We purchased the LG washing machine from Sears for our new home and it never worked right. Sears failed to work with us to properly correct the problem. Finally, Sears came out to repair the machine. However, that made the problem worse. We asked to speak to a supervisor and were told they would call back within 2 hours. After waiting 4 days, we called Sears customer service and again asked to speak to a supervisor. We were told to not call Sears, but call LG. We did and they too sent a repairman (very professional), who said the machine was defective. LG agreed to send us a new replacement. The replacement arrived, but that too failed to work at all. Both the installer and I spoke with LG, that tried to blame it on a water pressure problem. There is no water pressure issue here. The installer stated the new machine is defective. The installers removed the new defective machine and put back the old defective machine. Incredible. Although LG has promised to send yet another new machine, I am now at the point where we will request a full refund. I believe we all have grounds for a class action lawsuit against LG and perhaps Sears. Anyone interested?

This washing machine (LG WT1101CW) blew me away when they delivered it. The controls are up front so you dont have to reach back to set them. I put quilts and towels to wash and it remained balanced which was a problem with my old washer. It is very quiet and spin dries so fast that the clothes almost feel dry. What a washer. LG customer service told me if I ever have a problem call a certain number and put the phone next to the washer and it will diagnose the problem from signals from the washer.

Both my son and I bought LG washers. Bearings out on mine and cost to repair was equal to buying new washer. He had the extended warranty. Called the help line. Someone just kept repeating with a foreign accent, Only the drum (stainless will be around forever) and the motor are covered. My model had mold and mildew problems from the beginning. Now we both have nice dryers and will have mismatched washers. Beware! Bearings are not covered and you will have a flood, no washer, mismatched appliances, ruined flooring. Of course our State is not in the class action against LG. Guess where we would like to stick the stainless drum!

This range is a major fire hazard! I cannot believe it has not already been recalled. The slightest brush up against the knobs will accidentally turn them on. Weve already had one small fire as a result. It terrifies me! In addition to this, the oven is suddenly not heating evenly and its only two years old. We are having someone look at it ASAP. I regret this purchase and would strongly advise consumers to STAY AWAY FROM THIS APPLIANCE.

I purchased my LG refrigerator in 2013, 4 1/2 years later the compressor goes out. With the 10 year warranty still on it, I contacted LG. Dealing with their customer service department was a nightmare. To begin with, they had no service technicians in my area, then they give me three authorized service companies to call, all were either wrong numbers or they dont work on LG appliances anymore. LG had service technicians but had none a available. So whats the purpose of a warranty if you cant honor it?As Im searching the internet to read complaints on LG, I came across a site indicating a class action lawsuit against LG for their faulty linear compressors posted last month, so I searched more and learned there was a previous lawsuit. LG is aware of their faulty compressors yet they have no desire to help consumers get repairs. What am I suppose to do other than join in on this new class action lawsuit, which could take years. I had to toss out over $300 worth of food, purchase a mini fridge and deal with ice chests. And still without a fridge. I cant afford to purchase another frig right now. I will NEVER purchase another LG anything, phone, TV, refrigerator, washer dryer nothing with a LG logo. Their warranty is a joke as well as their customer service.

The LG steam washer I purchased about 3 years ago has been problematic and I would strongly advise against purchasing one of these units. The malodorous tub in this front loader is likely secondary to the water retention within the gasket Despite leaving the door open to dry, something unnecessary in any top loader, the musty black mildew persists! Obviously an engineering design flaw, the tub cannot empty completely. Despite leveling this machine on a concrete floor with the drawer pedestal, the machine shakes and rattles and dances over the concrete floor. The machine will never stay in one place despite attempts to keep it there irrespective of load weights. This machine is a piece of junk and LG will not listen to these complaints. Waste of money should have bought the Miele. All of their products are superbly German engineered! Please enlist a class action suit. The trailing entries are testament to the litany of problems.

LG WaveForce TrueBalance anti-vibration system Model #WT5101HV, Product Cod
LG WaveForce TrueBalance anti-vibration system Model #WT5101HV, Product Code #T1309ADFH6.ASSEEUS. Bought washer & matching dryer 11/27/2010 with 5 year extra warranty on both. Three years of hell! Large-capacity washer that simply WILL NOT BALANCE, but will instead of sounding a buzzer that it is OFF BALANCE, will just restart the countdown timer as it REFILLS with WATER and starts the rinse cycle... again and again and again. Found out the hard way one time 5 hours later that it was still restarting the rinse cycle because it could not balance itself, yet it had never once sounded with the buzzer. Yes, the buzzer can work on occasion, but the load has to be very off balance. When I first got it and the countdown timer reset and the rinse cycle started again, I mistook that it was just part of the machines normal operation, but there is nothing normal for the waste of water and the amount of time I spend standing in front of the washer trying to catch it before it resets AND the amount of time I spend rearranging the load to try and balance it in the tub to the machine balance sensors satisfaction... up to 30 minutes at a time moving heavy wet clothes around or removing them by hand to place one on this side and one on that side... endless aggravation. Even if I use the lowest spin and step it up to the highest spin, it will not balance. If you dont use the highest spin cycle (or step up from low to high) it takes nearly 2 hours to dry clothes on the 2nd highest spin cycle. The factory recall notice that I received was merely an insult to the problem because it does not address the ACTUAL issue -- which is that it will not balance. Instead, the recall wants to tell me not to wash raincoats or such nonsensical how to or not to use the machine properly. It will not balance with: ONLY pants or ONLY shirts or ONLY towels or ONLY pajamas. The bigger the load in this large-capacity washer, the bigger the balance problem. If I wash a tiny load like socks, it might actually finish the load all by itself once-in-a-while, but why have a LARGE-CAPACITY washer if it is useless? If you mix shirts and pants, be prepared to untangle the biggest wet knots you have ever seen! I stopped using the low-water features a long time ago when my clothes did not clean properly, so I now use the Bulky/Bedding setting, which fills the tub with water. When I used the low-water features, the balance problem was exactly the same. I always keep the door open when not in use, so it does not stink itself up and requires special tub cleaning. I have only had to clean it once. Since the normal way this company has responded to the myriad of consumer complaints is even more impossible than dealing with the product, I see no reason to play their game of endless service calls when NO SERVICEMAN CAN POSSIBLY REDESIGN A FLAWED APPLIANCE. I have not heard of any service call fixing this models problems. I bought a 5-year service policy with 2 years left. This machines design is a lemon, so where is the companys restitution to us consumers? I dont want the upgraded software because it takes away wash settings and spin RPMs that I bought in the first place. A recall that is stone-cold useless and removes some original wash (gentle) and spin (extra high) variations is their restitution, so consumer take heed.

