I purchased a Whirlpool French door fridge 6 years ago. In less than a year, it was not cooling and I was able to retroactively purchase an extended warranty which ended up saving me a ton. Less than 3 years later it had broken 3 times with three different part problems with a total down time of 6 months. Despite saying it didn’t qualify for lemon law, I was able to get it replaced after presenting all the facts. 3 years later, the new one is now currently experiencing the same problem and running a toasty 58 degrees and my food is once again in coolers on ice. Shopping for a different brand and I recommend you do as well. Whirlpool used to be a brand you could rely on. No more.
This product deserves ZERO stars! I purchased a Cabrio washer - dryer in October, 2013. I have carefully followed the instructions for the washer. I am hugely distressed about the large amount of money I spent on a washer that is absolutely terrible, horrible, awful., no words can adequately express how bad this so-called washer is. The low-water washing has torn up all of my new towels in the matter of a couple of washes. It has completely ripped out the hems of the towels and pulled long ragged strings in the towel. And these were not cheap towels. I am mad at myself for not researching better before buying. I hope my complaint can save another consumer from the misery I am suffering because of this shameful product.
I have had this washer for about 7 years. I have not had any problems with it. I wish that it is stingy with rinse water. I see suds on the items before the rinse cycle and it doesnt seem to use enough water for a good rinse. Therefore I use the extra cycle.
Im very frustrated. I bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator for nearly $1300 in Sept. 11. It is a side-by-side Model #ED5KVEXVL00. The refrigerator side started warming up to the point that we noticed. We put a thermometer inside to confirm; it went up to nearly 60 degrees. We tried cleaning any dust underneath from the coils and even unplugged it for a while. The compressor appears to be the potential problem. Sears is not sending a repair guy for 2 WEEKS (It is a hot July here in NY)!!!!We are saddened that Whirlpool says it is out of the one-year warranty - so now we are facing the choice of a large repair bill or buying a new refrigerator. What a waste of money... Its not even 2 years and it needs service or a dumpster. Shame on Whirlpool for not standing up for customers when clearly there is something wrong with this machine so close to the warranty and so new. Sears and Whirlpool - youve lost me as a future appliance customer!!! :(
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer and dryer from HH Gregg and have had continuous issues with the washer. We have had the lid springs replaced two times since we purchased it and they are out again. I called our service company to ask why we have to continue to replace the springs very 6 months and they said it was a problem Whirlpool was having with this unit. I called Whirlpool and after being on the phone for 45 minutes, they told me there was not a recall, but I could buy the parts directly from them for 1/2 price. This amounts to about $20. The repair cost me about $200 every 6 months because it is a difficult installation. Whirlpool is a terrible company to deal with when you have a problem and they do not stand behind their products. I will never buy another Whirlpool product and will tell everyone I know the same.
We purchased a Whirlpool Gold Induction range, model#WF1910H0AS0, from Lowes Home Center for ~$1700.00, about 1.5 yrs ago. One night my wife was cooking dinner on the stovetop and she heard 2 loud pops and the whole cooktop went dead. We had Bobals appliances repair look at the range and they gave us an estimate of $800.00!! to replace the module board. The repairman said the module board had shorted out and burned. Thankfully my wife wasnt electrocuted. I contacted Whirlpool customer service, they said, There isnt anything they can do. The warranty is only 1 year. I also contacted Lowes customer service. They told me the same thing as Whirlpool, nothing they can do, 1 year warranty, etc. I have the part# of the module in the stove, W10390743, serial#31811552. After an internet search, this part # had been superseded, which tells me Whirlpool knows they have a problem. These ranges need to be recalled. I plan to contact the US consumer product safety commission to initiate a recall. Please inform consumers if they have this Whirlpool induction range with this problem, to also notify the Consumer product safety commission.
I bought a brand new Whirlpool fridge 3 years ago and it went out completely while on vacation. I lost 5 black bags of food. The compressor went bad due to it leaking Freon or whatever it is called. This is a recall on most models but they say not on my model so nothing is being done. So I will never buy another thing made by Whirlpool again.
I bought a Whirlpool Gold Series Microwave, model # WMH76718AW, on 2/19/13. It stopped working 1/25/15. It doesnt heat food anymore. I also have a whirlpool dishwasher that doesnt clean dishes. Whirlpool products are junk. Whirlpool customer service is awful. The cost of fixing this lemon and then buying an extended warranty for the repair (which they recommend) will make this a $1000 piece of garbage. They dont stand behind their defective products. Ill never buy another one again.
Do yourself a favor and do not purchase any Whirlpool gas heater product. There are numerous poor reviews on Whirlpool water heaters. The one I purchased, 50 gallon Whirlpool water heater; I had to replace the control valve three times. After the third time, (the water heater was less than 18 months old) I gave up and purchased another product. Whirlpool would not replace their poor product, but did replace the control valve, each time, which cost $100,00 labor each time. After the water heater was taken out, there were visible leaks on all connections. (A licensed plumber installed it.) Over a period of time, I lost a total of three days work, was w/o hot water three times for two days each issue. I hope I can save the next consumer similar difficulties with this product. Check consumer reports before purchase of this product. There are numerous complaints. Also, local plumbers can advise on how many issues they encounter with this product.
We purchased this washer on 2008-04-27. It ran okay until a few months ago when it began making strange intermittent noises. This is now happening more and more often. I reviewed a lot of websites and see that this is a common occurrence for Whirlpool Cabrio washers, and Whirlpool will not stand behind it and make it right. Im going to write them a letter mirroring what Im saying here, and remind them that other appliances in my house are coming due for replacements or upgrades. Whirlpool and its affiliates will not be part of those upgrades going forward. I have no patience or tolerance for expensive **, which is what they put out here. I will have to purchase a replacement washer since this seems to have two major areas of failure, both extremely expensive to repair. I might check out Roper and see what they have--its apparently very well rated by the folks that work on these things.
We bought a Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator from Lowes just over two years ago and have had trouble with it starting a year and a half later. It kept freezing up and the top refrigerator compartment wouldnt get cold. We had to defrost it every three months. Now it doesnt even work. This expensive unit is less than two and a half years old and Whirlpool expects us to pay for the repairs. What happened to the days when a refrigerator would last 30 years? I hate to say it but be smart and buy Japanese. At least they take pride in what they make.
Owned it for approximately 15 years and has never had any problems with it all. I would highly recommend this product because it is affordable and easy to care for. It even comes with a filter for water. Great refrigerator.
I used my self cleaning oven feature and the fuse blew, leaving my oven with no electric current. I had to replace the fuse at a cost of almost $300 two months after the one year warranty of the oven expired. The technician suggested I no longer use the self cleaning feature since it will continue to melt the fuse wire. The oven becomes too hot, so I have an oven that I paid for with a feature I cannot use. I would not recommend this product.
Whirlpool Gold model WRS526SIAHOO - We purchased this refrigerator 10/2013 with all the matching appliances when we remodeled the kitchen. We moved our 1997 GE refrigerator into the garage. Now the computer board has gone out in the Whirlpool and we are back to using the 97 GE. The technician told me that he sees a lot of these boards going bad.
I purchased a total of four Whirlpool appliances in June of 2008. Almost thirteen months after the installation of all four appliances, I experienced a problem with the control panel on the Gas Range GW397LXUB, and a sensor control problem with the Microwave GH5184XPB5. Fortunately, Whirlpool agreed to repair the appliances at no charge because it was so close to the end of the warranty. The microwave was an easy fix and simply had to be unplugged, reset and plugged back in. However, the entire electronic control panel had to be replaced on the gas range. Several of the buttons simply stopped working and I was only able to bake at 350 degrees. Again, almost thirteen months after the installation of the new control panel, it happened again. Same buttons stopped working. When I contacted Whirlpool, they refused to replace the part because I was no longer under warranty. Whirlpool refused to admit that there was a problem with the control panel, so I guess it was a crazy coincidence that I experienced the exact same problem on both. I filed an official complaint with Whirlpool in hopes that if enough people do so, they will issue a recall. I am now experiencing a problem with my refrigerator ED5FHAXSB03. The fan vibrates so loudly that you can hear it throughout the entire house.
We have several Whirlpool products in our home currently and have been very satisfied with their performances. We have their fridge, stove/oven, microwave and dishwasher, all of various ages. We purchased them from a local big box building supply company and installed them our self. The installation directions are clear and simply for the average D-I-Yer. We would recommend Whirlpool to everyone shopping for these home appliances.
I have had my Cabrio set for two years only and the washer has a error code of F6 and E3... pretty much does not work properly and need to swap out main control board which is about 200-300 for the part. I’m very disappointed in this product for as much I have spent on it. My old school top loader lasted longer than this piece of junk! I believe the steam from the wash is going up into the control board and messing it all up! Water and electricity does not mix! Maybe they need to relook at their products. I want my money back!!!
