I bought these appliances a 1 1/2 years ago. The upper dishwasher rack is full of rust and peeling. I called LG service to complain and they promised to send me a new rack... That was 3 months ago..Still waiting! The electric range is also junk. When the burners are turned on they immediately go off, so you have to stand there and push the knob in again and again to get it to cook anything. These stainless steel appliances were not cheap. Anyone thinking of buying LG appliances should rethink the purchase. I will never buy another LG product.

I will never buy an LG refrigerator again. They have very poor customer service. They are very good at giving you bogus information and youre calling customer service in the Philippines. My refrigerator went out on a Friday and LG gives me two supposed authorized dealers, one never picked up the phone and the other one was closed at 2:30 and I couldnt leave a message because of a full mailbox. I took it upon myself to get someone out and had it fixed by Monday. If your product goes out on the weekend forget it.The one supposed authorized dealer said they dont fix LG refrigerators in Arizona anymore and LG still continues to give out that name, the other one said they couldnt get someone out for a week. They are very good at jacking people around and it ended up costing me 743.00 for a new compressor which is covered by LG but they said since I didnt call who they told me to they werent covering it. I had Sears products for 20 years and never had a problem. As a company we keeping signing on for these foreign products and they just dont last. I will never purchase another LG product and I will tell as many people I know the same information.

After 1-1/2 years my $4000 refrigerator broke, compressor! Thats not the worst part. There is not a technician in my area. I am a single parent and have been without a fridge for 3 weeks now being promised someone will call me. I have used all my money to feed my 3 kids because you can not buy groceries. We have been buying fast food. I had just spent $400 on groceries when it broke! No one at Lowes ever told me there was no one in my area that would be able to service this fridge! If it can not be serviced in this area why sell it in this area!!! I will never ever buy another LG product again! BUYERS BEWARE!!!

Purchased this washer (WT1101CW) January 2014. Its been two years of rebalancing accompanied with numerous draining and refills as this machine struggles to complete a load. Have had a technician visit us three times and he made sure the machine is level, has a new board with updated firmware and still we have problems. Even more telling is the fact that a tub clean cycle (water only) cannot finish without the machine stopping to display UE. Ive given up. For a quick wash our neighbors have let us use their washing machine. In the meantime my solution is unfortunately to move to a different brand of washing machine.

We purchased the front load washer and dryer in December 2010. The pretty red ones! What a mistake! Actually, no problems with the dryer, except it doesnt seem to dry as well as it did in the beginning. I always have to add a click or two to the automatic dry time. The washer broke this June 2011. We had Geek Squad come out, it took four weeks for them to get back to replace the drum and three other pieces that attach to the drum. Four weeks! Then it broke again six weeks later. Same thing, we tried to get Geek Squad out again and they are so hard to work with to schedule a time. They should realize people have jobs! I called Best Buy to get help and they gave me LGs direct line. She was very helpful and friendly. But then the service tech called and his first words were, Do you agree to pay for this service call? and told us it was not the drum, it was a shock absorber. He hadnt even been to the house! He just told us this by the description. He wasnt coming out until we agreed on the phone to pay for the service call. Forget it. We are going to buy a new washer tonight. It will not be an LG. Such a hassle and disappointment, $1000.00 wasted. Pretty red machine...too bad it is a piece of crap!

Where to start... Loading this is awkward. Nothing fits easily without having to adjust the racks. The silverware holder is flimsy and falls apart every time you pull it out. I had to zip ties ours together. It takes more than 2 hours to run a Normal wash. And unless you washed everything before loading, the chances of the load being 100 percent clean is slim to none. You have a better chance of George Clooney and Brad Pitt washing and drying your dishes by hand than you do of getting a clean load out of this machine! You have to use liquid soap. Pods wont dissolve in this machine. Theres a filter. A pain-in-the-butt filter, with a Rubber washer that is to be emptied and cleaned every few days. Plus the spray arms clog.Often... THIS MACHINE REQUIRES MORE MAINTENANCE THAN A BEVERLY HILLS HOUSEWIFE!!! And like a RHOBH, it does NOT work! This is a perfect machine for a Newlywed couple who is despised by a frenemy or scorned mother in law. This machine will drive a newlywed insane. Night after night of unclean dishes. This is the kind of machine that will give a new wife an eating disorder... If you buy this machine, your spouse will not only question your thought process about this purchase, but he will question you. And why he ever dumped Susan for you. He will question all of his life choices with you after a few weeks with this purchase. This machine is that bad. Im serious. I would not buy this machine for Eva Braun as a wedding present. I wouldnt wish it on her. Dont. Just dont.

I purchased an LG top loading washing machine in 2014. It is by far the worst washer I have ever dealt with. It can honestly take all day to wash a load of clothes unless I stand there to make sure that it does not stop to run more water in to rebalance the load and trust me I do everything I can to make sure that it is balanced. I would love to be able to throw it out the door.

LG Full well knows they have compressor problems with a bunch of their refrigerators. We lost all our food & it took them two weeks to service us, it was just pathetic and we still had to pay like $500 for a problem they are fully aware of. They refused to pay me for the food lost even after wasting my time making me believe I would get reimbursed. In all my life I’ve never had a refrigerator die and I’m over 50 years old. I have met at least four people who have had LG refrigerators just stop working. Never buy LG unless you like junk.

We buy this august 8 2012. The machine replace one 9 year old front load kenmore HE 2 PLUS, still working great and not rust. My wife like top load, the reasons we buy. Lg start rust round the glass on door on bottom and on dispenser liquid after 17 month. We call the co. Lg with answer negative, they not cover for rust. We call the extension warranty 4 year. They said we not cover for rust, they cover just mechanical. Its ridiculous. We show the picture on home depot. They said we can give 30% discount on new one. In conclusion I got lemon from lg. I was fan for lg, buying ac, lcd, tv and many more.. We not buy no more from lg.

