The refrigerator is 7 years old and I have already replace parts. The appliance is not made as well as they were made in the past. The inside of the Whirlpool refrigerator is small. The design of putting the soda can dispenser on the door was not a good one. Due to the weight of of the soda in the dispenser is breaking the hinge on the right door or the french door. The rubber gasket is shredding as well.

In July I purchased a Whirlpool Gold oven and cooktop from Lowe’s. It was delivered in Aug. after a 5 wk wait, since it had to be ordered. Since installation, the hot surface light on the cooktop stays on. I called in & was told to try resetting the elec. breaker. Did that... still stays on. Model G7CE3034XB00, Serial D43005649. On Sept. 4th I called & spoke to Carrie (I believe in TN) who told me she would try to find a service tech in my area & would get back to me in 3-5 days. Apx. 5 days later she called & left a message on my cell phone stating that she could not locate a service tech in my area. I would need to find my own service tech & submit any invoices to the resource dept for reimbursement. Parts could be ordered at no charge. I have nothing in writing from the company to confirm I would be reimbursed, nor was I told how to correspond with the resource dept in the event I had an invoice to submit for reimbursement.Today, Sept. 18th, 2014, I called Whirlpool again (800-253-1301) & talked to Stephanie in Michigan. She told me the same info. When I asked to be sent a wiring schematic I was told I didnt need one. When I asked how to get in touch with the resource dept. I was given a fax no. & email acct. When I asked how I was supposed to get in touch if I didnt have either, she said I should go to the local library. Now lets imagine for a moment that I am disabled or live so far out in the country that I cannot get to the library... How am I supposed to get to a fax or email acct. Has anyone at Whirlpool considered that? This is a new appliance under full warranty, yet it has become my job to find a service tech, pay up front, & wait for reimbursement. REALLY??? I am also in the market for a new dishwasher & you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool!

Purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher less than 2 years ago, began noticing a mildew buildup inside. Cleaned it, and bought dishwasher cleaner products, but the problem continued. Realized the dishwasher heater was not working. The dishwasher was staying wet, therefore causing mold. Called appliance repair, and spent 3/4 of the price of the 2 year old dishwasher to repair it. The control box malfunctioned. I was told by the repairman that that was unusual. At the suggestion of the repairman called Whirlpool. I was told since it was beyond the 1 year warranty they will comp us nothing. As a consumer I have no other recourse but to warn others, and to never buy a Whirlpool product again!

We purchased the washer on April 25, 2015. It has been an absolute nightmare. Reached out to Sears within a week of delivery because the wash cycle was way over an hour. Is a terrible machine, my clothes come out dirty, is damaging my clothes and Sears says I cannot return it because according to them I havent had it fixed enough times. It washes for over an hour at times. It takes water and releases water and goes to wash again but is not cleaning the clothes. As a homeowner we pay water, and electricity and perhaps I wouldnt be so upset if my clothes would come out clean. At first the tech told me to change from the HE detergent purchased and recommended at Sears to liquid detergent and then since I still get stains on our clothes he advised me to use less than the recommended amount. I also purchased the kit to wash the machine. This is a real lemon and nobody wants to admit it. I have purchased Whirpool washer before but if they dont admit that this is poorly made and give me a voucher to buy another machine I will never ever in my life buy Whirlpool or Sears for that matter. The machine is just a year old and I cannot use it because it damages my clothes and worst, is not cleaning my clothes. It disgust me to wear dirty clothes or to have my family wear them. So now I have another appointment and at this point I no longer use the machine. I will tell everyone that is willing to hear my experience. Do not purchase this washer, is not good and is only trouble. You are not going to be able to get it exchanged or fixed. I think that a full year would have been enough time for Sears to determine this is a lemon and do the right thing by the customer. I now go to the laundromat because I have a machine that damages my clothes. I am also out of money to purchase a new one and the wearing dirty clothes disgust me.

I bought a whirlpool washer because we thought it was the best. It does not clean our clothes especially my husbands jeans. They are on their third wash at this minute. I use Gain HE detergent. I bought clorox 2, I use spray & wash & I have even started using a little clorox but the red dirt still doesnt come out. I never had this problem with my old washer. If there is any help for me here please let me know. If this is supposed to be a water saver I dont see how I have saved any after washing jeans for the third time. If they are not clean this time, I guess he will wear them dirty.

This stove was in my house when I bought it. It has a glass top on it with marks for each type of burner below. There are a couple of different size burners which makes it very useful. The only problem is with the glass top feature. It gets marked easily even when you try to be careful and many of the marks will not come off with anything I have used. The marks are so prevalent that I would never buy another one.

In 2013 my oven died. Upon doing some research my husband and I went to our local appliance stores in search of a new one for a good deal. We chose a Whirlpool electric range with convection oven. We have had it 2 1/2 yrs and have used it often... until today we had been very happy with it. While baking some French fries we heard a loud pop, almost like a shot, running to the kitchen to find the inside tempered glass shattered! Wow! Shocked to say the least we couldnt believe it. Called our Lowes store, to no avail our warranty had expired. They gave us Whirlpools number with no success. I am extremely disappointed and will probably never buy Whirlpool again!

I purchased two Whirlpool refrigerators 9 years ago and this year, 2018, both of them died. Bad compressors that cost up to $700 to replace. Repair folks would not guarantee them as there could also be other issues, like leaks in the internal parts of the refrigerator. I have a 20 year old frig (Kenmore) in my garage than runs great, no repairs and is in a non heated area. My conclusion is that that Whirpool reduced cost by making cheap products.

