My wife and I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer / Dryer set approximately three years ago and have had nothing but problem after problem with these units. Weve had multiple service calls, multiple parts replaced, and after dumping hundreds of dollars into repairs and service calls (even called Whirlpool and asked for some help with parts cost but was given the cold shoulder and was told, We cant help you), we are dumping these machines where they belong - scrap heap. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and will tell anyone who will listen what garbage Whirlpool manufacturers are and absolutely pathetic excuse for customer service and the poorest of quality product. Whirlpool will never be in my familys home again and will never see another cent of my monies.

Ordered water filters for refrigerator. They did not arrive. Tracking # came back not found. Waited on phone for an hour. Talked to representative. She could not help me. Transferred me to another department. Been holding for an hour. Still no help. If this is what Whirlpool calls good service, they are completely lacking. I will not order another Whirlpool product.

We purchased a Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in 2011. Everything was fine up until June 2015. We got the dreaded 4 flashes. We called for service to come out, that costed us around $300. December 23rd of 15 it goes out again. We called Whirlpool instead of a service company and the part was under warranty. We paid for overnight shipping but because of the holiday it was not guaranteed. We told them we are fine with Sat. delivery. In the meantime we had to cancel a holiday party scheduled at our house the 24th. We waited around all day Sat. for the part to show and nothing. We called Whirlpool to get the tracking number and we find out that the other service rep didnt mark our package for Sat. delivery. I am very close to just buying a new heater. I am trying to tell everyone I can about how horrible Whirlpool is. I feel sorry for any suckers that buy based on the name and dont do their research.

I bought the Ikea dishwasher (model IUD8500BX1) in 2014. Because it’s from Ikea, it has 5 year warranty. I was using it daily, as I have a family of 5 and we cook and eat at home most days. I have called Whirlpool at least 4 times according to the repairman that was here today. Ive already had to replace the pump because it was holding up water. After which, mold started occurring in the washer. The technician who came out found 4 fault codes on the machine. He was prepared to replace sensors and the circuit board for the heater and the pump, since it likely had mold. But Whirlpool says the parts are functional therefore the replacement parts won’t fix it. He is not allowed to replace anything.Considering the mold is an after effect of the failure to drain, you would think they would fix the mold as well. A replacement dishwasher would be nice, but at least replacement of the internal plastic parts that I cant clean. Instead, they tell me to bleach wash it and run a cycle with bleach. Guess what, Ive already done that. And according to the technician hes never seen a dishwasher have this much mold when it’s used as often as I use it. If you are buying this product thinking they will stand by their product, think again.

Purchased a new home in Florida. Builder used Whirlpool appliances. For a year opening the refrigerator door has caused breakers to trip off. No matter what builder and Whirlpool do, breakers keep tripping. Cannot sell house with this issue. If someone was counting on electricity for a medical device they could die when refrigerator causes power to go out. Unfortunately, it looks like legal action is the only thing that will save our investment in the house.

The Cabrio is the absolute worst washer that Ive ever owned! No matter what combination of setting I use, my clothes come out dingy, all twisted and wrinkled, and full of lint and detergent residue (I use liquid detergent made specifically for HE washers). Every setting runs for over an hour. So much for high efficiency! What it saves on water it more than wastes on electricity!! More often than not, the entire load becomes enveloped in one of the items to create one huge ball. A t-shirt stretched to encompass the remaining clothes into a perfect sphere! When that happens, some of the laundry in the middle of the big ball is barely damp. The dryer is just as bad, even the towels come out wrinkled. How is that possible? And again, it takes over an hour to dry a load.Whirlpool customer service is awful. When I called to complain, the agent began schooling me on how to wash clothes. Im 66 years old, Ive washed a few clothes in my lifetime and have always prided myself in my white whites and bright colors. I have a new house and the builder provided all the appliances. Based on my past negative experience with Whirlpool products and their customer service, I would not have purchased Whirlpool.

