It has new technology than my previous fridge. I also enjoy the experience that I have gotten out of it thus far which is honestly the best experience I would say I have ever had with LG appliances. I really enjoy the purification of the water because I live in the country off well water and it seems to help lessen the taste which I really enjoy with this new LG fridge. I like the app that is available as well as how durable the fridge is, I greatly appreciate it.

Our washer (LGWM2301H) was purchased 3.5 years ago. Recently, it developed a grinding sound that was amplified when spinning. A repairman charged me $80 to tell me that the bearings were going and, OF COURSE, that particular problem was not covered under the warranty (whatever the hell is), and that the repair would cost more than $500.My husband and I are both a little shy of 70 years young and do just a few loads a week. Also, we have used numerous AMERICAN-made washers in our lives that never broke down but just were replaced due to age. This expensive LG was a treat for my retirement; my husband wanted me to have the BEST. Well, as it turned out, we bought the BEST of the Asian junk market or wherever this jewel was conceived - LG has taken care not to provide that information. It has been hauled away today and been replaced by an ALL AMERICAN-MADE MAYTAG top loader. The downside of this is that LG screwed us out of $800. (I could have had my laundry sent out for that amount.) But the upside is that, hopefully, LG will continue to put out junk and screw itself out of the market with the rest of the junk producers. It is refreshing to know that the MAYTAG IS ONCE AGAIN COMPLETELY MADE IN AMERICA, BY AMERICANS - WITH COPPER WIRING AND NO ALUMINUM JUNK . Go for it, LG. I can only hope that you will continue digging your own grave.

We bought an LG French door refrigerator 3 years ago and it has already broken. It is no longer covered under warranty. We called three appliance repair companies in our area and all of them said that they won’t service LG refrigerators. We called LG and they sent someone out who said it needs a new compressor which will cost $1600. Based on other reviews, this seems to be a common problem with LG fridges. After only 3 years, our choices are to pay $1600 to fix it or buy a new fridge.

LG French refrigerator is only 4 years old and it just stopped cooling, causing all of the food to spoil. Customer service is a complete joke. LG over the stove microwave caught fire while not even in use. Flames coming out of vents across the top of unit. l have reached out to LG numerous times. Spoke to liability agent once and was virtually dismissed because I had hired a claims adjuster which had zero to do with LG. All I wanted from LG was my homeowners insurance deductible. Now that my ins. claim is settled, I have called LG, was given liability agent Tim **s direct line by a supervisor. I have left him two messages; but he has not returned my calls. I will update this review soon.

Original manual says, Do not wash or spin water proof clothes. Literature Update: Do not wash or spin any item labeled or known to be water-proof or water-resistant, even if the product care label on the item permits machine washing. Failure to follow these instructions could result in bodily injury, severe damage to your laundry, your washer and/or property damage as a result of abnormal vibration of the washer. Examples of water-proof or water-resistant items include certain mattress pads, mattress covers, rain gear, camping gear, skiing apparel, outdoor gear and similar items.I contacted LG and they informed me that it is all legal and there is nothing they are going to do to help me wash my water resistant clothing. Of course, this is after speaking with several reps and getting the runaround, playing stupid, not understanding that water proof and water resistant are different, and outright telling me that this is all in the original manual. I had to email a copy of the page in question for LG rep to tell me that yes, they have changed specs on the washer but they are legally allowed to change it and there is nothing I can do about it. Specs are supposedly listed and changed on LG website and it is all legal to change it after sale of a product. I have read the whole manual and LG rep has pointed me to the exact page they claimed at first this information was to be found.

Bought a LG Top Freezer. Very disappointed in it. Every time you open and close frig door, the freezer door seal is broken and air gets in. This causes my meats to get ice formed on them. Had service come out and told us that this is normal. I never had a top freezer before that opens when I close the frig door. They dont tell you this when buying it. Also found the same info about freezer door opening in their manual. So if they know about it, why not fix the problem. Also told new frig will probably only last 5-6 years. Thanks LG. Never again will I buy or recommend LG to family or friends.

I bought my brand new LG fridge in 2008 because it had a lot of room inside. After a couple of months, Ive been having problems since; there were issues after issues. First, it was the ice maker that I needed fixed then it was the fuse. After that, it was the French doors that rubbed against each other so I couldnt close it. Then it was the side vent inside the fridge. Now, its my compressor thats not working; that’s what the service guy told me yesterday. Its on but it’s just blowing hot air inside the fridge and freezer. An LG fridge is not cheap to buy, but it is cheaply made! This LG fridge has caused me so much down time and headache from the day I bought it!

My LG Refrigerator, which is 3 1/2 years old, stopped working and freezer contents melted onto hardwood floor causing damage. Called a local technician who advised I needed to call LG but also advised the problem was with the compressor, a known and continuing problem with LG. Contacted LG, they sent repairman who fixed it. It is now WARM on the inside and I am afraid it is a fire hazard. Have contacted LG through proper procedure TWICE MORE but they are completely ignoring me. How do I get added to the class action lawsuit? I regret purchasing this appliance.

LG Dishwasher LDS4821 - We purchased our LG dishwasher in mid 2012. Our first bad experience was with the installation, as the legs supporting this monster are made of plastic and the installers completely broke the frame. (I found out when it starting tilting and had to call Home Depot, who replaced the dishwasher). These dishwashers are so flimsy, they never sit correctly between the cabinets and require occasional adjustments to keep the door from scraping the sides of the cabinets. The next problem was a strange scraping noise that would occur during the wash cycle... Turned out to be the pump, which was also leaking, which rusted out the motor. Our repair guy replaced both. The next repair was with the bottom door seal, which was leaking water. Within months after the stated repairs, the HE heating element light started flashing and the dishwasher wouldnt complete the cycle. Once again, our repair guy came out, tested the heating element (which was working) and determined that the control panel was malfunctioning and needed replacement. Now on to the minor issues: detergent door may or may not open during the wash cycle, bottom rack has a tendency to stick and requires being lifted and re-seated, dishwasher may or may not do a good job washing the dishes (depending on its mood that day). At the time of purchase, we were remodeling and bought all LG appliances. After the above experiences, I will never buy their appliances again.

