Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8500DC0 - 2 months out of warranty, 14 months old. Motherboard fried. $300 if I do it myself. $550 to have it done. The unit was $780 on sale. Brand new piece of junk. Zero stars but thats not an option. Quite honestly, it doesnt clean very well and it doesnt rinse very well so we have to rinse twice to get the smell out if we use bleach. So whats the sense in buying a high efficiency washer? I work outdoors and weve had cheap washers in the past that clean much better and lasted many years.

OMG. We had just purchased a house in Clermont Fl. At Appliance Direct on Citrus Tower, worse experience. Imagine my husband and myself had recently retired. Therefore we wanted to make sure whatever we purchased was to last since its not easy to replace anything on our fixed income. A few mos later the ice maker would make noise in the middle of the night and would not fill up completely. 1 yr it stopped making ice completely. We went to Appliance Direct only to find out that nothing could have been done. We purchased the extra warranty for approx 391 dollars. We then were told by Whirlpool that we would have to wait 60 days. The time came and the customer service now tells us that the breakdown happened the same month we purchased the warranty so we would have to pay ourselves to have it fixed. We went ahead and paid for the repair.A few mos after the ice maker stopped again and the bottom freezer would not freeze anything. Our food spoiled etc. We called Whirlpool now that the warranty was now ok. We had to wait for an appointment with the company of their choice. The repairman came and stated that the part had to be ordered before we can get ice and freezer working. Waited almost 2 weeks for that. Repair done and soon after, like 4 days later we still didnt have ice. Called again, another company was sent... all over again we waited for 2 parts.. He assured us that we should be good. 2 mos now were getting half capacity ice and freezer doesnt freeze everything. Ice cream is a no no.So much money (2500 dollars) paid for that piece of junk. The repairman told us “forget about replacement, the company will send a repairman once a month if they have to“. Its frustrating and some days I wish I could just put it on the sidewalk for the garbage truck. I cant afford to go out and buy a new one (of course it would not be Whirlpool). In the meantime this company Whirlpool is making all this money from selling these junk. I am mad like hell and tell everyone to stay away from Whirlpool. I wish Id purchased a Samsung instead. I could climb the top of a mountain and shout: Dont buy Whirlpool.

I was having trouble with our Whirlpool water heater and thought that wed have to shell out and buy a whole new one. Chris saw my complaint and helped me find the right replacement kit at a minimal cost, as my unit was out of warranty. He even took the extra step and overnighted the parts for us at no extra cost. I was extremely impressed with Chris professionalism and customer support skills.

Purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer (WFW75HEFW0) in September 2017. Have had 4 service calls on washer for not completely washing clothes, leaving excess water after cycles complete, excessive wrinkling of clothes even on non wrinkle clothes, odor on some clothes due to incomplete water fill on some cycles. Factory position since there are no error codes washer is fine. Asked factory to exchange washer and upgrade model which we would pay difference. Denied. Looking for another brand and will seek legal assistance in the matter.

I wrote you about this oven. This morning, they replaced the thermostat and then wanted me to self-clean it again. Now it wont work again, so I called Whirlpool and wanted to replace it and it would cost me $1,070 extra. I told them that was not acceptable. I paid over $3,000 for the one I have. Now, I have to stay home again tomorrow so they can replace the same part again. To keep in warranty, I have to replace the part every ninety days if I want to self-clean my oven.

Just plain terrible. Purchased Whirlpool Gold Seris Dishwasher Model w10698637a in June and now its been 3 attempts so far to fix a brand new dishwasher that does not clean. So far I have been asked... have you been heating the water before you start the cycle?, my favorite... Is this a whirlpool dishwasher. So I find out today that it will take another visit from a company that hasnt been able to fix it, plus a call to the tech line to make sure they havent missed anything. Heres what Ive missed, a dishwasher that cleans.

French Door Model WRF989SDAWOO: Horrible quality, worse support! We have a new French Door (not inexpensive). Within 3 months of owning it, we phoned in because the unit was periodically making a very loud, metallic humming sound. We were politely told that noise was normal, and that if the unit was working when the service man came out, we would be charged. A few months later, the noise was constant, and we noticed that the temperature was not stable. Freezer was set to 0, Fridge to 36, yet the thermometer was reading 20 (freezer) and 38 (fridge). We called in, concerned that it was failing. We were put on a schedule for 9 days later. We were told we would get a call the day before with a 2-hour window when the tech would come. That didnt happen. We got a call that the tech would come between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm (he showed up at 5:35 pm).We phoned in 3 days later to tell them that we were losing food (freezer was now showing 29, fridge 40). We were told (by both Westinghouse and by A&E Factory Service, which is Sears) that we should rent another refrigerator. When the service tech showed up, the first point of contention was that we had Whirlpools warranty (and had paid for the extended warranty) rather than Sears Master Protection agreement. Nevertheless, the tech finds that there is a problem with the evaporator coil, which had to be ordered from the factory. The tech was nice, and told us not to wait to be rescheduled, but to call him directly, and he would come the business workday after we notified him that the part arrived. Another week without a refrigerator / freezer, and now we have to worry about what the tech told us; these units are NOT of good quality, and have had repeated failures in the cooling systems.

I bought a Whirlpool water heater not even 3 years ago, and I am already replacing parts; thermostat,thermocouple, and as of yet, no fix. We contacted Whirlpool, and they said that everything has been tried, and if the thermocouple doesnt fix it, well have to hire a plumber at our expense. Its kinda ridiculous. The water heater that we replaced, had been in the home for almost 17 years.This one didnt even make it to 4.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold top freezer refrigerator (G2IXEFMWQ03) in May 2011. Six months later, the freezer began to collect frost and eventually clogged the refrigerator port from freezer. Since cold air from the freezer was not going to fridge, I had to turn down the refrigerator temp to lowest setting. I had a service person come out and replace Adaptive Defrost Control under warranty - it would have cost me around $250. Now roughly 12 months after repair, the defrost issue is back. The part cost me $175, and that is if I install it myself. I called and mailed Whirlpool which was a waste of time. This is the last Whirlpool I plan to purchase. For the same issue to occur in this short time span, it has engineering flaw written all over it.

There are plenty of reviews on this board already about how the so called AquaLift technology for oven cleaning is completely worthless so I wont repeat what they have already so eloquently described. AquaLift has managed to take us back in time to around 1947 or whenever it was before the old easy off oven cleaner was invented. I purchased the cleaning kit (affinity) as well but it doesnt do much of anything. The only people who might consider purchasing a stove with AquaLift are those who do no roasting or broiling of meat. The oven looks beautiful, so maybe it could be for those who enjoy a show kitchen and prefer takeout.

I purchased a range and refrigerator from Whirlpool and have had nothing but problems with them ever since. Ive only had the range for years and (2) of the top burners are no longer working. Again, the refrigerator is only 5 years old and its handle has broken 5 times. I have needed to replace the handle every year that Ive owned the refrigerator. Whirlpool only offered a (1) years warranty for these faulty appliances and then immediately started to bug me about purchasing an extended warranty. I guess they knew that their junk would hold up, so they started pushing a warranty. Finally, their customer service while apologetic, are very robotic and appeared to have heard my complaint before. So, SAVE YOURSELF SOME AGGRAVATION AND PURCHASE ANOTHER BRAND. For if you dont heed my warning just know that youve been warned.

