We bought a new LG fridge with our home and it lasted about 6 months. Quit making ice. I called LG and they determined the compressor was failing after a month of service calls. They ordered parts, canceled my appointment 2x, finally someone shows up and says, We’ll I don’t think the compressor is bad. We said, Well 2 other people said it is so replace it like youre told. He did and it failed. The fridge never got cold. Ruined all the food inside overnight and when we pulled it out he had damaged the back panel. Called the repair group and was told they couldn’t come back out. It was up to Lg. Again called and jumped through all the hoops with Lg and now we’re waiting another week with no fridge or freezer. Had to go out and buy a chest freezer. They don’t care at all. Do not buy a LG fridge!!!!

We bought an LG refrigerator (Model # LMX28994ST /00) on June 12, 2012 (Delivered on the 22nd of June) at Sears #100-1425 Sumas Way Abbotsford B.C. On New Year’s Day we opened the fridge and the cream for coffee was warm. I opened the freezer compartment with all the expensive foodstuffs for holiday entertaining was thawed so all of the fridge items and the expensive food had to be thrown out. We called the service dept. for we had 5 year extended warranty on January 2, 2015 and it took almost 6 days for the service man to arrive. He told us that the motherboard had fried the compressor - we have been waiting for parts to come and it is FEBRUARY the 2nd and they might come this Friday if we are lucky. Sears says feel my pain - I havent had a fridge since New Years Day!!!! I am diabetic and need a fridge for veg., etc. for eating out is so unhealthy! I will never set foot in a Sears store again and I will tell everyone about this experience!! I have always used Sears for my appliances and have sent others to them. Have I looked into the future and found appliance buying a scary thing?!

Updated on 09/18/2019: Update to my prior post of July 2019. It is now September 18, 2019 and my refrigerator is still not fixed. The most recent cooling issue started in June 2019 and it is still not fixed by LG. I call every week and every week Im told that they are sending my issue to the Escalation Dept who will call me in 2-3 business days. No one ever calls back. Finally someone acted like they were going to replace it. After I uploaded receipt provided by Lowes. The new person who answered the phone said no replacement until a service person says it cannot be repaired. So, I said I dont care whether you replace it or fix it, I just need it to work because it is now 50+ degrees inside the refrigerator. Of course, this new person is referring my case to the Escalation Dept and Ill be calling again next week to try to get my refrigerator fixed. I doubt it will ever be fixed but Ill call every week until someone shows up to try to fix it... DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!!!Original Review: NEVER BUY ANY LG APPLIANCE! The LG refrigerator I bought (which cost over $3,000.00) had an error message about cooling by the fan within 24 hours of the refrigerator being delivered. It took about 6 months and at least 4 visits from a repairman (after many, many phone calls to try to get a repairmen sent) before the issue was fixed. Then, 4 months later, I have the same error message with the same fan issue. It has now been over a month since the issue started again and it is still not fixed. I could write 10 pages about the horrible customer service at LG and the slow and horrible service companies they LG has assigned to fix the issue. I will certainly never buy another LG appliance and I recommend that no one else ever buy an LG appliance. Any manufacturer has got to have a better product and a better customer service function and better service companies that they engage to act on their behalf.

I have been reasonably satisfied with the refrigerator itself. The icemaker is not all that great but that seems to be a common characteristic in most residential refrigerator/freezers with an icemaker. I had the refrigerator approximately two years and the compressor started going out intermittently. It took a week or so for a technician to come and look at it but they did come and look at it and seemed to fix it, although they did not replace the compressor at that time (which is a problem that LG knows about ).Six months later (May of this year) it completely went out on us. And this happened two days before our vacation. It took them ultimately three weeks to come and fix the refrigerator and my children were at home with no refrigerator. We lost approximately $500 in food, with a inadequate food reimbursement of $150. That felt a little bit like a slap in the face after all the problems we had gone through to get the refrigerator repaired. We went through three different technician appointments and the local repair company was both unresponsive and incompetent. When LG was contacted directly, they promised to help but offered no real help in getting our refrigerator repaired sooner. I own several different LG products and I certainly will do more research and be more careful about buying LG products in the future, no longer just taking for granted That their products are of the quality that I would normally expect from LG.

I purchased an LG kitchen suite from Costco because of the ratings and reputation of both companies. After less than 2 years we started having issues with the food not being cold. We ran all diagnostics and it said nothing was wrong. Now, a little over 3 years later, the freezer and fridge do not work. The repairman gave us a quote that was higher than the price of a new fridge, which I can’t afford. I just don’t understand how the compressor died so quickly. And according to the repairman, the unit will never be the same even after repairing this part. With all the issues with COVID-19, the loss of all the food is difficult since it’s hit or miss if I’ll be able to get the stuff I need for my family of 6. What am I supposed to do now?!?!

I purchased the stackable washer and dryer 2/2014. Never again. I have had the technicians here because the dryer does not dry. I was told that the clothes are dry according to foreign standards, but In the US we want the clothes dry. At 61 years old I thought I heard it all but to my surprise that was the silliest ever. If I did not want to dry clothes then I would not have bought a dryer. The clothes take about 90 minutes to dry, not very energy efficient. Also, the machines are not made for 50 tall people. I use a step stool to start and empty the dryer. This machine was a very costly mistake. I asked Lowes to pro-rate the machines because I only had them since February but they said no. They have a 30-day return policy. I wish I never purchased these machines. I will only buy American if possible.

