My wife and I purchased this Cabrio washer 6 years ago when we got our new home. I have replaced the discharge pump 2 times, and approximately 2 months ago, we developed a noise so loud it was like a jet engine landing. I called our appliance store and paid $100 for an estimate, only to find out it will cost $973.00 to fix it. When we bought this, I was told it will be the last washer we will ever need. Ill never use Whirlpool again and recommend no one else does, either. I wrote to your customer chat line and basically the reply was Sorry about your luck. I know Im not the only one with this issue.

Purchased a NEW Whirlpool side by side refrigerator (WRS965CIA) and it was delivered on 2-3-14 with a dent in the door. The retail store ordered a replacement door and this order was approved by Whirlpool. 4 months later, I still dont have the door. My 8 calls to the retail store say that Whirlpools Trade partner is not returning their calls or emails to get this resolved. My contact with Whirlpool was met with contact your Trade Partner. Vicious cycle and still no replacement door.

I purchased a Duet Dryer less than a year ago and it stopped working. Got the warranty people to send someone to diagnose it. The repair person ordered two parts to fix it (they took the control panel off the order for some reason). They sent a second inept person to try and install the part they did send and it did not work (He was the most condescending person I have ever met but that is another story.). Of course it did not work and they actually have to replace the control panel AND the electrical panel (which as you know was ordered by the original tech, but taken off the order by who knows?). Now they are telling me that the part that they should have ordered 2 weeks ago is on back order until sometime in May. All I am getting from Whirlpool is lip service and they honestly do not care one tiny little bit that I have a dryer under warranty that will not have been working now for close to six weeks. This is unacceptable business practices. For the record I bought the unit at LOWES and they too refuse to stand behind the product. Basically told me tough they have nothing to do with it. I also purchased an $8000 Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) Refrigerator 5 years ago and the control panel went out about 4 years later. They stopped making the part and I have to THROW away an $8000 refrigerator because they dont make the part for it. As evidenced above, Whirlpool products do not stand the test of time and when they do break (even under warranty), they cannot fix them in a timely manner or at all in the case of the refrig (not under warranty). I caution every reader of this diatribe to choose wisely WHERE you purchase your appliances and carefully select a brand other than Whirlpool (and its brand affiliates of Kitchenaid, Jenn-air, Amana and certain Kenmore products).

I have been unhappy with my Whirlpool Cabrio washer since I purchased it from Lowes. I should have looked online before I bought it and then I would not have made the mistake of buying it. The washer leaves soap deposits on the clothes and sometimes leaves a colored soil. It has ruined numerous clothing by tearing out hems of towels and wash cloths and tore a hole in a favorite sweater. I prefer an agitator in my washer. From what I read, I will soon begin to have other major problems and then I will replace it, but not with a Whirlpool.

This product deserves ZERO stars! I purchased a Cabrio washer - dryer in October, 2013. I have carefully followed the instructions for the washer. I am hugely distressed about the large amount of money I spent on a washer that is absolutely terrible, horrible, awful., no words can adequately express how bad this so-called washer is. The low-water washing has torn up all of my new towels in the matter of a couple of washes. It has completely ripped out the hems of the towels and pulled long ragged strings in the towel. And these were not cheap towels. I am mad at myself for not researching better before buying. I hope my complaint can save another consumer from the misery I am suffering because of this shameful product.

Whirlpool Cabrio - Clothes come out of the washer wrinkled, twisted and soap stained. I use the exact soap products they recommend in the proper amounts. Bought them in September of 2014. Wish I could return them. Too low of a water level that cannot be adjusted. Not fully rinsing the soap out of the clothes. Washing takes twice as long as with my former 25 year old washer. Dryer is new technology and energy efficient yet wont remove wrinkles from permanent press clothes.Uses hardly any water so clothes must be rinsed at least one or two times to get the soap spots off. Clothes always come out extremely wrinkled. Not all items can be put in the dryer so ironing is back in my life again. Some items come out so twisted and wrinkled that ironing wont even help. Dryer isnt much better at all and shirts and pants always have some wrinkles. Have had to bring some items to the dry cleaners to bring them back to a non wrinkled state. Whatever is saved in water and energy is more than made up by ironing and dry cleaning. The company representatives have sent service people out twice and they both said that the machines are performing as they were intended to. I do smaller washes and wash more often to try to get better results. I dont. Even though it is extra large capacity items such as blankets must be washed more than once as the water does not wet the entire blanket.

Problem resolved - This is an update to my previous complaint... The repair man arrived this morning and after resetting the thermostat, the water heater started up again. He explained to me that these new water heaters are super sensitive because of the new designs and systems that are required by the State of California. He said that all brands have to have the same system. He said that the new water heaters dont breathe as well as the old ones. In our case, he suspected that after being installed, there were probably some air bubbles in the pipes which tricked the computer into telling it that there was not enough ventilation, when in fact our ventilation was fine, but that triggered a total shut down! In my previous written complaint, I was really upset because I have not had a shower in 3 days and thought this problem water heater would not be fixed until next week. I was furious! My understanding is that basically the way the new water heaters are designed is not very well and there is nothing we can do because about it they are all the same, unless we want to go to a tankless water heater system which plumbing included would cost $4000.00... so we are stuck and hope this will not happen again!

I purchased my refrigerator (Whirlpool side by side refrigerator model ED5FVGXW507) in January 2013. We travel more than 6 months out of the year, so we have not had excess usage from the refrigerator. After only a few months, the plastic drawers started to crack. Now, after less than a year and a half, all my drawers are cracked, as well as all my door bins. I will be married 50 years in December, have owned refrigerators for all those years, and this is the first time that I have ever had a drawer crack, let alone all of them, as well as the door bins.

I bought this piece of junk heater (serial no. 0804T411536) from Lowes and had their contract plumber install it in or about 2008. Since that time, I have had nothing but trouble with it. It just doesnt stay lit. Every plumber who works on it tells me that they have numerous problems with them and they cannot repair them - the customer has to get the part from Whirlpool. And today the woman I talked to told me that I had to pay the shipping charges, which vary according to how quickly one wants hot water! I personally find that a true rip off. If you cant guarantee the product you put on the market, then dont put it out there. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance or shop at Lowes!

I purchased both the Cabrio washer and dryer because my dryer stopped working, it was old, and I knew that soon the washer would too, and wanted to modernize my set -- it was my moms old set. I was thrilled to get it delivered and should have had the delivery man from Lowes take it right back, when he told me they had just come from picking up one from another lady who was thoroughly dissatisfied with hers.Well, it didnt take too many washings for me to understand why that lady was upset! I really wish I had done the same thing! EVERY load of dark clothes have to be wiped off to get off the disgusting wet lint thats all over the clothes! Thats been going on since DAY 1! In every load, the clothes do not get completely wet and I thought I had combated that issue by having a pitcher of water always available to pour onto the load, so the sensor will add more water... That doesnt work, I now see!!! I just noticed last night lots of wet lint was on my fabric shower curtain liner, and I was thoroughly upset! I just never feel as though anything I wash gets clean. I truly wish I had come across this site BEFORE I purchased my set, and I would never have done so. Is there ANYTHING that can be done for people who have purchased these horrible appliances?

