Our slide in range had a burned out element. After waiting a week for the part the range still did not heat. The real problem was the control panel at a cost of $300 plus labor. We were so discussed with the problem we purchased a different brand range. Who should be purchasing a new range after 18 months???? Cost of service call twice, part cost of element, and new range all total another $600.00. Do not purchase this product!!!

In 2/2007, I purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer (GHW9400PW) and have had constant F06 failures. After the repairman debrided the pump, he felt the issue might be electrical, if not resolved, it will fail again. Now, it needs a $400 to $500 electrical system and cannot be guaranteed that will end failures as these washers have had many problems. It cost $1000 and only lasted 4 years before the failures appeared. Whirlpool only offers a one-year warranty, which is not enough to cover the future problems these machines are prone to developing.

We bought a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator in September 2009 for $898, which was a lot then. Last fall the ice maker jammed and started dumping ice in the floor. Yesterday, we noticed that things in the freezer werent solid. After checking, we found our frozen food had thawed and things in our fridge werent very cold either. We called Whirlpool which was no help. Then we called a repair man who told us, “There was a leak in the seal system and it was low on freon. Would have to replace a compressor, evaporator and it would be better and cheaper to just buy a new refrigerator. It has just turned 4 years old. I called Whirlpool again and they said they didnt know why it went bad. I said is it a recall or just a bad refrigerator. The girl was no help at all; I kept asking to talk to a tech and finally asked for their corporate office address which she said was 553 Benson Rd., Benson Harbor, Mich. 49022. I now have to buy a new refrigerator and it will not be a Whirlpool.

I bought this Whirlpool Cabrio from Lowes June 2016. It doesnt wash the clothes at all, always detergent marks or clothes just not clean. Now it is making some loud noise during washing cycles (sounds like motor is dying) and I now I have to wait for someone to come out and fix it during a 8-5 time span, so I have to take off work. I will never buy whirlpool again. So very unsatisfied!

We purchased a mobile home in 2008 that had all Whirlpool appliances. The microwave quit working 2 times before the warranty was expired. They paid to have it fixed. After the warranty expired it quit working again when it was about 3 years old. I called the repairman and he said it might be the most expensive part in it, so it would probably be cheaper to buy another one. I had to buy the same model because it was a built in microwave and I couldnt find another one to fit. It quit working about 2 months before it was 2 years old. I called the company and they were polite but said they couldnt do anything since it was out of warranty. I have been through two of these same models in 5 years. It ought to be against the law to sell such junk.

When I grew up, my mom and dad had a Whirlpool dishwasher and it was the ONLY dishwasher we EVER had. The SAME one, for over 20 years! So, with confidence, I purchased a mid-range unit. (over $600 2015). By 2016, ONE year later, I was already buying replacement parts because the top rack was falling apart and the bottom spinner broke as well. The parts were extremely expensive and hard to find. Now, a mere 4 years later, you cannot find ANY parts for this machine and there are so many issues with the unit. It is no longer functioning. When it did work it ran for 4 HOURS!! Even then, the dishes are filthy. I am so upset by whirlpool. I want a full refund from the company for treating their loyal customer so badly.

Awful customer service. We bought a washing machine in 2010 and it has shredded a ton of clothes over the years. I called customer service to see what they could do to help me with this problem. After about 45 minutes of trying to get more than a service that I would have to be responsible for, the supervisor offered me a new washer at a discounted price. I went online to compare and found out I could purchase the exact same washing machine at home depot & best buy for $50 cheaper. I called back to see if there was anything they could have done and they would not budge.Shame on you Whirlpool. You have lost a customer and I will make sure no one I know buys one of your products ever again. I cannot believe that you would not make any accommodations for us. We bought that washing machine with the intention of keeping it for 15 years. It has cost us countless amounts of blankets, shirts, pants, etc. I cant believe you wouldnt help us after all the money this piece of junk cost us.

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 washer based off the salesmans recommendation (not very happy about this). After the warranty ran out, every time in the spin cycle, it makes a sound similar to a piece of metal banging around inside the cylinder during the cycle. Our friends have told us they had a similar experience and for their machine, they found out the bearings were going out. Weve had this machine a total of 3 years. I doubt we ever buy another item from HH Gregg plus will do our investigation on Consumer Buyers digest before we toss any more money out for a washing machine.

I purchased Whirlpool Microwave/Convection Oven a little over a year ago. It needed repair four times and the latest repair debacle appears that it will take ~5-6 weeks to get it repaired if the part that comes in works. The microwave model number is GMH6185XVS1. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance. I spoke with Whirlpool (not the extended warranty company to which I was referred), and they refused to help, period. The extended warranty company (although very nice), werent much help and will continue to attempt repairs until the price of the repair(s) exceeds the value of the microwave no matter how it inconveniences my household.

