Another reviewer complained about a knocking sound upon startup. My Brand New fridge has been doing that and I have just ignored it. Maybe I shouldnt. Compared to our original Beaumark fridge, the Whirlpool is VERY NOISY.. Since the actual workings seem fine, I am not complaining but rather quite concerned.Especially after reading the numerous Negative Reviews.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer - Its very expensive and it quit after 3 years. Repairman said computer component went out and it would cost $450-$520 to repair and it wasnt worth it. He also told me I should have read reviews first. Whirlpool said I should have bought extended warranty. No more Whirlpool appliances will be bought for our homes or business.

Whirlpool double oven. The electronic control board has been replaced twice and needs to be replaced a third time after less than a year. The thermal fuses go each time I run the self clean. Whirlpools response has been disgraceful, trying to blame the problem on faulty installation when thousands of people have had the same problem. Ignore ANY US companys product; their warranties are worthless and they repair, not replace. My next oven will be European because in Europe they have to automatically warranty for five years any consumer durable. Consumer Reports ratings are worthless since they dont include breakdown experience in the ratings. Never buy anything from Whirlpool. They sell rubbish and dont honor their own warranty. Check the BBB rating. My brand new double oven broke down the first time that I ran the self clean cycle. Whirlpools response was to claim that the cutout opening was 1/8 inch too narrow and therefore they would not honor the five year warranty that I had bought from them. This was a lie, as I verified the width and it was exactly that required. Others have had the same experience. Whirlpool also makes Maytag, Kitchenaid, Kenmore and Ikea.

I am a mother of 4 children and 3 grandkids, I love cooking and baking. Before I can post a review on a product or appliance I like to wait and give it enough use to test it. About 2 years ago I purchase a Whirlpool range. I trust the Whirlpool brand because is durable, easy to maintain and simple to operate. After owning my first Whirlpool refrigerator for over 15 years, I am happy to post my review on my almost 3 years old Whirlpool gas stove and oven. I am a satisfied and proud customer of Whirlpool!

We purchase Whirlpool fridge less than a year ago. Its still under guaranteed. 2 months ago we notice the fridge part heating up and food was going off. I went back to the shop where we purchase the fridge. They said we had to contact Whirlpool direct so we did had to wait 3 weeks for someone to come and look at it. Fridge is not repairable. Fella who came out did not report back to Whirlpool. I was waiting and waiting to hear word. I rang to see what was the story on it and eventually they said O we will exchanged your fridge and we will ring you on delivery date. Now Im over 2 month waiting on a fridge. Whirlpool is a joke. The company should be put out of business for what they do to honest people buying their stuff, and people who are in the same boat as me should go to the high court and sue them for all the stress they put people through. Shame on you Whirlpool. Disgrace.

We bought our Terrorpool Whirlpool refrigerator in 2006. We have had problems with the ice dispenser, bad motor replacement, and now we have cracks all down the right inside wall. I had bought an extended warranty of four years at the time of purchase which covered the cost of the previous problems. But it has now expired, and I was told it would be my expense for repair. What happened to reliable appliances that our parents and grandparents had? What happened to the name Whirlpool? I will never buy a Whirlpool product again, not to mention the customer service (which I wont mention). If you have model # ED5PHEXRQ00, please write about any problems you have had and help someone else not make the same mistake.

Bought the Cabrio washer dryer set back on 1-12-13 for my new home and thought it was a good purchase. Well now its March on 2017 and the washer has been slowly getting louder during spin cycle to the point where yup you guessed it the bearing is bad because on a cheap seal that suppose to keep water out. It just cost me just under $600 to get the repair done and from reading other reviews and the fact that I have worked on cars and machines at my employment this will happen again. I wanted to save money on water for the city that I live in charges gold prices per cubic units of water but for the price of repairs to the water saved I am in the red. So once it goes again going back to conventional unit and will never buy anything from this company again. I work in the second largest printing company in the world for 28 years on press and know a bit about quality workmanship. Its really sort of typical on how over the years some good manufacturers cut quality and design in planned obsolescence into their product just to make money for the useless corporate bloat that has taken over. I made the mistake in buying what I thought was a good product from a great company but they just proved me wrong. People do not buy any products from this manufacture and find out what other unit they make and steer away from them too.

I replaced a 4 year old Whirlpool dishwasher with a new Whirlpool dishwashe
I replaced a 4 year old Whirlpool dishwasher with a new Whirlpool dishwasher on 01/18/2019. July 2020, dishwasher failed. Finally got Whirlpool to send out a repair technician and was advised that the sump and motor had failed. This is after only a year and a half. Whirlpool will not back their product because I did not send another $200 for a service plan. So basically whirlpool cant even guarantee that their product will even last a year.My 4 year old dishwasher had the same issue which is still unacceptable. I have a Whirlpool refrigerator that almost burned down my house and just replaced a failed Whirlpool stove with a Samsung. I wish I could say what I am replacing this dishwasher with, but I am too frustrated to even look for a replacement after only a year and a half. Replacement parts will cost $250 just for me to do it myself. Do yourself a favor and research the product. Should you spend more? I cant answer that. I have seen 20+ year old Frigidaire dishwashers still working. I honestly dont know what brand to get, but I do know that I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again, and neither should you.