We bought a fridge in November 2013. Brand new, paid about $2400. After a few months, the fridge wasnt keeping our food cold, was leaking from the ice maker, and wasnt making ice. I called for a repair and about a week later they sent someone out. He assessed it, then came back a week after that to replace the part. Within a month or two later, the same problem. I called for service and was set up with a new company. The repairman called me a couple days later and instead of setting up a time to come in, he says its a common problem, he knows whats wrong, and he will order the part and call me next week to come replace it. A week passed, no word. I tried calling the man back, left several voicemails, and no answer. After another week, I call whirlpool again and tell them I heard nothing from the man and at first they tell me they cant do anything with it since it is an open ticket and I tell them thats not okay. They need to close it, he never even came to the house and assign it to someone else. After they tried multiple times to call the repair company themselves with no answer, they assigned it to a new repair company. Again, it was assessed, a part was ordered and replaced another week later. So now its been well into 9 months of having a worthless fridge. A few weeks after that part was replaced, the problem was back and I called again for repair. I was told if this problem is not solved this time I would be eligible for a replacement fridge. Obviously, it did not work so I called to have a replacement fridge at the end of August. I was told that someone would call me to set it up in 5-7 business days but maybe a little longer since Labor day was right around the corner. I waited, patiently. I called every few days for weeks until mid October and kept getting told it had not been assigned, they are really backed up, it will be just a little bit longer and they will send a message. Mid October, my sister in law called for me and she was told that it was denied because I had not had it serviced within the last 4 weeks. WHAT KIND OF ANSWER IS THAT??? Thats like putting salt on a wound!! I have had spoiled food, constant clean up of leaks, and constant wasted calls to get told that it was denied because it wasnt serviced in the last 30 days while I was waiting for a response from Whirlpool??? So of course I grab the phone and go off. They agree to reopen the case because it was denied for a bad reason. At this point, as I type this, I have been on hold for 55 minutes to speak to yet another supervisor because it has been 2 and a half weeks since they reopened my case and I am told it has not been assigned and the best they can do is send another message.

Whirlpool only has one repair person in our area and that person is a small business owner who works alone and is now in his 2nd week of vacation leaving no one else in his shop to do repair while he is out. Purchased a larger hot water heater after reviewing the offerings from the big box stores. Obtained a 40 gallon Lo-Nox type. No problem. Found that I did not have time to install and 3 months later had a company install for almost $300. Within the first month the pilot went out at least 5 times. Had the install company come out and take care of the problem. Worked OK for 2 months and now the pilot light goes out again. Watched the flames myself and find them to be yellow. OK, so try to see what the situation is, call the installer, then call technical support. I am in a basement, on a cell phone and the representative basically has zero patience, zero tolerance for questions, treats me like an idiot and probably has never looked at any of the guides but keeps harping on me.I asked 5 times for patience and guidance not to be treated like an idiot. As time went on it was clear that the representative has zero experience in front of the product or the information in the install guides. She kept calling it a manual and I tried at least 3 times to ensure that her manual is the install guide. She never did affirm. I stated I wanted my money back and she stated no. Whirlpool has a very skillful representative to keep consumers away. However this consumer is a small apt owner that purchases appliances, as well as hot water tanks microwaves etc. No longer will I purchase anything Whirlpool. Oh I will send a complaint about this rep, and she said thats fine send it to the PO box Total lack of product knowledge and not even skillful in a conversation asking for assistance. The installer also stated that this product has horrible reviews. I wish I had seen them before all of this. Total frustration and something unwarranted. I am out $900 and am replacing the tank with a Bradford white from the plumber. Lesson learned. Good bye Whirlpool, hope others stay away from Whirlpool everything. Choosing another brand is the only thing that makes businesses wake up and smell the money.

I purchased this Whirlpool, model YGY397LXUQ04, electric range in midsummer 2011 and used it very infrequently for approximately 5 months as we were away for 6 months during the winter. On approximately June 15, 2012, we found that the keypad would only register 350 deg. F for the oven if we pushed the bake button two times and the oven temperature would go up to 550 deg; F if we pushed the 7 button 3 times. In discussion with the service manager from Whirlpool, he advised that the stove was out of warranty and they would supply parts at no cost but we would have to pay the labor costs which in my estimation would cost over $200. After searching the internet for similar problems, it was evident that this problem was not uncommon. I am concerned about the quality of this product and if it can possibly be a fire hazard. I would not recommend this product as the quality, possible safety issues and reliability are a significant concern.

I have had nothing but problems since the day I bought this washer. I think Whirlpool needs to step up to the plate and take responsibility for the mistakes they have made. I will never purchase another product that is in anyway associated with the Whirlpool company. I wish I had my little washer that only needed a new switch back. My 15 year old front loader quit working and was going to cost more to repair than we thought was worth it. So, we went shopping at Home Depot and based on discussions with salespeople ended up with the Whirlpool cabrio toploader. What a mistake. I am so disgusted with this washer I dont even know where to start. If there was any way we could return it we would do so. The clothes come out wrinkled, twisted, absolutely covered in pet hair and detergent and fabric softener residue. Yes, Im using HE detergent, in the correct amounts. Yes, Ive read the manual front to back. Yes, Ive tried all the troubleshooting suggestions. No, they dont make a damn bit of difference.I would give anything to have my old front loader back. It was a great little machine that did a wonderful job of cleaning our laundry. Pet hair was washed off, I could lay things out to dry and they werent all wrinkly and did not require ironing. Just about everything that comes out of this cabrio machine that I lay to dry needs to be ironed before it can be worn. It is just a horrible, horrible machine and Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for foisting this off on unsuspecting consumers.

I think the whirlpool washer is a very nice machine. I think it does a good job of cleaning but still has the tub odor problem that a lot of front load machines have. As far as reliability it has done pretty well but I did have to replace the tub bellow and it is only 5 years old. It also makes a lot of noise so it is not a quiet machine at all. I have a two-year-old top of the line Whirlpool Duet Steam washer. Cleaning performance is adequate at best, but my biggest complaint is about the visible mold buildup that collects on the water dispensing plate as well as on the detergent, bleach and softener dispenser and rubber lining of the washer opening. I have cleaned the removable detergent dispenser weekly since purchasing. The water dispensing plate has a continuous buildup of thick black mold that can only be removed with a tooth brush and bleach and only a small portion of those openings are reachable. I have cleaned the machine with Affresh as recommended and exactly as the manufacturer recommends. Nothing changes! I contacted Whirlpool and was told this was normal for all washers in which some moisture always remains and that I should continue to clean and leave the door and dispenser drawer open to allow the areas to air dry. So, I have done all of those things for the past year and nothing has changed! I received notification that a class action suit had been filed against Whirlpool for this mold issue but have not been contacted in any other way. Not only is this mold visibly disgusting but certainly is worrisome from a health perspective. When I contacted the company a second time, I was told there was nothing that could be done and it was in no way a design flaw on the part of Whirlpool.