Purchased from Home Depot and self-installed. That part was not too big a deal but after installing this stove we started a journey of irritation, aggravation and general dissatisfaction. This stove has the standard layout for burners that seem to be common to most low-end stoves. Two huge burners in the front, a simmer burner at the right rear and a general purpose burner at the left rear. Thats all wrong for me and our set up. I want a large burner at the left rear and general purpose every place else. Can you alter the standard configuration? NO! Not without some major alterations to the stove top.Next are the grills or cast cooktops (2 each). They are a bit cumbersome when cleaning the stove but doable. The real problem with the grills are Whirlpool decided to save money by skimping on this feature. The grills are not a stable cooking platform for smaller pans and it turns out Whirlpool recommends square pans for this stove. SAY WHAT? I have pans and skillets from my grandparents and they are ALL round. Thats how that stuff is made. ROUND! The grills design is unstable for any round pot, pan or skillet, if its diameter, is 6 or less. Kiss that excellent saucepan goodbye if you have this stove. My current solution is a piece of light expanded steel over the burner areas.Keeping in mind we use Propane as our heating gas. The adjustment of the flame temp on the four burners is non-existent. They all are either on high, medium or low. There seems to be no fine tuning with these burners. At the end of the day go look for something that is NOT a Whirlpool, LP gas range Model #: WFG515S0EW. You will be better served and less irritable with almost anything else. Even a campfire in the yard is a better choice.

This refrigerator is a disaster. You will never be able to leave your home for any length of time for fear of a storm putting your electricity out which turns it off and if it DOES NOT TURN BACK ON WHEN THE POWER IS RESTORED. We bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator - Model ES5FHAXS in 2006. Right off the bat, a line in the back of the refrigerator was leaking. We paid for the repair. Next after just one year, the refrigerator would be warm and the freezer part ran super cold. The settings did not work. After much haggling with Whirlpool, they paid for someone to come out and repair it. It worked for several weeks then the same problem came back again. We argued with Whirlpool again and someone from AES or AAA came out. The problem was fixed but once again came back again after a couple months. We called Whirlpool again. This time was much haggling and arguing but got them to come out a third time. Once again, the problem was fixed but came back again after several months. The repair company stated that if they found it was something other than what they fixed, we would be charged. I said either it was not fixed right or the refrigerator is a total lemon. I said you will probably just say it is something else to cover your costs. Whirlpool acted like they did enough, even though 3 repairs could not get it right. If we paid or each repair ourselves, it would have been nearly the cost of the refrigerator and it still would not have worked. We bought a refrigerator back in 1992 and never had any problems after 16 years when we moved. The refrigerator was not cheap but could not do what refrigerators are supposed to do - keep things cold all the time. What a disappointment.

I bought this appliance 9 months ago and it has broke 4 times now for the exact same reason. I have set aside 6 separate 4 hour windows for Diamond Factory service to come repair it. All four times, it has been repaired improperly or diagnosed as “nothing wrong with it”. My refrigerator constantly runs, eventually forms an ice wall of back of freezer, and then eventually ice gets so thick to where it stops regulating temperature. All four times, I have had to throw away all my food, defrost the fridge on my brand new hardword floors, and take off work so I can be home for these 4 hour window “service repairs”. They refuse to replace the appliance. UNBELIEVABLE. Never purchasing from Whirlpool or Home Depot in Sunset Hills again.

Now I seem to be in the same boat. The washer will not spin and drain. This has already been looked at by a technician several months ago. I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher on March 13, 2007, along with a 3-year extended warranty. Well on Nov. 15, 2011, I had a part in the control panel go out, so they replaced it and they charged me $129.00 for labor and $29.18 for the part. My dishwasher is doing the same thing. It doesnt finish the cycle and I have to restart it, so I called the repairman A&E. They said the part is only guaranteed for 90 days. The part only lasted six months! Its the same part and the same problem. It should be considered a defective part. No matter how many you have replaced the part, it is going to need to be replaced and at $160.00, I cant afford it. They should have to pay for defective parts. Also on this model GU2600XTPSI on the panel buttons, the start button was made with this puffy plastic that has pulled apart and now it looks terrible! None of the other buttons were made this way. What a crappy workmanship, they should be embarrassed. This dishwasher was not cheap; it cost $650.00 plus $50.00 for the warranty. 4 years is too short of a time to have to replace any home appliance. There are appliance out there that are three times as old as mine and they are still working. I guess in the last 10 to 15 years, big companies dont care about their products or the people who buy them, just about their profits! I will never buy or recommend Whirlpool products.

Purchased WRF989SDAM00 French Door refrigerator in 2013, and 33 months later it is not cooling (fridge 45/freezer 36 degrees). Service call diagnosis is a leak in the sealed component area. Since it out of the 1 year warranty period, nothing is covered. This is the first of Whirlpools dual evaporator models, and is technically challenging according to the service technician. Most likely one or both evaporators are defective, and this type of failure comes with a recommendation to change out the compressor as well as it is moisture compromised. As my previous Kitchen Aids had 10 year sealed component warranties, and the Whirlpool is the same base mechanism as the Kitchen Aid, I contacted Whirlpool to see if they would extend my warranty coverage to these sealed components. Website submission - never got an answer. Called the customer service line - they politely told me they were sorry but there is nothing they can offer me. Even the extended service plan would not cover me as this refrigerator has a preexisting problem and it must be 100% operational to begin an extended service contract.Im extremely disappointed in this fridge only lasting 33 months, in comparison to my previous Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid refrigerators. Of course the internet just allows me to see that Im not alone is purchasing a short lived appliance. So here is my contribution to the internet of things: Do not purchase Whirlpool refrigerators expecting them to last much beyond the warranty period. Buyer beware.