I’ve known about LG Refrigerators for a long time and I liked its design. I was so excited to find it. I have a bottom freezer refrigerator and I like the adjustable shelf although I wish there are more shelves that are more adjustable. Also, I can have shelves on either side of the refrigerator at different heights. I wanted a single-door refrigerator and its a double-door but it’s alright. It looks nice and it’s fine. However, I’m not happy that my freezer keeps frosting up. It took five or six calls to get someone to come out and look at the freezer when it was frosting up. So, it took several weeks. If I was working, I probably wouldn’t have been able to stay on top of that and now, I have the problem again. I bought another refrigerator because mine was frosting so much and I couldn’t keep anything in there frozen. Now, I’m getting a space problem. I’ve had it a few months. The motor seems to be working fine and the refrigerator seems to be keeping the right temperature but there’s something wrong with the seal on the freezer.

It is now over three months and no rebate. To get through to them on the phone is impossible. My vendor has done nothing about this as well. This is the second washer we purchased from LG and the first one lasted three years and was unable to be fixed. We purchased a higher grade, better washer that has now broken after 2 years. The warranty company came and replaced all new parts and left. I went to wash a load and it was still not working with the same issue. They are now unable to come back for two weeks! Whos paying my laundry bill and if it’s not fixed again, do we get a replacement?! What type of company sells a $1,300.00 washer that lasts two years!

LG has met my initial expectations. The best thing about the LG refrigerator was that it was cheap. I mean I had got the thing for like a 100 bucks or something. It was the best choice I ever made. The worst thing about the LG refrigerator was that I had to reset the power switch every time there was a power cut or something in the neighborhood.

Purchased this dishwasher 4 years ago. Last week we started getting the code PF which means power failure. From the LG comments posted, they would lead you to believe the power supply was interrupted and the PF is only a code and not a failure/fault code. Turns out it was a fault. We turned it on last night and the control panel immediately burned out. Saw some sparks/flashes and a puff of smoke and electrical smell. Dishwasher was then disconnected from the power source. If you have the PF code you should note this is very probably the control panel shorting out. Unfortunately, dishwasher failed just outside of our extended warranty period. We will definitely switch brands. Dishwashers should last longer than four years!!! Definitely dissatisfied with the LG dishwasher.

Purchased our washer from Home Depot about (4) years ago, and if I could return it, I would. This has been the worst machine I have ever had. It doesnt dispense enough water to clearly wash clothes. I know this as my husband drives a truck for a living and brings home very grungy work clothes, and I can never get them spotless. Its really disappointing when you spend good money on appliances, to only have that money wasted on something you cant return. This machine smells, rattles and take forever to complete a cycle. Theres no rushing to get a load done at night. I could go to the laundromat faster!

Purchased a highly rated LG refrigerator in 2011 with a 10 year warranty on the compressor. 8 years to the day, the compressor died. Compressor is under warranty, but other parts & labor are my expense. When the repairman went to install the replacement compressor sent from LG he found it was not the same. In fact it was very different. LG Parts dept said it was compatible & should work. The repairman, who has 30 + years experience, told us that the refrigerator would need rewiring & even then there was no guarantee it would work. He estimated his labor time to be 4 hours. Further discussion with LG brought no other resolution. Bottom line, they do not have the compressor for older models. They could have offered to put the labor under warranty but they did not. Their final word was that someone on their end (from the parts dept) would instruct the repairman how to install the compressor. We know this repairman for over 20 years. He is very honest & very good. He said trying to install the compressor sent, as is would be a fire hazard. His recommendation is to save our money on the labor cost & put it to a new refrigerator. NOT LG. Another comment: I had little choice in 2011 when I went to buy a refrigerator the size I wanted. The bottom freezer was the style. I hate it for many reasons. You cant put boxes in without them jamming; even ice cream containers. I freeze meat & chicken in air tight bags in order to fit more in. I am now looking for a top freezer instead.

In May of 2009, I renovated my kitchen and bought two new appliances - an over the range microwave and a dishwasher, both LG products.Last week, on February 8, 2012, the microwave stopped heating. I called the company and after describing what happened was told that the magnetron went out. Since this is my second home, this microwave hasnt been used more than 100 times from the date of installation and I felt they should take responsibility for the repairs. I was told that the magnetron is covered but the labor is not. Then they told me to call a certain company to have it fixed. The service company said that they will order the part and when the part arrives, they will call me to have it installed. They refused to give me an estimate for the cost of labor. Eventually, after several calls, I was told it is around $220! At this point, I sent two emails to the LG company and as of today, February 15, 2012 got no reply. My other appliance, the LDF9810ST dishwasher, simply does not wash. I wash everything before putting it in and, again I wash and dry some dishes after the 3-hour cycle is done. Also, the plastic baskets are falling down or do not slide back. It is the worst dishwasher I have ever came across. When I told them about this problem I was told, Oops! You bought a floor model, and because of it ,we cant help you at all!At this point, I am angry, and I feel used and abused by a company that makes such bad products and cares so little for the customers. What a self-centered motto on their website, Life is Good! Whos life?I will never buy another LG product again and I will advise all my family, relatives and friends to not buy LG products either.