Whirlpool/Ikea Renlig dishwasher - Since installing this integrated dishwasher it has continuously destroyed the decorative panel door. On my model (they have recently changed in 2014) the steam exits at the top, this damages whatever it comes into contact with it. Today they are saying that it has not been installed correctly and that it should actually sit out from the countertop, i.e. jut out from the rest of the kitchen so that the steam can vent into the room. The panel should also be lower than the other doors of the kitchen cabinetry too. Hardly integrated and would be a bloody eyesore. I am about to call them back again and inform them that I will be making a scene about this in my local Ikea and with anyone else who cares to listen.

I purchased a 50-Gallon Electric Water heater in 2006, sure it lasted and worked well for quite a few years; however, in August 2014 my power bill started to rise dramatically, I live in Arizona and $300-$400 power bills are the norm in the summer months; however, a $700.00 bill will immediately be noticed. I contacted the power company and they sent a tech over who performed a lengthy diagnostic and determined that my water heater was running constantly thus accounting for the great increase in power, I contacted Whirlpool and received 2 heating elements (no charge) which my pricey plumber replaced. The problem still remained and I contacted Whirlpool again and again trying to get this issue resolved. I paid less than $400.00 for the heater installed and since Ive been having the issue Ive almost paid another $400.00 in labor costs trying to get a resolution. Ive decided to get another system and my only reason for posting this is to inform all that the Whirlpool heaters seem to be very problematic, like others Ive had plumbers decline my business when I inform them that I have a Whirlpool tank with the Energy Smart module.

The dealer we bought it from let us exchange it right away. Filed a report with the CSPC and am trying to find out how to file a complaint with Whirlpool.

I purchased all new, upper end Whirlpool appliances for our newly built home just 6 months ago, to include a side by side refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser, an over the stove microwave, a smooth cooktop oven/range, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a clothes dryer. We plugged in the new refrigerator, and after 24 hours of letting it sit and get cold, we bought $300.+ of groceries and filled our new refrigerator. We pulled the milk out hours later and it was warm, checked other food items and found them to be warm, too. I placed a thermometer in the refrigerator and it read 55 degrees. In disbelief, I placed a second thermometer in the refrigerator and it, too, read 55 degrees. Being brand new, only hours old, and clearly not working, I called for a replacement refrigerator. Our builder said we needed to call Whirlpool for a replacement. Whirlpool refused to send us a new refrigerator. Needless to say, we had to throw out all of our food for being dangerously off temperature, and we were less than happy about wasting $300.+ on food we could not safely eat, but glad we didnt have food poisoning. Not even the freezer could maintain a temperature below 55 degrees. While waiting on a repairman, we noticed that we were not hearing the refrigerators motor come on more than once every several hours. They sent a repairman out three days later, and he found nothing wrong other than a poorly fitting door, he said. He replaced the door hinge and told us our refrigerator would be cold in 3 - 5 hours. Well, it never did get below 55 degrees, set on the coldest setting. Whirlpool was called again and they couldnt seem to get another repairman out to fix my brand new refrigerator that could not perform its most basic function, which is to maintain food at proper temperature. Again, Whirlpool refused to send me a replacement refrigerator for this clearly defective refrigerator we were stuck with. We were told it would be 2-3 weeks before another repairman could come out, and then he would have to order parts after he diagnosed the refrigerator problem, taking another two weeks. We needed a refrigerator, like most people do, so we were forced to take this brand new refrigerator and stick it in the garage, not being able to sell a brand new refrigerator that wont get cold. Angry at Whirlpool for taking our money and leaving us with a refrigerator that never worked, we bought a Samsung refrigerator that we are very happy with - it works! After 2 months, our Whirlpool above the stove microwave has the motor turn on when we close the door, and it takes several opening and closing sequences to get it to shut off. We will be replacing this new microwave when we can afford to.Our ceramic/smooth top stove/oven, takes a very long time (at least 20 minutes) to preheat and the temperature in the oven is not accurate to the set temperature, according to my oven thermometer. The cooktop surface is inferior; it gets permanent water spots and it scratches very easily even though we use the correct pans and are very careful with it, and does not come clean easily. The surface feels rough, not slick like the GE Profile ceramic/smooth cooktop range that I had for 14 trouble-free years. I am using the same exact pans that I used with our GE, and we know how to be gentle with a smooth cooktop surface. After 14 years of owning the GE stove, the GE felt slick and smooth, cleaned easily, and did not have one single scratch on it. It looked as good as new when we moved, after 14 years of use. I will be replacing this inferior Whirlpool smooth cooktop range as soon as I can afford to, as well. Last month, right before Thanksgiving, our new Whirlpool dishwasher started making a really loud motor sound and quit working that day. It would fill water, drain the water and shut off. I once again called Whirlpool, and they were maddenly unhelpful. This time, they told me they would have a repairman call me in 5 working days to schedule an appointment to come and see my non working dishwasher. After 7 days, I called Whirlpool AGAIN, to ask why someone did not call me for an appointment. I was expecting a house full of people for Thanksgiving and I had no working dishwasher. I spent a lot of money buying these crappy Whirlpool appliances and am very frustrated. This time, Whirlpool told me that they could not find a service person in my area to service the unit. As if I live out in the middle of know-where?! I live 20 minutes from Austin, the state capitol of Texas! A 20 minute drive from the capitol building to my door! Whirlpool told me I could take my 5 month old, broken dishwasher to a repair shop and that the repair shop would need to call Whirlpool before they did any work, and that Whirlpool would only authorize a maximum of $150 to repair my dishwasher. They actually had the nerve to tell me that I would have to pay for the repair, and they would mail me a gift card in 6 - 8 weeks to reimburse me up to $150 on my new, broken dishwasher that is under warranty. I was furious!! Some warranty! The broken dishwasher is now sitting next to the broken refrigerator in my garage. I needed a dishwasher before Thanksgiving dinner, so I went and bought a Samsung.I realize that all makers can have a lemon, but all of my Whirlpool kitchen appliances are junk!! I will never own another Whirlpool product for as long as I live, and I will tell anyone who will listen about our abominable experience with Whirlpools customer service and the expensive, crappy appliances we unfortunately wasted a lot of our money on. Do yourself a huge favor, buy anything but Whirlpool! Thankfully, everything else about our new home has been great. Our new Whirlpool appliances will remain a very sore subject for year to come, I suspect.

