Purchased a Whirpool Cabrio washer. We bought this on sale at a Lowes and paid half the original price. Get it delivered and set up no issues. After about a week of washing clothes, there is a God awful smell coming from the washer because the water does not drain completely! I have used refresh washer cleaner to try and get it to go away. Most of the time there is no smell, but about once every other week, the smell is so bad it permeates through my home and makes it smell of rotten garbage. I do not recommend this washer. The cycle times jump around from the original time it tells you and the smell is just so bad. The little tray where you put liquid detergent doesnt even have a way to drain the detergent into the laundry properly and after every wash I have to dump the tray out because it stays filled with water where the water comes in and causes the detergent to rise out of the tiny hole on top. You might as well just add the detergent directly onto your clothes. I use an excellent brand of detergent that has top reviews and my clothes still dont come out smelling good from this washer. I have tried other detergents too to make sure it wasnt that one. I wish my hubby and I wouldve never paid for this thing and gone with a different one.

Purchased this oven on 9/12 from Sears, did not purchase an extended warranty and didnt think it was necessary. Im a 64 year old widow and only use the oven on holidays, to date Ive used the over 5 times. With Easter coming, I decided to clean the oven. Followed the instructions, the door locked and the oven died. Im totally disappointed, now it would cost over 100.00 to repair, money I cannot afford. Called Sears and all I was told over and over again that they can send a repaid person and I would have to pay. I was also told that I should have purchased a Kenmore and I wouldnt have had a problem and finally I was told that they couldnt fix it and referred me to whirlpool customer service, who also told me it would cost over 100.00. A 19 month oven should not have died. It should have cleaned the oven and continue to work for many more years. Again, Im upset, angry and disappointed with sears & whirlpool. And dont know what to do. Does anyone else have this problem with the oven, is there a recall?

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator for my condo in February of 2012. During the past six months it started to freeze everything in the food compartment, and then during this past month the freezer started to slowly die. Ice cream became soup. After calling repair and examination it appears the fridge has basically died and it would have cost me over $500 to fix a $570 refrigerator. That type of lifespan is unacceptable. Before energy efficiency demands from the government, refrigerators lasted much longer. In the 50s, 60s, the refrigerator my parents owed lasted nearly 30 years. Am I expecting too much? Apparently so. I went out and purchased a Frigidaire this time. Hopefully, Ill get a few more years out of that one (Not happy).

We just recently remodelled our kitchen and decided to buy a Whirlpool Range. Big mistake. First off, the range was advertised as a built in but it ended up looking like a slide in. We were disappointed but decided it was ok as long as the range performed fine. However, within 6 months of buying it, the oven fan broke and the oven became unusable. I used it only 2 - 3 times before it gave up. Extremely disappointed. Our old oven was sturdier and lasted many years and was in a very good condition when we gave it away. Extremely disappointed since we paid a lot for it.

I purchased this Deep Cabrio Washer and Dryer a year ago. We moved into our new house and put in the new washer and dryer. During the first load in the washer, the spin cycle blew the ring right off of the hose and flooded our new laundry room and bedroom in the basement. My husband had to put a clamp on it to secure it. The washer does not wash the clothes, in fact you have to always wash it under Deep Water and wash it twice using twice as much detergent as you normally would. This washer is horrendous. My best friend bought the same one at the same time and she hates it just as much as I do as it does not clean clothes. Whoever designed this washer should be fired from Whirlpool. Im hoping through Nebraska Furniture Mart and Whirlpool I can find a solution.

Bought Sep. 2012. April 2016 stopped cooling. Four visits over 4 weeks, various parts replaced, coolant refilled. Stopped cooling again soon after first 3 visits. After 4th visit cooled moderately (42 degrees) for 5 weeks. June 24, renewed service contract for 1 year for $112. July 12, stopped cooling! Took 8 days for service person to arrive; 5 days for him to tell Whirlpool that repair needed 5 parts, one of which is no longer made! But they sold me a service contract?? 16 days after initial call, Whirlpool says my case is in adjudication, which will take 7-10 business days. So I wont know what they are offering till Aug. 8th-11th. Four weeks living out of a cooler. The product is rotten, and the service is worse.Just recently discovered that all this time when I thought I was talking to Whirlpool, it was actually sub-contracted to AIG. Yes, the AIG that needed a massive government bail-out. Whirlpool customer service refused to talk to me; referred me back to AIG. The only other all-refrigerator (no freezer - I have a 20-year-old Sears freezer in the kitchen that works just fine) I can find is an inch too tall for the space. But I plan to spend for my handyman to raise the cupboard floor above, rather than buy another Whirlpool! Most of May, four weeks in July/Aug without a fridge. Hours on hold. The first service firm they used was incompetent, couldnt find the cause. I wonder how much of my $1,353 purchase cost, and my $112 service contract theyll refund?

Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load, Short Agitator to protect clothing, cost reasonable, on sale $800.00 both (Aug. 2013) - Sears credit no interest. Moved, and had to sell after a year, but I anticipated a long life r/t rating/reviews online. One Problem: no setting to soak clothing that may need it. I bought the largest Whirlpool Cabrio to make sure my Queen bedspread (heavy blanket type fur on one side) would fit. Because of the short agitator I could have bought the smaller one I discovered. I could fit 6 regular side and 4 beach heavy beach size towels in it easily, or two Queen quilts in at a time. I rarely needed an Xlg water setting. The dryer had a steam only setting but I never tried it because it was set up in the apartment when I arrived and the delivery people were not very bright. Put the Dryer farthest from the vent, washer farthest from faucets, and put hot and cold hoses on opposite spigots. I did not want to chance they set up the steam section wrong, as well. I moved across country 1 year later, but have trust the W/D would do well. My last Sears brand (made by Whirlpool) only had one minor problem (on warranty) and lasted a good 8-10 years before moving and selling them to another couple. They were still in wonderful working order (front loader).

I have 2 rent houses. I purchased 2 Whirlpool gas water heaters with a 6 year warranty, from Lowes in 2010 and 2011. The warranty just expired on 1 and almost expired on the other. I read the reviews and decided I would not spend my time to get a part, I did not want to put any more money into a bad product. Both water heaters leaked at the Honeywell gas control valve without any warning and flooded both properties. I replaced these with Rheem gas water heaters from Home Depot.

I purchased an electric double oven range on 11/20/11, model # GGE388XS00 and serial # D02584385. Something is getting in between the glass on the bottom oven door and theres no way for me to clean it out. I feel it is an issue with the seals they have around the glass oven doors.Whirlpool says its common for that to happen. They say its condensation. But it doesnt look like condensation to me. Whirlpool says theres nothing they can do about it.I had this same issue with a Whirlpool microwave oven I had. I finally ditched the microwave and bought a new one, because after a while, it starts looking really nasty. I never complained about the microwave, but after buying a new oven and it starting to do the same thing, I thought Id better complain and see what they would do about it. Theyre not doing anything about it.

