Whirlpool Cabrio - Clothes come out of the washer wrinkled, twisted and soa
Whirlpool Cabrio - Clothes come out of the washer wrinkled, twisted and soap stained. I use the exact soap products they recommend in the proper amounts. Bought them in September of 2014. Wish I could return them. Too low of a water level that cannot be adjusted. Not fully rinsing the soap out of the clothes. Washing takes twice as long as with my former 25 year old washer. Dryer is new technology and energy efficient yet wont remove wrinkles from permanent press clothes.Uses hardly any water so clothes must be rinsed at least one or two times to get the soap spots off. Clothes always come out extremely wrinkled. Not all items can be put in the dryer so ironing is back in my life again. Some items come out so twisted and wrinkled that ironing wont even help. Dryer isnt much better at all and shirts and pants always have some wrinkles. Have had to bring some items to the dry cleaners to bring them back to a non wrinkled state. Whatever is saved in water and energy is more than made up by ironing and dry cleaning. The company representatives have sent service people out twice and they both said that the machines are performing as they were intended to. I do smaller washes and wash more often to try to get better results. I dont. Even though it is extra large capacity items such as blankets must be washed more than once as the water does not wet the entire blanket.

Purchased Whirlpool free standing smooth top range at Sears Outlet (scratch & dent) in Columbus, OH on December 8, 2012 for a rental property. On May 18, 2014, tenant said she turned the oven on to preheat and turned on one of the front burners. She said she was at the sink preparing food and heard a loud noise; turned around and there were flames coming from the top of the stove. This didnt sound logical so I called fire department and spoke with one of the firemen. He said there was no evidence of anything in the oven or on top of the stove. Tenant said only thing she noticed is that there was a clicking noise coming from the stove a few days prior. After reading all of these complaints, I dont think I will buy another smooth top Whirlpool electric range. Luckily no one was hurt.

We purchased this dishwasher (Gold Dishwasher WDF60SADB) because of its low 49-decibel rating. It goes over 60 decibels regularly and occasionally up to 70 during operation (not including drain noises which cannot be controlled by the dishwasher). We used a tablet app to confirm. Decibels are not linear, they are exponential. 70 decibels is what your average shower or dishwasher sounds like. 50 is about as quiet as a refrigerator. You have to talk over this dishwasher. And yes there was a big price difference between it and Whirlpools next loudest rated washer.Whirlpools customer service says they will not replace or repair based on sound ever, only for functional failure. Bottom line, dont pay any attention to Whirlpool sound ratings. They dont stand by them and do not consider gross overages a defect. Fortunately the retailer (Lowes) does stand by what they sell and will trade for any other machine by any other manufacturer. We have only good things to say about Lowes in this process. This machine arrived Wednesday, and we pick a replacement Sunday. It will not be a Whirlpool. I will never buy a Whirlpool anything again. We said it will do X but we dont care if a brand new one wont is no way to do business.

After reading all of these reviews, Im not surprised at the negative comments. My husband and I owned a Whirlpool washer and dryer for 25 years prior to them both dying the same summer four years ago. I absolutely would not purchase anything but another set of Whirlpool washer and dryer because of the longevity of our previous set.We bought the Cabrio set 4 years ago this summer. After two years, we discovered it had a slow leak at the back hot water valve and underneath it somewhere when it spun and it had slowly leaked under the wall into our living room which eventually caused our hardwood floors to buckle. We had to replace the flooring in that section at a cost I will not even say and had a repairman come out and fix the lid lock, leak where for some reason there wasnt a washer in the valve area, underneath and the problem with the spin cycle. This was at a cost of around $200.00. Of course our one year warranty had run out. The next year it did the SAME THING AGAIN!!! Although we caught it quicker, we STILL had to replace a small section of hardwood flooring and have the machine repaired yet again at the tune of approximately $200.00. Now, as I type, our machine has yet again flooded our laundry room one year later and I will have to call a repairman in the morning yet again! Its becoming an annual and costly thing!!!I came across this site while looking to see if by chance this machine had been recalled and we would be able to get another one at no cost since we have already paid a fortune for the errors it has caused. I will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau and writing YET ANOTHER letter to the Whirlpool company with the hopes that they will recall this machine!! If enough people protest and report this shoddy workmanship, maybe they will!!!

I had an electric 36 Whirlpool, smooth top cook top for 18 yrs. Worked great, cleaned with Windex and occasional scraper. Didnt show streaks or spots. I remodeled my kitchen 10/15 and bought a KitchenAid 36 glass smooth top vented cook top. What a piece of junk. Wish I had kept my Whirlpool. I can not get it cleaned. Every little fingerprint, mark, etc. shows. I thought KitchenAid was an upgrade to whirlpool but I was surely wrong. I am glad that I didnt change my built-in double oven. I did change out the Whirlpool quiet gold dishwasher for the KitchenAid. Again, wish I kept my Whirlpool. The KitchenAid is noisier, looks terrible with the stainless inside. Im embarrassed to open it with all the water stains. My Whirlpool was white inside and looked like new. I wish I had the money to change it back but I dont unfortunately. Moral of the story is if it aint broken dont fix it!

On 7/20/09 the same problem occurred. The washer may have been used 5 times during the year. The handle and rim also needed to be replaced. On 8/31/09 the switch and handle were replaced again. I agree with all the other reviews listed here! How in the world is a washer to get clothes clean when there is no agitation? Or enough water to even cover the clothes? This is a complete waste of time, one cycle can take an hour or more, because the extra rinse cycle is necessary. And it takes 20 minutes to just sense the load. What a crock. And yes my clothes smell also. Please any recourse besides buying a new washer? Does Whirlpool stand by the product?