I bought a Whirlpool fridge in June of 2014 and the plastic part of the stainless steel handle that attaches it to the fridge broke about a month or so later. After replacing the fridge because the company said they no longer made the part they gave me a new fridge and with that one the door would not close without leaving a gap of about 1/3rd of an inch open at the hinge side. They took that fridge back and sent me a new fridge. A week later I got in the mail a handle for the first fridge which I no longer had. About a week after that I noticed that the latest and third fridges handle had a crack in the same place. Whirlpool sent me 5 replacement parts and they were all defective with the same crack visible in the replacements. Finally I got a replacement handle that looked good and it broke today, Feb 6th 2016, in the same place as the first one. I should mention that each time the company replaced the fridge it was with a different and better model and each with a slightly different handle. There are other design flaws with the fridge. The door is in a corner and there are cabinets on the wall so the door can only open slightly more than 90 degrees which makes it impossible to open the crisper drawer enough to get a cabbage in it and if I want to clean the crisper drawer I must move and turn the fridge in the kitchen. Also if the crisper drawer is not closed completely it causes the guard rail on the bottom door shelf to fly off sending everything on the bottom shelf to fall to the floor. Fun when some are made of glass and filled with liquid. You would think I would have learned my lesson about this company but no! I went to Lowes and bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and when I saw that the automatic door would not open enough to dispense the soap, powder or packet I called a certified Whirlpool repairman who told me after receiving a duplicate that of course would not work either, that there was no solution to the problem and I went back to Lowes and bought a Samsung and my problems were solved. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER Whirlpool or as I now call it, Whirledpoo, product, EVER.

I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool product
I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool products specifically Whirlpool 2-cu ft High-Efficiency Front-Load Washer. I purchased a front loader washing machine for our tenants through Sears back in June of 2013. When it was hooked up it had an error code on it so we contacted Sears and 3 weeks later they sent out a repairman telling us it needed a new motor (this machine had not even washed 1 load of laundry). They ordered the part and Sears paid 1200 to replace a part on an 800.00 washer.....yeah I know dumb right. Well the part replacement did not work. (Surprised) They ordered and delivered a new washer 1 month later....same error code. Lets try again with another washer......same error code. How about another one......water would not stop running into the machine because the sensor was broken. Wait we are not done how about another one.....same error code. No I am not kidding, 10 months later 5 washing machines and my tenants have yet to have been able to wash a single load of laundry. I have been reimbursing my tenants every month for not having a washer for the past 10 months. I finally had Sears reimburse for the washer which they will pick up soon. I am out all the interest for the past 10 months for a product never used. To top it all off I called Whirlpool directly to see if they would be willing to at least give me a coupon for any amount toward the purchase of a different washer. They told me quote We dont do anything to compensate our customer for their troubles. That is the icing on the cake folks!!! I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and I encourage you all to not as well. I want to show them how not caring for their customers can impact them. Please share if you can, but more importantly please pass the word!!!!!

In the first year of my Whirlpool Washing Machine, the motor quit working entirely. Fortunately, the machine was under a 1-year warranty and the motor was replaced by a Whirlpool service technician. My big complaint with this washing machine is this: Even though you select hot water for the wash cycle, the machine has sensors in it that only allow the water to get lukewarm. If it senses the water getting too hot, it adds cold water to bring the wash temperature back down to 78 degrees F. Next time I will do my research and buy a machine that actually allows one to use hot water.

I have a double door bottom freezer refrigerator manufactured by whirlpool. It is less than 2 years old and is an absolute piece of garbage! In less than a year the noise started, then the freezer became a refrigerator and my frozen stuff melted. I had a local technician come in and he fixed it but he indicated that the fix would not likely correct the problem. Sure enough, about 6 months later the same problem started all over again. Nowadays one is never sure where a product is manufactured. However, if Whirlpool had their products made by chimpanzees in the jungle they would be better than the pieces of trash they are now selling!

WRF989SDAM00 - We spent about $1800 on a Whirlpool French Door refrigerator and at 1.5 years we had to replace the compressor for $700+. Apparently Whirlpool will only warranty for 1 year. The repairman told me the compressor he was putting in is exactly the same model as the bad one he took out so I guess I am not surprised that it only has a 1.5 year working range. We are now 1.5 years into the new compressor and sure enough it is dying again. Now it sounds like a jet plane taking off. By the time I replace it again I could have bought a new refrigerator. I am trying to figure out if this refrigerator is on recall because I cant keep replacing the compressor every 1.5 year. Never again will I purchase a Whirlpool product. I think they know the lifespan of that compressor and that is why the warranty falls just short of it!!

Five years ago, I decided to splurge on a really nice (expensive) over-the-range microwave during a complete kitchen remodel and had the Whirlpool Gold Velos Microwave GH7208XRS installed, thinking Whirlpool would be a reliable brand to replace our 18+ year-old (still working) Kenmore countertop model that we had used previously. About 4 months ago, after a couple of mysterious cases of the control panel going haywire (turning on by itself in a different modes), it started pouring smoke out the top and service was called and the magnetron and inverter were replaced to the tune of $482.Fine, things happen. Yesterday, while opening the door, the handle snapped off and (upon closer inspection) I noticed cracks around all sides of the door frame - see photos. After reading about similar complaints about Whirlpool microwaves on this forum, I really feel that this is a defect in materials and should be recalled or at least addressed by the company if they want to maintain their reputation. Right now, I am waiting on their authorized repair service to see what my recourse will be.

