LG Dishwasher Model LDT6809BD Error Codes

CODE: IE
PROBLEM: Not filling
FIX: Check that the water supply cut-off valve for the dishwasher is fully open. Check the water inlet supply hose for a kink. Unplug the dishwasher, shut off the water supply and disconnect the inlet supply hose from the inlet water valve. Check the filter screen on the inlet water valve for a clog-replace the valve if the filter screen is clogged.

CODE: OE
PROBLEM: Not draining
FIX: Check the sink drain or garbage disposal for a clog and clear any clogs you find. If the sink or garbage disposal drains okay, pull off the dishwasher drain hose from the sink or garbage disposal connection and check the end of the drain hose for a grease clog. Clear grease clogs from the drain hose. If the dishwasher uses an air gap, check the air gap for clogs and clear any clogs.

CODE: AE or E1
PROBLEM: Water leak detected
FIX: Abnormally high circulation pump speed caused by low water level in the tub can cause the AE or E1 error codes. Water that leaks into the base of the dishwasher cabinet and trips the flood switch can also cause the AE or EI code. Unplug the dishwasher and shut off the water supply. Check the dishwasher cabinet base for water. If water leaked into the base, find and repair the cause of the leak. Water could leak from the water fill line, water inlet guide, drain pump, drain hose, door seals or sump.

CODE: FE
PROBLEM: Water overflow detected
FIX: The drain pump automatically runs when the FE code is displayed. A leaking water inlet valve or a stuck relay on the electronic control board can allow water to fill the dishwasher constantly. To check for a leaky water inlet valve, unplug the dishwasher and see if the tub continues to fill with water. If it does, shut off the water supply and replace the water inlet valve because the valve is letting water to flow into the dishwasher constantly.

CODE: tE
PROBLEM: Thermistor (temperature sensor) failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and disconnect the wires from the thermistor on the heater. Measure the resistance through the thermistor using a multimeter. The meter should measure 11,320 ohms at 75 degrees (room temperature). Replace the heater assembly (which includes the thermistor) if the meter measures less than 1,000 ohms or more than 20,000 ohms.

CODE: LE
PROBLEM: Locked up circulation pump motor
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check for an obstruction that's preventing the pump impeller from spinning. Remove any debris or foreign objects from the sump. If the pump impeller is clear, check the wiring connections on the pump and reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the wire harness from the motor and check the resistance through pins 1-2, pins 2-3 and pins 1-3 of the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure between 8 and 20 ohms (resistance of the motor windings).

CODE: HE
PROBLEM: Heater failure
FIX: This code appears when water isn't heating or when the thermistor (temperature sensor) detects that water temperature is higher than 194 degrees. If water inside the dishwasher tub is extremely hot, measure water temperature using an accurate thermometer. If the thermometer measures water temperature near 190 degrees, then you'll likely need to replace the electronic control board because a stuck heater relay on the control board is causing the heating element to stay on constantly.

CODE: nE
PROBLEM: Diverter motor failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check the wire harness connections on the diverter motor and diverter position switch. Reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the diverter motor wires and check resistance through the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure around 4,000 ohms of resistance. Replace the diverter motor if the meter measure infinite resistance.

Our LG refrigerator has been going strong for over 10 years. Since our kitchen is small, we were limited in the size of refrigerator that we could purchase. LG fits in the kitchen perfectly and for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids, we are able to fit all of items that we need in it. One feature that we love to this day is its ability to produce cubed or crushed ice. It is roomy and easy to clean. Another feature is that fingerprints do not show on the front exterior, which is great when you have little kids.

Bought a TV in August 2020. After 3 repair attempts over 6 months, LG finally agreed to refund my money. With much effort, I packed up the TV and sent it back months ago and still havent seen my refund. Had three repair attempts on my refrigerator and its finally fixed (I guess). But were still out $750 for lost food. Now, my 27 month old dishwasher has a control problem and rusted out rack. Both controls and rack have a 5 year warranty but I have to call some appliance-fix-it place to get them to look at it. I bet I get no repair, no parts no-nothing and a lot of wasted time for this. I have $15,000 worth of LG equipment in this house and they arent the least bit interested in helping me. I wont buy another piece of equipment from them again.

LG WT4870C top loading washing machine has been a nightmare since we bought it. It started by ripping our clothing and then shaking violently. They came out initially and changed the drum. That took care of the ripping problem though they did not reimburse us for the clothing. It did not take care of the shaking problem which has become very violent. Please never, never buy an LG product.

As many others have stated, if I could provide zero stars I would!!! Do not buy even if other reviews are good. Its not if its when your product will default. Weve had our LG refrigerator for less than 3 years, and bought the extended warranty. Unfortunately, its been nothing but trouble. We are currently out of a refrigerator and LG still has yet to come up with a solution or a reliable repair company. The first issue was the fan in the freezer compartment which was fixed and covered under warranty. Now its the compressor, which for anyone thats not aware does have a 5-year manufacturer warranty that we would not have known until someone told us and it wasnt LG. The company that LG contracted out came to repair (the company actually had horrible reviews online) but guess what folks our refrigerator still is not working and we are at 4 weeks. I would like to add for anyone experiencing issues to file a complaint with the BBB which I just finished. Its too soon to determine if this will help mitigate the process but its worth pursuing. We spend entirely way too much for a product that does not work.

