This is the only time in my life when I have seen a Microwave behave so badly (and one that is relatively expensive). The microwave is defective out of the box. Seems like there is a comWhirlpool MWA269 (4You)mon trend with Whirlpool products and cheap Chinese boards. The microwave never stops working once the timer runs out. It will just keep going. Model is Whirlpool MWA269 (4You).

We purchased a cabrio washer about 3 years ago and have had trouble with coins getting into the drain pump and cracking it. We have repaired this at least 5 times and dont understand why the washer allows this to happen. Yes we do accidentally leave coins in our clothes but we have not had this problem with other washers. Clothes also have odor.

I am sorry to have updated that review 2 years later. Whirlpool has actually contacted me after posting on their Facebook support group. I am not sure how it happened but I was contacted by their executive team who is WAY more professional and efficient than their support team. In a matter of days my washer was replaced and installed by a new one - the closet available to the model I had - I did not pay a penny and no questions asked even though the washer was out of warranty. So my answer to you is when you are stuck do your best to talk to the executive team!

I purchased a washing centre at Canadian Appliance Source. I paid to have it delivered, installed and for them to take away my old appliances. I had several issues and when I called the store, they sent me to Whirlpool warranty who dispatched a repair technician a few days later. With nothing solved to my satisfaction, I called Whirlpool again. I spoke to a customer service rep who gave these responses, she put me through to a manager who gave me the same responses. When I asked to speak with someone above her, she said she could put me through to another person at her level but noone at a higher level.I want to hear the same response again? Really? Her only other answer was to email the Whirlpool Executive, which will be my next step. This is a summary only of my experience of the first few days after the purchase.Problem: The first load I washed was 1 set of blue sheets with 2 pillow cases. The water didnt seem to cover the load but I thought when it started to wash, they would get wet. When I took the sheets out of the washer, there were several dry spots and some kind of residue on several areas, so not washed or cleaned as expected. I tried washing one sheet, same thing. Tech solution: Put in some wet items to the load so the washer thinks the load is heavier and will add more water, or add a bucket of water to the load, Really? Whirlpool response: The washer is working as expected. Really? Problem: I did a warm water wash, expecting the machine to dispense a mix of hot and cold AT THE SAME TIME making it warm water. The washer starts with cold water then stops and puts in hot water. I dont want cold water or hot water on this load I want warm as recommended by the manufacturer! Tech solution:Dont use warm water wash. Really? Whirlpool response: Works as expected. Really?Problem: Dryer is way too hot on the delicate cycle, not good for delicates! Tech solution: Use the air dry cycle. Really? Whirlpool response: Dryer is working as expected. Really?Problems I didnt even discuss: The load is really really wrinkled when it comes out of the washer. Who wants to have to go back to ironing everything they own? The washer tub and dryer are really really small! I should have read more reviews and headed the warnings! Comments: I purchased online, biggest mistake. The store will not take it back. Whirlpool will not take it back. Hindsight is 2020! If I could have given negative stars, I would have.

I purchased a gas range with JDR8895 last 09/06/2007 at Home Depot in Metro Denver for approximately $1700.00. I will make my final payment on my Home Depot account next month. I was preparing dinner last September 10, 2011. I had the pans on the cooktop, one on the right rear and one on the left front burners. This was the set up because the right front burner has stopped working some time ago. Both burners were on a low setting as I was simmering pasta sauce and just warming water as I was later going to boil it for the noodles. I was in my living room when I started to smell something odd. When I approached my kitchen, there was a fire coming from the rear of the cooktop and beneath the three burner knobs. It smelled like an electrical fire. I immediately turned off the burners with my hand wrapped in a towel and started putting out the fire by hitting it with the towel and blowing. The towel caught on fire. I grabbed my fire extinguisher and was ready to spray when finally, it looked like it burned out. The smell in my home is terrible, when I tried to test the lower burner it looked like it was catching on fire underneath the knob as well, so i immediately turned it off and batted it with a towel. Im not sure what happened here. I will make my final payment on this range next month and had the previous range in here since 1977 and that still worked fine. I spent a small fortune on this Jenn-Air, only to have it catch on fire that could have potentially burned my house down.On various web sites including consumer affairs, JDR8895 has many reports of fires. If this is a known problem, why has it not been addressed as a recall? My 9-year old was making soup the day before while I was in the living room. This could of easily happened to her! It is a very dangerous situation to put your consumers in!Whirlpool Corporation contacted the appliance repair company, Columbine Appliances, to inform them that they would only be covering the cost of their visit and not the cost of the parts to be replaced in the range (the ones that caught on fire). Through Columbine Appliance, Whirlpool wanted to inform me that this is not a safety hazard and that it was my fault as I got water in the control knobs. This is not true. If I did, I was not aware and was unable to find any literature about that being a safety hazard or that it could cause a fire. I have found and have forwarded to the CPSC many instances of this exact problem, often when the range was not even in use and are happening to other consumers. I am working on combining the data, contacting the other consumers and have since refused service on the range by Columbine Appliances. Whirlpool only tried to contact me after I left them a message regarding the status of the range and that I had no interest in paying for what I viewed as a defect in their range and a safety hazard. I found a news story of this range going up in flames. Its unbelievable that this company continues to stand behind this product and blame these fires on the consumers actions. I am disabled and have an oxygen machine in my home. I have no desire to have this unit catch on fire again and potentially die, especially since water does, on occasion, end up on cooktops. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

I purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer 4 years ago and had no problems until recently. The motor and the harness broke and the cost to repair was almost as much as a new washer. The repairman told me that this is a common problem with all washers that Whirlpool makes as they have the same motor and harness. He gave me a list of all the brands that they make and suggested if I buy one to get an extended warranty. I would not recommend anyone buy an appliance from a company that continues to manufacture faulty products. I wonder if they own the extended warranty company?