In November 2012 we purchased a Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator, model WRF990SLAM from Lowes. This model has the ice maker in the door. We also purchased an extended warranty. In July of 2013, we contacted Lowes service because the refrigerator had ice inside it, top left, where the ice maker equipment is located. Also, under the ice bin, there was a solid block of ice. Water was dripping onto our food inside the refrigerator. August 6, a 3rd party repair company came and replaced parts. One week later, the same issue was happening. We called for service again. It took until 9/9 for them to come out again, and replace the same parts. Approximately 2 weeks later, SAME problem. This time, I called Whirlpool directly. I was told that they (Whirlpool) are aware of the problem with this model, and they should have new parts in by the end of the month that will fix that problem. They even have a special team for this! I asked for their direct number (866-461-2287). On 10/7 I phoned again asking for a status update. I was told that they were just waiting for approval to call consumers to set appointments, and I should hear from them by the end of the week. I also informed them that I was no longer able to use the ice maker or water dispenser because it was now leaking substantially into the refrigerator. They made a note of it. As of today, 10/13, I have not had a call back. This refrigerator cost us nearly 2500.00 and has a known defect! Tomorrow, Monday 10/14, I will begin to demand a new refrigerator (different model!) via Lowes AND Whirlpool. Too bad Whirlpool. Were now going to buy a new gas range...and I can guarantee you it will NOT be a Whirlpool!

I just bought a Whirlpool Duet Front Loader, and it vibrates excessively and wont fully rinse out all of the detergent. I have to take the tray out each time and rinse. Also, it has a musty smell.Whirlpool sent a repairman out to replace the shocks on a washer that is less than 2 months old. The repairman told me to use less detergent, but I am only using a teaspoon of powder detergent which is recommended and using Affresh once a month. There is nothing they can do about it till it is deemed unrepairable.

Like the other reviewers...this machine leaves white deodorant on dark shirts, sheet sets either constantly off balance or parts of them still dry after wash cycle is finished! My husband AND I purchased our Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer from Lowes
My husband AND I purchased our Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer from Lowes in 2011 (Model # WTW7800XW2). About 10 months after I purchased this I noticed a hairline crack on the right side of the frame that holds the glass top near the hinge. I didnt think to much of this. I figured it may have been screwed to tight when manufactured. A few days ago I noticed the lid wasnt sitting flat and saw the crack had gotten much worse. The Cabrio lid is made with a heavy piece of glass inside a plastic frame allowing you to see through the top. Its pretty obvious that the plastic frame is not durable enough to hold the heavy piece of glass.I called Lowes and they told me that because I didnt purchase their extended warranty that I should contact Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool and was told it was a cosmetic defect because the washer still works. They also told me my washer is outside of its warranty so they would schedule someone to fix it but I was 100% responsible for the repair costs (which I found out will be $400). Out of curiosity I googled this issue online and found numerous people complaining about this exact same issue. When I told this to the customer service agent at Whirlpool, she said there werent enough people to recall the product. Why should I spend $400 when it was a design flaw that caused this problem? I found out the year after my washer was made, the lid was redesigned with a much sturdier frame, Coincidence? I think not!I havent had any problems thus far with the dryer but with the experience Ive had with this washer will make me never by another Whirlpool product again. I cant believe they wont stand by their product! Obviously they know this has been a major complaint on this model from 2011 because it was changed the following year. I have purchased many Whirlpool appliances over the years but dealing with this issues has been frustrating. Im so disappointed in Whirlpool and their lack of integrity!

I bought a Whirlpool CABRIO washing machine. I was assured it would do large & bulky. I didnt realize that being so called energy efficient meant that it didnt put enough water in to get my clothes saturated! On large loads or bulky items when I put in my laundry detergent only to find out I had to try to wash them again. Parts of the clothes would still be unwashed & dry after going through a whole cycle! After washing the clothes that did get clean comes out looking like I took them to a stream and washed them on rocks. After taking care of my clothes so they didnt look as old as they were, they are now faded & old looking. I hate this washing machine!

I bought a 50-gal. Whirlpool electric hot water heater about 6 years ago from Lowes. About every two years, something goes bad. So far, I had to replace electronic control board that sits on top of heater twice. Then the heating element went bad. Well, this time, the electronic control board started to smoke and melt. I was home so I smelled something melting and found it. What would have happened if I was not at home? I have dogs that are like my kids; they could have been killed. Whirlpool wants to send the replacement parts knowing this part is no good. Do not buy a Whirlpool electric water heater! Now, Im scared the next time I wont be at home to find the thing smoking. From the very beginning the washing machine did not clean the load. It doesnt even get the load completely wet. The best you can hope for is to utilize lots of fabric softeners to at the least make your clothes smell clean because they surely wont be. Dont even get me started on the load lock feature because it serves no purpose other than to drive you batty. We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer in May and it was the worst purchase we have ever made. We have had a technician out to our home three times. Whirlpool said that the next time the technician comes out to your house, you will have to pay for it and we have the extended warranty! The problems with the washing machine are many. 1. Leaves white streaks on dark clothes. 2. Not enough water covers the clothes, so clothes do not get clean. 3. The spin cycle is so violent that clothes are damaged. 4. The soak cycle is a joke. Soaking means to sit in water and soak. This machine drains the water so there is no soaking.5. With this very expensive machine, we can use only one cycle; bulky items on the low spin with a repeat rinse. The dryer is equally terrible. As I write this, I have two pairs of jeans going through the dryer for the third time. According to the technician, a heat sensor determines whether the clothes are dry. We have not had one load of laundry, big or small, that has dried in one cycle. But the technician said that this is how this machine works. We have tried all the cycles. According to Customer Service, the technicians found nothing wrong with the machines hence, we will have to pay for the next repair call. If you are looking at this machine and dryer, dont! Do not waste your money or your time. Washing laundry is a nightmare because the machines do not do what they are supposed to do --wash and dry the clothes.

I join the many who have posted about the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer cracked lid issue. Our Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7800XW2 glass-lid washer suffered the same (inevitable) fate – cracked plastic on the lid at the hinge stress points, after the washer was beyond warranty. Same story - runaround/no help from Whirlpool. Finally bit the bullet and shelled out the $200 for a new lid. HOWEVER, I didnt want to just replace it and have the same issue down the road. I removed the spring-loaded units that support the hinges, hoping to just remove the springs to release the pressure. I found that the springs are integral to holding all the components together in this unit. These are extremely heavy-duty extension springs, so I took them to my hardware store (TrueValue) and found springs the exact same length, but with a smaller wire diameter and thus requiring less force to extend. I replaced the original springs with these (Century Spring Corp. - #C-143 - 9/16”x3”x.054”). The lid operates perfectly, and now there is very little resistance at the hinge stress point. The only difference is there is no longer a “damping” effect when lowering the lid - it must be lowered manually rather than being allowed to fall on its own. That’s a small correction in habit, but will ensure that the replacement lid lasts for the life of the washer.

