I purchased this rather expensive gas range and use the oven very little. We are empty nesters that eat out every day. Went to use oven and it had error code for cooling fan. Called repairman who replaced sensor and oven worked (literally used two times in 4 months). Now error code again. When I checked the code I realized this is a problem with these stoves. Whirlpool why no recall or free fix?

I want to make this clear I’d give NO stars if I could!! Whirlpool is totally junk!! I bought a whole suite of Whirlpool kitchen appliances from Home Depot that is a dishwasher, stove, and fridge. The dishwasher never cleaned the dishes, always left a film on everything, cant clean out the drain area, the screens don’t come off and less a year later the dishwasher top rack literally fell off and broke all the glasses that were loaded in it and the fridge keeps freezing all my food!!! I keep having to adjust the thermostat up down up down just to make it doesn’t freeze. Now that the warranty is no good on any of the crap I will no doubt be charged an arm and a leg to get it fixed, which definitely won’t be worth it!!! Whirlpool is such crap!!! Made in America no wonder!!! Don’t buy any whirlpool anything!!! You will be very VERY disappointed!!! I’ve bought plenty of brand new appliances. Bosch is by far the best dishwasher even the cheaper ones. Now I have to pay to dispose the whirlpool crap!!! I am sure whirlpool doesn’t give a crap though!!! They will keep selling their crap, but don’t Buy it!!! You will be soooo disappointed!!!

I purchased my Whirlpool refrigerator from Whirlpool guest system (online)
I purchased my Whirlpool refrigerator from Whirlpool guest system (online) in 2010 for around $1,160. Recently, it stopped dispensing water from the dispenser. I called the Whirlpool certified A&E serviceman to repair the dispenser. He concluded that the water line is frozen inside the door. He also stated that such issues with the door shouldnt happen for at least 10 years. He gave me a bill of $920 to replace the door. I called Whirlpool and they declined to pay for the repair as it is out of warranty. I feel that they sold me a faulty refrigerator and they should pay for this expensive repair. With $920, I can probably pay for a new refrigerator (not Whirlpool, of course). I am completely disappointed by Whirlpools customer service and poor quality of their product. This company, I believe, is more interested in selling crappy products, make profit and not provide good customer service. Shame on you!

This was a substitute for model I actually wanted, I was told the one I would receive was the newest model version of the model I wanted. What that meant was it was the stripped down version. It does not get clothes clean nor does it spin/balance the load which causes it to walk around the room. It is only 9 months old and I need a repairman.

My Whirlpool refrigerator, model number ET8MHJKXM005, constantly leaks water into the bottom inside of the refrigerator. Its only 4 years old, for crying out loud! I have a repairman coming over in a few days who tells me the newer Whirlpool refrigerators are notorious for having the drain ice up. Why would Whirlpool design such garbage? They should all be recalled.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in February 2016 from Lowes. Within 3 months the freezer started frosting up and eventually wasnt freezing. I made sure the back of the refrigerator was clean of debris and defrosted the freezer. This started occurring every 2 weeks. Upon a visit to Lowes, they indicated I would need to call the manufacturer. Well, after calling about 5 times and sitting on hold over 30 minutes each time, I gave up and decided I would just deal with having to defrost it every 2 weeks.Fast forward to September 2016. I wake up to $300 in food at 67 degrees in the fridge. Mind you, Im a caterer and have a wedding to cater in a few days. So here I sit on hold with Whirlpool. The man answered the phone after 40 minutes on hold. Then proceeds to tell me there are no technicians in my area and someone would get back to me in 24-48 business hours. Unacceptable, I say. I have now been on hold for another hour while he sees what he can do. Biggest load of crap ever. He didnt bother apologizing for the loss of food, and hasnt checked in with me once. I think the guy might have put me on hold and gone to lunch. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool appliance - and zero stars to their customer service team. This is **!

We bought our Duet washer in 2007 with a three-year warranty. In 2010, the washer started banging so we called it in for repair. It was determined that the bearing on the drum was bad, so the entire drum assembly was replaced because the poor design of integrating the bearing into the drum. Almost one year to the day, our washer started banging again. The washer is no longer under warranty. We were told the parts are around $400 plus and another $400 for labor. The repairman was from the store we bought the washer and he is a certified Whirlpool repairman. He related to us that this is a very common occurrence for Whirlpool washers because they are using cheap foreign made bearings. He services this problem on a weekly basis and Whirlpool will not do a recall because unless it is a safety hazard, it is not a concern to them if consumers have to pay out the nose for cheaply made parts. This repairman informed us that during training at a Whirlpool class, he learned that on the main board of the washers, they could put a 2 cent lamp that would indicate a bad board which would simplify diagnosis, expedite repair and reduce service time, but Whirlpool wont do it because it isnt cost effective. The repairman told us that we can call customer service until we are blue in the face, but Whirlpool wont give a ** because it is out of warranty. He sees this happen all the time with Whirlpool. My wife called Whirlpool Customer Service just to be told we are ** even though the cheap, crappy bearing that went bad was done under warranty, a year earlier.Well Whirlpool, I guess you lost another customer who will make sure that you lose a lot more customers. We are going to take our business elsewhere and we will make sure all our family, friends, neighbors and coworkers know how bad your customer service and poor attitude is toward consumers. If you cant back your products when you put cheap foreign garbage parts in your product, then you need to lose business and get out of the market.