Purchased my Whirlpool dishwasher in 2005 model number GU2500XTPQ3. So it worked for about 10 years and I am fairly happy with that but I have a warning, my control panel shorted out putting out thick black smoke and I was unable to turn off the dishwasher. I had to turn off the switch at the breaker box. If my wife had of been the only one home she would not have known how to turn it off and would have had to call the fire department. I dont know if the short would have led to an actual fire but with that much heat I have to believe it would have. Warning, dont run the dishwasher when no one is home. Hope this helps someone.

On October 29, 2009, we bought a new Whirlpool 30 gallon gas hot water heater to replace a Rheem we had for 20 years. We immediately had problems with the relief valve leaking, so we ran at the local hardware store and bought another valve. Next, we had trouble lighting it (husband was a plumber years ago) but a call to the hotline and we were in business. Now just over 3 years later, the pilot light started to cut off at will. Troubleshooting solved nothing. We called the hotline again and were given a part number, an authorization number and told to go back to Lowes for a replacement part. Figuring how our luck runs, I called first and was told there was no such part number. Trip saved. Now after reading all of these reviews, we have decided to cut our losses and buy another Rheem. You can find the Whirlpool hot water heater sitting beside our 2-year-old Kenmore HE washing machine (also made by Whirlpool) on the garbage pile. No more Whirlpool!

My oven was a lemon from day one. The light bulb would not light, the oven would not come on. Had the repairman in cause it was under warranty, he replaced the gas valve. A month later the same thing happened, the oven did not light. Have been putting up with this for a little over a year, it is finally off warranty. Same thing happens, you go to cook something and it will not light, then the oven door broke! We had to pay to have a new hinge installed. Whoever heard of a oven door breaking? I have had ovens 40 years old and they still work and the door doesnt break. Needless to say, my oven is still doing the same thing, lights sometimes and other times does not. Called Whirlpool several times, they are nasty and wont stand behind anything. Customer service says there is no lemon law for stoves. I will not ever buy another Whirlpool anything and that is not a threat but a PROMISE.

16 months after purchase, the machine starts displaying F71 codes, 6 weeks later F70. After calling Whirlpool customer service number on the User Manual, we were told that the washer was out of warranty and there was nothing that Whirlpool was going to do for us. I have a reasonable expectation that a brand new $800 washing machine will operate for many, many, trouble free years, but finding an electronic failure that has been estimated at $400 to repair, 16 months after purchase, is simply and obviously unacceptable. This is clearly a defect in design and/or manufacturing.

This 29.5 cu foot fridge will not keep a steady temperature and it has had 5 Warranty visits in its first 3 months since new. It has had several Large components changed out including the Freezer door, water valves, electronic boards, gaskets, and more. I was NOT able to get it labeled as a lemon and returned to Lowe’s simply because I accepted Warranty work to be done in the first 30 days which then disables any chance to return the unit. If I had asked for it to be returned in the first 30 days with the First bad issues I could have. Now I am stuck with it and I dislike the fridge and will never buy another Whirlpool or any other appliance from Lowe’s.

We bought our first Whirlpool 4 door about 4 years ago. Within the first 3 or 4 months the ice maker stopped working which was repaired. Then at 3 years the compressor went out and of course no cooling or freezing. Since we had bought this at Lowe’s they loaned us a fridge until ours was taken care of and told us to call whirlpool. When we called they said they would do nothing for us. Between them and Lowe’s we were finally able to get the refrigerator replaced by paying another $1,000. We have had the new fridge for a little under a year and the ice maker stopped working. While trying to get it working by their service repair people the cooling and freezer stopped working. The service people said the compressor is bad. We called whirlpool again they will not replace the refrigerator and said it will have to be repaired. The service company says compressors are on back order and don’t know when they will have one. All of this has been going on for 3 weeks at this time and who knows how much longer. I had to throw all of the food in my freezer away and as well as most of what was in the refrigerator. I am now buying ice every other day to keep some foods cool so we can have something to eat. We are 82 years old with a very limited income and find this very difficult to deal with. Whirlpool’s reply is sorry but they will not do anything since the fridge is under warranty.

Purchased this French door fridge with the freezer on the bottom in September 2017. Started having problems shortly after with the freezer not auto defrosting/ice damming on the evaporator unit in the freezer unit, which caused the fridge to warm up and food to spoil. Service came out several times and ultimately replaced the Jazz board 3 times, 2 harnesses in freezer, 1 Heater and the evaporator fan motor, with the same problem happening after a few weeks. Requested a replacement after the 3rd visit, but Whirlpool refused to back up their product. Sent service a few more times to no avail. Demanded a replacement once again. They sent a new service company out 15 months after our original purchase and they FINALLY deemed it non-repairable and are FINALLY going to replace it (turned out to be a broken wire inside the walls of the fridge, likely was like that upon delivery). So now we will have been put out for a total of 16 months for a fridge that cost >$1000. If Im spending that on an appliance I expect it to work properly or else be fixed/replaced in a TIMELY fashion. And the best part: they refuse to compensate us for any of the food that was lost due to a faulty product and very poor customer service! That was a lot of money lost because of their incompetence. If they had just replaced the broken appliance in the first place I would have been satisfied. But since they refused to do anything beneficial to remedy the situation, I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance again. And add in the inconvenience of scheduling a time to be home for multiple visits to greet the repairman. Oh yeah, plus our time wasted defrosting our frost-free fridge with a blow dryer to buy us time until it got repaired. Buyer beware!