I am a single mother of a 5 year old and I take care of my mother as well. I purchased a whirlpool because I believed them to be reliable, boy was I mistaken! I am in the military and while on an 8-month deployment I got a message from my mother that the washing machine had stopped working. Here is my mother who cannot drive - with laundry bags and a 5 year old in tow walking to the laundromat to wash, only to carry wet laundry back to the house to dry. Thanks a lot Whirlpool! My cousin in Michigan tried to help my mother with the company and a repairman as much as possible from over the phone. Here is what I got:The washer repairman came this morning. He did the diagnosis but I did not approve the replacement parts and repairs. First of all, he said that the motor control board was bad. To replace it with a new board would be $503 and a refurbished one would be $490.03. If the motor control board was replaced, it might fix the problem with the user interface. If not, the cost to replace that would be $302.62.Apparently there are 4 boards that could have problems. He also said there was a problem with the start button. Anyway, we ended up paying for the service call ($129), but I thought the cost for the replacement parts was too much to justify when we could get a new one for about the same cost. He recommended that we get a Service Contract when buying something new because of the cost to replace the parts. While doing some research online, unless you purchase an extended warranty or have experience in 2M; you will be researching new washers every 2-4 yrs. What happened to built to last? It seems to me all this technology/circuit boards/computers to make things work have degraded the appliance quality.Im sorry for the bad news but I just wanted you to have all the info. Let me know what you think. I know the washer is only a little over 2 years.

Bought this because it was a Whirlpool product and liked how it was supposed to work at the store, HhGregg in Downingtown. Anyway one week in we started having problems, clothes not being washed well, and constant problems of dripping wet clothes, like they were never spun at all. Would have to readjust all the clothes, respin, most times we have to that that every time we wash clothes and have to respin more than once and even then, clothes have too much water left in them, so it takes forever to get our clothes dry. We have a service contract with Sears, we have repairmen out a few times. Get told, dont wash towels in it, only do very small loads, supposed to be a large capacity washer, nothing wrong with it. Now its worse than ever, terrible product. I want a different washer, its rusting at the lid, its only at the most 2 yrs old, it was expensive and am very, very frustrated!!! I want what I paid For!!! Whirlpool, shame on you for putting out such crap.On to my next problem with a Whirlpool range, again bought it because it was a Whirlpool. We had our Kitchen remodeled and the range I had was white. We needed a stainless steel range, Bought the Gold series AquaLift convection oven. This is the most horrible piece of crap. The convection oven does not cook as a convection should, food takes forever to cook on convection, reg feature works faster and hotter than the convection. In my old range I used the convection feature always unless I was baking a cake. Then used the AquaLift feature to clean my oven, it was not dirty , but I like a sparkling oven, so followed the directions, set it to clean. It looked the same after it supposedly cleaned the oven. Nothing was cleaned, tried it again, it was a little more dirty, something had spilled. I wiped out the oven, used the AquaLift self cleaning feature again, same results, old oven, self clean, the oven after a cleaning cycle, only ash was left, wipe it out, it was spotless. So I called for repair, the repair guy was here about 5-6 different times, tried this and that, replaced a heating element in the oven, turned the temperature up in the oven, so now when I bake, I have to figure out what temp I need to put it on. Tried that, even admitted that the AquaLift feature was a bust. I contacted Whirlpool, I want it replaced with a different model. This range is about I and a half years old, want to replace it but again was very expensive. Its a terrible product, it cant be a coincidence, that both newer appliances made by Whirlpool are terrible!!!! Combined they cost me almost 3000.00 dollars. I feel that I have been ripped off definitely did not get the great products that I thought I was buying. No response from Whirlpool, no satisfaction. I want them both replaced or my money back, take them out of here, they are useless!!!!! I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again, and have told everyone I know about the terrible quality of these products.

We purchased a Whirlpool unit Mod#WRF535SMBM from Home Depot in Bluffton, SC. Frost and ice build up in bottom freezer of our Whirlpool unit. We have had 4 service calls since our purchase of the unit in Dec 2014 (April, May, June and Sept) with one freezer door replacement due to a faulty door liner and soon to be a second freezer door replacement due to lack of insulation in the door, along with the door slides. Each service call visit is by a different service company. The other issue is the unit is advertised as S/S. This is the first time I have had a magnet stick to S/S so I figure that the outer shell is a mere coating of some sort and not a quality S/S product.

I am a working single man. I needed a used washer. I shopped the new washers but they were a lotta money. I seen many of them were without agitators. Well heck... who am I to judge the progress in technology?? So, going around to the used appliance store I run across this Whirlpool Cabrio. OK, Whirlpool meant quality my entire life. So, I bought it. MASSIVE MISTAKE!!! This POS is no washing machine. I dont know what it is, but it is NO washing machine! It is a machine that runs a very few gallons of water into a load of clothes and makes them wet, and that is about it!!All I know is the federal government is dropping the ball on this situation BIG TIME!! To allow a company to foist off on consumers such a PILE OF JUNK!! The pile of crap is PURE junk as far as simply doing its job... washing clothes!! It is a DISGRACE of an American product, and I will NEVER buy anything made by Whirlpool the rest of my life!!I took the device off the lid that tells it when the lid is closed, and just stuck it in its receptacle in the body... so I could raise the lid while it is running and watch this POS in action and try and figure out what the hell is going on. First big problem is it NEEDS an agitator!! Obviously Whirlpool had not figured out how to make the clothes circulate without one. Second is the water level (no matter what cycle setting) is obscenely LOW!! The clothes do not circulate AT ALL, and about 1/3 of them do not even get below water level for the entire cycle!! What I am forced to do is use a water hose and run a lot more water off into the tub just to get the clothes in the damn water!! And ever at that, the clothes still do not circulate AT ALL!! They just rub up against each other!! And I have to use twice as much soap than called for!!