The refrigerator is not repairable according to 2 different servicemen. The refrigerator just stopped making ice and not cooling all of a sudden. The problem seems to be inside the panel between the refrigerator and freezer portion. Its a side by side. First time I ever bought Whirlpool Appliances. To make things worse my Whirlpool oven does not work either. Even worse, the Microwave pretty much popped and never worked again. A Whirlpool microwave. The only thing still working is the Whirlpool dishwasher but I wonder for how long. Ive talked to Whirlpool and they said I only had a 1 yr warranty and they could not help. I am writing to their corporate office to complain. I have an old Maytag refrigerator that still works and puts out ice in my garage. I went to look at Maytag appliances and just found out that in 2006 Whirlpool took over Maytag. So I will not ever, ever buy another Whirlpool or Maytag again.

I wait for more than 30 days for parts to arrive and my dishwasher to be fixed. Called Whirlpool/Flamingo. Both dont give confirmation as to when the parts will arrive (note they havent been shipped by distributor). Wow seriously??? Please Im already facing inconvenience since more than month on a brand New appliance. They say no compensation no replacement. Only I will have to wait indefinite time for dishwasher to be shipped and repaired. So much of inconvenience and customer service says she will not call me back and I will have to follow up? What service is this, infinite wait??? Mine is still in warranty, #Georgia #cumming

I purchased my Cabrio washer in April 2011 from Lowes. Huge mistake. The washer has broken 4 times under normal family of 5 conditions. The last time was in March 2015 - the barring was stuck on the drum failed to allow it to spin. It was stuck to the point where the unit needed to be shop repaired. It took 2 weeks to remove and replace the fail part. I just called service again today for the same noise as last time. It kills me that I spent so much $ on a product from a well-known company only to have it fail so often.

My Whirlpool has been in use about three years. It was purchased on sale at a very reasonable price. My only complaint is the heat dry function which somewhat fulfills its purpose, but I usually have to hand dry some dishes. Overall, it is an average dishwasher that gets the job done. The best feature is that it is very quiet; you barely notice that it is running.

In 2013 my oven died. Upon doing some research my husband and I went to our local appliance stores in search of a new one for a good deal. We chose a Whirlpool electric range with convection oven. We have had it 2 1/2 yrs and have used it often... until today we had been very happy with it. While baking some French fries we heard a loud pop, almost like a shot, running to the kitchen to find the inside tempered glass shattered! Wow! Shocked to say the least we couldnt believe it. Called our Lowes store, to no avail our warranty had expired. They gave us Whirlpools number with no success. I am extremely disappointed and will probably never buy Whirlpool again!

Reading the many reviews of malfunctioning washers and other appliances, I wonder why organizations like Consumer Affairs and Consumer Reports do NOT help the many cheated customers form a class action lawsuit or boycott or some other means to effectively organize and force manufacturers to return the full cost of purchase, taxes, shipping, moving and repairs for 5 years for every product. The manufacturer have NO consequences for selling shoddy, malfunctioning but terribly expensive products. We are all being taken for fools by the corporations.I was stupidly brand loyal and bought a Whirlpool Duet front-load washer and dryer because we had to leave our perfectly good 28-yr-old Whirlpool washer when we sold our house. The first set of instruction is to pull the electric cord from a small hole in the back of the washer. No amount of pulling would budge the cord. Finally yanked with all my strength, heard a snapping sound and 12 of cord came out. Then no more pulling, yanking or tugging would produce another inch of cord. So I took off the top of the machine and found the cord tightly wedged in the fork of a plastic thing that looked like part of a stabilizer for the drum.A similar plastic thing on the other side was broken at the fork, the snapping sound I heard. Freed the cord with lots of effort, but it was still firmly stuck way down inside. Removed the back of the machine, found the cord stuck inside a circular thing with one tiny opening. Took lots of time and effort to free the cord from that, but it was still stuck. Finally managed to reach the plug, which was firmly anchored to the bottom of the frame with an orange lanyard. Cut the lanyard with a knife to finally free the cord. This had to be an act of sabotage by an assembly worker, as no way could the cord accidentally jam itself into 3 different places too small for the cord to slip in, and it certainly didnt tie itself to the bottom of the frame with a lanyard. The hour it took to free the cord was just the start of troubles with this machine. It did start and kind of tumbled clothes in an odd fashion, but when it went into spin cycle, it literally jumped all around the room, almost jumping out the door. The whole house shook and I feared the floor would collapse. That machine must weigh well over 100 lbs. even without water and clothes. Next load I tried delicate cycle which had a slow spin cycle.Same result, even worse. I had to wedge my body in the 10 space between washer and dryer and press down with all my 170 lbs. to keep the machine from doing serious damage to the dryer, walls and floor. I contacted seller, Lowes, and they said call Whirlpool. So I did, but no response. Before buying that machine, I read many horrible reviews of Whirlpool Duet machines, but I have only owned 2 washers since 1967, both Whirlpools, so I had strong but stupid brand loyalty.

I purchased a built in black stainless-steel Whirlpool refrigerator in June
I purchased a built in black stainless-steel Whirlpool refrigerator in June and took delivery in September 2017. It quit making ice in December and I was told to replace the water filter. So, I did - still no ice. Fast forward to May 2018 still not making ice so finally got repair person out under warranty. He could not figure it out so reset it and said to wait 24 hours and see if there is ice. There was no ice. AND in the morning the whole unit was not working - lost all my food in the fridge and freezer - NOT covered by warranty. A few days later a different guy comes and says the guy that was there is an idiot and no longer with the company. Again, this guy can’t figure out what the issue is between himself and the Whirlpool tech on the phone so he does his thing and gets the fridge on again. Still no ice. Fast forward to 6/20/18 repair guy has been out 3 times and not been able to figure out the issue between his knowledge and Whirlpools team on the phone with him. At one point it worked for a few days and then died again and AGAIN lost all food in fridge and freezer - NOT covered under warranty. As of today even though I have not had a fridge since 5/10/18 and they won’t be back until 6/28/18 and they are just shooting in the dark on the repair cause they never have figured out what the problem is Whirlpool will not replace the unit until this attempt fails. If this attempt fails then they will review/recommend replacement of the unit which will take 2 weeks. That means that Whirlpool is OK with the consumer being out of a refrigerator for almost 3 months or more, losing time and money at work to meet with the repair person multiple times, having spent thousands of dollars on the unit and losing hundreds of dollars’ worth of food. Not to mention the inconvenience and cost of not having refrigerator for a family with a working mother, 2 teenagers and a 90 year old grandmother/great grandmother. But, hey it’s the way the warranty works right?!

