I just bought a brand new Sterling steel refrigerator not even 2 months ago, and since I got it, noticed rusty spots coming out,and now has spread all over. I called customer care, and they said it wasnt cover under the guarantee, and to buy a special spray out of my pocket expensive to remove the rust. I am Very disappointed with the service I received, for its not even 2 months old refrigerator and it looks like it is old now. In addition, the company didnt offer to send someone to take a look, checking and make sure theres no future problems with my new purchase, and as a courtesy removing the rust free of charge.

The one star is just for the oven, which is still working. I have a microwave and oven combo and the microwave is used occasionally for popcorn or to reheat the food. Soon, it stopped warming up. I called the service, which is one of the worse experiences I ever had, and was fixed.Soon after, the same part got broken. But I ran out of the warranty. I bought the extended warranty and all the problems started. I was told by one of the Whirlpool representatives that before my warranty will become effective, I have to fix my microwave on my own expense. But in the Whirlpool terms and conditions, it stated clearly that they do not cover if the repairs are made by anyone other than a participating service provider or those recommended.I decided to cancel the warranty after paying the first rate but before it become effective. I fixed the microwave on my own expense with a different repair service, since the one that was recommended by Whirlpool charged almost a half of the amount as I paid for the whole unit.Within the month, the some part got broken again. I called Whirlpool to find out if this is a manufacture problem and is listed as recall. However, Whirlpool did not respond.

The ice builds up over two week periods and begins to leak onto the floor, requiring me to empty the freezer, chop out the ice and put everything back. The repair job is in the vicinity of $100. Check the net. This problem is endemic. Since this is a problem created during the manufacturing process, Whirlpool should be fixing this problem free of charge. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product.

Oftentimes when we take out the dark loads there is a white line left. It appears to be detergent that does not go into suspension. We are using HD. Just lately we switch to liquid. Question in our minds is if it does not move the water enough to put the detergent in suspension, how in the world is it even cleaning? I do not see the turnover of the clothes. Where is the quality control with this?

My top loading Whirlpool washer model WTW57ESVW1 failed after just over two years. When I called my service man, he turned it on and immediately told me it was not worth fixing as the transmission was bad and this model was known for this issue. I contacted Whirlpool Corp. and the person on the phone stated she could do nothing for me. I asked for a supervisor and was told she would give me a discount on parts, but I had to find out just what part it would be before she would tell me what percentage of a discount she could give me and the service call was my responsibility. Due to this treatment, I will not buy another Whirlpool nor will I recommend it to any of my friends. I will also post on Facebook my experience with Whirlpool.

We just received our brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer from Home Depot.
We just received our brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer from Home Depot. The delivery person started the washer and started the dryer and promptly departed. My husband immediately put a load of laundry into the washer, and he noticed there was insufficient water levels to adequately wet the clothing. Approximately 3 tablespoons of warm water were added at intervals of approximately one minute each. The water level never rose above 3 inches at the bottom of the tub despite setting the washer on the heavily soiled setting. After the spin cycles he removed the extremely damp clothing and it appeared that the machine had not properly completed the spin cycle and drained an insufficient amount of water from the clothing. He tried another load, and it appeared that the sensors were not working which regulate the water levels because most new machines use far less water. However this washer was defective. He then placed the clothes in the brand new Whirlpool dryer. The clothes ran for over five hours and never dried and the dryer never got hot. There was obviously something wrong with the thermostat. We are both disgusted and will never ever buy a Whirlpool product again. In addition because of the extremely poor response from Home Depot, we will never purchase an appliance from them again either. So sad that Made In America, which was on a sticker on the front of the machines, does it mean diddly squat these days.

For the last month, in order to wash dishes, we have to start the dishwasher normally. The water will begin to fill the tub and then stop and all the display lights go out. We push the cancel/drain button and the dishwasher empties the water in the tub. We again, push the desired wash cycle button just like the first time and the dishes wash normally. We have purchased at least two of this same type dishwasher with the utensil holder in the door from Whirlpool in the past, with great satisfaction.

I asked them several times to replace the item and they refused and just continued to send me replacement parts and refuse to honor their warranty. The water heater had some type of defect, but they still refuse to replace the item and did admit on the phone they have records of several parts that they sent.

11 months after purchasing my Whirlpool 40 Gal Gas Water Heater N40T61-343 I woke to cold water one morning and found the LED flashing 4 times - high temperature shutdown. Unable to find any reset I called Whirlpool and after a couple questions, was sent a replacement control unit. Happily it arrived 2 days later. I was told then that it was because I had residue in the tank. I had no idea how he determined that because none of his questions even touched on that. Anyway, I had hot water.Nearly a year later now to the day and again I have no hot water. This time the pilot burns very weakly when I try to light it and then goes out. After three attempts I get 7 flashes on the LED - Gas Control Valve Failure, part of the same unit I replaced a year ago. Am calling tomorrow since its too late to go through any tech support steps over the phone that Im reading about on this site and seeing on Youtube. Honestly, I didnt replace the last heater because I had nothing better to do than replace parts on this one annually. No, I will not purchase another Whirlpool unit especially after reading all of the similar if not identical issues others are having.

