LG Washer Model WM4000HBA
I have a refrigerator out in the garage that is almost 30 years old and it is in better condition than this 5 year old LG, French door, freezer at bottom model. Within the first year the crisper drawers lost their wheels and by the second year they were cracked and falling apart. The latches that hold the door broke off in the second year and the cold storage drawer fell apart the next year. I have a new refrigerator coming tomorrow to replace this piece of crap. Dont waste your money on LG appliances.
Updated on 03/11/2019: This is a follow up to my January 2019 post. I lowered my rating to one star since the dryer (DLEX5680) was repaired only to break again within 6 weeks. The dryer was serviced and our house dryer vent was cleaned as recommended before using the dryer. It worked wonderfully for 6 weeks and now have the same symptoms. There should be a recall on this dryer. Very frustrating.Original Review: I purchased the dryer in mid-2014. Worked well first 4 years... Broke with a common issue. The dryer stopped working without warning. It thinks its drying but the machine is not running or drum rotating. Evidently this is a common problem since the repair company knew the problem and the part to order without a visit. Its been 3 weeks so far dealing with the warranty company and now we have to wait for the part. I will follow up this review with the wait and repair time.
LG microwave was part of the kitchen appliances in the home we bought last year. It appeared to be fairly new. Within 6 months the door frame cracked then the handle broke off. Its noisy when it runs and the configuration of the buttons and functions is confusing. Ive never figured out the soften button. Glad we didnt actually purchase it ourselves but will now have to replace it.
Bought my LG REFRIGERATOR on November 18th, 2015. Right away it had a noise coming from it. The first of December 2018, woke up to a puddle of water in front of the refrigerator. Opened the door and the freezer was warm. Called LG, they sent a technician out, he had to replace the compressor and the circuit board, waited 1 week for parts to come in. Technician came and replace the parts. 2 days later, something happened AGAIN, waiting for another week for him to come out (because he was busy doing other repairs), he added Freon, that lasted for 2 days, then the day before Christmas eve 2018, he came out and put more Freon in it. The Technician CANT FIND THE PROBLEM. Now, its December 29th 2018, still not fixed. We been on the phone with LG for the last 4 weeks. All they keep saying is that they will send the repair guy out. Now mind you, I had to throw out over 500.00 worth of food in the beginning. They are going to refund us a check for 150.00 and the Technician already got paid for the job, 250.00. Hes been out 3 times so far, each time for at least 4-5 each time. All LG WANTS TO IS KEEP TRYING TO FIX IT. It seems to me with all of these problems that all of us consumers are having, that they would just replace them... Im still without a refrigerator and have 2 little kids. THEY DONT CARE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG REFRIGERATOR. FROM NORTHEAST OHIO.
We were very upset initially with our expensive LG refrigerator breaking after 3 1/2 years which left us living out of coolers for a week, losing 80% of the items in our refrigerator and freezer due to spoilage. We were finally able to speak with an LG Representative on the phone within 24 hours to discuss the problem and LG came through and stood behind their product by conducting a repair with upgraded new parts and a software update to help eliminate future problems. We had an extended warranty through an authorized LG retailer we purchased from. LG took over the repair order, sent their internal LG Service Direct Technician to our home and conducted the repair. The technician was very professional and highly skilled. The repair only took 1 hour.We were very concerned about parts being ordered and having to wait an additional 1-2 weeks after diagnostic testing. Not the case! Repair was complete on 26 FEB 2020, 6 days after breakage. 5 hours after the repair completion, the ice maker was producing ice, freezer was working, and the refrigerator was cold. Seems like a good repair. I would like to thank LG for their support in this matter regarding our refrigerator repair. We look forward to enjoying our LG appliances now and in the future.
The rollers on the bottom tray do not stay on track and as result it has to be lifted to move it in and out. This dishwasher was purchased after reading the reviews and installed in a new home.
I find these customer service reviews hard to believe. So we bought the most beautiful big refrigerator and was one to boast about. UNTIL THE DREADED LG COMPRESSOR ISSUE.. Have been on the phone for over a month with them. Based in another country. They would not even offer a tech to come out. The ones they referred dont do the linear compressor. They offered to replace the compressor with us paying labor. Ok I dont care. Paid almost $3,000 for the fridge. I just want my warranty work done and done now. All the research Ive done, everyone else has had my experience. So I find these reviews hard to believe. Come on LG help us out.
We purchased an LG Tromm Washer in 2005. Shortly after purchasing, we noticed a moldy smell in clothes and on towels. The whites get marks on them as well. As I cleaned around inside, I noticed (over time) a nasty, moldy, slime buildup inside of gasket and output valve would drain nasty sewer water. I have very 3 sensitive children that have allergies and I have asthma as well. This is harming, not helping out health! Also, the detergent dispenser drawer somehow gets stuck a number of times. In order to release it, you have to slide washer away from wall, unscrew the top and pivot it up and slide until you view the drawer then release it. I called customer service and they blame me, telling me I am not cleaning it well enough or just change the subject or ignore completely!
I actually bought the same model. I really enjoy the sliding shelves and that the ice maker is in the door and not taking up space in the refrigerator itself. This newer model now has two ice maker and in my home that will really come in handy.
The light bulbs on the bottom of my over the stove microwave get so hot that they are melting the plastic cover that surrounds them. A hole has been burnt right through the plastic. I finally just took the cover off as small bits of plastic were falling out of the cover on to the stove. Anyone else having this problem? Let me say that my microwave is about 8 years old but everything else works fine on it, just an issue with the overheating light bulbs.
Ive read plenty of horror stories about LGs microwaves on this website, to include how bad the customer service is. I purchased my LG LMV1683ST /00 over-the-range microwave in 2014 (product was manufactured June 2013). Since then, we have had the control board (LEDs burnt out) and the turntable motor (really bad squeal) replaced (in the first year!), and I just had the control board replaced again, today (when you close the door the internal light turns on, and turntable spins, even though I didnt command them to). I was able to get the warranty work done by contacting Lowes (where it was purchased), and they sent out repairmen in a timely manner. For the latest repair, I had to contact LG directly. After reading reviews of other peoples experiences dealing with customer service, I decided not to deal with them, and instead, requested to be immediately transferred to a supervisor. I explained (in a calm, not demanding manner) how this unit has already had 2 repairs, and now needs another one. He understood my concerns, and setup an appointment for a repairman to come out, at no charge. I stated that I thought the issue was the control board again. The repairman came today (LG repairman), was very personable, and had a new control board in hand. Microwave was repaired in 10 minutes, and were back up and running. In summary, the customer service experience was good (because I spoke directly with a supervisor), but the quality of the product is substandard. Lets see how long it takes for something else to fail.
I have been fighting with LG over this French Door refrigerator with its freezer drawer glides breaking three times in three years. Yesterday, the drawer fell completely to pieces and now my icemaker is not working consistently. Ice is building up inside the walls (has been for two years). The freezer doesnt freeze. The list goes on and on. Not only have I been forced to purchase the defective parts three times, the parts are not in stock. If there is no recall or problem with the part, why the shortage? I have gotten nowhere with LG including the supervisors. I believe there is cause for a class action suit to be brought against them over this as there are many others having the same issues. Yet, LG refuses to make good on their product. Today alone, I have found no less than 1,000 others who are also having these same issues. That was with just one Google search. I am certain this product is a manufacturer defective product and needs to be removed from the market. I will never own another LG product again nor purchase another item from Best Buy.
Bought my refrigerator model LFX33975ST in 2013. Had high hopes I wouldnt have to purchase another unit for a long time but to my surprise two years later, Im looking at doing just that! My husband and I usually research products pretty good before purchasing them so we thought LG was a good choice -- WRONG. After two years, my refrigerator has stopped cooling. LGs Customer Service told me to contact a repairman to confirm the problem was the compressor and if so, they would mail a new part to me. The problem was the compressor, but the repairman told me they would not repair the refrigerator even if LG provided the part. I called another repairman but they refused to even to come out to look at it once I told him it was a LG refrigerator. I called LG back (after five days had passed) to check the status of my repair request and after being put on hold for 15-20 minutes, the person told me he was unable to get a hold of anyone and gave me three numbers I could call for service. The person at the last number I called was very helpful and honest. She told me she could schedule someone to come out to look at the unit but I would have to provide proof of purchase before they could do anything per LGs company policy. I was never told that by LGs Customer Service and at that point, it became very obvious to me I may not ever get my refrigerator fixed. Thumbs down LG - I will never buy one of your products again; oh no, too late -- earlier this year we purchased a new LG dishwasher and washer/dryer... yeps!!!
