Whirlpool refrigerator WRT1LTZW00 - Bought refrigerator, works ok but makes noises that will wake you up in any room of the house. Had Whirlpool products for over 40 years. Why would someone make something that noises. Service came, said they all like that with new gas, cant do anything. Find hard to believe this was consumer tested. 6 weeks old, cant sleep with noise. Has anyone had same problem?

I bought the WTW4815EW0 Whirlpool washer. Worse machine ever! It’s take forever to wash a load, there’s no way it’s efficient when it takes twice as long to wash one load. It doesn’t sense the water level correctly, Its noisy, and after only having it 3 years it crashed on me. I refuse to waste money fixing the piece of junk and when I go to purchase a new one it won’t be a Whirlpool.

I have a model FG1F4034T3NOV water heater that was a problem since day one. The pilot will not stay lit, and apparently, there was some sort of class action lawsuit due to a defective part that I missed out on because I didnt know about it. The telephone representative is quick to point out that it is out of warranty due to the date of manufacture and that it needs about $200 in parts because I cant find the receipt from 4 years ago, when I bought it from Lowes. The company flat out refused to do a courtesy replacement for parts or discount them.

WFW97HEDW, WGD95HEDW American made and equivalent to LG and Kenmore. Size fitted our space available. Price was a bit higher than the Korean models with similar or better features. We bought and returned three consecutive Whirlpool models from Sears. Though we never really got to put the dryers to the test, nor did they fail, the washers were of such a poor quality that they broke down within 1-2 weeks of installation. Eventually we switched to LG and have had no problems. When the Whirlpool fails it locks your clothes inside and to open and retrieve your clothes is just short of impossible. We really, really really wanted to buy the American made brand and we were willing to pay the premium to do so, but these washers were awful.

I have never posted a negative product review but must do so now. The refrigerator is 1 1/2 years old at most and has been well taken care of. I noticed today that the finish at either side of the bottom of each refrigerator door handle has a problem. I couldnt tell if the finish was pitting or is just discolored. I called customer service and expected that they would help, especially since we have an extended warranty. Representative number one told me that the extended warranty only covers problems that affect the function of the product. I spoke to her supervisor and then her supervisor. I got plenty of apologies but no support. I offered to send pictures, but they were not even interested in checking out the problem. After speaking to them, I took the handle off and I see now that the handle cut into some sort of film that exists on the metal. (I am not talking about the protective plastic coating that is on the the refrigerator at delivery.) The film is lifting off the surface and creating discoloration. If Whirlpool was at all concerned, I think this issue could be fixed with some sort of gasket to keep the metal handle from cutting into the surface. Im hoping the problem is static, but hard to say what will happen. If they had been interested in trying to understand the cause of the problem, it would have been easier to accept the limitations of the warranty. It would have demonstrated an interest in avoiding this problem for other consumers in the future. My last Whirlpool product. Period. Good luck if you decide to do business with them.

Purchased heavy duty dual steam washer and dryer in 2008. Recently got some error codes that we could not fix. Had one service company come in and they could not figure it out. Had a certified Whirlpool company come in and they could not figure it out. They called Whirlpool technicians and they were even unsure of what is wrong. Said they could keep ordering parts and trying them to fix the problem. And of course I would be responsible for the parts. And no guarantee it would be solve the problem. Called Whirlpool direct, to no satisfaction. They said they could send the same company out and have them call the tech line while on site and try to troubleshoot the problem. However, would have to wait another 3 days to get him out. Been a week without washer. I have had washers bought previously last over 10 years without any problems. If these machines are breaking or control boards are going out after about 4 years, then Whirlpool has a bigger problem. Whirlpool supervisor was only offering to maybe a discount on the parts needed, without even knowing if they could fix the problem. Seems to me like they really dont care. Very dissatisfied, will definitely not recommend this product to anyone. And if it ever gets fixed, I am going to sell them immediately.

Called 8/24/15 - spoke with representative about our two year old washer. Nothing Whirlpool can or will do.They have no other complaints about rust inside the lid and inside rim at bleach dispenser nor chipping of paint from lid. When asking the Whirlpool representative about the rust, he assured us there were no other complaints. This is hard to believe since our recent research clearly shows that other brands have had to replace tops due to rust. As for clothes not cleaning, no response to this issue. Whirlpool has not trained salespersons and therefore at the mercy of Lowes hard sales tactics and we were very delinquent in researching numerous complaints before purchasing Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Model WTW8240YWD - Ranked lowest possible from ConsumerAffairs with hundreds of complaints. Whirlpool should be ashamed of product - clothes do not come clean, there is no soak cycle, no way to open mid cycle without losing all water, washer smells horribly, must be cleaned - are you kidding? Who cleans the washer that is supposed to clean clothes with a special cleaner?? We understand safety issues of water in open machine, wonder if Whirlpool understands the need to have a soak feature to clean clothes. Undereducated buyers like us and the totally undereducated salesperson at Lowes were obviously a horrible combination. It was all about sales for them. No one mentioned and we had no clue that the huge drum would not clean clothes even using less water than a traditional machine. We thought platinum meant a high quality machine. It clearly was a cleverly used buzz word for sales not a premier cleaning machine. Never, never, never purchasing Whirpool anything again. Wonder if Whirlpool cares, if they read the ConsumerAffairs reports, if they respond. Our hard-earned money is wasted. Our clothes are dirty, the washer smells, and the top is rusting out!