Our LG dishwasher has never (since the day we had it installed) cleaned our dishes or dried them. I first noticed that after carefully rinsing all residue off my dishes, they still were dirty after running them through the normal cleaning cycle. I then washed my dishes and started using the power scrub feature every time and noticed the dishes had either food or soap reside on them and were never hot or dry after the washer stopped. I have to pre-wash everything I put into it and wipe off the soap afterward even though I use Jet-Dry. My dishes are barely warm when the 2-hour power scrub cycle is finished. I called LG support and after several questions, I realized that the customer service rep was going through a checklist in order to troubleshoot the root cause of the problem. She asked if I had cleaned the unit by the manual instructions to make sure there was no food debris clogging (YES). She asked if I used the proper detergent and if my washer actually had power to it (Yes and yes). She asked if I used the power scrub feature. She wanted to know if my dishwasher was connected to my garbage disposal? She said I had to check the line to make sure it was clear, but she told me that there was no way for me to do that other than looking at the line - REALLY? She told me that I obviously needed a technician to come out for the price of $85.00 to diagnose and probably more than $250.00 for parts and labor. She also told me that I could not talk to a technician or anyone else other than her over the phone.Weve had nothing but trouble from our LG refrigerator as well - having had to replace the water line 4 TIMES before the fridge actually stopped working and then had to pay LG for a new motherboard. I will NEVER again buy another LG appliance. Customer service is POOR at best and appliance functionality is a joke.

The 10 year warranty LG highlights on their compressor is misleading. We spent $2300 on an LG French door refrigerator in late November 2015, it stopped cooling in February 2018 (26 months). Two techs found the compressor failed. While the part is covered, the $600-$800 in labor is not. After reading other nightmares, we opted to buy a new fridge (NOT an LG) and contact an attorney. I would not recommend LG refrigerators nor will I ever buy an LG product again.

I purchased a brand new LG refrigerator for $1,500. Refrigerator suddenly stopped working last week, spoiling hundreds of dollars of food! Called a repairman who made an in-house visit and LG customer support, both confirmed that I need a new compressor. LG confirmed that compressor is covered by 7 year warranty but labor charges are my responsibility. They provided me with a couple of authorized repair places to call. I received several quotes for labor ranging from $650-$850! The refrigerator isn’t even worth that! LG has refused to do anything to fix or compensate for this!!! What a scam, I demand a full refund and will be joining a class action suit against LG for this fraud and encourage all to the same immediately! I purchased a French-door refrigerator. 8 months later, theres no ice maker. Then 1 day after, no freezer. I lost $200.00 worth of food, and no tech was available for 9 days. Finally, a repairman came and said it was too close to the wall and pulled it out and left. It was still not working, so the repairman came back 3 days later. He replaced something to check for leaks and said it should be better in 12 to 24 hours. 24 hours later, it was still not working. Then 45 days later, the repairman returned and said the compressor was no good and that he cannot replace for 5 days. In the meantime we have no refrigerator, he said that he recommended to LG that they replace the refrigerator but they refused.I will never ever buy an LG appliance. It is 4 weeks now with no refrigerator or freezer and living out of a cooler. And customer service says.So what? You have to wait for us to get the parts and service it. They are very rude people. I will never give LG another penny of my hard-earned money. I will let you know if replacing the compressor works.

Then the lights in the refrigerator had to be replaced. Now corrosion in the control panel on front of door. The corrosion has now gone up so far you cannot turn the alarm off. Ive called LG several times and if I dont mind paying for a service call they will send someone out to look at it. Wish I had kept my old refrigerator I gave away. Its still working really well. For the second time in 6 months, a drawstring from two different pairs of shorts was trapped in the door hinge while the dryer was running causing several pieces of clothing to get caught on the string and twist into a tight knot. Both times I found the dryer stopped and the door open. OK. But try to get the drawstring out of the hinge! I worked for 15 minutes both times. LG NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. There is nothing in their literature that says you may not put items with drawstrings in the dryer. I had a beautiful 1993 Maytag for 27 years and this NEVER happened.

Never heard from them again. 16th October 3rd complaint technician attended and told me that the fridge was unfixable. That it would need to be replaced. Waited 2 weeks. Heard nothing, contacted the “customer care line” they told me I had refused to allow it to be fixed. You tell me. What sane person refuses to have their fridge fixed?2/12 4th technician attended took photos, was here for 2 minutes and left. Every couple of days I have contacted the so called customer care team and they tell me that the technician hasn’t sent a report. The technician tells me he has and has sent it also to the state manager. Every two days I get told someone will call me back. NOBODY has ever called me back. The glass top is so much easier to keep clean than traditional burners. The self cleaning feature works wonderfully when you follow directions. Purchased LG fridge couple years ago from Home Depot on clearance. Nice, big, spacious. The ice maker has a silly ice plus button to make more ice. First, the ice compartment is small so the ice plus button is really needed to be on all the time. Second, ice plus button turns off automatically. So if you use a lot ice dont buy one that has an ice plus button. LG should have an ice maker that does not need an ice plus button. Thirdly, the so called water filters you have to purchase from home depot are not oem filters. The OEM filters are high priced and need to be changed every three months to get the water to dispense like it did when it was new. I will not purchase another LG ice & water dispenser on a fridge. For future reference buy simple less headaches.

We bought our second LG. The first a top load steam washer and now a front loader. We bought it in 2014. And it has practically ruined our towels. Regardless of how many times I clean it with the clean option or wipe it down, it breeds mold and mildew. All of our towels stink like mold. There is nothing worse than getting out of the shower and drying off with a freshly laundered plush cotton towel and have it REEK of mold. Its disgusting. This model isnt covered in their recall, but $35 doesnt even touch what I paid for my towels. Their QC department needs to work with their engineering department and offer a fix to this issue for consumers.

I bought a home last year which came with the LG TruBalance top load washer
I bought a home last year which came with the LG TruBalance top load washer. I began having issues immediately with the “UE” code. It did not matter how large or small the load was, this code would come up every time I used the machine. I was constantly having to babysit the machine, re-distributing the clothes over & over again just to finally get one load done, taking close to 2 hours sometimes longer just to do one load. A lot of times I could see dry spots on the clothing, or I could see that the clothing was not clean. I had a repairman come who told me the issue was the computer software & that it would be better for me to replace this part rather than buying a whole new machine. I purchased the part & for a month I had no issues. Then the machine began to leak water from underneath, soaking my floor & also my dryer. Also, the dreaded “UE” code made a comeback, causing the machine to continue to refill with water repeatedly, start to spin, then flash the error code. I am so fed up with this machine that I have ordered a new Whirlpool with agitator just like I used to have. This LG is by far the worst machine I have ever owned, & I will not be buying any other LG appliances in the future.

