I love my Whirlpool front loader washer. It is replacing the Maytag Neptune I had for a few years. This Whirlpool has outlasted that Neptune so far by 3 years! So far no issues. I only wish I had purchased the matching dryer at the time.

I spent the extra money and bought a very nice looking Whirlpool range and oven. Within months, it started rusting. I keep a meticulously clean kitchen and Ive never had this problem with any other appliance. I sent letters to no avail. They said that their warranty on rust was 30 days! They refused to do anything about it and told me to go ahead and sue them. Terrible product. Defective from the factory. Do not ever buy a Whirlpool product as they do not stand behind it.

The problem is in every water select mode the tub is filling full and overfilling from the top always room fully with water. I hope the machine is not sensing water level. Such a bad experience from whirlpool company. My review is genius. My date of purchase is 28/7/2021

We bought this dishwasher new from the Brick 2 or 3 years ago. It was bought not because old dishwasher wasnt working, but we needed a new fridge and stove so we also bought a dishwasher to match the new stainless steel fridge/stove. If I could give 0 stars I would. Biggest complaints: It doesnt matter what soap, what setting or how much your rinse/scrape your dishes THIS DISHWASHER WILL NOT CLEAN THEM. Its very rare it actually cleans a dish or utensil properly. If your plate had ketchup on it, it wont clean it. But if you had a sandwich on the plate and managed to not get ANYTHING from your sandwich on the plate, it would come out clean. The drain constantly clogs. We rinse everything, but the drain hose constantly clogs to the point the unit wont drain. Have to remove the unit, take off hoses and blow them out. It clogs because the strainer at the bottom of the dishwasher which is supposed to stop stuff from going down the drain hose doesnt work. If you look at the strainer and the system they use to stop stuff from going down the drain hose. Its no surprise it doesnt work. By design it cant work. My brother in law is a licensed appliance repair man. Sears actually paid for his schooling. He installed and hes fixed the clogged drain numerous times. He agrees. Worst dishwasher ever.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio model # WTW6400SW3 in 04/08. Approx. 6 months ago, the washer started to be un-level during the spin cycle. This has progressively become worse, it now becomes un-level during the rinse cycle. We spoke with the appliance store where we purchased it, ;hey said the repairs could cost $400 or more. Thats nearly half of what it cost new. Like other complaints Ive read, cheaper washers have lasted years longer than the Whirlpool. Our last washer, a Kenmore, lasted 15 years.

When I grew up, my mom and dad had a Whirlpool dishwasher and it was the ONLY dishwasher we EVER had. The SAME one, for over 20 years! So, with confidence, I purchased a mid-range unit. (over $600 2015). By 2016, ONE year later, I was already buying replacement parts because the top rack was falling apart and the bottom spinner broke as well. The parts were extremely expensive and hard to find. Now, a mere 4 years later, you cannot find ANY parts for this machine and there are so many issues with the unit. It is no longer functioning. When it did work it ran for 4 HOURS!! Even then, the dishes are filthy. I am so upset by whirlpool. I want a full refund from the company for treating their loyal customer so badly.

Whirlpool microwave 1163XVS - I purchased a new home and a Whirlpool microwave in May 2010. The microwave has all of a sudden stopped heating! Turns on, spins, counts down, lights up, etc., but will not heat. Found this site by trying on my own to detect a possible reason and Im shocked to see these many complaints of the exact problem. Unbelievable, should be class action suit maybe for continuing to take money from consumers for defective product that Whirlpool knows about and appears to not take responsibility. Ive read enough, not even going to call for repair. Im buying another brand and spending more wisely this time. Thanks for the heads up. Shame on Whirlpool.

I either bought a lemon or Whirlpool products have really gone downhill. Either way I will never again purchase a Whirlpool product. My husband and I purchased our Whirlpool Gold French Door Fridge-Freezer on bottom in January 2012. Water collects in the bottom of the freezer and creates thick sheets of ice. When the bottom of the freezer is a full sheet of ice, the water just drips onto the floor. I come home from work to a river of water that stretches across the kitchen--and now my linoleum floor is warping from the water. This started only 6 months after we bought the refrigerator. Im sure the warranty is out--what can I do?

I recently purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator, model number WRT351SFYB00. Several months later, I noticed a small amount of water on my kitchen floor. I moved the refrigerator and found the hard wood floor under it had been completely ruined, so the leak had obviously been going on for a long time. Possibly since day one. I called a repair man. He identified the leak was coming from a cracked drip tray which was not uncommon. However, much to his surprise, due to the design of this model, he was unable to remove and replace the tray. He explained there was a metal panel bolted in place that was preventing him from replacing it. He said this panel was also bolted to the compressor. Therefore, the best he could do was caulk whatever cracks he found in the existing tray and hope for the best. It goes without saying he could not guarantee his work like he normally does.I noticed this same complaint on a user forum website on Appliancepartspros.com, so this refrigerator obviously has a significant design flaw. My repairman said if it was his refrigerator, hed get rid of it, and also indicated that after seeing this, hed never again recommend Whirlpool to anyone. All I know is that Whirlpool is permanently off of my list now as well.