We have had this one 4 years and it is not working at all. Wont start and keep a cycle on. Spent $500 on it and its a piece of crap. I purchased this microwave in September 2010. It was installed in a vacation home, so it has actually been used for less than one year. It has now stopped heating food for the fourth time. The previous problems miraculously fixed themselves after flipping the fuse for a few minutes. I guess I should have been suspicious at that point, but I figured maybe I had overheated something. But this time, the problem has not corrected itself. The Whirlpool representative that I spoke to, while very polite and personable, only scheduled a service call that will cost me $89.95 PLUS parts and labor. I asked her if other people had reported this same problem, since it had happened to me several times. She told me NO. I decided to do some research myself (yes, I know; I should have done this BEFORE I spent $578 on a worthless product) and found that many others have had the same problem, and that this is obviously a defect in the design of this unit. Unfortunately, I purchased the entire Whirlpool package because of a special rebate available at the time. Now, I am wondering if my other appliances will begin to break down in the near future. After reading about the experiences of others, I am calling to cancel the service visit. I will be removing the microwave from my kitchen and purchasing a new one. Whirlpool has lost a customer. I will NEVER purchase a Whirlpool product again.

We have owned the Whirlpool Quiet Partner II for about 2.5 years. We purchased this from our local Lowes store (on sale). For the first few months, everything was fine. Then, the dishwasher stopped completing a full cycle and left the dishes somewhat dirty. I found online that I could reset the controls by pressing heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal quickly. When the cycle starts, I press cancel and then set the cycle I want and it will do it correctly. I do this every time I wash the dishes since I dont know when it will decide to stop working (wasting water and soap to redo). Now, the dishes are not drying and water collects on the ceiling of the tub. I saw this after a smell was coming from the tub (like mold) and when I looked up at the top of the tub, I saw water droplets hanging there and mold forming around the sprayer and back of tub. I have to wipe the ceiling dry now or just run vinegar through it often. I cant see paying someone to come out since service calls start around $70 just to come to my home. I did look at reviews for the dishwasher before buying but I wished that I had seen this site first. I would not ever recommend this dishwasher to anyone!

I recently purchased a Whirlpool Slide in Oven replacing my Amana stove of 15 years. My Amana was a very basic model, and I thought this WP was an upgrade. But it is so poorly made its ridiculous. First of all the bottom storage drawer, is so flimsy, it does not slide out easily, and the top lip doesnt even have a finished edge. Additionally there is a 1 inch gap between the top of the drawer and the bottom of the stove door. But the BIGGEST disappointment was the oven racks, totally flimsy. We used a Lodge Dutch Oven (which we have used many times with our old stove) and the oven rack sagged under the weight. Had I known I would have pulled the racks from my old stove. I contacted that seller about these issues, and they said they are ALL like that even the higher end ones, and I contacted Whirlpool to see if I could buy better quality racks and they said no, this is all they have.

The charge is more than what I paid for the microwave. Please avoid Whirlpool at all costs!

All of these awful reviews and you continue to sell the Made in China JUNK!
All of these awful reviews and you continue to sell the Made in China JUNK!!! And shame on the stores that advertise and sell Whirlpool JUNK!! They should put a warning on these machines stating Will not last, gets off balance and does not clean your clothes. Yes we bought the Cabrio like the others, our clothes would not get clean, because like sheets, would end up looking like a doughnut without a hole and all of the dirty water would drain through the middle and make a spot. Then you have to wash them over and over. But that is not the worse part! It only lasted 13 months, YES I said 13 months just past the warranty LOL!!When the man came to make repairs, it was the gear box and was going to cost almost $600. Almost as much as we paid for the machine. He recommended getting a Speed Queen, we did and I LOVE it!! I think it is the BEST MACHINE I have ever had. They are a little hard to find though, but I found where they were sold on the internet and the dealer had to order it. Well worth the time and trouble, (trouble) which I dont expect to have with this machine. Like I said it is a wonderful beast. And I will never buy another product made by Whirlpool. Before my husband retired he made prototypes for autos so he knows about testing and Whirlpool had to know this product had bad flaws before they put it on the market, I call that fraud. Bad taste in my wallet, Michigan.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer on 11/07/10. I brought it home, hooked it up, turned it on and water came pouring out the bottom. I should have known better then, but I took it back and got another one, same model. I dont even have it 2 years and its locked up. I had a repairman here and was told it needed a new water pump ($200 plus). There are 3 adults in my home so its not like I use it hard. I am really disgusted. This is the 3rd washer I bought from Whirlpool in less than 10 years. I went on the Whirlpool site and voiced my disappointment and my problems with their washers. I was told they take pride in their products and I should have a nice day. Yeah, right, they dont have to drag clothes up and down the stairs and then to a laundromat when theyre in their 50s with a bad knee and back. Yes, I will have a nice day when I get that piece of junk out of my house. I will never buy anything made by Whirlpool again.

I purchased this Whirlpool Gold Series Refrigerator WRF990SLAMCO in 2012 and it cost me $2400.00 from Lowes. Worst purchase I ever made!!! I will never again purchase or recommend a Whirlpool product. I paid for extended service agreement from Lowes. Before the first year was over, ice was forming on the inside roof of the refrigerator and the whole cooling system/grid needed to be replaced. Then the cooling system went out, followed by the ice maker (PS the ice bucket container was rusted within the first year), then the whole electrical panel on the front of the refrigerator where the ice/water dispenser is.For the last three weeks I have had water leaking out of the top of the refrigerator adjacent to the water filter. My home warranty wont cover. It is a $400.00 repair to replace the circuit that attaches from the water filter. I called Whirlpool 2/14/2017 to complain about the product. She tells me that there havent been any complaints logged about the refrigerator. Seriously??? Read your reviews! The gal on the phone offered a discount to purchase a NEW PRODUCT! Are you serious??? Take my advice. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL. They do not care about their customers or creating a well made USA product. Ill buy foreign next time!

