I purchased an LG dishwasher model ldt7797st at JCPenney. Im in my sixties and have dishwashers for many years. This is without a doubt the worst dishwasher I have ever had. It cant clean a coffee ring from inside a coffee cup. Its totally useless. I called a repairman through LG. It was probably one of the most knowledgeable repairman Ive had here. He told me I was doing everything correctly. Checked out the dishwasher and said it was operating perfectly. What a waste.

1st, the dishwasher was installed incorrectly and when I would open it, the whole dishwasher fall forward. 2nd, the basket that holds the flatware broke into two pieces.3rd, now all the wheels on the upper baskets have fallen off. What is the deal with this LEMON!!!!! I did not want this POS but to please my husband, we bought it. It has really shown us that I was right to begin with. I will never recommend this dishwasher to anyone. This was a Direct Drive #309-1879, never ever get one. Its so far down that it touches the floor so it gives everyone a backache on top of everything else!!! Sincerely yours, Miriam

LG is making it very difficult for me to get anything done. My top loader has rust all around the bleach cup and the underside or seam where top meets the bottom panels. I see other people have this issue too!! I have never in all my life seen a washing machine get rust like this. Not to mention there was a recall on it with a Do Not Sell order attached that I was never informed about. I feel they should either take the machine back and replace or refund our money!!! I am waiting on a response after sending pictures and a proof of purchase to them via email. I registered the machine when I bought it, so they would have my info, yet I still have to prove to them I bought it!!! Go figure???!!!

I think LG refrigerator owners who are experiencing repeated compressor problems should file a Class Action Lawsuit against LG for a full original purchase price refund and subsequent repair and warranty plan costs incurred for inferior product design and manufacture. Our LG French Door Refrigerator Model LMXX30776S/01 is also experiencing compressor failures. Purchased in February, 2015, the original compressor was replaced in September, 2016. Now, August, 2017 that compressor is also failing. Temperatures continue dropping in the refrigerator, freezer, and mid drawer sections even though I continue lowering the temperature set points. The ice maker is also producing small cubes at a very slow pace, and they begin melting and forming refrigerator icebergs. My wife purchased the Warrantech Extended Warranty through hhgregg. Recently Wil, the LG repair tech from Fredericksburg, VA, was at my home to service the unit. He measured temperatures, low and high side line pressures, and voltage. He cleaned some dust from the back of the refrigerator and left. He said he could not stay and further monitor the unit because it went into the defrost cycle. He told me to call him after a day or two to let him know if I was still having problems. I called and left a message on his phone. I have not received a return phone call. The temperatures continue to drop. Refrigerator performance continues to deteriorate, and $3,000.00+ has been wasted on a extremely poor product.

I agree with the majority of the people regarding LG fridge. I purchased an expensive counter depth fridge 5 years and 7 months ago and it completely broke down. Not the compressor but a leakage within the wall of the fridge so it cannot be repaired. I paid $125 to the LG technician to come and inspect to tell me that it cannot be repaired and that I should get a new fridge. The technician also let me know that the leakage was a manufacturing issue not wear and tear. I am aware of the LG settlement and was shy of 7 months to claim anything. LG refuses to do anything about it. So basically all their products are useless. I will never purchase another LG product and will make sure that everyone I know do the same. Worse service and company. They knew about the defects but did nothing. Where is the accountability???

After several months of intermittent stopping and then working, and several visits by various repair people, Sears finally eliminated the problem by replacing the electronic board (at a cost of $35 plus labor). The washer has been working perfectly for 6 months. I wished that someone could have told me this when I was experiencing the problem.

Purchased this washer (WT1101CW) January 2014. Its been two years of rebalancing accompanied with numerous draining and refills as this machine struggles to complete a load. Have had a technician visit us three times and he made sure the machine is level, has a new board with updated firmware and still we have problems. Even more telling is the fact that a tub clean cycle (water only) cannot finish without the machine stopping to display UE. Ive given up. For a quick wash our neighbors have let us use their washing machine. In the meantime my solution is unfortunately to move to a different brand of washing machine.

Hoping someone else will read this (and the feedback from countless other discontented LG customers) before buying an LG product. We remodeled our kitchen two years ago and bought all new appliances, including one of LGs expensive refrigerators - model LXFS30726S. About two weeks ago the unit stopped cooling and we called LG to have it repaired (parts are covered under warranty after year 1, labor is not). A repairman came out four days later and deduced that we needed a new compressor and three other parts to fix it. Ordered them and gave us an ETA of one week to be back and have the repair completed. We had to text him on the day it was supposed to be fixed to find out that the part wasnt in yet. Called LG and was told by the hard to understand customer service rep that the parts had shipped and would be in the next day. That didnt prove to be true.Called again two days later and got the Escalation department (which apparently means the excuses keep escalating but the customer service quality does not). At least I could understand this representative, who called the repairman while she put me on hold and said she had confirmed with the repairman (he also works for LG) that the parts were in and hed be out in a week to fix it. We called the repairman because hed said he would be out as soon as the parts were in and we didnt want to wait another week - we have already been without a refrigerator for two weeks and he said the parts were not in and that he hadnt told the customer service rep hed be out the following Monday. So, basically LGs customer service representative lied to me just to get me off the phone. It is sad that such a large corporation cannot get its act together and is acting so shady in dealing with its customers. Im hoping that eventually we have a working refrigerator but not holding my breath at this point. This is apparently an epidemic with LG. Do yourself a huge favor and buy a different brand of refrigerator - we sure wish we had at this point.