Bought in October 2014. Died December 2015. The previous Whirlpool microwave this unit replaced was 10 years old and carried a 5 year warranty on the magnetron. Imagine my dismay to find out this unit carried only a 1 year warranty on the magnetron. So 2 months past warranty expiration Im left with a dead unit. I performed elementary troubleshooting. The unit has a fuse on the 120 Volt input. But the unit must be disassembled to gain access to the fuse. So what SHOULD be a five minute job turned into an hour and a half. The fuse wasnt the problem - replacement fuses blew like popcorn. Fuse placement within the unit without regard for service considerations is a poor design. To their credit, Whirlpool agreed to cover the cost of repairs if I would pay for labor. I agreed. A tech came out and looked at the unit. He said that he would have to order a bunch of parts and that he would be back in contact by the end of the week. Three weeks went by. There was no call from the tech; my messages on his voicemail generated no response. So a couple of days later I purchased a replacement from a competing manufacturer.

We purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator Model Number WRS555SIHZ06 Serial Number HRA2506806 on July 15th 2021 from Lowes. First one from Lowes came off the truck damaged so working out of a cooler in the kitchen for 2 more weeks. Now 4 months later the compressor is out and all the food spoiled like $400 bucks gone and food is expensive these days. I called and Whirlpool said no food allowance and no replacement. Fridge can be brought over - so repairman will come out in 6 days and then say he has to order parts then I wait two more weeks then the repair. So 3 weeks without a fridge with the holidays coming up and people to feed and food to cook. This is going to be interesting. I hate Whirlpool Refrigerator - never again will I purchase one of this appliances. The GE I had for 12 years and no problem at all for 12 years. What is going on with these companies????

The problem started with an error code F3F1 on dryer. Called A & E Factory Service who is company that are certified Whirlpool technicians. They have been out 7 times, March 26, April 1, April 8, April 13, April 27, May 5 and May 12. During those times they ordered and replaced the main control board 3 times and a thermistor for which we paid for parts and labor. The company now says they think we have a lemon and we are supposed to hear back within 48 hours whether we are going to be refunded a total of $504.48 we have advanced for repairs less the service call. They referred us back to Whirlpool and said they would no longer come out as the dryer cannot be repaired! Talked to Whirlpool customer service that says we didnt have an extended warranty and there is nothing they can or will do. This dryer was purchased on 12/31/11. They took the position that because there is no recall for defective parts for this model, there is nothing they will do. Attached is our purchase receipt and all service invoices regarding this matter.

My husband and I bought a new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Series Washer and D
My husband and I bought a new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Series Washer and Dryer in November 2012 from Lowes. My clothes, especially towels, smell like mildew and mold since I have used it. I thought it was just me. I have even thrown some items away when they smelled so bad. I love doing laundry but this not being able to have clean smells was driving me crazy. I tried everything I could think of but to no avail. Finally in October of this year 2015 my washing machine began to make a loud noise. My husband said sounds like a bearing is going out. I immediately sought a repairman thinking that it would be a simple fix. $420 later I had a new bushing, bearing, sleeve, etc. The machine was still making noises even louder and my repairman came back, this time to the tune of $180. So far weve spent $600 on a washer that we gave a little over $800 for. Now I have a UL code showing up when my load is almost completely done and guess what? My repairman says he has yet another part that should take care of the noise but he wasnt so sure about the panel. He may have to do a little research on that. I think all I have is a repairman that is a parts replacer so we were forced to purchase a new washer yesterday and my Cabrio is sitting in my garage. If someone needs a boat anchor just please contact us. I wrote a letter to the corporate office of Whirlpool before I even knew that so many consumers were having problems. Two repairmen told me that the Cabrios were junk. Most of them belonged in the landfill. Whirlpool customer service called me and offered me a discount coupon on a new washer. I told them that I didnt think I needed another piece of crap. I also questioned them as to why they could foist these crappy machines off on the American public. They had no apologies whatsoever. While researching what brand washing machine to invest in, I realized that there were numerous complaints regarding the Whirlpool Cabrio. With as many consumers who have been taken advantage of with this awful product, why cant someone do something?

