Our 4 year old Cabrio top loading washer failed. Apparently there is an engineering design issue with the pump and tub assembly causing the machine to not complete its spin cycle. These items will typically fail between two to four years of operation. We paid $1,000 for what we thought was a high end machine from Whirlpool. After having a local repair company diagnose the issue, we were told by Whirlpool we must use their authorized service companies. After 6 weeks of waiting for service, parts and several trips to the laundromat, we had the repairs completed by Whirlpools authorized service provider. Within one week, our machine failed again, called Whirlpool and they said will not help us. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!!!

I bought a whirlpool washer because we thought it was the best. It does not clean our clothes especially my husbands jeans. They are on their third wash at this minute. I use Gain HE detergent. I bought clorox 2, I use spray & wash & I have even started using a little clorox but the red dirt still doesnt come out. I never had this problem with my old washer. If there is any help for me here please let me know. If this is supposed to be a water saver I dont see how I have saved any after washing jeans for the third time. If they are not clean this time, I guess he will wear them dirty.

I have a Whirlpool dryer for about 8 years. The lint catcher has some holes so I called the 1800 phone no. that I got from the dryer and order the part. That happened in May 18 - I pay for it. I have been told that I will receive the part in 5-7 days. Today, Aug. 27, I called see what really happen with my part. Well I have been transferred from a department to another. I waited over an hour on the phone. No employee can find my order in the system and hey keep on telling me that I did not order! In the end, the order have been found. They told me that the part has been in the back order and I will receive it on 9/12/2014 - 3 weeks away adding up to 4 mo since I order and my credit card was charged. I cancelled the order> I really do not want to deal with Whirlpool ever again. I am happy to pay for a new dryer - some other brand and put in the garbage the Whirlpool - for a lint catcher and bad customer service.

I purchased a washer, dryer and refrigerator from Sears and it has been a terrible experience! The fridge broke twice, the dryer broke twice, and the washer broke around four times! I was told that since they fixed it last time for free, this repair was on me! If all the items didnt break numerous times, I would not be upset. But for all the items to break so many times, thats telling me that I shopped at the wrong store! The Whirlpool Cabrio sucks! So, I was told by Sears on 8/1/11 to ** it up!

I love the way the clothes are clean when I wash them. I also love how well they are rung out when I get them out of the washer to be put into the dryer. The washing time isn’t too long either as compared to other washers I’ve used where it took almost an hour to wash and the clothes didn’t seem as clean.

Whirlpool electric range with ceramic cooktop - I have a large black mark on one of the cooktop burners that appears to be beneath the surface of the cooktop. It’s almost within the finish of the burner and unable to be cleaned with cooktop cleaner. I have purchased an extended warranty and arranged for a service call. The repairman came out as scheduled, but informed me after making a phone call to who knows, because he did not tell us that the problem was cosmetic and could not be repaired under warranty. However, if we wanted a replacement cooktop, it would cost almost as much as a new stove. He also said that he had seen many of these ceramic burners with that problem and it was not unusual. All I really want is what is fair, a defect that is not my fault that needs to be replaced. The stove (Whirlpool electric range with ceramic cooktop) was purchased in 2004 and is kept very, very clean.

On 2-26-13 I received my new Whirlpool Refrigerator, Model WRF989SDAE, KSN 4191832, 28.6 cu ft, french door for a price of $2500.00. November 2014, refrigerator stopped working. Though it was not under warranty any longer, the repair company advised me that the problem was a warranty item and repaired it at no charge. This process took several hours of work by the repairman and two visits. He advised that this is an issue with the refrigerator and Whirlpool is aware. Now, May 2015, only 6 months later, ice is building up on the back wall of the freezer and the freezer is running constantly and very loud. Bringing in repair person, hopefully before it stops again. Appears to be related to the initial issue. I cannot trust this refrigerator and would highly advise everyone not to purchase a Whirlpool refrigerator. Refrigerator needs to be replaced, not repaired.

Whirlpool White Ice gas range with aqualift technology. Whirlpool uses a self-cleaning technology called AquaLift to clean the oven. It does not work. It does not clean the oven no matter how many times you run the cycle. I have contacted Whirlpool 3 times and they did respond. They first suggested buying their oven cleaner. I purchased the oven cleaner and it did not work! They then said that aqualift will only clean the bottom of the oven (it does not). Who buys a brand new oven that does not have a self-cleaning feature? I read reviews online prior to buying this oven and unfortunately for me, there were no bad reviews. However, I just checked again and there are numerous reviews stating that aqualift technology did not work for them either. This oven bakes but it does not clean and Whirlpool will tell you not to use oven cleaners in your gas oven because they will damage the surface of the oven. I currently have a very dirty oven and no effective way to clean it! Do not buy this oven if you want a self-cleaning oven. This oven should be recalled and money refunded. I would never knowingly buy an oven that does not self-clean. This Whirlpool with Aqualift is not effective and the company had to test this before it was marketed. I do not know which brands to recommend at this point as I am stuck with a Whirlpool gas oven that does not self-clean. The oven is only 1.5 years old so I will be stuck with this oven for a few years. Do extensive research before you buy any appliance.

I have a 1 year old Whirlpool washing machine (Model: WFW94HEXSW Serial:C04151969). The grease from the drum is found to be the cause of clothes being ruined during the wash cycle. I waited over 3 months for a replacement. The drum arrived broken. I ordered again, and it was then said to be on back order. The water shut off developed a slow leak, causing the water to fill, and flow out the front door, causing carpet damage. We have been forced to throw away good clothes, and pay to have our clothes washed, at a not so local laundromat. We feel it would be more than reasonable to have our washer replaced, and professionally installed immediately.

