Please read if youre thinking about buying from Whirlpool - the Whirlpool front loading washing machine. Hmm, where do I start? Oh yeah, its a colossal piece of garbage. Four years ago my wife and I went shopping for a washer and dryer. We looked at quite a few and then we came across the Whirlpool front loading washer. Ah, the wave of the future. The end all solution to your washing needs. The best the market has to offer and at over $1,100, they should be. The salesman completely sold us on why we should spend a little extra for such a superior product. I thought, I work hard. I dont make a ton of money, but this sounds like a long term, worthwhile investment. Wrap it up, the washer and dryer combo. Fast forward 4 years later. Whats that awful clunking sound the washer is making? Oh, its the drum. Maybe its off center. I opened it up to find that the spider arm is broken. Isnt it only 4 years old? Surely they (Whirlpool) will fix this at no charge to the consumer because as I was told 4 years ago, this is the best technology. Now mind you, its just my wife and me. She doesnt have to do laundry for 50 people or even 4 for that matter. Calling Whirlpool (ring, ring, ring. Hello, this is Whirlpool), I explained to them what the problem is and that we have only had this magnificent piece of gold for 4 years. What can you do for me? Sorry sir, the machine is only warrantied for a year. Youll have to buy the $350 part to fix it. Reading between the lines, Youre screwed sucker. Thanks for the cash. Really, youre telling me that I spent almost $2,000 of my very hard earned money for a washer and dryer set, and after only 4 years of use you will not fix it? Allow me to paraphrase the reply in laymans terms. Nope, youre ** and thanks for the green. Here are my thoughts on Whirlpool. They are one of the worst companies out there for customer service. The front loading washing machine is a horrible product that should be pulled off the market and never be sold again. My experience with this company will never happen again because I will never ever buy another one of their products. So please, before you think about giving them your business by buying a front loading washing machine, think again. And remember this - I now have a $1,100 paperweight.

I bought an adapter that I added to the kitchen pipe, drilled a few holes in my cabinets to route the hose and voila! It is small but big enough so it's perfect for me. I didn't realize it had an internal heater so I was moving the hose between hot & cold under the sink but now that I know. I will try the heater. The settings are complicated so you have to read the instructions fully. Before I read them I thought every load took 2-3 hours but they don't. I do like to use the heavy soil setting and that does take a couple hours, but if I'm in a hurry or the load is not that bad I use a shorter 50 min setting. For the drain hose I either put it out the window or put a screen in the sink & tie it to the faucet. You have to tie it down wherever you aim it because the water comes out with enough force to throw the hose. I had a couple incidents of kitchen flood before this stuck in my head, now that sucker is secured well. I intend to make a permanent drain to the pipe eventually but for now I just use window/ sink. This required a longer drain hose. For apartment use, I am very happy.

I purchased a Duet several years ago and did not have a clue as to the problems everyone was having. Over the course of ownership I called the city to determine if we had a sewer leak. I had a plumber inspect our pipes. I felt really stupid that it took me this long to figure out it was the washer. I knew it smelled like mildew and have been using vinegar, afresh, Clorox until I am blue in the face. I didnt figure out that the sewers smell was also the same as the washers until I got on line and read about these machines. Finally, I lifted up the gasket around the door and it was completely black with mold. No amount of afresh was going to fix this problem. Do not purchase these front loaders. Feel like they should have been recalled and I really dont understand why they are still in circulation. I have also been having health/breathing issues and I cant help but think the mold is causing my illness.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer on 11/07/10. I brought it home, hooked it up, turned it on and water came pouring out the bottom. I should have known better then, but I took it back and got another one, same model. I dont even have it 2 years and its locked up. I had a repairman here and was told it needed a new water pump ($200 plus). There are 3 adults in my home so its not like I use it hard. I am really disgusted. This is the 3rd washer I bought from Whirlpool in less than 10 years. I went on the Whirlpool site and voiced my disappointment and my problems with their washers. I was told they take pride in their products and I should have a nice day. Yeah, right, they dont have to drag clothes up and down the stairs and then to a laundromat when theyre in their 50s with a bad knee and back. Yes, I will have a nice day when I get that piece of junk out of my house. I will never buy anything made by Whirlpool again.

I purchased an expensive dishwasher made by Whirlpool and sold at Lowe’s. Immediately upon receiving the dishwasher I noticed a good size scratch. I had it serviced within one month of purchase because dishes were coming out dripping wet. Technician came out and told me I needed to add rinse aid. I had been using rinse aid, which I think is ridiculous to have to buy an additional bottle of something that’s not even cheap just so this thing dries dishes but moving on...Now it’s been 1.7 years and I’m having more problems. Top rack of dishwasher is broken and falls to the side every time you pull it out. The door to dishwasher also no longer has any spring. I take very good care of my things and this just unbelievable. I called Lowe’s they won’t help because it’s been more than a year! I guess Lowe’s can’t stand behind their merchandise for more than a year because they know they’re selling garbage. I called Whirlpool directly and was told they would come out and service my appliance for a minimum charge if $189! I have no words. I need to buy a stove in the next week and I assure you I will steer clear of Whirlpool. Like the title of my review I feel absolutely robbed.

We bought a new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer and dryer in July of 2014. We were continually finding wet areas in our clothes after they were supposed to be dry. We finally called Lowes where we purchased the set. We had bought Whirlpool appliances about 10 years ago and were pleased with the product as we never had any problems. Lowes sent a service technician on September 12th who checked out the dryer and told us there was nothing wrong with the dryer, but the vent was unsatisfactory (he was from A&E Appliance Repair). He said there was nothing he could do and charged us around $148 for the 14 minutes he was here. We checked out the vent and found it to be working satisfactorily, but we continued finding wet areas on the clothes that were supposed to be dry. We continued to call Lowes and finally spoke to Amy at their Headquarters Customer Care Dept. with no positive results. We then called Whirlpool, and they sent someone who replaced the steam dryer valve which he said was leaking in November (it took another month to get this part). It is now January of 2015, and we are still experiencing wet spots on our clothes even worse than before!

I bought the Whirlpool WTW 5000DW1 washer and dryer to go with it. Within the first 2 weeks the plastic handle broke on the dryer. Ive been using the corner of the plastic handle ever since to open the dryer. The washer is the worst washer I have ever purchased in my life. The tub doesnt fill up over the clothes half the time. It is perfectly balanced on the floor but it always bounces around and you cannot open it to rearrange the clothes because they lock the lid. The only option is to try to hold it and wait for it to finish or start over by pressing the button for at least 3 seconds. I have had a few items get shredded by it and a lot of times the clothes dont get cleaned and rinsed properly. Even on 2 rinse option. Just the fact that it has a 2 rinse option is a big red flag. It is supposed to be a energy saver and water saver but that isnt true. If you have to wash and rinse the clothes twice because it has spots from the detergent still on the sheets, something just isnt right. Whirlpool shouldnt even put a product like this on the market. I have owned many Whirlpool products before this but this is the last Whirlpool product I will ever buy. Obviously Whirlpool doesnt test its products or care about quality.

Whirlpool Duet Washer Trouble. Im having the same issue as Tom in Oakville. The F35-Sud errors pointed to the pressure sensor - NOT. 2 parts, a technician visit, and $800 later, Im still waiting on a Main Board replacement that is on nationwide back order. Time frame unknown.

It is in the mid-range of cost and functions. For a mid-range dishwasher, it has many options, sometimes too many. It does not have rinse and hold. I think its cycles run too long; not always energy efficient (i.e. the simplest one uses the most energy).

