I also have the same water running into the refrigerator problem that so many people have reported. Im about to throw the Whirlpool out and start over. It is such poor business that whirlpool wont admit that the appliance has a major problem and fess up to correcting it for owners. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance and will warn everyone to also steer clear of Whirlpool.

Whirlpool’s customer service is one of the worst I have encountered. They consider a 6-7 year old $1500.00 range to be old! I said to her, “Wow, if the population was to throw their Whirlpool appliances into the landfills after 7 years, this would be quite a horrendous situation.” I think its disgusting for a company to build appliances with a shelf life of 6-7 years and with only a 1-year warranty! What a horrible brand! I will never buy another Whirlpool brand product ever again. You spend $1500.00 on a range oven and then around 5 to 7 years the control board blows out and costs another $500.00 to replace plus a service agents fee to remove and install.I asked the Whirlpool agent if I could get the control board discounted and she refused and said, “I am sorry, we are unable to help you.” Pathetic! Their cost on these boards is around $120.00 or so. I was told by an appliance service rep they could discount that $500.00 board even half and still make a decent profit. Do not ever buy Whirlpool. Go with other brands instead. Their customer service policies are horrible. Your hard-earned money will be buying an appliance with a 6 to 7-year shelf life before major repairs.

Whirlpool top loading piece of junk! I would give it a zero star review if I could! Do not buy this machine!!! I agree with many other reviews. It doesn’t get the clothes cleaned and now a completely doesn’t work. We reset it, we’ve had the service guy come in and replace a bunch of parts on it. In 2006, I paid $1,300 for above fridge and bought extended warranty. Within a year, I had four service calls for condensation in bins that causes freezing of lunchmeat, veggies, etc. and anything put in them. The A&E service company said to use plastic bags and then said I should keep the bin drawers open at an inch so air could flow. Next call said vacuuming underneath would solve it. Final call said again to use bags and suggested modifying the fridge by making a hole in the sidewall (which would nullify the warranty).Since I declined modifying the fridge, he contacted Whirlpool saying I declined service. I still have this problem, was going to call for service because I could really use the space the drawer provides but I have a feeling I will just be throwing money away. I was going to contact Whirlpool but Ive done that too. I feel totally ripped off on an item that should have quite a few years of service left.

3-4 years ago, I had replaced my hot water heater with a Whirlpool, which was purchased at Lowes. On 10/23/11, I awoke to a flooded basement from the said water heater. When I entered the basement, I was able to verify that the water was spraying right from the casing of the unit. Who knows how long it had been spraying, but the place was a complete mess. The water was about 10 inches deep and many things were ruined. I proceeded back to Lowes and purchased another exact unit. This morning I awoke to the sound of what seemed to be water bubbling, only to enter the basement and see exactly what I saw just three weeks previously... another flooded basement from water just pouring out the side of the unit. This is an obvious defect in craftsmanship. Now I find myself with a flooded basement, no hot water, and a decision to make. Do I fight for another replacement or give up on the brand? A replacement water heater will solve my lack of hot water but for now, the question is for how long? Not to mention the cost and time spent with the clean up I did twice.

Its snapping by the hinges. I have been charged about $300 per lid. I believe the hinges are not durable enough to support the weight of the glass lid. I have read hundreds of reviews regarding the same model and issues, I also have a friend who has the same model and is experiencing the same issues and has had to replace the lid twice now. Im disappointed that Whirlpool has not taken accountability for this and either issue a recall or replace the lid at no charge to the customer. If there has been so many complaints, why hasnt Whirlpool taken action on this? I am requesting that the Whirlpool Headquarters address this issue immediately.When I called customer service to complain about this issue, the rep informed me that they have never heard about this issue before. From all the reviews I have read online, it seems that customer service is telling them the same thing. By not addressing this defect, Whirlpool will lose thousands of customers. Very dependable. We loved all of our appliances in the past as well as in the present. It has been a go to for us especially with bad experiences with other brands like OG and GE. We have gotten a washer and a good dryer and have worked. No complaints whatsoever.

Our 2005 whirlpool duet washer steel drum and plastic tub broke. My husband diagnosed the problem and opted to fix it to save money. The parts are under warranty but you still pay labor and technician visit running up to $250-$300. The plastic tub was obtained only if we paid for it $100 and the steel drum they sent under warranty. The plastic tub has a hole with a black plug and sensor in it. There is a discrepancy in the measurement of the old tub and new tubs hole that is slightly larger, therefore when installed a steady stream of water leaks out. I now have 3 plastic tubs as that was their solution, to send more of the same that did not measure correctly. An investigation was done to determine they were the correct parts. As asked we had a whirlpool technician come to verify parts were correct and being installed correctly and the parts sent would not fix the machine due to the hole discrepancy. Many calls were made to whirlpool and they continue to give me the runaround. They now are not taking their technicians information. The technician has given the information to 3 sales reps in the new england area and made several phone calls to whirlpool and no one is willing to give us a solution.

Worst appliance we have ever bought. Our last fridge (also stainless french door) we had for about 14 or 15 years and only the door bins cracked that we put gallon milk jugs in (dont do it - they are too heavy and get warm from the door opening). This fridge is a piece of junk. We were told it was stainless - rust spots started appearing the first year. The deli drawer lid broke within a month or two, but I didnt care about that so I just threw it away. The ice machine stopped working a little after the first year. Today however is what got me to write a review - I spent a couple of hours trying to duct tape and make wood supports to hold up the frame for the produce drawers - one of which is totally cracked when it fell from having the support break. While doing this I noticed there are hairline cracks on the front of all 4 of the shelves! Also, this one has a wire basket in the bottom instead of a full drawer - probably more supportive, but it means stuff constantly falls into the bottom of the fridge and it is extremely hard to get in there to clean.

My last fridge leaked all over the floor. Mice were living in it also roaches. My landlord didnt believe me though Ive shown him several times. He didnt want to spend the money. Luckily his wife came over and saw how bad it was so she got a new refrigerator for me and it has been a blessing ever since. It is just the right size for my apartment.

Add us to the list of those whose Whirlpool Cabrio washer has failed. First, it was the infamous circuit board at a cost of $475 installed. Now, the tub bearing is apparently beginning to fail given the machines new propensity to roar like a freight train during the spin cycle. A letter to Whirlpool resulted the too bad ** letter that everyone else has gotten. This really should be a class action suit money-maker for some attorney. So now the question: Throw good money after bad hoping to get an additional couple of years out of it or bite the bullet and buy some reliable brand?Never again a Whirlpool, thats for sure. I pointed out to them that in the age of the internet, they wont go unpunished for this but theyre nothing if not shortsighted. I purchased the French Door refrigerator only 7 months ago. It has been emitting a low pitched, loud, vibrating hum for days. I called the company and spoke with a well-trained representative who informed me that there needs to be a service call. When I mentioned that this did not indicate an acceptable situation for future dependability, I was pitched to purchase an extended warranty. Further… this company doesnt monitor Consumer Affairs. Quality and standing by a product are manufacturer qualities that were not evident during the call.