I feel the Whirlpool washer we have Works amazing. Its an older model and Im still happy with it. It does big loads without having to do it over again or on balancing itself. I have actually had a Samsung washer and we constantly had issues with it - sensor problems and was not very user-friendly at times. I also feel that a lot of the newer washers out there are cheaply made plastic parts and can break easily. Too many companies cutting Corners these days.

I would like for the public to be aware of an issue I have had with my Cabrio Whirlpool washer and the extended warranty service that Whirlpool sells to customers. My Cabrio washing machine is less than three years old and is an inferior product. The circuit board has gone out on my washer twice. Each time my washing machine breaks, it is out of service for three weeks and I have a family of four people. My washing machine broke down with a major circuit board failure for the second time in three years on January 23rd. I called the extended warranty department at Whirlpool and they sent an incompetent repairman to fix my washer. We are going into week 3 of listening to various stories on why it is taking three weeks to source getting a part overnighted to fix our washer. This man has ordered the wrong parts, says he cant come to us because of weather, cant get the parts, etc...I just got off of the phone with the warranty service after speaking with a supervisor and they tell me they cannot source another repairman and we still have to wait. My questions to corporate office at Whirlpool is how long do you have to wait to get a washer repaired and what type of product and extended warranty are you selling to the public? A very inferior washing machine and a very unhappy customer! I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance! BUYER BEWARE, THIS COMPANY HAS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! THIS IS MY SECOND GO-AROUND AND THE SECOND EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN IDENTICAL TO MY FIRST ONE - TERRIBLE!

My mother purchased a Whirlpool gas stove. When the stove arrived the door didnt shut properly. We were told to contact Whirlpool. They sent a repair person out who said that you have to use the stove a few times first and then the door would close. Meanwhile, I had a 2-inch gap and gas and heat escaping. I called and requested another company to come out and check it. No one called back. I called again and they sent out the same repair guy. Apparently hes the only one in the whole Charlotte metro area that can service Whirlpool. Again he said I had to use it more. I called again and requested a different repair person to come out. They promised to send out a lead. When the company called to confirm the appointment they said no one told them that. They finally sent out a different person. That person said absolutely the door was dented. He offered to replace the door. He then came back and said the door comes in too many pieces and he didnt want to put it together so I should contact the store I bought it from and see if they would replace it. Whirlpool refused to repair it. I was able to get the store to replace it after explaining to them the problems with the warranty service. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they lied and said they tried to contact me which never happened. When I called the executive office I was told that I was the problem and that it was resolved so leave them alone. I regret my purchase of my appliances and now have no one to stand by the warranty.

I purchased a range and refrigerator from Whirlpool and have had nothing but problems with them ever since. Ive only had the range for years and (2) of the top burners are no longer working. Again, the refrigerator is only 5 years old and its handle has broken 5 times. I have needed to replace the handle every year that Ive owned the refrigerator. Whirlpool only offered a (1) years warranty for these faulty appliances and then immediately started to bug me about purchasing an extended warranty. I guess they knew that their junk would hold up, so they started pushing a warranty. Finally, their customer service while apologetic, are very robotic and appeared to have heard my complaint before. So, SAVE YOURSELF SOME AGGRAVATION AND PURCHASE ANOTHER BRAND. For if you dont heed my warning just know that youve been warned.

Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # GI6SARXXF 04 Ice Maker - About nine months after purchasing this unit the ice maker began to stop working. I researched what the issue might be. During this time, the ice maker decided to begin working again. This occurred again about 15 months into ownership. At 19 months into ownership, the ice maker no longer works after approximately 5 weeks. Whirlpool will not allow me to purchase an extended warranty. I was told by a CR on the phone. However, she did offer a Repair +1 service contract that cost $345.55. I advised the CR that on the Whirlpool website, I was offered an extended warranty for 2 years for approximately $165.00. After waiting for her to check into my claim of being offered the extended warranty for about 10 minutes, she came back to advise me that no existing issues would be covered. In other words, my $2000.00+ Whirlpool refrigerator is so crappy that Whirlpool only offers a 1 year warranty. And unless I pay $345.55 and/or a service tech charging $129 for a trip charge only, I will not have a working ice maker. Additionally, the capacity for ice storage is extremely small, even for my 2 person household. At times, the ice comes out crushed even though the setting is for cubed ice. The ice shoot is great for taller glasses, but if trying to use a shorter glass, watch out! You will have ice all over your floor every time!

I purchased a house with Whirlpool products installed. The refrigerator wasnt too cold but working for the first 2 months. Then the ice maker stopped working, the freezer stopped working and now nothing works. I have been through 4 service calls, I repaired that took almost 2 hours and the refrigerator is still not working. I have spoken with numerous Whirlpool representatives and they were like robots with respect to their response. There is a chain that they adhere to and once you have spoken to an executive at their corporate office, no one else can help you. Now I am trying to reach that executive and there hasnt been a response. I havent been able to have food in my refrigerator for over 3 weeks and counting. Imagine, eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner for this length of time. Christmas - no refrigerator, New Year - no refrigerator. A consumer who makes a purchase in good faith should not be put to this kind of agony while trying to remedy the situation. I dont know what happened to their customer service but it is nil. I purchased a new Whirlpool stainless steel smooth top range model #WEE745H0FS and it was installed the day before Thanksgiving, 11/22/17. The oven door handle was broken on inside by installers. I called Whirlpool warranty on 11/24/17 and requested a repair. A repairman came the following week two days late. He said he needed to order a part. After calling the “Whirlpool approved” repair shop multiple times over the next two weeks, I was told the part was backordered. Finally, yesterday, 12/13/17 the repairman showed up an hour later than appt. time. He took the oven door apart again and the new part didn’t fit my oven door. He had carelessly ordered the wrong part. I was told he’d put a rush on the correct part and that it would be here 12/18/17. I have had to use duct tape on my brand NEW oven just to use the oven so it doesn’t fall apart when opening.