I have a new Duet Washer and it is a nightmare. It keeps throwing the same F8 E1 code. The repair people have replaced five parts and been out four times. I feel like I have been scammed out of $900. I will never purchase a Whirlpool again ever!
We bought the Whirlpool refrigerator from Home Depot. The ice maker does not work. We get 2 cups of ice a day. Home Depot Told us we should get 8 to 10 pounds of ice a day. We call a repair service and they said we should get 2 pounds of ice a day. Still getting 2 cups a day. Call again and now they said we should get 64 cube of ice a day. So now Home Depot has us calling Whirlpool instead of them. Now we will have another repair company coming out. Waiting to see what they have to say.Very disappointed with Whirlpool for not backing their refrigerator. And don’t buy from Home Depot. You can’t return if you buy it. And I have a warranty on it and they have a lemon law 3 repair calls for the same thing and they will take it back. Not true. I will be calling once a week for 5 years until they get me some ice. They don’t deserve a 1 star.
Please do yourself a favor and stay away from both Whirlpool and this unit. I purchased it from a local dealership and paid $881.00 which included tax and delivery cost. In less than 2 years, it broke. Whirlpool does not offer a warranty on the unit. After having a Whirlpool repair person come out for a cost of $75.00, I was informed that the parts to replace would cost $800.00 not counting additional labor cost which was TBD. I contacted Whirlpool and went from Agent (Phylicia) to supervisor (Ashley) to Manager (Carol **). The best offer I was given was to buy the parts at a discount of $400.00 which did not include tax, delivery or labor. So it would have run approx. $550.00 to over $600.00 to fix a $771.00 washer. My next letter is to Jeff Fettig (553 Benson Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022/ CIO of Whirlpool) to let him know how impressed I am with his product and customer service support. The next Whirlpool item I buy will be never. Take this as a word of warning to go Maytag or any other vendor because Whirlpool will not support you once the sale has been completed. Good Luck.
Retail price, $3100. Purchased from Sears Outlet for 2/3 of that amount due to dings on a side panel, back and some blemishes on the front. Still sold as new with a new warranty (Good thing!). Ive had full use of the unit for 1 month out of 3 that Ive had it. Freezer stays at a temperature in the mid-20s and, after 4 repair visits, it turns out the compressor is faulty and now Im waiting for the 2nd part to arrive and be installed to see if that corrects the problem. Sears stepped away from the problem saying it will be repaired. Whirlpool has wonderful telephone support that is totally committed to me staying with a faulty appliance until its fixed. My view is that a unit that expensive, should be no problem to replace allowing Whirlpool to take as long as they want to make repairs and re-sell it. But no; their commitment is to keeping the refrigerator in my house and running a service tech back and forth while I continue tossing food that cannot be used.
My NEW Machine Top loader HUGE drum. Have problems with clothes not looking like they’ve even been washed, Spun so hard they are twisted all to heck. And white stuff - my oxy powder maybe? Not dissolved. My old machine was a Kenmore 30 yrs old. Thought I’d be able to trust whirlpool but not sure. Am I missing something in the loading process. Seems to read something bout not Covering the knob on the bottom. Is this true?
After 1 year and 5 months, my old side by side Whirlpool refrigerator stopped working. The melted ice caused floor damage and ceiling damage of the floor under.
I purchased an 80-gallon electric water heater in 2009 with a Lifetime warranty. When the unit failed in 2021, I was told that Whirlpool no longer manufactures an 80-gallon tank. I was provided an R/A# and was told that Lowes should honor it with a like-kind replacement unit. Lowes originally suggested I order an AO Smith Hybrid online, (at my expense), return my old tank, and they would reimburse my account. When I went back to confirm this offer, it was adjusted to a $200 credit (suggesting that was the value at the time of purchase). Later, Lowes again adjusted their offer to cover $650 toward a replacement 50-gallon tank with a 6-year warranty and 30-gallons less capacity. Other manufactures do produce 80-gallon tanks and Lowes does have AO Smith tanks available online only. I would have to pay the difference beyond the $650 offer.I purchased the original 80-gallon tank because I need the capacity and I assumed the Lifetime warranty would allow for an even trade if/when something went wrong. The proper solution would be for Whirlpool/Lowes to offer a replacement value for any comparable 80-gallon tank regardless of the manufacturer. Currently, similar tanks average $1300-1500. (Westinghouse w/ Lifetime warranty at Home Depot). Lowes should also be able to order the tank for in-store delivery as opposed to having me order online at my own expense. Meanwhile, the current tank is leaking and will soon be out of service...
I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio top loader set in 2006. Honeymoon was over after the first year and I had to change the dryer element then the washer with the F51 code six months later. Last year, I had to replace the heating element again! For the last six months, I have been dealing with the dreaded UL on the washer. I cant afford to pay a technician $100 to come out and tell me whats wrong let alone what they will charge to repair a problem that, from the looks of this message board, will never be fixed. I have no choice but to get it fixed in order to sell the ** machine. I paid $1400 for this brand new set and have already invested $500 in repairs. How is this possible? I had a 20-year-old machine prior to this and never had an issue. There are lemon laws for cars, why arent there any for appliances over a certain amount? How in this day and age can a company be allowed to sell such garbage? I will never, ever buy another Whirlpool appliance as long as I live. Any other brand can have my money any day.
Whirlpool corporation is one of the worst company Im dealing with, we bought a new home and had new Whirlpool appliance incorrectly installed in Sept 2018, I raised a ticket in Oct 2018 for my dishwasher which doesnt open properly, flamingo services in Atlanta came and unplugged dishwasher saying its not installed properly. I wait for more than 30 days for parts to arrive and my dishwasher to be fixed. Called Whirlpool/Flamingo. Both dont give confirmation as to when the parts will arrive (note they havent been shipped by distributor). Wow seriously??? Please Im already facing inconvenience since more than month on a brand New appliance. They say no compensation no replacement. Only I will have to wait indefinite time for dishwasher to be shipped and repaired. So much of inconvenience and customer service says she will not call me back and I will have to follow up? What service is this, infinite wait??? Mine is still in warranty, #Georgia #cumming
We had an old Whirlpool dishwasher that worked great for over 20 years. It had the ole tried and true knobs in front. We replaced it with another Whirlpool when we updated the kitchen. That one had the new electronic panel in front, it lasted 6 years then we had all kinds of problems and finally replaced it with a Bosch, also with a electronic control panel. We have had this one 4 years and it is not working at all. Wont start and keep a cycle on. Spent $500 on it and its a piece of crap. Thousands of complaints on the internet for these new types of dishwashers. The electronic controls panel are faulty, and probably get wet from repeated use. Go back to the knobs. They worked for years and years!
We get the error code F1 in the start of the cycle and when there is 21 minutes left, we have to stop and reset at least 7 times before the water fills. We put a new sensor in for over $200. The second problem is it goes off balance no matter what the load is. I was going to have it fixed (if possible). After reading all the above I wont waste any more money on it and go buy an old fashioned reliable washer. What a piece of money sucking machine especially when I dont have any extra money to waste down the drain. I wish I knew before. There are a lot of people this time of year I would have rather given the money for a needy cause. How disappointed we are with Whirlpool!
We purchased our new home in February of 2012 and found a good deal on a 6 appliance package from a local dealer (not box store). In these four years, had to replace igniter in gas range oven. Weve had 3 repair visits for the fridge, dead ice-maker, temperature imbalance freezing vegetables, meat drawer constantly falling off tracks, door shelf rails fall off and all shelf contents fall to floor. Dishwasher rinse dispenser has never functioned, never empties. Technician claims it is working as designed. Washing machine - 3 separate service calls. We finally decided to buy a different brand last year. Only the dryer and microwave have have performed as expected with no service calls. The package deal saved us about $500 but in just 4 years we have spent over $1000 (including $400 to buy a new washing machine). VERY disappointed in this brand.
I bought a Whirlpool Partner II 5 and a half years ago. It was always noisy and took very long to run a cycle. It started to malfunction after 2 years. We bought a new computer for it and a new control panel for the touch keys. It still kept not running a cycle fully. We found a YOUTUBE video that showed how to reset the model by pressing a combination of Normal and Heated Dry and that seemed to fix it for 2 years. It has stopped working again. Now it seems that the heating element is out. It doesnt clean at all, a scum film has covered the inside of the dishwasher and even mold spots are appearing. Ive had to wait extremely long times on hold to talk with an agent. My option is to hire a repair tech to come out and repair it and I pay for the parts. Seems like a bad deal since Ive already spent over a hundred on repairing it and a lot of hours. I will never buy a Whirlpool brand appliance again.