I have contacted LG customer service numerous times, it is still under manufacturer warranty however they have been unable to find a technician that will service our rural area, 4 referrals and no service. They assure me they will find someone to do repairs however it is nearing a month without proper working condition of refrigerator. Poor customer service, poor quality of product. Purchased a Front Load washer less than 3 years ago and it will not power on. Paid an electrician to come and verify that the outlet was getting power even though the same outlet powered other devices (Im thorough). Unplugged the device for a while then plugged it back in. It powered on then went right back off. Called LG support and she had me spin the drum, trip the breaker again, unplug it then plug it back up. Asked if it was purchased over a year ago and when I said yes I was pushed off to a retailer that supports their product at my own expense of course. I told her that its sad that others are having issues with the washers and that you pawn them off once the year warranty is up. The high reviews that are online need to removed or at least state the constant issues with the machine. Spending over $1000 on a washer that doesnt perform up to par and becomes useless in 2-3 years should have some type of recall for manufacturing defects!

This brand is well known all over the world and its reliable, safe and will last a long time. It has an amazing and modern design and everyone would be happy to have such product at home. It has everything I was looking for in a refrigerator and the price was within my budget. The color matches my other appliances and its easy to clean. I like the water filter that comes with it because makes so convenient and easy for my entire family to drink clean and purified water. I only wished it was more affordable. Everything else about it makes me happy and Im so glad I selected this specific model and brand. I have no regrets. This brand has met my expectations and I would recommend it to all of my friends and family members.

I bought a LG washer dryer set in 2007. The washer broke down, had to be repaired and the dryer. The washer never fully drained the tub. Then one lovely day... It burst the door open and flooded my house causing $7,000 worth the damage!!! The mechanism to stop the water failed and it dumped what I can describe is 15 bathtubs full of water in my house. It leaked into my basement and damaged wood floors. If you have one, get rid of it now! This also happened to a acquaintance I have as well. Currently in the process of replacing carpet, underlay, kitchen flooring and cutting into walls to repair the damage. This company and their products are evil! I bought a Maytag yesterday to replace the ignorant machine.

After 4 years of no issues with our LG refrigerator, it died one day after we hosted our daughters bridal shower. Needless to say, we lost all the food. Called a repairman, came out and informed us it was the compressor and it was under warranty. He also warned us that LG has been having issues with the compressors. We called LG and they told us that their repair service (through A&E) couldnt come out until 2 weeks later. I waited ALL day and no one ever came. We received a call and email to call back the next day to reschedule. Naturally I assumed they would come asap. Well to my dismay, they couldnt come out until 2 WEEKS later. Are you kidding me!! We had been without a fridge all this time and they expect you to wait even longer and its their negligence! We were so frustrated and disgusted we just gave up and bought a new refrigerator, a Frigidaire, since it seems price doesnt guarantee it will last!

We purchased an LG Fridge for our condo in 2007. We had a problem with it in September 2014. Because it is at our condo out of town there is no LG repair staff anywhere near. The local repair companies are not allowed to purchase parts and in spite of it being off warranty my own attempts to purchase the parts myself were denied. My only option was bring it into the city to have it repaired. I ended up buying a brand new fridge that was definitely not LG but was a brand that is locally serviced. Based on this poor service experience I would highly recommend against ever making any type of LG purchases.

I wrote a review earlier about how the burner on the stove turns on if you brush up against the knobs. It does this without you even being aware and the next thing you know the ** house is burning down. This happened 3 different times and luckily I was still in the house when this happened. One time I was getting ready for work and had my dinner packed in a nylon bag and just before I left for work I heard something sizzling in the kitchen and the whole ** bag was on fire. Not happy about this ** at all. Anyway I left one of these reviews earlier asking for advice on what I could do about the situation since LG does not give a ** about these problems according to other reviews. But since my last review a couple of hours ago I went to church and then came home to cook dinner and I realized the only solution to my problem with this hazardous ** stove that cost about $1,700 if you pay full price is to remove the knobs and keep them off at all times and only use them while you are cooking. I now keep them in a bowl on top of the stove and my mind will be at ease especially when I’m not at home. In one review the ** dog turned the stove on while the people were away. LG gives not one ** about this problem. I hope this helps someone else who is at wits end. Good luck.