Terrible! I bought the washer in December of 2010. We began finding holes in clothes in March of 2011. We found that we had a small crack in our dryer. After trying to fix it ourselves, the crack came back. So, we replaced the dryer. After we replaced the dryer, we began to find more holes in our clothes. It was not the dryer causing the holes, but our duet Whirlpool washer. We had several drain error instances as well. We have had the service repair man out several times for the drain error problem. Ranging from a Mardi Gras bead in the drain pump, to several baby socks to a large adult tube sock. Id say its been at least 7 times. We had finally had enough of our clothes, which I would estimate to be at least $500 worth of clothing, the service repair man said he had never seen anything like it. That was in November of 2011. They said they would replace the tub and drum system but it would take several weeks to get the part in, which took us past our warranty. After numerous complaints, Whirlpool offered the best they could do, that was to extend our warranty (6 additional months). The first drum was broken upon delivery, so another would have to be ordered. There goes another week. Finally it came in. We were all but assured the problem would be fixed. Two days later, same drain error code! 3 more socks caught in the drain pump! Took the socks out myself after watching them do it so I didnt have to call them out again and pay the fee. Next day, there were more holes in clothes! Called and and they said they cant get a service guy out for at least a week! That was all during the Christmas and New Years holidays! January 9th, the service repair man came and said, Yep, its the same problem. We need to replace the tub and drum again. The part would be guaranteed to be in by Friday, January 13th!Guess what? Today I got a call, the parts were on back-order and it wont be until January 24th until they can become available. Seriously? Seriously?! I have a family of 6. Me, my wife, a 8 year old girl, a 7 year old girl, a 5 year old boy and an 18 month old girl. The piles upon piles of laundry are limitless waiting for empty promises. In the meantime, we have had to wash essential clothes (school clothes, socks, underwear, etc.) at laundromats, and friends and other family members houses. Whirlpool doesnt give a care about any of our problems. I come from a huge family, as does my wife. Together, we probably have 100 family members. I will crusade against Whirlpool for any and all appliances if this matter is not fixed and their customer service is not better!

My contractor purchased a Whirlpool NU50T61-403 water heater at Lowes. After several months the gas valve stopped working. Whirlpool sent a replacement gas valve which stopped working after a month. When I complained they offered to send another replacement, which I declined. They also offered to have it repaired by 2 firms which were very poorly rated on Yelp. Whirlpool stubbornly refused any other remedy. As I needed to resolve this right away because tenants were depending on having hot water. I replaced it with another hot water heater. In summary I wasted $570 for 9 months of use.

Sad that I have to file this review! After reading multiple other reviews on all brands available to American citizens, I have come to the realization that cheap labor and materials are creating massive appliance garbage in our country as well as financial rip off for us all. It needs to STOP! What has happened to doing things right!! What company is going to be the first to produce good refrigerators! Paid over $2000 for my side by side and it is only 5 years old and has a freon leak that cant be fixed. Repairman said will have to buy a new refrigerator. Pathetic!! Cheap manufacturing in foreign countries is killing our economy and our household finances. Be prepared to buy NOTHING that works! Yeah, thats what I work hard for and look forward to. On 2-26-13 I received my new Whirlpool Refrigerator, Model WRF989SDAE, KSN 4191832, 28.6 cu ft, french door for a price of $2500.00. November 2014, refrigerator stopped working. Though it was not under warranty any longer, the repair company advised me that the problem was a warranty item and repaired it at no charge. This process took several hours of work by the repairman and two visits. He advised that this is an issue with the refrigerator and Whirlpool is aware. Now, May 2015, only 6 months later, ice is building up on the back wall of the freezer and the freezer is running constantly and very loud. Bringing in repair person, hopefully before it stops again. Appears to be related to the initial issue. I cannot trust this refrigerator and would highly advise everyone not to purchase a Whirlpool refrigerator. Refrigerator needs to be replaced, not repaired.

Whirlpool model WRV986FDEM Purchased May 31, 2017 from Lowes. Cost: 2,638.10 including 229.97 for the 5 year extended warranty. We’ve experienced four failures in the nearly four years we’ve owned this lemon. The first failure occurred within the one year manufacturer’s warranty period. The three failures since then have been fairly close together. Control boards and mechanical parts have been replaced. We are now waiting for a “made to order” part, with no scheduled delivery date. When I pressed Lowe’s on the reliability of this fridge, I was told that if four failures occur during the extended warranty period, they would give us a replacement. Considering the delays in repairs and frequency of failures, this is unacceptable. Do Lowes and Whirlpool expect their customers to just suck it up and do without a refrigerator for months while we wait? The warranty is worthless without prompt problem resolution. Whatever happened to real customer service?

Whirlpool Duet Washing Machine model WFW9150WW02 - This machine was purchased new in Sept. 2011 along with a brand new dryer. We started noticing a rumbling sound within the first year, but both machines did a fantastic job on the laundry. Then last week, the washing machine didnt spin out a load of laundry. We called the company and they scheduled a service visit through A&E Factory Service. The technician immediately diagnosed the problem as a bad bearing and said that he had seen the problem frequently with this model and put it down to a design defect. The bearing is housed in a stainless sheath protected by a rubber seal, but the seal lets water in, which rusts the bearing. The cost to repair it was over $700. He suggested I call WP and ask for a concession, whereby the company would at least pick up all or part of the cost of parts. The service representative summarily dismissed the request, saying the company had no obligation to stand behind the product as the machine was out of warranty. I said that this was unacceptable. She was pleasant, but kept asking questions and putting me on hold. Ultimately, she said the same thing. Whirlpool was once a dependable name, no more.

We bought this combo at Lowes and was looking forward to their arrival. Unfortunately, we have had so many problems with both appliances. The washer is constantly having an error and we can only wash clothes on the quick wash cycle or else it will shake like crazy, get an error, and stop. We had the washer a little over a year when we had someone come look at it. We were told there is something wrong with the load sensor and it was going to be $350 to fix it. As for the dryer it will dry for a little bit and completely stop (no error) and restart later on by itself. I have been a devoted Whirlpool customer but not after this. Wish I had done more homework before I purchased a Cabrio washer and dryer. The washer uses so little water that I sometimes find dry spots on clothing when I take it out. How can it possibly be clean if it doesnt even get entirely wet? I now pre-rinse all of my underwear before putting it in the machine. I know the instructions say not to put in wet clothing, but if it breaks sooner, Ill get to replace it sooner with a more traditional model. I always use the lowest spin speed - anything else makes my clothes hopelessly wrinkled. I like the large tub for washing blankets and comforters. Thats about the only advantage I can think of. The dryer sensor quite often goes off after about 2 minutes if I use any setting other than the delicate or timed features. Ive had the machines for 2 years and had the dryer repaired once under the extended warranty I purchased. Very disappointing purchase.