After the one-year warranty ran out, my wife ran the self-cleaning feature, which since Ive found is a well-documented problem in online forums. The oven overheats and blows out the thermostat, fuse and some other cylinder device, all in all a $600 repair. I am furious that both Whirlpool and Ikea (where we purchased the electric oven) keep completely silent on this issue, not bothering to tell homeowners to use this function at their own risk. Just wipe it out! The well known nature of this self-destruction and potential high cost of repair should be information given to consumers, but of course this would affect their sales numbers. If I could give Whirlpool products and their customer service zero stars, I would! We built our beautiful home that was complete in June 2015. Our builder was installing Whirlpool products in the homes he was building at the time. So we decided to accept the microwave, dishwasher and drop in gas range that he offered. We had never had Whirlpool kitchen appliances and no reason to respectfully decline the brand. We bought a french door Whirlpool refrigerator as well so the handles would match our open concept kitchen. In addition to the poor quality overall, the microwave makes a terrible buzzing noise that has been fixed two times thus far. The refrigerator is so loud at times that its difficult to hear the television when sitting in the living room. The dishwasher does not dry the dishes on any setting to include heat dry hours and hours after the cycle is complete. This forces us to hand dry our dishes prior to putting them in the cupboard. The cast-iron grates on the drop in range already look terrible because the enamel is coming off. I clean all the appliances as recommended by Whirlpool and like to keep our home beautiful because it is our place of solace and comfort. As stated prior, our kitchen and living room are open concept so I now have to contend with an eyesore in the middle of our homes hub because Whirlpool considers this manufacturing flaw as cosmetic and wont cover it under warranty. To add insult to injury, these poor quality products are the higher end available from Whirlpool. We plan to wait for the year end warranty to expire and replace the four appliances with a brand that has always offered excellent customer service and has been very reliable and trustworthy for us. As a consumer, I would save yourselves the agony of purchasing any Whirlpool appliances!!!

To add insult to injury, when I contacted the customer service department, I was told I would have to purchase and replace the lid or pay $299.00 for warranty insurance to have it covered because this is not considered a Quality Control issue. The service person has told me that both hinges and the lid will have to be ordered and replaced, leaving me without a washer for several more days. No one has been able to tell me why this happened. I fear this happening again after repair and do not feel safe with this washer. I would appreciate a response as soon as possible.

Purchased the Gold Series Dishwasher Model No: WDF730PAYM0 Serial No: F14403489 on Dec 2011, started using it from Jan 2012. All is good until June 2014. It started leaking from the bottom, called Whirlpool - the great bad company. Since it is not under warranty they asked to schedule an appointment with their local authorized rip off service company. Technician come on the service day and told me that it is $120.00 for the service call and Labor and parts are extra, first of all $120.00 to come to my house is first rip off, that is the reason Whirlpool on their website do not give any estimates on the service call. After checking the appliance he said main assembly is bad and needs to replace and that will cost more than the original purchase price - what a ripoff. He asked me to contact Whirlpool, they may help since this is the known issue with this model. Called Whirlpool and mentioned and they said it is too old to continue to operate so they cannot help. Ended up trashing the 2.5 year old dishwasher for the new GE dishwasher. Never buy a Whirlpool ever again even on sale. Whirlpool company is not ethical and not ready to help consumer, would love to see them close their operation in America.

Our 2 yr old Whirlpool Gold refrigerator (French doors, bottom freezer) stopping freezing/cooling. When we got a repairman to come take a look at it, he said the compressor is not working. The warranty on the fridge is only 1 year. However, the compressor is the main component of a refrigerator, and the repairman said 5-6 years is the minimum it should last before breaking. I called Whirlpool and asked them to pay for the repairs of what is quite obviously a defective part. They refused. Needless to say, I will never, ever buy another Whirlpool product again.

Wish we had gone online to check all the complaints otherwise we would have NEVER bought a Whirlpool model #EB9FVHLVS. Only 3 years old. First repair call to fix a manufacturers faulty grommet manifested by leaking in the bottom freezer portion. Just outside the warranty - did not purchase extended. Now I know why retailers recommend the extended. My sister overheard the repairman call in the product to his contact at Platinum Appliance Service Inc., and he made direct reference to the model number in the category of Whirlpool products known to have this specific design flaw, and that the product was never recalled but customers were directed to purchase a repair kit to fix the problem. Apparently this became a very well documented and repeated incident within the 1-2 year purchase date of these products and models with the known factory installed defect were still sent out to retailers at a reduced cost with no reference, warning or attention to the factory defect. Now 4 months after the first call we have to call in for another repair issue because our light in both compartments and the motor shuts off for hours at a time. We lost about $80 in meat products, so now were afraid to keep any costly items in the freezer because we cant afford to replace a $100 of thawed products every week on top of groceries already bought!!! It seems as though Whirlpool is gleefully generating business for appliance repair while making more than one hole in the consumers wallet.