We have never had problems with our old Kenmore appliances. Since we have had the Whirlpool complete set we have had problems with both the Refrigerator and now the Stove. The fridge had already been re-engineered by the time the repair man got here but the fix didnt work. We had a 50 degree refrigerator for over a month. Now the stove wont keep a constant temperature so we wait for the service man once again. They look beautiful but they are the worst we have owned over our 36 years. They obviously have engineering issues looking at all the other reviews. I dont see us purchasing another Whirlpool appliance in the future.

Long story short is that my dishwasher was 7 months old and two parts went out on it. 4 months (and almost 3 hours total on the phone) later it still does not work. Whirlpool only has one repair person in our area and that person is a small business owner who works alone and is now in his 2nd week of vacation leaving no one else in his shop to do repair while he is out. I do not know if my part is ordered nor do I have a repair date! Never will I ever again purchase a $900.00 dishwasher or any appliance from Whirlpool!

Cabrio he washer wtw6400sw2 - I bought this washer about 6 years ago at the time we paid around $900. Now my bearings went bad and the repair person told me it would cost around $300 to $400 to replace the bearings and seal and shaft but that I should call Whirlpool and see if they could replace the part or give me some discount cause it is becoming an issue with all the Cabrio washers. So I called and spoke with a so called manager - as far as I know it could of been a cleaning person there. She told me that she could not do nothing about the issue. So if a lawyer would be nice to help me and the rest of the world that are having all these issues to file a suit against Whirlpool Corp.

Bought this refrigerator in June 2018. Had issues with freezer section and service technician came July 19. Issue was resolved but only temporarily. Had another technician come in Oct 3 and was told he had to order a new freezer drawer which should take 3 days. Now being told the drawer won’t arrive until Nov 15. You call that service? It would have taken less time to get a new refrigerator. I would never recommend buying Whirlpool products to anyone. What’s the point in buying a product that you can’t get proper service on.

We bought our house in December 2010 and the water heater (fg1f4034t3NOV) just started to give me fits. I had the same pilot light problems everyone else encountered. The person at the 877-251-1679 number gave me a good tip and that may have fixed the problem in the short-term. They told me theres a screen for venting on the bottom of the unit and to use a bottle brush after turning off the unit to clean the screen. I did this yesterday and the pilot light has stayed lit. I called the toll-free number and was told the water heater was out of warranty, but they could send me the part to fix the heater at half-price. I ordered it and they waived ground shipping. I hope to have the situation fixed soon. I’m very pleased with the level of service.

Four years old and only used by a 2 family home. No kids overloading it. Probably wash 3 loads a week on average. After 4 years, it has started the grease flying out of the bottom and now leaking water. My appliance repair man told me to scrap it and buy a new one. The repair and the parts are too expensive and in the end it is still junk. I realize things wont last 30 years like they used to but can I get 7 years out of a major appliance?

We bought the Cabrio washer and dryer on June 2008, and it wasnt very long after that, that we had to have a repair done. Then, it started twisting the clothes and the sheets into a big knot. Two king size sheets and 2 pillow cases got so twisted that they are no bigger than a watermelon, and believe me, they are very hard to untangle when they are soaking wet. The machine in the drying cycle sounds like a commercial jet taking off. We can hardly talk above the roar of that thing. I hate it with a passion. We just remodeled our kitchen and bought a Whirlpool kitchen suite in May of 2016. The refrigerator is absolutely terrible. I have had a repairman come out and fix the same repair/problem 5 times, a sheet of ice forms beneath the vegetable drawer (We have only owned the refrigerator for 5 months). Each time the repair person has come out it costs me a day of work due to having to wait all day for the repair service that Whirlpool hires out, well be there between 9am and 4pm. This morning I decided to check to see if the sheet of ice is forming again, it is. So I call Whirlpool again.Again, I call Whirlpool and ask if I can just get a new unit; 5 repairs in 5 months on a brand new refrigerator. The reply I get from Whirlpool is always well send someone out to fix it. The unit has to be deemed irreparable or a part has to be replaced multiple times. No parts are being replaced... no one knows how to fix it. I dont understand why a large company like Whirlpool would want people to write bad reviews for their products and customer service. Im extremely irritated with how I have been treated. I just want a refrigerator that works!! DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR!!