Purchased range with 1 year warranty. Clock stopped working 1 yr. 4 mo. Offered to replace part but not labor. Ill put part in myself. NOPE. Someone must diagnose problem then order part then come back out and replace it. This will cost 10 times what the part costs. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy LG!!!
I purchased an LG washer/dryer 6 years ago. I had problems with the washer from the first week. Six service calls were made within the first year to correct the problem of the washer stopping during the spin cycle. They kept coming to fix it until the warranty ran out. Then, they told me that its “too bad. They refused to take it back, although I asked for 2 years! I finally kicked it to the curb, and bought a Maytag. There are no bells and whistles, but it works fine. The dryer stopped drying completely during cycles after 3 years of owning it. No repair corrected the problem. I had to run a dryer cycle 2-3 times to dry the clothes. Now that doesnt even work. I cannot find an LG repairman since nobody wants to deal with this company. Im kicking it to the curb today, and going to buy a Maytag.
We are joining the rest of duped LG purchasers. We purchased a French Door refrigerator LFX28968SB in 2015 and on 9-19-18 we had to throw food out and are now using a cooler with ice to keep essentials. The refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling. We contacted the store where we bought it and a service tech came out on 9/20/18 and said there was nothing he could do. It ** the bed. I called customer service (which the rep was rude) and she stated we needed to have a certified LG tech look at it and they need to submit the repair request. She gave the one, which there seemed not to be more than 1 in RI. Contacted Certified Service Co. and they seemed to be having issues with doing work on LG and said I would have to have parts sent to me if they were under warranty. I agreed. Now after reading all the reviews Im cancelling the service call and going to buy new refrigerator and it will not be a LG for sure. I think a lawsuit against this company needs to be revisited. There are way too many lemons out there and they were not cheap. Not to mention the loss of food and tons of aggravation!
The dishwasher caught my house on fire, model number lds4821 st/bb/ww. The fire chief stated it was the motor of the dishwasher that caused the fire. It was only three years old.
I also purchased an LG front load washer with all the bells and whistles. The first month, it worked fine, then clothes were coming out with holes in them and the color was gray and dingy. I have written at least five letters, and as yet have not received any written response. Upon calling, l was referred to repair or Best Buy. My warranty was not an issue, but l failed to get any results. It has been three years and l as a consumer will never purchase an LG product again. And interestingly enough, on the day it was delivered, the delivery guy stated, Good luck as the machine is a piece of junk. He was absolutely correct.
I purchased a whole house full of LG appliances in October of 2011 (Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, Stove, Microwave/hood, and refrigerator). I have had many issues with the washer. The washer worked fine initially and gradually started having issues from unbalanced loads to not spinning enough and leaving the clothes soaked requiring extra spin cycles. I purchased this particular model for the load capacity. You would think it would be able to handle what it was made for. In August of 2013 LG sent out a recall for unbalanced load issue. An Authorized repair company came out and did the software update. Frankly the full of clothes and water with the lid locked from no power. They replaced the board (reluctantly) and we were operational until April of 2014 when the board blew again. Our first course of action was to call the authorized repair company back, but they would not talk to us over the phone and wanted to come out and charge us for a service call to service the machine as well as labor to replace the part, if in fact they felt they should warranty it. LG also no help at this point, the machine was out of warranty and not their problem. Since we knew what the problem was and were not fond of repair company anyway, we ordered the part ourselves online and put it in. This one lasted all the way to almost the end of September 2014, again blowing with the machine full of clothes. I have now purchased a new machine (not LG) and will be sending LG copies of all the paperwork, from original purchase all the way to current purchase. I doubt they will do anything for me, the machine is clearly a piece of junk sitting in my garage. Unfortunately, this is not the only one of their appliances I have had issues with. The microwave has had just about every part in it replaced in the span of a couple months, some of the parts multiple times. This was also a big hassle to get repaired. The LG tech fixed it the first 2 times and then it got pushed to yet another authorized repair company, for multiple visits changing out a part at a time. It would have been cheaper for them to just give me a new one. LG is now banned from my house. I will never purchase another one of their products, no matter what it is. I also recommend to everyone I know, to stay away from the Large Garbage. So far they have not stood by their products. I did not purchase an extended warranty, but I have never had issues like this with any appliance I have ever purchased and they have lasted well over 3 years. Not to mention these dealers want to charge at least 1/2 of the purchase price for these extended warranties, which is ridiculous.
I purchased the LG refrigerator in June 2016 from Home Depot. The compressor failed July 2017. Fortunately, I had purchased the extended 5-year warranty through Home Depot; however, the on going saga of trying to get the unit repaired is unacceptable. It took nearly 10 days to get repairman to the house to diagnose the problem. There were no compressors anywhere within the United States to replace the defective compressor. The compressor was back ordered with a promised delivery date 10 days after the repairman had diagnosed the problem. I expected the compressor to arrive by August 3rd. I was recently informed that it would not arrive before August 17th with a possible installation to occur within 1 to 3 days after that date! This would be over a month to get the refrigerator repaired. In discussing the problem with the repairman, he informed me that he is seeing numerous compressor problems with the LG refrigerator. Home Depot, although not acknowledging a problem, was good enough to offer a small refrigerator to provide some form of unit for us to have in the interim. I suspect that they know that LG has a major problem that is being swept under the rug. This is a problem that needs further investigation.I honestly want Home Depot to take the unit back, so I can replace it with another brand. It was the top of the line LG refrigerator, in which I paid nearly $3000. Compressors should not fail within a years time, and if they do, there should be replacements available in less time than a month. Clearly, LG has some sort of defective design with their refrigerator compressors. As I have investigated the problem online, I noted that there has been at least one class action suit against LG refrigerators in the recent past. I believe that this issue is potentially lining up for another class action suit.
In November 2011, we purchased an LG Microwave (Model LMV1813SB). It lost power a month later and had to be serviced by LG. It went out again a week later. An LG service person came out and worked on it again, but due to the LG policy, would not replace it until after four service calls. We had the issue again in March and April and finally they are replacing it. My complaint is the extremely poor policy and customer service that LG has. They would rather have the customer go through the time and effort of not having a microwave, making numerous phone calls to LG and scheduling time to have the microwave fixed. This is such horrible customer service. The time and effort we have had to go through to replace the microwave is more than what the microwave is worth. Here is the icing on the cake. LG has shipped our new microwave but told us that the one year warranty does not include removal and installation. I had to argue to get them to reimburse me for this. I will never buy another LG product based on this horrible customer service experience!
I purchased an LG refrigerator. After about 1 1/2 year, the fuse blows. Now you would expect to just replace the fuse, but no. The design of the fridge is that you have to replace the entire circuit board costing hundreds. I dont know why, but I decided to do a little research. I went to YouTube and found a video of how to replace a fuse bypass circuit avoiding a big cost. My fiance and myself did this. Total cost is around $25.00 (gotcha LG) and we have no experience. If you can follow directions, turn the power off to the fridge, of course, and use your own judgement. I would do so again. Why do we think they fix it to where you cant pay to have a fuse replaced (which I have never heard of going out on a refrigerator that fast anyway)? So that maybe a company can makes lots of money by replacing the entire boards instead of just a $1 or $2 fuse. Just want everyone to know and to the person who did the YouTube video, thank you so much! And to LG, no thanks. I will not buy another LG product (lifes good). Life would be better without defective appliances.
After 4 years of no issues with our LG refrigerator, it died one day after we hosted our daughters bridal shower. Needless to say, we lost all the food. Called a repairman, came out and informed us it was the compressor and it was under warranty. He also warned us that LG has been having issues with the compressors. We called LG and they told us that their repair service (through A&E) couldnt come out until 2 weeks later. I waited ALL day and no one ever came. We received a call and email to call back the next day to reschedule. Naturally I assumed they would come asap. Well to my dismay, they couldnt come out until 2 WEEKS later. Are you kidding me!! We had been without a fridge all this time and they expect you to wait even longer and its their negligence! We were so frustrated and disgusted we just gave up and bought a new refrigerator, a Frigidaire, since it seems price doesnt guarantee it will last!
The original was a Samsung which was replaced as it was new and junk. The LG has nice, clean operating features and reliable and never an issue. Loads are clean and spun out very well and no noise. You would not even think it is operating as it is so quiet. Ordered the pedestals as well for the front loader and second best item with it for storage. Give a full 5 star Rating.
We purchased this dryer less than a year ago at Lowes. Since purchasing this new dryer, I have to run all loads on a minimum of 2 cycles to dry, mostly with towels and not huge loads but maybe 10 towels I usually have to run through 4 dry settings to get them dry enough which is ridiculous. This is why we replaced our old Samsung dryer. Gonna be replacing our washing machine soon, and after this complete waste of a dryer purchase, we will definitely be looking at other avenues and brands for our washing machine upgrade. I have 2 college students and one middle school and 3 people working in my house and dont have time to wait 3 hours for dry clothes. Do not recommend this product as a dryer for anyone.