Whirlpool Gold French Door refrigerator freezer on bottom - I purchased my refrigerator at Lowe’s on 9/26/12 and it cooled OK for the first 3-4 months but it was very noisy along with water dripping from the ice maker door. Then sometime in Feb. my freezer started to warm so I contacted Lowe’s service and they scheduled Tech. to come the following week. He found that freezer evaporator was freezing - suspected a leak and ordered one. Replaced that, and a short time later it was warm again. To make a long story short they have been to my house approx a dozen times replacing the freezer evaporator, control boards, adding refrigerate, and replace the reversing valve, and no time at all it was warm in the freezer again. Tech could not find anything wrong with it and added a little refrigerate and the problem was solved... I thought! Two months later the freezer was warming again. Now they say it’s the evaporator on the cold food side has a leak and needs replacing. Been waiting two weeks now on parts. Talked with Whirlpool and Lowe’s about replacement with a new unit but they tell me they only cover parts and labor. Needless to say this is my last Whirlpool appliance!!

Whirlpool appliance suite purchased May 2013. Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator with bottom freezer, Model #GX5FHTXV. At the end of my kitchen remodel, I was excited to have my new Whirlpool appliances delivered by an authorized Whirlpool installer. When the refrigerator install was complete, I alerted the delivery people the French doors were not aligned properly. There was at least 1/4 difference at the top of the doors. They did their best to fix the problem to no avail.I called the Specialty Appliance store to complain and they had a repair man come a few short days later to examine the issue. He inspected the problem and had to order new door parts. A few long weeks later, the repair man came to install the new parts. Well, to my disgust, the new parts did not fix the problem. This next sentence only refers to the place I bought the darn thing. I then called Specialty Appliance to inquire about returning the appliance and of course they wouldnt take the appliance. Im stuck with it. The workman ship is cheap. The internal drawers are poor at best. I spent a good deal of money on what I thought would be a good product. My previous appliance suite was Whirlpool and I NEVER had issues the 13 years I had them.Whirlpool Gold freestanding double oven gas range, Model #GGG388LX. Problem: oven catches fire while self-cleaning oven. Big problem. Takes forever to get rid of the smell that leaves behind. The range itself has worked well. No issues with cooktop and its easy to clean. The grates dont stay black and look rusted in a couple of places. Oven cooks well as I know how to make adjustments as to not overcook meals.Following cleaning instructions provided by Whirlpool, I wipe out the oven (when cool) after spills if there are any. I thought I would run the self clean since Ive had the appliance over a year to properly maintain it. BAD IDEA. After running the self clean cycle for about 35 min, I noticed fire. Wanting to protect my $60K remodel investment, I quickly cancelled the clean cycle and watched smoke pour out of the top. Not a fun experience. It took about 15 minutes for the fire inside the bottom compartment to finally go out. Wont be self cleaning my self-clean oven again! By the way, I didnt clean the oven with chemicals because the owners manual states not to and I HATE using those chemical anyway. Again, stuck with an appliance I am not satisfied with. Lesson learned? Yes, I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again. Kinda wish I still had my old white ones...

I had an upscale Frigidaire suite of kitchen appliances and I loved them. A few years later I moved and needed a new set. I thought Whirlpool was about the same and I bought a Whirlpool set. The stove wont boil water or even fry an egg. It heats up and cuts off continuously. I called a service rep out and he called the engineer who told him it is designed like that and I need to use hot water on the stove to boil it. I was shocked at his ignorance and insulted by his stupidity. Ive been cooking for 60+ years and everyone who cooks knows you use cold water to boil water. But really, the stove does not cook anything. When frying eggs the burners cut off every few seconds to the point you cannot cook anything with it and the engineer said thats the way they designed it. DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL. THEY WONT EVEN BOIL WATER. HORRIBLE STOVE AND ONCE YOU HAVE IT YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT.

Purchased our hot water heater in August of 2011. About 3 days ago, it just stopped working. Surely it should last longer than this, right? Nope apparently I was taken! We called the manufacturer and described the issue. They said it was the thermopile. They could send us another out in a few days but we didnt want to wait so we paid $50 for a new one we were able to locate at a hardware store. Nobody sells these! We replaced the thermopile but no results... Pilot will not stay lit. Called Whirlpool back and they said to hit the reset button which we did. Called a technician (several) which wouldnt touch the heater. Said nobody works on these because they are riddled with issues. I pleaded with him to test it which he did. He said the control box is out! He said to cut our losses and buy a new one! I am so very upset! I cant afford another one! We called Whirlpool back again to see what they would say this time - they are sending us another control box! After reading all of the complaints and being without hot water, I am not hopeful of a good result! I plan on replacing the control box that they send and then saving for a new heater! I want my money back which Ive heard just wont happen! I have also had nothing but issues with my gas stove made by Whirlpool ever since it was only 6 months old. STAY AWAY FROM WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!! There is a chronic and well-known problem with recent French door, bottom freezer refrigerators sold by Whirlpool, including the the brand names KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Maytag, and Amana. The problem is caused when the defrost drain freezes, preventing defrosted water from reaching the evaporation pan. After enough water builds up, it overflows along the front of the refrigerator. In my particular case, we have wood floors and they were ruined by the water. After doing some investigation on the internet, I have learned that this problem affected approximately 1,500 model numbers sold under these names. These model numbers are listed in a Technical Service Pointer issued by Whirlpool. In August 2013, after experiencing several years of problems with these units, Whirlpool issued a Technical Service Pointer W10632338, advising service technicians that a new P Trap drain tube kit was now available, and suggesting that the defective duck bill check valve should be replaced by this new part. The problem for years had been that the rubber duck bill check valve would, over time, become sticky (or tacky) and would then not open - causing water to build up above it. Eventually, the water would freeze and since newly defrosted water could no longer escape, it would build up and eventually overflow. From what Ive seen online, plus a conversation with the Sears technician who come out to diagnose and repair my leak, I am convinced there are many thousands of customers who have experienced this problem. Because it takes a while for the rubber check valve to become sticky and no longer open, it is not uncommon for the problem to not appear until after the standard one-year warranty has expired. From reports, Whirlpool has sometimes acknowledged the problem and effected repair of refrigerators no longer under warranty. But what about those customers, like me, who have experienced water damage to floors and cabinets? Shouldnt Whirlpool be liable for those repairs, too? Id be interested to know if anyone knows of plans for a class action lawsuit.