We have a wtw5500xw2 washing machine we bought 03/2012. We can no longer use it. The machine would not spin or agitate so the clothes do not get clean or get the water out and after the cycle is done we have to wring them out after to be able to take them to the laundromat. So two repair companies and 3 months later we find out that it is the wiring harness that is the culprit. After a new motor and a shift actuator, we contacted Whirlpool only to be advised that the washing machine is out of warranty and that we are out of luck. If the company has a known issue about these wiring harness they should be looking into it and changing suppliers or offering to replace the wiring harness at a discount to its customers. I will not be buying a Whirlpool appliance ever again. I would recommend going with a Kenmore. I have had a Kenmore dryer that I got 19 yrs ago that we got used and only had to replace the heating element.

I am so unhappy with my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer. The clothes get so tangled and twisted that it stretches my sweaters totally out of shape. There is not enough water on any of the cycles that really clean your clothes. I saved my money so I could get something energy efficient and look great in my new laundry room. I would never recommend this product. Your sheets will not come clean because they ball up in the middle of the washer and come out partly dry. I have had this set for 3 years and now the bearing is gone; it leaks from the bottom and throws grease all over my new floor. I have battled the horrible odor since the second month. It smells so bad that I make sure I dont wash the day I have guest over. I am so disappointed and mad at myself for not reading any reviews before I spent my hard earned money. So here I am now 3 years into my ownership and having to spend more money on a defective product. The sad part is that I really thought I was getting something nice that would last me and my husband for years. There are only two of us in our household. This machine does not work properly; now it is broken, but hey it really looks good.

Weve had our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine for about 3 1/2 to 4 years. At first, it left our clothes wrinkled, so I purchased a steamer to help remove the wrinkles. After a few months, it started making a terrible clanging noise. My husband was able to repair and it ran okay for a while. Over a few months, it got louder and louder. It does not get our clothes completely clean. Some even come out dry on one side. Now, we are getting an F50 code and it shuts down after 1 minute. After reading the reviews, I agree Cabrio is a bad product. What happened to the trustworthy, best value Whirlpool name?

We purchased the Whirlpool double oven gas range from Lowes in July of 2014
We purchased the Whirlpool double oven gas range from Lowes in July of 2014. The oven heat that boils out onto the stove top when you use either oven makes it difficult to handle the pots on the range top. The first time I used both ovens at the same time the plastic front to the control panel started to melt and the fumes were horrible. It was under warranty so Whirlpool replaced it with an identical panel that also melted when I used the top oven and range top at the same time. Its out of warranty so Whirlpool says its not their problem. From reading these other complaints it is obvious to me that customer satisfaction is not important to Whirlpool - just that profit margin. Build cheap - sell high should be their motto.

Whirlpool claims this technology works to clean the oven; however after one month of use and one casserole spill, we attempted 3x to use this system and the cleaning process was a total failure. The gravy spill on the bottom and mild oil residue on the sides from roasted vegetables was the same as before the cleaning cycle was tried. The cleaning kit accessory from the company was a joke. It consisted of 2 sponges and a small scraper! We purchased the slide in model WEE745HOFS. Buyers of any and all Whirlpool products with Aqualift BEWARE... It does not work. We have since replaced the product with a range with the traditional cleaning process system that has worked for decades in most major brands.

I bought the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher on November of 2014 from Home
I bought the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher on November of 2014 from Home Depot. The first thing that happened was that it started to leak. I called Whirlpool and someone came out to look at it. It took about a week for them to come. They said it was installed incorrectly and they do not handle installation issues. They left. I took the dishwasher out and reinstalled according to the guide. It still leaked. The dishwasher had to be perfectly level before the leaking stopped. The next issue was that the dishes were not getting clean my dishes. The top rack was the worse. I called Whirlpool again. They came out, took the dishwasher apart and said the part called the diffuser had become dislocated. He placed it back into its proper position and left. This was April of 2015. The dishwasher did an ok job. Some dishes still came out with food on it. By the end of 2015, close to the warranty expiring, the top rack was no longer being washed. I took the dishwasher apart from the inside and found the diffuser was not in the right position again. So every time I want to run the dishwasher I need to take the spray arms out and the racks until I have access to the bottom of the dishwasher to reset the diffuser. Now the warranty was expired, Whirlpool wanted about $150 just to come look at the dishwasher. Sears wanted $59. So I called Sears. Their tech said the dishwasher has a broken motor. For Sears to fix it would be around $400. I called Whirlpool. I felt that the motor was already broken within the warranty period and that the problem finally got diagnosed now. Whirlpool felt this wasnt the case. Their price to fix was also close to $400. Now I need to buy a new dishwasher and throw away a one year old dishwasher. Only this time I will buy the extended warranty. Overall, poor product, poor customer service, and poor warranty coverage.