I have been given a runaround for over a month to get my refrigerator fixed. They gave me a defected piece and it broke down in less than a year. I have been calling them up every day and they put me on hold forever-then they ask for all the details and direct me to another company. I have been extremely dissatisfied with the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine!!! I tried to take it back and Lowes would not let me return it because I had had it for 6 months. It doesnt put enough water in the machine to get all of the clothes wet. It doesnt get the clothes clean and it leaves some kind of lint residue all over dark clothes. I am only able to put in 1/4 of the clothes I put in my Maytag washer which I loved, but it wore out. I am also short and it is so deep I have to use a stool to get up on to reach into so i can reach the bottom of the machine. Even though it is a huge tub, I can only put a few pieces of clothes in it to get it to clean the clothes. It is a very poor design and needs to be recalled!

I bought this Whirlpool french door, bottom freezer refrigerator for $2100. In 10 years I have replaced the compressor three (3) times. Bad design and a real piece of crap! I was told by Sears that all Bottom freezer Whirlpool refrigerators are made by Amana. That is why I bought the frig. Purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio supposedly a top of the line washing machine? Not even three years old, used 3 times a week for normal to small loads, for a family of three. Stopped spinning water out, so clothes are soaking wet at the end of the cycle. Repairman said I need a new transmission and inner spin basket is completely worn. New parts will cost me around $500!!!! Repairman said this should not be this worn down in 2 1/2 years. I have a Whirlpool Washer Duet 4.3 cu.ft. On 24/3/2011. It has lasted only 5 months. Now, the spinner makes a loud noise. On 29/9/2011, Whirlpool sent a service man out and he replaced the bearings. But the washer is no longer the same and it is still loud. I will not buy Whirlpool again.

Have a Whirlpool side-by-side with water and ice dispenser on the door. It has lasted over 20 years. It has a large ice maker which makes more than enough ice and it has never broken. Since it is older it does not have gallon depth shelves on the door, but I have never missed not having them there is plenty of internal shelf space.

Steam cleaning DOES NOT work! I have complained to Home Depot and Whirlpool since my purchase 9/2018. They sent 2 different repair men and both times I was told there was nothing they can do. Whirlpool washing machine M# wtw7340xw2 / S# c14270996 - Bought in 11/26/2012. Never was real satisfied with the way the clothes were washed. They never came out real clean and smelled like there was still soap in the clothes. It has been less than two years and now it will not run. Turn the unit on and all it wants to do is turn on the pump to drain the tub. Im a refrigeration technician and know how to run a diagnostic test Whirlpool has for this machine. I get an LF code which is water long fill so I checked out the water tube which is ok. So the problem is in the circuit board not sensing the water level. To replace this board is around $350 dollars and if I had someone else do the work I would be looking at over $550 dollars. I only paid around $500 dollar for the washer so it does not make any sense to put a new solid state board into this washer which cost as much as the washer. Our old GE washer lasted us for over 20 years and did a better job washing our clothes. There should be a better warranty on these machines than one year. I did not buy the extended warranty because of the cost and I expect that the product should last at least 10 years or more.

I bought my Whirlpool Cabrio Top Loading HE washing machine and dryer duo in February 2009. I carried an additional extra extended warranty for an extra 3 years. Now, at the dispenser where you add the bleach, it has rusted. The rust has gotten so bad the lid has detached from the body of the machine. I cant understand how a machine less than 4 years old could rust so badly. I called Whirlpool to complain and they suggested I get it repaired and my cost. A car that sits outside in rain, sun, snow and hail does not rust in 3 years. I bought the machines from Home Depot. The way Whirlpool has handled this, I will never buy another Whirlpool.

I suppose the idea was good - less water. However, when you are washing clothes, water and agitation are key. Without an agitator, clothes are just spun around with water and detergent. This washing machine (WTW4950XW2) couldnt clean any dirt off clothes. Clothes go in dirty. They come out damp, wrinkled, and dirty. I got this washing machine free from my father and am thinking I got ripped off. No wonder he gave it away. Piece of junk.

Whirlpool French Door Plus 3 drawers: This MSRP $3400 refrigerator has great features. Great ice makers. No issues up top. First 18 months were great. 4 repairs in the past 11 months. All freezer temp issues. We had noticed a number of ice sparkles forming on our unopened food. Frozen fruit was mushy. Temp usually read 0 degrees. One day I opened it and the temp was 40. Two hours later, it was close to 0. I started monitoring it closely. High temperatures occurred around noon. Zero degrees most of the time. After the third repair, service tech called Whirlpool and found part was redesigned. New part didn’t help. We understand the freezer has a heater in it, to defrost. The heater stays on too long. That explains why the freezer temp went as high as 50 degrees, while the fridge was perfect.I purchased this at Lowes. I always buy Lowes extended warranties. Thankfully, they bought back my 30 month old refrigerator. Kudos to Lowes warranty company. Never put on long holds. Fast response. I noticed the price for the warranty on refrigerators in this price range has increased by $100. Reflects a lot of repairs on refrigerator models. One thing though. I learned 3 repairs within a 30 day period is considered one repair, for purposes of their lemon policy. I will also add that the warranty company reimburses you 50% of the cost of filters. Simple process. I have read complaints that they make it too difficult to collect. That is just not true. Have been reimbursed $100 for filters to date. In 5 years, Even at the increased price, the savings will pay for the warranty. No brainer.

We bought a Whirlpool range. The same day we got it the burner exploded and my electricity went off. I called the customer service to request a replace, they told me a technician had to go and look at it. They did. I had to miss a day of work as they come between 9 to 5 pm (will not tell you what time). The guy say the range is defective (really!??) and will need to request parts. I called them again (after 15 times you wait minimum 30 min each time). They told me they can replace the parts. I said I bought a new appliance not an use one. Money back. Told me somebody will contact me. Week later nobody contact me and still waiting 30 min each time. I called nobody answer my calls. I wonder I may get somebody if I wait hours? No idea. Please do not buy from this guys... They are bad in all the way.

The Whirlpool microwave has been very reliable and efficient. I like its multiple functions, from heating up leftovers to defrosting meat and poultry, baking potatoes. All the functions are easy to use.

Bought this Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine 4 years ago not knowing it was a low level water washing machine. A man would have had to design this piece of crap. Not only does it not clean the clothes because the agitation on it is as slow as sloth. On top of that the clothes tie themselves in a knot when finished. If you don’t want the frustration of clothes washing, I would highly recommend you not buy this type, if you enjoy cussing then this machine is for you.

I bought a new whirlpool washer 12/15. In May 2016 it stopped spinning fast, clothes are coming out wet, still waiting for it to be repaired. Waited 3 weeks for a part, repairman came out today, it did not fix the problem. Now it doesnt work at all. Service tech said wait another week for more information. Called whirlpool. They offered me a $50 gift card to cover the laundromat. I paid $1200 for this washer. whirlpool doesnt care. I want a replacement. They said the warranty covers repair only, but they cant fix it.