It does not come close to cleaning clothes. It now takes me three times longer to do laundry because I have to check every piece of clothing for any stains. Whirlpool Washing Machine WTW4800XQ4 - This is an expensive piece of garbage. My clothes come out with lint still on them. They do not smell clean and in fact, I wonder if they even are. My blankets come out heavy and soaking wet, so much so that I have to repeat a rinse and drain cycle before I can place into the dryer. The machine is always off balance and its so loud that my almost deaf grandmother who cant hear a thing wants to know what that noise is when shes halfway across the house each time Im doing laundry. Ive called Whirlpool and they have sent a tech out who insisted it was I who did not know how to load a washer and that was causing all of the problems. I found this interesting since I am 37 and never encountered difficulty with a washing machine before. Our visit concluded when he insisted it was user error and went on his way. The next day, the washer was not even cycling, and I phoned whirlpool back. This time, there was a computer problem and there was no arguing about it. The technician came back out reset the internal computer. The machine seemed to run more quietly for about a week, but went right back to its old loud self. The only improvement Ive noted since then is it does not move across the floor now while washing. I wish I never bought this thing and would certainly never recommend it.

We bought a small refrigerator/freezer Model WRT112CZJZ for a guest house. When not in use it was turned off at the unit control panel with the doors left open. There was a power failure and when the power was restored the refrigerator turned itself back on. Needless to say it must have been running for 2 weeks with the doors open and the condensation filled the holding tank and then proceeded to overflow on the wood floor. The floor was ruined. There was no indication in the manual to warn of the unit restarting when power is restored so it must be unplugged or the circuit breaker turned off to avoid a similar problem.

Whirlpool washing machine #WTW58ESVW1 - I bought this thinking Whirlpool was a good brand name. I was totally wrong. My machine is two years old and the auto sensor switch has quit working 6 times. One time it only did 6 loads of laundry. Another it only worked for 6 weeks. That time I replaced the switch myself to save money on a repairman. Ironically the switch is still under warranty but they will not replace it unless a serviceman comes to confirm that the switch is dead again. This is because 2 have already been returned to them. Obviously, there is a problem with the switch. The company will do nothing. They used the excuse that I did not purchase an extended warranty. This is merely an excuse. Do not purchase any Whirlpool products. You will be wasting your money and time having to end up going to go out to do laundry.

The water was about 10 inches deep and many things were ruined. I proceeded back to Lowes and purchased another exact unit. This morning I awoke to the sound of what seemed to be water bubbling, only to enter the basement and see exactly what I saw just three weeks previously... another flooded basement from water just pouring out the side of the unit. This is an obvious defect in craftsmanship. Now I find myself with a flooded basement, no hot water, and a decision to make. Do I fight for another replacement or give up on the brand? A replacement water heater will solve my lack of hot water but for now, the question is for how long? Not to mention the cost and time spent with the clean up I did twice.

Then yesterday the freezer part and ice maker have stopped working AGAIN!! We probably have spent $2000 on repairs. Complete disaster of a fridge!! Do not purchase one!!

We bought our Whirlpool washer and dryer set through a PX at Fort Hood, Texas. Took it home, plugged it in and... nothing. Called the service desk, and they sent a repairman right away. He replaced the panel and the water intake fuse (I think? It was a fuse that dealt with the water filling) and then we were off and running. I thought, Great! Now I can wash laundry! After about a couple months, the washer would be so stinking loud in the spin cycle, we would plan outside activities ha ha. Fast forward 2 years, the loud sound continues, but Ive not had any problems. Then, Im washing a load of bed sheets, and just happen to walk past the washer while its spinning... I smelled something HOT and BURNING! Sure enough, it was the washer! I hurried and stopped the spin and unplugged the machine. Opened the door to pull out my sheets, and white smoke comes pouring out of the machine. IT NEARLY STARTED A HOUSE FIRE. I was praising God I smelled the problem. Who knows what would have happened. So I call an appliance shop I trust. They send out a guy who tells me I might as well purchase a new machine because the bearing is bad, and the repair is going to cost $600+. Never again, Whirlpool. Never again. You dont endanger my familys safety in exchange for a quick buck on cheap parts. Ridiculous. And, now that I am reading all these reviews on this website about my washer, I am floored. How is there not a class action lawsuit against this company? Mold and fire-hazards are serious infractions, in my opinion.

Whirlpool’s WFG505M0BS is a reliable gas range. It doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles (no self-cleaning mode or convection oven), but it’s also not priced as such. If you’re looking for an appliance that’s sleek, smartly designed, and quick to heat up, it won’t disappoint.

We got a french door Whirlpool refrigerator about 15 months ago. Model Wrf757sdem01. There were problems from day one. Serviced about 6 times by 3 different companies... Died again less than 2 weeks ago. Finally the store decided to replace it. Was under an extended warranty. We have been without a fridge for over 10 days. It has caused multiple problems for us as we are out in the country. We have to haul ice to 4 coolers... Wait on the new one (a Whirlpool). Plumber had to be called in and he has had 3 of this same model replaced! Years ago you could trust Whirlpool. Now apparently not. I hope we do not have to regret our replacement one which still is not installed! By the way the water filters have to be replaced to the tune of 100.00 a year. We are not going to use an icemaker or get water from the new one.

I purchased this Whirlpool WTW7800XW2 washer expecting it to last many years. As a senior citizen, I spent well over $700 on this model because of its large capacity and water saving feature. It has been in service for just over two years and has had limited use. Last week the glass top popped up and I notice that it broke at the hinge. This is definitely a design flaw. The washer has a lock feature and with the broken top, it is useless. I called Whirlpool and the customer service rep said she could sell me a new $250.00 lid at a 25% discount. Looking online, I found that hundreds of consumers have this same problem. Whirlpool refuses to acknowledge the defect. The customer service rep indicated that I should have bought an extended warranty. This is my last Whirlpool appliance ever!

I purchased a Whirlpool French door refrigerator model # gx5fhdxvyo4 in June 2011. Four months ago, ice was forming on the bottom of the freezer. Repair person replaced a clogged plug leading to evaporation tray. Its March 2013 and repair person now has to replace evaporator motor part # W10128551. I contacted Whirlpool and was told the warranty has expired (one year). This repair will be around $175. How can I trust a Whirlpool product in the future?

I join the many who have posted about the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer cracked lid issue. Our Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7800XW2 glass-lid washer suffered the same (inevitable) fate – cracked plastic on the lid at the hinge stress points, after the washer was beyond warranty. Same story - runaround/no help from Whirlpool. Finally bit the bullet and shelled out the $200 for a new lid. HOWEVER, I didnt want to just replace it and have the same issue down the road. I removed the spring-loaded units that support the hinges, hoping to just remove the springs to release the pressure. I found that the springs are integral to holding all the components together in this unit. These are extremely heavy-duty extension springs, so I took them to my hardware store (TrueValue) and found springs the exact same length, but with a smaller wire diameter and thus requiring less force to extend. I replaced the original springs with these (Century Spring Corp. - #C-143 - 9/16”x3”x.054”). The lid operates perfectly, and now there is very little resistance at the hinge stress point. The only difference is there is no longer a “damping” effect when lowering the lid - it must be lowered manually rather than being allowed to fall on its own. That’s a small correction in habit, but will ensure that the replacement lid lasts for the life of the washer.