LG Wave Washer and Dryer (Granite) - This is the second time the drum in the dryer has come loose. The first time because we left a review, LG repaired the issue only for it to happen again. My husband is a Quality Engineer and deals with these things all the time. This dryer should have been recalled and the washer is rusted really bad. This set cost me a lot of money and the dryer is now too dangerous to use because there is a huge hole in the drum and you could cut yourself. It was beautiful to look at but does not work well. Purchased an expensive french door refrigerator in 2015. In 2016 the motherboard went out and we were out of a refrigerator for 2 weeks. Was advised to purchase the extended warranty to lower the repair cost (to $300). Now, in 2017, the compressor is out and we are again without a fridge for a week and lost all our food. The kicker? The compressor is under a 10 year warranty but only for the $160 part. LG is still charging me $400 for labor. Its their flat fee for warranty work, regardless of how long it takes. They overcharge for the labor to cover the cost of all the parts they have to replace. This fridge has cost me ~$1,000 is service and lost food and its only 3 years old. Spoke with supervisor Donald and he was rude, interrupted me constantly, and flatly refused to provide any customer to lower the labor charge since Ive had so many problems with this fridge. He told me to call other techs and see what they would charge--I have. No one else will work on LG fridge compressors because they fail too often. Im filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and sending a letter to the corporate office. I encourage everyone here who is a victim of LG to do the same. We had purchased a LG washing machine from Best Buy less than a year ago and have had constant problems with it since. Soon after we installed it in our new house we had it leak water throughout the night from the front of the washing machine. After contacting LG about it they did a test on it (over the phone, as it was a smart washing) and said it was OK to use. Against the better judgement of my wife she went ahead and used it and the same thing happened again, but this time worse. The water created about $8600.00 in damages, had floor damage, water in the vents that collapsed the AC vent under the house, and mold starting to appear on our walls. Fortunately we had our own house insurance which covered out expense, and we had to pay a small $250.00 deductible. After explaining the situation to LG, they asked us to send them a damage report and all the information which we did, they refused to replace the washing machine and instead sent a technician out to fix it, who came out four separate times to fix it. He said that there was a fault with the machine and we were afraid that it would happen again. LG also told us that because the washing machine was a display model that we purchased it was not under warranty. When I called through customer service to ask them if I purchased a display model from Best Buy would it be covered by warranty, they said yes (a direct contradiction to what was told.) I asked them for a transcript to verify that which they sent. After 4 attempts to fix the problem they still wouldnt change the machine or give us our money back, and we ended up having to pay out of our pocket for the technician to come out. To this day we still have a faulty washing machine. After calling them several times to try and get my deductible back from LGs own insurance company they kept telling me that they would call me in two days, and never did. This happened three separate occasions and it has been about 6 months since the accident happened, and they have been in possession of all the documentation for around 3-4 months and have done nothing about it. We are very disappointed in their service and do not expect them to do anything about our situation. This is the first time Ive complained online to any company, but I feel that other consumers need to know.

That cool feature where you can link your smart phone for a diagnostic check is only good for the first year. I was told he could schedule a serviceman to come out to check the codes on the door panel for a beginning fee of $89.00. I said I was unable to afford it and hung up. My son went online and looked up the error codes, which this rep refused to tell me what they meant and was not listed in the manual. After further online research, I was able to figure out what I could do and 24 hours later, it was back to working. It was the icemaker fan, which appears to be a flaw in these fridges. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I researched different products 2 years ago when I discovered that my husband was planning on leaving me. I insisted on what I thought was top of the line appliances in the kitchen. So I now have a fridge I cant rely on, a dishwasher that doesnt clean dishes no matter what soap or rinse agent I use and an oven that works but it is a good thing I dont cook much. I am disabled and on a fixed income, so I was hoping that my new kitchen would last me 10-15 years but may get less than 5 at this rate. Dont go by reviews on their website since they only use certain reviews.

The top-loading washer is less than 2 years old. 2 senior citizens have been using it minimally. The supposed motherboard has crashed. The technician says it ends in the numbers 501 and should be 701, so it needs an upgrade. Called LG and they said so sad, I didnt purchase an extended warranty. I need to PAY to have a defective washer fixed?? I can see if it was something I had abused, or if was used excessively, but this is a DEFECT. Anyone else have any success getting LG to own up?

Purchased a LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot in 2011. Almost 6 years to the date of purchase the unit quit working. After calling LG they stated that the compressor was covered but not labor. Lg suggested two certified appliance repair resources in our area. First referral never returned our call. Second sent a service person out on a week. Technician stated that our unit was the cleanest unit he had ever seen but unfortunately the compressor was bad. Our out of pocket expense will be $600.01 for a refrigerator that is only 6 years old! Our previous refrigerator was 28 years old and cost 1/3 of the cost of this LG. Called LG to file a complaint with no satisfaction. In fact the LG Representative said LG could not help with any labor cost and that we should remember that the unit USA man made product and was not perfect. Really!?? I will never purchase or recommend an LG Product to anyone!

Within the first year of owning a new LG gas range, the 5 burner control knobs were breaking where the knob slides onto the shaft of the gas control mechanism. I tried repairing it myself and it worked for a while, but now they are so bad they need replacing. Why can it not be made of metal? This simple solution would solve the problem. While searching various parts replacement sites, the knobs are over $70.00 each to replace. 5 x 70 = $350.00 for knobs? Is this customer service and support after the sale? I am so disappointed in the quality of these knobs and the expense to replace them that I may replace the whole range on principle and never purchase an LG product again, of any type. What happens when I put the new knobs on and they crack and break? Another $350.00 in todays dollars for knobs? I dont think so. I have checked around and there are no replacement knobs of better quality available. LG needs to get their act together.