We bought model LFX31925SB/00 in 2012. Within a few weeks it started making loud sounds and by the second month, it died the first time. LG sent a repair guy and he reset it and it was fine. After about four week, it died again. This time he came back and had to replace the motherboard. I had made a couple weeks worth of meals, because I was having a baby. We came home from the hospital and the refrigerator was dead and the kitchen was FLOODED!! We lost all of our food AND had a damaged floor. I had to deal with the LG customer service, which was a waste of time. They did absolutely nothing. Then I had to call hhgregg and deal with their customer service. Im not sure which one is worse. We ended up getting a repair man ourselves, who had to replace the motherboard three times. What we thought was a good investment has ended up costing us probably five times more than what we spent buying it, counting what we lost when it died. We wouldve been better off buying the most expensive, top of the line refrigerators out there. At least then we would have something that would be worth the money we spent.

My experience with LG has not been great considering that it took a month to get my French-door refrigerator fixed this summer. I got this unit because I liked the design. Its compressor went out and I called the warranty company Asurion and they kept telling me that it had to be LG alone to fix it. It took two weeks to finally get somebody to get here. The first person who came out was here for four and a half hours and he did things incorrectly. The first compressor that they put in ended up being broken itself too. So then, they had to order a whole another compressor and dryer again. Then, even though it was delivered to my house within five days, it was two weeks before I got the second technician to come and fix what the first tech did. So, not very happy at all. The techs were friendly and courteous, though. Also, whenever I called LG a couple of weeks ago when the unit was acting up, they got on it very quickly and was able to call a different company to come and work on it. So, I was happy with that. Still, since the repair the refrigerator has been off and on. I have to keep hitting my breaker and resetting my refrigerator from time to time. The panel board will lock up for no reason at all. We dont know why it does that. Also, the ice maker will stop working for a couple of days at a time and it makes noises. Then it will fix itself and go back to working. I wont buy another one.

Kenmore and LG refrigerator have known compressors that fail way before the life of these appliances. I know because mine failed today. I talked to LG and Sears/Kenmore and neither cared. They each blamed the other. My refrigerator is only four years old and I paid over $3,000 for it. I know I am not alone. There is a class action lawsuit against LG for this same problem. Immediately I requested the repairing manager to provide a staff for its original repacking after which the same was delivered to authorized service center, viz. M/s S.R.Service Plot no 2.Raghunath **, Mahmoorganj, Varanasi, Uttar-Pradesh (INDIA) for replacement, but still after nearly two years, I have not received the replacement nor have my requests made by personal visit to your office been attended. Now, online complaints are also being directed to Branch Manager, Varanasi. On contacting her on mobile she had assured to revert yesterday but on several calls today, it was revealed that still they are checking their records. As a customer, I now request you to refund my money with interest and also compensate for the mental agony faced by me till date. Please, HELP ME GOD.

My mother who lives in LA got a high tech LG fridge about 4 years ago which 2 months ago its compressor stopped operating and from that time she has made 6 different appointments with LG customers service to fix it! Every time they go and have look at the fridge and they say well, its the compressor and we dont have it with us!!! Thats all they do. Then my mom has to call them again and book another appointment which usually takes 2 weeks for them to appear, and the same story goes on! Its such a shame that the summer is going to finish and my mom couldnt use her fridge for 2 months. I wonder if LGs customer service has any ideas about living without a fridge in the summer time at all??? Its while my mom paid about $4000 for an useless huge box to sit in her kitchen! Thats not acceptable, frustrating and were not only gonna stop buying LG products, but also well get a lawyer to fix this problem ASAP!!!!

2017 FH4U2VCN Front load washing machine - Quite the most unreliable machine I have purchased in 60 years. Constantly stops at the rinse/spin stage with uneven load flagged. After 6 months of this I had LG engineer call and make the usual excuses too much load, too little load, wrong type of mix. What a load of tosh. To placate me he replaced the motor and housing to what seems no improvement whatsoever. It is now 12 months old and unless it is fixed once and for all it will go back to Currys and legal action will follow. The machine fails to complete on average three out of every five washes. At this point Currys is not in the picture as servicing has to go through LGs totally abysmal website where they cant even manage to email you that your complaint has been received - just warning you only to sent report once! What the blazes is that about?

All in all it has definitely has the qualities I want I just dont want to replace it with so much money again. LG has definitely met my initial expectations. It is a very good fridge overall and has all the qualities you need in a fridge but it needs to be made more durable and easier to fix when things break. Cause my ice machine doesnt work. I would have made it easier to clean, more user friendly, make it less loud when it beeps when you leave the door open. Also, the handle to the freezer broke, so I would made that more durable.

Ive had numerous problems with my LG Washer TROMM WM2688. There is bellows hose underneath the tub that gets a hole in it and leaks every few months. It takes about an hour and a half to fix it. I’m on my 5th bellows hose now. It just went out again. Ive also had the water fill valve get stuck on and stay on. I had to replace it. It also has a problem with draining the water from the tub. I get an error saying water is not draining. You hit restart from the pause and it will continue. It could be the pump out, the sensor out, or the control board out. Not sure yet. If I couldn’t work on it myself, I would have spent enough on service to buy a new one. It wouldn’t be an LG. I’ll buy no LG products.