I am a Licensed Plumber in Oklahoma, have been for 25 years. Our company will no longer work on Whirlpool water heaters, heres why. I diagnosed a water heater that the pilot would not stay lit, the thermocouple was bad. Whirlpool Tech Support told me to go to Lowes and buy the parts and send them the receipt and they would reimburse me. The customer was furious that I charged them for the part and I told them when I got reimbursed, I would send them the money. Well, I not only never got any money from Whirlpool but I never got paid from the homeowner who was mad at me and I didn’t even sell it to them. Beware, buy Rheem.

Three failures in 14 months. First, the detergent dispenser broke. Next, right after the warranty would have been over (fortunately, I purchased from Costco which automatically extends warranty for another year) the pump failed and had to be replaced. Now the heat element is obviously faulty because the dishes are cold through all cycles. So I have to call them back again. I have no complaints about the service company. They were polite and reasonably prompt. Just appears that the product is JUNK! I am going to Costco tomo and will explain the situation. They probably can’t do anything but maybe they will go to a better product for others.

I cannot adequately express my dissatisfaction with the Cabrio washer and dryer that I purchased couple years ago. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. That includes Maytag; Kenmore; or Amana products. I have had nothing but problems from the start. The washer sounds like jet engine taking off in the spin cycle. I found out the washer needs new tub bearings ~ $200. The washer is tearing up towels during the wash cycle not sure what the cause is.My washer will only wash clothes in certain cycles (bulk). I keep getting error codes in normal or other cycles. The washer takes long time to fill so it times out during fill cycle. I replaced fill lines and checked for blockage, everything was clear. The washer probably needs either new motherboard or water inlet valve. Not sure which, maybe both? It is impossible to wash a load of clothes without getting the UL unbalanced load indicator. I also have problems balancing the load. I have taken wet clothes out and put them back in with no luck. It takes hours for a load to finally wash. The dryer has had its problems. I just replaced the belt tensioner on the dryer because it was making a terrible screeching sound. The noise was very annoying. I am very disappointed with quality of Whirlpool products. However, don’t worry about improving customer relations because I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. P. S. How come you have not issued product recall? There are 1,000s of similar complaints concerning the Cabrio washer. Frustrated customer.

We purchased a Whirlpool dryer about two years ago. Unfortunately I havent had the time to compose a letter stating my dis-satisfaction until now. After much research and haggling we decided on the Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum model, a very efficient (we thought), and even attractive model. It has proven to cost us much more than we bargained for, as EVERY time I do a dark wash, which is usually two to three times a week I must re-wash the items once or twice after! All of the items come out of the wash with white spots all over. Thinking it is soap, I run the wash again on a rinse cycle: nothing changes. Then I redo the wash - this time not using soap. The result is a bit better, but I still have to take a wet washcloth and rub the areas out.I did voice a complaint one time to which I received a letter stating that I should read my manual, specifically the troubleshooting guide. I dont have time for this. Again, we purchased this machine for its cost and efficiency, yet its ending up costing much more than it should as for every load I do (of dark clothes), I have to do one or two additional. (No telling what is on the light or white clothes that I cannot see because of their color!) This machine has been a total waste of time and money; I will never purchase another Whirlpool machine as I am extremely dissatisfied with this product.

I completely forgot that I wrote a review on our Whirlpool hot water heater model FG1H5040T3 Nov in 2010 until I received an email telling me how many people read my post. Surprise, Surprise guess what we are having problems with again. You know how nice it is to have hot water anytime you need or want it. Well, not at my house. The hot water heater worked for about a year (Im probably being nice with the time here). Heres our problem now, once the water heats up the pilot goes out. It will not stay on. Ive noticed that if its full the pilot light will not come on, so we have to run some water to be able to light it. Well I called customer service, a waste of time. The guy told me that my heaters warranty expired last year and his suggestion is to go buy another heater. REALLY! All I wanted to do was order a part for it. He did send me an article with suggestion of things to check. Sorry, we already did everything in the article, another waste of time. It seems we are not the only ones (model #) with problems with Whirlpool. Whirlpool used to make good products but its not anymore. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again.

I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio model # wtw5500xw2 about two 1/2 years ago. Besides my clothes not clean, I havent have any problems with it until recently. Usually it doesnt spin. The clothes are left soak and wet. First the belt broke, then the lid lock, then the nut came off the pulley, then the splutch assembly. There was a few more problems in there. Now who knows what is wrong with it? It is one problem after another. It is a money trap. The CEO was just after money. There needs to be one big lawsuit against Whirlpool. After I find out what is wrong with it and the cost to fix it, I probably will just go buy a new washer/dryer set. And it will NOT be a Whirlpool.

We purchased the model WFC7500VW, 24” washer and accompanying dryer in June of 2015. Within a couple of months, the water pump went; also we continually had to take the front panel off and clean out the filter when we get an A11 code! Now we experienced an F06 code... This code means the washer can’t go into high speed. The repairman (Whirlpool recommended), told us that a new tachometer motor, etc would run $500-$800 with labor! He also said that the noise the drum made was bad. My dryer works fine (only complaint is the grinding noise it makes, which Whirlpool told me is normal)... I would like to purchase a new washer, but don’t know what will fit under the dryer. I do not want ANY Whirlpool product!

Our home came with an Asko dishwasher, theoretically a premium device though the experience was not the best. Anyways, had to replace it after a few years and decided to buy a Whirlpool under the assumption that if an Asko kind of sucks, being so expensive, it was not worth the money to spend big bucks on an expensive dishwasher. I could not have been more wrong! Bought a middle of the pack Whirlpool, I think we spend around $500. Complete junk. I had to use our Sears home warranty like 6 times. They replaced two times the computer board, all the sensors another couple of times, motor, you name it! Worst part is that all of the non essentials part that also broke off (wheels, and plastic pieces of the door) were not covered by Sears warranty so I had to end up using glue and all kind of contraptions to keep them together. Finally, when we decided to put our house in the market we replaced this junk with a Bosch. So far so good. Whirlpool actually never even washed properly, now with the Bosch we finally know what it means to have a dishwasher that really washes for real!

I have had a terrible experience with fridge Whirlpool. Two fridges have been delivered to me in bad condition. The first one was aesthetically awful (looked old and used) and the freezer didnt work so it was exchanged. The second one works and it looks ok but it makes very loud noises all day every day. I live in an open concept condo and this fridge sounds like a train for more than an hour more than 5 times a day, it is terrible. I have been calling customer support for a solution and first of all, there are no technicians in my area, and since the fridge works as designed there is nothing to fix so Im stuck with a terrible noisy fridge that I hate and destroys my day which I paid a lot of money for thinking that the brand meant quality but it doesnt. Customer support doesnt respect the customer and their answer that the first works as designed makes me understand that Whirpool designs bad quality fridges. I have never heard a fridge making these noises, not even brands that are less named than Whirlpool. For your inner peace, I recommend you to stay away from Whirlpool-Maytag fridges... If the fridge is in bad condition (but working) youre going to be stuck with it. The brand doesnt really mean quality and support... it just means more expensive.