Purchase 2009 Duet Washer & Dryer (WFW9700VW00). Recently have had error codes coming up - F35 for one. Could not get washer to reset. Had to keep unplugging and plugging back in. Service was called and the tech knew right away what was wrong. He ordered and installed an analog pressure switch. While he was working he mentioned that this was a known error and if we had called with this problem a couple years ago Whirlpool would have replaced the washer. Im not looking for a replacement but I feel Whirlpool should cover the part having been a known issue.

Cabrio top load HE washer - Ive only had the washer a couple of years. My husband bought it for me thinking it would make washing more time efficient and energy saving. Lesson learned! After struggling with this washer for the past year, I was told today that to repair it, it would cost around $800 or I would need to buy another washer. The washers bearings and tub need to be replaced and it will not spin properly or at all. Previously, I have owned washers for over 10 years each. This was definitely not a good purchase. After reading all of the other complaints on this site, I understand that I am not alone. It was also mentioned on one complaint of the possibility of a fire hazard with this washer. Whirlpool should be recalling.

We bought a 20.5 cubic ft Whirlpool refrigerator. 2 months later it started cutting off, and on in a constant repeated cycle then run normal for a while. We had 2 Whirlpool repair appointments. The first guy said he couldnt come fix it unless it was acting up while he was here which was a intermittent issue. Refrigerators dont perform on cue. The 2nd guy came out after the first guy messed around long enough for the warranty to expire. We went ahead, and replaced the startup relay (most common problem). He replaced the control board, and wire harness. He said if that didnt fix it he didnt know what else to do. 2 hours after he left the fridge was right back to doing the same thing. He failed to report back to Whirlpool that the fridge couldnt be repaired. We contacted customer service, and their resolution was to get another repairman to come out, and replace the control board which had already been replaced. In the end they bailed on us, and left us stuck with a broke refrigerator, and we had to buy a new one ourselves. I might add it was not a Whirlpool. They spent $471 trying to fix a broken fridge, and wanted to send another repairman (another $100) to fix a $629 refrigerator how does that make any sense. It was a very disappointing experience, and Whirlpool should be ashamed.

Whirlpool is an absolutely terrible company. I bought a stove and a microwave. The stoves lower drawer would fall off its track every time I opened it because it only had a single track at the front instead of one that went to the back to keep it stable. It scratched my baseboards horribly and was a huge pain. When I called to complain, they said they had no record of such a problem and were completely useless, despite the fact that the store I got it from acknowledged having the same problem and said that Whirlpool came out to fix it for them. Maybe Whirlpool only helps corporate customers so they can keep fooling people into buying their unbelievably ** products. The plastic casing around the microwave door handles started cracking (first the bottom cracked and a large piece fell off and now the second is cracking). I called to complain and was informed that because this was happening over a year after purchase (the microwave is 1 year and 2 months old) they couldnt do anything about it. The last time I checked, appliances are meant to last longer than a year before they literally fall apart. What a joke. I will never buy Whirlpool again and I will make a point of telling every single person I ever know whos buying a home to avoid their products as well. What an epic fail.

When you purchase a Cabrio high efficiency washer dont expect clean clothes
When you purchase a Cabrio high efficiency washer dont expect clean clothes! But, you can expect holes, torn and, smelly clothes. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to wash. The machine I purchased has a glass top but its dark and you cant see into the machine so that was a waste of money! If you wash clothes in 1/4 depth of water, nothing gets clean. Who even designed this disaster? I had enough common sense to know it was going to be bad but the salesman at Lowes informed me that ALL washers were high-efficiency and getting a tub full of water days are over. I wish we wouldve just paid for repair and kept my old washer. I hate doing laundry with this machine! I use to be able to wash my blankets, pillows, curtains, throw rugs, even car mats with no problems. Not anymore! This machine couldnt handle it. You ought to see my sheets and shirts when theyre done. They come out twisted up so tight I have to untangle them before they go to dryer. What a horrible nightmare of a machine! If we were not out so much money Id send this machine to the junkyard and get a real washer with realistic amounts of water! How are you saving anything when clothes require 2 times to get somewhat clean??? If youre reading this and considering a high-efficiency washing machine, DONT DO IT!! You will regret it. Im counting the days when I can junk mine!