I purchased an LG refrigerator from ABC Warehouse on 5/24/15. On 6/3/16 my refrigerator stopped keeping things cold and the blower fan stopped working. We purchased an extended warranty for this item and was referred to an appliance repair company that ABC dealt with. On 6/7/16 the company finally came out and they determined what parts they needed to order. It is 6/19/16 and my refrigerator is still not repaired. Its ridiculous that I spent over $3000 on this refrigerator just to have it stop operating one week after the manufactures warranty. To matters worst I purchased an LG washer and dryer 10/15/15 only to have the washer and dryer both need repair work done. I am currently waiting on parts for the washer and since the repair man was out the dryer is now making a noise and is need of service. I will never purchase an LG appliance again. When you spend thousand of dollars on an appliance you expect it to last longer than 6 months.
We purchased a LG washer several years ago from Home Depot. It is a nightmare. It smells horrible. I have to leave the door open whenever it is not in use. It only works on one type of wash cycle...the speed cycle. All of the rest do not release detergent into the wash. The washer makes so much noise and lights flashing that my papillon stands back and barks from afar. No matter if I choose 20 minutes for delicate or speed cycle that says 30 minutes it takes an hour. I bought used Maytag and wish everyday that I could own any brand but LG, and I will never buy anything that saves water again. How much is my time worth? A lot. I will join you in any lawsuit or civil action. These machines are horrible and expensive. What a waste. But I laughed so hard reading the posts, I am sure it added years to my life. I was looking online to see if I could throw the detergent in with the clothes because the dispenser does not work anymore.
I have a 2-year-old LG Dryer. Not long after I bought it, it started catching clothing articles on the dryer filter at the front of the door. My clothes are getting ruined. The dryer will twist all the clothes together and the piece of clothing that gets caught, will stretch out or rip. I have already replaced a filter that cost $30, thinking it was a defective filter (not warranted). I know LG is aware of the problem, because when I called the manufacturer, the salesman admitted that people were having that problem. I want a refund. I will have to buy a new dryer. By the way, one of the bars inside the drum fell off. Now, I will have to call a repair man, stay at home all day to wait for him to come look at it, order a part and then when it comes in, I will have to stay home all day to wait for him to come back and fix it. I am so sick of spending my energy on this dryer.
I have been quite unhappy with my lovely new LG washing machine, because everything it washes comes out smelling bad. I found (online) many stories from people with front-loading HE washers who had nasty-smelling laundry. I called LG last month and the customer service people gave me a series of chores to do and said if I performed them weekly, the smell would disappear. Well, I performed them five times weekly and the laundry still smelled like week-old workout clothes stuffed in a gym locker. So yesterday, they finally sent a real, live repairman. The repair guy took one look and said it was clean and nothing was wrong that he could fix except by telling me to use a powdered laundry detergent called Charlies Soap. He insisted that all the usual detergents are made with animal fats or byproducts or something, but Charlies Soap is made with coconut oils or something vegetable-based, and that it is the animal fats that build up in the clothes in these HE washers and make the clothes smell like a week-old gym bag. He said it would take 2 or 3 washings with Charlies Soap to eliminate all the smell in the clothes. I thought he was nuts, but I tried it. It actually worked. Now I want to know why LG doesnt tell anyone what the problem is! I was aggravated & upset with stinking laundry for six months! Do they have a financial connection to laundry detergent sales but not to Charlies Soap?
We plugged in our new LG fridge 3 days before Thanksgiving of 2007. Two years and one month later, the ice maker broke down. LG policy would not cover the expense. Four years to the day, after plugging in our new fridge, the compressor failed. That was November 22, 2011. I am sending this note on February 2, 2012, and we are still waiting for parts to repair the new LG.
My LG washing machine broke down requiring a new part. The repairman advised me the part was no longer available. I contacted LG and they informed me that manufacture of parts are discontinued after 7 to 10 years. Now I am in a situation requiring me to purchase a new washer as the basic part costing about $100 is not available. I also was informed by LG this is the case not just for washers but for LG major appliances. So if one buys a LG appliance and breakage occurs after 7 to 10 years, that appliance is not fixable and must be replaced. I find that unacceptable for a major appliance and will not be buying LG in the future.
Always shaking as unbalanced. Have found greasy looking debris on clothing and a tear in brand new sheet set??? Help. What is causing this?
My LG fridge stopped cooling less than 2 years after we bought it. The compressor is still under warranty. We cant get someone to come and repair it within a reasonable time. The person called at 4:02 we returned the call at 4:04 and they wouldnt come out. We missed our time and had to reschedule with Habeeb in India. **, India really, he could not answer my questions and would not transfer me to someone in the US. We are stuck in Miami; I will never buy another LG product from Sears again. Meantime, all of our food is spoiled and Thanksgiving is coming with company.
Here I find myself reporting ANOTHER problem with our LG refrigerator that cost almost $3000. Its the three door with the freezer door on the bottom and is supposed to be wonderful because it has a linear something or other. The freezer compressor lasted just over one year. The labor warranty had expired and the compressor was covered. It still cost me $450 for the repair. Now, about one year later, the freezer has stopped working two more times with all the frozen food thawing. Curiously, after the food thaws, the motor starts working again. This happened to me again today. Fortunately, I have an old reliable Kenmore backup in the garage. I think that LG does not deserve another customer. Expect problems from them if you dare buy one. They should definitely be OOB. OUT OF BUSINESS!
I like the freezer, fridge, multiple shelves, the shelves slide out to be cleaned and so do the drawers. There are four drawers including a cheese drawer specifically. I would put an ice maker in it. Also I would put a smart system into it to tell you when youve left the fridge open or tell you when its not working correctly and I would include freezer trays with purchase and water filter along with a digital thermostat. It has met expectations. I was very happy with value and price overall. This fridge is amazing and meets all my needs and or wants but if I had to choose one additional brand over LG itd be Samsung for sure.
Model LRE3023ST the bottom drawer pull out is difficult and dangerous to your hands. You can easily be badly hurt when trying to pull out the bottom drawer to clean underneath the stove or if something falls behind. This bottom drawer is so difficult to pull out, it should NEVER EVER be used. This model should be recalled.
Updated on 03/25/2021: After my review LG replied, that I can call LG and they gave me an authorization number. They said that LG will contact me within 7-10 business days or I can call them. I called them today, since nobody contacted me. I was told that my claim was rejected because there was not enough documentation from the technician and the technician did not state that the dishwasher is not reparable! I said that he did not say that. I was standing next to him when he called LG and was told that there was a recall on the dishwasher and he received TCC number which I also wrote down. (And I was told later by LG that they cannot find that number in their system) This is a technician from LG. This is not mine technician. I do not really know or care what paperwork they need to exchange. I am trying to have working dishwasher for 6 months now! I do not know why LG is not standing behind their product and cannot resolve this problem in 6 month. I have ordered this in June 2020. I do not care if the dishwasher is repaired, replaced, but I just need to have functional dishwasher.Original Review: In June 2020 I have ordered LG dishwasher from Home Depot for one of rental units I manage. Because of shortage of appliances it came 2 months later. This is one of many dishwashers I bought, but all others were Samsung. When tenant moved in this unit, they called me that there is a rubbery smell and smoke coming from the dishwasher after about 30 min of washing. I called LG, LG said the tenant has to call because they will take them through different steps. Tenant was told that they have to keep running it that it is normal that the dishwasher is new. But smell did not go away. Technician came in, but said that he cannot stay for the whole cycle and they should keep running it. Then I called LG and was told that they will call another technician and got another appointment. (4 months has passed already.) My tenant moved out because they could not use the dishwasher. Another technician came and spent a lot of time examining the dishwasher then he called LG and found out there was a recall on this dishwasher and gave me TCC number which LG gave him. I was told I will just call LG and give them the number and they will exchange the dishwasher. I called LG that I am calling because there was a recall on the dishwasher and gave them the TCC number. LG told me that they do not have the number in their system and they will call the repair company (which LG sent) and they will call me back. Nobody called me nor they called the repair company! I tried the next day and was told that the recall department will call me back... Again nobody called me. It has been 5 months since I have reported problem for the first time. Nobody can still wash dishes and my apartment is vacant since I cannot place new tenant in till I have dishwasher. LG is a nightmare to deal with. I do not understand how they can stay in business. I will never buy any LG product because of the customer service they provide. There is nobody who takes ownership and resolves an issue. My tenant was so upset they wrote to VP of LG. Tenant is in the process of building a home and they make sure none of their new appliances are LG.
