We purchased the Whirlpool washer less than a year ago and are now having the 4th transmission put into it. We are also having the 3rd timer put into it. We purchased this from Sears and bought the extended warranty (thank God). One of the times the technician ordered the parts to repair the machine. The service center sent the wrong parts and we had to wait an additional week for the correct parts to arrive. The 3rd transmission they installed lasted a week before it leaked gear oil all over our floor. When you do get a service call scheduled it will get rescheduled to a later date. This happened twice. They also cancelled the service call once before they fixed the machine. If I could give a zero star for this I would. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHER AND DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO SEARS FOR ANYTHING. Worst company to business with. I will say this that the service guy that comes out to do the work is a good guy. He stayed until almost 9:00 pm on one of the service calls. Hes been here so many times our dog knows him and doesnt bark at him anymore.

I just replaced a 4 year Cabiro washer with a Samsung. The washer was making terrible loud noise when spinning. It sounded like a jet plane. The repairman said it was a bearing that was going out and that it was a common problem in the Cabiro washers. Cost to repair it would be $500.00. Last week, it finally started spewing oil from underneath so had to buy a new washer. I will never, ever buy anything made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool said it was off the one year warranty (duh) and they wouldnt help with repairs.

You Have Been Warned! Do Not Buy A Whirlpool. We bought this Whirlpool washer from Lowes. It is a top loader without the agitator in it. The sales pitch was very good. One of the best washers on the market. It was less than 1 year old when it started getting out of balance. We would stop it and rearrange the clothes and start it back up. Over a few months it just got worse. Now, it will scare you when it gets out of balance. You cant set within 5 of it or it will run you over when it jumps, but you have to set close enough monitoring it or it will run out the door of the utility room after you. Now, I find out the Maytag has bought Whirlpool Corp. Not a good move for them. Whirlpool has mess its own name up, why would Maytag want any part of it? I dont think I will trust Maytag anymore either for fear it may be a Whirlpool.

Glad to know we are not alone in our disappointment with our Whirlpool French door refrigerator, but I am wondering what and when Whirlpool is going to do something about this. What a blow to their reputation. Goes to show things are not made as they used to be. We purchased our Whirlpool Gold French door (bottom freezer) in August of 2010. Here we are October 2012 and this is the third time it has stopped working. We have lost food, weekends waiting for repair people and cleaning up messes, and money. Same problem as others are reporting - the electronic board and controls. I just spent my Friday evening on the phone with Whirlpool, first explaining the problem to no result then waiting for a manager to call me back. Who (guess what?) never called. I finally called them and got the same script as the rest of you. It is outside the manufacturer warranty. Really, that is what you are giving me? Plus they will only look at it if we have a Whirlpool repair person come see it. When can they come? In 4 days! Ha, not likely. I am not giving this company another cent. We spent almost $2,000 on this fridge, all we are getting is 2, 3, 5 years? What a shame. We are fortunate enough to have had some space in our garage beer fridge for what I can save of the food. Our 7 years old, $300 Moffat fridge has been working like a charm. We will never again fall for the looks of a Whirlpool, let alone purchase another one of their appliances.

Whirlpool Gold GC3SHAXVBOO - Two issues in two years. We purchased this refrigerator online through Whirlpool in April 2010. Almost a year later, a circuit board went. This was repaired under warranty. Our refrigerator was making loud cycling noises and we were told this was normal. Now a year later, again we have an issue. This time its the compressor. We called customer service and were told there is nothing they can do. The cost to fix approximately is $700. This is very upsetting to buy a $2000 refrigerator and have two major issues within two years and then not have the company stand by their product. I would wonder how many other people have this model and have these issues as it seems like a lot. Whirlpool customer service is terrible, non-caring and offered no assistance.

I recently purchased a top of the line self-cleaning Whirlpool/KitchenAid range. Or so I thought. I used the self-cleaning feature for the first time only to find out it literally does not do anything. Whirlpool quickly answered my Saturday morning phone call and were very professional. When I told them the Aqualift did not work, they asked if I purchased the Aqualift kit. No, what does it contain? Two sponges and a scraper. Basically I was told I would have to clean the oven manually. That would be fine except I have osteoarthritis and cannot clean it manually. Shame on Whirlpool and KitchenAid and Consumer Reports for not doing their due diligence and not testing important features accurately, over a greater period of time with real day-to-day scenarios with people who actually know what they are doing.

Moved to new house with new Whirlpool appliances, including oven, in August, 2015. I did not cook in oven at all until Thanksgiving meal. Had something spill over in oven. Spillover caught fire. Oven at 350 degrees. Complained to Whirlpool. A supervisor told me that it is normal for spillover to catch fire. They sent out a tech to check oven, and said I would be responsible for paying tech. The tech explained that unlike conventional ovens, this oven has heating elements outside of oven, so to get to the temperature of 350 degrees, the heat at the bottom of oven can get to over 550 degrees. He could not get Whirlpool to replace oven. I didnt have to pay, but now I am afraid to use it. Some of the finish on the inside of the oven was burned away, so it is not like I can trade it in. I feel the oven has a defective design if spillovers are supposed to catch fire while you are cooking, and the finish gets damaged. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again, if I can help it.

I purchased two Whirlpool refrigerators 9 years ago and this year, 2018, both of them died. Bad compressors that cost up to $700 to replace. Repair folks would not guarantee them as there could also be other issues, like leaks in the internal parts of the refrigerator. I have a 20 year old frig (Kenmore) in my garage than runs great, no repairs and is in a non heated area. My conclusion is that that Whirpool reduced cost by making cheap products.