New 2018 LG set top load stacked set - $2500. Washer shakes at spin & dryer shakes because of it. There is something metal in the dryer slamming against metal when all of this occurs. LG won’t fix this — under warranty!!! This repair takes 2 hours - they want me to pay for this flaw. To top it off our clothes smell like a moldy wet dog - from a few months of owning I can smell my husbands “clean” t-shirt across the room. Oh yeah add vinegar, bleach, leave door open, drain the drain, buy expensive tablets to clean every week, run a clean cycle - and use tons of water doing that. Save water? Not now. LG you need to step up your repair game & fix these things.

Acquired a LG washer model WT1101CW, 2/4/14 from Stine in Broussard, Louisiana. Washer broke November 2015. The warranty that we bought from Stine was through NSI Protection Plus at the same time. They sold the contract to Warrantech 800-279-1662. Our washer broke again March 24, 2016 (same problem) over a week ago and on the same day a call was made to Warrantech and A&E to get our washer fixed. Someone came out and ordered the parts. The parts came through UPS 4 days later and meanwhile we wait 3 days until today to have the repair done. Took off of work (self-employed) and waited from 8:00 to 3:00 p.m. Somehow Sears is involved with A&E and the guy states that the parts are partially broken and that the order is incomplete. He also stated that he would not be able to do the repair because he is with Sears and they do not get paid through Warrantech - What is up with this? Meanwhile I call Stine rep and Warrantech calls me and I tell him how crazy all of this is and he hangs up on me!

I purchased an LG refrigerator. I received it on October 9th 2020. By October 26, 2020 I was already calling LG because the refrigerator was no longer working. LG sent out 3 different technicians who gave me different reports with issues with the refrigerator the compressor, the panel and issues inside of the refrigerator. I was unhappy with the product and asked LG if I could get a new refrigerator or a refund because I did not feel comfortable accepting LG to repair a product I only had for 17 days. After going back and forth and speaking to one supervisor Cecilia I was told that I needed to submit of purchase for the refrigerator to an email they provided and that someone from the refund department would contact me within 5 days.I never received a call so I called them in which a customer service representative told me my claim was denied and he couldn’t give me a reason why. I called back on Monday November 30th. Asked to speak with a supervisor. She refused to give me her name. She transferred me to the refund dept. They then informed me that they never denied my claim because the customer service dept never submitted my claim. They put in their notes that I needed to accept the repair. It is now December 1, 2020. I still do not have a refrigerator. I have 4 small children and I have to buy food everything to cook for them. This is unacceptable and the worse customer service I have received.

I waited 40 years to have a nice kitchen, and I was taken in by the good looks -- and yes, I admit, the blue oven -- on the LG. What a mistake! We bought the 5 burner gas range, dishwasher and the microwave with the expanding vent. The dishwasher was a lemon out of the box -- Lowes just picked it up and left a new one. The microwave vent kept popping out, no way to secure it. We had to take the same product as a replacement because the bracket was drilled in the new tile wall. Waited TEN WEEKS for the replacement. I can faintly smell gas from this range; a snarky local repairman insists its my imagination. I entered a second complaint when the oven started to fluctuate wildly - set it at 350, it soars to 475 and then drops to 300. I love to bake and gave up on my holiday baking because this was so bad. The repairmen - from a second place - gave me a little lecture about reading the handbook and not using an independent oven thermometer. I havent cleaned the oven since these issues started -- Im afraid it will start a fire. I wasnt happy that LG never followed up on my complaints, either. I want to replace my refrigerator next -- you can bet it wont be an LG product. I am bitterly disappointed in this stove. I feel like Im stuck with it unless I just toss it to the curb. I could never sell it to anyone. Im calling again tomorrow and telling them I want it replaced, repaired or refunded -- I dont expect any satisfaction at all. I wish I had found this page before I bought LG products.

I purchased a fridge 12/19/16 from Home Depot with delivery for 1/5/16. Called customer service and could not be compensated nor will they make arrangements to schedule a quicker delivery (as 1/17/16 was next available). It was also very frustrating as my husband had taken a day off to attend to this and not only did he wait for nothing I waited over 40 minutes to get an answer. Im not sure what kind of business LG runs but one thing I do know is that I will never purchase a product from them again. My husband and I made the commitment to purchase an LG fridge for $2700. When we called to cancel the transaction due to poor customer service with LG and Sears via Consumer Reports Reviews, the salesman just said, Yes. I know. He was willing to make a poor sell for a few dollars more than to steer us in the direction of a better fridge and good experience that would resulted in us being repeat customers. We wish Montgomery Wards, where we purchased our last fridge, was still in business. ALSO, Standard TV and Appliance refused to meet or beat their competitors price even though they have a LARGE bill board right next to their entrance on Hall Blvd in Beaverton, Oregon. When we explained the problem with their integrity, false advertising, the store manager just made excuses. We made our final purchase at Lowes in Tigard and bought a Whirlpool.

My family member purchased this brand new refrigerator and in six months the ice machine was not working. We called LG for service and their diagnostic testing resolution was to not open the refrigerator door too often. We responded that opening the doors should not cause the ice machine to malfunction. We reset it; and eight months later the compressor goes. This thing is a lemon. What saved us from further expenses is the fact we had purchased the extended warranty. We did lose food and LG reimbursed us up to $300.00 for the loss. There is no way that a $4000.00 fridge should be breaking down this fast. We have had models costing far less (hundreds) that has lasted 15-20 years: the repair man stated these smart models will only be lasting 6-8 years. Ours hasnt lasted six months to just over a year. My advise, keep it simple, and avoid LG products. There was a local news story that LG contracts out the parts production to many different smaller companies all over the world, so they cant be blamed for their lemons. One must sue the parts company.