We purchased a high end KitchenAid Refrigerator Dec 2018. Rust developed on
We purchased a high end KitchenAid Refrigerator Dec 2018. Rust developed on water dispenser door in less than year. They would not honor warranty. Since March we have had ongoing cooling problems with 5 service calls and 4 different fixes and unit still doesnt work. Local authorized service company, Fields, in Jacksonville FL is incompetent. Whirlpool doesnt return calls. The products value is not consistent with the high cost. Here are the gory details. Ref: Setzers, Jacksonville FL (sold unit). Fields Jacksonville FL (factory authorized service company).Less than 1 year in, it began to rust. We called for a Warranty check. Fields Appliance (their factory authorized service company) came out and agreed all 5 doors needed to be replaced. A month rocked on, finally we called to find out where the doors were, and were told Whirlpool (Makers of Kitchenaid) denied the claim. Citing that we lived near the coast! Well, our other appliances arent rusting and the refrigerator doesnt sit outside! They sent us a 6 oz bottle of rust cleaner. A few months later, this refrigerator stops cooling! This was in March, 3 months out of 1 yr warranty. The refrigerant system is warranted for 5 yrs. This was also right at the beginning of Covid 19 shutdown. Fields could not give us a appointment, due to shutdowns. So, I called a local company to fix it out of pocket. He discovered a leak in the coolant lines, fixed the leak and replaced the coolant ($453.61 on 4/9/20). Great, it works! About 3 weeks later, it stops cooling again. Called local service repairman out once more to see whats going on. He replaces a thermal bi metal sensor and well ahh! It works again ($100 on 4/28/2020).About 3 weeks after that, it stops working again! We are thinking by now, its a problem for Setzers, Whirlpool, and Fields. We call the local service repairman out to confirm and he states that the evaporator fan motor will need to be replaced, and that part replaces all sensors as well ($59.99 5/28/2020 service call). We call Setzers and schedule an appointment with Fields. First appointment we could get was 6/16/2020. Guy comes out, and cited a factory defect, per a technical bulletin he had, and relocated a sensor. Simple as that, he assured us it was fixed! Even though I pointed out it felt no cooler when he packed his things to leave. It did nothing! In the background Setzers (when they would call back) were supposedly working with Whirlpool to help fix the problem! Whirlpools reply was that since our repairman was not factory authorized, it completely voided our warranty! Explaining we had no choice, since Fields wouldnt come out and by now we are without a working refrigerator for 3 months, they could care less! Feeling totally frustrated, we call Fields again! On 6/19/2020, they send out another repairman. This guy came in, opened up the back, and immediately stated the refrigerant was overfilled. Didnt do any diagnostics, just told us that we were **, and walked away, without even putting the refrigerator back in place! Neither Fields rep hooked up a diagnostic tool to confirm any real issue, I guess they just knew! Total incompetence! So... As of now we have paid the local repairman ($448.33 on 6/26/2020) to order the evaporation fan motor and install it this coming Monday (7/20/2020). Total amount out of pocket at this point, $1053.90. It took that long to get here! Wish us luck! Setzers wiped their hands clean of the issue and told us to call Whirlpool. We did have not ever received callback.

So I called back and accepted but after getting off the phone looked online and found a washer that would be delivered on May 28th and it was just delivered no problem but now no one at WHIRLPOOL can find the subbed order to cancel and give me my refund from the out of stock washer... About six years ago we purchased a matching Whirlpool HE washer and dryer from Lowes. Because of some previous issues we had had with a dishwasher we had bought, and at the direction of a repairman, we bought the 4 year extended warranty when we bought the washing machine and dryer. Thank heavens!!! About 3 months after the manufacturers warranty expired, I began to have issues with the washer. Again, thank heavens I had purchased the warranty through Lowes because after 6 visits from the repairman to fix one problem after another, Lowes finally junked the machine and said it was no longer cost effective to try to repair it. I was SO frustrated! And, attempts to contact Whirlpool regarding the issues were COMPLETELY useless!!! Thinking it was just a fluke, I replaced the broken washer with another exact model (I know, I know... should have done my homework!).This time, after replacing the motherboard within two months of owning the new machine, the machine began to work fine, and washed great! Again, I thought I had just gotten a lemon with the previous machine. But, here we are 4 years into owning the new one, and it has completely quit working. Clothes smelled like mildew despite cleaning the machine as recommended. So, I called out a repairman, he said the transmission had gone out and it would be cheaper to just replace the machine. What?? I spent almost $700 on it only 4 years ago! When I told him this, his response was that he had seen repeated problems with this machine and felt like they were disposable washing machines that you had to figure would only last a few years before having to be replaced. Again, WHAT??I dont know about everyone else, but I dont have $700 to throw around every 3-4 years to replace new appliances because the manufacturers cant/wont make a better product. We had owned a Whirlpool dishwasher, and it had all kinds of problems too. So, once again, I contacted Whirlpool about the washing machine and got nowhere!!! SO disappointing!!! Absolutely the WORST customer service I have EVER seen!!! On hold forever, only to talk to a customer service rep who not only sounds bored to death with their job, but certainly less than sympathetic (probably from having to field questions all day long about the poor quality of the product), and less than helpful because Whirlpool has no desire to fix the issues. Needless to say, I will NEVER own another Whirlpool appliance again! SO disappointed!!!

2 years ago, we remodeled our kitchen. We replaced with all Whirlpool appliances. WHAT A MISTAKE! Our ice maker went crazy 1 month ago and now our dishwasher almost caught fire Memorial Day weekend while we were away! Thermal Fuse and stainless interior prevented us from losing our house to fire but really Whirlpool, you spend that kind of money and all appliances are breaking before theyre even 3 yrs old! My husband is very good at fixing things but when he diagnosed dishwasher, he said he has to find a way to fix wires in control panel because melted insulation. Now I am afraid of it. So if you purchase Whirlpool, expect maybe 2.5 to 3 yrs service and think of them like a disposable lighter, use it and throw away.

