I originally purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater in 2005. After numerous problems Whirlpool agreed to replace January 2010. With the new hot water heater, everything was fine for the first two years. Now about every 6 months, we are having the thermocouple and the igniter. Each time you order the part, the part is free but you have to pay $30.00 for shipping. I am tired of dealing with this. We have decided even though we still have a warranty left on the hot water tank we are going to purchase a different one and never ever buy another Whirlpool product. They do not stand behind their products.

Whirlpool gas range Model WFG5245LAB2 has serious flaws that are a danger. I noticed the handles to turn on the burners seem sloppy. So sloppy in fact that just brushing up against the knobs will turn the gas on. This happened when I had someone visiting and we returned you could smell gas in the house. We were none the worse since we were out however my 3 cats were in the house the entire time. Tonight I removed the large grates that go over the burners to clean the porcelain. Once again I brushed up against the handle and the back burner ignited causing me to burn my hand. This stove is a danger to all.

I purchased the 19 cu. ft. Whirlpool Estar refrigerator WRT 3595FYW on 4/28/12. Freezer began showing frost immediately. Repairman from Marcellas Appliance where purchased - (518) 381-1957, came to check it, put a sealer around the door openings of refrigerator and freezer. Frost continued. I called Whirlpool. They sent another repairman from EB Russell in Schenectady, NY, door needs replacing. Door was ordered and when received by them, the door was replaced on my refrigerator. In August 2012, frost is in freezer, on its roof, on the door daily. I called Whirlpool. I told them I wanted to remove it from my home. Whirlpools reply was, you have a repair warranty, not a replacement warranty. I was not advised of this when I purchased. Otherwise, I would have gone to Sears, Lowes, etc. On 8/16/12, another repairman from The Appliance Man, Albany will be here Monday. Its dishonest sale, replacement was advised possible by Marcella, that it was just a matter of course to get an okay from Whirlpool. This is not so. There is no replacement or return policy. Please help. Thank you.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model WTW6400SW2 Serial CU0272414: I replaced my wonderful 25+ year old Kenmore washer with the Cabrio, 4 years ago. Within the first year I had to have a computer board replaced that was covered under the warranty. This last 6 months I replaced the suspension rods, was constantly showing that the load was unbalanced. Also have a LD error, long drain, probably because a sensor is bad. Today, restarted a load several times and could never complete the entire cycle. I resorted to unplugging, and starting a drain spin cycle and the washer just flooded my house. So Im done with this unit. Waiting for a class action suit. Lets get started. What type of unit should I buy now. I guess Im going to subscribe to Consumer Report before I buy another. Laundromat for me in the meantime.

My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine in 2013 (Model Number WTW8600YW1). It never filled properly with water. It evolved to a sensor and circuit board issue that Whirlpool never totally remedied. Hence, the machine never worked properly. This 800 dollar purchase on an elderly persons limited budget had to be utilized minimally. Now fast forward in 2015, even with minimal usage and white glove handling, the machine is displaying an F51 error. You guessed it, Whirlpool will not remedy the issue, although it is well-documented to be a widespread complaint hence clearly a product defect. Shame on Whirlpool, their business practices, and what amounts to theft of an elderly womans finite income. I have advised my mother to trash the useless Whirlpool appliance and purchase a Kenmore washing machine, of which I have been the proud owner for 10 years, doing laundry for a family of 5.

Quiet Partner II - Our dishwasher racks started to crack and rust very quickly, about two years after purchase. We repaired the racks and tines, but the rust got worse. We replaced our dishwasher today with another brand. Many of the tines on the drying rack had rusted and broken off. We have been told to only purchase Nylon racks. I hope this is good advice. I must admit I had no trouble with the machine as far as cleaning my dishes. I just felt the racks should last longer than two years. Cost to replace racks was about the same as replacing the whole machine.

Have a Whirlpool side by side about a year and a half old. Fridge started getting warm, so when I contacted the Whirlpool co, they informed me and sold me a year warranty to cover what the problem is and anything that would go wrong in the next year. The warranty is through Assurant. After contacting them, I found out they could not have a repairman out for another week. Wasnt happy, but nothing I could do. They found out the compressor was bad, ordered the part which showed up the next day, but could not come out to install it for another week. Getting more upset. Put it in and my fridge was hotter than before. Called and they could not have anyone out for (you got it) another week. The new compressor was bad. Ordered a second one, came the next day, and they put a rush on the repair so I only had to wait 4 days this time. Guess what, it still does not work. Had to wait another 4 days for someone to come out. So tomorrow is the day. We shall see will it be another compressor and another week to put it in? I never heard of any company stretching a repair over a months time. I am so angry with Whirlpool, Assurant and A&E repair company; you just dont know. I would not recommend buying or going through these companies. This is very unprofessional.

I bought this refrigerator WRT111SFDW for less than $600 through Home Depot in Oct 2016; it was delivered and placed into use in late Dec. (Home Depot still shows the order as Processing). Had an icemaker installed during delivery. As of today Ive had to call for service 4 times. The refrigerator compartment does not cool properly. Services have been through Whirlpool Service as this appliance is under warranty. Technicians are Whirlpool-approved. I have another refrigerator from Whirlpool that operates just fine. It seems as though the cost of sending repair techs would be higher than the cost to have replaced this unit. Terms of the warranty state that Whirlpool makes that judgment; not the purchaser. Sorry I bought this piece of junk. How many service calls on one appliance is too many???