Hundreds of thousands of these machines were recalled for going out of balance however mine was not the correct serial number even though it had the same problem. LG was useless at helping and none of the local service repair people would even touch an LG appliance unless they sold it themselves and even then they preferred not to work on them. I had to throw the washer away even though it was less than two years old (it started going uneven after 14 months so my one year warranty was no good). Never buy an LG anything.

We purchased our LG Electric Range November 2011. The oven was in need of cleaning, so I started the self-cleaning feature as I have done 2 or 3 times previously. The door locked and the cleaning began. When it was done, even after cooling off. The door is still locked shut and the whole control panel is blacked out, rendering the stove top useless as well. There is absolutely nothing working. We checked the breaker and all connections. Everything is in order. So we called our local repair company and they told us that they have had multiple calls about this same issue. My husband called LG and spoke with a couple of people there including a manager. The first person told us that the self-cleaning feature should be used every couple of months to keep it working properly. We told her that it doesnt say that anywhere in the manual. Basically they said, Sorry we cant help you. This is an engineering defect. And should be taken care of by LG. The lady from our repair company said that on some of the ranges, the cook top has cracked because of the heat. We are very disappointed in this company. And will never buy LG products again.

I bought the LG model LDF7932ST in 2006. It was supposed to be top of the line. Quiet, efficient, etc. and expensive - $1200. From day one, it was noisy and the smell was so bad when I ran it, I would set it to go on at 2 am when I was sleeping. Not to mention, it took 2 hours. It made all kinds of noises. The smell was vile. Then the bottom rack was always getting stuck on the door seal gasket on bottom right. Then the damn wheels would come off. Couldnt move the basket in or out. I would always have to push the bottom draw towards the left, be very careful with it. It was extremely annoying. Always getting stuck. Now the strip of metal that holds the rubber seal has actually come off of the side of the inside liner. Now I cant even push the draw in or out at all. Spoke to tech. He confirmed over the phone that it could not be fixed and that he had seen it before. So now I have to buy a new dishwasher and it wont be an LG. This is a flaw in their design. Bought a Kenmore french door SS fridge for my son less than 4 years ago. Its made by LG. A week ago it stopped working. Had an ex-LG service rep, now an independent repairman, come out to fix it. He made 5 trips. Each time thinking it was a different circuit board after talking with the LG tech department. In the end, he determined it was the compressor that had failed. Most folks Ive talked to said its not worth fixing, just buy a new fridge. From this site, it seems that this is a fairly common problem, and that LG makes a deficient product. Every other fridge Ive owned (and I have 5 rental properties in addition to our own home) have lasted just about forever. Lesson: stay away from LG products!

This microwave has a 10 year warranty on the inverter. I’ve had this microwave for less than two years and the inverter has stopped working. I contacted LG and was given three LG approved companies to contact for the warranty work. Each company told me the labor cost would be more than the microwave was worth. I contacted LG again and was told there was nothing they could do, and I should buy a new microwave at my own cost. I purchased this microwave because of the advertised warranty. Given that labor costs likely always exceed the purchase price of the microwave, this warranty is designed to be unusable. What a scam.

Oh boy!!! Thank goodness i read these reviews. A few weeks ago i cooked spaghetti and the lg micro above the stove stopped working - control panel out except for : showing. Inside light still on. Left it alone and next morning i played around with door. Voila - number 8 came up on its own. Then one by one things began working again. Last night i cooked spaghetti again. Yep - did it again. Mind you - i am NOT using the micro to cook. But the micro gets so hot from the oven and i believe overheats the micro panel. Again, i unplugged it and went to bed. This morning it again took some fiddling and eventually a beep. So i was able to turn on the light (my main purpose in needing it to work - i need a light on that side of the kitchen). So i reset the time, etc. But as i am reading these scary reviews, the number 2 just popped onto the screen. After reading these reviews, i know it will eventually stop all together. But why i am SO glad that i read these comments is that i will now unplug it whenever i go out or go to bed at night. LG needs to step up to the plate and do a mass recall with a free replacement of another brand until they can get it right. Obviously no one wants another one of these. Who is with me on a class action suit?Thank you all for taking the time to report the extreme dangers of this unit. You probably just saved my house from burning down!!

Holy cow! What a terrible unit under warranty. We had a problem with the fan making noise. Turns out the service tech could not find the problem. The 3rd service call lg put out a service bulletin on fan noise/freezing. The part to fix it was 325.00 plus service call. We said ok if it fixes the problem. It still does it. Of course out of warranty now. Only way to stop it is to unplug it every 4 months for 36 hours. What a piece of junk.

Bought the LG Top Load Washer and Dryer in February and the worst mistake Ive ever made. I hate the washer, it is not efficient, and does not get my clothes clean. Never fails I get the UE error and always having to readjust my laundry only to find I have to do it again. If I dont pre-spot all stains they will not come out. I spend more time restarting and waiting for laundry to finish than anything else. I will never buy a LG product again. I hate this machine so much I wish I didnt have to give it a star. BTW spent the last 3 hrs trying to wash one set of queen size sheets.

I purchased an LG refrigerator. It was the four model. I took it home and it didn’t work. LG sent out a tech. The tech broke it even more. I told LG to send out somebody from a different company. A guy came out about 10 times. Then I finally told him that I just wanna get rid of it. He got in contact with LG, LG told me to send over a letter with a stamp on it from the inside of the fridge. I mailed that off a couple of days ago and Im just waiting to get my refund. Now, I’ve got a broken fridge sitting inside of my kitchen that I have to somehow dispose of.