On April 2012, we purchased an LG over-the-stove microwave Model LMH2016ST for $320. The warranty was only good for one year but we thought we were buying a good product so went ahead and purchased it. On August 2015, the Primary Interlock Switch on the door broke so we called a recommended appliance repairman who replaced it for a total of $170.75. The same switch broke again on February 2016, one year later, and the same repairman told us he has to order a new part and this will cost another $170.75. I called LG Company and registered a complaint about this happening twice and they told me I should have paid attention to the one year warranty at the time of purchase. They do not stand behind their products. We will not repair this microwave because we have already put $237 into this product that appears to be a lemon. This is the last LG product of any kind that we will purchase. We also had a brand new $3000 refrigerator break down the first week we purchased it. Luckily that very expensive part was covered by the warranty at the time. So far, our LG Range is still working. We have lost all confidence in LG products and will not buy anything else from this company.

We bought this stove 4 years ago and installed it in a new home build. The first cheap plastic knob broke within the first year. We are now down to ONE working knob. I have attempted to repair and strengthen the original knobs multiple times (something LG should have done in the first place). My question is how can a company manufacture such a great product and then put absolute garbage on the most used part of the stove. My real problem is the ridiculous price for the replacement. Is there a realistic option for this? I do not mind spending the money for QUALITY items, but to overpay for the same, substandard item is not feasible. The real sadness is that I will never buy another LG product again because of a $2 knob for a stove that is now costing $30+ and even sadder is the fact LG put such a piece of garbage on their appliances in the first place.

I bought an LG over the stove exhaust hood microwave in September 2009. Less than a year later, the door cracked along the frame. This hood was covered under warranty. Again, in 9 months, the second door did the same thing. I was referred to Warner Stellians headquarters customer service. Susan ** dealt with LG, who said too much time had lapsed since the original warranty expired. She then contacted their sales rep who came back with the same response. Therefore, Warners Stellian will do nothing about the door. I think the second door should have been under warranty because it was a new door. Otherwise, the microwave should be replaced. The plastic construction of the microwave door is defective; its failed twice, both times within 9 months of installation.

We bought our LG washer and dryer in 2006. You can take any of the complaints/descriptions from the others and put our name under it as our problems are the same as theirs. The problem with smell and extreme mold buildup started immediately and continues to this day. We clean it weekly with washing machine cleaners, bleach and dishwasher detergent to no avail. The washer door stays open when not in use. LG customer service? It does not exist. We will never buy an LG product ever--not even an alarm clock! I would give it zero stars if I could. We have a smelly washer filled with mold and mildew. We are going to buy a new washer today. Good riddance, LG!

I guess that judging by the other microwave reviews, I shouldnt be surprised that my first-ever LG product wasnt any good. We purchased a new house in May, which included a new LG microwave that was purchased/installed in April when the kitchen was remodeled. Last week, the microwave just completely stopped working, and when I called LG, none of the troubleshooting solutions worked. Their response was that they needed a receipt to look at it and repair it. However, the previous owner did not have the receipt. I told them that I knew for a fact that it was purchased in April. Regardless of that, its manufactured date was May 2011, so shouldnt they be ashamed that their product only lasted 1.5 years from its manufactured date? Instead, I now have to contact the people we bought our house from and ask them to call the store they purchased the unit from and find the receipt - wasting everyones time. Products break, I get that. But its the fact that it broke within 1.5 years of its manufactured date and that customer service was awful. I will never buy an LG appliance again, and Ill pass the word along to my friends.

My husband and I purchased a range from Home Depot 2013 and I thought this was great and absolutely loved the stainless steel and blue inside oven. That was until problem after problem. Why purchase an extended warranty just to find out Home Depot does not have service people in the area to service their products. Why even sell the warranty if you cant fulfill the agreement. I am furious!!! Stuck with a range after a couple of years that burners will not work and oven temperature only reach 350 degrees. Then only to be offered a refund of half of what we paid!! Really!! Updated on 09/18/2019: Update to my prior post of July 2019. It is now September 18, 2019 and my refrigerator is still not fixed. The most recent cooling issue started in June 2019 and it is still not fixed by LG. I call every week and every week Im told that they are sending my issue to the Escalation Dept who will call me in 2-3 business days. No one ever calls back. Finally someone acted like they were going to replace it. After I uploaded receipt provided by Lowes. The new person who answered the phone said no replacement until a service person says it cannot be repaired. So, I said I dont care whether you replace it or fix it, I just need it to work because it is now 50+ degrees inside the refrigerator. Of course, this new person is referring my case to the Escalation Dept and Ill be calling again next week to try to get my refrigerator fixed. I doubt it will ever be fixed but Ill call every week until someone shows up to try to fix it... DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!!!Original Review: NEVER BUY ANY LG APPLIANCE! The LG refrigerator I bought (which cost over $3,000.00) had an error message about cooling by the fan within 24 hours of the refrigerator being delivered. It took about 6 months and at least 4 visits from a repairman (after many, many phone calls to try to get a repairmen sent) before the issue was fixed. Then, 4 months later, I have the same error message with the same fan issue. It has now been over a month since the issue started again and it is still not fixed. I could write 10 pages about the horrible customer service at LG and the slow and horrible service companies they LG has assigned to fix the issue. I will certainly never buy another LG appliance and I recommend that no one else ever buy an LG appliance. Any manufacturer has got to have a better product and a better customer service function and better service companies that they engage to act on their behalf.

LG wont warranty a two-month old $1,100 washer that is having the same UE code and spin/rinse problems that many others are having. The difference is that, in my case, I bought it from a friend that went with a stackable set of machines. And they were saying that LGs warranty is not transferable! They will only stand behind their products if you purchase them new and have the receipt! Pretty sneaky, if you ask me. The service rep actually said, Well, its in the fine print! I will never own anything made by LG again! What a rip off! I will make sure that everyone possibly know about their warranty being highly unfair! If everyone knows how bad it is, nobody in their right mind would buy this LG junk!

LG washing machine broke after 3 years in a household of 2 adults and our 18th month old daughter... No reason why except defective machine. Customer service no help. After dealing with them our household will NEVER purchase another LG product again... The machine was very expensive and purchased in 2013. Its been leaking on our brand new wooden floor for a year. Our floor was completely ruined the underlayment as well. No one here (Marthas Vineyard) will service LG machines. Were going to dump the machine... Biggest waste of money. Consumers beware when purchasing an LG appliance! If you are remotely mechanically inclined and prefer to save money and repair things yourself, LG is not the manufacturer for you. A little over a year ago LG decided that they will not sell replacement parts to the general public forcing you to call an authorized service center to come to your house at your expense to repair your appliance no matter how small or simple a fix.Recently I needed to replace an $8 tumbler roller on our LG Tromm dryer that had worn and was making noise. It is about a 30 minute fix and requires a screwdriver and two wrenches. LG Canada nor any of its authorized service centers would sell me the part even though I had already removed it and was ready to install a new one. The parts are sold in the USA but every company that sells the part will not ship to Canada. My only options are to either bend to these unfair practices by LG or junk the dryer and buy a new one - albeit a different brand!