Here is what I did about my problem. I went to Home Depot and bought what is called a Mini-Rester - $10.83 - one each for hot and cold. This is a device that attaches between your water lines and the washer. It has a tube with air in it. When the water shuts off abruptly the air in the tube takes the shock and drastically reduces the water hammer. If you have high water pressure as I do you will need these. You may have to adjust the water down some through the knob on the wall for both hot and cold but eventually you can find a happy medium.

A service request was logged thru a Dealer in Kerala and the Mechanic attended the case promptly. I spoke to the local service manager and he confirmed that warranty could not be given for the machines purchased outside India. However, asked him to order the part but, he could not get “any response from LG for the last two months. As the machine stopped working I contacted the local Distributor in Dubai last week but, they also did not keep stock. Buyer Beware: We purchased an LG over the stove 2.0 Microwave middle of Nov 2019. After installation I turned the surface light of the microwave on. When I went back to put a dish in the microwave I found it to be extremely hot inside. We had not used the microwave nor the stove below to generate such heat. We turned off the surface light & checked the interior of the microwave it had cooled down. We then put a thermometer inside the microwave & turned the surface light back on to check if the light itself created the heat. In less than 1/2 hr the interior of the microwave heated to 117 F degrees. When we turned off the light the microwave was cool. We then called LG to alert them to our experience. The rep first hinted that it could be an electrical problem with our home. I explained our kitchen had been recently updated including all the electrical which was inspected by our local county inspector. They then sent a service tech out to examine the microwave. LG technical support told the service tech not to touch the microwave. They issued us a Claim number & an internal Bulletin about the problem. The tech told us we had to replace the light bulb ourselves despite it being new & under warranty. My husband is an electrician as well his friend who is a master electrician. They both researched the model. LG changed from the earlier model a 30 WATT incandescent light bulb to a 50 WATT Halogen light bulb in the same lighting compartment & model. The hole for the 30 WATT incandescent light bulb is still in the compartment & next to it is the newly added 50 WATT Halogen light bulb. IT sits just below the microwave box with absolutely NO VENTILATION. We were advised to notify our States Attorneys Office as well the BBB. We alerted the store we purchased it from to check the models they have on the floor & beware of the problem. Had we just turned on the surface light & left our home I cant imagine the outcome. If youre seeking to purchase a new LG microwave first check what type of surface light bulb the microwave is equipped with before you purchase it. LG obviously has no solution or will back their warranty on a less than one month old microwave.

I recently purchased over 10k in appliances from Home Depot and the Studio line of LG ranges is an engineering nightmare. As others have expressed on their reviews, this range (LG Studio 6.3) presents a very risky and dangerous fire hazard. We did a complete remodel on a new beach house and used all studio LG products, we do not even as yet occupy the house and have never cooked on the stove, nonetheless, mere bumping of the knobs will cause them to turn on unbeknownst to the passerby... Our new 150k custom kitchen would have been set alight if my husband had not smelled the smoke from another room. This has already happened 3 times in the month the range has been installed with no one actually occupying the residence! In disbelieve I did a google search and lo and behold this seems to be a common denominator for all LG range owners. I have contacted Home Depot and LG (Blah blah... We will send a tech. Lol.) however my brother who is a NASA engineer had a look and determined it is an engineering design flaw. It appears LG is closing this model out however if they had any credibility they will recall this immediately before there is serious injury or death... If there has not been already. I am speaking with a law firm next week about a possible class action suit and will post on this site with any information. If you are considering this product, you should do this with the utmost caution, it is a dangerous design.

I have bought the fridge from Vijay Sales, Pune on 08/08/2014. Since the day of purchase there has been ice crystals formation inside, in the rear wall of the fridge. We have made innumerable complaints at least not less than 4 times. Each time the engineer gives some excuse sets a higher temperature on the fridge and goes way. Unfortunately I have not been at home and my wife gets conned. Now the vegetables have started rotting within 2 to 3 days which is abnormal. The latest complaint no is **. The eng came this time, examine the fridge, increased the temperature to 6 deg Celsius, said that he needed to change the sensor and that was the end of this. As far as I know e. coli starts forming in food articles after 4 deg Celsius. It is extremely distressful to see that an MNC like LG performs like this. I have had innumerable products from LG but this time poor service has crossed the limits. Nothing can change in India. Consumers are helpless. The latest in Maharashtra you have to file complaints in consumer forum in Maharashtrian language. So much for India is for Indians. Better to stay where you were born.

I bought LG 26Cuft Wifi French Door refrigerator (model LFXS26973D/01; SN 909KRAT00680) from Costco on Nov 12, 2019. It was 2-year warranty. Unfortunately, I am only 2 months late and both Costco and LG washed their hands from any manufacturing defect. The water filter that needs to be changed every 6-month does not work anymore even with LG brand filters LT1000 or LT1000P/PC/PCS (ADQ747935). I bought a new LG filter head (AKN729490003) and even it does not work. Calling Costco and LG has no help because only 2 months more than 2-year warranty. I tried a professional appliance for help, even they could not help. I am sure it is manufacturing defect and there is no recall. This means I have to trash this LG refrigerator just in 2-year. I would not recommend anyone to buy LG refrigerator and get frustrated like me.

I purchased a WT5070CW a year ago. This has to be the worst washing machine I have EVER owned. Every load gets off balance. When it gets unbalanced the machine stops. When you adjust the clothes and restart it will get off balance again. It has taken me a full day to wash one load of clothes. Today it took three hours to do one load. If you have a small load (a couple of towels) it takes six or seven tries to get the load done. I dont think it is possible to keep this machine balanced. I paid a lot more for this machine than I planned on spending and am VERY disappointed. I have found several other complaints about the same machine and the same problem. I think this model should be recalled.