Bought my 5 door refrigerator from Lowes in December 2016. Was delivered in January. Had a dent in the door so another new one was ordered that arrived in late January. From day one the dual ice makers have not made enough ice for our family. I called Lowes to have it checked out thru warranty. The repairman came out and said Its making ice. I cant fix something that is not broke. He suggest I buy a under the counter ice maker. What the heck! I pay over $3000.00 For dual ice makers and still dont have enough ice to supply my family. Cant believe Whirlpool puts out a dual ice maker in a refrigerator and it cant even supply a family of 5. The repairman said a normal family size is 3. I dont know where he came from but to me thats not normal. He was from Tutor Appliance Repair and was very rude until he realized he pissed me off then he blamed it on Whirlpool. The refrigerator is beautiful but Id rather have my old one. It made more ice than this new one does. Will I buy whirlpool again? No I wouldnt. If they cant stand behind their product and what its suppose to do then I dont need it. Bad thing I have to deal with this one for a while until I can purchase a new and better one. If you have this refrigerator dont plan on having guest or family dinners it will not hold up for ice tea. Not to mention after dinner drinks. Model # WRV986FDEM01. SeriAL # K63817128.

I had my washing machine for about 10 days before it stopped working. I did about 4 loads of laundry. We have had 3 repair people come check it out, all referred by Whirlpool. They each had a different theory on why it wasnt working properly. Im now waiting for parts to be delivered and then service to be scheduled. When I contacted customer service, I was told (after waiting on hold for about 1 hour) that it was customer misuse. Ahem, first I heard that, and I think I know how to use a washing machine. I asked to speak with a supervisor. More waiting. Tina (#**) told me she will contact the service company about the parts. I told her to please conference me in on the call because I want to hear the outcome (and I dont want to wait another 1+ hour to reach customer service again). She put me on hold and then disconnected me! Really, all this time and 3 service people... Would be cheaper to just replace the machine altogether. What a headache!

The agitator is higher than any I have seen and when we washed aprons that have plastic buckles on them, they get stuck under the agitator. When complained their solution was to use laundry bags to wash 15 aprons in, they are long aprons. Paying a lot of money for the machine and it being commercial I didnt think we would not be able to use it. The whole machine shut down when three of the buckles got stuck. Plus always mold coming from inside tub and yes we use refresh weekly and wash it out on refresh setting. I’m so tired of our towels smelling sour but can’t afford to buy new washer and dryer living on fixed income. If I could these would be in the recycling yard now. We purchased a Whirlpool 5 top burner gas range in 2008. The oven stopped working. It would click 2-3 times, heat to 100 degrees then stop. Luckily, the range was still in the 1 year warranty. WP sent a tech out who eventually deemed it non-repairable. WP replaced the range. We were sent a letter offering an extended warranty plan May/June 2012. We took advantage considering our troubles with the first range. In October 2012, we noticed the oven started the same problem (2-3 clicks and would not ignite). In addition, the top burner clicks on its own to the point to having to unplug it. Since then, we have not plugged it back in for we feel it’s not safe! We have been working with WP Extended Service Plan (ESP). The obligor is the Federal Warranty Service Corp. for 2 months, ruining our Thanksgiving and now a few weeks till Christmas, our family is still without a range/oven. The ESP claims the damage is from chewed wiring from rodents. We live near fields that have just been cut; mice are coming into our home. However, when the tech came out, finally, he claims there are no chewed wires and the part he has to fix the oven is not worth putting in and will contact the ESP claims department to deem the range/oven non-repairable. This is the second range/oven - its doing the exact same problem as the first but ESP refuses to help us. The last supervisor would not do anything. We requested his ID# and he hung up on us. I contacted WP directly and waiting to if they can help.

When I moved into my current home, this dishwasher(Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1) was already installed. It had never been used until I moved in. After two years of 2-3 times a week use, I have major problems. It will not complete a wash cycle, regardless of what settings I use. It runs long enough for the soap dispenser to release the Finish tablets which dissolve, but then the dishwasher stops running. The dishes are not clean, and neither is the interior of the dishwasher. It also appears to be leaking when it runs. I cannot afford to replace it, so either I will repair it myself or use it to store pots and pans. This is not my first disappointment with a Whirlpool product. A Kenmore refrigerator made by Whirlpool lasted 7 years before the compressor failed. Apparently, the self-cleaning coils werent and caused the compressor to fail. The refrigerator I have where I now live is a Whirlpool over 20 years old and runs perfectly. Apparently Whirlpool quality has deteriorated badly in the last two decades. I will never buy another Whirlpool kitchen appliance because of the dishwasher and new refrigerator experiences. When I searched the Internet for fixes for both appliances, I found many other owners having the same problems I have had.

Ruined entire hardwood floor kitchen cabinets warped so all need replaced. Our insurance company has made a disaster after owning home 10 years. Custom cabinets that match the laundry room as well. I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine from PC Richards in Lake Grove 15 months ago. I paid $590.00. I had to call PC Richards back because it sounded like the machine was not spinning right. The servicemen came back and said nothing was wrong. It was supposed to sound like that. Now the machine stopped draining and spinning. I went to the store and they handed me customer service numbers and said they could not help me. I contacted Whirlpool online and received a phone call from a woman that gave me a lesson on how to load the machine and put soap in it! She was a very polite woman, but, gee, that didn’t solve my problem. After 4 days I was able to get through by phone and was told to call service. I contacted Mahler Appliance. He looked at it and said he couldn’t fix it and took a check for $81.47. He told me to call Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool again and got their service people. The gentleman came and could not figure out what was wrong. He tried a few things and said it was probably the main board. He said to call Whirlpool, but they most likely won’t give me back my money. He could charge me $460.00 for a new board per his supervisor. I just paid $590.00 for the machine and another $87.00 to some guy who took advantage. He left with an $87.00 check and I still have a broken washer. He did tighten up a loose wire he said he found and told me to try it and good luck. So I tried it. I put clothes in and turned it on.I came back about 20 minutes later to see if it continued to run and I slipped and fell on the ceramic floor because water drained out from somewhere and went all over my floor. I have injured my back and elbow from hitting the hard floor. I also have water all over the place and finally a very broken defective washer. I am angry. I hurt myself and have spent close to $1000.00 and I still have no working washer and no way to buy another one. The washer is 15 months old. That’s brand new to me. There was obviously a problem from the beginning. Whirlpool has always had a quality name for years. I would hope that they would stand by their product and fix my washer for me. It is obviously defective.

