Product Reviews:

11 months after purchasing my Whirlpool 40 Gal Gas Water Heater N40T61-343
11 months after purchasing my Whirlpool 40 Gal Gas Water Heater N40T61-343 I woke to cold water one morning and found the LED flashing 4 times - high temperature shutdown. Unable to find any reset I called Whirlpool and after a couple questions, was sent a replacement control unit. Happily it arrived 2 days later. I was told then that it was because I had residue in the tank. I had no idea how he determined that because none of his questions even touched on that. Anyway, I had hot water.Nearly a year later now to the day and again I have no hot water. This time the pilot burns very weakly when I try to light it and then goes out. After three attempts I get 7 flashes on the LED - Gas Control Valve Failure, part of the same unit I replaced a year ago. Am calling tomorrow since its too late to go through any tech support steps over the phone that Im reading about on this site and seeing on Youtube. Honestly, I didnt replace the last heater because I had nothing better to do than replace parts on this one annually. No, I will not purchase another Whirlpool unit especially after reading all of the similar if not identical issues others are having.

I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher. It has a plastic removable cap to pour in the liquid for their Rinse Aid drying. It is something like a bottle cap, a 25 cent part. I lost it. I called up, they wanted 12 dollars for the part and 9 dollars for shipping. They refused to just put it in an envelope and put a 30 cent stamp on it.

This is NOT a true review of the oven as I have not used it for baking yet. I just wanted to make a comment about my new oven which was installed this morning. I turned it on as instructed and heated at the high temperature to rid it of the odours. When it is turned completely off the cooling down process begins, which blows the hot air from the oven into the room, causing some annoyance from the hot air, as well as the noise. Not sure I am going to be so happy in summer. I am certain it is a wonderful product for baking results, but with this annoying feature, I am not feeling so happy about it.

I purchased a Whirlpool top load washer that has been ruining my wasted items. My terry cloth towels all have pulls in them, knit polo shirts have pulls and holes, sheets and other items of clothing get caught and stuck under the agitator which then take a great deal of muscle power and struggle to release them. I have had the agitator replaced 3 times to no avail! Whirlpool is not willing to admit that I have a defective machine and will be sending another service repairman to try and fix the problem - this time, no charge to me after many tries and frustration. Customer service is not good unless you are lucky enough to get a supervisor who is willing to listen. We shall see what this next service call brings. I do not have high hopes and will keep you informed.

What happened to the Whirlpool Corporation that we grew up with? I purchased a Cabrio Washer on 8-29-11. Here it is, 4-24-13 and the transmission is shot. Two loads of clothes were ruined and sensors went bad. All in all, over $500 to repair it. I called the customer service line, what a joke - bad product and worse customer service. Not even and Im sorry. Well it is out from under warranty and when I buy something, I research it first, she said. Wow! Thanks Reena for all your care and concern. I dont know if Ill ever buy Whirlpool again.

After 2 months of owning this fridge (Whirlpool Model WRF993FIFM) it started making a horrible buzzing noise that you could hear all around the house, both ice makers stopped working, and it wasnt cooling properly. After three technician visits, and of course having to miss work to have the technicians come to my house, my fridge still doesnt work. The most recent visit today was from 2pm until almost 8pm, yes seriously 6 hours, and now the noise has gotten even louder and my ice makers still dont work. AND after the tech left, my carbon monoxide detectors were going off for almost an hour. We had to open all of our windows and sit outside to not DIE of carbon monoxide poisoning. So beyond livid with this situation. Its been a month since Ive had a properly working fridge. Whirlpool needs to do right and fix this situation. I will be calling tomorrow first thing.

I purchased my Whirlpool washer and dryer 4 yrs ago. I was planning on purchasing Samsung but the saleswoman at Gils in Bristol, RI strongly recommended this junk!! A washer and dryer should not quit after 4 yrs w/ a household of 2. The dryer never dried properly. Each load took 2 cycles. Yes, repair were called and we were told its a design flaw. The washer just stopped spinning. Repair will would have been $550. These pieces of junk were replaced by GE electric stackables. Fingers crossed....they are working satisfactory!

Front-loading does not do good job of rinsing. The Whirlpool Duet will not last longer than 2 years. Whirlpool recommends that owners purchase a new washer every 2 years. Whirlpool suggests owners purchase new clothes each week to avoid washing. Any owner would be required to quit their job in order to wash clothes. The Whirlpool Duet front-loader requires 12 hours per load. This means that only 2 loads can be washed in a 24-hour period. Each load requires 10 rinse cycles to remove suds.

After happily using Maytag washers at my old address for 30 some years, I moved to my current address and in 2006 I purchased a new Maytag. In 2010 I needed service. I was advised it had a bad bearing and was not advised to repair as it would cost well over $600.00. I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio top loading HE appliance. The Cabrio worked well until one day it made a horrible noise. Although it still worked, I called for service and was told it had a bad bearing and would cost $670.00 to fix and they advised against it. After the service call, it never worked again. I know things dont last like they used to but 4 years is ridiculous. I have been advised that Whirlpool bought Maytag. Is this what to expect from so called reputable companies?