I wish I had read all the reports about the LG refrigerator, particularly the French door model with icemaker housed in the refrigerator door. We purchased this supposedly state of the art refrigerator in March, but recently attached the water supply hose for the water/ice dispenser. The water dispenser worked fine, but the icemaker did not. A call went out to the service department and a technician came to fix the problem yesterday. Well, he replaced the motherboard and a fan at the back of the freezer. A brand new refrigerator needs to have these items replaced already??? Long story short, this morning, we woke up to a mess in the refrigerator/freezer because everything had melted. Neither the refrigerator nor freezer is working. Of course, service is closed on the weekends. So now, I have a $3000 storage box sitting in my kitchen with a houseful of guests arriving in a few days. My concern is after reading about all these problems reported on this website, we will be faced with continuous problems in the future (especially after the product goes off warranty!!!). LG... Life Good?? In my opinion, I think not if you own one of their refrigerators. Sorry to say. I am hopeful that this problem will be resolved, but after reading post after post about these same issues, I am not holding my breath. :(

I purchased an 4.5 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Top Load Washer Featuring Powerful Stain Care Technology Model: WT4870CW in March 2014, in addition to the companion dryer. I purchased this product as reviews had been good, and the price was right. It has been the worst machine I have ever owned. In spite of trying various settings, and contacting the manufacturer, clothes just dont get clean, and even today, linens that I took out had more stains on them than when they went in. The clothes dont agitate, and even if you use a setting that adds more water, the clothes just dont move around. They come out in the same position as when you loaded the machine. Forget using a water-saving setting - the clothes are barely damp. The machine will go off balance if there is anything, even one item, that is of a different weight. It resets itself endlessly. I miss my old Maytag and cant wait for a reason to get rid of the LG Washer. The drier is also a problem, but I guess I can live with wrinkled clothes more than I can with dirty ones. Dont buy an LG.

Buyer beware! Rust develops in the top housing of LG washers, starting at the bleach dispenser. It does not matter if you use the dispenser or not, rust will eventually develop there, and elsewhere, on the top and lid of the machine. Eventually rust flakes will get in your wash leaving whites dingy. There is no fix for this problem. It is a result of poor craftsmanship. A class action lawsuit was filed and LG won claiming user problem. Odd how the regular use of their product would be a problem that causes rust. Do not take my word for it alone- search “LG washer rust” and read about loads of frustrated consumers with rust problems starting in the bleach dispenser area, in some cases rusting out altogether. Buyer beware!

The brand itself received a lot of good marks when my wife research it online before making the purchase. Customer service has been outstanding with this fridge. We made a great choice. Has ice maker with cubes or crushed ice. Everything fresh and cold, space for eggs and produce. Able to hold milk in the door. Doors fit salad dressing and the smaller bottle that need to be refrigerated. Freezer a little small seems like hard to put larger items in the freezer one or maybe 2 larger meat items. Small drawer can hold vegetables and popsicle ice cream bars but its a little small.

Linear Compressors - My LG LSXS26326 came with my home when I purchased it. The fridge is less than 5 years old. In the year Ive had it Ive noticed intermittent cooling/ice production issues. If the temp got above 77 degrees in my house, the fridge would struggle to make ice or keep food cool. Then, on Memorial Day weekend, with family visiting, it finally died. I have a homeowners warranty (fantastic investment) that covers all my appliances. Never had an issue on the couple of things Ive had to call them on. This fridge is an exception. After a TWO WEEK long rigamarole between them and LG to determine a) If the fridge was under warranty. (It wasnt. Im not the original purchaser, as I tried in vain to explain to all parties.) b) Who was going to pay for what (warranty company, all of it). The part is perpetually back ordered. There are so many of these compressors that are failing, they cannot make them fast enough to replace the failed units. Even the replacements are failing within a couple days/weeks/months/years depending on your luck. Today is June 22, and I am, just today, getting my fridge fixed. This process has been an absolute nightmare. And I have a future failure to look forward to. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope this one holds out until I get taxes back next year and can replace it with a functional fridge. I will NEVER, EVER, buy anything LG again in my life. And be CAREFUL. These same compressors are used in Kenmore Elite fridges as well!

I have a model number LFZ65960ST LG Refrigerator. I have not been very happy with this refrigerator since I purchased it. First of all, it dents and scratches very easily. Second, I received a notice a part needed replace for a recall due it causes the electric to increase. Lastly, this morning December 26, 2011, we woke up to make breakfast and discovered the eggs were warm. We looked up at the light in the top of the refrigerator and the light cover melted the sockets are black, and everything on the top shelf of the fridge was hot and starting to cook. It ruined all the food on the top shelf of the fridge. It melted the butter in the butter holder. We had to throw away probably $50 worth of groceries. My biggest concern is if we hadnt been home, my house could have caught on fire. We removed the light bulbs out of the light and the light cover is completely ruined, I cant even put it back on the lights it wont fit. We bought LG top load washer and front dryer as a pair; WT5170HV, 5-2012. The only problems weve had was the washer electronic control board shorted out & now weve noticed rust forming underneath the top rim of the washer. There is a notice about not splashing bleach when adding to the dispenser. We are careful, but apparently it splashes up on the bottom of the lid and around the dispenser when the machine is operating. This is a design flaw and needs to be corrected by LG. This will be the last time I buy LG products unless they show me that they will stand behind their products and fix the design flaws... So be careful when buying appliances and read consumer reports.

Based on my research, LG seemed to have the highest rating on all of their appliances and they last longer. They seemed to be the best product out there. It has been less than a year since I bought my refrigerator but I have another LG refrigerator. We just purchased the house, and it has one in it. The ice maker is not a very big one though and it just has a little door insert ice maker. So, it does not produce enough ice for us. The refrigerator is not but two years old and it broke. It took about five weeks before it was repaired. Then, my washer took three weeks to be repaired. The washing machine and the refrigerator are two items that you need immediately in a household. I was so dissatisfied. The parts had to be ordered but it’s not so much LG but the people that they use to repair their stuff. It’s something that they need to look into because when they have crappy service, then the product gets a crappy reputation.