The users guide that comes with the unit says for this call assistance. I called the local appliance co. Cost to replace the bulb is $10 parts, $65 service call $25 labor thats $100 plus tax for a $.10 bulb! I called Whirlpool. What a joke, the biggest bunch of puppets paid by a Michigan based company who never heard of what happened in Detroit! They were no help and understood my frustration but flat did not give a **! For a $.10 part Whirlpool is willing to get bad press worth whatever I can amass!

A service man installed it, and it still did not work - he was unable to get it working. They said my gas supply line 1/2 od was too small. I had it replaced to 5/8 od 1/2id, and it still did not work. I called them again. They offered to send more parts and try again. This is a brand new water heater, never fired. I asked if they would give me a ra number so I could return it to the store. He would not give it to me. He insisted he send some one out to try to repair it. Meanwhile I have had no hot water for 2 days. He told me do what I have to do and hung up on me. So I removed the heater and took it back to Lowes, where they were glad to give my money back. But still, I lost a day of work and paid the gas yo bring it back. I went to home depot bought a GE hot water heater. I had it installed in about 15 minutes and it is working fine.

Purchased a G16SDRXX07 three door Whirlpool refrigerator two years ago. Ever since new, when there is a very short power glitch the refrigerator shuts down and will not re-start without manual intervention. This happened at two months. Whirlpool replaced the boards. Still does it. Also when this happens the water dispenser will no longer dispense continuous water. It stops after three ounces. Now they want to charge me for a service call and parts to correct a problem that is obviously built into the unit. There should be a recall on this. Whirlpool should correct the problem free of charge as it is obviously an electronic design issue. Upgrade the necessary control board and replace it. If not, after being a loyal Whirlpool customer for 42 years, we will replace this unit with a different brand that Whirlpool does not build.

My fridge stainless steel doors rusted on after Whirlpool Customer Service
My fridge stainless steel doors rusted on after Whirlpool Customer Service told me to buy and use Affresh (a Whirlpool product) to clean them! The fridge was only 12 days old when this occurred, imagine my shock and disappointment. Whirlpool Customer Service reps then sent me another one of their products Whirlpool Stainless Steel Brightener with instructions to clean it every day for 3 weeks and it would resolve the rust problem. It didnt resolve the rust problem. 2 repairmen from different companies have looked at the doors and shook their heads that Whirlpools own Customer Service department recommended a product for a fridge that rusted it and then they take no responsibility for it! Whirlpool knows these stainless steel fridges have the potential to rust. Its listed in their manual. Unfortunately, buyers arent given a copy of that manual to peruse BEFORE they buy the product. I would never have purchased this Whirlpool fridge had I seen that! I have now since read of other Whirlpool stainless steel fridges rusting.

Regarding a Whirlpool Refrigerator (model ET8CHMXKQ04) purchased in 05. I dont remember exactly when the problem began but the freezer starts its defrost cycle, water drips down through the refrigerator compartment (soaking all paper/cardboard covered products), collects under the crisper trays and eventually spills out onto the floor. Its a river of water that requires a towel to collect.I believe whats missing is some sort of collection funnel and tube that catches this dripping water and delivers it to the evaporation tray behind the base cover plate under the refrigerator. Obviously, Whirlpool has no quality control nor does it do any field tests to ensure their products are designed and operate properly.

Do not buy this washer. It does not get clothes clean. I use extra rinse (that negates the water savings) and still clothes comes out with stains on them. Bought a model WRT318FZDW02 (top freezer) refrigerator (new) about 3 1/2 years ago and its already failing. The temperature regulation has failed and food in the lower compartment freezes while the temperature in the freezer compartment varies wildly. I definitely cant recommend buying anything from Whirlpool these days.

I bought the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher on November of 2014 from Home
I bought the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher on November of 2014 from Home Depot. The first thing that happened was that it started to leak. I called Whirlpool and someone came out to look at it. It took about a week for them to come. They said it was installed incorrectly and they do not handle installation issues. They left. I took the dishwasher out and reinstalled according to the guide. It still leaked. The dishwasher had to be perfectly level before the leaking stopped. The next issue was that the dishes were not getting clean my dishes. The top rack was the worse. I called Whirlpool again. They came out, took the dishwasher apart and said the part called the diffuser had become dislocated. He placed it back into its proper position and left. This was April of 2015. The dishwasher did an ok job. Some dishes still came out with food on it. By the end of 2015, close to the warranty expiring, the top rack was no longer being washed. I took the dishwasher apart from the inside and found the diffuser was not in the right position again. So every time I want to run the dishwasher I need to take the spray arms out and the racks until I have access to the bottom of the dishwasher to reset the diffuser. Now the warranty was expired, Whirlpool wanted about $150 just to come look at the dishwasher. Sears wanted $59. So I called Sears. Their tech said the dishwasher has a broken motor. For Sears to fix it would be around $400. I called Whirlpool. I felt that the motor was already broken within the warranty period and that the problem finally got diagnosed now. Whirlpool felt this wasnt the case. Their price to fix was also close to $400. Now I need to buy a new dishwasher and throw away a one year old dishwasher. Only this time I will buy the extended warranty. Overall, poor product, poor customer service, and poor warranty coverage.