The 2 rear steel rack supports were flaming/sparking. I was told by Whirlpool over the phone that this might have been a recalled item, but they would send a technician to check. The technician said it was a build-up of grease and that I should not have used the rack and not to use the rack at all in the future. However, I do not use the microwave often enough to get a build-up of grease and it is cleaned thoroughly. This is a Whirlpool-manufactured product. Why would it be unsafe and why can I not ever use the rack again? If this was a hazard, why has it not been recalled? The technician removed the rack and sprayed a white substance on the support, and I was charged $138.03 for this and left with a partially, unusable appliance. I would like this to be replaced, so that I can use 100% of my microwave or be reimbursed for this expense. Please explain. Thank you.

After purchasing three gold series kitchen appliances in 2013 two months after purchase refrigerator failed. Whirlpool did not have a fix at the time. Told me I had to wait two months for a part to be engineered and then service to be scheduled which is not acceptable. They would not take back the refrigerator and give me a different model so I had to press Lowes to accept it back and they did give me a refund. I then had to purchase a different brand refrigerator which now I dont have a matching set in my kitchen. Then the dishwasher became part of class action lawsuit and now my gold series gas range is obviously damaged too. The control had the plastic panel is bubbling and it is split. Again after talking with Whirlpool customer service they refused to help with this at all claiming this is a cosmetic issue and it wouldve only been covered for 30 days from date of purchase. This gas range also has an aqua lift self-cleaning feature which does absolutely nothing. It does not clean the stove. You have to go into it and clean it the old-fashioned way with chemicals, gloves, mask and a scrub brush. These products are absolute junk and the customer support is non-existent. Ive read a lot of reviews on here for Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer saying horrible things and maybe I lucked out? We got our set at Lowes a couple of years ago and havent had issues. We use Gain HE liquid detergent in the washer and have no problems. We also do the recommended routine cleanings of the machine as the manual says. I pick the settings for what we have, clothing wise, and it washes appropriately and things are clean, no marks or other things people have mentioned. I will click on extra rinse and adjust the soil level if something is particularly yucky. The dryer is great as well as long as you select the proper type of wash you have going on. I tend to do more dry setting and things never come out wrinkled. Sorry for all those who have had bad experiences. Also, others have complained about the noise...our old machine had an agitator and was very loud. Our machines are in a closed room and most of the time we dont hear a thing until the bell rings. Maybe wed hear more if they were in an open area or garage where noise echoes?

Sheets washed in the deep water cycle turn into a giant twisted mess if you dont stop machine and untangle everything. Hate it. Hate it. Do not buy this machine. I use more water by washing things twice or fewer items. What a waste of time!!! Locking lids are the worst thing ever designed. Why?? Dont tell me some stupid kid is going to climb in it. I purchased a Whirlpool brand refrigerator from PC Richards two months ago. The compressor has stopped working causing my refrigerator to stop cooling and in turn all my food has gone bad. I reached out to P.C. Richards and they immediately credited me a check for the full amount of the refrigerator, with the option to get a new one delivered to me. I asked P.C.R. customer service if I would be credited for the food in my fridge and they suggested I reach out to the manufacturer. I reached out and, to my dissatisfaction Whirlpool will not credit me for the loss of the food in the refrigerator. I am completely disappointed. As I mentioned before I purchased the fridge 2 months ago. This is clearly a manufacture issue. I purchased a lemon and I am getting no support from Whirlpool customer affairs department. As a person who works for a reputable company in the purchasing department, I will see to it that we never do business with this company again. A company that doesn’t stand for anything or even compensates their customer for a faulty product should not be in business. Forgot to mention the customer affairs rep. Offered me fifty dollars for my troubles. Which I turned down. Besides the fact that fifty dollars will not cover a third of the items in my fridge, money is no longer the problem. It is the lack of customer service for purchasing one of their appliances. I am completely disappointed and will never recommend or purchase this product again.

We purchased this Gold Series Whirlpool Dishwasher about 4 years ago. It worked very well up until April of this year. At that time, the main pump stopped working and it has to be replaced. There are just two of us in the household so the dishwasher was only used 2 or 3 times a week. We also kept it very clean with no build up. The gasket around the soap dispenser came out and one of the wheels fell off of the bottom rack. Purchased a Whirlpool Electric Range August 2015. Purchased it because it looked pretty and the Aqua Lift Cleaning feature sounded too good to be true. As it turned out it WAS too good to be true! I have just read a # of reviews about this range and I agree with all complaints. Does anyone like this range? The AquaLift cleaning technology is a joke! The baking temperature fluctuates & I could not figure out how to improve on that (for the longest time I thought it was just me not being able to figure out my new oven). The most serious concern however, happened a couple of weeks ago when I turned on the oven & immediately the oven started to smoke and an electrical smell permeated throughout the house. Had I started the oven and immediately left the house our house would no doubt have been destroyed by an explosion/fire.Phoned Whirlpool & because the problem was so serious they had a serviceman at our door within 2 days (yes I am being sarcastic, it did take 2 days). At no time did the call centre express any concern nor did they advise me to unplug the range and to make sure I did not use it. Obviously, I would not use it but shouldnt that be something they advise as part of the checklist talking points.Serviceman arrives 2 days later & advises us that the parts alone would cost $650.00 & oh yes the labour costs to install the parts would be charged by the minute. I didnt even ask him how much per minute because only an idiot would repair this piece of junk!! The power cord to the range had basically melted right through; you could scrape the char right off the cord. The computer part of the range was shot and had a strong electrical smell to it. The serviceman basically said that I shouldnt shoot the messenger and charged us 93.45 to tell us that it was going to be a very costly repair.I disliked this range almost immediately and was looking forward to the day when I would have an excuse to purchase another electrical range. I did not think I would be shopping for another range within 1 1/2 years from the time I purchased this piece of crap!!! Nor did I think that there would be a possibility that this appliance could potentially be hazardous to my family and home. How long is Whirlpool going to ignore all these customer complaints? This range should be recalled! It not only is selling features such as the Aqua Lift technology that do not work properly, it is selling a potential fire hazard.I will never again purchase any appliance that is made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool makes a lot of appliances and uses names such as Maytag, Amana. KitchenAid, etc. I have purchased another range and this one is made by Frigidaire (no connection whatsoever to Whirlpool). I dont know what my experience will be with my new Frigidaire Range but so far I am loving it! Hopefully, my new appliance will not nearly burn my house down. Whirlpool: Step up to the plate & take responsibility for the defective electrical range you are selling before there is serious harm to persons or property! THIS ELECTRIC RANGE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED - MODEL # YWFE715HDEHD.