Our countertop Whirlpool microwave oven is just over two years old and one of the led lights in the clock display just went out. The push-button opening mechanism is very hard to work and quite loud when the door is shut. When the timer is set but the start button is not activated for a few minutes, the door warning goes on and you have to reset the timer. There are five beeps that indicate when cooking is done and they continue even when the door is opened. The only way to stop them is to push the stop button and there is no way to adjust the noise level or number of beeps.

The stove is okay except it scratches on its glass surface fairly easy with the non-stick pans. Also wished it had a self-cleaning oven. Its not the easiest to clean on the inside of the oven. The knobs are easy to use but its hard to navigate knobs to low to keep food warm rather than cooking at a low temperature. It has strong exhaust fan that really does its job.

We purchased 4.0 cu. ft. Cabrio Top Load Washer with 6th Sense Technology MODEL WTW7340XW2 on 11/20/2011. We are a small family of 3 so use of the machine is light. We noticed a strange sound and some leaks a week ago and called in a technician recommended on the Whirlpool website. To our horror he informed us that we need to replace the tub bearing assembly, rotor and stator - to a cost of $1095! This machine is not even 3 years old. Did we buy a lemon? I called Whirlpool. They were simply not interested. The online chat person sent me to the Whirlpool Customer Experience Team where I was told that I should buy an insurance plan to cover the costs of repairs. They then sent me on to the insurance department who want me to pay $338 to buy a repair plan to have the machine fixed. And then referred me to the Manufacturing division when I wanted to know how to escalate the problem - and if you call that number - there is no option to deal with problems - seriously?!? Is this what I should expect when buying the Whirlpool brand?

My Whirlpool side by side refrigerator which is not 7 years old has had more repairs than you can imagine. After paying over $1,500.00, I have had a repair service come out at least 5 times. Today, they say I need a new compressor at the tune of $850.00. This combined with my other repairs would add up to around $1,300.00. I am certainly not going to invest any more money in this refrigerator. I wouldnt recommend a Whirlpool Gold for anything. Dont know which brand I am going to purchase now as they certainly dont make anything like they use to. Totally disillusioned!!!

My gas range doesnt work all that well. Sometimes the flame catches and lights, sometimes it doesnt. Oven seems to be less than steady in cooking. It is ok, but I wouldnt buy again.

I own a Cabrio Whirlpool washer. It already had several repairs and never got my wash clean. I complained to the company, no results. This washer is not even a year old. Why will they not stand behind their products?

Whirlpool corporation is one of the worst company Im dealing with, we bought a new home and had new Whirlpool appliance incorrectly installed in Sept 2018, I raised a ticket in Oct 2018 for my dishwasher which doesnt open properly, flamingo services in Atlanta came and unplugged dishwasher saying its not installed properly. I wait for more than 30 days for parts to arrive and my dishwasher to be fixed. Called Whirlpool/Flamingo. Both dont give confirmation as to when the parts will arrive (note they havent been shipped by distributor). Wow seriously??? Please Im already facing inconvenience since more than month on a brand New appliance. They say no compensation no replacement. Only I will have to wait indefinite time for dishwasher to be shipped and repaired. So much of inconvenience and customer service says she will not call me back and I will have to follow up? Bought a Whirlpool Freezer on bottom in Feb 2012. Its December 2015. Only had gotten a 2-yr warranty. Wished I would have gotten a longer one. About a yr ago the freezer started leaking water all over the bottom of the freezer which turned into a sheet of ice... then leaking water all over the floor. Now there is a knocking/clicking noise coming from the back of it. This product is only 4 yrs old and Im praying it doesnt give out on us. That was an almost $2,000 purchase. I was hoping to at least get 10 yrs out of it. Never buying a Whirlpool Fridge again.

My washing machine quit working with one month left on the warranty. In trying to schedule repair I was never able to talk to a live person. Via chat and online scheduling they could not or would not come out for 10 days. Also they would not approve use of a local repairman who was willing to work on it in 2 days. Waiting 10 days for service on a washing machine is crazy.

We have a Whirlpool Cabrio mod. WTW5600 XW2, ser. C12830447 he... H2O.. low wash system. Less than two years old. It does not get clothes or towels clean. I put 2 jackets in on bulky items and part of one of the jackets was still dry. They were two small childrens jackets. My husband and I wash as long as possible and on hot wash (which is not hot!). Should not take 70+ minutes to try & get normal clothes clean!Now the softener is draining into the wash with the detergent. Another service call. Learned you can only fill the softened bin half full or less. WHAT??? Our extended warranty is up soon and not sure what to do. We would like to get rid of this pile of junk but cant afford another washer bill. Also wouldnt want anyone else to get stuck with it. Its a shame a company cant put out #1 good product and #2 stand behind it. Bring all of the company production back to the USA or put out a better product and stop worshiping the almighty dollar. Im done with Whirlpool (which was the product to buy), but stuck with this washer for now until we are sure that the brand we buy performs as it should. What happened to the PRIDE in & RESPONSIBILITY of making a good product and standing by what youve made. As my hubby has said, if you have to buy an extended warranty, whats wrong with your product! On November 22, 2013 I loaded my Whirlpool Quiet Partner III dishwasher and set it to start. About a minute later I heard an odd noise coming from the machine. I went over to take a look and saw black smoke and flames coming from the little vent area at the lower right corner of the control panel. I opened the door to stop the machine but the washer kept going throwing water all over the floor. I shut the door and ran and turned off the breaker and then unplugged the cord from under the sink. Two different repair service companies said they would be hesitant to try and repair it due to possible unseen damages. I was lucky that I was home when it happened. I could have lost my house to a fire. There is a large consumer lawsuit already in play regarding this very thing.

Here is my TERRIBLE experience: After only eight months it started to fail intermittently. Within weeks, it failed completely. I pay someone to come out and look. We get a part from Whirlpool. Pay extra to express ship it. 2 days later, pay to have it installed. Still doesnt work. Express ship another part. 2 days later, pay again to have it installed. STILL doesnt work. Express ship ANOTHER part. 3 days later - it STILL DOESNT WORK!!!!! Then they closed - wait another day. Now they authorize a complete replacement. Wait till Monday to PAY to have this one uninstalled. Haul it upstairs, into my car, back to Lowes, so I can get a new one. Haul it home. Pay AGAIN to have it installed.I was without hot water for 10 days and paid about 4 time the cost of the heater in labor to get through this MESS. I talked with Customer Service to get some help with how terribly unfair this was. Warranty Only Covers parts - should have bought the extra warranty... Silly me - I thought Whirlpool was a reputable and reliable brand. Boy was I WRONG!!! DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR THE NAME - NOT WORTH IT!!!!!! I also dont recommend paying extra for the Energy Efficient. Its added electronics that just give it more to go wrong. Plain and simple is the lesson for the day!!! And after the hours of frustration with their customer service - Ill NEVER buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live!!!