I had my old agitating washer for 8 yrs that went out. I liked Whirlpool so decide to try their washer. Found the Cabrio washer (SWS5000WO) and thought without the agitator it would give me more room for clothes to wash better. Boy was I wrong, no matter what cycle or what size load it is off balance on the very first spin. I have to stay near by to stop the washer before the first spin adjust the load and start over again. Jeans and towels are impossible to clean. It throws the tub so bad it has pushed the side out. I have checked the balancing rods and they are fine. After reading other complaints realize the Cabrio washers are terrible. I will be looking for a refurbished washer with an agitator and doubt I will buy Whirlpool again. They should have a recall on these machines. They are terrible.

Weve had our Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer just over a year. I like them both but then we are having problems with our lid. The first one cracked after 9 months and they replaced the lid. Two months later, the new one cracked and they replaced the hinges and lid again. I assure you we are very careful when lowering and lifting the lid. I do 80% and my husband does 20%, and we are very cautious of it especially after the second one broke. Now, I was just putting laundry in and the third one cracked while lifting the lid. There is obviously a problem, and Im wondering if anyone else is having the same issues. Eventually, it will crack all the way through which will cause the glass to pop up and the lid wont lock. I will not buy anything with a glass lid again!

Purchased my first Whirlpool refrigerator, model WRF989SDAM00, in 2012. Six service calls later, Whirlpool replaced it with the same exact model. I am now on my 4th service call with the 2nd refrigerator because of dripping ice maker, fan going out in freezer, condensation continually dripping on everything in the refrigerator. Finally, last week, I had enough & wrote certified letters to Whirlpools corporate offices, the service company they sent out to fix it, which was a nightmare by the way and the Better Business Bureau. I am still without a working refrigerator after two months!!!This is two lemons that Whirlpool has sold me in less than two years and the service has been horribly unacceptable!!! I am at my wits end. Today I wrote to the Attorney General. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy this model refrigerator!! It has been a nightmare!! !

I have owned the Whirlpool Cabrio for one year now. I cannot express enough what a complete waste of money this machine is. It literally does not wash clothes in even the most basic interpretation of washing. Clothes are almost in the same position as when they were put in the machine. Dont even bother with stain removal, it just rubs stains in and makes them worse. Seriously beware. Very expensive and not worth one dime. Im replacing with the Maytag. I should have stayed with in the first place. I will NEVER buy Whirlpool again. Must have skipped the entire product development on this one. I wouldnt even give it a one star review but the submission wouldnt process without it. WASTE OF $$ DO NOT BUY.

I own a top two door refrigerator cabinet with a middle drawer meat cooler and a pull-out out lower chest freezer. The ice maker is built into the door and it is a very simple to operate and stable appliance. The refrigerators space is very functional and flexible for your food storage.. We have moved it 3 times and never had a problem. It is my wifes favorite appliance and fits our needs perfectly without a lot of bells and whistles. The ice maker filter is easy to change and the ice maker itself is super reliable. The model number is WRX735SDBM00. We have been Maytag and Whirlpool appliance owners forever because of their reliability and the ease of used to clean them.

Whirlpool duet steam
Whirlpool duet steam model: WFW9750WW00Serial: CSY3601165Please see attached the pictures of our washer that was purchased without a top counter balance from HH Gregg in May of 2010. We were told by the extended warranty technician when he came to diagnose the machine on 6/24/13 that the bearing and basket were bad. He ordered the parts and returned on 7/2 to repair the machine. Upon taking it apart, he discovered the top counter balance was missing and was the reason that the bearing and other parts had failed. I will include pictures of the plastic that the counter balance should have been attached to. You can see there are no screw holes or scuffs on the plastic. It was suggested by one of the customer service agents, Kitty in TN, that we remove the counter balance. Per Kitty, Because had it come from the factory like that, it would have walked all over the laundry room and not worked right since the first day. Honestly, we have scuffs all over our walls and my husband just thought the legs needed adjusted or it wasnt sitting properly on the pedestal. We have never owned a front load washer, so we didnt know what to expect. The washer sits in a very tight space under the cabinets, but will walk in the middle of the floor especially before we installed the pedestal. The top counter balance was ordered on 7/2 and we were told it would arrive and be installed today. The technician called me at 10:55AM today and stated the package had not arrived. We are asking Whirlpool for a replacement washer as the one we purchased brand new came from the factory defective. We have been told a solid NO. Upon further inspection of the machine while taking pictures, I noticed that the bottom counter balance is cracked clear through as well. Im attaching pictures of that. I did speak with Laticia in MI. She was VERY nice and more empathetic than the other 6 or so people we have spoken with at Whirlpool customer service. She was professional, helpful and I hope who Whirlpool would want representing their company and brand. We feel Whirlpool sold us a faulty machine and they should replace it. We have been told by them that they are sending the parts as a GOODWILL gesture, and will have the parts installed. Now after the whole inside of it is shot and possibly the motor and boards, thats awesome. We are now an LG/Samsung family. This was our 3rd and last set of appliances from Whirlpool. When the rest of these die, we will replace with another brand. How sad that what once was a great company, and I grew up with my mom and grandma thinking there was no other brand to use beside Whirlpool, now we are left washerless for 3 weeks. They refuse to stand behind a mistake that was made in the factory. Ive read these are made in Germany. Maybe Whirlpool needs to bring jobs back to the US and improve their quality control.