The electric range was purchased June 2011. In June 2012, I purchased the extended warranty from Whirlpool (or their agent). The range is located in a summer cottage, so it has minimal use. I cleaned the self-clean oven last week after carefully reading the manual. Manual did not state to remove the chrome drip pans on the top, just “remove oven racks and storage drawer contents”. The oven cleaning caused the right rear burner pan to turn bronze/black. I called Whirlpool. I was referred to Warranty folks who told me they will not cover it because it is cosmetic and referred me back to Whirlpool (as it was WP instructions that were incorrect!) I called Whirlpool and they will not replace the chrome pan. I can purchase one. This is not my fault as aforementioned. I have been a Whirlpool customer for years. I will never buy another WP product. If they cannot write the instructions correctly, it makes we wonder about the product.

Whirlpool Energy Efficient Top Loader - I re-wash at least 20% of all clothes because they have dark spots AFTER washing them, but NOT before! It is a moving target, wash out one dark mark; get another somewhere else. I bought great quality sheets that are permanently stained, because of this. No matter how you load this machine, anything with arms and legs gets entangled into a big knotted mess. It is difficult to separate them and time-consuming. This puts a lot of stress on the clothes, especially as the load spins. I also re-wash entire loads at least 4 loads because the clothes dont rinse properly. I bought a 5 yr. extended warranty and have had this serviced at least 4 times to no avail. THE PROBLEM IS IN THE DESIGN! I am POSITIVE of it. If you have these problems, as well, please contact me. I would love to investigate a class action suit. I am THAT mad.

The only thing still working is the Whirlpool dishwasher but I wonder for how long. Ive talked to Whirlpool and they said I only had a 1 yr warranty and they could not help. To Whirlpool Headquarters, Our message to those whom wish to listen is that your product is only as good as the service company you employ to handle service and repairs. Our most recent experience with A&E Factory Service has us convinced we will never buy Whirlpool appliances again. After a two week wait for our scheduled appointment we were dealt a most unprofessional diagnosis as to what may be the problem and then told that to service our appliance would result in overtime and that simply wouldnt be happening at this visit. The appointment time was 12 to 4 PM the repairmen was here at 2:30 pm only for five minutes. We have spoken with a Michael ** with your company who advised us to wait for a call from A&E which no call was ever received. We will be sharing our disgust with Home Depot where we purchased our refrigerator and alerting them to avoid further customer dissatisfaction by no longer promoting Whirlpool in our area. We are level headed and fair people just not able to grasp that a company as big as yours cant do better than this.

I have had this machine (Indesit IWDE126 Washer/Dryer) for a very short time; the washer is great. It does a 20 minute daily wash which is good however the dryer part screws up everything you put into it and ironing, even with steam, makes no difference at all. The WORST part is the organisation DONT CARE. I wrote to the Chief Executive, Jeff Fettig, who neither acknowledged my complaint or responded to it. I made this complaint in October 2016 and STILL do not know what the outcome is. If you are reading this review I honestly would look elsewhere for a better machine. Try MIELE. My Whirlpool Duet washer was purchased on August 2006. The first one had to be replaced as it flooded my laundry room on the first floor and the basement – not once but twice. When I was told that they would send yet another service person out to try and fix it, I told them it would be at the curb and that I was looking forward to filing a lawsuit. Then after being on hold for forever and getting the company that sold me the unit involved, they replaced the washer at no charge. From day one I hated this washer machine. If you failed to take the clothes out immediately after washing, they would get a musty type odor and I never felt the clothes got cleaned enough. Yesterday, I went to empty a load of laundry and it was soaking wet with water pooling in the bottom of the barrel. Today, I had a certified Whirlpool tech come and look at the washer and he told me to put it at the curb as the rear bearing is shot and needed to be replaced. He also told me not to buy another front loader and the cost of the repair would be approximately $800.Thank you to Whirlpool for manufacturing a true hunk of crap that, may I say, cost me $1300. I will make sure I tell everyone I know that your products are crap and I would rather wash my clothes by hand. I did call the WP customer service number and was told that this is unheard of and that these machines rarely have any problems. After just reading multiple complaints of the exact same problem, I now know that this product is inferior and the design of the bearing assembly is seriously flawed. A major recall is probably in the near future and Whirlpool is hoping that most people will just dump them before the recall is made public.

Whirlpool Energy Saver Dishwasher Model DU850SWPS3 was placed in our new home purchased in May of 2010. The leak has been going on sometime it was not noticed until the floor became so soaked from use over a long period of time that we finally saw the leak, by accident, in the basement which we hardly access. The Whirlpool costumer service was no help and would not entertain repairing the dishwasher unless we paid due to the fact it is over the year warranty. This is clearly a defective part in their product and poor workmanship on their part. We should not have to check underneath our new appliances to determine if we have leaking problems because we cannot trust them from failing. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and will not recommend their products to anyone.