Whirlpool 29 cu ft French Door Refrigerator WRF989SDAM - We purchased this refrigerator September 2013 for our new home. We moved in November 18, 2013. The refrigerator made a very loud buzzing/humming noise from the beginning and did not make enough ice. The shop we bought it from came on 2 occasions to work on the ice maker and finally totally replaced it. Then the rack on the bottom of the left door fell out and contained glass jars of pickled vegetables. They broke and made a big mess and etched our travertine tile floor. We called the shop and they sent their son out who put the rack in with duct tape which of course did not work so we took it out and put it in the cabinet. We had to pay to have the tile polished to remove the etching. On the weekend of November 15, 2014 the humming noise was so loud that we called the repair person again and they came out on November 17, 2014. At first they thought it was a fan motor but the freezer started making a loud noise and the owner came and said the compressor was going out. Our food was beginning to thaw and we asked if they could at least loan us a refrigerator to use. They brought us an old small fridge which was put in the garage. We took all our food out there. They came November 25 and picked up the fridge to be repaired. We had been told the warranty was out but after calling your company they were told Whirlpool would cover parts and labor. Today is Thanksgiving Day and we can not cook a big meal due to the small fridge and freezer and we are buying bags of ice every day. We have family visiting and must go out for dinner. We have no idea of when our refrigerator will be returned to us. This has been an expensive and disappointing experience. I would never recommend your refrigerator to anyone due to this experience. I really feel we should have been offered a new refrigerator at a discount. We bought all our appliances from Dons Appliances in Okeechobee, FL 34974 and they are all Whirlpool. This refrigerator cost $2299 and our total order was $9,642.84. We would appreciate a response from your company.

Ice maker continuously freezes up & have to pour hot water into the ice maker to get the ice maker off the mounting. VERY ANNOYING, A DEFECT IN THE UNIT= NEED CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ON THIS.

Purchased on Nov 2010 at Lowes. Washer machine sounds like an airplane on the wash and worst on the spin cycles. Bearings are gone!! Customer service was no help. Basically was told I was ** out of luck. Have service bulletin addressing this issue, yet they refused to help. $1300 learning experience about Whirlpool. Social media here we come. Goal: to keep at least 1 million customers away from their scrap!!

We brought this in Jun 2015, within 1 weeks it developed its problems. Ive had service men out 10 times for ice buildup on the freezer side, and the refrigerator side not cold even on max setting, and the problem hasnt been solved yet.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load washing machine September of 2012. It has never cleaned the clothes well. For the last month the machine has a very loud spin cycle. I am very unhappy with this purchase and it is 2 months out of warranty. I emailed WHIRLPOOL and was told that all appliances have problems and wear out. WOW! It is 14 months old and has been used with care. I will never buy another Whirlpool product.

I chose Whirlpool first then my machine became of I wanted a front loading machine with a larger tub. I wanted to be able to wash anything without hesitation. I truly love my wash and dryer. This set is the first set I have ever bought brand new.

We purchased this large 4 door refrigerator in December 2018, from Costco in Florida, having in mind with the 2 years Manufacturing warranties and 2 years of Costco warranties above the manufacturing warranties. We didnt expect any problems for the initial 4 years. Up on delivery some parts of the unit was missing, delivery guys said they will make a report for the missing left drawers and the parts. We did not have any manuals how to setup and use. After we called the customer service they send us the operating manual.We encounter several other problems with this unit and the most recent one to our surprise the warning light to change the water filter was on. We hardly using the water from the fridge because of the having monthly spring water delivery service. We called customer service and after explanation of our concern and following their instruction the light was on. Finally we were told that whether or not using the water filter has to be changed every 6 months and send us the additional service warranty contract which is $411.95 for 3 years. We still have 3 years 4 months remaining from our original warranty.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7800XW2 - After buying my American made washer..... at nearly $900 with extended warranty about 2 years ago. This week noticed small cracks in plastic that surrounds and holds glass lid. Now lid will not sit flat and glass is emerging from encasement. Called extended warranty claim center and was told it was a cosmetic issue. Called Whirlpool, and was told they were unaware of this flaw, even though countless websites, chat sites, and Youtube. My frustration is how they claim to be unaware of this flaw and refusal address it, after countless consumers have called. I would be willing to start a class action on this matter!

Everyone has been impressed with how quiet my Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher was and how clean the dishes came out, but that didnt last but 3 short years. In the life of a dishwasher, 3 years should be less than a third of the life expediency. I purchased a 3 year protection plan from Sears only to find out that it included the year you get the new appliance, so it just added 2 years. Just my luck. I have bragged and bragged and bragged on this dishwasher because it was quiet and cleaned so well, but now I know that was premature because it should have last much longer. I sure didnt get my moneys worth.

My $800 Whirlpool Cabrio top loader does not rinse the soap out of the clothes. Nor does it even get the clothes completely wet. After the final cycle I have soap scum in all the wrinkles of the clothes. Most dissatisfied purchase I’ve ever made. The one-star rating comes from the pretty blue digital displays. I’ll be purchasing another; this one goes to the dump where it belongs!

Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator Control Panel Failure - This French door refrigerator with freezer on the bottom was purchased new in November 2008. This August, the refrigerator stopped cooling. I contacted a reputable local appliance company who diagnosed the motherboard was not functioning on the appliance. They ordered a new one from Whirlpool and replaced it. Forty-five days later, the replacement motherboard stopped functioning. When I contacted Whirlpool directly to inform them what was happening, they continually stated that the appliance company was not part of Whirlpools approved appliance technicians, and offered no assistance in guaranteeing the problem will not continue to happen. I am extremely disappointed with Whirlpools customer service and unwillingness to guarantee their products. A 3 year old refrigerator should not stop working.

First three months, the main water gasket broke. Thank you for lots of water all over the kitchen. I pulled the washer out to inspect the cause, wanted to see if it was house plumbing or dishwasher. The hose was hanging off the bottom of the machine. During the 45-minute call, I got in my car and drove to plumbing supply and applied a new hose clamp. The next day, a free service call, the repairman said it was the second one this week, Thats just what I would have done, but would not put the machine back. (void the warranty, finish work, etc...not sure how he would have serviced the machine if I did not pull it out for him). A few months later the wheels on the top shelves give way/fall off the rack, so we have those replaced. As soon as one is replaced, the other side falls off... Now, approximately 14 months into installation, the dishwasher does not work. The control panel is flashing and will not start. What a runaround with KitchenAid. We were told there was a recall on the hose clamp (we never got one). We cannot have the control panel worked on until the hose clamp is certified... That will take a week. Then we can call back... What a hassle. We bought this expensive product on good reviews. We are most disappointed. There is very little concern for making the product good. Its incredible that so much can go wrong in such a short time of limited use. Once/day... The hose clamp is just poor engineering. The rest is terrible quality and support

I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT IN MY LIFETIME!!!! If I could I would rate this fridge and Whirlpool’s repair and customer service a NEGATIVE 100. My wife and myself purchased this refrigerator on 6/2/19. On 6/16/19 we noticed that it was not cooling as should, we called in to set up a repair service call only to find out that we had to wait until 6/20/19 to have a service tech come out to look at the refrigerator. When the service person came out to look at it he stated that it needed a sensor??? And that they would have to wait until the evaporator thawed out to replace the sensor. We had to reschedule another tech on the following Monday 6/24/19 to replace the part. 8 days after the refrigerator stopped cooling.Now fast forward 2 weeks and now we have the exact same issue, whatever was fixed did not correct the issue. We had to call back into Whirlpool to make a setup another service call. We have to wait 5 more days until a service tech can come out to recheck the issue. Whirlpool offered no other assistance. If I could I would return this defective unit and buy a different brand of refrigerator. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT IN MY LIFETIME!!!! I will make sure that I let everyone I know that I would never recommend a Whirlpool product!!

I purchased this washer brand new just 2 years ago. It started making loud crackling noises approximately 3 mos ago. Yesterday it decided it did not want to spin or drain. Today a repairmen tells me its a wash. The computer screen has gone wacky and the cost to replace that will be well over $400, almost to the penny what I spent 2 years ago. This is not a good product Whirlpool and i trusted you since my previous washer lasted over 15 years. I need a refund and a new washer! Disgusted!