The capacity is small but it does a good job of washing and drying the dishes. I always check to make sure that all dishes are washed including silverware and they are. My dishwasher is quite old but it is still sufficient for our use.

I bought Whirlpool hot water heater with the Honeywell part in 2014 and the thermal box went out. No flashing lights, no way to reset. I understand that Whirlpool had a class action lawsuit after researching. Still selling this product to consumers. Whirlpool should be held responsible, and be made to give an allotment to replace homeowners with hot water tank of choice! If lawsuit is active please add my name.

12 months and 2 weeks, my ice maker quit working. I called Lowes where I purchased this top of the line junk. The first thing they asked was do I purchase the extended warranty. I said no. He advised to call a repairman he recommended, but I would have to pay for the repairs. Whirlpool was just as bad; no warranty, you pay. It appears they are both relying on warranties rather than selling dependable products or customer satisfaction. A couple months later, ice forming on the bottom of the freezer, and puddles every couple of days in front of the refrigerator. I pulled the two draws out and removed the ice. Within a week, it was back. A $2400 refrigerator should last longer then a 1 1/2 years without falling apart. My Whirlpool dishwashers only lasted 1 1/2 years also.

Cabrio Whirlpool washer - I hate this washer. Had it for about 3 years now and it will not spin out and does not give a code. Called a service tech out and they cannot find anything wrong with it. The water goes out but will not spin. It sits on 20 minutes and does nothing. Will not buy another Whirlpool washer. Wanted a good washer and got a piece of junk. This washing machine is terrible. It barely cleans my clothes and frequently gets off balance. I am now on my second repair call in less than 3 years. (I bought the unit in the summer of 2013. It is now the winter of 2016.) The last repair guy tried to blame me, suggesting that I was filling it too much and with heavy materials. Last night, I washed 5 or 6 doggie towels. Not even large, bath sized towels. And the whole thing just stopped. It wont spin and wont unlock. What a piece of crap.

Right at 18 months ago, we bought the Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load washer. The last washer we had was the bottom of the barrel Whirlpool model and it lasted 8 years. So, I had no problem purchasing the brand. But now, our washer wont go through the cycles and we hare having lid lock issues. The repair guy said the lid lock was fine which I thought was good news because he said it would be $300 to replace including his service call. Now, it looks like our choice is a $350 motherboard, or a new washer. Whats wrong with this picture? I can go to Lowes right now and buy a used one (exactly the same for $399), pay $350 to repair my two-year-old $750 washer, or buy a different washer? Its hard to believe that a $750 washer is only good for 2 years.

Think twice before buying Whirlpool appliances. In our experience, quality and durability are a real issue. Here is our story. 5 years ago we built a winter vacation home. We bought brand new Whirlpool appliances from a reputable vendor at full price. Washer, dryer, double oven, and refrigerator. The washer arrived damaged. The damage was a button that was depressed and could not be released. This was brand new washer, never used, but Whirlpool insisted that we had caused the damage. It was only after the vendors tech got involved that Whirlpool relented and sent a repair tech.Next, the bottom oven door came apart in my hands after just days of use. I had to fight (yes fight and argue!) with Whirlpool customer service to send a repair tech. Finally after much arguing Whirlpool sent a tech and the oven door was repaired. The tech told us that this was a common defect! (Shame on you Whirlpool!) So why you might ask, why am I complaining? Well this is a vacation home. We are here 3 months a year (times 4 years = 1 year of very light use) and today the oven door came apart in my hands again. That makes twice in 12 months of light use. Frankly, this is shameful! I do not understand how this company gets away with it!I am disgusted with Whirlpool crap quality and crap customer service and I want everyone to know what they can expect when buying Whirlpool. I suggest you check all available reviews before placing your order for anything from Whirlpool. As for this new oven door repair? Ill report again after talking with Whirlpool but I expect to be told Sorry sucker, the warranty is over! Buyer beware!

This machine, like all other water sensor machines, will not let you wash a few items that are lightweight without filling the whole machine up almost all the way. The reason being is that if the items are light, they will float in the water above the water level and the sensor thinks it needs to put more water in and even with putting something in to weigh it down like a wet towel doesnt always work, nor should you have to do this. You will waste more water in the long run if you only have a few items to wash, ie baby clothes, underwear, rags, etc. I am so disappointed that I had no other choice but to get this machine.

Purchased a 450.00 Whirlpool over- the-range microwave oven in October 2015 and on January 4, 2017 it is not heating. Timer, light and turntable is working properly. I have a refrigerator model wrs325fdam. Its not a year old and I cant believe the runaround that I am getting from Whirlpool customer service. Come one day everything in freezer melting. Call a repair person. He come out, diagnose the problems, orders $825 worth of parts for a $899 refrigerator, puts the parts in. On the temperature in the freezer reads 80 degrees. No its order $200 more parts for this scrap metal pile. At what point do the people give a damn at the consumer, its not like anybody has common sense. Im going on two weeks without a ten-month-old refrigerator and four days waiting for them to figure this out. Would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone who cares about fair treatment.

The clothes have a stale and mold smell. The whites like tee shirts and shorts and other whites are a dingy yellowish color. The detergent that was recommended and pellets used every month do not work. I have called and complained several times and the operator said that she had one and it works fine, the other person said to wipe the inside of the washer and leave the door open after each wash and not to store the dirty laundry in the washer till next use. They never explained that you have to run a special pellet through the afresh clean washer cycle. Well, we have tried it every time and the clothes still do not clean and stink bad. We asked them for an exchange and they said no. Is there anything we can do?

We have had our Whirlpool range for probably 20 years. We have never had any issues or problems with it. Our washer and dryer are both Whirlpool too. I would recommend this brand 100%! I think this is the brand that my mom always had too. Their products are very well made and last forever (it seems like they do!).

Whirlpool water heaters are a disgrace!!!! I have never been so dissatisfied in my life with a product. I bought this water heater 11/2017. Three months later, it was not working. Whirlpool sent an igniter and I had a technician to put it on. This was a short fix because it broke down 2 weeks later. I called customer service and of course they gave me the runaround. I will never ever buy another Whirlpool product. This company is the worst.

We bought a Whirlpool gas range about a year and half ago. The oven started giving lighting problems we had to light with a match every once in a while. Then the broiler igniter started giving same problems so I replaced the igniter, still did not work. Then I tried the control panel, still nothing. The igniters were about 45.00 each. The control panel was 250.00. Then I replaced the spark module and it is now working. Some models the spark module dont control oven and broiler but mine does. That was 200.00. The best thing was the part place I was ordering from would exchange the parts that you try and they also can answer questions either online or by phone, Appliancepartspros.com. My oven model # is wfg371lvs3.