I have a lower end 4 burner model but I love it. Both power burns are in the front (I would change that) and electronic ignition. The oven temp is true and heats up quickly, I bake upwards of 700 cookies at Christmas time. Even being a lower end model it works great and I use it everyday. I think it is more energy efficient than the model that I replaced, which I replaced in order to have the electronic ignition. I would recommend this Whirlpool Range!

I bought a Whirlpool Dishwasher, Model No. GU3600XTVY in July 2010 for $844.30. In August 2011, it failed to clean dishes. The repairman said it needed a new heating element and computer board which costs $319.92. Today, he installed the new parts and it still wont heat the water! Now he wants to take it in to the shop to check the wiring. My previous Dishwasher was a low quality builder-installed GE that lasted 16 years without repair. If we Americans accept that 1 year is an acceptable life span for consumer products, we will continue to have this type of trash sold to us. Made in America is now the product you dont want to buy.

This washing machine is awful. It takes twice as long to wash clothes. My older washing machine did clothes in 30 minutes or less. This thing takes over and over stop go, stop go, stop go. Open lid it fills again and removes water, when spinning the lid locks and you cannot open it without unplugging and starting all over again. The wash doesnt even circulate to clean the clothes properly arggghhh. Annoying as all get up. The washer has no control for the water level. The clothes dont have enough water to clean or rinse. I spent over $500 on this and cant get rid of it as most people are selling these on local websites as they hate them as well. Whirlpool thank you for taking my money and producing this junk. Never ever again! I think the seller is also responsible for not telling me what to expect of this junk.

These are the worst sets in the world. We bought this set from a hometown store, had them 6 months and all belts on dryer had to have the belt on the dryer replaced, then 2 months later the washing machine went out, so the store did replace both and weve had them about 3 month. The dryer works great so far, the washing machine on the other hand not good at all! The tray where the detergent goes continues to have mold/mildew in it, the clothes come out of wash cycle smelling soured. We have this set inside and we keep our temp set on 67 in our home. There is no excuse for all the problems, not to mention that noise it makes when it washes!! I am completely disgusted!!

Self-cleaning oven system DOESNT WORK AT ALL! The company rep I talked with said the system only works on lightly soiled oven and doesnt clean at all on the oven top or sides. When I explained that my oven was less than lightly soiled (I rarely use it) and that I had run the cleaning cycle twice and none of the soil was affected. Apparently the company is aware of this problem and I believe customers should be made aware of it BEFORE purchasing. I was told there was nothing they could do because my appliance is out of warranty. I asked if they had received other complaints and was told they had. I am not surprised.

We wrote to you about how we should clean them and you recommended heavy-duty degreaser, pin31552a and gas grate & grill cleaner, pin3167a, which we purchased. Neither worked, even with heavy elbow grease. We are very upset. We have purchased Whirlpool products all of our life and would like an answer or some type of explanation. If possible, can we get the grids in black? We try our best to keep these things clean and this is a very bad patten.

Whirlpool’s customer service is one of the worst I have encountered. They consider a 6-7 year old $1500.00 range to be old! I said to her, “Wow, if the population was to throw their Whirlpool appliances into the landfills after 7 years, this would be quite a horrendous situation.” I think its disgusting for a company to build appliances with a shelf life of 6-7 years and with only a 1-year warranty! What a horrible brand! I will never buy another Whirlpool brand product ever again. You spend $1500.00 on a range oven and then around 5 to 7 years the control board blows out and costs another $500.00 to replace plus a service agents fee to remove and install.I asked the Whirlpool agent if I could get the control board discounted and she refused and said, “I am sorry, we are unable to help you.” Pathetic! Their cost on these boards is around $120.00 or so. I was told by an appliance service rep they could discount that $500.00 board even half and still make a decent profit. Do not ever buy Whirlpool. Go with other brands instead. Their customer service policies are horrible. Your hard-earned money will be buying an appliance with a 6 to 7-year shelf life before major repairs.

I have been informed that I need part #W10604640, which is on back-order and they wont give me any idea of how long it is going to take to get this part replaced. Apparently, there are 96 total people who also need this part. I find it hard to believe that a company this big would not have this part on hand and they would not have any idea how long it would take to get it replaced. I asked them to give me a new washing machine for free to replace it because of the poor service and the unreliable washing machine. They told me they could give me another washing machine at 40% off, but based on the lack of follow-up and the amount of time that has passed since my initial call, I dont want another Whirlpool product. We purchased the Whirlpool Gold Series smooth top stove from Lowes in December of 2013. The stove is not even 2 years old and it doesnt work. Last September, I noticed a few times that while baking food in the oven, it was burnt after only 10 minutes, due to a runaway temperature. After that, the oven wouldnt heat up properly, it would take too long to bake anything because the temperature wouldnt reach the reading on the display. Then it just stopped baking or broiling all together with the error Feature unavailable. Weve had a serviceman out at least 3 times. Of course, the warrantys run out and its cost us close to $500 to keep fixing it, and two motherboards and a bottom element later, its still not fixed. They wanted to order 2 more parts at our expense, but we cant continue trying to fix this lemon. I will be shopping for another oven, and will never recommend Whirlpool to anyone.