I purchased a Whirlpool fridge in September of 2015. In March of 2016 I noticed the Fridge portion was getting too cold. By April 2016 the freezer stopped freezing and fridge started warming up. I reported the issue to Whirlpool and made an appointment. The day of the appointment the first company called and their tech couldnt make it because of a family emergency. They sent another company out instead. That company diagnosed the issue as a faulty chiller and ordered the part and told me they would be in touch. A week goes by with no working fridge and I call them. They say it will be another week for the parts. Two weeks go by - no call. I call them and they say they have the parts and I make an appointment.The day of the appointment I call them to find out what time they will be out and they tell me they dont have all the parts. And when I mention that I have been without a fridge and that I am frustrated that they arent calling me and that I am having to call them back the lady starts yelling at me asking me if I want to cancel my appointment. So I call Whirlpool and ask for another company. They send a company out that is not trained to be working on a sealed unit. So I call Whirlpool back again and they send an in house tech out three days later. This is over about a month without a fridge at this point. Their tech simply recharges the system and says that it should be fine.A week later the freezer stops freezing and the fridge warms up to the point that both are not usable. The tech comes out and diagnoses that there it is most likely the chiller because of a build up of frost in the freezer. Orders the part and a week and a bit later I call Whirlpool up to get an ETA on the parts. They say they have the parts now (no call??) and they schedule an appointment. The tech comes out and puts the part in almost a week later (2 months now) and says that it is still building up frost in an area that it shouldnt and calls tech support back and forth for the next two hours. He leaves saying give it some time to see if it works, but admits to me that it is likely it is leaking in an area that he cant access.So I call up Whirlpool and explain the situation and ask for a new Fridge. It has been two months and the tech by his own admission could not say he fixed the problem and thought the problem maybe somewhere else. After looking at my case and me being on hold back and forth for about a half hour the supervisor says that at this time I need to wait to see if it fails again. And that if it does I need to have a tech back on site to verify. So this will be the seventh time I took time off work, it will be the fourth time the fridge fails and that I will have to throw out groceries. When is enough enough. I am into this now for almost double what the fridge is worth in lost wages and groceries.Do yourself a favour and stay away from Whirlpool!!! If I have to guess the following will happen: five days from now the fridge will stop working again (when the Freon leaks out - same timeline as previously) and then I have to call for a tech (3-4 days) and the tech will come out, determine that it isnt working. I have another conversation with a supervisor asking for a new fridge and they miraculously agree (yeah I know). Then what two weeks, a month... before I get a new fridge. I anticipate that I will have been without a fridge for 3 months before it is all resolved. Ridiculous is all I can say. Whirlpool should be embarrassed.

I like my dishwasher very much. Because we have hard well water I use Lemi Shine to cut down on any deposits. The top shelf is adjustable so that helps with large pans getting clean.

The washing machine has been through 4 boots. The boot material is so flimsy, that they tear constantly causing water to leak out of the machine. There are times it is minimum water, and other times a lot of water.

I purchased a 40-gal Whirlpool water heater model 40t91-403 last week and paid a plumber to have it installed. The old one (GE 40 gal) worked fine except for a leak. The new one used all of the old connections except the 2-inch in and out pipes. Same connections, hot, cold and gas. At first I got about a quart of hot water and then all cold. Whirlpool changed the valve and cold water pipe (inside the tank) and still the same. They are trying to tell me that the tank is fine - I have a plumbing problem. Two plumbers have told me different, but still they insist. Yes, I am upset. The old GE, even with a leak, performed better!

I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine from PC Richards in Lake Grove 15 months ago. I paid $590.00. I had to call PC Richards back because it sounded like the machine was not spinning right. The servicemen came back and said nothing was wrong. It was supposed to sound like that. Now the machine stopped draining and spinning. I went to the store and they handed me customer service numbers and said they could not help me. I contacted Whirlpool online and received a phone call from a woman that gave me a lesson on how to load the machine and put soap in it! She was a very polite woman, but, gee, that didn’t solve my problem.After 4 days I was able to get through by phone and was told to call service. I contacted Mahler Appliance. He looked at it and said he couldn’t fix it and took a check for $81.47. He told me to call Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool again and got their service people. The gentleman came and could not figure out what was wrong. He tried a few things and said it was probably the main board. He said to call Whirlpool, but they most likely won’t give me back my money. He could charge me $460.00 for a new board per his supervisor. I just paid $590.00 for the machine and another $87.00 to some guy who took advantage. He left with an $87.00 check and I still have a broken washer. He did tighten up a loose wire he said he found and told me to try it and good luck. So I tried it. I put clothes in and turned it on.I came back about 20 minutes later to see if it continued to run and I slipped and fell on the ceramic floor because water drained out from somewhere and went all over my floor. I have injured my back and elbow from hitting the hard floor. I also have water all over the place and finally a very broken defective washer. I am angry. I hurt myself and have spent close to $1000.00 and I still have no working washer and no way to buy another one. The washer is 15 months old. That’s brand new to me. There was obviously a problem from the beginning. Whirlpool has always had a quality name for years. I would hope that they would stand by their product and fix my washer for me. It is obviously defective.

The salesperson was great but we are not happy with our washer. We already had it swapped out once because of white spots showing up on our clothes. The only thing they could think of was that the bleach I used wasnt rinsing out completely so it showed up on our clothes. Recently, I washed a table runner by itself and it had some red in it. Now there are red spots on a couple of items that I washed after the runner. My husband just now asked why there were red spots on a shirt that he wears all the time. I explained. Also, we have had some white spots on clothes and I could scratch it out without leaving a permanent mark. Were no longer using bleach and we use only liquid detergent and all of it is HE. So I dont understand the machine. I hate it.

French Door model WRF989SEAE01 - Fridge runs very loud after 3 weeks. Ice build up inside of fridge - back left. After numerous repairs, dealer replaced unit with new. Three weeks, loud noise again. After 7 months, the ice maker has quit, the freezer is thawing items, the fridge part is not cold enough (all settings have been boosted). Now Im concerned it is going to completely fail or burn our new house down. All new Whirlpool appliances in new home and this thing is proving to be extremely unreliable. Dealer is now out of loop (gave up) and told us to deal directly with Whirlpool. After 2 units and same issues, it has to be a design flaw.Can anyone start to move on a class action lawsuit or do I wait until it blows up or burns down the house? We are of retirement age, no kids, and our appliances have had NO ABUSE. Another acquaintance has same fridge about 2 years old and it has completely quit.

Once again I am disappointed in a product that I felt was of the utmost quality. However after buying in 2010 and not being installed until 2011, the over the oven microwave has a crack on the outside of the door. Two pieces have fallen off from under the plastic rim on the inside of the door, two pieces of the door one on the top right side and the other on the bottom right side have fallen off. All I have to say is the two Whirlpool products I bought at Lowes has been a huge disappointment especially since the other two bought from the same stores are Frigidaires and work beautifully...

We are on our 3rd washer and second dryer in 10 years. Our latest replacement (Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer) was purchased 3 months ago and is already broken and now we have been without a washer for a whole month. Not only do they have issues with the control panel and latch, but they smell. The dryer also had a control panel issue. Trying to get our units fixed presented even more problems and wrong parts would come in, with weeks going by without parts/service. Apologies and sympathies expressed on the phone are not enough. When you buy a matching set and only one breaks, you tend to replace the matching unit, which we regret and we went back and forth with our washer and dryer. I would never recommend a Whirlpool product after this. We finally got a replacement today and due to more poor communication on their end, they could not hook up. My new washer sits in the laundry room, and I hate it before I even get it hooked up.

You have to take into account that this microwave doesn’t heat up as others I’ve had so even if the instructions call for something to be cooked for 5 minutes, you have to add at least 2 minutes more. If not it would be undercooked.