I spent almost $3000 on my fridge in Jan. of 2015. Last week it slowly stopped cooling, we didnt notice at first and then last Friday I realized it was barely cold. Started checking all the food and most was bad. We hadnt been home much so I looked in the freezer for the first time in a couple of days and everything was defrosted. Had to throw away 3.5 trash bags of food. I called LG, they gave me a authorized tech to come look at it, which he did on Friday. Did the unplug thing, wait hours and nothing. He came back on Sat. to tap the system to see if Freon was leaking - we only had 25% Freon running through the fridge which could also mean the compressor is bad as well. This tech was leaving to go on vacation, I decided I couldnt wait a week for him to come back so called LG to get another techs #. Tech 2 came out yesterday and discovered Tech 1 had illegally removed the tap after performing the Freon test and Freon had been leaking out of my fridge for 4 days! He also ruined whatever it is you connect the tap too. Tech 2 said now all my hoses are contaminated and this fridge will be a nightmare to repair, he probably will even decline the job because it could possibly mean weeks of having to come back on multiple occasions to get it fixed. Tech 2 called LG while here, documented everything with their tech support, pictures, videos everything. LG has extended the warranty for us but now they want us to have a 3rd Tech come out, has to be specific one and this company cant get out until the end of next week, we have already been extremely inconvenienced without a fridge for a week and now they want us to wait another week to get the 3rd authorized tech before they will proceed??? I called Tech 2 again today and he said he doesnt understand, he was already here yesterday, he is an authorized technician for LG and he documented everything, there is nothing else for him to do. Just today alone I have logged 8 calls with LG, takes an average of 7-10 minutes just to get where you need to be. If you want to talk to a supervisor they say one will call you back in 30 mins., over an hour later Im calling them back because I have not received a call from a supervisor. At this point Im getting upset and told the supervisor I just need a new refrigerator and her response was well thats not up to you. Very dissatisfied with the runaround Im getting from LG, I bought 4 appliances from them in 2015 and will never buy another one because of their antiquated customer service system. Also, should I be contacting the EPA, is my fridge still leaking Freon but LG says thats ok and just wait another week?? At this point I have lost two days of work, probably about $400 of food and my stress level is through the roof!

Bought LG DISHWASHER LDT9965BD in Nov/2016. We have a laminate floor in our kitchen. Didnt realize the dishwasher was leaking until the Pergo floor panels started curling up at the seams in front of the washer. The service man said our sump assembly seal was leaking from inside the washer. The dripping was unnoticed because the water was flowing under the laminate panels and soaking into the padding underneath. I have had many less expensive dishwashers in my life and never had a leak not even a drip. This was the most expensive dishwasher LG had at the time of purchase. Waiting to see if LG backs up the damage that was caused.

We purchased a top of the line LG refrigerator Model #LFX28978ST from Home
We purchased a top of the line LG refrigerator Model #LFX28978ST from Home Depot on July 4th, 2012. On December 23, 2012, it quit working. It is now January 21, 2013 and I am still without a refrigerator! I called the LG Hotline on December 23rd and was told that they could have their certified repairman out on the 28th of December. He came out and told me we needed a new compressor; he didnt carry this part on his truck so it would have to be ordered. The compressor would take a week to get here. On 1/3/2013, he returned with the compressor, installed it, added Freon to the refrigerator and stayed until he felt the unit started to cool. He told us to wait 24-48 hours. Being a little gun shy about losing all of my food the first time (I had the refrigerator stocked for the holidays), I waited a little longer to go out, purchase more food and sure enough on 1/7/13, the refrigerator stopped cooling again. I called LG and was told that the repairman that had been out before was off for two weeks, and that I needed to call a different authorized repair shop. I did and was told by the person at that repair shop that they did not work on compressors and would not come out. I called LG back again, spoke with a different person and was told that our original repair person could be out on 1/10/2013. He came back out and after trying different things, we were told that the refrigerator could not be fixed and that it would have to be replaced. He gave us a fax number to fax everything to LG, which I did the next morning. I received a call from the repair center the next day and was told by Barbara from LG Repair Center that I would need to email the paperwork to her. I told her that I had faxed everything the day before. She told me that was just a general fax number and to email everything to her at an email address that she would email to me. I tried a few times to email the paperwork to her only to get error messages; the email would not go through. I called Barbara back and she gave me her fax number, so I once again faxed all of the paperwork to her. I received a call from Barbara the next day to tell me that they would have to get a replacement refrigerator from their LG warehouse, and that it would take 7-10 business days before someone would contact me to set up a delivery date. I asked her where their warehouse was located, and she told me TX; I told her that I lived in TX! I asked why so long, and she told me that they have to tell everyone that it will be 7-10 business days for someone to contact me to set up delivery. I have been a month without a refrigerator. I have spent more money on eating out and buying ice this one month than what I spend in a year’s time. Not only does LG not care, they dont care!I will never buy another LG for as long as I live. I wish that I would have seen this blog before I bought this piece of crap. I will tell all of my friends and family about this. I am hoping that they tell all of their friends and family. Also, be aware that LG is making refrigerators for Kenmore - this is from the mouth of the LG repairman!

I bought an LG French door refrigerator November of 2014. Just before the end of the 1 year warranty the refrigerator started making noises. I didnt get around to calling LG until the beginning of December 2015. LG refused to help me unless I purchased an extended warranty for $250. I later called an appliance repairman and was told the noise was my compressor going out. After a year of service?! Are you kidding me?! I proceeded to call LG back to get the compressor replaced (which has a 10 year warranty), they once again wouldnt help me unless I purchased the extended warranty for $250. Really? You spend $3000 on a refrigerator and call for a repair under the warranty, after a year and half (at this point) and you have to spend more money to repair your piece of $3000 junk?! DO NOT BUY ANY LG PRODUCTS. THEIR WARRANTIES ARE JUNK. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT THERE TO HELP YOU!