Another person with problems called this a giant Whirlpool paperweight and he is so right! I received delivery of a Cabrio WTW7800XW3 washer on December 17, 2011. I had an issue (stopped in the middle of the cycle and flashed the letter “F” on the control panel) with it on January 2nd. I called and scheduled service. I had unplugged the machine and a few days later I replugged it and it started to work, so I cancelled the service call. In March, the problem started again. It just adds a little bit of water and then stops. Since then I have had repairmen out 6 times with 8 new parts installed and the washer still doesnt work. Now, the control panel won’t work. Whirlpool refuses to replace the machine. The repairman says these are the worst machines (any of the ones that are top load and have a clear top) he has ever seen and that I should buy an extended warranty. He says the bearings in the tub wear out among other things. On one of the repair visits, the serviceman found a chewed up pair of baby pajama pants. The machine makes a really loud noise like a jet engine taking off whenever it spins and the clothes are not clean. Whirlpool says that the warranty does not cover replacement of a defective machine. I have since researched the machine and have discovered that there have been problems with this line of machine for years. So, why are they still selling them? I am hoping for a class action suit. The company should stand by their products. I will never purchase a Whirlpool (or any other brand manufactured by Whirlpool) product again. I have had the machine for 4 months and it has been usable for about 2 of them.

This is a freezer on top unit. Purchased in 2015, unit quit cooling, started making a roaring noise. Called local technician, he added 2 oz of Freon, said he has seen many of these same unit losing Freon. Technician said line that goes to compressor is copper and hooks up to aluminum line before attaching to compressor. This is leak point for freon; no way to know when the leak started, but freon almost gone and cost to pressure check for source of leak is costly and probably would not repair problem. Got 6 yrs out of it and I am replacing with another brand. Will never buy Whirlpool again. Should have got 10-12 yrs of use. Do not buy this unit. Wrote Whirlpool first, but no help. Indicated this could be a problem with these units but no recall so I am on my own. Out $900 for a new refrigerator. Big hassle. Unit no good.

The space could be laid out a little better. The flimsy shelf is not real stable for foods or ice tray. Where the shelf locks into the side wall is not deep enough to stabilize the shelf itself. The flat indentations in the bottom, where they meet the front, have an edge that makes properly cleaning the freezer a bit difficult.

Size was greatest consideration, then cost. Next was power consumption. Quality claims were of no value, since ALL are made in China/Korea. Korean made would be a better choice than China. Am satisfied, but not greatly, as refrig. bottom freezer died a few days out of warranty. YouTube video had my exact refrig. so fixed it myself. Bottom freezer drawer keeps coming off its slides, but I live with it. Top refrig. section freezes things on top shelf, but 2 and 3 shelves down, temp is 39 to 42 = cannot get even temp. As a former inspector, I know about air circulation, crowding.

The agitation is too loud. I called Whirlpool customer service and said I wanted to return the washing machine because it was so noisy. Whirlpool customer service agreed that it was noisy and said they would send a technician out. Whirlpool customer service never told me the technician they were sending would cost me 25% of the washing machine cost. The technician said this is normal all machines are this loud. Now I am out the cost of the washing machine plus the cost of the technician and all I have is a very noisy washing machine. Im a real satisfied customer. The machine was bought 12 days ago.

My refrigerator & dishwasher were purchased less than a year ago. Ive already had all the doors replaced on the fridge and the new ones are rusting. Discovered same issue with the dishwasher. The company doesnt seem to be overly concerned with remedying the issue. No sense of urgency or concern for the customer.

Im on Whirlpool Cabrio washer top number 4. Well over $300.00 each, and washer doesnt work with a broken top. I sent a letter to Whirlpool telling them, NEVER again Whirlpool and my reason is the 4th top in 6 years. I received a form letter back... apologizing for a delay in response and, we hope you enjoy the rest of your day, lol. They dont get my level of dissatisfaction or better just dont care. Really is your engineering that bad? A high school kid could figure out that the spring is to strong for the plastic housing and over time the plastic cracks. Really Whirlpool? Whirlpool wrf560seyw00 refrigerator plastic tasting water - Purchased 22 months ago. Did not think a warranty was necessary. Even if I had a warranty, they say they wouldnt have paid on the claim. I called Whirlpool asking for a one time goodwill policy adjustment considering Ive outfitted my home in all new Maytag/Whirlpool appliances over the past 3 years. In a nutshell, their plastic water lines to the dispenser in my fridge are deteriorating. There are plastic floaters and a horrible plastic smell and taste. You cannot drink it. First, they blame the filter mixing with the chlorine from my city water (go ahead and laugh... because thats just nuts) and when I told them I removed the filter two weeks ago and there are floaters in the water, they said my water still was to blame. Heres a thought... Dont use cheap plastic lines when you sell someone an expensive appliance! Is it really that difficult to offer a quality product? This is a smaller three-door unit (French on top w/ bottom freezer). There is no water holding tank because its small and we have a copper supply line. My neighbors dont have trouble with theirs either. I may be female but Im not an idiot. Maytag/Whirlpool corporation has lost a loyal 20 plus year customer.

My dishwasher was only 18 months old when the rack adjuster broke causing the top rack to collapse. I researched and was able to order the replacement part which now comes only in metal. (The original Whirlpool piece was cheap plastic.) I spent $40 for the new part and spent several hours installing it without any help from Whirlpool. Then when I tried to use my dishwasher it wouldn’t run. Repair person came out and diagnosed it with a pump assembly failure. Part alone was $222 and it was on back order. Extremely disappointed. I have tried to contact Whirlpool to see if they would at least offer me a discount on the part. Their customer service number is never available. On hold for so long I finally gave up. Maybe I just got a lemon but I will not go with any Whirlpool product again.

Whirlpool Upright Freezer Model EV205NXTN01 – The freezer door interior plastic panel bows away from freezer cabinet causing door gasket not to seal. The new gasket doesnt help since the groove of the gasket mounts in bows outward with the interior plastic panel in the door. The freezer is 20 months old now and had the door replaced for the same reason at 10 months old. Now, Whirlpool says sorry it’s out of warranty. Guess they want me to buy a new door every year. I wont be buying Whirlpool products anymore as I dont need another boat anchor.

We purchased a new bottom freezer Whirlpool refrigerator 4 years ago. For the past year we have had problems with the freezer frosting up. An appliance repairman told us the seal needed replacing. This was done with no success. He states there is nothing he can do for it. The refrigerator runs all the time and the freezer is unusable.

Our double oven was part of our new home purchase so we really didnt have a choice in product. Brand new. Hardly used. The control board replaced because it went bad 2 weeks after install. After one use it had it replaced and it went bad again. Used it once and again same thing. My mom unaware of the issue used the self cleaner as a favor. Well things went really bad. Because the temperature of the self cleaner was too much for the oven and explode and the inside glass shattered. This is not a product that you would want in your home or would recommend for anyone to buy. They do not stand by their product either. Please do not risk your familys life.