Washer does great job and happy with the results, very well. Appearance of dishes are good and leaving dishes very clean as well, would recommend this dishwasher to anybody. The color is also great and matches up with my stove and refrigerator, making the kitchen look very nice and great approach for other appliances to match.

Updated on 03/15/2020: We bought this eight years ago to replace a 20-year-old Maytag that had finally developed a rust-related leak after serving us faithfully and needing only one almost trivial repair ($10 DIY lid switch replacement) over that period. I have replaced the water pump, the gear case, rotating seal (3 times), the lid switch striker (3 times), and the replacement gear case is making noises indicating incipient bearing failure. In its finite wisdom, Whirlpool decided to make the failure-prone main bearing irreplaceable, which means you have to replace the entire gear case, at a best-case cost of $120 and a worst-case cost of $300, plus labor, unless you do the work yourself, as I do. The secondary issue is mold and a musty odor. The most effective way to eliminate this is to pull the drum (non-trivial, requires a car jack, a 2x4, and a special spanner/wrench) and swab down the inside of the tub with disinfectant. (Been there ... done that three times over 8 years.)Original Review: I am in the process of replacing the bottom seal on my 6-year-old Whirlpool Cabrio (WTW5500XW2) washer. This will be the fourth major repair I have done on it. Fortunately, I can do the work myself and know how to find the best price on parts, but it is still discouraging that a lightly-used washer would have so many problems in such as short time. (It replaced a 20-year-old Maytag that finally rusted out.) Repairs to date: 1) replaced drain pump motor; 2) replaced lid switch; 3) removed basket twice to clean outer tub, due to mold and odors; 4) replaced suspension rods due to excessive spin vibration; 5) out of commission awaiting a new bottom seal. Total cost of parts (labor was on me) is well over $100.

Whirlpool electric range with ceramic cooktop - I have a large black mark on one of the cooktop burners that appears to be beneath the surface of the cooktop. It’s almost within the finish of the burner and unable to be cleaned with cooktop cleaner. I have purchased an extended warranty and arranged for a service call. The repairman came out as scheduled, but informed me after making a phone call to who knows, because he did not tell us that the problem was cosmetic and could not be repaired under warranty. However, if we wanted a replacement cooktop, it would cost almost as much as a new stove. He also said that he had seen many of these ceramic burners with that problem and it was not unusual. All I really want is what is fair, a defect that is not my fault that needs to be replaced. The stove (Whirlpool electric range with ceramic cooktop) was purchased in 2004 and is kept very, very clean.

The washer works well for the age of it. However, I would say it is not designed as nicely as some of the others I have seen. I found it performed okay doing the wash, but it didnt hold up as well I as I would have liked. Seems cheaply made. The machines plastic parts have stained from rust and seem tinny.

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer - The seal on the top of the drum is breaking down. It is cracking at the bleach and soap dispenser. Somewhere in the washer drum or plate is causing holes and cuts in the clothes. The machine is only 2 years old.

I had kenmore in long term until we decided to change the brand Whirlpool. We just saw want to updates to change the color. It was good price on special day. I have no problem with the stove. I like there is size of pots from small to large pot of size.

Just cleaning the outside of our piece of ** oven. Must have hit either the on or off button to lock because the damn thing locked. Tried unplugging it, pushing all the buttons suggested on these websites, etc. Hell, even tried to call Whirlpool, where I just talked to a computer. Lesson learned: Whirlpool wont get our business again. Period.

My wife and I purchased a brand new dishwasher less than a month ago. It stopped working after less than a month. After waiting hours on hold, the service company they sent out, went out of business before the appointment. Now after 3 months of nothing but frustration. I have written many emails and none have been replied back to. Worst customer service ever!! Not not buy Whirlpool or Kitchenaid (same company).

A-10 error on display ultimately means needs a new pump. The washer (model WFC7500VW 2) is 3 months, 9 days old and is now unusable. I cannot get any service (under 1-year manufacturers warranty) because the sticker inside the door with the model and serial # is missing (i.e., it was sold to me by Homedepot.com without a serial # on the door label, sticker is intact and is brand new and apparently was printed without a serial #).I made multiple calls to Whirlpool in Benton Harbor, Michigan and finally spoke with Courtney (who states she was a supervisor) pretty much said all they will do is to reprint a label from the factory and I should have it in 7-10 business days. They refuse to stand behind their product and authorize timely repair of their product they sold to my without a serial # on the door tag from the factory. I have to wait to schedule factory warranty repair until I get the new label (probably 3 weeks plus without a usable washer). Courtney refused to contact me via email for any of her contact information or to supply verification of conversation or promise of a new factory label. Also, she refused to try to authorize any type of manufacturers warranty to fix the brand new unusable washer!

The repairman said the shaft, which of course is one piece with the outer drum, is corroded. Really? Did we not expect water in our washing machine? The repair is $500. After reading all the bazillion complaints on this model (on the internet), I have decided not to repair the piece of junk!

Our Whirlpool Duet Washer pair is 2.5 yrs old. The washer didnt work at first, but a repairman found the problem and fixed it right up. They have not broken. The dryer has been fine and we have had them stacked for most of the time without any issues. My problem sounds minor compared to those others listed here, but this thing is ruining all our white or light colored clothes. They go in white, and come out covered with splotchy, dirty looking spots literally all over them! They werent that kind of dirty when they went in. It’s the oddest thing, like it makes dirt. Reading some of these concerns makes me wonder if it has a mold problem inside somewhere, and that is what is ruining our clothes. Tax return is coming and it is going. End of story.

We bought this at Lowes. Initially, they got the color wrong. It took two trips to get the right color (white) then a third trip because all the parts were not there to install the dishwasher. After a few months the second shelf rail end caps fell apart. Now, after a couple of years the pump goes out. RUN from this manufacturer.

In the last year, I have had to put in two sets of parts to my Whirlpool water heater (thermocouple) within three months in between each malfunction. Now the hot water is out again, and I need to have a plumber come and reapply new parts to the hot water heater. Whirlpool is refusing to send new parts to the less than a year old hot water heater until they speak with my plumber. It was purchased in December 2011. I am a disabled senior citizen, and we have not had hot water in over a week. Meanwhile, the weather is in the teens and has been snowing. I live alone and have not been able to wash dishes, take showers or mop my floor. Being a diabetic, cleanliness is very important to maintain good health. Living on Social Security, I cannot afford to replace my water heater parts every few months and my health cannot afford to not have hot water. I purchased whirlpool Model# WFG540H0ES gas with convection. I purchased it because the price was $1000 dollars less than comparable ovens and even now the price has gone up $300 since I purchased it. I really wanted the luxe look at a discount price, a burner that you could lay a grill over, and five burners which it provided all of those things. I hesitated to buy this oven because the door fell off the last Whirlpool within three years and they refused to fix it so I tried not to buy this brand but it had the amenities I wanted for the price I could afford. I really like the oven. I like the oven the best because it really does make a great cake. I like the two large grates that sit across the oven. It makes it feel high end. If you dont wipe the range immediately grease gets stuck on the range and is hard to clean. This is what I like the least. Im ready to wipe on the weekend and its too late. It took me four days of internet comparison to decide on this one. The house is not painted, the cabinets are falling off the wall literally but I am extremely proud of this oven and it makes me feel affluent even though Im not.

My Whirlpool dishwasher washes dishes well, when it drain but it will not drain. I purchased insurance repair service from AIG. AIG is a total rip off. I paid them over $300. I have called many many times. They promise someone will call but not one ever has. I would never work with AIG or Whirlpool ever again.