I purchased a Whirlpool electric water heater from Lowe’s in 2007. It lasted 2 years until a faulty weld on the tank started leaking and flooded my basement. Whirlpool did replace it. However, my second water heater did the same exact thing in a different location on the tank after 2 1/2 years. It also flooded my basement.I am now on my third Whirlpool water heater in 5 years and the one I have now has a bad thermistor. It has cost me about $225 each time the water heater has been replaced. In my opinion, these Whirlpool water heaters are junk and their quality control needs to get out of the break room and start doing their job. Never will I purchase another Whirlpool appliance.

When I went to see what had happened I found glass shards all over the kitchen, some as far as 10-12 feet away. The outside glass of the top oven was spider-webbed and had apparently exploded. NOT Even a 1 STAR!!! We spent A LOT of money on a Whirlpool Smart wall oven combo. It has only been installed for about 2 hrs. My husband and I have been trying to figure out why all the features on the Whirlpool app aren’t working. Most of our home has smart features and is connected to our phones so it’s not the fact that we aren’t tech savvy. I finally gave up and decided I’ll call customer service line about it tomorrow when they open. It’s Sunday night so every number we call says it’s outside of business hrs. Then excited to turn on the oven for the first time I turn the oven on and the noise that the fan is making is so loud you can’t even talk over it. The oven has been off for 15 min now but the noise continues. 3000.00 for a huge disappointment. Not to mention the thing is HEAVY. So the thought of us having to remove it and replace it with another does NOT make us happy at all. Best Buy or Whirlpool WILL be the ones doing that. For the trouble and money spent that’s the least they can do. Also family is coming into town for the holiday. We made sure to purchase way ahead of time to be sure we had it, installed it and can use it a few times to get the new smell out of it. Very very upset, angry and disappointed. Now it’s been 10 more minutes and the loud broken fan still won’t even turn off. Now we have to shut it off at the breaker. At this point I don’t think we will be even exchanging it for the same product. I knew we should have bought a Samsung!

We bought a Whirlpool side by side at the end of August 2017. In March of 2018 - the day after I got the letter about extending my warranty - they had to replace the diffuser - it was making a horrid noise and freezing my eggs and milk. This part went again in July. I insisted they extend my warranty which they did - until March 2019. The part went again in November. I again demanded an extension - now it is guaranteed until June 2019. I asked about replacement and was told that as long as it was reparable they would not replace it. This part is dying every four months. The first few times I called, the hold recording touted a repair app - that did not give me much confidence in the company.

Ive had the WDF510PAY dishwasher for 3 years and the circulation pump broke. To be more specific the impeller inside the circulation pump warped and then basically got lodged because it became oblong and then it wouldnt pump water to the spray arms etc. I bought a new pump because the warranty only last a year. The pump cost around 90 bucks. After not even 1 full year this factory replacement pump failed again. I reviewed other Whirlpool dishwashers more expensive and I found they all have this same junky circulation pump. Im not sure of a better dishwasher but I would never recommend a Whirlpool dishwasher again. They also use the same circulation pump in Maytag and many other brands. Whirlpool or whoever designed and sold this pump to Whirlpool should be tracked down and beaten. Simple products like dishwashers should last more than 3 years. The technology is nothing new. A product should last 10 years at least.

WHIRLPOOL WTW5000DWO WASHING MACHINE TOP LOADING 2014 MODEL - I purchased this above model at Lowes of Hagerstown MD. The first problem I had with the washing machine was the spin cycle did not wring out the clothes. The second problem was the spin cycle caused the washer to start walking. The washer was leveled prior to washing the clothes also water was still running into the washer after it cycled off. I call Lowes the next day and told them my problems and they replaced the unit with the same model. The delivery came and I hooked up the washer and placed a few items in the washer and allowed it to cycle through. The washer did the same thing all over again. It did not spin the clothes out and the water continued to pour in the washer. And spun out of balance. I contacted Lowes and advised them I was having the same problem. I also told them my cousin had the same model and they were also having the same problem. Lowes offered to replace the unit with a different model so I selected Samsung washing machine and I have it scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Also I wanted to let you know that the price difference was 100 Dollars more for the Samsung and Lowes told me that I would have to pay the difference. I told them I have been inconvenienced twice and I will not pay the difference, they then call in the store manager and he override the difference. Lowes of Hagerstown will try their best to make it right, its sad that the mfg will not bring a product to the market that will do what it is advertised. The federal and state government should fine these companies and replace the defective models when reported. Do it right the first time and you wont have a repeat of the same problems. Also not use the consumer as a guinea pig to try out new products.

Purchased on 9/12 at Home Depot. Ice maker paid for as stated in ad for home depot, did not come with fridge. Tech needed for warm food, had to repair gasket. Tech needed for cracked handle. 6 calls for freezing food in fridge compartment. No resolve. Whirlpool wanted a 2nd opinion and another tech came deeming the fridge unrepairable. Not good enough for Whirlpool. After speaking to several customer service agents, they said they do not refund or replace, only repair. I have lost hundreds of dollars of food from freezing. My fridge is reading at 31 deg. This is way below what it is supposed to read at. No call from Whirlpool since last tech came. Their customer service is terrible and cold. Whirlpool Corp. was not any help either. You can see the problem with this model if you look up Whirlpool fridge freezing food in Florida, as a woman there called ABC news and they reported it. Bought my 5 door refrigerator from Lowes in December 2016. Was delivered in January. Had a dent in the door so another new one was ordered that arrived in late January. From day one the dual ice makers have not made enough ice for our family. I called Lowes to have it checked out thru warranty. The repairman came out and said Its making ice. I cant fix something that is not broke. He suggest I buy a under the counter ice maker. What the heck! I pay over $3000.00 For dual ice makers and still dont have enough ice to supply my family. Cant believe Whirlpool puts out a dual ice maker in a refrigerator and it cant even supply a family of 5. The repairman said a normal family size is 3. I dont know where he came from but to me thats not normal. He was from Tutor Appliance Repair and was very rude until he realized he pissed me off then he blamed it on Whirlpool. The refrigerator is beautiful but Id rather have my old one. It made more ice than this new one does. Will I buy whirlpool again? No I wouldnt. If they cant stand behind their product and what its suppose to do then I dont need it. Bad thing I have to deal with this one for a while until I can purchase a new and better one. If you have this refrigerator dont plan on having guest or family dinners it will not hold up for ice tea. Not to mention after dinner drinks. Model # WRV986FDEM01. SeriAL # K63817128.