I bought in 2008 a Whirlpool Cabrio washer because it was the best. It cost me $900 plus 170 extended warranty for four years. This month, my washer showed an f1 code. I call the Maytag store and guess what, they are not there anymore. They closed the store. I called for my extended warranty and guess what, they are not with Maytag and they filed a chapter 7. So, I spent over $1000 in a machine that only worked three years and now I have to buy another just because no one wants to take the responsibility on the warranty. I have to pay another $300 to fix the problem and even doing that, theres no guarantee that it wont fail again. So, and this is to the people of Maytag and their cheats, you may take my money but you lose me as a customer forever. Thank you for nothing. I will keep that in mind next week when Ill be in the store buying another washer.

I recently purchased a Whirlpool Slide in Oven replacing my Amana stove of 15 years. My Amana was a very basic model, and I thought this WP was an upgrade. But it is so poorly made its ridiculous. First of all the bottom storage drawer, is so flimsy, it does not slide out easily, and the top lip doesnt even have a finished edge. Additionally there is a 1 inch gap between the top of the drawer and the bottom of the stove door. But the BIGGEST disappointment was the oven racks, totally flimsy. We used a Lodge Dutch Oven (which we have used many times with our old stove) and the oven rack sagged under the weight. Had I known I would have pulled the racks from my old stove. I contacted that seller about these issues, and they said they are ALL like that even the higher end ones, and I contacted Whirlpool to see if I could buy better quality racks and they said no, this is all they have.

I purchased the refrigerator (WRT3L15ZYBOO) from a reputable store (Lowes) on 10/15/11. 15 months later it failed. The service tech diagnosed complete loss of refrigerant. Cost for repairs would be more than half the purchase price and the wait for parts would be weeks. Contact to Whirlpool customer rep (Brittany) said no assistance was available, even for obviously a defective product. Solution: I had the store remove the defective appliance and purchased a new fridge (not Whirlpool) at about the same price it would have cost to repair the defective one. With delivery within 3 days, I likely saved time and money over dealing with Whirlpool. I had purchased a Whirlpool stove at the same time and am feeling quite anxious about it. Consequences: I plan to purchase a washer/dryer in the next year. No Whirlpool products considered.

I saved my money a long time to purchase a new refrigerator (Whirlpool Refrigerator Model ED2VHEXV001). I have very low income so this was not an easy task. April 2009, purchased from Lowes. Ive read similar complaints and also believe there is a defect in the plastic material as there are cracks everywhere on the interior. Shelves have cracked and the whole thing is of poor quality. Seems like Whirlpool should step up and do the right thing. This needs to be replaced.

I am so thankful that there are others who are having the same problems with their washers. Since 2006, my husband and I have had words regarding who is not loading the washer right, why are the clothes still dirty, and why does the dryer have so much lint. The excessive amount of lint ruined my dryer. I get UL codes all the time! Before the UL flashes, it sounds like someones trying to break in. It is 2011. Despite the problems, it has not died yet. I am selling it and will never purchase another from them again. I have the dryer and it went out 2 years ago. It has problems with the motor. You can guess I did not buy a Whirlpool.

Ive had this microwave for about a year and a half. Like some others I get the door sign frequently. I open the door and cant turn it on until the light goes on, which can take a minute to two. I have NEVER had problems with any microwave other than this one. I had a problem with the Whirlpool refrigerator too, which was fortunately still under warranty. We bought all new appliances Stove, Frig., Microwave, and Washing machine. The washing machine does not get the clothes clean. Most of the time it either does not put enough water in to get the clothes wet or it will not spin. We had it less than six months and had to call for a repairman and to this day it is not any better. The Frig. we bought is noisy and makes a high pitch sound that sounds like a motorcycle taking off. We had everyone over at thanksgiving only to find out the ice maker had stopped working. The microwave does not heat very well at all and at times if you open the door before it has stopped it continues to run. Everything was purchased at the same time from Lowes about a year ago. I will never purchase another whirlpool appliance.

They replied that they were unaware of the issue when its all over the internet and has been for well over a year... maybe more. My Whirlpool washing machine has not worked properly from the first day. Whirlpool washing machine customer care is pathetic. I bought a Whirlpool semi-automatic washing machine, Sparkle. This product is in warranty period. From the first day, this product did not give right result. Machine sound is very high and I called customer care center may times (around 9-10 times). They sent this machine three times in service center but the results remained the same. The problem arose when we put some load in it. He said the gear box should be changed and the machine should be cleansed off the dirt. He offered some powder costing Rs. 1500/- to be used in washing machine.Later, he asked Rs. 350/- for other parts after two months then I paid them again after 15 days for a piece that did not work. Then, they want to charge me Rs. 350/- again. When I showed the previous slip, they then changed that part without any cost. But after 15 days, again same problem occurred. They charged me 150/- Rs. but the problem is the same. Total money I spent is Rs. 1500/-+350/-+150/-. I also purchased a stand and cover for safety, but what will happen if product is not good? The technicians visited many times and they all said this piece is not okay but they cant do anything. The company should change this product. The machine is still rotting at my home. Im not sure if it could be accepted to be exchanged for a new one. Customer care gave us the satisfaction code but technician did not ask for this code. Im really very sad that I have called around 10 complaints within two years. Why are you people not listening? You all are doing time pass. You can check my complaint codes in your records and ask your technicians about Noida. Many times, I did not note the complaints number. Please open my file and check the issue. I told the technician many times that I want to talk to your seniors and want to tell them the problem because from the first day, it was the same, but they refused. I have also purchased a 320 LT fridge from you but that product is very nice. You should listen to our problems. This was not expected of such a branded company. I promised myself that I will never in my life purchase a Whirlpool product and advise the same to others.