I am enjoying my LG washer. Have had little problems with it. Only concern is hat there are not any repair companies local that deal with LG. The one time I did have to call for a problem, it was obvious that the person was reading from a script. They could not offer any help or answer my questions. I ended up finding an answer to my problem online.

On 10/12/2015 we purchased a 46 LG 30 CF 4 DR Refrigerator from Sears. It was delivered and set up around the 21st of the same month. Once set up we noticed scratches in both doors and a couple weeks later were replaced. Because we were having things completed in kitchen, it was unplugged and not used till the beginning of January 2016 at which point everything was fine with this $3000.00 plus refrigerator. On September 1st we got home from work and opened the refrigerator and noticed that everything in there was hot. So being a holiday weekend, we waited till Monday to call Sears where it was purchased to have a repair person come to fix it. A week later the man came and said it was the compressor and he would have to order the parts. Sounds good until we are told it would be close to three weeks to get the parts. OK so we wait the night before the repair man is to come we call and ask him if he received the compressor as we had not. He calls the parts place and they are having trouble finding the parts and it will be another 3 to 4 weeks to get the part in if they even come in. At this point we have been without a working refrigerator for 3 weeks and have been told it could be another month. So we were so mad that we called LG directly and explained what had happened and was told by a customer service rep if we got our receipt showing when we purchased it they would replace it. Ok on the phone for hours getting everything they need the next day we scan everything to them and are told it is our problem and they will not help us. That was a 1 year and 10 month old item. We explained that it was not used until 4 months after we purchased it. However they did not care. LG has the rudest people that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. We also went back to Sears and was told they could not help us either as they have to wait on the parts and they are not sure when they will get them. Ok so you go out and purchase an appliance and it is not to last over 1 year? This is crazy. All the reviews that I have read also say that it is the compressor that is the problem so at this point no one can help any of us with this problem. This does not seem too fair. Also, the stores that are selling the LG products knowing that there are all of these complaints and service calls for the same thing. How can companies still sell these items that only work for a year or two and then tell you you’re on your own. LG is not standing by their products and this is very sad that they are allow to get away with this. If this was a car dealer there would be recalls and the problem would be fixed for free, why is LG allow to get away with this and do this to honest working people. We are asking for help from LG and would appreciate hearing from someone who cares about Customer Service not selling poor products and then telling us they can’t help.

Has very clean lines with no brand on the visible front of the machine. When first purchased, the original dishwasher was faulty and would not work. We purchased through Best Buy who replaced the machine a week later and since then we have had no issues with it.

Ive had the LG fridge for 7 years since new. After 2 years we had to have a technician come out as the fridge section froze all the food. He couldnt get the part for over a week so he unscrewed the back from the inside of the freezer and poured 5 boiled kettles worth of water down the vents. That was to tie me over till the part arrived but it lasted 5 more years. It is doing it again, so for now I will buy a new fridge and use the LG as one hell of a big freezer.

I purchased a double oven in 2018 & within six months the numbers on all the knobs were coming off. Mind you, I paid over $1300 for this range. I requested replacement parts through filing a complaint with the BBB, because LG wanted me to buy the knobs, because the warranty had expired after emailing & talking with them on several occasions. First, they set the wrong color knobs, the second time they only sent two knobs, with one being damaged & the wrong style and the third time, all the knobs they sent were different & they only sent four. This is the worst company Ive ever had to deal with & the worst & cheapest made appliance Ive ever bought. Ive never had an oven where the numbers have came off the knobs. They are ripping off the consumers by producing these defective knobs & then trying to make you buy more & when you file a complaint, they give you the runaround & send you the wrong knobs, so they dont have to replace them for free. I have been going through this process for two months & still do not have the correct knobs on my oven. I spent over $5000 buying all new kitchen appliances and this is how they treat their customers. Its not like my appliances werent registered on their site, so they had the correct model & serial number. Buyers BEWARE when buying LG products. You will get the run around when trying to get the right parts & cheap production.

Bought an LG LFXS29766S in January 2015. Three weeks ago the temperature in both the refrigerator and freezer sections started going up. Called LG and was told that the ten year warranty on the linear compressor covered parts only and that if I used a non-certified repair service that they would have problems obtaining parts. Agreed to have LG service the refrigerator and they came out about four days later. Was told that the compressor had failed (big surprise, do you think). Compressor was not available so had to wait a week for part to arrive and have it installed. Two days later temperature started going up again and LG technician came back and fixed it again. Total cost $412. Crossing my fingers it holds up long enough to try to get rid of it.

Everything in its design is functional and the movable shelves are really nice as to cleaning I can remove the glass and clean any spills that occur. It has the spill proof shelves when there is a spill its so easy to clean up. Its quiet when running as we have an open concept room so that doesnt interfere. I love the bottom freezer and will always opt for that as there is so much storage and the convenience of two drawers to pull out what I need. I can also pull that out and clean when needed.

Washing Machine Model WT1101CW - There are several issues, the top being that the washer does a poor job of cleaning clothes. Ive had to soak white shirts in bleach to get out normal dirt. Ive had to wash clothes twice and three times to get them to even smell clean. I had a 20 year old Maytag prior to the LG and Im ready to get rid of this one after only having it 3 months. A second issue is that it leaves a full tray of water in the dispenser after the cycle is completed. I have to dump out the water every time. I called for service and they will not come out for that issue - stating that they only respond to technical issues and thats not technical. What??? Ive followed all of their instructions - and even called them 2 weeks after having the machine. No response from LG.

Within another month, a rotor went out, along with an outside basket. I was told that this would start at $500 parts and labor. My opinion at this point is until more money means a longer lasting machine. Buy something cheap and replace just as often. I will not buy another LG.