Purchased the French door bottom freezer 29 cubic ft. refrigerator on Dec. 22, 2012. Ice maker broke Dec. 2, 2013 and it has been downhill since. Replaced it and it broke again on Jan 2, 2014. Been waiting ever since for replacement parts. In the meantime, the freezer went out. Compressor went out. Freezer is as cold as refrigerator at 40 degrees. Lost food out freezer and food molds in refrigerator after a few days. Repairman came to investigate and determined the refrigerator is a lemon and needs to be replaced. Thankfully for the 5-yr extended warranty, it will be replaced, but it has certainly been a headache. Everything shiny isnt gold...

I finally put in a call to World Headquarters but had to leave message and nobody has returned call. I finally called a whirlpool serviceman and he told me the Aqua lift is not a true self cleaning oven. The temperatures dont get hot enough. It was meant to just loosen the dirt on the bottom and then you have to scrub. The button you press to start the process on the stove states SELF CLEANING. Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer a few years back... Started getting F1 error message and just proceeded thru it like most did initially, but now has become pain in the rear just to do one load of laundry as we get the error 2-3 times when we start each load - then on every load w/ 21 minutes left on the cycle. From the looks of things online this is a chronic problem and should be fixed by manufacturer. I called Whirlpool customer service and first person I talked with said they understand it is an issue but no longer are any recalls or reworks on that machine. I asked to speak w/ supervisor and sat on hold until I got one. Was then informed they do know it was a problem but was not something they could do anything about other than schedule a service company to come take a look. I specifically asked if there was at one time a recall or if they were fixing this issue for a while. She said Yes, they took care of some of their customers but are no longer doing that for this model. So basically because I didnt call in at the right time I need to fix my machine myself. I said it will be the last Whirlpool or Whirlpool associated appliance I ever purchase if this is the kind of customer service I can expect... The supervisor just said she was sorry to hear that and to have a nice day. Hopefully enough people read these reviews as I wish I would have before purchasing my Cabrio and dont buy Whirlpool.

We have had the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer for 4 years now. Let me start off by saying the first 6 months was wonderful. Then after that, the machines were breaking down every time we turned around at the worst times. With 2 adults and 4 children, you see my point. We have had a repairman at our house to fix these machines 6 times and now, we are getting a code on our washer that is F1. Looking up codes online shows to be the computer system of the machine and a $400-$600 repair, might I add. Please save your money and buy a better and more dependable set than Whirlpool. I have the model FG1H5040T3NOV water heater and had found this message board. I called the number posted by Chris with American Water Heater and provided them with my serial number. They shipped me the replacement assembly next day and after about an hour, I had it installed and working again. Im not too happy with the fact that it failed, but it does appear they have their act together in getting the replacement parts distributed.Based on the discussion with the person on the phone, my only real gripe is this: the cause of the component failure was potentially caused by a dirty-flame trap that supposedly needs to be cleaned regularly. Since the trap is underneath the water heater and is in no way really accessible, relying on people to see the fine print in the manual (which hardly anyone reads) isnt sufficient. At an absolute minimum, a very clear and apparent sticker should be included on all water heaters indicating this needs to be cleaned and a clear description of how to clean it properly to prevent this sort of unnecessary headache in the future.

When I bought this stove, I already had a glass top (Sears) which was satisfactory but I changed to get a convection oven, never had a problem cleaning the glass top. To me, Whirlpool was, and I emphasize WAS, a reputable manufacturer and the stove offered everything I needed. Not so, the glass top is a nightmare to clean; no amount of elbow grease works. It is like cooking on a mirror. Talked to everyone I contacted but, it seems, I am the faulty element in this problem: I DONT KNOW HOW TO CLEAN!!! YOU NEED A FIRST OF SOMETHING FROM TIME TO TIME AND THIS WAS A FIRST FOR ME.They told me the only solution they could offer was to buy their own cleaner. Why do they need to market their own cleaner? I did not buy a museum piece that needed to be treated with special care, I bought a stove to cook on. I want as many people as possible to know about that uncleanable glass top. Every time I need to cook, I cringe at the amount of time and effort I will have to spend to get it clean. I am not a novice, I have been doing housework for the past 60 years. Beware, it is a most frustrating situation to having paid top dollars and to be stuck with a product that brings such frustrations. By the way, it was bought at The Brick in Canada. They were not helpful either.