I bought the Whirlpool Duet front load washing machine. It was a piece of junk and I bought it 3 years ago. Sounds like a jet taking off during spin cycle and drain.Well, let me tell you, its terrible. It walks out of the space its in during spin all the time and the F Codes. Im done! Just replaced the pump and motor for the drain on the thing and unplugged it several times to reset it. Still is giving me F codes.Im done, I tell you! Done! This has been going on since we bought it!
I have had my Whirlpool Washer for many years. It agitates well and my clothes are always clean. They are easy to dry. The wringer wrings out all the water, yet they stay damp for ironing. You will love this machine. I am happy with it and hope it lives for a very long time.
I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Gerhard’s Appliance, Glenside, PA on 12/15/2011.There have been problems with the unit since it was delivered on 12/19/2011. The doors were not the same height. There were stains (which looked like rust) on both doors. A shelf on the door and one in the fridge were missing. One of the deliverymen adjusted the door height then, and the door has been creaking on opening/closing since. That door has been replaced, but the problem continues. The freezer (which has an icemaker/water dispenser built in) started to produce ice on the inside of the unit door and on the wall surfaces. Attempts made to rectify the problem were unsuccessful. A new freezer door was ordered. After the door replacement, the frost problem got worse. I can fax you a copy of all service contacts so far (at least 7). Please help me replace this lemon.
We purchased this machine new and took delivery on 5/21/11. We did not start using this until late August of 2011. In late November we noticed a loud noise from the washer. When we contacted the sales company that sent out a repair person who informed us the bearings were defective. We have been told the parts are on back order for another 2-4 weeks. It has already been 4 weeks since they were out. Whirlpool was no help. They first claim we must have overloaded the machine, then relented saying that things happen. Either way I am without a washing machine we paid $1000.00 for another month; yet they will not extend my warranty at least for the time my machine is down. I am now worried about the damage that this unit may have caused to my new home due to water leakage, let alone the added expense to due my laundry since I must now use a service to provide for a washing machine I own.
I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher in 2008 from Best Buy and purchased the extended warranty through Best Buy. First of all, my complaint is not with Best Buy (model # DU1145XTPBA). I have had nothing but trouble with the unit not filling with water, being noisy, and other problems. And then, my intelligence is insulted by these independent contractors, who are supposed to be appliance repair specialists. I found that far from the truth in most cases. They have a list of patented things that the consumer is doing wrong: not having a hot water heater next to the unit, using too much detergent, not loading it properly, and on and on. They must think we are idiots. I always would run the water from the sink till it got hot before filling. And I am a miser so I use less detergent than what the manufacturer or the detergent package says. Anyway to make a long tale short, it started leaking last week, so I assumed the door seal or some other such thing. But lo and behold, the door is rotted out at the bottom. The black finish has bubbled up and the metal is actually rotting away. I am from up north and it looks like my old Chevy 2 Nova rotted out. I called Whirlpool and spoke with several people and supposedly someone in management. They were, of course, sympathetic but offered no assistance or explanation. They offered to send a factory authorized repairman to replace the door at more than the cost of a new dishwasher. Are we that stupid? They never offered me a voucher for a discount on a new unit, which I am going to have to buy. I would not have accepted it anyway, as my last few experiences with Whirlpool have been dreadful. I will never buy another Whirlpool anything. The name used to stand for a quality product that you could depend on. But now it is like most things are offered to the consumer in this throw away society. And as long as we keep buying inferior products and only expecting them to last a few years, I am afraid that is what we will continue to get. Be vocal and let them know how you feel, even though they are probably yawning on the other side of the phone. They are without compassion and could not care any less. They are just looking for a paycheck and have probably heard a hundred complaints like mine, so its water off the proverbial ducks back. But when its their own job in jeopardy, perhaps they will start passing on these complaints to someone who will be willing to listen. Its a very bad experience and I will never buy Whirlpool again.
I bought a new Whirlpool gas hot water 40 gal tank from Lowes. I Installed it, but the pilot light would not light. So Cal Gas Co came out and said they did not like the new design, but that was how they were now making them. Gas is shot out from a pipe into the tank, however its fairly open. The pilot ignitor is similar to the one on barbarques that often do not last. You cannot get to it to light it manually. Several calls were made to Whirlpool and they sent a repair man out to fix it. You can imagine buying a new hot water heater and having it work part time. The repair man explained that the unit needed a new thermopile, but he could not put one on until whirlpool authorized it, which they would not. After a rather heated conversation with whirlpool they agreed to FedEx a part overnight. Of course the repairman could not wait for me to call and had to come back again. The pilot light still does not stay lit, and Whirlpool now wants to talk about how the tank is vented. This has nothing to do with the pilot light, nor did putting in a new 1/2 gas line and valve as per Whirlpools request. Whirlpool has a problem and they refuse to acknowledge it. However, it is Lowes that chose to buy from whirlpool and they do little if anything to stand behind their product and gain consumer confidence. My suggestion would be dont buy whirlpool, and shop at Home Depot.
This product is just DISAPPOINTING. The gas knobs got stuck TWICE IN 13 months only! The range is NEW! The first time 3 out of the 4 knobs broke, this time only one. It would not turn off, so we are forced to climb on the counter and turn the gas off every time we are finished cooking and turn it on again. The company wont be able to send us anybody till next week, which will force us to go on like this for NINE days plus, of course, the time it will take to order the parts needed. There is not even a back up emergency service, which should be in place since we are dealing with GAS! I have heard complaints about this product in this area: in my opinion the range should be recalled. Of course, the representatives one talks to are all trained to keep calm and reply the usual things: Oh, I am sorry etc. but the bottom line is that neither the product nor the customer service are good (the first customer service person was not very friendly either). I highly recommend that you AVOID this range if you are considering buying a gas one with double oven.
This washing machine has not worked well from the time I bought it two years ago. It never fills to the amount of water required to clean clothes, it is always off balance, so I need to adjust the clothes at least five times per load. I end up wringing my load out by hand. The clothes come out smelly and not clean. After the cycle is done all the clothes smell like mildew. The other night while doing a load, it made such a loud noise in the motor and started to shake up and down, and then moved forward, like it was going to take off or explode. I tried to do another load, but after it filled and started to agitate, it started to make a loud grinding sound and there were 25 minutes left, then the timer showed 26 minutes left, like the computer in the machine is messed up. I had to empty the water out, wring out a load of clothes including towels, exhausting. The worst part is that the machine is finally paid off, I am a single mother on a disability and I am stuck with this piece of junk. I felt desperate so I looked up Cabrio washing machines to try to figure out what could be wrong, and then I find all these negative reviews, and these owners all have the same issues. Why has there not been a recall, or a class act, who can afford to replace a $700.00 washing machine every three years. I also purchased the Cabrio dryer which cost over $700.00. I do not trust that it will be any better in the long run.I cannot rate this machine as it has been a nightmare from the start. White socks seemed to come out with more dirt than when I put them in, and I am sick of using bleach all the time, the fumes make me feel ill. This is not acceptable, obviously this item is defective, and a prominent company such as Whirlpool should take the loss, not all the victims that paid too much in the first place trusting that Whirlpool was a reputable company, I will never give them my trust or business again. I hope to hear from you, and if there has been a recall or class act legal actions, please let me know as I want to be involved.
I had to re-arrange my kitchen and have my slider doors moved over a foot to accommodate this monstrosity. After about 2 years the icemaker and water dispenser died - had to shove a facecloth in it to keep it from making noise. The white color is very hard to keep clean. Overall, I would not recommend a Whirlpool brand refrigerator.
When you shell out the money for a new water heater you expect it to work the first time. Mine did not. Luke warm water was all that we could achieve. After going through the troubleshooting steps we could not clearly define the problem. So they ordered me the parts and sent them to me. The parts were for the old model control unit and does not mate up with the wiring that is in the unit. The representative was put back in that they had no idea how that happened. And, no wrench came with the thermostat just another thing to spend money on. I told them I have had it. Then they say that this is a manufacturers defect and they can provide me with a list of repair technicians in the area. I gave them one star because I could not give them zero. They should have lead off with the service technician. Still not repaired. I will keep you updated.
Great fit and easy for kids to use. Has preset buttons for easy use. This oven is sharp looking. Very easy to clean. This oven was a great value for the money. I would recommend this microwave to anyone and family members.