I bought Brand New LG Refrigerator last year MAY 2018, and now its compressor goes bad on May 26th, 2019 - In one year. I have called LG numerous time. Their Tech show up with new Compressor. Goes bad again after 3 days. Tech came back again, replace compressor after a week but not cooling. Now the Tech visit 5th time as of today 07/08/2019 - NOT ABLE TO FIX THE ISSUES, 41 days pass by...So, here are my comments: Buy LG, if you dont want to be with your wife. Buy LG, if you dont want to feed your kids healthy food - almost a month I am feeding them Junk. Buy LG, If you want to listen their customer service BS and oh sorry sorry again and again. Buy LG, if you need to take off from your work just to stay with LG tech. Buy LG, if you want your whole house smell like Freon GAS while tech is on working. Buy LG, if you want to see black sticky stuff all around your house due to Tech soldering the new compressors and freezer lines. Buy LG, if you like to listen LG customer support every time saying, Sir this is our last time to trying to Fix and then will replace your unit with New one. BS Please Please. LG is a pain and worst company for home appliances. Life Sucksss.. :( They should NOT allowed to sell their products in U.S. consumers.

I bought my LG washer, model #WM2016CW, on 5/17/2008. I have noticed all along that the clothes have this odor to them and then it transfers to the dryer but I kept doing the cleaning cycle and it worked for about a week then back to that smell. I tried every HE detergent I could find but the same results. But today was a whole new problem. I put the laundry in and went about doing my cleaning. I went down to the laundry room to change the clothes into the dryer and there was a mess on the floor; it was glass. I thought maybe a light broke but this was thick clear glass. I could not believe what I saw. The glass front of the washer burst into pieces and I had chunks of glass everywhere. The strange thing is that the washer had finished its cycle and the clothes were all done so this must have happened after the clothes finished. There was not a drop of water anywhere. I am still in shock that this happened but with LG anything can happen. I am told I will have to pay for a service man plus parts and LG will not give me any answers. They told me to call Sears, the place where I purchased it, and go through them. Sears gave me the runaround also. They told me that I would have to pay $75 just for a person to come out to look at it and then it could cost up to $350 depending on the cause. The whole door may have to be replaced and they have to try to find the cause which it sounds like they dont have a clue. So the washer is sitting in the laundry room and I am out looking for a new washer. I do not trust this washer at all after the explosion. I am writing my Attorney General and letting him know about this and many other things about LG products. I also own an LG gas stove. It is almost two years old and I have had LG people replacing the glass window. This has been ongoing since I bought the stove. There is a leak in the glass oven door and it just keeps fogging up and food particles get in between the glass door and oven door. What a piece of junk that cost me $1100. LG refuses to do anything about it so my husband and I keep taking the glass off and cleaning it and it is not an easy thing to do. I will never buy another LG product and I will tell everyone I know not to buy LG. They sent one guy over and he put the glass back wrong. All I can say is that LG is getting a bad reputation and if they dont get it right, then they will soon be out of business. I just finished reading 800 reviews of LG ovens and they were not good at all; most of them real bad. What is wrong with the LG company? Are they that stupid not to see what people are saying about their product? I will try to find a new washer made in the good old USA.

My LG refrigerator LDC22735SW has broken down three times in five years, once while under warranty. Presently, the fridge is sitting in my garage due to me refusing to spend any more money to repair this junk. The last time an authorized LG technician inspected the fridge and gave me a list of parts amounting to $386.55 plus $100 service charge only to see if a compressor is needed or not. I have not been able to get a repair manual or parts to repair the fridge myself. I am very near writing LG = Lemon on the fridge and putting it in front of my yard to become part of the landscape. How did we come to be sitting ducks?!

We purchased an entire set. (Refrigerator; double range oven; microwave; dishwasher.) We moved into our house and did major renovations before installing the new appliances. Now it’s over a year and we finally had the contractors put everything into our renovated kitchen. The dishwasher is not running properly. The range is leaking gas out of the burners. This is simply ridiculous. I called LG to see if they can send out a technician and they want to charge me $250 to send someone to look at things. They said it’s out of warranty. But the items are still new and freshly out of the box. So the issue is with LG items! The products have a nice appearance but don’t work properly. Is this a scam to get you to buy the extended warranty?? I paid almost 6k and they still want to charge me to fix something that is new.

The refrigerator is side by side, 27 cubic foot capacity and without the water and ice in the door feature. It has been a good refrigerator but not a great one. The price was what I was willing to pay and it got ok reviews from Consumer Reports. I would have liked the capacity to have been greater. If anything I would have expected that it would have been better made. I bought the refrigerator because it was on sale at Home Depot and they offered free delivery and installation. We purchased an LG French Door Refrigerator with water & ice maker in November 2009. We recently had problems with both the fridge & the freezer not cooling. We bought the fridge from Sears, so we spoke to the Sears parts service & told them what the issues were. They suggested a part that they felt would solve the problem. So we ordered the part & put it in. This part did not help the situation. After 2 days, the fridge stopped working all together. We lost all the food in the fridge & the freezer. We called a local repairman to come & look at it. He said there was a leak of freon in the seal system. It was not something he could fix. He said that in the 40 years he has serviced refrigerators, this was the only time he came across this issue. Especially with a 5.5 yr. old unit.So we called LG & they said they would replace the seal system, but we would have to pay the labor since their 1 year warranty ran out. The repairman had told us that they would have to take the fridge apart completely to find the leak, if they could indeed find it & that it could take hours to do. We explained all this to LG & said that was all they could do for us. Really? We paid $2000 for the unit & it is 5.5 yrs old. I would think something that was supposedly worth that kind of money would last much longer than that & LG would be willing to do more to rectify the situation. Dont buy an LG product! They dont live up to their name!

I purchased an LG top load washer in the summer of 2014. This machine has been the cause of so many headaches and so much frustration. My daughter texts me every time she uses the machine to tell me how much she hates it. I have had the technician to the house three times in the past year and a half. They have replaced the motherboard, motor, rotor, power cord and on and on... and it still does not work. It gives UE, OE and IE messages with every load. I have read the manual. Made sure everything was level, all water filters are clean and clear of debris and have researched these problems on the Internet. There is no solution. The machine is a lemon, a piece of junk. It has been since Day 1. It is the single biggest waste of money in the 20 years I have owned a home! LG has permanently lost this customer FOR LIFE! If I could leave zero stars, I would.