I agree with the majority of the people regarding LG fridge. I purchased an expensive counter depth fridge 5 years and 7 months ago and it completely broke down. Not the compressor but a leakage within the wall of the fridge so it cannot be repaired. I paid $125 to the LG technician to come and inspect to tell me that it cannot be repaired and that I should get a new fridge. The technician also let me know that the leakage was a manufacturing issue not wear and tear. I am aware of the LG settlement and was shy of 7 months to claim anything. LG refuses to do anything about it. So basically all their products are useless. I will never purchase another LG product and will make sure that everyone I know do the same. Worse service and company. They knew about the defects but did nothing. Where is the accountability???
Seriously 2 yr old fridge and compressor goes out. Lost food. Ok stuff happens but then they tell me have to order part and might be able to get back Monday. REALLY a whole week. Horrible product, horrible service. PLEASE dont waste your money on LG products!
I love the LG refrigerators. They are stainless steel, lots of shelving, space is plentiful, and can adjust temperatures for different parts (sliding drawers/fruits/vegetables/etc). One day, I hope to purchase the latest series.
At invitation via email from LG, I spent quite a long time writing a careful, truthful evaluation of my fancy still-under-warranty LG washer WM3875HVCA, which has had about seven or eight service visits. Both computer panels have been changed out; the water valve has been replaced; the door latch has been replaced; and still, the thing locks when I try to open the door post-cycle. Also, water continues to leak into the drawer serviced by the water valves, and the supposed anti-wrinkle option, which an LG representative told me directly on the phone is supposed to be constant for the eight hours as indicated, appears to do nothing. It is never on, whenever I check on it after a cycle.I had written a grammatically correct, no swear words, truthful review, and picked only two starts out of five. Would anyone like to guess how LG responded? They denied allowing my review to be published on their site, supposedly claiming it did not meet their guidelines. Um, would those guidelines include singing only praises of their products (i.e.. if you give a negative review, they dont want to hear it, publish it, or know of it)?I am completely disgusted with this situation. LGs email denying my reviews acceptance told me to submit another review as if anything similarly negative would receive their approval for site-publication.As long as I dont rave about this washer, I suspect they are never going to allow anyone to see what my experience has been because then, prospective buyers would take a pause before considering a similar purchase. Indeed, the only reviews, which I read, on LGs site are all glowing about my washer. Ha.
I did not know about this site when we purchased our LG products, freestanding double oven electric range, french door refrigerator and washer and dryer. Had the microwave but took it back right away as it was so dark inside and the light very dim. Bought a KitchenAid microwave and previously dishwasher. I have a problem with the self-clean feature of the oven. I have broiled steaks on the quick broil feature. Guess what when you use this feature, the fat will splatter inside the oven. After cooking the steaks I cleaned the oven but the floor of the oven in front of the door did not clean. It looked really baked on and you could not wipe it clean at all. I have the blue enamel oven. I did not touch this area - afraid I would void the warranty so called the executive warranty dept. Spoke with Wendy and she said they should be able to schedule an appt for Friday. Waited for the call but none came so we assumed they would show up on Friday.NO SHOW NO CALL. Called back and Wendy said her computer was down but we did get a response to schedule for the following Friday. Repair guy said it should not have done that either. Called Tech department and they told my husband to put wet paper towels over the area and use the easy clean feature. It did remove the baked on mess so they told us they would not warranty it. I was so madddd!!! I called and spoke with Brenda ** and she told me I didnt need to get an attitude with her. I explained that I am allowed to cook in the oven and that food will splatter (she said splatters are not covered by warranty). The oven has a self-clean feature and of course LG expects food to be splattered why else would you have a self-clean feature? I expect it to work and not to have to clean it first before I use the self-clean feature. The feature cleaned the oven beautifully except the foot and half area in front of the door.I told the rep that I felt it was a seal problem and it wasnt getting hot enough in that particular area to clean the food. She was going to check with her tech and emailed me that it was not covered under warranty. I emailed her back that was unacceptable. I wanted the general managers number and I was going to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney Generals Office. I will not give up. I know they want me to cause our warranty is about up also and if they stall me then they wont have to deal with it. Now I just need to figure out how to contact him but am filing a complaint with both agencies. I did not know about this site before buying our products.
Many factors weighed in choosing which one to get purchased it because it was cheap and a good size. It can fit a lot for a small refrigerator, we have a tiny kitchen and that one fit. It keeps the food in the fridge nice and cold. I hate room temperature water and if I put water in, then its cold almost immediately. It is a nice texture and overall a good fridge. Sometimes it can get too cold though. Things almost get frozen, which can be nice but also nasty and leave residue. It also broke so we had to buy a new one.
In the summer of 2009, my wife and I purchased a new kitchen with all new LG stainless steel appliances. Since then, we have had trouble with two of the four appliances. We soon discovered that the control knobs on the new LG LRG30357ST range were damaged due to poor design. The oversized stainless knobs were a selling point for us, as they had a nice, heavy duty, commercial look. But the plastic connecting pieces are cracked now and fit very loosely. Then after about a year and a half, the LG LMVM2085ST microwave stopped working after a short period of erratic performance. We were told on the phone by a customer assistance operator that our one year warranty had expired. And the cost of repairs would be ours to pay. I called the local repair shop with the number given. We would then have to remove the 70 pound microwave from over the range, and place it on the table before the technician arrive. The technician came to the house and made the repairs. But then, he left me to reinstall it myself. About six months later, the same thing happened. Only the lights and the fan work now to serve as glorified range hood. My wife and I have been very upset with this. We wanted so much to be happy and proud of our new kitchen, but disappointment has sullied the experience.
I have an LG Washer Model WM0532HW, purchased at Best Buy on June 2004 for $1,000. It just needed $400 in parts and 3 repair service calls for an additional $225. I called LG customer service to ask if they would pay to replace any parts since I had 3 failed parts at once and they were of no help at all. They would not even let me speak with a supervisor. This is a very expensive machine with expensive replacement parts. I could have gotten a new machine if Id known the extent of the part failures.
We purchased this refrigerator in May 2015. Ice maker has always been marginal, but this last week after we got home from a few days away, we found the refrigerator and freezer not working. No error codes, so we tried a power reset. Still no cooling or freezing. We called the appliance repair from the store we purchased from and their technician came out and verified the compressor had failed. He said their shop would contact LG about getting a repair estimate. We had purchased a 5 year warranty, but were 15 months out of coverage. Started to investigate if this was a common problem and lo and behold, we find there was a class action suit against LG for defective linear compressors. Our model was in the affected date range, however the settlement only covered 5 years after purchase for parts and labor. We are now waiting for a repair estimate. LG compressors are not reliable. Do your own research. These fridges are advertised as saving money, but when you spend over $2000 for a piece of junk that only lasted 6 years, do the math. They are not cheaper to own. We went shopping for a replacement and told the sales lady our experience with LG refrigerators and she commented that several of her customers had conveyed the same story about failed LG compressors. It is probably going to make more sense to just purchase a new refrigerator, given the cost of repair labor. Rest assured, it will not be LG or any other LG product in the future. LG is not Life is Good. It is Lucky Goldstar. Our luck ran out.
The ice machine built in to the door is awful. If you dont use it on a daily basis, the ice cubes freeze together and none will come out. This is a CONSTANT problem. I asked about it and was told it had been fixed. I feel I was lied to.
Water Level - Poor. White clothes - Never had such dingy clothes. Time to complete loads - 1-2 1/2 hours. Loud Vibrations - plus off balance with most loads. Bleach Dispenser rusts. Wear and tear on clothes. Would love to be compensated so I can replace this awful machine.
LG has exceeded my expectations and I would buy from them again. They have a great customer service department. I like that there is a built in ice machine and I like the color and that it matches the rest of my kitchen. I like that it is a smart refrigerator. But it is a little bit too large and I dont like the double doors or the fact that the freezer is on the bottom. I dont like that it is a smart fridge because IM worried about privacy of my data.
LG fridge bought in Aug. 2017. Worked good for almost 2 years, and then the madness started in July 2019. As of today the compressor has been changed, then a 2nd trip to fix a leak supposedly, 2 weeks after that the ice maker quits working. Technician is now saying it is the flanges on the freezer doors not sealing properly. Technician orders parts and I get a call today from the parts department saying that parts are on backorder and they have no clue how long it may be. I will never buy an LG appliance again. $2000.00 just does not buy you what it used to. If LG would just own up and say they are selling a defective product and make it right, it might not be so bad. But all they keep doing is kicking the can down the road. I am officially, over it. If something is not done soon, I am to the point of trying to see if I can do anything legally. There has to be a lemon law or something like that on products like this.