WRF989SDAF 29 Cu. Ft.. Weve had nothing but problems from this refrigerator. Water filter stopped working after 3 months. At one year, the left corner froze over and created a big bulge and repairman said it was a recall for a part and he had to completely dismantle the left side of the refrigerator. At one year 3 months, the ice maker started leaking water and all the ice melted and ruined our hardwood floors while we were on vacation. At one year 6 months, the freezer stopped working and we had to throw out hundreds of dollars in food. Along with the freezer stopping, the ice maker stopped as well and the water dispenser starting leaking again. What a nightmare this refrigerator has been!

Our Whirlpool Dishwasher model WDT710PAYW is less than 2 years old and is rusting on the outside of the door where the steam vent is. Apparently the hole that was made in the door for the vent was not sealed, now the paint is blistering up due to the rust. Will not purchase another Whirlpool.

We have a built in double oven and we had some early problems with the thermostat. And from time to time the clock resets to 12:00 oclock when there is no other power outage indications. Its also been a challenge understanding the instructions sometimes.

Purchased a Whirlpool microwave for new home in December 2013. Model WHM31017AW-1. This is the second time the heater element has to be replaced. Im starting to learn the warning signals: open door and then a short time later the microwave would die a sudden death. In my 20s I purchased for my house in Boca Raton Fl all Whirlpool products... they worked forever. Now not so much. In order to get this one fixed again, I had to get a service contract for $300 which would be cheaper than getting it fixed again, heating element $400 and service call another $100. Serious $300 service contract money too much for a senior citizen. Never will I buy another Whirlpool product as a result.

Informed that because washer was 1 year out of warranty. It was 2 years old. Parts were not guaranteed. Cost to repair $400.00 including labor. Maytag Store came to my rescue and it only cost $200.00. 2 years later, washer is not filling with water correctly. Have mixed feelings about repairing or replacing. If replacing, how to select a reliable washer. How do you select, if when we purchased this washer it was rated very high. Whirlpool does not help with any issue. They were extremely rude. Felt helpless dealing with them. Need a new washer and have no idea which brand to go with.

This refrigerator stopped working withing 2 weeks of delivery. Lost a great amount of food. It was a real hassle to get the warranty company out. Took several days. Now there are places on each shelf in the refrigerator where food freezes and I have to throw it out. I am not real happy with this.

Our gas stove (Whirlpool WFG714hLAS1) has been working fine and it looks great. However I just tried the self clean cycle to clean it up. I dont do a lot of cooking with only the two of us, but I like to keep things clean. I was very surprised after the first time - it didnt look much different than before I ran it! I was used to simply wiping down the oven following a cleaning, just removing the leftover ash. I havent had to scrub an oven for many years and it is very hard for me. I ran a second cleaning cycle and it didnt look any cleaner. We both had to kneel down and try a variety of non abrasive cleaners which finally got most of the grease spots, but not all. I guess we will just have to cover the roasts and try to keep aluminium foil on the bottom rack as much as possible. PLEASE re-consider buying any brand stove that has this awful feature, unless you like cleaning ovens by hand!

I bought a Whirlpool model # WRF757SDEM. It has failed twice in 7 months. The tops temperature hovers at 54 degrees Fahrenheit. The freezer works fine. I had a whirlpool fridge for 10 years before I bought this one and never had trouble with it. This particular model seems to have a design flaws according to other reviews I saw on this site that read similar to mine. We are waiting on parts. This is the second time in 6-7 weeks that it breaks down.

Whirlpool front load washer was not working. I waited two and a half weeks for parts. The parts came but they cant fix it. I waited for answer for two more weeks. They decided to replace. After waiting two more weeks, no washer. Its going on eighth week, still no washer. Theres no reason we have to wait so long after paying for the extended warranty in this day and age, and paying good money for the washer.

I purchased a Top load Whirlpool washing machine, replacing my old Whirlpool. I am so unhappy with this new one. I noticed that the water level are low...I had the tech here twice and they said that if here isnt any lights on the dash that the machine is working. I called the head tech, same answer. When I put the clothes in the washer I make sure that the clothes are evenly placed in the tub. The clothes comes out tangled and some not clean. Tonight I noticed that a pair of pant at the bottom of the load had white smudges/ I am so unhappy with this piece of junk/ I cant afford to buy another washer, so I am stuck with this.. I have tried all the different controls, still bad. I know the new machine are different than the old ones. I still believe that the water levels controls are not working. I have used my sister new washers and the clothes are not tangled and they are all clean.

I have had my Whirlpool Washer for many years. It agitates well and my clothes are always clean. They are easy to dry. The wringer wrings out all the water, yet they stay damp for ironing. You will love this machine. I am happy with it and hope it lives for a very long time.

Bought a Whirlpool Gas Range model WFG530S0ES0 in Nov 2015. Eleven months into owning it the oven wouldnt heat up. Turns out the motherboard and wiring harness needed replaced. Since it was within a year of purchase, parts and labor were covered. Dec 2018 the same darn thing happened. I called Whirlpool and they basically said, Tough luck, lady. Was I surprised, not in the least. I talked to a supervisor who said that they dont have a single complaint on their Gas Ranges. Did I believe that, not in the least. Whirlpool finally agreed to pay for the parts but not the labor. Whirlpool supervisor said that equipment failure occurs. I said theres a difference between reasonable equipment failure and unreasonable equipment failure. For a 3 year old Whirlpool gas range to failure twice, with the same problem, is unreasonable failure. The supervisor said in such a pleasant voice, Basically too bad for you. Oh and have a Merry Christmas.

We bought a Whirlpool model GC5SHAXVY01 side by side. The ice maker had problems within the first month, and they continued until the following year. Finally, the ice maker was deemed irreparable. Whirlpool worked with us, and we got a replacement for $600.00. The replacement had been in our home 3 months, when we realized it was leaking water. The guest room behind the fridge, had water soaked carpet, and molds growing on the baseboard. The hardwood under the fridge had been water soaked, and could not be dried by professional machines running 24 hours a day for 4 days. Oh the noise! The guest room carpet was pulled out with the baseboard immediately, and today, they are ripping out the hardwood affected in the kitchen. We called the CEOs office at Whirlpool to tell them. The answer was talk to our legal department.We are very angry. This has been very disruptive and upsetting. The floor is black under the hardwood. We are now awaiting the drying machines to come in for 3 days, and waiting to learn about what appears to be black mold. Be careful, and good luck if you buy from Whirlpool.

GW399LXUS range is Dangerous. Sheet metal cuts your fingers. In over 6 months, Whirlpool has failed miserably in fixing the problem. Bad replacement parts. Incomplete parts shipments. A dozen service calls. The local independent service companies are the only ones who have acted professionally. Other than the poor people who answer the complaint lines, nobody at Whirlpool seems to care. The product is poorly made and the product support is not competent. The range may have the features that we wanted, but who needs all this headache?