Purchased a Maytag refrigerator in 2009. Was told Whirlpool bought out Maytag, never had a problem with it ever! Speed up to 2012. Purchased another refrigerator this time a whirlpool. HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT! This is the 3rd or 4th time the veggie/fruit drawer POS plastic track has broken. I purchased the extended warranty after a year and in addition to the above, had a new ice maker replaced, and a part in the freezer as the freezer wasnt freezing. So I called them to replace the drawer plastic track again and they say that its a cosmetic problem and they wont cover it. Are you kidding me??? It holds the drawers in for crying out loud! Also told the repairman that the ice gets clogged in the dispenser and either 1) melts all over the place or 2) comes pouring out when you open the doors. He tells me that its best to just use the ice cubes and not the crushed. Again... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Thats why I paid so damn much money for this one as I wanted crushed ice! There should be a recall on this appliance. Repairman says all the models with the icemaker on the left side have problems with freezing and when inquired about my lettuce freezing and getting wilted or brown, he says that the humidity buttons are really only for looks and dont have a purpose!!! Believe you me... I will be sharing this on social media of all types to get this resolved. WHIRLPOOL BIGWIGS LISTEN UP! YOUR PRODUCT STINKS!!! Since we were gone on Friday when the call came in that they called it cosmetic on the drawers you bet Ill be giving these extended warranty people a call too tomorrow! Also dont say we have too much in our drawers because theres barely anything in them at all times. Its just used by 2 retirees!

Whirlpool Cabrio, H2 washer system type 588 01, serial # c0303 10 - We have been in our condo 5 years. The washer & dryer was here and new when we moved in. I have been displeased with it from the start. It takes forever to wash through a load, and the clothes are just as dirty after being washed as before. I soaked some whites in Clorox overnight and ran through using Tide and Downy. Then the stains and dirt were still there. I ran them again it was not any better. I had a professional from Hagadorn come. They could not find anything wrong. It cost us about $100.00. Others in our area have the same complaint. I have never been satisfied with this wash. It just does not get the clothes clean. Please help!!!

Bought this refrigerator in June 2018. Had issues with freezer section and service technician came July 19. Issue was resolved but only temporarily. Had another technician come in Oct 3 and was told he had to order a new freezer drawer which should take 3 days. Now being told the drawer won’t arrive until Nov 15. You call that service? It would have taken less time to get a new refrigerator. I would never recommend buying Whirlpool products to anyone. What’s the point in buying a product that you can’t get proper service on.

We bought a Whirlpool freezer-bottom 18.5 cu ft. fridge from Lowes. The compressor broke in less than three months of regular use. I called Whirlpool who sent A&E to check it out. The technician didnt even file a report and lied to me about what was wrong with the fridge. They sent a different company to come look at it and they confirmed that the compressor is broken. I called Whirlpool customer service and was told that the warranty only covers repairs not replacement even though I paid over $1,000 for a defective product. The excuse: Its a man-made product so we cant guarantee it! So what used to be a 3-5 year warranty not too long ago is now what? A one-year warranty is virtually useless. I can see a future not too far off where there is no warranty at all. Where is the protection for the buyer? If I wanted to purchase a second-hand fridge, I would have. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

When I first got my energy eff washer it would not fill up with water. Only about 7 inches or so. Then I read that is you wet some clothes first it goes on wait before it starts. Works excellent with the agitator. Have done clothes without detergent and everything comes out clean. My beef is there is no lint trap so rely on the dryer to get rid of it.

My Whirlpool Gold Star aqualift oven stopped working right at three years, when the warranty ended. I paid the $650 for repairs to the stovetop, hoping this was a one-time situation. Six months later, my oven has quit. This product is not a good investment. Im very disappointed.

I bought my new Whirlpool Duet washer in April 2011 and the gas steam dryer in May 2011. In October 2011, the washer started to make a loud banging noise when starting the spin cycle. I contacted Whirlpool, and they scheduled a service call and stated that the washer was out of service. I told them it was and that I just bought it in April 2011. They said that the repair guy would need to see the receipt. Well, the A&E Factory service guy came out and said it was the bearings. Whirlpool only replaced the bearings with the whole tube unit and a few other parts. I was never told that all these parts would be mailed to my home, until I got a call from A&E about the tube being on back order. I was told that the part wouldnt be in until November 21, 2011, and it would take another week or more to schedule for a repair guy to come out. I called Whirlpool Executive Office (269-923-5000) and complained about all this. They said thats how it works--they ship everything to the customer and that there was nothing she could do about the back-ordered part. So I called Lowes corporate office and told them what was going on and asked if they could push Whirlpool into fixing my washer faster. About 4 1/2 hours later, I got a call from the assistant store manager; and they said that they would replace my washer with a brand-new one and would have it delivered in 2 days. Now, that was going above and beyond what I thought they would do. Just another reason why Ill continue to be a Lowes customer.Now, here it is, April 2012; and my dryer is leaking water into the drum. On Saturday, I went online and scheduled a service repair for Wednesday, April 25. Today, the 24th, I got a call from VIA that they would be out tomorrow and that I would owe them $120.00 for the service call as my dryer was out of warranty. Here we go once again, having to battle Whirlpool! I really dont give a dang what their dang system tells them about when I bought their product! I know when I bought it. And why did they keep telling me that Im wrong? They did almost to the point of calling me a liar!I called the Executive Office again and had to leave a message. Mark my words, I will never ever buy another Whirlpool product again! I will make sure that I tell everyone who I know at work and at home about the way Whirlpool handles their good customers!

In August of 2013 the lid on my Whirlpool Cabrio, model #WTW7800XW0 simply fell apart. This washer was purchased from Lowe’s in Live Oak, Florida on August 23, 2010. Lowe’s put me in contact with the authorized repair service, A&E Factory Service. The A&E technician arrived and told me the hinges were the cause of the lid breaking apart. He ordered a new lid and new hinges. When the lid and hinges were delivered the technician came back to my home and looked at the hinges again and said they didnt look that bad so he didnt bother even opening the box with the new hinges. He just put the new lid on and said I shouldnt have any further problem. The total cost of the new lid, hinges and service call amounted to $385.50. Well, here it is - not even a year later and the same problem is back with me. Yesterday (July 23, 2014) I was doing a load of laundry. When the load was complete and the lid lock turned off - the lid actually sprung upward and now the lid wont close. It seems that Whirlpool is fully aware they either have a design flaw of defective lids and they are gouging the customers for their errors. The Cabrio model is supposed to be top of the line - certainly not a cheap machine. I was, at least, happy with the performance of this machine cleaning my clothes properly but this lid problem is ridiculous. I do not plan to purchase any Whirlpool products in the future if they do not make things right by myself and hundreds of others with this same problem.

Stove was purchased in June, 2021. Two months later, oven will not heat up!!! Contacts Whirlpool, and TEN days later, a service person finally shows up. Problem appears to be a circuit board that they dont have, and has to be ordered! When will it arrive? He has no idea!!! I called Whirlpool, but its frustrating and a waste of time. You only get to talk to someone that appears to be reading from a script! If were lucky, well be without an oven for one month; however, it could be two...or three...or four!!! My advice: Dont buy this stove/range!!! Not only is the oven an issue, but it just seems flimsy and subpar quality, especially the oven door. Added to that, the glass top is very difficult to keep clean... Worse than any glass top stove weve had in the past.

It seems the quality issue of the LED of the washer Whirlpool Cabrio. It was broken from the screw part of the glass and the plastic/alloy and the glass. They would charge me $416 to replace the LED but I rejected and was still required to pay $85 for labor fee. I called the company and they didnt admit that was a quality issue but I just found many consumers had the same problem. If someone would like to have a lawsuit, please contact me and I will join.