I have had my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine for 14 years. I feel this is very dependable and cleans my clothes efficiently. I love the large stainless steel tub without the agitator. I can fit a king size comforter in the machine. The only problem I had with it was to clean the lint out which I would assume would have to be done to any machine that is used every other day for 14 years. Love it!

Upon calling the service center again, they said that few more things needs to be repaired once again and for that fridge needs to be moved to their workshop and for that they will be charging 1600 Rs again. Upon asking for the refund for the useless spare part, the rude service person said ek din k liye to chale tha na fridge, fir kis baat ka refund... Bought a home with a Whirlpool WRF540CWBM01 french door refrigerator circa Oct 2016. The unit stopped freezing/cooling and the appliance guy replaced a relay and this did not help. I called Whirlpool to check on the warranty, only 1 year. Then, I called the extended warranty and they wanted $342 for 1 year and $567 for 3 year but wanted 60 days before this would go into effect. Hmm, wait 2 months w/out a working fridge, great idea. So, after 2 short years the compressor failed and nobody will attempt this job and cost is too high. Had to buy a new GE fridge w/ a 5-year parts/labor covering this type of issue. Whirlpool needs to fix these issues. Very disappointed.

To be fair to Whirlpool, I have contacted them but have not given them time
To be fair to Whirlpool, I have contacted them but have not given them time to respond. I feel so strongly about this issue that I want to get the message about this company product out. About 2 years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool fridge, stove, and dishwasher. I have had so many problems with the stove (WFG540H0AS0) that it has pissed me off, actually. First, the knobs that control the stove top melted. MELTED! We had to replace them to the tune of $30.00 each and there are 5. Why would anyone use knobs that cannot withstand heat on a stove?! News flash, I cook on my stove. Therefore, there will be heat used. Second, the oven keeps shutting off in the middle of cooking my holiday meal. Of course, this made my turkey take much longer than usual. Today, it shut off in the middle of cupcakes. Third, the oven does ignite without turning it on and off multiple times. So we called the repair person who told us to replace the ignition switch for it. This helped for about one month. Then the problem started again. I just emailed Whirlpool and I will call them next business day. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool. I thought they had a good reputation for quality products.

I purchased a Whirlpool French Door refrigerator (G16FDRXXY07) from h.h.gre
I purchased a Whirlpool French Door refrigerator (G16FDRXXY07) from h.h.gregg appliances and electronics in Columbia, South Carolina, on August 3, 2012. It was delivered and installed on August 11, 2012. It functioned well for three weeks, and then temperature of refrigerator dropped to 25F. Vegetables and eggs got frozen. I made a service call to Sloan Appliance Service as soon as I was aware of the problem. In the 3rd visit, the thermometer was replaced after troubleshooting. After replacing the thermometer, the temperature of the whole refrigerator got higher than it was supposed to be. Refrigerator got around 53F, and freezer got 34F. All foods in the refrigerator got spoiled. In the past six weeks, the company sent technicians to my house to check the problem, and they tried to fix this refrigerator for 5 times. The situation got worse and worse. I have not had a functional refrigerator for 6 weeks. A technician came with a compressor on 10/22/2012 to see if replacing it could fix the problem. When he cut the copper pipe, he found that refrigerant was leaked out. There is no refrigerant at all. He refilled refrigerant without changing compressor. Because he thought the leak was slow, it should be caused by the evaporator. He thought it should work and last long enough when a technician comes back with evaporator replacement. It turned out what the technician thought was wrong. The temperature of both refrigerator and freezer did not drop to normal, 53F/34F. The problem persists. I called Whirlpool customer support line several times. The response I got was that Whirlpool would not replace for having manufactured a faulty appliance during manufacture warranty. They can only keep sending technician onsite to check and repair. For 6 weeks and 5 times onsite visits/repairs, this newly purchased refrigerator still does not function.

I am told that I have pay for the repairs this time even though it is the same problem. I was offered a modest discount to purchase a new refrigerator. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. After 7 attempts to fix my 6-year-old Whirlpool Front Load Washer (original price $991.00) I had to trash it. Then I stupidly bought another Whirlpool Front Loader (WFW75HEFW) Feb 2017. It has not worked properly since day 1. The clothes come out dripping wet. At first I thought I was doing something wrong. I tried every cycle, limited amount of clothing and ran additional spin cycles to no avail. Finally I gave up and called for service.Whirlpool is very much aware that a number of their machines came off the line with defective spin bearings but they wont admit to it. Instead I am expected to have it repaired! It involves the entire inside of the machine being rebuilt. Its a 2 man job that will take 3-4 hours. This is totally unacceptable and it is obvious Whirlpool does not make a quality product nor do they value customer satisfaction. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PURCHASE A WHIRLPOOL WASHER. They are difficult to work with and I for one will never purchase or recommend any of their products. I purchased this washer from Home Depot and now my only hope is that they will honor my intention of purchasing a non-defective product. If not, I guess Im in for another miserable experience with a Whirlpool product.