I bought a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator four years ago, June 2012. Today, 9/20/16, I found out that the ice maker has to be replaced to the tune of $350! The repair person told me that Whirlpool has the worst track record, and of his service calls, he has at least three to five Whirlpool refrigerators per week! This is a terrible lack of quality. When youre spending over $2,000 for a refrigerator, you expect it to work for more than four years. Not only that, but I have e-mailed Whirlpool Customer Service twice and have been ignored completely. This is my last Whirlpool product, and I urge you to stay away from them. Samsung has a much better track record.

The inside glass of the oven door shattered. I have not used the oven for months. Only the the top cooking burners have been used. Its a mystery to me!! I have read complaints where the glass shattered while the oven was in use or being cleaned, but have found none where this happened to a cold oven. The large front burner is too hot. Even on the lowest setting everything burns. You cannot simmer, only boil. The control knobs have (in my opinion) no safety mechanism. I thought that the control knobs on stoves needed to be child proofed, hard for a child to turn on. My last stove you had to push down quite hard then turn to the setting. Not this stove. I have to be so careful when Im cleaning the area around the knobs. The slightest pressure and the knob turns. When I first purchased the stove while cleaning it, I unknowingly turned the knob and the kitchen filled with gas before I realized what had happened. I called Whirlpool thinking something was broken. They sent out a repairman. Nothing was broken. That is the way it is made. Customer Service said they had had no other complaints about the knobs. I find that hard to believe. My toddler grandchild can turn on the stove with ease. Im sure other concerned parents etc. have had this complaint. To sum it up... I will probably never purchase a Whirlpool product again.

I purchased a Model WRF989SDAB01 Whirlpool refrigerator with the French doors and had it delivered in March 2014. The evaporator developed a refrigerant leak in May 2015. Whirlpool said it was not their problem since it was over a year since I bought it. The technician said this is a problem with this model. I am having it repaired under the extended warranty that I bought. One of my concerns is that the unit has two evaporators so the other one will probably start leaking any time. What a piece of junk. Dont buy Whirlpool. Their quality and service stinks!

I purchased a dishwasher and hooked it up. The reason I install products myself is I dont like people in my house. I dont know if they are there to help or inventory what they plan to rob from me later. It did not drain so I called Whirlpool who said that I probably hooked it up wrong. Whirlpool said that they would send a service man but if it was hooked up wrong I would have to pay for the service. The service man did arrive and had tattoos all over his neck and arms. (A tear drop would have confirmed that he was a murderer). The machine was hooked up correctly, the water pump was not working at all. The service company that Whirlpool contracted took 3 day to order the part. Yes three day to even order the part. Then another 10 days to get the part in. I called Whirlpool and they did not seem to care at all. My thought is, I am out $599 plus tax, and I have to wait 2 weeks to get my machine fixed, plus I have to take hours off work to wait for the service man and now I have to worry about the service man breaking into my house and robbing me and Whirlpool doesnt care. They should have to pay for the time I was off work and for the interest I lost on the money not being in my account during that two weeks. Whirlpool didnt care at all though. Worst customer service ever. Used to be that Made in America was something good. Not anymore thanks to companies like Whirlpool. Made in America = Garbage!!

I had ancient appliances (refrigerator, microwave, range, and dishwasher) that were all mismatched and were in the house when I purchased it in the mid 1990s. I saved up my money and even though my old appliances were working fine, I wanted stainless steel and everything to match so I decided to go ahead and replace my refrigerator, microwave, range, and dishwasher. I decided on Whirlpool since the company has been making appliances for many years and I thought they made a good product. I bought those appliances in 2012.In 2015, the microwave started to malfunction. At first, it would light up and act as though it was working, but it wasnt. I had it repaired - they said it was a fuse - and the fuse repair cost me about $75.00. It worked for about 2-weeks. I called the repair guy back and they didnt charge me, thinking it was something they did wrong when they fixed it. This time it worked for about a week when it went out again. Not wanting to miss any more work waiting on a repair guy, I went to Lowes and bought a pack of the appropriate microwave fuses and replaced the fuse myself. This time it worked about three weeks - I noticed it was popcorn that seemed to kill the microwave. I finally gave up repairing it when I used up all the fuses in the pack from Lowes. I bought a GE Microwave and it has been a dream. It does a better job all around and looks a lot better than the Whirlpool. I no longer have matching appliances but at least they work! But thats not all. Now the Whirlpool refrigerator has been slowly dying. It has been groaning and creaking since I had it installed but it has gotten so loud that I have to sleep with white noise so that it doesnt wake me up. Yesterday, I took out a Drumstick ice cream cone from the freezer - they are the cones that have chocolate covered ice cream with nuts. I bit into the chocolate coating and the ice cream all spilled out like milk! Looks like Whirlpool struck again and I am not even going to bother to repair it. I just hope I dont get food poisoning until I can get it replaced. And...the dishwasher. Well, it wont dispense the Jet Dry liquid if I fill up the reservoir. I have to fill it only half way or it wont work. I had to use an eyedropper to get the tank down to half. It doesnt really get the dishes clean either. My 20+ year old one I got rid of was 100% better than this Whirlpool dishwasher.Luckily, I hardly ever use the range...and when I do, its a burner or two so I havent had any problem with it yet. I am thinking of replacing it anyway simply because I dont want - ever - anything that says Whirlpool in my home. I was so excited when I decided to buy new appliances. I was finally going to have something new and nice in my home...or so I thought. Instead I wasted my money and got aggravation instead of joy. I dont know about others but I will never buy Whirlpool appliances again- never ever. And now I feel like my money was stolen from me -- and my joy definitely was stolen.