This time there were other Whirlpool owners that also suffered with the same issue with the same model Whirlpool machine. Whirlpool Microwave WMH1164XWS-1 - Well, Im sure surprised that my almost five year old Whirlpool microwave failed to heat this evening. One minute it worked, next it didnt. All my appliances were Whirlpool and purchased ten years ago and replaced with newer models, even though I never had any repair issues. Guess they dont make them like they used to!

Outstanding, however our location has a hard water rating and as such we have to use a deodorizer to balance this out. A wide range of variables which are a fit for my purposes. Interior dimensions and layout are more than perfect for my uses. This particular dishwasher is built in so blends aesthetically into the design of the kitchen seamlessly. The product has a drying system which successfully blows air over the top tray to eliminate wet areas within depressions of crockery, glass, and so forth, its excellent. There is also a light steam setting which removes tough deposits from surfaces.

Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but
Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but problems (at least 7 problems). The 1st one is a potential fire hazard. Porcelain/enamel shattered on bottom interior panel of BOTH ovens in less than 60 days (exposing underlying metal to rust). Cracked in an odd stress-pattern that indicates the metal expanded during heating, and the porcelain finish did not tolerate the expansion. The lower oven had only been used 2X before I noticed the fracture pattern. Obviously faulty design; a manufacturers defect. Whirlpool claims it is cosmetic damage and when porcelain eventually flakes off, they will send me touch-up paint. (If I dent the outside of an appliance with my wheelchair, thats cosmetic damage. Its a manufacturers defect if the damage happens during normal operation. The appliance damaged itself, not the user.)The preheat function does not work on either oven. The oven indicates it is 350-degrees, when it is actually 125-degrees. Repairman says this is normal; ignore the indicator and navigate by store-bought thermometers”. The temperature can vary 50 degrees on either side of the actual setting (thats a 100 degree range!). Between the faulty preheat and the wide range in temperature, it makes it very hard to bake bread or cake. The rest are annoying problems: The timer is a single “beep” (not even very loud), followed by another single beep every minute. This is not much help if you are folding laundry while the cookies bake. The windows have so many dots on them theyre not clear enough to see how the food is cooking (or read the store-bought thermometers) without opening the doors. The oven produces a lot of steam that fogs up the windows (Ive never had this happen, and Im past the half century point). The exhaust fan is loud and it blows hot air into the drawer under the oven (another potential fire hazard). Dont buy this oven. It has several design flaws and Whirlpool does not stand behind their product.

We expected a much longer life in a brand new refrigerator. Our extended warranty plan has not provided a replacement or comparable credit for a new refrigerator. May 4 I ordered a washer and it was to be delivered on the 21st and on the 20th a salesperson calls me to say my ordered washer is out of stock and she gives me a substitution washer that wont ship to me until june 20th a month away even though I already had been waiting a month, I was very upset and said, I wont accept it but let me think about it, I thought there must not be anything sooner (BIG MISTAKE). So I called back and accepted but after getting off the phone looked online and found a washer that would be delivered on May 28th and it was just delivered no problem but now no one at WHIRLPOOL can find the subbed order to cancel and give me my refund from the out of stock washer... So I have paid for 2 washers and every time I try to get help I have an hour wait to get a person. I am a 65 yr old woman who has been put thru so much stress and it is not good for my health. All I want to do is cry.

When it overflowed because the system failed to detect the water temperature, called and they sent in the temp sensor (I paid for shipping). Had plumber replace it. One day later the same thing happened, called and they sent in a board. Same exact thing happened. By this time, Im without hot water for over 2 weeks in dead cold January on the East coast. They will replace the water heater but only a 50 gallon NOT the 80 because they no longer manufactured the 80. Option given by Lowes is to add a recirculating pump to give additional gallons. But, of course Whirlpool said NO. They only can give me the 50 gallon. What a ripoff!!! Please, please DO NOT purchase any product from Whirlpool. Now they change the same to A.O. We purchased our washer approximately six months ago. It is an energy-efficient top loader without a central agitator. If I wanted a washer just for lingerie then I would be satisfied. But I need a washer that will clean farm clothes. My husband works hard and his clothes show it. This washer does not clean them. I even tried putting very few items in at a time. They still arent clean. I have to take my heavily soiled laundry to the laundromat. My other main complaint is the baffling feature of a lock mode. I spend countless minutes standing by my washer waiting for it to unlock so I can toss in an extra item or add fabric softener, etc. When we removed the latch, the washer didnt work at all. Replaced the item at a cost of $40. Infuriating!

I have a Whirlpool GoldSeries dishwasher and I wish I had never bought it. I’ll start with the cons because I don’t think any other dishwasher on the market matches this: After 3.5 years either the motherboard or the motor is trash. It will cost so much to fix it that buying a new dishwasher is a better option. I paid more than $800 for the dishwasher + $200 for the install + $75 for the service call to find out it is garbage. I used it about 2-3 times per week, which adds up to about 455 uses total for the time I used it. This shows that the cost of this dishwasher, without operational cost considered, is $2.36 per load (or $307.14 per year if you prefer). No other appliance I have ever owned was as expensive, over its lifetime, as this dishwasher.Whirlpool customer service was difficult to get a hold of and then obstinate and useless. The dishwasher would stink if it was not cleaned regularly. Pros: It is quiet and it cleans the dishes well. Recommendation: Do not waste your money on this. Many other dishwashers are quiet and clean dishes but not many will be this big or expensive. A disappointment over their lifespan.