We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer duet exclusive to Lowe’s in June 2011. I was immediately dissatisfied and went to Lowe’s. They told me I only had 7 days to return it. They dispatched a service man and he said it was working as it was intended to but I would never be satisfied. If I had dirty clothes from farming, construction, or mining, I should forget about it.” The washer is an eco-friendly model and all the clothes do not get wet. It wrings them out very tight and everything needs to be dried or ironed to get rid of the wrinkles. After 6 visits and lots of stress, I am returning the washer to Lowe’s and they will replace it with a different model. It definitely will not be a Whirlpool. I am very disappointed in the service and response I received from Lowes.
I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer combo with max load capacity for comforters. This is the biggest set of junk ever. Where to start? There are so many issues, starting with the fact that nothing comes clean, no matter if I even put one small item in it at a time! The fabric softener dispenser is a joke. It runs straight through into your unwashed clothes before the cycle even begins. The dryer never gets the clothes dry on the first cycle. I find that I will rewash the same load of laundry 2 or 3 times and still not be clean and then dry same load 2 or 3 times. I wish Whirlpool had these shoved up their **! Never again will I buy anything by Whirlpool!
Our Duet Whirlpool washing machine is less than 3 years old. It would not always turn on when we would start it, or it would start and then it would give me an F70 error. If we pushed the start button again, it would continue to go through the wash cycle. There was nothing in the manual about that error. I called the service department and they could not tell me what an F70 error was either. The service department wanted to schedule a service call right away and offered me an extended warranty for $345.00, for one year. Since it was less than 3 years, and it didnt seem too serious (since the wash cycle would complete after pushing start again), I figured that it wouldnt be that much of a repair bill, so I declined. Also, I might add, that my previous 25 year old washer had only had one repair bill for a total of $200.00.When the service tech left, he handed me a repair bill for $741.00! I nearly fainted! He put in a new board. I immediately called the service department back and they said, Sorry, the extended warranty was a one-time offer and no assistance was offered when I asked. I could have bought a brand new washing machine for that price. Bottom line is, I would not buy a Whirlpool appliance again, and I would never contact Whirlpool for a problem. I would contact someone local. Had I known that a repair bill could have remotely cost over $300.00 on a new washing machine, I would have waited until it completely died and then bought a new one, and not a Whirlpool!
We have an 8-year-old built-in Whirlpool Estate. It is probably as basic a model as you can get. It has been 100% reliable, and cleans the dishes well, even without rinsing. We do not buy expensive premium dishwasher detergents, either. So far, we have required no repairs. Basic features--heavy wash, normal wash, pots and pans. This dishwasher is standard (not extra large.) This is not a fancy dishwasher--just white. It is what matches the rest of the appliances. We have been lucky regarding the performance of such an inexpensive dishwasher. We paid about $250 for it.
I love my Whirlpool gas stove and oven. We opted for the convection feature as we are a family of 7 and often need multiple items in the oven. This was a very useful detail. I didnt know I needed that. I now cant go without!
Our Whirlpool refrigerator breaks down after two weeks of purchase. I purchased a Whirlpool fridge for my son and his wife as a house and new baby gift. Just two weeks later, the fridge was not cooling and seemed to not be working. The technician was called, and he confirmed that the fridge was not working. We called the shop where the fridge was purchased from and advised they would not refund or replace the fridge. We are now forced to wait for a replacement part that could take up to 2 months to arrive. And there is no guarantee this problem will not reoccur with a new part, as per the technician. I called Whirlpool and lodged a complaint, but that went on deaf and ignorant ears. I am told to call the service repairer. I am sure there is a law to protect Australian consumers.I paid nearly $1,000 for a fridge that is useless! I would like Whirlpool to contact me, and tell me why they shouldnt be accountable for their product. I would like to return the faulty fridge, accept a refund and buy another fridge. My family are living out of an Esky, and this is a ridiculous way to refrigerate food stuff for adults and children in the heat of northern Australia. Whirlpool, I am waiting for your call.
Have an old Estate by Whirlpool, still going, no problems, washes well. I can control the wash by adding more water, stopping it and restarting it. There is nothing like the old washing machines. I have seen and used the latest and greatest, but they cannot compete.
Bought Whirlpool Gold refrigerator, microwave, and stove. The bottom where the freezer is located leaks if you dont slam the drawer shut - many times leaking regardless. The microwave needs to be unplugged/reset about once a month or so because the power dies - light comes on, food rotates, no heat. And the small stove light indicating the burner is on for the front left burner suddenly doesnt light up. 0 for 3 on satisfaction. Appliances are 2-3 years old. Did not get extended warranty. Everyone tries to get you to buy but didnt realize I was buying junk. Will not recommend or buy this brand again.
Here is my TERRIBLE experience: After only eight months it started to fail intermittently. Within weeks, it failed completely. I pay someone to come out and look. We get a part from Whirlpool. Pay extra to express ship it. 2 days later, pay to have it installed. Still doesnt work. Express ship another part. 2 days later, pay again to have it installed. STILL doesnt work. Express ship ANOTHER part. 3 days later - it STILL DOESNT WORK!!!!! Then they closed - wait another day. Now they authorize a complete replacement. Wait till Monday to PAY to have this one uninstalled. Haul it upstairs, into my car, back to Lowes, so I can get a new one. Haul it home. Pay AGAIN to have it installed.I was without hot water for 10 days and paid about 4 time the cost of the heater in labor to get through this MESS. I talked with Customer Service to get some help with how terribly unfair this was. Warranty Only Covers parts - should have bought the extra warranty... Silly me - I thought Whirlpool was a reputable and reliable brand. Boy was I WRONG!!! DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR THE NAME - NOT WORTH IT!!!!!! I also dont recommend paying extra for the Energy Efficient. Its added electronics that just give it more to go wrong. Plain and simple is the lesson for the day!!! And after the hours of frustration with their customer service - Ill NEVER buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live!!!
I purchased the Whirlpool Duet June 2011. Within two weeks, it was tearing my clothes. It didnt matter how little of a load it was, they still ripped. Five months later, my machine was leaking water. The repair man came out. I told him it was also tearing my clothes. His only response was dont load it to full. Well, I called the store where I purchased it and they are sending a repair man out again. I told them to either fix this from ripping my clothes or I was going to take a hammer to the machine and never buy a Whirlpool again or give them a good reference. I also called Whirlpool directly and told them of my problem and they acted like they had never heard of this happening before. I told them to search the internet because everyone is having the same complaint! I had a Fridgidaire front loader for 9 years and never had a problem with it eating my clothes.
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer brand new from Lowes. It did great for about 6 months when a terrible grinding noise started. Then it also would not spin dry the clothes - they would come out completely soaked. Repair guy came out and fixed it. Lasted for about 1 year - same thing again. Lasted about 1.5 years this time and now the loud grinding is back and my wife - who Ive heard cuss just a couple times in 20+ years - said, This ** thing sucks. The clothes are soaked. I cant stand this washing machine. So, Off we go to buy a new machine. Definitely not a Whirlpool though. Id give this machine 1 star because it does a decent job for a while but major repairs 3 times in five years is not what I deem an acceptable appliance.
We purchase Whirlpool fridge less than a year ago. Its still under guaranteed. 2 months ago we notice the fridge part heating up and food was going off. I went back to the shop where we purchase the fridge. They said we had to contact Whirlpool direct so we did had to wait 3 weeks for someone to come and look at it. Fridge is not repairable. Fella who came out did not report back to Whirlpool. I was waiting and waiting to hear word. I rang to see what was the story on it and eventually they said O we will exchanged your fridge and we will ring you on delivery date. Now Im over 2 month waiting on a fridge. Whirlpool is a joke. The company should be put out of business for what they do to honest people buying their stuff, and people who are in the same boat as me should go to the high court and sue them for all the stress they put people through. Shame on you Whirlpool. Disgrace.
We purchased 29.7 cu. ft. side by side in February 2013. Ever since we got it, there is an excessive amount of moisture that builds up in the refrigerator section. It is to the point that the bottom shelf must be dried every other day; otherwise water spills out the front. Most of the moisture forms around the cold air duct work leading in from the freezer. We placed collection containers under the duct work which helped a little. We also tried various temperature settings, still no help. We tried online support and were given many excuses for the excess moisture. Support advised to change the defrost cycle, which we did and failed to correct problem. Support finally threw up their hands and said to call for service. Unfortunately, we were advised since the unit was purchased in Florida and shipped out of the country, the warranty was void. Try and get service in the Bahamas! Ha! This will be the last Whirlpool product we will ever buy.