I bought a Whirlpool gas range in March of 2015. Three months later the control module went out on it. It was still covered under warranty through Whirlpool, so they send a technician out to fix it. Its now a little over a year later and the control module is out again. I call Whirlpool and ask them if it was still under warranty and if they can it fix it so they say, you want me to send a technician out. Why? I just assumed since theyre sending a technician out but there were going to cover it. Well the technician gets here and its not covered under warranty. And I now I have to pay a $90 service charge fee for the guy to tell me that the control modules out on it which I already knew. Hes going to charge me more than the stove was worth to fix it so I declined to get it fixed.

My dishwasher quit drying and washing in hot water at Thanksgiving 2021. I could not get someone to look at it because the repair company (for Whirlpool) could not get to it until January 2022. The repair tech said it was it could be three different things. He was going to order all three parts. Three weeks later, they came to repair it. It still didn’t work and I hate to wait two different days (all day) for service. First day, he didn’t make it so had to schedule for next week. He replaced the other two parts. It now works by still doesn’t dry like it should. Not thrilled with performance at all!

We bought Whirlpool duet front loading washer and matching dryer. In 3 years the water level seemed like it was off. Clothes, especially towels were coming out stinky. Eventually you could hear the clothes were merely flopping around wet. Before we could order the repair part it completely quit and locked our clothes into it. I washed my clothes at my daughters house for a week and dried them at home. Within the week the dryer quit. Not having the money to repair both machines, my son gifted me a set of top loading washer/dryer. Again Whirlpool. In a week we had repair service out. They replaced everything possible and it still didnt work right. Since the 90 days from purchase was approaching we returned it to the store and they had Whirlpool send us a brand new dryer. This one worked for a month then stopped spinning. I havent called for service yet because now with 3 broken machines I am so disgusted. When I think about them I feel like I am going to puke. My washing machine shouldnt be the worst thing in my life, especially since it was a lovely gift from a wonderful son.

I bought a new non-frost 14 cubic Whirlpool fridge Model # W4TXNWFWQ in 2013 from PC Richards. The freezer keeps getting busted. It actually produces a lot of frost which stops the entire fridge from running properly. The tech said this is a common problem with Whirlpool. I am lucky to have bought the 3 years warranty. But when I call to fix the problem it always takes them a few days and I have to miss work for this non-sense.

We ordered the Whirlpool 6.4 CuFt Electric Slide-in Range WEE745HOFS from Costco on 1/3/2017. It was delivered 2 weeks later. The FIRST time we turned on the oven the top heating element caught fire during the preheat and damaged the interior of the oven! The interior paint was completely burned off above the fire, exposing the raw metal. Costco called Whirlpool for us to ask for a replacement oven. Whirlpool refused. We called too. Whirlpool sent out a repairman who replaced the element and PAINTED the damage on the top of the interior. For weeks, every time we turned on the oven, the house filled with smokey paint fumes. I have a chronic lung disease (sarcoidosis) so the paint fumes were a serious problem. We stopped using the oven. Weve hardly used the oven since that time because we have a nice, large countertop oven. I turned on the Whirlpool oven again in January of 2018. The top element burned out AGAIN after less than a dozen uses! I was 2-3 days past the purchase date and again Costco tried to advocate for us but Whirlpool refused to help in any way.My next door neighbor purchased this exact oven two months before we did and she has had the SAME problems (and worse!) with NO help from Whirlpool! I have HATED this oven even though we mostly use the cooktop. A $1300 oven should NOT burn up an element in less than a dozen uses! The cooktop is very difficult to clean, scratches and stains easily. The trim and panel also scratch very easily. Yes, I did purchase the Whirlpool cleaning kit and follow all directions carefully. My next door neighbor says dont bother trying the Whirlpool Aqualift cleaning feature because it DOESNT WORK! She hates this oven too. By the way, ALL of my appliances are new Whirlpool appliances! So far the dishwasher is doing ok but the microwave is 4 months old and the door is not closing completely, so it has to be adjusted often or it clicks rather than cooking. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN WHIRLPOOL!

We purchased a brand new Cabrio Washer and Dryer in 2008 from Lowes. The salesman at the time suggested I purchase the extended warranty. It was because of the state of the art controls in the machines that could cost plenty if they had to be replaced. I was a bit skeptical at first. After several weeks, I returned to the store and purchased a 4-year extended warranty. This was probably the best money I expended in some time. In less than three years of ownership, I have had to use the warranty twice for the same faulty part (water control valve) that the repairperson told me was problematic. Then after reading the horror stories that consumers submitted to this website, I felt compelled to voice my opinion as well. I have been a die hard Whirpool product fan my entire life because they used to manufacture quality, long lasting products. I am moving soon. And I will have to purchase new appliances for the kitchen. But they will not be manufactured by any Whirlpool company. Shame on you Whirlpool!