Just bought the Whirlpool 3.5 cu ft, Top Load HE washer (model WTW4815EW), but of course, the sales person did not explain that HE meant LOW WATER USAGE. Wish I had done my homework. FIRST LOAD, clothes seem to be beaten to death, and must pour in detergent before you load clothes. So, Oxyclean detergent I always used in my regular (NOT HE) washer put a hole in one towel and discolored (faded out) the others. Also seems that the fast and hard agitator would not (logically) last very long. It seems to be working very hard. Im SO disappointed. Called Whirlpool to say I dont like it. They said to call Home Depot and see what they will do about an exchange. When I did, my sales person said that almost all the washers he sells are HE. I want the old type washer back that allows me to add more water if I want, change the cycle and water levels at my discretion, add detergent when I want to, and soak clothes if I wish.

Bought the refrigerator in december 2017. Called them 2 times already and just called them again on sunday. They are coming out friday the 15th again to fixed a leaking problem. The first time was the freezer was freezing up a lot of ice which they claimed it was the rubber on the bottom door of the freezer was not sealing tight enough. Second time the refrigerator was leaking so much water I was literally drying up water everyday and have towels on the floor to prevent my new floor from damage. Leaking starts again same problem. Completely frustrated now. Going to contact Consumers Affairs to see what further action I can take.

1st range arrived in June and would not heat to temperature. Sensor and control panel replaced. After 3 techs Whirlpool agreed to replace in September. 6 weeks later new range arrives. Protective film stuck to the lettering and when you try to remove it the lettering comes off. Chunk of enamel missing off inside oven door and defect in the glass cook top. Fast forward to today. THIRD range delivered. Same issue with the protective film and gouge in chalking around cooktop. Leons has been fantastic. They are replacing it with an entire new brand!

I have had many parts replaced on this refrigerator regarding ice maker. But nonetheless yesterday opened freezer and noticed a huge crack about 12 inches on the inside right of the freezer, not near a shelf or anything. I call today of course warranty is up after my 2 yr and Whirlpool says sorry maam there is nothing we can do. Seriously I purchased 2 years and 2 months ago @ $1560 and I’m told I would have to purchase a new one. I will never purchase another Whirlpool anything for we have had nothing but problems with them not standing behind their product. Model #GSS30C6EYY03. This is crazy to me. I have never heard of a refrigerator just cracking through.

I havent had my Whirlpool Cabrio washer for even 5 years and I have had to replace the glass lid and now the tub bearings need to be replaced... I have read countless complaints for the same issue. I feel like Whirlpool should at least send out free replacement bearings and the $85.00 bearing press tool that you will need if youre handy enough to fix the problem yourself. PS to all of the poor victims of Whirlpool bearings, go to Amazon and you can buy the bearings and the tool for about $150.00. You will need to order bearings part #10435302 and the bearing driver tool #w10447783... And as far as my matching dryer - knock on wood - it still runs great.

Whirlpool Duet - Front loading with additional base makes loading and unloading easy. We have had the washer and Dryer about one year now. They were replacements for Kenmore front loaders. We replaced a Kenmore front loading pair that served us faithfully for more than ten years. But when we purchased a new house we decided that it was necessary to upgrade to better units. The Whirlpool Duet pair has performed exceptionally well with one little caveat. Periodically we have to unplug the units to reset the computers when they dont function properly. Small problem, easily solved.

Just had the repairman at my house to repair my 2-year-old Whirlpool refrigerator Model GB2F4DXWS07 - he couldnt fix it. Just throw it away and get a new one. There is a blockage somewhere in the line, he suspects the lines were not cleaned before it was charged at the factory. Repairman said it was a typical 20-year-old refrigerator problem. Customer service was no help - Whirlpool live chat is currently unavailable. Lousy product with worse service. I will never buy another Whirlpool product.

We purchased the pair a year ago and its been nothing but headaches. First of all, half the clothes dont even get wet. They say its high efficiency but I dont think theres any efficiency when it doesnt even wash them. Second, when it actually does wash them, it leaves detergent all over the clothes. Imagine your black dress pants with white bleach like streaks all over them. We called because we were under warranty and a repair man came out. Totally useless. He said because its high efficiency, its supposed to do that. Not clean my clothes?? Why would I have purchased a WASHING machine that doesnt clean clothes?? Is there some other use for it Im unaware of?? He told us to try using deep water setting and extra rinse. So now we can wash 3 pair of socks at a time instead of one. Yippee.Do NOT BUY THIS CABRIO WASHER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Youd be better off with a plastic bucket from the dollar store. If you get it as a gift, the person who bought it for you may secretly hate you. I wish wed had the benefit of these reviews. Now were out $1500. Will NEVER, EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. Not only does it not work, they refuse to recall it or refund it. Off to the laundromat to WASH my clothes.

We purchased this washer (Whirlpool Cabrio) about two months ago and we have been extremely dissatisfied with its performance. Quite simply, it does not get clothes or anything else clean! I have tried every possible setting and still the dirt remains on anything that is even slightly soiled. So, I cant believe that things that dont look dirty are getting cleaned either. They probably arent even getting rinsed, even with the extra rinse option. It seems almost nobody likes this machine, so why is Whirlpool risking their formerly sterling company reputation by keeping it on the market? I would be happy if I could return it to the store for a refund, but that is not a possibility as far as I can tell. If you are considering buying this machine - dont!