I purchased new appliances almost 1year ago to the date. I bought the glass top range with. convection oven. In convection mode, the fan cuts on and off intermittently during bake cycle. Friends who also have the same oven say their fan runs consistently in convection mode. Repairman came out and changed fan and control panel. Still runs intermittently. Apparently that is a feature of “some models”. Had I known it was not continuous convection, I would have purchased a less expensive model without convection feature. It takes longer to cook in that mode.

So far this washing machine has been perfect. Its a top load not front load which I prefer. Im not a big fan of how it locks and I cant throw other stuff in once it started. Other than that Im very satisfied.

This double door ice in door refrigerator works fine, my dissatisfaction is on the stainless doors. I am VERY particular on any smudges or points and I do not LIKE the stainless steel environment appliances promo!

Bought a French door whirlpool gold, wanted a good long lasting fridge. Bought in late 2011. After having it a couple of weeks we noticed the ice maker would take days to make ice. So we called to have it looked at. The repairman said if it is slow, switch it to fast ice. It made ice even slower, but the repair company said if it is making ice, and he comes out, we would be charged. So we lived with it. In 2014 it stopped making ice at all. We called they sent someone out and said it was a control board. They had to order it, and came back a week later to put it in. They left and said we would have ice soon. Never did!!!So we call again, they come out and said no power to ice maker. He called Whirlpool and they said wires in the freezer door were worn and broke. Well the door is non-serviceable and the cost of the door will exceed the price of the fridge! What kind of crap is that!! Long story short I will never buy another whirlpool again, and when I hear of someone buying new appliances I warn them to stay away from whirlpool!!! Run!!!

After advice from your Whirlpool service person, we had fixed it cutout (make whirlpool), but now, its the same fault with the digital board. Kindly take further action regarding this same problem and sort this out immediately without any further reminder.

We have been very happy with our appliances that now over 11 years old and doing well. We love our gas range top. They gave greater and new models so we love Whirlpool and GE. We always get great deals at Home Depot.

Purchased a new home in Florida. Builder used Whirlpool appliances. For a year opening the refrigerator door has caused breakers to trip off. No matter what builder and Whirlpool do, breakers keep tripping. Cannot sell house with this issue. If someone was counting on electricity for a medical device they could die when refrigerator causes power to go out. Unfortunately, it looks like legal action is the only thing that will save our investment in the house.

I purchased a Whirlpool (Cabrio) Washer on March 1 2018. I previously had a Roper top loader with an agitator that was 22 years old. I used that washer for that many years and washed clothes 6 out of the 7 days of the week. Probably at least 20 loads a week. I never had a problem with it getting my clothes wet & clean. It never left them dirtier after washing them than they were before washing them. I am so disappointed in this washer!!! I can see it will not do any good to complain to Whirlpool because apparently they dont care about their customers. They think theyre products are perfect when they are far from it. I plainly told the associate I wash clothes every day. Really dirt clothes. (My son is a mechanic). I need a good washer. I can wash them by hand better than this washer does. I am very thankful I have not paid the full price for this washer yet. I will be calling them to come pick it up when my next payment is due. I will be going to one of the local consignment or thrift stores and purchasing myself an old timey top loader washer with an agitator for $100 or less. Whirlpool I had high hopes with this product and would have been buying a dryer to match soon but I believe I will stick to my Roper products or anything other than Whirlpool.

I owned a Whirlpool water heater and the only thing I have with it is problems! The pilot keeps on turning off. Since I am a 64-year-old lady, I have no idea on how to fix things (widowed). I keep on paying for the plumber to fix it. It started with flooding all my front yard because of a faulty valve. I paid $165.00. After the pilot went off, I paid another bill to fix that. And it turned off and on again (lost count of times). Today, I found another pool of water (the valve again? ). What a piece of work! Please, can you help me? The washing machine must have been designed by a 3-year-old! Whirlpool, youre getting greedy and youre making your products CHEAP! I know this is fact, I have a 15-year-old side by side in my garage made by Whirlpool and it works great! Fire your 3-year-old designer! I will NEVER buy Whirlpool again! I have a Whirlpool GoldSeries dishwasher and I wish I had never bought it. I’ll start with the cons because I don’t think any other dishwasher on the market matches this: After 3.5 years either the motherboard or the motor is trash. It will cost so much to fix it that buying a new dishwasher is a better option. I paid more than $800 for the dishwasher + $200 for the install + $75 for the service call to find out it is garbage. I used it about 2-3 times per week, which adds up to about 455 uses total for the time I used it. This shows that the cost of this dishwasher, without operational cost considered, is $2.36 per load (or $307.14 per year if you prefer). No other appliance I have ever owned was as expensive, over its lifetime, as this dishwasher.Whirlpool customer service was difficult to get a hold of and then obstinate and useless. The dishwasher would stink if it was not cleaned regularly. Pros: It is quiet and it cleans the dishes well. Recommendation: Do not waste your money on this. Many other dishwashers are quiet and clean dishes but not many will be this big or expensive. A disappointment over their lifespan.

After the second year, everything stated to fail. The pump, the main control, even the mounting straps all failed. We are very glad we got the extended warranty. Parts alone have exceeded $400.00. Right now we are dealing with the loads not drying.

I originally purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater in 2005. After numerous problems Whirlpool agreed to replace January 2010. With the new hot water heater, everything was fine for the first two years. Now about every 6 months, we are having the thermocouple and the igniter. Each time you order the part, the part is free but you have to pay $30.00 for shipping. I am tired of dealing with this. We have decided even though we still have a warranty left on the hot water tank we are going to purchase a different one and never ever buy another Whirlpool product. They do not stand behind their products.

My NEW Machine Top loader HUGE drum. Have problems with clothes not looking like they’ve even been washed, Spun so hard they are twisted all to heck. And white stuff - my oxy powder maybe? Not dissolved. My old machine was a Kenmore 30 yrs old. Thought I’d be able to trust whirlpool but not sure. Am I missing something in the loading process. Seems to read something bout not Covering the knob on the bottom. Is this true?

My refrigerator has needed several repairs in the 5 years since purchased new. Several plastic parts (bins, handle, etc...) have cracked and ice maker no longer works. Dont think I would purchase another Whirlpool major appliance if at all possible, as I am deeply dismayed at how this one has held up.

We recently purchased a new Whirlpool refrigerator and washer/dryer set from Home Depot. The truck for delivery was late and unable to pick up the refrigerator in time for scheduled delivery. Whirlpool contacted us to inform that it was now on back order for another week claiming there was nothing else they could do. Strike one. We paid for the installation and kit for the washer and dryer set. The tech who delivered them claimed the kit was not correct and that he could not install the dryer. We contacted Home Depot, Whirlpool, and had Home Depot call Whirlpool on our behalf with no resolution. They will not refund the installation even though they didn’t install anything.Whirlpool will not directly say whether or not they will send someone else out to actually install it this time. To top it off - I asked the Whirlpool rep which kit needs to be used and she told me whichever I want... for a gas hook up... whichever I want. This is ridiculous and Whirlpool has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Side note - don’t waste time on the chat feature they provide. You will be directed back to the 800 number with 30 minute hold times. Horrible company!

I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher from Home Depot on 2/5/2015. It was delivered damaged on 2/9/2015. Home Depot refused to take it back and Whirlpool sent a tech out to see the damage. I told them I did not want a refurbished dishwasher that I paid almost $1000 for. Whirlpool advised Home Depot that the machine can be repaired. Once again I told both whirlpool and Home Depot that I did not want this dishwasher and to pick it up. Home Depot stated that there would be a 15 percent restocking fee along with a $65 to pick up the washer. Why should we have to pay anything? I am so disgusted for the treatment I received.