Been over 2 months since 7-month-old LG refrigerator, French Door Model No. LFXC24726S (over $3,000), broke down destroying all contents. Contacted LG support May 11, 2015. After more than 2 hours on phone, finally convinced non-English speaking L.G. employee that we had serious problem and needed service. L.G. told me it was my fault because I didnt know how to close the freezer door!L.G. warranty repairman, a good quality & well-run company, determined a bad compressor. A 2nd employee at L.G.s authorized warranty contractor said that given the nature of the problem, they were going to ask for a replacement refrigerator. L.G. denied the request for a new refrigerator & repairman visited again (2 weeks to receive ordered compressor) and replaced the compressor. The replacement compressor functioned for about 1 week and then completely broke down again. Warranty repairman visited for 3rd time to determine 2nd compressor problem. Diagnosis was a bad replacement compressor plus a computer board needed to be replaced. Parts were again ordered & then a 4th visit from the repairman. When he returned to install, he spoke with a L.G. technician on the phone who would not allow the new parts to be installed unless the repairman completed a special test. The warranty company did not have the required equipment to do what L.G. requested, so he was not permitted by L.G. to install the 2nd new compressor or the computer board. The suggestion was made that we start all over with a new L.G. warranty contractor. The original contractor will attempt to see if his management will acquire the required equipment. We have now been without a refrigerator for over 2 months & had 4 repairman visits. The authorized service and the retailer who sold us the refrigerator have made multiple requests for a new refrigerator to replace this LEMON... always the same answer: NO, not warranted. L.G. will never honor its warranty. They are not a reputable company. Whomever reads this review, NEVER ever buy any L.G. product. If you do, you will be very unhappy.UPDATE: Monday, 7-13-15 at 8:41 a.m. - J & M Appliance repair called to cancel our 7-14-15 appt. between 8:00 & 11:00 a.m. (5th visit). Calling to cancel the appt. for tomorrow in reference to L.G. refrigerator. I do have a note here from my senior tech. He is advising that you contact L.G. and have them send out a different (authorized) service provider. The reason being is L.G. does not want to supply us the Micron gauge for the units. So at this point, we will not be there on Tuesday between 8 & 11. And again, you can contact L.G. at 1-800-000-000 and have them send out a different company for your repair. Thank you. We have been trying to get Warranty repair from L.G. for over 2 months and now we have to start all over!!! Words fail me...

It was a beautiful range in the store however, once it was in my home, the hell began. I purchased the LRE3075 stainless steel convection range at the Boynton Beach Home Depot on November 12, 2009 and got the extended warranty.Eight months in, the front large burner melted then began melting the underside of the cook top. I got it replaced under LG warranty. Another 6 months in, the same thing happened again, only this time the burner was on and could not be turned off. I had to plug the range out for it to go off. The top and the circuit board were replaced. On February 12, 2012, the same exact burner came on by itself destroying dinner. The saving grace was the smoke detector. Once again, the control panel did not respond. I had to turn of the breaker to the stove.Even after the stove cooled down and the breaker was turned on, the control panel did not respond. I am totally scared for my familys safety with this stove. It finally responded after several attempts. I have to turn off the breaker after each use just as a precaution. What about the warranty, you ask? Talk about the royal runaround. LG denies there is a problem with the stove and wont replace the it. Home Depot wont take it back since LG should be the one who covers it.The extended warranty company will only replace the circuit board but the glass top is at LG s discretion. Today is March 15, 2012 and the stove still has not been repaired as yet even with the extended warranty. The LG dishwasher purchased at the same time has had the motor replaced because it burnt out. I would not recommend any LG product my worst enemy. I will be purchasing new stove ASAP. Needless to say, it will not be LG.

We purchased the LG refrigerator in September of 2016. In July of 2018. The LG failed to cool intermittently. Over the course of a week, service was sent and could not find a problem. The issue appeared to resolve spontaneously. Exactly a year later we are having the same problem. We have completed the ridiculous instructions to unplug the power for 2 hours, then wait 24-48 hours to see if cools. We can expect service in 10 days. This is unacceptable, LG knows of the poor performance of this refrigerator and has failed to take appropriate action to resolve the problems in a timely manner.

This is a beautiful, very large washer. Had great reviews and ratings in consumer magazines, etc. For 10 months or so it functioned well, handling large quantities of laundry, including towels and bedding. Then nearing the 1 year mark, the UE symbol, meaning it cant spin out the water from your clothing was a regular occurrence. I was told to use the tub clean cycle. It may have helped it balance for a few uneventful loads. But it was short lived. If you like standing over the top of a washer watching to see if it will spin, etc., but seeing it add 20 or more minutes over and over, then this is the one for you. A big disappointment.Updated on 1/23/2017: Whenever I have called LG about the frequent (Out of balance) issue they always say run the tub clean cycle, which I suppose tries to re-balance or reset without any clothes in it. It even get off balance empty!! Why does this washer get such good reviews in consumer reports, etc.

We called LG to repair a refrigerator that was under warranty. The compressor to the refrigerator is not working (diagnosed by an appliance service that we originally called to repair). I waited on the phone for 35 minutes before someone was able to address the situation. After another 20 minutes I was informed that they only have one service provider in Washington DC and it would be 7 (yes seven!) days for the next appointment. My husband attempted to call again to follow up and was on hold for one hour and 30 minutes (Geisha informed him that he would be transferred to the Executive team) to determine if we could get an earlier appointment or perhaps hire someone else to fix the refrigerator and be reimbursed by LG.This has to be the most incompetent customer service I have ever encountered. They are incapable of answering the phone, make you wait hours to transfer you to different departments, and then make you wait weeks to have your appliance fixed. I will never buy another LG appliance - their customer service and repair service is terrible. Buy another brand, and make sure you ask about the warranty repair timeline - LG apparently thinks a week or more is acceptable. Take your business elsewhere - this company is horrible.

Our LG Tromm Washer Machine has a rectangular area with a lid and this is where you pour your detergent. It collects black mold constantly and only part of it comes out to clean. That part being a small piece which holds the softener and bleach. I even keep it open at all times so air can hit it and it still gets quite moldy. Also, it needs to be drained every now and then as well at bottom of machine. Dryer DOES NOT dry loads at all. DLEX3470W - Steam Fresh stopped working. Called LG - this unit less than two years old. They say no warranty. Called repair service tech. Showed me voltage going from ecb to heater when power switch on, dryer turned off, and panel breaker on, to steam heater and steam heater burnt open. So ecb and heater bad. Major safety issue. Unit off and power going to heater from ecb when off - fire hazard. Cost of repair $461.57. Dryer cost $900.00 hum. Dryer is unsafe. Also serviceman trying to get part price while here got no help from LG. There are no safety circuits to protect unit from failures like I had. Board fails, burns out more devices. Cost of ownership in a little over a year $1500.00, plus not a good value.