We did our research and wanted to buy a new washer and dryer with a trusted brand that would last. Our previous washer and dryer (different brand) lasted almost 20 years. Our new Whirlpool Duet HE Front Load washer only lasted about 2 years. The washer started making a terribly loud noise when spinning. We had a repair guy come out to evaluate the problem and provide an estimate for repairs. He said the drum, bearings, and truing was all one unit and the repairs would cost more than the washer. The factory warranty is only a year. BIG disappointment in Whirlpool.

These machines are designed to clean your clothes by rubbing them together
These machines are designed to clean your clothes by rubbing them together which they attempt to do in a minute amount of water. They destroy the fabric, pull the seam out of shape, wrinkle them beyond the point of wearable, do not get them clean and do not get all the detergent out. I have had clothes come out partially dry. They also do not dilute the fabric softener, leaving unremovable stains on your clothes. In addition, they take forever to do a load of clothes even without the extra rinse you need if you want any hope of getting the clothes rinsed. The dryer is the slowest dryer I have ever had. The steam refresh that is supposed to get the hideous wrinkles out of your clothes does not put steam into the dryer. Instead, it sets the dryer to the highest heat so that those clothes you did not want on high heat are now getting it; then it shoots bursts, yes large bursts, of water on them. Your clothes come out a combination of still wrinkles and wet. If you hear of a class action suit, please contact me. These machines should be recalled.

I bought a Whirlpool microwave oven last year. The last one year, it has worked fine. The day after the warranty period was over, the microwave oven is not working .The rotating part is not rotating, so I called your customer care center. They sent one guy to trouble hoot, he said that the rotating part is faulty and I need to spend around Rs. 3,500.00 to rectify the problem .The cost of the microwave oven is Rs. 6,500.00.How can I spend Rs. 3,500.00 to rectify the problem? That too, how it happened the day next to the warranty period. Now, I have a doubt that as I purchased the article in Saravana Store T Nagar/Jayachandran stores in T Nagar, whether I am getting such kind of problem. Because when I purchased, they gave me a lot of gifts. That time itself I suspected.I trusted Whirlpool Company. I heard that Whirlpool Company is good so I purchased a double door fridge 5 years ago. The same problem I had when I purchased the fridge, the day next to my fridge’s warranty period, it happened to me. That time, I did not think like that. But now, the same problem happened to my microwave oven. So, I am suspecting about the genuinity of the Whirlpool Company. I am totally dissatisfied about the product of the Whirlpool. I will give you my microwave oven. You take it freely. You can use my microwave oven for your demo purpose. So that in the future no customers will have problem which I had. Do reply to this mail and let me know when you are going to come and collect the article.

We had our microwave and stove delivered in October, 2015. We had 4 deliveries of the microwave. The first two were damaged, the third needed a new fan motor and the door was not straight. They wanted to send parts to fix but we could not see spending all that money for a brand new microwave to have parts put in. I complained a lot to both Whirlpool who would not replace it and ABC Warehouse who finally agreed to replace it with a brand new one. The 4th is good. (so far). Our stove has a flaw in the glass top, the drawer doesnt close properly, and there is a piece of metal sticking out from the lower right side of the oven door. ABC says they cannot do anything about it and Whirlpool says it is under a parts warranty so it has to be repaired. I even spoke to supervisor Kimberly at Whirlpool. Got same answer. We are very angry and disappointed. As I told the Kimberly, Whirlpool got every penny they asked for. We paid for brand new in perfect condition and got a stove that needs fixing. We will never recommend Whirlpool as a Company for appliances and based on all the negative reviews Ive read, neither will a lot of other people.

We called Future Shop and very soon, another fridge arrived on the back of a pickup truck (no box or papers, etc.). This fridge is slowly ruining our kitchen floor as from time to time, we notice a puddle of water leaking from under the fridge. We called the store a few times but were told its normal for a fridge to do that in hot weather.

Finally found the problem: the factory-installed line from the gas control valve to the tank was leaking. Should have kept my old heater. It was still working flawlessly after 20 years. From time to time started noticing unbalancing no matter the load size. Paint bubbling, peeling & rusting. The lid lock broken. Nightmare trying to get an appointment through Whirlpool. Referred to go to a dealer. Called Sears. Gave specific details whats wrong. Appointment 2 wks out. Service arrived, he had no idea why he was there. No info given. Then he said he doesnt have the part. He ordered it and said itll be sent to me approx 5 days. But wont be fix for another 3 wks. Same with 3 people from customer care. Informed this is not acceptable. Another problem now when unplugging it still stays on its hold electrical current. This can not be replaced until its deemed its broken & cant be fixed. Each time he was able to get the water heater going again, but it would only operate for about 3 months and then it would go out again. To date, I have incurred $245.00 in plumbers service fees. My last call to Whirlpool was on 5/14/2013. This water heater was purchased on 1/25/2010 at Lowes in Evans, GA. It went out over the weekend, but the plumber was able to relight it. I purchased a french door refrigerator in March 2013. I purchased the Gold Series because I wanted the best. I have come to the conclusion that Whirlpool does not make a refrigerator with the quality to reflect the Gold Label or any label. My ice maker system created ice dams inside the fresh food area, in the ice bin compartment and allowed water to run into the fresh food area and floor. After four repair visits, I am still dealing with occasional water running down the inside of the ice maker door and into the fresh food area. I contacted Whirlpool and tried to get the defective refrigerator replaced; however, the very rude customer service representative insisted on another repair call by A&E. They scheduled the appointment for a time different than we agreed upon, so at this point I have had to cancel this appointment. I do not know why anyone would want to buy an appliance made by Whirlpool, which includes several other brands.