I have had a terrible experience with fridge Whirlpool. Two fridges have been delivered to me in bad condition. The first one was aesthetically awful (looked old and used) and the freezer didnt work so it was exchanged. The second one works and it looks ok but it makes very loud noises all day every day. I live in an open concept condo and this fridge sounds like a train for more than an hour more than 5 times a day, it is terrible. I have been calling customer support for a solution and first of all, there are no technicians in my area, and since the fridge works as designed there is nothing to fix so Im stuck with a terrible noisy fridge that I hate and destroys my day which I paid a lot of money for thinking that the brand meant quality but it doesnt. Customer support doesnt respect the customer and their answer that the first works as designed makes me understand that Whirpool designs bad quality fridges. I have never heard a fridge making these noises, not even brands that are less named than Whirlpool. For your inner peace, I recommend you to stay away from Whirlpool-Maytag fridges... If the fridge is in bad condition (but working) youre going to be stuck with it. The brand doesnt really mean quality and support... it just means more expensive.
Purchased a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator model #ED5KVEXVB07 in July 2012 from Sears for about $1000. Unit quit cooling late Dec 2014. I did not purchase the extended warranty, so the Whirlpool 1 year warranty was all I had. The repair technician (local company, not from Whirlpool directly) told me that the compressor had seized up, and the repair would be at least $300. I thought Id call Whirlpool just to see if theyd be willing to do anything for me. Long story short: No. I told the person on the phone: “I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance.” She said: “Im very sorry about that.” After I hung up, I thought: If Whirlpool was really sorry, theyd stand behind their products for a part that should not fail after only 2.5 years.
I bought a 50-gal. Whirlpool electric hot water heater about 6 years ago from Lowes. About every two years, something goes bad. So far, I had to replace electronic control board that sits on top of heater twice. Then the heating element went bad. Well, this time, the electronic control board started to smoke and melt. I was home so I smelled something melting and found it. What would have happened if I was not at home? I have dogs that are like my kids; they could have been killed. Whirlpool wants to send the replacement parts knowing this part is no good. Do not buy a Whirlpool electric water heater! Now, Im scared the next time I wont be at home to find the thing smoking. I dont have money to buy a new one. How many other people have the same problem?
My daughter bought a mobile home manufactured by sunshine mobile home co. in Red Bay al. The home is only 6 mo. old. In that home there is a Whirlpool microwave oven model # WMH2175XVB-1 Serial # TRY 20 23398. After 2 months my daughter microwave stopped working, Whirlpool sent a repair man out to fix it. He didnt have the parts to repair it so he left to order some parts that he thought might be the problem. When the repairman returned two weeks later with the parts, he replaced a door switch. The oven started to work. About 4 days later it quit working again. The repairman returned for the third time, tried repairing the oven and was unable. I had to help him remove the oven so he could take it home with him so he could try to repair it. At that time I was so angry that the Whirlpool co. would send a repair man out three times to repair something that was obviously junk. When I talked to the people at Whirlpool they told me all they were authorized to do was repair it. I explained the repairman has tried three times and couldnt and that they in good faith replace the unit. The answer I received had to come from a mentally challenged person. If this is the response of Whirlpool about their product, then I want no part of them in the future.
Whirlpool fridge still freezes water in the bottom of freezer... after five service attempts. We purchased a five-year warranty and so far, they claim that as long as the warranty is good, they will continue to warranty it. We now have three and a half years left. We have currently owned our refrigerator for just over a year (approx. 18 months). During this time, it has had the same warranty repair issue that has been serviced five times so far. We now have an appointment for a sixth time since RC Willey does not want to fix a lemon the right way. The first three warranty repairs were under the manufacturers warranty. We are now under a warranty (extended) that was purchased from the place we bought the fridge from, RC Willey.I want my money back on the whole deal. I was going to be civilized about it because I thought they were common sense decent place to buy from. I thought they would, through common sense, realize that this unit is a lemon and allow credit towards another fridge. In just the past two years, we have bought from RC Willey over $10,000 worth of flooring, appliances, etc. and thats not counting previous years.
I bought a new Whirlpool French Door bottom-freezer refrigerator at Lowes in September 2010. I started seeing ice form in the bottom of the freezer compartment in July 2011. I cleaned it out, thought maybe the door had not sealed good. In a few weeks, it had formed again. I checked for leaks at ice maker. I noticed a condensate was also freezing on the back wall. I called Whirlpool in October 2011 to see what could be done, since the problem began before warranty had expired. (The warranty expired in September.) I was told by 3 different Whirlpool reps that they would not cover any of the costs of repair, but they suspected it was the auto defrost system and they would be glad to line up a repair person. Most of my appliances over the last twenty years have been Whirlpool, and I have had good service out of them other than a microwave that had a recall and that Whirlpool repaired. I was shocked that Whirlpool would not back up their product any better than this, especially since it is one of their higher-end models. Im not sure why Whirlpool has a customer service (or disservice) line to call. They were very uninterested in helping me. I can call my own repair person. I was insulted by the manner that the helpline personnel spoke to me. My experience has convinced me to try a different brand other than Whirlpool for all my future purchases.
I have a two year old Whirlpool dishwasher. The soap dispenser cover broke shortly after the warranty ran out. It cost 100.00 for repairs. A year later, it broke again. I sent a letter and the part to the CEO of Whirlpool. They sent a repairmen to fix it free of charge. When you have a problem with a Whirlpool product go to the head of the company. If they get enough calls they will make better parts. Call 1-269-759-6919. Write a letter, return request receipt. It takes a little effort, but it helps a lot of people.
My complaint no. ** date 11/07/2014 till date 06/08/2014. Its noted solved by services department after 100 calls by me. They Reply no parts available from company so if you buy washing machine, be careful about Whirlpool washing machine.
Purchased a Whirlpool microwave for new home in December 2013. Model WHM31017AW-1. This is the second time the heater element has to be replaced. Im starting to learn the warning signals: open door and then a short time later the microwave would die a sudden death. In my 20s I purchased for my house in Boca Raton Fl all Whirlpool products... they worked forever. Now not so much. In order to get this one fixed again, I had to get a service contract for $300 which would be cheaper than getting it fixed again, heating element $400 and service call another $100. Serious $300 service contract money too much for a senior citizen. Never will I buy another Whirlpool product as a result.
Cabrio Washer and dryer are about 3 years old. With washer a residue is left on clothes and require an extra rinse, sometimes 2. Also, clothes become unbalanced and I have to rearrange clothes, sometimes more than once. Washer doesnt go through rinse cycle on own, I have to manually make it rinse and spin. Both washer and dryer have rust on the tops and the writing is fading.
We bought a Whirlpool cook stove with a black top in 2009 and this year, in 2011, while cooking a pot of stew, the stove top burner began to make loud popping sounds. When I went to check it out, there was smoke coming out from under the pan and pieces of glass that had exploded out in small chunks. When calling the customer service line at Whirlpool, they told us that it was no longer under warranty and could not be of help. Their only explanation was that they would only cover a new stove top if it had cracked or broken this way when putting a cold pot on a hot burner. They said their technician could tell if this was why the shards of glass were exploded from the burner.
I owned a Maytag washer for 30 wonderful years, so I of course bought a new one. I have battled with my Maytag (Whirlpool) front loading stackable top of the line washing machine for 2 1/2 years. It will not drain, yet sometimes it will. I have played every game with this machine to figure why. I had a repair company out 5 times while it was under warranty and they could never find the problem. It is totally unpredictable. If I could bill Whirlpool for my time and anguish I would own this company! They now say it is the computer board and I will have to pay $350 for a new service contract to fix the machine. I not very politely said that they should pay me for all my emotional abuse. They offered me another option saying they would pay for a service company to come out and look again. However, I would have to pay the labor and material cost. Since I have a stackable unit and it would take 2 technicians I would have to pay $90 for the second person. I was so mad that I called Whirlpool back and they refused to offer me that $350 charge and just said sorry. I are fortunate to have a lake house which needs a new washer. Guess what? It will NOT be a Whirlpool product. I wish I could go to the store where I purchased this holy terror and picket!
The control panel is difficult to use. It’s much too easy to switch power from the top oven to the bottom oven without knowing it. In addition, the plastic cover over the control panel makes it difficult to use especially if your fingers have flour or oil on them. It would be much easier and more accurate if knobs were used to control the all the functions instead of a electronic screen. Also, the clock has never operated accurately. Always runs fast. Temperature of the ovens is pretty accurate. However, it does take a long time to reach chosen temperature. Both ovens are large and able to handle an 18 inch round pizza dish. Other than the control panel, I’m pleased with both the gas stove top and both electric ovens.