2010 upright Whirlpool freezer - Door is totally bubbled in rust. Warranty Plan not covered for this. Whirlpool Corp Serv. Dept said they are sorry but it is not a functional problem. Cost of repairs on 3-yr-old freezer that cost $600.00 would be $732.62. This freezer was rated CR Best Buy in Sept 2009 which was why I purchased it. I paid $81.00 for repair tech from Whirlpool today who could do nothing either. Very disheartening to know that an established company such as Whirlpool does not stand behind their products or acknowledge known product defects. Based on the quantity of complaints logged on this site alone, Id think a recall would be required. Identical to other consumer posts within, we purchased the Cabrio Platinum washer/dryer set (WTW8000BW0). Exactly 24 months to the purchase date, jet planes began flying through our home with the noise concentrated in the laundry room. The dryer has been fine; however, the washer is a whole other issue. The bearings are shot (as many users have cited) and the noise is deafening... even with the laundry door closed, TV on high, dogs barking and flurry of activity in the kitchen! We made a switch to the Whirlpool brand 2yrs ago due to reputation and longevity. Ooops. Lesson learned and $700 out the window. Back to GEs. If youre reading this and concur with our review, just remember... customers always have a choice! Unfortunately, Whirlpool will figure this out the hard way. Just like other iconic brands... Smith-Corona, Blockbuster, Polaroid, Nokia, Saturn, Pontiac/Oldsmobile, Sony and many others. There is typically a reason a company offers tremendous sales incentives (price cut, rebate, special financing) to unload products. We found out why. Thanks for the memories Whirlpool!

My new ACCU-BAKE oven was not baking properly. Always uneven results. Finally called for service, just in time before the warranty expired. The service rep informed me that I had not bought a convection oven. Well, duh! Of course, I knew that! He tested the temperature levels inside the oven and found a variance of 10 degrees Celsius, which he reported by phone to the company. He advised me to reach into the oven half-way through any baking process to turn my cake around, and it would bake evenly. I asked him if he had ever tried that himself. No, he said, he was not a baker. That was the end of the service call. No follow-up, no service. Today I learned that the company actually has this exchange in its records, but if I want to get the oven to work properly Ill have to pay for service, as the warranty has expired. I wonder what would happen if I ever tried the self-clean or Sabbath mode features on this oven.

I purchased Whirlpool french door refrigerator wrf535smbm00 at the beginning of this year and it has really made my house an unpleasant place to be. My main complaint is that it is very, very loud, and seems to vibrate through the whole house. It runs most of the time at a level of 60 dB, which might be considered a low noise level for a mechanical appliance that runs occasionally like a dishwasher, but is quite loud for an appliance that, according to their own specs, runs at least 40% of the time. Nobody wants to notice their refrigerator. They just want it to work.Which brings me to my second complaint, the temperature control is all over the place, generally ranging from 25-50 F. I find it difficult to believe that the government, which always seems overly concerned about the temperature of restaurant food, or the pasteurization of cheeses doesnt care that an appliance nearly every American household has doesnt necessarily do its job, and isnt required to display internal temperature. The old-fashioned set this dial to an arbitrary number and hope its cool enough is not charming. Finally, though the finish is listed as stainless steel, mine started sporting tiny rust spots after only three months. Whirlpool states that Cosmetic issues are covered by the manufacturers warranty for the first 30 days of ownership only. After the first 30 days any repairs for cosmetic issues are the consumers responsibility. It seems as though they know theyve used a low grade of stainless steel.

I placed a service call for a high pitch sound that emanates from our new Whirlpool refrigerator MD#WRF990SALM00. It is hardly perceptible although hurts my wife and Is ears. The technician was courteous and efficient although said that the sound was typical of this model. He did find another issue with condensation forming at the top and returned with the repair part in a timely manner. I placed another call to Whirlpool whom suggested that I order a different authorized service company to investigate although if the results of the call was that it is a typical sound of this model that there would be a service call charge. On December 21, it became clear that I needed to replace our 13-year old Rheem water heater. We decided to buy one from Lowes, 36 miles away and have a handy man install it. He installed the new Whirlpool 50 gal gas water heater with a 12-year warranty on Friday, the 22nd, but could not get it to stay lit. He called Whirlpool to troubleshoot. They said it could be one of two parts and that they would ship the parts on the Monday after Christmas. He asked who would install and they recommended a local plumber. He called that plumber but they indicated they did not do Whirlpool warranty work and would have to charge. On Monday, I called Whirlpool and was assured the parts would be shipped that day for overnight delivery. I confronted them about the local plumber not doing their warranty work so they set up an appointment with a company called A&E for Wednesday morning. On Tuesday morning, I called Whirlpool to get the tracking number on the parts and was told that they did not get shipped on Monday as promised but would be shipped that day, arriving by the end of the day Wednesday, too late for the appointment for installation.By Tuesday night, my wife got on this site and was appalled to read the numerous identical complaints. I decided that Wednesday morning that I would hire a plumber to remove the Whirlpool and install another so we would not have a lifetime of problems from Whirlpool. The plumber installed a different water heater. It started right up and we have had no problems since. I got an R or RA number from Whirlpool which I think they only gave me because the parts had not arrived on time and I returned the piece of ** to Lowes for a refund. I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 1.5 years ago and it has already died. Repairman need to replace the control board which had gone out. $450.00 to replace that piece, but could not guarantee that it would be the only problem. The motor or some other issue may have caused the board. This machine was purchased at Home Depot on sale and at $450.00 to repair would be approximately 70% of the original price. It will be cheaper to buy a new one rather than fix this one. We were not happy with this machine in the first place. It leaves the clothes stained with a white powder that never rinses off. The cycle time is very long, up to an hour to wash a load. The clothes are still very wet once the cycle is finished, which of course increases the drying time. I cannot recommend Whirlpool top loaders after my experience with this machine.