My microwave stopped working in January. It’s now April and I still do not have a new one. It keeps getting lost or shipped to the wrong address or something. Every time I call, the representatives don’t know how to look it up. I wind up on hold for at least 30 minutes, and I get transferred to at least 3 different people. We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer in October 2010 and it was the worst purchase we have ever made. We had two worthless calls to Whirlpool and all the regular brain-dead suggestions that do not improve function. We have had a technician out to our home and we have the extended warranty. The technician stated that the machine will never function properly and Whirlpool knows this. The low water level prevents washing, rinsing. The problems with the washing machine are many and the required multiple washes and rinses make the claim for low energy usage false advertising. It leaves white streaks on dark clothes constantly and has residue on everything from sheets to silks, no matter the cycle. Theres not enough water which covers the clothes, so clothes do not get clean. The spin cycle is so violent that clothes are damaged. The soak cycle is a joke. Soaking means to sit in water and soak. This machine drains the water so there is no soaking. With this very expensive machine, we can use only one cycle; bulky items on the low spin with a repeat rinse. According to the technician, these complaints are what they respond to all day, everyday. There is no mechanical fix for this design flawed machine. If you are looking at buying this machine, dont! The machine has ruined lots of laundry. Do not waste your money or your time. I would like my money back. The Whirlpool company definitely plays dumb on the customer service calls. Its a non-functional washer as it damages laundry and has false claim for low energy usage.

Our Whirlpool refrigerator has been an extraordinary kitchen appliance, it may even be 28 years old. The ice maker worked until just four years ago and thats amazing. Its never been serviced and never needed a repair. I dont know what one can say about something thats worked so flawlessly. This seems a little bit trivial when considering the cost of a new appliance, but the plastic veneer on the handle had fallen off and needed glued back on, but thats about it as far as maintenance and repairs go. I had whirlpool microwave model # WMH32517AS-2 that came with my new home in March of 2013. In September of 2013, we noticed there were times that the microwave failed to warm the food or liquids (coffee) sometimes at all. Then we figured out that we could hear the noise it makes when it actually warms the food. So after a repair man came out and saw the issue of not warming up, he replaced many parts but within a day we experienced the same issue. Whirlpool had a different repair man come out and replace additional parts hoping it would fix the issue but unfortunately, it did not. Whirlpool said they would send another microwave to us in January of 2014 but now its April 2014 and nothing sent and I have a broken microwave in my house. Due to the length of time it has been, I had to submit this. We have also called customer service on 5 occasions (who have these call documented) and the person that was supposedly helping us and assigned to our case 7 times with no response. We have attempted to talk to a supervisor but were told that I could not, which is unusual. Its just frustrating that this is happening.

We bought a gas hot water heater from Lowes on Dec. 31, 2010. In July 2011, there was no hot water. After much yelling and headaches, Whirlpool agreed to send out a technician to look at it, since I refuse to go in the attic and I will not work on gas appliances. After 7 days with no hot water, they replaced a valve that failed, they said, because our attic was too hot. The old unit never complained. Eight months later out, the unit went again (and we had an attic fan put in). This time, Whirlpool sent out a local plumber (and I paid for the call) though we had a warranty and extended plan with Lowes?! This time I was told no problem it was too windy and it blew out the pilot. Its funny we never noticed the attic being windy even during the hurricanes. Four to 5 months later, well, you guessed it but this time my husband just re-lit it. Then the next time, 5 months later, my brother-in-law did it. That was August to September 2012. See, this morning, there is no hot water. I had to fight with Lowes since we have the 5-year extended plan. I cannot get anyone to explain why it makes sense to them that a 2 1/2 year old hot water heater has to be re-lit every 4-6 months. Then I went online. Now I know why Lowes and Whirlpool are ignoring the issue. So, anyone know a good lawyer or what are they doing to get satisfaction?

Unfortunately where I live the walls are thin. And my neighbors have complained about how loud my washing machine is. I load it correctly and sometimes while it’s washing it rearranges the clothes and it becomes unbalanced and makes incredibly loud thumping sounds when this happens. I’d say 1 out of every 4-5 times. Also I have multiple towels and clothing that have been pulled. The threads of brand new towel sets ruined from the washer.

We bought model # WTW5000DW2 Whirlpool top loader. The sensor for water level continually bangs until the water reaches its required level!! Very annoying! I like that it doesn’t have an agitator but that’s it. I’d rather be able to pick my own water level. It also is a very slow process!! I would not recommend this machine unless it is going into a sound proof room.

We bought a dishwasher, stove and refrigerator last month. Dishwasher and stove work great, however the refrigerator is junk! The freezer part works great, but the refrigerator doesnt cool at all. The first time he was here the repair man said the seal on the door was bad and he glued it. He told us to not open the door for 48 hours then everything would be fine. IT WASNT. A week and a half later he came back. He looked inside, scratched his head and told us, “This model should have the “deluxe” fan and I dont think it does!” Said he would be back in 6 days with the fan and well “see if that fixes it”.I called Whirlpool service waited on hold for an hour before getting cut off. Called back waited 35 more minutes but actually got to speak to someone. The big solution... They offered me a 6 month extended warranty!!! Ive lost an entire refrigerator full of food. Missed two days of work and am going to miss another when he brings the “deluxe” fan. Also been eating out all month and probably spent $100 buying ice. IE... MOST EXPENSIVE REFRIGERATOR EVER!!!