I am writing due to the defects and flaws in my recently purchased appliances. I chose Whirlpool believing I was buying the highest quality for longevity purposes. Every appliance I own is Whirlpool or Maytag - same company. I purchased warranties and was told the warranties dont cover my issues and was basically brushed off. I am infuriated. Here is a list of complaints. Refrigerator is cracking on the inside on the inner door and at the bottom. These cracks surfaced within the first year of purchase. The warranty does not cover cracks in the inner body. The oven/range has an exhaust that bellows out of the top of the range in a way that the smoke curls up onto the panel and discolors it. I have never had an oven constructed with an exhaust pipe in the front that pours smoke onto the range itself and into your house. The dishwasher paint has rusted off on the door as have the screws on the inside of the door. The cover panel on the cleaning dispenser of the washer has popped off and cannot be popped back on, hence the guts of the dispenser are always visible and when I go to load the cleansers the front has to pulled out from inside the dispense. The refrigerator is also leaking from the bottom and the ice-maker no longer produces ice. This started off and on for the past 2 years. At first I thought the leak was from a near by window. No it is the refrigerator. All of these appliances were purchased in 2013, 14 and 15. New. I am 56. I have never had issues like this ever in my life growing up or as an adult. Appliances lasted forever. I am one person. How much damage could I do? None. These are flaws in chemical compounding of the paints and materials for cracks and rust. Whirlpool was called various times and was not interested in sending a rep to verify my claims. They said all of my warranties did not cover such issues only motors. Lots of many spent in vain. I will not purchase Whirlpool again as they seem disinterested in customer satisfaction.

Whirlpool Wash-And-Go washer and dryer - I purchased these new November 201
Whirlpool Wash-And-Go washer and dryer - I purchased these new November 2016. Since week two, they have been a constant problem (i.e. not enough water to even get clothes wet, forget about clean; gulping soap from the dispenser; rubbing holes in clothing; putting rust on washed items). The dryer NEVER gets the clothes dry; no matter what setting they always come out damp, even after Ive put them through for two cycles.Three separate repairmen have come to work on the washer replacing sensors and the entire control board. It worked fine for two weeks, now its back to guzzling soap. (It is supposed to do up to 12 loads on one refill of detergent. I get two per refill. Ridiculous! Soap isnt cheap!) And, today it ruined brand new bathroom mats with rust all over them that I had to hand wash to try and remove without much success. At this point I would advise anyone looking for new appliances to try any other major brand and NOT Whirlpool. As soon as I can get the money, these are being junked and Im NEVER buying Whirlpool anything again!

My ref. stopped working. I troubleshoot it and did not work. I filled out a service request back on February 2nd, 2015. I got an email back from a subcontractor called Active Appliance INC. with a date service on February 6th, 2015, 4 days after my service request, and that is the only available date. The technician arrived while I am not at the house, however I talked to him before he started the work on my refrigerator and asked him kindly if he can call me after founding the issue, and he assured me that he will. No call and when I arrived home I found that he told the attendant that the refrigerator is not working and he has to report to the office. REALLY! We know that! Anyway I called Active Appliance and the customer services rep. told me that she could not answer with the diagnose until she speak with the technician and that will be Monday February 9th, I asked if I could speak with a manager, and her reply was Our managers do not talk to the customers. I had to hang up and call Whirlpool customer services and spoke with a nice gentleman, that he was not happy with Active Appliance INC. services. He placed me on hold and called them and within 3 minute he got back with the news, what was wrong with the refrigerator, electric computer panel burned out and then the fan continue to work with no stop, so it burned as well. He assured me that the services will be done no later than Tuesday February, 10th.While on the phone I got a call from active appliance and this time she wanted to know if I am warranted. I told her that I have Whirlpool on the other line and they assured me that I am. She said that it does not matter and she has to get something in writing. I placed her on hold and talked with Whirlpool and he assured me that he will contact them and email me a confirmation, which he did. By Tuesday February 10th, no call no follow up. I called Active appliance and they stated that it would take up to 14 working days for a part to arrive. I called Whirlpool and spoke with a customer services manager, and she got on the phone and told me that they are going to do their best and get back with me. Today February 16th I got a call to cancel a work service order due to technician calling sick and reschedule for February 25th Wednesday, I told her that they did not call to schedule the service first place, her answer was Never mind, I am calling to cancel anyway. Would you like to take this appointment or NOT? I asked her kindly to reevaluate their service procedures and the way they handle their customer, and I told her that I bought my refrigerator from Whirlpool and they are the company in charge of their product and I do not wish to continue this dialog with Active Appliance!I called Whirlpool and the customer service gentleman was helping me and we got disconnected, however when I called back they were closed for the day, however the customer service has my phone number but I got no phone call!!!! I think this is the worst POOR service I got within the last 20 years!!!!! I hope someone at Whirlpool care about their services and can contact me to handle the issue.

To be fair to Whirlpool, I have contacted them but have not given them time to respond. I feel so strongly about this issue that I want to get the message about this company product out. About 2 years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool fridge, stove, and dishwasher. I have had so many problems with the stove (WFG540H0AS0) that it has pissed me off, actually. First, the knobs that control the stove top melted. MELTED! We had to replace them to the tune of $30.00 each and there are 5. Why would anyone use knobs that cannot withstand heat on a stove?! News flash, I cook on my stove. Therefore, there will be heat used. Second, the oven keeps shutting off in the middle of cooking my holiday meal. Of course, this made my turkey take much longer than usual. Today, it shut off in the middle of cupcakes. Third, the oven does ignite without turning it on and off multiple times. So we called the repair person who told us to replace the ignition switch for it. This helped for about one month. Then the problem started again. I just emailed Whirlpool and I will call them next business day. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool. I thought they had a good reputation for quality products.