We purchased a Cabrio washer in August 2013, in early August 2014 we noticed that it was not getting all of the detergent out of the clothes (noticed it on the dark clothes after drying). We use less than the recommended amount of HE detergent and dilute it in the dispenser, also always use the extra rinse. We just had a Sears service man out at a $100 cost only to find out that he gets these calls all of the time and the machine is operating at the factory settings. After reporting the problem to Whirlpool all I got was we are sorry and a link to how to operate the washer. In the demonstration video it clearly shows that the water level never covers the clothes. I know Im old school but in my opinion the water should cover the clothes so it can properly wet and agitate the items in the washer. To say I am less than satisfied is a gross understatement. Im out the cost of the washer plus an additional $100 and after a year of ownership and contacting Whirlpool less than a week after the factory warranty ran out all I get is an Im sorry you do not know how to operate a washer.

The control panel is difficult to use. It’s much too easy to switch power from the top oven to the bottom oven without knowing it. In addition, the plastic cover over the control panel makes it difficult to use especially if your fingers have flour or oil on them. It would be much easier and more accurate if knobs were used to control the all the functions instead of a electronic screen. Also, the clock has never operated accurately. Always runs fast. Temperature of the ovens is pretty accurate. However, it does take a long time to reach chosen temperature. Both ovens are large and able to handle an 18 inch round pizza dish. Other than the control panel, I’m pleased with both the gas stove top and both electric ovens.

We have had the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer for 4 years now. Let me start off by saying the first 6 months was wonderful. Then after that, the machines were breaking down every time we turned around at the worst times. With 2 adults and 4 children, you see my point. We have had a repairman at our house to fix these machines 6 times and now, we are getting a code on our washer that is F1. Looking up codes online shows to be the computer system of the machine and a $400-$600 repair, might I add. Please save your money and buy a better and more dependable set than Whirlpool. Washers and dryers used to last 20-25 years, or so my parents and grandparents did. All of the manufacturers are building cheap junk so we can buy them more often.

I have had the machine pair (Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum) for almost 4 years
I have had the machine pair (Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum) for almost 4 years and up until a few months ago I LOVED the washer. I was advised when I bought the machine to make sure to read the manual, which was very helpful in learning to use it properly. I have never had residue on my dark clothing or ever had the clothes come out partially dry. I use liquid HE detergent nothing powder goes in the machine. I also read many reviews before buying it and a got some advice from them. I have washed king size comforters with no problems. Everything has always cleaned very well. The only issues I have are that when bleach was used in a previous cycle. Ive had a problem with the bleach not being fully dispensed and ending up in the next load. Fortunately it was just towels and not darks!!! Although, I had just bought the towels and now they look tie died which was very upsetting to me. I learned to add water to the bleach dispenser to dilute it and that issue seemed to dissipate. BUT NOW... I COULD THROW A TANTRUM. I PAID 1800+ FOR THE PAIR AND THE WASHER IS SHOT!!! A pretty common problem with the Cabrio from what Ive read. It started by making a very loud noise when spinning, like a helicopter was landing in my laundry room! I continued using it, I even thought the sound was getting better after I did the clean cycle. The last load I did would not complete the cycle because it kept reading that it was unbalanced and unfortunately it was a load of heavy wet towels. I was far from happy when I had to remove them and go to a Laundromat. Needless to say its the bearings and to fix its very costly. I cant even fathom that a less than 4 year old machine needs to be repaired and the cost is roughly half of what I paid for it!!! I do know I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool. What happened to making things to last??? Next machine I will definitely get extended warranty. I can honestly agree with all the other reviews... THIS MACHINE IS HORRIBLE!!!

The machine was leaving spots on my clothes from day one (was told it was my detergent)! The machine started making strange noises and not cleaning clothes. It was coming out worse than they went in the machine! I called on Oct. 10th, 2011 to complain. They told me my warranty was up! I had to pay $234.83 to order F7E1 activator and pay repair. Bought unit from Lowes in july 2017. Shortly after icicles started forming on the roof of the freezer near where the door & frame meet. Called authorized service repair company to have them check out. Tech knew right away what was wrong. Appears Whirlpool has the parts made in China & then assembled in the USA. China has overfilled the freezer door with insulation warping the door. This makes the door seal sag on the bottom & pull away on the right side. No way to repair. Was told they need to order a new freezer door.Weeks later I get a call that Whirlpool cannot get a door replacement!!! Said they will give Lowes a store credit. The floor model at Lowes has the same defect. When Lowes ordered a replacement unit they opened the packing & found that this unit has the same defect. I am replacing with a Frigidaire! Where is the quality control at Whirlpool. Anyone at Whirlpool who puts these units together could not help but see this defect - but ignores it & ships it out anyway. Thats what you get from farming stuff out to China. No excuse on Whirlpools part. Maybe Trump can save Whirlpool.