Got a simple error code E6 F2 on the display of my oven (only 8 years old). Called Whirlpool to schedule a repair. They told me there were no available dates for one of their techs to fix my unit. They referred me to 3 outside companies that wanted to charge me over $100 just to come out and take a look. One of the phone numbers to the companies they referred me to was a wrong number. I asked them to tell me what the error code means and they said they couldnt tell me with any degree of accuracy. (What use is an error code, then??!!) I checked all over the internet and different websites say it might be a control board (over $300 for the part) issue. But several techs also said that it is a crap shoot and could also be a Temperature Sensor. I called back Whirlpool to see if they could get me a deal on the part. But, guess what? They dont sell it anymore...in fact they dont even sell their own parts at all!! And, they transferred me to some outside company that refused to even give me part numbers, to avoid me shopping for a better deal (which I did end up finding on Amazon after number 6 below). I called back Whirlpool and after getting transferred around to 2-3 different people and wasting about an hour I finally got someone who finally wanted to just give me whatever decent service they could and they finally got me the part numbers of the 2 different control boards (Main Control Unit and Sister board that controls the locking mechanism, $367 and $140 respectively). Now I am faced with paying an Appliance Repair person over $500 for what seems to me is a BIG FAT LEMON of an appliance due to the sheer number of unsatisfied people that are having the same issue, have had it fixed, and had the error just return again. THUS.... WHIRLPOOL AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEIR PRODUCTS JUST SUCK!! AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE! THE LEAST THEIR COMPANY COULD DO IS TRY TO HELP FIX THE PROBLEM, NOT EXACERBATE IT BY GIVING SHADY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REFUSING TO HELP FIX THE PROBLEM!!!

Handle needs smarter design. I purchased model #WRT311FZDM00 in November of 2015, didnt install in my new home till December. I am a single senior female, so there is little wear on the fridge, unlike a family of several people and with kids. The door handle actually broke just behind the screws that hold it in place, the plastic part of it broke into a couple of pieces. The cost to replace this handle is approximately $80, which is ridiculous in my opinion. Please start making things of quality materials instead of cheap plastic, especially at a stress point of a part. Even I know better than that. All 4 of my major kitchen appliances are Whirlpool, as well as my washer/dryer. I thought I was buying quality products. Hopefully things will hold up better with the other ones.

I also purchased a Whirlpool range (model YGFE461LVQ) and the convection fan went on it a month after we bought it. The manufactures warranty does not allow repair people to travel any further than 100 km to repair, something that we had to take the stove in to be repaired. We got the stove back the same day and brought it home. Low and behold, after a short period of time it started to rattle again and got steadily worse. Also, now my one burner on high does not stay on high; it keeps going out then coming back on.I have called the place we purchased these pieces of junk from and they said there is nothing they can do. I also sent e-mails to Whirlpool and they said they will look into it and get back to me. That was months ago. My 4-year old water heater has upper/lower sensor issues for the fourth time this year. The rep was supposed to send replacement parts to arrive today (day four with no hot water), but the wrong ones were shipped. A different rep called and offered to exchange the unit for a new one. The expense to me will be $350-$450 for the plumber to uninstall my unit, take it to Lowes and bring the new one back to install. The plumber suggested I take my $450 and just buy a new non-Whirlpool unit. He knew immediately that I had a Whirlpool hot water heater because its the most common repaired vendor. Whirlpool should be covering this expense for re-installation of their inferior product. Poor customer service. Day 4 with no hot water during the holidays with no solution in sight short of me purchasing a new hot water heater. Whirlpool finally got the right parts to me and I paid a plumber $190 to install. One week to the day later, my pilot light will not stay lit. No change in ventilation since it has been installed. I will say I have been dealing with their rep Chris on the phone who is extremely nice and I feel sorry for him. But we all have the exact same issue which is not being resolved.

The person at the 877-251-1679 number gave me a good tip and that may have fixed the problem in the short-term. They told me theres a screen for venting on the bottom of the unit and to use a bottle brush after turning off the unit to clean the screen. I did this yesterday and the pilot light has stayed lit. I called the toll-free number and was told the water heater was out of warranty, but they could send me the part to fix the heater at half-price. I ordered it and they waived ground shipping. I hope to have the situation fixed soon. I’m very pleased with the level of service.