We purchased the Cabrio washer & dryer with 6th Sense technology in 6/2007. What a mistake it has been. We have had 3 F1 error codes that a repairman has had to come fix all about a year and half apart. It makes crazy loud sounds if it decides to actually spin in the final spin cycle. It normally does not spin. It just always flashes UL for unbalanced load. We are extremely dissatisfied with this set. The dryer heating element has gone out also. We just purchased a new part. Prior to this, we had a hand me down washer & dryer that worked excellent. We regret getting rid of them, and now need to purchase a new washer & dryer. Whirlpool ought to stand behind its products and get this fixed.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator on 12-26-14 for approximately $2000.00
I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator on 12-26-14 for approximately $2000.00. I was happy as a clam. On May 22, 2015 it died. No freezer or refrigerator. I called Whirlpool because I had a warranty, or so I thought. The Whirlpool representative was less than helpful, couldnt send a repair man until May 27th. When I told her that that date was unacceptable her response was well I could buy a new refrigerator. To say I was upset is an understatement. Everything in the freezer thawed of course and I cooked for 12 hours trying to save something and gave away all I could and filled the garbage can with the rest. I lost over a thousand dollars in food. Apparently my call to Whirlpool generated a survey sent to me and I filled it out with malice. Whirlpool called me regarding the survey and said they were sorry about the refrigerator but the appliance repair person would be there on the 26th, and oh by the way will you do another survey about their response to my concerns? I was not very lady like when I told them no. So here we are on the 26th and Ive gotten a robo call saying the appliance repair man would be here between 2 and 5pm on the 26th. That repair man showed up @ 4:45pm. He never looked at the refrigerator. I told him exactly what had happened and what noises the refrigerator was making. He promptly picked up his laptop and said I will turn the report in and their office would call me tomorrow to schedule a repair man to come and fix it. Needless to say I was livid and told him that I had been led to believe that the refrigerator would be fixed by him that day. He promptly left right after he gave me his business card. So here we are on the 28th and no one from that company or Whirlpool has contacted me about when repairs will be made. I have never been this upset or angry in my life. I have a worthless piece of junk sitting in my kitchen. Ive lost thousands of dollars. I had saved that money to buy a new refrigerator and Im not a rich person. In fact, I am a retired nurse living on social security and all I want is a working refrigerator that Ive already paid for. Apparently Whirlpool could care less. Im at my wits end as to what to do next. Of course I will call the appliance repair company tomorrow to see if they are going to fix it. I hold out no hope that it will be repaired. And yes, Im tired of buying ice.

We purchased this model in July of 2019 and have had nothing but problems with it since. The design is really bad - if you set the temperature on the ideal setting, everything on the top shelf freezes solid. If you reduce the setting to the one below ideal, your freezer doesnt get cold enough to keep ice cream hard. The ice cubes are a little more than half the size of our last Whirlpool refrigerator and the unit is noisy. Weve had Whirlpool out to work on it 4 or 5 times in the first 6 months and twice weve had to throw away food due to the unit not cycling on and off properly. One of the technicians told us he spends a lot of time working on this particular model - evidently, it has a lot of issues. We are now using our old garage refrigerator while we try to get Lowes to give us a refund on this piece of junk.

Our fridge was delivered the 24th of Jan. We called on the 19th of June because the fridge stopped working. The 24th Capital Refrigeration came out and said he ordered the parts, they would likely be there on the on Fri. the 28th. On the 5th the parts werent in yet. On the 5th of July I called Whirlpool to find out whats going on and the parts were on backorder. They would expedite the parts. The parts came in the 12th. Our Whirlpool refrigerator was delivered on the 24 of Jan. It quit working on the 19th of June so we called Lowes. They hooked us up with Whirlpool. They sent a tech the 24th. He (Mike with Capital Refrigeration) left saying he ordered the parts and they would likely be in on that Friday the 28th. I call Lowes on Mon. the 1st. They hooked me up with Whirlpool and they said the parts were being shipped that day and should be to Capital Refrigeration on Fri. the 5th. I called on the 5th and now the parts are on backorder (they didnt know they didnt have the parts). So the parts came in on the 12th. Capital Refrigeration came out, installed all new circuit boards. That didnt work, still no fridge (he suggest replacing the fridge but Whirlpool says no). So he orders new parts. He comes out on the 17th and installed new parts (coils and stuff). It worked for 3 days and quit again, I lost my food again. I call Lowes again. They hook me up with Whirlpool. They say theyre sending a different company. On the 19th A1 Quality Appliance calls, set up appointment for 23rd. The come out and say they are ordering the parts on the 25th. They say that Whirlpool said parts would arrive Mon. the 29th. On the 30th A1 Quality said the parts arent in but they have us scheduled for Wed. the 31st. NO PARTS. I called whirlpool and now I find out again they dont even have the parts again (they dont know they dont have the parts). They are on backorder and in a week call them to see if they have found the parts yet.So at the end of a week (the 7th of Aug.) Whirlpool said to call and see if they found this part yet (maybe not). It will have been 7 weeks without a fridge that broke when in use less than 5 months. They have told us the parts would be here 3 times and then find out all these parts have been on backorder every time. The 1st repairman Mike at Capital Refrigeration advised to replace the unit but they are still dragging this out. They did send us $150 for the inconvenience (not for all the food we lost). It would appear it will be 2 months before we have a refrigerator again if we are lucky. Whirlpool is a very poor company that has misled us several times and are still doing so. We purchased their refrigerator, double stacked oven, microwave and dishwasher and are very sorry. They say they record the calls if there is any doubt about my facts.