Model WD-10165FU - I am a South African customer and we have a 9 year old LG Front Loader washing machine (in excellent condition) which has been giving trouble for some time. The problem has been intermittent completion of wash/rinse/spin cycle. I had to resort to taking back cover off and manually coaxing the pulley/V belt to turn the drum. At times during the wash cycle the water would drain out but no amount of coaxing would induce the machine to spin.Today I called out an L.G. Electronics technician who, after checking the brushes in the motor, told me that the problem lay with the P.C. board but then informed me that P.C. boards for this model had been discontinued and there was no other P.C. board which would work. And then the coup de grace - he said I would have to buy a new washing machine. Is there any reason for me to feel totally dissatisfied with L.G. products! I feel that L.G. Electronics have erred badly by not ensuring that such an important part is readily available. I now have to discard an otherwise perfectly working washing machine and outlay big money for a replacement, which most certainly will not be another L.G.!

Tried to find one that was rated good in Consumer Affairs. I have had this pair for about 5 years. I looked at consumer feedback to find one that was rated well. They seem to do ok. I dont like the odor coming from the washer when you have the door closed too long, so I always leave it open when not in use. I look for capacity, energy efficiency, discounts, brand, quality. How fast they will come out and repair if it breaks down. I look for quality and price has to enter in on it. Most expensive is not always what I want. It may not have the features I want. I want and need large size that keeps working.

My husband and I bought this what I thought was an awesome refrigerator. I was mistaken. It has stopped working. Does not cool or freeze and we havent even had it a year. We bought the five-year warranty with it and called them to have someone come look at it (to uphold the warranty) and they transferred us to the Philippines!! Though we bought it at Lowes fifteen minutes away! The person on the line who can barely be understood tells us they dont have anyone near us to come look at it and that someone will be getting in contact with us within the next 24 hours. That was two days ago. I had just went shopping and filled this fridge and woke up and everything was spoiled!! I would definitely not get this refrigerator!! I have a child who now has to get her (what will fit) drinks out of a small cooler because I dont have another 4-5 thousand dollars to go purchase another refrigerator! Im extremely upset that no one has even attempted to contact us in regards of the warranty but took our money quick like! DO NOT BUY THE LG KNOCK REFRIGERATOR!!

I want to tell you about the major issue and health problem with the top loading washer. I have been getting mold in my washer and on my clothes EVERY time I do a load of wash. This has been going on for months and it isnt going away. I run the clean cycle every few weeks hoping to keep the tub clean but it doesnt work. Ive run the clean cycle using a quart of bleach and then again using a quart of vinegar. The tub never drains properly and that is what is causing the mold. This is ridiculous and is a major health issue!!! Ive reported this to Consumer Affairs as well. This thing should be replaced immediately!!!

We received our new LG top load washing machine at the beginning of Feb. 2016. Mid March (not even two months!). We noticed all dress shirts and golf shirts were coming out with oily spots on them. Contacted Home Depot who directed us to LG. So, we did contact LG since Mar 21st. You cant reach customer service right away; each customer service rep tells you so many different things. Customer service asks you if you are using HE detergent or fabric softener, and then tells you to try tub clean with clean water then with bleach which didnt solve the problem. The technician LG sends tells you it is what youre putting in the washing machine is the problem. One customer service rep tells you once the technician looked at it, it will be escalated to Mgmt. for exchange; another rep tells you it is rejected and asks you more tub clean while your dirty clothes is piling up. The next minute, the rep on the phone tells you that they dont have an updated report from the technician. Terrible machine and service!!! Wrong machine to get!!! Our old machine didnt have this problem!!

We bought our LG 4 years ago at Best Buy. We have always bought Whirlpool refrigerators in the past and they all worked well for TEN years or more. This LG is a piece of junk!!!! During the first couple of years, we had to have a repairman out twice for the icemaker. The second time, they had to order a replacement part for the motherboard. About a month ago, the refrigerator-part stopped cooling. We called the only qualified repair shop in the area and were told that it would be a week before they could get to us. For some unknown reason, it started cooling several days later so I cancelled the appointment. It cooled for several weeks and then stopped again. Now, both the refrigerator and the freezer have stopped. We have called the repair shop again and must wait 5 days for them to come and they will probably have to order parts. So, we have no idea when it will be fixed. If I could afford to throw it out the door, I would. I will NEVER, NEVER buy another LG refrigerator.

I bought the LG model LDF7932ST in 2006. It was supposed to be top of the line. Quiet, efficient, etc. and expensive - $1200. From day one, it was noisy and the smell was so bad when I ran it, I would set it to go on at 2 am when I was sleeping. Not to mention, it took 2 hours. It made all kinds of noises. The smell was vile. Then the bottom rack was always getting stuck on the door seal gasket on bottom right. Then the damn wheels would come off. Couldnt move the basket in or out. I would always have to push the bottom draw towards the left, be very careful with it. It was extremely annoying. Always getting stuck. Now the strip of metal that holds the rubber seal has actually come off of the side of the inside liner. Now I cant even push the draw in or out at all. Spoke to tech. He confirmed over the phone that it could not be fixed and that he had seen it before. So now I have to buy a new dishwasher and it wont be an LG. This is a flaw in their design. Their products stink.

Agree with the other one star reviews with this issue. This top loader never gets enough water in the tub (on normal cycle) to even get most of the clothes wet, let alone all of them! How can anyone expect clean clothes without water? I always need to press extra water or deep wash....which really wastes a lot of water as it will then fill up to the very top rim when I only want it to cover the clothes in the tub! Ridiculous machine - dont they test these things before putting them on the market? So wish wed returned it when we had the chance...but hubby said well get the gist of using it HA.