Whirlpool wdf530plym4 - Bought this dishwasher 5/13. Sat for 3 months in the box while my kitchen was being built. 7/14 pump motor went out, called Whirlpool, they set me up with an appliance repair company, and I ended up paying $90. The technician was being nice, charging me less than he needed to since he said it was an easy fix. 1/26/2015 pump motor went out again. Called Whirlpool again. Lady on phone was very snooty with me, telling me it was out of warranty. Told them I was very dissatisfied, my dishwasher has broken 2x in 18 months and all she said was, I should have bought the extended warranty. Dishwasher is not even 2 years old and already needs to be fixed 2x. The most expensive part on the machine I may add. Going my average, I can keep dumping $130 every 9 months to have a working dishwasher by Whirlpool. I would understand if the thing broke after 2 or 3 years. I only run the thing 2 or 3x a week at the most.
WHIRLPOOL MICROWAVE HAS HAD MAGNETRON GO BAD 3 TIMES IN 1-1/2 YRS! I bought a Whirlpool Microwave Hood Combo Oct 2009. July 2010 the magnetron went in it! December 2010 the magnetron went in it AGAIN! This time we had to pay the labor to have it repaired because it was 2 months outside the warranty period. We did not want to pay because we knew having the same part go twice in one year that something is wrong with it. Whirlpool told us that if it happened a 3rd time that they would most likely replace the appliance for us. Well....July 2011 the magnetron went AGAIN for the 3rd time! Whirlpool told us to take it to a licensed shop to have it diagnosed to prove that it was the same part as the previous two times, fax paperwork from the prior two times, and have the shop call in the diagnosis of the 3rd time. We did all that, and they told us they wouldnt do ANYTHING for us because it was outside of the warranty period! Well they knew that when they told us we had an opportunity to get it replaced! THE SAME PART WENT BAD 3 TIMES IN A 1-1/2 YR PERIOD OF TIME. We trusted that the Whirlpool representatives were being honest with us during those phone conversations. Whirlpool can not explain why representatives would give us hope of a replacement (although each conversation is documented by their login and employee ID number). So not only did I buy a brand new MSRP $619 microwave, I paid to have it repaired the 2nd time, and to have it diagnosed the 3rd time, uninstalled and reinstalled the microwave each time, the inconvenience of not having use of the appliance during each occurance, and the unbearable suffering of calling in to customer service and repeating the story over and over to each representative. My house is brand new (we moved in to it November 2009); we bought ALL our appliances from Whirlpool. All I get for an answer now is sorry. That doesnt help me any financially having to repair and now replace an appliance that has been in use for only 1-1/2 yrs! I have seen $39 microwaves from WalMart last several years, so what is wrong with Whirlpools manufacturing?! Customer Service is unreliable, untrustworthy, non-sympathetic, and insanely frustrating! My question for Whirlpool is...why cant you make a product that lasts better (better quality=longer life=healthier environment and happier customers)? Why cant you stand behind your products better? Dont you care about the impact youre making on us emotionally, financially, and environmentally? The model # is GMH6185XVS0 Serial # is TRY3111264.
I purchased Whirlpool Refrigerator model WRF989SDAM02 in June of 2014. I began having problems with the ice forming into a solid block shortly after having the refrigerator installed. I called for service several times over the next year trying to rectify the problem. Once the warranty had expired I continued upon the advice of Whirlpool Customer Service to schedule their certified Technicians to work on the problem. A year and a half and several hundred dollars later I am still unable to get ice cubes when desired.Ultimately I was advised that I would need to use the ice maker once a day to keep it from forming into a block. When this didnt solve the problem I again contacted Whirlpool, had another of their recommended service technician come and give his advice. I was told that the ice maker needs to be in constant use or it forms a block and this is a defect in the design of this unit. A Pro Tech Appliance Inc. Technician, an authorized Whirlpool technical representative, said the only way to have usage of ice would be if I made sure to dispense ice a minimum of 8-10 times a day. This is completely impractical and just plain ridiculous. I contacted Whirlpool again. They refuse to acknowledge this is a defect in the design of this model. I have replaced all parts that can be replaced, had the unit resealed and have paid for multiple service call. Whirlpool will provide no remedy for this problem. Now that the unit is out of warranty they have refused to provide a resolution even though its issue began while still covered under the year warranty. The ice in the ice maker is completely unusable and melts into a solid block within 24 hours if not in continual use.
Contacted Whirlpool - unit (Cabrio washer 7600xt) is out of 12-mo warranty. Spoke with manager, Tracy **. She said they would not help - out of warranty. Called local parts/service center - ea. hinge is $42 plus shipping and labor to install. Obviously this is a defective design. The lid is too heavy. I was having a difficult time deciding to spend 150-200 dollars every 2-3 years for hinges on a $700 washer and then I read all the other complaints about Whirlpool washers. I will sell it for scrap and buy a better brand.
Purchased a Whirlpool Dishwasher in 2017 as part of a kitchen remodel. I have always had General Electric appliances, and shouldve never changed my brand. I had to have this dishwasher fixed a month after purchase (this shouldve been a clue that this was a lemon). Fast forward to two years, I know have to turn the power off to the dishwasher after 3 uses otherwise it stops running mid cycle and the re-set lights blinks. Ive had a repair person take the thing apart to try and find the problem (at the cost of $250) with no luck. The repair person contacted Whirlpool to see if they could help troubleshoot, the response he received was because it was no longer under warranty they wouldnt even answer his questions, hows that for customer service????
Whoever came up with the idea of this AquaLift oven cleaning method should be fired! This method does not work. Ive barely used my oven but had some cheese pizza drip on it so thought I should clean before using again. What a JOB! The spill did not come off the bottom entirely and using the non-scratch scrubbing sponge was a joke. There is some soil on the sides and back of the oven that I will have to use elbow grease to get off and Im going to have to crawl into the oven to see if they can be remove. Welcome back to the old days before self-cleaning ovens!
We purchased this dishwasher (Gold Dishwasher WDF60SADB) because of its low 49-decibel rating. It goes over 60 decibels regularly and occasionally up to 70 during operation (not including drain noises which cannot be controlled by the dishwasher). We used a tablet app to confirm. Decibels are not linear, they are exponential. 70 decibels is what your average shower or dishwasher sounds like. 50 is about as quiet as a refrigerator. You have to talk over this dishwasher. And yes there was a big price difference between it and Whirlpools next loudest rated washer.Whirlpools customer service says they will not replace or repair based on sound ever, only for functional failure. Bottom line, dont pay any attention to Whirlpool sound ratings. They dont stand by them and do not consider gross overages a defect. Fortunately the retailer (Lowes) does stand by what they sell and will trade for any other machine by any other manufacturer. We have only good things to say about Lowes in this process. This machine arrived Wednesday, and we pick a replacement Sunday. It will not be a Whirlpool. I will never buy a Whirlpool anything again. We said it will do X but we dont care if a brand new one wont is no way to do business.
Bought this washer NEW 4 yrs ago. Now sounds like a freight train in the house when in use. Whirlpool customer service is absolutely USELESS!!! They do not stand behind their product and refuse to acknowledge what is a common issue. PISS POOR and will NOT give me a number to a higher up. Absolute disgrace!!!UPDATED ON 10/28/2015: This is an update to my previous review. 1st, I contacted Whirlpool who was absolutely NO help whatsoever and the person I spoke to refused to put me through to higher ups on the food chain. I was wrong in my previous review when I stated that we purchased the washer & dryer 4 yrs ago. It was purchased in January 2012. Started making noise in 2014 and has progressively turned into the sound of a freight train. I also failed to mention the stench that comes from this machine. It has also got to the point where it quits with 10 minutes to go in every wash. Whirlpool did send out a Whirlpool certified technician, which they paid for, who stated this has been a common issue with these and other models of Whirlpool Cabrio wash machines. Says in his 3 yrs with the company he has seen and diagnosed over 30 machines with basically the same issues (bearings are SHOT) and Whirlpool refuses to accept any responsibility for the defective design and that, in his opinion, they shouldve never been released. He gave me an estimate of $257.13 to repair. We decided to go ahead with the repair and technician came out only to tell me that there has been a re-work in the design of the replacement parts as Whirlpool realized they were faulty. So I now have to wait for the NEW designed replacement parts to come in as they are back ordered. WTF does that mean??? Shouldnt there be a RE-CALL and shouldnt they accept responsibility for this??? This has been, without a doubt, the most disappointment weve had with any purchase of a NEW appliance or, anything else for that matter, in our lives. After reading through some of these same complaints Im wondering if this machine is nothing, but a money pit and whats going to go wrong next. We also purchased the Cabrio dryer at the same time and have had no issues with it as of this time, but I assure you, I wait with baited breath. Their customer service department is piss poor AT BEST!! Please, stay away from ALL Whirlpool appliances in the future.