Well, after calling about 5 times and sitting on hold over 30 minutes each time, I gave up and decided I would just deal with having to defrost it every 2 weeks.Fast forward to September 2016. I wake up to $300 in food at 67 degrees in the fridge. Mind you, Im a caterer and have a wedding to cater in a few days. So here I sit on hold with Whirlpool. The man answered the phone after 40 minutes on hold. Then proceeds to tell me there are no technicians in my area and someone would get back to me in 24-48 business hours. Unacceptable, I say. I have now been on hold for another hour while he sees what he can do. Biggest load of crap ever. He didnt bother apologizing for the loss of food, and hasnt checked in with me once. In 2009 I bought 2 (yes 2) machines (one was for our daughter). I also took out 5 year warranties on both (good job I did). Within the first month on our machine the paddles flew off and after a bit of a debate with the insurers we had another machine (same model). Within a short period from date of purchase both machines had a number of faults - circuit boards, weights that came loose! and bearings going. There are other bits but too extensive to list. To be fair to the insurers they were no trouble (it really is the inconvenience of being without a washer and having to schedule time to get it sorted out). I will never ever buy a Whirlpool as all of these (3 in total) have been a nightmare and ours is sounding noisy again (it only had a new drum 12 months ago for bearings - yes you need a new drum for that £200 in all!!) so I am really glad that we have the insurance. When that runs out and the machine is dead (whichever comes first) I think we will will be buying either a Beko or a Samsung that are getting really high ratings. Anyone reading this might wonder why did we buy these in the first place. Well a colleague of mine at work had one and said it was fantastic (she had children so used hers a lot) hence me buying them (and they were not cheap by any means, so thought we were getting a cracking pair of machines....cracking, yes they might as well be as a chocolate fireguard has more reliability...WARNING DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE - IT COULD DAMAGE YOUR SANITY! AND FAITH IN HUMAN BEINGS TOO!!!!!

As with other posts here, the rear bearing is going out of Whirlpool Duet front loading washer. I purchased mine in late 2008. Moderate use always according to recommendations. I called Whirlpool and same story--no recall and it would be expensive to have it repaired. I cant see putting $400 to $500 in parts even if I repair it myself. I cant believe that with such a common problem, Whirlpool wouldnt either honor a repair or offer a reasonable bearing package to fix. It requires the entire back, half of a new drum. Poor design, but whats worse is no effort by Whirlpool to rectify the situation.

I didnt take the insurance out and I regret that move.

Whirlpool Du1100xtpb3 dishwasher: The spring on the latch keeps coming off (3 times in two months). The service repair man charged me for replacing the latch when all that was wrong with it was the spring. That being said, now we are fixing it ourselves. For your information, there is a paper in the bottom of the dishwasher that tells you what is wrong by how the lights are flashing. So each time we replace the spring, we have to reprogram it by pushing a sequence of buttons. Still, I cant figure why the spring wont stay on. Help me if you can.

Water filtration unit was leaking only when someone got water. It pooled into the bottom of fridge and ran out under the fridge and because of the slope of the floor was running back towards the wall. We didnt notice until our laminate wood flooring was starting to swell up. It was probably leaking since the day we bought fridge brand new, but took us 4 months to notice. Whirlpool said they will not fix our flooring, only the fridge. We had to make a homeowners claim which we did. When the contractor moved the fridge back after replacing all flooring it starting leaking from the ice maker unit. Only when the ice tray filled it would gush out water. Our flooring is now ruined a 2nd time and Whirlpool will not fix the floor. Repairman said that Whirlpool used rigid parts in the water and ice maker units and tons of people are having the same problem. Since there is no flexibility in these parts they break when the fridge is moved. Whirlpool sucks and I am fighting with them and Lowes to get this fridge replaced with a non Whirlpool appliance. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer model WTW6400SW2, serial CU2372784 type 480: I have had this set for about 4 years now. First, I had to replace the motherboard. And now today, I found out that the center post seal was leaking and caused a lot of damage. I was told that it would cost around $300 plus to get it fixed. I have seen on sites that this washer is a lot of trouble and the makers need to fix these problems. Also, the washer sounds like a jet running. We need the makers of Cabrio to step up and fix these problems or refund us the money that we have paid out for this thing. We, the people who have bought these machines, need a lawyer and to start filing lawsuits against these people.