Ive had a Whirlpool range for not even a year yet and the thing is on its third repair! First, the motherboard goes out twice. Then, a month after the second motherboard replacement, the broiler drawer handles melts off! ABT has been good at repairing it but seriously, I got the appliance last May! Now, Ive been waiting two months for some insulation piece on the handle. I think this product is a lemon and I am highly disappointed in this brand. I had called Whirlpool regarding this and they said their technicians would have to inspect the product and repair it. I trust them less to repair the stove than ABT!

I bought a Maytag front load washer on October 24, 2010. I have not been able to use it because it came damaged by the manufacturers. I contacted them by phone several times and it took them three months to send someone (A and E sears repair). Two months passed and I did not get the parts necessary or a replacement washer. I kept calling and finally they sent someone again in May 2011. They said they where going to order the parts because the new company was not going to replace the machine, even though it was already damaged. They said I would get the parts between three-five business days. I only got one part. A and E sent a repair guy again on the 22nd of June. This one said they needed the entire machine in parts and that he would order the parts. I called A and E one week later and they said they were waiting for the on manufacturer to send the parts (Whirlpool). The 26th and the 27th of July, I got the parts. On the 22nd of July, another repairman came and said we needed more parts. Today, August 16, 2011, I called Whirlpool and A and E and now they said the parts wont be here till after October 26, which by then I would have to pay for the parts and labor if I wanted it fixed because by then the one-year warranty would have expired. So here I am with a $700 washer, which was never used and they refused to fix/replace. They sold me a lemon!

Bought a Whirlpool french door fridge in July of 2019, The icemaker began pouring water out of it and the temperature of the fridge would not go below 50 degrees. Contacted Whirlpool and the technician says it will be over $800 in parts plus service to repair. Now I must go 24 days without a fridge in the middle of summer until they can get the parts. How does a 10 month old fridge need all of the parts replaced except the condenser in that short of time? Whirlpool should be held accountable for manufacturing the defective fridge and leaving their customers stranded.

I bought my house brand new with all new Whirlpool Gold Series appliances. About a year and a half from purchase date, I started having issues with my fridge, then my dryer, then my washer, then my fridge again and that lasted about 5 months, then my microwave and my dishwasher. My microwave stopped working in January. It’s now April and I still do not have a new one. It keeps getting lost or shipped to the wrong address or something. Every time I call, the representatives don’t know how to look it up. I wind up on hold for at least 30 minutes, and I get transferred to at least 3 different people. I hope my last appliance doesnt break because I’m over Whirlpool, and I will never buy another appliance from them again.

We contacted the warranty company, not realizing it was still under the manufacturers warranty. The warranty company came out and took a look and claimed it would be about $1500.00 in parts to repair. We contacted whirlpool and they also sent a service person that claimed the same thing. Both service people claimed that the other did something to the machine and it was the others responsibility to fix it. We have contacted whirlpool and the parts have been ordered. We were informed today that they are on backorder and will not be available until some time the middle to the end of January. I contacted Lowes and discussed the machine and expressed my complaints. I realize that it has a sensor and fills the machine with the amount of water according to the weight of the clothes but have found that regardless of what cycle I place the machine in, it doesnt place over 2 inches of water in the machine. It does not clean the linens, under garments or any type clothes. In fact, it has ruined my designer clothes. It is impossible to get the wrinkles out with an iron. Im very disappointed in the service we have received with this washer.

My new fridge is extremely hard to open. The technician that was sent out told me that there is too much suction building up inside the fridge and freezer and that is why it has to be yanked to open. This is not only annoying it means the fridge is constantly being pulled forward out of place. Technicians solution was to deactive the castors under the fridge. At the time he was here I did not realize that I could then no longer move the fridge out of its place to clean. I called Whirlpool and complained and was told that they could do nothing more for me because the fridge is in good working order. I hardly would call this good working order. They also informed me that if I wished to clean under the fridge or the coils at the back it would require a service call to move the fridge and I WOULD BE CHARGED EACH TIME. Needless to say I AM VERY, VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE WHOLE SITUATION.

My old 25 yr old Whirlpool died and was shopping for a new one. I saw the Cabrio and was really impressed by the features and large capacity interior. Clothes arent clean, they are so twisted when I take them out and theres a horrible smell, like oil burning when it runs. The machine would fill up and when it would start to wash, it wouldnt, it would stop. And a loud humming noise was coming from the back.I shut it off and turned it back on and it wouldnt clear. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to clear it and start over. The bearings are gone now and I was going to have a repairman come and look at it, but now I wont bother! After reading everyones comments this Cabrio is a piece of junk and Im sorry I ever bought it! So now Ill be shopping for a new one tomorrow with an agitator!!! From the very beginning the washing machine did not clean the load. It doesnt even get the load completely wet. The best you can hope for is to utilize lots of fabric softeners to at the least make your clothes smell clean because they surely wont be. Dont even get me started on the load lock feature because it serves no purpose other than to drive you batty. Washer, barely 6 months old, purchased at Lowes. While my washer cleans and I am happy with it, my washer started making loud noises during the spin cycle. I called Lowes warranty service approx 9/26/13; tech scheduled for 10/8, over a week later. Diagnosis: stripped bearings; total bearings and all tub components must be replaced. Parts ordered to be delivered to my door. Cost of washer: approx $800. Cost of parts: over $1600. Washer cannot be replaced until they have attempted to fix it at least 3 times. Repairman returns on 10/18 to repair. Oops, large plastic tub component shipped broken from manufacturer. Reorder parts for repair on 10/29. Finally a repair BUT A&E left the large tub part saying they had no room to take the part. So now Lowes is trying to arrange to dispose of the huge part sitting in my home. I live in a condo so the part cannot be disposed of in our facility. This has been a nightmare to fix and while customer service was cordial, they were totally unable to provide what is considered excellent customer service. So whose fault is it? I have missed several hours of work to try to get this taken care of. I spent money visiting a laundromat for over a month. I am the customer and guess what that means? Nothing! Now my concern is getting that large part out of my home and whether to buy an extended warranty OR just throw it out if it breaks. Very dissatisfied customer! And no the warranty for this major part overhaul is not a year from installation..... my warranty still starts the day of purchase. Are you serious? My advice: ask your friends about their appliances & esp service if they received it.