I purchase a Cabrio WTW7800XW0 3/28/11. After the year warranty I started to notice sand like substance in the drum of the washer, which lead me to look around the drum. I noticed that the light was completely rusted and flaking, the area around the light was rusted as well. I call customer service at which time they said it was not warrantied, but they sent me out a new light. This did not repair the problem! The rust has continued causing the area around the lid joint to break. Also the area around the bleach dispenser is showing rust- the same side as the light and the lid break. They have said this is not covered and only agreed to pay 1/2 of cost of materials (no service).

I am so disappointed, angry and tired! Unfortunately, I listened to the salesperson regarding this feature and bought it hook, line and sinker! The Aqualift self clean system is a joke! It only cleans the bottom of the oven and that is after you mop up the water left in the bottom and scrub it. No amount of scrubbing even touches the sides, back or window, even after using the Aqualift feature 3 times! I spent hundreds of dollars only to be down on my hands and knees scrubbing to no avail. Same problem a lot of people have written about in your forum. Purchased a double door stainless steel refrigerator, bottom freezer, # GX2SHBXVY from Sears Canada on 12/17/2011. Warranty expired December 2012. Now we have ice forming on the floor under the bottom freezer though water hasnt seeped out as we are now cleaning it daily. Sears wants to charge $75 per hour + parts as there is no extended warranty. Whirlpool says its a common problem with most other Competitor models too. REALLY, ITS NOT. Have checked with a lot of friends of mine with similar models. Nobody is having a problem with especially units hardly one and a half years old. My bro-in-law also bought a Whirlpool a year prior to mine. He is having no problems. See no reason to spend $300-$400 on a comparatively new unit. Also have a 7-month-old stainless steel Whirlpool dishwasher and 4-year-old Gold Accura cooking range. Now spend morning and nights looking at them wondering when they are gonna blow. Need to replace my washer/dryer too but guess which brand I am not opting for.

I paid about $3500 for this, alleged, top of the line fridge a little over 2 years ago. The freezer, bottom type, doesnt get cold enough to thoroughly freeze food. Called Sears, they said out of warranty, the same with whirlpool. But they can have a tech run a diagnostic check for $85. Here we go. They suck more money out of the consumer game, and try to baffle them with **, legal jargon. FYI for all. Dont buy Whirlpool from any store selling Whirlpool products, any Whirlpool products. Once the middle men get the picture, they will stop ordering or buying from Whirlpool.Whirlpool are a bunch of con artists selling crappy products with false integrity. They are the typical old school door to door salesman that sells a crappy product then is on the run to the next state. No receipt or order number. I bought the product two years ago but here is the Serial number K30416919 and the Model number WRF989SDAM00. What happened to fridges that lasted at least 10 years? In 2011, I bought in Croatia, for the start, 2 washers (model 3LCHW9100WQ) and 1 dryer (model 3LCED9100WQ) and opened the first self-service laundry in Pula, Croatia. Since the beginning, I had problems with the gum (black). After the washing cycles, you could see black lines on the laundry. Whirlpool Croatia denied that the gum can be the cause. After two months, they gave me new gums, but the problem still exists. After 5 months of work, the first malfunction on the washers started. The biggest problem is that it took and still takes them up to a month to repair them. And these problems I have ever since. Also, the error codes never showed the correct malfunction code. In global, if I take that I have these washers and dryer for about a year, they were out of function for more than 3 months. The warranty expired in April 2012. On these reasons, I cannot recommend any product of Whirlpool, and I have to change to another company to buy more washers and dryers.

We had Lowes install a Whirlpool model Nu40T121-403 natural gas water heater early October 2012. The temp controller went out in October of 2014. I replaced the controller myself at a cost of $30 for overnight UPS from the manufacturer, American Water Heater. The controller went out again almost exactly one year later and I again replaced it for the $30 shipping charge. In both instances the customer service person told me the malfunction was probably due to my not flushing the heater annually, causing a sediment buildup. The water to the heater not only flushed annually, but is filtered through a water softener and there was absolutely no evidence of sediment in the drain water or on the part of the control that is in the tank. Now it has stopped working a third time. I called Lowes about replacing it, but they only carry Whirlpool, so wont be buying a replacement from them.