I bought my Whirlpool water heater from Lowe’s in 2010 and now 2 years later, the pilot light keeps going out. When I tried to buy replacement parts from Lowe’s, they stock parts for other brands but no parts for the brand they sell. The water heater is junk and Lowe’s is no help. I will not buy from Lowe’s again.

Whirlpool Calibri washing machine - I have the washer for 4 years and have replaced four computer boards to the tune of nearly $300 each. When Whirlpool was told of my experience, they said they were sorry. Obviously, I am too and will not buy again. You would think they would give me one board at no cost, but I guess words are cheap.

ET8AHKXRQ00 - Contacted store where purchased brand new in box, also contacted Whirlpool Corp., was told no repair nor replacement could be offered. Paid $1,500.00, freezer still works but lower box stopped exactly 7yrs after manufacturing date and purchase. A lot of $ to pay for a refrigerator that costs more to repair than large purchase price. I am extremely upset with this situation and brand.

The Whirlpool microwave stopped working 14 months after purchase. The technician, who was a complete moron, said that he couldn’t find the problem, but took 129 dollars in service fee, which was extortion. Their appliances are ** and so are the ramrods that they hire to service them.

You have to take into account that this microwave doesn’t heat up as others I’ve had so even if the instructions call for something to be cooked for 5 minutes, you have to add at least 2 minutes more. If not it would be undercooked.

We have owned Whirlpool Oven/Range for 3 years, and about 4 times a year, on oven setting over 400 degrees, we get an error message, beeping, and the oven needs to be reset. We also own other Whirpool appliances, and caveat emptor. Buy another brand, please.

Whirlpool gas range Model#wfg10h0ah1 with aqua lift technology. This is the biggest ripoff that was ever done to me. It say self clean, not it cleans and then you clean. This is fraud plain and simple. I am handicapped and made it very clear to the salesperson that it had to be self cleaning. 4 times I did the clean cycle and I was in shock, I called repair, I thought the self clean was broken. However this is the line they give you over and over, that its not broken. This is working the way it was designed to work. So they made a range that is self cleaning, but no it doesnt do that. For 899.99, I did not deserve to get duped like this.

I have a front load washer by Whirlpool and a motor stopped working on the drain. When I called them, they told me it would be $200.00 for the part. I dont understand why they dont stand behind there product. What can be done to make these people fix there stuff? This is there product, if they cant do it right, then find a new job!

I am so thankful that there are others who are having the same problems with their washers. Since 2006, my husband and I have had words regarding who is not loading the washer right, why are the clothes still dirty, and why does the dryer have so much lint. The excessive amount of lint ruined my dryer. I get UL codes all the time! Before the UL flashes, it sounds like someones trying to break in. It is 2011. Despite the problems, it has not died yet. I am selling it and will never purchase another from them again. I have the dryer and it went out 2 years ago. It has problems with the motor. You can guess I did not buy a Whirlpool.

I purchased a gas range with JDR8895 last 09/06/2007 at Home Depot in Metro Denver for approximately $1700.00. I will make my final payment on my Home Depot account next month. I was preparing dinner last September 10, 2011. I had the pans on the cooktop, one on the right rear and one on the left front burners. This was the set up because the right front burner has stopped working some time ago. Both burners were on a low setting as I was simmering pasta sauce and just warming water as I was later going to boil it for the noodles. I was in my living room when I started to smell something odd. When I approached my kitchen, there was a fire coming from the rear of the cooktop and beneath the three burner knobs. It smelled like an electrical fire. I immediately turned off the burners with my hand wrapped in a towel and started putting out the fire by hitting it with the towel and blowing. The towel caught on fire. I grabbed my fire extinguisher and was ready to spray when finally, it looked like it burned out. The smell in my home is terrible, when I tried to test the lower burner it looked like it was catching on fire underneath the knob as well, so i immediately turned it off and batted it with a towel. Im not sure what happened here. I will make my final payment on this range next month and had the previous range in here since 1977 and that still worked fine. I spent a small fortune on this Jenn-Air, only to have it catch on fire that could have potentially burned my house down.On various web sites including consumer affairs, JDR8895 has many reports of fires. If this is a known problem, why has it not been addressed as a recall? My 9-year old was making soup the day before while I was in the living room. This could of easily happened to her! It is a very dangerous situation to put your consumers in!Whirlpool Corporation contacted the appliance repair company, Columbine Appliances, to inform them that they would only be covering the cost of their visit and not the cost of the parts to be replaced in the range (the ones that caught on fire). Through Columbine Appliance, Whirlpool wanted to inform me that this is not a safety hazard and that it was my fault as I got water in the control knobs. This is not true. If I did, I was not aware and was unable to find any literature about that being a safety hazard or that it could cause a fire. I have found and have forwarded to the CPSC many instances of this exact problem, often when the range was not even in use and are happening to other consumers. I am working on combining the data, contacting the other consumers and have since refused service on the range by Columbine Appliances. Whirlpool only tried to contact me after I left them a message regarding the status of the range and that I had no interest in paying for what I viewed as a defect in their range and a safety hazard. I found a news story of this range going up in flames. Its unbelievable that this company continues to stand behind this product and blame these fires on the consumers actions. I am disabled and have an oxygen machine in my home. I have no desire to have this unit catch on fire again and potentially die, especially since water does, on occasion, end up on cooktops. I have Whirlpool fridge for a very long time since I own my house and for me is one of the best, is a great company and occasionally have to fix in a couple of times and afraid to buy another more modern and not last like this old fridge.

I have had my Whirlpool Gold for 8 years now and it has met my expectations. The glass shelves are easy to keep clean and it lets the lights give an open feeling to see everything in it. The ice and water dispensers are used many times every day and work just fine. Great appliance.

I have the 4.3 cu. ft. washer. This washer worked OK, but the lid lock does fail after about one year if the washer is in an environment where moisture may be present.I noticed the lid lock not working all the time about two months before the warranty expired. If this happens, call the warranty department immediately. After checking the ground wire and resetting the washer power over and over again, the lid lock finally stopped working completely. Here is how to fix it:There are two screws on the back of the top portion of the washer. Unscrew them from the silver straps. The washer lid will now push forward and up and off. Prop it up with a stick.Unscrew the two screws on the lid lock and start taking it apart (after reading this entire review). Be careful not to lose any parts and be sure to know where everything goes for re-assembly. Take pictures if necessary. Take the lid lock completely apart including any small pieces.The plastic slide needs to be cleaned. It has a spring that may fall when you pull it apart.The metal contact points inside the lid lock mechanism need to be cleaned. Be extremely careful when pulling the red cover off of the housing assembly. Pull the four metal contact points completely out of the plastic assembly. Be real careful with the black plastic slide piece, the metal rocker switch and the switch actuating motor. Use a small file and rubbing alcohol to clean off any green or white corrosion. Make sure to check all contact points.Re-assemble and you will immediately notice the lock switch working better. Re-install onto the machine. Re-install the upper portion of the washer. Start your laundry. Repeat after one year or when the lid lock becomes faulty again. These points should have been made out of a less corrosive material. Poor craftsmanship. Would not recommend.

Top loading Washing Machine Model #WTW4950XW2 - You would think that a big company like Whirlpool would make quality washers. NOT! Our top loading washer bought in late 2011 has been making loud noise during the washing cycle for the last 6 months, and last night was struggling to spin. Seriously, with just my wife and myself using the washer once a week, this washer should last over a decade! So I called Whirlpool and explained the problem... and, as expected, they cannot help me as it is over the one year warranty. NO MORE WHIRLPOOL BRANDS FOR US!