A couple of years ago I replaced my Whirlpool gas range because after seven years, the house was growing a gas smell that was becoming stronger. I called the gas company and they determined that it was the oven and not their problem. I called an appliance person who could not find the leak but charged me for the service call. Before I had him leave though, I called the gas company back and had the two talk. There was a conflict with their assessments. The service guy left frustrated. The gas company guy came back and again checked and told me that the oven is definitely leaking. He told me they use instruments, not soap, to determine leaks. With this, I was mad at the appliance company. After voicing my frustration, they were going to allow me to purchase a similar new Whirlpool freestanding gas range at a discount and deliver it for free. I relented and spent close to $600 for the new range. After installation, I realized that the quality was cheaper than my old one. The metal rods in the oven racks are thinner and less of them so they are further apart. The cooktop grates are already wearing and chipping. But the thing that has irked me the most is the burners. You cant adjust them to low for a long simmer because the flame goes out, not immediately, but when youre not around to watch it; and the whole house smells of gas fumes! I called the appliance store and they said that because I didnt buy an extended warranty and that a year has already passed, I would have to pay for the service charge. I called Whirlpool and they said that they have not encountered this problem with their stoves yet. Even while on the phone, I could turn every burner on separately and the flame would go out in a circular motion as I turned the knob to low. The only suggestion they had was to call my appliance company and have them look at it. I got nowhere and I was quite frustrated! These Whirlpool stoves should be recalled! Gas leaks are dangerous! I will never buy a Whirlpool again!

I purchased a Whirlpool microwave oven from American Furniture/TV in Fenton, Missouri on 11-13-2010. It had a Whirlpool 1 year warranty and a Performance Guarantee for five years. I noticed recently that the plastic on the door had hairline cracks near the handle and now is beginning to crack around the glass on the front door. I called American when I noticed the cracks by the handle and was told that it was cosmetic and not covered. Now the cracks around the glass may be a bigger problem if they let fumes out from the microwave. I am waiting for a second answer from American. I feel like the problem is with the plastic itself.

We purchased a Whirlpool gas range for $600 in Aug 2015.. On May 2015 the range had an internal board failure (F2E0) and the panel does not control the oven or other features. We found out the part ranged from $350-$400!! Plus service installation! At some point, Whirlpool should accept the fact that they should not sell this machine. Word of mouth spreads fast! Im hoping it will make a big dent in sales because I know then they will listen and act! I purchased it in 2006 for $800, thinking this Cabrio 6400SW is a dream, I can get more done in less time (at that time, there were seven in our family). However, problems within the first year, F1, but I was happy and still under warranty! It was fixed, only to start the problem again. This time, not under warranty! I really wish I had said yes to the extended warranty! Even the repair guy Whirlpool sent suggested it may be a good thing to get the extended warranty if I were you! I think he was trying to tell me something! My naive thought was, why spend more money we did not have? After all, it is a new machine! I did not comprehend that any company could sell and continue to sell something that was clearly a defective machine! Nor did I entertain the thought that a company would not stand behind their product! It is now 2012, I still have the machine because we have dealt with it and have/had no extra money to throw out at it. I have dealt with F1 for several years and did not contact Whirlpool, mostly out of lack of time to research what the deal was and if others were experiencing the same. In November 2011, after reading many complaints and frustrations on the internet and what results they got, I called Whirlpool. Using a level head, sugar sweet persona and a mindset of disbelief that Whirlpool would allow such problems, the customer service girl did her best with what she was told to reply with (meaning, there is nothing she can do). It is then that you ask to speak with a manager or director. I won in getting a repair guy out to fix the F1. They made it sound like they were doing me a onetime favor. The machine board was replaced, the repair person also thought there was an obstruction in the hose and he could fix it, but it would cost us money and suggested we try our hand at it first. We did find an obstruction and for one week, the machine was quietly working beautifully! Whirlpool even called to see about how it was working and my husband had answered that everything works well, not knowing that Ld is our new problem. Ld had started to pop up at the end of that week.So here it is July and Im so frustrated trying to get wash done. Im thinking of all the wasted time, all the wasted electricity and energy Ive spent trying to get this machine to work! My kids are trained to hit stop/pause if they hear it beeping. Some days we cant even get the clothes to spin dry. I try different cycles to get the machine to start and often have to cancel the cycle and change it to another cycle to get the machine to continue. Is there a smell? Yes, and I run the clean washer cycle twice in a row just about every other week now. That doesnt even seem to clean the washer anymore! Tangled clothes sometimes. Ld always, uL sometimes and a sound like it is trying to do something but is stuck. Lots of laundry to do! No money to fix it! Whirlpool needs to stop selling an inferior machine! I know one thing. Never Whirlpool again and I tell everyone not to go with Whirlpool Cabrio. Even one of my co-workers had one and bought a new washer (not Whirlpool) because of problems with her Cabrio only after three years! Do not purchase a Cabrio!

This has gone on for almost six months now. Ive had two service companies do 7 service calls to fix the problem and today, the 8th service call was supposed to happen and the guy never showed up. The company has lied to me telling me that it will just be one more service call each and every time.I want my refrigerator exchanged for a new one. They are refusing to do so until each service call is completed. I think they sold me a lemon based on the fact that nobody seems to be able to fix the issue. I cant seem to get anywhere with Whirlpool at this point and dont feel that I should have to keep a product that never worked from the start. Help! Is there some kind of lemon law on appliances?