I have an LG fridge model LTC223505ST that has been a problem since the year after I bought it. I have had LG repairmen come out 4 times, twice in the last two months and there is still ice build up under the crisper and in the freezer. My husband slipped and almost fell in the kitchen because water had leaked from the fridge all over the floor. Ive told customer service that I have a lemon but they dont seem to care. And I hear that LG doesnt like to replace their models that dont work. They are the worst appliance company and I will never buy another LG. Customers matter, too bad they dont know it.

I have an LG microwave that I bought in 2013 at Sears. Yesterday I was using the timer when I heard it turn on. I tried turning it off but nothing worked until I unplugged it. The unit was hot to the touch. If I had not been home when this happened Im sure it would have started a fire. The other thing that scared me was I was able to open the door while the unit was running which left a funny taste in my mouth for a few hours. Im not sure I have a receipt but if I can find one how would I submit it?

I do love the French door refrigerator with the exterior water and ice dispenser. I did have difficulty with the exterior coating (called black stainless steel, which it is not) chipping off and had to fight tooth and nail to get anything done because they called it a cosmetic issue. I was not. It kept flaking. It was a defect in the coating. The refrigerator itself has been easy to clean, has multiple shelf options, and I love the wide drawer at the bottom. The freezer also has a top drawer to keep all those smaller things that can get lost in the bottom of a freezer. Also space enough for me to separate my meat from everything else, so I can see quickly what I need to replenish. The ice maker is great! Options to make extra if youre having guests is a great feature and you can switch from cube to crushed.

I recently bought LG WD1275QDT, found disappointing not unto expectation for the price range. Not recommended (but company suggests) for liquid detergent use if you use pre-wash, Main-wash detergent will leach into pre-wash and left nothing for main wash (Media has better design for dual use). If you open detergent tray risk softener leaching into wash (bad design). Rinse and wash water inlet is same. Expect more soap may leak every time. Also pipe is corrugated may hold detergent. Takes long time to wash. 2-3 hr is most common option (I found time being wasted between cycles, NOTHING is optimized may be company wanted to use all possible rotations of inverter control). Load sensor will NOT help to optimize/help select correct detergent according to load because 1. Reading not indicated 2. You have to put detergent before start (waste of technology). If paused door opens after 2 mins and machine switches off after next 2 min (very bad). Sometimes door doesnt open even after pause or power off??? If you pause 2 times machine switches off, have to start over again (Software bug?). Machine has option like selecting pre-wash, spin, temp crease care, intensive but they have to be selected before, change of mind. No way.

I spent over $11,000 on my kitchen and laundry product from LG. Overpriced and not worth the money. The customer service is just as bad as their products. Ive had to call numerous times for the dryer and refrigerator. The dryer does not completely dry your clothes because the sensor thinks the clothes are dry and shuts off the dryer and the timer hasnt worked for months. My refrigerator does not stay cold the temperature is currently 76° in my refrigerator. Ive had my products for 3 years and its been a nightmare. To get a service repairman to come out is literally impossible. Please take my advice and do not purchase LG products.

Heard good things about it from sales, however once I bought it and actually used it, I realize that the cost of this item was much higher than others and I could have been happier with a less expensive model. But I like the side by side which was easier to get what I needed, like the choice of colors offered too. I chose black. Not too much more I liked, the shelves were arranged with adequate space for big items like milk and juice. The freezer space is too small in width and limited in space for large items, the ice dispenser should have choice on type of ice and ice maker freezes too fast. Hard to find filters for it, ice maker broke and couldnt get a replacement. Will not buy again.

BAD WASHER. I had a Frigidaire washer that lasted 15 years without a problem. Then, I purchased the LG top load washing machine. It constantly goes UE (uneven). I have to monitor it, or it refills and waste gallons of water trying to fix the UE . It loses its mind and sets more time, usually 11 minutes, and then it would refill with water again and again. Clothes never spun out completely. I can say this is the worse machine I have ever owned. It goes out of balance so many times during the wash cycle that it takes hours to wash a load. It keeps filling with water trying to rebalance itself, and I ultimately end up stopping it with the clothes still wet because it will not spin them out. LG told me I have to have repair people out 3 times for same issue before they consider replacing it. Still waiting for an “out of stock part”… three weeks. This is unacceptable! I have already told people that I will never buy an LG product.

My girlfriend redid her kitchen 2 years ago. She bought LG fridge and LG gas stove last year. We smelt gas after turning off the stove top then notice it was still on. The plastic on the back side of the knob had cracked so it wouldnt turn the gas all the way off even though it showed it should be off. She called customer service and made her pay for a brand new knob. The stove at the time was just over a year old. Now another knob is cracked so she will have to buy another knob. They are not cheap and this is a major safety hazard esp. if you have kids and youre not home. There should be a recall on these knobs and shouldnt cost the consumer to fix the defect in the manufacturing problem!!!!