We bought our Whirlpool Refrigerator a little over three years ago. Within a few months we started having problems with the unit. From ice maker issues, cooling and freezing. Initially the frig was covered under Whirlpools 1 year warranty. Then our extended 3 year warranty kicked in through HH Gregg which they supplied for free because of their poor handling of the initial sale. We have lost track in how many times a repair man has come out to work on the refrigerator. In the last year alone its been at least 8 times. The most recent problem had been the freezer not defrosting properly to the point where we had to store food in our neighbors freezer. The repairman has tried everything he knows and is stumped. Well our extended warranty has run out but theyll continue to work on the problem as long as we report the issue within 30 days which creates a whole different set of issues. The extended warranty states they will replace the refrigerator if it has the same problem 3 times. However what they dont tell you is that if you call BEFORE 3 time period its considered a recall and that doesnt count towards the 3 strike rule. We contacted Whirlpool and they wont cover the refrigerator because the repair company isnt on their approved list. Really a Sears repairman isnt approved? So buyer beware of a lemon Whirlpool Frig! They seem to have a way of not covering their product.

We purchased the Whirlpool Gold Series smooth top stove from Lowes in December of 2013. The stove is not even 2 years old and it doesnt work. Last September, I noticed a few times that while baking food in the oven, it was burnt after only 10 minutes, due to a runaway temperature. After that, the oven wouldnt heat up properly, it would take too long to bake anything because the temperature wouldnt reach the reading on the display. Then it just stopped baking or broiling all together with the error Feature unavailable. Weve had a serviceman out at least 3 times. Of course, the warrantys run out and its cost us close to $500 to keep fixing it, and two motherboards and a bottom element later, its still not fixed. We purchased our basic Whirlpool refrigerator model # WRT318FZDM05 from Lowes on September 13, 2019. We bought one of the more basic models available because we have owned higher end fancier refrigerators which have had multiple problems and not worked. So this is the 18.2 cubic feet top freezer model. About six weeks after owning it (conveniently just past the 30 day return window at Lowes!) we began to notice that our freezer wasnt freezing properly or making enough ice. There is only one control panel in this basic fridge so we turned it up. While this cranked up the freezer, the refrigerator compartment began to freeze its contents. So we had to choose between soft serve ice cream and refrigerated eggs and milk or hard serve ice cream and frozen eggs and milk! Finally after the holidays the certified Whirlpool appliance technician came out and recommended a repair with replacement of start device and control board. His report: Freezer not freezing, found the compressor turning on and off. The refrigerator was not even 4 months off the floor and the problem began when it was only 2 months old! When you call the Whirlpool number heres what they say: Welcome to the Whirlpool customer exp. For over a century weve believed in everyday care. Lets see how we can care for you today.Well, when someone calls with a very recently purchased refrigerator whose START DEVICE and CONTROL BOARD no longer work properly that person should be able to return the defective appliance and get a new one. Nope. Not with the Whirlpool experience. You are told that youll have to wait and see if those devices which are ten days away from being replaced in your new refrigerator will fix the problem. So basically NO do not buy from Whirlpool. Turns out a century of everyday care (??) hasnt taught them much about how in this century people need a refrigerator that works everyday!!!!

The service tech said the boards are a common problem. Two years later, when using the self-cleaning mode, the door was locked and the board was out again. Whirlpool responded with, This is normal... when the cracks break through, then there is a problem. What?! I have been cooking for over 50 years and have never had this experience before. This product is under warranty. By the time it cracks through, it will be too late to do anything about it. Since when is crazing on the oven bottom natural, especially after only a very few times used? This is defective and Whirlpool is shirking their warranty. I am very dissatisfied.

I purchased a 50-Gallon Electric Water heater in 2006, sure it lasted and worked well for quite a few years; however, in August 2014 my power bill started to rise dramatically, I live in Arizona and $300-$400 power bills are the norm in the summer months; however, a $700.00 bill will immediately be noticed. I contacted the power company and they sent a tech over who performed a lengthy diagnostic and determined that my water heater was running constantly thus accounting for the great increase in power, I contacted Whirlpool and received 2 heating elements (no charge) which my pricey plumber replaced. The problem still remained and I contacted Whirlpool again and again trying to get this issue resolved. I paid less than $400.00 for the heater installed and since Ive been having the issue Ive almost paid another $400.00 in labor costs trying to get a resolution. Ive decided to get another system and my only reason for posting this is to inform all that the Whirlpool heaters seem to be very problematic, like others Ive had plumbers decline my business when I inform them that I have a Whirlpool tank with the Energy Smart module.

We bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer set (Cabrio WED7300XWO) 2 years ago. Within that time, the door seal fell off and needed to be replaced. The drive belt pulley became detached, and now the drum seal has fallen out and had wrapped into the clothes. I have never experienced such a substandard product. We would trade back this one for our 15-year old set we had replaced it with at the drop of a hat. We are retired and have a summer home, and only use this product 4-5 months a year. Never again, Whirlpool!

Lid lock fault started about 3 months ago, googled fix and found this to be a very common problem with this brand. Have been able to override and reset it but it is very frustrating to deal with. Called in a repair person this morning who, for $140 told us we had a faulty lid lock and for $360 he would replace it. I contacted Whirlpool and asked if they were aware of this very common complaint (just google it) and they were not but offered to make a record of mine. Please do not buy Whirlpool. Very disappointed with their product and their response.