Purchased an LG microwave oven (over the range) model LMV1813S ...installed it 3 days before Thanksgiving 2014. On Christmas morning (1 month later) it stopped heating. Certified LG service repaired it yesterday with a brand new computer board and keypad (just to be safe). Worked once and then stopped again. LG will not send a new unit. Says the repair guy must come fix it again and again until he determines it is a lemon.....its brand new, 2 months old.
My wife and I had higher expectations on the model and make. We thought that being a LG model and the new concept of front loading that the clothes would come out cleaner. As far as water consumption no complaints and the company is in the right direction on that topic. But for tumbling of the clothes to get them clean, I think that we need to get back to the drawing board. And as for the quietness of the machine no complaints, either very quiet especially for a washer.
We went shopping and we liked the LG Refrigerator, and we purchased it a few years ago. I liked the way it was written up and the way it looked. The French doors are my favorite and I’m very happy with the quality of LG. If I had any issues, I called the LG service and the experience was 100% good. I am extremely satisfied with the refrigerator as well as the service. People should go and get them. It was a magnificent experience.
I purchased an LG French door refrigerator for my newly remodeled kitchen in December of 2008. During this time, I have had 9 service calls - 8 of which pertained to the water system. Each time, there was leakage in the rear of the appliance which remained undetected for some time since the fridge was built in. When finally discovered water had been sitting on my hardwood floor for days and days. The plastic water tube along the back of the appliance split twice and water valves failed 3 times. After awhile the sitting water eventually seeped into the underlayment of my hardwood floor and wicked its way out and under the floor of the eating area of my kitchen which then warped the floorboards terribly. I now have a warped, bumpy floor, very noticeable and will have to spend $3,000 to have the entire floor redone. After repeated attempts for relief from LG, I was told I had not saved all the broken parts so I had no evidence and therefore they would do nothing. Who saves the broken parts once they have been replaced? NEVER, NEVER purchase an LG refrigerator. Every time a serviceman came over he said Oh ya, LG is no good. This is not the first time I have had water and ice in the door. My last fridge was a Kenmore and never saw a sign of a leak. AGAIN, NEVER, NEVER buy one of these refrigerators.
Zero stars would be more like it! I have had an LG Steam Dryer for 2.5 years. It has never worked. I fortunately did purchase the Extended Service Plan from Home Depot. I have had it repaired 6 times and thats 12 service calls. It will heat a little for a few weeks and then stop working all together. The 6th repair, it didnt even heat the day the repair was done. Since then, Ive called numerous times and Assurant (the provided for Home Depots service plan) wont get back to me, wont send anyone to fix it, wont start a claim. I see it falls into the Lemon Law but if they can drag their feet for another month, one of the repairs falls off and then it isnt the Lemon Law any more. They refuse to do anything to help. Ive called Home Depot Corporate to see if they would do anything to help and was told no, you need to work with Assurant. I have also called the Gas Company to look at it to make sure it was hooked up correctly to begin with. It is hooked up correctly but they said the flame is so huge that its a total fire hazard and is now completely unhooked. So Im left with a $1200+ piece of junk and no way to dry any clothes. I will never shop at Home Depot nor will I buy LG anything again. Dont believe reviews that say LG is in the top for dryers because believe me, they are all junk!
I wish I had read all the reports about the LG refrigerator, particularly the French door model with icemaker housed in the refrigerator door. We purchased this supposedly state of the art refrigerator in March, but recently attached the water supply hose for the water/ice dispenser. The water dispenser worked fine, but the icemaker did not. A call went out to the service department and a technician came to fix the problem yesterday. Well, he replaced the motherboard and a fan at the back of the freezer. A brand new refrigerator needs to have these items replaced already??? Long story short, this morning, we woke up to a mess in the refrigerator/freezer because everything had melted. Neither the refrigerator nor freezer is working. Of course, service is closed on the weekends. So now, I have a $3000 storage box sitting in my kitchen with a houseful of guests arriving in a few days. My concern is after reading about all these problems reported on this website, we will be faced with continuous problems in the future (especially after the product goes off warranty!!!). LG... Life Good?? In my opinion, I think not if you own one of their refrigerators. Sorry to say. I am hopeful that this problem will be resolved, but after reading post after post about these same issues, I am not holding my breath. :(
I purchased a double oven in 2018 & within six months the numbers on all the knobs were coming off. Mind you, I paid over $1300 for this range. I requested replacement parts through filing a complaint with the BBB, because LG wanted me to buy the knobs, because the warranty had expired after emailing & talking with them on several occasions. First, they set the wrong color knobs, the second time they only sent two knobs, with one being damaged & the wrong style and the third time, all the knobs they sent were different & they only sent four. This is the worst company Ive ever had to deal with & the worst & cheapest made appliance Ive ever bought. Ive never had an oven where the numbers have came off the knobs. They are ripping off the consumers by producing these defective knobs & then trying to make you buy more & when you file a complaint, they give you the runaround & send you the wrong knobs, so they dont have to replace them for free. I have been going through this process for two months & still do not have the correct knobs on my oven. I spent over $5000 buying all new kitchen appliances and this is how they treat their customers. Its not like my appliances werent registered on their site, so they had the correct model & serial number. Buyers BEWARE when buying LG products. You will get the run around when trying to get the right parts & cheap production.
The freezer design and quality are acceptable; the upper part is not. Both door latches have broken; though not at the same time, it still necessitated two service calls. It was designed such that the latch cant be replaced. The entire side of the door had to be removed and a large part replaced. In general, the refrigerator feels as if it’s not well made, and built with materials that seem cheap. Well never buy LG again.
December 2008 we bought the pair of LG front load washer/dryer model of washer WM1333HW at Corbeil Electro. Weve made several complaints to LG about the problems with both machines in summer 2013. They send the Oxebo service company to repair both. For the washer they had to come 3 times, drain was not fixed properly and machine was doing awful lots of noise. They did came to fix the drain (after it had ruined my wood floor, without no compensation) but they never fixed the noise, they said it was normal even though it wasnt doing so much noise before.During the autumn 2014, the noise was getting more and more intense and was literally eating and ripping the clothes (the babys clothes were disappearing or getting ripped and the leftovers were found through the drain at each wash). I then did another service call on February 24, 2015 to LG, they said I would have to pay a fix price for each problem (about 200$ per problem for the noise, the eating of clothes and the drain). I decide to do nothing thinking it was too expensive. In April 2015, now the washer is no longer working, pieces were coming out of the drain, I called LG service again, but this time they said they wouldnt repair the machine at a fixed price. I had to call Oxebo service company myself and pay for time and material. When I asked why they wouldnt do the repair because I called a month before, they said the rules have been changed for this machine. I asked what this meant and the lady answered that for this serial number they wouldnt do the repair... I then asked to speak with a manager and the lady said he would call back in 48 hours, but after 2 weeks he never did.My thinking is that they know the washer had a problem to begin with, the company that repaired it did not repaired properly and the machine is broken and no one at LG wants to take responsibility for it. I dont mind paying for the repair, but they should at least offer to repair it since they know it wasnt repair properly a year ago.
I purchased an LG washing machine on November 26, 2011. The technician from LG came and put it to function by November 28, 2011. On my 1st use on December 4, 2011, I was shocked to discover a considerable leakage of water underneath the washing machine. I called for repair. First, they adjoined a torn part, then on the second call, they changed the host with leakage with another one. I discovered later in early January 2012 that some considerable number of clothes came out completely dry without being washed. I called for repair. The technician came and said that he cleared something that blocked the way for water passage. I discovered that Im still suffering of the same problem. I sat in front of the washing machine to watch it, then I found that no water was visible from the window and clothes came out with detergents. They came and changed the water balance. Frankly speaking, I lost count of how many times they would come and make repairs in a defective machine that doesnt function.I simply need the value of paid money. I need them to change the defective machine with another one thats functioning well, as I have lost patience with them over the last 6 months. I care about the image of the company, knowing that I also have other LG appliances at home, and I dont want to lose confidence in LG as a brand name. Please, if you are not concerned with my complaint, direct me to the one in charge to resolve my problem. Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation.
Although the purpose of a washing machine is to clean clothes, my LG front-loading machine washing machine makes my clothes and bedding dirty, covering them with disgusting dark brown or blackish stains!!! This happens in spite of my doing everything I can to keep the tub and door clean: regularly washing the tub using the tub-clean cycle with appropriate cleaners, always leaving the door and dispenser drawer open, draining and cleaning the pump filter (although this always entails water all over my floor since the drain is much too low to put an adequate container underneath to catch all the water)... Its no use! I could even live with the machines constant struggles to be balanced enough to do a proper spin, but this dirtying of what Im expecting to get clean is just too much. Shame on you LG for selling a product that does the opposite of its expected function!