We bought a home with a new LG side-by-side refrigerator already installed. We have been in the house for 4 years and have had a service call on the refrigerator freezer at least 5 times. 1. The fan motor went bad, so the compressor shut down, causing food to defrost. 2. Water would not flow from the dispenser or to the ice maker. One of the solenoids was bad. 3. The ice cube tray that makes the ice was warped, so the water would overflow into the ice bin and freeze all the ice together. Apparently, the heater for the tray causes the tray to warp over time.4. The hose in the back that supplies water to the icemaker developed a leak and soaked our floors. This was repaired and it re-occurred multiple times. This issue is so common with LG that there is a procedure on YouTube on how to replace and repair the hose. I have owned refrigerators for 20 years with no problems. I believe LG definitely has a quality problem, so buy at your own risk.

Purchased LG fridge model LFXC24726DLFXC24726D in July 2016. The FIRST FAILURE happened in July 2018. Ive had 10 appointments with LGs repair facility, and 7 have been cancelled by them. My fridge has been repaired 3 times, and STILL doesnt work properly. Ive lost food, been left without a fridge, and am flabbergasted that any company would let known defects off the factory floor, let alone ship them to consumers. It is criminal to sell these defective fridges and rely on repair techs to get the fridge to work...especially since their repair facility has such a lousy record of keeping appointments. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT.

I purchased a LG washer and dryer about 6 weeks ago and is now a huge regret. Whoever designed these appliances has never done laundry. The most frustrating W/D I have ever purchased with the stupid bells, whistles and lights. Most of the different programs are useless and not practical. Theres a thumping noise in the dryer when the drum is turning, not suppose to be there but as long as the drum is turning no one will consider it a problem, I will NEVER purchase another LG product again and I suggest you do the same.

My refrigerator is 5 years old (LFX28978ST/02). Purchased with every appliance as we were moving into a new home. Already went through one issue shortly after purchasing the fridge with the ice maker. They made it right, but the LG certified technicians had to come back multiple times because they really didnt know what they were doing. Now the latest adventure. Compressor went about a month and a half ago. Turns out the compressor has a 10 year warranty. Great, right? Not so much. Getting this problem resolved has been an absolute nightmare. After doing what they wanted me to (having a repairman come out), I found out labor was not included on the compressor. Fine. I found a very reputable company to inspect and agree to do the repair. Unfortunately, its a half a days work so talking $300-$400 just for labor. Decided to have it fixed rather than buy a new fridge.1st call - said I would have a response in 24 hours. 2nd call - said no, timing to hear something back is 24-48 hours. 3rd call - said no, timing is 3 days. 4th call - said no, timing is 3-5 days. I verified if the 5th day was guaranteed (in this case Friday). 5th call - said no, the day I called didnt count so need to wait until Monday. 6th call - show they called my repairman the day I called. (This would prove to be a trend-lies). 7th call - they called and left a VM to my repairman but left a wrong number to call back. Called back to get the number myself. They didnt have the number. They called my repairman (I dont know why - the customer service rep had no info for us) and he told them the same thing. Put in a request on his computer for service center to call my repairman back. 8th call - said they showed they sent out an e-mail with the info to my repairman (they did not).9th call - my repair man was on vacation so could not confirm anything until he returned. Heard nothing. Supposedly putting in their system to call him again. Nothing. 10th call - immediately asked for a supervisor. Transferred me to someone in the states (Huntsville, AL). She told me the other calls go to the Philippines and that the computer showed someone calling him the day I lodged the complaint (lie). Also told me my previous Confirmation/ID# (or whatever they call it) had been closed. Great! She opened a new number. This was Thursday the 17th. Told me my repairman would hear something in 5 business days and there was no way to expedite because there were so many people in front of me. Thursday should count as day one since I called in the morning. Nothing.11th call - Called back on Friday the 25th. Asked for a supervisor. This time did not get transferred to the states.I assume still the Philippines. Told me the computer showed they called my repair man the day I called the last supervisor. (At this point, I feel like they do this in their system in case they get sued so they can say... Look, we called him. He didnt answer. All lies) Promised someone would call my repair man in 30 minutes and an e-mail would follow. Nothing. 12th call - Called Monday the 28th (today). Again asked for a supervisor. Again, Philippines. Joe promised he would have my issue resolved and would not leave until it was. After missing 41 minutes of work, hung up on me. I guess the moral is, dont buy an LG anything! My stoves electronics are also starting to fail as well. They want you to give in so they dont have to ship a compressor that will probably fail again anyway, but Im not giving up. Back to the phone...