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine - We purchased the (best name brand) from Get It Now and all we ever had was problems. We will fill the washer 1/2 full of clothes and the clothes on top would not even get wet. So we have to do it again, to make sure the rest of the clothes were washed. Many times there was white smudge marks on the clothes, sorta like powder (we use only liquid soap that you recommend). Today I washed a child’s bedspread for the 4th time because the stains would not come out (from a cookie). I had to turn the bedspread twice just to get it wet. I used bulk load and heavy duty load and it doesnt work. Your product is a very big disappointment for the price a person has to pay. I will recommend that no one purchase this product. Your people need to do further research on who this machine cleans clothes.

I bought a Whirlpool model GI7FVCXWY00 over and under refrigerator directly
I bought a Whirlpool model GI7FVCXWY00 over and under refrigerator directly from Whirlpool through DirectBuy on April 19, 2010. The unit was a relatively high-end model (over $2,000) that came with a 12-month warranty. Thirteen months after purchase and 1 month after warranty expiration, the ice maker stopped working flooding the kitchen in the process. We called Whirlpool who recommended one of their authorized maintenance subcontractors (GuinCo) to appraise the problem. GuinCo came out, diagnosed that a valve in the ice maker had gone bad and the repair cost us $364. We chalked that up to Murphys Law (repair needed immediately after warranty expiration). Not 4 months later, the kitchen comes up flooded again and again and the ice makers not working. We call GuinCo, the repairman come out and said this time that its a heater and ice maker defect which will cost $643 to repair. He also said that the unit has been designated as having a design defect. We held off on the repair until we could contact Whirlpool for some remediation since it has become obvious that the unit is a lemon. I called Whirlpool, laid out the problems, timelines and potential cost (ice maker failures are going to cost us almost half of what the entire refrigerator cost before the unit is a year and a half old) and the only response they had netted out to was: Sorry, you should have had extended warranty. This is a prime example of an American manufacturer, marketing an inferior product and offering the customer nothing when the lack of quality becomes obvious. I will recommend to anyone I know to stay as far away from Whirlpool products as long as I live.

Purchased Whirlpool Dishwasher 1 year ago. I use the Dishwasher once a week. When the Dishwasher was originally installed, immediately I noticed when dishes were placed the racks, there is an annoying squeaking sound. I am not exaggerating but the noise can be heard from my sidewalk outside! I called Whirlpool and a technician was sent to my residence. There is nothing wrong with your Dishwasher. I was told to Grease the racks. One year later I still have the same issue! I placed the phone near the Dishwasher to have the Customer Service Rep hear the Loud Squeaking and to no avail. I will never ever buy another product from Whirlpool. Now the latch will not close to the door! I rarely use this appliance, only placing dishes and utensils. No Pots and Pans!!!!! This is going to be another huge bill I will be responsible for paying and I dont feel it is of my own doing. It seems to be apparent that Whirlpool does not stand by their products!!!! I am sure they are aware of all these issues, customers are complaining and nothing seems to be done from reading some of these posts. I am wondering why they are still in business.

We paid for the installation and kit for the washer and dryer set. The tech who delivered them claimed the kit was not correct and that he could not install the dryer. We contacted Home Depot, Whirlpool, and had Home Depot call Whirlpool on our behalf with no resolution. They will not refund the installation even though they didn’t install anything.Whirlpool will not directly say whether or not they will send someone else out to actually install it this time. To top it off - I asked the Whirlpool rep which kit needs to be used and she told me whichever I want... for a gas hook up... whichever I want. This is ridiculous and Whirlpool has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Side note - don’t waste time on the chat feature they provide. Whirlpool Duet washing machine model WFW9500TW03 - Just after the first year of owning this machine, the metal hinge to the door cracked and the door didnt shut properly. It was replaced. After a couple of years, the bearings and drum of this machine failed. The cost for parts and repair were as much as the machine new. After repairs, the machine never ran quietly again. I have called for repair a second time for the same issue and he has confirmed that its the bearings again causing the drum to dislocate and hence, break the belt that I now need to replace. They do this in hope the consumer will purchase a new stove. The igniter in my stove has failed 6 times since I purchased it in 2005. I have had to replace it at my expense each time. The last time it failed, I asked Whirlpool if they would do a good faith gesture and replace it. They very rudely refused. I guess I am in the lucky group because my washer lasted about 3 years before the problems started. The latest is the lid lock light flashing, the machine doesnt go through full cycle but stops in the middle, doesnt spin and drain. Even before that the clothes didnt come out clean. The repairman said that this product is basically disposable and it makes more sense to buy a new washer than to invest in fixing this one because something else will break next.My old White Westinghouse lasted 18 years without one problem, Im sorry I wanted something new. What a pity that companies nowadays sell junk and the consumer has nowhere to go with a complaint. Im wondering if someone has the name and the address of the CEO of Whirlpool, I would like to ship that piece of junk to where it came from... it would be funny if other customers did the same. And I agree with other posts that class action suit would be in order... too bad nobody started it yet. We purchased Whirlpool Gold Accubake, double ovens (gas) in 2005. Since then, we have experienced identical failures (8 to date) during the self-cleaning cycle in which the high temperature burns out the thermal fuse of the ovens. This requires two Sears technicians to repair the unit (it requires two technicians to pull the oven out as the fuse location is in the back of the unit) and leaves us without use of both ovens for approximately 2 weeks (scheduling parts delivery and technicians through Sears home repair is not an expedient process). After checking other consumer product websites, it has become clear to me that there is a known design defect with these ovens in which the thermal fuse is not adequately insulated from the high temperatures during self clean; it therefore trips and burns out during the self-clean cycle. While not having access to ovens for about two weeks/year on average may sound acceptable to Sears, the reality is that the problem has escalated in frequency since purchase. In 2013, we are going on our third repair of the same problem (that makes 6 weeks of non-usable oven time in one year) and Sears will not consider replacing the unit, despite: 1) our obvious dissatisfaction with a lemon unit, 2) a well documented history of the defect with this particular Whirlpool oven and 3) an ongoing and escalating repair cost to Sears (it is under their extended warranty so the repair cost is on them although we did pay for this service up front on our appliances).I would stay away from not only Whirlpool appliances but also Sears as there doesnt seem to be any regard for the customer experience and taking care of a product problem (the right way) with a known defect. Sears has an opportunity to make this problem go away quite easily and retain a customer - fix the problem permanently or just replace the defective unit. Unfortunately, my experience to date with Sears standing behind the products they sell provides me with little confidence that either will happen.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer in May and it was the worst purchase we have ever made. We have had a technician out to our home three times. Whirlpool said that the next time the technician comes out to your house, you will have to pay for it and we have the extended warranty! The problems with the washing machine are many. 1. Leaves white streaks on dark clothes. 2. Not enough water covers the clothes, so clothes do not get clean. 3. The spin cycle is so violent that clothes are damaged. 4. The soak cycle is a joke. Soaking means to sit in water and soak. This machine drains the water so there is no soaking.5. With this very expensive machine, we can use only one cycle; bulky items on the low spin with a repeat rinse. The dryer is equally terrible. As I write this, I have two pairs of jeans going through the dryer for the third time. According to the technician, a heat sensor determines whether the clothes are dry. We have not had one load of laundry, big or small, that has dried in one cycle. But the technician said that this is how this machine works. We have tried all the cycles. According to Customer Service, the technicians found nothing wrong with the machines hence, we will have to pay for the next repair call. If you are looking at this machine and dryer, dont! Do not waste your money or your time. Washing laundry is a nightmare because the machines do not do what they are supposed to do --wash and dry the clothes.