My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine in 2013 (Model Number WTW8600YW1). It never filled properly with water. It evolved to a sensor and circuit board issue that Whirlpool never totally remedied. Hence, the machine never worked properly. This 800 dollar purchase on an elderly persons limited budget had to be utilized minimally. Now fast forward in 2015, even with minimal usage and white glove handling, the machine is displaying an F51 error. You guessed it, Whirlpool will not remedy the issue, although it is well-documented to be a widespread complaint hence clearly a product defect. Shame on Whirlpool, their business practices, and what amounts to theft of an elderly womans finite income. I have advised my mother to trash the useless Whirlpool appliance and purchase a Kenmore washing machine, of which I have been the proud owner for 10 years, doing laundry for a family of 5.

Wife and I bought a WRF990SLAM00 fridge in 5/2013. Seemed like the nicest model Lowes had at the time. The first one delivered had problems: it wouldnt stand level or seal properly, and had to be replaced. Another unit was delivered a few days later. This one - the same model - worked very nicely, for a year and a half. A few days ago, it got loud. My wife noticed in the freezer, some things were beginning to thaw. We called Whirlpool, who said, Oh, its over a year, and youre out of warranty. Sorry! Ok, so they suck. After we had a technician examine the freezer, he suggested, This is something Whirlpool needs to address. It wasnt the first (or fourth) problem with this fridge that hes seen. Called Whirlpool again, this time to gripe. Sorry, youre more than a year, so no warranty BUT, well sell you a service contract for $330! Hows that sound? It sounds like Whirlpool just disqualified themselves from ever getting their hands on another dollar from my family. Theres too many other companies who DONT treat their customers like garbage.

Where to begin? I bought Whirlpool Duet Front-Load Washing Machine about 11 months ago after my top load bearing went bad and start making a lot of noise after 8-9 years. 4 months ago (6 months from purchase) it started to act strange; washing machine will not unlock after a cycle, start throwing F3E1 error. Thats when I first called their support service. Their service technicians are very nice actually. They seem to be local small appliance shop, contacted out by Whirlpool, from my guess. Initial visit was to inform me that Im using WAY too much soap, while I was only using well below what was recommended by Whirlpool manual. RED FLAG #1. Technicians told me to stop using too much soap or start using POD. Also to flush my washing machine with 2 cups of white vinegar in hot cycle every few weeks. Ive changed my soap to Tide POD and starting flushing my washing machine immediately after he left my house. It was running OK, but I still saw F3E1 error at the end of every other cycle, until... thing went really bad one day, it simply stopped responding any command while clothes was still in the washing machine. I unplugged power cable and plug it back, it hums for 10 mins and in the end it was the same result. After several attempt, it finally unlocked itself, thus I could wash my clothes at my parents house. This is when I called support service 2nd time. The same technician came and this time, I had video recording of everything. He could not dismiss this with simple soap theory, so he opens up the washing machine and tells me that its due to bad control board. He proceeds to order new control board, which took a few weeks. New technician comes back with new control board and installs, runs a few test command (not full cycle) and leaves. During this whole time, Im left with no washing machine at home. Good thing I travel sometimes and laundry is done remotely sometimes. This repair didnt improve the situation much. I called them back for another appointment. Another technician comes back and tells me that Whirlpool sent back BAD control board. Now, Im really suspecting their product is really piece of **. At least at this point, I was still happy with their service. He leaves my house claiming that they will order new control board and re-install.A few days later, I receive a call from a lady, claiming that Whirlpool has instructed them to ask me to use different outlet, since they believe my outlet is causing issues. Now Im really pissed. Coming from electrical engineering background, I know theres always any chance, but they should double check this with their own technicians. Anyways, I perform their recommendation, which I knew was a shot in the dark. During this whole ordeal, Im working on a project that are out of state (CA). Not only do I have time to stay home for all these service visits, but Im not even home to test my washing machine. During one of the holiday, I was able to take a few days off. This is when I decided to take different approach. I went to the retailer, whom I purchased my washing machine from. They were also nice, but theres so much they can do.I called Whirlpool direct line to explain my situation, how unhappy I was, and to replace my washing machine. Their response was by the book: We can only execute our warranty policy and replacement is not part of warranty. The representative specialist had enough nerve to ask me why I have not called back in several weeks and continue to repeat it as if its my problem for not reporting back. I had spent 2 months of supports and 4 site visits, where I had to reschedule my work or take a day off, before travelling for projects after holiday seasons. This representative really took customer service to next level of hell. In the end Im without properly functioning washing machine for 4 months. I have to coordinate with my parents to use their washing machine when Im back home. My advice, you should really think 3 times before buying Whirlpool washing machine or any other appliance. Also consider that youre on your own, when their product malfunctions, and youll be sitting on dead appliances.

Purchased Refrigerator (WhirlPool Refrigerator WRX988SIBM03) 16 months ago and noticed the drawer with glass that house the drawers had a crack on the right side. Couldnt believe it was cracked after such little use with just two adults living in the home. Removed it and noticed this was such shoddy design. There is a heavy metal bar in the back with a piece of flimsy plastic that attaches to the heavy metal bar with only a screw attaching the plastic to the metal.I made attempt to glue it since it was only cracked but then the plastic just started crumbling into pieces like a broken cookie. Truly there is something wrong with the quality of the product as well as the design of having this heavy metal bar attached to this flimsy plastic. The quality of this part only leads me to believe what is next with this refrigerator. I am sure there is more to come.I contacted Whirlpool to see if they would replace but of course this is at my cost. Ive had inner parts of refrigerators break over years of use and they get old and busted up over time but this is a new refrigerator and once I inspected the part, I was disappointed with myself for not removing these inner parts and inspecting prior to purchasing. I would have picked up on the poor quality right away. Taken by the outside of this unit and its beauty, and not truly looking at whether or not the shelf can hold a couple gallons of milk. I am here to tell you there is no way this would have withstood the test of time with only a gallon of milk sitting on this unit. Poor design, poor quality and metal attached to raw plastic as it is a disaster.