I agree with what everyone has to say about these new washing machines. I bought the LG 1101 washer 2 years ago. Chose this model as consumer reports gave it a raving review. After doing a couple loads I felt that the machine wasnt washing the clothes very well - white streaks on dark clothing, dry spots on clothes, not smelling clean at all so I would watch how much water would go into a load - not much! I pulled out a grey dress shirt after a full wash cycle & could see that it was completely dry in certain areas! I called LG & asked them if they were the right people to call or should I have called Sears (where I purchased it). Of course they said I made the right call as they would send a repairman out & because I had the machine for only 2 weeks. I should have called Sears because then I could have returned the machine!Anyways repairman said that the machine is doing what its suppose to do - senses load & puts water accordingly. I showed him a picture of the shirt & he said he understood. He has heard the complaint many times. He said to get around the not enough water issue was to open up washer so it thinks youre adding more clothes so then it will add more water. What a waste of time having this machine is! I have been doing this with every wash load but sometimes I forget because I dont have time to wait for it to start filling. I now put about a bucket full of water (about 10 litres) into the machine after putting the clothes in & then start up the machine. Pretty pathetic that I have to do this to a brand new machine. I absolutely hate my new LG washing machine. Wish I had never purchased it. Its really too bad as I was so excited about getting it as I had never owned a new washing machine before.

I purchased this microwave on Amazon a little over 2 years ago. The plastic tabs that hold the glass in place randomly broke one day while not even in use. LG does not care because the warranty is only for 1 year. They want to sell me a replacement door for $115 for a $250 microwave. There is no way the door costs this much. I refuse to buy anything else LG.

As others who have previously reviewed this product/item, I am extremely disappointed in its function during the spin cycle. It never fails that I must attend to the machine during spin cycles to either re-adjust the wash or take everything out and put it all back in in some manner that seems balanced. Ive never encountered this problem before with other washing machines. Since the LG television I bought was excellent, I figured the same would apply to their washing machines or any of their products. Was I ever mistaken. I will never buy any of their products unless they make vast improvements. Now Im at the point where I must buy yet another washing machine. But I will do my homework this time and purchase one that has high performance ratings. And I will certainly tell anyone and everyone who ever discusses washing machines to avoid LG. My final statement and question to the LG corporation is: Do you even care?

Purchased an extended warranty on March 14, 2017 for my LG refrigerator for $375 through Assurant which LG told me I had to go through to get coverage. LG contacted Royal Electronics from Bunnell Fl. to service my refrigerator. R.E. phone #386-756-1775. R.E. contacted me to set up date to come to my home to look at my refrigerator. R.E. did show up but only after cancelling the first appointment and showing up a week later. The service repairman was very friendly but came completely unprepared and was ready to walk out the door when I brought it to his attention that he hadnt even checked the ice maker, which was one of the main reasons he was there. The other was the water inlet valve in the back of the refer. Jumping ahead repairman said he order the parts but that the refer was old (7yrs) and I might not be able to get all the parts for it. Sad.Im waiting almost two weeks and hear nothing from R.E. I call them back and they say they cant get the ice maker anymore (no longer available). I went online and found the part myself at repairclinic.com. I called R.E. back and said they could get the part from repairclinic. R.E. told me they only order parts from approved suppliers through LG. I called LG and they said they would authorize the purchase, and let R.E. know to go ahead and order the parts. In the meantime Im still making phone calls both to R.E. and L.G. really getting nowhere. Assurant has already charged my credit card twice ($250 now), and nothing has yet to remedy my broken refer 6 wks later. R.E. never calls back and I always had to call them.Collette from R.E. told me the part was on its way but she didnt have a tracking number and that we would just have to wait to hear from her again. She told me not to call again because she would call me (that never happened). So now after at least two working days on the phone, on hold more than half the time, I decided to cancel my insurance policy. I call LG and they said they would charge me $100 and refund the rest. They said this was to pay for the service call to my house by the repairman. I received really no service at all, and Id be a fool to keep playing phone tag with two companies that obviously have no intentions of making it right. I believe R.E. was being spiteful that I went above their heads and found the part I needed from another company. (Prior, R.E. insisted to me that the parts could no longer be obtained because the part was no longer manufactured.)They just did not want to do their job and thats incompetence as far as Im concerned. What a win fall for R.E. All the repairman does is show up and he gets paid. LG should refund all my money for the trouble I have been put through. A refrigerator that cost me about $2400 should last (in my book) at least 10 yrs before something goes wrong with it. LG mindset, its time to buy a new one in 6 to 7 yrs. What a shame and what happened to pride in the products we buy in the USA? Wasteful! Wasteful! Wasteful! I shall go on to order the parts myself and try to repair my refrigerator. What happened to the days when you would call a repairman and he would have the parts in his truck and hed fix it right then and there?

I bought an LG dishwasher 3 years ago. Read reviews I could find at the time. They werent the top of the line but they were reviewed better than middle of the road. I wanted it to be quiet and clean my dishes well. That lasted about 6 months, called them and they told me that all dishwashers make noise. I asked them why the dishes werent drying completely, they told me the inside of a dishwasher is always going to leave some moisture on the dishes. Really, that was their answer. Quit draining this week, well thats not true. It drained all over my kitchen floor. Finally found a repairman to work on it. Guess what, repairmen hate LG dishwashers too, if they will even work on them. Repairman told me if you can afford to buy another dishwasher to do it, they always break. Since I dont have a money tree in my backyard, I had to have it fixed, but you can bet I will never buy another LG dishwasher.

First off, I must say that my LG appliances were great. At First. We bought a new house and all new major appliances. Now at the 5-year mark, they are breaking. No problems with broken parts except the ice dispenser (only crushed). A month ago, the stove overheated. I looked online only to find out that the stove had been recalled. A call was put in to LG and I was given an order number and told that a repair company would contact me. After 10 days, I called LG back again and I was then given the name and # of the company that was supposed to come and fix the stove. Another week goes by and I call that company to be told that I lived too far away to come fix it (about 30 miles). Another call to LG who did not believe me, so I was put on hold for almost an hour while LG called the repair company. I was then given the name of another company on July 5, that I contacted. Company # 2 said they were waiting on the part. Today is July 17. I still have no working stove. On July 15th, I came home to water all over my kitchen floor. I opened the refrigerator door to warm food and melted ice. I bypassed LG and called out a repairman on the 16th of July ($70.00) just to pull in the driveway. The repairman moved some stuff around and called it good. Today, the 17, I called him to let him know that the fan is still blowing but the temp is about 50 degrees. So now I have 2 very pretty LG appliances that do not work. Not happy at all because both items were big ticket items totaling over 4 grand. Also have an LG TV that is 2 years old, used maybe 3 times a week, that has about 5-inch black spot in the screen. I guess I would rather pay a higher electric bill every month using an older but functional item than to have to replace appliances every couple of years. Very disappointed and will not buy another LG product again.