Today, after five years of washing items in the Whirlpool Cabrio top-loading, HE washer; I am taking the time to express just how poorly this machines operates. Clothes do not get clean, dish towels with dried food still have food on them, and towels get holes. If I wash items with sand after going to the beach, the dryer vent has to catch all of the sand that was never washed out. Rust has developed on the inside and drips down to ruin clothes. I would take back my previous washer with the agitator that was over twenty years old in a heartbeat. When we needed a new dryer, we went ahead and bought a matching washer. Painful decision!

Whirlpool Dishwasher Quiet Partner III Model #8575637, White - Purchased in
Whirlpool Dishwasher Quiet Partner III Model #8575637, White - Purchased in 2006. As of July 2013, I can say this is the worst dishwasher we have ever owned. After normal use (once a day or less), the plastic on the front control panel began cracking in the first year, and the button covers have fallen off completely. Dishes were never completely clean (at least not as clean as other dishwashers). Dishwasher leaked out one side and needed repairs. Now it is in need of a new valve, because no water is coming into the inner cavity. Repairman says it is likely that the control board, which is getting moisture into it after losing buttons, etc., will probably need to be replaced soon as well. $300 more to spend on a repair bill. SAD (AND DANGEROUS!) THAT SO MANY APPLIANCES ARE ADDING UP IN OUR LANDFILLS. There should be a LAW requiring appliances to last a certain number of years, and to clearly state their expected life on the appliance when you purchase it. Planned Obsolescence is a common business plan these days, but there must be some control on what is allowed! (I may go ahead and repair this model just because I feel bad adding one more piece of junk to our collective global pile! Sheesh!!) And all those energy star, were so green advertisements? Well, if its soon to be sitting in a landfill, its NOT so green! I am willing to pay more to purchase appliances that will last a number of years, not need many repairs, and function as they advertise... Thank goodness I kept our very first Whirlpool refrigerator - never needing any repairs and still running like a tank out in the garage. (So I know Whirlpool, at least at one time, was able to build a quality product!)

The tub inside is slanted and makes a loud banging sound when rinsing. It is no longer in warranty. All my appliances are Whirlpool brand because my mom has items that are still 15years and over. This machine that I purchased did not even give me a quarter of that. The prices of these items are expensive and increasing all the time but the quality, durability and lifetime is diminishing at a faster rate. In 2011, I bought in Croatia, for the start, 2 washers (model 3LCHW9100WQ) and 1 dryer (model 3LCED9100WQ) and opened the first self-service laundry in Pula, Croatia. Since the beginning, I had problems with the gum (black). After the washing cycles, you could see black lines on the laundry. Whirlpool Croatia denied that the gum can be the cause. After two months, they gave me new gums, but the problem still exists. After 5 months of work, the first malfunction on the washers started. The biggest problem is that it took and still takes them up to a month to repair them. And these problems I have ever since. Also, the error codes never showed the correct malfunction code. In global, if I take that I have these washers and dryer for about a year, they were out of function for more than 3 months. The warranty expired in April 2012. On these reasons, I cannot recommend any product of Whirlpool, and I have to change to another company to buy more washers and dryers.

The retailer no longer sells them as they have seen nothing but complaints with them yet Whirlpool did nothing to help me as a client. It does not wash the clothes, there is such a foul smell even when cleaning it once a month as requested and the clothes comes out soaking and not rinsed properly. I would like to extend my appreciation to Whirlpool for quickly responding to our requests. Within a matter of days, we were contacted by a Whirlpool corporate representative. She listened to our issue and was extremely understanding of our frustrations. The representative assured us that we were valued customers and offered to contact our local service provider and authorize the needed repairs to our refrigerator. This interaction has restored our faith in Whirlpool and its partner brands. The representative also provided guidance on future purchases in contacting Whirlpool to purchase its extended warranty.I would suggest using Whirlpools warranty program instead of a retailers program. Contact Whirlpool to purchase any extended warranties directly, instead of purchasing an extended plan at the time of purchase. Thank you to Whirlpool and to our extremely helpful representative. I am not including her name, to protect anonymity.

Now less than two years after purchasing this high efficiency and expensive washer, not only are all the washers rusted on the plastic lid but behind the the lid and the side of the washer is rusted. Very disappointed and recommend that you do not purchase this machine.