I also had a LG refrigerator that only lasted 5 years. Terrible products. So I saw the Magnetron has a 10 year warranty so I called and they told me on the phone, it would cost me 125.00 right there for the service call and the technician would come out and replace the Magnetron and if it was over 30 min I would pay 35. Extra. When the guy came he looked at the microwave and said, It is the Magnetron and I ordered it but it did not come yet, and you owe me 35.00. I will be back in two weeks with the part.I am furious. I asked him what that 35.00 was for and why did he come out without the part and he said, I charge 160, so are suppose to pay me 35.00 no matter what. 1. Why did he come here without the part? 2. This is not what they told me on the phone. 3. I called them to complain and they said exactly the same thing to me and then when I asked for a manager, the CS person said, we have to review your call and you have to pay him for ordering the part, and then he said you have to pay him for extra time and then he said something else. When I pointed out all the various things he said, he said, We have to say these things. He refused to put me through to a manager. He said, We will call you tomorrow and review your call. Which is nuts since he said the exact same thing to me and the service guy said something different. Also the CS rep said, Well 70-80% of the time the service tech brings the Magnetron. So I pay extra time because I am in the 20%. Also NO ONE SAID I needed to pay another 35.00 when he came. They said, If he goes over 30 minutes. So, so wrong.

First LG purchase was in Nov. 2009 with a convection oven/stove and dishwas
First LG purchase was in Nov. 2009 with a convection oven/stove and dishwasher. Bought them at hhgregg and purchased the extended warranty. Moved out of that home in May 2010 and left the appliances there as I had planned on renting out that home. The end of May (for my new place) I purchased an LG front loader washer and dryer (Home Depot with extended 5 yr warranty) because it seemed like LG was a good brand from all the reviews I had read. Got renters in the next month for my old house and they were in there about a year. We left the house empty with someone checking on it every couple days for a year and a half. We moved back in Dec. 2012. We moved out again in March of 2014 to a larger home but took the stove with us. The dishwasher started having issues in July of 2014 for our new tenants. Our extended warranty covered it and the repairs ended up costing more than it was to buy a new one so it was completely replaced by the warranty. All in all, the dishwasher was used for about 3 of those 5 years before needing replacement. In December 2014 my dryer wont power on at all and I have to call Home Depot for the repair. They tell me its the motherboard and it gets replaced. This ends up being about a $200+ repair covered by the warranty. That same month, my LG oven wont heat up. The display says its 350 but I can easily touch the racks, and food is not cooking. My stove is no longer under warranty so the expense is on me. I call a repair guy out who tells me its one of the heating elements. $125 later everything seemed fine until 8 months later when now my washing machine wont drain and my stove has another issue. Neither are under warranty. The washing machine needs a new pump at about $200. My stoves motherboard gets replaced at about $200. Fast forward to April 2016. Stove not heating up again. Had appliance guy out who tried telling me we dont have enough electricity coming into our house after charging me $200 for some electrical part he said was bad and it didnt solve the problem. I called electric company who checked everything and house had plenty of juice. Got part of my money back from the appliance guy since he misdiagnosed the stove and cost me more money. Husband replaced the second heating element (theres two in this particular model) and everything seemed fine until August of this year. Washing machine is giving pump failure message again, dryers display is not working right (cant see how many minutes left -- digital display unreadable), and the stove went out again. Stove was approx 5 years old before we started replacing part after part. Washer and dryer were 5 years old before we started having issues. I have an LG fridge and dishwasher (purchased Dec. 2014), but I think these will be my last appliance purchases from LG. 3 appliances getting replaced is ridiculous in one month. Quality is just not important anymore to these companies. I dont expect them to last forever, but 7-8 years would have been nice. Will not purchase another LG appliance.

Very disappointed. If you have an LG refrigerator that has lasted more than three years without failure, consider yourself extremely lucky. LG, please do not respond to this with the canned phrase Thank you for notifying LG of the experience you have encountered thus far. This is not indicative of how we want our valued customers to feel. We’ll be happy to look into this and answer any questions that you have. Please send a private message so that we can assist you. We bought lg model lfx31925st/00 side by side refrigerator for over $2000. From day one ice maker leaked water to floor, ice froze together as a chunk, or didnt work. LG has had repairman out 3 times, and totally replaced ice maker unit, had repairman check water lines, and overall refrigerator condition. I have also paid and had same company out to replace ice maker. Its a defect in the model, we got a recall card months ago, but heard nothing else. Recently new situation, (now out of warranty) glass shelf over drawers, literally blew apart in a million pieces. Well we must have called them a hundred times by now. Now that its out of warranty, they tell us to go online and buy items. They are not going to help us. With all the LG refrigerator issues, any knowledge of this recall? Any suggestions?

On September 24, 2007 I purchased an LG refrigerator (model # LRSC26923TT), dishwasher and microwave at Gabowitz Appliances, East Brunswick, New Jersey. At that time I purchased an extended warranty for the refrigerator. The refrigerator needed to have the icemaker replaced within the year. The repairman told me it was a defective part and since then, it has had to be replaced four times for the same reason. The icemaker melts and becomes deformed. LG keeps replacing the defective part with another defective part as they have not fixed the defect. My extended warranty expires in September, 2012 and from hereon in, I will have to pay approximately $350.00--the price the repairman said it will cost--when it again needs a repair since it was again replaced with a part that is the same as the defective part (as per the repairman). When I wrote to LG they just answered that it is out of the manufacturer’s warranty and they have no obligations.

The control panel cracked right through the power button within 2 months of it being brand new. Every time you close the door to start a cycle, it flashes its lights and then shuts off. Ive learned to shimmy the door side to side just right before closing it in order to get the cycle to start otherwise it just beeps at you and then shuts off. If it does start the cycle, it only actually finishes it about 50% of the time. You have to clean the trap every single wash - it seems like the screen is too fine and it catches so much itty bitty debris that it clogs it completely. I cant say how much I truly hate this dishwasher! I paid for 3 year warranty and am so annoyed that I have to use it so soon. Cmon LG you bloody crooks make a product that works.