We purchased an LG French door with freezer drawer in bottom. Have had problems with mold developing along the door gaskets as doors do not closed properly. Yesterday, there was an odor that smelled like burning plastic. It smelled like some electrical insulation was burning. The smell diminished, but this morning we discovered that the electrical cord was burning at the outlet. I called the service contract people and was told that the electric cord was not covered, that if they sent someone out it would cost $100.00+. Drove to the local HHGregg store where we purchased it originally and spoke with the manager, which was as helpful as talking to the service provider. In my opinion, both Gregg and the service provider are dishonest about their policy coverage. It appears that I am not alone with this problem.

I purchased a home which included appliances including my LG bottom freezer refrigerator (model number LRDC22744TT) this time last year and moved in in August. An internal leak developed in the refrigerator compartment, which was discovered to be a broken reservoir that feeds the water dispenser in the door. The reservoir was replaced by a local serviceman. Here 6 months later, the new reservoir cracks, clearly caused by defect in the component. Their response? Out of warranty. No replacement. LG (or NG, as I now refer to them) and I (and anyone else on Earth that I can persuade) are parting ways.

Problems with the compressor and the controls on the front panel will freeze up and the only way to reset them is to pull the refrigerator out and unplug it. Sometimes this works sometimes it doesnt. We purchased our LG front loading washing machine in November of 2006. Within a few months, we also started having the clothes smelling badly, especially dark colored clothing. One week ago, the washer stopped spinning. We replaced the part. This week, the washer wont even turn on. I called the company for the second time. They chose to offer me a phone number of the closest repairperson (like I cant find that myself). I asked to file a complaint. As of today, I have had no one email or call me back. I emailed the company. Still, I heard nothing. These appliances are very expensive and should be lasting a lot longer than 5 years. The last washing machine we had was an inexpensive top loader that we purchased in 1983, and lasted until 2006. This is ridiculous! We also purchased an LG flat screen TV a couple of years ago. I had to replace a part in it already. Its definitely not a good life for anyone, but Lifes Good for the company!

Ive purchased many top of the line brands over time - never have I experienced such a poorly made product. After five years of trying to get the LG fridge to work, we had to finally give up. Purchased a washer/dryer company WM3987HW at the end of last July. In December the unit flooded due to quality issue - technicians words on the report. Went a whole month without a repair because according to the report that they received it was an installation issue. They will not send me a copy of their report so I can compare to the one I have. Nowhere on my report do I have installation as the cause. Hours on the phone from customer service, supervisors and claims department and 5 months later still have no end to my nightmare. Im in the process now of having to prove to them that it was a quality issue. I have already done all this once in my application for repairs. This will be the third time that all the information has been sent.Second issue I have is since January my pump has been replaced 2 times with a service call in for the same issue. My unit is not working again. That will be 3 pumps replaced in 5 months. They will not replace the product and will not guarantee me in writing that they will replace the pump if it goes again after warranty. The only reason Im even checking off one of the rating stars is for those customer servant agents that apologized wishing they could do more for me but their hands were tied. Has to be very hard to work for a company that isnt based on ethics.

To all of you that just brought your beautiful new LG refrigerators you must not have done any research. Because there thousands of dissatisfied customers with faulty refrigerators, compressors complaints and and on and on. I bought mine brand spanking new with French door and dual ice makers. Beautiful. It stopped working almost up to the date of when I bought it and no more warranty on the unit but there was one on the compressor but only for replacement. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. If I had known this would happen I would have never bought this piece of junk. Not only can you not get through to anyone to fix it. You have to pay for someone to come out and diagnose the problem that you already know what the problem is. Then you have to pay for the repairmen (who is contracted) to come out and install the compressor which according to other loyal consumers may or may not work. But only if you can find one to come AND keep his appointment. After many tries I decided to give up and get a new one. But I will never ever in my life buy another LG product. I knew their phones were crap. Because I had to have mine replaced three times. I am an iPhone user now. But do your research anyone that reads this. My unit was bought in March 2013. And it went out in April 2019. I knew I couldn’t have been the only one so I read and found that all of the people that bought theirs after mine complained. If I had read all of those complaints I wouldn’t have had to buy another refrigerator six years later. Please stay way from LG. Even when you do call for assistance the people that you speak to are rude and condescending (only if you need help. But not if they are getting something from you. Then you may be treated with respect. So STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY. Go to the proven manufacturer our parents used. GE WHIRLPOOL OR KENMORE OR FRIGIDAIRE. Thank you.