The stove is only 5 years old. The oven would not ignite. The gas was getting through, but theres no flame. Sears repaired it and put a complete flame and ignitor piece at a cost for a part of $132.00. I feel the stove is too new to have to replace anything. I am retired, so I do not use the oven often. I have only cleaned the oven one time in five years. It is very clean. I picked this stove out and paid $900.00, because I liked the style and everything about it. I feel you should look into this, and I should not have to pay for repairs in such a short time of ownership. The repair person said this stove already had an upgrade in it. Please respond. I bought all new Whirlpool appliances. In my opinion Whirlpool has the best product at the best price. I don't buy anything but Whirlpool. My new bottom freezer refrigerator has more room than my previous side by side. The bottom freezer is a great feature and works very well for me. The shelves are adjustable. There is plenty of room in the doors. It has a meat drawer and humidity control vegetable bins. I was worried I wouldn't have enough room for my food but I am happy to report there is plenty of room. The freezer has the pullout shelves and automatic ice maker. It has a great appearance and takes less room than my previous side by side. Overall, it is well worth the price and I am not sorry I bought this refrigerator in the least. It can't be beat.

I bought my fridge in late 2008 and I am already experiencing potentially expensive repairs due to what I believe is a defective design system, of which, consumers are having to bare the consequences for those who collected our hard-earned cash and delivered a lousy product! I saw so many similar complaints about the ice system on this fridge that I am almost positive that it qualifies for a class action suit and settlement. How about a collaborative approach to this since we have all suffered needlessly? Tell me what you think and if you are in on it.

Purchased a whirlpool water heater 04/08/2005 and it worked for a short time. It had a 6 year warranty. I had to replace the thermocoupler assembly 1 time and it worked fine until last week. 09/02/1011, 4 months after warranty ran out, the unit started leaking severely from the top ? (Could of understood the bottom) here. After investigating further and being told to basically pound salt by the warranty number I called, I removed the top cove r(glued on by spray in insulation) and carved away the spray in insulation. All the bosses/threaded fittings for the inlet outlet and anode rod were all leaking under the insulation where it could not be seen! I know for a fact this unit was leaking long before the warranty expired! But because of the way it is built it is impossible to see it!. I strongly feel this was a manufacturing defect and there are hundreds if not thousands of these units in people houses all over the country!

Very similar experience with warranty issues as everyone else. I purchased a brand new $2k side by side stainless steel model in Dec of 2013. It began not cooling in August of 2014 and they have since had 8 repairs and still will not exchange the fridge/replace the fridge. We finally had to buy another fridge and put it in our garage in order to have food in our home (of 5 kids and 2 adults). Ridiculous customer service every phone call. Possibly the least educated, rudest individuals always. Never buy from Whirlpool - worst reputation ever.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in 2014. It is a side by side with ice maker in the door. About 8 month ago the ice machine stopped working. I called an appliance repair center and they diagnosed the problem as being the control board for the ice machine. After only 3 years this stopped working? I gave them to OK to fix it. A few days later I was informed that the part is on backorder for a few months. Well a few months has become 6 months and no part is available. I contacted Whirlpool and they called me and promised a solution, but then they never contacted me again. So it is almost 7 months later and I still have no ice. How can a relatively newer product break down and then not have a part available? Whirlpool absolutely does NOT care about their customers and does NOT back their products. Stay away at all costs.

Ice build up in the freezer, water tube to the ice maker frozen, food in the fridge freezing, blah, blah. They have taped, glued, replaced everything they can and to no avail. It still happens. Lid locks our clothes in when the machine malfunctions and we have to barter with the machine for hours of Google suggestions to get the clothes back out. Still dirty. Or still soaking wet, not spun. After doing much research on refrigerators, I chose the Whirlpool with the French doors and bottom freezer. Within a month, I had to call the repair service. The freezer made a thick layer of ice on the bottom, wouldnt shut properly (I had to keep a heavy box in front of it to keep it closed) and frosted over all the food in it. On his second visit, the repair man told me that the company knows about the problem, that there was a problem in the design of the appliance, and created a piece to be installed in the machine to alleviate the problem. The problem has not been fixed with that added piece, and the repairman has been here a few more times. Now the freezer just randomly stops making ice on top of all the other problems it has. The retailer would not take the fridge back, and I refused to buy an extended warranty for an appliance that the company themselves knows is a lemon.

So it is not a power issue. Paid $180 for a Whirlpool authorized consultation and they said the Ice maker motor does has stopped working and the computer board needs to be repaired. My dark clothes come out with a white residue, and my whites come out with dirt on them that wasnt on them before washing... All this even after running an additional rinse cycle. How is this energy efficient? Not to mention, time efficient??? Crazy that once you buy something like this for this amount of money youre pretty much stuck with it... This washer is going back. It simply will not spin the water out of the clothes. It says it gets clothes drier than a conventional washer, but I have not found that to be true. I have to use the drain/spin cycle over and over and still the clothes are wet. I had the repair crew out and they were able to get it to spin out a very small load consisting of two sheets and two towels. Other than that, it does not spin out water. It is also very difficult to load if you attempt to leave the center open as they recommend. The cycles are very long. Not being able to look inside without pausing it and waiting for it to unlock is also a huge hassle. I am getting one with a glass top so I can see what is going on. If you leave it open for too long, it cancels the cycle and drains all the water, and you have to start over which is another problem because all your detergent just got drained out before the load gets going. It uses so little water on most of the cycles that the clothes get totally tangled up with one another. I think you should be able to choose the water level manually. I am all for saving water but if I want more water from time to time, this does not allow you to do that. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer in 2/2013. In 5/2014, the washer went out of balance, but corrected itself quickly. Since then, it sounds like a cement mixer during the spin cycle. It took one month to get someone to come out and look at it. Apparently the bearings went and the part alone costs $450! Add another $250-$300 for labor and I could buy another washer. We called Whirlpool, who were unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation, i.e., replace the washer, send a replacement part, give us a discount on the replacement part. We didnt buy the extended warranty because who would think that a brand new washer would crap out after 15 months... and theres only the two of us.Not like Im washing clothes for a family of 5! I only needed a new washer/dryer because I moved out of state and didnt want to move the ones I had. Regretting that decision. Its unfortunate that there has been a decline in the manufacturing of goods to the point that they can be considered a throw away item. Will NOT be replacing this with another Whirlpool.