We bought LG top load washer and front dryer as a pair; WT5170HV, 5-2012. The only problems weve had was the washer electronic control board shorted out & now weve noticed rust forming underneath the top rim of the washer. There is a notice about not splashing bleach when adding to the dispenser. We are careful, but apparently it splashes up on the bottom of the lid and around the dispenser when the machine is operating. This is a design flaw and needs to be corrected by LG. This will be the last time I buy LG products unless they show me that they will stand behind their products and fix the design flaws... So be careful when buying appliances and read consumer reports.

Four years ago we purchased LGs glass top range for $899. Its now 2015 and the largest burner element is already dead. For that amount of money this thing should last at least 10 years or more. They sure dont make things like they used to! Repair of the burner is within the measly five-year warranty (this should have been my red flag before buying), but honestly who wants to go through the hassle? Well probably have better luck fixing it ourselves than dealing with an inept service rep. I realize theyre not the same but my mother-in-law also had issues with her LG television that she owned for only a couple of years. I think LG should stick with cellphones and leave the appliances and electronics to a more capable company.

I bought an LG washing machine model WFT6500 at Courts (Mauritius) Ltd. in November 2009. Serial No. is 908.JWWZ00529. Never once washed clean and so wearily I almost never made use of it during the warranty period, thinking that it must be a machine with very low power and it is normal to wash dirty. However, after the warranty period, I contacted the seller who wanted to send someone to check but for a fee. I refused because they did not think it was a technical problem. And so I blamed myself and nursed my woes stupidly until last month when I realized that the problem comes from the rinse cycle which is not functioning properly. It only spins the clothes but does not throw the water away nor does it do another rinse. The rinse cycle lasts only a few minutes with no additional water coming in or going out until the spin cycle that finally for the first time during the wash and rinse cycle drains the water away, leaving residues of dust in the clothes.I contacted the dealer once more, insisted that it is a defect that has been there since the first wash but they want to repair for a fee. I find this unfair because the machine has never been up to expectations and in spite of being in my possession for four years, I must have used it a dozen times only and not at all for two years at a stretch during that period because of being away from home. I guess it could be a defective machine that has been sold to our Mauritian distributor with or without their knowledge.

Purchased product for new home in early 2015. Two and a half years later, (before the fourth of July holiday), it died. Stopped cooling. Waited for several days, since repairman came to our area once a week. But that was just the service call. After close to $1,000.00 in labor, service call and tax, one week later the repairs were made. Refrigerator worked until lo and behold two years later almost to the day, the same issues occurred. JUNE 13, 2019 to be exact. This was a Wednesday and of course the day service is available in our area is Tuesday, we waited a week for the service call and a second week for repair. Compressor and several other parts replaced again. As the repairman was getting ready to leave, the fridge DIED. He stated he knew something was really wrong with our unit and claimed it unrepairable.Enter LG. No you need to replace the heat exchanger. It is now over two weeks since this repair and still no fix for refrigerator and it is Wednesday so you can bet no resolution until AT LEAST next Tuesday if at all. Mind you we are under warranty for parts and labor which we should have been two years ago also. We will never and will advertise to all the new builds on our community website to stay away from LG Refrigerators. Spent over 2 hours on the phone with LG service and no help whatsoever. Cooks great! Seriously DANGEROUS knobs, huge FIRE HAZARD! Purchased Nov 26, 2017 delivered December 21, 2017. No problems with the cooking features as I love this stove for that purpose. However, I did not have any issues with the knobs turning on by just a brush or bump or even just standing close & assuming static causing the problem UNTIL LG sent a new control unit which is the entire front portion of the stove above the door due to the finish falling off in big chunks just by wiping with a damp rag! I wish I had just had my new stove painted stainless at a local paint shop as I did remove the knobs when not in use for fear my house will burn down until I noticed the stems cause the burners to turn on even more than with the knobs on so now I trip the breaker to the stove and NEVER leave my house or go to sleep with that breaker not in the OFF position.I realized the burners actually heated up when I sat my cold bag with a gallon of milk I had just purchased on the stove top. Turned to go get another bag from car & came back in to a smoke filled kitchen & a melted cold bag including the entire bottom of the plastic milk carton with boiling milk all over the stove & running down the front of the door! It took approx 25 secs to grab the bag & return to the kitchen but I had sat the bag on the ultra burner unfortunately! It works very well! Now if the control panel is barely touched by a mere piece of clothing the broil turns on HI and my oven is locked yet the door is not shut so it’s not useable but it still turns on! LG will not assist you other than advising you to have a repair person come check it out & at your expense since the warranty is out. I wish I could say buy this stove you will love it but the Fire issue is the only reason I cannot. I now cut my breaker off to my stove before leaving my house or going to sleep! Also, I cannot get an answer from LG, but my lockout feature only prevents the oven from being turned on, it does not lock the stove top controls! I paid a little over $1300 for this stove. I am going to try to find a fix, either knobs that lock or a person to rewire my control panel to prevent the fire hazard! I will post a solution if I am able to find one that is inexpensive!

It was the highest rated fridge in my price range at the time. It was also the only floor model that fit my spacial needs as well as practicality. The sales person highly recommended it and I quickly found out why. I like the ice maker. It kept temperature well, and had an amazing seal. The inside door shelf designs were amazing. The air circulation inside the refrigerator was optimal, and the freezer froze things solid in more than adequate time. The color options were limited in my area, so I opted for the white one. When my kids got the fridge dirty, some of the paint came off upon washing it.

My LG has been very reliable for 9 years. I love having the freezer at the bottom with the double refrigerator doors at the top. The ONLY design feature I don’t like at all is the temp controlled drawer that goes across the full width of the refrigerator. In order to use that drawer you have to open both doors. Would much prefer 2 smaller drawers accessible individually from each side.