Ive had my Whirlpool water heater for almost 4 years now and for the last year and a half, I had to have the pilot light lit at least 5 times. I finally got so frustrated around the 3 times and called the company. They gave me instructions on how to light it and to ensure no draft was around the tank. A couple of weeks ago, it went out again and I called. This time I was told to replace the thermocouple. I did that and guess what? Still no hot water. Im a single parent with 2 kids and weve been boiling water just to bath.A service tech came out and told me I need to replace the tank altogether. I called Whirlpool service and they told me it was nothing they can do. Like many of you, I got this tank from Lowes and they will not do anything about it either. My landlord purchased a new Amana washer (NTW4605EW0) Labor Day weekend 201
My landlord purchased a new Amana washer (NTW4605EW0) Labor Day weekend 2015. It started having issues in the spring, so we went through the process of utilizing the manufacturers warranty. Apparently, Amana, part of Whirlpool, requires 5 attempts at repairing the machines before replacing. Okay, so starting in June 2016, we arranged service appointments 5 times and replaced 1 part, then another, 4 times. Clearly, that part is defunct. Right? Fast forward to September and then into October. Get a new washer, and not the one I preferred. We got the Whirlpool WTW4816FW1. Before the installers leave, we are having the SAME issue. Stops midcycle, doesnt finish cycle, sometimes stops while filling, or while full, or kid wash, or mid drain... But now with the new washer, the drain and spin cycle thinks it should FILL instead of drain... and Whirlpool said they would get someone out the next day, a promise they cannot keep because they dont supply the repair guy, they source with local companies. So, the company ordered 3 parts... That could be the problem. And 4 days later, 2 parts are on freaking BACK ORDER. Parts arrive. All new parts replaced. Machine still doesnt work. Outlet tested by us and them and it is fine. The techs think there is some kind of RF interference. Turn off sensor light, which is on the same wall, unplug power to wifi router (which outdates the washer). Still, doesnt work.I have spent half my week, every week, since June, restarting my washer, unplugging the damn thing, waiting, and waiting, trying again and again and again to wash 2 loads of laundry a week... Literally takes a week until the damn thing does its job. Whirlpool is sent us a replacement washer. Can you guess what happened the first time we started it? SAME ISSUE. Cycle will not complete. Sometimes it dies before it even fills. Sometimes it dies while filling. Sometimes, it will fill and fill and drain and fill and fill and drain and... never stop filling. Or, the fun one, the drain and spin cycle thinks it is suppose to fill. Continuously. And then, suddenly, after unplugging it for 1 hr, or 24, or 72 hrs, it will work fine for 1-7 cycles. Nothing is consistent except that it doesnt work consistently. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS MUCH TROUBLE???

I cant say ONE redeeming thing about this dishwasher. I hate it! It has a high temp wash, a Sani cycle & heated dry + a stainless tub. Using all of the above + having an SS tub yet everything comes out dripping wet. The cheap silverware baskets are poorly designed & positioned on the side to the back in addition to a tall tub making it difficult to access anything in them. The baskets are also cheap and poorly designed. All the spacings are the exactly the same with no proper spacing for pots, pans or larger items. These cheap racks will have a short life. I had a 14-year-old 40-gallon tank that was working great but I decided it was time to get it replaced. I picked out a Whirlpool 400-gallon tank stated to be good for a family of 3 to 4 people. Immediately after installation, I got complaints from family members that there was no enough hot water for morning showers. I turned up the thermostat to the maximum 140 degrees, but there was still wasnt enough hot water. The Whirlpool rep on the phone stated that 3 people cant take back-to-back showers. His response was, Where does it state you can? I asked his name and he would not give it to me. If 3 people cant take showers on a unit stated to be for a family of 3 to 4, something is wrong. I purchased a Whirlpool water heater with the Flame Lock Safety System on 6/4/12. When installing the water heater, the cold water pipe would not screw into the top of the water heater. I exchanged this water heater for a new water heater of the same make and model. I brought this water heater home and had it installed and noticed that the flame on the burner was orange and too high. I called the 877-817-6750 number for warranty and was told by the customer service rep that it was either the gas regulator or the orifice inside the water heater. I was told to contact a plumber to take care of this issue and it was not a warranty claim and not their problem. I then went to the Lowes store where I purchased the unit and spoke to a manager. The manager called the same number I called and was told the same thing, that I was responsible for the repairs to the unit. How can this not be covered? Both pieces are internal to the unit and were never touched during installation. This seems to be a very common complaint with Whirlpool French door especially after reading other reviews. Bought a WRF560SMY in 2/2014, from Lowes who installed it and promised good service for that first year. Whatever went wrong, they would take care of it, replace if needed, pay for lost food, etc. So far, so good. Now in 7/2015, warranty is up of course!!! And we are selling our home, so thought I would get an extended warranty as another selling point that would transfer to new owners. Well, of course, right after I purchased the warranty, the day after actually, the freezer started buzzing. Took a look and the whole back wall of freezer was covered in frosty ice. So defrosted it, seemed to run okay... For a few hours, same problem. It sounds like the compressor fan is scraping on ice, and it runs continuously. Defrosted again, same problem. So now it is time to break down and get on the phone, which I hated to do since I went through this with Samsung in late 2013, took me 3 months to resolve. Anyway, called Whirlpool Michigan office, which I recommend. They claimed they would cover repairs, and to call their warranty repair dept. to schedule service. THEY told me I was out of luck, as my just purchased warranty would not be good for 60 days. Back to Michigan, they told me it WOULD be covered, and to try again. No go, and this time someone with a middle eastern accent told me not only would it not be covered, but even after the 60 days, it still would not be covered as it was a, GET THIS!!! pre-existing condition! Excuse me, this is not a brain tumor, and Obama did away with that anyway. So tried to call Lowes, who sympathized, but could not help since the warranty I purchased was from Whirlpool, but they would repair if I paid. And be aware that most chain stores require you purchase an extended warranty within 30 days of installation, so out of luck there, but they were nice about it, told me go back to Whirlpool. So another call to Michigan, and FINALLY got a gal at their call center in Tennessee, who resolved my problem in about three minutes. All in all, 12 phone calls. This is a manufacturer issue. she said, not a repair problem. which is what the others were apparently not educated about. It appears, although she did not say so in so many words, that this is a very, very common problem, and Whirlpool will indeed cover condenser or defrost heater assemblies for 3-5 years depending on the model. So she is supposedly calling a local repair and someone will be out in a day or two, but will call us first. No call yet, so still nail biting. I would recommend to all of you with this or other issues to read the manufacturer warranty very, very carefully. There are some things in there that go beyond the standard year, and I KNEW I had read that this problem was covered beyond the one year, and indeed, it is. And also to call, call. Call their Customer Experience Center in Michigan (1-800-253-1301) and if your freezer is icing up, you will most likely get them to fix, depending on the age of your unit. If you dont get satisfaction with the first person, keep calling back again and again, and get the NAME of the person you have spoken with and tell them to document your call. This saved me, as every call I made came up on their screen so they knew I was getting frustrated. But, she assured me, this particular problem is ABSOLUTELY COVERED BY WHIRLPOOL, so obviously it is a defect they know about. Why they dont fix it at factory, dont know but will continue to look for that answer. They got especially cooperative when I told them I was purchasing a home that would need all new appliances in the near future, which is true. Use the Michigan number and keep calling and calling until you get satisfaction. This is a covered repair beyond the one year. By the way, I do not have my ice cube maker hooked up and never did, but still had this issue. With this being said, I am very unhappy that yet another refrigerator failed on me. The Samsung after only 3 months, and the Whirlpool after only 17 months. But I will follow up on this report when and if these repairs are made in a day or two ;-] we shall see, and let you all know. The repair service is Whirlpool certified, so will grill the guy they send and see how many of these he has to fix, and whether it really is fixed So stay tuned. Just dont take your time and get frustrated talking with people who turn you down right off. Be persistent, and plan on about a dozen calls and two hours of your time. Remember to take notes of times, names, what was said, etc. This is the only thing that saved me with Samsung by the way. After 3 months they told me they HAD NO REPAIR PEOPLE in my area, and sent me a check for the purchase price to buy whatever replacement I wanted, but they also made me jump through many hoops, send pictures, docs, all kinds of stuff. Think I can almost speak a mid-eastern language now as well. Not so with Whirlpool though. It seems most if not all of their call centers are in the USA. Good luck to all of you. On my way to defrost again so we can get some sleep tonight without the chainsaw noise, and will update as soon as something occurs here. Hope I helped a little. As a PS, the last gal I spoke with was so very nice and knowledgeable. I told her she should not be taking calls, but promoted to training the call takers, and did take the time to call her supervisors and leave a message at how very good she was, which we should all do if we ever get a nice, educated person on the other end.Updated on 07/29/2015: I promised an update, so here it is. After thoroughly explaining my issue, they promised and delivered a repair person who arrived within the time they gave. He was very nice, but even tho they knew what my problem was, the guy did not have the parts onboard. He said it may take a week or two. So I am defrosting my freezer about every 48 hours to keep it from totally destroying itself. To the guy who exchanged his Whirlpool for a Samsung, I wish you a whole lot of luck if something goes wrong, and it will for sure. You wont get anyone who speaks English, but if you have a Lowes warranty, you may fare better. I can give you details on what will go wrong and how they deal with it if you want. I would advise you to have the Lowes warranty, and not a Samsung warranty, and make sure you get one within 30 days, or you are out of luck with Lowes. Good luck to you. Will update more on my Whirlpool, will say the repairman was very, very nice and gave me his card to call if I had more problems I could not solve myself until the part comes in. By the way, I do not use the icemaker and never did connect it, nor with the Samsung. I pity anyone who has to deal with Samsung directly and strongly advise you to get the warranty thru the store.