I’ve had my Whirlpool Duet for 12 years and it has been a great one. I’m a mom of three sons, all of them wash their own laundry!! Lots of loads are done weekly and it cleans well! We leave the door opened after it’s unloaded so the tub will dry. Every few months, I put a tab in it so it will clean out all of the buildup. I don’t get the “front loader smell” that way.

Whirlpool cabrio top loader is junk from the first month. My washer has had way too many repairs. A&E repair has been a frequent at my home. Now Im getting ready to repair it again! Hub gasket or pump not sure this time. All has been replaced previously. Never ending - always something wrong with it!!!

I had a 14-year-old 40-gallon tank that was working great but I decided it was time to get it replaced. I picked out a Whirlpool 400-gallon tank stated to be good for a family of 3 to 4 people. Immediately after installation, I got complaints from family members that there was no enough hot water for morning showers. I turned up the thermostat to the maximum 140 degrees, but there was still wasnt enough hot water. The Whirlpool rep on the phone stated that 3 people cant take back-to-back showers. The unit wasnt designed for this. I told him the unit is advertised for a family of 3 to 4 and I have only 3. I asked where on the advertisement does it state 3 people cant take back-to-back showers? His response was, Where does it state you can? I asked his name and he would not give it to me. If 3 people cant take showers on a unit stated to be for a family of 3 to 4, something is wrong. Maybe it should be advertised as suitable for a family of 1. I will not buy a Whirlpool product again and I advise others to take my advice, go elsewhere.

I dont know the model you have but this exactly what I just had happen in May. Its what they call the jazz board that is behind the light area inside the front of the refrigerator, where the light bulb goes. This is a circuit board and it seems when connection arent happening properly the fridge wont go into defrost mode and the water freezes over the evaporator not allowing any cold air to the top but working cooling freezer and making lots of frost too. I paid $400 to Sears service repair. The jazz board itself, I kept the old one and you can buy it online for about $100 and a child can do the labor that I paid hundreds for because, like you, I didnt know what the problem was. It takes less than 1 min to do this. I was furious! I hope this helps you and I too will never buy a Whirlpool. I found this site looking for why the refrigerator is making very loud noises, very loud banging, clicking, humming. Its ridiculous!

We bought our Whirlpool refrigerator model # WRT318FZDB02 July of 2019. We liked it very much. The beginning of January 2022 we started having issues with things freezing. A few days later nothing got cold. The appliance technician that checked it out said our seals on the compressor were bad and needed a new one. He told us we were better off buying a new refrigerator. I contacted Whirlpool support and they told me the same thing. Our previous refrigerator lasted over 30 years!! I would think Whirlpool would make their refrigerators last longer than 2 1/2 years!!

2007 we purchase a Whirlpool Casio washing machine. Rusted out in three years. 2008 we purchase Whirlpool gold dishwasher. In two years the front panel rusted out. We replaced this panel and now the second one has rusted out. According to Whirlpool they do not cover rust. When we replace the washer it was with a Samsung. NO SIGNS OR RUST IN THE LAST THREE YEARS. When we replace the dishwasher it will not be a Whirlpool. As far as I am concerned, Whirlpool products are junk.

I purchased a rental home with a Whirlpool hot water heater. In the home inspection, it was deemed to be in good working order. The first day the tenant moved in, I received 3 service calls for no hot water. My contractor told me I needed to replace the start up assembly and it needed to be ordered from Whirlpool directly, as it is not available in stores. When I contacted Whirlpool Customer Service, the operator, Stacey, was rude and unhelpful. She told me that the warranty was void because I was not the original owner, even though it does not state that the warranty is not transferable. She also told me she could not help me order a replacement part without the item number.

My washing machine is just over a year old and it has ruined so many clothes... They come out with brown stains on them... Almost like a oily stain. Not sure where its coming from but its either Im gonna have to buy a different machine or keep buying clothes. My husbands t-shirts look terrible... I really like my new 5 burner gas double oven gas range made by Whirlpool. Except for 1 minor flaw where the backsplash panel warped at the beginning and was promptly replaced by whirlpool I have had no problems with my range, love having 5 burners and a double oven. Plus the left front burner has a much bigger burner with higher btu which helps water come to a boil way faster than any other ranger I have ever had. That is a real nice feature and I really like having 2 ovens, When cooking on an average day for my small family there is no need to heat up the big oven and the little oven is just the perfect size to bake 1 or 2 dishes. And on holidays when I am cooking for more people or many more dishes I have the capacity to cook more items.

My Whirlpool washing machine is really easy to use. It is a mid-range machine but it has all the bells and whistles. Its a joy to use. It gets my clothes nice and clean. It does a great job. I would definitely buy another Whirlpool washing machine.

My washing machine ruined clothes with tiny rips. Small rubber pieces appeared in clothes. This happened during warranty but Whirlpool would do nothing. Finally, the bellow completely broke apart after 13 months. Repairman could not determine problem until this time. Whirlpool would do nothing.

Whirlpool 29 cu ft French Door Refrigerator WRF989SDAM - We purchased this refrigerator September 2013 for our new home. We moved in November 18, 2013. The refrigerator made a very loud buzzing/humming noise from the beginning and did not make enough ice. The shop we bought it from came on 2 occasions to work on the ice maker and finally totally replaced it. Then the rack on the bottom of the left door fell out and contained glass jars of pickled vegetables. They broke and made a big mess and etched our travertine tile floor. We called the shop and they sent their son out who put the rack in with duct tape which of course did not work so we took it out and put it in the cabinet. We had to pay to have the tile polished to remove the etching. On the weekend of November 15, 2014 the humming noise was so loud that we called the repair person again and they came out on November 17, 2014. At first they thought it was a fan motor but the freezer started making a loud noise and the owner came and said the compressor was going out. Our food was beginning to thaw and we asked if they could at least loan us a refrigerator to use. They brought us an old small fridge which was put in the garage. We took all our food out there. They came November 25 and picked up the fridge to be repaired. We had been told the warranty was out but after calling your company they were told Whirlpool would cover parts and labor. Today is Thanksgiving Day and we can not cook a big meal due to the small fridge and freezer and we are buying bags of ice every day. We have family visiting and must go out for dinner. We have no idea of when our refrigerator will be returned to us. This has been an expensive and disappointing experience. I would never recommend your refrigerator to anyone due to this experience. I really feel we should have been offered a new refrigerator at a discount. We bought all our appliances from Dons Appliances in Okeechobee, FL 34974 and they are all Whirlpool. This refrigerator cost $2299 and our total order was $9,642.84. We would appreciate a response from your company.

NOT Even a 1 STAR!!! We spent A LOT of money on a Whirlpool Smart wall oven combo. It has only been installed for about 2 hrs. My husband and I have been trying to figure out why all the features on the Whirlpool app aren’t working. Most of our home has smart features and is connected to our phones so it’s not the fact that we aren’t tech savvy. I finally gave up and decided I’ll call customer service line about it tomorrow when they open. It’s Sunday night so every number we call says it’s outside of business hrs. Then excited to turn on the oven for the first time I turn the oven on and the noise that the fan is making is so loud you can’t even talk over it. The oven has been off for 15 min now but the noise continues. 3000.00 for a huge disappointment. Not to mention the thing is HEAVY. So the thought of us having to remove it and replace it with another does NOT make us happy at all. Best Buy or Whirlpool WILL be the ones doing that. For the trouble and money spent that’s the least they can do. Also family is coming into town for the holiday. We made sure to purchase way ahead of time to be sure we had it, installed it and can use it a few times to get the new smell out of it. Very very upset, angry and disappointed. Now it’s been 10 more minutes and the loud broken fan still won’t even turn off. Now we have to shut it off at the breaker. At this point I don’t think we will be even exchanging it for the same product. I knew we should have bought a Samsung!