I bought a new Whirlpool gas hot water 40 gal tank from Lowes. I Installed it, but the pilot light would not light. So Cal Gas Co came out and said they did not like the new design, but that was how they were now making them. Gas is shot out from a pipe into the tank, however its fairly open. The pilot ignitor is similar to the one on barbarques that often do not last. You cannot get to it to light it manually. Several calls were made to Whirlpool and they sent a repair man out to fix it. You can imagine buying a new hot water heater and having it work part time. The repair man explained that the unit needed a new thermopile, but he could not put one on until whirlpool authorized it, which they would not. After a rather heated conversation with whirlpool they agreed to FedEx a part overnight. Of course the repairman could not wait for me to call and had to come back again. The pilot light still does not stay lit, and Whirlpool now wants to talk about how the tank is vented. This has nothing to do with the pilot light, nor did putting in a new 1/2 gas line and valve as per Whirlpools request. Whirlpool has a problem and they refuse to acknowledge it. However, it is Lowes that chose to buy from whirlpool and they do little if anything to stand behind their product and gain consumer confidence. My suggestion would be dont buy whirlpool, and shop at Home Depot.

We have always bought whirlpool appliances, and trusted the name. We can put a man on the moon but we cant build a reliable bottom freezer refrigerator. My previous refrigerator was whirlpool. 19 yrs old when it went out for a new whirlpool bottom freezer fridge, 2014 Jan. 14 months after purchase, no warranty. The temp in freezer and upper compartment would increase and stop making ice. At first, we thought it was the icemaker. Repairman NOT FACTORY TRAINED, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.. Came and looked at it said, yep, icemaker. Plugged it in after 4 days. Just like brand new - making ice, not the icemaker. About 4 days later same problem - temp increasing. Called the store where we purchased it, sent the same repairman. He said it was a cooling fan. This went on for 2 months trying to figure the problem. Well, we cant rebuild a refrigerator out of parts it doesnt need, so we called a FACTORY TRAINED TECH who diagnosed the thermostat and defroster in the bottom of fridge taking two screws out and pulling bottom freezer out. It was iced up. Cost to fix it - 522.00. So I called whirlpool corp., explained problem. They agreed to pay for parts if we paid labor, 100.00. This is doable. However, if we continue to have problems after this, we will purchase a top freezer fridge, no ice maker because they constantly break down.

Model # WRF990SLAM00 Ser# K23919328 - It should be possible to rate this piece of junk zero stars!! Purchased on Feb 2013, it is driving me and my wife insane. It is noisy compressor wise all the time (Our kitchen and living room in the townhouse are one room). The problems started after the hurricane in 2016 killed our power for three days. I had to shut the refrigerator down to manually defrost the freezer section because the fan on the fan-coil was hitting a huge accumulation of ice. Then the weird blackouts started approx once per month where the panel light as well as the interior lights went on and off every minute with that dreadful BEEP. This went on for over 24 hrs and made living in the same room HELL. The beep and three clicks happen every minute and the cooling is none. Whirlpool service came ($80.00) just to look at it and will come back with the rest of the bill which probably will be astronomical. I feel cheated big time!! Minute and the cooling has worsened big time. Whirlpool service came ($ 80.00) just to look at it and stated it needs a new computer board as well as a new front panel on the left door.

We bought a new brand Whirlpool, ice berg, 2 door refrigerator in 2006. It worked fine for 6 months and then started giving all the problems. Until now, we have repaired it at least 10-15 times with company servicemen and also private repair shops. We are just so tired and frustrated will all that we have gone through because of this fridge. Today, the main door just came out and it is probably the 16th incident. We are hardworking people and take a lot pleasure and find lot of happiness in buying something new. It took us almost 2 years to save money for this new fridge with cost us about Rs. 20,000. But I should mention this that we have already more than Rs. 10,000 in repairs.I am sure this would just be another email in one of your inboxes but wanted to write this and convey the message that we are hurt. We do not want to take any legal actions as middle class men in India do not have the resources to do that. But I would surely not buy anything of your brand going forward and would not suggest anyone for it. Writing this in assumption that you understand the pain middle class men goes through to but something worth Rs. 20k and spends another Rs. 10k for repairs. We had high expectations from your product but that was not to be.Following were the problems we face in last 4 years: 1. Refrigerator not cooling (5-7 times); 2. Top door broken (1 time); 3. Main door broken (1 time); 4. Water leak problems (5-7 times). I hope someone will read this and forward it to concerned department.