I had a 6 year warranty on the new Water heater and about only 4 years into it the tank began leaking. Whirlpool replaced it but of course I was responsible for Parts and labor to replace it. The replacement only lasted just over only 2 years and just outside the total of 6 years from original purchase date on the first. Whirlpool refused to discuss it since it was a few months out of warranty. If someone else has purchased this heater it would have failed at 2 years and they would have had to warranty it anyway. I will never own another Whirlpool appliance because of their substandard products and warranty. I only wish I had reviewed the reviews of others and taken their experiences into consideration and not purchased Whirlpool. I am now out for another heater and reinstallation charges again.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7800XW is 13/14 months old (1 or 2 months out of standard warranty). We use it 3 to 4 times a week. The lid hinge developed a crack 2 or 3 months ago. Last week, it failed completely making the washer unusable. Investigations show that a new lid is around $250 plus tax and service call (approx. $500 complete). On contacting Customer Service, they continued to say monotonously out of warranty even though it is obvious to even a layman that this hinge/lid is not fit for the job and the manufacturing material has failed. They kept reeling off all sorts of protocols but would not send any of them as a copy. This is the worst service I have had from any company. The service is despicable and they should be ignored and banned from every consumer list. I appreciate that it is out of warranty, but the runaround I am getting seems to me that they expect their product to fail after the warranty expires and they are not surprised at all by catastrophic failures so soon.

This product deserves ZERO stars! I purchased a Cabrio washer - dryer in October, 2013. I have carefully followed the instructions for the washer. I am hugely distressed about the large amount of money I spent on a washer that is absolutely terrible, horrible, awful., no words can adequately express how bad this so-called washer is. The low-water washing has torn up all of my new towels in the matter of a couple of washes. It has completely ripped out the hems of the towels and pulled long ragged strings in the towel. And these were not cheap towels. I am mad at myself for not researching better before buying. I hope my complaint can save another consumer from the misery I am suffering because of this shameful product.

We bought our Duet washer in 2007 with a three-year warranty. In 2010, the washer started banging so we called it in for repair. It was determined that the bearing on the drum was bad, so the entire drum assembly was replaced because the poor design of integrating the bearing into the drum. Almost one year to the day, our washer started banging again. The washer is no longer under warranty. We were told the parts are around $400 plus and another $400 for labor. The repairman was from the store we bought the washer and he is a certified Whirlpool repairman. He related to us that this is a very common occurrence for Whirlpool washers because they are using cheap foreign made bearings. He services this problem on a weekly basis and Whirlpool will not do a recall because unless it is a safety hazard, it is not a concern to them if consumers have to pay out the nose for cheaply made parts. This repairman informed us that during training at a Whirlpool class, he learned that on the main board of the washers, they could put a 2 cent lamp that would indicate a bad board which would simplify diagnosis, expedite repair and reduce service time, but Whirlpool wont do it because it isnt cost effective. The repairman told us that we can call customer service until we are blue in the face, but Whirlpool wont give a ** because it is out of warranty. He sees this happen all the time with Whirlpool. My wife called Whirlpool Customer Service just to be told we are ** even though the cheap, crappy bearing that went bad was done under warranty, a year earlier.Well Whirlpool, I guess you lost another customer who will make sure that you lose a lot more customers. We are going to take our business elsewhere and we will make sure all our family, friends, neighbors and coworkers know how bad your customer service and poor attitude is toward consumers. If you cant back your products when you put cheap foreign garbage parts in your product, then you need to lose business and get out of the market.