We paid extra for a 10 year warranty on purchase from Airport Appliances. On delivery I commented that the plastic material used throughout the fridge was of very flimsy material and wobbly. In the first week the crisper drawer joint cracked to our amazement and they had to send another one from Whirlpool. In the 14th month after the Whirlpool warranty had expired, we found the pantry drawer lid/cover shattered by the door which shut on it because of no reasonable leeway provided in its design. On calling the special warranty people they said they only covered the compressor and parts and nothing else. Called Whirlpool who quoted $85.00 for the lid, plus S&H and taxes. Now we have an eyesore every time we open the fridge when we see the taped up cracked three foot pantry drawer lid. We badly regret giving away a 25 year old perfectly working Whirlpool Workhorse Fridge and buy this newer model which we will have to live with for a quarter of a century. I am 75 years old now. Never a Whirlpool again!

Top loading HE machine. Washer does not clean. I have tried all manufacture recommendations, changed detergents and tried laundry boosters, all to no avail. Tshirts, pants and socks routinely come out of the wash dirty and must be re-washed. This negates any energy savings. Also, the noise from the spin cycle is very loud - the washer is on the second floor but I was told by sales person that this would not be an issue with top loader. Overall, very disappointed and after all these years, I have finally given up on this washer and will junk it.

I purchased my Whirlpool Double-Oven one year ago and couldnt wait to use my new oven. I was told it was so efficient because I could use the top oven for quick baking instead of heating the entire oven (plus I could set it at different temperature settings). About a month in, I cooked 2 pizzas side by side. The first one burnt to a crisp and the one right beside it was doughy on top and burnt on the bottom. Not thinking, I blamed the pizzas! I also blamed myself, thinking it was me not being used to the stove.A few weeks later, I baked cupcakes. About 15 minutes in, I smelled burning and the cupcakes were raw on top and burnt black on the bottom. I called Whirlpool and they sent a technician out and he replaced the circuit board/clock. Worked for a couple of weeks and then the burning began again. Called Whirlpool again - another technician came out and adjusted the temperature. Here I am again, had to call Whirlpool again. This stove has been so inconsistent and Im so tired of wasting food because of this stove. My 4-year old Whirlpool dryer also went out last week so needless to say, Im not very fond of Whirlpool right now! If you are planning on buying a Whirlpool product, buyer beware and I hope you have a lot of patience...

I bought a full kitchen appliance package 3 years ago, the gas range Clock LED started cutting off the line at the top of the numbers... when the range was about 1 1/2 old... Now 3 years later the range doesnt hold its oven temperature, the cost to fix it is $230 more than what I paid for the range. Whirlpool is unwilling to stand behind their product or provide a replacement part for a reasonable price. So now I will be buying a brand new range and the 3 year old Whirlpool will be taken to the dump. I will never buy a whirlpool appliance again. I thought Whirlpool was a good brand and a reputable company until now. Please beware when buying appliances, whirlpool is not reliable or reputable.

I was able to get the manufacturer to send out a repairman and install a new kit. It worked great for 2 years. Now, here I am again with the pilot light going out daily. We purchased a Whirlpool Duet front load washing machine Model #WFW9550WL in July 2009. In July 2016, the guide on the door hinge broke, making the machine unusable. When performing a national search for the part number (#8183202) to replace the broken hinge, I found that there were none available anywhere in the United States. When talking to Whirlpool, they indicated that during 2015, they only sold 142 of this part, and were currently looking for a new manufacturer for the part. They further indicated that the part would not be available until late September or early October of this year.

I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washer/dryer set 2 1/2 years ago (Jan. 2009). I have 4 kids and do lots of laundry. This is THE WORST appliance, namely washer, I have ever owned! I so wish I had researched this product more. I ditto everything that has been said about this washer. It tore up so many items of clothing, I lost count and does a horrible job of getting stains out. I contacted Whirlpool on several occasions only to be told that they would send a technician out to see if there was something wrong. The technician would report that the washer was working properly and Whirlpool would then tell me, sorry, we cant do anything about it. I asked them if a washer was supposed to clean your clothes and unravel them? Yes, it is supposed to clean them. Well, its not doing that. No, it is not supposed to unravel and destroy them but well, it IS doing that! Therefore, the washer is not working properly. Just because a technician can not physically find something wrong with it, doesnt mean it is a poor functioning washer. This company should better learn very soon that you must stand behind the QUALITY of your products or you will soon be out of business. I will never purchase Whirlpool products ever again nor would I recommend it to anyone!

When I turn the oven on, it does the clicking sound, it starts up then it turns off and sometimes it doesnt even turn on. In 2010, I had my turkey ready for the oven at Thanksgiving. I turned on the oven and nothing. I had to cut the turkey and deep fry it. In 2011, same time on Thanksgiving and now Ive been waiting for 2 weeks for the part. I have 4 kids. I need an oven. I cant take this anymore. Also, out of the blue, sometimes the stove top starts clicking on its own and it scares the hell out of us. I have to unplug the stove. Help.

I bought a Whirlpool fridge in 2014 and started having problems a year late
I bought a Whirlpool fridge in 2014 and started having problems a year later. It was making really loud noises and the fridge part wasnt working. All the food was warm. Of course there is no warranty on it after one year. I called a repairman and he said that the doors dont seal properly so the warm air is getting in causing condensation which freezes the engine/fan which is the cause of the loud noise. The reason why the upper fridge is warm is because the fan pushes the cold air up from the freezer, which of course wasnt working. Then I noticed that the frame at the bottom of the fridge is bending causing the freezer not to seal properly which would be the reason for warm air getting inside the fridge.