We bought our washer about 3 years ago brand new from Lowes. Like others, I have had problems with holes in clothing and spots that looked like grease. It worked well up until recently when we noticed some brown splatters on the floor. Shortly after it made a loud noise like a plane taking off and the load would become unbalanced. We researched and found many people were having issues with the bearings going bad. My husband was going to order parts to fix it but you have to have a special tool that is expensive to buy... It was going to be almost $200 to repair ourselves! He called a washing machine repair man and he said he doesnt even touch them because the repair wont last. I guess were going to be better off buying a new washer. There really needs to be a recall on this product!!!

I have on more than one occasion and with small or normal loads had the washer stop and will not drain. My landlord says he bought the washer 2 years ago and it is my fault the washer wont drain. I read the instructions and can manually drain it but I shouldnt have to do this every time I wash. This has happened 5 times now and I am considering moving because of it since my landlord wont call a repairman to get it fixed.

My new Tridel Condo came with a brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer and the washer has not been working well since the beginning. After several service calls the repairman finally gave up and now were getting a new replacement. However its been a nightmare working with them trying to get this washer replaced. The Whirlpool delivery team and the service team cant seem to coordinate a time together for the replacement. We had to make a first appointment for the service guy to uninstall the old unit, the second appt for the delivery guy to drop off the new unit and pick up the old and a 3rd appt to install the new unit. Each appt has a 4 hour wait window. This is their standard procedure, which is totally inconvenient to customers. To make matter worse, the delivery guy came too early for a condo delivery (before 9 AM) and told us he will be back the next day. And he didnt show up. It looks like now we actually have to have 5 appts (including the 2 missed appts by their delivery guy) to have the washer replaced. All the time I wasted waiting for this delivery is worth more than the washer itself. What would be 4 hours X 5 appts = 20 hours. This is the worst customer experience ever. After 3 months of constantly calling Whirlpool and still no washer. Whirlpool needs to hire some competent people who actually care about servicing their customers.

Whirlpool stove, product ID WFG540HOES. I purchased a whirlpool gas stove in 2014 for a lake house. Came to my lake house to find the temperature was 90 degrees inside and the oven was running full blast. The oven had turned itself on. Whirlpool appears to be having a problem with this type of issue. Called their customer care department and was transferred to the appliance safety line which was only a line to leave a voicemail. Very bad customer service. My kitchen countertops and kitchen floor will need to be replaced, also cannot get rid of the burnt smell in my house. Do not recommend purchasing Whirlpool appliances.

Purchased in January of 2014: Brand new Whirlpool WOS51EC7AS01 model oven - interior bottom metal has buckled causing the enamel to crack and break off from oven bottom. I registered all my new appliances immediately for warranty. When this happened after the fourth or fifth time baking in the oven, I called Whirlpool to get a service person to look at it. First person Whirlpool scheduled to come out refused to even come out, without looking at my oven. He said he knew we did something wrong? They immediately set up a second service person, after two weeks waiting for an answer; I had to call him (twice). He said that his report and pictures sent into Whirlpool shows normal use and there is nothing wrong with our oven? So, Whirlpool will do nothing to repair the oven? We just spent almost $4,000.00 on all new Whirlpool appliances, and this is how we get treated? WOW! Never again will I ever purchase a Whirlpool product. The enamel is gone in spots from our oven floor. How long do they think that will last with no protective coating on the oven? Terrible customer service.