I will never buy another Whirlpool again or recommend them to anyone, and discourage anyone from buying one. I bought a Cabrio washing machine just over 2 years ago and yesterday I received an F51 error code. The manual says that this code requires a technician to come a check for repairs. Well, before I do anything I google the problem, and lo and behold there are thousands of complaints about this issue with the Cabrio models. Some saying that what needed to be replaced were a control board ($280) and a rotor (unknown amount), not including the price of labor. Some said that Whirlpool knows about this problem and they covered the parts and repair. This didnt get my hopes up, but I called customer service and of course they said that there were no reported issues with the model and that what I found on the internet was probably an older model. Of course! The lady on the phone told me that they would not cover the costs and it would be anywhere from $300 to $500 depending on the route I wanted to take. That is a 1/3 to 1/2 the price I paid for the machine. This is ridiculous! I am tempted to just get rid of the washer and go with a better company that actually cares about their customers. This error code was definitely something they know is a big deal if there was nothing I could do about it other than call a technician. I paid almost $1000 for a machine that has barely lasted 2 years before I have to pay money to have it fixed. Not a company I would ever purchase anything from again!

I have a 3 1/2 year old 9400WFW WP washer with a 70 error code. After viewing complaints on various websites, it appears this is a large scale problem with Whirlpool Duet owners. I just got off the phone with WP customer service and explained how many complaints are out there for F70 code error, yet they do not have a recall on this part! How can this be justified? This is a non-mechanical part of the washing machine. The life expectancy should be more than 3 years. My washer is not overused as there are only 2 people in the household. I do not want to pay the cost to repair this. I think WP should issue a part recall on this model. Does anyone know how to find out how many replacement CCU or CPUs have been purchased in relation to the number of 9400 WFW sold or if there may be a chance that WP needs to reconsider a recall?

I purchased an Electric Whirlpool Aqualift convection range in November of 2012. This product is garbage! The oven doesnt work well (temperature is always off), the Agualift cleaning method doesnt work well. You have to self-clean to clean it. The most troubling problem is that just after a year of owning it, the finish on the control panel started to crackle. I called Whirlpool, and all they can do is send me a replacement part for which I have to pay for and have installed. My last GE range lasted over 15 years. This range is garbage from day 1. I purchased a new water heater in August 2013. The pilot light started going out in October/November of 2013. After calling the Tech Support phone number, (877) 817-6750, I was advised to clean the burner screen. First this is very difficult to do because the burner screen is underneath the water heater and almost impossible to access. Second the closet the water heater is in did not show any signs of debris that could clog the burner screen. I did as they recommended. Several calls, and several weeks later, they finally authorized a technician to come and service water heater. He performed a cleaning even though he couldnt find anything to clean; and he replaced the control module. The new control module worked through the spring and summer seasons and then I started having issues again in the fall, late October. Started calling the same phone number and was told again to clean the burner screen. I convinced them to send out the technician again. The A and E Factory technician came out and only cleaned the burner screen and left before I had a chance to get home. This happened several times and I called Whirlpool every time. The next A and E technician told me to try changing out the draft vent chimney to a different size, which I did. Problem happened Again! I finally asked for another plumber and they sent me 3 names of their authorized plumbers. I called Phil, Philco Plumbing. He told me that I needed to have more ventilation, so I added more ventilation, even though I later found documentation stating I already had more than what was required by the manufacturer. Again, a week later, started having problems. Call back and asked to have my personal plumber come out. This time the rep told me that I have always been free to choose any plumber I wish (why wasnt I given that option the first 10 times I called?). My plumber came out and replaced the control module and the thermocouple, but wasnt convinced that these were faulty parts, he honestly couldnt figure out why I am having this problem, but it was worth a try. That lasted about 1 week and now I am having the problem again!!Whirlpool will FINALLY authorize a new water heater, but they will not authorize installation for the new water heater. I have already spent money on recommended repairs that have not worked. I have taken 15+ hours off of work to watch plumbers do nothing that has rectified my problems. And now Whirlpool wants me to deal with installing the unit myself, OR pay to have it installed! They say they wont cover installation because I purchased it more than 1 year ago. They seem to be missing the fact that I have had trouble with it the ENTIRE time I have owned it!This Flame lock system is garbage. I found on Consumer Affairs that a few years ago a class-action lawsuit settled, dealing with the same issues. I think it is time for another round! I KNOW that I am not the only one dealing with this problem because the plumbers I had out all had similar complaints from many of their clients. Whirlpool wont fess up to the problem, but the problem is real.

The interior features such as turntable, etc are very cheaply made. As is the case with most Whirlpool appliances, this one is way over engineered to focus on appearance and gadgetry. This is not a good microwave for a serious cook who prefers that the design focus on functionality and ease of operation.

Our just over 1 year old Whirlpool washer died completely last month (mid May). After calling them and being directed to the extended warranty dept (which we ended up purchasing), a repair guy came out and told us it was our main controller board. Three days later, he returned with the board and nothing. We were then told it was the user interface. They were on backorder until June 5, which means our machine would be out of commission for three weeks. I just received another call informing us the part was now on backorder until June 15. Whirlpool, on what planet is it acceptable for your appliances to be out of commission for six full weeks? Never again.