I have not had any problems with my Whirlpool refrigerator. It is four years old and has had two owners, including myself. It has the stainless steel look and has top to bottom french doors, one side is the freezer and the other the refrigerator. Both sides are equally the same size. So according to the manual, the gas valve/thermostat must have gone bad. I called the company and they gave me a name of the contractor but asked me to pay for the labor cost. We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (Mod #WTW7300XW1) and Dryer in 2011. Ever since we have had the washer it has eaten clothing, towels, sheets etc. It now has a main bearing that is so noisy that we have to close the door to the laundry room to be able to hear in the rest of the house. Also the sealed tank around the drum is now leaking. We invested close to $1000.00 in this washer and in my opinion it is a piece of junk. The washer repairman told me that he has had 3 (three) other Cabrios with the same problem in the last month, but Whirlpool says that there is nothing they can do as they have had no issues with this problem. I am a very unhappy owner of a Whirlpool Cabrio Model: wtw5640xw0 & matching Dryer. About 4 years ago, my husband chose to replace our 11 year-old Maytag Performa Washer & Dryer instead of fixing a part that needed to be replaced in the Washer. I was upset with the very first load of laundry in the Cabrio and I was extra upset that my husband had junked my perfectly awesome working Performa Dryer. )-: First of all, the Cabrio set is Extremely LOUD! Secondly, I often have to wash loads more than once because they do not get clean the first time. Next, the Washer is Always knocked off balance. Ive resorted to using the settings on the Washer with the low spin every time, no matter how light the load. And, now there is something wrong with the lid lock mechanism (which has always sucked anyway), but this is a new problem... I was just checking on the internet to try to figure it out when I stopped to write this review. The lid will not lock & the lid lock light wont go off, so the Washer wont do anything at all! I can not express enough what a piece of junk this Washer is & Im never going to allow my husband (who doesnt even do the laundry) to choose my Washer & Dryer again!

I ordered this Whirlpool 29 cu.ft. white french door refrigerator online from Goedeckers on April 26, 2013. Delivered May 15, 2013. Ever since we got it, there was a frost buildup in left back of ref. Also ice would fall out of dispenser all by itself. Also a buildup of ice under ice bin. Water would also drip from dispenser. We thought maybe since it was new these problems would go away. But they just got worse. I called Whirlpool & they sent out tech on 8/12/13. He told me Whirlpool has a problem with these refrigerators & would order parts. Well after 3 times of cancelling repairman due to parts on backorder, I told repair I would call when parts come in. I keep calling Whirlpool & keep hearing parts are on backorder, saying parts will be in in 7 days. I call back in 7 days and hear the same lies. Its a shame that they cant get parts in knowing that there is a major problem. It sounds like a real quality control problem. I really pride myself on buying American made but Whirlpool is not helping my case for buying American made. It would be nice if they offered to replace it being they cant seem to find parts.

I purchased this Whirlpool, model YGY397LXUQ04, electric range in midsummer 2011 and used it very infrequently for approximately 5 months as we were away for 6 months during the winter. On approximately June 15, 2012, we found that the keypad would only register 350 deg. F for the oven if we pushed the bake button two times and the oven temperature would go up to 550 deg; F if we pushed the 7 button 3 times. In discussion with the service manager from Whirlpool, he advised that the stove was out of warranty and they would supply parts at no cost but we would have to pay the labor costs which in my estimation would cost over $200. After searching the internet for similar problems, it was evident that this problem was not uncommon. I am concerned about the quality of this product and if it can possibly be a fire hazard. I would not recommend this product as the quality, possible safety issues and reliability are a significant concern.

These are supposed to be high efficiency appliances, but the washer has never cleaned the clothes well and the dryer often has to be run more than once in order to get the clothes dry. I purchased a Whirlpool bottom freezer refrigerator for my wifes birthday because my old one was old, ugly, rusted and didnt match. Since she likes to cook, it was her dream in life to have a stainless steel refrigerator with a freezer on the bottom. At the time, it was the only kind that would fit into spot. One year ago, first the ice maker leaked causing water to spill onto the floor. Since I am a mechanical whiz I bought the part for about $30 and fixed it myself. We were happy. After two years, the freezer worked, but the refrigerator part went warm. I had a repairman replace the control box for $100. It still didnt work. We called Whirlpool, and they said the warranty expired, but as a courtesy, would charge me $95 for a service call. That was not acceptable. They told my wife that the products were man-made and are prone to mistakes. I replaced the fan myself for $100, but drove a total of two hours to get the part since it was rare. It worked great. For one and a half weeks, we were happy. Then the refrigerator and freezer DIED. Only the light and the fan worked. We bought a old school used GE top freezer, but at least it is stainless steel. We lost $2000 in two years and the people at Whirlpool refuse to do anything about it because it isnt their problem. Worst refrigerator EVER!!! !