I did, and they refused stating that the product is now out of the one-year warranty. This is clearly defective. I am now faced with $1,000 fix. I had started the dishwasher and had gone to bed last night. I came downstairs ten minutes later to get a bottle of water. There was smoke throughout my downstairs levels. Our Whirlpool Gold Dishwashers control had dark, noxious smoke emitting from it. I tried to turn it off but it was too hot to touch. I went to the breaker box and shut it off there, turned on fans, and went back to bed. This morning, it turned the electricity back on. It started smoking again. I tried to cancel the cycle but it wouldnt cancel. I opened the door to stop the cycle and it continued spraying water and still wouldnt shut down. I had to shut it off at the breaker again. Next problem is my refrigerator, washer and dryer are all on the same breaker. UGH! This is the second Whirlpool I have had. The first one had a rusted tub that leaked into our basement. The repair guy said he had never seen that before...sure...why would you put something in a dishwasher that would rust out on you? Whirlpool, NEVER AGAIN. First three months, the main water gasket broke. Thank you for lots of water all over the kitchen. I pulled the washer out to inspect the cause, wanted to see if it was house plumbing or dishwasher. The hose was hanging off the bottom of the machine. During the 45-minute call, I got in my car and drove to plumbing supply and applied a new hose clamp. The next day, a free service call, the repairman said it was the second one this week, Thats just what I would have done, but would not put the machine back. (void the warranty, finish work, etc...not sure how he would have serviced the machine if I did not pull it out for him). A few months later the wheels on the top shelves give way/fall off the rack, so we have those replaced. As soon as one is replaced, the other side falls off... Now, approximately 14 months into installation, the dishwasher does not work. The control panel is flashing and will not start. What a runaround with KitchenAid. We were told there was a recall on the hose clamp (we never got one). We cannot have the control panel worked on until the hose clamp is certified... That will take a week. Then we can call back... What a hassle. We bought this expensive product on good reviews. We are most disappointed. There is very little concern for making the product good. Its incredible that so much can go wrong in such a short time of limited use. Once/day... The hose clamp is just poor engineering. The rest is terrible quality and support

I bought a house with Whirlpool appliances and I bought the extended warranty for all the appliances, I started to have issues with the refrigerator almost 4 months ago and still waiting for results, do not buy whirlpool products, every time you call the warranty department be prepared to spend at least one hour waiting for a customer representative. Buy LG or GE instead. These are excellent brands that I have owned in the past.

Just like hundreds (maybe thousands?) of others who have had the same part failure causing the refrigerator to leak, I had it and was told by my very honest, highly reputable repairman (not the one KA recommended!) that it was a DEFECT. I bought a French Door style #4609730. First, I complained on Twitter and the Social Media folks gave me the runaround. I kept it up and then, filed a complain with the Better Biz Bureau. They sent the complaint to Whirlpool, who owns KA. They gave me the runaround too - UNTIL I TOLD THEM HOW MY LOCAL TV NEWS station was interested in my story (true, I went to them too). CORPORATIONS SHOULD NOT GET AWAY WITH DIRTY BIZ TACTICS!

This Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer Model W10314956B was purchased from Lowes on June 29, 2012. Recently noticed rust appearing under ice/water dispenser tray. Requested warranty service, but was told the problem was considered DUE TO WEAR & TEAR! TOTAL COP-OUT! There are NO MOVING PARTS in this area; how can there be WEAR and TEAR? To my mind, this can only be charged as SHODDY MANUFACTURING or INADEQUATE QUALITY CONTROL by the manufacturer. This appliance is only 6 1/2 years old! Consumers expect refrigerators to last much longer than that. The only possible cause for this problem is as stated above: poor quality control by the manufacturing plant, and I completely discount being told the problem was due to WEAR and TEAR! I will think long and hard before I ever even CONSIDER purchasing another Whirlpool product, and maybe YOU SHOULD TOO!One issue that keeps gnawing at me is HOW, since this is supposed to be a STAINLESS STEEL refrigerator, can it rust? The best answer I found on Google was that its likely due to insufficient chromium in the mixture of metals used to make stainless steel. To me this continues to point to shoddy workmanship at the manufacturing plant. I have pictures of the problem, but for some reason Im unable to copy them to this complaint. Probably because Whirlpool is afraid of pictures that confirm their shoddy craftsmanship!

Refrigerator ice maker quit working. This is replacement fridge for first refrigerator that quit working same model. This one has electrical burn marks inside behind a panel. Whirlpool says this is normal. How can burn marks inside a refrigerator be normal. If house or fridge catch on fire will be suing Whirlpool. Ice maker and water valve replaced. Still not working. Maybe it has to do with the burn marks.

Refrigerator is good, keeps food at a good temperature, freezer keeps even ice cream solid. Only fault is draw in freezer does not hold as much as the old bottom freezer with separate unit for a draw. The refrigerator is nice looking and does the job. It just seems that manufacturers are always trying to make things better, but usually features were fine in older models.