In 2012 LG issued a recall on a series of ranges due to a major safety issue many consumers experienced with faulty burners. The recall was issued in the first place to have the burners replaced BEFORE there was a fire or injury. However, I just discovered the recall yesterday, and after finding that our stove was subject to it, called LG today to schedule an appointment for repair. What I encountered instead was a stonewalling by the CSRs. I disclosed to them that we had not experienced any issues with the burners, but that as a precaution, we would like to have the repair affected. The CSRs were adamant that unless we had experienced a safety issue, they were not authorized to schedule an appointment. I then insisted that they schedule an appointment anyway, and that I would deal with the tech as to whether the repair was qualified under the recall.I was then finally transferred to another CSR to schedule the appointment. I had to once again go through my reasons for seeking to have the repair done, and since this CSR had internet access, I pointed her to http://www.lgelectricrangerecall.com/faq.php (The first CSR did not have access to this site). At q.3 of the faq, LG itself states that if you have not experienced these problems, you may still use your electric range, but you must still schedule a free in-home repair. Prior to reading this direction on their own website, the CSR was adamant that in order for her to schedule a repair, as a prerequisite, the consumer must be experiencing a problem with the burners. However, after reading it, she then consulted with her manager. After several minutes, the CSR came back on the line to schedule the repair. After I inquired as to what the manager said, she advised that as the direction conflicts with LGs policies, they would be removing the page from the website. I find this to be quite alarming, especially in view of the fact that at least 80 dangerous situations of the burner reaching extremely high temperatures, or not turning off, had been reported and are known to LG, and that over 161,000 ranges had been recalled. As they will be taking the page down soon, if you are interested in following up on this as a possible story, it would be prudent to visit it soon.

I have several LG appliances and TVs. Never a problem until my French door refrigerator stopped working. 3 certified LG repairmen came out replacing the compressor and it still does not work. Day 26, fridge held hostage. Now I’m being told I have to wait another 8 days before someone comes out again. That’s 34 days with no refrigerator. My extended warranty is 5 years, and states reimbursement after 3 failed repairs. They now want to run external lines on the back wall and drilling through the sealed wall. Totally unacceptable. Waiting 8 days between technician visits is a wait them out plan that seems to be working. Will never buy another LG! Will spread the word to everyone.

I purchased an LG Washing machine with the pedestal back in April of 2010 for $1,309.95 from P.C. Richards. After 3-years and 4-months, my machine stopped spinning and had a loud squeaking noise. I paid about $400.00 in repairs at that time for a power cord and the computer control panel which completely burnt out. After the P.C. Richards Repair Man left, I washed exactly 2-loads of clothes before the washer stopped spinning and I had to call the Repair man back from P.C. Richards to find out what the problem was. Well after the 4th visit from P.C. Richards Repair Men, I was told that a Ball Barren was missing and it would be a very expensive job to do. With that being said, I went for a second opinion and was told that was indeed the problem which would cost me $500.00 to repair. You know when people purchase expensive appliances like washers and dryers from Manufacturers like LG, they expect the product to last at least 10 to 15 years. I am deeply disgusted and appalled. What can I do to seek punitive damages? I am a working mother of 3 and am at a hardship to make ends meet and cannot afford a new washer right now which I was told by the repairman I should purchase a new machine. In TEARS, can someone help me please?

I too have had the exact same problems that Karen of Fort Wright posted on Oct. 22, 2012. I also bought my LG French door refrigerator 3 1/2 years ago from Sears. I was planning to purchase a Kenmore, but i would have to wait almost 2 weeks which I couldnt do. The salesman talked me into getting the LG model (August 2009). After 14 months of use, the fridge stopped working (October 2010)! I didnt purchase the extended warranty (never have found them worth paying for as I have never needed to use one). Needless to say, I contacted Sears for repair. The repairman diagnosed a blown fuse, which meant replacing the circuit board also. Repair was approximately $300.00 in all. The fridge has been working fine until yesterday, Dec. 21, 2012! Of course because it is only 5 days before Christmas, we were fully stocked up and expecting a houseful of company on the 25th! We had to empty everything out! Run all of this food out to the garage, wipe the fridge down so it doesnt smell and hope the authorized repairman can stop by sometime Christmas eve. He is only working a half day, but I will try to make it. Talk about pressure! This is just terrible, terrible timing. A terrible waste of money and a terrible product! Save your self the headache and do not purchase LG! Not only expensive to repair (with or without the warranty), but extremely frustrating!

My home warranty company TotalProtect Home Warranty (Cross Country Home Services) came out to repair our washer. They discovered an LG Recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and refused to make repairs because it was under recall. So, LG was responsible for repairing it. The recall stated the washer becomes unbalanced and causes personal injury and property damage. Luckily my washer just broke. It has been 3 months and multiple LG repair companies later and LG has not repaired our washer. Every LG service company that we called or came out to make repairs claims they cant repair it, LG did not authorize repairs, or the recall did not cause the damage. LGs customer service (800-243-0000) promised they would make repairs and they gave me a CNM # and APM # that supposedly authorized the repairs. I even filed an ethics complaint with LGs company HQ. I heard nothing back. The recalled washer is product number WT5101HV. LG gives you the runaround and frustrates you so you give up.

I purchased an over the range LG microwave from Home Depot. It was a reduced price display model, which I guess should have told me that it was a waste of money. Within a year, it stopped working four times (two of these times were within two days of each other). Since it was covered by the one year warranty, it didnt cost me anything, but it was frustrating to be without a microwave while waiting for it to be serviced. THEN... after the warranty expired, it stopped heating on two more occasions. Now, LG state that it would be $160 to have a technician come out to diagnose the problem.I think a microwave that needs servicing six times in such a short period should have been replaced, but LG thinks I should just start paying the $160 per call out for the same, reoccurring problem. I spoke to a supervisor at headquarters who was very unhelpful and told me that the company should not have helped me as much as they did because it was a display model and its history was unknown. She was very combative and arrogant and probably doesnt even realize that she lacks even basic customer services skills and is in need of training. My only consolation is that she is a consumer too, and the same way she treated me, she will be treated at some point in her life. Further, I know now not to purchase another LG product. Hopefully I can save someone else from wasting their money on LG products like I did.