My experience w/ Whirlpool has been disastrous. Whatever you do read the reviews on products before purchasing, do your homework first before purchasing any major appliance. Whirlpool company and its employees are a joke. We are paying consumers and spent our hard earned dollars to support a company that could care less about us and our problems with their products they sell to us which are a piece of crap. I purchased a refrigerator made by Whirlpool from hhgregg in Oct 2015, which took 2 months to get it delivered. The refrigerator is not a year old yet, and cannot get anyone to come out to repair it. I have called Whirlpool numerous times, and so have my husband to come and repair a refrigerator that is less than a year old.The ice maker stopped working. Then I came home and discovered that the refrigerator is not cool, and everything in the bottom freezer had almost thawed out, and a repairman was supposed to come on August 31, 2016. It has been hot as Hades, during August, Sept, in the high 90s and they had the nerve to call and say they had to order the icemaker and when it came in someone would be out to fix it. I called the company in Maryland to find out what part did they order because a technician hadnt been out at this point to determine what part needed to be replaced. I called Whirlpool, and yes was put on hold for 45 minutes each time, and when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that the manager said I could call a repairman and they would reimburse me up to $150.00. I replied That that is not my job. Your job is to send a repairman to fix it.The name of the company that they gave me and the phone number is located in Maryland, I live in the state of Virginia past Richmond, 3 hours away. Then I was told by the company in Maryland that they dont have technicians to Repair Whirlpool Refrigerators. This is totally unacceptable. It is Sept 19, and since August no one from Whirlpool has been out to fix it, neither have they tried to rectify the problem. Bottom Line, DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT, not from hhgregg, Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, anywhere because this is how they treat customers. I have an 88 year old Aunt that lives with us that were responsible for, and she cant even get a glass of ice cold water from a brand new refrigerator thats still under warranty. Purchased Whirlpool refrigerator model #WRF532SMBM & a new dryer on 11/14/15 from Community Appliance in Middletown, NJ. Waited 3 wks for delivery. Worst purchase ever! Very cheaply made. There is a 1 space between shelf edge & walls all the way around. Put a lb. of butter on shelf & it fell down to the bottom. There is no butter keeper which allows orders to be absorbed by open butter. No egg keeper. In the freezer, the bins are wire baskets. So far I have dropped a bag of frozen blueberries & they fell to the bottom of the freezer. In French door bottom freezers it is almost impossible to retrieve items falling through. Ice packs fall through, very poorly designed. Very loud, supposed to have a water filter in upper right corner for easy access... its not there!Called Whirlpool, waited 20 min. & all the rep could say was, So sorry youre not happy. Asked if modifications could be purchased or made... nope. Asked to speak to quality control, a supervisor, anyone that may be able to give some satisfaction. Nope. And now six months after the warranty expires, the freezer is not working and wont make ice anymore... and I will be charge 400php for check up. Reading on other reviews, I bet I am buying a disposable appliance from whirlpool. The national ref of my sis been a service to her for more than 10 years and its still going good. Our GE ref prior to whirlpool serve as for 19 years.... but this brand sucks.

Whirlpool Refrigerator WRS526SIAH00. Well we have always had a lot of trust in Whirlpool appliances over the years. Just about everything we have is Whirlpool brand including water heater. We remodeled our kitchen and bought a new refrigerator in July 2013 (just for the color/look change). We have had nothing but problems from day one with the water/ice dispenser water may or may not work. Now (AUG 2015) the refrigerator side started freezing our food, milk and tea gallon jugs frozen solid. Went down a self fix list on an appliance parts website using our fridge symptoms, said it was probably the bimetal defrost thermostat. Replaced that part. It didnt fix it.So I did my own troubleshooting and found the cold air was continuing to push from freezer into fridge area, found this cheaply made plastic damper broke and stuck open. Now that part will cost another $50+. Whirlpool knows about these cheaply made parts they have put in these appliances. You cant even get to this part without taking things apart. This is a cheap manufacturers plastic part and Whirlpool knows it. Its not the consumers fault. It was a joke when we received an extended warranty offer from Whirlpool for just $208 per year or $626 for 5 years - I wouldnt spend another dime with Whirlpool. The price is high because they know how many parts are breaking on these units. You shouldnt have any repairs for 10 years on a refrigerator. We are stuck with a lot of Whirlpool products now, but we are done with this brand. Dont waste your money.

Whirlpool model EVLl201NXRQOO, serial no. EWT2423236 - Defective paint on the back of the freezer that caused rust to form and paint to peel off. Whirlpool does not warrant manufacturing defects on the paint. Guess I was lucky for it to be on the back and not the front.

I purchased a Whirlpool washer, dryer and dishwasher in 2004. The dryer and washer paint is peeling off the appliance and is rusting underneath. The dishwasher has never dried the dishes appropriately, it takes a few days to completely dry the dishes. I have lodged this complaint with customer service, also. I have always purchased Whirlpool, but I will never again nor will anyone in my family. I feel that Whirlpool should at least look into the problems and not just verbally apologize. Janice **

So I have had the washer for a few years - bought it new or at least I thought. First came a clunking noise - fixed that. Next came the F1 code and installed a new pump $90 plus dollars. After installation, Im still getting F1 code and am now being told it is the ERC control board or water inlet valve either way a guessing game which in the end will have cost me over $400 to fix myself. I wish companies like this would stand behind their merchandise.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer WTW5800BW0 September 2014. Two years and 8 months later it no longer works. Call Sears and Whirlpool and was basically told I should have purchased a warranty. Whirlpool tried to sell me an extended warranty for $495.00 which is about 80% of the original sale price of the washer. Was told it is my responsibility to care for the maintenance of my purchase. WOW. Way to stand by your product. So now its my fault they sell a product that does not last longer than 3 years. So we tried option 2 - called a repairman. His response save your money and buy a new washer. WOW. A repairman rather lose money than try and fix this washer. Save your money and pass on Whirlpool products.