Cons: Aqua Lift technology doesnt work AT ALL (manual cleaning required); stove top hard to clean; 2 front gas burners are super burners which is fine for boiling water, but too hot for regular cooking. Would be better to have one super burner in the middle or back but two up front is way too hot for regular cooking, even on lowest setting; oven cuts out while cooking -- unexplainable how this happens but you really have to watch the oven while cooking to make sure its still on. In 2008, I purchased the 40-gal. Whirlpool electric water heater to replace the original unit in my home that had lasted 14 years without issue until it died of old age. After about 2 1/5 years, it died and I was given authorization to return it to Lowes at my insistence. Now after another 2 1/5 years, this one has died. So far, I have replaced both elements, lost a days work, missed out on a date because I could not take a shower and now Im told I have to replace the electrical box on top which wont get here until Monday. Its Saturday and I havent been able to take a shower in my home for 5 days now.The first CSR (Crystal) I spoke with implied that since I had 2 consecutive failures, this was a site problem, not a product problem. Theres nothing special about my site, and my old unit made it 14 years with zero repairs. I would argue that since both of the units only lasted 2 1/5 years, that the product is substandard. I asked to speak to a manager but was told no because they were all busy (no doubt) and her demeanor was unapologetic and unsympathetic. The second CSR (Nick) I spoke with was very nice and at least sympathetic. That goes a long way in customer service, but I was still not allowed to speak with a manager.I am going to try and repair it one more time, but I have zero confidence in Whirlpool and would never buy another Whirlpool product of any sort again. If I get it working, and after all Ive read here I doubt that I will, I will only be using it for the time it takes to get a replacement of another brand. Now they want to charge me for a service call and parts to correct a problem that is obviously built into the unit. There should be a recall on this. I bought the Whirlpool WTW 5000DW1 washer and dryer to go with it. Within the first 2 weeks the plastic handle broke on the dryer. Ive been using the corner of the plastic handle ever since to open the dryer. The washer is the worst washer I have ever purchased in my life. The tub doesnt fill up over the clothes half the time. It is perfectly balanced on the floor but it always bounces around and you cannot open it to rearrange the clothes because they lock the lid. The only option is to try to hold it and wait for it to finish or start over by pressing the button for at least 3 seconds. I have had a few items get shredded by it and a lot of times the clothes dont get cleaned and rinsed properly. Even on 2 rinse option. Just the fact that it has a 2 rinse option is a big red flag. It is supposed to be a energy saver and water saver but that isnt true. If you have to wash and rinse the clothes twice because it has spots from the detergent still on the sheets, something just isnt right. Whirlpool shouldnt even put a product like this on the market. Anyways, had to replace it after a few years and decided to buy a Whirlpool under the assumption that if an Asko kind of sucks, being so expensive, it was not worth the money to spend big bucks on an expensive dishwasher. I could not have been more wrong! Bought a middle of the pack Whirlpool, I think we spend around $500. Complete junk. I had to use our Sears home warranty like 6 times. They replaced two times the computer board, all the sensors another couple of times, motor, you name it! Worst part is that all of the non essentials part that also broke off (wheels, and plastic pieces of the door) were not covered by Sears warranty so I had to end up using glue and all kind of contraptions to keep them together. Finally, when we decided to put our house in the market we replaced this junk with a Bosch. So far so good. Whirlpool actually never even washed properly, now with the Bosch we finally know what it means to have a dishwasher that really washes for real!

We just love the hidden icemaker, the outside display for temps, ice, water, external H2O and crushed or cubes, and the LED inside lighting is fantastically bright, the space, moveable shelves, the quiet, the overall efficiency, huge drawers freezer, the wide open doors, the separate temps for vegetables, cheeses, cold cuts, etc. The separate filters in the refrigerator eliminate any smells. Easiest water filter to change we have ever had on any make refrigerator. Over the years, this is the first refrigerator of perhaps 7, we have truly never regretted buying it and frequently comment how happy we are with it!