We purchased the Cabrio washer & dryer with 6th Sense technology in 6/2007. What a mistake it has been. We have had 3 F1 error codes that a repairman has had to come fix all about a year and half apart. It makes crazy loud sounds if it decides to actually spin in the final spin cycle. It normally does not spin. It just always flashes UL for unbalanced load. We are extremely dissatisfied with this set. The dryer heating element has gone out also. We just purchased a new part. Prior to this, we had a hand me down washer & dryer that worked excellent. We regret getting rid of them, and now need to purchase a new washer & dryer. Whirlpool ought to stand behind its products and get this fixed.

I bought a 6 year warrantied Whirlpool hot water heater Model N50T61-403, product number 0733318, at Lowes Home Improvement Center and for three years the pilot light fails to stay lit. I have talked with Whirlpool 1-877-817-6750, the number on the unit, many times. I went through the troubleshooting checklist and verified all requirements. I paid a plumber $150 to check it out and he said I needed a larger supply line and venting the closet door would help. I did this and pilot still goes out periodically. Whirlpool sent me a new gas valve and it cost me another $150 to have it installed. The plumber said everything is good. But the pilot is still going out. Called Whirlpool again and talked with them for 24 minutes. The woman on the line was telling me I needed a certain amount of oxygen for this 40,000 BTU model. She was giving me minimum requirements for square or cubic feet of house with 8 inch ceilings. Yes, she said 8 inch ceilings 4 or 5 times as we went over the requirements. I got so frustrated asking her what she was talking about and she hung up on me. I called back and asked for a supervisor and a different woman had me hold on, came back and said a supervisor would call me. I did get a call back and the supervisor wanted to send me another gas valve and a burner assembly. I told him the burner assembly is working fine and I have a new gas valve. I asked him to send me a $150 along with it to pay the plumber. He said they only warranty the parts. So, am I supposed to have $450 in labor plus my time in this product on top of the original cost? I said no thank you and asked him if he would accept this as a solution if he were the customer and he said this is not a personal discussion. I know his answer. I am never buying a Whirlpool product again. But now I need to buy a new, good brand, water heater to replace the Whirlpool piece of junk. Bad product, bad company, bad warranty. I got screwed by Whirlpool once but never again.

We subsequently replaced the lid 2 additional times only to have the same break on the right hand side causing the lid to pop up. We purchased 4.0 cu. ft. Cabrio Top Load Washer with 6th Sense Technology MODEL WTW7340XW2 on 11/20/2011. We are a small family of 3 so use of the machine is light. We noticed a strange sound and some leaks a week ago and called in a technician recommended on the Whirlpool website. To our horror he informed us that we need to replace the tub bearing assembly, rotor and stator - to a cost of $1095! This machine is not even 3 years old. Did we buy a lemon? I called Whirlpool. They were simply not interested. The online chat person sent me to the Whirlpool Customer Experience Team where I was told that I should buy an insurance plan to cover the costs of repairs. They then sent me on to the insurance department who want me to pay $338 to buy a repair plan to have the machine fixed. And then referred me to the Manufacturing division when I wanted to know how to escalate the problem - and if you call that number - there is no option to deal with problems - seriously?!? Is this what I should expect when buying the Whirlpool brand?

This Whirlpool washing machine is incredibly annoying and slow in everything it does. First off when you press the START button it takes 2-3 minutes before it decides to do anything, like maybe add water (except click, click and more click). If you have pressed the start button and you want to stop it to add something... again you have to wait almost 2-3 minutes before the lock is released and you can open the door. I am at 2 hrs and 15 minutes as I write this on the LIGHT WASH cycle with extra rinse and its still going. I have never seen anything like it. Cant imagine how long a HEAVY CYCLE takes. Cannot even try to measure the time. I put the load in and go to work and hope its complete when Im done 8 hrs later. We had a Maytag for 15 years with no issues (other than a drain hose cracked and had to be replaced) and it was time for a new one with a move to a new place. The sales associate convinced us this was the best machine at the time... Well what a mistake that was. There are no complaints about the actual washing. Everything comes out clean but I suppose taking that long I cant imagine why it wouldnt. I certainly cant recommend a Whirlpool washer to a friend, because I dread the thought of doing laundry at this point.

And why is there a lid lockout? Did someone accidentally fall in? If I drop something after Ive pushed start, I have to wait until the machine unlocks the lid. Why? This seems counterproductive. I just finished a call with Sears Repair. I informed them that this was the 5th service call since purchasing this Whirlpool Cabrio washer two years ago. The washer simply does not work. It fails to complete its cycle; fails to spin; fails to drain; fails to fill; leaves clothes streaked and dirty, smelly, and dripping wet for me to wring out by hand. I purchased it because of my faith in Sears and its Energy Saver label. I often have to wash the same load 2 or even 3 times to get it clean; no more than 6 towels at a time. (It is a large capacity washer, but acts up most often when washing towels or jeans.)Im a retired teacher; and in my best teacher voice – calm but serious – said that I would like Sears to come and take it away, issue me a credit or refund, or I would proceed to file with the Small Claims Court. His immediate response was, I dont appreciate the threat. I carefully (teacher voice) explained that it was not a threat... it was information. Yes, Im angry. But more than that, I am so disappointed in Sears, a company that I have always been loyal to – no more. Time to leave childhood behind and wake up to the reality that this is not the same Sears Ive dealt with for the last sixty years. Now, I’m to drive 25 miles of country roads to a Laundromat.

Regarding a Whirlpool Refrigerator (model ET8CHMXKQ04) purchased in 05. I dont remember exactly when the problem began but the freezer starts its defrost cycle, water drips down through the refrigerator compartment (soaking all paper/cardboard covered products), collects under the crisper trays and eventually spills out onto the floor. Its a river of water that requires a towel to collect.I believe whats missing is some sort of collection funnel and tube that catches this dripping water and delivers it to the evaporation tray behind the base cover plate under the refrigerator. Obviously, Whirlpool has no quality control nor does it do any field tests to ensure their products are designed and operate properly.