Took a day off work, then they call me to cancel the appointment. I will advised people not to buy Whirlpool appliances because that is not the appliance I have with them. All whirlpool appliances have a defect. My refrigerator, my washer and dryer, my microwave all have issues. Most of the whirlpool at all. Services agents are rude and not professional. One agent from Tennessee had the nerve to tell me I have to lose money to get services right. When asked to cancel service plan I was told to write a letter to get my money back. My advice if you are in the process of changing your appliances DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES because your problem will not be resolve by talking to those stupid agents and will not let you talk to a supervisor.

This is our second Whirlpool refrigerator that has the same defrost water drainage problem. I was told this newer model had updated technology, not so, actually it is worse. My older refrigerator went about 8 years before I started noticing water on the floor and this newer model is 4 years old and it started having water overflow at 3 1/2 years. Then in April we replaced the water filter and the ice-maker stopped working. My freezer also stinks like stale water (my reason for replacing the old refrigerator plus the water on the floor). I followed a YouTube video for defrosting the drainpipe, it was very tedious, labor intensive, and time consuming and worked for 3 weeks. This is very upsetting. After spending $2500 to have such problems and my expensive $150 4-year extended warranty expired just weeks before the ice-maker went out. This is obviously a design problem that Whirlpool refuses to address since my other model was a year 2000 model and my 2013 has the exact same problem. VERY POOR customer care in addressing these design failures of both the defrost drainage (just make a larger drain port!!!) and the ice-maker.

I had water heater EE3Z50RD0550V installed on 11/3/11 and it started leaking July 29, 2013. Whirlpool gave me Return authorization # and said I have to return the water heater to Lowes (purchase place and original installer) to get a new one. Fortunately, Lowes said I only have to bring them the RA # and they will swap out the water heater. However, there is a $300 charge for installation. Whirlpool says they only cover this the 1st year, except when its a manufacturer defect. But they cant tell me how to prove its a manufacturer defect. Why else would a glass lined water heater start leaking only 21 months after installation?

I looked up these refrigerators after this all started and they have a 1 star rating. I should have done my homework on this.

Misinformation provided about their products - I ordered the Whirlpool 30 Drop-In Electric Range pictured in their literature with a gray oven door. When I had it installed, I thought it had a green film covering the oven door. It is not a film. It is the oven door color. It does not show that or talk about it in any of the literature. I would not have bought or paid to have this range installed. The green color does not go in my kitchen! I would sue them for misinformation if I had the money to spare! I will never buy another Whirlpool item.

Purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator July 29, 2015. Our first service call was August 4, 2015. The units freezer was frosting over, the basket rails were covered in frost, which made it hard to open. Items in freezer containers were covered in frost and labels unreadable. The interior light was frozen shut. Since the first service call we have had 8 service calls with multiple appliance dealers. No one can fix the frost issue. It just keeps recurring. Whirlpool did step up and extend our warranty for another year. In order to schedule a repair we have to call Whirlpool, a 45 minute phone call for an appliance company not of our choice to make the service call. The unit has been removed from our home for repair in dealers shop. Very inconvenient for us to have no refrigerator. Whirlpool has refused to replace the unit, choosing instead to patch-patch-patch one service call at a time. Whirlpool has enjoyed years of an excellent reputation. We are very disappointed. This is no longer true.

I bought a Whirlpool Dryer after reading an excellent review in Consumer Reports, despite it costing more than I wanted to spend. The first thing I noticed was a thump, thump, thump with every rotation of the drum. Then I realized that it took twice as long to dry my laundry as my 45 yr. old GE dryer, which only needed a belt, but which wasnt available anymore. I was disappointed in the Whirlpools performance, but that was only the beginning. One night when the dryer was less than 3 months old, I was in bed for the night and I heard the familiar thump of the dryer running. I went downstairs and could not stop it as it did not respond to anything on the digital control panel. I finally unplugged it. I called Whirlpool and they sent a new control panel, but I had to pay the service man.Not too long after that, the dryer heated up, but the drum would not turn. The serviceman said that it had come off track and he reset it. Shortly after, the door would not stay closed as the clamp that held it shut had fallen inside when I pushed the door closed. I replaced that. Then the drum continued to come disengaged because it was out-of-round. But, of course, the dryer was out of the 90 day warranty period too and a drum replacement would have cost more than the piece of junk was worth. So, I had it put back on for what I told myself would be the last time. Well, it was the last because the control panel went bonkers again and would go on by itself and only ran on one cycle if I plugged it in and unplugged it when it was done. I finally gave up and bought an inexpensive analog GE dryer which I never had any trouble with and dried the clothes in less time with less noise.