Model number wrf990slam00. I purchased this French door refrigerator in September of 2013 (less than two years ago). Our freezer stopped freezing a month ago. Knowing it was out of Warranty we had a non-Whirlpool related repair tech out. He said the compressor was going out, he said to call Whirlpool because this should not be happening on a fridge less than two years old. I called Whirlpool. They offered me a extended Warranty knowing the issue for $320 so I accepted since a compressor with labor is much more than that. Whirlpool arranged for a repair person to come out. The guy hardly looked at my fridge, didnt hook any gauges up and said maybe just see it in a few days it works again... after asking ME for a thermometer to check the temperature! I told him well we had a previous repair person out and he said it was the compressor. He said hed have to have someone else come out because he doesnt know anything about compressors. Um ok why did they send you out then! So the following week I get a call from a different guy with the same company saying my parts were in and they were going to come out and replace them. I said I thought the guy didnt know what was wrong with it. He said oh well its the compressor and evaporator! Ok well I guess comes fix it then. They came out replaced the parts. Within 36 hours the freezer was working again, ok great! Well a week later we had people over and we bought ice cream and put it in the freezer. A few hours later we pull it out and its melting. Called Whirlpool again, they sent a second company out. The guy hooked up his gauges and said it was definitely leaking refrigerant and the fibrotic in the ice maker was broken. He said he couldnt fix it because the company that replaced them is responsible for it, and that in this type of refrigerator the compressors need to be placed a certain way or they leak which he suspected that was the case. Called Whirlpool, they scheduled for the original company to come out. After 2 times of them not showing they finally came a week and a half later. The guy hooked up his gauges said it wasnt leaking and that the other guy didnt know how to read the gauges. He looked around for a bit, took my drawers out then put them back in and broke one of the brackets, then called the tech line and said its probably an internal leak. He said he needed approval from Whirlpool to look any further. A few hours after he left the refrigerator got warm. I called Whirlpool to expedite the claim and they said the company hadnt made a claim yet. Ok great. I have a two-year-old and Im pregnant and we have no refrigerator! Called the next day. Whirlpool said the refrigerator is now too expensive or not repairable and they are going to make me an offer on replacement. Ok great! Well not so much. I call a few days later to see where the heck my offer is and they tell me sorry we will only refund your Warranty What! My fridge is less than two years old and I paid $2100 and it is not repairable and thats all you will do!!!! Im in the process of fighting this but I doubt they will do anything. Just dont ever buy a Whirlpool and if you do buy the Warranty the store offers! Each repair person that came suggested the same thing and said these new Whirlpools are junk and have had many of these refrigerators do the same thing. Whirlpool makes tons and tons of money making these cheap refrigerators but does not care about the customer whatsoever! Whirlpool has lost my business forever and I hope more customers because of this review.

We purchased a Whirlpool unit Mod#WRF535SMBM from Home Depot in Bluffton, SC. Frost and ice build up in bottom freezer of our Whirlpool unit. We have had 4 service calls since our purchase of the unit in Dec 2014 (April, May, June and Sept) with one freezer door replacement due to a faulty door liner and soon to be a second freezer door replacement due to lack of insulation in the door, along with the door slides. Each service call visit is by a different service company. The other issue is the unit is advertised as S/S. This is the first time I have had a magnet stick to S/S so I figure that the outer shell is a mere coating of some sort and not a quality S/S product.

She listened to our issue and was extremely understanding of our frustrations. The representative assured us that we were valued customers and offered to contact our local service provider and authorize the needed repairs to our refrigerator. This interaction has restored our faith in Whirlpool and its partner brands. The representative also provided guidance on future purchases in contacting Whirlpool to purchase its extended warranty.I would suggest using Whirlpools warranty program instead of a retailers program. Contact Whirlpool to purchase any extended warranties directly, instead of purchasing an extended plan at the time of purchase. Thank you to Whirlpool and to our extremely helpful representative. I purchased a new Whirlpool washer and dryer (model number WED9250WR0 #WFW9250WR00). The washer broke after about 2 months. They took my washer and gave me some off brand one, because I purchased a 5 year extended warranty. They kept my washer for over 3 months, saying that the manufacturer takes that long to get the parts in. Its ridiculous! The tub, seal, and some other parts had to be replaced. It was shredding my clothing and my bedding. The first time they fixed it, a couple days later, it started making a horrible noise. The repairman came out, and a part had fallen off inside, so he put it back on. It kept happening, so I called them back, and he taped the part on!About 2 months later, the seal started shredding, and so did my clothing. I called again, and they had to replace the seal again. It still sounds off balance, and they said that was normal, because of the give in the floor. The day they fixed the seal, I washed a childs sleeping bag, and it shredded it too! I called again, and they refused to replace it, and they want to come and look at it again. My dryer lint trap seal also keeps coming apart, and I have gone through 3 of those in less than 8 months. They said they are just made poorly, so it will keep happening. I just want my money back, and buy a different washer and dryer somewhere else. I had an old pair that I bought, used, and they lasted me 5 years with less problems than these that I paid two grand for.