My 15 year old front loader quit working and was going to cost more to repair than we thought was worth it. So, we went shopping at Home Depot and based on discussions with salespeople ended up with the Whirlpool cabrio toploader. What a mistake. I am so disgusted with this washer I dont even know where to start. If there was any way we could return it we would do so. The clothes come out wrinkled, twisted, absolutely covered in pet hair and detergent and fabric softener residue. Yes, Im using HE detergent, in the correct amounts. Yes, Ive read the manual front to back. Yes, Ive tried all the troubleshooting suggestions. No, they dont make a damn bit of difference.I would give anything to have my old front loader back. It was a great little machine that did a wonderful job of cleaning our laundry. Pet hair was washed off, I could lay things out to dry and they werent all wrinkly and did not require ironing. Just about everything that comes out of this cabrio machine that I lay to dry needs to be ironed before it can be worn. It is just a horrible, horrible machine and Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for foisting this off on unsuspecting consumers.

I would like to know if anyone else is having trouble with the broiler unit. The unit quit working. Thankfully I had purchased the extended warranty. The guy came out, cleaned the orifice and called it good. The next day I went to use it, and guess what, it did not work!! So we thought maybe we needed to leave the oven door cracked open a bit... Well, guess what... It melted two of my knobs!! We called, got another guy out here. He checked everything. Even pulled the stove out to check out connections. Then he informs us that you can set the broiler to whatever temp you want. Thats new. So again, we try the broiler.... Guess what... It got to the temp and clicked off. Now I ask, how does one broil a steak if it does that? I did call Whirlpool directly and got nothing. Our model is WFG361LVQ2. So please, if anyone out there knows that this is how it is supposed to be... please let me know.

Terrible! I bought the washer in December of 2010. We began finding holes in clothes in March of 2011. We found that we had a small crack in our dryer. After trying to fix it ourselves, the crack came back. So, we replaced the dryer. After we replaced the dryer, we began to find more holes in our clothes. It was not the dryer causing the holes, but our duet Whirlpool washer. We had several drain error instances as well. We have had the service repair man out several times for the drain error problem. Ranging from a Mardi Gras bead in the drain pump, to several baby socks to a large adult tube sock. Id say its been at least 7 times. We had finally had enough of our clothes, which I would estimate to be at least $500 worth of clothing, the service repair man said he had never seen anything like it. That was in November of 2011. They said they would replace the tub and drum system but it would take several weeks to get the part in, which took us past our warranty. After numerous complaints, Whirlpool offered the best they could do, that was to extend our warranty (6 additional months). The first drum was broken upon delivery, so another would have to be ordered. There goes another week. Finally it came in. We were all but assured the problem would be fixed. Two days later, same drain error code! 3 more socks caught in the drain pump! Took the socks out myself after watching them do it so I didnt have to call them out again and pay the fee. Next day, there were more holes in clothes! Called and and they said they cant get a service guy out for at least a week! That was all during the Christmas and New Years holidays! January 9th, the service repair man came and said, Yep, its the same problem. We need to replace the tub and drum again. The part would be guaranteed to be in by Friday, January 13th!Guess what? Today I got a call, the parts were on back-order and it wont be until January 24th until they can become available. Seriously? Seriously?! I have a family of 6. Me, my wife, a 8 year old girl, a 7 year old girl, a 5 year old boy and an 18 month old girl. The piles upon piles of laundry are limitless waiting for empty promises. In the meantime, we have had to wash essential clothes (school clothes, socks, underwear, etc.) at laundromats, and friends and other family members houses. Whirlpool doesnt give a care about any of our problems. I come from a huge family, as does my wife. Together, we probably have 100 family members. I will crusade against Whirlpool for any and all appliances if this matter is not fixed and their customer service is not better!

We had to reschedule another tech on the following Monday 6/24/19 to replace the part. 8 days after the refrigerator stopped cooling. Now fast forward 2 weeks and now we have the exact same issue, whatever was fixed did not correct the issue. We had to call back into Whirlpool to make a setup another service call. We have to wait 5 more days until a service tech can come out to recheck the issue. Whirlpool offered no other assistance. We purchased this dishwasher (Gold Dishwasher WDF60SADB) because of its low 49-decibel rating. It goes over 60 decibels regularly and occasionally up to 70 during operation (not including drain noises which cannot be controlled by the dishwasher). We used a tablet app to confirm. Decibels are not linear, they are exponential. 70 decibels is what your average shower or dishwasher sounds like. 50 is about as quiet as a refrigerator. You have to talk over this dishwasher. And yes there was a big price difference between it and Whirlpools next loudest rated washer.Whirlpools customer service says they will not replace or repair based on sound ever, only for functional failure. Bottom line, dont pay any attention to Whirlpool sound ratings. They dont stand by them and do not consider gross overages a defect. Fortunately the retailer (Lowes) does stand by what they sell and will trade for any other machine by any other manufacturer. We have only good things to say about Lowes in this process. This machine arrived Wednesday, and we pick a replacement Sunday. It will not be a Whirlpool. I will never buy a Whirlpool anything again. We said it will do X but we dont care if a brand new one wont is no way to do business.

I purchased Whirlpool Refrigerator model WRF989SDAM02 in June of 2014. I began having problems with the ice forming into a solid block shortly after having the refrigerator installed. I called for service several times over the next year trying to rectify the problem. Once the warranty had expired I continued upon the advice of Whirlpool Customer Service to schedule their certified Technicians to work on the problem. A year and a half and several hundred dollars later I am still unable to get ice cubes when desired.Ultimately I was advised that I would need to use the ice maker once a day to keep it from forming into a block. When this didnt solve the problem I again contacted Whirlpool, had another of their recommended service technician come and give his advice. I was told that the ice maker needs to be in constant use or it forms a block and this is a defect in the design of this unit. A Pro Tech Appliance Inc. Technician, an authorized Whirlpool technical representative, said the only way to have usage of ice would be if I made sure to dispense ice a minimum of 8-10 times a day. This is completely impractical and just plain ridiculous. I contacted Whirlpool again. They refuse to acknowledge this is a defect in the design of this model. I have replaced all parts that can be replaced, had the unit resealed and have paid for multiple service call. Whirlpool will provide no remedy for this problem. Now that the unit is out of warranty they have refused to provide a resolution even though its issue began while still covered under the year warranty. I hope the CEO posts this on a giant screen in front of all their employees. The first thing I did after moving into our new home is brag about the American made Whirlpool appliances. Being from the Midwest I take pride in made in the USA product and go out of my way to support homegrown companies. I know that a number of the components in my fridge include the fan that failed after 11 month were most likely sourced and manufactured in China... but that no excuse!! Whirlpool needs to do a better job of QC. You need to be passionate and rigorous with your testing. Dont reduce cost at the cost of your customer base. It is amazing were to the point where we can no longer compete with China in quality.Second is customer service, if you know you cant compete in quality you need to be able to make up for that with customer support. I called Whirlpool and scheduled an appointment the day the fridge quit working. I was upset that it would take three days to have a working fridge but I was understanding. Lucky for me I had an understanding neighbor too. Anyways, when the day came for my scheduled warranty repair I was told that Whirlpool was mistaken and that I wouldnt be able to get it serviced for another week! This is just unacceptable.Right away I called the Whirlpool customer service representative and manager to express my frustration with this error. They were polite and both agreed with my frustration. It also sounded as if they also didnt understand why their own company was doing such a poor job addressing repair issues. They made it sound like this was a common problem of people getting overbook at repair service providers. Again another fumble. Bottom line, due to my position, I dont really have a choice but to wait another week for a repair. Take note: Every time you lose a customer like me this you lose 10! I will now go out of my way to tell people about my negative experience rather than my positive. So disappointed.