Purchased a new Twin Thin washer & dryer combo when I first moved into my new apartment two-years ago since it was a good fit for the space that lies inside my patio. Nothing BUT problems from day one since it DESTROYS/EATS your delicate clothing. Repairmen in and out could find nothing wrong with it. The problem lies in the fact that the so-called gentle cycle agitates at the same rate as the other cycles, but stops so that the agitation time is shorter, but at the same time the agitation no matter if its shorter is still too vigorous for delicates. Under contract, so keep having repairmen come at no cost to me other than a complete waste of money purchase inclusive of unwearable brand new RUINED clothing.Called the company the other day & was told they could SELL me a different one, but they would probably not pay to have the LEMON removed. Also, suggested I wash my delicates in a mesh bag which is impossible to do when one has maxi dresses that tell you to wash on the delicate cycle. Mesh bags are made for small items - DUH!Repairman came again today, and was kind enough to make call to them. Later found that their response to him was that I was putting too much into the washer. Like no way, Jose! Asked tech to forward e-mail to them advising that they were more than welcome to come film me when I wash because that was NOT the problem with it. Already knew Whirlpool had discontinued this washer/dryer combo, but THAT fact was never mentioned. A lot of sites online no longer even carry the parts for it. Found others with the same issues on various sites relating to this now discontinued model which is akin to a Purana fish with shark fins. E-mail sent to tech that was here today asking him to forward my e-mail to whomever he made contact with today via phone that unless the situation is remedied that I would have to take further action. Now awaiting response from the main man tech or whatever his position is at Whirlpool.Bottom line is that it is a LEMON that has not only cost me money, but excessive amount of time to resolve this issue not to mention time spent online researching this, that and the other concerning this discontinued appliance. Warning to all out there - DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL - UNLESS YOU WANT A HASSLE and a lot of BS. Found they already have an extreme number of lawsuits against them during my online searches. So, ball is in their court at the present time. Will be calling them the end of the week once again in order to get this problem resolved unless I hear from them via e-mail.Totally exhausted from it all. Word to the wise: DO NOT waste your money on Whirlpool appliances unless you want more problems than you already have. I have health problems which are exacerbated by stress, and believe me this has been one of the most stressful and one of the longest things to resolve (two years) brought on by their lack of admittance that this DISCONTINUED product is a real LEMON. You cant find my model #WET4024EWO anywhere; looked like they put a similar one out with a slightly different model # in which the drum/agitator differs from mine. Now find Im having difficulty finding that NEW stackable model on the WEB. Leaves me wondering if that one has also now been discontinued???They have given me no resolution to my problem as of yet, and Im totally EXHAUSTED from it all. Have high blood pressure, a heart condition, and cant even sleep right anymore due to their lack of cooperation to solve this on-going problem which is certainly not helping any of my medical conditions either. Its causing nothing but STRESS, STRESS, STRESS and more STRESS! Will be filing a complaint with The Better Business Bureau by next week if not resolved by this weekend (if I live that long).Updated on 07/17/2018: In looking at this Washer/Dryer Combo Model # WET4024EW aka LEMON again today after noticing more clothes which now have holes in them after being washed on the gentle cycle with the highest water level possible, I noted the size of the agitator. Bottom line on this is that the agitator also appears TOO LARGE for the machine which also could also be another contributory factor to the destruction capabilities of this now discontinued model. Also, inspected towels today and found torn stitching & thread tearing in those also; appears EVERYTHING you wash in this machine gets destroyed. In researching further on their newer makes noticed that the agitator appears either much smaller or has been removed altogether. Hopefully this will serve to aid anyone out there who is thinking of buying this machine second hand from anyone out there that is attempting to sell it vs obtaining restitution from Whirlpool.

Purchased our hot water heater in August of 2011. About 3 days ago, it just stopped working. Surely it should last longer than this, right? Nope apparently I was taken! We called the manufacturer and described the issue. They said it was the thermopile. They could send us another out in a few days but we didnt want to wait so we paid $50 for a new one we were able to locate at a hardware store. Nobody sells these! We replaced the thermopile but no results... Pilot will not stay lit. Called Whirlpool back and they said to hit the reset button which we did. Called a technician (several) which wouldnt touch the heater. Said nobody works on these because they are riddled with issues. I pleaded with him to test it which he did. He said the control box is out! He said to cut our losses and buy a new one! I am so very upset! I cant afford another one! We called Whirlpool back again to see what they would say this time - they are sending us another control box! After reading all of the complaints and being without hot water, I am not hopeful of a good result! I plan on replacing the control box that they send and then saving for a new heater! I want my money back which Ive heard just wont happen! I have also had nothing but issues with my gas stove made by Whirlpool ever since it was only 6 months old. STAY AWAY FROM WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!! Run!!!

We paid extra for a 10 year warranty on purchase from Airport Appliances. On delivery I commented that the plastic material used throughout the fridge was of very flimsy material and wobbly. In the first week the crisper drawer joint cracked to our amazement and they had to send another one from Whirlpool. In the 14th month after the Whirlpool warranty had expired, we found the pantry drawer lid/cover shattered by the door which shut on it because of no reasonable leeway provided in its design.On calling the special warranty people they said they only covered the compressor and parts and nothing else. Called Whirlpool who quoted $85.00 for the lid, plus S&H and taxes. Now we have an eyesore every time we open the fridge when we see the taped up cracked three foot pantry drawer lid. We badly regret giving away a 25 year old perfectly working Whirlpool Workhorse Fridge and buy this newer model which we will have to live with for a quarter of a century. I am 75 years old now. Never a Whirlpool again!

I purchased a Whirlpool stove, microwave and fridge in November 2012. The fridge model #WRT771RWYB01 has been a lemon from day 1. I have had the repairman out for the same issues multiple times. Ice build up in the freezer, water tube to the ice maker frozen, food in the fridge freezing, blah, blah. They have taped, glued, replaced everything they can and to no avail. It still happens. When you call for service, it takes 2 weeks or better to get someone out. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product! This has truly been a nightmare experience!

This is a portable dishwasher with a butcher block top. Great to use as a rolling island countertop. The capacity is huge, fitting large pasta pots and dutch ovens with ease along with dish plates. Love the water miser setting and the no heat dry to protect delicate material like china dishware.

Bought the Whirlpool Cabrio in March of 2013. From the first day we used it, it Never cleaned our clothes. There is not enough water to clean the clothes. I put some grape jelly on one towel and washed 5 more towels with it, and guess what the stain and jelly are still on the towel. l went over to my daughters and washed the same towels on rinse, and the jelly was gone. Remember, it was on rinse. I THINK the CEO NEEDS to come to my house and wash his white shirts. This is a design problem. Yes, it will save you money, you dont need soap, because the washer doesnt clean your clothes with water or soap. SO, l would like to send the head CEO, this washer. l would love to see how his wife likes this WHIRLPOOL CABRIO... REMEMBER ITS US THAT KEEPS YOUR COMPANY GOING.

I bought the Whirlpool bottom mount freezer to find out there were problems with the drainage. I contacted whirlpool and they sent the parts to fix it but they did not send a repairman. I’m 80 years old and I’m not getting on the floor to fix this issue besides pulling it out to get behind it. The ice will buildup in the freezer so I have to empty the freezer and break up the ice. If I don’t break up the ice it will frost over. I will never buy another whirlpool refrigerator and I’ve been looking at replacing this one.

I purchased a Whirlpool French Door refrigerator (G16FDRXXY07) from h.h.gregg appliances and electronics in Columbia, South Carolina, on August 3, 2012. It was delivered and installed on August 11, 2012. It functioned well for three weeks, and then temperature of refrigerator dropped to 25F. Vegetables and eggs got frozen. I made a service call to Sloan Appliance Service as soon as I was aware of the problem. In the 3rd visit, the thermometer was replaced after troubleshooting. After replacing the thermometer, the temperature of the whole refrigerator got higher than it was supposed to be. Refrigerator got around 53F, and freezer got 34F. All foods in the refrigerator got spoiled. In the past six weeks, the company sent technicians to my house to check the problem, and they tried to fix this refrigerator for 5 times. The situation got worse and worse. I have not had a functional refrigerator for 6 weeks. A technician came with a compressor on 10/22/2012 to see if replacing it could fix the problem. When he cut the copper pipe, he found that refrigerant was leaked out. There is no refrigerant at all. He refilled refrigerant without changing compressor. Because he thought the leak was slow, it should be caused by the evaporator. He thought it should work and last long enough when a technician comes back with evaporator replacement. It turned out what the technician thought was wrong. The temperature of both refrigerator and freezer did not drop to normal, 53F/34F. The problem persists. I called Whirlpool customer support line several times. The response I got was that Whirlpool would not replace for having manufactured a faulty appliance during manufacture warranty. They can only keep sending technician onsite to check and repair. For 6 weeks and 5 times onsite visits/repairs, this newly purchased refrigerator still does not function.