We purchased a Duet from Lowes just a few months ago. Within 2 weeks we had an inoperable machine. After 2 phone calls a service technician came out and looked it over. He had to come back a total of three times to replace the motherboard. That worked for about six weeks and it died again. He came out again and replaced the motherboard again. Fast forward two months and the machine is once again inoperable. When plugged in, it makes an ominous growling sound but nothing else happens. The idiot who designed this thing has no common sense. Its programmed so that it will LOCK on any failure. Not only has every one of these episodes left us with a load of clothes in there getting moldy, you cant even get to the model number or serial numbers; both of which are only visible inside the rim of the machine. So adding insult to injury, your machine is broken, your clothes are in there getting ruined, and YOU CANT EVEN GET TO THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO SET UP THE SERVICE CALL. If it had only happened once, Id laugh, but this is the third time and its not funny. We bought this machine because it said proudly made in USA. Next time, Ill support the Korean economy and buy a reliable, durable Samsung. The only positive I can offer is that the Whirlpool live chat person was able to set up the service call for me even though I cant get to the relevant data inside the machine. I purchased a replacement gas range (whirlpool) approximately 3 years ago. Its not the top of the line, no bells or whistles such as a self-cleaning oven or such. I did love the three huge grates on top, one which is interchangeable with a flat grill. If it only worked it would be a decent range. The center oblong burner struggled to ignite in full from the beginning. Often, I light the thing with a grill lighter. But the thing that pisses me off more than anything is the F2 error that appears 70% of the time on the control panel when I am preheating the freaking oven. I am NOT replacing the control panel on a $400.00 range. What I have discovered is I can hit off my power at the main, not once, but 2-3xs and reset or over ride the damn thing. I read this F2 code is a common occurrence so I got to thinking, why? My conclusion is the heat from the oven is vented up & directly on the control board panel. Really now, whos bright idea was it to expose a control board to repeated temps of 350+? Hate this appliance. Next range will NOT be a new one, Im looking to replace this junk with something mom or grandma had that lasted decades, not a couple years. Shame on you Whirlpool for producing such low quality, disposable products. By the way, I just went through this with a new fridge so theres much to be desired with new appliances. Theyre junk, designed to fail.

In 2013, my husband purchased a Whirlpool Hot Water Heater model #E2F40RD045V 40 gal. from Lowes in Vancouver, WA. On 12/12/15, had to call a plumber, the hot water heater was intermittent hot/cold. He flushed it, checked all power connections and changed the elements. On 3/18/16, NO hot water. Having a 6 year warranty, I called Whirlpool. They gave all kinds of excuses and told me to try a bunch of tests. By the time I got back to call them they were closed. I called them again on Monday 3/21/16 and said nothing worked and it had popped the breaker. They said change the elements. I told them I had just changed the elements 3 months before. I told them it was faulty wiring. They said the top element must be faulty. I gave up at that point and called the plumber. He came right out the next day. I had purchased a Rheem hot water heater to install and asked him to check the Whirlpool hot water heater elements he installed before he removed it. That is when it was discovered that under the insulation around the bottom element it was all scorched from FAULTY wiring. I called Whirlpool again and told them I could send them a picture and they said dont bother and immediately gave me an RA to return the hot water heater to Lowes. I told them I had already purchased another hot water heater and it was not a Whirlpool. I am going to request a refund.

My wife and I purchased the Whirlpool French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator
My wife and I purchased the Whirlpool French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator in April 2013. Thank God we purchased the extended warranty. In June 2014 the ice maker quit working and delivering water. We have had the service contractor that WHIRLPOOL has qualified for all repairs. They have set up FIVE appointments to resolve the issue, all of which I had to leave work to meet because they do not provide any scheduled service outside the hours of 8am to 4pm. The first time they came the service man told me that WHIRLPOOL RECOGNIZES THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW BECAUSE THESE ARE NOTORIOUS FOR FREEZING UP AND NOT WORKING. I asked the repair man if there has been a recall because of this, he said no because WHIRLPOOL WILL JUST REPAIR THE ONES PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT! I called Whirlpool headquarters today. The advisor said he will register my complaint. I asked, Is that it? What does that mean? He said, I cant tell you what happens after I register the complaint. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT. I hope this may help someone NOT make the same mistake. If you need to talk to someone in upper level management to discuss your issue, forget it...they want the position but no accountability.

If you come across any problem or issue with washing machine, the service person will come and will have a typical vouge glance of the washing machine.. and the inner bearing problem etc. He will arrange a call with his boss.. who also tells the same thing… and collects Rs 450/- as visiting charges and goes. They ask you to bring the Washing machine to their showroom... on account of repair they do all nonsense and do replace some parts which are not at all required...*** Instead of going to the show room first, if you take second opinion from any local repair technician... you will be shocked to know that hardly it is very minimum problem like loose connection, biting of wires by rats or other problem which would just resolved in front of us..But certainly not the Big issue as these show room service mafia does.. I have encountered the same brought the same to the notice of the Care Manager Mr.**.. But no proper answer... One should understand that there is big mafia kind of activity just betraying the customers.. Please beware of the frauds of the Whirlpool Washing machine Servicing Team..

I purchased and had professionals install a Whirlpool 30-gallon water heater in 2007. Since that time I have had issues with the unit not staying lite, but have been able to deal with it myself. Then in November 2011, it wouldnt work. After paying a plumber to come out and check everything, we got on the phone with Whirlpool who goes through their generic checklist, and after all that they agreed the control was no good. They sent a replacement part out at which time I had to pay to have put in. Now, March 2012, the same thing is going on with the unit. Customer service is their same polite self and have to go through their checklist, but unfortunately we were cut off. This was followed by calls and trying to get the same operator, who was supposed to call me back. It didnt happen. I then called and was hung up on. Finally, I had to work with another operator who again wanted to go through her checklist! She finally agreed the same control unit must be bad and is sending me a new one so I can pay to have it installed! They will not admit the unit is bad and replace it completely. I guess when buying Whirlpool you need to understand they dont back their products. It appears to be normal that a control unit from Whirlpool only has a life expectancy of 3 or 4 months. Last Whirlpool I ever buy!