I purchased this refrigerator and have had problems with it from almost the beginning. First, the doors wholl not stay open long enough to remove items. The technician Whirlpool sent out said the cause was an uneven floor. I checked with a level and the floor is almost completely even. So, then it said thats the way it was intended to work. Isnt that what the adjustment wheels on the bottom are supposed to correct? They dont. One individual in Whirlpools customer service department told me that the doors were not a functional part of the fridge and, therefore were not covered by the warranty. What?Next the refrigerator leaked and ruined the ceiling in the floor below. A few weeks after that was fixed (the fridge, not the ceiling), the unit completely shut down and I lost a tremendous amount of food. Bad enough to have to go through this but then to have Whirlpool treat me so the horribly was absurd. Fridge broke on Friday and a service person came out on Wednesday. Tech tells me he has to order the part (control box) and I find out the next day that the part was on back order. I had already been without a fridge for a week when Whirlpool tells me the part was not available until 9/19 (this was on 8/6)! That was not an acceptable solution so I requested a refund or a new fridge. Nope, their job is to repair, not replace. They said they needed 7-10 days to see if they could get the part earlier. What? Then if it couldnt be repaired in a reasonable amount of time they would consider replacing the appliance. They would not define reasonable amount of time.I believe I spoke to about 10 or 12 different whirlpool reps, and was told 4 times that a supervisor would return my call. One person did call back when I was unable to answer the phone and I called her back within 20 minutes. Guess what, she wasnt available and she never responded to my 3 return calls. When I complained that I had spoken to so many different people and was tired of telling the fridge saga to yet another person who would not help me, she volunteered to be my point person. She gave me her direct extension and said she would handle my case. I left 3 or 4 messages for her and she never returned my call. In other words, I was constantly told that I would receive return calls but never did. In summary, no one cared that I had an almost brand new Whirlpool refrigerator that was not working and that the date I could expect a repair was indefinite. In addition to all of that, every time I called they were experiencing a high call volume. Maybe they could hire more staff? When this all started, Home Depot told me I had to go through Whirlpool because it was under their warranty for the first year. Finally I decided to go to the store (after all, I did pay them for the fridge). After 3.5 hours in Home Depot, they agreed to replace the refrigerator. I havent gotten it yet (they did send over a small loaner), I am really hoping this is the end of this fiasco. I want my life back!! !

I purchased Whirlpool Washer WTW4815EW on December 29, 2015 for my tenants apartment and by October 7, 2016 it was not working. I called Whirlpool for service since the product is under warranty. The closest appointment was more than 2 weeks out. On the appointment date the technician called me and said he was on his way to my house which is more than 30 miles from my tenants apartment. The technician said he could not service the tenant area as that was a different group, so we rescheduled for a week later. A week later no one shows up, so I rescheduled yet again for November 3rd and drove myself to wait for the service person who was supposed to be there between 8 am to 12 PM. At 11:40 I saw there was a 10:36 am Whirlpool attempt to call me but no message was left. When I called back they told me the technician called in sick and they called at 7:30 (my iPhone indicated 10:36 am). Now they say someone will come on Saturday November 5th. It will be one month on November 8th with no working washer. While it is bad enough the washer stopped working in less than one year their service support is even worse than the product.

My wife and I purchased our new home in November 2014. The house was a foreclosure and therefore owned by a title company who gutted the home and installed all new appliances. Less than a year of ownership, the ice maker on the side by side fridge broke after normal use. Not having proof of purchase, I appealed to Whirlpool given the nature of my situation. They did NOTHING but try and sell me a new service agreement they offer to have it fixed. They cared little about my brand loyalty, situation or circumstances - all they wanted was to make more money off of the consumer. The store did the best to correct the problem and it seemed the Whirlpool company had no faith in their product as over the phone recommended having extended warranty. So sorry we bought this product, nothing but hassle!!!

1.0 out of 5. This is the absolute worst washer that I have ever owned. Do NOT fall for the top loader hype. The clothes do not get clean. Anything black constantly comes out with a white residue and whites are dingy. Ive tried numerous detergents and used as little as a tablespoon and still get the same results. The company just insists that its too much detergent or that I need to run the clean cycle after every 4-5 loads. The service guy that came out said this is the number 1 complaint with these washers and Ive talked to plenty of friends that experience the same issue. The company would have you think this is the first time they have heard of it.I have spent hours on the phone with whirlpool and Home Depot over the past year and neither accept responsibility or offer any solution other than some free cleaning tablets from Whirlpool and Home Depot offered $200 off the purchase of another washer. This was when the washer was only 6 months old. The only way around this is to rewash the clothes and a second cycle and to wash all loads on bulk load with an extra rinse. Yep. Great water savings there! Save yourself the headache and dont buy a top loader of any brand and I would never buy another appliance of any kind from Whirlpool and Home Depot because of their poor customer service in handling this common issue.

I have a lower end 4 burner model but I love it. Both power burns are in the front (I would change that) and electronic ignition. The oven temp is true and heats up quickly, I bake upwards of 700 cookies at Christmas time. Even being a lower end model it works great and I use it everyday. I think it is more energy efficient than the model that I replaced, which I replaced in order to have the electronic ignition. I would recommend this Whirlpool Range!

Purchased double range ovens. Enamel is flaking off within 2 years. Whirlpool denies defect. They wont replace it. Any other folks with similar problems? What can I do to have it replaced? I remember the old ovens and how the enamel just stayed and stayed and stayed. Never a rust or flaking issue in those old time models. Any expertise on how the enameling process may be compromised in the newer manufacturing process (cutting corners or costs). Any options for a class action here if a commonly experienced occurrence? If similar experience drops comments/review below as a one liner - just state enamel defect. That way can figure out the number of folks with issues. Id like to take action if given the opportunity, and more so if this is a common occurrence. Lawyers are costly for one-off complaints, but there is power in numbers (think United Airlines).

We are having our second major issue with our Whirlpool Refrigerator Model WRF757SDEM but unfortunately at 1-1/2 years old, it is out of warranty. Although the certified repairman says that the issue with the thermostat is a known issue and the company created a whole new part to fix the problem, there is no recall. Customer service was lousy. They deny any know issue (again, they created a new part they will sell us to fix the issue) and they mocked us for not buying their warranty after having the first problems with their fridge. This new problem will cost over $300 to fix. Why is there no recall if they knew about the issue?