I explained that my GE stove and dishwasher, along with other stainless steel in my kitchen have never rusted. The Whirlpool company provided no help whatsoever and does not back up their warranty. I will never buy another Whirlpool again or recommend them to anyone, and discourage anyone from buying one. I bought a Cabrio washing machine just over 2 years ago and yesterday I received an F51 error code. The manual says that this code requires a technician to come a check for repairs. Well, before I do anything I google the problem, and lo and behold there are thousands of complaints about this issue with the Cabrio models. Some saying that what needed to be replaced were a control board ($280) and a rotor (unknown amount), not including the price of labor. Some said that Whirlpool knows about this problem and they covered the parts and repair. This didnt get my hopes up, but I called customer service and of course they said that there were no reported issues with the model and that what I found on the internet was probably an older model. Of course! The lady on the phone told me that they would not cover the costs and it would be anywhere from $300 to $500 depending on the route I wanted to take. That is a 1/3 to 1/2 the price I paid for the machine. This is ridiculous! I am tempted to just get rid of the washer and go with a better company that actually cares about their customers. This error code was definitely something they know is a big deal if there was nothing I could do about it other than call a technician. I paid almost $1000 for a machine that has barely lasted 2 years before I have to pay money to have it fixed. Not a company I would ever purchase anything from again!

Whirlpool Gold Series French door, bottom freezer. - This fridge is beautiful. Thats as far as the pros go for it. The Freon is leaking and cant be repaired because of where the leak is coming from. I can always tell when its time for a recharge because it leaks water profusely when at a low charge (every 4 to 6 weeks). We paid over $1800 for this fridge back in 2013. It has been just over two years and we are now having to replace this fridge. I cant express my frustration at this point. Whirlpool wont do anything to help us. I bought a portable dishwasher on 6/29/15. It didnt clean well, didnt drain properly. (I followed guidelines from the USER INFORMATION and used rinse). I called a plumber to clean out my pipes. My dishes were still dirty. I purchased an entire soft water system from Culligan. My dishes were still dirty. I called Whirlpool and Pacific Sales where I bought the machine, and got no assistance. On 10/2014 I spent $263.50 to repair and replace parts so the machine would drain. Sometime in January of 2015 it stopped draining again. I just got off the phone with Whirlpool who will not take any responsibility for this lemon. You offered me a policy to purchase for over $200!!! You want me to spend MORE money on a machine that never worked right???? How is that help? How is that standing behind your product? Then there was some lame offer to pay for parts, ONLY if I used your extremely expensive repair people and pay for labor, and $139 just to show up at my door. I asked who I can write to or talk to about this and was told by Sherri that there was no one to talk to but her. Really? Give me a reason to ever consider a Whirlpool product and to not slam Whirlpool whenever someones considering it.

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in 2010, model #ED2KHAXVB01, side by side with ice maker. Fortunately, we purchased a 5-year service contract at the same time because the ice maker has broken twice. Unfortunately, I have had to replace the shelves while still under warranty quite a few times. The sides of these glass shelves are made of poor quality plastic and crack constantly. The drawers are the same way. The refrigerator is no longer under the warranty and Whirlpool wants $109 per shelf. I told them I would pay for replacement shelves only if they could send shelves that were made with better quality materials. Otherwise, I might be spending $1000 per year replacing shelves. The Whirlpool representative told me there is nothing that they can do. I see many people with this problem posting complaints on the internet. Do not buy a Whirlpool refrigerator. I have been married for 37 years and never had to replace one shelf in any refrigerator and still have a 40-year old refrigerator in my basement with no broken shelves!

We purchased a Whirlpool oven a year and a half ago. Today the interior glass exploded while cooking frozen French fries. Whirlpool customer service indicates that this is unusual. Whirlpool indicated that the only way they will repair it is if we pay $375. We declined to pay an additional cost for this product which failed to function safely. In a quick Google search, it appears that the oven glass fails more frequently than represented by Whirlpool. We are disappointed in this product and the companys customer support and lack willingness to correct a product safety issue.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio with the touch panel and top loader. The absolute worst. The machine leaves white marks all over dark clothes even when the extra rinse feature is used. Ive tried multiple detergents, skipping fabric softener completely, using very little detergent, and even tried different water temperatures. Nothing works. And should one have to go through such extremes to not have white streaks left on dark clothes? Absolutely not especially for the money spent. The machine wrinkles clothes like I have never see before. The dryer usually gets them out but not always. They are mangled after washing. Using the first or second spin speed helps reduce some but they are wetter going into the dryer that way. If I wash bed clothes, the tight fitting sheet that fits snugly around the mattress must be washed alone. If not, all the other items end up encased in it as if youve intentionally packed it that way to carry everything around. This leaves everything absolutely soaked. I have also had shirts come out with dry spots on them. How does a piece of clothing come out of a washer with more than one dry spot on it? And no I did not over pack the machine.I have had no problems with the dryer. It does its job so no complaints on that. I would not recommend the Whirlpool Cabrio to my worst enemy. Complete waste of time, money, and water!!! Very disappointed and will never buy from this company again and will prevent anyone else from doing so the rest of my life. Did the company do zero testing on this machine before selling it? Because I see a lot of repetitive reviews. Or the company was well aware and did not care and just wanted to make money? Either way is unacceptable. Garbage!!!