Whirlpool’s customer service is one of the worst I have encountered. They consider a 6-7 year old $1500.00 range to be old! I said to her, “Wow, if the population was to throw their Whirlpool appliances into the landfills after 7 years, this would be quite a horrendous situation.” I think its disgusting for a company to build appliances with a shelf life of 6-7 years and with only a 1-year warranty! What a horrible brand! I will never buy another Whirlpool brand product ever again. You spend $1500.00 on a range oven and then around 5 to 7 years the control board blows out and costs another $500.00 to replace plus a service agents fee to remove and install.I asked the Whirlpool agent if I could get the control board discounted and she refused and said, “I am sorry, we are unable to help you.” Pathetic! Their cost on these boards is around $120.00 or so. I was told by an appliance service rep they could discount that $500.00 board even half and still make a decent profit. Do not ever buy Whirlpool. Go with other brands instead. Their customer service policies are horrible. Your hard-earned money will be buying an appliance with a 6 to 7-year shelf life before major repairs.

The W/D combo-Cabrio is crap... Dont buy it. Salesperson @ Lowes told us all washers moving away from the agitator to ones like this so we bought it. The washers does not clean everything - does not use enough water to clean - leaves your delicates so wrinkled and clothes in general beat up. The dryer decides when it thinks your clothes are dry when they are actually still very wet... very noisy. Whirlpool must have sold out because quality integrity sure is gone.

We purchased our refrigerator about five years ago and we have dealt with it freezing up constantly. The coals and vent are at the bottom of the refrigerator. I believe that is a lot of the problem. We have continuously blowed off the coals to keep it from freezing up but sometimes its still freezes up. I do not recommend the two-sided door Whirlpool refrigerator.

I purchased a Whirlpool range YGY399LXUQ in 2012 from a great local appliance store, Trail Appliances. In 2013 the control panel stopped working and I contacted Trail. They quickly came out and replaced the control panel. In 2014 the same issue came up, but Trail could and would not do anything so I contacted Whirlpool Directly - they came out and replaced the control panel. In 2015 (same month) the control panel is not working AGAIN and Whirlpool has washed their hands of it. A replacement is over $400 + installation. The stove is barely worth that much. I would have thought that they would stand behind their product, in that this is an obvious continual issue or at the very least the service that they provide. I would not recommend their ranges to anyone because they will not stand behind what they product nor will I ever purchase anything that Whirlpool makes as it is obviously low quality.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 2 years ago and until last week it was fine. We got an error message that said we had to call for service so we called a local whirlpool repairman. The repair guy told us it was the control panel and it was going to cost between $400 to $500. He also said that he works on a lot of whirlpool washers and this is the first time he saw a machines control panel fail. He recommended that we call Whirlpool.I called Whirlpool customer service and after waiting on the phone for 40 minutes I was quickly transferred to customer resolution and was told that since I hadnt purchased the extended warranty there was nothing that they could do for me. I kept asking her, There is nothing that you can do to help me? And the consistent answer was no. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance. This has been so frustrating to have an appliance that looks brand new and wont work. The manufacturer wont even try to help with fixing the problem. Amazing AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Bought set 12/5/14 at Lowes Tucson. First load came out with shirts looking like theyd been scrubbed with sandpaper. Called Whirlpool & was advised to use higher water level for loads. Then noticed small hole in my favorite shirt. Oh well. Next I found an area in my king sized bottom sheet with several holes and torn fibers. Thought maybe it might be from my toenails, except it wasnt where my feet would be. Finally a pair of capris (just worn twice) found with same type of holes and torn fibers. Dryer also inefficient. Balls up clothes - outside dry; inside wet. Re-run one or two inside wet pieces and they dont dry at all! What kind of technology is this?

They are about as worthless as box of rocks. They refuse to replace the thermocoupling free of charge or at least no shipping charge, when they know in fact there is a problem. It was because no class action lawsuit was filed. Its too bad for the customers. I wished they would have just said: “lady, please take your business somewhere else.” It would have made things easier. Or, better yet, they should just put a sign on their water heaters in the store stating: “If you have problems with our product, sorry about your luck. ** you and have a nice day.”

In 2011 we bought a Whirlpool Washer (WTW4950XW). We had a one year warranty. There have been problems ever since we bought it. Of course it is no longer under warranty. In the last few months we have encountered brown spots on clothing. The washer has always spent an inordinate amount of time Scanning. It does not matter how much I readjust the load. I ALWAYS must do an extra Spin and Drain. Sometimes Rinse and Drain helps...sometimes not. Sometimes the machine indicates it MIGHT be finished washing but only the clothing on the bottom of the load is damp. It does not rinse the soap out. Recently when I washed my husbands coat several times -- he had to finally hang it in the shower when he bathed to get the soap out.We had repairmen out once when we had the warranty. They said the drainage hose was wrong. We adjusted that. I called Whirlpool more than once about our problems. They said they could not help because we had no warranty. OK. One young lady said we could get a 5 year warranty for $353. For $499 we might get a machine without all the 747 dials and tweets and fewer government, EPA amenities. Whats wrong with this picture? My old washer lasted 30 years. We are very, very sorry we did not repair it. All I want is a washer that will provide me with clean clothing, towels, sheets and blankets in a timely manner. That does not seem to me to be too much to expect. I am considering a washboard! Or the shower for ALL my laundry! I am angry and frustrated. I always considered Whirlpool a good brand.