The average life of a refrigerator is 11 years. We purchased a Whirlpool convertible refrigerator (Model EL7JWKLMS02, Serial # EWR1339731) on 6/12/04 from the Lowes here in Visalia, CA. The first delivered was DOA and Lowes delivered another. That should have been a warning sign. We have had several problems with the product, as early as 2006. All repairs went through Sierra Appliance & Franks Appliances. We are now in the market of another refrigerator to replace this one. We have had to have freon added now for the third time. Sierra Appliance was unable to find any leak, but each time, the freon was depleted. In addition to the health hazard of having freon leaking into the house, we have had the distinct displeasure of having to deal with food waste, etc. Because of the ongoing problems with this product, we are now facing the reality of purchasing another refrigerator to replace this Whirlpool product.Due to this, I feel it is difficult to consider another Whirlpool product and will question any product to ensure that it is not Whirlpool-related. If there is anything that Whirlpool or Lowes can do at this point, it would be appreciated. Thank you for reviewing this note of dissatisfaction. It appears that we will be shopping for a new refrigerator this weekend unless we hear from Whirlpool. In any event, I would like this recorded as a complaint from a former customer.

My Whirlpool refrigerator, model number ET8MHJKXM005, constantly leaks water into the bottom inside of the refrigerator. Its only 4 years old, for crying out loud! I have a repairman coming over in a few days who tells me the newer Whirlpool refrigerators are notorious for having the drain ice up. Why would Whirlpool design such garbage? They should all be recalled.

I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher in 2008 from Best Buy and purchased the extended warranty through Best Buy. First of all, my complaint is not with Best Buy (model # DU1145XTPBA). I have had nothing but trouble with the unit not filling with water, being noisy, and other problems. And then, my intelligence is insulted by these independent contractors, who are supposed to be appliance repair specialists. I found that far from the truth in most cases. They have a list of patented things that the consumer is doing wrong: not having a hot water heater next to the unit, using too much detergent, not loading it properly, and on and on. They must think we are idiots. I always would run the water from the sink till it got hot before filling. And I am a miser so I use less detergent than what the manufacturer or the detergent package says. Anyway to make a long tale short, it started leaking last week, so I assumed the door seal or some other such thing. But lo and behold, the door is rotted out at the bottom. The black finish has bubbled up and the metal is actually rotting away. I am from up north and it looks like my old Chevy 2 Nova rotted out. I called Whirlpool and spoke with several people and supposedly someone in management. They were, of course, sympathetic but offered no assistance or explanation. They offered to send a factory authorized repairman to replace the door at more than the cost of a new dishwasher. Are we that stupid? They never offered me a voucher for a discount on a new unit, which I am going to have to buy. I would not have accepted it anyway, as my last few experiences with Whirlpool have been dreadful. I will never buy another Whirlpool anything. The name used to stand for a quality product that you could depend on. But now it is like most things are offered to the consumer in this throw away society. And as long as we keep buying inferior products and only expecting them to last a few years, I am afraid that is what we will continue to get. Be vocal and let them know how you feel, even though they are probably yawning on the other side of the phone. They are without compassion and could not care any less. They are just looking for a paycheck and have probably heard a hundred complaints like mine, so its water off the proverbial ducks back. But when its their own job in jeopardy, perhaps they will start passing on these complaints to someone who will be willing to listen. Its a very bad experience and I will never buy Whirlpool again.

I purchased at Lowes and they say was without warranty. I have had all kinds of trouble. The pilot light was replaced in the burner easily because of recall. Now the pilot will not stay lighted unless you tap on the gas valve. Then as soon as the water temperature comes up, the burner and the pilot light go out. I went to Lowes for a new gas valve. They have one for natural gas of $58. They do not stock for propane. I have to purchase from Whirlpool which costs $228. Their comment is that it is more expensive to build another. They do not change offices any longer because of PSi difference bull crap. I purchased a Whirlpool gas stove 2 to 3 years ago and I had to purchase an LP change over kit to use it. This is nothing but a case price extortion. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again and I would advise no one else either!

I cant believe after five years I will have to buy another refrigerator. I know someone that has a refrigerator that is 50 years old. Cant any refrigerator makers make any appliances that last? I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator model #wrt1litzyv along with the extended warranty from Lowes. The compressor stopped working just before the warranty was to expire and had to be replaced. The cost of repairs almost equaled the price of the refrigerator and took nearly 2 months for the reimbursement check to arrive. I had to call several times. They told me they hadnt received the paperwork even though I sent it registered mail and it was signed for and I had to resend it. Now, less than 4 months later, the refrigerator is again not working properly. Freezer is not freezing properly. Takes 2 days to freeze ice. This is the absolutely worst refrigerator Ive ever had. My last refrigerator lasted 20 years. This one is only 3 years old and of course, the warranty is now expired. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. And I will never buy a major appliance from Lowes either since they play games with the warranties. And after the refrigerator was repaired, Whirlpool tried to sell me another extended warranty. They wanted $308.60 for a 3-year warranty. Ridiculous that they dont stand behind their products. And try to sell more warranties instead of just manufacturing a good product.

Bought in 2009 brand new set washer and dryer together at Best Buy. The washing machine in 2011 started its never ending problems. I’ve paid for parts & labor for the door lock sensor mechanism multiple times where I learned to repair that myself even buying parts and installing on my own last time... Then a drain pump went bad. Replaced that. Now a code f51 sensor to a motor rotor not spinning issue. Horrible. All the money and time in this unreliable machine is so awful. This thing also isn’t that great when it works too. Goes unlevel way too much having to redistribute and restart cycles all the time... Wish it washed better for the price and all the trouble. It is the worst machine. Has to be! Everyone I know can’t believe the fight I’ve had through the years with this machine. The company doesnt help you. Costly headache Junk machine!