On Saturday afternoon, March 31 at 4:30 PM Eastern Time, my roper washer that was purchased on April 17, 2011 overflowed from the top. Water went into the air ducts and completely fried my security system. My husband was out of town at this time on business. The water went into the terrace level of my house and ruined the carpet, walls and ceiling. The restoration and insurance companies came immediately and were a tremendous help. I felt very safe with them even though they were in my house until 1:00 AM Sunday morning. My husband and I visited our Lowe’s store where we had purchased the washer. They told us to contact Whirlpool which we did on Monday, April 2. We were assured by Whirlpool that we would have a Whirlpool employee in our home to fix the washer. We were also told that we could not move the washer. After speaking with a Whirlpool representative, we received an email confirming the repair person would be in our home on Wednesday to repair the washer. During this time, I had to go to the laundry to wash clothes. This cost me $26.00. On Wednesday afternoon when no one had shown up to repair the washer, my husband had to call Whirlpool only to be told that the repairman would not be coming but he would be there on Thursday between 10:00 and 1:00. He arrived at 12:45 and the nightmare began. He had an “I dont care” attitude and if my husband had not been at home, I would have been very uncomfortable. After looking at the washer, he said a part would have to be ordered and it would be the next week before he could fix it. I asked him what I was to do about clothes to be washed. He replied go to the laundry, he was just the repairman. He also said I could use the washer but not to put a full load. On Tuesday night, April 8th, I was washing and I had the washer on medium load and the washer started leaking from the bottom. We still have not heard from the repairman, today is Thursday. Also, my husband and I work outside the home. It would have been so much easier to have the washer replaced but instead we have to wait. We had a washer to be delivered on Tuesday, April 2nd, but we are still waiting on them. Most of the restoration work other than the washer has been completed. Thank you.

I want to make this clear I’d give NO stars if I could!! Whirlpool is totally junk!! I bought a whole suite of Whirlpool kitchen appliances from Home Depot that is a dishwasher, stove, and fridge. The dishwasher never cleaned the dishes, always left a film on everything, cant clean out the drain area, the screens don’t come off and less a year later the dishwasher top rack literally fell off and broke all the glasses that were loaded in it and the fridge keeps freezing all my food!!! I keep having to adjust the thermostat up down up down just to make it doesn’t freeze. Now that the warranty is no good on any of the crap I will no doubt be charged an arm and a leg to get it fixed, which definitely won’t be worth it!!! Whirlpool is such crap!!! Made in America no wonder!!! Don’t buy any whirlpool anything!!! You will be very VERY disappointed!!! I’ve bought plenty of brand new appliances. Bosch is by far the best dishwasher even the cheaper ones. Now I have to pay to dispose the whirlpool crap!!! I am sure whirlpool doesn’t give a crap though!!! They will keep selling their crap, but don’t Buy it!!! You will be soooo disappointed!!!

After 20 calls, to customer service centre they said, Your refrigerator has to sent to the center. For that they asked 1000 rs... We were so disturbed by their slow service. We immediately said yes. Now when our refrigerator arrived at their center. Now they are again asking for 3400 rs for other part. Im so frustrated by this service. What type of warranty you are giving.. The warranty is of just the box.... So bad products. Such a bad experience... Never gonna buy Whirlpool product again or recommend anyone.

I purchased my Whirlpool side by side refrigerator approximately 6 months ago. Immediately upon delivery the compressor showed itself to be very noisy, especially upon start up. I questioned the delivery persons and was told it would become quieter with time. It did I not. In fact, in the following days it got worse. I contacted Whirlpool and was sent an “approved” repairman. The confusions and scheduling difficulties in this process, however, were many. Finally, when the man did arrive. He listened and said the refrigerator was working but agreed it was loud but apologized there was nothing he could do.I called Whirlpool again several times to note the noise and constantly was given the sympathy of people saying they “understood but there was nothing they could do.” Finally, out of desperation I contacted the store where I had purchased the refrigerator and they sent a manager who agreed the unit was unreasonably loud and took the refrigerator back. I researched the Whirlpool company and found they are essentially the same company that makes several other common American name brands, so I made a point not to purchase from any of these companies. Instead, I purchased from a foreign manufacturer and couldn’t be happier. All I can say is I tried to buy American but have been greatly disappointed by both the product and lack of customer service by Whirlpool. I will not buy from them or their other companies again.

I have a 4.5year old Cabrio washer. Ive replaced the water pump 3 times due to a weak plastic part which keeps blowing out due to pressure. Now, the unit is leaking rusty, black fluid from the bottom. I purchased it at HH Gregg in Indianapolis, In. Svs tech called. They have never seen this on such a new unit. Parts and labor will equal $400.00. Calling whirlpool customer care did nothing. I offered to pay the labor of $100, If they would be willing to pay for parts. Talked to a supervisor who offered to sell me an extended warranty costing $300.00. I am a stock owner in Whirlpool, no joy, dissatisfied with faulty product. They are unwilling to make this situation right. The unit is poorly made. I think a $800 unit should last longer than 4-5 years. In 2006, Whirlpool stopped offering a 5 year normal warranty on their units. Supervisor would not let me talk to anyone else.