Purchased a Whirlpool double oven (WGE745COFH) in September 2018. It is now
Purchased a Whirlpool double oven (WGE745COFH) in September 2018. It is now May 2019. After 5 service technicians verified the erratic temperature fluctuations in the ovens, Whirlpool insists that a +25 degree to -25 degree fluctuation in a heating cycle is normal. The motherboard was changed 3 times, and the sensors were changed 3 times, including hard-wiring the last set of sensors. I called Whirlpool and customer service says that is normal. Ever tried baking at a 350 degree setting that fluctuates from 375 degrees down to 312 degrees while trying to maintain a 350 degree setting? I understand there has to be some fluctuation, but either it took a lot of extra time or burned my food consistently. Ridiculous. So, with the help of wonderful people at Lowes (where I purchased the double oven) Whirlpool is refunding my money and Lowes has taken back the slide-in double oven. In my quest to replace it, multiple appliance sellers have told me that all the new ovens having motherboards and sensors have big fluctuations in the oven heating cycles. I find that unacceptable. My husband and other family members have worked daily in an industry where temperatures were critical. They used ovens that could maintain temperature within 5 degrees of set temperature with analog controls. The home consumers are being ripped off with cheap, sub-standard parts making throw away appliances and getting away with it. What do I buy? Havent figured that out yet, but have purchased a countertop toaster oven that bakes beautifully.

I purchased an expensive dishwasher made by Whirlpool and sold at Lowe’s. Immediately upon receiving the dishwasher I noticed a good size scratch. I had it serviced within one month of purchase because dishes were coming out dripping wet. Technician came out and told me I needed to add rinse aid. I had been using rinse aid, which I think is ridiculous to have to buy an additional bottle of something that’s not even cheap just so this thing dries dishes but moving on...Now it’s been 1.7 years and I’m having more problems. Top rack of dishwasher is broken and falls to the side every time you pull it out. The door to dishwasher also no longer has any spring. I take very good care of my things and this just unbelievable. I called Lowe’s they won’t help because it’s been more than a year! I guess Lowe’s can’t stand behind their merchandise for more than a year because they know they’re selling garbage. I called Whirlpool directly and was told they would come out and service my appliance for a minimum charge if $189! I have no words. I need to buy a stove in the next week and I assure you I will steer clear of Whirlpool. Like the title of my review I feel absolutely robbed.

My 3 door fridge is roomy, well lighted and well organized. I love the fact that when I open the doors, I can see everything at a glance. The freezer section is also well organized and holds plenty. Being able to get filtered water and ice in the door is convenient. The main reason I picked Whirlpool is that it is made in the USA! I want to support American manufacturers that employ my fellow citizens.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer - I have had all of the problems that all of the other 900 people have complained about! The washer does not wash anything properly. I have even experienced having something such as a bit of cereal stuck to a dishcloth and it was still on there after a full wash cycle. All of my whites are now grey and stained. All of the sheets end up with a huge dirty ring the size of the tub in the middle of them. Everything comes out in a tangled mess of knots! Very frustrating! Everything comes out smelly as if its been sitting in the washer for days. Nothing smells fresh and clean like it should. Energy wise, we are using two and three times the amount of energy as I am washing and drying things for two or three times over, which brings me to the dryer. I put one single load in and it takes two or three cycles to dry it properly. This is unacceptable and I cannot believe that we cannot get some satisfaction from someone in this regard! We bought our set from Sears and I feel that they obviously know of this problem and still continue to sell Whirlpool products! Weve all been taken for a ride and Whirlpool should be held accountable for ripping people off this way. Someone please help!

Washing clothes is a nightmare. I am constantly removing clothing from the washing machine that have been torn and left with holes. I am utterly frustrated. Because the machine is more than three years old, there has been no solution to my problem. I have now replaced clothing items in excess of $2,000. I am always here that they will send a repairman and yet there is still the problem. This machine is costing me too much money. The newer machines have fixed the problem. There is no gap between the drum and the doorway or rubber piece. I want that piece to stop this nightmare. This machine has taken a dream of mine and demolished the experience. I hate washing clothes but more so having a machine at home and then going to the laundromat to stop the chaos with doing laundry at home.

Purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher less than 2 years ago, began noticing a mildew buildup inside. Cleaned it, and bought dishwasher cleaner products, but the problem continued. Realized the dishwasher heater was not working. The dishwasher was staying wet, therefore causing mold. Called appliance repair, and spent 3/4 of the price of the 2 year old dishwasher to repair it. The control box malfunctioned. I was told by the repairman that that was unusual. At the suggestion of the repairman called Whirlpool. I was told since it was beyond the 1 year warranty they will comp us nothing. As a consumer I have no other recourse but to warn others, and to never buy a Whirlpool product again!

Theres no reason we have to wait so long after paying for the extended warranty in this day and age, and paying good money for the washer.