My wife could not get the door to open unless she pushed the door button hard several times. I checked to see if the trim kit was causing the problem and it was not. We kept trying to get the door to open as it should but could not make it work correctly. I even used a little lubricant and it did not help. We then looked up the reviews and saw this was a prevalent problem. We then returned the unit and trim and ordered a Samsung. It will be in on the 25th of March. I placed a review on Lowes site but Whirlpool removed it saying since I took it back they removed the negative review. Since it was defective I wanted the public to see the truth on this unit.

Nope kept leaking and two months later Im doing laundry and an entire load of water floods my laundry room. Drum broke again!! SIX WEEKS LATER I still am waiting for a new drum. Whirlpool Cabrio 4.3-cu ft High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer - I wanted to buy American. My Sears front loader (I had for 13 years) died and I couldnt get someone from Sears here to fix it. So I bought this Whirlpool from Lowes 4/20/15. I want to be able to wash sheets, towels, clothing and sometimes a blanket or a sleeping bag. I re-use my washer water for the garden and use no chemicals or fragrance in my washer soap. When I bought this, my washer had died. I was kinda desperate to buy a new washer. I went to Best Buy and Home Depot. There were ads all over Lowes advertising: Same Day Free Delivery + Installation. While there was no one in the Appliance department, I went to track someone down so I could pay and get out of there. I was told that it would take 10 days to get any of the washers I was interested. I didnt have 10 days, so I called my appliance repairman and he came to get the washer and install it. The deal breaker is that this machine vibrates the clothes clean - not water, so the fabrics are trashed and the sheets get all tied up. I had the factory repairman come and he told me you cant do comforters, more than a sheet or towels in this washer because its energy efficient! I should take my towels and sheets to a commercial place!! I called Whirlpool and wanted to exchange for another and they were not at all agreeable. No one else complains. Even after I looked on the internet for reviews on this machine 250 out of 350 had the same complaints as I did. I cant even donate this to a homeless or animal shelter if they dont suggest you wash sheets and towels in it!!! This rule was nowhere in the literature and the info on the top door doesnt say that either! Imagine my dissatisfaction!!! What homeowner doesnt wash towels and sheets???

I bought a brand new Whirlpool fridge early June with the extended warranty to have it shipped on my moving day on June 18. The team delivered and installed the fridge and told me to wait 3 hours before plugging it. I went and spent over 300$ in groceries only to find out the fridge does not work. I waited 24 hours, still not working. I had to wait until Monday to call the customer service because it is closed on weekends. I had to throw out all my food and order food all weekend which incurred an extra 200$. I called Whirlpool on Monday and was told a technician would only come on June 30th. 8 DAYS LATER!!!!I did some research and found a certified whirlpool technician myself who was able to come the next day only to find out the fridge has no gas and this is an assembly defect - WHIRLPOOLS FAULT. Whirlpool would have to send me a brand new fridge (These fridges are NOT TESTED?!). I was asked to call to arrange the exchange, I asked for compensation as I have already spent over 500$ and now would have to wait another week with no fridge and they refused to compensate....They told me I would get a call in the next 48 hours to let me know when I would get the new fridge and 3rd day later, still no call.I received a call on Friday to tell me they approved the exchange...Really now and would have to wait another week. That is over 2 weeks with no fridge, I sent a private message last week to Whirlpool, no answer, I spoke to customer service twice, they cant help me and do not want to compensate me. I have never been so frustrated and mistreated by a supposedly « reputable » company? WORST PRODUCT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!

I purchased a replacement gas range (whirlpool) approximately 3 years ago. Its not the top of the line, no bells or whistles such as a self-cleaning oven or such. I did love the three huge grates on top, one which is interchangeable with a flat grill. If it only worked it would be a decent range. The center oblong burner struggled to ignite in full from the beginning. Often, I light the thing with a grill lighter. But the thing that pisses me off more than anything is the F2 error that appears 70% of the time on the control panel when I am preheating the freaking oven. I am NOT replacing the control panel on a $400.00 range. What I have discovered is I can hit off my power at the main, not once, but 2-3xs and reset or over ride the damn thing. I read this F2 code is a common occurrence so I got to thinking, why? My conclusion is the heat from the oven is vented up & directly on the control board panel. Really now, whos bright idea was it to expose a control board to repeated temps of 350+? Hate this appliance. Next range will NOT be a new one, Im looking to replace this junk with something mom or grandma had that lasted decades, not a couple years. Shame on you Whirlpool for producing such low quality, disposable products. By the way, I just went through this with a new fridge so theres much to be desired with new appliances. Theyre junk, designed to fail.

My wife and I bought a Whirlpool water heater NU50T121-403, SER# 0733323 as we researched online the best efficient water heater for the money... which was actually more than we budgeted for. We purchased it from LOWES and our Plumber had to return the first heater due to a huge dent on the outside of the body once it was removed from the box. LOWES replaced it, no problem and he installed it. GREAT, HOT water for about six (6) months. Pilot light went out and has continued failing after relighting numerous times! Now we have the four (4) blinks indicating that the Honeywell gas control needs to be replaced only after 27 months of use. Whirlpool offers 12 year warranty on tank & parts, but come to find out, not this part. We were both raised on Whirlpool products and thought we based on our parents successes of various Whirlpool products, we were buying quality brand. We were soon disappointed and will never buy another Whirlpool manufactured Brand again!!