All JUNK!! Replaced all new within the last two years. The washer I replaced was twenty + years and was still working fine was just upgrading, big mistake! Washer is sounding like it is going to walk out the door. Replaced dishwasher after twenty years and the new one was leaking within one year and recently got replaced. The new one did not last one year and also is leaking. Now washing dishes by hand. Lastly replaced hot water heater and that is junk too. Has six year warranty after one year pilot light wont stay lit, Whirlpool said would replace the gas control valve for free but I need to pay to install. I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANYMORE PRODUCTS FROM LOWES OR WHIRLPOOL AGAIN!!! HOW CAN A RETAIL COMPANY REPRESENT SO MUCH JUNK?

First, the storage drawer doesnt close properly aligned. When viewed from the side it looks off kilter. This is because the foot of the range interferes with it closing. Second, what is with the bright blue color of the time/temp on the computer screen? Everything else in the kitchen is green, but now I have bright blue(?).

First twice the frame that holds the crisper drawers broken. We bought parts and fixed worked for only short time. Second we bought extended warranty from Home Depot for 5 years. At about 4.5 years ice maker started freezing up. The valve that controls the amt of water that goes in was broken. Had it fixed under warranty. Started having a little problem with it in a couple months. Lasted 8 months. Broke again. Froze up. Had to pound on ice maker compartment door to get open. Once again water overflowed. Froze everything up. Called. Of course our of warranty now expired. Called the guy that put the ice maker repair parts in. The part under warranty but now I have to pay for labor and them coming out to look at it. Now why would I want to put another defective ice maker in. I called Whirlpool. They didn’t care. We have many Maytag appliances in our home but they will be the last. The appliances they make now are cheaply made.

We purchased the Induction Range Whirlpool Model WF1910H0AS0 almost 2 years ago and bought the extended warranty that was offered by A.J. Madison. We started having problems about 8 months after the purchase. We have had technicians out numerous times and they couldnt solve the problem of the cooktop part of the range locking and beeping when we use the oven. I have made several calls to Whirlpool and basically was told too bad. I see that there have been several complaints with the product and they have stopped making it. On one repair visit we were told that they were replacing a particular part because they were having so many problems with the heat blocker that goes under the glass top that they made it thicker and were hoping that this would solve the problem. It did not.The thing that really has sent me over the edge is that last night I was just boiling water and I heard a pop that came along with a smell (electrical burning smell) and the range blew a fuse and now the cooktop part just shows the deadly error F47. I am so disappointed in Whirlpool and their customer service and too bad attitude. You would think when you are spend almost $1800 for a range that it would not have problems so quickly and pretty much render useless in less than 2 years. Also shame on A.J. Madison for selling extended warranties through a company that has such a bad ratings with the Better Business Bureau. The only reason I gave 1 star is because you cant have no star.

Our refrigerator had ice maker problems from the beginning. After 6-7 trips (with a warranty extension) they got it fixed. Then randomly the ice melted, made a puddle in fridge and on the floor, the freezer thawed. Then it would begin running after several days. Finally Whirlpool recommended we replace the computer brain for $1000 PLUS. The refrigerator is 4 years old. We are having a Bosch delivered today, even though the ice and freezer turned back on after being off for 3 days. Customer satisfaction stinks.

I bought a new Whirlpool fridge that has been a piece of junk since the day I bought it. The minute the warranty expired. The thing broke down. The corporate service center was a joke. 15 min wait time just to get through. Then a runaround of misinformed referral numbers. Minimum charge $200/30 min just to have a service rep even look at it. And then $100/hour + parts after that. Highway robbery. My doctor doesn’t even charge me that much. I will never buy a piece of junk WP product ever again. My wife and I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer / Dryer set approximately three years ago and have had nothing but problem after problem with these units. Weve had multiple service calls, multiple parts replaced, and after dumping hundreds of dollars into repairs and service calls (even called Whirlpool and asked for some help with parts cost but was given the cold shoulder and was told, We cant help you), we are dumping these machines where they belong - scrap heap. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and will tell anyone who will listen what garbage Whirlpool manufacturers are and absolutely pathetic excuse for customer service and the poorest of quality product. Whirlpool will never be in my familys home again and will never see another cent of my monies.

Hot water heater model #0833T402747 purchased late 2008 - Several service calls had to be made to a plumber, due to this unit not working. The door assembly was shipped to me by Whirlpool. I had to pay again for the plumber to install this part. Hes been here 3-4 times since I bought the unit. Last Wednesday, May 2, 2012, no hot water again. The same plumber came out and said the door assembly had again gone bad. Whirlpool was contacted on Thursday morning and would not agree to do anything. They were given my plumbers name and number and I never heard back from them. I contacted Lowes in Acworth, GA and they agreed to replace the hot water heater. So now Im forced to pay for another install. I requested that Whirlpool pay this expense, and their representative, **, said no. I intend to sue them for all monies spent on this lemon and due to this lemon, I will never buy another Whirlpool product of any kind. I have told family and friends and theyve agreed that due to the bad product and worse customer service, they will also stay away from purchasing anything made by this company. Whirlpool certainly wont be hurt by me and me alone. But Ill make sure that anyone I run into at Lowes or anywhere else is even looking at a Whirlpool product will get an earful from me. This is the type of customer service that consumers dont have to put up with anymore. There are many resources on the internet to get the word out and I intend to spend a great deal of my time doing just that.

My electric stove is only four years old. In December, 2021, the control panel broke. Digital read out - numbers can’t be read. Service said it is control panel - can’t be found anywhere. Oven has caught on fire twice. House full of smoke. Whirlpool stated my first mistake was not calling them first. I dont have warranty and couldn’t afford a service call so I have DTE protection plan. They sent about appliance repair at their cost. Man said it is control panel and NONE can be found. Whirlpool can’t send THEIR serviceman for another two weeks. I was told to keep circuit breaker on stove pulled. I am 76 and my husband is 84. We can’t go out to eat every night for two reasons: we are on a fixed income - finances will not allow. Plus we both have health issue so I have to cook/bake a certain way. It is going on three months. We can’t afford a new stove every four years. I want Whirlpool to work out some compensation for my stress, aggravation, loss of bakeware that burned in the oven. Took us two days to clean the oven mess, including the glass door - don’t know how it didn’t explode. We had to run downstairs- at 84, moving fast is not that easy, to pull circuit breaker. I could not make two birthday cakes that I had committed to. Can’t bake or make casseroles. We need help of some kind.

I just bought a Whirlpool Duet Front Loader, and it vibrates excessively and wont fully rinse out all of the detergent. I have to take the tray out each time and rinse. Also, it has a musty smell.Whirlpool sent a repairman out to replace the shocks on a washer that is less than 2 months old. The repairman told me to use less detergent, but I am only using a teaspoon of powder detergent which is recommended and using Affresh once a month. There is nothing they can do about it till it is deemed unrepairable.