I purchased the original Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in April 2008 for $372, and an installation charge of $443, grand total - $815. In February 2012 the tank leaked profusely, enough to ruin a section of hardwood floor in the room behind the garage where it was installed. Whirlpool provided me with return authorization, and Lowes provided me with a replacement water heater. So far so good. Since the original installation was done through Lowes, the replacement had to be as well, according to Whirlpool, but now they charged $500 with tax to install the replacement water heater! Grand total now is $1315. Fast forward to May, 2014 and the replacement water heater, just barely 2 years old, shuts off with a code of Bad gas control valve/thermostat. I call Whirlpool and an extremely rude 20-something staffer tells me the unit is out of warranty by one month! The replacement unit has no warranty at all - nada - only the original one does... Is this unbelievable or what?! BUT, they would be glad to send me the replacement of the defective part for $200 PLUS overnight shipping charges, and I would be responsible for all labor charges to install it. Had I opted for this my original $372 water heater would have wound up costing me in the neighborhood of $1800!! I told her in no uncertain terms what she could do with the repair part, and now I am going to go shopping for a water heater that will last me more than 2-4 years, and you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool, and it wont come from Lowes.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio and a one year extended warranty two years ago. As soon as my warranty ended, my washer started to malfunction. I recently started to receive the F-51 code and the washer shuts down at the spin cycle. I am angry because I spent just under 1200 dollars on a washer a little bit over two years ago and now, it is sitting in my laundry room taking up space. When I called Whirlpool, they told me I could purchase another repair warranty for $316.94, which would take the cost over 1500 dollars for this washer and there was no empathy nor compassion for what I was feeling as a consumer from the customer service rep. I spent my hard-earned money on major appliance purchase and I think that it is only fair that I get more than a two year usage out of machine that was designed to last at least six years according to their website. There is no way that this should just be my lost and cost me additional funds.

Help? WP Gold double convection wall ovens WOD93EC0AS rated very high by Consumer Reports installed end of February. Monday April 6, fan in top convection oven came on suddenly while oven not on. When I tried setting a baking temperature in top oven to see what was going on, message read This function is not available. After about 15 minutes the fan went off, and I could use the oven. Worked well Tuesday and Wednesday. Oven not used again this week, but this evening, Friday, same thing happened again. Process has been repeated several times with fewer times between fan turn on. Have turned off power to ovens until I can get a repairman. Has anyone else had this experience or know what the problem is. Have been reading about the problems with WP ovens. Wondering if I need in addition to Home Depot Warranty the one from Whirlpool as well. Had Bosch convection ovens for 12 years then self-cleaned and thermostats went out and cannot be replaced because parts no longer made or available through any supplier. Said I would not buy Bosch ovens again because the parts became unavailable even sooner. What a mistake. Apparently self-cleaning element blows a lot of ovens thermostats and/or circuit boards. Loved the ovens and had only one repair after the ovens were one or two years old. The Bosch dishwasher is same age and still working great and usually cant even tell it is on.

I purchased this monster in 2012 and after six years of enduring not enough water to actually wash the clothes for years, now the bearings have gone out making it sound like a jet engine is in my family room when it spins. After researching the bearing issue, I find it will cost $250 to $300 to have them replaced. Its also a common problem in this model even when the washer isnt at all worn out and old. That combined with the fact that my clothes dont smell clean and some blankets come out not even wet at all, Im done. I wont ever buy a water efficient washer again. Churning the dirty underwear around with a few cups of water isnt acceptable. NOTE: The bearings left months after the extended warranty expired. Just like clockwork. I purchased a much cheaper - center agitator - washer with a deep water option available. It was half the price of this top of the line Whirlpool Cabrio Washer.

The lower door closing cam has been replaced at least twice. The door continues to make a very loud noise when opening and closing. The refrigerator, a 2007 model came with the house I purchased in 2012. The refrigerator works very good, but the loud noise from opening and closing will wake a hibernating bear. The last repairman (from Sears) told me that the doors had been recalled, but I dont know who to contact or how to go about getting the replacement doors and getting them installed.I have a Home Warranty, and they sent Sears out twice to repair them, but after opening and closing 2-3 times, they go back to the loud noise. I have no idea where the refrigerator was purchased. I dont really want to rate my experience since I think the repairmen did all they could. I simply think this is a bad manufactured door problem, and I just want them replaced. The refrigerator works good, and I cant afford to purchase another just because of the doors.

We purchased a top loader Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer and within a few short months noticed a mildew-like smell emanating from it. This is DESPITE the fact that we leave the top up the entire time that the machine is not in use, we use hydrogen peroxide and ammonia in our loads of laundry in order to kill any mold present and my husband painstakingly hand dries the interior of the drum after each load of laundry. He also puts hydrogen peroxide in the fabric softener dispenser in an effort to kill the mold/mildew. None of this has helped to mitigate the ongoing mildew/mold odor. We have run across other online reviews which suggest that the Cabrio does not fully drain the water in the washer leading to the potential for the development of mold and mildew. This is very upsetting as we paid a lot of money for the Cabrio and had high hopes for it.