We purchased a brand new Cabrio washer and dryer in December 2010. We didnt move into the new house until February 2011 to start using the appliances. Last week, we called a repairman in to see what was wrong with the machine because it was making such strange sounds. He said it needed 3 new parts including a gear. The gear he took out was broken and gummed up with soap. We were told by an appliance salesperson that the water should never have been able to get to the gear. Parts were to be here by Tuesday of this week and the machine repaired. They called to reschedule yesterday. I called them this morning and they said the tub and another part would be delivered today, but the gear would not be sent out until September 12. This is a brand new machine which was obviously sent out of the factory with a defect. It doesnt clean properly and sounds like an airplane ready for take-off. I have never heard a machine this loud.We are going out and purchase another brand. My advice: Dont buy Whirlpool!Donna

Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in
Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in my 8-year-old water heater, I purchased a new Whirlpool model N50T61 replacement from Lowes. Installation went smoothly and the unit lit off fine the first time. It heated the initial tank of water rather quickly, but the next morning, I noticed the status light on the control unit was not blinking, which indicated the pilot light had gone out. I relit the pilot light, the water heater fired off and appeared to be working properly. 12 hours later, the status light was out again. I relit the pilot, but within 20 minutes, it went out again. On Wednesday, the 29th, I called Whirlpool customer service and explained to the representative what had been happening. He stated that since the status light was not blinking a code, the problem was either an air supply or venting problem, and he couldnt help me. I relit the water heater again and performed the match smoke test described in the owners manual on the vent connection. It did exactly what the manual said it should do, so I assumed that was not the problem. However, while performing this test, the water heater went out again. This time, being right there when it shut off, I saw the status light blink twice about 5 or 6 times before it quit blinking all together. The two blink error code indicated low millivolt signal from thermopile.I called customer service again and explained to the representative what the first person had told me and also told him the results of my test and that this time, I had observed the two blink error code. He asked if I had a multimeter (which I do), so he had me disconnect the wires for the thermopile, connect the meter to the wires, light the pilot and read the voltage. My meter is an old analog unit, and not capable of reading millivolts (which is what the thermopile output is), and I informed the rep of this, but he had me do it anyway. As I suspected, I saw absolutely no reading on the meter. The service rep stated that he believed the error code and decided to send me a new thermopile assembly. However, their shipping department was closed for the day and I should not expect to see the new part until Friday. This was unacceptable, but he stated that this was the only option available to me.After thinking about this situation for a while, I again called Whirlpool customer service and told the representative that I was not satisfied with the solution previously presented to me and that I wanted a return authorization to take the water heater back to Lowes for replacement. The rep stated he couldnt do that, but said that there were a couple other things I could try. He attempted to explain these procedures to me, but wasnt able to do so clearly. He stated he would email the instructions to me. As of this writing, I still have not received the instructions. In the meantime, I did some internet research and found that Whirlpool water heaters have numerous chronic problems, including the issues I was experiencing. I decided this was not a product I cared to own. I called the Lowes store where I purchased the water heater and spoke with the manager. I explained the entire sequence of events to him, and he told me to bring the water heater back for a full refund. Since my local Lowes store only sells the Whirlpool brand, I took the money and purchased a different brand of water heater from another home improvement store. Needless to say, it will be a cold day in hell before I ever purchase another Whirlpool product.

My house was built 20 years ago, with all Whirlpool appliances; built-in microwave over the electric oven, gas cooktop, and under counter dishwasher. The oven just gave out. Everything else works fine! Let me repeat that. I have a 20 yr old Whirlpool microwave that works just fine! Well, since the oven broke, we thought, maybe its time to update all the appliances. We went to the large appliance store from which our original ones came, and were told that all microwaves are now made in China by Sharp, and are crap!! Wed be lucky to get 3 years out of one. My jaw hit the ground. I couldnt believe the appliance salesman was telling us this! In fact, the appliance repairman that diagnosed my oven to be unrepairable ($100 trip charge, thank you very much) didnt have much good to say about the newer refrigerators... They contain much less Freon and dont seem to hold up as well... So, I guess Ill just keep my old appliances going as long as possible! How can appliance manufacturers stay in business!

We purchased the unit in March, by April it wasnt cooling. In June it shut down. In July after 8 tech appointments and repairs. Whirlpool finally said they would refund my purchase and I should see the money in about three weeks. That would be about a week longer than the refrigerator worked. I dont have the money to just get another one so I guess the family will be without a refrigerator for another month. That means shopping every day for perishable for a family of 10. I would not recommend another Whirlpool product. This is no joke, every time I called them one of the first things asked was Did you get the extended warranty? Why would they ask, sounds as if they dont trust their own product either. This unit was purchase online through Sears.com. Purchase price was $2299.99. Order placed on March 4, 2017.

I saw on the Today Show that my Whirlpool Duet washer, purchased in 2008 was a mold-producing nightmare. We are now part of a class action lawsuit that seeks redress. When I called Whirlpool Customer Service, I was fed the company line that the problem is that we dont clean the machine regularly. First whirlpool 3 door with ice maker in door failed in less than a year. Took 6 months to resolve issue, several service calls, at least 30 calls to Lowes and Whirlpool with little or no response. Nobody wanted to take responsibility to do something about my broken fridge. Even the authorized repair guy didnt want to touch it, didnt want to ruin his reputation because they wont stay fixed. Another service guy wanted to take it to the shop to repair, of course I would be responsible for pickup and delivery charge. Found out the repair was an in home repair, so didnt use that guy, I felt like he was trying to rip me off.I finally got to the right people in whirlpool organization and they replaced the fridge, that took another two weeks. I found everything takes two weeks. The replacement was supposed to be same model with upgrade, this is gold series fridge Ive been talking about. New fridge has failed also, seems like same symptoms. It lasted 1 yr and 4 or 5 months. I guess not too bad for a top of the line refrigerator, made by Whirlpool. Gonna give them a chance to make it right or I am considering hauling it around in my truck with a sign on it. Not trying to punish the distributor, just Whirlpool. This product is so bad the government should step in and force Whirlpool to give money back.