Whirlpool double oven. The electronic control board has been replaced twice and needs to be replaced a third time after less than a year. The thermal fuses go each time I run the self clean. Whirlpools response has been disgraceful, trying to blame the problem on faulty installation when thousands of people have had the same problem. Ignore ANY US companys product; their warranties are worthless and they repair, not replace. My next oven will be European because in Europe they have to automatically warranty for five years any consumer durable. Consumer Reports ratings are worthless since they dont include breakdown experience in the ratings. Never buy anything from Whirlpool. They sell rubbish and dont honor their own warranty. Check the BBB rating. My brand new double oven broke down the first time that I ran the self clean cycle. Whirlpools response was to claim that the cutout opening was 1/8 inch too narrow and therefore they would not honor the five year warranty that I had bought from them. This was a lie, as I verified the width and it was exactly that required. Others have had the same experience. Whirlpool also makes Maytag, Kitchenaid, Kenmore and Ikea.

Do not buy Whirlpool appliances! Save yourself the trouble. I have a Whirlpool free-standing gas range that I bought when I purchased my house in June 2008. Just the other day, the oven stopped working. When I went to turn the oven on, I can hear a clicking sound but the burners in the oven do not ignite. I called Whirlpool and they offered to send someone out to fix the problem. By the time someone comes out and charges me for parts, labor, etc, I will probably have paid half of what I paid for the range when it was new! I also had the same thing happen with a Frigidaire refrigerator last year! The bottom line is that brand name appliances are not built the way they used to be. I am actually looking at buying a Samsung or some other model and try my chances with them!

My story begins in August of this year when my wife and I built a new home. The builder provided Whirlpool appliances in the kitchen. The fridge has continually tripped the breaker and after numerous visits from the builders electrician, we finally also had the Whirlpool service technician check out the fridge too. After the control board was replaced, and the interior light housing was replaced, it turns out the wiring harness in the fridge is faulty and is not repairable. According to your customer service team, the fridge will need to be exchanged. I have made numerous calls to the suggested numbers (866-698-2538 & 800-253-1301) to find out the status of the exchange. Each time, I have been told that my file is with the review team, and that if I have not heard from them in the next three or four days, that I should call back again. I have not been able to contact the review team directly myself, as your customer service team is either unable to or is not allowed to share those contact details. So I am relegated to wait and then call back again. I have lost track of the number of calls I have made, and the hours spent on hold because of the high volume of calls or re-telling the whole story. The fridge was determined to not be repairable on November 19th. I am not sure if this is the treatment you intend for your customers, or if this is an anomaly.

Oct 14th I walked down to our basement to find it flooded. Turns out the leak came from the solenoid that controls the water feed to our Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator. Now, some $28,000 in damages later - floors/cabinets/walls/electronics - you name it. The repair company said that they replace these units a lot as it is simply a faulty design and Whirlpool knows this as this part is very difficult to obtain - too much demand. Well aside from the cost, the inconvenience, and the rise in our insurance rates the repair person said there was a good chance of the new part failing as well - it just cant take the water pressure as it is just cheap plastic. My advice - stay away from Whirlpool!

Weve had this washing machine only a few years, and our household of 2 probably averages 1 load of laundry per week. Weve always had the same problem everyone has with the detergent stains on clothing and having to rewash loads, and the only remedy weve found was using the oversized loads setting and rewashing a load. The last straw was 6 months ago. It quit going through a complete cycle and would not spin out without resetting it. Then it quit spinning out at all. Service Guard, a 3rd party warranty company, diagnosed a faulty motor and ordered a replacement. After a long delay Whirlpool advised it was back-ordered for 3 months. A week ago Whirlpool advised them it was now back-ordered until 5-27. They did not know whether wed ever obtain a replacement motor. After taking clothes to our sons house for a couple months to wash, we purchased another used machine to use until ours is repaired. It is beginning to appear that machine may be our permanent machine. This is a pretty sad testimonial about whirlpool. We have always used Whirlpool appliances but appears we may have to switch brands. And it certainly does appear these low water machines are garbage. Very disappointed in Whirlpool.

I was not impressed with the new HE washers but could not find any traditional ones anymore. I bought a Amana and am disgusted that it is only 3 years old and needs to be replaced because of a transmission problem with it not agitating. It costs more to repair than it is worth. As a consumer, I should be given a choice whether I want to upscale or be satisfied with older model features. I will never buy or recommend a Amana HE washer to anyone. In the first year of my Whirlpool Washing Machine, the motor quit working entirely. Fortunately, the machine was under a 1-year warranty and the motor was replaced by a Whirlpool service technician. My big complaint with this washing machine is this: Even though you select hot water for the wash cycle, the machine has sensors in it that only allow the water to get lukewarm. If it senses the water getting too hot, it adds cold water to bring the wash temperature back down to 78 degrees F. Next time I will do my research and buy a machine that actually allows one to use hot water.

My Whirlpool microwave door started cracking little by little. Pieces started falling off. My warranty company stated it was cosmetics, so my warranty did not cover it. Finally, the whole door came off. The warranty company finally agreed to replace the door. Less then a month after replacing the door, part of the handle cracked off. There must be some sort of defect in the plastic used to make these doors, and if so, there should be a recall.