Purchased an LG refrigerator appx 4 years ago. Stopped working, not cooking. Called numerous repair providers to see if they can fix. Nobody I can find would look at LG product. Called LG directly to see if they can find someone that I can call. Ended up purchasing an out of warranty contract through LG called Assurant. For 2 months now I have had a non-working refrigerator. I have had numerous providers get scheduled to come to my home only for them to not show leaving me having to keep calling Assurant. I was advised by Assurant that it is from LG that they get the list of service providers so they have no way of knowing anything about them except the location to my home. Finally 2 months later and 3 service providers I was informed that my refrigerator was going to cost too much for LG to repair and they would total it out. The coolant system was shot along with the compressor. When you call to check the status of getting this taken care of I am told that they do not have anyone certified to fix the coolant system. But I was granted permission to find my own service provider to come out and fix it but the catch... not only would I have to pay out of pocket, while the provider was at my home I had to call Assurant and have the provider speak to them in order for them to reimburse me for services. I said that was unacceptable. A supervisor informed me that since the refrigerator is less than 7 years old and its the sealant system, LG would be responsible for replacing it.Again, I get on the phone with LG to file a claim for a defected item. After 4 days of not hearing anything I called today Only to be told by 2 supervisors that they cant do anything. I was given the option to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed but they denied my claim to have it replaced. Didnt matter what I said, the customer service at LG has the most disrespectful people.I am not in a position to pay $1200 out of pocket to try and get reimbursed and all they can say was, I cant help you. They do not want to acknowledge the fact that their product is defected and the sealant/coolant system is not working. They can provide names to me but wont pay for it because under my contract that they sold me, nobody is certified to do the work. So how am I supposed to have this fixed?? I have 3 kids and my husband needs to keep his medication refrigerated. So for 2 months after purchasing a contract, I have been keeping food cold in a cooler with ice. Totally unacceptable. All LG can say is sorry I do apologize . After just speaking to one of ten supervisors at LG, and stating that I will be contacting the better business bureau and consumer affairs she said, Go ahead, do what you want. Like I need her permission? No I need them to stand behind their product which they do not. So now I am told I can cancel my contract in writing and since they cant help me, they will refund all of $100 of the amount I paid. Still leaves me with no refrigerator and nobody at LG willing or able to look at something that is defected unless I choose to pay out of pocket. Absolutely absurd. This company is the worst. I am so sorry I ever purchased a product from them and whats even worse is the horrible customer service.

Never mind that our Frigidaire that we keep in the garage goes through winter and summer cycles without complaint and cost about 1/4 of what this one did. Ok, my bad. My LG TROMM gas dryer I bought 2005, just burned up last night. It was a fire that started where the gas line connector is. The dryer had only been running for about 20-30 minutes. Luckily, I happened to go into the laundry room and stop it! We could have lost everything. Also, the dryer never worked very well. It took 90 minutes to dry a regular load of towels.

Words can not describe the joy I have when I use and even more appropriately when I clean up after my husband cooks. I never liked or would even consider electric cooking before, but this is an absolute dream. A pot boils over? No problem. Use a rag and wipe it up even when the pot is still cooking, it lowers the heat the minute you turn down the temperature and if you pick up the pan and walk away, the burner shuts itself off. I have considered an electric oven before but with the convection and induction features, I feel like I have died and gone to the great kitchen in the sky. I know that sounds a little extreme but after dealing with a messy stove top & an oven that I have to get down on my hands & knees to clean, this is really a God-send.I also got a great deal on my appliance from eBay. Even had a manufactures warranty. LG has been our go to brand for T.V.s, fridge and now my kitchen. The only draw back is trying to find pans that dont cost a fortune and are of good quality, also someone that can tell me why my cast iron griddle cracked in half when I tried to heat it up to cook a steak. Not a major problem. Just would like some answers.

I bought an LG washer/Dryer July this year (2015). The water pump sprang a leak. Went online and submitted for repair. Got a local appliance place to fix it. Talked to rep from local shop, said they couldnt get LG parts to answer or return call for 2 days. At this point I havent had a washing machine for 6 days. I called LG rep to contact local rep and get this taken care of. If LG does get it shipped by tomorrow, Friday fall on a holiday. Local dealer wont get the part until next Monday the 4th of Jan. 2016. This will be going on 2 weeks without a washer. This is unreasonable to me. I went with an LG product because of the Quality and support that I havent received as of yet. I would hope that a senior representative would read this. Unsatisfied Customer!

Lg tends to make really good electronics. I like that the lg refrigerator is really good and high quality and they tend to last a relatively long period of time and i never really had a problem with them. I like that the smart black lg refrigerators tend to have a lot of room in the freezer section. I tend to always like that lg has a large main design. But they often tend to charge alot for their refrigerators and also they charge alot for there ovens, and they charge alot for there cellphones. It also causes a higher energy bill. Its sometimes hard to bring it into the house. But thats fine. At the end of the year i do intend to buy one more refrigerator. It is make alot better than other companies.