Whirlpool Refrigerator Model WRX9885IBM01 French Doors - We purchased this $2,000+ dollar refrigerator in December of 2014 and within two weeks of plugging it in, we noticed the freezer drawer was crooked and ice crystals in the freezer compartment. We contacted Whirlpool re the matter and they dispatched a local serviceman. He informed us that the inner lining of the refrigerator was crooked and he contacted Whirlpool. He sent pictures of the crooked drawers and was advised by Whirlpool to adjust the outside door, but nothing could be done for the inside crookedness and that he was to take silicone and seal the refrigerator to prevent air coming in to create the ice... Really? We told him that was merely a Band-Aid to the problems and we wanted a replacement. According to Whirlpool, they can only service our month old refrigerator and cannot replace it.Actually, they cannot even service the defective product they sell, they can only caulk the problem until it comes again. I am not going to stop until everybody in the country buying a refrigerator thinks first about the warranty Whirlpool offers. After reading defective parts, etc., I am amazed they are still in business! We are contacting Lowes to come pick it up! Let them deal with the garbage they are selling!

Refrigerator model WRF560SMYH purchased 22 months ago will not defrost automatically. When ice builds up on the back of the bottom mounted freezer, it creates a terrible noise. Only quiets when we manually defrost the ice with a hair dryer!! 4 service calls from the warranty company has failed to solve the problem.

Dishwasher has had multiple issues in the 4 years of use. - Incomplete cycles - need to call repairman to figure out why the dishwasher does not complete cycles, fills with water but doesnt go into clean cycle - In 2 years had to replace grommet due to leaking water. - Top rack slide rail plastic ends broke needing to purchase both new ones. - Detergent door quit opening - door does not open during entire cleaning cycle.- Design flaw with silverware rack on the door, be careful not to block or silverware will not get cleaned.

The Cabrio is the absolute worst washer that Ive ever owned! No matter what combination of setting I use, my clothes come out dingy, all twisted and wrinkled, and full of lint and detergent residue (I use liquid detergent made specifically for HE washers). Every setting runs for over an hour. So much for high efficiency! What it saves on water it more than wastes on electricity!! More often than not, the entire load becomes enveloped in one of the items to create one huge ball. A t-shirt stretched to encompass the remaining clothes into a perfect sphere! When that happens, some of the laundry in the middle of the big ball is barely damp. The dryer is just as bad, even the towels come out wrinkled. How is that possible? And again, it takes over an hour to dry a load.Whirlpool customer service is awful. When I called to complain, the agent began schooling me on how to wash clothes. Im 66 years old, Ive washed a few clothes in my lifetime and have always prided myself in my white whites and bright colors. I have a new house and the builder provided all the appliances. Based on my past negative experience with Whirlpool products and their customer service, I would not have purchased Whirlpool.

I have had the Whirlpool washer for almost a year. It has multiple settings for different types of laundry, i.e. towels, bedding/bulky, colors. It is intuitive. My husband is able to put laundry in and is able to figure out which cycle to use. The tub is roomy and holds large items well. The dryer I just purchased in the last month or so. It matches my washer and so far I love it. It has very similar settings that match the washer. The lint filter is very effective, cleaning after each load is highly recommended. It dries quickly and is quiet.

Purchased fridge in November. Broke 1st time in May. Design defect that Whirlpool knew about. Repair was to move a part called a thermistor farther away from where ice was building up. Broke again in July. Called for service July 28th. Its now Aug 23rd. Was just told by repair service parts might be in Sept 15th. Had to throw food away twice, missed work 5 times for service calls. Repair company & Whirlpool have done nothing but lie to me. All Whirlpool offered was a $150.00 inconvenience fee. Not even close to what Ive lost. Never even received that & now they wont return calls. Talked to 5 different people at Whirlpool, including supervisors. All said they would call me back, but didnt. Keep leaving messages & they just ignore & dont call back. Still no fridge. Want my money back or a new fridge at this point.

I was very excited about the performance of the washer as far as reduced water usage and reduced electric usage. After about 6 months though, I couldnt figure out why a lot of clothes, sheets and drapes came out with streaks on them. Very expensive to replace! Of course, the business I bought them from tried to get me to buy all types of fixes that had nothing to do with the problem and therefore couldnt answer me why this was happening. I am not crazy about a lengthy lawsuit. I am crazy about hoping the washer dies so I can go back to a less fancy washer that did the job better than this expensive monster!

In August of 2008 I purchased a Whirlpool Amana refrigerator, Model# ABR2227FES. It worked great for exactly 6 years. In Aug of 2014, the motherboard needed to be replaced as it was not forcing a defrost when needed. I tried to get a refund on the cost of the part and labour but both were refused. In Dec 2016, just two and half years after the motherboard was replaced, the exact same problem re-occurred. Again I tried to get a refund on the cost of the part and labour but both were refused. Will I be buying this refrigerator in the future? A definite no!!!

Efficient. I like the look and the controls. I trust the Whirlpool brand, but have purchased other brands. This is probably the best dishwasher I have owned. My only regret is that it is louder than expected.

If it were not for the fact that this refrigerator has a defect that Whirlpool has recognized and is replacing the unit for, I would give the unit 5 stars in all areas. I would buy another Whirlpool due largely to the companys willingness to recognize a problem and promptly take corrective action.

Quiet running, does a great job cleaning and drying the dishes, experienced some cloudiness on the glassware but found that if I position them in the middle of the upper rack that issue was solved.

We bought a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator in September 2009 for $898, which was a lot then. Last fall the ice maker jammed and started dumping ice in the floor. Yesterday, we noticed that things in the freezer werent solid. After checking, we found our frozen food had thawed and things in our fridge werent very cold either. We called Whirlpool which was no help. Then we called a repair man who told us, “There was a leak in the seal system and it was low on freon. Would have to replace a compressor, evaporator and it would be better and cheaper to just buy a new refrigerator. It has just turned 4 years old. I called Whirlpool again and they said they didnt know why it went bad. I said is it a recall or just a bad refrigerator. The girl was no help at all; I kept asking to talk to a tech and finally asked for their corporate office address which she said was 553 Benson Rd., Benson Harbor, Mich. 49022. I now have to buy a new refrigerator and it will not be a Whirlpool.

We have had a GX5fhdxvy 07 Whirlpool Gold French door fridge with bottom freezer that is approximately 4 years old. Since the first 6 months of use, so 3.5 years now, we have had continual problems with a flat sheet of ice on the bottom of the freezer which then builds up and leaks all over our floor. Twice I have slipped, once banged my big toe to the point of cracking my big toenail and bleeding profusely, and the second time I slipped on my butt and really hurt my back. This is of real concern as one of my children has Cerebral Palsy and autism and could really hurt himself in our kitchen. We originally called while it was still under warranty and the technician said that we will need to learn how to defrost the tube that seems to be getting built up with ice. Thats the only way to fix it. We thought it meant fix it for a long period of time. After several months of this re-occurring problem, we realized that this is something you need to do very frequently, meaning several times a week. We have had no help from Whirlpool, they tell us that essentially it is our problem. They didnt even offer to provide parts. They were not interested in our problems and just asked us if we wanted to pay for a service call, and that was it. Now but what kind of service is this?? Clearly, after researching these products, this is a design flaw and a lot of consumers have complained about the the same issues. You would think that Whirlpool would have the decency and the business smarts to create a recall to solve consumers issues.Unfortunately, I am not able to purchase a new unit. This was an expensive purchase as it was… and we have absolutely no resolution to the problem. I have to say that after our injuries in our household, eventually someone will slip and do some serious permanent damage to their body or even worse, fall and sustain a head injury and perhaps even die. And although this may seem like a far fetched comment, it really isnt out of the realm of possibility at all! How long does it take for a manufacturer to respond to a flaw in their design??