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer a few years back... Started getting F1 error message and just proceeded thru it like most did initially, but now has become pain in the rear just to do one load of laundry as we get the error 2-3 times when we start each load - then on every load w/ 21 minutes left on the cycle. From the looks of things online this is a chronic problem and should be fixed by manufacturer. I called Whirlpool customer service and first person I talked with said they understand it is an issue but no longer are any recalls or reworks on that machine. I asked to speak w/ supervisor and sat on hold until I got one. Was then informed they do know it was a problem but was not something they could do anything about other than schedule a service company to come take a look. I specifically asked if there was at one time a recall or if they were fixing this issue for a while. She said Yes, they took care of some of their customers but are no longer doing that for this model. So basically because I didnt call in at the right time I need to fix my machine myself. I said it will be the last Whirlpool or Whirlpool associated appliance I ever purchase if this is the kind of customer service I can expect... The supervisor just said she was sorry to hear that and to have a nice day. Hopefully enough people read these reviews as I wish I would have before purchasing my Cabrio and dont buy Whirlpool.

We purchased the Whirlpool model# BFG1J4040T3NOV 40 gallon natural gas hot water tank in the spring of 2010. The pilot light went out this weekend, 2011. And it will re-light but does not stay lit. This was bought at Lowes, rated as a 9-year warranty on the tank and parts. This is premature failure of a product that is listed as 9 years. Due to all the other similar complaints of this Whirlpool hot water tank, I would like my money back plus installation. I do not want the Whirlpool replacement as obviously it does not work. I will use a different brand and vet it much better in the future. We almost purchased at Home Depot but decided it would be a better bet to go with the Whirlpool reputation and name and Lowes than with the only Home Depot option, which is the self branded water heaters. It was a big mistake!

Purchased Whirlpool Dishwasher 1 year ago. I use the Dishwasher once a week. When the Dishwasher was originally installed, immediately I noticed when dishes were placed the racks, there is an annoying squeaking sound. I am not exaggerating but the noise can be heard from my sidewalk outside! I called Whirlpool and a technician was sent to my residence. There is nothing wrong with your Dishwasher. I was told to Grease the racks. One year later I still have the same issue! I placed the phone near the Dishwasher to have the Customer Service Rep hear the Loud Squeaking and to no avail. I will never ever buy another product from Whirlpool. Now the latch will not close to the door! I rarely use this appliance, only placing dishes and utensils. No Pots and Pans!!!!! This is going to be another huge bill I will be responsible for paying and I dont feel it is of my own doing. It seems to be apparent that Whirlpool does not stand by their products!!!! I am sure they are aware of all these issues, customers are complaining and nothing seems to be done from reading some of these posts. I am wondering why they are still in business.

Whirlpool with four burner and the model that you self-clean the oven. It had all the features I wanted and Whirlpool has been around for a long time. Cost was right for my budget and it had all the options to it. I would have to move it out from the wall to find the model. Love the oven and the fact that I dont have to use caustic cleaners to clean it but simply have to wipe the dust out. One burner does not work and I will have to get it repaired. I shopped at a scratch and dent sale. The price was right and I could barely see the scratch and it had all the usual warranties. I need moderately priced appliances and if there were expensive features on it that I have not previously used, I would probably decline it. I do basic cooking and do not need expensive accessories. I can on my range and I have found the burners do not hold up well for canning. The burner I use for canning is the only one I have had problems with. That is the only problem I have had with the range at all. If anyone plans to can, consider purchasing the coil that is heavier to sustain the weight of the heavy canner. I would not be afraid to purchase Whirlpool again. My range is about 10 years old and other than that burner, I have had no difficulty. It is a mid-price range.

I have never posted a negative product review but must do so now. The refrigerator is 1 1/2 years old at most and has been well taken care of. I noticed today that the finish at either side of the bottom of each refrigerator door handle has a problem. I couldnt tell if the finish was pitting or is just discolored. I called customer service and expected that they would help, especially since we have an extended warranty. Representative number one told me that the extended warranty only covers problems that affect the function of the product. I spoke to her supervisor and then her supervisor. I got plenty of apologies but no support. I offered to send pictures, but they were not even interested in checking out the problem. After speaking to them, I took the handle off and I see now that the handle cut into some sort of film that exists on the metal. (I am not talking about the protective plastic coating that is on the the refrigerator at delivery.) The film is lifting off the surface and creating discoloration. If Whirlpool was at all concerned, I think this issue could be fixed with some sort of gasket to keep the metal handle from cutting into the surface. Im hoping the problem is static, but hard to say what will happen. If they had been interested in trying to understand the cause of the problem, it would have been easier to accept the limitations of the warranty. It would have demonstrated an interest in avoiding this problem for other consumers in the future. My last Whirlpool product. Period. Good luck if you decide to do business with them.