I have had our new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer for about a year. I absolutely hate it. I along with all the other people that is complaining about their Cabrio. I have found it to stain my clothes, not get them clean... Sometimes not even get part of them wet. I wash every load now no matter how small on the deep water option. I still have to add about 3 to 6 gals of water after it fills to try to help them get as clean as I possible can. I have stopped using fabric softener because I believe that is what may be leaving the stains on the clothes because it doesnt dilute it. Also you cant soak clothes in the washer long enough. I know it offers a presoak but when the clothes are not getting wet... That is not soaking. I tried to fill it up and raise the lid so it wouldnt wash until I was ready for it to wash but it automatically emptied the tub after a short time.It is funny watching the clothes when washing... Even I could tell they were not going to be washed well. I thought who in the world developed this washer. Certainly no one that had ever really considered what women need to wash clothes on a daily basis. I would sell it but I dont think anyone would buy it. If there is a class action suit I would consider joining in. Whirlpool could not have spent much effort in checking this washer out. A lot of money down the drain. I did not buy the dryer because of the lint vent being on top of it. What a mess those make when you have to empty it. So I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL. Now that is a wonderful dryer! As one homemaker to another I suggest you check it out. Never had one I liked more.

Since my review I have been corresponding with Whirlpool Customer Service (Chris). First he sent me an email and mailed a replacement board to have us (the homeowner) install. Because the cover was so melted, the replacement board would not fit down into it. I emailed pictures to Chris. Once he saw the pictures, he called me and arranged for the water heater to be replaced since it was still under warranty. He even extended the authorization code so we would have plenty of time to arrange for a plumber to do the work. We had to pay for the plumber, but Whirlpool arranged for us to have a new water heater. Now I can sleep at night without worrying that my house would burn down if the old water heater caught fire. Chris was GREAT to work with. I had a direct number to him and called any time I had a question. I was very impressed with Whirlpools Customer Service.

Purchased a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator model #ED5KVEXVB07 in July 2012 from Sears for about $1000. Unit quit cooling late Dec 2014. I did not purchase the extended warranty, so the Whirlpool 1 year warranty was all I had. The repair technician (local company, not from Whirlpool directly) told me that the compressor had seized up, and the repair would be at least $300. I thought Id call Whirlpool just to see if theyd be willing to do anything for me. Long story short: No. I told the person on the phone: “I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance.” She said: “Im very sorry about that.” After I hung up, I thought: If Whirlpool was really sorry, theyd stand behind their products for a part that should not fail after only 2.5 years.

My new ACCU-BAKE oven was not baking properly. Always uneven results. Finally called for service, just in time before the warranty expired. The service rep informed me that I had not bought a convection oven. Well, duh! Of course, I knew that! He tested the temperature levels inside the oven and found a variance of 10 degrees Celsius, which he reported by phone to the company. He advised me to reach into the oven half-way through any baking process to turn my cake around, and it would bake evenly. I asked him if he had ever tried that himself. No, he said, he was not a baker. That was the end of the service call. No follow-up, no service. Today I learned that the company actually has this exchange in its records, but if I want to get the oven to work properly Ill have to pay for service, as the warranty has expired. I wonder what would happen if I ever tried the self-clean or Sabbath mode features on this oven.

We called up the customer care person on 18002081800 and tried asking him the dimensions of the plate pr at least how we could reorder it. He never listened to us. He just got our details. Said that technician will come at 11am tomorrow and disconnected the call when we were trying to explain what our query is all about. Is that all the respect a customer deserves!? Is that how whirlpool trains their service people!? He doesnt even have the basic courtesy to listen to the customer, I wonder how was he even recruited as a customer care person. If you want at least your basic respect, please DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

Multiple issues with this two-year-old refrigerator. Do not buy! The exterior stainless steel doors rust in sporadic locations. According to a quick google search, it is a widely known issue that Whirlpool has not addressed. We have never used abrasive cleaners, only wipes that are made for stainless appliances. We use them on all of our stainless appliances. The fridge is the only one that now has 10+ areas of pitting rust. It continues to spread! What the heck?Secondly, the ice maker stopped working at 16 months. First it was just the auger that stopped turning. Which was inconvenient but not the end of the world. It still produced ice, but we had to open the door and pull ice out instead of having it dispensed. Now it has stopped producing ice altogether. We had the repair guy out today. Apparently, the motor for the auger and the actual ice maker are not receiving power any longer. The certified tech said it was either the main control board or bad wiring somewhere from the control board to the ice maker. For a small fortune, we can try putting in a new board. If the new board doesnt work, we will then know it is a wiring issue. If it is a wiring issue, we will have paid for a new board that was not needed, and we are out of luck completely on the wiring issue. Part of the wiring is sealed within the freezer door. A new freezer door costs nearly as much as the fridge. Part of the wiring is sealed in the back of the fridge. It is impossible to open the seal without breaking the fridge, because the back is a sealed system. But it does keep our food cold. Just dont put anything the top shelf of the fridge because it will freeze. Thanks for the 1 year warranty Whirlpool! You timed it perfectly! What a joke.