This is an energy efficient, expensive appliance that we expected to last for years and we feel that 2 1/2 years of service is unacceptable. We did not purchase an extended warranty and Whirlpool said they would help with the cost of parts - not labor. I Wish I had reviewed this refrigerator sooner. I bought a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser in the door in 2016. Problem #1: Water leaks from the water dispenser and dribbles down the front of the door. I am as vigilant as I can be about wiping up the spills, but over time it has left a water stain. Stainless steel is not stainless! Problem #2: The freezer is too narrow. Too many frozen items that come packaged in boxes have to be wedged into it or stood on end. Problem #3: Ice cubes sometimes randomly drop out of the dispenser and melt on my hardwood floor. Problem #4: Even though the water is filtered, mineral deposits have built upon the well that collects the drips and I have yet to find any product that cleans it. It looks horrible and filthy. If Id had any idea how awful this appliance would look after just a couple of years, I would have been in contact with Whirlpool immediately.

I am very reluctant with online product feedbacks. But here is one story that needs to be told. I purchased a Whirlpool 3D Split AC 2 years back (and hence the product is out of warranty). The product quality is so bad (and unreliable) that within 2 years the coils in the Outdoor Unit have started to leak. When I requested for service visit the technician (so called) came over and did a wet service and took the fee (without an invoice). And assured that the AC would start to work fine. Within a week we realized that the AC is not cooling enough. Again a service visit was called and this time the technician (supposedly) diagnosed the above problem. The repair cost told to me is to the tune of Rs 10,000/- for a product cost of Rs 36,000/- (or so) bought just 2 years back. Does anyone in Whirlpool understand what QUALITY means??? Does anyone understand VALUE FOR MONEY... This aside I have a 2 Tonne Whirlpool AC, 350 l Whirlpool DD refrigerator and a Washing Machine... I think its time for Move over WHIRLPOOL and HELLO MITSUBISHI, BOSCH, HITACHI... End of a great consumer brand...

No remuneration was offered. I bought a 3 burner glass hob under your built-in cooktop category (model no. AKCG 930-90 cm) in Nov. 2015 from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. In the month of April 2015 I started having problems with the medium burner. The problems was rectified on 29-4-2017 after some replacements that cost me Rs. 5000. After two months again the same problem occurred, the medium burner was not igniting again, I registered a complaint on 5-7-2017, the representative came and did some maintenance and left but the same problem resurfaced after a few days.I was fed up of complaining and started using the burner during necessity by placing a weight on top of the knob. Finally on 15th Feb 2018 while I was using the stove the glass top cracked into pieces. My experience of the companys built-in cooktop is horrible and bitter. Every time I registered a complaint the representatives used to attend the complaint after 2 weeks and that too after so many phone calls. I bought a Whirlpool washing machine, model WTW4855HW, and was I ever shocked at how noisy it was. The wash cycle had a grinding noise that was just too much. After 2 loads I sent it back and didnt regret having to pay the restocking fee. I just couldnt believe that with all the technology we have today, that they couldnt build a quiet machine. Im an engineer so I know there are methods through gearing, belts, soundproofing, etc, to produce a quiet machine. Remember the dishwasher of days gone by. You couldnt watch TV with the dishwasher going. Nowadays, you can stand in the kitchen and have a nice conversation with it running. The technology exists. On 1/24/12, I replaced a 15 year old water heater that had started to leak after years of faithful service. The new Whirlpool unit heated water to a tepid level only, and that was obtainable only after running several faucets at a time, full bore. I used the product manual to trouble-shoot and was unable to find the problem, so I called Whirlpool customer service and was told that I would need to have a plumber come and and inspect the plumbing before a technician could be sent to check the water heater. I was not very happy about that, but complied. The next day, a plumber inspected the lines and fittings, tested the pressure and agreed that the problem was likely a faulty water heater. That cost me $95.00. I called Whirlpool again. This time, I was told that I should have had the plumber call Whirlpool while he was still at my home! The customer service representative agreed to authorize a service call, and I was given the phone numbers of three companies to choose from. Apparently, I chose wrong. The plumber seemed experienced and was very friendly. He was at our home for about 40 minutes, made a cursory inspection and said the problem did indeed seem to be with the unit, and he would return to his office to contact Whirlpool and arrange for a replacement unit and he would call back. Tellingly, I realize in retrospect, he did not give me a receipt. After several hours, I called the company and was told Whirlpool had not yet called them, and if I did not hear from them soon, I should call Whirlpool myself. This seemed reasonable to me, and I did so, at which point I realized I had been lied to from the start. The Whirlpool representative said that the service technician stated that he had run an isolation test, obtained hot water from the water heater, advised the homeowner (me) that the problem was in the plumbing, and I possibly had crossed lines. She also told me that the technician had said that he had difficulty making the homeowner understand what he was trying to explain. A complete and utter falsehood. I asked her how an isolation test was carried out, and that I would call the plumber to see what was going on, as this was not what we had been told. I was livid and called the plumbing company back just in case there was some honest mistake. Of course, there wasnt. I would like Whirlpool to be made aware that the company that they contract with is disreputable and has a history of deceitful practices. I found many negative reviews, and in fact the sort of treatment I received seems to be their modus operandi, no receipt, never a call back, assure the customer their problem will be covered under warranty, misrepresent the the service performed. The reason I add this last statement is that at no time was the new water heater disconnected, drained, refilled and allowed to return to operating temperature; the so-called isolation test a process which Whirlpool told me takes about two hours. This test did not take place. I previously stated that the technician was only at our home for forty minutes. There was no test of water temperature. I have since replaced my water heater with another brand--it works fine and there were no plumbing problems! I thought the name Whirlpool meant something. I have owned quite a few Whirlpool appliances over the years, in fact my new washing machine is Whirlpool. But I am definitely disinclined to purchase this brand again. I am so disappointed with the service I received from Whirlpool, a huge waste of time and money, and I am out $95.00 for nothing. I think Whirlpool should reimburse me for this, as the original (honest) plumber was correct. My water heater was defective and should have been replaced at that time. If it had been, you would probably still have a customer.