I thought LG was a reliable brand so we purchased a brand new refrigerator in 2015. Starting this year the food has not been kept as cold and the defroster keeps failing to the point where the fan keeps rattling due to ice build up. Been dealing with the issue for months and still waiting for the issue to be resolved via a technician who says he is so inundated with LG refrigerator problems, he can barely keep up with the demand. He received several calls for appointments even while at my house working in my refrigerator. I’ve basically decided to continue try fixing this fridge and using it as a beat up back up fridge now in the garage. I will be looking into other reliable brands to replace the refrigerator inside the kitchen. I’m tired of my food going bad and having to unplug the fridge every 2-3 weeks to defrost until the issue is resolved.

I WAS in love with my new fridge. The 25 cu ft. capacity is just the right size for my family of 5. (We also have a deep chest freezer for handling all the meat, icecream tubs, etc). The dual ice makers really come in handy when the ice maker on the door cannot handle the load. (Its quite small, so in summer months, or with guest over, you run out of ice quickly). It has plenty of space and looks gorgeous. Flash forward 4 months 2 weeks later... compressor goes out. I call LG about this issue... and the frustration begins. The incompetent reps on phone tell me that the reason my fridge is not cooling is because I have the temp setting at 2 degrees instead of at 0 degrees for the freezer, and 37 degrees instead of 35 for the upper portion. Ok, a whole two degrees will make my fridge cool. Then they went on to perform this gimmicky smart diagnoses that the unit is equipped with. She did not want to sent a technician out because the smart dx told her that there was nothing wrong with the fridge. Meanwhile there is water all over my kitchen floor because all the ice was thawing and melting out of the unit. I called on a wed. On a Friday a certified LG tech came out. Told me the compressor is dead and that it would be Monday before he could repair it. So now I have been without a fridge for days, with 3 young children in the house.I have called LG and voiced the fact that this is unacceptable for a 2k fridge. The rep proceeded to tell me I would only have to pay for service call! How is it that when you are still under warranty you have to pay for the service call? The technician shook his head in dismay. He could not believe what he was seeing. I placed the call on speaker for him to listen to the ridiculousness by the rep. After my unit seemed defective, I went online and have read tons of reviews on LG fridges needing major repair within the year, and am afraid I was sold a lemon. I want a replacement or my money back. They have not contacted me. I have called and have been hung up on. I was also hung up on, right in front of the technician! You think you are buying a nice piece from a reputable trustworthy company, and the fact is all the contrary. I am so disappointed.

Acquired a LG washer model WT1101CW, 2/4/14 from Stine in Broussard, Louisiana. Washer broke November 2015. The warranty that we bought from Stine was through NSI Protection Plus at the same time. They sold the contract to Warrantech 800-279-1662. Our washer broke again March 24, 2016 (same problem) over a week ago and on the same day a call was made to Warrantech and A&E to get our washer fixed. Someone came out and ordered the parts. The parts came through UPS 4 days later and meanwhile we wait 3 days until today to have the repair done. Took off of work (self-employed) and waited from 8:00 to 3:00 p.m. Somehow Sears is involved with A&E and the guy states that the parts are partially broken and that the order is incomplete. He also stated that he would not be able to do the repair because he is with Sears and they do not get paid through Warrantech - What is up with this? Meanwhile I call Stine rep and Warrantech calls me and I tell him how crazy all of this is and he hangs up on me!

We purchased our LG machine from Home Depot online, September 2013. Although I do not like how the machine operates (cannot fill) (never enough water) (takes forever to wash a load), it stopped emptying April 26, 2015. We called for service which was to take place on April 29. It was determined the machine needed a new pump. It was ordered that day and was to be in in 3-5 business days. After waiting 10 days, we called Diamond Warranty service. We were told the part was ordered and there was nothing else they could do about it. We then called Home Depot and when they checked, they found the part had been backordered and then reordered and again should be in in 3-5 business days. It finally came in May 15. We set up the repair for May 19. I took off work because my husband was in court all day. At 7:30 on the 19th, they called and said the repairman was ill and rescheduled to Thursday, May 21. On May 21, they called and said the person would be out the rest of the week and could reschedule next week after Monday. I have now been without a washer for 25 days. Home Depot said they can do nothing but file a report against Diamond warranty and it will take one to two business days for a supervisor to respond. When I called LG they said they were very sorry and could only do the same. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they asked me to stay on the line. I held for 13 minutes and then hung up. Obviously neither LG nor Home Depot care. I want out of the extended warranty and they can take the washer and shove it because neither are any good. I have been to the laundromat 4-5 times and spent 11 to 15 dollars each time and still have no washer. I will never buy anything from LG or Home Depot again. Even if they do come out next Wednesday, it will have been 31 days without a washing machine. This is ridiculous!

This was the number one rated range on several different websites so I thought Id found a winner. Ive had nothing but problems since the day this was delivered and the worst part is that LG has the WORST customer service department I have ever had to deal with. A recent chat representative even wrote that she will go one step a time for me reading from the manual. I have a masters degree in nursing, I can read directions! The stove comes set up for natural gas and it took 2 technicians almost 2 hours to get this set up and installed. Cost me an additional $320 and yes, these were experienced technicians from a reputable company, but very little is known about this model. First issue was that the ultraheat burner would not ignite and had a flare up issue when it did. I had to get approval from LG for a service call and again, even the company of their choice knew very little about this stove. He had to call LG for help from there who talked him through the repair. The upper oven was burning just about everything I tried to bake so I asked him to check that. The oven was set at 350 and his professional digital external thermometer was reading 425 degrees AFTER the preheat cycle and took forever to come anywhere near 350 degrees. The instructions tell you how to adjust the oven temps, but the (+) does not appear on the digital display, as stated in the manual, so you have no idea if the adjustments your making are even effective! After burning lots and lots of food, I finally got the oven to semi work. I put a high quality thermometer in the oven and it was all over the place 300-425 degrees during the baking cycle. Now lets talk about the lower oven. From day one there was a terrible odor which I was told was just from it being new. Again, it burned just about everything I put in so I started playing with the adjustment feature. It got to a point where some rolls were golden brown on top, but the bottoms were barely done, but at least they werent burnt! Not to mention that this thing sounds like you have a jet engine running in your kitchen! Now, heres the real kicker. This morning I opened the lower oven to move the rack and the entire inside was black, covered in soot (see photo of rag I used to wipe just the bottom). I tried to call LG but they refused to let me speak to the technical department to see if this was normal for a new oven or if I needed yet another service call. I was told this department only speaks to other technicians. I called Lowes and this piece of junk will be on its way back to the store later this week. Thank heaven I purchased it from Lowes, at least someone stands behind the products they sell.