After multiple breakdowns, LG accused me of buying a used defective refrigerator. The French door unit was purchased NEW at Home Depot. LG finally claimed that there were duplicate units out there with the same serial number, and that I had received the good one. How can there be duplicate serial numbers, where one unit is a defective unit? Very suspicious. We purchased an LG front loading washer, WM2101H, almost 3 years ago. I thought the bad smells from the washer was our water (we have hard public well water). Reading the reviews, I can see I was mistaken. Just recently our washer stopped spinning. We called out a repairman who told us that is would cost $850 to repair and oh, by the way, only $205 is covered under warranty. It wasnt just one thing. It was the seal that broke which caused the motor to get wet? I dont remember exactly the chain of events. I was in stun mode when I talked to the repairman. He said that the washer does really bad with hard water and water softener. Funny, they never told us that when we bought the thing. Im pretty upset! I am on my second LG 30.5 Cu Ft Door in Door French Door Refrigerator with Ice and water dispenser LFX31945ST. Price over 2.5k. Thank god for Best buy return and exchange policy or I would be screwed. After reviewing websites recommendation claiming this LG was the #1 rated product, I soon came to realize those rating are mostly on features and design. The reviewers do not actually keep that refrigerator in house and truly test the quality and durability of the product. So I purchased my brand new fridge - super excited. As a family of 5, I need something big and nice. During the next two week my wife kept noticing the freezer was not maintain the temperature. Give you an example: anytime you take out, ice cream, I normally had to let it sit on the counter for a minute before I was able to scope it out. With my top of the line LG Fridge I can take the container and squeeze with my bare hands. Call the LG tech, replace the motherboard. 24 hours later the whole fridge failed, all food lost. Call Best buy, I believed in the product and the review. This must of been a unique experience. Today is day 14 and the freezer still does not freeze properly, sending it back. Never ever will look at LG for anything again.

I called LG for follow up, the operator couldnt figure out the notes, I had him read them back to me and stopped him where it stated, not repairable. I had to send pictures and a copy of the receipt that were already sent by the repair tech. After multiple hours on the phone I finally got a CNN number For a defective return. They said they will call me to arrange delivery.A week goes by and nothing. I called back and spoke with Alexander, he re-reviewed, Sorry, nothing we can do. I escalated to his supervisor, Willie who made it clear that I was bothering him and stated, I will not cover anything on this unit, go back to J.C. Penney. I had friends and relatives who spoke quite highly of LG. And because I trust their judgment, I decided to heed their recommendation. And Im so very glad that I did, because my experience with LG has been nothing short of wonderful so far. Spacious freezer, sleek design, compact, portable and ease of use is off the charts. Indeed, most of the features are satisfactory and I can think of few, if any, that arent. Though the bottom shelves are somewhat small for my liking. Theres too little room to store all of the cheeses, cold cuts, etc. That we consume as a family. But thats obviously a very small inconvenience.

Our $3,500+ super capacity LG refrigerator stopped cooling at the 6 year mark. Several repair attempts have been made in the past month under warranty and at least $2100 in food has spoiled. Weve also spent $370 on floor repairs from water damage leaking from the fridge after the second repair attempt. My fiance and I have been tirelessly working the frontlines 6-7 days a week taking direct care of critically ill COVID patients at hospitals with little time to grocery shop (or sleep) since this pandemic started. For a month now, my family has been eating from our hospitals vending machines or relying on fast food delivery service which has drained our accounts. LGs policy states a maximum of $300 food reimbursement and if our unit is deemed unrepairable even under warranty, we have no option but to pay for junk hauling. After purchasing several high end appliances from LG, this is a huge slap in our faces.

Thank God I caught it when I did or we have at least a couple hundred dollars of food gone to waste. Would not recommend LG to anyone. Buyer beware as the warranty may cover the compressor but we may have to pay to get it installed. And its not a cheap install either.

We purchased an LG lsxs26326s side by side refrigerator (as well as a microwave, oven & dishwasher as we remodeled our kitchen) in April 2015. On Dec 16, 2016 it had stopped cooling. Fortunately, we have a 20+ yr old Kenmore in the basement we were able to move all the food to. Had our own repairman come out Sunday to see what the problem was. Determined the compressor in our ONE AND A HALF YEAR OLD refrigerator had gone out. Now, this part has a TEN YEAR warranty through LG (hm, maybe that should have told us something) HOWEVER, only the PART is covered NOT labor. Sunday night I call LG Service and after a very long and frustrating discussion with someone who barely spoke English, I was informed a Letter of Authorization would be sent by email to our repairman so he could order the part. I requested a rush on that letter as it was a week until Christmas & we had family coming from out of town. Monday, no letter. Tuesday, still no letter. I call again Tuesday night and am informed they tried calling the repairman and got no answer or return call (I know this is a lie as I spoke with them that day to confirm contact from LG). At this point, I demand to have the matter escalated and to speak to a manager. I get put on hold for a while and FINALLY get a manager, whom I might add speaks English clearly (YAY). She proceeds to tell me something completely different than I was told by the previous two reps. Stating they have to talk to the tech while they are at the refrigerator and able to guide them through what to check. THEN, once diagnosed as the compressor the letter of authorization would be sent so the tech could order the part, which would take 3-5 DAYS to receive!!!Now, I am getting angry. She tells me they had available techs on the 20th, 21st & that day (22nd) so I could have just had their tech come out and diagnose it and they would have had the compressor the next day. I told her there was no way in hell I was paying THEIR techs an arm & a leg to fix the refrigerator I purchased a YEAR & HALF ago when my guy was only charging me $60/hr!!! Her response was simply OH. Finally, she send the letter of authorization by email while still on the phone with me. Wednesday morning, I call my tech & they have the email (THANK GOD). They order the part. Thankfully, it comes on Thursday and our guy comes out that evening to replace it. Now, a month later, we are having problems with the ice maker not making ice. UGH!!! I wish we would have just gone with different appliances. I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase another LG product. Purchasing these appliances has literally been a nightmare. They should have paid us to take them for what we have been through with all these appliances!

