has progressively turned into the sound of a freight train. I also failed to mention the stench that comes from this machine. It has also got to the point where it quits with 10 minutes to go in every wash. Whirlpool did send out a Whirlpool certified technician, which they paid for, who stated this has been a common issue with these and other models of Whirlpool Cabrio wash machines. Says in his 3 yrs with the company he has seen and diagnosed over 30 machines with basically the same issues (bearings are SHOT) and Whirlpool refuses to accept any responsibility for the defective design and that, in his opinion, they shouldve never been released. He gave me an estimate of $257.13 to repair. We decided to go ahead with the repair and technician came out only to tell me that there has been a re-work in the design of the replacement parts as Whirlpool realized they were faulty. So I now have to wait for the NEW designed replacement parts to come in as they are back ordered. WTF does that mean??? Shouldnt there be a RE-CALL and shouldnt they accept responsibility for this??? This has been, without a doubt, the most disappointment weve had with any purchase of a NEW appliance or, anything else for that matter, in our lives. After reading through some of these same complaints Im wondering if this machine is nothing, but a money pit and whats going to go wrong next. We also purchased the Cabrio dryer at the same time and have had no issues with it as of this time, but I assure you, I wait with baited breath. Their customer service department is piss poor AT BEST!! Please, stay away from ALL Whirlpool appliances in the future.

I purchased a Whirlpool gas hot water heater in July 2012 and have had to replace the control/pilot light mechanism every 6 months since then. Whirlpools customer service is the worst service in the world. They are rude. I have followed their instructions every time and have been accused of being uncooperative. I paid $350 to $400 for my heater and just spent $200.00 to have a plumber put apple cider vinegar in my tank.I was told by Whirlpool that the calcium sediment was causing the problem... I drained this tank twice and there was no sediment in the tank. This is evidently a common error for Whirlpool tanks. I will never purchase any Whirlpool product again and will tell others that their products are crap. The worst part was the inconsiderate customer service. I dont know who trains them, but they need to fire the entire bunch. Shame on you Whirlpool!