I initially didnt buy an LG. I won my first one at a Christmas party raffle. I took it home that night and enjoyed it for about four years and I had to sell it because of the size of my household was expanding. But we really dont have any negative effects with this brand. The refrigerator was a gem to own. Never had any problems with it not doing its job. Would buy another one without any hesitation. Always keep my food at a constant temperature. And keep my vegetables in the crisper crisp a little longer. The only problem I ever had was that it wasnt right for me in the realm of space. I would like to see a little bit more space in the freezer compartment. And towards the end of my ownership of the product it was making a little more noise from the compressor than usual.

We bought LG top load washer and front dryer as a pair; WT5170HV, 5-2012. The only problems weve had was the washer electronic control board shorted out & now weve noticed rust forming underneath the top rim of the washer. There is a notice about not splashing bleach when adding to the dispenser. We are careful, but apparently it splashes up on the bottom of the lid and around the dispenser when the machine is operating. This is a design flaw and needs to be corrected by LG. This will be the last time I buy LG products unless they show me that they will stand behind their products and fix the design flaws... So be careful when buying appliances and read consumer reports.

I purchased this machine with high hopes of getting an energy efficient machine that would properly clean our clothes. It has proven to be a terrible disappointment. Even when I pretreat stains I have had to wash the clothes more than one time just to get the mark off the clothing. How is that efficient?? I have pulled items out of the washer that have areas that hadnt even gotten wet. How is that going to clean the clothes?? It has been a frustrating experience and I would recommend that anyone considering this machine reconsider their purchase. If I hadnt spent so much money I would go out and buy a different machine today.

I’ve dealt with LG stuff through the years and the products that I’ve gotten seemed to work very well. Aside from TVs and others, being in the elevator business, I have bought and installed LG elevators, which were good quality products. We got an LG refrigerator and it works well. It keeps the food cool. And when it’s working right, it keeps the ice cream hard, and I like that. I was just having an issue with the food getting warm. Their technician came out within a day and a half and fixed it, but didn’t get it right on the first time. When I told them it wasn’t working, they said they could come the following day, which was a Saturday. I was impressed that they came out even on a weekend. They took care of it early in the morning and got us up and running. So I was really happy. I had a big party planned and the technician got the refrigerator all fixed up before that. It started cooling down really well, and everything was fantastic. The technician was a nice gentleman, and very cooperative. He worked with us. All-around, I was happy with the service that I got from LG. And I would be calling them again if I have any problems with the refrigerator. I’m happy that they have their own service department. A lot of times you get different companies that are servicing the product, and they gotta run to LG to get the parts. The guy we had here is directly connected with LG, so it’s part of their system. And I know, being in the business, that if you’re dealing with the in-house manufacturer, they have better availability of parts and technical support than a middleman. You get a couple of people down this chain, and now you gotta order the parts and it takes longer. But the guy we had was able to come with the parts and then he did the job, and that makes the difference. I would absolutely recommend them.

We bought our LG in 2007 and had repairs on it 4 times in the first year. We replaced the icemaker, duct, fan, PC board, heater sheath, controller assembly, and had them resealed (it had duct tape to help seal!). We contacted Home Depot who said if it failed again, then they would work with us on replacing the fridge. We bought an extended warranty and of course, never had to use it. Then last month, the ice dispenser stopped dispensing ice...we took out the bucket and a nut fell out...looks like we need a new ice bucket assembly. After reading all the other problems, I decided to add my complaint about the LG refrigerator. Dont buy it.

We were limited by the space we had available to put the refrigerator in height as well as depth and width. Issue of getting in the doors of the house also. We had to take handles off refrigerator and freezer doors to get the unit in the house. Dont really like that we now have a water filter on the ice and water line that needs to be replaced ever 6 months. The excess ice needs to be taken off the door and dumped into the ice bin in the freezer. Freezer is on the bottom and when drawer is pulled out it limits movement into the kitchen area from family room. The housing for the water filter is not all that substantial could have been designed a little better. Still, we like the led lighting the ice and water dispensers and individual compartments for fruits and vegetables. The door display reminds you of how long the doors are open.

I purchased my LG dishwasher on april 11, 2015. I did not purchase an extended warranty as LG was supposed to be a high end appliance company and felt the product would not require service right away. However, I was wrong. One week after my 1 year purchase date, the dishwasher had an oe error code flashing one morning, which I did not know what that meant. So I continue to use it and instead of running at night while sleeping I decided to run before we went to bed. The dishwasher when first starting had a loud grinding noise, which sounded like it was trying to take off and start flying.I went online to find that this is a problem with the dishwasher and the company does not back their warranty. I started a chat at 8:38 to resolve the issue and remained on the chat until 10:52, with no resolution. I then called the company direct. Spoke with a rep and a supervisor, both of which informed me my dishwasher had no warranty. Only after I had to contact Sears, get a duplicate receipt, upload it to them and they reviewed it. Since I got a discount on my dishwasher due to the door having had swirl marks on the front it voided any extended warranty. Therefore, I like many others will have to pay a serviceman to come repair my dishwasher that I purchased just over a year ago. I would tell anyone looking for any type of appliance. Do not buy LG anything!!! Their customer service is awful and their warranty is ridiculous.Update 5/13/16: I received from LG names and numbers of authorized repairman in our area. Called their repairman, was told by them Oh, maam, you are not in my service area. So, therefore, I have no one to service my dishwasher.