I purchased new and installed my heater in 2003. SN: 0253109845, MN: EE3J50RD0454. I started removing and replacing or cleaning heating elements in 2011: pretty good service. In 2015 I noticed black and brown water coming from the hot water taps. I opened it again, cleaned it, and realized anode replacement was required. That is when trouble started.I tried everything usual including 4 foot cheater bar, heating the coupling, impact wrench, tapping with a hammer, etc. Finally found a 700 ft-lb. pneumatic impact wrench on sale at Harbor Freight. After serious wear and tear on my air compressor and about 1-1/2 hours of work with the impact wrench, I got it out. The threads were messed up some, but I did not look close. I had to put the 1-1/4 inch head back in to return it to service while I found and ordered an anode. Could not get one from Whirlpool and could not buy one in Lowes where I bought the heater. The surprise was when I cleaned the threads to put the head back in, I had to use almost as much time and torque to get it to stop leaking as I did when I took it out. Then, when I did try to install the new anode, it required to same effort. Conclusion, There was some kind of imperfection with the threads in the coupling that messed up the threads on the initial installation of the anode, which made it nearly impossible to remove. Whirlpools quality control stinks. The next one will NOT be Whirlpool.

When I bought this stove, I already had a glass top (Sears) which was satisfactory but I changed to get a convection oven, never had a problem cleaning the glass top. To me, Whirlpool was, and I emphasize WAS, a reputable manufacturer and the stove offered everything I needed. Not so, the glass top is a nightmare to clean; no amount of elbow grease works. It is like cooking on a mirror. Talked to everyone I contacted but, it seems, I am the faulty element in this problem: I DONT KNOW HOW TO CLEAN!!! YOU NEED A FIRST OF SOMETHING FROM TIME TO TIME AND THIS WAS A FIRST FOR ME.They told me the only solution they could offer was to buy their own cleaner. Why do they need to market their own cleaner? I did not buy a museum piece that needed to be treated with special care, I bought a stove to cook on. I want as many people as possible to know about that uncleanable glass top. Every time I need to cook, I cringe at the amount of time and effort I will have to spend to get it clean. I am not a novice, I have been doing housework for the past 60 years. Beware, it is a most frustrating situation to having paid top dollars and to be stuck with a product that brings such frustrations. By the way, it was bought at The Brick in Canada. They were not helpful either.

I have never posted a negative product review but must do so now. The refrigerator is 1 1/2 years old at most and has been well taken care of. I noticed today that the finish at either side of the bottom of each refrigerator door handle has a problem. I couldnt tell if the finish was pitting or is just discolored. I called customer service and expected that they would help, especially since we have an extended warranty. Representative number one told me that the extended warranty only covers problems that affect the function of the product. I spoke to her supervisor and then her supervisor. I got plenty of apologies but no support. I offered to send pictures, but they were not even interested in checking out the problem. After speaking to them, I took the handle off and I see now that the handle cut into some sort of film that exists on the metal. (I am not talking about the protective plastic coating that is on the the refrigerator at delivery.) The film is lifting off the surface and creating discoloration. If Whirlpool was at all concerned, I think this issue could be fixed with some sort of gasket to keep the metal handle from cutting into the surface. Im hoping the problem is static, but hard to say what will happen. If they had been interested in trying to understand the cause of the problem, it would have been easier to accept the limitations of the warranty. It would have demonstrated an interest in avoiding this problem for other consumers in the future. My last Whirlpool product. Period. Good luck if you decide to do business with them.

Please read if youre thinking about buying from Whirlpool - the Whirlpool front loading washing machine. Hmm, where do I start? Oh yeah, its a colossal piece of garbage. Four years ago my wife and I went shopping for a washer and dryer. We looked at quite a few and then we came across the Whirlpool front loading washer. Ah, the wave of the future. The end all solution to your washing needs. The best the market has to offer and at over $1,100, they should be. The salesman completely sold us on why we should spend a little extra for such a superior product. I thought, I work hard. I dont make a ton of money, but this sounds like a long term, worthwhile investment. Wrap it up, the washer and dryer combo. Fast forward 4 years later. Whats that awful clunking sound the washer is making? Oh, its the drum. Maybe its off center. I opened it up to find that the spider arm is broken. Isnt it only 4 years old? Surely they (Whirlpool) will fix this at no charge to the consumer because as I was told 4 years ago, this is the best technology. Now mind you, its just my wife and me. She doesnt have to do laundry for 50 people or even 4 for that matter. Calling Whirlpool (ring, ring, ring. Hello, this is Whirlpool), I explained to them what the problem is and that we have only had this magnificent piece of gold for 4 years. What can you do for me? Sorry sir, the machine is only warrantied for a year. Youll have to buy the $350 part to fix it. Reading between the lines, Youre screwed sucker. Thanks for the cash. Really, youre telling me that I spent almost $2,000 of my very hard earned money for a washer and dryer set, and after only 4 years of use you will not fix it? Allow me to paraphrase the reply in laymans terms. Nope, youre ** and thanks for the green. Here are my thoughts on Whirlpool. They are one of the worst companies out there for customer service. The front loading washing machine is a horrible product that should be pulled off the market and never be sold again. My experience with this company will never happen again because I will never ever buy another one of their products. So please, before you think about giving them your business by buying a front loading washing machine, think again. And remember this - I now have a $1,100 paperweight.