The machine would fill up and when it would start to wash, it wouldnt, it would stop. And a loud humming noise was coming from the back.I shut it off and turned it back on and it wouldnt clear. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to clear it and start over. The bearings are gone now and I was going to have a repairman come and look at it, but now I wont bother! The electric range was purchased June 2011. In June 2012, I purchased the extended warranty from Whirlpool (or their agent). The range is located in a summer cottage, so it has minimal use. I cleaned the self-clean oven last week after carefully reading the manual. Manual did not state to remove the chrome drip pans on the top, just “remove oven racks and storage drawer contents”. The oven cleaning caused the right rear burner pan to turn bronze/black. I called Whirlpool. I was referred to Warranty folks who told me they will not cover it because it is cosmetic and referred me back to Whirlpool (as it was WP instructions that were incorrect!) I am very sorry I bought this machine. CU rated it pretty good. Nope. 1 - It rarely dries everything completely. e.g., the collars of t-shirts or turtleneck shirts are damp after the load is finished. I have to run the machine again....Energy efficient? Energy schmefficient. and I havent even TRIED to use the low heat delicate cycle. 2 - The cute modern buttons are hard to push in. 3 - The top of the machine doesnt have a level lid... Its curved. Not very useful for setting anything on while you work at any part of your laundering process.

We bought all new appliances, and within a year, the range and microwave are not working correctly and the refrigerator has rust on the doors. We called about the rust on the doors and were told that it is not stainless steel as advertised and rust is not covered. Fortunately, we purchased an extended warranty, which will cover the repairs to the oven and microwave. Well see how it goes. Stainless steel appliances really arent stainless steel, so they are misrepresenting their products to many people.

This is truly a piece of junk! My water heater is 2 1/2 years old and the pilot light will not stay on. Was told that I needed a thermal coupler and paid $30 for shipping. Installed it and still the pilot light will not stay on. Was told again that I needed to replace the main control. Another $30 for shipping. Had that installed and the pilot light stayed on but no hot water. The light was blinking 4x (temperature too hot). WHAT!!? ALL I GOT WAS COLD WATER! Now I was told I need to replace the temperature sensor and they wanted another $30! I told them to I was going to junk it and buy a different brand.

Since purchasing original refrigerator 2 years ago I have multiple problems. Freezer was icing up to the point where drawers could not be opened, after numerous service calls, door was replaced which did not resolve problem. Refrigerator was replaced on warranty. Soon after light control circuit board had to be replaced. Next light control had to be recalibrated. Now, with the unit being approx. 1 yr old, rust spots are appearing on freezer door. Whirlpool rep advised this problem is not covered on warranty and would not provide any information as to what company contacts could be used to pursue the issue. Very upset and disappointed with product and customer service.

I bought a Whirlpool fridge 4/23/2013. Thanksgiving it went out. I had a repair company come look at it to see how much it would be to repair. He said the compressor was out, it has a freon leak, and the electric board has a relay that is acting up. Basically it would cost $600 or more to fix. I only paid $750, mind you. Whirlpool customer service said if we pay to have it fixed then send them the paid receipt. They would then give me a 6 month service plan for future repairs if needed. Please tell me how that helps me now? A voucher for $200 or offer something to help me now. Not a happy customer. Thanks for nothing Whirlpool.

In open concept homes, manufacturers need to consider the refrigerator’s noise — ice makers included. We hear every single clink and buzz. We love (and prefer) the french door concept, but the freezer drawer, when it’s fully loaded, is difficult to open and close. Also, the stainless steel scratches WAY too easily.

I purchased Duet washer 3 years ago, but it wasnt installed until a little over a year and a half ago. Machine started making loud noise during spin cycle, and eventually would not spin the water out of the machine. I contacted Whirlpool and was told there was a defect in that particular WP model and if it was confirmed by a provided tech, WP would provide the parts for the repair. The tech confirmed the problem, and I was told the repair would still cost over $450, even with the free parts. When I approached WP and asked them to fix the machine since it was a known defect, it was denied that there was a defect.

I have a Whirlpool double oven. When I attempted to use the self-clean feature according to manufacture instruction, the bottom oven stopped cleaning in the middle of the cycle. I had a repairman out and he replaced the thermal fuse in the back of the oven. It cost $85. I didnt attempt to clean it again for another few months since I dont use the bottom oven often. When I did attempt to use the self-clean feature according to manufacture instruction, the same thing happened. I called the repairman and he said that the thermal fuse would blow every time I tried to clean the oven, because of the way the oven was manufactured. I contacted Whirlpool and they were not at all helpful. I intend to contact them again.