What a horrible product! The oven is completely uneven, the warming drawer doesnt warm and worst of all, the core inside the knobs keep breaking. They are made of a very poor plastic and now I find out they are 69.00 US a pop!! (I am Canadian so right now 100.00 x 5 knobs.) Cheaper to buy a new stove!!! I have asked just for the cores, but of course, they only sell the knob and thus I throw more LG crap into landfill. I have tried to talk to management but all I get is the poor woman who answers the phone to read to me their no response! I will never buy LG again! This was a 2000.00 investment for my new kitchen - the worst worst purchase ever!

I bought this LG dishwasher 2 years ago. The dishwasher never worked well. Dishes were not clean, racks collapsed, the cycles it offered were useless. The Smart Diagnosis does not function. The app is not yet set up. Within the first year the dishwasher completely broke down and I had to replace the motor. I asked for a new dishwasher but the company refused. I figured it was a lemon. Now a little past the second year the dishwasher is not draining. I took the dishwasher out of the space to make sure that the pipe was not kinked. I found a tissue stuffed in a spot where a screw should have been. The repair man probably put it there to prevent something from jiggling. How do I know he repaired it properly? I spoke with customer service in the Philippines. The girl was cordial but explained that to fix the dishwasher it was going to cost me $400. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They transferred me to a girl in Alabama who was less than helpful. She was rude. She just talked and talked about how I should have bought an extended warranty and did not let me get a word in. Finally she ended up hanging up on me. It seems like highway robbery that I pay 899 for a dishwasher that breaks in the first year, then little into the second year they want me to pay another 400. I cannot afford to pay 440 dollars a year to have a dishwasher. I had a Maytag before this that lasted 20 years and I paid about $350 for it.

Bought the LG LFC24786st from Sears exactly 3 years ago this week. At the 1 1/2 year point the motherboard and fan needed replacing. Really WTF, a year and a half. Oh well, it was under warranty. Yesterday it happens again. Right now the fridge is sitting at 54 degrees, the freezer is warmer because we had to remove everything. Really now, 2 motherboards in three years plus the Sears extended warranty is no longer any good because of the closing even though I still have 2 years left. This is really looking like LG Lemon fridges are not the way to go. I see from above that its not so much a model of the fridge but the make that keeps breaking. Ill tell you something, this is hitting the internet big time. Im frustrated, pissed off, and right now... fridgeless.

I originally gave LG a poor product review regarding my LG fridge. The control panel, icemaker, and water dispenser stopped working. It got off to a rough start working with LG customer service. It took a couple of visits from the LG technician to figure out that the left door would have to be replaced. This was an expensive repair. I contacted LG and requested assistance with the cost of the repair. It took a while (about three weeks), but LG stepped up and bought the part and I paid the labor. My fridge is 4 years old and long out of warranty. Its not lost on me that LG didnt have to do anything. LG is the first appliance/electronics company that did anything for me out of warranty. I should also add that the LG technician was very professional and reliable. Overall, LG turn me around from frankly a pissed off customer to a loyal customer. LG will be first on my list next time Im in the market for appliances, televisions, etc. The only reason I didnt give LG a full five stars was it just took so long to get my fridge fixed and it took several phone calls to LG customer service before I found and agent who took and interest and went to bat for me. I think her name was Marsee. Im not sure about the spelling. One last thing, LG does not mark up their parts. I checked. If you have an issue with an LG product, make sure you use LG technicians. If you call and independent outfit, you can expect that they will (in some cases) mark up the parts double.

Our compressor and coil failed on our 4 1/2 year old fridge. We bought the fridge from Lowes Canada with a 4 year extended warranty. About 2 years ago the fridge stopped working, all the food spoiled. We called the repair company and they fixed it. Just recently the fridge died. LG said they would send out a repair person in about a week! All the food spoiled. LG said the repair man would call us to schedule when he would be coming. The day before he was supposed to come, LG cancelled our appointment without telling us and said they need the repair man elsewhere and they would reschedule the appointment for TWO weeks later. Who does that to their customers? We called Lowes and freaked out. They sent over another repairman who said the compressor and coil were pooched. 3 weeks we waited for him to come back to fix it. In the mean time we purchased another fridge to put in the basement so we could get back to normality (not LG Brand). The fridge is fixed with new compressor and coil but the compressor will not stop running. LG and Lowes have both washed their hands and said there is nothing else they can do! I’ll I can hear in my house I’d the constant hum of the fridge all the time. I have never had such a bad experience with LG and Lowes Canada in my life. Too many apologies and no action. Talk is cheap! Stand behind what you build and stand behind what you sell. I am a small business owner and would never treat my customer that way. Brutal. Loved the look of this range but told salesman I wanted self clean. He said look it has Easy Clean. Not the same I found out 2 months later. Also my service book states I get grill pan for top of stove and small cleaning kit which I found out months later and was told not for my model... But the worst is my oven is chipping enamel - golf ball size chip. Also told not under warranty. This is a defect not warranty problem. So now it’s my problem to replace this part on bottom of oven. Is about $180.00 and grill pan is about 60.00 plus cleaning kit about $10.00 so I need to spend about 250.00 to get my range back to new. Remember this range is only 18 months old... My husband wanted a GE but I like how this looked. Wished I listened but won’t have this range long at this rate because it’s hard to get parts from overseas and customer service sucks and so does the company. Be WARNED!!!!!