I have spent 30 minutes trying to change light bulb under the oven and get the cover plate back on. I watched the film on how to do it, it was amusing to watch the struggle to get it on. It was amusing to say the least. Whirlpool watching it??? I do not believe whoever designed this worthless time consuming light cover never tested it one time, or it would had been more user friendly. It amazes me what kind of trash they can build for us consumers to have to deal with at times. Tomorrow this overhead piece of junk is coming out and being replaced by a non Whirlpool one. I am going to get a tractor and smash it into little pieces and put on side of street with a note saying this is what happens when you try for an hour to change the bulb.

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio washer. It was great for almost year. After that it has been nothing but trouble. The body of the washer has rust coming through the paint and large areas that is so rusted that the paint has chipped off completely. A washer is expected to deal with water and not rust through the body. I have a 10-year old Ford truck without a speck of rust. Dont they undercoat? The circuit board has had to be replaced because of rust. I have to take several Q-tips and go under the cover to remove all the rust if I dont it gets rust stains on my clothes, which is impossible to remove. The customer service is non existent. They have left me on the line for over 40 minutes. I hang on only because it would be another hour or so of my time to get someone to answer. I was without a washer for a month while waiting for parts. Why dont they have parts for their products? I had to slop my way too dirty laundry mats 3 times a week as I do 2 to 3 loads a day.My washer is downstairs and stops and gives me the unbalanced message even when its not, running up and down the stairs several times to complete one load. I also get the F51 message for no perceivable reason. The extra rinse button only works 1/2 the time. This was an expensive washer ($1,000.00) and I feel that I deserve my money back. They are knowingly making an inferior product.

Bought the model before this just over 2 years. Conveniently it broke just after the warranty expired. I chose not to buy a extended warranty as my last fridge from KitchenAid is over 20 years old and never had a single problem with and still operates like NEW. I can’t say that for my Whirlpool which was very expensive. It has been with an issue within the ice maker for over 8 months. Every computer board has been replaced twice with no fix. Then tried to replace the cooling fan within the ice maker unit seven times. Whirlpool could not find the right part, as the wiring had changed mid model and have no record of when it was changed and what models affected.Certified Whirlpool technician was great and so apologetic. I had taken 7 Mondays off to meet him to only have the wrong part time and time again. Whirlpool support tech line basically said he was wrong, yet I witnessed all visits and my 3 plug fan unit did not match Whirlpools newer part that was 2 plugs. I was not happy missing so much work because Whirlpool is incompetent. Finally my tech ordered a whole new ice maker, including the cooling fan. Lo and behold, Eighth time, parts did not match. He again called Whirlpool tech support and reordered another set one final time. Another Monday to find that this time the parts did fit, but cooling fan still did not work. He called Whirlpool tech support again. They started to trace wires one by one.Whirlpool tech support said it was a bad or broken wire somewhere in the cavity of the fridge buried in insulation and was not replaceable. In other words I have a $3000+ refrigerator that is useless. Whirlpool said they would replace the unit. But when I called, they said since I didnt have an extended warranty, they would prorate it and it’s going to cost me over $1000 of my money to to replace due to a manufacturer wiring defect after only 2 years. What the Heck, I was willing to pay to fix it, but Whirlpool can’t fix it. Don’t buy a Whirlpool product as they are Junk and do not stand behind their BRAND!!! No matter who I talked to, they kept falling back to their word track of it’s my fault I didn’t get an expensive extended warranty, yet they can’t fix a wire they installed incorrectly.Wires don’t just break after 2 years. You get longer warranties for cars for the Love of God. I asked them to just send me the money they were willing to put towards a new Whirlpool fridge, so I could buy a Real Brand that stands behind their products like KitchenAid. Of course the answer was NO. Buyer Beware, don’t buy a Whirlpool anything. Did I mention my Whirlpool certified technician was having a Whirlpool dishwasher issue that Whirlpool can’t fix and that’s his profession. Same type of response. Don’t Buy Whirlpool Products, they are Junk and you will get No support from Whirlpool!!!

I agree with the person who said they would rate it no stars, because this washing machine model (Whirlpool Cabrio Model No. WTW8500DC4) does not deserve one. It truly does need to go back to the engineering department. This washing machine is a replacement for another Cabrio! Short story on the first one: Installed on February 2, 2017. October 5, 2017, machine would not go. Then began a series of waiting for repair people, parts, etc. I think it was a total of four trips -- the first one to inspect, three to install parts, the last one being where the repairman took the machine totally apart in the laundry room and was here for several hours. Still would not work. On November 29, 2017 (almost two months later!), Whirlpool had one delivered by JB Hunt. Well, that wasnt so short. This complaint is on the replacement machine. Installed on November 29, 2017. On February 3, 2017, washer said it was done. Well, it wasnt! Clothes were sopping wet, had not been spun, and the fabric softener had not released meaning, I guess, that they had not been through the rinse cycle. It gets better! Tried to start it on a short wash, meaning not very dirty as that is the only way to shorten the cycle. The timer showed 40-something minutes, then went to 1:36 minutes, then to 1:42. Turned it off, unplugged, let sit 15-20 minutes. Plugged in, started it back up. It went crazy! Water was pouring in the machine, then I heard a noise, looked to see what it was -- it was water coming out the bottom of the machine. Husband turned off the water spigots, didnt stop the water. I unplugged the thing from the wall; water did stop.Water was in the laundry room, the pantry, the kitchen! Thankfully I was standing there to see what it was doing or it could have been really bad. This time I took photos and video of this thing. Technician is coming Wednesday. Well see, wont we? Do not want another Cabrio, but what do you do if, like most people with new washer/dryers, you want a matched set?