Whirpool is the absolute worst home appliance company in both customer service and product. I would save my money and purchase any product other than a Whirlpool or Maytag. All of my appliances are a little over 5 years old and all have had multiple problems. Corporate takes the attitude of oh well, pay for the multiple repairs or buy new after 5 years or less. Ive never heard of disposable appliances, but Whirlpool has a full line of them! I would rate them less than 1 and just plain **!

Started researching online about a week ago because my dryer was making an awful noise. Found out that the new idler pulley system the company used in my Whirlpool cabrio washer & dryer model (WED5500XW0) was so ineffective that they have since started replacing it with the old part #691366 they used to use. Also I am having a problem with my washer not spinning all of the water out of the clothes. Found out that this is a common problem with this model (WTW5500XW0).Had a certified repairman out to replace the dryer idler pulley system. He also calibrated the washer to see if that may help (it did not). The repairman said that some of the Whirlpool washers had been recalled and he had actually replaced some control panels and that seemed to work. He suggested that I contact Whirlpool. So I contacted Whirlpool, thinking that they obviously knew that there have been many problems with these machines (idler pulley part being discontinued & and recall on SOME models), and thought they would be more than willing to rectify this problem. Well think again! The two young ladies that I spoke with sounded like robots, Unfortunately, you are not within your 1 year manufacturers warranty so there would be nothing we could do at this time. Although I must tell you, the second young lady I spoke with did offer to sell me a new washer at a deep discounted price of $386 (which is only $86 more than fixing the washer). I think everyone who has a problem should contact Whirlpool and express this dissatisfaction. And if you are shopping for a washer and dryer, stay away from Whirlpool because their customer service is disheartening.

WTW4950XW2 - I purchased My whirlpool washing machine wtw4950xw2 from best buy in 03/30 2013 and it just stop working after 3 yrs. The manufacture warranty was only good for 1 year. I think companies does that on purpose because they know these new equipments are not going to last. I think before they use to have at least a 3 yr or better warranty on appliances. First it started making this loud sound when on the spin cycle, so I had a repair guy come out. He told me that the bearings needed replaced so (how does bearings goes out in 3 yrs). I asked how much will it be to replace parts/labor. The Parts cost $250 and the labor is $200. I might as well buy a new washing machine. I am so disgusted with this machine. My previous Whirlpool, which was not the new modernized, I had for at least 12 years and also I bought a whirlpool dryer. My Dryer stills works after 15 yrs. Im going to try to hold on to the dryer until the long haul. I wish I just would have gotten my old washing machine fixed. Now Im looking for a new washer and I wont be doing a whirlpool or anything with a push to start - just a plain old agitator, no sensing mechanism, just basic.