Model CAE2745FQ0, Serial #C72680766 - Purchased this coin op clothes washer 2/2/2018 at Brandsmart, Deerfield Beach FL. Would not empty or spin correctly; 1st service call 2/28/2018. (Less than 30 days from purchase date). 3/21/2018 called Whirlpool again as same problem continues (as listed above). Washer is not being overloaded. Whirlpool repair visit scheduled again for 3/23/2018. This is the 2nd repair time since we purchased the washer on 2/28/2018. Purchased the same model 2 years ago, and experienced repeated problems to the point where we got rid of that machine and purchased the most current model referenced here. We are looking for a full refund of the purchase price as it appears that this recently purchased machine is on its way to be a repeat performance of the 1st machine that we got rid of (that was purchased 2 years ago). Again, we want the full purchase price refunded, which is $900.88. This machine is not even 2 months old. Thank you.

Bought this dishwasher (Model No WDF530PAYB3) in 2013. First the plastic latch for the dishwasher detergent door broke. Then, the paint on the face of the door started to bubble, peel, and now is rusting. Next, the heating element broke. Lastly, it started leaked on my wood floor causing damage. 2013-2014 I bought that Dishwasher, Micro-Hood, Stove, Refrigerator, Washer, and Dryer all Whirlpool. All the kitchen appliances were Whirlpool Gold. They would not fix their product. Offered a discount on a new one as if I will ever buy Whirlpool again.

Whirlpool Cabrio Elite Top Loading Washer Model WTW8240YW - I add my complaint to the roughly 2000 others about this machine and Whirlpool. Two months after the warranty expired the machine started making a loud noise on the spin cycle. I called a repairman and he said it was the main bearing going bad and this was a common problem with this model. He recommended buying a new washer rather than repairing the unit because the cost to repair was greater than what I paid for the washer. I called Whirlpool and all they offered was to send a repairman at my cost. This is terrible service for a documented problem that they have. I will buy a new washer but it will not be a Whirlpool!

I purchased a Whirlpool Microwave GMH6185XVQ1 on 7/2010 for kitchen remodel. It needed a magnetron repair just after one year warranty ran out. I called Whirlpool and they agreed to repair. Whirlpool sent me an offer for an extended contract. I purchased it. Since microwave was out of warranty at time of contract purchase, I was told there would be a 60-day waiting period. Microwave broke again on 3/2012. I waited until extended contract was in effect. I was told since microwave broke before contract was valid, I would have to pay out of pocket to repair, then contract would be valid after that. It appears (per internet research) these microwaves have bad magnetrons that need frequent repair. I wrote to BBB to complain.

It is 70 inside the refrigerator although the freezer portion is doing a fine job. This unit is not even 3 years old yet! To top it off, the unit only has one year warranty on any part. The repair person is now here and replacing the control board. This piece alone is costing me $184.12. Then the labor hours and service call. I should have trashed it and bought a new, different brand. Not even three years old. My last refrigerator/freezer lasted 13+ years with no problems.

Whos got time for this? We paid 899.00 plus taxes for it, now we paid a repairman 99.00 to tell us its not worth fixing. He said the bearings were completely shot. As he was leaving he said his next service call was for the same type of washer! Whatever happened to appliances that last! Updated on 07/09/2020: This fridge freezes produce. A part was replace to solve this problem but it has never worked properly. After several attempts to correct temperature fluctuation, Whirlpool decided it was working within their specs and advised us to set the temp higher to solve the problem. So we are doing that but now if the temp is too high the ice is watery and falls out of the ice compartment when we have finished using the ice dispenser. So we lower the temp and it again freezes the produce. Do NOT buy a Whirlpool!!! If you have any questions look at whirlfreezefood story...Original Review: Purchased September 2019. Worked for a couple weeks and then Freezes the produce. I have put it in the center drawer and in the main fridge still freezes. Go to ** for full story and recording of a message Whirlpool left me.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio just over a year ago. The washing machine does not clean clothes! While under warranty, a service tech came out to look at it. After hearing the problem, he replied that it was a common complaint and that he could not fix the machine because the problem was that it is so poorly made that it simply does not work. His recommendation was to come to terms with the loss of a thousand dollars as Whirlpool would not rectify the problem.Whirlpool really showed their true colors when they refused to cover the repair tech visit. Whirlpool supervisor Kitty explained to me that customer advice was not covered under warranty and that we would have to pay the bill. Highlights of her argument were that we should just rinse the clothes multiple times and they would eventually get clean. She also mentioned that if the machine really did not work as described, we should have complained sooner even though it was still under the one-year warranty. Whirlpool will sell you junk backed with horrible customer service. Beware!

We purchased a Whirlpool upright frost-less freezer (model # EVL201NXRQ05)
We purchased a Whirlpool upright frost-less freezer (model # EVL201NXRQ05) in October of 2008. So, you see, it is not even four years old. A few months ago I noticed that some things in the freezer were very soft. I looked at the back of the freezer and there was some ice buildup around the area where the coils are located. I took everything out of the freezer and removed the panel over the coils. There was major ice buildup on the coils. I completely defrosted it and dried it out. I restarted it and it seemed to be working okay. But a few days ago, when I got something from the top shelf of the freezer, it was not even frozen. So, here I go again. I removed everything from the freezer and have defrosted it again. However, this time, as soon as I turned it back on, the ice started building up on the coils immediately. It is impossible to contact anyone at Whirlpool that gives a crap. We have also been having problems with our Whirlpool Gold refrigerator. We have spent over $250 on it and it still is not working properly. I would love to just throw them in a ravine, but we have spent a lot of money on these appliances. We thought that Whirlpool was supposed to be number one in appliances. What a huge mistake we have made and it is costing us dearly.