I bought my LG French Door Refrigerator in December of 2014. It cost over $3000 and I was told by the salesman at Home Depot how GREAT the linear Compressor is. I noticed on Sunday that the ice was melted and the temperature was rising. I found my LG information and called Customer service. I was told the earliest they could come out was 4 days later. They also told me that he could not uninstall the fridge. It had to be moved out of its slot so he could access it, and it had to be unplugged. I was also told that the compressor was under warranty, but the replacement would be 375-425 PLUS state tax. Well, after 4 days, I had to throw away all the food that was inside. Probably another $200/300. The guy came out and told me that he would order the parts, but my cell service was bad so he couldnt tell me if they even had the compressor in stock. He told me they would come out the next day, unless the part isnt available. Which, reading the forum, looks like its 5 weeks out. Terrible product. The Sad thing is, that Im a Realtor. I have caused at least 5 or 6 clients and friends to buy an LG fridge because, the compressor has a 10 year warranty... as if that does any good. Im a single Mom, and I feel like I have to earn my money twice. Once to kill it and bring it home, and again to make sure it doesnt fly out the window. Im angry, Frustrated, and defeated.

I bought the washer and dryer three years ago. Six months after the purchase the hot water stopped going into the washer so I just washed with cold. I had two techs check out this machine. One couldnt figure out what was wrong and the second told me I need a whole control panel. That was to the tune of $400.00 plus service call. Now you are wondering why I didnt get this cared for during the first six months. Well I had brain surgery and even had to learn to walk again so that washer was not my priority at that time. Guess Ill continue with cold water. Never again!!!

Purchased a LG front load washing machine that has been leaking water for the past 4 months. Machine is still under warranty: 3 different service technicians visited home over 5 times and have been unable to repair the machine. The technicians initially claimed we were using too much detergent, till the last technician found a crack in the discharge hose and replaced it. Unfortunately, that wasnt the only problem as the machine is still leaking, but now worse than before. And now the leak is so bad, it resulted in water damage to our new construction home. Not only that, but the once quiet machine now sounds worse than before and the technician scratched up our unit.I informed LG again but still no result. From the very beginning, I pleaded with them to send a different service company to our home, but LG refused. I talked to customer service reps and even folks in their executive services department to no avail. After the first few visits, I began to ask for LG to replace the unit, again LG refused. After the leak caused water damage, I asked again for LG to replace the unit, but again LG refused. The machine is still under warranty, the service technicians have been unable to repair the unit, but LG still refuses to replace it even though the terms of the warranty indicate that replacement is an option.

I will never buy LG again or if their parts are used in another brand. Ill make sure to do my research on my next purchase. Hundreds of dollars lost in food each time. This is ridiculous! I bought the washer in June of 2013 and had issues right away. It would never put in enough water to get the clothes clean. My husband works with cattle and his clothes get dirty. After the Heavy Duty cycle, the clothes would come out with mud. Always have to use the Bulky/Bedding cycle. Machine would freeze up and finally wouldnt reset. They replaced the control board and found a wire that was never installed correctly so sometimes it would connect and sometimes not. Now just this month it would constantly be uneven and finally froze up. It was the main part under the drum that controls the machine that went out. Only 2 years old and this is the machine I am stuck with. Thankfully I bought a 5 year extended warranty with it. Once that is up, I will not buy another. Cycles take forever. You get the UE Uneven Code a lot with towels. It is not water efficient when it will constantly refill to make it even, spin and do it over again because it is still uneven.

I liked the water filter and dispenser inside the refrigerator and the spacious shelving that was easy to clean - made of clear plastic not barred plastic. Bought my LG counter depth refrigerator just over two years ago. I loved this refrigerator! I loved the style, the many features and it worked well until a week ago. It was only after I was researching the possible causes of the failure did I learn of the problems with the compressors. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. To learn that LG does not honour the warranty on refrigerators outside USA/Canada made me angry since they wouldn’t even sell me the replacement compressor. What a shame! LG can do better and should do better. It sells its products worldwide. Customers all over the world love and buy LG products and are having problems with their refrigerator compressors. We have an LG TV and it was a decent TV so when we decided to buy a new refrigerator, we looked at Costco and decided that LG was what we wanted to go with. I purchased it with Amazon and purchasing from them is always good so I had no problems there. But the quality of the refrigerator itself is bad. It was faulty and broken. I returned it immediately. I did not wanna risk the same thing because the repair guy who came out from A&E said that even though that wasn’t the problem with most LG refrigerators, the compression unit was definitely something that went out within the first 18 months. The repair guy would actually recommend GE over LG any day of the week. And customer service was terrible as well. I had several issues, especially since the LG product leaked water uncontrollably out of the ice compartment. There was nothing that we were pushing either. It was just dripping. We ended up having some water damage to our wood floors and Im still trying to get LG to pay for that. It’s been over a month.

All bookings are through them. I have a 2007 dryer. LG quoted $95 for a technician to look at it. They designated Priority Appliances to do the work. Priority said they would charge $125.00 to visit and do only 15 minutes work for that price. LG would not honour their quoted price. This means a minimum of $125.00 + parts + installation time + taxes -- the price of a replacement machine. Nobody else can buy parts in Canada. This is a racket to overcharge customers as much as possible.