My side by side refrigerator that was only 5 years old has died, force to buy a new one side french doors, one door the left side already is getting stuck? The features I liked about the LG refrigerator was my double side by side doors and the ice maker and water dispenser were the best part of it all. I would get it again if I needed another one anytime soon. The Only thing I didnt like was I think there could have been more shelves and storage room inside it. Overall it has been a really good refrigerator though, so I really cant complain about it too much. I never really had any issues. The reason I purchased the LG refrigerator when I did Is due to a sale they had going on at the time and I liked the style of the fridge. I chose this brand over other brands because I have purchased LG in the past and never had any issues with them at all.

We had problems with our first LG, and finally got our money back. We went to Tate Appliance Center in Tampa, FL where we explained what happened and told it was probably a bad unit. Liking the range, we repurchased another and again bought the $2,500 5-year insurance. Were informed that Tate would replace anything that was wrong, including total replacement. Within the first year, the range top glass started to crack. We called LG that the front burner would turn off automatically, beep or stay on. The technician said LG would not replace it unless it was from the electrical units. Then it cracked across the whole top, which the technician said it needed to be replaced. Lo and behold, LG recalled 161,000 units, but ours was corrected. Now we have cracking from the back control panel. Tate said we had to call their insurance company, but we first offered to have them refund our money and we would buy a 4-piece stainless steel GE package, but they refused. The insurance company said the cracking is not covered since it is cosmetic! We fear what will happen next, but we will never buy LG nor from Tate Appliance Center ever again. Consumers BEWARE!

We purchased all of our LG appliances at Home Depot May of 2013. So far we have had issues with both our LFX31945st fridge and our DLEX8000v dryer. Fridge costing $3200 and dryer $1300 having an issue within the first 8 months of use. Seems crazy to me but thats not even the beginning of our frustration. Ill try to stay on topic with the dryer on this review. Our dryer initially stopped drying on a Sunday. When we called LG for it to be repaired, we were told to call one of their service reps to come and repair it which I thought was weird, that we had to do the legwork for their warranty repair. A&E was their contractor that we scheduled services with. The soonest they could come was Tuesday. They replaced the thermostat and it worked for about 30min then it stopped working again, of course after the tech left. We called LG and they said they cant do anything further until they receive the work history from the tech which could take 24-48hrs after the services were completed. They finally allowed me to speak with a supervisor after requesting it for the fourth time. The supervisor wasnt much better but after arguing with him for over an hr, he said he would have Dells come over on Thursday since A&E didnt have any apts. available. Which was a lie because we actually had A&E coming over that same day to repair our LG fridge for the third time that same day. When Dells came, they were already upset that they were requested to service it after another repair shop tried to repair so they simply confirmed that it was not heating and called LG to explain that it was broken. They argued and belittled their own service rep to the point he didnt even want to talk with them anymore. After he left I called LG again and they said they would have to set up another service call because Dells didnt change any parts, it was not considered serviced. Long story short, LG told me three parts must be changed in the appliance before it will be reviewed for replacement or refund. The tech must provide the work history to the proper LG phone number or it doesnt count. Us as the customer have to pay the price for LGs lack of organization and horrible processes. They scheduled a third service call for Sunday so it had been a week since we had a working dryer. A&E visited us again and changed the thermostat again. I confirmed that the dryer was working but I could smell something burnt. He said that was normal for the dryer to smell like that. I put a load in and started and told him to stick around for a few minutes to make sure it still worked. I also spoke to him about contacting LG to let them know whats going on in order to move their process along. He flat out refused to call them because of his experience with their customer service. He had another apt. so he left. Not ten minutes after he left it stopped working again. I called LG and again they told me there was nothing they can do until they receive his work history asking me to contact them to send it to them. What kind of company expects their customers to do their job for them? Ridiculous! When I asked them what they expect me to do until my dryer is repaired or replaced. They asked me if I knew what a clothes hanger was? They also suggested to let them air dry. Why would I purchase a $1300 dryer if I planned on letting my clothes air dry around my house or on a clothes line. LG is a joke. I spoke to the manager of Home Depot and explained my LG experience with him and he said he wasnt surprised I wasnt the first to tell him about there horrible service and he had spoken to them personally on behalf of us to get it resolved. He said he wasnt treated any better. Home Depots manager has been the only one that has helped us. Even though it has nothing to do with the warranty Home Depot gave us, he has offered to send us a dryer to use while we are dealing with the return process with LG which I thought was very generous of Home Depot. They actually care to keep our business and LG could care less. LG is setting up another appointment A&E to come out tomorrow so they can change out the same part for the third time to see if the third time is a charm I guess. LGs appliances might look nice from the outside but they dont function worth a crap and dont expect them to want to help you with them when they do fall apart. I would prefer to have no customer service then deal with their customer service. I wish they would take all of their appliances back.

Wish I had found this website before I purchased this nightmare of a dishwasher (Model LDT7797ST) at Costco. Unfortunately I was out of town and did not run it before the 90 warranty period expired and now I am stuck with this lemon. The problem is, except for one option, it shuts itself off in the middle of most of its cycles (it has numerous options such as half load, energy level, dirtiness of dishes) and does not clean or drain. The dishes are soaking when the one cycle that seems to run completes. LG did send out two repairmen who both said the machine works (as the motor does work and it can drain when its not running in a cycle) but it doesnt. I have spent hours on the phone with Costco (I have called them six times) and LG (I have spoken with them six times) and have missed work to have repairmen tell me nothing is wrong with the dishwasher, and I spent $900 on the purchase of dishwasher. I am so traumatized by this experience, I have stopped using the dishwasher altogether. Save yourself and go with another company!