Ill never buy Whirlpool appliances again. I purchased all new kitchen appliances less than 3 years ago. The range had electrical issues within the first year, which was extremely scary. Thankfully because of the warranty they took it back, reimbursed me for it and I replaced it with a GE. I absolutely love the GE. The dish in the microwave never stays on its track in the center. Its quite an inconvenience to fix it almost daily. The top rack in the dishwasher constantly breaks, drops down on one side. Random parts from inside the dishwasher constantly come loose and fall off. But the worst of all....my refrigerator has broken down twice in 6 months from the same issue due to no fault of my own. To give some credit, Whirlpool fixed it out of warranty the first time. However the same issue happened 6 months later and they are expecting me to pay for it. The repair company contracted with Whirlpool covers their parts under warranty, however different parts need to be ordered. I had to pay for these parts, a service call and labor. Whirlpool came out with a service pointer on this because they know its a manufacturing defect but are refusing to cover the cost. The representative I spoke to was nasty and inconsiderate but sadly the manager was even worse. DONT buy Whirlpool!!! I recommend GE, youll be much happier. Worst customer service and support.

Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer from Home Depot. It started making noises on the spin cycle 2 months after the purchase. A technician came out and concluded it was a clothes hanger behind the machine making the noise. False. Two days later I tried to wash a load. All the panel lights came on. And then the machine died. No power. The tech came out and tried to run tests but the machine would not respond correctly. Informed it has a bad control. The machine will malfunction even if a button is pressed too long. And then its repairman time again. This machine is poorly designed. No doubt whoever designed the digital control panel did not think about ease of use. The tech has to recalibrate the controls after every failure. Whirlpool and Maytag have put out a bad product and this will be my last.

It seems it may cost more than previous one.I heard that these service engineers are taking the previous my board / replaced board. They are repairing it and sold it again and again so the quality of the board is question mark. As a customer I / we cannot spend money and change board every year. I just want everyone to think twice before you go to Whirlpool Washing Machine & its products. I had a same kind of poor quality issue with even water purifier too. Consequences - I have spent Rs. 10000 already, it is loss for me beside the buying cost of the products.

I bought my first Cabrio set in 2008 to replace Maytags that lasted forever but looked their age on the outside. No problem with cleaning and drying, just wanted something new. What a mistake! I looked in Consumer Report Guide to pick and found the Cabrio set. Had problems after the first 4 months - UL uneven load codes flashing up, and had to replace suspensions and bearings, boards, etc. Unfortunately within that 4 months I bought another Cabrio set to put in my vacation home. Started with the same issues and really hard to get a service technician to come out because of where we were located. Customer service with Whirlpool sucks as well as Sears service. It is AMAZING to me that Whirlpool will NOT stand behind this product. I am writing this as I see an F1 code flashing on my washer here at my second home. I have a load of towels in it and house guests arriving in the morning! I will be trashing this washer and dryer and finding something old school and reliable. I want no bells and whistles, just clean and dry clothes. Whirlpool, you should be ashamed.

I feel that a washer should last longer than 1 year and 4 months. I signed up for the Whirlpool Repair Plus 1 Service Plan which is supposed to cover repair plus 1 year additional warranty. We purchased our Whirlpool Water Heater about 2 years ago. Three weeks after we bought it, it stopped working; the pilot light would not light. They sent a tech out to replace the thermostat and the thermocouple. Now, it has stopped working again. My husband and I have spent nearly 20 hours on the phone with the WP customer service girls and replaced nearly every part but the tank it self. We have not had hot water for over a week and are at wits end! My husband finally got them to authorize us to get a new water heater from Lowes after they told him there was nothing else they could do to help us. Ive read pages and pages of complaints from other people having this same problem. Why do they put you through all the torture if they know its not going to work? Its very frustrating! We are almost to a point of ripping out all the gas lines and going electric! Will the new one we picked up today have the same problems? Only time will tell!

Purchased a matching set, Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washing Machine and Dryer in November of 2012. After just over 2 years, Im stuck replacing the Washing Machine at my expense! The washing machine began leaking water out of the bottom of the unit and became extremely loud when operating it. The repair technician said it was a seal and bearing that needed replaced and the cost of repairing the unit would be cost prohibitive versus replacing the unit all together ($800+)! Originally paid over 2K to purchase these units and have them installed. I do not want to trust or rely on the Whirlpool brand again. I would appreciate any recommendation for a better quality, high capacity, HE washing machine brand to replace the Whirlpool unit with (Samsung, GE, LG)??

We bought a new Whirlpool refrigerator about three years ago. Because of space, we had to purchase one with a top freezer and also with no ice maker. First of all we didnt realize it was much deeper than our old Kenmore so it stuck out further into the kitchen space. That was not that big of an issue. At first everything ran great including the top freezer compartment, or so we thought. Then we noticed that when we had ice cream in the freezer and put water in ice cube trays to freeze, the ice cream would get very very soft. This continued to the point that now anytime I put water in there to freeze ice cubes I have to turn up the temperature to keep the ice cream frozen. Once the ice cubes are froze, there is no problem, but they take at least six hours to freeze. Then one day when a young child slammed the refrigerator door closed, the freezer door popped open about an eighth of an inch and then closed again. So, I tried it. Anytime you close the refrigerator door a little too hard the freezer door pops open. I then tried the dollar bill test to check the strength of the seal. The bill pulled right out of the door with very little effort. So, is the problem bad seals, bad design, or bad quality control, or what. How can I be assured that the frozen foods in the freezer are being frozen as solid as they should be. I know they dont freeze solid enough in the freezer door. I will eventually dump this refrigerator and go get another Frigidaire. If we have to get one with a bottom freezer, we will just have to rearrange our kitchen to accommodate it. But, having to turn the temp up and down every day is ridiculous. I have had issues with food close to the walls in all refrigerators slightly freeze, but never had an issue with keeping things cold enough. I will never buy another Whirlpool refrigerator, stove, or anything else for that matter. I have always had good luck with Frigidaire, so I will stick with what I know works.