We purchased Whirlpool AquaLift oven from Lowes 10 months ago. Since then, I dread each time I use the oven because I end up cleaning it by scrubbing and using different products because AquaLift cleaning is a scam. I have arthritis in my joints especially my neck, so cleaning it by sticking my head inside is a nightmare for me. I will try to call the company and see what is going to happen. I read that someone is suing Whirlpool for this product so hopefully they will recall the product or refund us if we return it.

A disaster from start to finish. I would give it zero stars if possible. Purchased from Home Depot online in September, 2020. The first delivery was scheduled for October 11, 2020 at 7am on a Sunday. I spent hours on the phone trying to get the time changed. I was assured it would take place later. That didnt happen. The delivery service Temco called at 6:30a and refused to come back later. I had to make a new appointment. A week later they delivered the dishwasher, left it on the porch, refused to uncrate it or bring it inside the house, refused to haul away the old machine and stole the Dishwasher parts kit that I had paid for which delayed installing the dishwasher. After the machine was installed I discovered the machine did not come with a manual. I was told I had to download and print the manual. When I complained that I should not have to use my paper and ink to print a users manual after paying $800 for a dishwasher. I was promised a check to offset my costs. I was supposed to get a credit for my inconvenience but that never happened either. The first time I ran the machine using the one hour cycle water was all over the machine and I had to dry inside. I was told that I had to use a longer wash cycle so I did the second time. After 4 hours of washing, the glasses had a film on them, even though I rinse the dishes before putting them in the machine the dishes had some debris on them and water had still collected on the top of the glasses.Whirlpool sent a repair company out and the technician said motor pump and display control were faulty and it would probably be cheaper to replace the dishwasher rather than repair it. I was told I would get an email the next day telling me what would happen. I never got the email. During the week I called Whirlpool and Home Depot many times to complain about the faulty dishwasher, stolen parts and the promised refunds for my inconvenience as well as having to print the manual. Calling Whirlpool or Home Depot customer care will take hours and gets you nowhere. A week after the repair person came out I called the repair company to request a report as to what had been done and was told that they were coming back out the following Monday to fix the machine again. Monday, The repair technician came out and replaced the control panel but not the pump. The machine wont heat up to dry the dishes--the heating coil wasnt even warm after being on for 8 min. I am supposed to be contacted again for a 3rd visit!! I have a dishwasher that is faulty (read lemon) and Home Depot wont allow me to return it because their return policy is 48 hours after delivery. Whirlpool refuses to replace it unless the technician says it cant be fixed. Obviously, that will never happen. I should have repaired my old dishwasher rather than waste my money on this horrible machine. Whirlpool used to make fine products but those days are over. How does running a dishwasher for four hours saving energy? My old over 10 year old Whirlpool dishwasher was perfect until the pump broke. The dishes were always clean, dry and came out of the machine hot and sanitized. I am so disappointed in both Whirlpool and Home Depot.

Water began accumulating on the floor, dripping out of the freezer 16 month
Water began accumulating on the floor, dripping out of the freezer 16 months from installation. Upon investigating I found the bottom of the freezer had a solid sheet of ice on it. Water was dripping out from the back of the freezer and collecting until it froze. I followed a YouTube video that explained the problem, the freezer drain clogs. The video continued with a how-to dismantle the freezer to defrost the drain and drain the water. Apparently the drain is too small and the fix is a new grommet which costs approximately $27.00. I followed the YouTube video and TEMPORARILY fixed the trouble myself. This is a Whirlpool defect, aka, poor design. What is Whirlpool offering to customers to permanently solve this problem at no cost?

Whirlpool dishwasher failed after 16 months. It leaks continuously. they sent a service provider 5 days later out to fix it, then said there would be a $129 fee for coming (this was never mentioned at time of appointment), and the total repair cost would be $208. I wasted a day waiting for repair person to come, I declined the repair due to the cost. I called customer service later, during office hours, and I received the poorest level of customer service I have ever experienced. Whirlpool will no longer receive support from the our family. This machine cost over $500, and a ruined rug. Whirlpool wasted our time, and a day from work. We will never purchase Whirlpool appliances moving forward, due to this product and customer service experience.

We have had 4 incidents where the burner would shoot up to high on its own even with the knob down at medium or low. 4 times in the last month, it has come close to catching fire while we were cooking. I have contacted Whirlpool about this issue and have yet to get a response.

Purchased the new dishwasher in 2009 through the builder of our home. I quit working completely like there was no power to it. We replaced the fuse to it and then it worked, but kept pausing during the cycle. Sometimes it will completely go off and then when the control panel comes back on, it sits paused until you push the button. We replaced the computer with a new one and it works even worse. It shuts down more often and still requires a restart. So frustrating! Appliances should last longer than a couple of years.