The 10 year warranty that covers the compressor is not worth the paper it is printed on. My fridge is running hot to get it fixed under warranty I have to pay $250.00 for labor. The only thing covered is the part. I asked how long will it take to change the compressor, 2 to 3 hours Im told. At what cost per hour, cant tell me that. I asked if they could come out if it is the compressor can they leave it and I will have it installed, told no. I asked if I could find my own certificated LG technician told no they will not supply the compressor. So the only option is pay the $250 or risk having someone charge me double because LG cant tell me how much it will cost per hour for a tec. Also have an LG dishwasher not working, both appliances less than 6 years old. Either have a warranty or dont because this so called one is not worth it. I will never buy LG again.
Havent even had this microwave for 2 years and the clock is already broken, light stopped working inside and it was a expensive microwave to buy. Should have stuck with the one I originally had. Was cheap but never had an issue with it.
I recently purchased all new LG appliances in the new black stainless. Love the door in door fridge, enjoy the stove/oven and microwave, but the dishwasher is impossible. The rack design for glasses will not hold any size glass. Glasses continually fall and turn over during cleaning. Often the very top new utensil basket gets caught on the glasses and the racks will not close without being pushed aggressively. The bottom rack has collapsible sections that fall down without force and plates become scattered and stuck together during the clean cycle. The overall cleaning, look and quietness of the dishwasher is good. BUT you will become easily frustrated with the basket configuration. Wish I could return this impossible appliance!!!
I love the features. The quality of the machine is top notch. I can wash blankets, sheets, big batches of clothing. Everything comes out clean and I am confident that the machine will work every time. This is my 3rd same washer. It was more money then the others but worth it.
I just had to replace a roller bearing on my three-year-old LG dryer at the expense of $200. When I attempted to contact LG customer service, they were willing to forward my complaint to upper management without any expectation of a reply to me on my complaint. Evidently, this problem is quite prevalent on this particular model (DLE5955W), which I learned from reports on the internet. The serviceman that replaced the defective roller told me that the bushing/bearing was completely worn-out, which caused a rumbling noise, because of no lubricant which might have occurred because of its proximity to the heating element.
I have had my LG refrigerator just over 1 year and the compressor has gone out today. I can not get a repair person to even look at it, including those listed on the LG site, because of the issue with these compressors and the trouble getting parts.
I have been loading home dishwashers for over sixty years and my LGF7774 is the worst, and I must say, nearly impossible to load effectively. Because it doesn’t seem to be designed for actual dishes, it takes longer to load, as I have to move things around constantly to get them where they will actually get clean. The top rack areas for glasses seems to be slanted wrong and are the wrong width. As a result the glasses often fall over and break as I’m closing the tray. The bottom rack is even more frustrating. Those prongs that flop down to accommodate (what?), pans perhaps, may have seemed like a good idea to some engineer, but in use they plop down whether you want them to or not. The bottom of the lower rack could also use some redesigning. I have many square dishes and have to be over-cautious about seeing that the corners don’t extend downward where they will interfere with the spray arm.The dishes washed appear to be clean, but don’t smell clean. I’m asking the world of manufacturers, “If the user has to rewash things, or wash them before using a machine, how much water and electricity is that saving? And if I cover the food-left-on smell with a scented rinse does that make the dishes cleaner?” In fairness I must add that I just discovered that it has an extra rinse cycle and am at the moment trying that one out.
This WT5075CW washer is completely useless. I am going to have to replace it, and I have only had it a little over a year, but I cant take it anymore. It gets unbalanced on the spin cycle for no apparent reason. I only was like weight and size clothes together. I rearrange the clothes when it gets unbalanced and then restart. It starts filling with water again and stops unbalanced again. I try the Spin Only cycle. Same thing. I was the same loads every week and it is completely random as to which load will have this problem. Last week, it was the delicates – how can they cause an unbalance???!!! I am left with an entire load of sopping wet clothes that I have to drain over the top of the washer, hang out on the patio until the dripping stops and then dry in the dryer for over an hour. I called my BrandsMart extended warranty repair team out and they said that is how the washer was designed and charged me $60.
I purchased a condo in October 2010. The condo came with an almost new LG washer/dryer (WM2101). The washing machine has not lasted even 5 years. About a month ago, the washer shut down with an Le error. I called the LG 800 help number and was instructed on how to reset the machine. Multiple attempts at resetting did not resolve the problem. After determining an authorized LG service provider in the southern California area, I had a service representative come to assess/diagnose the error. The service provider could tell me that from the serial number of the machine, that it had been manufactured in November 2009 - less than a year before I purchased the condo. Now, it is May 2015 - not even 6 years since date of manufacture - and the machine is shot. The Le error is due to worn out bearings in the machine. During the less than 5 years that I have owned this condo (and the washer/dryer), the machine has not even been used that much. The cost of repair of the machine (by this authorized service provider) would exceed the cost of a new LG washing machine. Not only would the cost of repair of the washing machine be excessive, the LG service provider did not recommend keeping the existing LG dryer, which was stacked on top of the washer. So, I would have to pay for removal of both machines - with an additional cost of $160 to unstack the machines. As far as I am concerned, I never intend on purchasing another LG appliance. I am appalled that the US government allows companies to prey on US consumers with the current quality of workmanship of manufactured goods - especially large (and expensive) appliances. What happened to appliances that lasted 20+ years - or even 10 years? These large appliances that do not last but 5 years are ending up in our landfills - or having to be disassembled for recycling. Environmentalists and legislators - where are you?
I am writing you today regarding my LG3036-ST Gas range that I purchased from Best Buy earlier this year. Recently, while using my stove for the first time the top oven caught fire and the broiler would not shut off. This malfunction resulted in the fire department coming to my home to put out the fire and disconnect the stove. This was the second range that we had been given by LG, the first did not work upon arrival (3 of the burners did not work and the top oven would not turn on). Prior to buying my range, researched extensively for the best product for my limited funds and settled on the LG3036-ST. While I was disappointed that the first range did not work, I was horrified that the second malfunctioned and caught fire. Following the fire, we contacted Best Buy about getting a technician to look at the Range and to replace or fix it. Best Buy sent a representative who looked at the stove and decided that it did indeed malfunction and needed to be replaced. The tech even stated in his report that it was not a grease fire but was caused by a malfunction. As the range is under warranty from LG, Best Buy is requiring a return authorization number. So we began calling their customer service hotline to obtain this number. Our first contact was a call center employee who took our information and said that someone would contact us in 5 days. It was very frustrating that we had to wait 5 days to even TALK to someone who could potentially help us. Finally we spoke to someone at LG who forwarded us along to various departments and more equally unhelpful people. I think we have spoken to 6 or 7 people at this point, with each of them telling me that they couldnt issue a return authorization number but maybe the next person could. We are now heading into our third week of dealing with some of the most incompetent customer service I have ever encountered. The person we are now dealing with, Cindy ** at executive services, has stated to us that we need to obtain a fire report that shows it is a faulty valve that caused the fire. So, I took time off of work (which cost me money) and went to the fire station who then told me that in our city (Chattanooga, TN) they are not allowed to state cause of damage unless it is an arson investigation, which this is not. Their report is so broad, it simply states fire in the kitchen. After relaying this information back to **, she then told us that your technical department believes that the fire is a grease fire and not due to your products failure. They think this off of pictures taken by my wife on HER CELLPHONE. They are directly contradicting the actual repairman who has seen the oven in person based off pictures on a cellphone of the exterior of the stove. After a few days of stalling, LG agreed to return the stove yesterday June 19th only to rescind their offer today June 20th after their techs looked at the cellphone picture again. They literally took the word of a tech behind a computer in Korea over a tech who physically came to our house and diagnosed the problem. I realized in that moment that LG has no intention of helping us and are only seeking to further their corporate bottom-line. We have been more than patient as their customer service department has stalled, passed the responsibility and blatantly lied about the cause of the fire. There have been no apologies for our situation, no efforts to help and no basic human decency. To say that I am frustrated is a huge understatement. In building our home, we also purchased a few whirlpool appliances, two of which had a few small issues. Rather than give us the run-around, like your company has done, Whirlpool responded quickly and had a service person at our home within 24 hours who not only fixed the problem but went above and beyond in helping us. I was so pleased I have encouraged my friends and family to purchase Whirlpool products and I will continue doing so in the future. In direct contrast is the service LG has provided. I will never purchase an LG product again, I will also discourage everyone I know within my sphere of influence against purchasing LG products.