LG arranged to have an authorized repairman to come out. The appointment was confirmed with the ApplianceMan in Westerville, Ohio for Thursday, August 29th between 1-5p. NEVER SHOWED!!!! When I contacted them Fri. am, was told they lost my appt. Our fridge broke after 5 months. We had the repairman at our house 4 times over 6 weeks and fridge still was not fixed. Many different customer service reps told me they would put it my request for a new fridge but it would be denied and they were unable to help me. After asking for a manager, I was put on hold for 45 min and then disconnected, this happened 3 times and no one called me back. We were also promised the max amount for food spoilage and after finally agreeing to give us money back for our fridge, LG told us we no longer qualified for the food reimbursement so we lost hundreds of dollars worth of food (over the course of fridge braking 4 times). This was the worst customer service I ever experienced in my life and for that reason, we will never buy an LG appliance again!

I was without a refrigerator for three weeks and I told them that when I bought it, I had the same issue. When their people came, they changed the compressor and it was fine. But then, the technician told me when they came out for the third time that even if they change the fluid, they cannot guarantee that the refrigerator will work. Our refrigerators model was in the lawsuit. LG **ed us for 6 months, telling us they would send out a technician to fix it. THEY NEVER DID. And then had the audacity to tell us they’d only give $800 in a depreciated value. THAT DOESNT FIX SAID REFRIGERATOR OR GET US A SAME MODEL DIFFERENT ONE. Even a 2015 would STILL be $1600. Purchased this expensive machine (1400 AUD) in July 2012 and started breaking down in 2016 with 200 AUD spent on repairs in the last 6 months. The computer control unit has now died with an estimated repair and replacement cost l of 1000 AUD (500 for the part and 500 to do the replacement including call out). So have effectively had 4.5 years out of this machine. While the motor has a 10-year warranty the computer control does not so this equates to 311 AUD/year. The washing machine I had before this one lasted 8 years with much lower repair costs. My conclusion is that LG front loader not sufficiently reliable as it did even 5 years without needing repairs, which is what I expect out of a washing machine. I have three LG appliances and I have major problem with all.My microwave shelf makes contact with the oven wall because of too much play with shelf brackets and because the shelf should be smaller that what it is. It burned a line through to the metal and arced sparks. I wrote to the company service on the LG website but they did not reply. Today I called LG. The company representative said that it was no longer covered with warranty. I stressed that it was a safety issue and a design flaw. I switched to a supervisor who did not budge from that stand. I explained that it has been that way since day one but I had been very careful, that I always pull the shelf to the most forward position. Of course, as it should be safe for everyone. She said that she could have someone repair it at my expense. I said this was not acceptable. She then said I should buy microwave paint at the hardware store to fix the oven before using it again and not to operate it in the future with the shelf in, some solution! She also said the manual explains when to remove the shelf. I asked if it says never to use the shelf since that would be the only way to avoid the problem. She acknowledged that it did not. I reminded her of the light relay fire issue that they had with their refrigerators and that LG avoided the responsibility for that for about 4 years. Online reports made it clear that they only started to cover the repair recently on the 2005 models. I also made note of the problem with the leaking of the water through the seam between the two panels on the front of the dishwasher. She noted my problem but again, she said that it was off the warranty, but that she would send someone to my home to repair it at my expense. Again, this problem exists since day one. Someone needs to make these people responsible for their products. The refrigerator incident could have burnt my house down. Heaven knows what damage the toxic fumes from the microwave could cause.

I purchased my LG refrigerator in 2013, 4 1/2 years later the compressor goes out. With the 10 year warranty still on it, I contacted LG. Dealing with their customer service department was a nightmare. To begin with, they had no service technicians in my area, then they give me three authorized service companies to call, all were either wrong numbers or they dont work on LG appliances anymore. LG had service technicians but had none a available. So whats the purpose of a warranty if you cant honor it?As Im searching the internet to read complaints on LG, I came across a site indicating a class action lawsuit against LG for their faulty linear compressors posted last month, so I searched more and learned there was a previous lawsuit. LG is aware of their faulty compressors yet they have no desire to help consumers get repairs. What am I suppose to do other than join in on this new class action lawsuit, which could take years. I had to toss out over $300 worth of food, purchase a mini fridge and deal with ice chests. And still without a fridge. I cant afford to purchase another frig right now. I will NEVER purchase another LG anything, phone, TV, refrigerator, washer dryer nothing with a LG logo. Their warranty is a joke as well as their customer service.

I chose to purchase an LG refrigerator over other brands because this brand had what I was looking for at the time. LG has met my expectations. I would still consider purchasing an LG brand, but I would consider getting a different style. The features that I like most about the refrigerator is that it has a built in freezer, as well as an ice dispenser and water dispenser. I like to be able to have my fridge produce ice rather than going to buy ice or having to make it with a tray. The features that I dislike about the refrigerator is that after a while, the freezer component becomes very noisy when you open it. Another feature that I dislike would be that the ice dispenser becomes very frozen and the ice gets stuck together and I have to break off the ice pieces individually.

Accessible water and ice from the door of the refrigerator, ample storage space for items placed in the refrigerator, blending of the refrigerator with the kitchen decor, ease of cleaning the inside and exterior surfaces and the quietness in the operation of the mechanical parts represent features I liked about the refrigerator. Shortly thereafter, issues developed with the ice maker that included water dripping from the ice container into the dispensing tray that eventually caused severe damage to the wood floor.