I purchased a washing machine FS65 on 10-30-2005. In Oct. 2009, my washing machine developed some fault so I contacted the Whirlpool service center and got it repaired. Again in Dec. 2010, the appliance became faulty and so I contacted the service engineer to attend to the machine. He repaired it and I paid 2500/-. But the very next day, my appliance showed the faults again. It was rectified with replacement of PCB and I was charged 2786/- on 01-20-2011. Again on 09-04-2011, the machine became defective. On the call to service center on 09-05-2011 and attended by engineer on 09-06-2011, I was informed that PCB is defective. I failed to understand that the PCB replaced in January was of what quality that it has to be replaced now after such a short span of time. I feel that this is clear cheating with me.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7340XW sounds like a small jet during spin cycle
Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7340XW sounds like a small jet during spin cycle. The Whirlpool Cabrio Washers have a very well known and well documented problem with the tub bearings failing. Many many disgruntled owners have posted their complaints online, and there are many videos showing the issue on youtube. This issue is so prevalent that the manufacturer has created a tub bearing failure repair kit for $350. The repair is so expensive and labor intensive that many of the certified Whirlpool repair shops no longer work on the Cabrio washer stating that a better washer can be purchased for the cost of this repair. That said, the manufacturers customer service group denies that the Cabrio tub bearing failures is a common problem and are quick to state that Whirlpool holds no liability for this problem. Ramping the complaint up to a customer service supervisor is met with the same canned response. Regardless of the thousands of complaints Whirlpool is claiming that it is normal wear and tear for the tub bearings to fail. The manufacturer should recall the units for this manufacturing defect in the Cabrio design.

Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer, which I see has MANY complaints. I had a problem with the F1 issue during the first year. Same issue and I was also told Whirlpool knows it was bad design yet they refuse to help the consumer in anyway. Maybe 50% a new WP washer. Upon my call they will fix it for 389.00 and give a 1 year warranty again. Im no longer confident in WP products.

We moved into our new condo a few months ago and my wife noticed that the knobs and front of our new Whirlpool Stove were getting too hot to touch so we called Whirlpool and since then never used stove. Was over one year old, we had to call their factor service representative. The charge was $98 plus labor $90 to tell us that even though the surfaces were way too hot to touch and dangerous to touch they were still within the factory specs of 167 degrees for the knobs, 152 degrees for the drawer, and 172 degrees for the front glass. He found the front of the unit reached 152 degrees which was hot enough to cause a serious burn when the stove was only set to 400 degrees. Why would a company set specs that will cause serious injuries? If my wife or grandchildren get burned by this crappy stove Whirlpool will be hearing from my lawyer. Stay away from any Aquaclean Whirlpool stove.

I purchased a Whirlpool Dishwasher, model DU1010XTXB1, 13 months ago and now it wont drain nor come on. Interestingly enough, the company claims no fault and wants to charge $129 just to diagnose it. This product has never worked properly, happens to have recalls for the exact same model number, yet wont acknowledge or expand its serial # coverage despite that it is the same exact problems! Do not buy from Whirlpool!

Ice maker kept freezing up. Im continually taking the ice tray out to unfreeze. The frequent removal of the tray eventually broke the tab off on the liner. Ive now been told this (liner) is not a replaceable part and since that is the case, the warranty will not cover. Im upset that the repair technician did not process the claim properly and state that the make had a problem freezing. What kind of company would manufacture a product that would have parts that are unrepairable? You spend close to $2,000 on a refrigerator, wouldnt you think you would have an ice maker that works? I know they hope to sell more appliances this way but you can bet I will not be purchasing another Whirlpool anything! I will also be retracting my recommendations to friends and family to purchase a Whirlpool. The company does not stand behind its products.

I bought the Whirlpool French 4 door fridge WRX988SIBM 01. I like the way it stores and layout (other than the icemaker taking the entire left door out). But I got a lemon, I bought the Lowes 5 year warranty (with the 4 repairs replacement). The fourth repair and dead declaration was 5 years and a week (so just out of Lowes extended warranty by a week). The Death Certificate repair guy said they dont make em like they used to. So I am now buying another fridge - trying Samsung this time. Every fridge has a lemon once in awhile and with my luck... Well you can thank me for taking it off your hands! :) I am averaging 5 years per fridge. Thats a lot of money and I expect to get at least 10 years life on a major appliance.