My Brother-In-Law bought a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater from Lowes last year. The Water Heater was still under warranty and would not stay lit. He called Whirlpool and they told him to send them a picture of where the water heater was installed (really? a picture). They told him he could not order the replacement part which was a Thermopile because he had to have a licensed person install it? Really? In your own home? My husband finally got Lowes to order the part because Whirlpools only help was for him to purchase a new water heater and Lowes would give him 10% off a new one. Lowes and Whirlpool have a monopoly on water heaters. Whirlpool is the only brand that Lowes sells. So if you want your warranty to be good on a water heater DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

This ref model # wrf736Sdam13 is less than 6 months old. The doors have never lined up. At the top is a 3/4 gap and it is 1/4 at the bottom. This is a side by side. Sometimes the left door will open on its own. If you stand to the side and look across the front, the left door sets out about 1/2. We built a new home and purchased all whirlpool appliances and do not like any of them. Will never buy whirlpool again. Very dissatisfied with all – RANGE, DISHWASHER AND THE VENT HOOD. I purchased my new Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load washer to replace a Maytag that had finally given out in the summer of 2012. I wish I did more due diligence, but with a toddler and a newborn, I needed a washer asap. I severely regret my $800 purchase from Sears. It is now February 2013 and the machine basically only runs on two cycles - Casual and Normal. All the others stop in mid-cycle. Sometimes, the items are still dry or partially wet so I need to switch to another cycle to complete the wash. This is not good for Delicates or when I wash Whites, Heavy Duty or Bulky items which is one of the reasons I purchased the model. The cycle stops when the items are soaked with massive amounts of water. So I then have to turn it to the Drain cycle and start over. After a day of washing one load, I couldve done it the old-fashioned way in my utility basin sink and hung it out to dry ... I dont have the time for this. I am going to make a formal complaint to Whirlpool and to Sears. I cannot keep spending nearly $1,000 for items that break within a year. These companies should be ashamed of their lack of quality. I shouldve gone with the Electrolux and just dealt with the price tag - I wouldve been much happier.

I called whirlpool and talked to a customer service rep, he told me that I needed to clean the surface immediately after something spill on it. To make sure if I understood it right, I asked him You mean when I am cooking some rice and some water spill out, do I have to remove the pot and clean the surface and repeat that all along while I am cooking? Then when I tried to use my dishwasher it wouldn’t run. Repair person came out and diagnosed it with a pump assembly failure. Part alone was $222 and it was on back order. Extremely disappointed. Calling tech support, they determine it needs a third pilot assembly at $30.00 for shipping and $265.00 service installation fee by a certified Whirlpool technician. Worked one day! Im so done with this company!!!! I was promised a call from a supervisor with Whirlpool which Im still waiting on days later. Probably for the best at this point. At some point, Whirlpool should accept the fact that they should not sell this machine. Word of mouth spreads fast! Im hoping it will make a big dent in sales because I know then they will listen and act! I purchased it in 2006 for $800, thinking this Cabrio 6400SW is a dream, I can get more done in less time (at that time, there were seven in our family). However, problems within the first year, F1, but I was happy and still under warranty! It was fixed, only to start the problem again. This time, not under warranty! I really wish I had said yes to the extended warranty! Even the repair guy Whirlpool sent suggested it may be a good thing to get the extended warranty if I were you! I think he was trying to tell me something! My naive thought was, why spend more money we did not have? After all, it is a new machine! I did not comprehend that any company could sell and continue to sell something that was clearly a defective machine! Nor did I entertain the thought that a company would not stand behind their product! It is now 2012, I still have the machine because we have dealt with it and have/had no extra money to throw out at it. I have dealt with F1 for several years and did not contact Whirlpool, mostly out of lack of time to research what the deal was and if others were experiencing the same. In November 2011, after reading many complaints and frustrations on the internet and what results they got, I called Whirlpool. Using a level head, sugar sweet persona and a mindset of disbelief that Whirlpool would allow such problems, the customer service girl did her best with what she was told to reply with (meaning, there is nothing she can do). It is then that you ask to speak with a manager or director. I won in getting a repair guy out to fix the F1. They made it sound like they were doing me a onetime favor. The machine board was replaced, the repair person also thought there was an obstruction in the hose and he could fix it, but it would cost us money and suggested we try our hand at it first. We did find an obstruction and for one week, the machine was quietly working beautifully! Whirlpool even called to see about how it was working and my husband had answered that everything works well, not knowing that Ld is our new problem. Ld had started to pop up at the end of that week.So here it is July and Im so frustrated trying to get wash done. Im thinking of all the wasted time, all the wasted electricity and energy Ive spent trying to get this machine to work! My kids are trained to hit stop/pause if they hear it beeping. Some days we cant even get the clothes to spin dry. I try different cycles to get the machine to start and often have to cancel the cycle and change it to another cycle to get the machine to continue. Is there a smell? Yes, and I run the clean washer cycle twice in a row just about every other week now. That doesnt even seem to clean the washer anymore! Tangled clothes sometimes. Ld always, uL sometimes and a sound like it is trying to do something but is stuck. Lots of laundry to do! No money to fix it! Whirlpool needs to stop selling an inferior machine! I know one thing. Never Whirlpool again and I tell everyone not to go with Whirlpool Cabrio. Even one of my co-workers had one and bought a new washer (not Whirlpool) because of problems with her Cabrio only after three years! Do not purchase a Cabrio!

My agitator-free washer began tearing small holes in my clothing and sheets
My agitator-free washer began tearing small holes in my clothing and sheets about one year after purchase. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent out a service person, who ran a diagnostic test on the washer and said it was fine and I should learn how to wash clothes and load the washer, etc. The barrel of this washer has little holes and I believe that when it spins the clothing, some pieces may stick in one of those holes causing tearing. The service person also told me that my clothes were old. I guess that means this washer is not for washing old clothing. The tears in my clothing are in places that are very unlikely to tear, like the back of my jeans behind the calf of a leg, about half way up from the ankle. There are holes in my tee shirts at the bottom of the back. Even if I were a smoker, which I am not, I would not likely burn holes in those areas. Whirlpool obviously does not want to accept responsibility for this problem, even though there are many other people having the same problem with this type of washer.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Gerhard’s Appliance, Glenside, PA on 12/15/2011.There have been problems with the unit since it was delivered on 12/19/2011. One of the deliverymen adjusted the door height then, and the door has been creaking on opening/closing since. That door has been replaced, but the problem continues. The freezer (which has an icemaker/water dispenser built in) started to produce ice on the inside of the unit door and on the wall surfaces. Attempts made to rectify the problem were unsuccessful. A new freezer door was ordered. After the door replacement, the frost problem got worse. I can fax you a copy of all service contacts so far (at least 7). Please help me replace this lemon.