There are times when it washes just fine, but I always have to put the mode on deep water wash because the normal mode uses very little water (like its supposed to) but it doesnt clean the clothes. However, most of the time it doesnt wash at all. All the lights will turn off and youll hear this sound and itll drain the water without having been in the wash cycle. Worthless piece of equipment! I purchased and had professionals install a Whirlpool 30-gallon water heater in 2007. Since that time I have had issues with the unit not staying lite, but have been able to deal with it myself. Then in November 2011, it wouldnt work. After paying a plumber to come out and check everything, we got on the phone with Whirlpool who goes through their generic checklist, and after all that they agreed the control was no good. They sent a replacement part out at which time I had to pay to have put in. Now, March 2012, the same thing is going on with the unit. Customer service is their same polite self and have to go through their checklist, but unfortunately we were cut off. This was followed by calls and trying to get the same operator, who was supposed to call me back. It didnt happen. I then called and was hung up on. Finally, I had to work with another operator who again wanted to go through her checklist! She finally agreed the same control unit must be bad and is sending me a new one so I can pay to have it installed! They will not admit the unit is bad and replace it completely. I guess when buying Whirlpool you need to understand they dont back their products. It appears to be normal that a control unit from Whirlpool only has a life expectancy of 3 or 4 months. Bought the Cabrio washer dryer set back on 1-12-13 for my new home and thought it was a good purchase. Well now its March on 2017 and the washer has been slowly getting louder during spin cycle to the point where yup you guessed it the bearing is bad because on a cheap seal that suppose to keep water out. It just cost me just under $600 to get the repair done and from reading other reviews and the fact that I have worked on cars and machines at my employment this will happen again. I wanted to save money on water for the city that I live in charges gold prices per cubic units of water but for the price of repairs to the water saved I am in the red. So once it goes again going back to conventional unit and will never buy anything from this company again. I work in the second largest printing company in the world for 28 years on press and know a bit about quality workmanship. Its really sort of typical on how over the years some good manufacturers cut quality and design in planned obsolescence into their product just to make money for the useless corporate bloat that has taken over. I made the mistake in buying what I thought was a good product from a great company but they just proved me wrong. People do not buy any products from this manufacture and find out what other unit they make and steer away from them too.

We have front loaders. Far, far less damaging to the clothing than a top loader with agitator, would never go back to top loader. That comes with a caveat though. There is a difference you may not realize between the two styles. With a front loader comes a little maintenance. You will need to clean the washer periodically. Most all the stores sell the cleaning tablets and no, not all cleaners are created equal. I will only use Affresh after testing most of them. With a front loader there is always some water in the bottom of the drum, even after the cycle ends and even when it looks empty. So if you wash real dirty or smelly things, you’ll want to run an empty cycle to rinse out that leftover water or run with cleaner. In between wash days you’ll need to leave the door open so it doesn’t mold or mildew. The door gasket/seals will show mold and mildew and or you’ll get a mildew smell in your clothing. The only issues we’ve had with these units were the learning curve on front loaders in general and with the dryer we had the water valve for the steam function stick open (after 5 years) but it was due to calcium build up from our well water, not a issue with the machine itself. The dryer lint screen could be better. It is vertical so as the lint builds up during a cycle it drops to the bottom and accumulated at the bottom falling off as you pull it out each time to clean it. The lint catches on a crazy amount of extrusions inside the lint trap which also makes it nearly impossible to get down in and effectively clean all the crap out. One last thing if youre changing from top to front loaders. Buy the peristalsis, they’re expensive but it’s a pain in the butt to get stuff out if you don’t have them. Overall we’ve been very happy with our Whirlpool front loaders and would confidently recommend them to you.

Weve had our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine for about 3 1/2 to 4 years. At first, it left our clothes wrinkled, so I purchased a steamer to help remove the wrinkles. After a few months, it started making a terrible clanging noise. My husband was able to repair and it ran okay for a while. Over a few months, it got louder and louder. It does not get our clothes completely clean. Some even come out dry on one side. Now, we are getting an F50 code and it shuts down after 1 minute. After reading the reviews, I agree Cabrio is a bad product. What happened to the trustworthy, best value Whirlpool name?

Whirlpool Gold refrigerator WRF989SDAH00. I purchased this French door refrigerator based on past experiences with Whirlpool and sad to say this is not the same quality product I have know Whirlpool for. After the warranty ran out, it died. The first service company I called identified the problem as a known (to Whirlpool) design flaw. They would not touch it and referred me to contact Whirlpool. I did and the company referred me to Dinos Appliance Factory Service (in Phoenix AZ). They came out and confirmed it was a design flaw. They replaced the evaporator and compressor and it lasted about 6 weeks.

My wife and I bought my mom a Whirlpool Cabrio. It worked fine but after a while it stopped working properly. It would take forever to start washing. We called Lowes and they said it was fine. Second time they came out, they replaced a part that was the problem. Again it didnt work. Would start to wash two to three hours after you hit start. My mom had nothing but problems with it. My wife and I had a Samsung washer and dryer which worked excellent. We sold them when we moved and our apartment had no washer/dryer connection. I should have given them to my mom. So she was tired of her washer and we set out to buy a new one.So since I had a Samsung, I convinced to get one also. We went to the Sears outlet and found a really nice Samsung washer for around $500. So far, the machine has worked well. No complaints and gets the clothes clean. So for anyone that has had problems buying appliances and is looking for a new one, well, Samsung is doing a great job so far.

We bought the washer and dryer set almost three years ago. Great sales pitch! Energy saver, extra capacity, low water usage, Whirlpool name and I thought we were getting great quality! Three years later I am disgusted, disappointed and am junking the washer. The dryer has a new heating element that we proudly fixed ourselves after the repairmen told us that these were meant to be throwaways. We just thought he did not want to work on it. After watching several YouTube videos we had it apart and found the issue was a cracked heating element. We ordered a new one for 100$ and spent another 4 hours putting it back together. If we had to pay a repairmen to do all that the bill would have been the price of a cheap new one. Fast forward three weeks and now the washer quit and it can be one of at least 15 problems. After reading all these reviews we have decided to toss it as junk. It took forever to was a load of clothes negating any energy saving! Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off all of us hardworking Americans selling us junk. At one time the Whirlpool name meant you could count on a quality product! If Whirlpool really wanted to do the right thing, they would stop selling these immediately and give customers a credit toward the purchase of new washers and dryers!

Our refrigerator is only 18 months old, a Whirlpool Gold gx5htxvyo5. It was sold to us believing it was stainless steel. There is no way scratches come from nowhere. We have a Whirlpool dishwasher and stove in stainless steel. You cant compare how much better they are. Im very dissatisfied. Wed like to have new doors. Something is very wrong with the finish on these doors.