We bought a duet washer and dryer about 3 1/2 years ago. In that time, we had many error codes that we had to research online and fix. We have replaced many things to date. However, this last code,F70, has really been the last straw. Basically you are better off buying a new washer and staying away from Whirlpool. We had a company tech come and diagnose the washer. This code says that its the interface board. The company has replace this board 3 times and the code is still coming up. They have basically replaced everything in our washer and the code remains the same. Nothing is fixing it. They have had Whirlpool-certified employees come in to look at the washer and are unable to fix it as well. They have been trying to fix it for 2 months. I called Whirlpool corporate office and they informed me that the company that we went with is not Whirlpool-certified, therefore the only thing they will do is either give us 15 % of our money back if we were to by a new washer, or we can have a certified dealer come out and diagnose it again. Well, that is just a waste of time. We already know whats wrong with it and would have to pay again to have it diagnosed or we totally loose a lot of money. I feel that Whirlpool really should stand behind their products, considering the price tags they have on them. They should last much longer than 3 1/2 years. I will not by another Whirlpool product again. Apparently, Whirlpool doesnt seem to care about loosing customers. I dont feel that they deserve any stars but it doesnt allow to pick a negative number.

The knob on the Gas Cook top stove from Whirlpool (Part no: W10594481) is very poorly designed. It is very flimsy and breaks easily inside. Outside it still looks intact, but if you examine it on the reverse side, where it actually fits into the cooktops metal rod to turn the gas up or down, we can see it breaks there, as it is made of very cheap plastic. Although it is supposed to be a Stainless steel knob, it is actually all plastic where it matters most. I bought the new cook top from Whirlpool in 2014 and within a year have replaced all the knobs as they were breaking once every couple of months. I am still having this problem after 2 years now. I have contacted Whirlpool and have asked for a solution to this problem. They dont have any, other than offering a new version of the knob which costs $10 more and it is not easily available anywhere. Terrible! I bought the washer in December of 2010. We began finding holes in clothes in March of 2011. We found that we had a small crack in our dryer. After trying to fix it ourselves, the crack came back. So, we replaced the dryer. After we replaced the dryer, we began to find more holes in our clothes. It was not the dryer causing the holes, but our duet Whirlpool washer. We had several drain error instances as well. We have had the service repair man out several times for the drain error problem. Ranging from a Mardi Gras bead in the drain pump, to several baby socks to a large adult tube sock. Id say its been at least 7 times. We had finally had enough of our clothes, which I would estimate to be at least $500 worth of clothing, the service repair man said he had never seen anything like it. That was in November of 2011. They said they would replace the tub and drum system but it would take several weeks to get the part in, which took us past our warranty. After numerous complaints, Whirlpool offered the best they could do, that was to extend our warranty (6 additional months). The first drum was broken upon delivery, so another would have to be ordered. There goes another week. Finally it came in. We were all but assured the problem would be fixed. Two days later, same drain error code! 3 more socks caught in the drain pump! Took the socks out myself after watching them do it so I didnt have to call them out again and pay the fee. Next day, there were more holes in clothes! Called and and they said they cant get a service guy out for at least a week! That was all during the Christmas and New Years holidays! January 9th, the service repair man came and said, Yep, its the same problem. We need to replace the tub and drum again. The part would be guaranteed to be in by Friday, January 13th!Guess what? Today I got a call, the parts were on back-order and it wont be until January 24th until they can become available. Seriously? Seriously?! I have a family of 6. Me, my wife, a 8 year old girl, a 7 year old girl, a 5 year old boy and an 18 month old girl. The piles upon piles of laundry are limitless waiting for empty promises. In the meantime, we have had to wash essential clothes (school clothes, socks, underwear, etc.) at laundromats, and friends and other family members houses. Whirlpool doesnt give a care about any of our problems. I come from a huge family, as does my wife. Together, we probably have 100 family members. I will crusade against Whirlpool for any and all appliances if this matter is not fixed and their customer service is not better!

We purchased Whirlpool sports model on 2/1/2011. We faced a problem with the motor in a month’s time. The service man told that there are fluctuations in the power so it went wrong. They replaced it after 15-20 days’ time. We also complained that it’s making noise and then he told that we should keep it on the stand. We did so, even then, it’s still noisy. Now about 3 weeks back, suddenly it stopped working during the wash. I never overloaded the washing machine. We complained to the dealer. The mechanic came and told that we had to replace some parts and he will get in a couple of days, but he never turned up. When we contacted the dealer, he said that the parts were unavailable and he will send them in a couple of days. I am fed up of that answer. We could have purchased IFB instead of this.

We purchased a Whirlpool dryer about two years ago. Unfortunately I havent had the time to compose a letter stating my dis-satisfaction until now. After much research and haggling we decided on the Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum model, a very efficient (we thought), and even attractive model. It has proven to cost us much more than we bargained for, as EVERY time I do a dark wash, which is usually two to three times a week I must re-wash the items once or twice after! All of the items come out of the wash with white spots all over. Thinking it is soap, I run the wash again on a rinse cycle: nothing changes. Then I redo the wash - this time not using soap. The result is a bit better, but I still have to take a wet washcloth and rub the areas out.I did voice a complaint one time to which I received a letter stating that I should read my manual, specifically the troubleshooting guide. I dont have time for this. Again, we purchased this machine for its cost and efficiency, yet its ending up costing much more than it should as for every load I do (of dark clothes), I have to do one or two additional. (No telling what is on the light or white clothes that I cannot see because of their color!) This machine has been a total waste of time and money; I will never purchase another Whirlpool machine as I am extremely dissatisfied with this product.