I have owned a Whirlpool Gold Series Refrigerator for one year and 9 months. During that time I have had 7 repair issues. Each of the past ones took at least two weeks to repair. This past repair has to be redone because the new parts are also bad. The part is now on factory backorder. It will be at least two months for this to be repaired. Whirlpool says its too bad, we just have to deal with being without a working refrigerator for months. Do not buy this product!!! The warranty only means that you are forced to wait months for repairs. They will not replace, refund, or even extend the warranty for all this downtime. You have no recourse with the company.

Whirpool WFW9550WW-00 Front Load Washer - Washer was purchased 08/09/12. No problems until 07/12/15 when washer stopped working mid-cycle. Motor control board needs to be replaced, actuator needs to be replaced. $500+ Our local appliance store suggested we call the Whirlpool customer relations number and ask for the parts to be sent free of charge. We would pay labor. They gave us the model number, serial number, the diagnostic info. Long story short, customer service told me she didnt know why I was told to contact them. They can not predict the life of a machine. Less than 3 years for this machine. 22 years for my old Kenmore. Our old Kenmore never had a problem, but we thought that we should replace it in 2012 in case something happened with old machine. WISH WE KEPT THE 22 YEAR OLD KENMORE.

I purchased 3 appliances (microwave, stove, and dishwasher) on 10/22/10 when they were on sale at Sears for my soon to be remodeled kitchen. I did not have them delivered until 11/15/10 until contractor was getting ready for them. They still were not installed immediately. On 11/17/11, in the evening, the microwave stopped working. I called Whirlpool on 11/18/11 for service. Whirlpool will not honor the 1-year warranty since technically I bought them in October 2010 but did not even have them installed in my home for use until the end of November or beginning of December 2010. Common sense tells me the company should honor the warranty. Are products being made today to last less than a year before they go bad? To pay for a service call and parts, I can buy a new microwave (but you can bet it wont be Whirlpool).

My Whirlpool Cabrio has been a real workhorse of a machine. It has been able to take large loads and small loads and get them equally clean and fresh. This was a more expensive model but it was worth the purchase price as I have used the various features provided. I also have appreciated that if you leave clothes on the washer overnight they are still fresh in the morning.

Purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher less than 2 years ago, began noticing a mildew buildup inside. Cleaned it, and bought dishwasher cleaner products, but the problem continued. Realized the dishwasher heater was not working. The dishwasher was staying wet, therefore causing mold. Called appliance repair, and spent 3/4 of the price of the 2 year old dishwasher to repair it. The control box malfunctioned. I was told by the repairman that that was unusual. At the suggestion of the repairman called Whirlpool. I was told since it was beyond the 1 year warranty they will comp us nothing. As a consumer I have no other recourse but to warn others, and to never buy a Whirlpool product again!

Horrible Customer Experience. After having my Whirlpool side by side with bottom freezer for 5 months it quit cooling (both freezer and refrig portions). This happened on a Saturday evening and Whirlpool was closed until Monday (no emergency service shown on their website for my area). Whirlpool contacted their service agent and they could not come out until Wednesday. Service tech said compressor was bad and had to order new one. Compressor arrived the next day however they could not come back until the following Monday to install. By this time I was without a refrigerator for 9 days. Techs installed new compressor and by Tuesday it quit cooling again! Tech came out the next day and said he thought the problem was the compressor and now says its the evaporator. I had to wait until the next week before they would come and install the new evap. By that time I will be without a refrig/freezer for 16 days. I contacted Whirlpool customer service and talked to several different people and all they would offer me is $50. I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again!

I just want to say that this washer is indeed a colossal waste of money. I bought an HE machine thinking Id be environmentally responsible, but the amount of times I have to re-rinse clothes negates that. Whats worse is that clothes come out dirtier than when they go in. Thats right--just put a brand new set of sheets in the washer and when they came out, there were dissolved detergent marks and gray, linty patches all over them (this using warm water and a soft gel detergent)--resembling dirt you might get from hanging clothes on a mildew clothes line. I cant tell you how many times I need to re-run the drain and spin cycle. This wastes time, water and quality of life. Id try to re-sell it on Craigslist but wouldnt want to subject anyone else to it--not fair even at $100!Updated on 02/23/2015I wrote a review in September 2014 on the Whirlpool cabrio model WTW5600XWO. To update the community on my recent customer service experience with Whirlpool: I wrote them a letter a few weeks ago stating that I dont expect them to follow up but wanted to let them know I would be buying Bosh products from now on and reiterating my anger at needing to miracle brush any dark piece of clothing after it goes through the cabrio. My letter specifically said I did not expect customer resolution but wanted to express what a rotten product they produced and marketed. They called back leaving a message to the effect: We apologize want to help you but need to speak in person. Please call [toll free number] and have your make and serial numbers available. I called back, and after waiting on hold for 10 mins., the rep took my model and serial numbers, said, Oh I see your letter. Please give me a moment to review it. Then I was told there was nothing she could do. I do apologize for your frustration. I couldnt BELIEVE they would bother contacting me only to make me go through that charade-- They are PATHETIC! I say boycott the company! Well, I certainly will.

When my wife and I were planning our retirement, we made a to-do list before we officially stopped working. We are loyal Whirlpool users and over the next 3 years we purchased 4 major Whirlpool appliances in preparation of having 8-12 years of problem-free time as we go from a two-income working family to two people on fixed incomes. I retired in December of 2011 and unfortunately this did not pan out on 2 of the 4 appliances. The washing machine, in late February 2012, blew a transmission 23 months after purchase and 11 months after the warranty expired. Discussions with Whirlpool by phone were unsuccessful in getting the repair covered.Ultimately, this repair cost us $265.00. In late April, 9 months after the warranty expired, the refrigerator iced up and had to be manually defrosted, despite being equipped with ADS. My family and I did the defrosting because it was a weekend and tech support was not available. On Monday, the refrigerator was functioning, so I was told to run it and see what happens and call the tech if it happens again. I had done research online and found many folks were having trouble with this refrigerator model and the main problem was the control board”, a board that is used in many Whirlpool refrigerators. I ordered one after the initial problem and waited for it to ice up again. On Sunday, May 20, it repeated the same symptoms displayed and I put the board in myself and it solved the problem. This computer board cost me $95.81.I contacted Whirlpool about the two premature, post-warranty expiration issues in hopes of getting some reimbursement for the repairs. The Whirlpool rep told me that because there had not been a recall on either appliance, they could not reimburse me. They instead offered me a 6-month extension on the dishwasher I bought last July. I have been on several complaint websites and have seen the refrigerator control board repeatedly mentioned - all within the approximate 2-year timeline as my control board failed. My refrigerator was a GB9FHDXWQ01 model, but the control board is used in many of their refrigerators. If this has happened to you, please contact me at ** and, hopefully, together we can get enough data to get a recall and get proper treatment from Whirlpool. Please include your refrigerator’s model number so I can verify the board is the one in question. Thanks.