Bought a Whirlpool Gold model GI6SARXXF04 less than two years ago and have already had three problems. The first was a faulty main water inlet hose that dumped water all over the kitchen floor. It was still under warranty so I didnt have to pay for it. Now have two additional problems. About two months ago there was a puddle of water under the refrigerator every few days. I finally figured out it was ice build up in the bottom freezer chest that melted that caused the water leak. The second issue is that the ice maker just stopped working. It had been working great this whole time and then suddenly it just stopped making ice. I contacted Whirlpool and they will cover the repair for the defrost issue but not for the ice maker. Gee, thanks, way to backup your product. Im guessing the reason they dont backup the ice maker is that its probably the more expensive repair. Like many people here I also will never buy another Whirlpool product again, regardless of what it is. Theyve shown me that not only do they produce inferior products, they also arent interested in customer satisfaction.

Twelve years ago we bought an LPG Whirlpool range for our new home in Rio Rancho, NM. About 5 years ago, a tenant at our home reported a gas leak and the propane company determined that the Whirlpool range was at fault. The dealer in Albuquerque repaired the leak, by replacing all the valves at a cost of $470. A week ago, after a propane fill, once again, at least one valve was found to be leaking. Apparently, Whirlpool does not know how to make a valve that holds up over time. Over a 7 year period, I paid almost double the cost of the stove, only having to replace it at 12 years. These stoves are DANGEROUS! I will not purchase another Whirlpool product for the rest of my life.

Whirlpool front load washer was not working. I waited two and a half weeks for parts. The parts came but they cant fix it. I waited for answer for two more weeks. They decided to replace. After waiting two more weeks, no washer. Its going on eighth week, still no washer. Theres no reason we have to wait so long after paying for the extended warranty in this day and age, and paying good money for the washer.

The machine was great and handled large amounts of laundry. It was very expensive but my wife was happy with its performance. A year and a half into owning it, the electrical code F70 comes up and it stopped working. When I checked online, I found it is a common problem. I contacted whirlpool customer service and they could not do anything. Spoke to the manager, Kiesha and she refused to help me even though I bought both the washer and dryer for a lot of money. Customer service is not a priority evidently. She denies that there is an on-going problem when both the internet and my service tech say differently.

Refrigerator caught fire - I own a 2003 Whirlpool Gold side-by-side refrigerator that I bought new from Lowes in 2003. On Friday, July 13, 2012, I woke up to the smell of burning wires. I called 911 and they sent out a fire engine. While waiting for the firemen to arrive, my neighbor came to help me determine where the smell was coming from. Within seconds, we heard loud clicks and a huge cloud of gray smoke came out from behind the refrigerator. The firemen arrived, entered the house, unplugged the refrigerator and told me that the smoke and smell was coming from behind the fridge.

I have a top-freezer model WRT5715MYW. This week will mark the 3rd time Ive had a service call to complain about food freezing in the refrigerator compartment. The last time the repairman told me I couldnt place food in the center of the refrigerator since that is where the cold air from the freezer compartment comes down into the refrigerator compartment. This time when I called to schedule the repair call, the woman at the appliance store where I purchased this told me she also has a Whirpool refrigerator and she cant place any food on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator due to freezing. So this 21 cu ft refrigerator has a lot less usable space than I was led to believe when I purchased it. I would not recommend this product due to this reason. Beware of that channel that comes down the center of the back of the refrigerator. It seems like a design flaw to me.

Eleven months after purchasing a Whirlpool refrigerator for our office lunch room it stopped working. While the refrigerator was still under warranty, I called Whirlpool for a service call. I was informed that the warranty is voided because the unit is located at a business and not a residential property. I explained to the customer service agent that there is no mention of this policy until after the appliance is purchased. After a considerable amount of time on the phone speaking with several supervisors, I was connected to a Resolution Specialist. She informed me that this policy is available online for consumers to view prior to purchasing Whirlpool appliances and it is the consumers Due Diligence to research warranty policies before purchasing. Consumers beware! Warranties are voided on all Whirlpool appliances that are located at a business address.

We purchased this washer (Whirlpool Cambrio #WTW8000BWO) in December of 2014. It is now 3 1/2 years old and while the washer worked great til just recently, we now have to purchase a different one because this one will cost too much to repair. We did not get the extended warranty. I have since read that the Cambrio has had a lot of problems. Always check the long term owners and what they have to say about the item, would never have purchased this washer had I known what the problems were and that they even were having them they should have taken it off the market til they got the situation fixed.