Bought expensive fridge 2009. Now (2015) random very loud rat-tat-tat sounds lasting 5-10 seconds. Very loud. Paid for repairman to evaluate. He said it was probably compressor spring and other springs would probably soon break and would shut down fridge. Said it is very expensive to repair and it would be best to dump the fridge and buy a new one. I called the 800 number located inside the fridge. Jacob at Whirlpool listened to my story and said, Yep, it sounds like the compressor spring and the other springs will likely break. He said he can make me a one-time offer of a full repair of the compressor for only $359.65. We pay Whirlpool and they will have a local guy here come and fix it. We paid by visa. And, via email we get a document that shows we just bought a service contract. This is a surprise to us as we were told were paying to have the compressor repaired. In a few days, a call comes from local repair shop. Guy says, he will come out and check out the noise and see if he can repair our unit. We tell him the noise is intermittent and we cant predict when the noise will occur. We also tell him Jacob from Whirlpool said it was the compressor and that we paid to have it repaired. He says it doesnt sound like it is the compressor and that he cant diagnose the problem if he cant hear the noise. We tell Maytag/Whirlpool via phone we are faxing formal request for refund of our $359.65. Lady from Whirlpool says we, should get a refund in 4-6 weeks. Well, we will see.We are very disappointed in the the short life of our very expensive fridge and we are disgusted with the false and misleading comments made by Jacob of Whirlpool. He told us we were paying for the repair of our compressor and instead we get a stupid service contract. We are in the process of buying a new fridge. And no... It will NOT be a Maytag/Whirlpool!

We have had this Refrigerator for 3 years in December of 2016. To date, we have had to call a repairman (in February 2016) to replace a circuit board on the back of the refrigerator. That took 4 days, as the company sent the repairman the wrong parts. After that $300 repair, which we got at a discount because, the repairman felt bad that the company actually sent the wrong part. Since then we have taken it apart ourselves for several reasons: The freezer compartment filled up with a layer of ice and started to melt all over the floor, shutting the refrigerator off, (which then forced us to borrow coolers to store the food) until it could be repaired. The drain tube was completely blocked and in order to fix this problem, the tube had to be taken out and modified, according to the Internet videos we then watched. In order to make all of these repairs, the door, the shelves and baskets have to be removed, which is definitely not an easy thing to do at all. There are so many hidden screws and tabs that must be manipulated with tools and by hand to remove the doors, shelves and trays just to get where you need to be in order to make these repairs. With each repair, the ice maker and water dispenser started having problems, because, each time the refrigerator has to be shut down, it takes hours for it to re-set itself. Luckily my husband had the tools necessary, with videos on the Internet to assist us. However, once the first problem started, it was a snowball effect, literally. ALL of these problems have been identified by the manufacturer, however, nothing has been done. VERY POOR DESIGN!

I purchased a Whirlpool gas hot water heater in July 2012 and have had to replace the control/pilot light mechanism every 6 months since then. Whirlpools customer service is the worst service in the world. They are rude. I have followed their instructions every time and have been accused of being uncooperative. I paid $350 to $400 for my heater and just spent $200.00 to have a plumber put apple cider vinegar in my tank.I was told by Whirlpool that the calcium sediment was causing the problem... I drained this tank twice and there was no sediment in the tank. This is evidently a common error for Whirlpool tanks. I will never purchase any Whirlpool product again and will tell others that their products are crap. The worst part was the inconsiderate customer service. I dont know who trains them, but they need to fire the entire bunch. Shame on you Whirlpool!

Rust around the inside of the top of the washer. They do not use stainless for this part of the washer. It is some sort of cheap tin material that will rust in less than the first year. They have gone cheap on building but still think their products are worth the expensive price they ask. Do yourself a favor, pop the lid and look under what they do best to hide and also they removed the pop down door on the dryers so you cannot vacuum out the excess lint build up. Tragic lint gets hot and starts to burn in the gas models and stink. They should be ashamed of themselves. They have bought up most of their competition and now they have gone cheap on product production but not on price.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio on October 27th, 2010. The Cabrio is always giving me the UL code, which indicates the load isnt in balance. Ive been doing laundry for 27 years. I know how to load dirty clothes into a washing machine evenly. Sometimes it will take me all day to do one load of laundry! Seven months after my purchase, my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine started giving me the F51 error code. I called the phone number on my Lowes receipt for warranty work. Two weeks later, I finally had my washing machine running again. I was happy and thought Id only have to deal with the UL code. Boy was I wrong?!Now Im two weeks away from my warranty expiring. Im getting the F51 error code again! This washing machine is an $800 piece of junk! Hopefully, I can get the Cabrio repaired before my warranty expires in two weeks. I do a lot of laundry. We are a family of six. So, I know Im hard on washing machines but come on. Shouldnt an $800 washing machine last at least two years? Im not even a full year into owning this junky washer and Ive had two breakdowns! In my opinion, this washing machine needs to be recalled and people need a reliable replacement or refund.

We bought this combo at Lowes and was looking forward to their arrival. Unfortunately, we have had so many problems with both appliances. The washer is constantly having an error and we can only wash clothes on the quick wash cycle or else it will shake like crazy, get an error, and stop. We had the washer a little over a year when we had someone come look at it. We were told there is something wrong with the load sensor and it was going to be $350 to fix it. As for the dryer it will dry for a little bit and completely stop (no error) and restart later on by itself. I have been a devoted Whirlpool customer but not after this.