I bought my refrigerator 5 years ago to come home to leaking water and a warm refrigerator. I was on long holds with the LG department. They scanned the refrigerator telling me nothing is wrong, to just unplug it and call back. I called back. Was hung up on 3 times. Given repair companies that were not open not in my service area. I found someone to look at the refrigerator and was told it is a compressor issue. I paid over 3000 for a refrigerator that didnt last 3 years. Im very dissatisfied with this product and customer service. I will never buy another LG product. They know these refrigerators have this issue and they are doing nothing to fix it. Same type of compressor is being used to fix the problem which may occur again.

I bought an LG Refrigerator on 11/28/12 from Howards Upland Store. I bought a 3 yr. extended warranty from Howards on the refrigerator. On 05/14/15 the refrigerator broke. I contacted Howards Upland, who contacted the Warranty Company, who contacted their repair company. For the last 9 weeks, my husband and I have made over 100 phone calls regarding the status of our repair to the Howards Store in Upland, the Warranty Company, the first repair company they sent, then the second repair company they sent, Howards Repair Service Company, and finally the manufacturer (LG). We have been told The parts are on the way.; The parts will be here in two days.; We are working with LG to get you the parts.; We are working with LG to get you a new refrigerator.; Parts are on back order until at least sometime in August.. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I will never buy anything with an LG label again, nor will I buy anything from Howards TV & Appliance. None of them honor their sales, their warranty, nor their repairs.

We purchased the Door In Door French Door refrigerator (LG - LFX31945ST) on 7/20/2013 for $2500. Two days ago I heard a loud pop that sounded like ice dumping on overload. We left the house for a few hours only to come home and find water all over the floor, leaking from the ice maker in the fridge. The fridge had stopped maintaining any cold temperature in either the refrigerator or the freezer section. Much food was in the process of spoiling.Called an appliance repair person who diagnosed the problem as the control module/capacitor, which was burned out. He called for the part and was told that particular part has been on backorder since April and that it was unknown if or even when it would be available. This is ridiculous, we now had to go spend money to purchase a new refrigerator. The service person informed us that his main complaints on appliances are for LG and Samsung products. He doesnt understand why there is not a class action lawsuit against these companies for their poorly performing products for which you have trouble getting even parts to repair. We will not buy anything LG ever again.

Initially the LG double oven and 5 burner stove top looked amazing. It did just what we wanted it to do during the holidays. The super boiler burner is great. The double oven did everything we needed for the holiday dinners. The only problem is the burners turn on (Gas) with the least amount of pressure on the knobs. Other reviews have express the same danger and LG does not have a fix according to other reviews. I went to my local hardware store and bought springs that I cut to length and placed them behind the knobs to provide the need for more pressure to activate the ignition. Its a matter of time before clothing or other items get caught on fire. Especially with the Super Boiler burner.

On June 7 of this year my saga with LG started. They attempted the first repair on my not quite two year old refrigerator (LSFD2491ST) which has an extended warranty on top of being under manufacturers warranty. Till today there have been 6 repair attempts plus a few more diagnostic visits and they havent been able to make it work once. Lately the technician whose name is Kevin but wont tell me his last name has become disgruntled. Has failed to show to his appointments 7 times. This means 28 hours of waiting. He has stated on his last two visits that there is nothing he can do and claims he will deem unrepairable but when I call LG they say he has not named it so.I have asked for alternate solutions with other technicians or perhaps outsourcing to authorized service providers but they just keep rescheduling Kevin who hasnt been able to fix and has just stopped showing up. They say they reached out to him and his manager but nothing happens. The extended warranty company called Warrantech states their hands are tied since they only will use LG. I am out of patience and ideas; seems this company is stalling. This has been disruptive to my family, expensive in having to eat or order out much more often, having to wait for hours for a tech that wont show up and the anxiety that it has produced. Out of patience and idea short of a lawsuit. Anyone with experience in this?

We purchased our Kenmore Refrigerator in April 2010. The door gaskets/seals continually fail. Sears has refused to replace the refrigerator. The door seals have been replaced 5 times now in the almost 4 years weve owned it. The problem is the door gasket/cam/holder design. Without a redesign of these parts, they will never be able to actually fix the problem. All they can do is replace the parts again. Now Im at an impasse; Looking at the refrigerator reviews and problems, I dont think there are any Good refrigerators made anymore. Our original GM Frigidaire lasted 27 years with approximately 5 replaced defrost timers in that time before the compressor gave up. How did things go from lasting 20 years to lasting hopefully 5 with the new appliances? Even the appliances made in the US dont seem to last anymore. Im very frustrated and angry with the situation. Were currently looking at going with a Sub-Zero refrigerator.

My husband bought this stove for me on Feb 14th, I was thrilled! I love to bake and cook and even canning. I had the stove for less than a month and the large right burner died. I called to have it repaired. We kept using the stove, and before the repairman could get to us, the entire top died! You could push the buttons, they would come on but didnt heat up. The repairman came out, looked at the stove and said he had to order the parts. Two weeks later, he replaced the motherboard and everything was up and running just fine. Two months later, we had the same issue. The left burner goes this time. Again, the same repairman comes out, looks at the stove, he again orders the same parts. He replaces the motherboard again. On the 3rd repair, LG tells me the repair guy is the one who has to call it a lemon, the repair guy tells me its LG that has to call it a lemon. Okay, so he repaired it and I just let it go, WHICH I have NOT have done!Dec. 14, we call the repairman again, I am now on my 4th repair for the same thing! Now LG wants to see my receipt for the stove, and they are sending it to their Claims dept. to see if they can replace this stupid stove. I really hope they do NOT plan to send me another stove like this one! Last week, the repairman came out, of course they have to order the parts and I am just betting, my stove will NOT be repaired in time for me to cook the family Christmas dinner! It really sucks to spend all that money for a stove that only works part time! The repair guy said, he also see problems with stove that have fancy mother boards. If you buy this stove, make sure you have a backup plan! I am currently baking cookies on a small rack while sitting on coffee cups in a roaster pan and it SUCKS! Now, I guess I will have to cook Christmas dinner on a George foreman grill, a roaster pan, and an electric skillet or its fast food. Geez like a great dinner for Christmas, NOT!