The freezer design and quality are acceptable; the upper part is not. Both door latches have broken; though not at the same time, it still necessitated two service calls. Since then we have had one tech come to our home because it stopped cooling and freezing and he said that it was dirty underneath and it was only 6 months old! By the time he came out which was 3 weeks later it started running again. He unplugged it and and cleaned it and did some things to it. Since that time we have been cleaning it and changing filters every 3 months and it still has gone out 2 more times. Now I have a call into them AGAIN and they are coming out on Aug 18th and LG gave me a ref number so he doesnt charge me because NOW it is out of warranty as they say. They said to call that number and all charges will be covered. I spent over $3000.00 for this refrigerator and it is a piece of garbage! Bought an LG refrigerator for 4 years ago. 2 months ago our refrigerator and freezer stopped working. We lost everything in the fridge and freezer. As we no longer had a warranty on it we used our American Home Shield warranty. They sent a technician out to diagnose that it was the compressor. The repairman stated there was 10 year warranty on the compressors because of problems that LG has had. Because of that he couldnt fix our refrigerator LG did not contract with them for warranty work after waiting a week for him to get there. American Home Shield then sent out Sears not to fix the problem but to diagnose it again. That was the end of week two. We then had to wait another week for the compressor to come in and for Sears to come and fix it.3 weeks without a refrigerator or freezer. Living out of A cooler. The 1st technician told us, Dont be surprised if something else goes out because your compressor has made your refrigerator work too hard as it was dying. Sears tech however denied this statement and said no. Once we fix the compressor no problem. Well its now 2 months later my fridge and freezer do not work again. Lost everything again. Took a week for American Home Shield to have Sears come out again for a recall on their original work and he is determined it is the motherboard that is bad and he cant tell if the compressor is bad because the motherboard is not working so well have to wait until the motherboard comes and he fixes it and then we might have to wait again for a new compressor. Once we fix it no problem. BS.Not happy with this LG product. I got it because of all the problems I had with my Frigidaire. Is there not a refrigerator company out there that is selling quality products. So now that Ive lost two freezer full of food two refrigerators fulls of food and living out of a ice chest for now for weeks and more to go Im not a happy camper with LG. Not to mention we go thru bags of ice at $4 a bag and have to put new bag in every other day. So at 4 weeks so far with both repairs LG has cost me $56.00 in ice and we dont even have it fixed yet.

Our front load LG washer began giving us problems 8 months from purchase. I called LG twice and they recommended unplugging the unit to reset the computer. The machine would work after waiting 6-8 hrs. Eventually, that did not work and repair was needed. The repair men discover two tears in the rubber gasket that were caused by metal clips below that had 1) sharp edges and 2) placed too near the gasket. Over the year of use, the tears occurred and dripped onto the thermistor. It was a manufacturing/quality issue, even supported by the repair man and discussed with their technician at LG who agreed and took notes. LG refused to pay for the repair because it was outside the warranty period. They were disrespectful on the phone and emailing exchange kept sticking to company line of outside the warranty period. Good companies stick by their workmanship. I believe they can make good machines. Mine was a lemon and they couldnt care less.

We purchased a new LG French Door refrigerator on 02/09/2017 from RC Willy in Rocklin, California. Since that time, we have had a new compressor replaced twice and are now waiting for another service call. During our last compressor replacement on 02/03/2020, the service technician asked us why are you having this replaced since its just going to break again? He said this is a continuing problem and will never be reliable/fixed. Well, its happened again and we are now waiting for another service appointment. Interesting, though, that when my husband mentioned to the LG service representative what our last service technician had said, we now have a different company coming and we live in a smaller community. When we called the LG phone number at 800/243-000, they stressed the Covid-19 situation and keeping their employees safe. What about their customers who are staying home with now rotted food? Because of the three failed compressors, we have lost a large amount of food equalling $$$$. When we asked about LG replacing our unit with a new unit that will keep our food cold, we were told that they can only send out a service technician and have it repaired (again and again and again). I purchased a LG refrigerator from Abt Electronics in 12/15. Less than 8 months, the ice maker was not working. The manufacturer came out, ordered the part and had it delivered to my house the next day. He returned to install it. Then less than 18 months after purchasing the new refrigerator, it started making a strange noise. The next morning, there was water in it.Called LG and was told the warranty was up since it was over a year old to call Abt and use my extended warranty service. Called Abt, they diagnosed the problem as it needing a new condenser! Had to wait on the part. Returned a week later installed the condenser. Later the same day, the panel on the doorways showing an error code and the ice maker or water dispenser wouldnt work nor was it cooling in the refrigerator but the freezer was working. Used my extended service warranty again, had to wait a week to get the part and reschedule another service call. They came out to install the fan.I have now had all three major parts on this less than 1.5 year old LG refrigerator. What else can go wrong now? Thank goodness I had an old 30 year old refrigerator in my garage to use as a backup! Wouldnt ever buy an LG refrigerators again. Hoping this last five years! Many years ago I purchased an LG washer and dryer. I was so happy with their quality that when I was ready to purchase new appliances for my kitchen I didnt consider any other brand. I saved my money for over a year and was proud to purchase matching fridge, stove, and dishwasher in black stainless steel almost 2 years ago. My new appliances were wonderful until a month ago when the finish started flaking off and before you say it is my fault, no I do not use abrasive cleaners on the finish. The stove started first, where the handle meets the door and now the fridge is doing the same. I am now embarrassed to have these in my kitchen. I emailed my complaint to LG and the response was very complacent, they really didnt seem to care. I will never buy LG anything, ever.