I should have known better then, but I took it back and got another one, same model. I dont even have it 2 years and its locked up. This is the 3rd washer I bought from Whirlpool in less than 10 years. I went on the Whirlpool site and voiced my disappointment and my problems with their washers. I was told they take pride in their products and I should have a nice day. I purchased at Lowes and they say was without warranty. I have had all kinds of trouble. The pilot light was replaced in the burner easily because of recall. They do not change offices any longer because of PSi difference bull crap. I purchased a Whirlpool gas stove 2 to 3 years ago and I had to purchase an LP change over kit to use it. I owned a Kenmore washer for approx. 20 yrs that endured 6 kids for most of that time period. When time came for a new one, I had to have the latest model, and settled on a Maytag Bravos approx 3 yrs ago. This was a huge mistake - I paid between 600-800 for this machine, and it is a piece of garbage. The repairmen here yesterday explained to me that Maytag and Whirlpool are now the same company, and also that all these machines are now made overseas because of cheap labor. In a nutshell, I was given an estimate of at least 300 to repair this piece of crap - he explained that they are only made to last a few yrs -where is the justice in this situation? We have the same complaints about the washer as other reviewers -- have to
We have the same complaints about the washer as other reviewers -- have to use deep water wash to get enough water in the tub to clean and rinse soap from clothes and we have to keep the loads small. Dryer thermostat had to be replaced right off the bat. Now on medium heat it just burned patterns into two light-weight polyester fleece items -- the clothes came out with the heat input screen pattern burned into them. Now I wonder if they stuck to the heating screen for any length of time, was it a fire hazard? The burned parts of the items are now stuck to the drum so that needs cleaning. So well be using low heat on most everything and drying them twice, since low heat leaves them pretty wet after 35 minutes. So much for buying energy saving appliances which, by the way, we were proud to buy! But, prior to buying these appliances, we had washer and dryers that last 20 years. Built in obsolescence with these new things? I have no faith in the consumer complaint process anymore. The retailer may care as they are a bit closer to the problem, but the manufacturer? Forget it. Vote with your wallet and dont buy these products.

My Duet washer is just 3 years old and has had light use as there are only two people in the household. After just 3 short years the machine stopped working. We were told it needed a controller board and new valves. The cost of the repair was quoted at $733.00. This is far more than we paid for the machine. So we called customer service and at first they thought they could sell us a plan for $350.00 that would cover the repair but it was denied by the supervisor. So zero help, absolutely nothing. Now the backdrop here is that our last Whirlpool (same type) is still in use with our son no repairs in 15 years. Does anyone reading this think we should buy another Whirlpool or recommend it to our Friends and family? I think a Maytag is in our future. I knew I couldnt be the only one with these problems. The reviews confirmed it. I bought my Cabrio washer in 2012. Energy efficient, no agitator to catch on clothes, Great. It took me a while to figure out that the machine was eating my clothes and not cleaning them at all. Oh, they smelled fresh. That HE detergent smells nasty. The machine ate the edges off my good towels, T-shirts, jeans. Brand new underwear (thick elastic) was stretched all the way out and pulled. Normal stains and dirt do not come out even with pretreating. I started running my clothes on the delicate cycle, prewashing stains in a bucket by hand and then putting clothes in mesh bag before running the load. They still came out dirty and ruined. When I run the loads, it still registers as not being that energy efficient on the controls. Id gladly trade it back for my old washer. I feel like I have stepped back in time to a time where you washed everything in a tub or bucket. What a waste of time.

The Cabrio is the absolute worst washer that Ive ever owned! No matter what combination of setting I use, my clothes come out dingy, all twisted and wrinkled, and full of lint and detergent residue (I use liquid detergent made specifically for HE washers). Every setting runs for over an hour. So much for high efficiency! What it saves on water it more than wastes on electricity!! More often than not, the entire load becomes enveloped in one of the items to create one huge ball. A t-shirt stretched to encompass the remaining clothes into a perfect sphere! When that happens, some of the laundry in the middle of the big ball is barely damp. The dryer is just as bad, even the towels come out wrinkled. How is that possible? And again, it takes over an hour to dry a load.Whirlpool customer service is awful. When I called to complain, the agent began schooling me on how to wash clothes. Im 66 years old, Ive washed a few clothes in my lifetime and have always prided myself in my white whites and bright colors. I have a new house and the builder provided all the appliances. Based on my past negative experience with Whirlpool products and their customer service, I would not have purchased Whirlpool.