I purchased a home from Pulte and closed in June of 2020 and had no choice but to take Whirlpool appliances. Pulte does not offer high end appliances in order to maximize their profit. The first thing that failed after only 3 months was the Microwave and because we didnt want to get the same cheap microwave we upgraded and paid 400 for a Kitchen Aid, same size but never received the trim kit that matches the oven that came in sometime in October 2020. It is now January 2022 and we are still waiting for the trim kit. Every time we call to find out we spend hours on the phone. The refrigerator is a cheap version of the worst refrigerator made in China, the ice maker works ok but ice gets stuck in the chute and when it doesnt get stuck half goes to the glass and the other half to the floor. Poor design and we are stuck with it. Tried to buy an LG from Costco but it wont go through the door so again we are stuck with this small refrigerator with no room for groceries for two people. Stovetop is also cheap, only looks good the day we got the house, one of the burners would go off when turned to low with gas still flowing. Grates look 10 years old but must admit we cook every day. Oven will not calibrate and it is not accurate so we have learned to set everything 10 degrees higher to make up for the variance. Dishwasher had issues as well, unless you run it for 3 hours the shorter settings always have dishes or utensils still soiled. Warranties have expired after one year so it is now time to replace almost everything if we want decent appliances. Very disappointed but I blame Pulte for buying cheap.

I am sure this will be removed quickly... But my advice to my fellow consumers is do not purchase Whirlpool appliances. They do not stand behind their products and they are a nightmare to deal with. I purchased my range (Model WEE730H0D50) May 8, 2017 and from that day the oven never work (the board was out on a brand new product). They arranged a service tech to come out 3 times. Each time the service tech discovered the replace board was damaged. So I have not been able to use my oven since I bought it in May. 3 months later now the stove top stopped working. You would think after all these issues they would replace their product. But nope I have to wait 2 weeks to get this lemon serviced again... I have young children at home which makes things worse...

On Saturday afternoon, March 31 at 4:30 PM Eastern Time, my roper washer that was purchased on April 17, 2011 overflowed from the top. Water went into the air ducts and completely fried my security system. My husband was out of town at this time on business. The water went into the terrace level of my house and ruined the carpet, walls and ceiling. The restoration and insurance companies came immediately and were a tremendous help. I felt very safe with them even though they were in my house until 1:00 AM Sunday morning. My husband and I visited our Lowe’s store where we had purchased the washer. They told us to contact Whirlpool which we did on Monday, April 2. We were assured by Whirlpool that we would have a Whirlpool employee in our home to fix the washer. We were also told that we could not move the washer. After speaking with a Whirlpool representative, we received an email confirming the repair person would be in our home on Wednesday to repair the washer. During this time, I had to go to the laundry to wash clothes. This cost me $26.00. On Wednesday afternoon when no one had shown up to repair the washer, my husband had to call Whirlpool only to be told that the repairman would not be coming but he would be there on Thursday between 10:00 and 1:00. He arrived at 12:45 and the nightmare began. He had an “I dont care” attitude and if my husband had not been at home, I would have been very uncomfortable. After looking at the washer, he said a part would have to be ordered and it would be the next week before he could fix it. I asked him what I was to do about clothes to be washed. He replied go to the laundry, he was just the repairman. He also said I could use the washer but not to put a full load. On Tuesday night, April 8th, I was washing and I had the washer on medium load and the washer started leaking from the bottom. We still have not heard from the repairman, today is Thursday. Also, my husband and I work outside the home. It would have been so much easier to have the washer replaced but instead we have to wait. We had a washer to be delivered on Tuesday, April 2nd, but we are still waiting on them. Most of the restoration work other than the washer has been completed. Thank you.

I bought a pair front loading washer & Dryer May this year and took Delivery in June. First problem was with touch controls. I should have Known then it would be trouble, they replaced it then we went home to Fl. - Aug. Returned in Oct - used the machine eight times total and it locked up with our Clothes inside in water. Called for service, was told it would be a week before someone could come, then was told after four days it was the mother Board and it would take at least another week to get our clothes out. Their Service is the worst I ever have dealt with. The whole house - we Bought Whirlpool based on the Maytags we bought for our House in 2004. Never a problem but those Maytags were Maytag - not whirlpool. I would never buy any Whirlpool Appliances again. Ive never considered writing a complaint before, but feel it is necessary in this situation. I have had my Whirlpool refrigerator since November, 2007. It has worked great until this past April when the freezer began to overfreeze, cause frost and ice to build up. I have had Whirlpool Factory Service out to repair the unit twice a month since April with still no resolution and the appointments are getting harder and harder to get someone to come out in a timely fashion. I called on September 1st and the closet appointment is September 15th. They werent even able to book the appointment when I called. I was told someone would call back within 3/4 days. When I didnt hear back today, I called to find out an appointment was set.Ive called the Resolution Team to obtain back records of service but havent been successful in receiving a phone call or email. I havent received all of the follow up emails after service which is frustrating since there have been two technicians that have come out for repair and were not provided any history on the unit. If I had the follow up emails, I would be able to share that information with them.I contacted Customer Service to find out what I can do in regards to the issue I am having and was told its best to stay with the service provider that I began with since they are familiar with the issue. I would imagine if they are familiar with the issue that it should have been fixed by now. Ive also sent a response card back to Whirlpool Home Appliances at the Survey Response Center and havent heard anything from them either. When I called to follow up there wasnt anyone that could point me in the right direction to obtain answers. They were able to provide me with the mailing address for Consumer Affairs though. Ive been told numerous times that if it gets to a point it costs too much to fix they will replace the unit. Im not sure when that decision is made. I have an extended contract and will extend it again in October when it expires. I just want the unit fixed or replaced. Its been since April with the same issue. Very disappointed consumer.