Purchased the refrigerator in May 2018 from Lowes. August of 2019 the compressor stopped working and I lost all of my food. Repairman came out and stated that the compressor was bad on a brand new refrigerator. I am now waiting for a new compressor to arrive.

Five years ago I bought a brand spanking new HE set with a top load washer, top of the line Whirlpool. That washer has been a piece of junk and getting it serviced has been a nightmare. It broke, i.e., the computer part, and was out of commission for FOUR MONTHS. I live on an island off of Alaska, luckily I rented one for the duration but STILL. That was an EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLAR MACHINE. I liked that they are new and shiny and look cool. I hate that the electronics broke after a few years. Ive had washers dryers that lasted TWENTY YEARS. The next set I buy will have plain buttons for cycles and NO ELECTRONICS. None. And still none. Electronics instead of plain buttons. Im not kidding, I will never buy another one with electronics. I bought a top of the line Whirlpool HE top loading set for over $1400 five years ago and that washer has been a bust. I have had a repairman out over 5 times and the last time he took it out and kept it in the shop for FOUR MONTHS. I will never buy a fancy set again. I will buy the old kind with the plain old buttons. Do not make this mistake yourself! Just buy a plain old one!

I have had my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine for 14 years. I feel this is very dependable and cleans my clothes efficiently. I love the large stainless steel tub without the agitator. I can fit a king size comforter in the machine. The only problem I had with it was to clean the lint out which I would assume would have to be done to any machine that is used every other day for 14 years. Love it!

I thought this was a nice high end washer and dryer set but it does not clean even wet mud. The mud just smears onto other parts of the clothes. My dog had an accident on her blanket so I threw only her blanket in on deep water setting, this is a large capacity washer and not a large blanket, the accident was still on her blanket when the cycle was finished. I had to rewash for another long cycle. Maybe its because it doesnt have an agitator. I was worried about this when I bought it and I will never by one again.

My Whirlpool is almost 20 yrs now and we thought we were going to have to get a new one! New ones aren’t equipped with what mine has so after much investigating we decided to try a water inlet part for $35 delivered and oh to our surprise it is still performing like new. My new fridge is leaking large amounts of water on the floor, but it is not from the ice maker, as it is not hooked up. I have a Whirlpool refrigerator, model number GB2FHDXWS04, purchased in August of 2010. It was with good faith that I chose what I thought was a high-quality product, as well as, it was chosen because it was made in the USA and would be supporting US families, not China.Within one year, just as soon as the one-year warranty expired it began leaking water daily, all over my wooden kitchen floor, causing the floor boards to begin buckling. It is not from the ice maker, as it is not hooked up. Not only is my floor being ruined, but my one-year old refrigerator is not working up to standards, for which I chose the Whirlpool brand. My refrigerator has been maintained and operated by all instructions provided for this product.I assume that this company no longer wants to be in good standing with its customers, and refuses to make good on a major problem, for which a large amount of money was spent on a high quality serviceable item, by paying for the repair or replacement of obviously defective parts, or by the replacement of the entire refrigerator.

I purchased the Front-Loader Duet in June of 2008. Like many of the consumers here, my machine began making a thunderous sound during the spin cycle. I contacted Whirlpool and arranged for service. The service call was $129, the estimate was over $1100 to repair (bad bearing). The machine originally cost $899 plus tax. I called customer service to complain. I had owned two top-loader Whirlpool machines; one for 15 years, the other for 12 years with no service calls ever needed. How can Whirlpool possibly justify what is obviously a design defect by telling me that I should have bought an extended warranty? I replied that in my experience, an extended warranty is an unnecessary expense for a Whirlpool product.

Whirlpool Refrigerator WRF736sdam13. Purchased from Lowe’s June 2015... freezing started in April 2019. Freezer bottom is not draining correctly and the bottom keeps freezing making it difficult to push door close. I have the extended warranty. This will be the 5th time on Monday, July 29 repair person will come out.I talked to Whirlpool and Lowe’s. The product cannot be considered a lemon because the problem continues to be “fixable” as stated from answering service when I reported the problem again. Customer service has been amazing up to this point. Anyone else have an issue with this model with the bottom freezing solid? Any suggestions?

Stainless steel rusted in under six months - Purchased all new Whirlpool kitchen appliances in March 2013. In July 2013 finish on both refrigerator doors and freezer door was covered with tiny rust spots. The finish was obviously defective. Contacted Whirlpool, sent photos and was told the damage was cosmetic and not covered by warranty since it didnt happen within 90 days of purchase. Ice make did not work right from day one. Finally paid to replace it myself and repairman said Whirlpool discontinued the style of ice maker I had because they had so many complaints.

Whirlpool refrigerators with bottom freezers have a major defect in a tiny drainage hole hidden inside the back panel. The hole easily gets blocked with bits of debris during manufacturing or with a few bread crumbs, then it freezes shut. Then water ends up all over your floor. You cannot fix it yourself as you have to take apart the whole freezer. The repair bill is huge. This will happen often. Check on the internet and YouTube to verify & you will see that this happens to everyone with a Whirlpool. Also your floor will be ruined if you dont mop it up every few days until the repairman arrives! Stay away from Whirlpool!!

We are on our 3rd washer and second dryer in 10 years. Our latest replacement (Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer) was purchased 3 months ago and is already broken and now we have been without a washer for a whole month. Not only do they have issues with the control panel and latch, but they smell. The dryer also had a control panel issue. Trying to get our units fixed presented even more problems and wrong parts would come in, with weeks going by without parts/service. Apologies and sympathies expressed on the phone are not enough. When you buy a matching set and only one breaks, you tend to replace the matching unit, which we regret and we went back and forth with our washer and dryer. I would never recommend a Whirlpool product after this. We finally got a replacement today and due to more poor communication on their end, they could not hook up. My new washer sits in the laundry room, and I hate it before I even get it hooked up.

Apparently my machine, bought in 2011, was the first year they were made in the US. The washer has leaked soap down the front (a front loader) since day one. Service has come and replaced just about everything and its never helped. Its literally a piece of junk. Very disappointing. My older ones were great.

It gets the job done. Its no power washer, but the dishes get pretty clean and dry nicely. I have no idea how dirty the dishes can be and still get cleaned, since Im weird and pre-wash my dishes. Its stainless steel and black, and has quite a few wash and dry settings, including an option for heated or unheated dry. The utensil rack is attached to the door of the washer and cant be moved. Two levels, and pretty easy to do dish tetris with. No offense to most standard dishwashers – I need a washer about 3 times the normal size due to a passion for cooking. Its slick and matches my ultra-modern, borderline-Swedish interior.