I wish I had read all the reports about the LG refrigerator, particularly the French door model with icemaker housed in the refrigerator door. We purchased this supposedly state of the art refrigerator in March, but recently attached the water supply hose for the water/ice dispenser. The water dispenser worked fine, but the icemaker did not. A call went out to the service department and a technician came to fix the problem yesterday. Well, he replaced the motherboard and a fan at the back of the freezer. A brand new refrigerator needs to have these items replaced already??? Long story short, this morning, we woke up to a mess in the refrigerator/freezer because everything had melted. Neither the refrigerator nor freezer is working. Of course, service is closed on the weekends. So now, I have a $3000 storage box sitting in my kitchen with a houseful of guests arriving in a few days. My concern is after reading about all these problems reported on this website, we will be faced with continuous problems in the future (especially after the product goes off warranty!!!). LG... Life Good?? In my opinion, I think not if you own one of their refrigerators. Sorry to say. I am hopeful that this problem will be resolved, but after reading post after post about these same issues, I am not holding my breath. :(

This microwave caught fire while steaming vegetables. We heard a snapping sound followed by the entire inside space bursting into flames. I was able to extinguish with no damage except to the microwave. Since the unit was only 10 months old and still under warranty I called LG. Their response was immediate and a technician (tech) was at our home the next day. Upon arrival and inspection he made a few comments: (1) Why did we clean up the damages inside the unit? (2) What happened? (3) I need to call home office to talk to inside Tech.He made the call as we stood there and a Tech on the phone asked him to send a video from his phone with instructions from the Tech on the phone. Once completed he hung up and said this unit is fried and needs to be replaced but two Techs from home office had to review. Ten minutes later they called back saying it was customer error due to GREASE FIRE and they would not repair or replace. My only choice was to escalate the claim to LG management which I did. After sending them store receipt I asked for the denial and reason in writing which they absolutely refused to give me. The next day they emailed me to say they set up a Return Authorization Review and I should hear from them within 2-3 business days. It is now five business days with no response!I went to the store where I purchased the LG microwave, gave them my notes and asked for help. Once reviewed by store and they seen what LG was putting me through they said they would replace the unit. Would you buy another LG product after reading about this runaround? I would not but I certainly will purchase again from Best Buy as they stood behind a product that the manufacturer, LG in this case, would not.

LG Washer WT5001C - This washer was recommended by Home Depot. I had no idea it was a Korean made machine. I was told it was a GE brand that had great reviews. Shame on me for not checking. Luckily I purchased the 4 year extended warranty. It is by far the WORST machine I have ever had. I have had repeated service because it is never in balance and ALWAYS take over 90 minutes to do a simple load. I have been told, I put too few items in the machine. Next service call told I put too many clothes in the machine, next service call I was told I didnt know how to load a machine. Seriously I have been washing clothes for over 35 years! Finally a good local service company was assigned to come out and they replaced the Core control board and the Display board. NO CHANGE. Finally called again for warranty service only to find out there is a major part recall on many of the models so if you havent checked you might want to. Of course finding someone authorized by LG to come out is the next joke. Their service departments are as bad as their washers. This is simply a poorly built product that should be totally recalled and no longer sold. Major retailers should be ashamed selling this to consumers. There is no doubt I will be donating this machine as soon as I get close to the expiration of the extended warranty. I would gladly participate in a class action against this company.

I used to own a front load LG washer. It was great and served our needs very well for years. The only problem with it was it sprung a leak and we could not get a repair man out to fix it in our area! I decided it was time to replace this machine and bought another LG washer, this time a top load. What a mistake! This washer is a nightmare. It has wrecked our sheets. They are permanently stained a blotchy grey color. They have large bleach stains as well. This is not where it stops either. Our towels are all bleach stains, as well as socks and other items a person would use bleach for. This washer wrecked many of our belongings! I just hate it! It got moisture in the control panel a few weeks after owning it. I phoned to Lowes and they told me to call LG. LG told me to call a service company who would not come out until LG called them for fear of not being paid. I have never had any result! We bought a home with a new LG side-by-side refrigerator already installed. We have been in the house for 4 years and have had a service call on the refrigerator freezer at least 5 times. 1. The fan motor went bad, so the compressor shut down, causing food to defrost. 2. Water would not flow from the dispenser or to the ice maker. One of the solenoids was bad. 3. The ice cube tray that makes the ice was warped, so the water would overflow into the ice bin and freeze all the ice together. Apparently, the heater for the tray causes the tray to warp over time.4. The hose in the back that supplies water to the icemaker developed a leak and soaked our floors. This was repaired and it re-occurred multiple times. This issue is so common with LG that there is a procedure on YouTube on how to replace and repair the hose. I have owned refrigerators for 20 years with no problems. I believe LG definitely has a quality problem, so buy at your own risk.

After I had a tech out to look at the problem the total cost to repair the fridge was $850 which included a free compressor that was covered under the warranty. The issue was all of the other parts that were damaged by the oil leaking out of the faulty compressor are not covered under the parts warranty. This is a total scam by LG who made inferior products. The tech told me the replacement would be the compressor that just broke and I would be back in the same spot 2-3 years from now. Does LG think 2-3 year for a refrigerator is a normal life span??

Husband and I purchased a LG dryer model # DLEX3570W two and a half months ago from Conns Appliances and noticed the print around the settings was just wiping off. One side is gone and the other side is smearing. This is a front loader dryer and wasnt cheap. We also purchased the matching washer. The washer print settings are fine so far. We owned LG washer and dryer before this set and although the washer failed after about 4 years, due to pricing we thought we would give it another try. We called LG over the print coming off and sent them photos. They said it wasnt covered under warranty because it is cosmetic. My husband explained to them that it wasnt cosmetic when it affects whether or not you can see what setting that you are setting the dryer on. They said that they wouldnt cover it and that was that, basically. My husband called Conns Appliances and didnt receive any help for them either, even after telling them that he was going to have them come and pick up their junk. LG tried to say that we must have cleaned it with a harsh chemical. I read on a review somewhere back in 2007 they tried to tell the same thing to another woman. Warranty says any defect in materials or workmanship. This is a defect. Im nearly 60 years old and have owned washers and dryers all of my adult life and have never had the settings print come off. I dont care how long that I had owned it. Thinking of getting a lawyer.