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet front load washing machine Model #WFW9550WL in July 2009. In July 2016, the guide on the door hinge broke, making the machine unusable. When performing a national search for the part number (#8183202) to replace the broken hinge, I found that there were none available anywhere in the United States. When talking to Whirlpool, they indicated that during 2015, they only sold 142 of this part, and were currently looking for a new manufacturer for the part. They further indicated that the part would not be available until late September or early October of this year.

Whirlpool Cabrio top loading washer model WTW6800WW1 - I bought this washer 3 years ago. It cost me about $900. It has become very loud. I had the repairman here yesterday fixing my dryer. When he heard the washer, he told me the bearings are gone and its just a matter of time before the machine dies. To fix it involves a total rebuild of the motor, about $600! WTF! This is my 3rd washer in 19 years. There is something seriously wrong with appliance manufacturers. They no longer care about their reputations, and just produce crap! Expensive crap! Needless to say, I am now shopping for our 4th machine, which will be a Speedqueen basic washer with a 3-year warranty!

When you purchase a Cabrio high efficiency washer dont expect clean clothes! But, you can expect holes, torn and, smelly clothes. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to wash. The machine I purchased has a glass top but its dark and you cant see into the machine so that was a waste of money! If you wash clothes in 1/4 depth of water, nothing gets clean. Who even designed this disaster? I had enough common sense to know it was going to be bad but the salesman at Lowes informed me that ALL washers were high-efficiency and getting a tub full of water days are over. I wish we wouldve just paid for repair and kept my old washer. I hate doing laundry with this machine! I use to be able to wash my blankets, pillows, curtains, throw rugs, even car mats with no problems. Not anymore! This machine couldnt handle it. You ought to see my sheets and shirts when theyre done. They come out twisted up so tight I have to untangle them before they go to dryer. What a horrible nightmare of a machine! If we were not out so much money Id send this machine to the junkyard and get a real washer with realistic amounts of water! How are you saving anything when clothes require 2 times to get somewhat clean??? If youre reading this and considering a high-efficiency washing machine, DONT DO IT!! You will regret it. Im counting the days when I can junk mine!

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio a few months ago. Every time we do a load of laundry, the clothes are not getting cleaned. Dark colored clothing, including grey clothing, comes out of the washer with white residue, streaked all over the clothes. We have to rub the residue into the clothes to make it go away. If we attempt to dry it and do not get the residue scrubbed off the fabric, when the clothes get dried, there are white streaks in the clothes. This is extremely frustrating. We spend a lot of time getting the residue rubbed into the fabric every time we do a load of laundry.The local appliance store has told us that perhaps we are using too much soap. We have used nothing but the high efficiency soap, as recommended by Whirlpool, and have reduced the amount of soap per their suggestion. It is now to the point where we are using hardly any soap at all, in the hopes that we would not have to spend 30 minutes working on the clothes after every load. That has not worked. The white residue is still all over the clothes, and since we are using less soap, I dont think our clothes are actually getting cleaned.When we wash a load of whites, they arent getting cleaned at all, even when we use bleach. In fact, when I compare brand new undergarments with recently bought undergarments that have been washed a few times, the ones that have been washed a few times are noticeably different in color, they are actually starting to turn grey in color.I have used Affresh in the washing machine, per the manufacturers suggestion, numerous times. We had thought maybe that was the problem. But even the load right after the Affresh treatment leaves the white residue or does not get the clothes cleaned.This washing machine was close to $700.00, and I feel that for that amount of money, I should be able to expect clean clothes. I have never had a problem with a Whirlpool product before, so I had no qualms about purchasing this washing machine. At first, I thought maybe it just needed to get broken in, that it would stop leaving the residue after it had been used a few times. However, that has not been the case. I have tried everything I can think of to improve the performance of this washing machine, but nothing helps.When I contacted the local appliance store to complain, they suggested I cut back on the soap. I told them that I had tried that and it didnt work. They told me to use Affresh, I told them I did that. I asked them if they would take the washing machine back; let me trade it in for something else. I would even be willing to get a cheaper washing machine, I just wanted something that worked. They told me they couldnt do that. Even though I was still under warranty, unless it was broke, they couldnt do anything, and even then, all they could do would be to try to fix it. They couldnt take it back and give me a different washing machine.The experience I have had with this washing machine is the worst experience I have ever had with an appliance. I had always thought of Whirlpool as a trusted brand for appliances, but if this washing machine is any indication of how they now makes appliances, I will never buy another one of their shoddy products again; and you can guarantee I will be telling my friends, family, and coworkers not to buy Whirlpool products either.

Purchased Model # wtw5000DW0 Jan 3, 2015. Aug 15, 2015 started leaking water. Certified technician came to repair. Aug 17 - new transmission. Sept 3 replaced new transmission with another new transmission. Sept 8 called master technician at Whirlpool, needs new clutch assembly. Both technicians stated they dont know what is wrong with the machine. Sept 10 new clutch assembly and agitator replaced. The machine still makes a horrible grinding noise and is unusable. The technician has replaced everything but Whirlpool says it is still fixable. The Master technician has no idea what is wrong with my machine yet he refuses to call it broken. I have been without a washing machine for 3 1/2 weeks. They refuse to offer a return authorization number. I have spoken to a Supervisor on the phone. She states the warranty is for repair. They wont admit their product is a piece of garbage. They have lost a customer. She stated she will put my complaint in a file.

Talked to tech & checked the manual for testing the thermocouple on my natural gas water heater. Everything checked out fine but pilot wouldnt stay lit. Tested thermal switch.... everything. They said replace the valve/thermostat. Still no dice. Turns out the thermocouple was cracked on the inside near the burner assembly & would give passing readings on the voltmeter 9 out of 10 times. If you have any pilot problems, replace the thermocouple first. Was only 10 bucks. I keep a spare now. Dont forget to vacuum any dust from the fine mesh screen on the very bottom. Fresh air supply.

We purchased a new Whirlpool dishwasher in June of 2014. By February 2015 the racks were rusting. I called loses warranty and they referred me to Whirlpool since it was still under a year old and covered by the manufacturer warranty. They said no problem and would have new ones sent out. Three months later I still did not get them. I called them back and they said that they were not covering them due to rust being normal. This is the absolute worst customer service and it says a lot about how Whirlpool stands behind their products.

Machine just will not clean clothes. Model Cabrio W10560169A. Company offered NO support. This washer retails for around $1,000 and just does not work!

I purchased a Whirlpool front loader as well as an extended warranty. The machine worked well for about a year and a half until i noticed rust patches beginning to form on the front of the machine. We contacted the retailer that we purchased it from and they suggested that we call the people that we had bought the warranty from. Unfortunately, the warranty does not cover rust, so we have to wait for it to rust out and just buy another one. It is only 2 and a half years old and is totally rusted across the front of the machine! It is extremely unsightly. This is the second Whirlpool washer that we have bought and the second one to rust out on us. I would never buy another Whirlpool appliance, and extended warranties are not worth the paper they are written on, let alone the amount that you pay for them!

I cant even tell you how disappointed I am. This washer has destroyed my clothes and towels. Ive tried to reach out to company but they want me to call for service. What would I call for? Washer works, it just makes holes in clothes, in towels. There are so many complaints about this. If anyone know how to begin a process like this, please let me know. Trust me, when I write a review about something, its got to be either really good or really bad. I dont have time to write things like this.