In May of 2010, my husband and I purchased a Cabrio washing machine. By the fall of 2010, I had put in a call to Whirlpool due to the washing machine chewing holes into clothing and not cleaning the clothes. Some of the clothes would come out of the washing machine with dry spots on them. Whirlpool sent out two different servicemen and even though one of them replaced the agitator we have still had problems with it. One of the servicemen even tried to tell me it wasnt the machine but it was my detergent (I use HE Purex dye free). I was told by a service rep at Whirlpool that there was nothing more they could do and I would just have to deal with it. I understand that products go faulty but with good customer service these issues could be resolved. Whirlpool obviously has little regard for their customers. I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio with the touch panel and top loader. The absolute worst. The machine leaves white marks all over dark clothes even when the extra rinse feature is used. Ive tried multiple detergents, skipping fabric softener completely, using very little detergent, and even tried different water temperatures. Nothing works. And should one have to go through such extremes to not have white streaks left on dark clothes? Absolutely not especially for the money spent. The machine wrinkles clothes like I have never see before. The dryer usually gets them out but not always. They are mangled after washing. Using the first or second spin speed helps reduce some but they are wetter going into the dryer that way. If I wash bed clothes, the tight fitting sheet that fits snugly around the mattress must be washed alone. If not, all the other items end up encased in it as if youve intentionally packed it that way to carry everything around. This leaves everything absolutely soaked. I have also had shirts come out with dry spots on them. How does a piece of clothing come out of a washer with more than one dry spot on it? And no I did not over pack the machine.I have had no problems with the dryer. It does its job so no complaints on that. I would not recommend the Whirlpool Cabrio to my worst enemy. Complete waste of time, money, and water!!! Very disappointed and will never buy from this company again and will prevent anyone else from doing so the rest of my life. Did the company do zero testing on this machine before selling it? Because I see a lot of repetitive reviews. Or the company was well aware and did not care and just wanted to make money? Either way is unacceptable. Garbage!!!

Cabrio Whirlpool Washer - Bought this washer from HHGregg in Orange Park, Florida. This washing machine is horrible!! It does not fill the tub with water enough to even cover the clothes. Some of the clothes are not even wet. They just sit in dirty water, no agitation. Then it refills with water and the rinse water is dirty, there is no agitation or movement during the wash cycle. My clothes are stained and dried food and dirt are still on the clothes. My white clothes are now gray. This is the worst machine. I have tried everything. I am now hand washing the clothes and trying to add water to at least cover the clothes but the sensor just drains the extra water out. This machine is less than a year old. Whirlpool side by side with in door ice maker W10281961D - I purchased the refrigerator 10-2013. Within 9 months all of the food in the refrigerator side was freezing. Unfortunately, I did not purchase the extended warranty so I would turn up the temp control every 24 hours as suggested in the manual. The water maker then stopped working. I am disabled and money is tight, but I was wasting so much by throwing frozen produce and eggs away and was worried about thawing meat on the counter since it was not possible to in the refrigerator.I finally broke down, called Sears, purchased the warranty at that time, which was $259.00 and when the repairman came out we found out the damper was broken, thus causing the food in the refrigerator to freeze and the motherboard had went out, thus causing the temp controls not to work. The extended warranty had a $500 max, so we had to pay an additional $120.00 out of pocket. It is working fine now, but in my opinion, it should not have stopped working as quickly as it did since it was an expensive purchase to start out with.

I purchased this piece of crap excuse for a washing machine, the Whirlpool Cabrio, almost 2 years ago, in September, 2015. Since that time I have had nothing but dissatisfaction about how it washes, and the extremely poor results. I contacted my sales associate early on, I was told, just like others who have purchased this machine, that it was a water-saving machine, and I needed to read the manual closely and just do what it said to do. I did that. Long story short, I am sick and tired of this machine, stopped using it, bought another machine that lets me choose how much water for each and every cycle, it washes extremely well, my clothes come out clean, it HAS AN AGITATOR, DIFFERENT BRAND, and I am very HAPPY with it! I will never ever buy a Whirlpool product again. I am well-known, have an extremely large number of friends, and I will be spreading the word that Whirlpool built a piece of crap. Never mind that piece of crap washing machine was mandated per government regulations to cut down on water, thats a bunch of crap. Users should not have to buy expensive cleaners, tote extra water to a washing machine that uses so little water that it barely covers the clothes, and no person should have to use a product like this. Never. Washed clothes from this machine stink, the odors will not leave my clothes, whites are now yellow, stained, and colors have white spots on them. Whirlpool, you have built this piece of crap, I hope you have large heapings of Karma! What a joke. What a useless company now, sell out and go play on the beach. You deserve the dirt, not your use-to-be-loyal customers.

I had to track her down for her to tell me she can do nothing! The hold times are always extended. I have a pile of ruined clothes and a pile that I am attempting to hand wash. I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer in 2007. They have been the biggest pieces of junk. One year after my purchase, the water pump broke and had to be replaced for $100 and that is with my husband doing it. Then the dryer broke twice. Now, the washer is not spinning. He took it apart and I purchased $80 in parts. It still doesnt spin. He thinks the motor went and it gives a p50 code. This washer does make holes in your clothes. So many of my summer tops were ruined because of this washer. A friend has the same washer and she started getting the holes in the clothes, so that is how we figured it out. Today, I went and picked up a washer at my rental home, a GE that is 10 years old. My clothes never felt cleaner and it runs like a charm. That Cabrio always smelled like mildew because it seemed like all the water didnt drain out of it and it would sit in the bottom. What a shame. Its only 6 years old and I paid $800 for it and for parts. My husband cant wait to put it on the curb on garbage day. My friend warrantied hers and when the guy couldnt fix the problem, they gave her partial money back. At least she got something. These should be recalled and we should get partial money back depending on how old it is. I will tell everyone not buy these. They are the biggest pieces of junk!

I purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer and paid for the extended warranty from Lowes about 5 years ago. After about a year, the washer had problems with excessive vibration and noise. Under Lowes warranty, a repairman came and adjusted the level. He came out several more times and made other adjustments, replaced the drum, then bearings and raised the level again. He said he could not declare the washer a lemon, even though it was because they were told this was taboo. They were instructed to do whatever they could to keep the washer going throughout the life of the warranty. Now the washer stops mid-cycle and an fl or f1 error code appears on the control board. I contacted Customer Service who said I can purchase another extended warranty for over $300 or pay their repairman for the visit including parts and labor. What I paid for the extended warranty and to purchase a new one would pay for a new washer.

A few weeks after we bought it, the washer was already having issues spinning out, and the clothes would have to go through another rinse and spin cycle. A bout a year and a half in and I had to replace the pump because it stopped draining. Even carefully loading the machine, and at least two or three times a week it would not spin out. Two weeks ago it stopped agitating actually performing washing action and spinning out all together. Last night I replaced the actuator which controls the speed or lack thereof in the spin. Still nothing. Ive reset it multiple times, still nothing. At least the clothes are getting wet. At tax return time I am replacing this piece if garbage and I will never get another whirlpool, or Maytag washer again because from what I have been told by dealers and repair men; they are all garbage.

Cabrio washer and dryer are not energy saver by any means! Have had the pair for almost 1 year and have spent at least 3 years of washing and drying time with these. What use to take 30 minutes to wash now takes at least 48 or more and the dryer has to be run twice on lots of loads to dry! The other thing is, with no water in the tub it really does not have a soak cycle to get really dirty stuff clean, so you wash things 2 or 3 times! Now I know why I see these washers and dryers like new in the used stores for $200 to $300. Thanks for the junk Whirlpool.

When the customer service agent answered my call (after being on hold for 21 minutes), she set up an appointment for a repair person to come out to look at it for $79. Whirlpool Gold Bottom Mounted Freezer - I advised Whirlpool that the refrigerator has two design flaws... one that makes the drain freeze up and even more importantly what is involved in correcting the problem. They replied that they were unaware of the issue when its all over the internet and has been for well over a year... maybe more. I sent them a couple pages of internet links and they said they would advise their engineers. As they have done with others, they suggested I should have gotten the extended warranty but that hardly addresses the problem(s).

Whirlpool said it was not their problem since it was over a year since I bought it. The technician said this is a problem with this model. I am a single mother of a 5 year old and I take care of my mother as well.
I am a single mother of a 5 year old and I take care of my mother as well. I purchased a whirlpool because I believed them to be reliable, boy was I mistaken! I am in the military and while on an 8-month deployment I got a message from my mother that the washing machine had stopped working. Here is my mother who cannot drive - with laundry bags and a 5 year old in tow walking to the laundromat to wash, only to carry wet laundry back to the house to dry. Thanks a lot Whirlpool! My cousin in Michigan tried to help my mother with the company and a repairman as much as possible from over the phone. Here is what I got:The washer repairman came this morning. He did the diagnosis but I did not approve the replacement parts and repairs. First of all, he said that the motor control board was bad. To replace it with a new board would be $503 and a refurbished one would be $490.03. If the motor control board was replaced, it might fix the problem with the user interface. If not, the cost to replace that would be $302.62.Apparently there are 4 boards that could have problems. He also said there was a problem with the start button. Anyway, we ended up paying for the service call ($129), but I thought the cost for the replacement parts was too much to justify when we could get a new one for about the same cost. He recommended that we get a Service Contract when buying something new because of the cost to replace the parts. While doing some research online, unless you purchase an extended warranty or have experience in 2M; you will be researching new washers every 2-4 yrs. What happened to built to last? It seems to me all this technology/circuit boards/computers to make things work have degraded the appliance quality.Im sorry for the bad news but I just wanted you to have all the info. Let me know what you think. I know the washer is only a little over 2 years.

I am excited that I found this site, putting it in Favorites! Using the advice from ConsumerReports, we purchased a Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator model GI 6SDRXXY02. We were looking forward to the energy efficiency reported. I blamed the kids and my husband when the water started appearing on the floor by the refrigerator. After a while, I started investigating and I saw the sheets of ice that had formed in the bottom of the freezer. Several times, I removed the ice, only for it to form and start leaking on the floor weeks later. We discovered the drain was frozen and that during the defrost mode, water would freeze in the bottom, and once the ice was too high, the water would flow over the ice onto the floor. My husband has unloaded the freezer and defrosted the drain with a hair dryer several times. So sick of this!! We never received a recall notice and of course, the warranty is out. I wish we hadnt paid so much for this refrigerator. It would have been out by the curb months ago. We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and getting new cabinets. I will have to dispose of this expensive refrigerator. UGH, money down the drain!! We wont buy a Whirlpool!!!

We purchased our unit (Microwave Hood Combination #WMH53520AH-1) in Fall of 2013 and within a year we noticed there were occasionally problems with the sensors; occasionally when you would open the door the lights would flicker and even rarer still, they wouldnt turn on at all. Id close and re-open the door several times to try to get it to register, because if it doesnt you are unable to heat anything in it. The sensor issue increased with the passage of time, but because it was outside of the 1 year warranty, Whirlpool refused to do anything about it, instead advising that I pay $70-140 for a service professional to come out and inspect it. The biggest problem with the sensor issue in this unit is that normally, if you open the door mid-heating cycle, the microwave will automatically turn off but once I opened the door AND IT CONTINUED TO EMIT MICROWAVES - the cycle stayed on!!!Needless to say, on the occasion that the microwave is actually working and we are heating something up in it, we NEVER open the door mid cycle and instead hit the cancel button, which blessedly works. You would think Whirlpool would care about their reputation for making high-quality electrical products. A flaw in the construction or design of a product can appear if quality of materials is poor and the problem can be exacerbated over time. Which is why I assume the warranty is only for one year. High Quality Products and Good Customer Service are such rare things these days. For our next microwave (which I imagine well need soon) I think well forego Whirlpool and go with a different company.