I just bought a brand new Sterling steel refrigerator not even 2 months ago, and since I got it, noticed rusty spots coming out,and now has spread all over. I called customer care, and they said it wasnt cover under the guarantee,and to buy a special spray out of my pocket expensive to remove the rust. I am Very disappointed with the service I received, for its not even 2 months old refrigerator and it looks like it is old now. In addition, the company didnt offer to send someone to take a look, checking and make sure theres no future problems with my new purchase, and as a courtesy removing the rust free of charge.

Purchased this Upright freezer model 160NZTQ02 approximately 2 years ago. Freezer had problems maintaining temperature from the beginning. Noticed it freezing up at air vents in back of interior. Unplugged, removed contents, and let defrost by ambient temperature (approximately 4 hours). After using this method for first three defrost periods (approximately two weeks apart) I began defrosted with hair dryer, then moved on to heat gun. Bottom line is this junk wont hold temperature and freezes up every few days to a week. No more Whirpool for me.

This Whirlpool fits in a 1962 brick split level kitchen perfectly. It is both beautiful and runs as hoped. It has a bottom freezer, allowing the top portion to hold a full Thanksgiving and Christmas turkey platter. I love this Whirlpool. It is also made in America!

Bought fridge in 2010, I am about to replace the icemaker for the 2nd time at a cost of over $300 each time by a Whirlpool authorized repair tech. No kids in the house and very limited use of icemaker. Motor keeps burning out because of the design flaw per the tech. Very poor design for a $1,500 fridge. Due to these issues I do not intend on purchasing Whirlpool products in the future.

I purchased a side-by-side Whirlpool fridge and the ice maker stopped working 2 weeks after I purchased it. The retailer said that I would have to go through Whirlpool to resolve the matter. This has gone on for almost six months now. Ive had two service companies do 7 service calls to fix the problem and today, the 8th service call was supposed to happen and the guy never showed up. The company has lied to me telling me that it will just be one more service call each and every time.I want my refrigerator exchanged for a new one. They are refusing to do so until each service call is completed. I think they sold me a lemon based on the fact that nobody seems to be able to fix the issue. I cant seem to get anywhere with Whirlpool at this point and dont feel that I should have to keep a product that never worked from the start. Help! Is there some kind of lemon law on appliances?

I purchased a french door refrigerator in March 2013. I purchased the Gold Series because I wanted the best. I have come to the conclusion that Whirlpool does not make a refrigerator with the quality to reflect the Gold Label or any label. My ice maker system created ice dams inside the fresh food area, in the ice bin compartment and allowed water to run into the fresh food area and floor. After four repair visits, I am still dealing with occasional water running down the inside of the ice maker door and into the fresh food area. I contacted Whirlpool and tried to get the defective refrigerator replaced; however, the very rude customer service representative insisted on another repair call by A&E. They scheduled the appointment for a time different than we agreed upon, so at this point I have had to cancel this appointment. I do not know why anyone would want to buy an appliance made by Whirlpool, which includes several other brands.

Contacted this am. See through top glass lid is separating from plastic causing sensor to turn washing machine off. Looked complaints up on this machine and it is a common occurrence and is a defect. The machine is a little over 2 or 3 years old and out of warranty. Was told not a common occurrence and I would be responsible for repair. Model # wtw7800xw2. Serial # c12270139. Thank you.

Model WTW4850OXQO. Purchased this washer in Nov. 2011. Two months ago the washer began making a loud grinding noise in the wash cycle, so loud it can be heard throughout the house. Called the dealer whose serviceman said it was the gearbox and it would need to be replaced. Cost of the gearbox $235.00 plus $165.00 service. Called Whirlpool in TN and was told that I didnt purchase their 1 yr warranty. What the hell is a 1 year warranty but me paying Whirlpool to fix their defective piece of crap in case it breaks in the 1st year. I owned a Kenmore that lasted 11 years, an RCA that lasted 12 years, and a Maytag that lasted 10 years. Never a problem til they died of old age. This piece of ** is breaking down after 3 1/2 years. NEVER buy Whirlpool! Also, the inside of the machine SMELLS. My wife has to use bleach or cleanser to get the smell out. Once again a company in the USA thats too big to care about its customers!

We moved to a new home with all new Whirlpool appliances. We have been here 4 weeks and so far the stove has had a faulty part replaced in oven and now my microwave will not fully pop popcorn. Wonder what to expect next?? If you have a choice dont buy this brand. Inferior product.

Purchased my Whirlpool Duet front load washer WFW9150WW00 new in 2010. Also purchased extended warranty. After four years, just before my extended warranty was up, the entire inside needed replacing (drums, bearings). Now at only five years old, it keeps making a beeping noise in middle of wash cycle and wont continue working. Serviceman was told by a Whirlpool tech. that it could be two things, one being the door jamb, the other being the control panel. Door jamb was fine. Ordered new control panel ($240), had it installed and yet the washing machine still keeps beeping and doing the same thing. The serviceman doesnt know what else it could be. So, I am forced to return the part and purchase a new washing machine. I would never recommend Whirlpool to anyone!

Our daughter has a Whirlpool Duet front loader washer & dryer combination which is less than 3 years old. The washer shows fault code 71 and will not run or release the door lock. The first repairman said the interface board and/or a computer will need to be replaced. Cost is $600 to $1,000. I called Whirlpool. They recommended their trained tech be called out. He looked at the broken machine and determined the interface board was bad, and he put a temporary repair on the washer and said Its okay to use for now. He will return in 2 weeks with the replacement part. We tried the machine with a load of clothes. The machine filled up with water then quit, and the door was locked. We called to get a tech to open the door so we could retrieve our clothes. No one is available for 1 1/2 week. I called Whirlpool and was told a claim form would be mailed to me so we could be compensated for the damaged clothes. The letter arrived. I was appalled when I read it. First, it came from their Legal dept. The intent was to scare us into getting a lawyer or just use our homeowners insurance for the damaged clothes claim. I called Whirlpool back several times and was told too bad, so sad. Whirlpool might make a good machine; they cant prove it by me but their support rates a big zero.

Washing clothes is a nightmare. I am constantly removing clothing from the washing machine that have been torn and left with holes. I am utterly frustrated. Because the machine is more than three years old, there has been no solution to my problem. I have now replaced clothing items in excess of $2,000. I am always here that they will send a repairman and yet there is still the problem. This machine is costing me too much money. The newer machines have fixed the problem. There is no gap between the drum and the doorway or rubber piece. I want that piece to stop this nightmare. This machine has taken a dream of mine and demolished the experience. I hate washing clothes but more so having a machine at home and then going to the laundromat to stop the chaos with doing laundry at home.