However this piece of junk does not stay fixed for more than a year, at best. I am a technician by trade albeit not on consumer appliances, I usually work on more complex multimillion dollar equipment; point being, I know my stuff.I have been throwing parts on this box like no tomorrow, Tub replaced, water director motor replaced, top railing replaced, small plastic pieces on top rack replaced. MTBF - Mean time before failure is 6-8 months and deteriorating over time. 2 issues are predominant symptoms of its failures, its either leaking or dishes dont get cleaned. I see the symptoms again and I am tired of fixing it so it going to the curb tomorrow. There is no way an expensive appliance like this (around 800$) can cost 100$ a year in parts to maintain (Note: parts only)... not to mind my labor and hassle ++ water damage to your cabinets. This is a horrible washing machine. All the clothes (and I mean small loads, medium loads, large loads) come out twisted and so wrinkled. I have never seen anything like it. I dont machine dry many items and so everything not dried that way has to be ironed. Also, there is white residue of some kind left on the clothes so the extra rinse must be used. How is that energy and water-saver sufficient? Again, the government EPA in its brilliance has screwed up another product. It also takes much longer to wash clothes, again, energy efficient? After reading the wasted time on other reviews of talking to Whirlpool, I didnt even bother contacting them. HE front loaders (which we had a Samsung that lasted 1 1/2 years before breaking down) and replaced by this top loading HE, are the worst. Give me back my old fashioned washer.

I will be happy to provide exact details soon but wanted to share I have had most of our clothes and household items-sheets, rugs, towels etc. ruined by this machine. And it is under warranty and Lowes in Dallas, Texas where I purchased it has seen the evidence. I rolled in with a suitcase full of different examples of ruined items and some photos. The repair person Whirlpool sent out was nice but not willing to document clothes and said the machine is fine after a few diagnostics digital checks. He did not run a load of clothes! And it takes forever to set up. My wait was over 3 weeks. etc. Lowes has been incredibly wonderful but states the warranty is Whirlpools decision and all Lowes needs is a RA (return authorization from Whirlpool) and Lowes is happy for me to buy whatever ever washer I like and even are willing to give me a discount as they know how horribly Whirlpool has treated me.The manager stayed on speaker phone with me for over an hour. My husband is a lawyer and I will further pursue this situation as Whirlpool hopes I will just drop it by March when my Whirlpool warranty runs out or give up from protocol internal exhaustion. As they have insulted me in every way... Even suggesting I sell the defective machine to someone else... And I said, How in good faith and having a conscience could I do that? Anyway after spending a lifetime it seems trying my best to get this resolved with a cauliflower ear from being on the phone for so many hours with their resolution leaders and specialists etc. It is obvious I am about to have to go on social media and do everything I can to Save others from this time waster, Save their laundry, etc. and Did I mention at times it leaks a little bit of water out the front. As it was the least of my worries as I was showing nice tech my expensive ruined 900.00 ski pants, ruined shirts etc. I think the machine cost around a 1,000 to 1,200 so... Will get back to you for an update. I have a whole file folder on documentation now and it is not about the money or the fact I cannot wash clothes. It is down to principle... On my third top-level resolution leader in MI. -Jim- basically had me read between the lines that I was dealing with a Fortune 500 company and would never win. He is underestimating the level of frustration and lengths I will go to not be taken advantage of as a woman, a career girl, a wife and a yoga teacher. I will be in Yoga warrior mode and this is disheartening as all I want to do is wash my clothes. Did I mention all my Lulu Lemon pants are ruined and I never put them in the dryer! Only delicate cold etc. Have them remain intact etc. really simple here but Whirlpool not standing by their warranties. And my whole home is outfitted with Jen-air, Kitchen-Aid, Maytag etc. which are all owned by the same company so I have been a very loyal customer who possibly just got a lemon. Or standards at the company have severely changed. More later on developments hopefully. Sad in Dallas.

Note that most of the complaints are about gas water heaters, but the electric water heaters dont seem to be much better. Mine, barely made 4 yrs old and both elements and thermostat went. Had plumbers in for estimates in to repair - much cheaper to install a new one (No...not a Whirlpool!). Very disappointed in the product.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model WTW6400SW2 Serial CU0272414: I replaced my wo
Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model WTW6400SW2 Serial CU0272414: I replaced my wonderful 25+ year old Kenmore washer with the Cabrio, 4 years ago. Within the first year I had to have a computer board replaced that was covered under the warranty. This last 6 months I replaced the suspension rods, was constantly showing that the load was unbalanced. Also have a LD error, long drain, probably because a sensor is bad. Today, restarted a load several times and could never complete the entire cycle. I resorted to unplugging, and starting a drain spin cycle and the washer just flooded my house. So Im done with this unit. Waiting for a class action suit. Lets get started. What type of unit should I buy now. I guess Im going to subscribe to Consumer Report before I buy another. Laundromat for me in the meantime.

I have Whirlpool 25 in. Side by side. I love the space freezer size is bigger than the old one I had. Makes ice as it should. Overall solid appliance that I trust. I purchased this refrigerator a year ago after research.

The oven works well. My complaint is that the glass door is very difficult to clean. Some kind of liquid got in between the panels and I cannot clean the glass without removing the oven door. Im afraid to remove the door as I may not be able to get it back on the oven. I have dirty glass I cant clean and that makes me unhappy. Otherwise the oven works just fine.

Cabrio Washer - I am so disgusted with this product. After only a few months service came out and the repairman told me it was normal for a load to run for 8+ hours. Second repairman replaced the circuit boards and it has lasted 11 weeks. Now it is not working again. Calling tomorrow. I have a bad feeling about what the end result will be. Expect I will be buying a new washer, will not be a Whirlpool. Just went and tried what another reviewer does to get it to run... Pause/start/pause/start. After 8 tries it is now running. I will not live with this. Not going to spend a dime to fix this piece of garbage. Still have 36 days left on extended warranty.

I purchased a high-end Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT710PAYM) a few months ago thinking I was making a wise upgrade. Poor design and it wont dry dishes or properly wash utensils when theyre placed in the utensil rack on the door panel. The unit heavily condenses after using heat dry mode and large water droplets completely cover the top of the inside cabinet. Eventually, they all fall down into the dishes and you now have wet dishes again. The Whirlpool tech’s response was to scratch the cabinet plastic with a scratchy pad, smear rinse aid over the plastic cabinet and that should stop droplets from forming. Whirlpool’s customer service told me they shouldve never told me that and what I should do is be there during the drying cycle and open the cabinet door to let the steam out. This is completely ludicrous. Dont walk but run away from Whirlpool products.