I am wondering if any of you have had problems with LG Customer Service and, if so, what was the outcome. Please read the circumstances of my inquiry below: We have been talking to LG since July 28th when our French Door refrigerator stopped working. It was determined by one of their licensed repair people that it was the sealed system and that it was under warranty for parts. However, he does not work on sealed systems. We then contacted LG for additional repair people. We were given five names which we called. Each one said that they either do not repair the sealed system or would not service our refrigerator because it was out of their geographic area. We then turned it back to LG, filed the necessary paperwork requested by LG and was assigned case number **. The case has gone from the Location Services Department to Resolution Department and back twice. We have talked to 5 plus people in the process, all who say it will be 3 to 5 days and they will get back to us which they never have. We have just talked to “Willie” who said that the case is in the Location Service Department once more and it will be 48 hours before he will know what the determination is from that department. Supposedly they are looking for a person to repair it. We are still without a refrigerator and I am at my wits end. In 5 more days it will be one month that we have been dealing with this issue.

Linear Compressors - My LG LSXS26326 came with my home when I purchased it. The fridge is less than 5 years old. In the year Ive had it Ive noticed intermittent cooling/ice production issues. If the temp got above 77 degrees in my house, the fridge would struggle to make ice or keep food cool. Then, on Memorial Day weekend, with family visiting, it finally died. I have a homeowners warranty (fantastic investment) that covers all my appliances. Never had an issue on the couple of things Ive had to call them on. This fridge is an exception. After a TWO WEEK long rigamarole between them and LG to determine a) If the fridge was under warranty. (It wasnt. Im not the original purchaser, as I tried in vain to explain to all parties.) b) Who was going to pay for what (warranty company, all of it). The part is perpetually back ordered. There are so many of these compressors that are failing, they cannot make them fast enough to replace the failed units. Even the replacements are failing within a couple days/weeks/months/years depending on your luck. Today is June 22, and I am, just today, getting my fridge fixed. This process has been an absolute nightmare. And I have a future failure to look forward to. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope this one holds out until I get taxes back next year and can replace it with a functional fridge. I will NEVER, EVER, buy anything LG again in my life. And be CAREFUL. These same compressors are used in Kenmore Elite fridges as well!

Purchased this LG Refrigerator Model LFX25974 on July 3, 2013 from Home Depot and was delivered on July 16. 7 weeks later, the freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling. I contacted LG and after 2 customer service reps, they had me run the self diagnostics on it... which showed I depleted my ice too quickly.... Seriously? The ice was water! LG arranged to have an authorized repairman to come out. The appointment was confirmed with the ApplianceMan in Westerville, Ohio for Thursday, August 29th between 1-5p. NEVER SHOWED!!!! When I contacted them Fri. am, was told they lost my appt. After they arrived Friday afternoon, was told I needed new compressor and evaporator and parts ordered. 1-2 weeks before they come in and then need to schedule another appt to fix.... According to the other reviews, this seems to be the trend with LG. I will never purchase another LG appliance

I liked the reputation of LG is that its prod will last a while and it has very good looking designs for their fridge size. I like all the new features like the new technology that is used. I like the cooling features and the design of the fridge. I also like the color and the fit in the kitchen. I wish it could be more roomy because then I could this is more stuff in the fridge and then I could take more advantage of the new technology advances.

I bought a (3 french door) refrig 4 yrs ago...and absolutely loved it. Bought another one (4 door) in July. One top door shuts & shakes the whole refrig. Delivery people said they cant level it (in my new house). They brought out another one...same thing. Other top door wont shut without physically making it happen...a push just doesnt work & door stays open. He said there is a break on the door that keeps it from shutting automatically. Not at all happy as my insulin got too warm & then it is no good after 28 days. At $500+ a vial...I hate this frig!!! Also bought an LG washer & dryer I loved years ago. This dryer - even with steam & wrinkle cycle leaves all my clothes a wrinkled mess. Have to either line dry or iron things I never had to before. Loved my old LG...HATE this one. Quality has definitely gone to the dogs at LG!

I purchased an LG Refrigerator from Lowes 2 years ago, and had several minor issues. However, now the compressor is out!!! After 2 years??? This is ridiculous! I kept my old Kenmore fridge and its 10 years old but continues to work without problems. Now, I have to move food from my new fridge to the garage into the old fridge that works all the time! I will never purchase a LG product again. Customer service rep, not very good at helping with getting this resolved either. Basically, you are out of luck and on your own.

I apologize for the wordiness of this, but our situation has been going on
I apologize for the wordiness of this, but our situation has been going on for a long time. If I pay $800.00 for a product, and that product fails, I expect a refund. With LG, it doesnt work this way, apparently. I am so sorry I ever bought an LG dryer. I have a dryer at a rental that is over 23 years old. Not a problem; works like a charm. All I want now is a simple dryer with two buttons: on and off. No songs, no flashing lights. We purchased our LG dryer (washer and fridge too!) in June 2014. All three were delivered July 14, 2014. On November 21, 2014, the dryer stopped working. By that I mean that when you pressed the button to run a cycle, it sat there blinking at you and the drum did not turn. Hence begins the ongoing nightmare of 1) trying to speak with an actual customer service rep and 2) scheduling a service tech to come and fix it.On November 28th, an LG authorized tech came out. He couldnt fix the dryer and needed to order a part. Being a Friday, the part was not ordered until December 1st. December 17th, almost a full month since our dryer stopped working, the tech came out to fix the dryer. After spending two hours, he turned it on and it gave us the same symptoms. The tech then remarks, Hm. Looks like the installation did not account for propane. You need a propane conversion. Really? They tell us now? Why not during the initial installation? Why not the first time the tech came out? And this has to be at our expense of course. We are now heading into the holiday season. Family coming to visit. No dryer. We have by now spent gas money, our time, extra planning on when we can drive a load of wet clothes eight miles into town, and scrounged around for cash for the dryer loads. We paid the LG authorized tech over $200 to convert to propane. He did that conversion January 13, 2015. Two weeks later, on January 27th, the dryer failed again with the same symptoms as November 21st. My husband and I by now have spent hundreds of hours on the phone with LG and with Home Depot. It was around this time that we decided we wanted a refund. On one occasion, I asked for a manager (I was getting tired of repeating my story), and twice got cut off. This in one day. I called the tech company myself to schedule a repair. They know who we are by now and I asked them to please escalate! February 2, 2015: The tech comes out and cant fix it. It needs yet another part! We are furious and frustrated and tired of having to reschedule our lives around laundry trips. If Home Depot cannot sell a product for which the manufacturer stands by, then why do they sell it? February 4th. The Home Depot person I have been speaking with finally got me a phone number and a real person at LG. (My notes have at least six different phone numbers.) The LG rep told me she would be sending me an email to which I could upload my service call receipts, and my proof of purchase (they dont have this?). Again, I am spending my time running around for something I paid for. (Had to print it, shrink it, scan it, and make sure it did not exceed the MB limit imposed on me. Of course it did the first time I tried.) This makes no sense. This is not customer service. The woman whose name and number at LG I now covet, said I would receive a confirmation email in 24 hours. I did not. She also said I would receive a decision on my request for a refund in 72 hours. I did not. February 10: I finally gave in and called her back (like I said, hundreds of hours lost on the phone, waiting on hold, pressing buttons, getting disconnected), and my request for a refund was rejected. I have to have one more tech visit (which is currently scheduled for February 16), and then resubmit everything all over again. This is a nightmare!