I was remodeling my kitchen and bought a brand new range and an over the range microwave, delivered 12/2018, installed in Feb 2019 due to kitchen not being ready. When started using it I noticed some white spots or discoloration on the stainless steel front of the range. As the range worked fine I did not immediately call CS to see if anything can be done about this issue. Then the microwave stop working so I called CS and told them about both appliances and they scheduled a time to come out for the MW but told me they would be get back with me about the range which they never did after a week. When the guys came out to look at the MW I showed them the spots and they tried cleaning them as well. They said Id have to call back in as nothing was scheduled for the range just the MW. They even confirmed that the front face of the range could be replaced a simple fix. I called the next Monday to ask about this again and the first guy told me from what he could see, from a photo I had sent in the first time, it was nothing that can be done about it. So I ask why he thought that from looking at a photo, he said he would get me over to a supervisor. After being on hold for 20 minutes a guy got on the phone and told me that if I would have called as soon as I noticed the spots that they could have replaced it based on a defect but since I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. He said it might be a chemical reaction but I told him Ive only used what was recommended for me to use. I asked them if they could replace the front piece and he said no that because I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. Yes I waited until the MW stop working before I called because the range was working fine. I know that if CS wanted to help and replace one piece that they could have but they punished me for waiting, its not as if I was asking for a brand new range. Ive already have had a few people ask me what LG did about taking care of the range and now I can let them know and everyone know that they chose not to do anything because I was busy and didnt call right away. I will never buy LG again!!!

I purchased an LG Refrigerator Door-in-Door in December 2015. On September 14, 2014 I woke up to water all over my kitchen floor due to ice melted in freezer. First thing was to use troubleshooting guide. Did all resets suggested with no results. Called LG and went through all that again with them. Was told to reset and wait 24 hrs then check and call if not cooling. Needless to say this did not work. I lost a freezer and refrigerator full of food. All spoiled. Following Saturday a repairman came out and said that compressor was gone. They ordered a compressor on September 22, 2016. Today is Oct. 10, 2016 and I still have no resolution.I have made many calls both to LG and the place supposedly responsible for repair with no satisfaction. I have never encountered such poor customer service in my life. I just walked around my home and realized that I have 3 LG TVs, a Blu Ray, refrigerator, and microwave. Therefore it is obvious I have spent a lot of money on LG products. I now see that the company does not stand behind its products so I will not purchase any more of their merchandise. As I looked through the reviews I see that I am not alone. LG MUST NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CONSUMERS. So as customers we need to let them know that there is no excuse for such poor workmanship or service.

I received an LG front load washer at 12 noon today. I did the first load which spewed soapy water on the floor. I did subsequent small loads with no overflow. The dispensers retain clear water after cycle completed. I contacted LG to question why the water remains in the dispensers and why the overflow. I was informed that I used too much soap which caused the overflow. This is my second LG, and I am no dummy. I know how to fill the soap dispenser to the normal or max levels using HE products. The response from LG is We only recommend 2 tbs for a big load. I measured the amount of liquid to fill to the normal mark which is 5 tbs and to the max level which is 7 tbs.I explained this to the LG rep and the response was, We have already sent this numerous times to the designers. WHAT??? They know about the problem, continue to produce the product using the same improper guides in the manual and intuitively, the consumer follows the dispenser level marks and provide no ALERT to consumer!!! Of course, I still needed to know about the clear water remaining in the dispensers. That is normal. The dispenser dispenses by overfilling the drawer, that is shy there is water remaining at the end. Of course! We all want stagnated water to sit in the drawer possibly turning moldy and smelly to be dispensed into the next load of wash! I am absolutely incredulous! How can a manufacturer possibly continue to produce and sell such a subpar product? I was pleased with my last LG that performed well for 6 years and recently started to overflow and would not pump the water adequately out of the washer. Pity theres not a less than 0 stars option. I do several loads of laundry a week for a family of five. The washer doesnt even wet the clothes: I mean the clothes are actually dry in the middle of the load; only the outside of a medium-sized load gets wet. I called LG. When I told the repair guy that the washer didnt get the clothes wet, he checked it and said nothings wrong, thats just how it goes. Here is the proper way to use this washer: Pretreat and load clothes. Run water in laundry room sink until hot; fill a bucket with soapy water, and pour over clothes in machine to make sure they get wet. Set washer to: cotton, pre-wash, extra high heat, highest spin speed, heavily soiled, water plus, and turn on the machine. Wait two and a half hours, and then repeat. Thats right--about two and a half hours to get a load done, five to get them more-or-less presentable. Cold is cold; tap cold--whatever that it--is cold, warm is cold, hot is cold, extra hot is actually hot.I emailed Energy Star: they said that if I have a problem with the machine I should call the manufacturer. When I explained that the machine was working to spec--that it was designed that way--they explained that they DONT TEST the Energy Star machines to make sure they do the job theyre supposed to, they rely on the manufacturer to confirm that the appliance does the job its supposed to AND meet Energy Star requirements. Somebody needs to clue in the EPA and Energy Star: if you have to wash every load twice, in blazing hot water, and replace the appliance every 3 - 5 years (typical of modern machines) youre not saving resources. Getting rid of this and getting an old-fashioned Speed Queen.

My 5 year old refrigerator suddenly stopped working. A technician came out the next day and determined the compressor had failed. I was shocked because compressors typically can last over 20 years. After doing some research I come to find out that this is a widespread problem with LG and possibly some other brands that use this Linear type compressor. LG knows about the problem, and continues selling this product. To make matters worse, they are or have been installing the same type compressor as a replacement which will likely fail again in a short time.LG - listen this is no picnic when you lose hundreds of dollars of food. I spent over $3,000 for what I was led to believe to be a top quality refrigerator. Though the compressor is under warranty, LG said the labor is not because its 5 years and a few weeks, are you kidding? I am not pleased to have to shell out $550 in labor on top of the cost of the lost food. If this is how you treat your customers, you can rest assure LG will not be my appliance brand of choice.