The one star is just for the oven, which is still working. I have a microwave and oven combo and the microwave is used occasionally for popcorn or to reheat the food. Soon, it stopped warming up. I called the service, which is one of the worse experiences I ever had, and was fixed.Soon after, the same part got broken. But I ran out of the warranty. I bought the extended warranty and all the problems started. I was told by one of the Whirlpool representatives that before my warranty will become effective, I have to fix my microwave on my own expense. But in the Whirlpool terms and conditions, it stated clearly that they do not cover if the repairs are made by anyone other than a participating service provider or those recommended.I decided to cancel the warranty after paying the first rate but before it become effective. I fixed the microwave on my own expense with a different repair service, since the one that was recommended by Whirlpool charged almost a half of the amount as I paid for the whole unit.Within the month, the some part got broken again. I called Whirlpool to find out if this is a manufacture problem and is listed as recall. However, Whirlpool did not respond.

We bought a small refrigerator/freezer Model WRT112CZJZ for a guest house. When not in use it was turned off at the unit control panel with the doors left open. There was a power failure and when the power was restored the refrigerator turned itself back on. Needless to say it must have been running for 2 weeks with the doors open and the condensation filled the holding tank and then proceeded to overflow on the wood floor. The floor was ruined. There was no indication in the manual to warn of the unit restarting when power is restored so it must be unplugged or the circuit breaker turned off to avoid a similar problem.

We just received our brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer from Home Depot.
We just received our brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer from Home Depot. The delivery person started the washer and started the dryer and promptly departed. My husband immediately put a load of laundry into the washer, and he noticed there was insufficient water levels to adequately wet the clothing. Approximately 3 tablespoons of warm water were added at intervals of approximately one minute each. The water level never rose above 3 inches at the bottom of the tub despite setting the washer on the heavily soiled setting. After the spin cycles he removed the extremely damp clothing and it appeared that the machine had not properly completed the spin cycle and drained an insufficient amount of water from the clothing. He tried another load, and it appeared that the sensors were not working which regulate the water levels because most new machines use far less water. However this washer was defective. He then placed the clothes in the brand new Whirlpool dryer. The clothes ran for over five hours and never dried and the dryer never got hot. There was obviously something wrong with the thermostat. We are both disgusted and will never ever buy a Whirlpool product again. In addition because of the extremely poor response from Home Depot, we will never purchase an appliance from them again either. So sad that Made In America, which was on a sticker on the front of the machines, does it mean diddly squat these days.

My refrigerator was purchased in May 2014, and died in August 2015. Before it died, it produced a very loud, rattling noise for two days. Thus, the refrigerator cost me $100/month. It does seem, upon reflection, I would have been better off buying a piece of junk for $50. It would have lasted longer. Additionally, the so-called stainless steel started rusting all over the front surface, first popping up in one spot, then another. One year old, rusty and dead. Great job Whirlpool. Buy American.

I purchase a Cabrio WTW7800XW0 3/28/11. After the year warranty I started to notice sand like substance in the drum of the washer, which lead me to look around the drum. I noticed that the light was completely rusted and flaking, the area around the light was rusted as well. I call customer service at which time they said it was not warrantied, but they sent me out a new light. This did not repair the problem! The rust has continued causing the area around the lid joint to break. Also the area around the bleach dispenser is showing rust- the same side as the light and the lid break. They have said this is not covered and only agreed to pay 1/2 of cost of materials (no service).

I purchased A Whirlpool washer model WTW4816FWD some six months ago and it is worse than my 13 y/o washer I got rid of. When wringing clothes it seems be out of balance as it bangs like crazy even when clothes are adjusted. I thought it was the feet but no dice and the auto sensing levels allows for the washer to fill completely with only three items in it? The noise it makes while washing can be heard throughout the whole house too. The cycle takes three times as long of any Ive ever used! I hate this thing.

I called them and talked to customer service who then transferred me to another department. So far it’s just been the typical runaround with no results. I demanded an immediate replacement but was told that would need approval from yet another department. I don’t remember what departments are involved nor do I care. We have had our Whirlpool Cabrio washer for quite a few years. I agree that the machine is a piece of garbage. Every load is unbalanced. You have to stand there when the spin cycle starts, with your finger on the pause button, so you can rebalance the load, which is no easy task. My 80 minute whitest whites cycle took 2 1/2 hours to complete. Thank goodness I started the load at 5:30am. I hate this washer and anytime I am in an appliance store and see someone looking at it, I inform them it is a piece of junk. I havent contacted Whirlpool because I know they wont help with any issues were having.

Kind of hard to hold up the lid and scoop clothes with the other hand!!! Today, I discovered it is rusting from the inside out!!! From what??? Pulled it forward to clean the floor underneath and discovered it has rusted and corroded even on to the matching dryer - white finish!??! Guilty by association! AAAHHH!!! I wish I could upload the picture! Whirlpool and LEONs warranty - they have some explaining to do.