This dishwasher was bought April 2013 and since we got it, it has smelled. First like something burning then like garage and it still continues to this day. Service men tried to tell us that it was just new, then to use vinegar and open the door when finishing a load. It still smells and we are so sorry we bought the three LG products. Fridge, washer and dishwasher. On the cup I rubbed my thumb and you can see how easy the stain comes off. The bowl needed a little more effort, but it cant clean fresh chocolate pudding from a dish. The washer has a gap where it makes the cloths move that is too big and coins get caught and rips the cloths.

We have not been at all happy with the services which LG is giving us. We have bought an LG Side by Side refrigerator on 22.10.2011. Just a month after, the power capacitor has gone faulty and now there is nobody that can provide service to get this changed. I am sorry, if you cant serve the customer a month after, how can we expect in getting your services a year or after years? The scenario is this that I lodged a complaint against my fridge not working on Friday at10:40 am and your representative confirmed that the complaint will be attended in 24hrs as per their script. Then on Saturday, I called them around 12:30 pm mentioning that I didnt receive any call nor your service. So your representative confirmed that they are sending our request on urgent basis to the service center and we should hear from them in the next 2-3 hrs to which we received a call from your service guy and he came to attend the call. However, he confirmed that the capacitor is not working and this needs to be replaced. We mentioned when we can get this done, to which he confirmed in a days time since they are open on Sunday so he will try to get this fixed. We called him on Sunday. He mentioned this cannot be done today as he hasnt received the part from the company. We were not at all happy from the service and we asked as what is all this about and when it can be done and stuff to which he mentioned to talk to his senior and provided his number. We stated that the Seniors dont answer their phones at all. So we were correct on that, they never handled the complaint. Now when I phoned the service man as to check for the status, he mentioned please speak to the Manager as I am on leave today and I will not be able to help. What is the service? How do you expect your customer to sit quiet in this situation? We have been calling every time and not getting any service. I am sending this complaint in the editorial section of the newspaper against LG and I will ensure that we get the solution from the consumer court. I am from a service industry background and I am sorry to say this is not the work ethics you are following.

Our LG Tromm DLE2516W dryer would not start the second time in 6 months. LG is the only source of repairs. They will not sell parts to anyone but their own approved shops. All bookings are through them. I have a 2007 dryer. LG quoted $95 for a technician to look at it. They designated Priority Appliances to do the work. Priority said they would charge $125.00 to visit and do only 15 minutes work for that price. LG would not honour their quoted price. This means a minimum of $125.00 + parts + installation time + taxes -- the price of a replacement machine. Nobody else can buy parts in Canada. This is a racket to overcharge customers as much as possible.

I have an LG Tromm Washer and Dryer. I have only had it for a few years. As others have complained, the washer has a foul smell due to the mold that grows as a result of the water getting trapped in the rubber door seal (poor design/manufacturer defect). Its not like LG did not know about it. Look at all of the complaints. There is definitely negligence on their part at this point. At the very least, there should have been a label put on the machine that warns you not to use it in a small space, which is unrealistic since most laundry rooms are not large. How come this product has not been recalled due to the health hazard? In addition now, I cant find the reason why the dryer does not make any noise (although it does turn on) and the washer wont even turn on! Maybe this is a blessing in disguise to get rid of these machines. Unfortunately, most people are being duped out of a small fortune to buy them without being fully informed of the health hazard. This may need additional legal action. My child now has respiratory problems/asthma and is on medication daily. I have also developed an adult-onset asthma.

Bought a brand new LG French Door Refrigerator in 2015 from Home Depot and here I am almost 4 years later and it has completely failed. I had the technician from the local LG authorized repair company and he diagnosed that my evaporator has failed and that between parts and labor it will cost somewhere between $1000 and $1200 to fix this LG French Door Refrigerator. What a total pile of crap. I would expect when paying $2200 for a new LG fridge that it would at least last 10 years or more without a major breakdown. So going by the rule of thumb on when to replace or repair a refrigerator since the repair cost is going to be more than half the cost of a new refrigerator I will be replacing this LG piece of crap with a new refrigerator of some other brand. Also I am now so turned off by LG I will never buy any of their products ever again in my lifetime and I will encourage everyone I know to do the same.