We bought a new LG refrigerator from Home Depot. After a couple of days we realized the bottom freezer drawer did not close properly. We contacted LG and the first repairmen they sent thought it was the slides that needed to be replaced and put in a order for that. This last one came and told us that wasnt the problem, and that the whole door and bracket assembly needed to be replaced. We asked for a new unit and they said no, we had to see if the replacement door and assembly worked. And it may take up to 5 weeks to get it them. This is a brand new unit. We should not have to suffer because they produced a poor product. This should be their problem, not ours. We will not purchase their products again. We are not impressed with the company, the product or their customer service.
I have read several reviews in regards to this matter, and they are correct. LG needs to do correct this matter. Aware of the situation we are always very careful around the stove and there are times the knob gets brushed and the gas leaks...yes LEAKS. You are totally unaware that the gas is leaking until someone smells the gas a few minutes later. This is totally unacceptable, and if you have small children extremely hazardous and dangerous. We are looking into buying childproof caps that will possibly fit over knobs and see if that works, and are contacting LG.
LGs 2 year old dishwasher nearly burned my house down then they quietly closed 6 cases I opened with 6 representatives to discuss the matter along with the damage their dangerous equipment caused. On the 6th attempt, I asked the representative if it was normal for the previous 5 cases to automatically be closed without any communications, she confirmed it was very odd and she never saw that happen before (all calls were recorded). Additionally, both racks rusted through after 2 years of use. LG agreed to send replacement racks since it was under warranty but they were never delivered. The LG dishwasher also created water damage under the counter, which resulted in a 6 crack under the counter. The root cause was the result of extremely poor engineering by LG. 1) Poorly designed seal which didnt use common design engineering knowledge, 2) an extremely poorly designed latch design, which places a hole in the latch an inch away from the poorly designed seal. The major safety hazard here is that the hole in the latch provides a direct path to the electrical switches in the door latch assembly. These issues are further discussed below.I originally provided LG with a video showing how their dishwasher shorted and burned at the LG dishwasher door latch switch. I discovered the melted door latch assembly and exposed shorted wires because the dishwasher smelled like it was burning. They clearly have design and quality issues. The risk is too high to ever consider an LG appliance again. I also have a 6 month old LG refrigerator and the compressor is occasionally making loud noises... more quality issues with another LG appliance. I also had the V20 for two years. It was a horrible phone. LG provided infrequent updates. So glad I returned to Samsung with the Note 9 and now the Note 20 Ultra... anyways...Here is the video showing the charred and melted door latch after it nearly burned my house down. I also included a second video to diagnose the issue, since there was no longer power to the unit. **. I bought their control board (potted PCBA) for about $200 and a door latch assembly with the correct switches. After installing the new board and latch assembly, I learned that the dishwasher seal suffered from excessive compression set due to a poor mechanical design by LG. Compression set is when the rubber remains compressed and doesnt return to its original shape. This typically occurs when rubber is compressed at more than 50%. The problem can be easily avoided by limiting seal compression to a maximum of 50%. This is basic design engineering knowledge but apparently, LG failed with that very trivial design requirement. In addition to a poorly designed seal, it turns out that my house almost burned down because of a really, really bad LG latch design where the latch opening created direct access to the electrical switches. This is a major safety hazard because the seal preventing water from leaking is about an inch away from the switches; this creates a direct path from the seal to the switches. Water was leaking through the top of the seal and directly through the latch assembly and into the switches. The distance from the seal to the switches is about 1-2 inches so if it leaks, it can cause a fire. The same issue was going to happen again if I continued using the dishwasher. At this point, its clear there is a safety hazard. I will likely start connecting with class action law firms to take further action, since LG continues to quietly close all cases I opened to discuss the matter. It is incredibly alarming that LG would learn of this information and choose to quietly silent my cases. It seems like LG doesnt care about the safety of their customers since they have not responded to my very troubling concerns. Im sure this will elicit a canned response from LG and a request to settle it privately. However, it is troubling that they wouldnt want to make this issue well-known and have a safety recall. My house almost burned down and they quietly closed 6 cases I opened. LGs behavior is beyond unethical. Its also beyond negligent. It seems like it approaches criminal. I can only imagine what other safety hazards they are covering up.There are so many horrible reviews and stories from so many people about LG. I had a bad experience with them last year, which led to me buying another refrigerator after less than 2 years of having the new refrigerator... which also has problems. At this point, maybe I should notify the major retailers of the need to have a safety recall. They may not care about their customers, but they will care about the cost and brand issues associated with a major safety recall... especially when they tried covering it up.
The LG over the range microwave MODELLMV1683ST stopped heating. This appliance was manufactured in April 2014 and I purchased it at Home Depot in May 2014 and in June 2015 it no longer heats. Can I get some help?
I have bought a washing machine. They deliver a damage piece. They play a big game with me for not giving a replacement. They have cheated me by passing the time. First they said to show damage part in photo they give replacement. Again they said, We can’t give replacement of product. We give replace the damage part, and after some time they again saying, We will not give replace. Very poor customer care.
The LG refrigerator belonged to one of my family members. Im assuming they got it because of its sleek design and functionality. It matched well with the other appliances in their kitchen as well. It worked extremely well and had great, convenient compartments. The display on the water/ice dispenser was attractive. I honestly really liked the fridge and there was nothing that I would have changed. It was a perfect fridge. The fridge had everything I would ever want and need in a fridge and more. There was nothing that I disliked about the appliance.
I bought an LWD3081ST double wall oven. The thermostat faulted twice in past year. I paid $7.00 for its part and would cost several hundred to service. Obviously, the design has flaws and I got no service from LG. Their customer service is rude and unhelpful. There are no return calls despite complaint. This oven cost $3,000 and company doesnt stand by product.
I own an LG F8068LDP. An ** engineer might have developed the said machine while he was in a heavily drunken mood. I never saw or heard such an ** machine. It does not wash properly even if I use all varieties of washing powder and use different options. It discolors the white clothes into yellow shade and it creates small dots over the clothes. I even suspect that it creates small holes to the clothes.
I purchased this microwave on Amazon a little over 2 years ago. The plastic tabs that hold the glass in place randomly broke one day while not even in use. LG does not care because the warranty is only for 1 year. They want to sell me a replacement door for $115 for a $250 microwave. There is no way the door costs this much. I refuse to buy anything else LG.
I am at my wits end. I have an LG gas stove. I have already gone through 4 sets of knobs, the original ones, 2 sets that I purchased, and 1 set that LG sent (which they told me were now made better). The set LG sent me have also broken and I am turning my stove on and off with pliers. The reason LG sent me a free set was because I called them and told them I walked into my house and smelled gas and my husband and two grandkids were asleep which was unusual. The knob on the stove looked like it was off but because it was broke it didnt turn off the gas completely. If I hadnt come home when I did it could have been very serious. I am ready to call whoever I have to to get this problem resolved. This is a problem that could be deadly. These knobs should have been recalled a long time ago especially after reading the amount of complaints about this very thing. I look forward to your response.
My 2.5 year old LG refrigerator Model LFX 25978ST/00 stopped working--first ice machine failed, then freezer and then finally entire fridge--lost all my food. Called an appliance repair and they tried replacing a $150 motherboard they tested and determined had failed. That did not fix the problem. Conclusion was the compressor was also failed. LG guarantees its compressor for 10 years, BUT, only deals with certain repair centers, so I was already out $200 and needed to call one of only two LG-affiliated centers in my area. One quoted me 2300 for labor and said the repairs rarely last and I should just buy a new fridge. Another quoted me 300 for labor, but demanded an advance before scheduling the repair and said that ordering the part and scheduling could take up to 2-3 weeks. What is obvious, having read MANY similar accounts, is there needs to be a class action lawsuit against LG. Furthermore, there needs to be much more attention to quality control, parts have to be made to last longer and all of us are going to have to pay more for our appliances and/or those profiting at the upper echelons of these companies are going to have to share the spoils with their workers to fabricate better products. My GE fridge bought in 1980, lasted 30 years. Should have had it repaired and paid the price for higher electricity vs tossing three refrigerators in a landfill that are energy efficient but, doing nothing other than cluttering the earth.
I got a floor model LG LSC27925ST. Great deal but it broke in 5 days. They exchanged it. I was happy for 1 month. The compressor broke and it took almost a month right before Thanksgiving. But it was a aftermarket part, I guess okay. One month later, the heater coil broke. I dont trust my refrigerator. They approved the 150 food loss and they took it back. I wish I never bought LG. I will never buy it again. I hope this help someone.