Do not purchase Whirlpool smart freestanding gas range model number WFG975HOHV. I purchased the range and the refrigerator around Christmas of 2018. The first time I turned the oven on to make Christmas dinner the carbon monoxide detector alarm went off. I have tried to use the oven twice after that and the same thing happened. The oven also never gets to 350. I spoke to Whirlpool who said to unplug the oven. They stated a technician would be sent with a carbon monoxide detector and to conduct repairs. The technician came and could not get the oven to 350 and the carbon monoxide detector alarmed. He stated he has to order parts and return to complete repairs. This is a brand new oven that I could not use because the carbon monoxide alarmed and the oven was not heating to 350 because it keeps restarting every few minutes. So here I am not able to use the oven for over a month and waiting for parts for a brand new range. Do not waste your money on Whirlpool products. I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher on March 13, 2007, along with a 3-year extended warranty. Well on Nov. 15, 2011, I had a part in the control panel go out, so they replaced it and they charged me $129.00 for labor and $29.18 for the part. My dishwasher is doing the same thing. It doesnt finish the cycle and I have to restart it, so I called the repairman A&E. They said the part is only guaranteed for 90 days. The part only lasted six months! Its the same part and the same problem. It should be considered a defective part. No matter how many you have replaced the part, it is going to need to be replaced and at $160.00, I cant afford it. They should have to pay for defective parts. Also on this model GU2600XTPSI on the panel buttons, the start button was made with this puffy plastic that has pulled apart and now it looks terrible! None of the other buttons were made this way. What a crappy workmanship, they should be embarrassed. This dishwasher was not cheap; it cost $650.00 plus $50.00 for the warranty. 4 years is too short of a time to have to replace any home appliance. There are appliance out there that are three times as old as mine and they are still working. Whirlpool Cabrio - I have had the same experience as those others that have written reviews - over $1,600.00 (on sale) - approximately 3 years old and I was just informed by a service repairman that water has leaked from the center of the tub into the motor and it is trashed. I went to the Whirlpool website to chat with a representative and they are sorry but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee there will be no repairs or parts replacements needed as components do deteriorate or fail on occasion due to factors over which we have no control - they went on to say that since the washer is approximately 3 years old there would be no assistance that we would be able to provide toward repairs. I agree that a class action suit should be considered since Whirlpool is taking no responsibility for a machine that costs too much - makes your clothes smell and lasts for such a short time. Highway robbery!! The dryer is no better but at least it is still working (today anyway!).

Good News!! Finally a permanent fix & possible recall. My Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer was 18 months old and Out of Warranty. It leaked water on my floor like all the rest. I called and was told I had to pay the service charge. Speak with a SUPERVISOR!!! They sent a repairman who said a Kit had just come out to fix this. I had to defrost the unit for a day and he returned with the kit. Part number is W10309238. The repairman believes they will be doing a recall and fix these drains. Insist on speaking with a Supervisor!!! Get results, they will do it as it is a design flaw. The repair took about twenty minutes. Here in Ottawa, Ontario call Youngs Appliance for more info.

I bought the washer and dryer. I had problems right away. The glass lid has broken and replaced 4x at the hingeless. YES 4 times – 1 time under warranty. I complain, they gave me 1 extra year of a warranty. Big deal... Was told its not a recalled item because it didnt cause of fire. The dryer has caught fire 2x as the bottom fills up with lint. I messaged and sent picture and they did nothing. Said it was up to me to clean the unit. I am not able to take the dryer apart to clean it. The lint cannot be reached without removing the top and back of dryer and taking out the drum and the belt off. Nothing but grief. Giant expense to maintain all the broken parts not to mention labor fees… Very very unsatisfied. And they do not care!!!! They will never get another penny of my money!!!!! Im not sure how they get away with this!!! I spent $2000 to buy a good set that would last and all I got was junk. Not to mention the awful smell always having to bleach or cleaning it all the time.

From the day I bought the refrigerator the icemaker has not worked. I have had a estimation of service calls (8) and nobody seems to be able to fix it. Whirlpool mailed me a new icemaker and still the exact problem; water and ice works but the unit still will not cube or crush ice; which by the way is the reason I bought a new refrigerator. My thoughts are I bought a lemon and the entire fridge needs to be replaced.

Whirlpool Refrigerator 36 inch #WRF993FIF. We have owned refrigerator for 3 months and both ice makers went out. Worst customer service ever with Whirlpool and their appliance specialists. Ordered new ice maker, but still broken. Whirlpool is saying it needs a new door!!! I have asked for a new refrigerator, but cant get anyone to respond. I have called 6 times being on hold one time for over 30 minutes trying to get a scheduled appointment for a new door! This is by far the worst service that I have ever received from a company.

From the time I had the Cabrio top load washer, it has been repaired at least 8 times. I did get the extended 2-year warranty. I should have known that this machine was going to give me problems from the first service call. I have had to have the motor replaced 4 out of the 8 times the machine has been serviced due to coins getting into the motor. I have a problem with rust around the dispenser. I also feel that the clothes get very tangled when washing. The machine is just 5 years old. This time when I called for repair with A&E appliance repair, they told me that it was going to be $450.00 to repair. Now, I am not going to repair it, especially after having all the problems I have had with it. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product or any of their other products that they make. I did call Whirlpool just to let them know my problem and to let them know that there have been hundreds of complaints with the same washer that I have. It’s too bad that Whirlpool has no respect, passion or pride in what they make. I am going to purchase a new washer and it will not be anything related to Whirlpool.