I have had an extremely frustrating experience with Whirlpool refrigerator
I have had an extremely frustrating experience with Whirlpool refrigerator WRT311. It broke after 6 months. So far it has been diagnosed twice with a faulty compressor and leaking coolant. Whirlpool will (seemingly) never replace an appliance--even if it makes no sense to keep trying to fix it. This is a $600 refrigerator! I cant imagine how much they have spent in repair costs. They simply send a service tech time after time, jerking the consumer around with no regard for what we have to go through to arrange 6 tech visits, some of them multiple hours long. Yes, we have had six tech visits, for a total of 10+ hours, and six weeks living with a broken refrigerator. As well as 30+ phone calls, hours on hold, etc.The refrigerator is loudly throbbing away after being refilled with coolant twice, and is still leaking coolant. Are they hoping the customer just gives up and buys a new appliance on their own? I wonder about the many positive reviews of their appliances: Are they fake? Are they churned out by Whirlpool? I have no confidence in this company. They are inept, if not crooked, and I would advise buyers to beware of poor quality and extremely poor warranty and consumer service.

We just remodeled our kitchen and bought a Whirlpool kitchen suite in May of 2016. The refrigerator is absolutely terrible. I have had a repairman come out and fix the same repair/problem 5 times, a sheet of ice forms beneath the vegetable drawer (We have only owned the refrigerator for 5 months). Each time the repair person has come out it costs me a day of work due to having to wait all day for the repair service that Whirlpool hires out, well be there between 9am and 4pm. This morning I decided to check to see if the sheet of ice is forming again, it is. So I call Whirlpool again.Again, I call Whirlpool and ask if I can just get a new unit; 5 repairs in 5 months on a brand new refrigerator. The reply I get from Whirlpool is always well send someone out to fix it. The unit has to be deemed irreparable or a part has to be replaced multiple times. No parts are being replaced... no one knows how to fix it. I dont understand why a large company like Whirlpool would want people to write bad reviews for their products and customer service. Im extremely irritated with how I have been treated. I just want a refrigerator that works!! DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR!!

We bought the microwave new after the 2011 flood where we had lost everything in Tennessee. I wanted to get Whirlpool appliances in the kitchen so all appliances were replaced. We bought a Whirlpool model WMH1163XVU-1 microwave; the unit will run but doesnt heat. I also called Whirlpool and with no regard to customer service at all even with all the complaints... This saddens me because I will never buy a Whirlpool appliance again and my grandparents only believed in them... With all the complaints, the attorney generals office should do something for the people.

Whirlpool ED5FVGXWS refrigerator compressor failed after 24 months. No help from Whirlpool as the said 12-month warranty had run out. I do understand it’s my bad luck, but they really should try harder to back the products they make. Two years on a compressor is totally unacceptable. They could care less. I even proposed a $200 rebate on a new Whirlpool fridge. My bad luck wasn’t the compressor going out, it was buying the fridge in the first place. Shame on you Whirlpool! Viva la Mexico! They told me I could use it as a boat anchor.

Oh my goodness, are these people right with the Whirlpool Ranges. I moved and put in the appliance # to get what I had from Whirlpool. What a piece of crap I got in a range and refrigerator. Never had appliances that looked so pathetic. You cant clean the outsides or the insides. Outsides nothing but streaks never look shiny, I really do doubt they are even close to Stainless steel. My old ones I might add were less than 5 years old when we sold our house and all you had to do was spray with Windex and shine shine shine. Try that on the new ones streak streak streak, and nothing ticks me off more than looking in a kitchen and looks like pigs are running all over your stuff. Then the range aqua lift self clean. You have gotta be kidding. No self clean about it. Scrub Scrub Scrub by hand. You mean who in the hell came up with this. Make something with fat and instant burned mess. Really oil and water or grease and water where I come from they never mixed, and all they do is get gummy. Now if you dont care how your oven or outsides look then I guess it doesnt matter BUT I DO, I am with the guy that said he just wants to throw it out. I would have been better off buying a clean your own. At least you could use oven cleaner. I dont know where these companies are coming from ripping people off this bad, now that I am older I am stuck with it and can hardly clean it to get down in there. You make supper and you have to spend 2 hours extra in the kitchen scrubbing the damn thing. Of course you give a company loyalty and get screwed this bad. All my self cleaning ovens I had when we sold houses the people thought you never cooked in them. This is not even a year and a half old and looks like it is 10 years old. Even scrubbing it is a joke. You cant get it all anyway. Im sure I will not live with this long. I use to love to cook even did it for a living and man using this thing I hate cooking more than ever.

We bought this washer on 9/05/09. Recently, it sprung a leak due to a worn out seal that the repairman said would cost more to fix than just getting another washer. You would think this might be cause for distress, but I literally jumped in the air and clicked my heels with joy! This washer has been nothing but a pain. First of all, I have to pre-soak every load before washing or the clothes come out just as dirty as they went in. I would set the timer on my stove to let me know when the 40 min soak cycle ended so I could change it to wash. Then I reset the timer for another 40 minutes. I also learned the hard way, that using any kind of heavy duty setting would turn towels into a pile of yarn. This washer cost $998, and guilt is the only reason I didnt replace it years ago. Ding Dong the washer is DEAD!!!

Bought new Whirlpool duet washer 4.0 couple years ago. Started making load noise. Started checking and its the rear bearing and sounds of it will cost more to replace than to buy a new one. Found this page and after reading review after review, I will not spend a dime to fix the junk product from Whirlpool. Going to put in the dumpster and never buy another Whirlpool product. I have never seen so many complaints about a product and many being the same bearing problem. Where is our recall process? Its ok to rip off people over and over with no consequence. And why do large chains keep their product? Guess theyre in on the rip off.