Bought the Duet front loader washer and dryer. Nothing but problems and repairs. When I decided to throw in the towel and buy new machines my repair man convinced me to buy Whirlpool again - Cabrio. Said they are amazing. Love them except the holes in my shirts. I bag my delicates but apparently I have to bag everything. So sorry I bought them. There was a day when you could count on Whirlpool. Replacing my crappy Whirlpool gold refrigerator right now too. Hoping LG will be better. Already replaced my Whirlpool dishwasher. Went to Maytag. This company has gone downhill. I purchased a Whirlpool cabrio mod. wtw5840bwo washing machine in Oct. of 2014. As of June 2015 I am ready to kick it to the curb. The washer works to it design and hasnt broke down but it doesnt clean our clothes. We load the machine, add the right amount of clothes and recommended detergents and 1hr later after the wash cycle is completed, the clothes still stink with the smell of daily perspiration. I went back to using our old washer that has a worn out agitator. It does a better job.

We purchased our oven from Sears, and less than two years later, the oven would not cook a chicken. We do not use the oven very often. We grill out and use the top burners often. We had the oven repaired through our home warranty program, and now 8 months later, it seems to be occurring again.

We have a Whirlpool French door refrigerator with freezer drawer in bottom that is 2 years old. It makes a loud buzzing noise and freezes up in back of the freezer, as in a defrost problem. We have had THREE repairmen here to fix the problem, and after $650 in parts and labor, the same problem exists. Finally we were told that this $170 beautiful Whirlpool refrigerator is deemed repairable and is junk. Whirlpool will not remedy the problem and three service techs cannot seem to repair it. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product... EVER!

When we remodeled our kitchen after checking a lot of brands of oven we decided to buy the Whirlpool Self Cleaning stove/oven. Loved the look of it. When trying to clean the oven I followed the directions just as its said in the manual. After the cleaning was complete it didnt even look like it clean the oven. I called customer service and they told me I had to clean the oven with a little elbow grease before I put the self cleaning on? Really? I have to clean the self cleaning oven by hand beforehand? Why did I purchase a self cleaning oven then? And because it was just 2 weeks out of warranty they would not help at the 800 number. NEVER NEVER again will I ever purchase Whirlpool! How they treat their customers is disgusting!

Ill be just as responsible as Whirlpool and Nasons has been... I bought my Whirlpool stove less than 2 yrs ago from a reputable business in a nearby community, CROWN POINT, INDIANA! I have had trouble w/ the burner knobs ever since I bought it...just brushing up against them turns them on. Enough gas escapes into the kitchen... I bought knob covers to prevent that (they did NOT work)! So I called the place I bought the stove from and they sent out a repairman...he said there was no fix for it... but that I owed him $69.99 for the service call. And every time I turn the oven on to heat it to bake something you smell gas also... Im almost afraid to use it... 3 nights ago I woke up to the kitchen filled w/ gas...knob covers on but still one was still on a bit... it was a whopping -25 and we had to open windows to clear out the gas... you shouldnt have to check the knobs once youve turned them off. Nor should they come on when you brush by them...when youre not even cooking... Granted I am short but the serviceman said I should move everything I needed to cook w/ closer to me so I didnt have to brush up against the stove... what????? I have cabinets above and all around the stove. What I cant use those cabinets????? Something is terribly wrong w/ the stove and the service... If youre in the market for a new stove, dont buy a Whirlpool and for certain DONT buy anything from NASONS appliances in Crown Point Indiana... They along with whirlpool dont stand behind their product... They told me they never had that complaint before. WRONG, I read it more than once on this site...liars all of them!

We purchased our Whirlpool Refrigerator, oven, and microwave a little more than a year ago. Not a single negative event with any of these products and my wife and I wholeheartedly recommend Whirlpool for operation and last ability, unlike the products we replaced them with.

Bought a Whirlpool fridge at Lowes sale when the previous Samsung suddenly died before the Thanksgiving Day. Under the circumstances at the time, it was largely a price driven decision (for a fridge of a certain size with some non-negotiable characteristics, though.) I could not be happier with its performance in the two years since the purchase.

Whirlpool anode rod went bad in 2 months. Called Whirlpool, would not stand behind warranty. Had previous hot water tank (not a Whirlpool) in for 10 years with same well and water conditions. Also noticed Whirlpool hot water tank is not nearly as efficient on energy use. Overall, this is a very poor water heater and even worse customer service to not replace a part that was under warranty.

Fridge: no ice cubes. Water dripping from the door. Base of one door damaged. After 4 WHIRLPOOL repair services visits, ice cubes OK. Dishwasher: 40% of the time, kitchen floor damped with dirty smelly sticky water. Were first told: Its the product; next: Its the way you arrange dishes; next: The filter is not completely clean. And we are waiting on the 4th visit from the Whirlpool service. We have owned at least 7 dishwashers so far, this is just unbelievable! Poor poor poor performance, with dishes covered with dirty film once in a while. And you never know when the dishwasher will decide to misbehave...Stove: White ceramic stove one day broke with a sauce pan cooking on top of it... Microwave and stove and oven: they beep and beep and beep, to tell you you are increasing the heat (one beep every time you touch), to remind you infinitely the food is ready, etc. And there is NO way these contacts can be disconnected. Now imagine oven on plus 2 saucepans cooking on the stove for which you have to increase/decrease temp. plus the dishwasher finishing, all at once, every day. How much beeping it makes after a long day at work.

Whirlpool washing machine model WCW4950XW2 - We have a barely two year washing machine that we purchased at Best Buy and it no longer drains or spins. After $100 repair call we were told that this is a common problem with this model. It is a transmission problem, and with the way the machine is built a repair person cannot get into the transmission to fix it. He suggested we buy a new washing machine. This is a travesty on so many levels! If whirlpool know it has a problem it should offer a partial refund for the purchase of a newer better machine. I keep thinking about what our landfill in this world look like with the proliferation of appliances that are engineered to last a year or two. I can guarantee you I will never purchase any Whirlpool produce again, and I will research whether other brands are associated with the whirlpool brand before I buy it. Sad that a once good company has gone to hell.

The Gold Series Whirlpool dishwasher has some cool features for changing the configuration of the shelves, etc. After that its all downhill. Poor washing, worse drying. In the past 6 months Ive tried: less dishes, redistribute them differently every use, lower/raise upper shelf, use liquid detergent, powder packets, drying agent... nada. Absolutely NO remnant of food can be on the dishes. Of course I rinse everything well prior to loading washer; this one wants them CLEANED. I dont give a flying fig how loud a machine is as long as its doing its job. This one quietly does very little. AND the genius who designed that horrid cutlery basket needs a new job.The basket slides onto the inside of the door, making it difficult to reach into; it can sit on the outside of the lower tray but it falls off at the slightest disturbance. The baskets are narrow with hinged lids; the lids have small and medium slits so items are placed individually. If your cutlery is the right size! Ours is a little wide in the handle, they dont fit and must be placed into the opened, narrow baskets and butt up against each other. We are only 2 folks, I cook one meal a day and run the washer TWICE because bowls and pots take up the entire space, so I either wash the remainder by hand or keep the sink full of dirty pots and dishes. LOVELY. Bring back the old washer!!!

I love my stove and all of its features. My stove is easy to clean and I Love the self cleaning oven. I have a flat top so that helps when it comes to cleaning, not to mention it makes cooking a breeze. I love all the push buttons and how smart my stove is. I highly recommend my Whirlpool to anyone looking for a great appliance.