We purchased the Whirlpool Duet Sport matching washer and dryer new in 2006 from a local appliance store. The washer was around $1,000. The salesman sold us on the load capacity, telling us it can wash 15 pairs of jeans. We dont overload it, mostly because its a high-efficiency washer and doesnt use much water (Im still trying to figure out the concept of how can you clean a whole load of laundry with a little bit of water). Its very quiet, but the cycles take longer than standard washers. Also, you must use very little soap (too much soap will cause the washer to stop and display an error code, which youll have to call a technician to come and reset). It is now 2013, and the washer started thumping during a cycle and there was a burning rubber smell. We called an appliance repairman who gave us an estimate for repair of $800 to $900 (for a bad bearing/bearing casing and inner basket). Im sure that there was quite a markup on those parts! It seems to me that the older non-efficient washers lasted longer than 7 years, and certainly didnt cost $1,000 when new.
They stink. Major issues with most all of these Whirlpool water heaters. I have had issues with 3 different units. I own properties and these are pure junk. Cant find parts and have to pay for shipping on warranty parts! 2 years old units junked, Ridiculous... never buy Whirlpool!
What a horrible experience. I purchased a Whirlpool Duet HE Front Loading Steam Washer in 9/9. I have used it no more than 15 times. It has an error code F70. I called Whirlpool and used one of their recommended technicians. He was there for no more than five minutes and he informed me that it was one of the two parts--one is $300, the other is $500. Both these parts are computer chips. He instructed me to call Whirlpool stating that they would give me the parts for free. I did, and they refused stating that the product is now out of the one-year warranty. This is clearly defective. I am now faced with $1,000 fix. I feel that I was further misled by Whirlpool because they should have told me before the service call that I was going to have to pay $1,000. The customer service reps and the manager were both unresponsive and rude.
In the last two years I have purchased a new Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer with base, Whirlpool Gold refrigerator, and (less than a year) a built-in Whirlpool microwave. I have already had to replace the gaskets on the washer, which required a $65 deductible. I had to spend $65 on my service contract deductible for my dryer as they have had to order me a new motor and thermostat. My refrigerator had an appliance bulb as required installed; however, it still burns the plastic covering. I have not called on that yet. My microwave, which is less than a year old, has a small crack inside the door and part of the handle has broken off.
The washer has a convenient water level feature which enables conservation. The dryer also feature multiple heat/timing features, another conservation plus. Both are compact and easily loaded and unloaded. The multiple alerts at the ending of the dryer cycles are a convenience.
I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer in July of 2013. In the first 6 months had a technician in to repair it. Worked fine up until now. The washer fills up, the clothes just soaks there for awhile (doesnt wash) then drains out. It doesnt fully drain so I have to put it on spin and drain again. Any suggestions on what I should do?
I bought a Whirlpool french door refrigerator, model # ED5LVAXWS about five years ago. I didnt have any problems until last month, on August 25, 2016. The ice dispenser stopped working, and the refrigerator went off. I had to throw out a lot of food. I got a new extended warranty that day, and a serviceman came out the following day, 8/26. It turned out he wasnt a repairman, just someone to diagnosis the problem and order the parts. The part was ordered, and the fridge would be repaired within 5 days, but the part was delayed because of a Hurricane Hermine, which completely understandable. On 9/8 the repairman arrived, but he realized that the original guy who diagnosed the problem was in error. He had ordered a compressor, and what needed to be replaced was the thermostat. As of today, 9/29, the part is still not in -- I was told its on backorder with no ETA. If I didnt have a mini fridge, Id be at a complete loss. I called what I thought was Whirlpool to complain about the part taking so long to arrive, but was told they can do nothing. It turns out that a company called AIG U.S. Warranty Division handles Whirlpools guarantees. I am not a happy camper.
In 2009 I bought 2 (yes 2) machines (one was for our daughter). I also took out 5 year warranties on both (good job I did). Within the first month on our machine the paddles flew off and after a bit of a debate with the insurers we had another machine (same model). Within a short period from date of purchase both machines had a number of faults - circuit boards, weights that came loose! and bearings going. There are other bits but too extensive to list. To be fair to the insurers they were no trouble (it really is the inconvenience of being without a washer and having to schedule time to get it sorted out). I will never ever buy a Whirlpool as all of these (3 in total) have been a nightmare and ours is sounding noisy again (it only had a new drum 12 months ago for bearings - yes you need a new drum for that £200 in all!!) so I am really glad that we have the insurance. When that runs out and the machine is dead (whichever comes first) I think we will will be buying either a Beko or a Samsung that are getting really high ratings. Anyone reading this might wonder why did we buy these in the first place. Well a colleague of mine at work had one and said it was fantastic (she had children so used hers a lot) hence me buying them (and they were not cheap by any means, so thought we were getting a cracking pair of machines....cracking, yes they might as well be as a chocolate fireguard has more reliability...WARNING DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE - IT COULD DAMAGE YOUR SANITY! AND FAITH IN HUMAN BEINGS TOO!!!!!
I love my ceramic top. My only complaint is I wish my knobs were on the front of the stove because I am short. It would be nice to not have to reach over hot burners just to turn the temp up or down.
My washing machine ruined clothes with tiny rips. Small rubber pieces appeared in clothes. This happened during warranty but Whirlpool would do nothing. Finally, the bellow completely broke apart after 13 months. Repairman could not determine problem until this time. Whirlpool would do nothing.
I purchased the Whirlpool touchscreen gas convection range and I do not recommend this product at all. The oven cannot operate without using the touchscreen to set the temperature and it has a mind of its own. Woke up in the middle of the night and the oven turned itself on to 550 broil. I called Whirlpool, they sent a tech out who replaced the touchscreen and the same problem is happening. Not engineered very well. The range would have been fine without the touchscreen, if only it had an old fashioned knob to set the temp. I do not recommend buying this appliance.
We purchased 3 Whirlpool Gold appliances, fridge, range and over-the-range microwave in 4/2011. Since that time, the fridge needed repair, the microwave door had to be replaced and the range had to be repaired. Now the heating element on the microwave went and Whirlpool will not fix the problem. We purchased the extended warranty through Whirlpool and they are saying it is not worth fixing. We paid $470.00 plus tax and install and now all they are giving us is $348.00. Since we have had repeated problems with these appliances, why not just fix the problem or replace the microwave??? What Whirlpool customer service told me was that would be options for us if we did not purchase their extended warranty. Tell me, is that fair? The cost to repair the microwave was $388.00 and they are giving us $348.00 - do you not think for the $40.00 difference, it would be worth to spend it to keep us happy. We will never purchase another Whirlpool product again and will tell everyone we know not to buy their products.
I have use Whirlpool washers and dryer for years. I had Washer and dryer that lasted me 20 years, even when I thought they were going out I had purchased another set maybe two years before and they were still running so I left them in the house I sold, I would recommend Whirlpool to my friends and family.
The washer and dryer, Cabrio, machines are not even 4 years old and Ive had to repair four different things! Literally just replaced idler pulley today, went to put a load in wash and F1 code appeared. Control panel, 350.00 for whirlpool or a technician to repair! 285.00 for part. I called Whirlpool and was not offered any apology. Never again will I purchase Whirlpool crap appliances!
I bought a WDT 720PADW2 dishwasher 15 months ago from Home Depot. In the last few months, it has begun to rust at the vent above the the handle. Whirlpool will not address the issue because it is out of the 12 month warranty period, yet is obviously a design flaw.
Whirlpool GX5FHDXVB03 french door refrigerator: Continual water leaks. Condensation freezes in bottom of freezer compartment then leaks out on to floor. Per repairman, this is a common problem with this model which theyll come out and fix (remove ice and run hot water done drain line for a cost nearly $150) but it will happen again and again, etc. I cant tell you how many times weve had to perform this task. This is an engineering design defect that Whirlpool should fix.
Good washing machine for 3 year. 4th year onwards your repair cost starts increasing. I purchased machine for 24 k. Now my repairs costs are 25 k. Each time the service guy comes puts me a bill of 7 k and above. The complaints to Mr ** goes to deaf years as he never picks the call. Their visit charges also are more and never give warranty above 30 days. How will you feel when you have paid more money on services ce than the product. I have supporting hills for all.
Love my new Whirlpool Refrigerator! Works well and no problems for the last year. Filters are pricey but found some at Lowe’s cheaper. Whirlpool stays in touch frequently emailing information about their products, some useful some not applicable. Would I buy this refrigerator again? Yes, I love the ice maker, it is quite large (enough to fill a small cooler), and the convenience of crushed or cubed ice is nice. Most people complain about the motors are loud yet we have not experienced that.