So far there have been two fires as a result of this issue. One caused damage to their LG range hood/microwave and upper cabinets. This stove is dangerous and they should not be allowed to sell it. We have contacted LG several times. They had scheduled an in-home visit to see the issue but never showed up. We have still not received a satisfactory response. I bought this machine in March, 2016. I got a 10 year warranty and that was a selling point. Ive followed the manual to the T. I clean the water filters, tub clean every month, etc. So I am doing my due diligence. However, since the day I got it it hasnt done a load the same way twice no matter the setting. It doesnt use enough water and ruins clothing. I have a very bad back so I had to put a short hose to connect to my slop sink because it was taking a toll on my arthritis. It cannot even begin to do a heavy duty load! I always have to add more water to every single load so that nothing gets ruined. My old machine was 20 years old and did an incredible job compared to this piece of junk. I bought rubber foot holders to make sure it didnt move around which did work but the machine itself is useless. My husband has to wear fire retardant clothing to work, which is extremely expensive, and even when I add water it continues to destroy these from clothes faster than Ive ever seen a washer abuse clothing. The load sensor is useless. Its just there for bells and whistles. There is supposed be an app to tag on to the machine to do smart diagnosis. There is no such app available anywhere. But it says there is and gives step by step instructions on how to do it which takes up more pages in the manual than anything else in there. But its just filler to make it look good. This was a selling point I liked too, but as I said, its non-existent. Ive tried contacting them a few times but I dont get any response. None. I need to either get them to replace this with something that actually works or return my money. I should have bought the Samsung like was going to initially. Every time I try to use the Bulky/Bedding cycle it fills the tub to the very top and Im always afraid its going to overflow. Even if its not a big load it fills to the top. Now, this is supposed to be a high efficiency machine but I hardly call that efficient at all. I need something that works. On top of it all, I bought at H.H. Gregg near me which isnt even there anymore and I refuse to let them come look at it just to tell me I need a new main board, which seems to be the reason for everyones problems, according to all the reviews Ive read. LIFE IS NOT GOOD WITH THIS MACHINE! I need real help here. If anyone can suggest something positive that might get me a new machine that actually works, Im all ears.

This is the worst machine ever. They are now selling a 2 year old machine at local flea markets to see if a sucker will buy it. True Balance means it will never truly balance and will not wash one load of clothing without it taking you hours. This machine might work on cement and only cement because if it is on a wood flooring it will not work.I have found that if I load clothes, it keeps trying to sense the clothing, then I shut it off, restart and let it go. I can get half a cycle done until it spins then is off balance again. Then you shut it off, turn it back on to spin. Shut it off, then restart with rinse and spin... You can sometimes get it to work. The worst design ever for this high priced piece of junk.LG is not a company I will ever purchase from again. Do not buy this machine and do not take this machine if it is given to you for free. All other comments are true. It will not wash clothes. It just spins around and uses endless amounts of water to balance. Hours upon hours for 1 small load. If you have this machine do what I listed above. Have the exact same type of clothing, start a cycle, let it get it wet, when it gives you the error message shut it off, restart when clothes are wet, then when it does the IE shut it off, restart on spin, then restart on rinse/spin. You can get one load done if you are lucky.LG is a horrible company. My LG phone failed after a year, the Washer has never worked... and other items. No more LG. Life is not Good with LG. Life stinks with LG and you pay the price. We paid over $900.00 for this washer and it never worked right. We are seasonal so by the time we returned the warranty is up and they cant find the extended warranty in Lowes system. Go figure. The call center was also a joke. Not in the USA and they tell you you are out of luck. Stay away from LG.

We purchased a Kenmore Model 79551833412 side by side refrigerator that was manufactured for Sears by LG. This units compressor failed after 17 months. I came to learn there was a class action lawsuit filed against LG for this same issue which unfortunately was dismissed. Because my mother in law is 88 years old and the estimated cost of repair was nearly the cost of a new refrigerator we chose to purchase her a new refrigerator rather than wait for it to be repaired. Sears says their warranty is only one year but the Sears rep said that the manufacturer provides a longer warranty on the compressor but labor would not be included. I contacted LG to see if they would do anything for us. They said that our recourse was with Sears so they wont stand behind their product. Stay away from LG refrigerators.

Washer does not clean clothes..have to wash twice. Tried all cycles. Customer service reads from a script... Dont waste your money. Spin cycle is too much, afraid machine is going to cause damage. I thought I did my research before purchase, obviously not, sorry I didnt check this site. Purchased from Home Depot in July 2019. Too late at this point. Never again of LG products.

We purchased an LG refrigerator (Model #LDN20718SW/02) in January 2012. We have replaced the bottom shelf twice now. The second time it broke again within the first week. We have an extended warranty which would not cover replacement if broken within 3 months. We now have a shelf that is also broke that is not covered by the warranty. We do not have children living at home and are not hard on appliances. The plastic in this fridge is very brittle and does not stand up to normal everyday use. LG does not allow purchase of parts, even through an appliance repair, so you can replace these parts yourself. In Canada you must pay a service person to come out to replace these parts!!

LG -LBN20511WW REFRIGERATOR - Purchased 4.75 years ago... All interior plastic parts have degraded over the last 3 years, leaving all bins, rails, shelving broken or breaking! Even go so far as the lining in the fridge disintegrating with insulation exposed! No warranty coverage, fresh food spoils after a few days! Totally disgusted... the furniture retailer where it was purchased refused to do anything, warranty provider refused to help and all communications with LG have gone unanswered! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRAND!

I chose to buy it because it was a good price and the correct size and color, and also the LG refrigerator met my initial expectations. The LG refrigerator had basic features. For example, it kept my food very chilly, nice and cold but not too cold. Just right I would say. The only thing I dont like about really any refrigerator is that they dont have a self clean option.

We bought a $3,000 LG refrigerator in 2013. Countless minor problems are needless to say here. Just last week, the water cooler and ice maker stopped working. When I called LG, the representative I spoke with did not tell me about the common problems and advise me to wait a couple of days for the frost to clear due to the temporary ice maker fan problem. She entered me into a service contract that cost me $258.07 because its out of warranty, and said if I cancelled the contract it would cost me $100.00. Desperate to have the unit fixed, I agreed.Twelve hours later, the unit was back on. I called LG and said I discovered that LG had a lawsuit on the same problem, I needed a full refund. The rep. said someone from the extended warranty dept. will call me back soon. I waited 24 hours later. No one called. I called them back and requested the appointment and contract be cancelled and followed up with a cancellation e-mail. Today, the technician called me to confirmed he was on his way to look at the unit. I have never encountered anything like this. If you shop for an LG refrigerator, you better check the consumer review. I would think twice from now on before buying another LG product.