Bought fridge in 2010, I am about to replace the icemaker for the 2nd time at a cost of over $300 each time by a Whirlpool authorized repair tech. No kids in the house and very limited use of icemaker. Motor keeps burning out because of the design flaw per the tech. Very poor design for a $1,500 fridge. Due to these issues I do not intend on purchasing Whirlpool products in the future.

We purchased a $3000 WRF990SLAM00 / K22019120 refrigerator in 2013. Within the first two and a half years we have already put over $700 in repairs. We were told today the coolant for the ice maker has a leak (either a slow leak or a fast leak, they arent sure). But from here on out we will have to put coolant in it to keep the ice maker working. A week ago we spent another $300 to repair the water dispenser. This is the worst fridge we have ever owned. Whirlpool could care less and we are basically out right at $4,000! DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

I have used my Maytag washing machine weekly for the last 11 years... Never a problem. Just a well made, basic machine to wash clothes thoroughly. It does not have all the bells and whistles some of the newer models have, but it is a washing machine, not a video game.

We wanted the ease of use and longevity of a top loader WITHOUT a full touch screen. Whirlpool has such units in a choice of price levels to accommodate most everybody. The agitator free design and automatic water level feature is amazing. Clothes are nice and clean and uses about the same amount of water as flushing a toilet.

It took 5 deliveries to get a fridge that wasnt damaged. First two came from Leons - the same damage on both. Then they said we had to go through Whirlpool because so much time had lapsed. We had purchased the full set of Whirlpool Gold for our kitchen renovation; therefore, we were unable to unpack the fridge until the cabinets were completed. I phoned Whirlpool Canada, and they said they had to send a service tech. The service tech came, and he confirmed the damage and was told to patch it with a proxy. Sorry but I had just paid $1500 for a new fridge. I didnt want a dent and damage. We received no offer for discount to accept the damaged fridge. They sent another one, still damaged. They used their truck to deliver and the guy had no idea how smashed our brand-new trim.So Whirlpool sent another fridge, and even though I asked them to check it before sending, they didnt. It was damaged. This is four fridges. Im tired of fighting with Whirlpool. I called Leons, and they take care to get me a new fridge undamaged. I told Whirlpool about the damage, and they sent a form. First, they wanted me to claim on my house insurance. Why should I put on a claim? If not, get two quotes and fill out tons of paperwork. Im just too tired after fighting for over two months to get a fridge that isnt damaged. Not even an offer of compensation to cover all the time taken off work and the stress on me and my family. This is the second set of Whirlpool Gold we have purchased in the last 4 years. I doubt I will ever purchase again, because you are a company that doesnt treat your customers with respect or concern.

(Model WTW5640XW3) Whirlpool Cabrio worked Good for 11 months (just after warranty Expired). Replaced capacitor would not spin, hums loudly and smells like burning Plastic. Then about 2 months after that Lid locked, failed, replaced. 7 months then Actuator failed and now looks like the Main board give up. I dont know where The original parts are made but they are Cheap junk. New technology is crap for Washing machines, gears transmission and Solenoids last a lot longer plus they clean your clothes. And belts and solenoids.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio about five years ago. Last year, the motherboard had to be replaced. This year, it started load balance issues on the spin cycle; in other words, it wont spin without sounding like its going to tear itself apart. It cost $100 to have someone look at it, and was going to cost almost $400 to repair, and whats next? I spent a lot of money for this machine, and Whirlpools answer was to offer me a discount to purchase a new Whirlpool. Do I have Stupid tattooed on my forehead? I will never buy a Whirlpool again!!!

2 TOP of the line fridges in 3 years!!! First replaced by company CO after I contacted him with outrage as fridge was nonrepairable at 1.2 years of life. Second diagnosed with similar same issue less than 2 years later on same model fridge. This is a rip-off from the company, absolute nonsense that fridge lasts on average 1.5 years with the price sticker over 2500$... Someone should put them out of business!!! This is scam not fridge!!! Stay away from this company, they are not what they use to be, NAME AND QUALITY IS GONE.

After purchasing 3 whirlpool items in the last 4 years and 2 of them breaking down a dryer last year, and my water heater today. I no longer have faith in your products. I am disabled and was a whirlpool customer, but after my recent experience with your failing products, I will not be purchasing any more! Its great your willing to send the parts for the water heater but, it costs $65 to have them installed. I bought from you because you had a quality item and obviously that is no longer true. Contact me if you still want me as a customer.

I purchased a Whirlpool microwave oven from American Furniture/TV in Fenton, Missouri on 11-13-2010. It had a Whirlpool 1 year warranty and a Performance Guarantee for five years. I noticed recently that the plastic on the door had hairline cracks near the handle and now is beginning to crack around the glass on the front door. I called American when I noticed the cracks by the handle and was told that it was cosmetic and not covered. Now the cracks around the glass may be a bigger problem if they let fumes out from the microwave. I am waiting for a second answer from American. I feel like the problem is with the plastic itself.

I have used Whirlpool products for over 30 yrs. This is the worst made product I have ever purchased. The ice maker doesnt produce very much ice. The cold water on door isnt cold. There is too much wasted space in freezer and refrig. side. You cannot get anyone to call you back to call for help. I contacted Whirlpool over a month ago. No return call yet. Consumers beware!! Ice machine went out right after the year warranty was up. Convenient right? We called a hometown tech to come out and look at the water valve. He was unable to locate it, so we called Whirlpool service. After waiting 30 mins, they told us they cant tell us where to locate it for safety reasons, and if we wanted anything done to the refrigerator, we needed to pay a tech to come see it. EXTREMELY RUDE!!! I would NOT recommend whirlpool ANYTHING.

I bought a Whirlpool washer and after a few months it started acting up when spinning. I contacted your so called customer service and they gave me the runaround. Told me I wasnt loading it right. Im 60, I know how to load a washer. Well it got worse and worse and finally went kaput. Its going to cost over $100 to fix the springs and I was told it was your lemon and all that brand was bad. I will never buy another Whirlpool product because you wont stand behind them....

This is the worst washer Ive ever owned. It consistently gets off balance, doesnt clean the clothes, and is a perfect example of poor design. I have owned the washer for approximately 9 months, and hate it. Im getting rid of it as soon as possible.

I have not had any problems with my Whirlpool refrigerator. It is four years old and has had two owners, including myself. It has the stainless steel look and has top to bottom french doors, one side is the freezer and the other the refrigerator. Both sides are equally the same size. It has a filtered water dispenser and ice maker in the door. Id say for the price it is a really good value.

We bought this refrigerator because it was the only panel ready one we could find. When it was delivered the two doors did not line up. There was an adjustment that could be made but it required that Whirlpool had to do it. We made an appointment and was told it would cost $179 for the adjustment!! This for a refrigerator we had just purchased for several thousand dollars. The service person showed up and after working on the refrigerator he could not balance the doors. He blamed it on uneven floor, misaligned cabinets – anything he could say to shift the blame from Whirlpool. We called and complained again. They sent out another service person. He was just as useless as the first one. Told us to even out the doors we would need to shim the refrigerator which he would not do. Complained to Whirlpool with no results. Finally hired someone not affiliated with Whirlpool who was able to get the doors to be aligned. Never Never buy a Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid Appliance. They do not stand behind their products and do not care about their customers!!