The washer wash plate flew off & dented the tub. Repair was dispatched fairly quickly. Replaced wash plate. We were told that the tub would be on backorder until July. How can it take over a month to get the most important piece of equipment for a washing machine? Repairman calls back over a week ago and asks if we would take compensation from LG in lieu of the part. The part will be on backorder longer than anticipated. He told me that LG would be calling. I contacted him recently to let him know that I’ve received no call. His comment was “Really?” Then he laughed!!! Told me he’d speak with his supervisor. This is very disappointing. The sales clerk at Lowe’s raved about their product.

We purchased this refrigerator Dec. 15, 2014 its not a year old and still under the factory warranty. This is the second time that we have had this problem with the refrigerator not getting cold. May 2015 was the first time someone came out and adjusted the temperature, the same problem happen again around September 11, 2015 where it wasnt cooling or making ice. The day I got out of the hospital, I come home and everything in my freezer had thawed out and spoil. I began calling immediately but no one seems to put themselves in our shoes. We have been without a refrigerator since September 18th, 2015. Someone from Jebco in Saraland, AL. came out on September 23, 2015 said that he had to order a part and for us to unplug our refrigerator until he return on Monday September 28, 2015. Well Monday came, his clerk called to say that he would not be able to come on that day. I was so upset that I hung up on her, but later called back to apologize, later that day she called LG to inform them that she did not think I was satisfied with them QUOTE: Im not satisfied with anyone because everyone has a refrigerator and we dont. We are having to keep water in a cooler and having to go out to food because we cant put anything in the fridge. All we are asking is for them to give us another refrigerator, nobody seems to be able to accommodate for our loss. We are still paying for a broke down refrigerator, its notfair. I thought customers were always right and came first, well it seems that is not a true statement, because if it were true they should make sure that the customers are happy and satisfied to every extent.I am so dissatisfied with HHGregg and LG, I am letting everyone know not to deal with either one of them because they dont stand by their word of satisfying their customers. Is there anyone that can help me please come forward to give me some advices? We have spoken to so many peoples and nobody doing anything.

Unit was apparently not draining due to installation, unit removed, rebuilt. Technician excellent but the dishwasher is very very unreliable, simple product like kids yogurt doesnt wash out of plastic cups. I paid $798 plus $30 to have it installed. Waiting now on feedback and responses from LG and store I purchased from. I will not buy new or LG again. I have not had 1 successful full clean from it. Thanks.

Wash machine about a year old died. Most of the time the machine washed clothes for a single man with a white-collar job. So very little clothing once every couple weeks and certainly not soiled at all. Service took 3 weeks to show up and then told the machine is junk by LGs own serviceman and then told part to fix it is discontinued! On a 1-year-old machine? Then constant runaround from LG about a proof of purchase (which I do not have). The machine was purchased at Best Buy with a Best Buy gift card so no credit card or check or other means of proof. Best Buy says they cannot trace gift card purchases. The machine has a 10-year warranty and I only know this because LG told me I registered the machine with the serial number on October 10, 2017. THEY KNOW the machine was purchased and registered for the warranty! I didnt steal it! You cannot walk out of Best Buy with clothes washing machine hidden in your pants pocket! So they know when it was purchased and where it was purchased from. They (LG) have a record of all serial numbers and where they are delivered. Now they refuse to honor the warranty.

After reading review after review on this site detailing the same issues I have had with my $3000 LG French door refrigerator, I will not waste time with detailing the issues I have had with this trash LG product. Same no-customer-service response from LG; the service company they gave us hasn’t worked for them for 2 years! We finally had to go directly to Home Depot to get a service repair person to come and look at our refrigerator. It has been two weeks without my refrigerator and hopefully it will get fixed today. But according to the other reviews that I read that may not be the last of my problems with this refrigerator. I am not hopeful. This is the second LG refrigerator that has had this problem; Home Depot, who has pretty decent Customer Service, replaced this same exact refrigerator one year ago. That refrigerator was only a year old when this exact same problems of the compressor going out occurred. The repairmen who are here today said they have been extremely busy lately repairing LG refrigerators with this problem! I am SO frustrated! I feel like someone has stolen thousands of dollars from me! DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!!

We purchased an LG fridge August 2015. June 18, 2018 our fridge was not cooling or making ice. Compressor and fans all seem to be running. I have called and emailed LG customer service every single day since today being July 8 2018. I have submitted proof or purchase from our Lowe’s Synchrony credit card I was able to obtain. Submitted email directly from Lowes along with sticker on back of fridge. LG states this is not appropriate documentation and they have provided me numbers for service repairmen. Since reading everyone else review I have decided to just take this piece of crap unit to the dump and buy a unit that doesn’t cost $1,300. Because I am not paying a service repairman $600 Labor plus another $400 for a part that seems like will quit again in 2 more years. Don’t buy LG anything as their company sucks and they do not stand behind their products even though they stated compressor has a 10 year warranty. Bought this expensive $2500 LG fridge from Costco June 2018, we were remodeling our kitchen. After 6 months the ice maker defrosted and started leaking and unable to dispense ice. The repairman changed the ice dispenser motor and seemed to work ok. Then after another 3 months or so, the freezer and refrigerator stopped working, defrosting all of our food. We lived on ice coolers and no cooking. When the repairman came, he unplugged the ref, and it started working again. After another month, same thing happened, defrosted all of our food again, lived on ice coolers for 4 days till repairman came and says it might be the control board acting up? He will order the part but we have to wait another 3 days or so. We are waiting for the part he ordered Thursday and will come Wednesday, long wait for a very frustrating expensive ref? I recommend “Don’t buy this fridge!“ Not worth the headaches. I live in Vegas. Very hot here, no fridge life is not easy! Very frustrating, unhappy with poor customer service. We bought an LG Refrigerator LFX31925ST/05 about 1 1/2 years ago for about $2300 and it has been a nightmare. A few weeks after we bought it we started having problems with the ice maker/dispenser. The ice would thaw then freeze in the storage compartment in the door. So ice would not come out the dispenser. We continued to have the problem so had an LG recommended repairman come try to fix it. The first repair did not work. A few calls later and a different repairman and we find out there is a class action lawsuit for the ice maker and we eventually got it replaced. Now, at the age of 1-1/2 years we had the air circulating fan go out. Error code ER rf. Not covered under the 1-yr. warranty. It took the LG recommended repair man 10 days to replace the motor since it was on back order. We agreed to pay him once we were sure it was working. He left angrily. A half hour after he left, the error code was up again and the fan was not running! After we called and complained, the repair man figured it must be the circuit board. A week later, with a refrigerator that is warm on top and freezes on the bottom, we still have not yet had the board replaced. Maybe we can wait for another class action lawsuit. LG refuses to extend common courtesy and replace the parts without charge. We are looking at about $350 of labor and parts for a fridge that is 1 1/2 years old! On top of that, the stainless steel scratches very easily so be careful. Worst appliance Ive ever purchased!