Whirlpool Cabrio - Clothes come out of the washer wrinkled, twisted and soap stained. I use the exact soap products they recommend in the proper amounts. Bought them in September of 2014. Wish I could return them. Too low of a water level that cannot be adjusted. Not fully rinsing the soap out of the clothes. Washing takes twice as long as with my former 25 year old washer. Dryer is new technology and energy efficient yet wont remove wrinkles from permanent press clothes.Uses hardly any water so clothes must be rinsed at least one or two times to get the soap spots off. Clothes always come out extremely wrinkled. Not all items can be put in the dryer so ironing is back in my life again. Some items come out so twisted and wrinkled that ironing wont even help. Dryer isnt much better at all and shirts and pants always have some wrinkles. Have had to bring some items to the dry cleaners to bring them back to a non wrinkled state. Whatever is saved in water and energy is more than made up by ironing and dry cleaning. The company representatives have sent service people out twice and they both said that the machines are performing as they were intended to. I do smaller washes and wash more often to try to get better results. I dont. Even though it is extra large capacity items such as blankets must be washed more than once as the water does not wet the entire blanket.

I then went to store to ask to return item. They said up to Whirlpool. On phone with Whirlpool over two hours, them switching from one department to another. No help. My wife and I purchased our new home in November 2014. The house was a foreclosure and therefore owned by a title company who gutted the home and installed all new appliances. Less than a year of ownership, the ice maker on the side by side fridge broke after normal use. Not having proof of purchase, I appealed to Whirlpool given the nature of my situation. They did NOTHING but try and sell me a new service agreement they offer to have it fixed. They cared little about my brand loyalty, situation or circumstances - all they wanted was to make more money off of the consumer. What ever happened to companies being accountable for the products they produce? What ever happened to companies wanting to do the right thing in order to retain loyal customers and increase satisfied word of mouth? Stay clear of Whirlpool... Theyre only out for themselves.

I would not, at this time, even really give this product 1 star, but that was the lowest rating allowable. We purchased a Whirlpool Gold French Door Refrigerator at Lowes a couple of years ago after our Amana was toasted by a close proximity lightning strike. (It got more than just our frig, but the replacement frig is the only item we have had issues with.) We even got the extended warranty thru Lowes for the unit. Shortly after the extended warranty expired we started having issues with the bottom freezer door icing up. We thought that possibly the grandkids had not shut the freezer. So we cleaned up the ice around the door, but the problem persisted. The ice cream in the freezer was rock solid, to get it out of the container you had to put it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. The items in the frig were also frozen. So we emptied the frig and freezer, unplugged the unit and let it sit for a couple of days with the doors all open. We then plugged it back in and hoped for the best. It seemed to be ok for a couple of days then the ice on the freezer door appeared again. At this point, I contacted Whirlpool to see who was a licensed repair company in our area. I contacted the licensed repair service, explained my issue, they got the model and serial number info and ordered what parts could conceivably be the culprits. The tech came, the unit was frozen up, all the vents in the freezer were showing icing. So he removed the back of the freezer compartment and thawed the unit out. At the same time I mentioned that the ice maker had quit working, he found that the wiring connection was not properly connected and fixed that while he had all the stuff out. After re-assembly he ran all the diagnostic tests Whirlpool lists and found everything passed. Since the boxes of parts had not been opened they could all be returned to stock. So no charge for parts, as he could not find indication that any were needed. So 1 service call at $100 and it appeared that maybe the issue was resolved, not the case. Not even a month later, issue re-occurred. No grandkids had been there, no instance of the freezer possibly left ajar. Another service call, and by the time the tech arrived, since I had unplugged the unit and emptied it again, all the frost/ice was melted. $100 for a service call, tests all came back as nothing indicated as not functioning. So if I dont put too much stuff in the freezer or too much stuff in the frig it will run without freezing up for about a month. Oh and weekly put it into the defrost mode a couple of times. Now it has started making a tic-tic-tic or rat-tat-tat sound to the fun and games. If the noise is non-stop, it only stops when you open the freezer door. Leading me to believe it is a fan. (Correct, I was told by the local Whirlpool licensed repair facility.) I have spent the weekend, again thawing out my unit in hopes that the noise will cease. It is loud enough to be heard at the other end of the house. No such luck, so I spent an unproductive 1-1/2 hours on a call to Whirlpool yesterday. The larger part of the time was on hold waiting to talk with someone, anyone. Due to our unusually high call volume, wait-time is long today. Thank you for your patience. To retain your place in line, do not hang up. Finally, I got a rep named Karen, who sounded like she was almost asleep. She had very little to offer except, Im sorry you are experiencing these problems. I have no record of previous complaints like yours on record for this model of our product.Hello, I found 929 reports of the same issue on Consumer Reports. Oh, you cant believe what you read on the internet was her response to that tidbit. She offered to sell me a Repair Plus 1 Plan for only $359.95. A licensed repair service comes, repairs your unit and the plan gives you ONE YEAR of peace of mind. Lets see... I said... so you are offering me an extended one year warranty? Oh, but it comes with a repair first then one-year peace of mind. Seems that Whirlpool has moved into selling warranty extensions rather than fixing the issues with these Whirlpool Gold French Door refrigerators. With what I have already paid for service calls added to this Repair plus 1 Plan, I would have invested $$$ enough to BUY A NEW FRIG that is not a Whirlpool product.Seems a bit foolish to me. So Whirlpool is not admitting that there is a design or manufacturing problem with these units. Even the ones sold just this year seem to have the same issue. They have not corrected this and it appears they have no intent to do anything about it. She did indicate that they had a known issue with the drain and that a fix was offered for that (a redesigned drain unit could be installed). But since I was not getting ice build up on the bottom of my freezer compartment I did not appear to need the redesigned drain unit. Her evaluation of my issue was that the drain did not appear to be a problem. So after a fruitless call to Whirlpool, oh and they did have my previous emails concerning my issues on file but did not consider my complaints to be part of a known issue, I have the local tech coming back to see if possibly there is something, anything to be done with this refrigerator. So another $100 at least, likely no resolution if the service tests all come up normal again! So when the tech comes, I am going to ask him to contact the service engineer that he is supposed to have the contact info for (per Karen at Whirlpool) and see if he can get any resolution to my issues by using that service engineer.