We purchased the Whirlpool Duet Sport matching washer and dryer new in 2006
We purchased the Whirlpool Duet Sport matching washer and dryer new in 2006 from a local appliance store. The washer was around $1,000. The salesman sold us on the load capacity, telling us it can wash 15 pairs of jeans. We dont overload it, mostly because its a high-efficiency washer and doesnt use much water (Im still trying to figure out the concept of how can you clean a whole load of laundry with a little bit of water). Its very quiet, but the cycles take longer than standard washers. Also, you must use very little soap (too much soap will cause the washer to stop and display an error code, which youll have to call a technician to come and reset). It is now 2013, and the washer started thumping during a cycle and there was a burning rubber smell. We called an appliance repairman who gave us an estimate for repair of $800 to $900 (for a bad bearing/bearing casing and inner basket). Im sure that there was quite a markup on those parts! It seems to me that the older non-efficient washers lasted longer than 7 years, and certainly didnt cost $1,000 when new.

Our Whirlpool Duet front loader washer developed a mildew smell and started making a horrible banging noise on the spin cycle. We had a service man come out and the concrete weight had broken in half. He said this was not uncommon. I just did a Google search and apparently this is a true factory defect. I bought my Whirlpool refrigerator model #ed5fvgxws07 in Oct. 2011. One year seven months later, I am experiencing my 1st breakdown. The refrigerator side is failing to cool. I have replaced the temp control thermostat and I am waiting to see if this fixes the problem. I have researched and checked the other possible problems and it is unlikely that it is a defrost fail as there is no frost build-up in the freezer section. And, I checked the heater element and there is continuity through the element. If this does not fix the problem, I believe that there is one other possible solution. I dont have $300.00 to give to an appliance repairman. Maybe I should give it a rap on the side as one other customer said a repair person did to make it work for a few more weeks.

In the first year of my Whirlpool Washing Machine, the motor quit working entirely. Fortunately, the machine was under a 1-year warranty and the motor was replaced by a Whirlpool service technician. My big complaint with this washing machine is this: Even though you select hot water for the wash cycle, the machine has sensors in it that only allow the water to get lukewarm. If it senses the water getting too hot, it adds cold water to bring the wash temperature back down to 78 degrees F. Next time I will do my research and buy a machine that actually allows one to use hot water.

The trim on the front the my Whirlpool electric range has rubbed off. This is where the knobs for the burners are located. It was replaced once during the Whirlpool 1 year warranty (so it obviously happened with the first year!) and again during the second year we have had it. We have an extended warranty but have been told that it is not covered. It is ecstatically unacceptable. We have not used any type of harsh cleansers on it - simply a sponge to remove any spills yet it keeps on disappearing. Had the entire kitchen remodeled. We bought a Whirlpool Gold French Door refrigerator from Sears, did not buy an extended service contract. The refrigerator has NEVER made an ice cube. The water dispenser in the left door sometimes works, mostly not. The fridge freezes the food inside, temp. set at 41°F. The entire ice maker has been replaced, several valves have been replaced, a service company rep. tore the back off the fridge, found some insulation misplaced, said he repaired that. We have been very patient. Three repair companies have been sent out by Whirlpool, two said the refrigerator CANNOT BE REPAIRED. Whirlpool told me the only resolution is repair.Whirlpools Customer Experience Center is a joke, they do nothing but try to schedule another repair call. Tell you how sorry they are about your problem but do nothing to solve the problem. Carefully trained to give you the BIG runaround and nothing else. You never get the same person twice or the same city twice. Patients exhausted. Calling my lawyer. I would strongly advise anyone needing a new refrigerator not to buy a Whirlpool product. You should also check the list of other brands they make, there are several. I wouldnt buy them either. Buy a fridge made in Japan by a Japanese company. I purchased a GW399LXUS Whirlpool Gas Range. This is the slide in kind. I paid 1658.00 dollars for this stove, because it was a gas convection oven. We purchased it on 7/21/09. Just yesterday, the keypad numbers stopped working. I cannot even set a temperature for the oven. So now, I can only use the burners. I called Whirlpool today. They told me that my stove does not have any recalls so there is nothing they can do about it. I spoke with Jessica in Michigan. I told her how dissatisfied I was that the stove is only 2 years old and the most important part (the buttons) stopped working and they only cover this for one year. She told me that I have to remember that man made things are made to stop working at some time. I told her they should work for longer than 2 years. I remember way back when my parents bought a stove or fridge and they lasted for 15 to 20 years before breaking or stopping to work.I am a long time Whirlpool customer and always had good luck with their products. But I really feel that they should fix this problem. I could understand if the stove was 8 or 10 years old and something broke after using it, but not after 2 years. I will definitely tell everyone I know to not buy Whirlpool or Maytag since they are one in the same. I probably will not buy Whirlpool again and will have to buy something from Japan since it will last longer. So much for buying American made junk!