I submitted a complaint several days ago about my 3-year old Whirlpool Duet washer not working and costing $550 to fix. I decided to just replace it so my husband unhooked it this morning. We were going to to try to sell it on Craigslist as is. I pulled out the laundry detergent compartment to clean it because I had filled it with detergent and fabric softener the other day. The smell that came from inside the washer where the detergent is dispensed was awful. I looked inside and it was completely filled with mold. I had periodically run the clean cycle with bleach but apparently this did nothing. I am writing this second review to warn people about this. I am going to just trash the washer now and I hope this has not affected our health in any way. For those of you who are thinking about purchasing this washer or one similar, I strongly urge you to stick with the plain old top loader. That is what I am going back to.

We bought this microwave/hood combo at Home Depot and installed it in our second home roughly 16 months ago. We used it very little over that period because the home is only for vacations. The plastic handle began to disintegrate where it connects to the door (top and bottom) to the point where there is very little plastic remaining. We called the service center and the woman attending to us told us she had never heard of that happening before. Either she had just started working there that day, or she was lying because there are dozens of similar complaints on this very website.I do not understand what is to gain by denying a manufacturing defect. It simply makes no sense to me that a company would allow their reputation be so tarnished. What an ignorant and short-sighted business practice. I will never, ever buy another product from this company. I will also be sure to tell anyone who will listen what I think of the shabby service they gave us.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio in 2009. It worked so-so over the years but recently stopped completing cycles, citing false load balance errors and leaving towels and sheets sopping wet at the end of a cycle. Three repair appointments later, and still no success. I am thoroughly disgusted that such an expensive machine only lasts four years. I bought my house in 2009, and the previous owner bought this refrigerator in 2005. By 2012 The light and temperature read out went out. A circuit board had to be replaced. I have a home service company that I pay for yearly which takes care of the appliances. As usual, the fine print on the back of the contract said circuit boards were not covered. When I went online to purchase the part, the cheapest I could find it was $180. My service company said they would not cover it because they break down so frequently, with Whirlpool as the biggest offender. They gave me a discount and charged me $125 for the replacement. Whirlpool is making a fortune on these defective parts, which last long enough during the warranty period, and then you are on your own.In 2015, after the refrigerator was 10 years old, the compressor died. Hundreds of dollars of food spoiled. My service company said I was covered for the replacement, but I would have to wait 5-7 days for the part to come in. I was so furious that a refrigerator of this age would break down on me. The repairman told me he has seen these Whirlpools break down after 5 years. He said they are junk. When I was young, we moved into a new 20 story building in 1963. All the apartments had the same refrigerator made by Frigidaire. I lived there for 26 years. When I moved out in 1989, that refrigerator was still there working perfectly. It never needed a repair. I never heard anyone complain about theirs either. How is it that in 1963 a company could build a workhorse of a refrigerator, but in 2005, Whirlpool, a company in business since about 1911 makes this junk? I will never buy a Whirlpool product, and will tell the world not to do so as well.

Owner of 20 apartments, 16 of them have electric water heaters and 4 have natural gas units. Have replaced over the years all 20 water heaters. 19 of them were replaced with Whirlpool units bought at our local Lowes. It is my opinion that they are very unreliable. The tanks rust out in NO time. The electric units last just a little better than the gas units but still terrible. Of the 4 gas units so far I have had to replace 3 of them and the longest one lasted 6 years and 7 months!! One of them was just over 6 years and the other was 9 days away from warranty expiring. They replaced that one. If you have no other choice make sure to buy extended warranty if available. They just dont last!!

Model ED5PVEXWS14/Whirlpool Stainless Steel side-by-side refrigerator purchased from Lowes: My wife and I purchased this refrigerator from Lowes as a part of a kitchen renovation project. It was delivered by Lowes and worked great. The shelving cracked at the back as other owners experienced, but I blamed that on kids and was fine with ordering replacement parts online. Fast forward to the present and a year later, everything is working fine. Out of the blue it quit cooling or freezing on 6/12/13. I thought it was a capacitor problem, but since we purchased the refrigerator on 4/28/12, we decided to have a repairman come out and check. When he accessed it, he found that the compressor was bad. He stated every once in while you get a fridge with a bad compressor. He also said I just happened to have the particular refrigerator he sees frequently. I normally buy all Whirlpool products - microwaves, washer and dryer, dishwasher, my old refrigerator (still working at my relatives house), and my daughters college fridge. This is the first time I have experienced something of this nature with a Whirlpool product and hope I can work out a resolution with them or Lowes.

We had purchased matching Whirlpool Cabrio HE washer and gas dryer. Both appliances were worthless. Same problems as everyone else. Clothes did not come clean. Had to put it on bulky items just to clean the clothes due to lack of water. Funny how all the older machines that actually put water into the machine cleaned clothes. Went through a motherboard (computer) for both the washer and dryer at $250 each. Washer had repairman out at least 12 times over 3 years. Never again would I purchase a Whirlpool. We went to our local appliance dealer and purchased a Speed Queen. These are like the older ones. THEY WORK! They use the correct amount of water and wash your clothes in half the time. 22 minutes per load! You can open the lid while the water is running in and load your clothes. Gee, what a concept. Only company still making them in Wisconsin, United States. Go Wisconsin! They back their product with a 20 year warranty. What?? Who does that anymore? Companies who stand behind their product.