Three weeks ago, I discovered my LG refrigerator was failing to keep foods cold and frozen. A repairman from Stover, Evey, and Jackson came, brought a loaner, and took the model to diagnose the problem in their local shop. It is not repairable because the capillary tube is blocked and no part can be ordered from the company to complete the repair, per Bob, technician. This model has a 7 year sealed system warranty.I have tried to contact LG via email, with little success. The phone customer service is very poor and time consuming. A supervisor gave me a bad email address after calling us at 6am (no apology). Does anyone have any suggestions to remedy this problem? I would like them to repair the unit or replace it, or at least refund a portion of our purchase price.

When I decided to purchase this washer, I chose LG expecting to be dealing with one of the top corporations in electronics. What a disappointment! On trying to have it repaired - error message indicating the machine is not draining - I contacted you asking for a local authorized dealer. I was given the name of RISING SERVING SOLUTIONS whom I contacted and got an appointment for a WEEK LATER. So far, after 3 visits of their technician who changed the drain motor twice, the brain of the machine and having paid $390 for the repair, I continue to have the same exact problem. On my last conversation with the technician he alleged that the problem is with the drain hose/pipe.Although Im not knowledgeable on the subject this explanation makes no sense, since the machine drains water properly on the wash and rinse cycles, presenting the problem only on the spin going on to dry cycle. Calling twice and speaking to your supervisors at customer service led nowhere. What to do next?

Food was spoiling but thermostat reading were within normal limits. I had a refrigerator repair done and was promptly quoted the replacement price for a new compressor. This is such a common problem that the repair profession knows the price off the top of his head. Not only was the compressor dead but the thermostats were dead too. I have chased LG for weeks without resolve. I do not believe they have any intention of resolving this issue. I am now forced to repurchase a new refrigerator and the refrigerator is only seven years old! I will never buy an LG product again! I RATE LG AS A ZERO. They should be barred from businesses in the USA!

In May 2016 we purchased a Kenmore side by side door in door refrigerator. Little did we know that it was actually a LG refrigerator with a Kenmore label. The Refrigerator stopped working in July of 2018 after just a little over two years. We called Sears Service, and got the bad news that our warranty was for only one year. The repair would cost $800. We foolishly went ahead and trusted them to repair it promptly. It took them 3 weeks to order parts and schedule a technician. The technician did a poor job and the new compressor was making noise and not cooling. They had to reorder parts and another technician which took another 4 weeks. The second technician eventually fixed it. Now we are keeping our fingers crossed to see how long it will work.

New LG Washer Never worked. Leaks and jumps around in spin cycle. This new washer has never successfully washed one load of clothes. The first time we tried to wash a load of clothes, it flooded our washroom. When it entered it spin cycle, it jumped around on the floor and hit the dryer. We contacted Home Depot (where we purchased it along with matching dryer and extended warranties). They immediately started putting us off on a repair shop, LG, and had the delivery company insurance take responsibility for the flooding. The repair shop is so busy that we were not able to get an appointment for 3 weeks. They have tried to repair this washer four times UNSUCCESSFULLY. Each time it takes two to three weeks for the next service appointment.LG does not want to bear any responsibility for producing a faulty, dangerous washer. Each time we try to speak with them they never return calls or put us off on Home Depot, who put us off on them and the Repair company. This is a new Washer that has never washed a load of clothes with an extended warranty. This has been the worst customer service experience we have ever had and the fact that it has come from two major Companies (LG and Home Depot) is really surprising. Note: we have another appointment scheduled a week from now (some progress). Washer - WM3370HRA, Dryer - DLEX3370R.

My LG washer is one without an agitator. It is a water saver and I like that feature a lot; however, there is no way to accomplish a soak cycle. Other than that, I like everything about the washer.

After reading all these horrible experiences Im now going to see if I can cancel the LG fridge I purchased today. My current fridge (Jenn Air) is over 20 years old and I have NEVER had an issue with it until yesterday. No Product should have this many issues when you pay top dollar for it. Totally disappointed and terrified of my purchase now! Big Mistake by the look of it. :/

I purchased an LG dishwasher 2 months ago and I keep getting car for codes 3 different ones. Service man came out. Said machine is junk. Should be replaced. So LG in the Philippines sends out a 2nd repair company and he cant figured it out so he ordered 3 different parts... And broke my tiles in my kitchen and said if 2 service people come out and cannot figure it out theyll replace the dishwasher. I have sent several messages to a lady named Heather in Alabama who has stopped emailing me back. And all return calls have stopped although I call every day. Been dealing with LG warranty dept for 3 weeks every day... Leaving messages and emails and my problem is still unresolved. I would never recommend any LG product ever.

I want to follow-up with how LG went above-and-beyond to help in my range repair. As I mentioned previously, my range went out just shy of having it four years. The thermostat stopped working causing the range to shut down. LG was gracious enough to cover the cost of the repair! I updated my star rating for LG from one to five stars because they were there and made good on a bad occurrence. Ill be buying more LG appliances in the future knowing how they stand behind their product. Thank you LG.