Cooks great! Seriously DANGEROUS knobs, huge FIRE HAZARD! Purchased Nov 26, 2017 delivered December 21, 2017. No problems with the cooking features as I love this stove for that purpose. However, I did not have any issues with the knobs turning on by just a brush or bump or even just standing close & assuming static causing the problem UNTIL LG sent a new control unit which is the entire front portion of the stove above the door due to the finish falling off in big chunks just by wiping with a damp rag! I wish I had just had my new stove painted stainless at a local paint shop as I did remove the knobs when not in use for fear my house will burn down until I noticed the stems cause the burners to turn on even more than with the knobs on so now I trip the breaker to the stove and NEVER leave my house or go to sleep with that breaker not in the OFF position.I realized the burners actually heated up when I sat my cold bag with a gallon of milk I had just purchased on the stove top. Turned to go get another bag from car & came back in to a smoke filled kitchen & a melted cold bag including the entire bottom of the plastic milk carton with boiling milk all over the stove & running down the front of the door! It took approx 25 secs to grab the bag & return to the kitchen but I had sat the bag on the ultra burner unfortunately! It works very well! Now if the control panel is barely touched by a mere piece of clothing the broil turns on HI and my oven is locked yet the door is not shut so it’s not useable but it still turns on! LG will not assist you other than advising you to have a repair person come check it out & at your expense since the warranty is out. I wish I could say buy this stove you will love it but the Fire issue is the only reason I cannot. I now cut my breaker off to my stove before leaving my house or going to sleep! Also, I cannot get an answer from LG, but my lockout feature only prevents the oven from being turned on, it does not lock the stove top controls! I paid a little over $1300 for this stove. I am going to try to find a fix, either knobs that lock or a person to rewire my control panel to prevent the fire hazard! I will post a solution if I am able to find one that is inexpensive!

Failed compressor on a 4 year old Kenmore Elite French door refrigerator. It was manufactured by LG and sold by Sears Canada. Of course I purchased the extended warranty which is now null and void after having been underwritten by now defunct Sears Canada. LG Canada basically told me to go ** myself. I am Horrified that I spent 4000$ on an LG refrigerator and LG won’t step up to make this right given the known issue of compressor failure. The repair bill is estimated to be 1000$, which I cannot afford. I’ve had to purchase an inexpensive used fridge and move a basically lightly used top of the line refrigerator to storage in hopes that LG may step up and do what is right. It is untenable that consumers are being exploited in this way and treated with such a lack of care or concern. I am thoroughly disappointed and will be pursuing every avenue to see my money returned. So far, LG has proven they are driven by profit - they are knowingly selling defective appliances to consumers. I recommend that folks avoid LG manufactured products and spend their money on appliances that are manufactured by reputable companies that will stand behind their product. Compressors should last 10-20 years. 4 years??! They are defective and LG needs to own their mistakes.

I think LG refrigerator owners who are experiencing repeated compressor problems should file a Class Action Lawsuit against LG for a full original purchase price refund and subsequent repair and warranty plan costs incurred for inferior product design and manufacture. Our LG French Door Refrigerator Model LMXX30776S/01 is also experiencing compressor failures. Purchased in February, 2015, the original compressor was replaced in September, 2016. Now, August, 2017 that compressor is also failing. Temperatures continue dropping in the refrigerator, freezer, and mid drawer sections even though I continue lowering the temperature set points. The ice maker is also producing small cubes at a very slow pace, and they begin melting and forming refrigerator icebergs. My wife purchased the Warrantech Extended Warranty through hhgregg. Recently Wil, the LG repair tech from Fredericksburg, VA, was at my home to service the unit. He measured temperatures, low and high side line pressures, and voltage. He cleaned some dust from the back of the refrigerator and left. He said he could not stay and further monitor the unit because it went into the defrost cycle. He told me to call him after a day or two to let him know if I was still having problems. I called and left a message on his phone. I have not received a return phone call. The temperatures continue to drop. Refrigerator performance continues to deteriorate, and $3,000.00+ has been wasted on a extremely poor product.

Burners go to highest setting, even when set to low heat on control panel. Worse than that, you can not turn the burner off with the controls. The only way to turn the burner off is to unplug range or flip circuit breaker. When circuit breaker flipped on, burner turns itself on at the highest level and you still can not turn it off. Very, very dangerous. LG recalled one model for this reason but other models, that have not been recalled, have this problem as well.

On the 4th day without a call back, I called LG again. They tried to set me up with the same people who have already refused to repair the washer. When I told them that they again told me I would be called back in 3 days, I told them that was not acceptable and to replace the washer. LG has refused to honor the warranty. I was remodeling my kitchen and bought a brand new range and an over the range microwave, delivered 12/2018, installed in Feb 2019 due to kitchen not being ready. When started using it I noticed some white spots or discoloration on the stainless steel front of the range. As the range worked fine I did not immediately call CS to see if anything can be done about this issue. Then the microwave stop working so I called CS and told them about both appliances and they scheduled a time to come out for the MW but told me they would be get back with me about the range which they never did after a week. When the guys came out to look at the MW I showed them the spots and they tried cleaning them as well. They said Id have to call back in as nothing was scheduled for the range just the MW. They even confirmed that the front face of the range could be replaced a simple fix. I called the next Monday to ask about this again and the first guy told me from what he could see, from a photo I had sent in the first time, it was nothing that can be done about it. So I ask why he thought that from looking at a photo, he said he would get me over to a supervisor. After being on hold for 20 minutes a guy got on the phone and told me that if I would have called as soon as I noticed the spots that they could have replaced it based on a defect but since I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. He said it might be a chemical reaction but I told him Ive only used what was recommended for me to use. I asked them if they could replace the front piece and he said no that because I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. Yes I waited until the MW stop working before I called because the range was working fine. I know that if CS wanted to help and replace one piece that they could have but they punished me for waiting, its not as if I was asking for a brand new range. Ive already have had a few people ask me what LG did about taking care of the range and now I can let them know and everyone know that they chose not to do anything because I was busy and didnt call right away. Do NOT buy a LG fridge nor use Southland Technical for after service. LG has their own service techs but they are not qualified to do compressor work. So they contract out. Last hot summer, I was given the run around by LG for over 2 weeks to get someone to come see my broken down $3,000 fridge. They keep telling me how busy they are and finally they gave me Southland’s phone number to call. Southland came out, and $1,000+ later, I get my new compressor. Almost exactly 105 days later, the compressor broke down again!!! The service guy who came out in January told me this is the SECOND incident in last 2 days he has seen!!! It took almost 2 months for Southland to get back to me to confirm indeed the compressor had broken down again and due to some BS story, the fridge can no longer be fixed and they will have LG call me. 2 weeks on, LG called to tell me I am SOL because LG did not initiate the call to Southland and therefore LG is not responsible. LG offered me a $100 credit for my next LG fridge, REALLY!! I am suspicious it was a collision between Southland and LG to get me to buy a new fridge. Really Southland, you took $1,000 of my money, replaced the compressor. (Assume they did or perhaps an after-market no name???) And to tell me 105 days is outside the 90 day warranty period. Hands up out there if anyone knows a compressor to last only 105 days. (Yes, days, not months!!) Needless to say, never use Southland and never buy any LG products... Look around, less and less dealers are selling LG, only Costco because they do not have a service department so LG is a convenient partner for a lousy brand!!