We had purchased a Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer and Dryer in 2007. Since that time we have had several repairs on the dryer, resulting in us having to purchase an entire new unit in 2011 (4 years old), along with mold that has accumulated in the washing machine on the tub and rubber seal that cannot be removed after several attempts utilizing several products that were recommended. The end result is our laundry that has been washed - comes out with a musty odor. Not happy at all with the top of the line, best possible machine to produce clean laundry as was sold to us! This has been a nightmare, and a totally dysfunctional appliance that should have lasted longer than 5 years!

Paid between $800.00 and $1,000 (cant recall exactly) three years ago and the oven locked recently while cooking a pizza. Couldnt get the lock to disengage and the oven turned on self-clean mode without me doing anything. The pizza burned crispy before I finally got the door open. The failure code for the control panel showed up. I didnt buy the extended warranty because we only needed it to last 5 - 6 years until we do a full kitchen remodel and the really inexpensive (~ $250) oven that was installed by the previous owners to sell the house lasted six years with no trouble. Now we have to pay $391.00 to repair what I consider a brand new oven. In doing some research it looks like the control panel fail is common and is associated with using the self clean mode which we only used once. Great oven if you only need one for a few years and are willing to pay the price.

My 3 year old Whirlpool dishwasher (model GU3200XTXY3), broke down for the third time. Under extended warranty with my insurance company, a repair tech was sent out to diagnose the problem. He quickly found that the heater had been continuously running (not just during drying), which caused the machine to quit working. He also found that all the wiring inside the dishwasher was spliced together, those two things=fire hazard! Because the heater was always running, it was super heating all the water used to clean the dishes. The vent to release the steam is located on the top of the door (right under counter edge). The dishwasher was producing hotter and more steam which slowly ate away at the particle board under the cabinets. No, we dont have the most expensive countertops, but Whirlpool should be held responsible for producing a faulty product with a faulty design. I have contacted Whirlpool and they claim to have mailed a claim form 3 weeks ago. I have not received it. Posted on social media about it, and was told I must only speak with the person who sent me the form. I would love to, but since I havent actually received any contact from anyone (other than a fb post) I dont know who to contact, at what number, or email!

I had purchased a hot water heater on Saturday and installed it myself. I filled the tank and waited about twenty minutes before turning the power on. I waited a couple of hours before testing the water temperature and it was cold. I checked the temperature setting and it was set at one twenty five, I went to Lowes and informed the service person and was told there was nothing they could do about it, I had to call the number on the tank for Whirlpool. I called the number and was told they could come out to check it but we would be responsible for the labor charges. I didnt understand why because it was under warranty and we had also purchased the extended warranty. I informed my wife so she could deal with Whirlpool because I was going to work. My wife called a number of times and was getting transferred from one person to another and getting no help at all. She was told by one person that it was maybe a problem with the wiring in our home or maybe the plumbing. One person told her that it was not their problem. We had to finally pay an electrician to come out to look at it and had to pay him to replace a heating element. The cost of the electrician and the part came to an extra two seventy five dollars. The only real help that we received was from Lowes managers that were willing to take the water heater back if we could get an authorization number to return the water which Whirlpool claimed they did not have any type of a number. Our 400 dollar water heater turned into an almost 700 dollar water heater. We had also purchased a refrigerator from Lowes that was the Whirlpool brand that quit working after about four months and we had to pay to have it fixed. Needless to say, we will never again purchase any Whirlpool products or recommend them to anyone. The service was very very poor and we are not happy with Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater several years back with every bit of the Bells & Whistles that Lowes could bestow on it paid for and documented on the tank; Limited Lifetime Warranty and Lowes Professional Installation. It failed after several years with multiple problems. First, the bottom heating unit failed at the same time, noticing a leak from the top heating units external cover where a supporting screw had popped out, leaking down to the floor. Not only was the Whirlpool 800 number a scham of silence, with no estimated wait time and after approximately 20 minutes, a rep picks up as I could hear their legal department on an alternated line instructing and listening in, then dropping off when those crooks felt I had been placated enough to go onto to the next sucker. I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer in May of 2009. I do laundry for only 3 adults, so I never run more than 3-4 loads a week. It constantly is off-balance when spinning and requires positioning the load again several times before it will continue its cycle. Now 5 to 8 minutes into it filling with water, it stops filling and beeps, and code F shows up on the screen. Also, during the spin cycles, it is very loud and fast. It sounds like it is about to take off anytime. I called customer service to no avail. They just wanted me to schedule a repairman to come out and fix it at my expense. Now, I know why they only give a one-year warranty - they know it will last one year but not much longer. Im from a generation of people that is used to appliances lasting 10 - 14 years and the company stood behind their products and didnt ask you to buy an expensive extended warranty for the 2nd year and so on. If inferior products were not manufactured, there would be no need for an extended warranty. Anyway, Im not going to put any money (I was quoted a $129 charge by Whirlpools service department just for the diagnosis of the problem which didnt include the labor or parts costs.) into a washer that will probably continue to have problems and become a money pit. Consequently, I will never buy nor recommend anyone buy Whirlpool appliances. It would get quite expensive buying a new washer every 3 years or buying the extended warranty plan. The matching dryer had no major problems, but a couple of years ago, I had to have the door changed from opening from right to left to opening from left to right because the door catch broke on the right side. Hopefully, nothing else will go wrong with it in the near future.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Home Depot in Nov, 2013. Model is WRF560SEYWOO with water in the door and bottom freezer with ice compartment. This is a very small refrigerator for my very small space. I swear these companies program their appliances to break down exactly 1 month after the warranty is up. Thats what happened to me. Dec 2014 this horrible loud humming noise started. You could hear it out on the sidewalk! Then the door with the water just detached from the bottom and screws and plastic pieces fell out all over the floor. The day the repairman came he noticed all the rubber lining in the doors was detaching and huge chunks were falling off of it. He called to get replacement parts for everything and whatyaknow, all parts for this unit have been discontinued! This is what we did to cope with all these defects. The noise was caused by ice building up around the exhaust fan because the unit had stopped defrosting that area, so every 3 days I have to get out my hairdryer and melt the ice at the back of the unit. Next we MacGyvered the door so that it is resting on the freezer door. Next, he brought in some tape and taped all the pieces of rubber falling off my doors!! This frigging frig cost me $1,653.00!! I AM FURIOUS. Why isnt Con. AFFAIRS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?!