I bought a Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in the fall of 2009. For the first 4 years it worked fine. Since the spring of 2015, it started to stop working. I called the company, and they recommend their contractors to fix it. In less than a year, I had it repaired at least ten times. I spent more to repair it than I bought it. This water heater has a 10-year warranty on it. Per the companys recommendation, I replaced the thermocouple, clean it, have it regularly serviced. The technician told us we need to change the gas valve assembly. When I called, they sent a burner assembly. When I called, they asked me about the exhaust pipe, whether it is go through the roof or go through the side of the house. I took several pictures of the exhaust system and sent to them. I called, one of the people on the company side said my exhaust was wrong, and need to be repaired by a HVAC company. I asked what is wrong? They dont tell me. I sent emails, and called to ask an answer, and got nothing. My impression is that they dont want to deal with the issues and simply want the consumer to get tired and replace the water heater. It really shows the total disregard of the interest of the consumers. This should not be the way people do business in the United States. When a big company has large numbers of lawyers, they can ignore the law. What a corrupt system!

Whirlpool serviceman came out to see why our brand new dishwasher didnt dry the dishes and left pools of water on glass bottoms. Repairman said all the new dishwashers are like this. The heating elements do not heat hot enough so that the machine gets a higher efficiency rating. He said the solution is to use the dishwasher during the day and at the end of the cycle, open the door so the dishes air dry. My previous 24 year old GE dishwasher did a great job of drying the dishes even when we didnt use the heated dry cycle! The only reason we had to buy a new dishwasher is because we bought a new house. I am very disgusted with the Whirlpool dishwasher. Might as well do dishes by hand.

Purchased from Home Depot and self-installed. That part was not too big a deal but after installing this stove we started a journey of irritation, aggravation and general dissatisfaction. This stove has the standard layout for burners that seem to be common to most low-end stoves. Two huge burners in the front, a simmer burner at the right rear and a general purpose burner at the left rear. Thats all wrong for me and our set up. I want a large burner at the left rear and general purpose every place else. Can you alter the standard configuration? NO! Not without some major alterations to the stove top.Next are the grills or cast cooktops (2 each). They are a bit cumbersome when cleaning the stove but doable. The real problem with the grills are Whirlpool decided to save money by skimping on this feature. The grills are not a stable cooking platform for smaller pans and it turns out Whirlpool recommends square pans for this stove. SAY WHAT? I have pans and skillets from my grandparents and they are ALL round. Thats how that stuff is made. ROUND! The grills design is unstable for any round pot, pan or skillet, if its diameter, is 6 or less. Kiss that excellent saucepan goodbye if you have this stove. My current solution is a piece of light expanded steel over the burner areas.Keeping in mind we use Propane as our heating gas. The adjustment of the flame temp on the four burners is non-existent. They all are either on high, medium or low. There seems to be no fine tuning with these burners. At the end of the day go look for something that is NOT a Whirlpool, LP gas range Model #: WFG515S0EW. You will be better served and less irritable with almost anything else. Even a campfire in the yard is a better choice.

We purchased Whirlpool dishwasher Model #GU3200XTXB Nov. 2011. Two weeks later they replaced the soap/rinse aid dispenser because the rinse aid was running out the bottom of the dispenser. Feb. 2012 they replaced the handle which was loose. July 2012 the panel lights werent working and that was replaced. Feb. 2014 the soap dispenser door would not open, so the dispenser was replaced again. March 2014 the soap door would not open again so the computer board was replaced & the door did open. However, it stopped again 3 days later. April 2014 the dispenser and the board were both replaced. The rinse aid dispenser did not dispense leaving the inside with moisture on everything. So yesterday the dispenser was again replaced but now the rinse aid is running out the bottom of the dispenser. Thank goodness we purchased an extended warranty for $169 or we would have spent more than $1,000 on repairs!! The warranty company refuses to acknowledge that their lemon law should apply. There are 2 of us and we use it 2/3 times weekly.

Most of the time it either does not put enough water in to get the clothes wet or it will not spin. We had it less than six months and had to call for a repairman and to this day it is not any better. The Frig. we bought is noisy and makes a high pitch sound that sounds like a motorcycle taking off. We had everyone over at thanksgiving only to find out the ice maker had stopped working. The microwave does not heat very well at all and at times if you open the door before it has stopped it continues to run. Everything was purchased at the same time from Lowes about a year ago. We purchased Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW5600 series in October of 2010. I bought the machine from Sears and also bought the extended warranty. Less than 6 months after I had been using it, I noticed that all my husband’s shirts were getting sweat stains under the arms and my hand towels were very smelly after drying with them one time. I called Sears to have someone come out and tell us what the problem was. He said I was using too much detergent so I reduced the amount of what I was using. It did not help the problem so I started using the extra rinse each time I washed, still did not fix the problem. I called them out 3 more times in 2011. One tech told me I was still using too much detergent so I reduced down to 1 tablespoon like he suggested. I stopped using softener in my washer because he said I needed to clean my machine more than one time a month, to clean it every 3 weeks. No solution to the problem still. I have had a tech from Sears and one from Whirlpool (who incidentally was the same man, he was from A&E Appliances). When he came in the door, my husband told him he had been here before and I said 2 times. He lied and said he had not been out before. Are we blind? No. He ran the cycle but sat in his truck while he was running it. None of the techs have ever put a tool on the machine to check if the water level is right. They just stand there and tell us to change the amount of detergent or clean the machine with Clorox more often. I cleaned it 8 days in a row and the clothes still smell and still do not get cleaned. We talked to main man at Whirlpool and said they couldnt do anything because their 1 year warranty had run out. We have been using Whirlpool appliances for over 30 years but I will not ever buy another one. I have probably had 5 Whirlpool washers over the years but never had a problem until we got this Cabrio top loader without an agitator. I would not recommend this washer to my worst enemy, if I had one.