Consumers beware when purchasing an LG appliance! If you are remotely mechanically inclined and prefer to save money and repair things yourself, LG is not the manufacturer for you. A little over a year ago LG decided that they will not sell replacement parts to the general public forcing you to call an authorized service center to come to your house at your expense to repair your appliance no matter how small or simple a fix.Recently I needed to replace an $8 tumbler roller on our LG Tromm dryer that had worn and was making noise. It is about a 30 minute fix and requires a screwdriver and two wrenches. LG Canada nor any of its authorized service centers would sell me the part even though I had already removed it and was ready to install a new one. The parts are sold in the USA but every company that sells the part will not ship to Canada. My only options are to either bend to these unfair practices by LG or junk the dryer and buy a new one - albeit a different brand!

I will never...I repeat, NEVER buy any LG appliance again. The top-loading HE washer I bought 2 years ago (Model WT4870C) has been nothing but a disappointment. To call it a piece of junk would be an insult to junk. And LG customer service is terrible! Dont think you will get any sympathy or help from the company. Theyve got your money, and thats all they care about. Apparently, quality means nothing to them. First of all, the area around the bleach dispenser rusted. Do you want rust on your clothes? Me either. Thats why I called customer service. Instead of agreement that rust in a washing machine is not acceptable, I was told, If liquid gets on the metal, it can rust. Really? Then why does it say to put liquid bleach there (in the dispenser!) if no liquid is supposed to touch it? And besides, in their opinion, the rust is a cosmetic issue. When I complained that rust can ruin clothes, they told me that I could send them my damaged clothes, and they would review them, and possibly issue some compensation FOR THE CLOTHES! Now, only 2 years into owning this washer, it breaks! I cannot use it at all! It was running when suddenly a terrible noise was heard coming from it (not the normal terrible noises it usually makes), and the tub could not stop. Natural frictional force caused it to finally come to a stop. But now it cannot spin at all. Even though the washer displays proudly on the front a 10-year warranty, that only covers the motor. And guess what: You have to pay for a technician to come out to determine whether it is the motor or not. So you are out a service charge no matter what! (Oh, and even if it is the motor, you still have to pay labor charges out of pocket.) (FYI: The photo attached shows the dispenser after I removed the plastic surround.)

I purchased an LG dishwasher for my newly renovated kitchen, it was professional installed the first of May right before the final acceptance of the renovation. The plumbers tested the dishwasher and all appeared ok, I never had a chance to even use it once. On May 9th I walked into the kitchen to find three inches of water in the kitchen and dining/living rooms, with water pouring out from the dishwasher. It was inspected by the factory rep from LG that a clip on one end of water hose was missing and determined this was a factory defect. Since there was extensive damage to three Persian rugs floating in water, furniture and areas behind the newly installed cabinets I filed a claim with LG and after 4 months they still have not made a reasonable offer to reimburse me for the damages their defective product caused. Very very poor customer service. Will never purchase another LG product and would not recommend their products to anyone.

We bought a LG refrigerator, model LFX25974ST, on 3/11/2013. Stopped working 2 days ago. No refrig, no freezer, lost all frozen foods and almost all in fridge. Have extended 3 yr warranty, and they will supposedly come next week to evaluate the situation. Now, after reading all of the above, we are concerned we also have an unfixable problem. i.e. the compressor. We also will be required to pay the service fee, and heavens knows what else. Has anyone heard of what can be done, to make complaints known to any and all consumers of these poor products. It is so frustrating to try and talk to anyone!!!

We had a few problems with the LG fridge. It had a recall the first month we got it and then we kept having problems with the back of the freezer. It kept freezing so they had to come take it apart and defrost the back. We had it about 5 years and all the plastic parts were breaking.

We bought our French door refrigerator around December of 2018 when we purchased our new house. We have loved our unit until one day both of the coils for the fridge and freezer part went out. I placed a repair order in August of 2020. LG outsourced the repair work to a local repair shop which was fine. Here it is 10/25/2020 and we are still without a refrigerator. I have contacted LG and the repair company numerous times and nothing is being done about it. LG has basically washed their hands of the whole situation and put it on the backs of the repair company. I got tired of waiting for the refrigerator to be repaired because we have a large family (family of 8); I called LG back once more and requested LG to replace or refund the money from the initial purchase. Since then we are going on 2 weeks and I have still yet to hear from LG as to what the decision is on replacing it or refunding the money. We was happy with the unit while it was working but since then it has been a complete nightmare and I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT AGAIN IN MY LIFE because of this incident. I hope my review helps clear the air up for anyone thinking about making a purchase of a LG product.