Within 5 years, this is my experience: A broken brand new Whirlpool fridge after 6 months of purchase; a broken oven that needed repair after 1 year, and today, the oven door just shattered in pieces after I heard a loud noise from the kitchen, almost injured the kids. And guess what, I just returned a new Tilt-Head Stand Mixer KitchenAid that wouldnt stay in place; the head keeps on tilting and would not stay locked. After being on hold on the phone for almost 3 weeks for a return, I found out it was a Whirlpool brand family. This is horrible, I would suggest to never buy the Whirlpool brand; their products are a real nightmare and their customer service is not reliable. If you do buy from them, expect unreliable products and very long long wait periods on the phone.

We have had the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer for 4 years now. Let me start off by saying the first 6 months was wonderful. Then after that, the machines were breaking down every time we turned around at the worst times. With 2 adults and 4 children, you see my point. We have had a repairman at our house to fix these machines 6 times and now, we are getting a code on our washer that is F1. Looking up codes online shows to be the computer system of the machine and a $400-$600 repair, might I add. Please save your money and buy a better and more dependable set than Whirlpool. Washers and dryers used to last 20-25 years, or so my parents and grandparents did. All of the manufacturers are building cheap junk so we can buy them more often.

We bought Whirlpool Frontloader Washing Machine not over 1 month ago and it started to malfunction showing Ed1 error on its display. We contacted the service center and it was taking too long to have a visit from a technician. Then the technician, who also installed the unit came and checked the unit. He called someone from corporate office or from support team to ask what is error code Ed1 and overheard over the phone that this is a known issue on the brand. The technician said it is possible that unit will be replaced or only the motor. I contacted the brand support thru Messenger and requested to have the unit replaced, because again, the unit is not over 1mo old.I was advised it is not possible as replacement of unit is only applicable when the issue happened within seven days of delivery. STUPID ISNT? Policy is something unworthy for a product that is over 30k. And again, unit started to malfunction not over a month after it was first used. I would say we pretty much took care of the unit, we only use it twice a week. Placed it where it was perfect to put. Followed every advice given to us by the technician who installed it but still, it malfunctioned a few weeks after we started to use it. I am ashamed of the brand itself, we should have chosen Panasonic or Samsung instead not a dumb brand like Whirlpool. I certainly do not recommend the brand for a washing machine unit. Frontloader is a crap.

Paid between $800.00 and $1,000 (cant recall exactly) three years ago and the oven locked recently while cooking a pizza. Couldnt get the lock to disengage and the oven turned on self-clean mode without me doing anything. The pizza burned crispy before I finally got the door open. The failure code for the control panel showed up. I didnt buy the extended warranty because we only needed it to last 5 - 6 years until we do a full kitchen remodel and the really inexpensive (~ $250) oven that was installed by the previous owners to sell the house lasted six years with no trouble. Now we have to pay $391.00 to repair what I consider a brand new oven. In doing some research it looks like the control panel fail is common and is associated with using the self clean mode which we only used once. Great oven if you only need one for a few years and are willing to pay the price.

Since the tub and bearings are all one part, we were told by the technician that the part and labor costs would be $379.99 to repair it. I purchased a Whirlpool Duet front-loading washing machine on September 27, 2010. By October of 2011, it was making a loud grinding noise during any spin cycle. I called for service and was told I needed new bearings which entailed rebuilding the machine. I had purchased a 5-year extended warranty. I was originally told by the warranty company they would replace the machine. After waiting two months, and after several contacts made by me to the retailers customer service, I was told the machine would not be replaced, but repaired. After the repair, on January 6, 2012, the machine now rattles and shakes so much during the final spin cycles. It is literally impossible to have a conversation with someone standing next to you in the same vicinity as the washer, it is that loud. I am sorely disappointed with the Whirlpool line of products and with the retailer who has been dragging their feet on customer satisfaction.

On 2-26-13 I received my new Whirlpool Refrigerator, Model WRF989SDAE, KSN 4191832, 28.6 cu ft, french door for a price of $2500.00. November 2014, refrigerator stopped working. Though it was not under warranty any longer, the repair company advised me that the problem was a warranty item and repaired it at no charge. This process took several hours of work by the repairman and two visits. He advised that this is an issue with the refrigerator and Whirlpool is aware. Now, May 2015, only 6 months later, ice is building up on the back wall of the freezer and the freezer is running constantly and very loud. Bringing in repair person, hopefully before it stops again. Appears to be related to the initial issue. I cannot trust this refrigerator and would highly advise everyone not to purchase a Whirlpool refrigerator.