I have a double door refrigerator with a bottom freezer. It is slightly over 2 years old and has been in use for only 7 months of that time. We just got off the phone with Whirlpool service. They will cover the cost of the control panel and defrost control. The other one I paid to replace was only one month old and it failed again. In the time between that I had to have an Icing kit put in as the Ice maker was causing ice to form inside the back wall of the refrigerator. My first call to Whirlpool was very unsatisfactory. I ended up paying for the part and the service call. The second call was about the ice-maker and they were aware of the problem and sent me a repair kit for the problem. I still had to pay for repair service. So far I have paid $561.62 for their defective parts and service calls. This time my wife called (while I was taking my frozen foods to my neighbors freezer for the second time) and went through 3 people before being told the part was still under warranty and they will send a new one. When we pushed for proper service we got it. We should never have had to go through all this. We also lost over $300.00 of frozen foods. Never buy a Whirlpool refrigerator!!!

I had a 6 year warranty on the new Water heater and about only 4 years into it the tank began leaking. Whirlpool replaced it but of course I was responsible for Parts and labor to replace it. The replacement only lasted just over only 2 years and just outside the total of 6 years from original purchase date on the first. Whirlpool refused to discuss it since it was a few months out of warranty. If someone else has purchased this heater it would have failed at 2 years and they would have had to warranty it anyway. I will never own another Whirlpool appliance because of their substandard products and warranty. Whatever you do, dont ever buy a Whirlpool French door refrigerator. For the last 5 months this $2,200 error in our judgement has not worked. We purchased it late last September and were so excited to enjoy this sleek machine. Wrong. In November a controller broke and the refrigerator portion froze over freezing everything and blowing apart the deli drawer. Then the ice maker was not working, it topped out at about 10 cubes a day. After that it acquired the lovely habit of shutting off every several minutes. 24 hours a day. Every time it would turn back on it would chime. 24 hours a day. And neither the refrigerator nor freezer portion would maintain temperature. Whirlpool keeps sending people out, turning us into their Guinea Pig while they try to come up with a solution. The chiming has finally stopped but we still dont have an ice maker and the light is intermittent. Another repair man is due tomorrow. So unless you have countless hours to spend waiting for and dealing with repairmen, making phone calls and enjoying throwing away spoiled food, dont waste your money with this company.

Horrendous product! Purchased December 3, 2014 – had service technician from Whirlpool check the unit for excessive noise 3 months later. Technician said it’s the way it is designed – ice maker in door, air has to be forced up from freezer so it makes a lot of noise! Now, 15 months later, the refrigerator has totally quit. We are waiting for technician from Whirlpool. Obviously, no extended warranty so Whirlpool said they would extend the warranty and cover this visit for $357! How nice of them since they are sure the parts will exceed that amount!!! What a piece of trash – guess the refrigerator is only meant to work about a year! NO MORE WHIRLPOOL! I am thinking about standing outside of Home Depot to warn any customers who are looking for a refrigerator not to buy Whirlpool!Updated 3/23/2016 - To add to our previous review, the service company, AIG finally after 3 days has approved the parts required to fix our with less refrigerator (15 months old.) It will take 8-10 business days for the parts to appear! We have no refrigerator for at least two weeks! Great service from Home Depot and AIG!

I purchased Whirlpool gas range with AquaLift Self Cleaning Tech exactly a year ago. DOES NOT WORK!!! The only Self that cleans will be you on your hands and knees. Still dont know what to use. Manual says do not use oven cleaner or abrasive or you void the warranty. Ok Whirlpool any suggestions? Soap and mild detergent not cutting it. You would think with all the customers complaining about this feature the bright engineers that designed this would come up with a solution.

We paid extra for a 10 year warranty on purchase from Airport Appliances. On delivery I commented that the plastic material used throughout the fridge was of very flimsy material and wobbly. In the first week the crisper drawer joint cracked to our amazement and they had to send another one from Whirlpool. In the 14th month after the Whirlpool warranty had expired, we found the pantry drawer lid/cover shattered by the door which shut on it because of no reasonable leeway provided in its design. On calling the special warranty people they said they only covered the compressor and parts and nothing else. Called Whirlpool who quoted $85.00 for the lid, plus S&H and taxes. Now we have an eyesore every time we open the fridge when we see the taped up cracked three foot pantry drawer lid. We badly regret giving away a 25 year old perfectly working Whirlpool Workhorse Fridge and buy this newer model which we will have to live with for a quarter of a century. I am 75 years old now. Never a Whirlpool again!

We recently bought a home and our dishwasher came with the home. We saw our basement leaking and got 2 plumbers come over and check the pipes out, paying almost $600, only to realize that the leak was actually from the broken plastic in our dishwasher, and not any pipe. When we called the Customer Service to get it replaced as it comes with a 20 year warranty on the plastic body, they said they would replace the part, but I would have to pay $81 for the first 15 min & $19 every additional 15 min. for labor, which means I would end up paying at least close to $400 or more, depending on how long the technician takes to replace the fiber body. Neither their policy nor warranty make any sense to me. Its frustrating to see that in spite of being covered, I would be the one paying money out of my pocket.

Had washers model # WTW8500DCO repaired after being install for 14 days. Have had washers repaired every 90 plus days because of constant electrical and mechanical failures. Would not ever buying another whirlpool appliance to my worst enemy. Customer service is a total failure. If you ask a question after talking with you for 5-8 minutes and they dont have an answer they start saying HELLO, HELLO? I have to hang up. I cant hear you. Just a really sad business. Stay away!

Im on Whirlpool Cabrio washer top number 4. Well over $300.00 each, and washer doesnt work with a broken top. I sent a letter to Whirlpool telling them, NEVER again Whirlpool and my reason is the 4th top in 6 years. I received a form letter back... apologizing for a delay in response and, we hope you enjoy the rest of your day, lol. They dont get my level of dissatisfaction or better just dont care. Never again Whirlpool. If you search Cabrio Washer tops you can see thousands of dissatisfied customers... and still Whirlpool has the arrogance to say, occasionally failures do occur, but we can not explain. Really is your engineering that bad? A high school kid could figure out that the spring is to strong for the plastic housing and over time the plastic cracks. Really Whirlpool? A multi billion dollar company? Never again Whirlpool.