I am a Whirlpool Privilege Member - IFB privilege number **. This is Mrs ** here and I possess two Whirlpool Fridges, one single door and one double door (Elite Model). In fact, all my family members have Whirlpool refrigerators because I recommended them and because I have had a very satisfying experience with your service until now.I recently (first week of March) logged a complaint as my fridge was not working (it was working on and off). The Mechanic from the service center visited us and said that the compressor was at fault. I had some doubt about this as the Fridge was working on and off and I requested my friend who had a workshop to come and have a look. He checked and said that the compressor was working perfectly but looked like there was some problem in the supply of current which could be a loose contact or something. So I logged another complaint and when the mechanic came (this time a different one), I was out of the country and my husband was there in the house. He checked the fridge and said the compressor was working and apologized for the earlier mechanic’s wrong diagnosis. He also said that it was difficult that since the wires were inside the beading or the Puff, or whatever, the fridge could not be repaired.I am really astonished and pained by this comment by the mechanic as we spent a lot of money and bought a fridge for its brand worth name. I shudder to think if this complaint had happened two years after I brought it, should I simply throw the fridge because it cant be repaired? Is there anything at all where the company can say it can’t be repaired? Are fridges used and thrown in India? I am all the more worried because I have been recommending Whirlpool Fridges left and right to everyone and I tell them that there could be a situation when Whirlpool would ask you to simply throw your fridge away. I still have belief in Whirlpool and I firmly believe my recommendations would not go wrong, and it is only the fault of the mechanic who could have made this remark unwittingly.

I should have read the reviews on this dishwasher before buying but it was on sale for such a good price. I guess I got what I paid for. I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio just over a year ago. The washing machine does not clean clothes! While under warranty, a service tech came out to look at it. After hearing the problem, he replied that it was a common complaint and that he could not fix the machine because the problem was that it is so poorly made that it simply does not work. His recommendation was to come to terms with the loss of a thousand dollars as Whirlpool would not rectify the problem.Whirlpool really showed their true colors when they refused to cover the repair tech visit. Whirlpool supervisor Kitty explained to me that customer advice was not covered under warranty and that we would have to pay the bill. Highlights of her argument were that we should just rinse the clothes multiple times and they would eventually get clean. She also mentioned that if the machine really did not work as described, we should have complained sooner even though it was still under the one-year warranty. Whirlpool will sell you junk backed with horrible customer service. Beware!

My gas hot water heater failed. The pilot went out and could not be relit.
My gas hot water heater failed. The pilot went out and could not be relit. The Whirlpool water heater has a 12 year warranty and we are in year 5. Sears said they could not send anyone to repair it because there was no service in our area. We live 30 minutes from Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas. They offered to replace it even though I had a plumber on standby, ready to replace it. They said they could not let me do that if they had one in stock. After waiting a week for the delivery, they called at 4:45 pm to claim that the delivery truck would not start. They would not put it on another truck or help in any way. Then they said it would be another week before they could deliver it. All this time we are going without hot water, trying to cook, clean, take baths, do laundry etc. They had no sympathy and refused to provide compensation so I could proceed with installing a new water heater. I could have done this if I knew a check was in the mail but they refused to allow me to do this. This happened to me at another big box store years ago and they sent a check immediately. The customer support in the hot water heater dept at Sears was terrible. If they cant send someone to repair and they cant provide a replacement within a few days, it is only reasonable to offer payment so that the customer and move forward with repairs. I will never buy another appliance from Sears after this nightmare. On December 4th Im supposed to get the delayed hot water heater but if the truck doesnt start, who knows how long I will have to wait. I am reasonable and flexible but lack of hot water is something a customer should not have to wait two weeks to get resolved.

I purchased this machine in April and already, the right leg is rusted and the under seam of machine is rusted. I have throw rug under it and where the leg is, there is rust on the rug. I called service from Whirlpool and 2 servicemen came out. The first one told me I was loading it wrong and the water was splashing over the inside tub to rust the leg and I asked, So why is the seam under the machine rusted? No answer. The second one came out and told me he could not find anything wrong with the machine and doesnt know why it is rusting, but he never gave me a paper to sign off on. He also said that maybe it was rusted when it was delivered. Not!!! Then I call P.C. Richard in Watchung, NJ where I bought the machine at and told them about the problem. They sent a serviceman out and he said that the bleach condensation is causing the rust, its known fact that this machine has this problem. He said that the water does not run through the dispenser but there is a model that does. I want a credit on this machine and get the upgraded one. It states on the machine that I can use bleach but it doesnt say it will cause rusting. I want you to tell me how a 9-month-old machine is rusted on one leg and the seam underneath is also rusted!!!! I had a machine for 10 years and it wasnt rusted. I am very unhappy with this product and with the customer service of Whirlpool.