I bought the washer Whirlpool duet on June 2009 (2 years and 2 months to date) and suddenly gave me an F70 code and died on me. It would cost me about $550.00 for parts and $129.00 for labor which is almost $700.00 in total. Its a communication error code where the CCU or the Motor Control Board was the culprit. I called the company for a concession consideration and they said they go by the warranty period. I should have read reviews for this company washers. Now, I have to find myself a better washer. I will never buy Whirlpool again. What a ripoff!

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Gerhard’s Appliance, Glenside, PA on 12/15/2011.There have been problems with the unit since it was delivered on 12/19/2011. The doors were not the same height. There were stains (which looked like rust) on both doors. A shelf on the door and one in the fridge were missing. One of the deliverymen adjusted the door height then, and the door has been creaking on opening/closing since. That door has been replaced, but the problem continues. The freezer (which has an icemaker/water dispenser built in) started to produce ice on the inside of the unit door and on the wall surfaces. Attempts made to rectify the problem were unsuccessful. A new freezer door was ordered. After the door replacement, the frost problem got worse. I can fax you a copy of all service contacts so far (at least 7). Please help me replace this lemon.

Cabrio Whirlpool Washer - Bought this washer from HHGregg in Orange Park, Florida. This washing machine is horrible!! It does not fill the tub with water enough to even cover the clothes. Some of the clothes are not even wet. They just sit in dirty water, no agitation. Then it refills with water and the rinse water is dirty, there is no agitation or movement during the wash cycle. My clothes are stained and dried food and dirt are still on the clothes. My white clothes are now gray. This is the worst machine. I have tried everything. I am now hand washing the clothes and trying to add water to at least cover the clothes but the sensor just drains the extra water out. This machine is less than a year old. There should be a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool. I am not the only one; everyone that has this machine says it is a nightmare.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer & dryer in 2005. After CONTINUED
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer & dryer in 2005. After CONTINUED issues with the washer during & after extended warranty, we decided to replace it in 2011. Im not a fan of mismatched sets, so we also replaced the the dryer. After researching the WP Cabrio, we assumed that model was a fluke and reluctantly replaced with the Whirlpool Duet Set. Nearing our warranty expiration, our new washer has stalled for the 3rd time. Sears customer service has been absolutely dreadful since day 1. Original delivery was scheduled incorrectly, so we ended up picking it up. We then spent the next 3 months trying to get our military discount credited back. They promised at time of purchase it would be credited automatically. After 2 hours wasted on the phone today, we are still without a working washer.. or even a date as to when it will be repaired. I was appalled at the condescending phone conversation I had with Sears rep. When service showed up last week, he knew immediately that 1 part was missing. He replaced the other 2 parts, and assured me hed rush the 3rd part and come back out today. Had I not called, we would be receiving a phone call on Friday to say our part was backordered and not available until June. After a long and frustrating conversation, I was told we could have a courtesy $25 max a week for laundry, with a max of $100 per year. I was also told that it wasnt Sears fault the part wasnt ordered when I called the 1st time, and so the 21 day wait period didnt start until the service man caught the mistake. If we hit 21 days from that date, they supposedly will do some sort of swap. I have confirmed with WP that the part is on back order, and frankly they didnt do anything either.. but the rep was much more apologetic. They couldnt do much because our warranty is through Sears and not them directly. My great niece is coming in 2 weeks for the 1st time since she was put on hospice, and I will be without a washer to clean her cloth diapers. She is on a very specific diet and has a feeding tube, so I will have to waste time hand washing clothes instead of savoring her visit. I will never shop at SEARS again. They have continued to go downhill with all the corporate changes. I left the corporate world a couple of years ago, and I can tell you that Sears doesnt take no or sorry from their vendors. Im very upset and intend to take this to another level, which I rarely do.

Purchased a Whirlpool washer 14 months ago... however just unboxed the washer. Installed it in our new home. Now after just two, repeat, two months of use, there is water all over the hardwood floors... The front door seal is gone to the tune of $100 but what about my floors!!!!!! Im so discouraged after reading all the complaints that Im falling out of my chair. Seal design has been the same on most all their front loaders. DO NOT BUY A FRONT LOADING WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE. YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DID. Yes they look pretty. I love the look and performance of my Whirlpool Dishwasher. It could be a bit quieter, but overall I have no complaints. My washer was already installed in my home when I purchased it and I must say, it helps when the family gets together and you don't feel like washing the dishes. The dual chamber pod holder is great if you need to use and the heat function works wonderful. I don't have the problem of the left over water that a lot of dishwashers leave behind and no spots!