The electric Whirlpool double oven range seemed like a good choice for a single person. I bought it in 2016 around the same time I had some personal setbacks. After finding my emotional equilibrium I decided to return to my much loved baking. While I have no other complaints on this range the ovens are a problem for baking. The digital oven temperature readout doesnt reflect temperature fluctuations in the ovens. Once you enter your desired baking temp the readout never changes even after you open and close the oven door say to take out cookies. Given some of my poor results I suspect even when Im not opening and closing the oven door the temperature is not maintained. I was going to get an oven thermometer but the user manual says it wont reflect an accurate temperature due to way the elements cycle to provide a consistent temperature. Ha! If you want to bake this is not the range for you. My inconsistent results and too often wasted ingredients frustrate me no end.
I purchased a new Whirlpool stainless steel French door refrigerator MSRP for $2,500 in good faith. If something were to go wrong with the appliance, Whirlpool would fix the unit as applicable under their accompanying written Whirlpool Corporation Major Appliance Warranty for the duration of one (1) year from date of purchase. However, this has not turned out to be the case at all. As per their written Whirlpool Corporation Major Appliance Warranty for one (1) year from the date of purchase, when this major appliance is operated and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, Whirlpool Corporation will pay for factory specified parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship that existed when this major appliance was purchased. Service must be provided by a Whirlpool designated service company. My refrigerator was purchased on 10/27 and delivered on 10/28. Service repair performed by a Whirlpool designated service company was on 11/30, 12/30, 1/9, 1/18, 2/9, and 2/23. A future appointment was scheduled for 3/22. Whirlpool’s designated service company notes from 2/9 specifically state that the refrigerator will not run and parts were ordered. Whirlpool’s designated service company returned on 2/23 for parts installation and noticed that other components of the appliance were not functioning properly and proceeded to call the tech line for support. After hours of troubleshooting and multiple failures to function properly, the service company deemed the refrigerator as un-repairable and clearly stated in their notes that the unit was not cooling, there is a manufacturing defect, restriction in the units seal system, and the unit needs to be replaced. I was instructed that the tech line would complete the ticket, send the information over to Whirlpool Corporation, and I would need to follow up with Whirlpool’s customer service to set up the delivery of a replacement and haul away of the non-working defective refrigerator.Furthermore, the company (manager Wanda at the TN office), had already promised to replace this unit if the service repair performed on 12/30 did not fix the unit, which the company has never honored and has since decided to recuse themselves of this promise made on behalf of their employee. In addition, this Whirlpool manger (Wanda at the TN office) even gave me her direct phone number and extension to follow up with her. She has never answered any of my 10 phone calls over a period of 3 weeks and never attempted to return a single voicemail that I left for her. Since the promise of a replacement refrigerator, I contacted Whirlpool by phone on the following dates: 12/30, 1/3 and 1/16; 1/17, 1/19, and 1/30; 2/20, 2/24, and 2/28; 3/2, 3/9, and 3/13; and 3/15, 3/16, and 3/19. I as well have emailed them information they have requested on 2/20, 2/24, and 2/28.Below is verbatim of the last few Whirlpool customer service representatives that I have had correspondences with.2/28 (Tabitha): I have sent in your information for the PEX (replacement unit) since I see here that your unit is un-repairable. Someone will continue to contact you within 24 to 48 hours to go over the PEX process with you.3/2 (Brittany): I see we received your file on March 1st; however, it was denied because the request was blank. Can I place you on hold on a moment? (After a long pause) I apologize for leaving you on hold so long. Your records were listed under two different accounts on our end with one being linked by your phone number and another being linked by your address; therefore, all of your records have probably not been viewable. Upon further review of your information, our Whirlpool designated service company that performed service on 2/23 will have to call into the tech line to complete their notes before we can proceed. No, you cannot speak to a manager. If you wish to have a manager contact you, one will do so within 24-48 hours. You cannot speak to a manager because at this time there is nothing they can do to assist you; unfortunately, this process is moving along at its fastest place and there is nothing more we can do for you at the moment. There is nothing that we can accept from you to speed this process along, even though your copy of the service company’s receipts include the statements of work from our designated service company. If you wish to escalate this matter, you can write to Whirlpool Customer Relations Department at 553 Denson Road.3/9 (Kia, supervisor): Although our designated service company may deem your unit un-repairable, Whirlpool has to deem your unit un-repairable for a replacement to be issued. At this time, Whirlpool does not deem your unit un-repairable. You will need to contact our designated service company and have them forward over your information. I am the highest level of supervision for the company and if you wish to escalate this, you can write to Whirlpool Customer Relations Department. Their mailing address was already provided to you previously. At this point, our conversation is over. We will not be replacing the product as we do not determine it to be un-repairable. Thank you for calling Whirlpool. The information we have discussed will be documented. I am the highest level of management for the company, so your request to be transferred to management is denied. I am aware of everything you have said and I have documented this information. At this time, I am done discussing this with you and will now hang up the line. This kind of customer service is not only discourteous, but it is despicable in the upmost matter. This displays complete corruption in regards to the written warranties provided by Whirlpool Corporation that come with your Whirlpool product at the time of purchase. Currently as it stands on 3/20, my $2,500 valued Whirlpool refrigerator is just under (5) months of the purchase date and has been deemed as having a significant manufacturing defect, as well as needing replacement by Whirlpool’s designated service company that they hold a contract with. Yet, Whirlpool refuses to replace the unit and refuses to speak with me based on the ground that only their contractactually designated service company deems the refrigerator as un-repairable, but they do not. My refrigerator has not worked in weeks! From reading the Whirlpool appliance product reviews online, I discovered that I am by far not the only consumer that has suffered from victimization on behalf of Whirlpool Corporation. I saw numerous consumers who had purchased the exact same product (matching model number) as me, had issues, and Whirlpool refused to assist them. Therefore, I think that we as consumers need to take a stance to stop these unethical practices of Whirlpool Corporation and demand that they honor their written warranty for their products. This company’s abuse and neglect of their consumers is absurd.
This Whirlpool dishwasher is the worst dishwasher I have had in 45 years of using dishwashers. I have bought dishwashers, but now rent and so am stuck with this one. Initially, I complained to the landlord about the dishwasher not getting the dishes clean, so the repairman came and recommend replacement. Unfortunately, it was replaced with the same brand. The new one didnt wash any better than the old one so I pre-rinsed everything and the dishes still come out with sprayed dried food on them. The spray holes in the arms fill with food no matter how thoroughly I rinse the dishes. The silverware in the door rarely is clean. The filter is always coated with food particles. The top shelf is always worse than the bottom shelf. I have used inexpensive GEs before and nothing compares to the poor quality of the whirlpool.
Whirlpool gold series refrigerator leaks water from freezer after 14 months because ice builds up causing the door not to shut properly and rime ice forms over food. I called Whirlpool and theyve not heard this problem before and stated I should have gotten the extended warranty. This is ridiculous. The internet is flooded with people having the same problem.
Refrigerator making a non stop loud noise, model WRF560SFYH01 - Thought I was buying a reliable product with a good name. Should have read other customer concerns as it seems like the products last as long as the warranty. A few months after the warranty, my refrigerator started making a very loud noise. Repair person takes it apart as the diagnostics showed no error and his best guess was a thermistor as there was ice build up making contact with the fan. Replaced it and the total of the bill was $174.23 and this may not even be the problem. If it is the board not reading properly, very expensive.
Sent an e-mail to Whirlpool. They responded with apology. Sent a second e-mail telling them they should be paying the $300 for circuit board in a two-year-old range. No response. Also, sent e-mail to Geniers. No response. The impression I get is that neither are the least bit interested in the problem. Once they sold the $1260 range, they were done. We will never buy another Whirlpool from any store and we wont buy anything from Geniers in the future.
Had the entire kitchen remodeled. We bought a Whirlpool Gold French Door refrigerator from Sears, did not buy an extended service contract. The refrigerator has NEVER made an ice cube. The water dispenser in the left door sometimes works, mostly not. The fridge freezes the food inside, temp. set at 41°F. The entire ice maker has been replaced, several valves have been replaced, a service company rep. tore the back off the fridge, found some insulation misplaced, said he repaired that. We have been very patient. Three repair companies have been sent out by Whirlpool, two said the refrigerator CANNOT BE REPAIRED. Whirlpool told me the only resolution is repair.Whirlpools Customer Experience Center is a joke, they do nothing but try to schedule another repair call. Tell you how sorry they are about your problem but do nothing to solve the problem. Carefully trained to give you the BIG runaround and nothing else. You never get the same person twice or the same city twice. Patients exhausted. Calling my lawyer. I would strongly advise anyone needing a new refrigerator not to buy a Whirlpool product. You should also check the list of other brands they make, there are several. I wouldnt buy them either. Buy a fridge made in Japan by a Japanese company. They get it right and know the Quality Process.