I purchased all new Whirlpool appliances for my kitchen from Lowes about 5 years ago. The dishwasher was leaking water onto my hardwood floors after about a year. I figured out that the seal was pulling away on the lower left corner. I fixed that myself. It cleaned pretty well for about 3 years. Now its not cleaning at all. I took the lower spray arm off to try to clean it. Almost all of the holes are clogged with debris. (I clean the filter at least once a week.) I went ahead and ordered a new sprayer arm, maybe that will help.As for the rest of the appliances... After about 6 months, the freezer started filling up with water that then froze on the bottom and allowed water to pour onto the floor. The microwave handled broke after about a month. (They did send me a replacement handle.) The knobs on the stove are starting to peel. One of the knobs wont stay on, so I keep it in the drawer next to the stove. Overall, I am very disappointed in all of the appliances. This will be the last time I buy Whirlpool.

Whatever you do, dont ever buy a Whirlpool French door refrigerator. For the last 5 months this $2,200 error in our judgement has not worked. We purchased it late last September and were so excited to enjoy this sleek machine. Wrong. In November a controller broke and the refrigerator portion froze over freezing everything and blowing apart the deli drawer. Then the ice maker was not working, it topped out at about 10 cubes a day. After that it acquired the lovely habit of shutting off every several minutes. 24 hours a day. Every time it would turn back on it would chime. 24 hours a day. And neither the refrigerator nor freezer portion would maintain temperature. Whirlpool keeps sending people out, turning us into their Guinea Pig while they try to come up with a solution. The chiming has finally stopped but we still dont have an ice maker and the light is intermittent. Another repair man is due tomorrow. So unless you have countless hours to spend waiting for and dealing with repairmen, making phone calls and enjoying throwing away spoiled food, dont waste your money with this company.

We purchase the Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher GU2400XTPB7 with our new home. This dishwasher has a plastic tub. For some unknown reason the dishwasher started to leak, I checked every hose connection and could not find the leak until I noticed four small burn marks in the plastic tub underneath the heating element. It actually looks like someone took a cigarette to the plastic. One of the burns went through the plastic tub, and this is where the leak is. Note: at no time did any of our dishes touch the heating element.I called Whirlpool customer service and they said they would send a technician out for $81 and in addition I would be charged $19 for every 15 minutes of service. I had asked to speak to a supervisor and he recommended that a technician come to my house at my expense and all the supervisor could say was that he was sorry, which became even more frustrating. No remuneration was offered. I have had other issues with our Whirlpool washing machine (holes in clothes), gas range stove (ignitron issues), and fridge. l will never purchase any Whirlpool product again including Jenn-Air. I made this quite clear to the supervisor. Whirlpools products and customer service are inferior based on my experience with our four appliances. We purchased what we thought was a top of the line, high quality washer and dryer, Whirlpool WTW7800XWO approximately a year and a half ago. It has the glass top with a plastic frame, which has just cracked at the hinge location. I went online to read reviews and then called the Whirlpool Customer Service number, 1-800-253-1301 for assistance. I was thinking after reading the reviews that this should be a simple recall type discussion; however, I got completely the opposite! I asked if this was a common problem and the response I got was, Well, we have had people sit on them, stand on them and fall on them, so they have broken for all kinds of reasons! I was flabbergasted! Of course, I was then told it was out of warranty but he could sell me a new one for $219.38 plus tax plus shipping for a grand total of $261.17. It is clear that Whirlpool does not allow their employees access to the complaint line. This must be kept top secret because the only people that know are the thousands of people that have called in to complain, and once you listen to a complaint, you are fired so you cant hear another one and figure out this is a common problem the consumers are getting screwed on! Every appliance in my house is a Whirlpool and the first to go was the washer after 11 years, which is when we bought this new set. When we have to replace the rest, dishwasher, fridge, etc., it will definitely not be Whirlpool unless they do something about known problems and help the consumer out, especially in an economy like this because bare minimum word of mouth advertising is the worst kind to have! I will now see if someone from Whirlpool reaches out to me or not! In the meantime, I will go to Change.org and sign the petition, never again to purchase a Whirlpool product!

I purchased this microwave in September 2010. It was installed in a vacation home, so it has actually been used for less than one year. It has now stopped heating food for the fourth time. The previous problems miraculously fixed themselves after flipping the fuse for a few minutes. I guess I should have been suspicious at that point, but I figured maybe I had overheated something. But this time, the problem has not corrected itself. The Whirlpool representative that I spoke to, while very polite and personable, only scheduled a service call that will cost me $89.95 PLUS parts and labor. I asked her if other people had reported this same problem, since it had happened to me several times. She told me NO. I decided to do some research myself (yes, I know; I should have done this BEFORE I spent $578 on a worthless product) and found that many others have had the same problem, and that this is obviously a defect in the design of this unit. Unfortunately, I purchased the entire Whirlpool package because of a special rebate available at the time. Now, I am wondering if my other appliances will begin to break down in the near future. After reading about the experiences of others, I am calling to cancel the service visit. I will be removing the microwave from my kitchen and purchasing a new one. Whirlpool has lost a customer. I will NEVER purchase a Whirlpool product again.