We bought a new Whirlpool Dishwasher. Installed it, wife used it for two loads. The third time she tried using it the door sprung and it no longer latches. After two weeks of calling Whirlpool, we finally had someone come out to fix it. After the repairman took a hammer to the frame he stated that it had been dropped. He wobbled the dishwasher back and forth with his hand. He said the frame will never be correctable and we will always have problems. After another week we got a hold of Whirlpool and were told the repairman has ordered parts to repair the dishwasher. Whirlpool is hoping it will hang together until the warranty expires. If the dishwasher were fixable that would be fine. However, when the repairman who has years of experience in his job tells me it will never be right and will always be a problem, I believe him.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio on October 27th, 2010. The Cabrio is always giving me the UL code, which indicates the load isnt in balance. Ive been doing laundry for 27 years. I know how to load dirty clothes into a washing machine evenly. Sometimes it will take me all day to do one load of laundry! Seven months after my purchase, my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine started giving me the F51 error code. I called the phone number on my Lowes receipt for warranty work. Two weeks later, I finally had my washing machine running again. I was happy and thought Id only have to deal with the UL code. Boy was I wrong?!Now Im two weeks away from my warranty expiring. Im getting the F51 error code again! This washing machine is an $800 piece of junk! Hopefully, I can get the Cabrio repaired before my warranty expires in two weeks. I do a lot of laundry. We are a family of six. So, I know Im hard on washing machines but come on. Shouldnt an $800 washing machine last at least two years? Im not even a full year into owning this junky washer and Ive had two breakdowns! In my opinion, this washing machine needs to be recalled and people need a reliable replacement or refund.

Bought in 2009 brand new set washer and dryer together at Best Buy. The washing machine in 2011 started its never ending problems. I’ve paid for parts & labor for the door lock sensor mechanism multiple times where I learned to repair that myself even buying parts and installing on my own last time... Then a drain pump went bad. Replaced that. Now a code f51 sensor to a motor rotor not spinning issue. Horrible. All the money and time in this unreliable machine is so awful. This thing also isn’t that great when it works too. Goes unlevel way too much having to redistribute and restart cycles all the time... Wish it washed better for the price and all the trouble. It is the worst machine. Has to be! Everyone I know can’t believe the fight I’ve had through the years with this machine. The company doesnt help you. Costly headache Junk machine!

We recently purchased a refrigerator from a reputable local appliance store
We recently purchased a refrigerator from a reputable local appliance store after months of shopping and comparing and research. As an opinion, Whirlpool seemed to set the standard for a quality appliance. Unfortunately, we failed miserably by buying this side-by-side fridge. Two unsolvable problems. First, the cold side door is extremely difficult to open. Ive tried ALL gasket lube methods and failed. Second, the stainless steel used on the front of the machine is obviously low grade that accepts magnets and is almost impossible to clean weekly without streaking. They were kind enough to provide us with their special cleaner {free} but it takes about an hour and a half to use for moderate success. The lady on the help desk listened but seemed rather cold and uninterested in the problems. At this point, we would be willing to pay the extra and go to a Kitchen Aid instead. Our advise is beware of these types of issues and get some kind of guarantee from your store when buying a WHIRLPOOL refrigerator. This is simply terrible.

I purchased the model WDF530PAYM0 serial: F14106104 dishwasher. The foremost reason I purchased this was it had nylon racks. I have discovered that the racks are rusting! It is rusting on the ends where nothing can touch it. I am very disappointed that it is advertised having nylon racks and now it is rusting and deteriorating. This dishwasher states racks-nylon, not racks-nylon coated. I just took some pictures of the racks. I decided to look underneath the top rack where the upper spray arm is located. Now I am plain sick! Most of the underneath is rusting. This dishwasher was purchased and installed 2 years ago. I paid $600 and you would assume that something mechanical would quit after years of use on an average of 1 to 2 times per weeks. Not this one...rusting racks and hard telling what damage the rust flaking off during running is causing to the mechanical components. Lesson learned: Their definition of nylon and nylon coated has no difference.....I very much disagree!

We built a new home at the beach to enjoy our retirement and the builder installed new Whirlpool appliances. As far as we are concerned this was the BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY WE HAD. Our appliances were under warranty for 1 year as usual and after 14 months things began to break. The latest is the ice maker in the French door fridge. After finding the diagnostics test online I ran the test and determined that the whole ice maker needs replaced. This ridiculous since the fridge is only a little over a year old. We even upgraded the fridge to avoid any problems. After talking to the people in our neighborhood we have come to find out that most people here have had trouble with whirlpool appliances.. I am ready to send these to the junkyard and replace them with a reputable brand (LG) that we owned before and were very happy with.. I dont understand if there is all these problems with Whirlpool products why the technical team doesnt fix the problem... Get parts from the USA NOT CHINA!!! My neighbor just told me he had the repairman at his house 7 times to fix his fridge and finally got a new one. Just got tired of the hassle and expense....