Bought at Lowes. Washer was horribly out of balance on first use. Called warranty # to get service. Was made appointment by Whirlpool for next day. Too good to be true I thought and I was right. A week later, repair company called to make their own appt, chuckled and said Whirlpool does NOT make appointments for them. They came out to see washer and at the time of appointment, the guy said sometimes they come from the factory not hooked up right inside and after he went back to a lady in the office, Jonnys Appl Repair, Bozeman, MT said they would not fix it because washer was not sitting on a concrete floor. They are idiots. Finally, washer completely broke 7 months later. There was no service that would honor ANY appointment Whirlpool made. Went through 6 repair companies trying to get a close appointment date. Hopefully next week will be the magic repair. GO WITH SEARS. Repair is directly through them and they show up when they say they will. Ive never had a new product not working right when purchased at Sears.

I wouldn’t recommend buying Whirlpool appliances. Hot dishwasher in December used 1 month and the board went out. 3 month to get a new then they install it and they sent the wrong user interface. Wait another month. Still no call. No dishwasher. Everyone I know has issues with Whirlpool appliances that are branded as made in US yet if they truly had good components that were made in the US they would get more customers back.

I bought Whirlpool Cabrio washer two months ago (Model number : WTW7300DW0). They indicate washer use less water and clean better, but that is not true. Some clothes on top of the load were not even getting wet and clothes smell bad after washing. Even worse is that clothes got holes in many places and some clothes were totally destroyed after washing. In just two months, I have to throw away many of my towels and clothes. I dont believe this kind of washer should be sold again. This should be a recall to give us a replacement ASAP and remove any products still in the market. There are many complaints online, I hope someone will stop this and do the right thing.

We have a Whirlpool range that was produced for Kenmore (Sears brand). It’s a glass top with electronic controls. Over the 13 years we have had this range we’ve had to replace the controls 3 times at a cost of over $300 each time. Each time we were under severe lightning storms and got hit with a surge. It would burn out the Control board. We finally got a whole house surge suppressor since a large device is required for 240 volt appliances. Also the glass top has gotten scored over the years. We would not recommend this oven and will likely replace it with an industrial gas stove with manual controls when this one dies or gets too expensive to repair.

I owned a Kenmore washer for approx. 20 yrs that endured 6 kids for most of that time period. When time came for a new one, I had to have the latest model, and settled on a Maytag Bravos approx 3 yrs ago. This was a huge mistake - I paid between 600-800 for this machine, and it is a piece of garbage. The repairmen here yesterday explained to me that Maytag and Whirlpool are now the same company, and also that all these machines are now made overseas because of cheap labor. In a nutshell, I was given an estimate of at least 300 to repair this piece of crap - he explained that they are only made to last a few yrs -where is the justice in this situation? I really dont get how these big companies get away with selling crap, knowing all the while that the consumer is getting screwed - yet people continue to buy them..

I purchased the four-door Whirlpool stainless steel refrigerator. It was installed on the 15th of June. One month later, the ice was not coming through the dispenser and if it did, it was a small amount. During this time, I was receiving notices from them about purchasing an extended warranty. Today, August 23, 2012, the ice maker stopped working completely. I was disgusted. Paying for the top-of-the-line refrigerator that doesnt last for 90 days is ridiculous. Also, the handle on the vegetable keeps coming off. That will be the last Whirlpool appliance I will buy.

We purchased the model WFC7500VW, 24” washer and accompanying dryer in June of 2015. Within a couple of months, the water pump went; also we continually had to take the front panel off and clean out the filter when we get an A11 code! Now we experienced an F06 code... This code means the washer can’t go into high speed. The repairman (Whirlpool recommended), told us that a new tachometer motor, etc would run $500-$800 with labor! He also said that the noise the drum made was bad. My dryer works fine (only complaint is the grinding noise it makes, which Whirlpool told me is normal)... I would like to purchase a new washer, but don’t know what will fit under the dryer. I do not want ANY Whirlpool product!

We bought a Cabrio washer & dryer September 2010 for a room addition that wasnt completed yet. We didnt get moved in until the first of November. So the washer wasnt used until then. In January 2011 (15 months later) it stopped spinning so clothes were dripping wet. We called Whirlpool and were told that they would be happy to set us up for a service agreement for $322 for one year. We declined since we bought the washer for a little over $500. When we had a local Whirlpool service man come out and he determined that it was the control board which would cost $265 (Whirlpool only warrants parts 90 days). I sent an email to Whirlpool and was told too bad, so sad. We called their customer care line (that is really not the term for that phone center) and asked to talk to a supervisor, who essentially told me the same thing. Whirlpool is making equipment that is extremely poor quality. There is no incentive for them to produce a better quality product as they make money on the extended warranties that are necessary, or if you dont buy an extended warranty they charge an extraordinary huge price for their parts, which they dont warranty. We will never purchase anything made by Whirlpool. I am not sure where this useless piece of junk that I have will end up but I intend to let everyone I know what a terrible company Whirlpool is to deal with.

So I called back and accepted but after getting off the phone looked online and found a washer that would be delivered on May 28th and it was just delivered no problem but now no one at WHIRLPOOL can find the subbed order to cancel and give me my refund from the out of stock washer... So I have paid for 2 washers and every time I try to get help I have an hour wait to get a person. I am a 65 yr old woman who has been put thru so much stress and it is not good for my health.