I spoke to a supervisor Abigale on 6/9 & spoke to another supervisor Kenisha on 6/10. I have spent $20.00 per day on ice, 29 days... We lost over $925.00 of food. I bought 2 large coolers at $60.00 each just to keep some food in house with buying ice every day. I spent $100.00 for a company to come out to find out what the problem is and what our LG 3 year old product needs. I have spent an entire day home for your so-called repair ppl from TNBS to service our unit on 5-25 no one showed. Wasted an entire day from work and that cost me $850.00. So I’m out of pocket. So I’m out of pocket almost $ 2500.00, how are you going to handle that situation. Plus my wasted time, gas getting ice, on the phone for hours day after day. I’m sure if you ppl at LG had your act together you’d find my information. By the way your employees don’t care and your compressors that you install on the new machines are already 10 years old. Your corporate office and president has no clue on treating clients properly. It’s beyond my comprehension why and how a company of this size survives with this type of attitude. So tell me when I’ll be reimbursed for all the damages? Having my dad on home hospice care made this situation beyond unreasonableOriginal Review: We bought our LG in Oct 2016. Worked fine up until May 15 2020. Compressor stopped. Had independent service person confirm & write report. Cost me $100.00. Called LG for over 3 weeks to get some to repair. Wrote a letter to the President of LG, no response. I have 5 people in our home, including a dad on home hospice care (I even explained that to every person I spoke with. Absolutely Zero customer no service, NOTHING). Finally after 4 weeks (and using 2 large coolers and filling/buying ice EVERYDAY) I called again, finally got through and got an appointment for a week later. Per the tech, LG doesnt care about issues, after the sale you can go pound sand. Typically his route consists of MANY people with fridges not working 3-5 weeks. This is regarding open ticket which has been going on since December. Dryer is still under warranty, it was purchased in August. It does not dry correctly, get flow sense and D80 error message. Per LG request, we serviced our exhaust system and checked all the ventilation and house flaps, duck ductwork etc. Twice. Proof can be provided. All is fine on the house side. Error messages happens even with dryer is not connected to the house, which rules out the house. Its a new construction as well. Triangle Appliances has been working on the dryer since then and replaced everything LG has asked them to. Still not working. As of yesterday, Triangle Appliances deemed it unrepairable per their expertise and written proof of that will be provided. LG refuses to replace it and says there is nothing else they can/want to do regarding repairs. LG is under warranty obligation and refusing service. Please forward this to the right department, for resolution or we will be taking legal action. Also, let me add that the only LG technician available in the area (Durham, NC) was incompetent, not professional, rude to my wife and showed up without parts (he did check they were on back order) and blamed us for it. This is why we ended up working with Triangle Appliances, LG approved, and they have been great.

Absolute nightmare dealing with this company. Our refrigerator quit cooling, common issue we found out. LG sent out repairman they determined it was the compressor, replaced it, still wasn’t working. They sent them out again and it was replaced a second time and still didn’t work. The repairman deemed it unfixable. We were told if it was deemed unfixable we would get reimbursed for the fridge or a new one, they had us email them our sale invoice so they could get us a new fridge. That was a lie. They sent the repairman out again. They had them replace every part in the fridge and guess what it still doesn’t work. Our refrigerator has not worked for 4 months, they have sent their repair company to our house 8 times. That is 8 days of missed work waiting on them to get here and work on the fridge. We have been told by a few of the customer service people on the phone that this case is getting escalated. Well it hasn’t. We have been told that if we were without the fridge 30 days it would get replaced that was a lie, not fixable it would get replaced also a lie. So we call them once again to let them know it isn’t working and now they say they can’t send someone out until January 7th. That’s another month without the damn fridge. We are beyond fed up with the poor customer service and absolute lies we have been told. Do yourself a huge favor and do not buy from this company.

On June 28, 2020 I noticed my fridge was not keeping things cold. I called a refrigerator repair company and it turns out my compressor went bad. I have only had the fridge for 5 yrs and 3 months. I called LG customer service on June 29, 2020, and was told they would replace the part but wouldnt pay for the service. It is going to cost over $600 to have the compressor replaced. I did some additional research and it appears LG has a problem with defective compressors. In fact, there was a lawsuit filed against them for this very reason. I asked to speak to a manager about the repair cost and Vergie refused to transfer me to one. She also would not provide the name of the manager that said they would not cover the repair costs. Its not like I asked for a new fridge, I just want them to pay for a problem they know they have. This will be the last time I purchase a LG product!

I purchased a brand new LG washing machine and dryer approximately 3 years
I purchased a brand new LG washing machine and dryer approximately 3 years ago. I have a family of three - we never do large loads. I have never placed anything other than clothing in it. I do not wash rugs or large blankets or comforters. I have those professionally cleaned. Recently the washing machine began making really loud noises so I called a service technician. He tells the stainless steel basket has somehow become bent. I was told that there is a lifetime warranty on it as it should never bend with normal use. He suggested that it may have been defective to begin with. I called LG service center and was told it was in fact covered but of course they have no LG technicians in my area to install this basket and referred me to their authorized technicians. It will cost over $600 to replace this basket. When I explained to the rep that that cost was near what it would cost to purchase a new washing machine, she said there was nothing they could do. I have owned several homes and several rental properties and I never had a washing machine stop working after 3 years even with the worst tenants using them. I take care of my appliances and I am appalled that after only 3 years of less than average use, their product will cost $600 to repair. I will purchase a new washing machine and will never purchase an LG product again.

Lg seems to have better products than most companies. They look better and have better functionality and for the price they cant be beat. Weve had our LG fridge for 8 years and not 1 problem. We had to special order the size and we couldnt have made a better pick. Its sleek and has plenty of room despite being smaller than the standard fridge. I like the bottom freezer, it has a drawer so it really maximizes the space in the freezer. If I had to change anything it would be on the outside. Because it is a smooth shiny black, fingerprints show badly on it as well as any dirt or food so I constantly have to wipe it down which isnt a dealbreaker for me because Im OCD anyway.

There are multiple accounts on this forum of electrical arcing of the wiring to the warming drawer of various LG range models manufactured around 2007, however I cannot get any resolution through web searches and LGs customer service is non-responsive to my issue. Our range (LG model LSC5622BW) arched out inside the warming drawer cabinet at the electrical connectors to the warming element and burnt the adjacent drawer itself, and didnt trip the circuit breaker. The warming drawer was off at the time and we have never used it/turned it on so it seems rather unsafe that it would be energized to the element and be capable of arching? This was one of the same series of LG electric ranges that had the stove top element controls recall issue, for which we had the motherboard replaced a few years ago. These are not cheap appliances and brings into question the compliance with the applicable electrical safety codes. Anyone know if there is any means of recourse for safety issues with an appliance that are out of warranty?

Purchased an LG LFX 25971 French Door/Freezer on the bottom fridge in Sept.
Purchased an LG LFX 25971 French Door/Freezer on the bottom fridge in Sept. 08 from PC Richard. Am I glad they convinced me into a 10 extended warranty. 6 months after, LG notifies me, because the Consumer Energy Report was found to be off by the Government. They needed to give me a refund check of like $30.00 and a yearly check of about $8.00 for 10 years. That was just the beginning. So far I had to call for service 2 times for the internal LED light panel blew, 1 time for the ice maker, twice for water puddling and freezing in the bottom of my freezer and then running out onto my floor. Now I have to call again for the water in the freezer. The only good thing is PC RICHARD has been honoring their warranty no problem.