I contacted Whirlpool in regard to one of their water heaters we purchased from Lowes. It came with a 5-year warranty. At the end of 3 years, the lower element went out. Our plumber took the part back to Lowes, where he stated they normally just do a part replacement with them. On ours, he was told the owner would have to contact the manufacturer. I contacted them and supplied them with the plumbers bill and copies of the front and back of our canceled check, along with all my contact info. Their website states theyll get back with you within two days. I contacted them on March 13, 2013. Today is April 7, 2013 and they havent emailed, called or snail mailed me. After reading these consumer reports, the air has been let out of my balloon. No more Whirlpool products for me! Integrity in our country used to be extremely high. I purchased it in 2011 for $1100 Canadian. Smooth glass top and true convection. The controls were easy to use, and understand. What bothered me was that it stopped working just after the warranty ran out. I did my research, and found that the newer ranges that have the controls on top at the back have issues with the motherboard overheating, and causing this problem. I did speak to Whirlpool customer service, and managed to convince them to supply the replacement part at no cost. I paid my local dealer to install it. This repair lasted for just over 1 year. Same problem again. This time I could not convince Whirlpool to supply the part. FYI The part in question is the controller. Essentially a motherboard. All the controls are operated through this small computer. It is the only replacement part that costs over $100. Last I checked it was around $450 Canadian. The reason for the fault is overheating. According to the tech that fixed it the first time, it is the most common problem with this style of range. I find this concerning considering the only thing a range does is create heat!Keep in mind that you are virtually held over a barrel. There are only two companies that market their products under multiple names adding up to over 80% of the appliances on the market. They battle for that market by offering more bells and whistles, and less quality. The Range I replaced four years ago was 20 years old. I just replaced my Whirlpool 3 months ago. I went outside of the 80%, and bought a Samsung. Im rolling the dice, and went with induction top. My theory is it will produce less heat because it just heats the pot, not the stove top.Low quality drives me nuts. I want fewer bells and whistles, and more long lasting reliability. I should be able to go my lifetime and only buy two or three ranges. We really like the induction top. It works fast, and doesnt produce too much excess heat. Dual zone oven is a good idea. We werent looking for it, but there was a deal on. The dual zone induction range was only $50 more than the regular one beside it. Now my wife uses it all the time. She will have cookies in one zone, and a casserole for supper in the other. True convection is the other must have. It does a great job cooking everything evenly.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold from ABC Warehouse in Flint, MI, for $2099.00
I purchased a Whirlpool Gold from ABC Warehouse in Flint, MI, for $2099.00 before tax and it was delivered on 10/22/2010. Head-liner of inside of refrigerator has a crack about 3-3 1/4 inches long and the refrigerator is running more often. A repair tech came today, 10/14/2011, and did his job fine. He called Whirlpool and they stated to fix it with epoxy? The repair tech is ordering this. I called Whirlpool at 9:00 am right after the tech left at 1-800-253-1301 and spoke to Sherry. I explained everything to her in a very nice manner and she stated that according to the manual, they give us it is for repair only? I said, ok, could I please speak to her Supervisor and she said yes but it will be the same answer. I spoke to her supervisor, Lisa at 9:15 am, she came on talking about the problem and let me talk, I asked her on several occasions are you still there, and she said yes, her words were that Whirlpool only repairs nothing else for the year as per my paperwork (record). I said we dont even get this till after we purchase the item, I mentioned I had a Cabrio Washer and it was junk and had more service calls than any other machine I owned. I have a stove as well from Whirlpool it’s been good so far, I told her with service like this, and them knowing their liners are made of cost cutting saving materials as I have read enough complaints about this on the internet, that Whirlpool is eventually going under and so are the other small shops that do part work for them and their jobs will be outsourced to Japan, China, India and so on, I asked if there was another person higher up than her I could speak to and she said no, they’re not available at this time I snickered and said thats management for you. They have a customer service rep (call center complaints which is Sherry), then supervisor like you (Lisa) then some other management that dont want to talk to you. Way to go Whirlpool. I told her to document that I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance and I will definitely tell others and so on, and if we get enough folks to ban them they will leave USA or close and then Sherry and Lisa will be unemployed just like the rest of us in the good ole USA. Poor appliances for folks that can barely afford to make it and if you’re lucky and working like me and you buy something; shouldnt a refrigerator last more than this, and you stand behind your products? I also told her I know some are abused but this was not an abused product from me. It is a Whirlpool ‘cut your cost savings product’, and forgets the customer. Please look at the old appliances, I also mentioned I have an old Amana in my garage that is 17 years old runs great and never had a problem. And I gave her up for this piece of junk Whirlpool. I then told her I will write letters, emails and everything I can think of to ban this make and product. Model number of this refrigerator is GI7FVCXWBO, freezer on the bottom, fridge on top, side by side doors, solid black with ice maker. When I purchased this I bought it to last a long time as I had to finance it, and take from our monthly income. I had never had a nice fridge, but heck this is not nice. It’s a joke and the sad part is, I owe over $900.00 still and just got laid off. Thanks to the good ole USA and Michigan, but I will pay it off no matter what cause I pay my bills, and stand behind my name as a good person and citizen unlike Whirlpool. Boycott their products as they dont care about us or the American workforce. Oh, and this damage was not caused by abuse to the fridge - it was poor quality of materials in their products. Thank you for letting us complain about products! Also, it’s not like I can go out and buy another refrigerator as it took me over 18 years to get this one. Thanks WHIRPOOL for letting me down on another bad product but it will never happen again. Ive definitely learned and will teach others. Its just not fair that these big manufacturers can get away doing this to the poor people, maybe its like they say; corporate greed?

It is only 4 years old and I have had to have them come and replace the top of the machine. It has rusted around where you put the bleach, the soap. It leaks underneath the machine, its rusting on the bottom of the machine horribly. SO DISAPPOINTED!!! I guess things are not made with the same quality as years ago, but I will not ever spend my hard earned money on WHIRLPOOL AGAIN!!! I guess I will have to put up with this machine till I can afford to buy something else. VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER!!!