Love the sensors that are inside to control the cooking of the unit, great for popcorn and re-heating. This microwave has the ability of re-heating a cup of coffee without giving it that burnt taste. We especially like the increased capacity of the inside of the oven itself, and like the way it fits under the cabinet over the stove and is vented to the outside.
We looked for a stainless steel refrigerator. We compared all brands at our local Home Depot. The lg was the best priced for the value. The space was used to maximum capacity with shelving and actual functional drawers that can be configured to meet your needs.
Bought my refrigerator in January of 2019. Compressor went out in Nov 2020. LG replaced, now June 2020 unit will not cool, A and E come out and tech recovers freon and recharges and says if unit doesnt cool down in 24 hrs it will have to be replaced, called LG and they said we need to make three attempts to repair it with A and E talking to their tech support!!! In covid 19 pandemic and LG wants to train people in and out of peoples houses after A and E said it could not be repaired, company is a complete joke!!! Do your homework before you buy LG anything.
Just using the refrigerator. Normally the defrost does not work. The repairman told me to unplug the refrigerator to let it defrost for 24 hours. Of course that means all of the food is spoiled. Home Depot has informed Im stuck with this piece of junk. After 24 hours I am suppose to plug it back in and hope it runs and cools properly. If it does not the repairman will order a fan which will take a week to get. In the meantime I and a bunch of spoiled food and no refrigerator. Do not buy an LG! LFXS30726S.
Purchased LG refrigerator in Nov. 2014. Jan. 2018 and my fridge and freezer are both at room temperature. All food is now garbage. Today repairman said this is very common for LG. Now waiting for a part to be available so repairman can come back to do the repairs. I paid $2400.00 for this fridge and it only lasted just over 3 years!!! My first fridge was $800.00 and I had it for 28 years. I would think not just twice, but more like 100 times before buying an LG refrigerator again. LG needs to step up the quality or get out of the business!!!
We purchased an LG high-efficiency washer several years ago and have had the same problems described by others. The washing machine smells of mildew often and I tried to control it by running empty cycles with bleach and also empty baking soda loads. The baking soda sometimes does not completely come out of the detergent drawer and we then have to do another rinse cycle. Another problem is it stains on our clothes. They appear randomly and we are unable to remove them. It has been very expensive and time-consuming to run extra empty loads to try and keep the washer clean, get rid of the smell and hopefully get rid of whatever is causing the stains. The biggest expense for us has been the ruined clothes. This is a never-ending problem and the only solution is purchasing a new washer that works properly! This LG has been an incredible money pit and disappointment!
My daughter used a microwave-safe bowl to melt chocolate in my LMC0975 LG microwave. Two seconds after she pressed Start, the interior wall of the oven caught on fire. She immediately shut the microwave oven off and unplugged it. She is staying at my place while I am away. I told her to call LG. She was told by a rep that because the warranty has expired, she has to pay someone to come and see if the issue is the magnetron, which has a 10-year warranty, or take the oven into a repair centre. This is not possible due to Corona, and I dont think we should have to pay to have it checked. This seems like a fire hazard, and I am surprised they had no other support available and did not seem to think their product catching fire was something of great concern. I would like LG to detail how they will take care of this issue for me.
Purchasing the matching LG washer and dryer was my first LG appliance purchase - and it will be my last. I have usually purchased appliances by Kenmore or Maytag and would have the appliances for years before they had to be serviced. However, that has not been the case with the LG 7.4 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Steam in White, Model # DLGX3571W. I purchased the dryer on June 27, 2015 and it was delivered July 2, 2015. About a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that the clothes were not drying after a full cycle. The first time, I increased the drying time and made it more dry, still the clothes did not dry. Finally, after the third cycle the clothes were dry. Since that time, it has taken several drying cycles to dry one load of clothes. I cant imagine how this will affect my gas bill. Because the dryer is only about 6 months, I requested a new dryer. I figure that if I started repairing a dryer that is only 6 months old, Ill be repairing it forever. But I was told by a very condescending executive manager, Cortel, that I would not get a new machine because that is not how it works. I tried to rationalize with him and told him that I was willing to have a service tech check the machine, but if there was a problem I didnt want it fixed, I wanted it replaced with a new machine. That was like talking to a wall. So my next step is to file a complaint with the President of the company. I would caution consumers against purchasing Model #DLGX3571W in particular and in dealing with LG in general because of their unwillingness to be fair to their customers.
First, one shelf, then another. The plastic cracks and then disintegrates. If I could rate this with a negative star, I would. Ive owned several refrigerators and in fact, we have an old fridge in the basement which is over 10 years old and it works well. It just didnt fit in the place upstairs. Nothing is broken on that older fridge. But THIS LG fridge, is in terrible shape. I just took out some shelves to clean and my middle shelf with the glass panel and meat keeper, disintegrated in my hand. Its in pieces. Im not rough on my fridges and I have never had this happen before. AVOID LG products will be my appliance mantra going forward.
Should have researched better. This dishwasher sucks! Very low dish capacity. Thought we were getting a deal on it. Only thing we got a deal on was price. It was cheap, but not worth the money. Its loud and frankly, does not do a very good joy drying the dishes either.
We bought all brand new top of line LG appliances...refrigerator alone well over 2,000.00 in Fall 2017. Loved the new appliances but in Fall 2019 a compressor went out in the refrigerator. Yes, LG covered the replacement and repair but what they don’t want to tell you is the refrigerator will never run quiet again. We have had to call the tech back three times to come look at it because it runs so loud. We bought the product because it was super quiet and our kitchen is close to our family room and bedroom. It will wake you up at night. It runs with vibrating noises, humming, etc and LG’s fix is sending an email with acceptable refrigerator noises. What a joke.I told them if it would have ran like this when I originally purchased it would have been taken back in the first 30 days. The tech comes and states it’s a little louder than normal but not a single thing is being done. The tech calling LG while he was here was a joke too...all they could say to do is take off some clips to see if vibrating stopped...guess what?!?! It didn’t and it is still loud as ever. I will never buy another LG product and would never recommend.
We purchase a Stainless Steel double door LG refrigerator and the compressor failed after 2 years. Base on reviews and talking to service representatives, the reliability of the LG were not well thought of. We contact a used refrigerator supplier to request selling the old unit and the told us we could not give it to them. I will not purchase an LG refrigerator in the future because of the history of unreliable compressor.
Does NOT clean clothes! Every load is 1:36 or 1:56 minutes (repairman recommend extra rinse). Washer moves from wall, dispenser doesnt empty. Clothes come out with dry spots. I was told to just wash 1 set of sheets at a time even though it holds 3. At 2 hours a load that takes all day! My bad reviews dont show up on their site. DO NOT BUY!!!
Our white and light colored clothes started looking dingy. It was a result of the washing detergent not being adequately rinsed out of the clothes. The certified LG repairmen came several times; however, no solution was found. After much going back and forth, I got tired and purchased a different washer. Now, Im stuck with a $2,000+ LG washing machine that is in my way. I feel as though LG has not upheld their product.
I have had many problems with the compressor and main board on my fridge within a span of three weeks. The technician came to service it multiple times, replacing the compressor twice, the refrigerant three times, and the mainboard twice. It broke for the third time yesterday and is not cooling again. Apart from the inconvenience of not having a fridge, Ive had to throw away groceries multiple times. Customer service wants to send the same technician out to replace all those parts a third time. I refused because there is no guarantee it will function properly for more than a week, bringing me more inconvenience with the holidays approaching. Customer service only offered me this solution and would not budge on my refusal to pay for the past labor. I will buy another fridge and never will recommend or consider an LG appliance again in the future.
LG Waveforce washer is constantly off balance. The manual will tell you that you cannot do a small load. Believe them!! Unless you are willing to put 2 sheets in with your delicates, and that sometimes doesnt work, it is impossible to wash a small load. It takes hours to complete a wash load due to the off balance signal. You actually have to babysit the washer. I often take the wash out still heavily wet to hang on a line. Would never buy this product again.
My 1st review 10/2020 was not acknowledged... My issues with LG was with my dryer shortly after I purchased my combo from Sears in 2004. Over the last year or so our washing machine has been leaking more and more. The mysterious thing is that it’s intermittently. Well, it finally decided to go all the way crazy & water was spewing from the bottom of the washing machine from somewhere. By the time we noticed it our washing area and hallway was completely flooded upstairs and water was leaking all through our house downstairs. It was horrible! I’m now stuck with a washer we don’t want anymore out of fear of flooding & knowledge the manufacturing company will be no help. After researching I see I’m not alone, but nothing has yet to be done by LG. Life’s not Good LG!
